Futbol tonight——-at least where I am…..so no Vuelve tonight…….and of course it’s my “free” night, sigh…….
Took some notes on last night's epi but too busy to write anything until now (8:40 Pacific Time)
Santi was excellent caring for Nuria, even sleeping on the couch so as not to bump her bad arm.
When Liana and Braulio snipe at each other we can see the worst of each of them. But he does know her well and strongly suspected she pushed Nuria off the ladder. He keeps up his old song about her killing her parents. If she had any sense she'd see a shrink and get over it.
Rosalia tells Eugenia about having left her abusive husband because he was about to hit the boy (don't remember them saying this before, but it seems like he died earlier). Euge behaves badly for a while, but then realizes her mother was right. I'd bet the farm this guy shows up.
Juanito tells Martha and Aida that his dad doesn't love him. Aida gets it right away, while Martha tries to make excuses for Braulio and then looks worried.
Juanito tells Chela he's dying. Later it looks like Fausto brings antibiotics. Then he lifts him up. Doesn't look good, but I think Jacinto is kind of a central character and will make it.
Chalo rags on Santi some more and has suggested to Nuria that she sue Grupo Zepeda. So sick of this guy and his cut-off sleeves.
Diego and Amalia come to Ciudad Juárez. Sadly, when they go to the police station, the one at the front is Crooked Captain. Why in the hell is he doing that if he's a big cheese?
Liana comes to see Nuria, mostly to find out if Nuria saw her push and/or grab her leg. Nope. But Nuria is onto her wanting Santi and doesn't look happy to see her.
We see Tigre's auntie in some sort of old folks' place. She's in a wheelchair and is a nasty piece of work. Looks like she's the one who's been dripping poison in Tigre's ear. I have a hunch she made that story up to cover her own hindquarters.
Braulio shows petty jealousy over the good time Santi is having with Juanito. Santi tells Braulio that he definitely is going to be involved in the production of GZ products.
Rai outright asks his daughter (can't remember her name) if she's gay. We don't see her answer but I sure wish she'd tell the truth.
Thanks, dondi. Really enjoyed the recap and it definitely cleared up a few things for me.
I didn't see the phone leave the table, nor Omer either. But Ilgaz is probably right about how it happened.
I love Tugce and Metin putting their heads together.
I got a kick out of your comment about Yekta's "principles" = "principally self-preservation".
Oh boy, I thought that knife that Ceylin grabbed was going to be the one covered with blood while Eren bangs on her office door. Probably the writers wanted me to go there. But she threw it away.
Turgut Ali is all in on Ilgaz's guilt. Surely this won't be another head fake like the one before where he ended up speaking before the press praising Ilgaz.
Metin was excellent in the scene with Cinar. He's all over forgiving him everything like he did when he was guilty about thinking Cinar took after his grandfather. He told him off, but with love.
Yes, every time Rafet is in a room with Our Team they can hardly wait for him to leave.
I'm thinking those CNC machines are probably legal and used maybe for mass signing of employee paychecks or something like that. I wonder if the cable Yekta found was to connect that machine. And it's now been taken away by Eyup. Pretty sneaky. He comes with a box and leaves with a box. Assume whatever was in there when he arrived is stashed somewhere and the CNC machine is in the one he left with.
Again, thanks for such a comprehensive recap, dondi. The end is in sight.
Novelera, thank you for the recap. This show is starting to bubble . There are enough good souls to balance the evil.
Santi was caring and solicitors of Nuria. William is doing a goid job of being a strong , silent galan. Of course, the wicked queen has to show up at Snow White's cottage.
I hope the writers don't kill off Jacinto . Weepy Chelo doesn't deserve this guy , but I don't want evil to triumph and have this good guy gone and Fausto still around.
Diego is another good soul, so at least the bad is not out weighing the good so far.
I have had enough of Chalo posturing and grumbling.
Thank you, dondi356 and novelera.
Yekta is doing his own investigation and he is getting some interesting information - CNC machine receipt and the dangling cable, Omer's mother who is alive. He said he was going to help Ceylin. Maybe he is serious.
Good point about the money, novelera. It is one thing to forge a signature, install an app on the phone. But to come up with a lot of money to transfer up and down the banking system is too much.
Thanks so much for your recap novelera! Want is proving to be a stellar novio so far —aside from telling Nuria the whole truth…. Nuria could use a dose of that truth serum herself, but I think that Santi carry’s that burden more……
Braulio and Lianna are definitely a pair cut from the same cloth…neurotic and psychotic, jealous and petty and lethal in their intentions. Only difference, it seems is that Lianna does her own dirty work while Braulio uses Tigre for it…
Chalo is most annoying….why would he think that any woman, besides Eugenia would want to deal with his obvious childishness. Hair, shirts and behavior can all take a long walk off a short cliff…..a boy only a mother could love…..
Same with Martha…..Braulio is a boy only a mother could love. Andres/Juan is much more mature…..
I’m really liking the Diego/Amelia storyline. May Braulio show his true colors, again and soon!
Lianna really is a piece of work going to Nuria with the offer of “friendship.” I guess that’s how the psychotic mind works, and I’m glad Nuria told her in a diplomatic way “NAH!”
Tigre’s aunt looks like a demented evil witch, and why is she in a nursing home and not living with Tigre? I mean, he’s such a good murderous son/ nephew right???
ITA about the Captain. Shouldn’t he be in an office somewhere doing more important stuff? And if Jacinto dies, doesn’t he have an obligation to arrest a cop killer? I really don’t get what his loyalty is to Fausto? He’s a disgrace to his uniform…. I hope Jacinto doesn’t die, but things certainly ain’t looking up……
Ray’s daughter is Carmen……he calls her Carmencita some of the time…….
Yekta enters Esin’s room. It’s Yekta, don’t you remember me? Attorney Yekta Tilmen. No reaction from Esin. He continues, we worked together at the office in Mecidiyekoy. I didn’t know you were here. Omer said I could visit. Omer asked me to come. Omer… our son.
Esin speaks. Omer… Yes, Yekta says, our son, Omer. The son we had together. Omer is dead, she says. Yekta is stunned. What did you say? Esin says, my son is dead. She asks, who are you? Yekta looks sick.
Derya is taking Eren to task. How could you let that happen? How could you let Yekta manipulate you? What could we have done, he replies. Our hearts were in our mouths. Fear makes a person do anything. That bastard lied to us and tricked us because we couldn’t find the hitman. It was terrible, Metin adds.
Merdan says this isn’t the time to point fingers. What’s done is done. Let’s figure out what to do and how to get out of this. I don’t think Yekta planted the relic here. Let’s forget about that. Metin wonders, then why did Yekta go upstairs with that stupid son of his? Ceylin said they left them alone in the living room. Merdan says they aren’t the kind to do that sort of thing. They find someone else to do the dirty work.
Eren wonders if it was Eyup. He was the only other person who visited. Metin tells them Eyup has disappeared. Ceylin comes home and by the looks of everyone she asks what’s wrong. Eren says they were just wondering if Eyup left the relic in the house.
Merdan says he will take care of Eyup—I’ll find him. Metin says let’s find out where the truck with the relics went. And Metin wants to meet with Lacin. Ceylin says she’s going to visit Ilgaz and asks Metin to let her know what Lacin says.
Yekta stumbles out of the care center. He’s all shook up.
Ceylin gets clean clothes ready to take to Ilgaz.
Metin meets with Lacin at a restaurant. She tells Metin after Ilgaz left, she listened closely to what Hilmi said. They didn’t say anything about accounts, instructions, foreign currency, cryptocurrency. It was average man talk, politics, football. What about Omer, Metin asks. They weren’t alone, Lacin replies, if they spoke about anything privately, it would have stood out to me. I’m always watching them now.
Metin realizes that Lacin is putting herself in danger, but he asks for just one more favor. I won’t be offended if you don’t agree, he says. He wants her to plant a microphone. If you put it someplace Omer can’t see it, it would be very useful.
Lacin hesitates, then says, I was instrumental in bringing that young man here. Yekta got a woman pregnant. But something inside tells me it was a mistake [now you realize?] Metin thinks she’s not going to agree to it, but Lacin grabs the bug before Metin can take it back. If this will help Ilgaz get out of jail, I’ll help you. Metin is thankful.
Yekta surprises Ceylin as she leaves the house. What are you doing here?! Yekta tells her he checked Omer’s expenses. He shows her the receipt for the CNC machine and says Omer forged Ilgaz’s signature. Omer charged the machine to the firm.
He’ll say he bought it for the company, Ceylin replies, it doesn’t prove anything. No, Yekta answers, but if he uploaded a copy of the signature, there may be a trace of it. Talk AG Turgut into searching the office. If he hasn’t destroyed the machine yet, we have to get it. She asks, why didn’t you tell me this before?
Omer is like a black hole, Yekta says, powerful enough to swallow us all. He drops the bomb—Omer’s mother is alive. Ceylin is surprised. He said she was dead. She’s not, Yekta replies, I saw her, I spoke to her. She’s not well, but Omer said she was dead. We recently found out he has a brother who took off after the mother’s funeral. He’s insane! Ceylin remembers Omer saying he never met his brother. Yekta thinks this confirms Omer is a psychopath.
Yekta continues, he says his mother is dead and brother is alive. His mother is alive and says that Omer is dead! He probably isn’t my son. I brought him into my house and my office. I took him in! I gave him enough power to destroy me! I created a monster with my own hands, Ceylin!
Yekta is very upset. He regains his composure and says, I’ll figure him out. He won’t get away from me. I’ll do something worthy of my name. I’ll get you the evidence that will save Ilgaz. I’ll do it so I can be rid of Omer. He hurries off.
Cinar explains the situation to the Erguvans. Gul says this is strange. Everyone knows Ilgaz would never do something like this. You saw him at the airport [when Parla tried to escape]. He spoke of law and order. Don’t take this wrong, but he didn’t help us despite being family. Osman says Ilgaz is being slandered. How did this happen? Gul thinks Ceylin must be heartbroken.
Tugce stays positive. Nothing gets past Ilgaz. He’s probably thinking of a plan. He’ll prove the accusations are lies. Eren is on the case, and nothing will stop Ceylin. Cinar gets up to go. Gul says to let her know if there’s anything she can do to help.
Tugce and Merve get ready to leave with Cinar. Cinar makes a preemptive admission to Tugce about his big mistake with Eyup. I was wrong, I was fooled again. Let’s turn the page, okay? Sorry, that’s not going to make this go away, Tugce replies, you were wrong. What did your friend do? We were in danger, and he planted a relic at the house!
Merve speaks up. What’s done is done. Now we’ll do whatever it takes and give Ilgaz our full support. Cinar agrees. He asks the girls to come by the pool hall tomorrow. We can try to track Eyup down. He’s the key to this. They agree. [lol, remember what happened the last time they tried to track someone down? These people never learn.] The girls leave.
Cinar and Parla hug goodbye. They make heart signs to each other before Cinar heads to his car. [Sorry, I just can’t ship this couple.] He notices seed shells at the corner and thinks Eyup must have been there. He looks around and sees nothing.
Ilcey get special treatment. They have dinner together in Ilgaz’s cell. She says she’s going to talk to Turgut and that annoying DA from Bakirkoy about a search warrant. They’d have reasons to want one, Ilgaz says, but they think I took a bribe. I don’t get it. Ceylin asks if he’s referring to Turgut. Ilgaz says yes.
Ceylin thinks Turgut is trying to be objective, but he seemed easily won over. Ilgaz replies, as a DA, I’d be convinced by that evidence. Ceylin says, let him issue the search warrant, let him question Omer, and then he’ll finally believe. Ilgaz thinks that’s irrelevant. Omer was always with Yekta and Hilmi. Ceylin notes that Omer bought the machine. He’ll say he didn’t buy it with ill intent, but it will make him suspect.
Ilgaz asks, you don’t think Yekta took part in this game? You believe Omer and Hilmi planned everything? Oh, come on. That’s what Yekta said, Ceylin replies, I’ve never seen Yekta this anxious or agitated before. I choose to believe him [A cold day in Hell? Flying pigs?]
You were allowed in here, Ilgaz says, but what if I weren’t a DA? You are a DA and you always will be, Ceylin replies. I am, Ilgaz answers, but what would you do if you weren’t allowed in here? Ceylin’s simple solution—I’d argue with whoever and land myself in a cell. Ilgaz can believe that. He says, no one in their right mind would mess with Ceylin Erguvan Kaya. No, she clarifies, no one would take me from my loved ones.
Eren is trying to stay awake while watching footage to find the relic truck. He puts his head down on the desk. Derya shows up. This isn’t good, she says. Eren snaps to attention—AG Pars! DA, I’m sorry… bad dream. Derya understands. She sits with him. He asks why she isn’t home and resting. I can’t sleep, she says, there’s no sense in forcing it.
Are you hungry, Eren asks, would you like to order food? Durum, köfte, tost, çorba… At this hour, Derya asks. Yep, what’s wrong with that, Eren replies. We were always eating, the AG… he catches himself. Sorry, I always had meals with him.
Derya wants to hear. Tell me Eren, what did you do with Pars? We were always eating, he laughs. When you work late, you have whatever you can find… durum, köfte, shirdan, whatever. And you know he didn’t like any of those things, but he ate them out of necessity. I loved it when he didn’t like the food available. He’d get annoyed and say, “Eren, this is so delicious that it’s a shame to eat it.”
I’m sure he lectured you, Derya says. Of course, Eren replies, and not just any lecture. “We’re not growing crops here, use your head and think, Eren!” “My dear friend, beautiful person, and witness Eren.” He gets emotional and so does Derya. I miss him so much, she says. She starts to cry and Eren pulls her onto his shoulder. Cry, he tells her, cry so your troubles flow out with your tears.
Omer meets Eyup in some random secluded place. Why are we here, the evil robot asks. Eyup begins, you asked me to infiltrate that family and I did. You asked me to plant evidence in their home. We see that in a flashback. Eyup uses the key he took from the register and places the relic on the shelf.
Eyup continues, I burned the machine. I only asked for one thing in return. I asked you to hand me my brother’s killer. When do I get Parla? What are you going to do? That’s easy, Omer replies, we’re close. Eyup is pissed. Don’t start with that again, my patience is running out. Omer is unfazed. You have to wait. Besides, you’re being very rude to me. Did you forget I got you out of prison? Omer walks away.
Ceylin has her head in Ilgaz’s lap. There’s something I have to tell you, she says, it’s more of a confession. Should I worry, he asks. [lol] She sits up. Listen to the end before you say anything, okay? I’m listening, he replies. She says, first, you need to know that I don’t want secrets between us. He asks again, should I worry?
Ceylin says, when Ozge killed Kesik… she spoke to me first. I was going to see Pars, but we ran into each other first. Before you say anything, please listen to the end. I know I made a mistake, but you can reprimand me later. She found out Kesik was the son of a mobster, and she was scared so she asked for my help. What kind of help, Ilgaz asks. We found the body in the cemetery, Ceylin replies, and I buried it with Osman’s help.
Ilgaz is incredulous—you did what? Ceylin answers, I know what I did was terrible, I tampered with evidence. I know I shouldn’t have done it, I could lose my job, but it made sense at the time. I figured that since he was dead, no one would find out.
Ilgaz gets up from the bench. Ceylin follows, it made sense at the time, but then you found him. She begins to repeat herself. Ozge was scared, it made sense. There was so much going on, she says in her defense, and I didn’t want Ozge to go to prison. I know what I did was stupid! [and a crime!]
She asks Ilgaz if he’s angry. [Lol] Of course he is. I can’t believe you’d do that after all we’ve been through, he says. Remember our deal, she asks, about being a lawyer and a DA? He shuts that down. Please! You can’t make a mistake and hide behind that excuse. You’re right, she replies, you’re right to be angry and I’m very sorry.
At least you didn’t keep it secret, Ilgaz snarks, that’s a big improvement. You’re a brave woman with a huge heart but you’re also crazy. Ceylin hugs him from behind and rests her head on his back. She has the nerve to ask, do you forgive me? Not yet, he replies, we’ll talk more when I get out tomorrow.
Ilcey fall asleep in the cell. [she’s allowed to stay overnight?] Omer appears and they wake up. Ilgaz demands to know—what are you doing here? What the hell are you doing here? Omer says nothing, he just stares. Ilgaz calls for the guard. Omer turns and walks away. Ilgaz calls him back. Omer leaves. [That was weird. Was it real or a dream?]
In the morning, Ilgaz gets ready to appear before the judge.
Ceylin arrives at the courthouse. Yekta arrives at the same time. He tells her he went to Gemlik last night, the place where the “psychopath” grew up. Omer’s brother allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor, but no one believes it was a suicide. The police ruled that out and they have some very important unanswered questions. Yekta theorizes, I think this Omer killed his brother, the real Omer.
I’m glad you figured that out, Ceylin says, but that only speaks to his previous crimes. That won’t get Ilgaz out of prison. Yes, Yekta replies, but we can use this to corner him. She tells him she has to go, Ilgaz is seeing the judge. She also tells Yekta to pull himself together and take a shower [lol]. He calls after her, you’re making a mistake. You’ll regret not working with me on this.
Turgut and Ozcan speak with the judge. The judge says, we can’t rule out that Ilgaz is being set up. He used his personal phone, they met in his home. If he had done something illegal, I doubt he’d leave so much evidence behind. We don’t have much evidence against him and it’s highly suspicious that it was reported.
He’s also smart, Turgut says, maybe he did it on purpose to seem innocent. That can’t be ruled out either. Okay, the judge replies, but we all know him. We know where he lives and he’s not a flight risk. Ozcan agrees, but… I’m afraid that if he were anyone else, he’d be remanded into custody. Will you let people say he received special treatment because he’s a DA? The men trade looks.
Ozcan tells the judge he should remand Ilgaz. We run the risk of him tampering with evidence. Turgut says all law enforcement agencies worked to protect Ilgaz after he was threatened. Even the governor was supportive. Sadly, he was watching out for his own interests. If he manages to free himself and get away, like Hilmi Yozba, his alleged partner, we’ll be humiliated. We could even be seen as criminal accomplices. The judge considers this.
Ceylin meets up with Derya in the hallway. Derya says that Turgut and Ozcan were together. Be prepared. There’s a chance that Ilgaz will be remanded into custody. Ceylin realizes that’s a possibility.
Eren brings Omer to see Ilgaz in holding. I ran into him on my way to court, Eren says. He’s curious about your hearing. I couldn’t help but wonder why he was here so early. I figured he’d like to talk to you like a normal person. Eren throws Omer against the bars and Ilgaz grabs hold of him.
What do you want from me, Ilgaz asks. Be a man and say it. You set me up, didn’t you? You took my phone on the night I went to your house. You downloaded the app. Omer denies it. Who’s going to believe that, Ilgaz asks, do you believe him Eren? He doesn’t.
Omer says, this is wrong, let me go. Ilgaz grabs Omer around the neck and pulls him closer. Listen, kiddo… I’ll be going before the judge soon. As soon as I’m released, I’m coming for you. Understood? I’ll find out what you’re up to and make you pay for all you’ve done. You’ll never come near Ceylin or me again. We’ll never breathe the same air again. You can plan all you want, you’re going to lose.
Ilgaz throws Omer to the floor. Omer gets up, puts his glasses back on and walks out without a word.
Aylin wakes Parla. It’s noon and you have a test! Get up! Parla complains and gets up. Aylin straightens up her bed. She finds seed shells under a pillow. What’s this?
Turgut and Ozcan return to the AG office and find Ceylin and Derya waiting in the hallway. Ceylin says she has reason to believe that Omer Tilmen is involved in this conspiracy. Allow me to explain my case. I ask that Omer Tilmen be questioned and that you search his home and office. Turgut replies, Ilgaz will see the judge first and then we’ll talk. The men enter the office.
Where do you think they came from, Ceylin asks Derya. I hope they didn’t pressure the judge to rule their way.
Omer enters the Istanbul Bar Association.
Ilcey stand before the judge. Ceylin starts, my client took the initiative to find the hitman. As a result, the hitman and other members of the criminal organization were captured. Meanwhile, a smear campaign has been launched. False evidence, designed to fool authorities and ruin my client’s reputation, was planted. My client has not accepted any bribes and is not part of a smuggling ring. Therefore, we rebuff all charges filed against him, Your Honor.
This is a clear example of slander, Ceylin notes. Please don’t participate in this. You know him well. There’s no reason for him to remain in custody. I ask that my client be kept under supervised release.
Unfortunately, the judge says, given the evidence presented and the rank your client holds, there’s a risk he’ll tamper with the evidence. Therefore… I’m in favor of remanding him into custody. Ilgaz speaks up… please, Your Honor… please…
And we are out.
Thank you, dondi356.
Yes, when Cinar said they were going to track Eyup down, the adventure with Serdar immediately came to mind.
With all that's going on, Ilgaz will not be upset with Ceylin for long about her confession. Good timing, Ceylin.
Yekta is finding interesting information about Omer. For now, what is clear is that Omer is lying about his past. There may be something dark and disturbing about the truth.
Thanks so much, dondi, for another of your recaps that constantly call my attention to what I either missed entirely or missed the significance of.
I was kind of struck by Yekta thinking right away that the real Omer had died. I guess I would have thought the woman was suffering from dementia. And, if the real Omer died, then how did the DNA test show him as Yekta's spawn? Well, I guess there's a recap in our future to explain how.
I like Ilgaz's brain trust. He's lucky in his family AND his friends (well, maybe with the exception of his wife at times),
Ceylin irons! Whodathunkit.
I hope that Lacin can plant that mike and it gets some evidence. It's pretty clear that, having found those photos in Omer's room, she's not on his side much anymore.
Ceylin: "I chose to believe him." Yep, when we see cold, flying pigs in hell.
So we got a big reveal about Omer getting Eyup out of prison. More stuff about Omer being an amazing criminal mastermind. How could he know about Eyup being related to Serdar? I choose to believe Serdar was a blood brother. Maybe that was a standard Turkish prison haircut that was so weird looking to me. And now it seems to be growing out a bit.
It was infuriating watching that creep Ozcan working Turgut and the judge to prevent Ilgaz getting house arrest.
I didn't remember those shells under Parla's pillow. Whaaat? Could Eyup have gotten into the Erguvan house somehow?
Thanks again, dondi!!!

The police go to the apartment house to notify Angustias and Chalo that they believe Esme is dead…….they were just celebrating the impending marriage of Rosa and Ray and Angustias has a full blown meltdown…..
Somewhere back in another scene Lianna is plotting after hearing about the plans for Santi’s birthday party……….
Quote for Turkish ep #60: “"What makes love real is struggle, you can't leave your loved ones in the hands of fate." - Tolstoy
Omer goes to the Bar Association and reports Ceylin and Osman for burying Kesik. In addition, he says that Ceylin represented the killer, Ozge Isik, and Ozge covered for Ceylin by saying she acted alone. He says, a complaint will be filed with the DA’s Office, so they investigate the case. If Ceylin tampered with evidence, she should be disbarred.
The officer (president of the Bar?) replies, this is a very serious accusation. Yes, it’s very serious, Omer says, that’s why I ask that you process this request immediately.
The gendarmes take Ilgaz out to the transport van. Metin, Eren and Derya are waiting outside. Ceylin runs to Ilgaz before he goes to the van and tells him, I’ll find a way, don’t worry. I’ll find the evidence and get you out. I’ll appeal the ruling. I know you’re doing your best, he says, we’ll go through this final test and then it will end. We’re going to win. Ilgaz looks so sad as he heads to the van.
Eren makes an appeal to Turgut—is this necessary? Turgut gives an okay with a nod. Eren rushes over to Ilgaz and says the AG gave orders to go by car. Unfortunately, Eren can’t go with him.
Reporters crowd around with questions for Ceylin. Did your husband accept a bribe? Eren rescues Ceylin from the press. The reporters run over to Turgut. Is DA Ilgaz under arrest? Are you keeping him in custody? Just months ago you called them honorable men. You held a press conference and spoke highly of DA Ilgaz and others. What changed? Turgut turns and walks back inside the courthouse without answering.
That leaves DA Ozcan to answer. Uh… the case is sealed, and I can’t go into details. I will say one thing, the law works for all citizens, and it favors no one. It hands out fair sentences. Those who break the law, even if they are DAs, will be punished. Thomas Fuller said, “no matter how high we are in life, the law is higher than all of us”. That’s all, thank you.
Derya chases down Turgut in the hall. Isn’t this a rushed decision? After all, this man you sent to prison is a DA. A DA with a spotless record who does his job very well. I don’t answer such questions, Turgut replies, the judge made a ruling. Question him.
Eren and Ceylin drive alongside the car taking Ilgaz to prison.
Ozcan comes to see Turgut. He notes, this case is going to be highly discussed by the public. It will cause much indignation. I’d like to finish writing the indictment as soon as possible. I haven’t had the time to give the case the attention it deserves. I’d like to use Ilgaz’ office. I’ll stay until the investigation is over and I’ll prepare the indictment. Since we are working together, we should work close by. Turgut agrees.
Turgut has one question for Ozcan. Why do I get the feeling you’re getting some sort of pleasure out of this situation? This weirdo answers, have you ever watched a carpet cleaning video? Turgut hasn’t. Ozcan says, the removal of the dirt… the mud that runs off… when the carpet is lifted, the dirt disappears. I’ve always enjoyed the feeling of cleanliness. [wow, Ozcan's getting off on this. And it looks like Turgut is trying not to laugh.]
Metin returns home and Merdan asks, where’s Ilgaz? My son is a great DA, Metin says, he was taken away, he’s devastated. We’ll have to wait. Metin paces. Merdan asks, is there anything we can do? There is something, Metin replies. Igor is in the same prison as Ilgaz. Merdan blows up, Was that done on purpose? Was he sent to his death?!
No, Metin assures, they won’t be in contact. They won’t be near each other. But we know what those men are like. They’re murderers. Maybe we should take precautions to protect Ilgaz. We could have someone inside watch him and keep him safe. Merdan says he will handle it. Metin tells his father—I never said anything and you didn’t hear anything.
The cars arrive at the prison gate. Ilgaz and Ceylin get out. She says, I’ll come to see you every day. You won’t be here for long. I’m fine, he tells her, and I’ll be better soon. But I would like to see you every day. Ilgaz turns to Eren, I need the file of the Beylikduzu warehouse case. Mine was seized.
Eren says they’ll undo this mistake. Ilgaz gives him a hug. Ceylin gets an “I love you.” She gives it right back and they hug tightly. She cries. Ilgaz gets back in the car and the prison gates close behind.
Ceylin tells Eren she’s going to accept Yekta’s offer to work together. Eren is against it, he doesn’t trust Yekta. Yekta is just as confused as we are, Ceylin replies, he wants to catch him.
Eren is not convinced. They argue. Ceylin cries over Ilgaz’s situation. He’s in prison! What should I do? I know Yekta is scum of the Earth. I’m making a deal with the devil. But the longer we’re here, the longer Ilgaz is behind bars. He’s the last person in the world who deserves this. I won’t abandon Ilgaz.
Eren would rather they work together and leave Yekta out of it. What if Yekta is telling the truth, Ceylin asks, what if Omer is the one pulling the strings? If we prove that, we get Ilgaz out. Yekta is terrified of Omer. Eren says, if Omer did it, then let’s prove it. Ceylin’s heard enough. She’s going to do things her way.
Ignoring Eren’s pleas to wait, Ceylin gets on a bus. She calls Yekta and tells him Ilgaz was arrested and he’s in prison. Wow, Yekta replies, not even the DAs were able to save Ilgaz. I accept, Ceylin says, we can work together. Let’s meet in my office in 40 minutes.
Yekta enters his office and is startled when he sees Omer there. Are you scared, Omer asks. Yekta admits it. Well… when you show up out of nowhere… Omer gathers his father in for a hug. Don’t be scared, he says.
Yekta looks frozen in fear. I won’t hurt you, Omer assures him. Yekta gives an anxious laugh, who’d be scared of their own child? Omer asks, where are you going? I have errands to run, Yekta nervously replies, we’ll talk later. He hurries out, giving Omer reason to be suspicious.
Ilgaz is processed. Ceylin cries on the bus.
Derya meets Metin in Eren’s office. She tells him she’s sorry and doesn’t know what to say. Are you here to talk to Eren? They both can’t make sense of what has happened to Ilgaz.
Eren returns to his office. He says that Ilgaz is fine. He’s waiting for things to work out. Derya is eager to get to work and get Ilgaz out. Where’s Ceylin? Eren is too ticked to answer.
Ceylin is greeted by Aylin as soon as she walks through the office door. That piece of garbage Yekta is here and talking nonstop nonsense. Ceylin knows. Yekta stands to greet Ceylin. I think you’ve made the hardest and best decision of your life. Congratulations! I knew you were smart. I did it out of necessity, she replies. So what do we do?
We will combine our ingenuity and skills, Yekta says. We’ll corner Omer and make him confess. Omer will go to prison and Ilgaz will be saved. You’ll get your husband back and I’ll get my life back. How is that going to happen, Ceylin asks.
I don’t think that guy is Omer, Yekta supposes. He killed the real Omer, who I believe was my son, and he came here. Ceylin is annoyed. I don’t care about his past. Yekta explains, I’m telling you so we can understand what we are dealing with. We could use that murder to make him confess. There’s no time for that, Ceylin asserts. If you have a quick plan, say it. If not, go! Leave!
Yekta asks, did you give AG Turgut the receipt for the machine used to forge Ilgaz’s signature? I didn’t, Ceylin replies, Ilgaz was taken to the judge, and I haven’t spoken to Turgut. Omer needs to be included in the file asap, Yekta tells her, he needs to be questioned. If we can prove this is a conspiracy designed by him… She finishes the sentence… Ilgaz would benefit.
Exactly! Yekta says, let’s appeal his arrest. Let’s go visit Turgut. Wait, Ceylin says, if you lie to me this time, I’ll kill you. Stop it, Ceylin, he replies, if we don’t stop him [Omer], he’s going to kill me! He’ll take over the law firm. He’ll have fame, privileges, and money, and I’ll be dust. A memory in the hearts of the people. Surprisingly, we are on the same side this time, and we have a common enemy. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Yekta goes.
Aylin asks Ceylin about Ilgaz. She tells Aylin he’s in prison. Ceylin leaves. Aylin calls Gul with the bad news.
Ilgaz meets with the prison DA, Mesut, who couldn’t believe it when he heard the news. Ilgaz explains he was set up. I’ll get out, I won’t be staying long. Mesut says, you know the rules. You don’t need an orientation. Yuksel Sancak is staying in a cell meant for two while he awaits trial. You’ll stay with him. It’s fine with me, Ilgaz answers. The men shake hands. Mesut sends Ilgaz off with an "Allah kurtarsın, savcım".
Eren has told his friends what Ceylin is up to. Derya says Ceylin isn’t stupid. There must be a reason why she took the deal. I don’t doubt Ceylin’s intelligence, Eren says, but she’s dealing with Yekta. That bastard is a liar and trickster. Metin agrees with Eren. Whatever happened to Ilgaz is Yekta’s fault.
Derya agrees too but says the focus should be on proving Ilgaz’s innocence. We’ll have a better chance if we try something different. She asks, what’s going on with that truck? Any updates? Eren says they couldn’t locate the destination. Metin says he had an informant that knew about these things. If he’s still alive, I’ll talk to him.
Umut enters the office. I looked up Eyup Boceli—he’s dead. What? Umut explains, the name belongs to a dead man. He was in prison when he died. It wasn’t recent. It was 6 months ago. Eyup isn’t Eyup. He doesn’t exist. Metin says he was staying with Cinar before he disappeared.
Are you thinking what I am thinking, Derya asks Eren. Metin asks, you’re going to collect his prints? Of course, Eren replies, we’ll ask Goksu and find out who Eyup really is.
Ceylin and Yekta arrive at the courthouse. The pervert futbol coach, Muhsin is there. He spots Ceylin and confronts her. It’s you! The lawyer representing Rengin! That’s right, Ceylin replies, is there a problem with that? What’s the complaint, Muhsin asks, why are you suing me? His lawyer tells him to calm down. Yekta listens intently.
Ceylin states that they filed suit against him and requested an investigation. The DA’s office agreed to it. You’re being accused of harassment and soon you’ll be charged. You don’t know me, Muhsin says. I know bastards like you, Ceylin replies, guilty and powerful. I’ll do whatever it takes to end you.
Muhsin takes a step towards Ceylin and his lawyer grabs him. He exclaims, she’s slandering me! He tells Ceylin that Rengin seduced him. She’s playing the princess and now everyone thinks she’s innocent. Be careful, counselor. Ceylin warns Muhsin’s lawyer, if your client doesn’t watch his words, I’ll add a defamation charge to his file. On that note, Ceylin walks. Yekta looks impressed and interested. His wheels start turning.
Ozcan tells Turgut that there were no fingerprints on the relic found at the house. Turgut asks, Ilgaz’s? Ceylin’s? No, Ozcan replies. Turgut says that’s interesting. Shouldn’t their prints be there if they placed it themselves? But if a third party left it, there’d be no trace. Ozcan supposes that they were careful and cleaned it. It’s a valuable object, you’d keep it clean.
Ceylin knocks at Turgut’s door. May I have a word if you’re available? She hands over the receipt for the machine Omer purchased for Tilmen Law. She says, the machine is used to forge signatures. The firm’s accountant is willing to testify. As you know, Omer was present at the meeting. I demand that he be questioned, we find out why he purchased the machine, and that we search his home and office.
What do you have in mind, Turgut asks, why are you going after Omer? Ozcan takes a look at the receipt. Ceylin says he set up this conspiracy. He was a witness to the meeting, and he utilized the gap between the exchange in teams and told Hilmi to empty the warehouse.
Ceylin continues, Omer did everything he could to incriminate Ilgaz. When Ilgaz visited Yekta’s home, he downloaded the app on his phone. I also demand to know the time when the app was downloaded, since it’s clear when he was at Yekta’s. Omer sent the money he received from Hilmi to Ilgaz and forged Ilgaz’s signature with the machine he purchased. Then with the help of fake instructions, he sent the money to Ilgaz’s relatives.
Turgut finds this very interesting. Let’s say this happened. Why would he do this? What was his goal? What’s his problem with Ilgaz? I don’t know, Ceylin replies, but he was smart and sick enough to watch Ilgaz while he slept in jail. I demand you ask him about this.
Ozcan scoffs. If that’s what really happened, there must be a strong motivator. He watched him while he slept? That seems ridiculous. Ceylin asks Ozcan, did you find out who went into Ilgaz’s office? Turgut says there was nothing suspicious. That’s impossible, Ceylin replies, documents were taken from his office to forge his signature, and they were returned with the fake.
Ozcan tells Ceylin the footage doesn’t support her claim. Turgut has a suggestion. Let’s evaluate Omer Atamer between ourselves. Do you agree, DA Ozcan? He nods. If we think it’s necessary, we’ll question him and do the search.
Ceylin asks to read Yekta’s statement. Ozcan reminds her that the case is sealed. Turgut steps in. It’s fine, he tells Ozcan, let’s help her. She thanks Turgut. Ozcan is dismayed but he follows orders. He looks at Ceylin and says, let’s go to my office. Ceylin exits the room and heads in the wrong direction. Ozcan points the way to Ilgaz’s offce.
Ozcan tells Ceylin there’s a flaw in her argument and asks, what did Hilmi want? To start, she answers, he wanted to save his assets. I don’t know if you know this, but Ilgaz took Hilmi before a judge while he worked to dismantle a gambling ring. Hilmi’s reputation was damaged, and he wanted revenge. He had plenty of motivation.
They enter Ilgaz’s office. Ceylin notices the changes in décor. Ozcan hands over the file. Reading Tilmen’s statement won’t change the ruling, he says, it doesn’t matter. Ilgaz confirmed everything.
Ilgaz enters his cell and is welcomed by his cellmate. Wow, you’re young for a DA, he says. Not really, Ilgaz replies. The cellmate introduces himself—Yuksel Sancak. You may have heard of me, “The Evil Judge”. Yuksel points to a birdcage. This is Boncuk Hanım. It’s just her and me in this world. In memory of my late wife. Ilgaz gives his condolences.
Yuksel notices Ilgaz’s wedding ring. I assume you have someone waiting for you on the outside. Ilgaz says yes, she’s a lawyer, too. Great, Yuksel replies, you’ll be out quickly. Because we’ll do anything for our loved ones. He adds, or we try to. [guessing that’s why Yuksel is there.] Yuksel turns to take care of Boncuk. Ilgaz looks around.
Cinar wonders how Ilgaz is doing. He’s probably devastated. His job and life are on the line. Tugce says they can’t help Ilgaz if they keep moping around. We need to say what we know about Eyup. His last name is Boceli. Tugce asks Cinar, didn’t you ever talk to your friend? Did you talk about anything serious?
Why does that matter, Cinar asks. I can’t spot a liar. He stole a key and is dangerous. Merve says, okay, but tell us something. Think… a clue is a clue. Maybe we can get a lead off it. Cinar remembers Eyup said he came from Kars, and he worked on construction sites. He came here for a job, but it didn’t work out and he quit. He wandered around, and I gave him a job.
You fell for it, Tugce says. Cinar notes that Eyup drinks a lot of tea, like he’s an addict. And he ate tons of pumpkin seeds. I always had to clean up the shells. Flashback to Cinar noticing the shells outside Parla’s house. Current Cinar makes some sort of realization he keeps to himself. He tells the girls that Eyup was very handy. He fixed everything that broke. That’s it. Merve says let’s start with the sites he worked on in Kars.
Eren, Goksu and Derya arrive at the pool hall. Eren tells the group they are there to look for Eyup’s fingerprints so they can identify him. Tugce laughs and says they were ready to buy Cinar a ticket to Kars. Eren asks if anyone touched anything in Eyup’s room. Nope.
Ceylin finishes Yekta’s statement. There’s nothing here to incriminate Ilgaz. Ozcan asks, do you know what I like most about the underworld, counselor? Criminals don’t give themselves away. They stick to the rule of hiding in plain sight. No one is ever too safe. Ceylin replies, like you said, that applies to the underworld, not Ilgaz’s world.
Ceylin gets up to go. She looks at the picture that was removed from the wall. Don’t get too comfortable, she tells Ozcan, Ilgaz will return to his office very soon. Ozcan says he’s just a guest and will return to his office when this is over. This place will have an owner again and from what I see, I doubt it will be Ilgaz. You can collect your husband’s belongings if you want. You can start with that painting.
It’s not necessary, Ceylin replies, Ilgaz will return and hang it where it belongs. Leave it so it won’t be damaged in the move. Kolay gelsin. She leaves and Ozcan mutters, we’ll see about that.
A guard brings Ilgaz the files he requested. He asks Yuksel to excuse him so he can read. You don’t have to ask, Yuksel replies, I don’t think you’ll be here for long, but you have the run of this place until you leave. Yuksel looks over at Ilgaz and asks if this case is important. Ilgaz says he was working on this case and wanted to review the file.
Yuksel notes…contraband? Antiques? There are 3 or 5 men who do that in Turkey. It requires a great deal of experience. Ilgaz asks if he’s seen lots of cases like this. Yuksel goes quiet. He turns away from Ilgaz and goes to feed Boncuk.
Turgut tells Ozcan, reasonable or not, doubt has been cast over him and it wouldn’t hurt to check it out. Ozcan notes, our time is valuable. She’s not here as a lawyer, but as a weeping wife. Her goal is to waste our time. We need to draw up that indictment asap. Have you seen the news sites? Everyone’s talking about it. We’re also being talked about.
Are you married, Turgut asks Ozcan. No, he replies, I’ve never been married [why am I not surprised?] Turgut wants him to call Omer in for a statement. Ozcan looks annoyed and concerned.
And we are out.
Thanks for the comments, everyone.
Good to see you here, Beth S! ITA with what you wrote about our characters.
“At last, Tugce has a quorum agreeing Cinar is a fool.” – LOL, Niecie, she always had our patio in her corner!
I’ll cosign your post, Lucio. Cinar and his girls learned nothing from the Serdar debacle. Ceylin has impeccable timing. And Omer’s story is definitely dark and disturbing.
novelera: “I was kind of struck by Yekta thinking right away that the real Omer had died” – IMHO, Yekta has been accumulating all those creepy vibes from Omer, so he’s ready to think the worst. I wonder if Omer is putting something in his mother’s weekly banana cake.
I’m asking the same thing –“if the real Omer died, then how did the DNA test show him as Yekta's spawn?”
I think Eyup is a blood relation to Serdar, too. When Omer called him, the initials “GD” were on his phone. Serdar’s last name began with a “D”.
There’s something off about Ozcan other than his zero personality, weird hair style, and carpet cleaning video fetish—although that’s enough. Is he involved in the smuggling ring and/or conspiracy against Ilgaz?
Thanks, dondi, for the excellent, detailed recap. This is such a puzzler. How did Omer know about the burial of Kesik by Ceylin and Osman? If he has a thing for Ceylin, as we've seen, why does he now want to sink her by turning her in to the Bar Assn? Has he given up she'll ever want to be involved with him? Or does he think he can sink her legal career and have her depend on him for income when she's his bride?
Finally Turgut notices Ozcan's rather sick pleasure in taking down another DA. And the guy is from the place where the warehouse with Hilmi's stuff was stored. This could lend itself to your theory, dondi, that Ozcan is crooked and on the take himself.
Merdan's connections are wide and deep. Metin was willing to tap them to help Ilgaz, but doesn't want anyone to know about it.
So glad arrangements have been made to keep Igor from harming Ilgaz.
Wow, that jerk manager has the cojones to suggest a lovely woman like Rengin would look twice at him.
Ozgan keeps grasping at straws. It IS suspicious that there were no fingerprints on the figurine. Viewerville knows that Eyup wore gloves. But even while cleaning it, as the jerk suggested, you'd grasp it with one hand, wiping with the other, and somehow there'd be prints.
That was a very good point Ceylin made about the time when the app that was used to transfer money was downloaded. And, if Yekta really wants to sink Omer, he'd be happy to testify about Ilgaz's phone being on that table the whole time.
So...the money we've been wondering about came from Hilmi to Omer for the favor of getting his ill-gotten antiquities out of the warehouse.
I'm getting a sexist, doesn't like uppity women vibe from Ozcan.
Thanks again, dondi!!!
Thanks so much for your recap, Carmella. Well done!
I just can't with Chelo anymore. So she's terrified of Fausto. But she told the truth about what happened to Jacinto, and now she knows Andres is alive. Here she is with TWO other people who could protect her...one of them a fit looking man. But does she blurt out that the boy is her sister's stolen child and use the two visitors to get away from the monster. Of course not. She meekly goes along with his plan to lie and later milk Amalia for $$.
That visit from the cop was weird. He suggests the battered woman, whose name I've forgotten, is dead. But he doesn't present any evidence for that. This is taking a long time to resolve, and I'm leaning now toward her being alive because it would have wrapped up sooner if she were really dead.
That move of Santi's to threaten the orphanage looks like a good one. Whoever he spoke to looked scared of a lawsuit.
Carmella, thanks for providing us that detailed recap. It played out in my mind .I was glad I didn't have to look at Chelo's sad, weepy, ineffective face .
I hope Jacinto pulls through and goes after deeply creepy Fausto.
Now Diego has met Fausto, and I hope his good guy ESP set off alarms that this guy is a bad to the bone liar.
Onward we go. Susan
I just watched a brief trailer for this show . I think the older woman is the evil mother from Hercai ,and I think the young leading lady was in Amor Eterna . ....Susan
I saw this dizi a few months ago…so I won’t watch it again because it’s too soon for me. That is indeed Ayda Aksel, Aziz from Hercai, but I don’t know the other young lady you mentioned……..In turkish this dizi was called “Gulcemal.” As I watch dizi’s more and more, Ayda Aksel is a staple and I enjoy her acting whether she’s playing a good or bad character………..
