THE HIGHLIGHT for me was the four friends (Manuela, Amanda, Yaneli and Paloma) attending a concert by Brisa Portugal (played by Mexican singer /actor Dulce). Jorge Flores (AKA Jorge the Psychic to the Stars), one of Brisa's friends, is also there. He told Brisa that she was going to be reborn and return stronger than ever and she did! She sings the theme song and the friends join in.
Everything else:
Paloma explains to Franco's parents all about HIV and how it can be controlled and be non-transmissible with meds. Franco is very responsible and that is why she isn't afraid to be with him. What is more is that she LOVES their son. His parents want to take him to the best doctors. They are worried about him having a mortal illness. Franco is quire philosophical about it saying everyone dies. Franco has to explain to his parents that not only gays and drug addicts get HIV. They ask who was he with? They really do not want to hear anymore about him having ruined his life and leave. Franco tells Paloma that he has given up on his parents because they reacted like they always do. He is happy that he has Paloma. Paloma asks him how he got HIV. Franco explains that had sex with a girl a few times and he got it from her. Paloma doesn't ask for any more details but makes it clear that she is there anytime he wants to tell her more. He appreciates that.
Angeles tries to find out why Julieta got the beauty treatment. Julieta isn't taking.
Pablo is surprised to see the ever smirking Leandro with Carmina in Pablo's room but it is no mystery why he is there. Carmina explains that he is representing her in their division of their property and also the decision on the custody of Pablito. Pablo witnesses that Pablito has a certain attraction to Leandro who gets a warmer greeting from the child than he does. Leandro and Pablo have a discussion that almost comes to blows where Leandro describes his situation with Carmina and Pablo as being equivalent to Pablo being with Julieta and Manuela. It is clearly tit for tat, payback. Now that Carmina has found herself all alone in the city, Leandro is going to always be available to provide WHATEVER she MIGHT need. Pablo makes it clear he doesn't care about Carmina. He doesn't want Leandro around his son. Leandro doesn't think it is his fault that Pablito is in need of a father figure since his own father is more interested in finding love than paying attention to his own son. Still smirking, Leandro kisses Carmina on the cheek and leaves.
Carmina makes Pablito feel even worse abut Pablo by telling him that it is just the two of them now since his father is spending all of his time with his new family
Pablo talks to Pablito in the hospital. Pablito is disturbed that he hardly sees Pablo and blames his relationship with Manuela. Pablo explains that he is in love with Manuela and likes to spend time with her. He also tells him that Pablito has an eternal place in his heart and that Manuela has another place. He can fit a lot of "loves" in his heart. Pablito wants to meet Manuela and also see his brother Damián. Pablo tells him that his brother wants to see him, too, and asks him to be patient.
Pablito's doctor tells Carmina it si clear that she hasn't been looking after her son. She disagrees. She sees the tea as having much better results than the treatment he prescribed and so she SUSPENDED the treatment. The doctor tries to explain that she is playing with her son's life. The tea will not cure him and his kidneys are damaged and have been for a while now. He cannot understand how a mother could put her child's life at risk. She warns him to not tell Pablo a word of the truth or she will make public all of the recordings she has of their meetings together. Pablo appears and asks the doctor how Pablito is doing. The doctor assures him that Pablito is stable and will be doing very well. Pablo hopes to see some progress because if he doesn't, he will be looking for another opinion.
Carmina visits Leandro in his office where he offers her a snifter of cognac and a chaser of sex. She accepts both.
Nico shows up a Amanda's shop where he demands that she tell him where Tamara and the kids are. She tries to calm him down but he gets louder and starts to call her a "daughter of a b****". Enrique tries to intercede but Nico pushes him down on the ground before stalking off.
It looks like Enrique is unconscious but probably isn't because he is back a few scenes later catching his ne'er do well son Nacho texting with Desirée. Enrique cannot believe it. He tells his son to grow up. Nacho is depressed because he cannot get a woman who understands him. Enrique reminds him that a relationship is a two way street. He has to do his part. Suddenly, Nacho comes to his senses and gives Enrique the address at which Desirée can be found. Enrique sends it to Amanda who forwards it to Leandro and Desirée is quickly apprehended.
Amanda tells Leandro that his sister Tamara finally called and she will be home very soon. Amanda adds that she has been worried about the kids because Nico had been hanging around like a vulture. Leandro makes it veery clear that she needn't worry about Nico.
Leandro tells Irineo that he still plans on getting custody of his kids. Lorena called him and he and the kids chatted. He is going to keep a low profile and lull Lorena into a false sense of security until he is ready to make his move.
Genaro tells Yaneli that he is having a hard time getting a job as a convicted felon. She wants to know how it was in jail and he tells her that what he saw he would never wish on his worst enemy. He was threatened from the time he arrived. It was like being in hell. He had no idea who was threatening him and doesn't want to know now. Yaneli feels bad that she didn't confront him with what she saw in the first place. He tells her that is all water under the bridge. They agree from now on to tell each other the truth. Yaneli suggests that he complete that cycle of his life by talking and apologizing to to Dulce.
Dulce agrees to talk to Genaro but will not talk to Anmnda. Amanda wonders why not.
All of Edgardo's victims film videos for the social networks denouncing Edgardo. Axel tells Yaneli that after the videos were posted, other victims came forward and said that Edgardo was not the only staff member involved in sexual harassment of students.
Yaneli wants to get back into a traditional prep school. She is in the "open prep" school but is worried that she will not be able to get into a public university where it seems that students from traditional prep school get preference. She wants to study medicine.
Pablo invites Manuela out for supper. Julieta encourages her to go. Manuela accepts and they have sex for dessert.
Later, Manuela gets a text accompanied by photos of Julieta. The text says: "As you can see, I have been closer to your daughter than you. Manuela, you are a slut who has been anything but a good mother. " She texts back "Who are you?" and "What do you want?"
That is it for me tonight.
I wish I could relate every important word that was spoken tonight but alas much was over my head. Kindly add what I could not interpret or correct if I misstated.
The tide has indeed begun to turn…
The angry mob has lobbed an incendiary device through Zaira and Tigre’s window and a small fire has begun, quickly extinguished by Leo and Gael. The mob storms the house and Zaira bravely steps forward, admonishing the crowd.
As a result of his attempted rape against Roberta, Patricio has been stabbed and is lying on the floor bleeding and crying. She says he is not the victim (and she is right there). Lolita comes in staring in horror. She crouches down saying he is alive and calls for an ambulance. Roberta is upset at the intrusion, shaking her head, she likely just wanted him to bleed out on the floor.
Aleida has her gun trained on Fidel saying he had her committed! Fidel says something about the family and the blood drains from Orlando’s face as he asks just above a whisper, “Aleida, you are my mother?? Yes son she answers. Then Fidel puts his gun down, likely realizing there is no way she is going to pull the trigger. Shut up she yells, gun still steadily pointed. When he continues to insult her, she shoots at the floor and makes him jump. Orlando manages to grab the gun (without fumbling) and points it at Fidel who eventually leaves. Mother and son hug.
A reporter corners Sara who has a flashback. I didn’t understand what he said but he hands her a USB. We see a woman in a chair being strangled by Roberta. Then they show another woman crying (who I couldn’t ID). Please fill in if you can. Danilo slips in behind her as Sara looks horrified. Two policemen enter Sara’s office and she leaves with them, Danilo with his back to them, seemingly invisible.
Ramiro, looking desperate, is talking with a mechanic. He is being followed by the bad miner (hired by Patricio/Roberta).
Addled tells Miriam Roberta had cameras installed in the house Emilia was renting. For the first time, he seems genuinely afraid. He hands her a fistful of cash and begs her to leave saying Roberta is declaring war. Take my child he begs again and she finally looks like she believes him. He kisses her on the forehead.
Tigre, brandishing his rifle, is keeping the mob at bay as they advance. Marat comes out of the blue to pull one of the men back.
Diana
Orlando is overcome with tears as is Aleida. He remembers her hugs as a child. Intense emotion floods his face as he thinks about her in the manicomio and all that she suffered; he talks about her being in Spain. She caresses his face and tells him what a good man he is. She did everything she did for him. You are so brave mama he says thinking how Fidel lied to him all these years that she was dead. But then he comes back to reality, a joyous reunion where smiles break through their tears. Te amo she tells him, she has been dreaming of this this moment. This long-awaited reunion is interrupted by Lolita calling him about Patricio. What is it Aleida asks. I have to go to the hospital Patricio is in serious condition.
Jenny and Gigi are at the doctor’s. Their hands tightly clenched together, expressions reflecting fear and alarm, ask if it is serious. He needs to run some tests to be sure. Just then, the results arrive. The doctor is nonplussed. There is no explanation he starts. As she and Gigi hold hands preparing for the worst, he says you are pregnant, congratulations! Jenny and Gigi are overwhelmed and overjoyed.
Roberta in her black and silver glitter jacket throws chess pieces down in a hissy fit. Fidel arrives and they fill each other in on their respective crisises, Aleida and Patricio.
Jenny is still absorbing that she is going to be a mother! Sadly she has broken up with Orlando she laments. Gigi starts to give her advice, but the policewoman calls advising her that Joaquina is going to be moved.
Sara, in her orange is the new black pantsuit, talks with her father. about La Patrona. She leaves him speechless.
Patricio tells Aleida and Orlando that he is dying. Aleida pushes him to talk, she is going to record his confession.
The mob is still rabble rousing and now Emilia and Sebas have arrived. Facing the mob, head held high, jutting her jaw out, she declares “I am Emilia Sanchez, the minera”! Leo backs her up saying she is innocent and that Roberta caused the mine explosion and the mastermind who manipulated everything. She starts to get the mob fired up but the accusations against Emilia are silenced when Sara arrives, standing with Leo and Emilia.
Gigi, Cayetana and Jenny arrive at jail to fight Joaquina’s extradition. They say she will not be transferred and to the officials’ great dismay they start filming saying there is rampant corruption at the police department. The official tells them to put the cameras away agreeing not to transfer Joaquina.
Sara and Roberta go back and forth but apparently Sara makes her point as Roberta and the crowd leave. Thank you Sara Leo says.
Diana
On the verge of death, Patricio spills his guts about Roberta’s assorted atrocities. Aleida tells him now is the time to confess all. Orlando shakes his head gravely in agreement.
Ramiro and his family are on the lamb as they huddle with their suitcases in a small room. He admonishes them not to open the door to anyone. He leaves and is followed by the bad miner.
Cayetana arrives at Tigre’s saying they are moving Joaquina to the reclusorio. Marat leaves and Tigre looks after him with overt jealousy.
Roberta and Fidel lament all of their problems.
Addled tries to reason with Sara but it is clear he has “lost” her. She gets a call and storms off.
Emilia and Sebas are fussing over a sleeping Nico. He assures her everything will be all right. She thanks him for all he has done for her and her family. He was happy to do it. She asks his forgiveness. A lovely scene as he smiles sweetly. I believe he acknowledges that she loves Leo.
Leo and Marat have arrived at jail asking about Joaquina. An incensed Ezequiel tries to rush at Leo but Marat holds him back. Sara arrives and Ezequiel starts in on her but she fights back and he runs out.
Sebas, Tigre, Zaira and Sebas are sitting at the kitchen table as Sara calls Emilia, telling her she has incriminating evidence on a USB. Emilia gets up to go as Zaira begs her not to, saying Sara is mentirosa. Emilia asks Sebas to stay there. Zaira has a bad feeling, muttering under her breath, clutching her chest.
Joaquina is in her cell, crying. Leo appears and although she begs his forgiveness, it is obvious there is no need. She urges him to go with Emilia and Nico but he vows he will not rest until she is free.
Ezequiel calls Roberta and fills her in…
Ramiro leaves the safety of the house to buy some food. The bad miner is lurking in the background and he is brandishing a long, serrated knife! Just then we see Gael and Marijo walking arm in arm. The miner rushes toward Ramiro as Gael and Marijo look on in horror.
In the woods we hear Sara call “Leonardo”; as she comes into view she sees and quickly acknowledges Sara. She holds out the USB telling them she has important evidence against Roberta. All of a sudden Ezequiel comes rushing up, gun pointed at them. They say something I didn’t get which seemed to give him pause. Then like a monstrous apparition, Roberta appears and grabs his gun. She calls out “Emilia” but it is Sara she shoots! Sara falls to the ground as Leo kneels down by her side, Roberta smiling evilly with sick self-satisfaction. Next, she turns her gun and her sights toward Emilia who stares like a helpless dear in the headlights…
Diana
Jarifa, sensational, start to finish.
“Carmina visits Leandro in his office where he offers her a snifter of cognac and a chaser of sex. She accepts both” was pure perfection. I also loved “Pablo invites Manuela out for supper. Julieta encourages her to go. Manuela accepts and they have sex for dessert”. Simply sublime.
I could feel my face flush as I watched Leandro prey on Pablito (who he could care less about) to wound Pablo. What a monster. And yet, Carmina continuing to harm her son, ruining his health was far worse. Leandro and Carmina’s coupling was animalistic and loathsome.
In contrast, Manuela and Pablo’s love scene was sweet (if rather passionless) and well-choreographed.
Manuela and Julieta’s stalker seems poised to make an appearance. I am very afraid.
Of course Leandro is still going to try and get custody of his boys. His ego would allow nothing less.
“Dulce agrees to talk to Genaro but will not talk to Amanda. Amanda wonders why not”. I do too. Has she met Leandro or somehow knows he is involved? Is it that cut and dried?
I also enjoyed the singing, a change of pace from all the intrigue.
Diana
Thanks, Diana.
The guy who came to see Sara handed her a USB that the journalist whom Sara hired told him to give to the authorities if something happened to her. It was the same one Sara asked to ruin Emilia's life. The woman who was crying must be Salvador's mother I think. I can't remember if she mentions his name, but she says she is sure they killed him because they brought her a lock of his hair and his chain "so she could remember him' and a lot of cash from la patrona to keep her quiet.
Sara tells her father she only wanted Leonardo to love her and for them to be happy and all ended badly. I mean, and she realised only now that this simply wasn't going to happen? I have to say that Sara's level of delusion is quite astonishing. Anyway, she is now on the side of the good and wants to do the right thing. Addled asks her if she'd like to do this before or after dying. Sense of humour always helps I suppose. But he somehow seems less worried about her than about Miriam and his son. But maybe it's just that Miriam has his child who can't defend himself.
Sara actually fires Ezequiel. She also tells Roberta she can't arrest Emilia because she is Victoria and there's no proof Emilia is alive and is another person. And they have nothing against Victoria. Basically there's a process they need to follow so no jail for Emi. I do still wonder how thes people never really realised what Roberta is like. It's not difficult to see she doesn't care about them, given that two mines were ruined and no one got anything. so I'm curious who the women who still sided with her are. I mean, they actually believe all she says when under her leadership the mine, which is what provides them their livelihood, went bankcrrupt. I thought people at least knew what's good for them. Or do they just like setting houses and people on fire and that's their real motive?I can't believe Roberta is their Pablo Escobar. She didn't even build anything for them during all those years. Oh she opened the park! But still...
Sara told Ezequiel the authorities have documents that will ruin Roberta and that she could get him a deal that would let him get far away.
I'd love to slap tigre. He told Marat he should leave so they'd be among family. Then tells Zaira 'why don't you go with him.' If I were her, I'd have left. Zaira is way too good for him and he still thinks he'll win something by being jealous and rude.
i found it hard to watch a scene between Emilia and Sebas because when he said she gave him a lot, all he mentioned was the fact she let him be close to her, shared her secrets and gave him Nico. It's like they use this sentence starter just to use it and it doesn't matter what comes after. Emilia now tells Sebas to take Nico if something were to happen to her? And what happend to Leonardo loving Nico and being a great father? I doubt he'd let Sebas take him. Emila also says she'll take Leo to go with her to meet Sara. Well, unlike Sebas, Leo actually has to be called to help.
Miriam now tells Addled she won't leave Sebas because she might not have a reason to get involved here, but he does. now she is on the right side, which is neither his nor Roberta's side obviously. I have to note she chooses to fight because of Sebas and not because it's the right thing to do. This is one more reason she should not be with him:Miriam seems to be one of those who don't care about justice because it doesn't affect her. Sebas isn't like this.
I'm glad for Jen but not as much as I'd be if they hadn't made her go through hell for this. I also find her obsession with having a baby disturbing. But apparently it's fine because its what 'every woman should want'. They really don't address this plot point properly.
I keep thinking the writers are laughing at use while writing the scripts for every episode. They aren't even trying to do a good job by this point. It's like they want to see how much nonsense we can take. I only fear they might kill off Sebas. But maybe not. He'll just be with Miriam.
Does anyone remember what happened to the evil ddoctora?
Diana: Howdy from the Alamo City. Thank you very much for your recap of last night's episode. It was nice seeing the emotional mother/son reunion between Adelia & Orlando.
Waterlily: I smiled watching Crazy Whacky Blonde Sara getting shot because..... she had it coming.
Glad Jenny is preggers again. She better tell Orlando ASAP!
Looks like Patricio will join the Body Count soon. Big question is whether Ramiro will join the growing Body Count tonight ?
Marijo & Gael walking arm & arm: Awww.
Any chance Marat becomes Adelia's knight & shining armor ?
Something tells me Smarmy Fidel will plot one final sinister attack very soon before his Karma anvil.
Miriam was Addled's Sugar Baby ?
Waterlily, once again, thank you for all the dialogue you provided and for filling in my many gaps.
I especially appreciate your explaining excactly what is on the USB.
So now Emilia wants Sebas to take Nico, even though Leo is supposed to be his father. She continues to confound.
"I can't believe Roberta is their Pablo Escobar. She didn't even build anything for them during all those years. Oh she opened the park! But still..." was an excellent line.
Sara finally woke up but is she too late?
Things look so dire but I was thrilled that Jenny is pregnant because she wanted it so badly. She did pay a high price and yes, has been to hell and back.
I did love Orlando and Aleida's reunion. A ray of sunshine in an overall dark and dank episode.
Can anyone tell me the name of the bad miner who is after Ramiro? I have looked at several cast of characters for the show but can't seem to find him.
Diana
Steve, yes, the Aleida/Orlando reunion was very emotional and I was so happy they found each other again.
I think a few of us are wondering if Marat might end up with Aleida but there have been no clues thus far anything is sparking. That might change.
Yes, Addled is the father of Miriam's son.
Diana
Thanks Jarifa, that was a great recap. The contrast in the two love scenes was telling. One was lust, the other love . It’s so obvious, to us, the viewers, why Leandro is with Carmina and Pablito.
Franco’s parents win the award for worse parents. Although there are actually quite a few bad parents in this. Carmina is damaging her son’s kidneys. She knows she’s lost Pablo so why is she still making Pablito ill. Just to lay a guilt trip on Pablo is my guess.
Dulce not wanting to see Amanda is telling. I feel it must be because of Leandro.
One thing I’m ok with is Leandro doing whatever to Nico. He was really worse last night than ever before.
I find it strange that Edgardo isn’t the only staff member involved in sexual harassment at the school. I guess that’s why Yaneli was put out instead of firing Edgardo.
So Julieta’s “friend” is someone trying to hurt Manuela! It announced last weeks for this telenovela!
Liz
Minas
Thanks, Diana and Waterlily. It’s hard to make sense of all this craziness. While they were recording Patricio why didn’t they ask him what he did with the books he stole. There was a lot of proof in them. And Fidel knows Aleida is going to be a problem but leaves. Is he ever going to realize how crazy Roberta is. She’s actually gleeful as she shoots Sara.
I’m glad Sara became a good guy. Her dad seems very nonchalant about the danger she is in.
I like Gigi fighting for Joaquina. I actually like Gigi. Her character has really changed and developed.
I guess tonight we’ll find out who saves Emilia.
Liz
Thanks so much Liz!
Roberta was "gleeful" when she shot Sara; perfect word...I hope she languishes in jail for the rest of her miserable life.
I have come to like Gigi as well. She loves her daughters and it's a shame Sara never really appreciated her. I'm hoping she will have the chance to atone for that mistake.
Someone is going to need to appear out of the blue to save Emilia. Sebas? He would be my guess; superman, always in the nick of time :)

MAL-ena returns Paula's slap OUCH!!
Rolando accuses Pepe of trying to burn the food truck. As they are about butt heads, Paula arrives and stops them, assuring Pepe that he does not think he was the culprit. Pepe suggests that Paula leave along with her food truck since is causing so much trouble. Paula refuses citing their agreement.
Oh good grief! MALena thinks she's pregnant and convinces Rafa to get her a pregnancy test. He goes and talk Gracia into getting him the test. As he cries, Andrea approaches and sees him crying so he tells her he was remembering when she was a baby. She thinks he is also remembering her mother, but NOPIS! He tells her that her mother is dead to them and will NEVER return! Isn' that a TN trope??
Lorenzo confronts Isabel with the results of the DNA test. He tells her he hasn't seen them yet and asks her to tell him the truth...is Rafa his son? She gets nervous and defensive, so that is all Lor needs to be convinced that Rafa is indeed his son. Later, Isabel reads the results and murmurs that the results are wrong...no puede ser!
Yikees!! Reni sees Emil and Lucia kissing. Watch out, Lucia!! Lucia admits to Emil the she likes him.
MAL tells Pepe that Paula slapped her, but he knows that MAL must have provoked Paula. He goes back to talk to Paula who tells him that MAL did provoke her. After some discussion, Pepe convinces Paula to leave since it's best for both of their families. He somewhat admits that he has been thinking of things that can't be..and she agrees that they can't be...
Rolando tries to turn the tables on Natalia telling her that now that he is marrying Paula, he will not allow her to mess with the company or Paula, but she has the upper hand...telling him the she recorded him confessing what he did....killing Paula's husband with his own hands! He will have to share everything he gets with her. She OWNS him!
It's obvious HATPaula and Pepe are trying to convince themselves that it's best that Paula leave.
Alex asks Isabela what is going on. Isabela cries that Lorenzo's return has caused many problems she could be losing her family.
Alex denies to Pepe that he had anything to do with someone going to Paula's house with a tank of gas...and he has no idea who it could have been (as he looks toward MAL's business cabin).
For asks Marcos how he got Rafa's hear sample and figures out it could have been someone else's hair.
Reni confronts Lucia and warns her to stay away from him...FFW....
Paula tells Lor that she feels weak and is in pain sometimes. She wants to return to Mexico City. When she tells the kids, they don't want to go back. Emil argues that he feels close to his father there. When Paula says that she feels him close too, Diego loses it asking how she can feel him close if she is going to marry Rol. Paula tells them that she is doing everything for them, but they convince her to stay...it's quieter there and more calm..they are making new friends there. Lor points out that the food truck can be parked anyone.
I can't believe Emiliano actually suggested he and Lucia have a relationship when he has a girlfriend. It's hard for him to break up with her. I don't care how old he is, you are never too young to respect people. Paula really didn't spend any time teaching him about treating women well. Why do they make supposedly cool guys into such cowards who don't have pantalones to do what is actually hard?
Paula acted kind of offended/disappointed, but I'm surprised because someone clearly doesn't want her here and she insists she wants peace. She might fancy Pepe, but I'd pick peace over him. His decision to tell her to leave makes it seem he is more aware of what he feels for her, given that her marriage would make things worse for Pepe.
How long before Malena tries to drug Pepe, get him into bed and pass the baby off as his? Rafa lacks the guts to stop her. I wonder what happened to his first wife. If she left him, the guy has awful taste in women because Malena is a bad choice too.
Thanks! I have had more time lately so was able to do more complete summaries.
Diana, it seems like Jorge El Vidente must be a favorite of producer Rosy Ocampo. He seems to pop up in her productions here and there.. He had a more continuous and influential role in "La fea más bella". As for "Dulce", I never had heard of her and now I know who she is. : ) "In contrast, Manuela and Pablo’s love scene was sweet (if rather passionless) and well-choreographed." I so agree that it was "passionless" but also a little risqué for Uni early evening. Too funny. Yes, I also think that some how Leandro is the reason that Dulce refuses to visit with Amanda.
Liz, "One thing I’m ok with is Leandro doing whatever to Nico. He was really worse last night than ever before." You can say all of that again. I could not believe it when he was swearing at Amanda and then shoved Enrique to the ground. He deserves what he gets. I think that Leandro would even be more upset if he knew how he treated his mother actually swearing at her. "I find it strange that Edgardo isn’t the only staff member involved in sexual harassment at the school. I guess that’s why Yaneli was put out instead of firing Edgardo." That makes sense! It will bd interesting to see where that storyline ends up.
Sorry to disappear like this, but these days were hectic for me.
Dear Diana, thanks so much for your amazing recap. A big thank you to Waterlily for adding important information.
I think Sara is going to die. Plus, I don't buy all this "suddenly turned good". Ugh.
The Patricio storyline is interesting. The La Patrona one was quite different. Is anyone interested? If so, tell me and I'll write how that went.
I find almost all Emilia-Leonardo scenes cringe.
Thank you very much for your kind words Weirdo.
I may be completely wrong but I think if Sara were going to die, she would have died immediately. But, the writers may well decide to drag out her death, just as they did this entire story!! :)
Yes, I'm very intersted in Patricio's storyline in the original version. No rush, when and if you have time... I will be even more interested in how the original turned out compared to this. We will need to wait on that but I would love to hear and especially, which version was better.
Diana
Diana
Thank you so much for your superb recap that explained so much Rgv Chick! It was fantastic.
Pepe was shocked and awed when Rolo referred to Paula as his future wife! And NOT in a good way. The green eyed monster and a nonhealthy dose of hurt fueled his fire to get her to leave. Paula, it was your harebrained idea to marry Rolo. Be careful for what you ask for.
"He tells her that her mother is dead to them and will NEVER return! Isn't that a TN trope??" made me smile away. That means her return is imminent and I love the actress who portrays her. I will say no more for now. :)
"Lor asks Marcos how he got Rafa's hear sample and figures out it could have been someone else's hair". At least someone is thinking. I think Isa was beside herself because the results were negative...
Paula's boys are selfish and self-centered although Diego rightfully called Paula out on Rolo.
Diana
Super job, Jarifa. So we get two sex scenes that are polar opposites. During both I was thinking "Yay, Jarifa catches a break with less dialogue!" :>
From the camera angle of the Leandro-Carmina couch, I'm wondering if Leandro secretly recorded them.
Poor Pablito. Hurting physically and emotionally.
I enjoyed Brisa Portugal performing the theme song too. Finally our foursome just have some fun.
Niecie, thanks, the breaks definitely were appreciated! Good guess: "From the camera angle of the Leandro-Carmina couch, I'm wondering if Leandro secretly recorded them." It wouldn't surprise me at all.
Diana and Waterlily, our dynamic duo ! I haven't had a chance to watch this episode yet , but I appreciate you both bringing us every moment as we bravely walk together , arm in arm to the finale .
Well, we are inching our way to the finish line . I feel that the writers are going to give us a sacrificial lamb , perhaps more than one . I am hoping they do not kill off Sebas, Dan, or Aleida .
Marat seems to have been brought in as a pinch hitter to protect various ladies....Zaire, Aleida ...when Sebas is otherwise occupied . Oddly, Orlando, the big , beautiful chief of police , has not been much help protecting or helping anyone, including himself . I think Aleida will get her HEA in the form of silver fox , late starter to the game , Marat.
Zaire and Tigre will stay together . Meh. #whatever
Gigi has transformed her flighty , superficial self and is a devoted mother and will be a wonderful abuela, so she gets her HEA in the firm of a grandchild AND young suitor Manuelito . You go, girl. #maydecember #girlsjustwanthavefun
Perhaps we just have to come to terms with annoying Miriam winding up with Sebas . I guess the best HEA we can wish for sweet Sebas is staying alive .
Em and Leo will end up together and need counseling for their mutual past traumas.
The anvils are hovering over the heads of Rob, Fidel, Addled, and Ezkiel . Patricio already got his. Adios , you made some truly bad decisions . Susan
Susan, thank you for your (always) kind remarks.
Loved "#maydecember #girlsjustwanthavefun". I wish a happy ending for Gigi, she is one of the few characters who has exhibited emotional and spiritual growth.
If Marat is to end up with Aleida, I wish he hadn't gone head over heels for Zaira. Aleida deserves to be first, not second choice.
I think long prison terms would suit Ez and Addled very well. I don't see Roberta surviving. I feel she will meet her maker (the devil) whether it be from jail or not. I would not have a problem having Fidel meet a dire end as well.
Diana
Forgot to mention Sara's " orange is the new black "pants suit . ha ! At least she had pants on. I have noticed that new fashion trend of just wearing the jacket !! Susan
Thanks Rgv Chick, that was great. I kept hoping someone would discover Rolando and Natalia but I guess it’s too early in the game.
I’m glad the kids all want to stay there. That forces Paula to remain. I liked how Lorenzo pointed out she could park the food truck anywhere. I wish he would say he would take the kids. He is their grandfather and should love them more than Paula thinks Rolando loves them.
I never thought of Malena trying to seduce Pepe and pass off the baby. But that is what she’ll have to do. And now that he thinks Paula is marrying Rolando she might be able to do it.
I think it’s funny Isabel needs to wonder about the DNA test. She deserves that. She had to have had an affair while married.
Liz
Gracias, Jarifa. Sorry to be so late.
I've been wondering whether the stalker was the monster who raped Manuela. If I'm right it would be hard to think of anything worse. Could Leandro be behind this?
So... we finally know how Franco got infected. However, his parents are still idiots.
Chickie, thank you for a snappy recap .
I had no idea what the conversation between Rol and Nat was about. I was fascinated watching Too because i think it is the first time I ever saw a villain doing yoga. I find Nat's voice and attitude very annoying . I want to see her get a massive anvil.
Alternate title for this show could be " Hats." Diego never takes off that bucket hat ...why? However, Rafa has made that knit beanie a constant prop . He puts it on , takes it off, and puts it on again all in the same scene. He pulled it over his eyes when he was hungover and hid the papers from his Tia in his beanie. We should have made a drinking game out of that beanie. I may have to put my own telenovela beanie on to continue watching this show.
Wanted to mention that I like Lucero in the intro singing the theme song. She looks great . Susan
RgvChick – thank you for your great recap!!!
”He tells her(Andy) that her mother is dead to them and will NEVER return! Isn' that a TN trope??”
Yes it is and it’s almost a clear guarantee she will show up before this is over.
Yes, muy obvio that Paula & Pepe were trying to convince themselves that her leaving is the best idea. That conversation sure dragged on.
waterlily – ITA about Emiliano. He is either too chicken to face the wrath of Reni if he breaks up with her, or he wants her as a safety net in case the relationship with Lucia fizzles.
”How long before Malena tries to drug Pepe, get him into bed and pass the baby off as his?”
Diana - I was thinking the same thing. Telenovela trope #48.
I wonder where they’ll park the food truck next?
Jarifa, thank you for her another detailed recap of all the drama.
I can't imagine who Julieta's creepy stalker is . The best guess is probably Manuela's rapist carrying a lifelong grudge against her .
The two love scenes were two sides of a coin . It was interesting that the scene between Carmina and Leondro was shown from a distance and blurry , while the scene between Manuela and Pablo was up close . Diana, it was carefully choreographed and bland . meh . Susan
Here is what I got. ; )
-Manuela is upset and tells Pablo about the texts and shows him the photos of Julieta. She feels GULITY for not taking better care of her daughter. She goes home and lets everyone know that somebody is following Julieta. She fears for her and herself. She only wants Julieta to be protected.
-Manuela falls asleep and remembers her sexual assault. She noisily awakens from her nightmare. Julieta hears her and is scared. Manuela does not tell her what the nightmare was about but asks that Julieta sleep with her to feel more secure.
-Genaro doesn't want Yaneli to lose sight of her schooling and career while trying to make Edgardo pay for his misdeeds. She is not worried about getting into a better prep school but is worried about getting into the public university due to the fact that she didn't go to a traditional prep school. There are few slots available for people like her.
-Irineo tells Leandro that there is no information about Manuela prior to her adoption by Angeles. Leandro tells him to keep looking. As for Genaro, Irineo says that he has gone back to the same miserable life he had before being in jail.
-Amanda still feels bad that Dulce doesn't want to see her. Yaneli is only going to see Dulce because of Genaro.
-Julieta doesn't want therapy. Manuela says she is worried because she doesn't know why she got the injections. Julieta ends up lying saying it was social media.
-Pablo meets with Dulce at the center. We find out that she and Genaro were never novios. He asks if she is interested in living with him. She does not know. When the nightmare is over, she wants to be able to stand on her own two feet. He tells her that Pablito wants to see his brother Damián. He doesn't know that Damián has changed. She has confidence that Pablito will accept her because he is free of the prejudices that Pablo and Carmina have. She is dying to see him.
-Julieta is being harassed by fellow classmates because somehow the tale of her injections has made it to Amibuk. Julieta is upset.
-Pablo arrives at Pablito's room only to find Nancy who he sends on her way. Dulce comes in and has a heartfelt reunion with her brother. Carmina arrives and has to ruin it all by attacking Dulce. Pablito tells his mother to leave Dulce alone!! Pablo protects Dulce from Carmina's physical attack. Carmina tells Dulce she is going to hell. Dulce says she will be waiting for her there. Dulce leaves.
-Carmina tells Pablo that she is going to have Leandro get HER custody of Pablito from him. She is also going to get Leandro to get an order to keep Damián away from Pablito.
-Edgardo comes to the pet shop and tells Manuela that the videos are not going to work and that they will all be sorry for what they did. She will be kneeling and asking for him to forgive her. Enrique throws him out.
-Paloma meets with Franco's parents to try to educate them some more and get them to accept their son. His parents are not interested. His mother sees HIV as a punishment sent from God for the dirty things he did. Paloma must have AIDS like him. The father tells Dulce that their son is dead to them. Paloma confesses all to Franco and makes it sound more positive than what it really was. She is sure his parents will come around. They just need time.
-Franco's rent has gone up and he cannot afford it. Paloma invites him to "rent her couch" He accepts insisting it won't be forever.
-When Julieta comes home, Angeles doesn't know she is there with her mother and comments that with what happened she is sure that Manuela didn't allow Julieta to go to school. Julieta demands to know "what happened" that she shouldn't go to school for like a week! She asks her mother if she is or not Angeles' daughter. Brisa said something that made her wonder. They also have had different versions about her grandfather Crispín. Angeles tells her that she adopted Manuela in Matamoros when she was very young. She loved her like any child she would have carried. There is more to tell but she is not ready. She asks Julieta not to tell anyone. Julieta asks why Manuela is so afraid and is not allowing her to go to school. Manuela explains there is a person who is harassing them and she didn't want anything to happen to her. She thinks it is the same person what attacked Dulce. Julieta thinks her father could help them. Manuela tells her she fears that her father would use the situation to his advantage to take her away. Suddenly Leandro is at the door.
-Manuela explains to Leandro that somebody has been following Julieta and her around and is harassing them. Yes, she has already notified the police. He wants them to come and stay with him. Julieta doesn't want to go. His next idea is a bodyguard for Julieta. Manuela thinks that whoever is following them is the person who attacked Dulce.
-Nico comes to pick up his kids at Amanda's. She tells them they are not going anywhere with them. Just as he is threatening to call the police involved, Tamara shows up . The kids are not too sure about her or about their father. They decide not to go with either of them but stay with Amanda for the time being. Nico and Tamara continue to fight. Tamara finds out that Nico could win custody of her children!! Amanda asks Tamara if she really came back to be with her kids and be the mother they need.
-Dulce tells Vicky that she s still not sure enough about her father to go and live with him. Yaneli tells Dulce that Genaro is there to see her. Genaro apologizes for having been so violent when she told him about being transgender. He says his macho ideas, homophobic ideas and transphobic ideas were a product of how he had been raised. He wants to change. She respects him. She apologizes what he went through because of her. They hug. Genaro encourages her to tell who attacked her. Dulce tells him it is very complicated and she is afraid to. Genaro insists that the attacker pay. He also mentions that Leandro told him that the attacker could keep making his life difficult. He says that Leandro was worried especially when he heard they had beat and threatened him many times in jail. Dulce is visibly upset and tells Genaro that since they have said what they needed to each other, it is better to close this chapter of their lives. They are both in tears as Genaro leaves.
-Dulce has seen the doctor and tells Vicky that she will be going back to the shelter. Vicky asks how she is feeling. Physically she is feeling better but emotionally not so much so. There are so many problems. Vicky says some those problems could be dealt with if she named her attacker. Dulce just wants to run away if she is being honest. Dulce knows that but needs to talk to Manuela firstmif she is going to tell who attacked her.
-The hoodied man is watching the Atenea Center .
-Vicky calls Manuela at home where she is still with he family and Leandro. Vicky has good news. Dulce is ready to name her attacker but only after she talks with Manuela. Leandro overhears that Dulce is ready to identify her attacker.
-Leandro apologizes to Manuela for his previous attitude. He was just so worried about Julieta. If she has somewhere to go, he will watch Julieta and will not steal her away. Julieta agrees that Manuela can go and her father can take care of her.
-The police come calling for Susana the Elder and Nacho. Desirée has named them as her accomplices. The prosecutor needs to see them.
-Sandra, one fo Eduardo's' victims, tells Yaneli they have to take down her video. She is getting threats.
-Manuela goes to the center looking for Dulce. She is told Dulce is most likely waiting for her in her office. Dulce is not there but the hoodied man without his hoodie is. He closes the door and asks how she has been. He hopes that (she) Viioleta hasn't forgotten about him.
My apologies but I simply cannot stand Lanus. He doesn't act. He chews up the scenery, over and over and over again. It's especially annoying, because the rest of the cast act normally.
Strong Women Rescue Themselves With Not A Galan In Sight
Roberta has her gun trained on Emilia as Leo is on the ground administering to Sara, putting pressure on the wound which is spurting blood like a geyser.
Roberta taunts Emilia and then starts in on Sara, calling her a traitor. Adios Emilia Roberta says and fires…
We return to Ramiro, where the bad miner easily overtakes and then viciously stabs him. Marijo rushes over but he grabs her and holds the knife to her throat, nuzzling her neck with sloppy, cringeworthy, wet licks masquerading as kisses.
Roberta must have fired at the ground as Emilia is still standing! But the USB has fallen on the ground and Roberta picks it up. Roberta is taunting Sara on the ground, moaning in agony saying she will get Jenny too.
During everything that is transpiring, Leo makes absolutely NO move to defend Emilia, either physically or verbally. He looks up seemingly halfheartedly interested, but lamentably, our non-galan does nothing. Nada. Zilch.
When Roberta threatens Nico, Emilia bravely jumps toward her, grabbing the gun from her! Ezequiel, with his hands up, scurries off like the scared rabbit he is. Sara seems to be convulsing on the ground. She asks Leo to call Danilo. Danilo and Miriam are having breakfast with the children when his cell rings. “Hermosa” Danilo begins but Leo tells him Sara has been gravely hurt and he needs to go to the hospital.
The sick miner holds Marijo as he is accused of being La Patrona’s accomplice. Gael tries to talk to the increasingly unhinged miner and is getting nowhere. So what does Marijo do? Like Emilia, she saves herself, biting the miner, kicking him and breaking away. He is livid but is quickly overtaken. Ramiro declares his guilt as he lies on the ground, gut bleeding.
Marat joins the crowd asking where Leo is. Marat tries to tell Zaira it will be all right and Tigre overtly mocks him. Take notes buddy I say exasperated.
Leo calls Sebas and fills him in; Roberta shot Sara. Marat offers to go with Sebas. A green-eyed Tigre mockingly asks Zaira if she wants to go with her novio. Tigre ends up going and to my surprise, Marat and Zaira share some sweet and deep kisses. Finally, Zaira breaks away saying they have to go.
Diana
Aleida and Orlando are at the station giving their testimonies. All of a sudden, Flor shows up with the other restaurant workers, vouching for Orlando’s character. Aleida holds Orlando’s hand and then he hugs Flor. She thanks him and his mother and Aleida and Orlando thank the workers with a heartfelt gracias chicas. Later, Orlando tells Flor how special she is. She explains how worried she is about her mother as he pulls out a huge stack of bills and puts them in her hand. He urges her to go and to take care. Thank you she says in tears. They hug and from the pained expression on his face, I think Orlando does have feelings for her.
Sebas and Tigre meet up with a bunch of miners; they disperse to try and track down Emilia and Roberta. Meanwhile, Emilia is chasing after Roberta (her stunt double actually) who falls down, expertly rolling down a hill.
Leo is at the hospital talking on the phone to Sebas. Danilo comes running down the hall and Leo tells him Sara’s condition is very bad. “Where is my hija” Addled thunders as he runs up, ready to beat Danilo to a pulp. Addled is screaming like a madman and Leo has to hold him back, urging him to concentrate on Sara. Gigi and Jenny arrive and Gigi beats on his chest blaming him for everything. Jenny tells her to calm down as Leo holds Gigi back. Let her go I silently urge; Addled needs a good whupping. Sadly, Leo pays no heed.
Roberta hurt her arm in the fall as Emilia catches up to her. Roberta goes on a rant about stupid Ignacio but Emilia, who has heard more than enough, demands she get up, grabbing her by the bad arm.
The doctor and nurses attending to Sara are gowned up but universal precautions be damned as Danilo rushes in without scrubs or gloves. The doctor says her condition is critical. Danilo begs her to get better as he looks through the glass. “Maldito Roberta” Danilo mutters under his breath, and then races off.
Addled, sitting on a bench in the hospital corridor, hallucinates that a young girl comes up to him. I thought it was Romina but then heard “papa” so perhaps it was Sara as a child? Regardless, Fidel’s call brings him out of his reverie. From their conversation, it seems Addled didn’t know Victoria IS Emilia.
Orlando shows up and Leo gives him a better reception than the last time they met. He asks how Sara is, looking at Gigi and Jenny, sitting and waiting.
Leo is outside the hospital when a car roars up, almost hitting him. I was confused here; did the driver throw a cell phone out of the car (??)
Ramiro shows up at the police station flanked by Gael and Marijo. He admits he sabotaged the mine with explosives; at La Patrona’s request.
Diana
Marijo worries, asking Gael if Joaquina will be released and he tries to reassure her with kisses.
Addled gets out of his car hyperventilating and berating himself, he heaves next to the car, realizing what he has done to his family. He bangs on the car, hurting his delicate hand in the process, crying out in frustration.
Sebas is searching when Ezequiel the snake slithers behind him, hitting him with a huge tree branch. Before he can inflict more damage, Ezequiel hears Tigre and Leo coming and runs off.
Olando talks to Gigi at the hospital. She tells him that Jenny love him. If only she’d left it there! She continues telling him Jenny is pregnant. He whispers that is impossible but Gigi declares it a miracle. He hugs her but he doesn’t look all that thrilled (although I am not sure why).
Jenny is comforting Sara.; when Danilo arrives, she tries to reassure him. He wipes tears from his eyes and sits down, taking her hand.
“Danilo” Sara murmurs. The doctor arrives shortly thereafter with more bad news. Sara will not survive without a transplant. Jenny and Gigi come in and hear the news as does Zaira and Marat. Danilo slumps in a chair while Jenny puts her hands on her mother’s shoulder. Aleida comes in and Orlando hugs her. Aleida urges him to talk with Jenny which he pointedly ignores, instead, kissing her hand. He and Jenny look at each other across the room.
Roberta and Emilia are still marching through the woods. Emilia turns her back for a moment and just as she is going to hit Emilia over the head, Leo finally does something helpful, grabbing the branch from her.
Jenny goes to leave the room but Orlando stops her. She brings up Flor but he asks her to sit down. He tells her Aleida is his mother! Jenny tells him how happy she is. As she doesn’t volunteer even a tidbit, Orlando asks Jeny if she is pregnant. She admit it and he declares “I love you”. All ended well with kisses as Aleida smiles from the corridor.
Emilia, Leo, Sebas and Tigre bring Roberta in front of the policewoman. Fidel walks in seemingly declaring himself in charge and steps in front of Roberta who smiles smarmily.
Zaira lays her hands on Sara as Gigi stands next to her, Marat is there as well. Semi-conscious, Sara is worried about Romina. How bad is it she asks. Addled bursts in and wants to take her away. Is he insane? It’s a rhetorical question, of course.
Roberta starts to defend herself as Tigre loudly calls her mentirosa. Fidel allows that Roberta can give her statement. Ezequiel the little weasel rushes in, declaring Emilia is the criminal. With an ominous look, eyes darting furtively around the room, Fidel declares it isn’t Emilia who is going to jail, rather it is Roberta! Shock and awe reverberate throughout the room as Roberta stares with anger and incredulity.
Diana
Diana, this was absolutely lovely. Your sense of humour is incredible. It appears all of us who recap this end up just being rather sarcastic because...well, what else is there to do?'our non-galan does nothing. Nada. Zilch.' and 'it's a rrhetorical question' were some of my favourites.
We learn one thing: Leo can save you from being hit with a tree branch. I kept wondering why he didn't say anything when Roberta was threatening Emilia and Sara.
Roberta admitted to Emilia she killed Ignacio's first wife who apparently introduced Ignacio to Roberta and opened her the doors of her home. Roberta made her take some kind of pills which killed her.
Fidel actually was planning to run away if he saw the good guys might be winning. Addled was like 'what if Roberta and Emilia finish each other off?' Fidel told him they aren't safe while the good guys are alive because apparently the higher-ups and everyone else, including the 'good bosses' (who are they?), are looking for Fidel and the rest of them. Fidel told Addled to kill Leonardo, which he failed to do. It was rather funny he threatened Tereza later he'd kill her if she calls Gigi.
I was a bit sad Gigi thought Jen and Orlando should make up just for the kids. Their situation is obviously different, but hasn't she learnt anything from living in such a horrid marriage?
Your comment on Orlando's pained expression makes me wonder just how in love with Jen he really is. Flor got to escape...But wouldn't the authorities come looking for her? Or can you avoid jail completely if you turn everyone else in?
Sounds like Sara might be saved. But what is wrong with her kidneys? because whenthe doctor was telling them her kidneys were damaged,it also seemed he used the word hypertension and said even dialysis won't repair the damage.
Is Miriam going to do anything else besides babysitting the kids?
Tigre outright forbid Marat from going to look for Emilia. Before that, when Marat said everything will be fine, he said 'listen to him Zaira, he can read the future just like you can.' I just want him to shut up. Maybe Zaira was always too patient with him so he thinks he can do anything. I wonder what he'd do if she left with Marat, again become bitter and angry?
Roberta told Fidel in the previous episode she hoped soon his wife along with his dear son will be dead. Fidel now chose to betray her. I wonder if he does this just for his own gain or if he realised she will finish off even the one person Fidel might want to keep alive.
Leonardo finally told Addled he should think about his daughter for once in his life. I stll can't believe he deliberately encouraged her to get into politics, knwoing how dangerous it was. It's not like they could be absolutely sure she'd stay in power forever. It's actually a good thing he doesn't have a son. I don't even want to imagine a mini Addled.
Diana: Howdy from the Alamo City. Thank you very much for your recap of last night's episode. I noticed Marijo was barefoot when she kicked the Sick Miner's ass when she saved herself.
Waterlily: Body Count will be growing even further in the closing stretch of this Telenovela. Who will join the Body Count ?
Addled needs to stop thinking about himself.
Miriam babysitting the kids LOL. What else can she do ?
I've got a feeling Smarmy Fidel will plot one final sinister attack against Adelia & Co.,
Diana, thank you SO much for your truly remarkable recap. And Waterlily, thank you very much for adding all that important information.
The rhetorical question bit had me chuckling. It's great that all of us in the patio share the same sense of humour :)
Where to start... I'll start from the spot-on title. Can't this people find balance between women appearing weak and needing a man to save them and men not doing ANYTHING to help them? I want to punch Leo! If you think about it, holding the tree branch was the most galán-like thing he's ever done, which is saying A LOT.
Why, why, why did they have Orlando look as if he has feelings for Flor? Now I can't stop thinking he and Jenny got together for the baby. I strongly dislike these storylines.
I hope Zaira stays with Marat. Tigre doesn't deserve her. She's done more than enough and he's just whining. I swear, this guy motivated me a bit to lower my whining. I was already trying to do that and this dude just helped. Thanks, I guess.
Regarding Minas' OG, there wasn't exactly a Patricio. Our main villain (Antonia) had two loyal guys. One of them we don't care about, the other one, named Lucas, was the son of the annoying miner in the OG, who had a way smaller role than in this one. The annoying miner died in the mine explosion and his kid (Lucas) learnt to hate our protagonist (Gabriela). Fast forward to when Gaby returned with a fake name. Keep in mind that in the OG, the prota spend YEARS in the insane asylum and when she returned her kid (David) was an adult or almost an adult. Around 18 anyway. Lucas (who was also around 18 at that time) worked for Antonia and despised David. From the next point on he has a similar story with Patricio. When David got a girlfriend - this storyline was obviously cut in Minas - Antonia didn't want her to be David's girlfriend, because she was poor, long story. She asked Lucas to scare the girl so she leaves town. Lucas decided to rape her (1st common thing with Patricio), wearing a balaclava. Creepy stuff. I hated these episodes. (Btw, when Antonia found out, she slapped him. When she was younger she was also raped, so I guess it hit close to home.) David beat him up a bit and left. Antonia's other dude gave him some wounds that turned out to be fatal. Before he passed, he admitted to his crimes and Antonia's (2nd common thing) in front of Gaby and a cop, Rodrigo, who doesn't exist in Minas, but played a VERY important role in the OG.
As to which version is better, I'd say La Patrona. I do want to give Minas a chance to redeem itself, although it won't turn out to be better than La Patrona tbh, at least in my eyes.
Great work, Diana.
I don't recall seeing this mentioned but the women who came to help Orlando at the police station told the female cop that Fidel is also guilty of white slavery. Fortunately the cops took them seriously and Fidel has more than Roberta to worry about.
How is it that Sara needs an immediate transplant? Not even a week or two of dialysis? Oh, yes, plot driver.
Waterlily, I love your comment about Addled: It's actually a good thing he doesn't have a son. I don't even want to imagine a mini Addled. Idiot always thought too highly of himself to even care about his daughters. At least we can hope the writers will have mercy on Miriam's son by sparing Sebas who is a good father to this child who is already more of a man than his sperm donor.
I think the driver did throw away a cell phone. Leo picked it up and held it the usual way before getting into his own car. However, I didn't notice the other car so I can't guess whose cell phone this is.
Thanks, Jarifa, I enjoyed your recap. They still haven’t said how old Manuela was when Angeles adopted her. I’m wondering if the man that attacked her was her father. The hooded guy called her by a different name, and that would get a child taken from their parent. Although he looked too young in the scene at the workplace.
I enjoyed the Dulce/Pablito reunion. Until Carmina showed up! Maybe Nancy will speak up about what Carmen is doing to Pablito, she did seem worried about it once.
I’m disappointed that Género and Dulce seem to be done with each other. I was hoping they’d at least become good friends.
Leandro is a puzzle. His first reaction was what I’d expect but then he apologized for how he acted. And he doesn’t seem worried after he heard Manuela’s phone conversation about Dulce naming her attacker. But he must be involved some way.
Neither Nico or Tamara deserve to be parents.
Liz
Thank you for your kind and encouraging words Waterlily! I so appreciate them.
Last night, women were doing it for themselves; and doing it admirably. No lack of heroines here…
You smartly (and hilariously) found the one thing our non-galan does well “We learn one thing: Leo can save you from being hit with a tree branch.” 😊
I so enjoy and savor every word of your comments.
You added so many important revelations in your wise, wry way. I hadn’t realized Roberta threatened Orlando but as you sagely noted,. Fidel’s motivation to turn on her likely was a mixture of both but primarily “…he realised she will finish off even the one person Fidel might want to keep alive”. He never seemed to care about or love his son but perhaps it was all ego, wanting his “legacy” to live on.
”Roberta admitted to Emilia she killed Ignacio's first wife who apparently introduced Ignacio to Roberta and opened her the doors of her home” was also important.
I find myself thinking about the look on Orlando’s face when he hugged Flor. A very disturbing seed of doubt has now been planted in my mind. I kept wondering if I misinterpreted it, I only wish I had. Further, Orlando did not exude the pure joy he had when Jenny found out she was first pregnant. We can only hope that with Flor leaving, the true love he seemed to have for Jenny initially will come flooding back.
I can’t imagine who the “higher ups” are either!! But I’m glad someone has their eyes trained on Fidel.
Diana
Great work, Jarifa.
I doubt that the hooded stalker was Manuela's rapist; he's too young. Manuela was no older than Julieta is now when that happened. However, I think he may have been Dulce's attacker and/or kidnapper and I'm sure that he is connected to Leandro.
Was Manuela's rape the reason she's always in jeans and sneakers and has such unflattering hair?
I really wish that writers would get off the Mandatory Reconciliation and Forgiveness bandwagon. I would be screaming at Franco's parents. People like them don't change. You have to wonder how "godly" they are when they reject a son -- who appears to be their only child -- and not only won't listen to reason from his novia, they her a slut. I would then tell Paloma she was wasting her time and should not be giving Franco any false hope over this. He is prepared to remain estranged from his parents and sometimes this is the best thing for one's mental health. When his mother conceived him did she close her eyes and pray to the Virgen for the act to end quickly?
Carmina is another head case. I want to kick her all the way to Chiapas for what she is doing to her own son and to Dulce. Her behavior in the hospital was truly unforgivable right there with deliberately compromising Paulito's health to keep a husband who is rightfully sick of her sick mind. I doubt she told Leandro what medical shenanigans she is up to with poor Paulito's condition or would he even care about that?
Edgardo needs a serious Karmageddon. I hate the thought of any of his accusers getting intimidated into dropping their charges against him.
Thank you Steve!
I had to smile at "Miriam babysitting the kids LOL. What else can she do ?"
Good point!!
Diana
Weirdo, thank you for your lovely, supportive words!
Oh my "Can't these people find balance between women appearing weak and needing a man to save them and men not doing ANYTHING to help them?" said it all!! You nailed one of the many frustrating elements of this TN.
I see we are all in agreement about Orlando. It was the one seemingly pure love story (at least from Orlando's perspective) that now seems tainted.
I also desperately want Zaira to leave with Marat. I thought the chemistry was palpable, one of the few couples here for which that is the case. Let Tigre sit and stew, something he excels at.
Thank you for your superb rendition of Minas'predecessor. I'm always interested in the similarities as well as the differences from the original. What you noted was fascinating and it will be interesting to see if "our" Minas manages to surpass La Patrona in your estimation. I look forward to hearing your take.
Diana
Thank you so much Urban!
I had not understood that Fidel had been accused of white slavery. I appreciate you noting that. Yes, Fidel now has far more to worry about than "just" Roberta!
Thank you for confirminng that the unknown driver did throw a cell phone from the car. I wonder who it was. I do think it will have incriminating evidence on it. We can hope!
Sebas is Miriam's son's father in every sense of the word, you are absolutely right.
I do think Sara is going to make it and I have to be honest, I'm rather glad but mostly for Romina and Danilo's sakes.
Diana
Jarifa, a superlative recap. You could not have captured everything more perfectly.
There were several poignant, heartbreaking scenes none more so than “Dulce is visibly upset and tells Genaro that since they have said what they needed to each other; it is better to close this chapter of their lives. They are both in tears as Genaro leaves”. I was crying as well, this scene was so touching as the actors seemed to morph into the characters, seeming all too real. That said, I was confused by “We find out that she and Genaro were never novios”. Huh?
Violeta? I keep wondering what the relationship is between the hoodie creep and Manuela’s rapist. Too much still shrouded in mystery.
I wish Manuela had kept Julieta more in the loop. Julieta is embroiling herself more in danger every day and needs to be keenly aware of how precarious her situation is. And now, Leandro has an opportunity to act as protector and savior. Sickening.
Speaking of, Carmina was like a wild animal trying to claw Dulce. How lovely that Pablito accepted Dulce immediately and with an open heart and arms. Pablo must immediately focus on getting full custody. Surely there is a lawyer who is intelligent enough to fight and win against smarmy Leandro.
Leandro did a great job of feigning surprise on Julieta being followed but I don’t’ believe anything he says or his supposed looks of shock and awe.
Hopefully, Dulce is somewhere safe. She has endured more than enough.
This story has me on the edge of my seat. You have done masterful justice to this Jarifa, thank you so, so much.
Diana
Diana , thank you so much for that exciting recap as these characters tumble and turn to the finale .
Thanks also to Waterlily and Urban for adding details as the writers are finally stepping on the gas.
I haven't had a chance to watch this episode yet .
Regarding the look on Orlando's face when he found out Jenny was pregnant again ...perhaps it was concern and trepidation . She has had several miscarriages , and when that happens , there is a sense of apprehension when another pregnancy occurs . I was surprised Jenny was pregnant because it seems to me that she just miscarried recently. However, we have seen Orlando's attraction to Flor ever since Fidel sent her to his office for a good time , but they ended up with Flor teaching him to dance . There was always a mutual attraction between those two, but Flor was a working girl, so maybe they don't get the galan like in Pretty Woman.
Well, lots of girl power happening . Lots of people getting bashed with tree branches .
Addled seems even more addled than usual as his toxic world is crumbling before his eyes .
Miriam, the babysitter ...ha. Susan
Thanks Diana, that was great. Loved the title. Thanks also to Waterlily for adding to it. I hate that I can’t understand all the conversations.
I’m all for Zaira going off with Marat. I think you’d have to work too hard to be happy with Tigre. But I think she’ll stay with Tigre.
We’ll, I got that Sara needed a transplant but didn’t know for what. But Danilo volunteers and Gigi thanks him. Is he a match?! I bet he is!
The tide has turned on Roberta but we still have a few more days. This is where I get disappointed. I’d like longer HEA and we usually get half of the last hour for that. Although we are seeing some now. I think Orlando cares for Flor but as a dear friend. And he’s sad to see her go, knowing they’ll probably never see each other again. But he’s always loved Jenny.
It was good to see Roberta without her evil smile at the end!
Liz
Thank you Susan!
I so appreciate your "Regarding the look on Orlando's face when he found out Jenny was pregnant again ...perhaps it was concern and trepidation . She has had several miscarriages , and when that happens , there is a sense of apprehension when another pregnancy occurs." It is an excellent point as he is trying to process everything in this miraculous pregnancy especially in view of her losing their much anticipated child. Orlando's expression is still haunting me though. I wish it weren't.
Knives, guns and tree branches seem to be weapons du jour, sadly.
Girl power forever, right? It's about time fiction mirrors real life.
Diana
Thanks so much Liz!
"I think Orlando cares for Flor but as a dear friend. And he’s sad to see her go, knowing they’ll probably never see each other again. But he’s always loved Jenny" is a very thoughtful interpretation. I hadn't thought of Orlando being sad he wouldn't see Flor again, I just wish the look had been more rueful than loving. But you are absolutely right in that he has always loved Jenny and that gives me hope.
"I’d like longer HEA and we usually get half of the last hour for that". Liz, that has always been one of my pet peeves. You nailed it, for whatever reason, the writers feel the action must carry into the final episode leaving precious little time for us to savor and enjoy the finally realized happy endings.
I'm hoping that Roberta will never have anything to smile about. Ever again!
Diana
Liz, thank you! Blogger ate my comment to you (twice) so am going to try and retype it.
I loved your comment on Orlando's "caring for Flor but as a dear friend". Yes, they were and he is going to miss her. And you totally hit the mark with the fact "Orlando has always loved Jenny. I just wish Orlando had looked more rueful than loving. :)
You astutely noted we always seem to get less than half an hour to bask in the glow of the much anticipated happy endings. It's so true! I don't know why the writers insist on continuing the action until the very last minute. We barely get to savor what we've waited months for!
I hope Roberta never has anything to smile about - ever again!
Diana

I don't think Roberta can win this one; she isn't as wily as Catalina Creel despite being just as toxic. However I want her dead if only for the peace of mind of those she can still hurt. All of them need shrinks at this point. In fact I also think that unless the police and political corruptions are cleaned up they should all leave this place.
Notes from the armchair..... just the high points.
Not much really happened.
Paula & family + Renata were out in the countryside having a wonderful time.
Susi overheard Paula on the phone with her doctor. Paula denied anything was wrong. Emiliano overheard THEM talking. Paula denies anything and that the tests she needs done are routine.
The doctor points out that two months have passed and the clock is ticking until Paula will die.
Maybe the next round of tests will give us some hope? I'm seated at the Hoping For a Miracle table on The Patio. Who will join me?
Lorenzo asked Rolo if he really loves Paula. Rolo is no fool, so of course he said yes.
MALena doesn't want the baby (yes, the test was positive). She never wanted her first two kids, cannot stand los esquincles. She only wanted Her + Pepe and nobody else to dilute Pepe's love for her. Can we add Narcissist to the list of MALena's personality disorders?
Rafa insists she keep it or he will tell the whole world that he's the father. We can see the wheels turning in MAL's head, plotting how to convince Pepe the baby is his.
Oops, Pepe now knows about MALena's pregnancy. MAL told him the father is some random guy from another town. I wanted to barf when she was so clingy to Pepe, begging him to forgive her. Ewww.
Marco, our comic relief, left Gracia an anonymous love note and some gorgeous girasoles. She is excited she has a secret admirer.
Gracias, Jarifa. Terrific job.
The scene between Dulce and Genaro was so bittersweet. In a long ago flashback, Genaro moved in to kiss Dulce but she demured. Dulce may say there was no love connection, but they were clearly affected by each other and I felt her longing for him.
Paloma sees herself as a "Ms. Fixit." Shame on her for giving Franco false hope about his parents. It's time to leave these people alone. They would only tear down Franco.
Doris, your witty and wry observations are fabulous as always.
"She only wanted Her + Pepe and nobody else to dilute Pepe's love for her. Can we add Narcissist to the list of MALena's personality disorders?" perfectly illustrated MALena's selfish core. She is just cringeworthy.
I've already found my seat at your "Hoping for a Miracle" table and am poised to order everyone a round of their beverage of choice. I keep thinking that either Paula was misdiagnosed or if not, some miracle cure will be found. Has there ever been a TN where the leading lady dies? Please writers, let's not start now.
Malena is relentless, without conscience. She brought out the big guns (so to speak), trying every trick in the book to seduce him, literally oozing sex appeal which Pepe was finding almost irresistable.
Rafa is a dolt. Snap out of it! Good heavens MALena IS rather attractive in a sluttish way but she isn't all that.
I love little Susi - what a sweetheart!
Diana
Gracias, Doris.
I hope Valenrino Lanus gets combat pay for that awful haircut and that scene with his character's seriously mental wife.
She has Borderline Personality Disorder and so does Renata. This is narcissism compounded by a serious fear of abandonment. There is no compelling reason for her to stay with Pepe, as he does not want her with him anymore and she does not love her children. They would be better off without her no question. That attempted arson could have hurt anyone and she doesn't give a flying damn. Rafa needs a shrink for being in love with her... and if she gets the Karmageddon she deserves she will lose him.
When Diego finds out about his mother's condition he will hit th ceiling.
Thank you all for your insightful comments. I have enjoyed reading them on the go. Busy day for me today; really a busy week. Can’t wait until tonight!
Susan
Thanks, Doris. I think it's a good thing I read your recap before watching the episode. This saved me a lot of anxiety.
It appears we won't get to use 'wrong daddy' card. I was very surprised. But if Pepe stays with her just so a kid would have a father or something, then it means he deserves to be fooled. He seems determined to leave her, though. Malena frankly scares me with her clingy behaviour. I was wondering what this is so thanks, urban, for solving my doubts for me. Do people with Bpd ever have stable relationships?
I don't know how Emiliano can stand Renata. No amount of hormones would make even tolerable. She is just immediately annoying in a sickly way.
Alex was pretty rude about Gracia's supposed pregnancy. It's so funny to me when someone points out something to a person who already knows that fact. Milagro or not, why couldn't he have kept his mouth shut? Both Lorenzo and Alex seem not just flawed, but just not very likable somehow.
Malena's speech about resenting her kids was awful. The funny thing is that she doesn't have the sense to realise her indifference to them was one of the factors that made her and Pepe's relationship worse. It feels that note just gave him a good enough reason to end it.I mean, did she think she could keep him with her forever using those tricks? She can manipulate her children but it doesn't occur to her a woman who would love her kids might show up. She obviously did, but every time a telenovela character acts the way she does, I remember someone telling me of an acquaintance of theirs that knew how to treat her husband and what to say and when. I don't know how much of a guarantee that was, but Malena should have acted long ago. I guess she is too selfish for that. What is she going to do now?
Thank you Doris and thank you Rvg Chick for the recaps. They really help me to understand the TN better.
Question: to whom is Marcos related? he does provide comic relief. I actually enjoy his character but don't understand where he fits in with the others.
Lester
Thanks Doris, for your high points from the arm chair.
Emiliano seemed to be getting along just fine with his girlfriend. He needs to learn a little about dating!
I was surprised that Pepe now knows about baby. I was sure she would convince him it was hers. I really thought she had him in her work she’d. He was stronger than I thought he would be. But I hope he’s not going to pretend the baby is his and stay with her. But I bet he is.
Liz
Lester - Marcos is the handyman at Paula's place, possibly the caretaker-in-residence. He isn't related to anyone.
Doris, thanks for the snappy recap.
Mal is exhausting as is her besotted lover, The Incredible Hulk in a beanie . I am getting really tired of Rafa squirming every time he is with Pepe. I feel so sorry for that poor bebe . Mal admits that she doesnt love her children ...and now she is going to bring another soul into her loveless orbit.
I did have a giggle when Mal decided that her tight , sexy dress wasn't going to be enough to seduce Pepe, so she pulled down the top. One thing I noticed is that she never smiles....not even an evil smile .

The HIT OR MISS Edition
The man in Manuela's office is from her past. His name is Heliberto. He is out of jail and is there to see her to make sure that justice is done for what she did. He paid for his crime now it is her turn. She doesn't know what he is talking about. She tells him to leave. She then asks what Dulce has to do this. When Vicky enters the office, he pushes her down to get out of there ASAP.
At the center, Dulce gets an envelope with a cellphone that is supposedly from her father. She asks why he didn't give it to her when she just saw him at the hospital. The phone rings and she goes to answer a call from her "papá.' She is terrorized as she answers. We find out nothing more about this call but Manuela and Vicky find her sobbing on the floor and wanting to get back to the shelter ASAP. Manuela and Vicky are thinking that Heliberto is her attacker. Dulce doesn't know what to think since she didn't see him. but wants to get back to the shelter ASAP. She also wants to talk to Amanda.
Manuela admits to Vicky that the man in the office is the one who has been following her and Julieta.
Julieta tells Leandro that her mother was adopted by Angeles in Matamoros. She is going to see if she can find out more.
Leandro has hired security for Julieta. He tells Manuela there will be man outside of the house. She meets with him and he finds out that Dulce still has not revealed who her attacker was but she seems like she might be ready to do so. He says that he has a feeling that there is something she doesn't want to tell him. She denies there is anything. She asks why he is Carmina's lawyer since he never does anything for nothing. He doesn't feel like he has to tell her.
Sandra makes Yaneli take down her video accusing Edgardo. She is being threatened. and her children are at risk. Genaro is nosy and eavesdropping per usual. Yaneli blames Edgar for the threats and he, as usual, tells her the complaints against him will make no difference.
Enrique advises Susan the Elder and Nacho to go with the police to clear up the situation with Desirêe. They will return later saying that Leandro was the one who filed the complaint against them when Desirée named them as accomplices. They will be closing down the spa any minute. Enrique basically says that Leandro is doing his job. Susana the Elder hired Desireé who is Nacho's girlfriend so they all share the responsibility. Amanda offers to talk to Leandro to see what she can do. Enrique sees her doubting his children's innocence. He tells her not to get involved. She suggests that he not get involved either and for both of them to allow their children to solve their own problems. This could affect what they have. He wonders about "what they have " because at this rate, it is probably better that they not even be business partners.
Both Pablo and his lawyer Carlos are wary of how things are going to go with Carmina now that Leandro is her lawyer. Pablo wants their home in Mexico City to be put in Carmina's name so she doesn't go running back with Pablito to Guadalajara. The ploy is woking as Carmina excitedly tells Nancy about the purchase of the house in her name. She is going to get as much as she can out of Pablo . The next thing is to threaten him with getting full custody of Pablo. She is also interested in Leandro.
Pablo feels bad that Dulce is not able to confide in him. He is worried about her. He wants to take care of her.
Franco wants to be sure that Paloma really wants him to move in with her. She does. Her parents pop by wanting to stay awhile and express the same doubts about Franco and his HIV. Paloma tells them they are not staying and Franco is moving with her. She is 30 and capable of running her own life. She adds that she has enough tamales in the freezer. It is their excuse to stop by. No more, please.
Pablo gets a call that the presentation of his business plan for Pablo's competition is tomorrow.
Tamara explains to her mother that she had to get away to really appreciate her children but now that she is back they have no use for her. She finds out that it is going to be hard to win them back. She is also planning on quitting her job and starting her own business.
Leandro and Irineo now know that their search has to go to Matamoros and back to the times when Angeles was famous.
Uncle Ricky is going out and loans his phone to Julieta while he is out. (REALLY?) She texts Chiro telling him that she doesn't like him because the last time he texted, he called her ugly when the ugly one is him. His change in attitude puts him on her list to be cancelled. She asks if he were the one who took pictures of her and sent them to her mother. Chiro asks why she thinks why he is the one who took the photos and sent them to her mother. Julia asks if she did something for him to change his attitude towards her. He answers telling her to think about if she did do something for him to change his attitude. Julieta wonders. She also see terrible comments about her and her injections on the social networks.
Julieta is going to do school online so she can avoid all ofter ugly drama about her on the social networks.
A street thief steals Nico's phone from him. He finds the guy and punches him a couple of times to get his phone back. the thief escapes.
Angeles tells Manuela she cannot believe that after all this time Heliberto has appeared. Manuela says she couldn't find out whether he attacked Dulce or if he was the one to send the photos. She is almost sure he was the one who sent the photos. Angeles wants her to stay far away from Heliberto. Manuela feels like she ahas to talk to him to know what he is after. She goes on to says IF THEIR SECRET GETS OUT, HER WHOLE LIFE WILL BE DESTROYED. Angeles is very upset. Manuela insiss she has to find out if what Heliberto is referring to with his call for justice having to do with . . . she knows that Angeles knows what she is talking about . (but we don't) Angeles asks Manuela if she thinks that he already knows what she does. Manuela doesn't answer. She ends up making an appointment to see Heliberto. She tells Angeles she is going to meet him in a park. It is perfect because there are always a lot of people around. Angeles is still afraid for her.
Pablo tells Carmina that he is going to fight her for custody of Pablito. She reminds him of when he threw his teenage son out of the house. That will not help his case. Pablito comes home. Pablo is not happy with Pablito's current doctor and wants to find somebody for another opinion. Of course, Carmina disagrees.
Amanda is reunited with Dulce. They are both happy to see each other. Dulce tells her that her son-in-law NICO was the one who attacked her.
Leandro comes to Carminaa's house to bring a gift for Pabllito. He starts to put the moves on her wondering if what happened once between them could happen again. They could have a public relationship. Carmina isn't going for the bait because she knows that he really wants to aggravate Manuela and, also, Pablo by being chummy with Pablito. Leandro says that is why he likes Carmina so much. She is smart. He also sees better times for them ahead if she trusts him. They will end up winning.
Manuela meets with Heliberto. She asks him why he suddenly appeared after all these years. What does he want? He tells her to stop playing around. She knows what he wants. After getting out of jail, he found out about everything. She asks what is "everything"??? She asks why he hurt Dulce. He has no idea who Dulce is. He is there for her (Violeta). He is there to make sure justice is done. He is going to give her two options on how to pay for what she is to blame for.
FIN
Susan, yes, there are a lot of familiiar faces on Netflix. This last hear I saw “El Rey” with Jaime Camil, “Daughter from another Mother “ with Ludwika Paleta, Paulina Goto and Matías Novoa and “Thursday’s Widows” with Zuria Vega just to name a few. Yes, Netflix has great productions from both Latin America and Spain. I will have to give “Griselda” a look. : )
We meet again, at the turn of the tide. A great storm is coming, but the tide has turned – Tolkien
With a dark, dour expression, his hooded eyes darting furtively around the room, Fidel declares it isn’t Emilia who is going to jail, rather it is Roberta! Everyone is in shock as they try and process what just transpired. Roberta presses her thin lips together, face reflecting fury and disbelief.
Roberta calls Fidel an idiot (true, that) but he is resolute and she will be processed. Maldito traitor she sneers! The officers are called forward to take her away. She is defiant in the face of defeat. Obsequious Ezequiel squirms uncomfortably. Fidel shares little as Leo confronts him with a stony stare.
At “Hospital Central” Addled is still ranting and raving as Gigi screams back. Addled seems not to accept Sara needs a transplant. Sara wakes up and says “mama”. Marat tells Addled that the important thing is that your daughter lives. Addled runs toward Sara and it appears he is trying to unhook her from the machines. Gigi chases him out as Sara cries and writhes on the bed.
Cheery, chatty Cayetana is visiting Joaquina when Roberta is brought in, fighting like the caged animal she now is. And just when things look like they can’t get more dire for Joaquina, she finds out she has a new cellmate – Roberta!
Gigi upbraids Addled for pursuing money at the expense of his family. He grabs her and Marat has to interfere. Marat says how brave Gigi is (he is quite the charmer isn’t he?). Addled threatens Gigi on his way out as Marat and Zaira flank her protectively. Gigi cautions Marat to be careful and thanks Zaira as Zaira winks at Marat.
Tigre tells Gael Roberta is going to jail.
Sebas, Leo and Emilia have a coffee klatch with the policewoman. Later, Leo confides that Joaquina is his “real” mother much to her utter shock.
#foreverplaid Fidel throws a coffee cup at Addled when he enters his office. I’m not an assassin Addled mutters. It seems as though Addled thinks Fidel is going to shoot him but no, he offers him a cigar!
Diana
Aleida, Orlando, and Jenny are enjoying breakfast. Jenny is smiling and happily eating, a fact not lost on Orlando. Orlando ‘s chair is right next to Jenny’s; he watches her adoringly with a protective arm around her. Aleida is beaming watching them (as am I) and enthuses about her nieto. This sweet scene is interrupted when Orlando receives a text from Sara.
Miriam and Sebas talk as Andres and Romina play in the background. Miriam puts her hands on his face and they kiss rather longingly and passionately. Then she pushes him away and says thank you for everything. Andres calls him “papi” which breaks my heart. The two embrace and then Miriam, her suitcase and Andres leave. Little Romi stands in the corner as Sebas casts a sad look at the closed door.
Back at Tigre and Zaira’s, Nico, Emilia, Gael, Marijo and Cayetana discuss the situation. Is Sara going to die Nico asks. No Emilia reassures him as he starts crying. Roberta is in jail Tigre announces, not helpfully. My abuela Nico asks, adding he is sad as Emilia comforts him, stroking his hair.
Orlando is at Sara’s bedside. He tells her Sara is pregnant and Sara actually seems happy. She asks forgiveness although I could not translate the majority of what was said. Kindly fill in if you can. Danilo comes in and sits on the bed. She strokes his cheek and Orlando leaves saying he is going to see Jenny. The doctor comes in and they talk about Danilo hopefully being compatible so he can donate his kidney Danilo she says softly as he can barely restrain his grief. Be calm Sara urges as Danilo kisses her hands, despondent.
Trapped like a rat, Roberta is hitting her bed with fists of fury. She then rises like a madwoman and runs to Joaquina, choking her. She insults her, calling her a servant. Leo comes in and rather than immediately calling for help, slow on the uptake, ineffective Leo tries to reach through the bars although it is clearly a physical impossibility that he could reach either woman. Had it been superwoman Emilia, she would have bent the bars back and gained access by sheer force of will. I digress. As Joaquina is stuck with Leo, she has to wait until he finally does call for help!
Miriam and Andres have barely made it across the street when Sebas chases after them and it is immediately clear he will not let them go. Are we going to be a family Andres asks happily? Yes Sebas answers, grinning broadly. Miriam, her wits about her asks what about Addled? Sebas brushes off her worries telling her to forget him. Little Andres stands between them and Sebas hoists him up in the air onto his shoulders with all three smiling broadly. And thus, dear patio, I believe what we’ve long suspected (and lamented) about Sebas and Miriam’s future is now somewhat confirmed. I caution a definitive interpretation because as a wise man once said “it ain’t’ over til it’s over” and we have much to cover ere this ends.
The guard comes in, unlocks the cell door and Leo rushes in and pulls Roberta off Joaquina. Get a doctor Leo screams. Indeed, Joaquina looks as though the life has been choked out of her (literally and figuratively) and slumps against the wall crying.
Danilo is in the chapel praying for Sara. “Dios Mio” he begins and begs that he will be a match and able to donate his kidney to Sara. He wipes tears from his face, distraught. Emilia and Aleida stand in the back watching. They leave and talk in the hall. I believe Emilia says she considers Danilo to be a member of the family. The nurse takes Emilia away and I immediately suspect Emilia might be undergoing testing to see if she is compatible..
Fidel and Addled are hatching some kind of plan but I sense they are uneasy allies.
Diana
Emilia visits Sara. Sara, shedding genuine tears asks for forgiveness. I understood little of their conversation but Sara seems to truly lament what she has done. I believe Emilia urges her to live for Danilo, for Romina and for herself. Sara does tell Emilia that “Nico is wonderful” (surely reflecting a change of heart). From her deathbed, she asks Emilia for a promise.
Gael, Marijo, and Nico are enjoying ice cream when Cayetana comes up. Marijo asks how Joaquina is and Cayetana tells them Roberta tried to kill her. My abuela Nico pipes up with. The bottom line is that Cayetana and Marijo have made peace. She does tell Marijo that Gael was a total gentleman. We can only hope this love triangle has now become only a duo. Gael and Marijo sweetly kiss.
I’ve caused so many problems Joaquina laments as Leo holds her and Roberta makes background noises. Orlando comes in with the guards who are preparing to transfer Roberta. Her “malditos” reverberate throughout the cell. Joaquina, on the other hand, is free to go. Leo thanks Orlando.
In the paddy wagon, Roberta is trying to talk her way out of her dire situation, attempting to bribe the policemen who aren’t biting. “Idiots” she snarls. Meanwhile, Lapdog Ezequiel is on the phone with someone. A handcuffed Roberta is eyeing one of the guard’s guns. All of a sudden, the van is intercepted by another vehicle and forced off the road. It’s a trap one of the guards says. A half dozen men wearing black ski masks remove the guards and tell them to kneel down. One of the hooded men extends his hand to Roberta. He removes his mask revealing Addled. “You” Roberta cries out. But something in his expression gives us pause. Is he there to rescue Roberta or is this a double cross and he going to bring her to hell? We needn’t wait long for an answer. Addled raises his gun and points it directly at Roberta.
Diana
Jarifa, thank you for your usual stellar recap.
Another earth-shattering dark mystery…
“She goes on to say IF THEIR SECRET GETS OUT, HER WHOLE LIFE WILL BE DESTROYED. Angeles is very upset. Manuela insists she has to find out if what Heliberto is referring to with his call for justice having to do with . . . she knows that Angeles knows what she is talking about. (but we don't)”. No we don’t and I for one am completely confused. What in heaven’s name happened that would make Manuela utter such a statement?
I was flabbergasted that Nico is Dulce’s attacker. I took him for an unkind fool with a terrible fashion sense, not to be taken seriously; I never would have dreamed he is Mr. Hyde. Seeing Dulce so terrorized was hard to watch. At least Pablo is working hard to change and is truly now there for her.
Leandro and Carmina will be an unholy alliance, I am very afraid for both Dulce and Pablito.
I am sorry and sad that Edgardo’s accusers are frightened to the extent they asked the online video be removed. Does he actually have friends in high places who are protecting him or is he just so arrogant he believes he can’t be caught?
Amanda and Enrique being at odds is painful to watch.
I thought surely Julieta would start realizing something is off, way off with Chiro.
Diana
Thanks, Diana. Yes, Manuela is another mystery with only 16 episodes left. Then we have Dulce’s admission that Nico, of all people, was her attacker. Just one of those would have been enough for me. Now how does Leandro fit into all of this? Leandro has to be guilty of something, right? I do admit I appreciated these twists that came out of nowhere. I think my favorite scene was Carmina calling out Leandro on his “romancing” of her. As they say, it takes one (a criminal in this case) to know one.
Thank you Jarifa. You turn out great recaps daily. I’m loving this show. Before they solve one mystery another appears. I can’t even imagine what Manuela did that could destroy her life.
I was shocked that Nico was Dulce’s attacker. I’m trying to remember if he and Leandro ever had much to do with each other. I was so sure Leandro was involved, and he still might be. And is it just a coincidence that Nico’s car window was broken and then his phone is stolen? I’ll be happy to see him locked up, and hopefully locked out of any chance to get half of Tamara’s inheritance.
I’m wondering about all the social media stuff about Julieta. I really don’t think Susie told. Why would Julieta get in touch with Chiro after he said all those mean things about her? She really needs to tell her mother, and quit telling Leandro stuff.
Carmina and Leandro really are two of a kind.
Liz
There's a mystery every moment Jarifa.
This show has intrigued me and continues to fascinate. Nico was a total shock and I give the writers credit that we never saw that coming (at least I never did). :)
In a sense, Manuela's crisis has been broadly hinted at, but I never expected something of this terrible magnitude.
I've thought about it but still have no real theory as to how Leandro is involved in all this.
It was nice to see someone see through Leandro, even if it was Carmina! :) While she is wily, she had best be careful. I think he is in an (evil) league of his own.
Diana
Diana: Howdy from the Alamo City. Good to see that Marijo & Clingy Cayetana FINALLY made amends as long as Clingy Cayetana stays far away from Gael.
I've got a question: Are either Psycho Roberta or Gullible Joaquina actually Marijo's mother ?
Noticed that Emilia & Sara talked inside Sara's hospital room where Crazy Whacky Blonde Sara apologized for her wrongdoings including mistreating Nico, etc.,
Big question is who'll offer to help donate organs to Sara ?
Something tells me Addled will NOT be among the living because of the previews for tonight's upcoming episode. Wondering who'll tell Sara & Jenny about this development ?
Smarmy Fidel still plotting more sinister chaos.
Steve, neither Roberta nor Joaquina are Marijo's mother.
I have a feeling I know who will be Sara's organ donor but I'm going to keep mum! I think we will find out tonight.
Diana
Thanks, Diana. Your comments make it a bit easier to bear the seemingly inevitable Miriam and Sebas romance? Is it really? I was rather uncomfortable when she asked him to let her give him a kiss to 'keep it in her heart'. There's something in this request that comes across as ...I can't describe it, but who the hell asks to kiss a man they know doesn't love them? Isn't this reserved for bad ladies only? It was so weird. And after he tells her not to worry about Addled, she immediately goes 'and what will happen with us?' It's exactly the same thing Leo said to Emilia. She tells him she can't compete with Emilia and yet still seems to think she can almost insist he give her a definite answer. One of the writers must have disliked Sebas if they gave him Miriam as a prize. I still cannot believe it, most probably because this relationship is written in such a strange way. Miriam still seems to have this belief everyone must help her or give her what she wants. Her question 'why are you asking us to stay' amused me. Woman, she loves your child, that's why. But I think to Miriam this would never have been enough. Usually galanes with this kind of attitude never got what they were after so why does Miriam get it? They are putting Sara through hell because she did a lot of harm and Miriam rides off into the sunset?
Sara asked Orlando to stop Fidel by becoming chief of the police. He at first refused because he admitted Fidel was selling drugs at his restaurant so he isn't exactly...um...a suitable candidate. But eventually agreed to do it for his child and Jen. I doubt he'd have been able to get the post if it wasn't for Sara.
I was rather disturbed by Nico talking about how he had to be grateful to Sara because she was a mother to him when Emilia was gone. This doesn't feel ok somehow. Sara clearly didn't love him and the idea of 'be grateful because it's all you've got' doesn't sit right with me in this case. Then he asks if Roberta will go to prison because he doesn't want her to. I know he is meant to be a good child, but I'd want him to be at least somewhat conflicted and not insisting that he knows she loves him.Do these writers even know what healthy love is? They even made Emilia take tests (thanks for pointing this out). I mean, forgiveness is one thing, but are they going to make her Sara's donor? They made Jen give Miriam a job because she 'is a good person'. And even the police woman commented that only a personwith a heart as good as Leo's would want to see Roberta after all she's done. She misunderstood, but still. This telenovela has some stuff that makes me very uneasy.
Your comment that Joaquina is 'stuck with Leo' made me laugh. Is that actor really OK? Last night, when you commented he looked sort of mildly interested when Roberta was having her 'I'm evil' moment with Emilia, I remember wondering there just had to be something wrong there.
I'm a bit disappointed Marat switched his targets so quickly. So Gigi will end up with him? And what's left for Aleida?
It appears Fidel was informed the members of their party movement might turn against him. He also considers Addled 'his only friend'
Sara asked Emilia to look after her daughter. I still cannot believe she did all this crazy stuff just because she believed Leo might one day love her again. However, she can't say she went into politics for this so she was ready to do whatever it took just to have some influence.
My favourite line was Danilo saying he won't leave God in peace until they find a solution. Now that's what I call determination. After all, who's to say he won't get his wish.
Good work, Jarifa.
I wouldn't have imagined that Nico was Dulce's attacker. I guess he can't deal with anyone who is trans, with or without the relevant surgery. Can this idiot even function sexually after all that? At least we can safely predict he will end up in prison.
Not sure if I buy Tamara's about-face on motherhood but at least her kids have Amanda and her cute little dog.
Just the idea of anyone caving to Edgardo's threats makes my blood boil.
Paloma does not owe her parents anything, especially grandchildren. She needs to go NC with them, especially since they were bleeding her dry financially before.
Thumbnail list of high points last night. I didn’t write down anything so likely forgot some things. Hopefully someone here will have a thorough recap.
Pepe and MALena continue to argue. She is relentless, no? He will not take care of her nor take her back nor support the baby that isn’t his. He’s done with her lies.
MALena and Rafa argue. She’s going rapelling and he doesn’t want her to risk losing the baby. She says she’d be fine with losing it. The Hulk goes ballistic.
UrbanA nailed it --> Borderline Personality Disorder. MAL even blamed Rafa for her pregnancy, like she wasn't there when it happened. ~massive eyeroll~
Then Rafa & Pepe have a long convo. Rafa’s guilt and desire for punishment, he keeps telling Pepe to punch him out "in order to release the anger". Pepe keeps telling him how much he loves his bro, he couldn’t do that to him, and he is the best hermano in the whole world. Rafa is drowning in the guilt. Why can’t Rafa walk like normal people? He always looks like he can’t bring his arms down to his side nor his legs together.
Renata announces to the glamping familia Lugo that she and Emiliano are going to take a year in Europe.Paula says no, absolutely NOT. Lorenzo encourages her to go talk camly with Emiliano. She does, it’s a nice scene, and she decides to support the plan. Later, her vision blurs while reading the storybook to Susi… thanks, tumor.
Next day, Emiliano and Renata have a big fight over the trip. (also, this was a shirtless scene with Emi in a towel, but I digress….) Essentially, they broke up. Reni might have BPD, too. Emiiano tells her she doesn’t own him and he’s entitled to his decisions. She later tries to run over Lucia and Andrea with her car, but swerves at the last minute. Both Andrea & Luci have caras de horror at whatever happened next. Stay tuned.
Paula records a video to her children on her phone for them to see after she is gone. This was a tear-jerker scene. Be advised.
Lorenzo swears to Alex & Isa that he never recorded the property in his name. Jamás. Alex had it checked by his lawer and oh yesiree, it IS in Lorenzo’s name. They all figure Julieta (Lorenzo’s wife) did it.
Some sort of health inspector(?) shows up at the restaurant due to a complaint filed (I think I understood that right?) It was probably Rolo, who only heard about the Pepaula beso yesterday and found it online in nano-seconds. (Seriously, how does that happen??? takes me ten minutes of a youtube search to find anything…)
Good morning, Patio!
First of all, thank you Doris for the highlights; it saved me some time since i didn't have to see the episode where notch happened.
In episode 13, there wasn't much moving forward again.
Pepe tells MAL the she is going t have the baby and she will raise it just like so many other single woman who raise a child. Rafa has a hissy fit and storms off, finds a tree to take out his frustration on and calls himself a damned coward (I would add some other choice descriptors, but let's move on....)
At the family campfire, Paula et all are roasting marshmallows when Reni decides it's time that Emil tell Paula that they will be going for year-long backpacking in Europe. Paula is shocked and forbids Emil from going. After Emil and Diego scowl and tell Paula she is being her controlling self and Lor intervenes to calm them down. Paula and Emil have a private talk.
Pepe can't hate MAL since she is his kids' mother, but she needs to tell the kids herself. MAL has the gall to ask Pepe to say he is the baby's father. I was so glad that Pepe refused!! MAL pleads and pleads, but Pepe stands his ground.
Pepe goes to Rafa who wants Pepe to punch him so Pepe can release all his anger, but Pepe refuses because Rafa is the best brother whom he loves mucho. Pepe has the devil inside but he won't take it out on Rafa (Oh, darn!)
Emil explains why he wants to go backpacking. Paula understands that Emil doesn't want to work at her company...and concedes to support Emil in whatever decision he makes.
Next day, Paula cries as she puts a question mark on her wish to help Emil during his first year at the university...and makes her first video for the kids. She tells them she loves them and the they just spent a wonderful camping night and apologizes to Emil and Suzy fo lying about her health. She asks them to someday return to the waterfall and look up the sky to look for the brightest star, that will be her watching them and taking care of them.
Emil tells Reni that he is not sure that he wants to go backpacking...and they should take a break from each other! Reni pouts and argues, but Emil tells her she is being controlling...she is not his owner!
Rafa tells MAL that he wants to take responsibility for the baby. He worries that MAL is going off to do her dangerous stunts, but she insists on going...and if she loses the baby...it would be good (MALdita!). MAL doesn't know how but she will make Pepe come back to her (good luck!)
Isabel repeats to Alex that there is nothing wrong..but she inadvertently calls him "Lorenzo" (ha!) Lorenzo arrives and offers to give Alex their agreement back, but Alex scoffs and points out the Lor had registered the properties under his name, so givng back their agreement is useless. Lorenzo insists that he never registered the lands under his name...but then figures it must have been Julieta (his dead wife). He then offers to sell them the land...Alex continues to be obstinate.
Paula asks Pepe if Teo can go play with Suzy. Rol rolls in and suggests that Pepe refuse to let Teo go. Pepe mentions the mouth-to-mouth beso which Rol had not heard about. Rolando questions Paula and sees the video. Paula tries to explain that she was hallucinating, but Rol isn't convinced.
Lorenzo sees the Rafa is upset and offers to lend an ear. He the offers Rafa a job--to repair the tree house. Gracia sees them talking and runs to tell Isabela that she saw Rafa and Lor talking like father and son...and shaking hands. Isabela confronts Rafa who wonders why Isabela gets so upset when they talk about Lor. When he asks if she had been involved with him, she slaps him. WHACK!
Reni revs her car at Lucia, but then seems to change her mind (???) and CRASHES!!
An inspector shows up and tells Pepe that someone filed a complaint about the restaurant.
Oh, Doris! I was watching the episode and took some notes...as you posted!! Oh well, two is better than one..que no? LOL
"Why can’t Rafa walk like normal people? He always looks like he can’t bring his arms down to his side nor his legs together." Love it!! I was wondering the same thing!
RgvChick - THANK YOU!!! for your recap, too. It included a lot that I left out. Viewerville now has a fuller understanding of what all happened. :-D
Lorenzo probably would "sell" that land for very little. Alex is cutting off his nose to spite his face, but this is a plot propeller, so he'll continue to be stubborn.
* * *
If you do an internet search for "The Hulk", then click on "Images", it looks just. like. Rafa.
Also, we watch telenovelas to improve our Spanish vocabulary, right? New words so far:
Food Truck = food truck
Glamping = glamping
Thanks, Diana. We are only 3 episodes from the end.
Not sure I want to see Sara survive, but the writers at Televisa have been fond of making up so many twists and turns in the last few weeks thinking that this keeps viewers. All it does is make the overall story into nonsense.
Miriam is pathetic. Sebas might be the only man who ever treated her decently, but she didn't have to settle for anything that's happened to her so far.
Roberta's murder attempt was no surprise. She has no respect for life at all. How much did she abuse Leo, especially after Mauricio was born? We can see how Mauricio became what he became and this entire town should be grateful that he was the weakling he was and is now no longer in a position to take any more after her than he did.
Addled will try to kill Roberta because she shot Sara and she is now critical. That's the only normal thing about him.
Diana, thank you for soldiering onward as we struggle to el fin.
Waterlily, thanks for all the added details.
I think we all figured that good as gold Sebas was going to feel obliged to take care of Miriam because he is a hero and he loves her little boy . I have a theory that halfway through this show, wardrobe changed his flannel shirts to sport jackets because this actor has galan potential .
Then , we have late to the party Marat. Exactly what was the point of bringing in this silver fox and dangling him among all the older single ladies ???? He also acted as a second line of defense behind the young dudes pushing grumpy Tigre further into the background . I am hoping that Zaire stays with her cranky old hombre and Gigi enjoys her Manuelito leaving Marat for lovely Aleida , who deserves a good guy. Love Karyme.
As for everyone else.....whatever . Leo + Em Gael + Mar
Susan
Thanks, Doris and rgvchick. The beginning of my video got cut so I didn't get to see Pepe telling Malena she'll have to raise the kid. I'm curious how she thinks he can convince him to raise the kid. My jaw dropped when she literally said he'll take care of the kid, making it clear she just wants him to be the responsible adult while she...I don't know...lives her adrenaline filled life.I do wonder what kind of plans the kids had ruined for her. She does what she likes and ignores the kids completely. But I'm amazed that even what she feared had happened, she cried a bit and got right back up and said she'd win Pepe back.Delusional determination? Or can I already open a bottle of wine to celebrate she won't convince him?
I hope Paula reconsiders her idea to get married. I bet that scene won't make to do it, though. But I did wonder why she didn't tell Rolando it's up to Pepe to decide and that he should stay out of it or just asked him to keep quiet.
It didn't occur to Renata Emiliano might get fed up with herbehaviour?Or can't she control herself once she is in her 'you won't leave me' mindset?
I imagine Paula won't die and until ep 12 I was absolutely sure of it. Now it does seem she is ill because vision problems are just the beginning. Her refusal to spend her last days in hospital seems very naive to me,though. If it's really a tumour, she'd end up in bed whether at home or in hospital. I've heard brain tumours are absolutely horrific and the ending is awful. The show is supposedly about dealing with someone dying, but if she ends up surviving, it feels the message is a bit...not fake exactly, but it falls flat in this case.I don't know how they are going to balance the fairytale aspect with a very real and painful topic they want to handle here. It's not like people with this diagnosis get a miraculous way out of the situation. But I have yet to see a show where a terminally ill protagonist dies.
I thought Rafa already had some idea of what Malena is like after she didn't show any care for the baby she's expecting. But he is not just a coward, but also a bit naive if he tought she'd have a family with him. She keeps telling him 'it meant nothing' and he comes back for more suffering.
Isabela is crazy if she thinks she can forbid her adult son to interact with someone. If I were him, I'd have told her she can't do that. She made a mess of things and is now all anxious...She mad her bed.
"My favourite line was Danilo saying he won't leave God in peace until they find a solution. Now that's what I call determination. After all, who's to say he won't get his wish".
24K gold Waterlily! I loved that line. I can't thank you enough for all you provided and oh so smartly!
Yes, they are putting Sara "through hell" as Miriam seemingly rides off to her happy ending with barely a scratch. Your "rant" :) made very worthwhile points. While Sara was far worse, she is certainly atoning for her evil deeds.
So Marat is quite the player, isn't he?? Or, is he fickle? In any event, he truly seems to like women, unlike most of the men here. Gigi certainly looked charmed, what about Manuelito??
Leo is lacking. I just can't think of a better way to phrase it!!
Diana
Urban, thank you!
"Addled will try to kill Roberta because she shot Sara and she is now critical. That's the only normal thing about him" is so true.
Thank you for reminding us about the abuse Leo suffered at Roberta's hands. That likely partially explains his rather significant shortcomings.
I also thought there were only 3 episodes left but Univision is showing #108 for Tuesday (?) Can anyone shed any light on this?? I had thought Monday was the finale.
Diana
Susan, thank you!!
"Then, we have late to the party Marat. Exactly what was the point of bringing in this silver fox and dangling him among all the older single ladies ????" had me smiling away.
I am interested in what happens to Marat. I saw no spark between he and Aleida but things can and have changed on a dime here so it's possible, right??
Sebas is fine and yes, bring on the lead galan for him!
Have to rush out again, will check back later - looking foward to reading the Vida recaps too.
Diana
Waterlily, my comment to you disappeared.
I am currently without a phone but hope to have one by day's end and will ask Rgv Chick to repost it.
Diana
Thanks to both Doris and Rgv Chick, two great retells where any gaps were filled in.
I was very relieved when Pepe refused to give in to Malena. I almost felt sorry for Rafa, especially when Pepe was telling him he’s the best brother and loves him. But Rafa had to know what he was doing was wrong.
Emiliano told Renata not to mention their trip during their camping night and she did it anyway. I’m glad he broke up with her. But not sure why he had to appear in only a towel. To please any teenage girl viewers? I was sure she was going to run over the girls, I wonder why she changed her mind.
I hope Paula is seeing a little bit of the true Rolando in some of these scenes. He doesn’t have the right to tell her who Suzy can play with. And I’m not sure why he told Pepe he should refuse to let Teo go. He’s a bit of a control freak, kind of like Renata! I hope the marriage never happens!
I still don’t think Paula’s going to die, but I have been wrong before. That would be a real tearjerker.
Liz
Thanks everyone for your kind comments!
Liz, if I remember correctly, Nico was working for Everardo but do not Leandro but who knows what has been happening behind the scenes. This novela continues to surprise the viewer with every episode.
Diana, "I thought surely Julieta would start realizing something is off, way off with Chiro." I was disappointed that Uncle Ricky left her his phone. What was he thinking? He wasn't. One would think that Julieta had learned her lesson but no.
Urban, "Paloma does not owe her parents anything, especially grandchildren. She needs to go NC with them, especially since they were bleeding her dry financially before." You are so right. They need to be cut off and out.
What is Manuela's story? Angeles looked petrified with worry just thinking about Manuela's past. How many episodes until we find out??
Jarifa, thank you for another top-notch recap of all the mystery and danger.
The actress playing Dulce is doing an amazing job. I saw an interview of her with her proud actor dad .
I have no clue what Manuela's mysterious background might be . Does it have to do with her birth parents ? So...Heriberto is the guy who raped her and is now seeking revenge for his jail time ?
I was surprised that Nico is the one who terrorized Dulce . I suppose the writers showed him pushing Enrique to the ground to show us that he is a really dangerous guy. I wonder who the guy was who stole his cellphone . What was that scene about ? I didn't realize the actor was wearing a wig.
I am not buying Tamara magically suddenly wanting to be a good mother . Really ? And everybody in this show wants to start a business .
Susan
Thanks Diana, I admire you for your recaps of this crazy story. I thought that kiss Miriam gave Sebas must have been something else. He seemed to immediately decide they need to be together.
Roberto and Fidel will be with us to the bitter end. I was surprised the cops in the paddy wagon were actually honest cops. But it seems the guy over Fidel is not.
I do feel sorry for Sara. But she can stay or go, it doesn’t matter to me. I really thought she was going to die after Emilia forgave her.
It’s really hard to believe Roberta and Joaquina are sisters. And they had pretty much the same life experiences growing up. I guess the answer to why Roberta is so evil is unanswerable
Liz
Susan, there are sure lots of questions to be answered. Yes, everyone does seem to want to start a business. Too funny! I am going to have to find that Jesús/Jesusa Ochoa interview. Thanks for mentioning it.
Liz thanks so much!
Yes, the Miriam/Sebas kiss was intense...I really hope he has thought everything over carefully and that they do end up happy. Andres is adorable but a child does not a marriage make.
"Unanswerable" is a good description regarding Roberta. I think she will be the last to fall.
Diana
Thanks, Doris, RGV Chick.
MALena is so fundamentally stupid it's almost laughable. She never wanted to have children in the first place and claims she hates the ones she has, so why didn't she get her tubes tied or use contraception? This makes no sense at all. She also tried to get Pepe to think this pregnancy was caused by him and failed to remember that he can count back on the calendar. I hope that the cameras in the house catch her trying this the next time so she can see how ridiculous she is. She has made at least two attempts on Paula's life in the first dozen episodes so we know there will be more.
Rafa is an idiot for his infatuation with her and a total caveman (the gorilla pose) in his equally selfish desire to prevent her having an abortion. It's not his body and future that's at stake. Of course if she doesn't get an abortion or have a miscarriage and has the baby imagine how this will blow up his family.
I am surprised that the genetics lab didn't contact Lorenzo with the fact that the hair samples were mixed.
Rolando is no better than Rafa, but he is a greedy SOB.
Renata is a MALena in training. Emiliano can do so much better.
BTW, there is at least one writer on this series who was also of the writing team of Mi Fortun es Amarte, whose hero had a son suffering from elective mutism. There was also an evil woman who emotionally abused that child. Remember her fate!
Leo and Mauricio were as different as their mothers are. For two siblings to have such differences is not unusual at all.
Roberta is the main villain here so she will be the last to fall. With only 3 or 4 episodes left (Mexico had a 2-hour finale) we don't have long to wait.
Thank you doris and Rgv Chick for your superb recaps.
The overly long, excruciatingly drawn out scene with MALena and Pepe was too much last night. And I'm still searching to find the appropriate words to describe Rafa.
Doris, "glamping familia Lugo" had me smiling away. "Later, her vision blurs while reading the storybook to Susi… thanks, tumor" had me grimly shaking my head. I hope Paula doesn't have to suffer all the way through this without finding out she has been misdiagnosed or finding a cure. When she made the video to her children, my heart hurt.
Rgv Chick, Paula "aplogizes to Emil and Suzy for lying about her health. She asks them to someday return to the waterfall and look up the sky to look for the brightest star, that will be her watching them and taking care of them" was lovely and made my eyes mist just now.
Reni definitely has issues but Emi in effect has been leading her on. When he realized his feelings changed, he should have made a clean break and stuck to it, despite Reni's histronics. That said, I'm sure she would have responded in self destructive, impulsive behavior as she did last night. I hope she is all right.
Diana
A good friend of mine died in 2018 from a brain tumor. She was diagnosed in 2016, had surgery, radiation, and chemo, and was OK for about 18 months. Then an inoperable tumor appeared and she died 5-6 months later after a long hospitalization and hospice care. In her case her mobility was affected suddenly when the first tumor announced itself: Her whole left side was paralyzed. After the surgery she got her left side back, but that lasted only about 18 months, She had escaped from WTC 1 on the day of the attack.
I therefore predict that Paula has been misdiagnosed unless Televisa/Univision wants to shock us all.
Gracias, Jarifa. Your recap is another slam dunk.
Color me shocked too about Nico. He'd seemed to have no connection to the Dulce storyline.
Thinking out loud about Manuela and Angeles. Maybe the adoption wasn't legal? Could one of them have committed a crime?
Manuela agrees to meet the guy in a park thinking that's a safe meeting place. Really? Why not alert the police?
Tonight is must-see TV.
Waterlily, my response to you this morning is now posted. It was myy comment not yours that disappeared.
I'm really tired today hence the miscomunication.
Thank you Rgv Chick for your quick response.
Diana
Urban, your friend cheated death by escaping the terrorist attack and then succumbed to cancer. I am so very sorry. Life is often so unfair.
I have thought all along Paula was misdiagnosed somehow but I can't see her not having her HEA. Sadly, sometimes that is true only in fairy tales.
Diana
Diana: I'm going to assume that Marijo's mother was Ignacio's 1st wife, who got whacked by Psycho Roberta many years earlier correct ?
Diana -- ITA and that's why I set up the Waiting For A Miracle table on the patio. She and Pepe already have their own love theme background music, so surely the writers can't kill her off! Maybe the next round of tests will show it is treatable, she would lose all that gorgeous hair, but she will live and have a HEA.
doris, thanks for reminding me about the background music. That speaks volumes doesn't it?
Here's hoping...
Diana
Thanks, Diana.
She was a good-hearted person who loved people and loved to cook. Sadly she never wrote down her recipes, nor did her mother. I reconstructed one of them and her son did one that I know of, but the rest could have been lost. I need to call him soon.
Here's hoping that Paula survives. Pepe and his family need her.
