Please forgive me, but I'm feeling uninspired today! The only interesting thing I can think of commenting on is the idea of having Sonia help write the presentation for the next win competition. And given that Sonia has an active imagination and romance is her very topic and the name of the wine I think this might actually be a good idea!!! And fun to hear what she comes up with! lol

Everything else is just recycled conversation. I suppose Gracie actually telling Fern she's in love with David is new, but Gracie manipulating Fern into being her puppet is far from new and predictable enough to make even this seem like old news. David and Cesar discuss Luci being wrong for his children, snore; Luci and Miguel to be friends or stay away, snore; Fern and Tano you love your job more than me, snore; Luci is leaving the vineyard for the luck 4,000th time right after the competition, snore; wake me up when something interesting happens.

And I don't mean Fern's upcoming drug dependence, don't want to see that. Or Erika's death, don't want to see that either. I want to see someone develop a brain cell and actually use it! :)

"VINO":

Darcy: I'm only interested in Sonia & Leon AKA LionCub.

Vino. I too bet that Sonia will come up with a winner of a presentation, Darcy! And yep, as I've said before, sometimes this novela reminds me of the soap operas my grandmother watched, before the days of online video or even written summaries of episodes--characters discussing over and over what has happened, how they feel about each other, etc. The upside was that if my grandmother had to be away from the tv for a day or 2 there was no difficulty catching up. I do suspect that Graciela is about to make some kind of move on David.

"VINO" DISCUSSION RECAP:

SpanProf & Darcy: I'm assuming one of you will be posting today's episode highlights ?

Vino

Steve, the problem with that assumption is that there were no 'highlights' in today's episode. It was more recycled plotlines and conversation.... ho hum ho hum. I'll give you the lowlights.

David is picking fights with Luci because he's like 14 years old and picking fights is the only way he can cope with his feelings... sigh. Then again, he has to break up with his true love because she's not the right woman for his adult daughter, so there's no surprise there. David is also fighting with Miguel AGAIN because Miguel is trying to defend Luci. If I had any wine I could play a drinking game - glass of wine for everytime they repeat the same ol' stuff. But then I'd need to buy the whole batch just to keep up. SpanProf is absolutely right, you could skip a whole week of this show and not miss a beat. Well, maybe Erika's death, it's feeling like that is going to happen sooner than later as they ramp up the scenes showing her struggling to breathe.

Lil pretends to bury the hachet with Marta, as Fern really does bury the hachet; but of course, she later makes it clear she isn't forgiving anything! Big shock.

One thing I did notice reading the OG recap, they must not be bothering to cut anything during the daytime broadcast because I saw every scene that the recap listed as cut on the prior broadcast.

Ho hum ho hum, I'm annoyed by both Marta and Susan making suggestive comments about Luci and Miguel, it's disrespectful!! They know Miguel has a girlfriend!!! Of course, we all know Marta has no respect, but Susan should do better. Then again, there probably won't be an Erika for much longer. Are we then going to have to deal with Miguel trying to get Luci back? Will Luci go back??? I don't need another ride on this roller coaster!!!

What else? Oh, Mark is threatening to head back to Sonoma because Colorado is boring??? LOL And Gut is headed to Colorado to investigate some truck, maybe they will run into each other!

"VINO":

Darcy: Sounds like you're implying Erika will die this week. I'm bracing for Creepy Mark to go after Susan AGAIN!

I am doubling-down on Creepy Miguel & Carito being endgame when all is said & done.

Vino

Steve, not implying, just guessing. Based on many many years of novela watching and the overwhelming predictability of this show in particular. I have no idea what actually WILL happen, the writing is just on the wall.

Vino. Hmm. As I recall, when my cousins lived in Sonoma many years ago it wasn't a particularly exciting place. If it attracted tourists it would have been for the wineries and the 19th century mission and presidio. In fact, our 4th grade class (from Napa) toured the mission, the old presidio and General Vallejo's house. Yep, grow up, David! But not likely to happen. Also, I thought that Miguel's intervening with David on behalf of Luci was not an especially good idea. Lil and Graciela are evil and conspiratorial as usual, Fer annoying and easily manipulated--though I do hope she doesn't become addicted to drugs, Sonia a bright light, etc., etc.

Vino

SpanProf, yeah my family lives in Northern California, in Crescent City, which is even further north than Sonoma. Not much going on up there, but it's beautiful and peaceful if you don't need to big city activities to entertain you.

Well, Erika lived through today, I was worried for a minute when she and Miguel were in bed and worried about daddy seeing them together - yet Erika still insisted Miguel stay the night with her - that Erika would die in her sleep and poor Adolfo would have to deal with finding his daughter dead, naked and in bed with her boyfriend in the morning. But since she made it through the night, she and Miguel are talking about moving in together.

I thought it sounded so absurd that Gracie would 'retire' from anything and then I remembered that Gracie is supposed to be 20 years older than Kimberly dos Ramos, who was in her early 20s when she filmed this, she's actually only six months older than Irina Baeva (Luci) and I keep forgetting that she's supposedly older. I guess to 'retire' early at Gracie's supposed age isn't that extreme, but it still sounds weird. Plus, it's not the smart move considering painting was actually paying her bills as Lil pointed out. But I guess Gracie doesn't need a backup plan, she's all in!!! Psycho

Also absurd, Luci and Fern's little heart to heart. It seemed so sincere and Fern seemed genuinely thankful of Luci's sacrifice and like maybe they really can be friends.... so why did Luci and Daddy need to break up again??? I wonder if Fernanda even knows why she objects to Luci. Like if someone actually asked her why, could she even answer the question?? On the original recap, Urban stated several times that Fernanda doesn't like Luci because she's not part of their class, but I don't think that's it... I honestly don't think Fernanda even has a reason, it just can't be Luci because Aunt Gracie has programmed her to think it can't be Luci.

I thought it was ridiculous that Marta compared Luci wanting to focus on work right now to David's dark depression after Lisa's death. So, in Marta's mind it's a bad thing if Luci takes time to heal and focuses on work? I suppose the week after losing the so-called love of her life, Marta thinks Luci should go out and find a new man? Or an old-taken one?? That's crazy! There's nothing wrong with focusing on work for awhile. Maybe if she was still just focused on work a couple years later the 'life is more than work' talk would be reasonable, but it's wonky now.

But then everything is wonky on this vineyard so I guess it fits.

"VINO" DISCUSSION HIGHLIGHTS:
Darcy: Erika & Creepy Miguel getting their freak on wasn't surprising. Univision has a nasty habit cutting out all of the good stuff LOL.

I am waiting for Buji Fernanda getting her Karma anvil sooner or later because the truth will come out about Crazy Whacky Blonde killing Santa Lisa.

Noticed Carito walking in on Sonia & LionCub together LOL.

Let's be honest: I'm here because of Sonia & LionCub because they bring excitement.

Vino. I was amazed that the press would turn out for Graciela's "retirement" speech. Is she that well known an artist? I suspect that part of the problem with this novela is that the writers just aren't paying attention. But I must say that the actress playing Lilian does some incredible facial expressions, as when she's listening to Graciela tell David that she's giving up her career to take care of her family.
