Minas + OT

Diana, thanks SO much for your wonderful recaps. And a big thanks to Waterlily for adding useful information.

I just caught up, rough week.

I'll do today's recap. Just like Diana, I saw that there will be no Minas on Friday. (It's already Friday here... Lol I wake up early. It 5:44 in the morning. Finally got some cold weather.)

MINAS

Weirdo, so good to see your post! Thank you so much.

The show just ended here and although Comcast's guide shows Mujer airing from 9-11 ET tomorrow, the MINAS promo said "manana." Not sure what to think!

Look forward to reading your sure to be marvelous recap. Finally, some forward motion :)

Diana

VENCER LA CULPA #48/#49

Weirdo: Looking forward to seeing your recap of last night's episode.

VENCER LA CULPA

Something is coming but it will be later. We are in the middle of a winter storm. The wind knocked out the electricity and what I had just started writing. : ( I think I will be posting in very short sections. LOL

VENCER

Jarifa, please stay safe!

There's nothing worse than no electricity and no warmth. Take care.

Diana

VENCER

Thanks, Diana. The electricity is back! Yay!

VENCER

So glad Jarifa! What a relief!

Diana

OT

Jarifa, oh my. I hope your electricity stays on . I didn't look at the weather this a.m. It is sunny but cold where I am .
Winter ...boo.
Hope everyone stays safe and warm . Susan ;)

VENCER #48/#49 Part one

CORRECTION

In the last episode, I thought that the person taking photos of Manuela and Pablo outside the motel was one of Leandro's minions. It wasn't. It looks like it could be the hoodie figure.

Amanda tries to explain how after so many years of mistreatment at the hand of Everardo, she ended up ONCE with another man. She never planned it. Leandro was the result. Leandro and Tamara are unforgiving and insulting. Furthermore, they blame her for the death of their father who must have been upset when he found out the truth. Nico admits that he knew since he was working on the sly for Everardo and at first, he tries to stick up for Amanda. She isn't having it letting everybody know that Nico was pressuring her for money. Leandro punches him the face. Next it comes out that she was going to pay Nico off to leave Tamara and disappear. Leandro then labels HER as the problem in the family and tells her to get out. He never wants to see her again. She is devastated and texts Leandro to talk about situation. He doesn't answer.

Nico threatens to out Amanda on the social networks unless she pays him what she offered him the first place. Yaneli has Axel record her telling everybody all about Edgardo a teacher who was sexually harassing her so they can out him on the social networks

Tamara tells Nico she is divorcing him and that he should clean out her stuff before she gets home. it seems he has beaten her to the punch and has changed the locks on the doors. He reminds her that they were married under the community property option. Half of the house is his as well as half of her inheritance.

Manuela shows the photo of her and Pablo in front of the motel and the message to Angeles. The sender asks how she would like the photo to be sent to her daughter so she would know what her mother's true profession is. The sender identifies them self only as somebody who has been very close to her, Amanda, Paloma , Yaneli and Pablo. Manuela wanders if it could be Damián. Angeles thinks she needs to talk to Pablo then. Manuela tells Pablo about the photo and being threatened. They agree that Dulce is the key to everything that is going on.

VENCER Part two

Víctor has arrived and is not friendly to Axel who is visiting Yaneli. He announces that things are going change around there now that he is there! Yaneli reminds him that she is now is 18 and is an adult. He isn' happy she hasn't kept him up to date and conveniently seems to have forgotten how long he has been out of contact with Yaneli and Genaro. Vic's daughter says she doesn't speak Spanish since she was raised in the USA but she does. His wife wants to go see her family in Michoacán. Yaneli finds out that Vic and family do not have return tickets to the USA. She doesn't know that he has been DEPORTED.

Pirineo Trujillo, who I thought was Leandro's lawyer, goes to see Carmina introducing himself as Leandro's right hand man. She refuses to to tell HIM anything. It is personal She needs to see Leandro and she does. She thinks that they should join forces to prevent Manuela and Pablo from getting together. She thinks that by preventing that union they will be doing what is best for their children. He tells her that Manuela and Pablo are not lovers because Manuela wants access to her daughter. She mentions Pablo's situation with Damián. Leandro recognizes theme. Carmina explains that Damián is Pablo's son. They agree to keep each other the loop.

The prosecutor has news for Manuela and her friends. The DNA on the dead Brayan's bracelet matches Dulce's. They also cannot find any proof that Dulce ever existed. There is no birth certificate or any other legal ID. Whatever she showed them was fake. Most likely Dulce is a criminal.

Leandro tells Pirineo to get the box that they found at Duce's for him. He doesn't care that it is in the custody of the prosecutor's office. He wants it. Leandro also tells Pirieno to assign another lawyer from the firm to handle the Genaro case. It turns out that Leandro took over his father-in-law's law firm when he died and Lorena inherited it.

Susana the Younger finds out all about the brat's unsavory past at her previous school from the brat's "friends".

At work, Franco thanks Paloma for the job but informs her that he will be leaving. He is a consultant and sees his life as traveling form one company and one project to another. She doesn't get it since he has financial problems. He has no problem with going home for a short time until he finds his bearings. He seems to have gotten used to life's uncertainty since he got HIV. Later, he brings her her laptop she left at work. He has a cough and she goes with him to the doctor. She reads more about HIV meds.

Paloma is feeling guilty again about how she treated her parents. She tries calling them but there is no answer. She doesn't know that they pawned their phones. She is mortified when she finds out that they left the hotel without paying when she goes to try to check up on them. Her parents honestly miss her, too. Her parents make a point of apologizing to "Waltercito" for how they treated him. He is unbelievably understanding and kind. Knowing that Paloma will not see them until they are in therapy for their gambling, he offers to arrange therapy for them with a friend of his and, also, to pay for it. They are grateful knowing that, thanks to him, they will see Paloma again.

VENCER Part 3

Manuela gets a call from Lorena who has gotten her hands on a phone at the psychiatric hospital where Leandro admitted her. Manuela cannot answer fast enough but is able to see where the call was made from. She and Pablo go to break her out. In the meantime, Lorena decides she is going to escape. She makes it down to the lobby where Manuela has arrived as Lorena's psychologist and is trying to see her but is being denied. The administrator threatens them with calling the police to prohibit Manuela from taking Lorena. Manuela challenges her saying she will be more than happy to attest to Lorena being in sound mind and being held against her will. They leave with no problem. The administrator is on the phone immediately leaving a message for Leandro telling him what happened. Manuela takes Lorena to Angeles' house where Vicky meets them. Lorena wants to take her kids and leave. Vicky warns her that could be seen as kidnapping under the law since the custody issue has not been decided.

Julieta suffers her first disillusionment of the day with daddy dearest when he informs her he cannot pick her up and tells her that his driver will. She is to go home and babysit her younger brothers. Her brothers talk to her about how they miss their mother and are upset that they do not know when she is coming back. Julieta gets a call from Manuela. She is to pack up the boys and their things and bring them to Angeles. Surprisingly, Julieta follows her directions and soon the boys are reunited with their mother at Angeles'. Leandro finally sees the message from the administrator and ends up at Angeles' house in a rage. Lorena blames him for setting trap for her to get her into that hospital. Vicky introduces herself as Lorena's legal representative which invites sarcastic put downs from Leandro since he is a first class high class lawyer and she is basically nothing. She informs him that he cannot take the children because their custody has not been decided in a court of law. He demands that the boys come with him but they refuse. The only thing that stops his rage is when Julieta has her second disillusionment with daddy dearest of the day and tells him she cannot believe what he is doing to his sons by forcing them to go with him and leaving their mother. He is suddenly brought back to reality and agrees to let the boys stay with their mother. He apologizes to everyone and blames his reaction on just having lost his father. He is ready to go back to the apartment with Julieta and Manuela. A crying Julieta tells him that she will be staying with her mother at Angeles' house. She thinks that he needs time alone to solve his problems. She and her mother will be at Angeles' house until he does. She asks him to pack up her and her mother's things and send them to Angeles' house. He agrees and says he loves her before he leaves. When he gets home takes a golf club and destroys anything can be destroyed in his apartment. Julieta tells her mother that she didn't like how her father acted at all. He seemed like another person. She felt disappointed. He gave off such bad vibes. It broke her heart. Manuela tells her how proud she was that Julieta was so brave n confronting the situation. Adults have many sides to them and some are not very nice. She advises her not to be angry with her father or to resent him because she will just end up hurting herself.

Paloma remembers asking Dulce if she had a novio. Dulce conveniently didn't answer.

Carmina keeps poisoning Pablito against his father telling him that he has time to spend with Manuela but not him. Nancy brings her detective to see Carmina. She thinks it must be because he found Damián.

VENCER Part 4

Paloma, Yaneli and Manuela all go visit Amanda to support her with whatever she is going through. Amanda tells them all about her past. The friends assure her that her past doesn't matter to them They still feel the same about her. They are all there for her. Paloma says we can only do the best we can. Nobody is there to judge her

Leandro is talking to Pirineo. He emphasizes that he wants that box ASAP. As for his children, he has his strategy all worked out. He doesn't care where Lorena takes them or that Manuela and Julieta are back at he mom's house. He isn't quite prepared for a fight with them in his current state. Once things are nice and calm and everyone is back to trusting him, he will make them do what he wants. He might have lost a battle or two but he will win the war.

That is it for me.

OT

Thanks, Susan, for your good wishes.

VENCER

Phenomenal storytelling Jarifa. I was on the edge of my seat during all of this pivotal and disturbing episode and you mirrored everything perfectly.

Manuela and Pablo managed to save Lorena in the nick of time!

Wow. Leandro's blinding white rage as he destroyed his apartment was truly frightening. His facial expressions, particularly when he was trying to control his red hot anger in Angeles' home had me blanching.

Nothing, and I mean nothing Manuela could ever have said to Julieta about Leandro could have had more of an impact that Julieta seeing Leandro's cruel, despotic tirade with her own eyes. Julieta would never have believed her cautionary warnings or that Leandro was less that perfect. This was a revelation.

I have to say that Julieta handleed herself as a mature (and very brave) adult. She fixated on Leandro with a level, unafraid gaze, told him what she thought but was calm in the face of his frenzy even going to far as to note her disappointment. She stopped him in his tracks; what I cannot comprehend is why she has such a power over him.

Everyone in that room now knows Leandro is a monster. God love his boys for walking over to their mother despite his manic orders to the contrary.

I've no doubt Leandro will avenge himself in a timely, merciless manner.

So glad Amanda has her "sisters" with her during this tumultuous time. I hope she and Enrique manage to get back together.

Just as Yaneli has a stable place to stay her life is disrupted by odious Victor and his family. Not sure what this is going to add to the storyline.

Walter was "...unbelievably understanding and kind" to Paloma's parents is right Jarifa! Even offering to pay for therapy? Yup, I'm at Walter's table on the patio. But are they ready to make amends and more importantly, keep on the right path? When they were walking on the street, I thought Paloma's mother was ready to take some sort of pamphlet, an add for gambling but Paloma's father pulled her way, or did I get that wrong?

I wonder why Leandro wants Dulce's box? I feel we are on the precipice of learning about what happened to Dulce and Damian but are being kept dangling.

I feel for the poor soul needing to clean up Leandro's apartment...

Just marvelous Jarifa, thank you!

Diana

Vencer

Thanks, Jarifa, the episodes we’re edge of your seat and so was your recap.

Leandro has real mental problems. All that glass broken with a bat! I wish Amanda had seen him like that.

I wonder if Dulce and Brayan are one and the same? Dulce could be transgender. Although I guess they would know at the autopsy. More mysteries.

Amanda needs to hold on to the inheritance until Tamara is completely divorced. I know her dad left her something that she’ll have to split but Amanda got the bulk of the estate and needs to hang onto it. Right now her kids don’t deserve anything from her. I can see Leandro being upset but Tamara should just be disappointed in her mom. Although Leandro knew his dad cheated so he should understand. Tamara saw her dad as she wanted to. They both knew he was mean to their mom.

I’m looking forward to the two evil ones trying to ruin Manuela and Pablo’s lives but I’m confident they’ll triumph in the end.

I was also surprised at Julieta’s mature behavior. Is she going to turn into a perfect daughter? Julieta’s friends seem to like Susie. Maybe they’re tired of the brat.

Diana, I’m pretty sure that was a lottery ticket Paloma’s mother tried to buy. There was something similar on a previous telenovela.

Jarifa, thank you for that thorough report . You gave us all the scary details as Leondro melted into BSC in front of an audience , including his children. Yikes. People can only wear a mask for so long before the mask slips at some point and reveals their true natures.

His tantrum smashing scene brought back memories of Invincible when Ramses battered up and destroyed his brother's place.

Looks like Yanelli's brother isn't going to be a help to her . He seems to be bringing more problems her way . Maybe Genero will turn out to be the good brother once all the mysteries are unraveled.

VENCER

Diana, thanks. I so enjoyed these two episodes that could not have been more packed. I think that Paloma's mother was going to buy lottery tickets on the street but I admit I didn't pay much attention to the details of that storyline. I am also at Walter's table with you on the patio. I didn't like him at first but after his show of kindness to Paloma's parents, he has really changed my mind. He seems a really good guy while Franco is in the "meh" zone for me. I agree that we r really didn't need Vic to arrive onto the scene: another failed macho of a guy looking for something for nothing it seems. I so hope that he and his family find better pickens' in Michoacán at his mother-in-law's house. Yes, Julieta's handling of her father was a surprise and a pleasant one. There is hope for her. i wonder what news the detective has for Carmina. Can't wait for tonight!

VENCER

Susan, "People can only wear a mask for so long before the mask slips at some point and reveals their true natures." You can say that again. Leandro's rotten self just could not be contained anymore. "His tantrum smashing scene brought back memories of Invincible when Ramses battered up and destroyed his brother's place." I bet that Gabriel Soto must have had fun int that scene with that golf club.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 90 - Jueves, 11 de enero, 2024

Bare bones - Highlights - Some scenes not in order - Part 1/2

I had some technical problems. Minas patio, check your emails. I've sent one to everyone whose email I know (Diana and Urban).

Leo sees the paternity test sent to him by Danilo. He questions Victoria about it, asking her if she knew. She murmurs that she didn't until now.

Tigre tells Sebas and Gael about Victoria being like Emilia. Sebas and Gael try to keep the secret, but they're not doing that good of a job, since Tigre is now convinced Victoria is Emilia. I guess he put two and two together, after 60 something episodes of Victoria Alcázar coming to San Pedro. Speedy.

Marijó cries and she goes to her room. She overhears Joaquina confronting Roberta for being a killer. Roberta still has her bitchy stone cold attitude, as always.

Leo is still shocked about the results he just got when Roberta enters. Leo wants to take Nico and Rob insists on not giving him and mentions him (Nico) being her property. Victoria says children aren't anyone's property, they're human beings. Details, Victoria. Mar enters with Nico and Leo ignores Roberta and takes him. Rob threatens him one last time with legal action. Leo must have gotten some cojones implanted, FINALLY, because he stands up to her and takes Nico.

Jenny cries in her mother's arms about her baby. She admits she lost it some time ago and didn't tell Orlando. Gigí comforts her, but Jenny just cries and says it's her fault.

Emilia goes home and has a talk with the gang, aka Aleida, Sebas and Danilo. Dan defends himself for sending Leo the paternity test results. Sebas has an idea that will suit all their interests or something, but Emilia is too focused on her venganza. Al and Dan go to bed, with Sebas asking Emilia what happened to the woman he used to admire, IIRC. Emilia just says she has to bring justice here.

Leo returns home with Nico. Sara and Romy are there too and Sara says that she and Leo will give it another go. Leo doesn't say anything, for now, I guess because he thinks she's in a delicate state.

Addled and Fidel pass by the restaurant. Liz called it: Addled threatens Míriam with taking her son away for her "drug trafficking".

Ezequiel informs Roberta about Clemente dying and Sebas being suspected for the murder. Huh? Roberta smiles and says they can use this.

Mar confronts Joaquina about Roberta being a killer. Jo is trying to figure out where the heck Mar heard this from.

Fidel tells Roberta that Gigí looks like she's ahead of Sara in the elections and says Victoria financing her might be a reason why. He proposes a plan I didn't really understand and then Roberta threatens him about Vic. It looks like Fidel is starting to understand what he got himself into. Sorry not sorry.

Orlando cries to Flor about wanting to be a dad.

Mar tells Rob to leave los Sánchez in peace. Sure, like Roberta is going to...

When Vic and Sebas go to the company, Tigre asks her if she's Emilia. Vic and Sebas share a look.

Leo has decided to end this lie; he tells Sara he knows about her affair with Benito (Danilo). Sara insists on not having one and Leo shows her the paternity test. Whoops. Sara cries and proves she hasn't learnt her lesson by lying some more. She says she didn't know she was pregnant when she slept with him (Leo) and that she never imagined the baby would be Benito's. Suuureee. Leo isn't having it and leaves.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 90 - Jueves, 11 de enero, 2024

Bare bones - Highlights - Some scenes not in order - Part 2/2

Sebas tries to not let the truth about Emilia get revealed, but Emilia snaps at some point and admits the truth to her father. They hug and she tells him everything she's been through, including the whole mental hospital fire thing.

Mar cries to Gael and tells him her father, Ignacio, was murdered by Roberta. He comforts her. Poor Mar.

Gigí visits Zaira and manages to convince her to get involved in politics, with her party (is it called a party when it's about presidency? It's nighttime and I'm tired).

Dan calls Sara, who's too busy in her political party, talking with her dad and Fidel. She doesn't answer the call.

Roberta enters Sebas' office and calls him a murderer!

In the last scene of the episode, Leo and Dan are hostile with each other when Victoria enters the scene and tries to calm them down. Leo asks her who the heck is Benito (Dan) and why she's defending him.

And with that tense moment, we have the Fin del Capítulo...

Minas

Shower thought: what happened to Leo's other company in the capital? 🤔

VENCER

Thanks, LIz. “I wonder if Dulce and Brayan are one and the same.” That would be a unique twist to the story, wouldn’t it? “Right now her kids don’t deserve anything from her.” I couldn’t believe how Leandro and Tamara talked to Amanda no matter what the situation was. And knowing that their father mistreated her just made it worse. She should be waiting for them to make amends not the other way around. She owes them nothing at this point. Both of them were more than happy to use her to care of Everardo knowing how hard she had had it with him when they simply didn’t want to be bothered. They owe her big time.

Vencer 48/49

Great work, Jarifa.

The level of abuse and violence in this story is almost over the top. Leandro is the one who needs a stay in the manicomio.

Tamara: Turns on her mother, who was only trying to help her get free of Nico. Now since she had made the same stupid financial decision as Amparo in MCEA she is paying the piper. She should have known better and Mexico needs to change its laws about this.

Amanda: Didn't we once hear that her parents made her marry Everude-o instead of the man she really loved? Her kids should know this but now it's unlikely they'd buy it. Everude-o probably did not abuse her in front of them when they were children.

She would be better off without them. She should not be lowering herself to Leandro. He is a loser or he wouldn't be such a bully. She should also refrain from distributing the inheritances until Tamara gets her divorce but that is most likely an uphill battle.

Lorena: Gutsier than she looks and I was cheering her escape. We now know that her father died (how long ago?) and Leandro now runs the firm. Did he murder his way to that?

Walter: He should not be helping Paloma's deadbeat parents. Has he forgotten that they threw him out of her life?

Julieta: Good for her that she called Leandro out but I don't think she realizes yet that he is a major psychopath.

Victor: He isn't what Yaneli thought he was and if he was deported he is likely to be dangerous.

Carmina: As predicted, now in cahoots with Leandro.

We are probably also on the brink of finding out the truth about Dulce.

Minas
Thanks, weirdo.
I don´t know why, but I didn´t care all that much about tigre finally learning the truth. I think his treatment of Zaira and the fact he didn´t support Emilia when she became pregnant made me really indiferent towards him here. I mean, he supposedly got all depressed when she died but when she needed help... Who was there? Any guesses? Sebas!!! Emilia says something about tigre filling their fridge with food even though he was angry, so I'm assuming this might have been when he thought it was her fault she got pregnant and that this was a disgrace. You know, I'm starting to see a pattern here. Emilia had a father who judged her without evidence, then she picked a man who did exactly the same and seems to love him beyond all reason and when it no longer seems like a healthy thing. Like my theory?:)
as for Leo, no cantemos victoria (let's not sing victory) until he actually has to go to court Roberta threatened him with.
Sebas dislikes the fact Emilia is willing to sacrificeinnocent people to get revenge. Aleida and Dan agree. When she says 'I just want to save my kid', those two are like 'and what about our kids?' I won't say it...I won't...but this is just like...Invencible.
But how the hell would they acuse Sebas? He wasn't in the car that hit theguy? Wasn't he chasing after him on foot? I know they are all corrupt and so on, but poor Sebas doesn't deserve this suffering.
I have a question. How did Flor convince Miriam to sell those drugs? I mean, if she had said no, Addled wouldn't have anything to threaten her with. I'm confused.
My jaw dropped when Sara lied again. The woman is self-destructive. There's no way she loves anyone.
How did Gigi learn what happened to Jen?
Fidel talked something about Sara's campaign needing more publicity. Roberta is veery displeased about this because Vicky's money will be used to achieve this aim. Fidel talks about using Victoria until they squeezed every last cent out of her.
Emilia noticed Sebas is avoiding her and starts talking about how she needs him and his help. To be honest, I got rather angry at her here. I don't know why exactly, but there's just something about her expecting him to always help when she knows full well he is in love with her. In some way it feels as though she takes him for granted and is almost using him because he is willing.
question: how am I supposed to start liking Leo with only less than 20 episodes left? I can't even respect the guy. I very much would like to ask the writers what was the point of having a character like Sebas in the story but giving Emi to Leo, who won without a fight. The wole corzon no se manda just seems such a silly saying when a galan is like Leo.
On the one hand, I do feel sorry for Joaquina. But on the other, she has been hiding Roberta's secrets for way too long.I still don't get why she left in the first place. What did her leaving have to do with Leo suffering less? Because she mentioned something along those lines.

MINAS

Weirdo, I’m so sorry you had technical issues. So frustrating. But you did a marvelous job…I responded to your e-mail.

“Victoria says children aren't anyone's property, they're human beings. Details, Victoria” was perfect and had me laughing out loud.

You landed expertly on every important event that occurred.

In the first few scenes, there was much angst with Tigre, Marijo and Joaquin doing their fair share of chest clutching and hyperventilation in their respective scenes 😊

Upon arriving home after receiving Danilo’s text, Leo is greeted by Sara who natters on about what a wonderful family they are, followed by the fact Leo is giving her a second chance. When Leo simply stared and said NOTHING, I was dumbfounded! Thankfully, he did confront her later but was dispassionate and emotionless with just barely a ripple of anger under the surface. Why can he never rant and rave like a normal person????

I thought Emilia’ revelation to Tigre was very touching. His eyes were shining with hope and she teared up as he caressed her cheek. When he said it is you mi Emilia, I was crying as well. When he kissed her hand she answered (finally) that she is. The huge distraction however was that Emilia’s office is a veritable fishbowl with her all-glass walls. I had to smile that not one of the diligent workers sitting out ever looked in their direction which definitely did not mirror real life 😊.

Things get more tense between Roberta and Fidel in every episode. I hope they cancel each other out…

Diana

VENCER

Thanks, Urban. I enjoyed reading your take on all of the characters. I was also pleasantly surprised by Lorena and was happy to see she felt like she could trust Manuela and that Manuela came through for her. Yes, it looks like Julieta is going to probably see even worse behavior from her father. I wonder if Leandro will do a DNA test on her like his father wanted him to do. That seems to be the last loose end from the Everardo period.

After tonight, we have 29 episodes left so that is about 6 weeks depending on scheduling.

Vencer

Jarifa, I'm so glad the power outage didn't last too long and that you stayed warm and cozy. Thanks a bunch for the detailed recaps of two very busy, very pivotal epis. My head is spinning and I'm stilling processing it all, including the brat growing up a bit.

MINAS IS ON

The previews were right; Comcast's schedule was wrong...

Hope everyone who watches is able to tune in.

MINAS

Good morning everyone.

As noted above, the episode did air after all. Ack...

Weirdo, kindly let us know if you will be able to do the recap when and if you are able. If not, I will put something up, I took a few notes.

"MINAS" EPISODE#90:

Weirdo: Howdy from the Alamo City. Enjoyed your full-scale recap of last night's episode. I was pissed off & enraged when Psycho Roberta referred to Nico as her property.

Too bad this Telenovela could've been a Superseries (see Telemumdo's "ESDLC") & drag this out for years.

Waterlily: I strongly agree with you about Adelia & Danillo's body language when they were looking at Emilia "You need to calm down & stop sacrificing our kids".

Minas #90

Thanks, Weirdo. I'm late with this one, as usual these days.

Danilo should not have sent the document to Leo, but at least Leo has evidence for his divorce. TN law has prevailed again.

"After all I've done for you..." Really, Countess Bathory? You couldn't stand that Leo was a better person than your lapdog, Mauricio? All you did was try to drink his blood.

Prediction on Addled's plans for Miriam was right on the money.

Kudoos to Gigi for becoming a normal mother. However, Sara is becoming more pathetic.

Will Roberta kill Fidel? I'd prefer the reverse.

Will Tigre survive this revelation?

Fashion Issues:

Why is Fidel always in plaid? Is it about Addled being in plaid (I only noticed that recently)?

I can't wait for Livia Brito's next novela when she can wear her real hair. I can't blame her for not wanting to cut her real hair and this wig is too fake-looking. There should have been others that would show growth over several episodes. That was done for the toupees worn by William Shatner during production of Star Trek.

Minas

Thanks guys.

I'm in a rush. Diana, thanks for asking about Friday's episode. I did NOT expect an epi airing on Friday. I'll do the recap tomorrow.

On a rush. I'll reply to your spot on comments tomorrow.

MINAS

Thanks Weirdo!

Urban, "Will Roberta kill Fidel? I'd prefer the reverse" had me nodding grimly in agreement.

I labeled Fidel "ForeverPlaid" a bit ago. However, until you just pointed it out, I never noticed Addled wore plaid!! As he's constantly shoving food in his mouth, I'm always cringing at that and his non-existent table manners :)bI will need to pay more attention. Fantastic observation.

VENCER

The recap is in process. : ) It will be up this evening some time.

VENCER LA CULPA #50/#51 Part One

THE LOST ARE FOUND

"It isn't necessary to go very far to look for the truth. It can be hidden in the very closest place."

The prosecutor is only saying that many times people in organized crime do not have a legal paper trail. People change their names. There is no evidence of Nora Pardo existing either. Amanda is afraid that Dulce could be the victim of some violent act. She saw the bruises on her arms. The prosecutor says that Genaro could have caused those. Yaneli says he can't be sure that. She suggests they look back at the letter. She says no more but remembers her brother telling her that the answer was in the letter.

Pablo tells Manuela what happened the day that he threw out Damián. Carmina complained that he was dressing Pablito like a girl. He never saw this for himself. He took Carmina's word and later realized that she probably made it all up. He admits that his reaction was extreme and not in proportion to what it should have been. He thinks that Damián could be hiding from him.

Detective Suárez still has not been able to locate Damián but is confident they will find him. Carmina tells him to hurry up so she can look like a heroine and bring Pablo to see him.

Paloma remembers talking to a grateful and happy Dulce and commending her parents for having raised her so well. They must be super proud of her! Dulce's demeanor changed from sweet to sour. Paloma asked if she said something wrong. Dulce doubted her parents would be proud of her.

Yaneli tells the other women that her brother told her the answer to what happened to Dulce was in the letter and that he would not elaborate. Manuela suggests he must have been threatened not to say more. Manuela is going to take another looks at the photo she took of the letter.

Manuela tells Pablo that Brayan's bracelet had Dulce's DNA on it when they compared it with the DNA that they got from the ring in the box they found.

Carmina tells Pablo Nancy found out that Damián was a lot closer than they ever imagined. His son told them lots of things but he is still in Guadalajara controlling things.

Near the Centro Atenea, Manuela talks to María about a girl she found. She asks why she didn't call the police. The woman says she was afraid. it isn't the first time that something has happened like this near where she lives in Migración neighborhood. Today in the morning there was a police operation near her home. They seemed to be looking for somebody. This isn't the first time. As for the crime, women have been thrown out over there near the construction site before. Manuela agrees it is the same all over. When is this ever going to stop? María also didn't call the police because the girl said not to call anyone. She would only repeat "Centro Atenea" so that is when she decided to call. María leads Manuela to the family car. Her husband Beto says that the girl took a turn for the worse and they were going to drop her off at a hospital some where but since Manuela is there, they are going to turn the girl over to her. Manuela uncovers the girl's face and is confronted by an unconscious, bloodied and bruised Dulce. Manuela asks how Dulce got there. María says she appeared at their door three or four days ago. Her husband saw her just thrown there, hurt and really afraid. They felt sorry for her and took her into their home to help her out. Manuela calls Vicky to fill her in. Beto adds that the girl told them not to tell the police or anyone because she was in danger. Then she fainted. They said not a word to anyone but then yesterday she got really really bad and all she could do was repeat"Manuela. Atenea". Maria decided to look for Manuela. Vicky arrives and Manuela tells her to call an ambulance. Rather than wait for the ambulance, Beto takes Dulce out of the car and lays her on the sidewalk. He doesn't want to talk to the police. He and his wife are out of there.

VENCER Part Two

Carmina tells Pablo that it isn't even a year since Damián was seen in the Chapultepec neighborhood in Guadalajara. She has to add that it is where all of the deviants hang out. That doesn't go over well with Pablo. Pablo wonders if Damián went back to Guadalajara because maybe he needed help but didn't dare contact him. Pablo asks if he is still here. Carmina thinks so. She will be happy take Pablito and go there to find him or Pablo can go on his own. Pablo asks how is Nancy is certain that the person was Damián.

Manuela and Vicky are with an unconscious Dulce at the hospital. They agree to call the prosecutor. Somebody is out to kill Dulce. This was no accident. They agree that Bravo may be overworked but he isn't corrupt. Manuela doesn't have much confidence in him. Dulce regains consciousness, Manuela tells her where she is and who she is. All Dulce can do is repeat "Damián."

Manuela tells Vicky that she has told nobody that Dulce has been found and that includes Pablo. He called her and told her that he might have a clue to where Damián is. Manuela thinks that Damián might be Dulce's attacker since she keeps repeating his name. Manuela might be waiting before she says anything to Pablo. Vicky says they understand the protocol when a woman has been violently attacked and is at risk. Discretion is the best choice in cases like that. Vicky is going to talk to prosecutor Bravo so he doesn't find out about the incident from somebody else first.

Pablo has sent Carlos to Guadalajara to look for Damián.

Detective Suárez calls Carmina with news. She is shocked by what he has to tell her and doesn't want to believe it.

The doctor talks to Manuela about Dulce's condition. He doesn't know how she survived for so long. She suffered a very hard blow to the head. Her brain is swollen so they are going to put her in medically induced coma to deal with that. He says they also need to discuss a more complex issue the patient has and takes Manuela to his office to discusss it.

Carmina tells Nancy she has no idea how to tell Pablo what she found out about Damián. She is hopeful that all of the rage that Pablo has held for her is just going to vanish when he sees the monstrosity that his son has become. Carmina refuses to concoct any other stories since Damián is going to appear. The time has come for her to do something radical.

Pablo informs Manuela that Carmina told him that his son was in Guadalajara. She asks him if he believes her. He has his doubts but has a friend investigating any way. He says she sounds odd. She blames it on her work. There are protocols that limit what she can tell him. He understands. She says they will talk when it is possible. She is currently working a very painful case where a girl was violently attacked.

Vicky is surprised what the doctor told Manuela about Dulce. She asks her what she is going to do. Manuela says she doesn't know but that it is not something she should no talk about with anyone. It is Dulce's private business. That being said, she is still confused when thinking about everything. What is Dulce really confessing to in that letter? Maybe if Damián read it, he got angry and attacked her but from what Pablo has told her, it doesn't sound like Damián. Is the letter a farewell letter or a confession? Maybe Dulce is saying something else. Maybe she is saying goodbye to Damián.

Pablo is talking to Carlos about the Chapultepec neighborhood in Guadalajara. Carlos identifies it as a LGBT section of town. Carlos
starts to say something else but never gets to finish because Carmina comes running in having to tell Pablo something urgent. She tells him to forget about Guadalajara. Nora Pardo called her and told her where Damián is. They need to go right now. An exuberant Carmina wants him to come with her so that he knows that she is not lying. She tells him to trust her. He is going to see Damián again!! She tells him to hurry up!!

VENCER Part Three

During a visit at the jail, Yaneli brings up Dulce's letter with Genaro. What has then lawyer said about it? Genaro said the letter would resolve the mystery surrounding Dulce and who knows what else. Genaro isn't eager to discuss it. She asks him what he is hiding as he looks uncomfortable. He answers that it isn't easy. He still thinks about it and he doesn't get it. If he is keeping it to himself, it is because there is a very important reason to do so since it is about the relationship between Dulce and Damián.

Manuela is in Dulce's room. Dulce is in her induced coma. It hurts Manuela so much thinking about what Dulce must have suffered. She feels guilty for not having listened to her when she came to see her and for not having been able to help her avoid this suffering. She has so many questions for her. What she would give to know who she really is. Carmina bursts into the room with Pablo close behind. Pablo approaches the bed with a quizzical look on his face. Manuela asks what they are doing there. Pablo asks Manuela if that is Dulce. She says yes. He asks why she didn't tell him that she had been found. He asks about his son. Was he with Dulce? Carmina breaks in telling Pablo he has to be really strong. He asks why??? If the girl is in this kind of condition, it must mean that Damián is in bad condition, too. He asks if she was with Damián. He asks where is Damián. Carmina says he is right in front of him. This little girl in front of him, whose name is Dulce, is really Damián his son. He is shocked and silent.

"There is nothing worse than being manipulated by a truth that reveals itself to us in a way we never could have imagined."

EVERYTHING ELSE

Chiro keeps coaxing Julieta to take those pills because he wants to see her with a womanly body not like the one he saw in her photo.

Leandro is texting Julieta trying to regain her trust. He was born to be a father. He reminds her of the trip to Korea. He only allowed her brothers to go with their mother because SHE asked him. He just needs her and her mother to come back. Blah. Blah. Blah.

Enrique's son Nacho wants to fire Yaneli because she was late. Enrique shuts him down. Amanda will talk to Yaneli about her schedule. Susana the elder finds out that Nacho was only looking for a job for his novia. Nope, Susana the elder will not hire her either.

David is going to ask Angeles for Ricky's hand in marriage. Pablo is there with Manuela to hear about that.

Manuela and Pablo meet and they kiss in Angeles' kitchen.

VENCER Part Four

Manuela shows Julieta the "motel" photo of her and Pablo and tells her that they were looking for his son when somebody took the photo of them. She wanted to tell Julieta about it so nobody could use the photo against them. She admits to Julieta that she has special feelings for Pablo but that they are not dating. She wants to be honest with Julieta.

Julieta is getting sullen again. Ricky and Angeles have noticed.

Enrique and Amanda decide to give their relationship another chance. it turns to that Enrique didn't marry for love either. His girlfriend got pregnant. He did come to love her, though, during their marriage.

We see how Paloma met Walter. They were outside before a presentation was going to take place. She didn't know who Walter was and bad-mouthed the person giving the presentation not knowing that Walter was the presenter.

Franco tells Paloma that he has officially quit his job but he is not quitting her.

Leandro agrees to handle Tamara's divorce.

Amanda meets with her two ungrateful and disrespectful children. She tells them that she is signing over her portion of the inheritance to them ASAP. She wants it divided 50/50 between them. She is doing that to be fair and not out of guilt. She says she now knows it was a mistake not to be honest about who Leandro's father was but he really was treated like Everardo's son. She won't back down. She will not take any disrespect. She refuses to take any blame for Everardo's death since they all know that he was going to de any day from his illness. She still adores both of them. She apologizes for the situation one last time. Leandro isn't moved. Tamara cannot be that upset with her because she is more than happy to take advantage of Amanda's babysitting services when offered.

Yaneli publishes her expose of Edgardo on the social networks. He stops by the pet shop to tell her he doesn't care. She will be the one who will end up looking bad. Vic and his wife complain to her about it . A girl responds saying that Edgardo did the same thing to her. Yaneli and Axel go to see her but she becomes uncooperative when she learns that Axel is Edgardo's nephew. She thinks she has been set up.

Nico publishes a very insulting video about Amanda on the social networks as he threatened to do.

Yaneli and Vic visit Genaro at the jail. It comes out that Vic was deported and that is why he is back in Mexico. He admits he was a bad brother to them.

Walter still want to marry Paloma but will not pressure her.

Walter is doing the best he can with Paloma's parents and they are grateful. Through his attention and therapy, they have come to realize what they did to their daughter and are kicking their gambling habit. They have a great idea for a small business: regional tamales! They think back about all the times they used Paloma to fuel their habit. There was the time that they bought her a computer and then sold it for money to gamble with and allowed her to think she had lost it. They show up one day at her job to touch base and tell her about how they are changing for the better. They look and sound happy. They are not ready to be in full communication with her yet but will be in touch.

Paloma meets with both Franco and Walter at her place. She has something to tell them but she gets a call from Manuela to come to the hospital to see Dulce. We and they never find out what she was going to tell them.

VENCER

A big congrats to Liz who brought up the possibility of a transgender story line earlier this week!

More later. I cannot wait to read what you think.

VENCER

Oh Jarifa, your consummate recap was riveting, every word. You masterfully relayed every spoken word, reaction and revelation. Your words brought everything to life perfectly.

“It isn't necessary to go very far to look for the truth. It can be hidden in the very closest place." Near, yet shrouded in almost impenetrable mystery.

I’ve been reeling since last night, thinking of all the now seemingly obvious clues that I completely misinterpreted. Dulce writing on Damian’s picture that she hated him was so confounding and confusing. “Yaneli tells the other women that her brother told her the answer to what happened to Dulce was in the letter and that he would not elaborate”. The words spoke for themselves, but in forked tongue. “Is the letter a farewell letter or a confession? Maybe Dulce is saying something else. Maybe she is saying goodbye to Damian”. It appears all of the above are true. Now everything has come together to make sense. The writers did a sensational job on this, leading us on a wild goose chase, high and low and everywhere in between. Well, well done!

Pablo had let Damian down in every conceivable way. I hope he will now offer Dulce his support and love which was sorely lacking with Damian. Beyond that, Dulce still seems in imminent danger so she is not out of the woods yet.

“Julieta is getting sullen again. Ricky and Angeles have noticed”. Me too Jarifa! It was a far too brief sojourn into the light although Chiro is leading her on a very dark and devious path.

“Leandro is texting Julieta trying to regain her trust. He was born to be a father”. Leandro’s delusional ego is a sight to behold. A very sore sight.

Even though Walter is being too good to be true, I have a sinking feeling Paloma is going to choose Franco.

Amanda is being very brave doing what she can to chastise horrid Tamara and Leandro. At least she and Enrique are back together.

Liz, congratulations on your astute prediction!

Jarifa, there is still so much to think about and process; I also can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks!

I wanted to mention also that I'm thinking that the scene where Genero was shaking and manhandling Dulce was right after he found out Dulce was Damian??

Diana

VENCER

Thanks, Diana! Recapping these two episodes was so much fun.

“The writers did a sensational job on this . . .” They certainly did! In these episodes, I thought the way that they hinted about there being something different about Dulce via the doctor and then in the conversation between Manuela and Vicky was so well done. Genaro evidently knew what was what but still would not give up Dulce’s secret. Who would be threatening her or him for that matter and why?

I hope Carmina’s plan backfires on her big time.

VENCER

Diana, good point about the Genaro shaking Dulce scene. That would make sense.

Vencer

Wow is all I can say, Jarifa. What a great episode and a great recap of it. I did toy with the idea of the Dulce/Bryan transgender but didn’t take myself seriously. I never dreamed Dulce was Damian! And I agree with Diana, the letter now makes sense. Dulce hated being Damian so she hated him and all the pain she suffered as Damian. I just hope Pablo can accept him. I think Carmina is counting on him not being accepting of Dulce. I’m hoping he’s not mad at Manuela. I’m guessing the doctor told her she was transgender but they wouldn’t have know her former identity. Pablo seemed uncomfortable with the wedding talk and this is his own child. He’ll need counseling for sure.

Amanda and Enrique lost the lottery on the kids they had. I hope they find love with each other and move on from the disapproval of their children.

Julieta’s maturity lasted a day maybe. Back to the Brat.

It seems strange that Paloma has to choose between the two men. How would you do that. Make a list of pros and cons. But it seems she doesn’t think it’s fair to them to keep them hanging.

Hopefully Genero will be released from jail and handle his brother and Edgardo. I don’t think Vic and family have any plans to help Yaneli.

Liz

VENCER

Thanks, Liz. "Pablo seemed uncomfortable with the wedding talk and this is his own child. He’ll need counseling for sure" I like how this novela keeps making the case that prejudices cannot be changed overnight. "It seems strange that Paloma has to choose between the two men. How would you do that." She doesn't seem blown away by either of them. Why would you get married unless there was real passion there? I think she should get rid of both of them. I don't get any good vibes from Vic inspire of him being apologetic at the jail.

Have there been other novelas recently that have had a transgender plot?

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 91 - Viernes, 12 de enero, 2024

In circles we go, with some truths revealed - Part 1/3

Vic sends Dan away and tells Leo that she knew "Benito" from Spain yada yada. She adds that he didn't have any doubts Romy was his daughter and when Leo confirms it she replies he must have been having an affair with Sara while he was with Emilia.

Gael comforts Mar and assures her Ignacio's death wasn't her fault, she couldn't have known about Roberta. Mar mumbles something about her (I guess she also wants revenge) when Lolita opens the door. Unfortunately for everyone, Cayetana walks in, kissing Gael and saying he's her boyfriend. Mar leaves, but tells Cayetana to enjoy her boyfriend (in the most hateful way possible) before she does. I wonder why Gael and Mar let this continue. Joaquina is free...

Leo says he didn't have an affair with Sara, they only did it once, when Emilia had just lost their baby and he was in a bad state and adds that Emi was the love of his life. Bonita forma de mostrarlo, idiota. (Nice way of showing it, idiot!) For some unknown reason, Vic apologies to Leo (!). So she's not pissed that when she went through such a traumatic situation, her love not only wasn't there for her, but he slept with Sara? Or is it okay because "he was in a bad state?" So if, hypothetically, the roles were reversed, Emi slept with someone because "she was in a bad state", got pregnant, married the guy and let Leo in his misery in the manicomio because "better that than prison", Leo would have been okay with it? Or does this rule apply to men only? I hate the underground misogyny in this show. Funny, really, considering female empowerment is a topic in the telenovela. Funny or enraging, depending on your point of view. But I think I've ranted a lot...

Al tries to calm Dan down. She tells him to make a sacrifice for Romina (?).

Roberta tells Sebas he killed Clemente and mentions Victoria - or should she call her Emilia? Sebas freezes and mumbles he has no idea what she's talking about. Roberta just laughs and says she got what she came here for or something and leaves.

Flor hits another waitress and some forks (?) fall down. Orlando helps her and they share a look, just as Jenny walks in. Flor tells Jenny she's sorry about what happened with her and leaves. Jenny screams at Orlando something about forgetting their problems quickly (is that correct ? I'm having trouble with the screaming) as he tries to talk to her.

Joaquina prays about finding a way to lock Roberta up. She remembers the infamous blackmail-with-Ignacio's-death scene.

Roberta finds a small box for her. She first reads the small paper that went with it - Do you sleep well at night? She opens the box and finds the tie with which they buried Ignacio! Sara enters - she didn't see the box thing and hands Roberta some papers, she quits. Rob tells her she can't quit because she needs her people with her, Emilia is alive!

Zaira is crying about her divorce and Gigí is comforting her. With a sponsored creme. Thanks I guess?

Tigre reads a letter Zaira wrote to him about leaving to convince herself she can live without him and about still loving him. Tigre looks sad. Well, what where you thinking when you told her you had an affair with Lolita, you dimwit?

Rob insists someone must have changed the DNA test results for Emi. Gossip must travel fast in San Lorenzo, because Sara looks like she's thinking "ah, yes, she IS losing it".

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 91 - Viernes, 12 de enero, 2024

In circles we go, with some truths revealed - Part 2/3

Leo has a loooooong talk with Joaquina which can be summarised in a few sentences. He wants her to go with them, she says she can't because she has to defeat Roberta. Leo starts tearing up and mentions killing his father. Joaquí screams at him that he didn't kill his father! Leo asks her to tell him the truth, does she know something? She insists that he didn't kill his father and adds that he's a good man (that's debatable). Leo remembers his dad getting better and then suddenly dying. My bet? Rob killed her first husband and made Leo think he did it on purpose, just to make him feel more miserable. Oh and Leo told her about Romy not being his. Joaquí, shocked, says he IS Romy's father since he's the one who raised her.

Míriam gives drugs to some client when Sebas sees her stuffing 500 pesos (30 bucks). "500 pesos for water, Míriam?" he asks her. He sees the drugs and is shocked, asking her how could she do this? Míriam screams at him about not letting her do what she wants. She screams so loudly that some unfriendly looking men approach them. Míriam says Sebas was leaving. Ughhhh. I can't stand how Míriam is treating Sebas.

Marijó goes to Victoria's and tells her she voted against her because Roberta threatened her with Joaquina. She adds she overheard Rob and Joaquí talking, they mentioned Rob being a killer. Mar continues saying she wants revenge for what she did to Don Esteban (Leo's father) and her own father.

Rob is with Patricio. They've called Ramiro (the annoying miner who's not so annoying nowadays) and Rob orders him to find evidence that Victoria/Emilia and Leonardo are guilty of doing something with the land I didn't catch. "And if they're aren't any?" Ram asks. Rob smiles and tells him to make some then. Ram's shocked.

Back to Vic with Mar, Vic assures Mar she'll help her lock Rob up, but Mar has second thoughts. Who is she, really? The only thing she told them is that she has some son they've never seen. Vic doesn't really reply and Mar, enraged, screams something about Vic being Rob's accomplice and goes to leave. Vic grabs her hand and says she has a son, Nicolás, who's in Roberta's hands. Mar, confused, says she doesn't understand. Victoria reveals herself as Emilia. Mar doesn't believe it, she says it can't be true, Emilia is dead! Emi tells her some things only Emilia and Mar knew (the ambulance scene with Emi and Mar the day Mau died) and Mar gets convinced. "Emilia", she says and they hug while crying. And at one point she said "but you're so different!" That cracked me up. Shorter hair and blue contact lenses? Yeah, no.

Ram, obviously shocked, says Emi is dead and innocent and she can't possibly frame her own son. Rob laughs and with some help by Patricio, grabs a knife and slides in on Ram's neck, not hurting him of course, only threatening him. She mentions his family and Ram is pretty damn scared.

Leo goes home and sees Addled has invited some photographers over to take pictures of Sara, Romy and Nicolás all together. Addled invites him to sit with them and have their picture taken. Leo at first says no but Nico asks him to and Leo accepts.

Later, some guy (Patricio?) gives Ram's kids a gift for their father, from la Patrona.

After the photographers have left, Sara thanks Leo for doing this for the kids. She says she owes him an apology and they go outside to talk.

The kids are arguing about whether or not they should open the present. Ram enters as the young kid opens the "gift", which turns out that it's a snake and a spider. Gee, thanks. Remind me NOT to invite Roberta to my birthday...

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 91 - Viernes, 12 de enero, 2024

In circles we go, with some truths revealed - Part 3/3

Sebas informs Emi of Míriam selling drug in Addled's drug business. Dan hacks into the old mine's files, which were hard to crack and shows Emi and Sebas a report. IIRC they concluded from that that Roberta didn't do anything to help when the mine explosion took place, I think. They say they can use this against Rob. Yeah, I've got news for you; you can't use stolen proof as evidence... When Dan leaves, Sebas tells Emi her revenge is draining her.

Sara screams that yes, Romy isn't your daughter and maybe we should get divorced and end this. Uh oh, Romy and Nico were walking towards Sara and Leo when she said that and they heard. "Mom, my dad isn't my dad?" Romy asks as Sara touches her own face desperately.

In the last scene of the episode, Joaquina tells Vic she wants to help her, even though God will punish her or something. Vic lists some of the evil things Roberta has done, including murder. Jo is on the verge of defending Rob again when she asks Vic who is she really? Vic asks her who is SHE, why does she always defend Roberta even though she knows what she's done?

And with that temporarily unanswered great question, we have the Fin del Capítulo.

Minas
Thanks, weirdo. And thanks for ranting at exactly the same spot of the episodethat I picked for my rant. I was wondering while watching if the writers even realised how the whole thing sounded. What is it with men and their 'bad states'? And this is what's so annoying about Leo: he is very self-centered and always a victim. I could watch it without an issue if he didn't keep repeating Emilia was the love of his life. The guy said this in the same sentence where he mentioned sleeping with Sara. So his 'advantage' is that he didn't actually sleep with her. Isn't that a low bar for a galan? Is the character supposed to be so dispasionate when angry or is the actor sick of playing him and so is like 'let's get this over with'?
Joaquina is getting on my nerves. She actually seemed angry when she thought Victoria was acusing Roberta of things she didn't do, but somehow everyone is supposed to 'understand her' when she absolutely refuses to do anything to protect people she claims to love from Roberta. Like I said, I didn't understand how her leaving was supposed to help Leo. And even when she sees how desperate her precious Leo is to learn the truth about his father's death, she doesn't say anything useful. And she thinks God will punish her for not siding with Roberta? I cannot...Didn't it occur to her that if God punished her, it would be for keeping quiet about Roberta's crimes. So she keeps asking ZGod to enlighten Roberta because she knows Roberta has done awful things. And yet it's Roberta, according to her, that God wants her to be loyal to? She seems indoctrinated. I swear, I read a novel about a cult, and Joaquina sounds like one of its most devoted members.
It's tragic it's Romina who's going to suffer now due to Sara's selfishness. I'm not sure what would be a good enough lesson for Sara. Even when cornered, she turned to manipulation.
Miriam actually screamed that Sebas doesn't care about her when he said he is her child's father,'a father 'on paper'! I don't matter to you!' I could strangle her. So the only thing that ultimately matters to her is that he doesn't love her. That he helped raise her child, defended her from Addled on multiple ocasions, none of this matters... Why can't she accept he doesn't love her? How many other men who aren't interested in someone would go out of their way to help that someone anyway? I don't get why she hasn't changed. And is she really so stupid as to agree to sell drugs because she needs money? Why give Addledan easy way to destroy her life?
I think Roberta wanted Ramiro to get 'proof' Emilia and Leo are the ones stealing the mineral from the mine.It was funny that when Ramiro contradicted her and said Emilia didn't kill Mauricio, Roberta said she did and that he should repeat the lie until it becomes the truth. So she admits it is a lie.

MINAS

Weirdo, your insightful recap was amazing! “In circles we go, with some truths revealed” was a wry and wise title.

“Bonita forma de mostrarlo, idiota. (Nice way of showing it, idiot!)” was perfect!

“So if, hypothetically, the roles were reversed, Emi slept with someone because "she was in a bad state", got pregnant, married the guy and let Leo in his misery in the manicomio because "better that than prison", Leo would have been okay with it? “Your argument was thoughtful and well stated. Like you, I had a hard time comprehending and accepting Emilia’s seemingly far too generous understanding of Leo’s “suffering”. It was Emilia who was the victim, suffering unspeakable degradation and horror in the manicomio. Leo’s mewling was perplexing and off putting, to say the least.

I laughed when at your “Marijo told Emilia ‘but you're so different!’ That cracked me up. Shorter hair and blue contact lenses? Yeah, no”. 😊

One of the most alarming scenes to me was the “moment” Orlando and Flor had, their eyes locking and Orlando’s intent stare. Please don’t do it Orlando! We need one steadfast galan here.

I wasn’t aware Tigre had an affair with Lolita; fool.

Emilia and company are very fortunate that they’ve been able to keep one step in front of Roberta, thanks primarily to Danilo.

“Sebas informs Emi of Míriam selling drug in Addled's drug business”. But he didn’t say anything about sleeping with her, did he??

Waterlily, your comment on Leo: “Is the character supposed to be so dispassionate when angry or is the actor sick of playing him and so is like 'let's get this over with'?” was astutely descriptive.

Diana

Minas

Thanks a lot for your comments, everyone! I tremendously enjoyed your comments, the ones from yesterday and the newer ones.

"You know, I'm starting to see a pattern here. Emilia had a father who judged her without evidence, then she picked a man who did exactly the same and seems to love him beyond all reason and when it no longer seems like a healthy thing. Like my theory?:)" OMG Waterlily, I LOVE your theory! I never realised this but it's so true.

Thanks Diana, I'll reply to your email now. "Things get more tense between Roberta and Fidel in every episode. I hope they cancel each other out…" was perfect!

Urban, "Will Roberta kill Fidel? I'd prefer the reverse" was such a LOL moment!

Waterlily, "So his 'advantage' is that he didn't actually sleep with her. Isn't that a low bar for a galan? Is the character supposed to be so dispasionate when angry or is the actor sick of playing him and so is like 'let's get this over with'?" I'm also VERY enraged with how galanes are written nowadays. The do the absolute minimum and everyone acts like they saved the universe. And when they do something that should be unacceptable women should forgive it, anything they do. Ugh. Is this FOR SURE the 21st century?

"I could strangle her. So the only thing that ultimately matters to her is that he doesn't love her. That he helped raise her child, defended her from Addled on multiple ocasions, none of this matters... Why can't she accept he doesn't love her? How many other men who aren't interested in someone would go out of their way to help that someone anyway?" Was SO true. I hate Míriam. Sebas deserves SO much better. And the whole drug thing didn't make sense. And hold up, didn't she mention some sister who is in a bad state some episodes ago? Where is she?

Thanks for explaining the Roberta scene! LOL Rob admitting it's a lie was funny.

Diana, "I had a hard time comprehending and accepting Emilia’s seemingly far too generous understanding of Leo’s “suffering”." "Far too generous " is a gentle way to put it. What were the writers thinking?! And imagine that there ARE women in the writing team...

"Please don’t do it Orlando!" I nodded in agreement while reading this. Not Orlando too! We're losing one galán after another.

Tigre didn't have an affair with Lolita, he just told Zaira he had. Double fool! I should have written it a bit better.

No, Sebas didn't. Does anyone remember if Emilia and Sebas are together or if they already broke up?

Jarifa, thank you for that excellent recap of a surprising episode !!! Well, I was surprised ! I thought Dulce and Damien were connected , but not that connected.

There was a trans character in " Invencible,"

This story is unfolding . Now, where will it go? Susan

MINAS

Weirdo, thank you for explaining Tigre didn't actually have an affair; after I responded I thought he said that just to "get rid of" Zaira so appreciate your confirming. Tigre IS a fool though!

Glad you brought up Sebas and Emilia's "current" relationship. Unless there is something I've missed, I think things are just at a standstill. She seems to have backed off a bit as has he. I think Emilia is preoccupied with the situation with Roberta. To be honest, I'm surprised Sebas didn't come clean that he was with Miriam. So unlike him and not at all in keeping with his character.

It was hard enough to accept Sebas was going to end up with Miriam before, but after her agreeing to sell drugs without going to Sebas for help makes their being together even more unfathomable and unacceptable.

Weirdo, thank you for every moment of madness . I am very tired of this story and ready to get off this carousel of misery and hop onto the next ride.

The writers have let us and the actors down. The only character I still like is Sebas ...maybe Danilo. Everyone else has gotten on my nerves . I feel exhausted trying to suspend my disbelief and accept these people.

I do think Oswaldo doesn't believe in his character and the stupid lines and actions the writers have given "the hero" to say . After Em lost the baby , he had a sad , so he went to Sara. Oh my , poor little big man , boohoo, How do you think the mother of that lost baby felt, you moron? She was carrying that baby in her body. I can't even....

And yes,,Jo has a cult mentality as she makes excuses for demonic Rob. Enough. I am done with her fretting and wringing her hands like she is between a rock and a hard place , the devil and the deep blue sea. Rob is the devil. Protect these people you claim to love from the devil. It shouldn't be a hard choice!!!!

I have never been a fan of Livia , so she didn't even have me at "Hello."

Susan , waiting for the next bus .....

Thanks, Susan and thanks also for the info. I watched INVENCIBLE but not that carefully.

They did an excellent job with the Dulce /Damián plot.

Minas

Thanks Weirdo, that was excellent and helped me with things I didn’t understand.

I never liked Miriam but like her less now. I hope she’s not pregnant, I really don’t want Sebas to end up with her because he feels obligated.

I really think Roberta will end up getting committed somewhere. It seems that nightly she says things to people that make no sense. Ram has seemed to become a good guy so I wonder what he’ll do now. Follow Roberta because he fears her? I’m thinking Victoria asked for his help with the miners or something.

When is Orlando going to realize drugs are being sold at his restaurant? Or does he already know or suspect it?

Romy has two fathers. Will Sara end up with Danilo and take their daughter or will Leo fight for her? Although I can’t imagine Leo being passionate enough about anything to fight for it. But I do wish he would learn for sure that he didn’t kill his dad. That’s a heavy burden to carry through life. Joaquina has lost my respect. So many tragedies could have been prevented if she had opened her mouth.

Tigre and Mar now know Emilia is alive. Pretty soon most people will know! Although then Roberta won’t seem so crazy! So are the writers going for Roberta being committed or being brought to justice, or killed. Fidel definitely needs to rethink marriage! Although I think he already has!

Cayetana needs to go away. And where is she living?

Thanks, Weirdo.

I completely agree about Miriam. Sebas doesn't love her but she persists and in such a pathetic way. She should have just borrowed some dinero and skipped town with her son, changing their names in the process.

There is much to be said about coming from abusive households. Leo was never treated well by Roberta so he got involved with Sara whom I don't think ever truly loved him. She likely saw him as a trophy husband because of his appearance and business smarts. He has trust issues because of Roberta that went unaddressed or he would not have fallen for any part of the lie about Emilia being in any way responsible for Mauricio's death.

If Joaquina is Roberta's sister her circumstances were astronomically worse between the monster of a sperm donor and the evil sister. She's been living in fear all her life. If she is Leo's birth mother then who knocked her up? How much younger was Mauricio?

Personal story (which I may or may not have told before): I am the daughter of a narcissist and I once was involved with the son of a violent man. Said son was an excellent boyfriend but had a jealous streak. He ended our relationship because I had no self-esteem and he feared becoming like his father and taking advantage of that. This was a long time ago before domestic violence was a common subject on the early evening news so it took me a long time to recognize how it was that two of his three older sisters married violent men. One escaped after three years but the other was still in that kind of hell.

As for Romina I can't imagine how difficult this situation will be for her. Sara does not love her, but Leo and Nico do. Danilo was unaware of her existence during his absence. The writers have left themselves a number of options about this. It probably depends on whom they ultimately choose as the sacrificial lamb.

Thanks for your comments!

Diana, I am SO frustrated with the Sebas-Míriam storyline. ITA that this kind of behaviour is OOC (out of character) for him. I don't think I'll be happy at all at the end of this.

Susan, glad you commented. "After Em lost the baby , he had a sad , so he went to Sara. Oh my , poor little big man , boohoo, How do you think the mother of that lost baby felt, you moron? She was carrying that baby in her body. I can't even...." Was perfect! Are we supposed to feel sympathy for Leo when all he does is whine and get himself in weird situations? Sure, he didn't actually sleep with Sara, but he is defending himself for the inexcusable ."I was in a bad state" yeah and Emi, as you said, was all sunshine and rainbows! QTH. And infidelity has many forms, not just the sexual one.

Liz, I also think Roberta will be locked up in some sort of insane asylum. LOL about Fidel rethinking marriage! Although having to stand each other would be another type of revenge for both!

I never thought about Cayetana's place to stay, but I do now! That's a great question.

I also hope Míriam isn't pregnant. I'm already pissed off at how this is turning out and I have a bad feeling I'll be even more pissed off as we approach the Gran Final.

Urban, ITA about Míriam leaving town.

I am very sorry to read your personal story. Domestic violence is becoming more and more common nowadays. And I'm sorry to hear your mother is a narcissist. Things mustn't have been easy for you. I hope you're surrounded by great people who love you now.

"The writers have left themselves a number of options about this. It probably depends on whom they ultimately choose as the sacrificial lamb." I'm also wondering about Romy. Like I said, I don't think I'll be happy at the end...

As wild and crazy as these stories are, they are about the human condition and " the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune." Therefore, they often hold kernels of truth , and we may see something reflected from our real life situations that we have had or people in our lives have had .I have been fortunate to be surrounded by good men in my life , but I know others who have not been so fortunate . Every person has his or her own story. Nobody gets through this life unscathed by problems and trauma. Perhaps these telenovelas provide us with an opportunity to look at our own life experiences and reflect on the impact that those experiences have had on our lives .Maybe it is easier to talk about them and sort them out here . Gracias, Jarifa.

The first season of Por Amar Sin Ley had a transgender story. I was on the recap team for that one. Here is the link to it on Vix if anyone is interested (you can watch it gratis); it is one of the early cases at Vega y Associados and it's very interesting.

I can't imagine the immense difficulty it must be to come out as trans. Most parents will have at least some difficulty with this and Pablo will suffer a setback after trying to adjust to the idea that Damian might be gay; this is a whole different kettle of fish. There is some major backlash against this group in the US now, saying that teens and younger are being groomed into it. I fail to understand why this would happen unless there are some mad scientists masterminding this to create lab rats for research.

Here is a chart with estimates on a country by country basis. I admit that I do not understand the prejudice.

What I am finding disturbing about this storyline is the timing of events. Damian has been missing for 2-3 years. My interrogation begins:

-- Did s/he have any of the surgeries? How would this have been possible when the 18th birthday has not yet happened?
-- How long had Dulce worked for Amanda?
-- Transwomen still have Y chromosomes. If Dulce's DNA was identified on the red bracelet why was the TN status not then revealed?

Obviously something has changed or the doctor would not have been concerned about the possible complications of treatment. It could just be hormones, but I hope we find out tonight.

I can easily see Carmina holding this one over Pablo's head to try to reel him back in.

Victor is obviously not what Yaneli was expecting of him; this is not going to go well.

Leandro is handling Tamara's divorce but will he get up to shady crap with Nico behind her back?

Yes, Diana, I agree that this was when Genaro found out about Dulce.

MINAS

Jarifa, you asked excellent questions, I wish I had answers. Or even one answer.

"Damian has been missing for 2-3 years" is where my incredulity and outrage begin. Bad enough Pablo banished his young son out into the wilderness, alone. But surely, the dawning of what he'd done and the potential consquences, should have sunk in long ago. A handsome man with a disarming smile does not a galan make.

"I can't imagine the immense difficulty it must be to come out as trans. Most parents will have at least some difficulty with this and Pablo will suffer a setback after trying to adjust to the idea that Damian might be gay; this is a whole different kettle of fish. There is some major backlash against this group in the US now, saying that teens and younger are being groomed into it. I fail to understand why this would happen unless there are some mad scientists masterminding this to create lab rats for research". Jarifa, this was perfectly stated and I wholeheartedly concur.

I do believe that it is possible for people to change but it is a long, arduous process. You must realize and own the wrong/hurt you've caused and make amends. Being non-judgemental, with a kind and open heart is imperative. Pablo could not even accept his son's sexuality and as you noted, this is an entirely different situation. He will have a lot to process. But once the shock subsides, he must be accepting if there is any chance of repairing the rupture with his child.

Diana, I have a feeling that Pablo will embark on his hero's journey and will eventually accept Dulce. Susan

Urban, I was wondering about the dna, too!
This has become a fascinating story. My fingers are crossed that Pablo can reach the point where he is there for Dulce. She would benefit from Manuela & the girls as well, so hoping she will eventually have lots of support and acceptance!
The recaps are great! Glad we will be back to one hour episodes! But in retrospect, I’m kind of glad we got to the big reveal quickly! Lots more of this tale to unravel!
Stay warm everyone! I’m in the Houston area and it’s been freezing most of the day! We aren’t used to being this cold!!!
