BEST PART: The PSA on domestic violence was excellent. . Women go missing and turning into statistics because nobody CARES. The victim of domestic violence that comes in and wants them to stop the police from arresting her husband because she wasn't a good wife or mother and deserved what he did to her. Great PSA's and not just for women in Mexico.

EVERYTHiNG ELSE:

Dulce is still missing. Manuela remembers her coming to the center a few times but not being able to attend to her. I ask and whose fault was that???

I Iiked Manuela being so involved with Pablo (after his attack) that she forgot all about her supper date with Leandro. Too bad he had to show up at her house and she took him in to meet the family. So, Manuela explained that Ricky was her cousin via her mother's side . Gabriel says he is Manuela's and Ricky's second cousin. Angela (Manuela's mother) looks surprised but chooses not to explain. Are Ricky and Gabriel a couple?

Why in the heck did Manuela ever admit to Julieta that she was going to go and take a look at Lisandro's available apartment if she was not planning on taking it? That seemed pretty stupid to me and creating just another problem with the brat.

Here is hoping now that Amanda has realized that she didn't make a mistake giving Everardo his medicine (as clarified by the nurse and his grandson) and that Everardo set her up to look bad in front of her children, that she is smart enough to tell him where he can go PERMANENTLY.

I also liked Lorena doing her research on Manuela and ending up at the domestic abuse center to see exactly who her competition is.

It was no surprise that Carmina is doing her best to remain in control of the finances at the company and by extension the money in her pocket. I was surprised that she was responsible in getting Pablo to hire the assistant he did and now who was reluctantly acting as her spy. Interesting: Carmina wants to know everything about Pablo including the number that Pablo is making his calls from.

So, the boss has hired Franco to make his business the best it can be. We find out his nickname is "the executioner" because of all the heads that roll after he does his analysis. He seemed to like the way Paloma does her job but she could be more open to criticism and outside input.

Why does it seem that Paloma (yet another single female in novela after novela ) is supporting her mother and father? I get the feeling that her parents don't want her married or in another country because they have gotten used to her making $$$$. IMHO there is something not right with that relationship.

I remember being astonished that Everardo seemed almost to despise his wife. Maybe it's not exactly this and maybe it's typical of abusers but his scenes were hard to watch. What was the whole point of him setting her up here? To make her feel guilty and make her stay? But then who would want someone who'can't give the right pills'? Everardo is an abusive ass but I do wonder about men like him. It's disturbing to see that he actually seems to enjoy makingAmanda suffer. I kind of wonder if he isn't trying to 'make her pay' for something. It's tragic that after managing to get out, which I imagine took a lot of strength, she is now forced to care for him. Did he realise she might run away and so that's why he caused the whole scandal with the pills?
What is this with Paloma not accepting criticism? That boss of hers doesn't provide constructive criticism from what I remember so I do wonder who could help her improve in that job.
Carmina marrying her cousin's husband made me suspicious from the start. And I still can't understand how Pablo threw his teenage son out of the house. I mean, the kid was 15. I have to admit I couldn't forgive him this.

"VENCER LA CULPA":
Waterlily: Is that Manuela Imaz from "Amigas y Rivales" in this Telenovela 🤔 ?

Thanks for clearing up the pill mix-up for me, Jarifa. I wasn’t sure what the nurse and grandson were saying. That would give me a good enough reason to give up taking care of him. He deliberately made her feel at fault. Saying she tried to kill him. I wonder why she feels she has to take care of him. Her daughter treats her like dirt, same as her ex. Her kids telling her they’ll spend more time with her, I really don’t see a positive in that! Her daughter-in-law would always let her see the kids.

So Leandro showed up at her home and she felt obligated to bring him in? I do think she still cares for him, hope she wakes up before he has them in his apartment. She’d then be a “kept” woman!

I hope Lorena and Manuela hit it off and turn the tables on Leandro.

Liz

Culpa #8

Gracias, Jarifa. Sorry I've not been commenting for a few days but I've had a hard time keeping up.

I share Liz's wish that Manuela and Lorena give Leandro what he deserves. Based on the conspiratorial expressions between him and his sperm donor I think Gabriel Soto can reach the appropriate level of evil. This apple is still at the foot of the tree. He will manipulate Julieta into manipulating Manuela.

I hope we continue to see Amanda's adorable little dog. Maria Sorte must love animals; in Soltero Con Hijas she had a nice tomcat.

Carmina is despicable. Pablo needs to divorce her ASAP. She does not love or respect him.

Paloma's boss is a world-class sexist jerk.

What's with the bangs on two of our protagonistas? The 50s are ancient history.

Carlos Ferro looked familiar and I was pleasantly surprised when I realized he was Santiago of Caer en Tentacion, which also had Gabriel Soto who was also in Las Vias del Amor back in the day.

Minas

I know I'm VERY late but I'll get my recap up as promised. Just when it rains, it pours. It'll be up in a few hours. Thanks for your understanding.

VENCER

Jarifa, thank you for the smart, savvy and informative summary.

This episode wasn't available On Demand last night but I hope it's up sometime tomorrow...

"Dulce is still missing. Manuela remembers her coming to the center a few times but not being able to attend to her. I ask and whose fault was that???" is exactly right. Manuela, more than anyone knows what it takes for someone to show up there. I realize her not talking to her wasn't intentional but the result could be catastropic. I hope Dulce is still alive.

Urban, the only reason I know Carlos Ferro is from Caer en Tentacion, which was one of my favorites. Gabe Soto also shone; I think it was one of his best roles. Not sure how much of a villian Gabe is going to be here, but I much prefer him in galan roles.

Niecie, wow, you were right about Everardo setting up Amanda regarding the "medication error". He is just so disgusting and grosss, I cringe every time he is onscreen.

A shame Llendro is going to emulate him..

"MINAS":
Weirdo: Looking forward to seeing your recap of Friday night's episode.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 58, Viernes, 24 de Noviembre, 2023

Part 1/2

Victoria promises to Tigre that no one will hurt him or anyone else here. "You might not know me, but my eyes don't lie", she says.

Míriam urges Seb to go find Nicolás and to have a nice relationship with him like he used to. He says he doesn't want to cause problems and Míriam insists he should fight for him.

Roberta asks Fidel for money to "modernize" the mine. He says he needs money too and tells her to ask Leo. She replies that it's a lot of money and he's the real help. She tries to convince him to give her the money by saying something about him being a bigger politician.

Orlando is awkward. Flor says she's sorry and she knows about Jenny. She says she (Flor) doesn't deserve him. Orlando tells her she deserves someone wonderful. Flor thanks him and they almost kiss...

Leo is being extra annoying by telling Seb that he can't work here after what happened. Seb says to name it: after he (Leo) betrayed Emi. "It's your fault she's dead", he adds.

Fidel doesn't look too keen on giving the money, even though things look promising. Rob says she has always helped him and Fidel asks her when she is going to stop telling him this. Rob replies "until you help me". Fidel asks her if she killed Ignacio. Roberta admits it and adds that he benefitted from his death as well. Vic/Emi was listening to the last part...

Leo claims it's not his fault Emi's dead but Seb quickly reminds him that he cheated on her with Sara. Leo then does THE most annoying thing of the episode, he says they shouldn't mention Emilia when they're here. Said gal is having a nervous breakdown, witnessed by both of them.

Flor's mom apparently has cancer. Orlando says she can work at their restaurant ("still" work, I guess, since she's already working there). Flor hugs him and after he leaves says he's an angel and his father and she don't deserve him.

Rob manipulates Fidel FF--> Oh and then sends him somewhere.

Victoria says she's okay and it was something personal shw freaked out about. She and Seb leave to talk about business and Fidel arrives to where Leo is standing. Leo tells him pretty much to get away from his mother (LOL) and to leave and Fidel mentions some solutions for the mine and La Patrona having to make him leave or something?

Tigre is sceptical about Victoria; he claims she can't be that good; what if she's another Roberta? Gael, who knows the truth, of course defends her.

Never mind, this is the most ridiculous moment of the episode; Leo TALKS TO HIS MOTHER ABOUT FIDEL. He wants him to leave. Like Roberta will ever agree.

Addled wants help with some problems he has and asks Sara for help. She says she'll help him only if he helps her sent Victoria away. Addled agrees!

Gigí talka about Jenny's pregnancy problem to Zaira and asks for help. Zaira asks her if she stopped hanging out with Roberta. Well, no. She tries to leave but almost faints. Zaira asks her if she's okay and Gigí opens up to her and tells her she's sure Addled wants to kill her because she humiliated him!

Vic and Seb talk about work stuff. Tigre comes and Seb says they miss Emilia. Vic/Emi leaves awkwardly.

More work stuff about some papers that need to be signed. Lolita, the secretary, tells him Victoria is pretty, smart and overall a blessing. After she leaves, Leo closes his eyes and thinks back to a scene with Victoria. He smiles.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 58, Viernes, 24 de Noviembre, 2023

Part 2/2

That's weird. Gigí says she likes to help people because she used to be poor too. I thought she was the rich one, not Addled? She wants to be the presidenta municipal. Zaira says she believes her.

I assume Addled has explained his plan off-camera, because Sara says she thought he talked about Victoria, not her mom! He basically wants her to take Gigi's place as a presidente municipal candidate. She asks if she can make decisions about the mine and he says of course. She has doubts at some point but then smiles and says gracias, so I'm pretty sure she'll do it.

Emi has told Al about Rob killing Ig. Al says she can't believe it (why?) We get the usual "you have to have patience" dialogue. Emi says she will get back everything they took away from her. Al agrees and tells her not to fall in her own trap.

Some random miner talks to Marijó. She low-key flirts with him just to annoy Gael. Later, Gael tells his father that he won't give up, I think.

Dan and Sara bump into each other in the company because Dan needs some paper Sara has. Dan has a lovestruck look on his face, which doesn't go unnoticed by Aleida.

Emi remembers some scenes with Ig and cries. She says she'll take revenge blah blah and she leaves the room, falling on Leo, who sees her crying and asks her if she's okay. She says she's sorry.

Seb has beef with Patricio because he suspects him (rightfully) for half a dosen things; his fake signature, Salvador's death, the odd stuff in Emi and Leo's rescue and Emi being accused of Mau's death.

There was some school scene I didn't catch.

Sara tells Dan to come to her office after talking about her husband. Dan sees Al looking at him.

The teacher asks the kids who caused some sort of problem that made her lose 2,000 pesos. Nic says it was some classmate of his and tells the teacher to look inside his backpack. She does and finds her keys. Nic also has recorded the other student talking about the "prank". After this guy and the teacher leave, Nic screams, in a so Roberta-ish way that it's a bit creepy, that this is what happens when they mess with him? Something similar. The other kids say "yes patroncito". Uh oh.

Leo says she can count on him (oh the irony). Victoria tells him it's something personal. Al comes and says she wants to talk to her. Leo leaves.

Seb finds the previous mine being closed because they bankrupted odd. Patricio makes excuses.

Dan tries to seduce Sara. At the end, he fails and Seb walks in.

Al tells Emi to forget about Leo. She says she's acting; she'll make him fall in love with her and then when he won't be able to live without her, she will cause him and Sara to suffer.

And on that note, we have the Fin del Capítulo.

El Maleficio

Will there be any recaps or discussion pages for EM?

EL Maleficio

Victoria, I think it is too early to know.

Minas
Weirdo
, thank you so much.
that scene at school was a bit weird to me. I'm not sure now, but didn'tone of the boys bring the teacher's car keys back? If Nico spent so much time living in Mexico, why is he so nasty? It feels as if he had grown up with Roberta.
I wanted to skip the scene where Leo was comforting E. I was thinking surely she'd come to her senses when he told her she can trust him. Whenever he tries saying this phrase, his voice should turn into a croak. Leo seemed angry Seb brought up what happened to E. Well, as far as I'm concerned, Sebas could have a go at him in every episode. Even Fidel doesn't think much of Leo. He told him to go and tell it to la patrona when Leo started going on about how Fidel couldn't be trusted or something along those lines. In every episode it seems to get worse and worse. And are they really going to redeem Sara? Why? It appears she will betray her own mother.
I wonder what Orlando will do once he finds out Flor works at the restaurant because his papa put her there.

minas

Weirdo, thank you for that great account of everything that happened . I saw a few photos. Seems like more of the same , and we are just going around and around until the HEAs and the anvils are passed out .

It sure looks like the writers plan to redeem nasty , selfish Sara and give her handsome Dan on a silver platter. ugh. I like Dan. He has been a faithful friend to both Em and Aleida. I want Al and Dan together....two good souls who deserve some happiness .

I have never bought Livia as a beautiful good soul whom all the hombres fall deeply in love with.

The writers also seem to have put conniving Miriam on the road to redemption headed straight toward sweet, unfailingly loyal Seb. Boo again .

Orlando should end up with Flor instead of insipid Jenny who does nothing but whine and whimper. JMHO. .......Susan

MINAS

Weirdo, thank you for your excellent recap which explained so much I didn’t understand. I just managed to watch this On Demand.

So many wonderful lines with “Leo says she can count on him (oh the irony)” a prime example that had me smiling away.

I was shocked Fidel didn’t know Roberta killed Ignacio! Was I the only one?

Yes, Leo was rather pitiful warning Fidel away from mommy not so dearest.

I fear Sebas is going to end up with Miriam Susan…he loves her son and think in time, he will learn to love her as well.

The scene where Victoria freaked out with Leo and Sebas watching was a bit of an eye opener. I was surprised neither moved toward her to console her. Evidently neither is feeling any sort of inkling that Victoria IS Emilia. What is equally shocking is that Tigre isn’t either, despite his initial feelings when he first saw Victoria. Only Gael felt the call of the blood.

Orlando had a very difficult time pulling back from the almost kiss with Flor. Jenny should be worried. And yes Waterlily, great question about how Orlando will react when he finds out Fidel planted Flor to spy on him.

How is it up to Addled to have any control whatsoever over what transpires in the mines?? Roberta rules, absolutely. He is promising Sara something he likely won’t be able to deliver.

Sara is resisting Danilo with strong willpower. Aleida is certainly enlightened. Victoria is likely right in that Leo will fall for her eventually as he is so weak willed and easily manipulated.

I will do a recap tonight.

Diana

Minas

Diana, just wait until Orlando finds out that his father put his mother into that awful manicomia!!!

So strange that her father and the two guys who are madly in love with Em do not realize that Victoria is Em. Reminds me of " Amor Invencible" , but in that show hopeless!y devoted David knew Leona was Mar while first love Gael only felt anl odd inkling. And now, like Leona, Em wants the guy who wronged her to fall for her to get revenge .ho hum Susan

MINAS

Susan, as terrible as Roberta has been she has truly found her heinous sould mate in Fidel.

The cruelty of robbing Aleida of her life, and her child, and putting her into a manicomio no less is chilling!

Yes, Orlando is going to be unstoppable in his fury. I can't wait.

Diana

Vencer

Gracias, Jarifa. Late to the party. You covered everything I needed to know.

It's a shame Manuela wasn't able to see Dulce when she came for help, but realistic. No doubt there's just not enough hands to help all who come on any given day.

I'm taken aback that Paloma's parents might be moochers. They seem loving.
