MINAS #55 Part 1

Much of the dialogue eluded me. Kindly add anything important I missed.

Sebas and Miriam kiss!

“Victoria”, Emilia introduces herself to Tigre, hand extended. Tigre stares, muttering she reminds him of his daughter. For a split second, Emilia looks like she might confess. Leo stands alongside Tigre, taking it all in. Tigre is going to go into the mine and Victoria calls him back asking about Emilia. Tigre flashes back to when Emilia was a young girl, fitting her with a hard hat. In her black mesh shirt, tight grey dress and outsize silver choker, Emilia is quite a sight. She speaks kindly to Tigre.

Sara and Danilo talk about Romina (not sure in what context). He leans forward and speaks softly. He is very seductive and very appealing. Their attraction is palpable. Your husband is Leo he laments. Further “love” speak is interrupted by the entrance of Addled and associates”; apparently this is the only restaurant in town. Danilo makes a hasty retreat. Later, Danilo meets with the policewoman (I think). He gives her some cash; she gives him her hand on his leg. Not sure what he wants her to do but they toast to it.

Gigi tries to cheer up Jenny who really wants a baby. Teresa give Jenny a holy card and wishes her luck.

Zaira laments about missing her family to her cellmate, they cross themselves.

Tigre and Emilia talk business. Tigre gives the miners an order but Emilia stops him (Gael looking on; she slyly winks at him). Tigre is dismayed and introduces her to Gael. They’ve already met he quickly learns. Con permiso she says, Tigre’s jaw on the floor, muttering to himself. Gael looks after her smiling.

Roberta is getting a backrub from Fidel. Julian Sanchez calls her; she ignores the call much to Tigre’s chagrin. She mutters about Tigre and Ignacio being trouble. Fidel helps Roberta with her breathing, but fire still escapes her nostrils. As she undoes his robe and they kiss, the camera mercifully pans away.

Tigre leaves La Patrona a message. Is there a problem Emilia asks? They discuss Leo a bit.

Orlando and Leo meet. Orlando points out Lola…hmmm. Leo still has mother issues. Orlando asks how Nico is. Leo seems confused about Sara; he mentions Victoria. Orlando semi-smiles, knowingly.

Emilia, Aleida, and Danilo strategize; Emilia worrying about her father.

MINAS #55 Part 2 of 2

Gael and Tigre are at the police station just as Zaira comes out, Ezequiel behind her. She grabs her papers from him and he gives her back her nugget as he mutters angrily. Tigre smiles sweetly at Zaira, thanking her for her huge sacrifice and all that she did. He is gruff but very grateful. The small family smiles lovingly at each other.

Roberta, Sara, and Nico have breakfast as Joaquina serves them. Marijo joins the group. Roberta is not thrilled to see her daughter (come to think of it she is never glad to see her). I believe Marijo wants to work in the mine. I believe Roberta seems to finally gives in to Marijo’s request.

Tigra returns to the mine, everyone is thrilled to see him. Oh and Leo is there too in a beautiful suit, tie, and pocket square. It seem clear he will not be swinging a pickaxe today. Tigre is clearly touched at the warm greeting.

Danilo presents Sebastian to Victoria. Mucho gusto he says. Emilia forgets herself and/or can’t help herself, stepping forward and hugging him. Sebastian stares: he obviously doesn’t realize Victoria is Emilia but he senses something. Aleida and Danilo try to lighten the moment.

Tigre completes his triumphant return to the mines but he gets in a few words about Leo’s mother.

Sebas thanks her for her attention to the mines, he smiles lopsidedly. Emilia is clearly shaken, Danilo sort of stares.

Roberta pours poison in Sara’s ear saying how intelligent and beautiful Victoria is. She did her job well; Sara seems concerned.

Patricio the lackey visits Leo. He disagrees with something; if anyone can fill in here, please do so. Leo dismisses him firmly.

Victoria interrupts Sebas’ coffee and asks if he minds if she sits down. She says she is aware of his problems with Roberta. He asks how. She explains she investigated (I think), I believe she assures him that in time, Roberta will indeed be held responsible for everything she has done. He warns her to be careful (excellent advice).

Roberta arrives on her broom (err car) and Leo tells her Tigre is back in the mine.

Still conversing with Emilia, Sebas takes the gold necklace out of his pocket, telling Victoria it is Emilia’s. Highly emotional, he asks her to forgive him. Emilia fingers the necklace and then puts it back in his hand, bringing his fingers together in a fist, She puts her hand over his…

LOSERS' CIRCLE AKA ANNOYING PLOT LINES I DO NOT LIKE

Amanda ends up CAVING and is taking care of Everardo AGAIN. How stupid! I wanted to hit her head against the wall. Leandro's wife Lorena knows all about him having a daughter out of wedlock but doesn't know he is putting the moves on her mother (Manuela). I liked the she told him that his mother Amanda owed his father NOTHING. I didn't like Leandro answering her saying that his mother did owe his father because he supported her nicely for all of those years. When Everardo finds out about Julieta and Leandro's subsequent shenanigans, he calls him a chip off the old block and tells him he better get a DNA test just to make sure the girl is his.

BRATTY Julieta has the nerve to ask her mother if her father was her first sex partner. Really?

I want to see Manuela haul off and punch Leandro right in the kisser after that hijacked kiss.


MYSTERIES: I LIKE THOSE

What is wrong with Pablito? He is always asking his father to massage his back. The doctor comes to give him an injection. He says he is a special case and that he needs to get more tests done. Emotional upheaval seems to make his pain worse?

What was is it that Carmina discovered about Damián that supposedly made him leave? At least, Pablito overheard his mother talking to his aunt about how the message they sent from"Damián" stopped Pablo from continuing his search for him. Pablito wants his father to find his brother and tells him what he heard. Pablo confronts his wife about what Pablito heard.

Where is Dulce? We see her being accosted on a dark street and thrown into a car. Paloma gets a call that the lights have been on in Dulce's apt. for days. Paloma finds a broken glass with blood on it in her apartment. Dulce's neighbors post a photo of her on Amibuk to help find her. Yaneli's brother goes missing over night. She notices an injury near his eye? She finds out about Dulce missing from that internet purveyor of gossip from "Vencer la ausencia" Ana Sofí. She remembers that argument she saw, her brother getting slapped and angrily chasing a girl down the street. She realizes the girl was Dulce.

The most irritating thing was right at the start. Sebas agrees they should 'try being a couple.' Stupid Miriam actually does say she knows he still loves E, so why then push him so much? I swear that either allwomen in this town eat something that is damaging their brain or something because Jenifer saying she absolutely needs to get pregnant was another one of those' can you hear yourself' mmoments. Maybbe it's the water? Or those products they keep promoting? That milk did look suspicious to me.
Sara asks Danilo where he went after he escaped, but he says the past doesn't matter. She tells him he could have asked her ehlp, but he says it would have been dangerous to involve her and he couldn't have forgiven himself if something had happened to her. Hee also is surprised she ended up with a man so different fromhim. He thinks Leo is only'un capricho' for her. But of course she says she is in looove with him.
Emilia doesn't let tigre to go into the mine because he is wearing no helmit and later doesn't seem to approve of his plans that I think involve putting explosives in different parts of the mine.
Fidel tells Roberta tigre could die in the mine and it's a bad idea to risk another one dying. Apparently more people died in the gloria than in that other mine. R says' one problem less then.' What I'd like to know is how E is going to make sure this doesn't happen because she wanted him there.
Leo tells Orlando he is confused about Victoria. Why does he sound so weirdly petulant/annoyed in this episode? The way he talks is somehow odd to me
I was a bbit confused about Zaira's situation because the policewoman said she'd be transfered elsewhere the next day when Danilo asked ifshe's going to be released. And at first I thought the woman agreed with him. But she promissed to help him anyway. She said she liked flowers....
It was funny when tigre said he wasn't going to let Zaira stay in prison when it took Roberta paying him a visit and Gael talking to him to make him give in. Such a liar!
Leo wants to put ramps in the mine so that tigre can have full access to it. Patrichio thinks it's dangerous for tigre to be inside the mine. Leo says tigre isn't one to sit in the office. Patrichio also brings up the fact tigre and Ramiro don't get on. Leo says Ramiro was usually the one to start the arguments, P says but tigre too got involved. He says it's a bad idea to hire tigre's people for this reason. Leo says they show initiative that Roberta's lot hasn't shown in years. R says they are only following orders. Leo says that's the problem. You need to be proactive. P brings up that he has expressed his opinion many times but wasn't listened to. Leo says he either didn't do it loud enough (should he have brought a loudspeaker or what? Such a stupid thing to say, Leo!) or his loyalty is still with Roberta. Can't Leo stop lecturing everyone? I can't stand it.
Roberta at first wanted Mri to return to Ireland or wherever she was studing international relations. I wonder how she was going to make her do so because it seemed as if she thought just by saying 'you go back' she could make it happen.

I actually missed the first two minutes so did not hear Sebas and Miriam's convo, I tuned in at the kiss. I agree, Sebas still loves Emilia. It isn't fair to either party when one is completely smitten and the other luke warm. Love cannot be forced.

So Sara is going the "I love Leo" route. She doesn't but she doesn't want anyone else to have him either. She already sees Victoria as a potential rival. Danilo deserves so much better. Like Miriam, he seems fixated on someone they can't have.

Thank you so much for explaining about the ramps in the mine. Of course Patricio is completely loyal to Roberta!!

Jarifa, "Loser's Circle" was clever and oh so fitting! 😊

You always capture the essence of what occurred with wit and wisdom. Your summary is excellent.

Everardo is just despicable. So cold, cruel and calculating. Add Lorena to the list of those who deserve so much better. Perhaps Julieta could be shuffled off to live with him. Amanda needs to leave and never look back.

Understanding that something nefarious has happened to poor Dulce is dawning quickly. Watching her trying to elude whomever was chasing her was heartbreaking. Was it Genaro? I'm not sure but he is embroiled in this for certain. What could Dulce possibly have known or done to warrant such cruelty??

Leandro going to Julieta's performance with Manuela was a bit surprising. Guess he isn't concerned about anyone seeing them. Is his plan just to seduce Manuela or is he looking for a relationship on the side.

Not enough Pablo tonight...

Are we ever going to see any actual dogs at Amanda's shop???

Thanks, Diana. It is just whatever I catch in my comments these days. As for Amanda, we are never going to see any dogs at her shop. She carries no animals just supplies and is a firm believer in getting dogs from rescues. She has promised Enrique to go with him to get a dog when she gets back from vacation which is beginning to sound like when Everardo finally kicks the bucket??? I am wondering, too, if Genaro might be a red herring in the Dulce disappearance. I felt sorry for Dulce as it seems that she never was seen at the abused women's center due to their being too busy and her own inability to wait. As for Leandro going to the performance, his wife Lorena knows all about Julieta and supports him getting to know her. He must have fathered Julieta before their marriage due to her acceptance of Julieta's existence. What she doesn't know is that her hubby is a slimy louse just like her father-in-law.

Diana and Waterlily, thank you so much for the recap . I couldn't watch , but I saw some photos .

So....the only one who recognizes Em is her brother ....not her father or the two guys who are in love with her . That is not a good sign to me.

Hmmmm...even Em grabbing Seb and giving him a big bear hug didn't make any bells go off for hopelessly devoted Seb. If Seb had recognized Em, I would have concluded that he was her soulmate but.....no. No call of love for either Leo or Seb. Disappointing .Its interesting that Em couldn't help herself from embracing Seb, but she was able to keep her hands to herself with Leo. I feel really bad for Oswaldo . This is his first galan role , and the writers have given him nothing to show his talent. They have made him weak and foolish . ...A do nothing galan. Seb and Dan have been given more hero like actions and words.

I miss young Gael. I am very impressed with that young actor.

Orlando talked to Leo about Lola...who is Lola?

The jail must have a revolving door as people keep going in and out so frequently .

I do not want Seb and Miriam together . Susan

Dan is a dish that Sara doesn't deserve . She must not have been very worried about him after that fire because she never tried to find out what happened to him. Real concern and devotion. It seemed like he was just an excellent bunnyhopper to her . She was concentrating on tricking Leo into marrying her while continuing to be haughty and cranky. Ugh

Ugh, Leandro can look sincere but he's a selfish egotist. He just doesn't have his father's outright mean streak - at least, not yet.

Great, Paloma and Yaneli are zooming in on Dulce being in danger. While Paloma found the broken glass with blood, I was impressed with how feminine and elegant the place was. I do enjoy checking out the decor in TNs, especially of those living on a shoestring.

Lola is the young woman that Fidel hired to seduce Orlando sometime back. Now she has shown up and been given a job at the restaurant. She is very touchy feely and is spying for Fidel. Jenny is jealous of the easy relationship she has with Orlando.

I was thinking recently that at the beginning we talked about how we hoped this wouldn't turn out to be another invencie and well...It does seem similar, doesn't it? Maybe mentioning this telenovela is like a curse now. But if they are doing a remake, why can't they have different couples from the ones they had in the original? It's a crime to make Sebas solikable and still give E to Leo on a silver platter. It's episode 54 and Leo is as unlikable as he had been.I have a feeling rescuing Nico will be his ticket to the galanland. But...But..Sebas raises his hand,' I worked so hard for this.' 'No', say the writers. 'Sticking to the old ways is what matters, Seb. aAnd life is unfair.'

Yes, Flor is the one who was trying to seduce him when he was with the police department. Fidel hired her and now she is his spy at the restaurant. Huge sigh. Jenny is very jealous of her easygoing relationship with Orlando.

I totally agree that "It's a crime to make Sebas solikable and still give E to Leo on a silver platter". I do like the actor but the writers are tying his hands by making his character ridiculously devoted to his mother (just one of many reasons).

Diana: Thank you very much for the recap of last night's episode. I see we've got more stupidity from the usual you-know-who folks including Leonardo, who's ego is getting too big for its britches.

What's Fidel's angle in having Flor spying on folks at the restaurant ? What is his endgame overall ?


Waterlily: Crazy Whacky Blonde Sara is still annoying & more scheming from Roberta the Nutjob.

Susan: From the way things are trending, it is looking more & more likely Crazy Whacky Blonde Sara & Danillo are going to be endgame.

Big question is who will end up with Adelia ?

Thanks, Jarifa, I don’t know how I miss the things I miss. I didn’t know that Leandro’s wife knew about Julieta. I did pick up Leandro telling Manuela he was getting a divorce and not sure what he said about his wife, just know it was bad. I hope Manuela doesn’t fall for him. She was telling her mother she wouldn’t but I figure she will. If anything, Julieta will make her life miserable if she doesn’t get back with him.

Julieta must be a really good little actress. I don’t like her even when she seems to be acting nice. I was not thrilled with her being so happy with the kiss.

I couldn’t believe Amanda was talked into caring for her miserable ex. I think her kids don’t want to be bothered so they guilt her into doing it. They don’t seem to care how horrible he treats her. I guess they’ve seen it all their lives. I hope she doesn’t give up the store.

I was so glad Pablito told his dad what he overheard. That isn’t always the case in these telenovelas, and you’re talking to the screen telling them to tell what they know.

Now I know how the four women get together. I really couldn’t figure that out. The brother seems like the guilty one but I don’t think he’s the kidnapper, too obvious!

Whoopsie! My bad. Lorena doesn't know about there being another woman. In #5, Leandro was talking about a CLIENT of his when he was talking about having come to an agreement with the mother about the daughter.

RAT HOLE TRIFECTA:

DOWN ONE RAT HOLE: Too much time given to Leandro's family. Amanda is made to feel like she owes all of them because she gave Everardo the wrong meds by mistake which lands him the hospital. Unfortunately, he recovers and will be going back home the next day but not before Leandro plays on Manuela's good and stupid nature and makes sure that Julieta gets to meet her grandfather. Leandro gets a call earlier from Lorena who wants to bring his sons over to see Everardo. He says no, they can see him at home the next day. The kids insist and Lorena brings them to the hospital only to hear from the nurse that there is a woman and a girl visiting Everardo with Leandro.

DOWN ANOTHER RAT HOLE: TWENTY YEARS AGO Pablo and his first wife Mariana (Carmina's cousin) were told by a doctor that due to her having Eisenmenger Syndrome (type of congenital heart defect), Mariana should not get pregnant because of high maternal mortality rates. She decides ALL ON HER OWN that she is going to get pregnant because she knows how much being a father would mean to Pablo. He tries to discourage her but he evidently went along (REALLY?) with her plan because they had Damián and she is dead.

DOWN YET ANOTHER RAT HOLE: Carmina calls her poor son Pablito on the carpet and makes him admit to his father that he lies to him about feeling sick so he will not make him feel bad. She also chews him out for making her look bad by telling his father what she said to her sister. CRAZY MAKING! Here his hoping that Pablo will leave and take Pablito with him.

NORMAL EVENTS ON THE SURFACE: Pablo is back in Mexico City looking for Genaro. He talks to the police and is thinking about hiring a private detective. /Yaneli finds the original photo of Dulce in front of the motel on her bro's phone. She gets a job at Amanda's shop./Enrique is clearly interested in Amanda and asks her when they are going to the shelter. He offers to take care of her puppy Chimichurri./ Paloma will not let Dulce become just another missing woman. She goes to the police to report her missing.

I'm VERY late, but I wanted to thank Diana and Waterlily for the amazing recap and extra information!

I agree with everything I've seen, but my absolute favourite was "Maybbe it's the water? Or those products they keep promoting? That milk did look suspicious to me". I was laughing out loud at this and the Invencible curse. I guess it's the Voldemort telenovela - the one who must not be named ;)

I'm having serious trouble with many plot lines, but since Diana will do tonight's recaps too (thank you!) I'll write my thoughts after the recap is posted.

I can do Friday's recap as usual :)
 

MINAS #56 Part 1

Kindly add dialog (or anything else) I missed and correct anything I got wrong.

Tigre and Gael are reviewing blueprints with the miners. Everyone seems enthused until Ramiro and his group show up to spoil the party.

Miriam is accosted by some mean women asking her if Addled is her father’s son. She gives them a good dose of lip and the women cross themselves. Miriam turns and we see she in tears.

Ramiro starts taunting and the two sides seem ready to brawl but peacemaker Leo arrives just in time. The groups disperse and Tigre and Leo talk a bit, actually seem to get along.

Sara and Marijo talk with the newly promoted secretary. Sara tries to boss her around and walks imperiously by. Marijo meets with her not so sweet mother. La Patrona wants her to come with her. This can’t be good.

At Aleida the restaurant, Jenny is serving customers when Lola arrives late. Jenny upbraids her and Jenny flounces out. She runs into Orlando who asks where she is going. Home she retorts. Then, the REAL Aleida arrives and they sit at a table and beam at each other.

Roberta and Marijo arrive at the mine. Apparently Marijo is going to see mine up close and personal as this is her new job! Ramiro comes up, Roberta explains Marijo will be working there. With that, Roberta leaves. A nice miner comes up, introduces himself and gives her his hard hat. She puts on the hard hat and stares at Ramiro.

Marijo is pushing a wheelbarrow when Gael comes up. Gael is dismayed and asks why she is there. La Patrona Ramiro says. Emilia comes up and asks who the girl is. La Patrona’s daughter she is told. It is obvious Emilia does not care for Ramiro.

Adelia is enthused about the restaurant. She asks if the woman who works there is Orlando’s wife but he says no. The call of the blood is evident throughout their conversation. He is kind and attentive. He says he was separated from his mother and Aleida gets very emotional. Are you all right he asks concernedly? In answer she cries. Just then Fidel arrives and Orlando gets up to speak with him. Aleida puts her sunglasses on looking like she will get sick.

Emilia goes to Leo to complain about Ramiro. She tells him there is a new girl working there, the daughter of La Patrona. “Marijo” Leo asks startled. Yup in the flesh. Sara lurks around the corner just as Leo grabs Emilia’s hand.

Gael and Marijo flirt a bit and she thanks him. They are standing together holding hands when Roberta walks up. What are you doing here she asks him angrily.

MINAS #56 Part 2 of 2

There are several confrontational scenes between Victoria and Sara. Victoria arrives at her office, finding Sara lounging in her chair. Victoria tells Sara she is confused as it is her office. Sara begs to differ then Victoria invites her to get up. Sara wants to make things crystal clear. She vows that nothing, no one will separate her from Leo. Emilia smiles and stares.

Fidel talks to Orlando as Aleida gets up. He notices Aleida and asks Orlando who the woman is. She is a friend he answers. Based on seeing her for a few seconds, Fidel seems to have some objection…

Outside, Aleida collapses against the fence, in tears, crying and holding her stomach. She flashes back to a scene in the past where she confronted Fidel for having an amante. She then says she wants a divorce. Fidel tries to manhandle her and (I think) threatens her she will lose her son. Back to the present, she tells herself no. Fidel comes out and watches her go down the street.

Marijo tries to civilly answer her mother and takes Gael’s hand much to Roberta’s disdain. She leaves and Roberta insults Gael who looks angry calling her la vibora under his breath.

There is a subplot regarding Nico and several classmates that he eventually talks to his abuela about but I’m not clear on the details.

Emilia is running a drill with the miners. Leo arrives and he and Tigre look suitably impressed. Leo accepts the challenge as they pass (extinguishers?) quickly down the line.

Zaira is reading cards but she doesn’t like what she sees. There is a knock on the door and Gigi rushes in. Zaira tells her she was in jail and Gigi looks rather shamefaced. Gigi turns to leave with a sad face but as she hesitates Zaira says “what” and Gigi leaves.

Emilia and Leo are in the mines when she flashes back to their being in the collapsed mine together, she crying and he holding her protectively. She is back to business. He looks after her and smiles.

Jenny confronts Flor at the register, threatening she stay away from her novia. Flor fights back verbally and having had enough, snaps back, takes off her apron, throwing it over the counter and leaves.

Gael appears to have had a change of heart. When he and Marijo meet at the mine, Gael rejects her, talking about money and class. La Patrona did manage to poison his mind evidenced by the fact he coldly dismisses Marijo saying con permisso senorita.

Leo is following Emilia in the mine. She is cool with him and as she backs up a bit, he grabs her and pulls her back. They stare wordlessly, both swept up in the moment.

Thank you for your excellent summary which explained much that I missed.

I am with you in being sorry Everando survived. Poor Amanda was so upset! Everando is proof positive that only the good die young, isn't he?

Carmina is so vile...Yes, Pablo should leave immediately and take Pablito with him. That said, I am sure she will threaten to file for sole custody should he try and take him. Not that she loves or cares about her only son, but only to try and hold onto what she has.

Does Leandro think Lorena is deaf, dumb and blind? She clearly is none of those yet Leandro is openly pursuing Manuela and introducing Julieta to his family! I hope Pablo and Manuela's relationship deepens quickly so she won't be tempted by Leandro.

I was happy to see Paloma file the missing person report on Dulce. Also that Yaneli is trying to put the puzzle pieces together about her disappearance. The search begins...

Gael was angry that after he defended M against Roberta, M pretty much told him to mind his own business and thus made him look stupid. She seems to want to apologise or wants him to understand she has to one-up Roberta. Gael says this is one thing, but it's entirely another for me to be mistreated. I don't get why M wants to prove to Roberta she can't boss her around. Like what does it matter? She isn't even related to her as R is only her step-mother.
Flor actually tells Jen Orlando hired her because they know each other well. She says she and women like her are the guilty pleasure of men like Orlando and that Orlando likes her so Jen should be careful.
Both Jen and Sara were funny to me because there is nothing more absurd than saying you know what you're worth but in the same breath insisting a woman won't steal your man. E told Sara there are plenty more fish in the sea which for some reason made Sara say she and E were alike. How? Sara is desperate and stupid and E is self-assured and competent.I don't see any similarities. But I can never understand how these 'worldly' women don't realise showing your desperation to your enemy is a bad idea.
Nico lost a football match and he had agreed to accept a challenge if he lost. The challenge involved stealing a teacher's car keys. I'm a bit confused by this too because he said now Luis (the boy who challenged him) won't bother him anymore but he still has to pay some boys or there will be no car keys. Roberta found this out and Nico said now they respect him. Roberta, however, knows from experience that if you are paying them, something's not right. she tells him as much. Nico tells her he was bullied as a child and so now he doesn't want to fear anyone anymore. So what exactly did those kids provide him? Because he said he paid them for providing something needed for the challenge and yet someone told him 'no money, no keys'.
Zair saw a pregnancy in the cards and also life and death together, which she interpreted as someone returning from the grave. Gigi wanted something from her but Zaira told her she'd help only if Gigi went against Roberta. This isn't happening of course.

I suspect if Gael had said nothing, Marijo might have been angry with him there as well. A no win situation. I feel sorry for Marijo because until she is old enough to strike out on her own, she is sadly under Roberta's thumb. She has no one to stand up for her; Leo is ineffective and unaware.

Ooooh, Flor "says she and women like her are the guilty pleasure of men like Orlando and that Orlando likes her so Jen should be careful". No wonder Jen looked shell shocked!!

Diana, I'm glad I could help. I have to add that Leo told Sara she doesn't have to come to the office every day because who will look after Romina. Her response was 'her nana' or you could do it too. I agreed with her until she said that she wasn't going to spend time with a kid who a few years later won't say a word to her and that she (Sara) was always like that, i.e., she doesn't like this role of a devoted mother and that Leo shouldn't bother getting angry. How is it that she doesn't know that you can't unsubscribe when it comes to motherhood. It's not Netflicks, Sara. I'm adding this because I can't believe she keeps repeating the same thing to everyone. It's as if she thinks someone should take over raising her kid. I think earlier, when she was talking about working in the mine, Leo said what about the kids. Sara responded with 'I can do everything'. I was like 'but you ignore your daughter completely!What are you talking about?'
I can take a woman with self-confidence issues andwould want a happy ending for her, but why should I care about Sara, who doesn't seem to care about her own child?

I see why Pablo feels guilty about his wife's premature death even though she wanted to take the risk of pregnancy. Poor thing, then he marries a viper like Carmina who knows how to tie him up in knots when he's simply trying to find his runaway/missing child.

I'm not convinced that Amanda actually gave Everardo the wrong pill. I wouldn't put it past him to set that up to make her feel guilty. If he's so upset about the mistake, why not "fire" her and get a real home health aide? Because the sicko loves having her around to kick.

I'm having issues with Manuela. Leandro was married when she got pregnant, but then she didn't know about the other woman. Now years later, he's still married to the other woman and again putting the moves on her, yet she doesn't put her foot down.

Wondering what in the world Yaneli's brother is mixed up in.

I wonder how Orlando is explaining to himself this pull toward this older woman , Aleida. Do we know how old Orlando was when horrid Fidel put her in the manicomia? I really don't want Orlando to be saddled with whiny, sulky sad sack Jen. He seems to have more of a positive connection to Lady of the night Flor.

Since Zaire saw a pregnancy , I wonder if Jen is pregnant .

Thanks, Jarifa Carmina reminds me of someone else that put their child on the spot like that. Can’t think who or what show. But her reasoning is off, because he lied about one thing he lied about what he overheard. Poor kid. Pablo should take him with him to look for his son.

Leandro was married when Manuela got pregnant. So he cheated on Lorena and he will have to lie about Julieta’s age if he wants to keep that from her. But since she’s now in the hospital tonight should be eye opening! She doesn’t look like the type of wife that would put up with a cheat. And why would Leandro have wanted Julieta and Manuela to come to the hospital to meet Everando. Maybe he can’t risk them meeting at home. I like Everando even less after all his sweet talk in the hospital to a would be girlfriend, and his new granddaughter. I feel like the two men planned this conversation. I really doubt Leandro has been missing “the love of his life” for 14 years.

Everando had those same pains once before but maybe Amanda wasn’t there. But I see no reason to blame a medicine mix-up. Her daughter was awful the way she blamed Amanda. She needs to take care of her father.

I hope Dulce will be ok in the end. Poor girl doesn’t seem to have any family.

A few thoughts:

It was really disgusting but not surprising finding out that Everardo had trained Leandro from the time he was a young man to use women however he wanted to. Fifteen years ago, Leandro told Everardo that he would be marrying Lorena because of her money and connections but he also had no plans on giving up Manuela. He had her eating out of his hand. His father told him from his own experience that it was easier said than done. Uh oh! It turned out that Manuela found out he was lying to her and broke up with him. In the present, Everardo decides to give his son a boost with Manuela and tells her that due to how ill is, he has to ask her not to disappear from his son's life. When she leaves, Leandro thanks his father for his assistance and tells him he is planning on keeping both Lorena and Manuela in his life. He didn't get the message 15 years earlier?? I really enjoyed Lorena not being stupid. She smelled a rat when Manuela and Julieta were identified as an employee and her daughter who came to visit Everardo. She clearly smells another rat when she catches Lisandro in a lie when it comes to his evening meetings. She looks through the family photo album on line and suddenly a Julieta has "liked" all the photos. A photo of Manuela Román with her daughter Julieta appear. They seem to look familiar. . .

Pablo is well-intentioned but is not street smart at all. He is from Guadalajara not from the sticks so it was hard for me to buy. A recovering addict tells him to go to this drug house (abandoned warehouse in this case) where they might be able to give him some info on his son. He walks in, asks about his son and is beaten and robbed on the spot. N osurprise there.

Dulce is still missing. Paloma is still feeling guilty for not knowing more about her and now Amanda has joined her in that guilt. Gerardo seemed to be upset when Yaneli brought up Dulce's name. He got very short with her.

The center where Manuela works is a domestic abuse center. It was mentioned that both women and men could be victims of domestic abuse.

Now, Paloma's parents don't think it is a good idea for her to go abroad and study. What is with them?

MINAS #57 Part 1

There were quite a few short scenes where I was not able to understand enough to translate what occurred so I am going to omit them. Therefore, this is going to be vague and short out of necessity.

Emilia is cool with Leo, putting him off saying she will see him at work tomorrow. He ends up grabbing her as she steps back but lets her go and picks up his hat and leaves, she closing her eyes after.

Patricio pays Sara a visit followed by Marijo.

Roberta is proud of Nico in proving he is better than his friends, assuring him this is the only way to be respected. You are my blood she notes, taking his hand. She harkens back to a man (her brute of a father) taking his belt off and threatening to beat Roberta and her sister as they cower on a filthy mattress on the floor. She wants him to know he is special. She touches his cheek in what would be endearing if anyone else was doing it. But as it is Roberta, it was simply creepy.
Orlando and Jenny continue to argue as do Addled and Gigi, harping on Miriam.

I believe Miriam tells Sebas she isn’t happy living in the town. He dries her tears with his fingers; so sweet. They are a family. He kisses her hand and she sits on his lap and they kiss, she cradles his head in her arms. We see him looking pensive.

Emilia flashes back to a young Nico and Leo when they were all going to be together.

Aleida and Danilo present Emilia with the keys to her mother’s house. It means so much to her, she is teary eyed. Thank you. What is the plan Danilo asks?

Leo has gone out for a run. He thinks about being in the mine with Emilia and kissing her. Sara is waiting for him with a drink. He thanks her. She wants him to do something he agrees but I couldn’t figure out what it was.

It seems Miriam and Sebas are trying to register her son at school? Addled is listening around the corner. Gigi shows up introducing herself to Miriam’s son. She ends up telling everyone to “shut up” and tells Prospera what she wants her to do. A crowd has assembled and everyone claps appreciatively. Sebas smirks at Addled.

Orlando and Jenny arrive at the restaurant which is closed!! He kisses her on the forehead and as he leaves, she calls him back but he doesn’t come. Flor comes up and Jenny bites her head off. Flor asks about money saying something about her mother being ill. Softening a bit, Jenny says something to the effect she will be paid. Flor thanks her and starts to move to hug her but pulls back. Con permisso. Jenny shakes her head, seemingly aggravated with herself.

MINAS #57 Part 2 of 2

It’s breakfast at Roberta’s. Everyone is nestled cozily around the table, Roberta talking with Nico. Emilia walks in, looking like a million dollars and says “buenos dias”, looking directly at Nico.

“What a surprise Victoria” Roberta purrs. Emilia sits down to Nico bestowing a huge smile on him. Roberta ridiculously introduces her to Nico and then to Joaquina. Emilia apologizes for interrupting.

Roberta tells Emilia they are a close family and Marijo laughs much to Roberta’s annoyance. Leo gets up and walks out with Emilia and Roberta. Marijo thinks Victoria is super and Joaquina thinks highly of her as well. Later, Marijo and Sara have a few cross words.

Fidel is in a meeting when Orlando barges through the door asking why he closed the restaurant. Does Fidel admit it? I could not follow what he said.

Victoria advises Roberta and Leonardo to modernize the mine as the profits would be tremendous. Any mention of more dinero always catches Roberta’s attention and she seems to agree. At that moment, Marat calls Victoria. As she hangs up, Nico surprises her and they talk a bit. As soon as Leo shows up, Sara slithers up cooing “Amor, do you have a moment” Victoria apologizes again for interrupting and puts out her hand, shaking Nico’s as Leo stares.

Emilia tells the miners she wants to speak to Tigre alone.

Fidel calls Flor and Orlando comes up just after they hang up. They greet each other warmly. And then, (to my surprise) I think she tells Orlando that she likes him (I hope I got that right) as he seems impactada.

Tigre talks to Victoria about why he returned to the mine. He wistfully reminisces about Ignacio, his compadre, as well as Emilia. He misses his grandson. Victoria looks touched and tells her father that he and his people will always be able to count on her to protect them!

Jarifa, thank you for encapsulating tonight’s events so completely and clearly.

Everardo and Leandro’s conversation was truly revolting. Not solely in content but the smirks, knowing nods and dishonest duplicity was cringeworthy. You are completely right, Leandro hasn’t learned any lesson and as we know, when that happens, history is sometimes doomed to repeat itself. The silver lining is that Leandro has greatly underestimated Lorena who is already well on her way to finding out the truth. The vanity and smugness to think he can cheat and lie, again makes Leandro every woman’s worst nightmare.

Is Genero Jekyll and Hyde or is he pure Hyde?? He seems fairly rationale with his sister (although he snapped at her tonight) but monstrous in the flashback scenes he had with Dulce.

Pablo walked right into another nightmare. But really, he should have known better. He is not a bit closer to finding Damian.

Finally, Carlos Ferro! I couldn’t figure out what his role in the company was (is he the owner?) but I smiled at his and Paloma’s meeting. I look forward to seeing more of him.

Does anyone know what actor is playing the younger Leandro? I can’t see anything in the quick credits but it sure does look like Lambda Garcia or someone very similar.

Sebas told Miriam he couldn't get a job. The only job available in that pueblo is apparently in the mines. E tried to convince Seb to work for them but he refused. So M says let's leave the twon then. But then all of a sudden she says los Sanchez need Seb here to which Seb responds that she can't keep escaping from Addled. And this is how they end up trying to register Andres (I thinkit's the boy's name) as Sebas' son. However, the system isn't working. Gigi shows up and says you fist register the kid and then uploadthe whole thing onto the system so Prospera should do her job. Addled tries to threaten Prospera. But it appears the good guys have won this round.
Fidel supposedly closed the restaurant for Orlando's own good. He talks about how there are people higher up who want Orlando to set up distribution channels (I hope I heard this right). But I'm still confused if the restaurant is closed because it's going to be strictly used for 'the business' or because Orlando refused to cooperate. Fidel did say 'when you decide...' I didn't catch the last word but I didn't get the impression Orlando was given a choice in the matter when Fidelapproached him about 'the business' a few episodes earlier.
Patrichio told Sara Emilia wants transportation, food and other things for the miners. Sara said there's no way she'll get approval for this. Leo also promissed to look at this recuest with a magnifying glass because Sara complained to him.
Sara told Mari that it's not convenient for her to be with a guy with no wealth. M mockingly says Sara did everything to be with her brother 'for love' despite him having issues. So please mind your business, Sara. M aalso told E that R is not her mother and that they don't get on.
Emilia asked tigre not to talk to her like this in front of other miners. He talked something about hard rocks. Are they doing that perforacion again or something. He told E he came back to the mine because R put his wife in jail and that he now only wants to do what he knows. E says 'ok, you are in charge here'. Earlier she seemed to disagree with how he wanted to do things.
Saravows to put E in her place. But when E shows up at la patrona's lair, it all fails. Joaquina is asked to serve something for E. Sara says fruit ONLY. E says 'that's to start. Can you make enchiladas de los mineros?'. Joaquina says they are her specialty.
Gigi tells Addled he has to solve the Miriam issue or he won't be elected because people are gossiping he is still involved with her.
Leo acuses E of being rude at the beginning when he caught her and she didn't thank him. She asked him if she should thank him for nearly causing her to fall. Later she said the typixcal 'I should hate you' phrase. I'd like to ask her 'oh but what is there to love about him.'
That is all I was able to remember. E also says they are going to take away their enemies' peace, which made me wonder if her suggestion to modernise won't ruin them. She said they'd be able to pay off the credit (why not prestamo) quickly. R told Leoshe already has an investor.
I have to say I find it irritating how they are trying to make Leo attractive by showing him as this modern man who is trying oh so hard to keep fit. Green juice and running do not a galan make.He reminds me of a youtuber I find hard to watch exactly for this reason:she seems a bit too fake because she does everything oh so properly:green tea, studying, handmade Christmas decorations, prestigious university, running...If green juice and running are all Leo has to offer, the writers really don't think much of women's standards for a galan.

How can Fidel just shut down the restaurant unless he gave Orlando the money to start the restaurant ? I thought it was obvious that Flor fancied Orlando , but maybe he was oblivious. ....A handsome guy who doesn't know he is guaypo.

Sullen , jealous Sara thinks she can intimidate Victoria , who we know will be victorious in the end . Vic will get the guy and the mine. I hope Sara does not end up redeemed and with sweet Danilo.

What is up with Seb and Miriam ? Are they just roommates ?

I think Jo is Roberta's sister , and R hates her because their parents only put Roberta out on the street for money. Does R hate Leo because Jo is his real mother ? Just speculating . I have watched so many telenovelas with these twists and turns.

OT...Great behind the scenes videos of " El Amor No Tiene Receta." I had no idea how many people were BTS to make telenovelas. I think Daniel and Claudia will be great together . She seems so warm and pleasant. Fingers crossed.

Anon207 (I hope I have the right name) posted that Jo was Roberta's sister's name so it seems as though that might be true. I was wondering if Roberta chose to protect Jo from the life but from what you said, only Roberta was forced into it.

I get the impression Seb and Miriam haven't slept together but I might be totally wrong.
