"VINO" EPISODE#117 HIGHLIGHTS DISCUSSION:

Darcy & SpanProf: Looking forward to seeing the discussion of today's upcoming episode. The clock is ticking on Erika as her ongoing battle with asthma is likely to escalate soon I'm afraid.

Steve, once again I am glad someone is looking forward to it!!! Everyday, I hope and hope that something interesting or likable will happen, and every episode we get more of the same. Today's episode was more annoying than normal I think.

First, everyone is jealous of everyone else and it's annoying. Even Erika who claimed to daddy that she was now secure was low key interrogating Miguel once she found out he was talking to Luci - although if she had seen the conversation between Miguel and Luci with the frequent hugs and wide smiles she'd have reason to be jealous!!! Which is another reason for annoyance, are we really going back to the Miguel/Luci leg of this Miguel/Luci/David triangle??? It certainly seems like it.... grr.

Then you have everything about Luci and Gracie's interactions!!! They behave like teenagers in their jealous of each other. They can't even hear one another's name without saying something catty. And they have the never ending 'he's mine' no 'he's mine' arguments, it's boring. Gracie is supposed to be 40ish? And she acts like she's 15! And just when I was thinking that she is the problem, we get the scene of Lil assuring Gut that she's helping him just so he won't think about Marta ever again!!! And I remember it's genetic!!! The grandma generation has never ending jealousy/competition teenage fights too!!!!! How could I forget that? I have a feeling we'll be reminded a few more times before Por Fin, based on Marta's reaction when Leon suggested that she couldn't possibly take Gut back, because nothing he did recently changes that he deported Luci!!! Do we think Marta cares, or is concerned about Luci?? Nope

Usually Leon and Sonia are the bright spot in this mess, and even though they were cute and playful in their scenes today, it was kind of disturbing that they were back to playing the Mi Senor, game!!! I don't think Sonia is still thinking about David, but it still has icky connotations.
 

"VINO" EPISODE#117:

Darcy: Luciana is lucky that Crazy Whacky Blonde didn't kill her on the spot or hired someone to kill her.

Erika is kind of annoying with the jealously & I'm counting down to the days of Creepy Miguel & Carito being endgame once Erika kicks the bucket.


 

Vino. OTOH, compared to some recent episodes, this one was fairly positive. Luci went ahead and talked to management at the upscale restaurant that is willing (and happy) to feature the vineyard's wine after her presentation. And after a very brief tantrum David was actually grateful and thanked her! Despite the Mi senor foolishness, Leon and Sonia seem to be making progress toward a very happy ending. Fer is happy about probably performing very well on the college admissions test (SAT?). Bobby may only be on the waiting list for the futbol school, but Graciela has vowed to use her influence. David was able to spend time with his children. Even some of the villains and near-villains had positive experiences: Gut is being hailed for getting rid of an immigrant-trafficker and probable murderer, Graciela made points with Bobby, and David and Lilian is back with Gut. Win win win for nearly everyone! :) (Though no doubt Juan is up to more evil.)
 

Vino. Oh, and despite whatever might or might not happen in the future, Erika and Miguel are now an official couple (Her father even approves), and seem very happy together (though I agree that it's just as well Erika doesn't see Miguel's interactions with Luci).

Haven't heard back from Rgv Chick yet but I have decided to take a page from your positivity SpanProf, and say something positive about today's episode.... here we go.

I like Sophia Castro (Fernanda), when Fern isn't screaming or crying. I've read a lot of criticism of her because of her dad and nepotism, but however she gets her jobs she's talented. She's beautiful, the camera loves her, and she has a certain sparkle about her when she's happy and smiling. I think she should probably get plenty of roles regardless of who her dad is.

You mentioned Erika and Miguel being happy and daddy approving and it reminded me of something I was thinking yesterday, which is it's odd that daddy is happy for Erika's decision to shack up with Miguel. He seems like the kind of dad that would be wanting Miggy to put a ring on it!

Okay, there's all the positivity I have, so let's discuss the kiss!!!

It looks like Gracie is finally making headway, not only does she have even Luci second guessing herself and wondering if Gracie was what David needed after all!!! And now, she is kissing David and David is kissing back!!! I would say eww!! But I'm considering joining Team Gracie myself, I mean she's evil and the anvil is coming and all, but I don't actually care about any other outcome either. I'm pretty sure I will just shrug when David and Luci finally get their HEA, so might as well root for Gracie for a while. I mean forget the 5-year plan, she's zeroing in on her what, 20-year plan? 25 years?? That's dedication right there.

Darcy: Counting down the days of seeing the Karma anvil with Crazy Whacky Blonde's name on it.

Erika & Creepy Miguel will NOT last long because of her asthma problems, which will escalate once again. Will she kick the bucket next week ?

Let's not forget about Jackass Self-Hating Gutierrez: His Karma anvil will be coming soon as well.

Patiently waiting for Luciana & David being endgame. Be patient folks!
 

Vino. Loved your comments about Gracie, Darcy! And I too was a little surprised by Erika's daddy's willingness to let Erika and Miguel shack up. Maybe because she's been so sick? No wonder Fer is happy. 1300 is a very good SAT score. I forgot to mention that another positive event is that Tano is about to start community college and he sort of has David's approval to date Fer. I thought it was cute the way she altered her kiss to Tano because David was watching. And yep, oh oh, David feels obligated to Graciela and she seems to be fooling everyone except Luci. Btw, Bobby hasn't actually been accepted by the futbol school yet.
 

Vino. As I recall, yesterday even Luci said a few positive things about Graciela--almost willing to believe she really cares about David's children, for example.
