"VINO" HIGHLIGHTS DISCUSSION:

Darcy, SpanProf & Co.,: Howdy from the Alamo City. Ding Dong! The Crazy Whacky Blonde is dead! Ding Dong! The Crazy Whacky Blonde is FINALLY dead!

I should note courtesy of Lillian, who gave the Psycho Blonde one bigly push down the stairs: Bippidity, Boppidty SPLAT!

Of course we watched Slippery Juan & Gullible David fighting in the winery I think, where Slippery Juan pressed Gullible David's gunshot wound. Law enforcement authorities FINALLY arrested Slippery Juan.

Inside the Reyes Mansion: FerBrat is crying after she & Gullible David find Psycho Blonde dead with Lillian holding her dead daughter's body before the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department FINALLY arrested Lillian.

Fast Forward Moments: Put Luciana, Marta & Creepy Miguel on mute.

Everyone at the supposed wedding day festivities finds out what really went down inside.

I'll start off by saying that I was watching on Vix, as you know, and I didn't realize at first but Vix has the last two episodes combined as one big finale, so I am not sure where the Uni episode may have ended but I'll end where the original recap did for this episode in making my comments.

First, I felt like this was a really good episode, both the writing and the acting! If the whole show had been this good, it would have been a very different experience!!

Kimberly dos Ramos was perfection once again!! She nailed it in every scene, every emotion and every facial expression... she was so convincing! It seems a lot of the originals didn't like her simple death because she didn't suffer enough, but I thought it was fitting. She ended up at the foot of the steps, still the perfect porcelain doll, just without life.

Azela Robinson (Lil) was excellent too! She was in her element wailing over Grace, livid and pushing one minute and coming apart that her daughter was dead the next. When she was holding Grace and lamenting everything that had happened, you could feel her pain! Other than shock, I don't know why Lil kept saying she killed Gracie! It looked like an accident to me. I kind of expected some overdramatic stair launching death, but what I saw was a push not intended to send Gracie flying and a loss of footing. (Side note: I'm always amazed at all the people in novelas who die from falling down the stairs, I wouldn't think it would be a fall that easy to die of. I fell down the stairs a time of two, I was never even seriously injured much less dead)

I was really impressed with Sophia Castro's (Fernanda) performance. I expected over the top screaming and yelling like we've endured too many times already, but no! I think she nailed it! Others thought she was still over the top, but I disagree. I think her performance was believable. She was clearly traumatized, but for once Fernanda wasn't crying me, me, me! She was worried about her brother and her dad! That showed real character growth.

I thought Christian de la Campa's (Juan's) performance in the cava as he had the last great confrontation with David was fantastic!!! You know I love him, and I haven't had too much to comment on acting wise, because he hasn't been given much to work with it. But his scene here was really good. I thought Gabe Soto (David) was good too! Juan's villain's laugh, his smirking, his putting the knife in and twisting away, it was just jokerish enough to fit the moment without being so over the top you're rolling your eyes.

I got annoyed by them pulling away from the action so we could witness Miguel and Luci argue about the same old thing again! And more annoyed that Luci apologized to Miguel! Girl, you did nothing wrong! He's an oaf, who needs to accept reality and move on.

Imagine being a guest at this wedding! The bride is dying/dead in the next room, the groom takes off to duel with the villain, the daughter of the bride comes in and out in increasing stages of panic! Then the groom reappears, covered in blood and says no worries, just wait here... wow!

Vino. Yep, Darcy, I too thought Graciela's death was an accident, and and I totally agree that death by stairway fall has become a cliche. A broken arm or leg would be much more likely. And Graci not only admitted that she had killed Perla, but Lisa--truly insanely reveling in her horrible actions. I was impressed by the quality of the actress' eye makeup--no matter how much they cried it didn't smear at all. And, sure, after being shot and beaten David could beat up Juan and hold him till the police arrived. At least the police have Juan in custody, and with 1 episode left, he shouldn't be a bother to David and his family again. But all in all, a very active, non-boring episode.

OT. It looks as if starting next week there will be an anthology series replacing Vino el amor rather than another telenovela. I wonder how long that will last.

"VINO" HIGHLIGHTS DISCUSSION:

SpanProf, Darcy, Kirby, Vicky, UA, Weirdo & Co.,: Howdy from the Alamo City. Talk about the ramifications still richoeting around Sonoma & Co.,

FerBrat crying on Carlos' sholuders while he's comforting her following the explosive fallout of Crazy Whacky Blonde confesing to killing Santa Lisa, Perla, etc.,

David & FerBrat both saying Goodbye Felicia to Lillian, who's likely going to be staying in prison for a very long, long time. Had this Telenovela been filmed in my beloved home state of TX: Lillian would've gotten the death penalty & gettinh lethal injection.

I forgot to mention Adolfo visited Lillian in prison before he leaves for the final time.

We see Slippery Juan still being a complete nutjob as usual ranting as usual in his prison cell.

Ramiro & Marta holding hands during a typical daily walk in Sonoma & I think they stop to get some flowers.

We also see highlights of Sonia & LionCub's business grand opening including the autograph signing of Sonia's book "The Heart That Roars" book with long lines of fans waiting to get an autograph signing of Sonia's book.

Creepy Miguel still creepy & clingy: Carito take this clingy dude far away please ASAP.

The moment we've been waiting for: Wedding of Sonia & LionCub at the Reyes Mansion with everyone in attendance. Ramiro & Marta being together.

David & Luciana getting some alone time during the wedding ceremony.

FerBrat moves out to attend UC-Davis or University of California-Berkeley & she speaks virtually with Carlos during the flash-forward highlights.

Lillian & Marta talk via phone during Marta's likely only visit at the prison.

Bobby wins some soccer championship during one of the flash-forwatd highlights.

We FINALLY see FerBrat making amends with Luciana with apologies & hugs during the wedding ceremony of Sonia & LionCub.

Over at the maximum prison: Slippery Juan gets his asa kicked by the other inmates, whom aren't happy with finding out Slippery Juan had Jackass Gutierrez whacked.

In the flash-forwatd segments: Luciana & David FINALLY together. They're having breakfast with FerBrat, Bobby, Sonia & Marta at the dinner table.

Later on, Luciana & David FINALLY kiss as the FIN shows. With that, it was a blast watching this chaotic Telenovela.

Well, the last episode went kind of like the rest of them. The stuff with Leon and Sonia was cute and upbeat and the rest of it was okay...

I suppose it was nice to see Lil and Marta makes amends. And to hear Marta for once take some accountability for her part in all this. But it felt a little off too, mostly because in my mind they are both villains and one's in jail for an accident while the other gets HEA. I have to disagree about Lil getting the death penalty Steve, she didn't do anything worthy of that. In fact, she didn't really do anything worthy of prison except embezzlement and she didn't even get caught for that. They kept saying there was nothing they could do because she 'confessed' but if they knew US law at all those spontaneous admissions could easily be thrown out of court since she wasn't mirandized or under arrest when she said them. I suppose Lil was a bad guy and needed to end up with an anvil, but I'd rather have seen her go to jail for the crimes she did commit.

It annoyed me that even months later at Leon and Sonia's wedding, Luci couldn't just come out and tell Miguel that there was no hope! She didn't love him that way and she never would!

Fernanda's maturing was nice to see.

Luci and David are finally together the last two minutes of our tale - who cares??

Ultimately, my ending impression is that this was one very badly written story with some very good and even excellent performances, especially Kimberly dos Ramos! But I am glad it's over. I did enjoy watching and discussing with the patio though! SpanProf, I too noticed there doesn't seem to be a Univision daytime novela scheduled next week. Not sure how long that will last, but I don't have access to Unimas, so that puts daytime viewing out for me at least for the moment! Hopefully, we'll have others join the patio that wish to discuss some of the Unimas novelas.

I forgot to mention, Kimberley’s arms looked really red and even bruised in the bedroom scenes. We know the slaps were faked, but that was either a good makeup job or Kim really was getting grabbed and held quite a bit during filming!

Vino. Even if Lil had pushed Graciela (which she didn't), any attorney worth his or her salt could have easily argued for temporary insanity, given the revelations Graciela had just communicated. Writers, if you're going to discuss US crimes, bone up on US law! Even if it's just watching a season or 2 of Law and Order. Just typical of this novela's sloppiness. David keeps making excuses and blaming Graciela, but it was his fault he chose her. So happy Leon's restaurant is successful and Sonia has a best-selling novel. Their wedding was adorable too. Juan is now completely crazy and is at least charged with the sheriff's death. Happy endings all around, except for the bad guys and Miguel. I will probably watch the anthology series, Darcy, at least for a while, since that's a good time for me. I don't know whether Unimas has daytime novelas or not. I hope that before long it's replaced with a GOOD novela. I have really enjoyed your reviews, Darcy and our occasional chats. Hope to see you discussing another novela soon!

Oh oh! My comments either didn't register or were removed! Anyway, Darcy, in additions to my comments on the episode, I just wanted to thank you for all your reviews and I will really miss them and our occasional chats about the novela. I will probably watch the anthology program, at least for a while, because that is a very good time of day for me.

VINO. Anyway, hurray for Leon and Sonia and all their successes!

Vino. Another thing I said in my discarded comment was that any US attorney worthy of his or her salt would have argued that even if Lilian had pushed Graciela (which she hadn't), given the nature of the things Graci had just told her about the murders of Perla and Lisa, that there was a very good case for temporary insanity. If the writers are going to show US crimes they should look into US laws first. Also, Juan is now completely nuts, and at least is being charged for the sheriff's murder. A happy ending for everyone except the bad guys and Miguel.

SpanProf, I was able to find and retrieve your comment, it is published now. I am not sure which anthology series you're referring to, the schedule I am looking at doesn't even show an anthology series. It shows: Noticiero Univision, Nosotros los Guapos, Hoy, Sienetense quien pueda, El gordo y la flaca, and then Premier Impacto. I supposed if the anthology was on Vix I could try to watch and we could discuss, but I wouldn't mind taking a break either. I have some stuff at home I want to catch up on and some projects I'd like to start. I will definitely be keeping my eyes out for another daytime novela to start.

Vino. Oh no! The schedule for WGBO Chicago seems to have changed again since I checked on Friday! It was supposed to be an anthology series called something like Como asi suena, but now it's a 2-hour Hoy followed by Sientense quien pueda. I wonder what's up with them. That's 3 schedule changes in a couple of weeks. Guess I will be cruising for daytime novelas as well. A break of a few weeks isn't a bad idea either.

I just checked. It looks as if there are a couple of daytime novelas on Unimas.

Vino. And thank you for getting my comment back! :)

Yes there are several daytime novelas on Unimas, they is even one recently started- Cuando me enamorado, I believe is only like 3
20 episodes in. The others are have been running several months and are close to ending. But that means they’re will be new ones soon. I don’t have access to Unimas bright now, but that’s definitely an option for you since daytime works well for you!

That’s 20 episodes, not 3 20, not sure where that random 3 came from

:) I'll hunt around and will probably find something at least watchable.
