VENCER LA CULPA # 60 Part one

THE MAIN EVENT: JULIETA

Leandro takes charge of Julieta and he and Manuela take her to the hospital. Pablo follows along and the two men continue to snipe at each there. Leandro tells Pablo to go be with his "daughter" who needs someone to care for her. Julieta has a father. Manuela tells Leandro to cut his little macho routine. Pablo makes sure that Leandro knows that he is there to support Manuela and leaves. Manuela tells Leandro she feels like she will end up being blamed for what happened to Julieta. She feels like she has failed her trying to be a mother and a father. Leandro agrees with her that Juliet is very difficult to deal with. Leandro tries to take advantage of the situation and again he suggests that they get back together for "Julieta's sake." Manuela isn't going to discuss that one more time. The doctor tells them that Julieta's fever is down and she is being treated with analgesics and antibiotics. He adds that they need to know what she was injected with to be able to treat her correctly. Manuela and Leandro confront Julieta and tell her that they need to know what she had injected into her.

Julieta would rather sleep but Leandro isn't taking that as an answer. She eventually confesses to her mother that she went for a beauty treatment at the spa. Yes, she used the money she got from her father. Nobody knows that Leandro is listening at the door to what she is saying. Julieta did it because she doesn't like her body with it being as flat as it is. The woman who gave her the injection told her she would be fine. It was all "natural." Manuela lectures her on how there are people who take advantage of the young, uninformed and desperate. Some people have no scruples. Julieta apologizes. Mother and daughter end up reconciling. The doctor has found out what she was injected with because he tells Angeles that the injection was made up of herbs and chemicals. Julieta ended up with cutaneous and subcutaneous infections. She could have had grave consequences if she had not been treated time.

In the meantime., Leandro calls the government to report the spa and Susana the elder is confronted by representatives from the Protection from Health Risks Institute who inform her that the spa is being closed down. When she asks why??? Leandro is there to explain what happened to his daughter. Susana the elder has no idea what happened. She would never condone what Leandro said happened. The spa is being closed to do a proper investigation. Enrique and Amanda try to intercede on Susan the elder's behalf but Leandro doesn't want to hear it. Having knowledge of what happened to Julieta, Nacho's Desiree, aka the spa worker, is conveniently incommunicado. At the end of the episode, it looks like the hoodied creepy man, aka Chiro, has tracked Julieta down to the hospital and is about to open the door to her room.

VENCER Part two

DULCE

Paloma stops by to visit with Dulce. Vicky set up the meeting. Dulce appreciates Paloma coming to see her in light of just losing her novio/ex-novio. Paloma says she was so worried when Dulce disappeared like so many others. Dulce says she was also dying of fear. Paloma apologizes for those times when she knew that Dulce needed to talk to somebody but she was unable to listen to her. Dulce says she was under no obligation to do so. Paloma says it shouldn't be an obligation. Women always need to support each other. Paloma knows that Dulce went through a terrible time and admires her. She is very brave. Dulce hugs Paloma. Paloma gives Dulce the money she found in her hidden box and informs her that the box and its other contents went to the prosecutor. Dulce supposes that was the letter and the ring. Dulce explains that in the letter she was writing to the person she stopped being. Nora Pardo gave her the ring with the date when Dulce was born. Dulce says she never would have gotten here without Nora who was her guarantor and also her friend. Paloma asks about Genaro and Dulce smiles. She adds that is what hurt the most. Paloma asks if the relationship was toxic. Dulce answers no .Genaro was a lovely guy. The other guy was the one who treated her so badly. Paloma asks what other guy??? Dulce repeats that there are things that still hurt her. Dulce adds that she is leaving for a shelter tomorrow where she will be safer. Only Manuela will know where she is. Paloma asks if she would see Amanda who wants to see her. Dulce is not ready to see her yet thinking that she would lay a guilt trip on her for lying to her. Paloma tells her that Amanda did all that she could to get Leandro to help Genaro, Dulce is suddenly nervous. Vicky comes by to tell Dulce that her lunch arrived. Dulce leaves in a rush with no more than a "bye." to Paloma.

TAMARA/NICO

Tamara has left the kids with Amanda saying that she needs time to be alone and think. When Leandro finds out thatt his sister has left her her kids with Amanda, , he tells Amanda that he hopes that Nico doesn't find out because if he does, he could always say that Tamara abandoned her children and that could end with him getting custody of the kids.

Nico is getting into his car in a parking garage when a man approaches his car and with a hammer and proceeds to break the back window on the passenger side. Nico islet wondering what just happened.

VENCER Part three

YANELI

Genaro continues beating up Edgardo. Male faculty separate the men. Genaro insists that Edgardo messed up Yaneli's life. Edgardo says that she idd it to herself throwing herself at mean being the slut that she is. Genaro goes after Edgardo again. Yaneli stops him. She tells Genaro that at this school they would rather protect their male teachers rather than their female students. The patriarchy protects people like Edgardo. The school administrator tells them to leave and he will not file charges against them. Edgardo cannot believe he isn't filing charges. The administrator tells him to file his own charges. He is in his right to do so.Yaneli calls him a coward who will never file any charges. She asks Genaro why men always revert to violence to settle things. Yaneli introduces Axel to Genaro. Genaro is not impressed and says that he and Axel are going to have a little talk. Yaneli is upset with Genaro again and tells him to stop being a little macho. She mentions again that jail has changed her brother. Edgardo limps one ro tell Genaro that Axel is his nephew. Genaro starts to lose it again when Edgardo adds that Yaneli is working her way through the men in his family. Genaro goes to punch him again but Yaneli and Axel separate them.

Axel gives Yaneli Edgardo's phone with the compromising photos. They agree that they need to find other victims to file charges against Edgardo ASAP like before he knows his old phone is missing. She finds out that one victim Erika actually committed suicide after having been sexually harassed by Edgardo. She tries to use that info to convince two other victims, who are reluctant to accuse Edgardo, to step forward with her and file charges against him. She asks the other victims if they are going to remain quiet as if nothing has happened.

PALOMA/FRANCO

Paloma tells Franco that she loves him unconditionally but they have several issues that must be decided before she is willing to commit to a serious relationship with him. One of those issue is whether he wants children or not. He had not considered that since he came down with HIV.

Paloma and Franco run into his parents. Franco's father seems friendly enough but his mother not so much.

Franco meets with Pablo who is interested in his proposal. Pablo warns him that other proposals are going to be considered. Franco is confident that Pablo is going to pick his project to support.

PABLO/CARMINA

Pablo and Carmina are arguing again. She does not want Pablito to see his "sister." She doewn't want him influenced by that monstrosity. She does not understand how you can go to bed as a man and wake up as a woman. It is not natural. They have no idea that Pablito has overheard this conversation. Also, she is planning on taking Pablito and move back to Guadalajara. She never should have left there in the first place and shod have stayed far away from Damián. Pablo warns her that if she does move with Pablito, he will sue her for custody. She reminds him that mothers are always favored in custody issues. Pablo doesn't think she would be favored when the judge became aware of the fact that she, Nancy and her family had stolen money from his company. He doesn't think the judge will choose a thief to raise a little boy. Carmina starts to cry Wah!!!!! She calls Pablo a miserable person. Wah!!!!

That is it for me.

"MINAS" EPISODE#100:

Weirdo: Looking forward to seeing your recap of last night's episode.

Gigi embracing her inner cougar. Had no idea she was making out with the Youngin LOL.

Jenny moves out of Orlando's house & shows up at Gigi's including we see Gael, Marijo & the Annoying Cayetana there too.

Vencer

Thanks Jarifa, i enjoyed reading the events I saw last night. It’s informative and gives me more to think about.

Dulce got nervous when Leandro was mentioned. Something like that happened the other night when Manuela mentioned Amanda visiting. I’m feeling more strongly that Leandro is involved, just not sure how!

I actually felt sorry for Susana. She was unaware of what was going on. She should have done a background check on Desiree. Hopefully Julieta will now become a nicer teenager. Although it looks like something is going to happen tonight. Not sure how people in telenovelas are able to hurt, or even kill patients!

I enjoyed Paloma and Franco last night. We saw the clutzy girl from the beginning. And I had to laugh at her mile a minute talking when she met his parents. I wish her luck with them!

I’ll be glad when Edgardo is proven guilty and Yaneli gets her scholarship back.

How did Pablo live with Carmina for years, and choose her over his own child!

Liz

VENCER

Liz, you are right. There is so much to consider with this novela right now. Thanks for reminding us how Dulce got nervous before when Amanda was mentioned, I also think Leandro is behind this all but have no idea how either. As for Pablo, I agree you cannot say much about his taste or decision making. He is a little too flawed. It looked like the hoodied man opening the door at the end. Will it be him or some body else. Can’t wait for tonight!

VIDA Ep. 9

Paula and Pepe both make excuses for the passionate kiss, denying to Suzy and Tea that it was not a kiss.

Isabel asks Lorenzo to return the properties to her family; she will do anything if he does. When he asks if Rafa is his son, she denies it, but he doesn't't believe her and tells her that he will find out on his own.

Paula returns the repelling equipment to MAL-ena (thank you, Doris) and warns that MALena better make sure that her equipment is safe or her attorney will do so.

Alex sees the video and goes to tell MALena that she better "fix" things because Lorenzo is claiming all the properties, including MALena's business.

Suzy is sad because she misses her daddy; she wants a daddy that is alive and will spend time with her. She talks Paula into inviting Rolando to dinner.

Natalia tells Rol to ask Paula to marry him; he needs to convince Paula that he would be the ideal father for those brats. Rolando argues that he will not put his chances to win over Paula by rushing into a marriage proposal.

Paula shares with Lorenzo that Suzy wants her to marry Rol. Lorenzo points out hat Rolando has been by her side in all these years. Paula adits that she feels tranquil in knowing that Rolando will be there for her children when she is no longer there. Paula insists that her love ended when German died. Lorenzo asks if she has never been interested in anyone in the past 7 years.

Rafa finds out that Pepe is going to go have drinks with Gracia who wants to talk to him, so he insists in joining them.

Lorenzo continues to insist that Paula marry Rolando because her children need a father and she also needs a companion.

Diego refuses to greet Rol (hmmmm, did I miss something?) Paula asks to talk to Rol privately.

Part-time with Gracia, Rafa and Pepe. Rafa gets drunk as a skunk and cries because Pepe told him he loves him and his brother doesn't deserve what he did to him. He feels like sum for deceiving his bro. He tells Pepe the he knows who Malena is cheating on him with.

Paula tells Rol that she has been thinking about her children and their future. She worries what will happen when she s no longer there. She knows Rolando has been good for her children..she asks if he would marry her!! ARGHHH!!

Vida
Thanks, Rgvchick.
Why is Lorenzo so insistant Paula should marry Rolando? It almost feels as if he wants to make sure someone else is responsible for his grandkids. I couldn't believe it when Paula said in one of the episodes she doesn't know if her father would stay tolook after them because he might get interested in something and leave or something along those lines. So he wasn't around when her husband died and wouldn't look after his grandchildren? That's very disappointing that Paula actually doesn't have anyone she can fully trust. Rolando has other motives and Natalia is plain awful. Paula doesn't know how alone she really is. And why does Lorenzo think Rolando wouldn't marry again after Paula dies? His arguments pro-marriage were weird. There's nothing stopping him from marrying again and sending Suzy off to a boarding school or something. I suppose he thinks once they are married, oRolando will feel obligated to look after Suzy. But he is a family friend and only that. I can't remember if he knows Rolando is 'in love' with Paula and if he had proposed this regardless. If so, that's a lot to ask.
Emiliano is pretty spineless if he fancies Lucia and can't break up with Renata. Or is this 'oh I don't know what I feel.' He annoys me more than Diego with his 'get a girlfriend' talk and his reluctance to act. He won't dump Renata, but he won't tell his mother he is going on a trip with her either. And he thinks he can give advice on girls to someone? When he only managed to get himself a toxic one?
Malena again managed to amuse me with her stupid sentences' you knewhow strong the chemistry is between us, you shouldn't have come'. A moment ago she was complaining how Lucia doesn't let her breathe and had just 'ruined a moment' for them. This might be a telenovela, but I still would like to know what Malen'as motivation for keeping Pepe is. If they got divorced, he could keep the kids. I don't get why she says there's no way she'd raise Teo alone when she has the option tolet him live with Pepe. Unless she somehow worries about her reputation if she left the kids to her husband. But it's not like it isn't obvious she doesn't look after them so I don't get her. And why does Alex think that if Paula and Pepe didn't get involved, this would mean Lorenzo would just let him keep the land? Paula leaving doesn't mean Lorenzo would leave them be.

VENCER

Oh Jarifa, what an exceptional recap!! You captured the dialogue and the emotions perfectly. Thank you so, so much!

"Paloma asks about Genaro and Dulce smiles. She adds that is what hurt the most. Paloma asks if the relationship was toxic. Dulce answers no .Genaro was a lovely guy explains so much. My heart broke a bit for Dulce last night, her face mirroring a myriad of emotions including fear, hurt, desperation and even love. Jesusa Ochoa's portrayal is haunting; her performance has been flawless.

Liz, I'm also wondering how Leandro fits into Dulce's story. He has tainted it, of that I'm sure.

I'm so proud of Yaneli for fighting tooth and nail to bring Edgardo to justice! I can't wait until he is behind bars for good. I had no problem with Genaro going after him and actually wish he'd beaten him to a pulp. :)

Carmina is now trying to ruin Pablo's other child's life, medically and psychologically. Pablo needs to file for SOLE custody. Immediately. Thank heavens he has proof of her thievery.

So has Julieta learned her lesson or indeed any lesson?? She is a smart (and smart mouthed) young woman and her continued correspondence with Chiro is disappointing. I wonder if it is he that is at her hospital door? Usually, we have seen or at least had some introduction to a main villain, right? (Leandro for instance). But he is coming out of the dark, which perhaps is even more frightening.

"As for Pablo, I agree you cannot say much about his taste or decision making. He is a little too flawed" was perfect Jarifa. That said it all.

VIDA

Rgv Chick, a marvelous summary - thank you!

You revealed so much that flew completely over my head and did it in very fine fashion. I must have dozed off the last few minutes as I had no idea Paula actually proposed to Rol! OMG.

Like you Waterlily, I was completely perplexed at Lor pushing for a Paula/Rol union as well as why Alex is pushing MALena to stay with Pepe? She is a serial cheater, what is his motivation to have his son stay with anyone who would treat him so shabbily??

"Diego refuses to greet Rol (hmmmm, did I miss something?)". Rgv Chick, I think dour Diego knows exactly what the deal is with Rol. Everytime Rol has appeared Diego has given him the evil eye. Well, even more of an evil eye than he gives to just about everyone! 😊

Do we know how long Lorenzo was away from Paula and her children? Was he gone for a long stretch or has he popped in and out as suits him?

I can't wait to see who Rafa names as having an affair with Pepe!

Diana

Vida

Thanks Rgv Chich, that was a great read. There’s a lot that doesn’t make sense to me.

If the land transaction was 40 years ago why is Alex just realizing what he gave to Lorenzo?

I was so mad at Paula when she proposed to Rolando. Of course he accepts! I’m under the impression he and Natalia had shared the bed they were having their discussion on. So has he really loved Paula all these years or just wanted what he couldn’t have! Why would you do something because your young child and your absentee dad want it. I hope the wedding doesn’t happen.

I wonder what Malena plans to burn with the extra gas. She’s really dangerous. And why does she want Pepe back? She’s very attracted to Rafa.

Rafa went along with Pepe and Gracia because he was afraid she was going to tell all. Now it looks like he’s ready to tell. I guess you shouldn’t drink if you have a deep dark secret.

Liz

VIDA

Thank you, Waterlily, Diana and Liz!

Waterlily, I’m not sure what motivates Lorenzo to insist on Paula marrying Rol. In his “argument” he told Paula that Rol may not keep his promise to German (to take care of his family), Rol may get tired of the kids after dealing with them, but if Paula married Rol, then Rol would be more obligated to stay and raise the kids.

Diana, I’m not sure how long Lorenzo stayed away from the family, it seems to be several years. He told Paula that while he wasn’t there for her when German died and during other difficult times, Rol has always been there for her.

Liz, I don’t even want to think about what MALena will do with the extra gasoline. ITA that she is very dangerous.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 100 - Jueves, 25 de enero, 2024

Día de los Muertos, with some secrets revealed - Part 1/2

Lots of unsatisfying action in this episode.

Leo hits Ezequiel a couple of time to save Emilia while mumbling about Roberta not liking the situation.

Jenny comes to see Sara, with the masked Dan present. She senses something's wrong, but Sara doesn't tell her anything. Later, she (Sara) seems to agree to leave with Romy and Dan!

The police secretary (?) is chatting with Joaquina, who wants her help against Roberta. The gal, whose name is Cata, I think, declines because she's scared of Roberta. IIRC Joaquina saying something about having consequences either way.

Orlando yells at Flor about the drugs. She claims Fidel and Addled forced her to sell them. He, calmer, asks her if she wants to help him take them down. Flor agrees and they seal their deal with a hug. Unfortunately for them, Jenny walks in and not knowing what transpired, misunderstands the hug. She screams at Orlando and leaves.

Manuel kisses Gigí. She says she's not sure about a relationship yada yada.

The other cops get in the house Emi and Leo were in because Ezequiel hasn't gotten out. They see him gagged and tied and he quickly tells them what happened.

Dan and the other, REAL, police officer escort Sara and Romina to the police car. Dan claims they have to take them to the election event, but the other cop says they don't have orders to do that. Dan distracts him and hits him on the head. He then drives off with Sara and Romy.

There's a cringe scene with Cayetana telling Tigre he can call her daughter in law, yikes! Marijó walks in and asks for help regarding Joaquina. Tigre says no way, she killed Ignacio (gosh, are people SO naïve in this town?!) but Marijó replies that the truth hasn't yet been revealed or something like that and says Joaquí and Roberta are sister! All are shocked.

Later, Tigre tries to walk.

Marat is searching for documents that will take down Roberta. Aleida gets a call from Emi IIRC. Al puts her on speaker. She informs them about Ezequiel and having to hide.

Emilia, Nico and Leo are hiding somewhere. Leo isn't in this scene, but Zaira is. Nico asks Zaira if the dead can get reincarnated (I guess he's thinking Emi got reincarnated into Victoria's body?) Zaira avoids the question. Emi comes and decides to tell him the truth, she's his mother, she's Emilia! Zaira confirms and they hug.

Roberta is ready to go to the election event with Fidel when she gets a call from Ezequiel, informing her Emi and Leo have escaped. She's not a happy camper.

Marat has found some documents! At the same time, Dan enters with Sara. Sara says Roberta knows about Victoria being Emilia. Aleida reveals herself as Orlando's mother, leaving everyone in shock. Oh and stupid Míriam came to whine about Addled. Usual Míriam.

Leo comes and he, Emi and Nico hug tightly. Zaira offers to distract the cops so they leave.

Jenny has a big fight with Orlando. I'm pretty sure she breaks up with him and leaves.

Sara is nowhere to be seen in the election event. Roberta and Fidel are starting to get anxious. When they go somewhere private, they start to blame different people, with Victoria/Emilia being mentioned by Roberta. Addled comes in and (stupidly) says Sara might have been kidnapped.

Ramiro stands up to Patricio. I see Ramiro's life span decreasing...

Sara wants to GO TO THE EVENT because she has CHANGED HER MIND about leaving!!! Sara blames Roberta's evilness and willingness to hurt others, I blame Sara's empty head. She then gets a text message by Roberta, threatening her to go to the event or Jenny will get hurt.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 100 - Jueves, 25 de enero, 2024

Día de los Muertos, with some secrets revealed - Part 2/2

Things are looking tough in the event. Roberta has decided that the average IQ of the San Lorenzo people is about the same as Addled's (so 0) and says Sara has been kidnapped!!

Marat and Aleida go to Aleida the restaurant. They want to talk to Orlando (Flor asks them how he is) and Fidel pops up. Marat says he would like to talk to speak to Orlando while Fidel is eyeing Aleida suspiciously. After some tense moments, Aleida actually says she's here to save her son from this drug business!!! She leaves with Marat.

Jenny tells her mom about the breakup with Orlando. Marijó and other ask Gigí for help, it's a life or death issue.

Ramiro asks Tigre for help, the miners need him. He reveals he was the one who detonated the explosives in the mine explosion which left Tigre in a wheelchair. He begs for forgiveness, but Tigre violently grabs him and starts choking him. Ram falls to the floor and somehow manages to get up, asking for help once again and leaves.

Aleida comforts Orlando. He remembers a scene from his childhood, in which his mother comforted him in exactly the same way and calls Aleida "mom"!! Aleida is shocked.

Sebas calls Tigre and informs him about Emilia and Leo being in danger. He's out and looking for them, usual Sebas :) Tigre manages to get up and walk! He grabs a GUN and slowly walks out of the house.

Fidel tells Roberta he feels like all the dead are coming back to life. Addled comes up to them and says he doesn't have any new info on Sara. At this moment, Sara walks in. Addled tells Sara that Fidel and Roberta threatened him. Sara does what she does best; lies to the press.

Zaira attempts to distract the cops, but falls down, hits her head and is now unconscious. Only I could have been so clumsy!

In the last scene of the episode, Ezequiel unfortunately finds the hideout of Emilia and Leonardo. He, pointing a gun in their faces, says that this time he won't let them get away.

And with that tense moment, we have the Fin del Capítulo...

VIDA -- #9

Thank you RgvChick, for your mini-recap.

"Lorenzo asks if she has never been interested in anyone in the past 7 years."
Well, Viewerville certainly saw her thoughts of Pepe right after she said no.

waterlily - good points you made, on everything.

Liz - "If the land transaction was 40 years ago why is Alex just realizing what he gave to Lorenzo?"
- - - Out of sight, out of mind. It wasn't a problem until Paula came back and parked her food truck across the way from their restaurant. IOW, they're back in town and staking their claim, so now Alex is worried.

MALena is probably thinking about torching the food truck, or Paula's house. Arson is a favorite plot device in telenovelaland.

That whole scene Renata made before she blocked Lucia on Emiliano's phone (because he refused to do so) was scary bizarre. I hope Paula's family does not have a pet bunny rabbit. Or a soup pot. That girl is BSC.

Apparently Lorenzo doesn't stay anywhere for long. It's a shame that he won't even offer to look after Paula's children after she dies.

If Paula ends up married Rolo, and I doubt that because it is obvio that Pepe is endgame, there is no doubt he would ship the kids off to a boarding school after she is gone. Will Diego and Emiliano accept him?

Natalia thinks Rolo will be hers in the long run. What she really ought to think about is her boobage exploding out of that seduction bra. Hussy.

Minas

More tomorrow, but I just wanted to add my thoughts about the Sara issue and something Emilia said.

I honestly wonder where the writers are going with this. They can't have Sara leave with Dan, because then Leo won't be able to see Romy and that wouldn't be fitting for a Gran Final. Having her stay in the town but with Dan sounds awkward and would have been too good for her. So I think they're going to kill her off. It's the only way the whole plot line will make sense.

And last but not least, QTH was that scene with Emi telling Zaira to get back together with Tigre because he loves her. Really, Emilia? You got back together with LEONARDO, you're not exactly the right person to give relationship advice!!!

VIDA

Doris, thank you for all the juicy tidbits...

"What she really ought to think about is her boobage exploding out of that seduction bra. Hussy" had me laughing out loud.

And yes, let's hope there are no boiling bunnies in this TN's future...

Diego will never accept Rolo...

I don't think Lorenzo would give up the wanderlust to stay put and raise the children. More's the pity.

Diana

Minas
Thanks, weirdo. I thought I had already resigned myself to the fact that Emilia's taste in men is awful. But I cannot take all her scenes with Leo. It feels like a punishment I didn't deserve.
And lol at your comment about Emilia not being the one to give relationship advice. She also said something about 'not letting your pride win over love'. I'm sorry, but when a man puts no ffort into making things work, it's no longer a matter of pride, but of self-respect. I hate how they push this idea of woman having to be a doormat in order to be 'good'. I'm watching another telenovela now where a man is mad because he thinks she's involved with another man even though they are separated and he himself is convinced he slept with his employee. I bet those two will get back together. Women somehow havve to be saints and angels whereas men get to be spineless, useless and even cruel and still they marry the woman who somehow tolerated all their nonsense. I wonder what exactly the writers mean with all this. I used to think they were into the whole concept of a woman being morally superior to a man and stronger, but I'm starting to think their choices reflect reality way too much.
I had the same thought about Sara because of that whole goodbye she said to Dan.
Miriam made me want to laugh. She comes to the scene and it's as if she expects them all to calm her down the way Sebas always does. I cannot believe she will get the happy ending. She knew exactly what she was doing and kept doing it. She wanted an easy life but never really had to pay for her lack of integrity because Sebas was there to bale her out every.single. time. I cannot believe she is luckier than la protagonista.
I only hope Sebas doesn't die. I can't believe that it's all I can hope for. Doesthe actor playing Sebas sing professionally?
I wonder what they are going to do with Orlando. He will have to turn his father in if he wants to avoid problems. Flor can say goodbye to her mother I imagine. Ramiro can say the same to his kids.Even after Orlando found out the truth, Flor still told Fidel what Aleida asked her. I wonder what Flor is planning. There's no way she'd be able tohelp her mother even in the best case scenario, which means ending up in jail.

MINAS

Weirdo, this was fantastic; loved your title.

“Sara wants to GO TO THE EVENT because she has CHANGED HER MIND about leaving!!! Sara blames Roberta's evilness and willingness to hurt others, I blame Sara's empty head” had me smiling away, what a wonderful line.

I thought the most interesting developments (Aleida/Orlando) were relegated to the background due to the ongoing and never-ending Leo/Emilia saga.

I understood Aleida was on a tirade but hadn’t understand she said, “she’s here to save her son from this drug business.” No wonder Fidel started screaming “Aleida” as she walked away! She has been so careful! And now? I am so afraid he is going to have her dragged back to the manicomio! I love Dan but he has troubles of his own as does our galan of choice Sebas. Who is going to protect her? I vote Marat…

“Aleida comforts Orlando. He remembers a scene from his childhood, in which his mother comforted him in exactly the same way and calls Aleida "mom"!! Aleida is shocked” was exactly right. Shell shocked. And sadly speechless. The writers MUST continue this scene, I am dying to know how she answers. She told Fidel the truth, she must tell Orlando.

Weirdo, I thought Danilo was going to be the one to die; now, I’m not certain. It might be Sara??

Tigre has a gun. And is he ever angry!!

Leo and Emilia are still romance lite. They are going through the motions but I don't see sense any grand passion.

Diana

Minas

Thanks Weirdo, that was a great recap. This is one of those telenovelas where the good guys seem to be outnumbered and are fighting a losing battle.

Tigre has been in a wheel chair for over 4 years, but gets up and walks. No PT for him! I guess he’ll be the one to save the day! Or at least Emilia and family.

At Aleida was leaving the restaurant Fidel called her name, does he know for sure or just suspect?

I’m also trying to work out the logistics of Sara’s daughter. She can’t be in both families. But she has two dads. I don’t want Danilo to die but don’t see what else the writers can do with Sara and him.

Is Addled ever going to try and protect and defend his family. I don’t think so.

My comment to wirdo has vanished! Diana, could you let Rgvchick know? I don't like the way this telenovela is going, but the website doesn't like my comments either...

MINAS

Waterlily, I let Rgv Chick know. I'm sure she will retrieve it as soon as she can.

I am smiling as I don't like the way this is going either!!

MINAS

Liz, our comments crossed.

Because Weirdo noted Aleida actually said "my son" (which I hadn't understood), I do think Fidel knew it was her. He was highly suspicious before and her commewnt likely cemented it.

Minas

Weirdo, thank you for an excellent account as we finally seem to be getting some forward motion .

I dont think Ezkiel is going to survive because he seems to adore being La Patrona's minion. I still think he looks like Jimmy Kimmel, so I always kind of snicker even be comes on the scene threatening somebody.

Wow....Rob now has the cops in SWAT gear....and surprise...Danilo has managed to get all that gear and spirits Sara and Romina away. But wait ....Sara has second thoughts about leaving when Rob sends her a text threatening her sister and mother?

Gigi is headed for a HEA with her May romance Manuelito . wow...Go, Gigi.

It appears Zaire will return to the now walking, guntoting Tigre which leaves Marat for Aleida. Yay,... she deserves a HEA with a silver fox. I love Karyme.

I notice that Sebas hasn't forgotten being bashed on the head and accordingly rubbed the back of his head from time to time.

I think the writers are going to redeem Miriam and grant her the grand prize ...sweet, loyal, protective , proactive Sebas . Why else did they decide that she should be the one to bandage up battered Dan and then have her buzzing around to babysit Romina while Mommy told Daddy , " Thanks for the rescue ...but I am going back to hell."

Leo and Em.....meh.

I think the actors Sebas and Dan are both using this show to audition for a role as a galan just as Daniel Embittar used his role in " Invencible" to show his galan qualities . Susan

VENCER

Diana, thanks. There was too much good dialogue to skim over last night. : ) I have my doubts about Julieta having learned her lesson, too. It seems like her brush with death might be too easy for her to get over at this point considering how sneaky and defiant she has been. Is she mature enough to really understand the risk she was in? Can she resist Chiro’s siren call?

Vencer

Jarifa, you amaze me as you turn out these excellent recaps never missing an important detail .

Wow...this show is all about children taking advantage of parents and parents taking advantage of children . The family relationships in this show are disheartening.

I still feel that Leondro will be revealed as the heart of all this darkness .

Julieta looked so small, young, and vulnerable in that hospital bed . I hope young girls watching this show will get the PSAs that are being presented . The world has become a scary place for young people.

I wonder if the romance between Genero and Dulce will resume at the end . Susan

VENCER

Thanks, Susan. I am having a good time covering this novela and being able to watch it with everyone else. Interesting comment about Genaro and Dulce. I never thought about them getting back together but she seems still taken with him and he never gave up her secret . They seem to have tried to protect each other from whoever the evil puppeteer is.

Super recap, Jarifa. Last night's epi had no filler. Every scene seemed crucial and you detailed all of it. Thanks a bunch.

I'm wondering if Dulce and Genaro will be friends after all they've been through.

When Yaneli was with the other girls discussing challenging Edgardo, Genaro eavesdropped and looked proud of his sister. Maybe his wheels were turning and putting pieces together? Maybe not.

I don't like Nico, but I hope there's no hit on him. He's so silly, I can't hate him.

Thanks, Niecie. "I don't like Nico, but I hope there's no hit on him. He's so silly, I can't hate him." Especially with that bad wig. You think they could have found him something better.🤔

VIDA #10

Notes by memory from the armchair ... not even a mini-mini-recaplet. ;-)

MALena really did try to torch the food truck! Fortunately Marcos saw her and scared her off before she could light a match. I was hoping she got some gasoline on herself and would have gone up in flames.

Pepe got a phone call from Paula, to see if he answers, which she thinks if he did then it wasn't him who torched the truck. He didn't answer because he wanted to hear who Rafa named as the guy his wife was sleeping with. Welp, confession interruptus gave Gracia time to convince Rafa to stay mum.

Another Alex & Isabella convo --- blah blah blah, same old, same old.

Isabella is getting on my nerves. EVERY time Alex asks her if she loves him, her answers deflect. She should go into politics. She never says "Te amo." Nope. It's always --- you are the best guy for me, etc.

As expected, Diego was not a happy camper about Rolando becoming more involved in Paula's life and theirs.

That's all I can remember....I was doing laundry at the same time. ;-)

VIDA

Doris, thank you for your wonderful notes.

"confession interruptus" was great. 😊

Rolando definitely has anger issues. Determined to catch whomever was responsible for the attempted arson, he was driving like a possessed madman. Paula was frightened; his face was contorted with fury. I was surprised he eventually pulled over.

Isabella doesn't love Alex; she cares deeply but her heart is clearly elsewhere.

I loved the huge silvery moon and Pepe and Paula lying down on the grass (miled apart) staring at the stars.

Yes, Diego was livid at his mother's news. Not an auspicious beginning.

Diana

Vida

Doris, thanks for the recap. I , too, am usually doing something besides just sitting and watching , like making a big pot of chili or folding laundry or answering texts.

It looks like Diego knows or senses something about Roly . Will we ever see him without the bucket hat?

I agree that Isabella never tells her husband that she loves him . Do people really stay in long marriages when there isn't true and complete love ?

I keep thinking that poor Paula has limited time, but instead for living happily and peacefully in the time she has left, she has to deal with a BSC jealous woman and a suitor and gal pal who just want her money. No wonder she enjoys being in the company of smiling , easygoing Pepe. I felt bad for Paula lying in bed rubbing her temples Not feeling well with Roly hovering there. He may turn into her biggest headache .

Diana, I liked the scene of Paula and Pepe gazing at the sky. I thought about going out to see the Wolf full moon , but it was so cold !!!

I smiled at Juan Soler getting on his bike....badass Santa mode with the scarf and leather jacket. Where is he going? Doesn't he want to spend his daughter's last days with her? Is he supposed to be a good guy or a bad guy? I do not understand that whole thing about the property and Isabella and Alex. Where has Lorenzo been all these years ?

I have never seen Laura Flores in a role like this one. Funny she was out drinking with her nephews. Drunk as a skunk Rafa blubbering in his brother's unsuspecting arms like an unsteady bear gave me a giggle. I wonder if the two actors are having fun with these drunk , hugging scenes.

What is Marcos's job besides comic relief in this show ? Susan

VIDA

Thank you, Doris!!

Isabela is getting on my nerves too, but we did get a bit more history. Isabela was surprised to find out that Alex knew that Lorenzo wanted her to go away with him. That night (after Isabela drove away from Lorenzo), Lorenzo showed up at their house looking for Isabela. After Alex convinced him that Isabela was not there, Lorenzo told Alex everything about their relationship and that is when Alex talked Lorenzo into going for a few drinks and they made the deal. back in the present, Alex pleads with Isabela to be sincere and tell him if she still feels something for Lorenzo, but she denies, denies, deflects…

Rol thinks that Paula has changed her mind about wanting to marry him, but she only had second thoughts because she should have talked to her children about it first. Rol quickly acts and tells he the accepts her proposal but he wants her to actually try to see him as more than a business deal…KISSS!! Paula is shocked, she had no idea how he felt about her. He convinces her to give it a try by asking if she wants her children to think they are marrying for love or his out of convenience.

So what was with Rafa wearing his beanie over his eyes??? LOL

Andrea teases Rafa and suggests he pursue Paula. Alex forbids Pepe from have anything to do with Paula. Isabela almost slips when she tells Rafa that he can’t have any relations with Paula! Rafa wonders why she didn’t have a problem when it was suggests that Pepe be interested in Paula.

Isabela damns the day Lorenzo returned…he needs to leave and never return! Gracia tries to calm her down.

Lorenzo is surprised to hear that Paula asked Rol to marry her, but doesn’t have a problem with it. He takes off on his bike to go to Mexico City (probably to get the results of the DNA tests).

Paula tells MAL that they should make peace; she is not going to sue her. (this was as per Pepe’s request in the previous episode where they also made a deal that Paula can park her food truck on their property until the end of the month).

Nice slap from Paula afte Mal tells her that she wishes she would have died in the rappelling accident.

vida
Thanks, Doris.
I know people who didn't marry out of love but stayed together. And also know people who did love each other but it turned into staying together out of habit and convenience and who also wanted to look for affection elsewhere. I think that's why I started seeing telenovela kind of love as something that doesn't exist. I sure hope I'm wrong. But Isabela's suiters aren't exactly great. Her husband went on and on about how he loved her and yet he did leave all these years ago to pursue his dream. He returned, but I sense some kind of desperate need to 'claim what's his' behind that whole deal. Apparently Isabela did change her mind about running away with Lorenzo, but deep down Alex must think she wanted to. Lorenzo came to look for her at their maritlal home but shewent to stay with her parents. Lorenzo told Alex the whole story and that was when Alex took him to a canteen and offered him the land. If Lorenzo ever loved Isabela, I doubt he does now because then he would let her have the land. He said something along the lines of 'I'll think about it once I know if Rafa is mine' or something. Maybe Alex' insistance his kids shouldn't go anywhere near that family is because he fears this would mean Lorenzogot back into their lives. Fourty years and the man is still insecure. He really should have stayed in Italy. I hate how he brings up his return as some kind of great sacrifice, as a 'look what I was ready to do for you' gesture. It almost feels as if he thinks Issabela is forever in his debt somehow because in the same conversation heasks her if she has loved him during all these years
It was funny to hear Rafa say that if his brother doesn't want her, he'll go after Paula. I wonder where he got his self-esteem issues because when his mother immediately said no, he thought it was because she doesn't think a woman like Paula would be interested in him.
Diego said Rolando is a hypocrite. He definitely knows something and it must go beyond suspicions.
Lorenzo somehow didn't look too happy about Paula's engagement. Why? He himself proposed it, even saying at their age you look for a companion and not forthe kind of love that makes your heart beat faster.
If Alex still thinks it's a good idea to have Malena as an ally, he is either stupid or doesn't care enough about his son to want to see the truth. The woman is dangerous. He'll rue the day he agreed to be on her side, though.
Paula honestly thinks it's her business to find her son a girlfriend? Sheadmitted she has no idea if he likes anyone and that he doesn't tell her about what's hapening to him. She seems to have as much sense as her teenage son because she said Diego is at an age where the boys start dating and so needs a girlfriend. A far bigger problem is that she doesn't know her child. How is she planning to find a girlfriend for someone whom she doesn't know? I found that item in the list and her reasons for it irritating and silly. I know it's a telenovela but still.

Vida\OT....Dear waterlily, true ,forever love does exist.

Vida
I know Rolando is a bad guy, but I find her request somehow a bit too much. Raising kids is a huge responsibility even if you like the ones you get to raise. I can understand her, but I wouldn't want to be in Rolando's position.
Her father somehow isn't asked to help because he might run off or something. This is just crazy.
Emiliano is a coward. He approaches Lucia when he already has a girlfriend. Diego might be rude and so on, but he was completely honest. And Emiliano thinks he is the one to give advice about girls? Seriously? I hope Lucia tells him no getting to know each other when you ahve a novia who threatened me. Otherwise she'd come across as not only unwilling to get into conflict, which I can understand, but as someone who doesn't respect herself enough to demand Emiliano do things right. He now ruined this name for me because I liked it!
I'm surprised some of you can watch and do something else at the same time. I have to concentrate on what they say in order not to miss stuff. I'd have no idea what's going on otherwise.

VIDA #10

"So what was with Rafa wearing his beanie over his eyes?"
He was too hungover (tequila! so many good C&W songs about it!), it's daylight, and he didn't have dark sunglasses. LOL

"Raising kids is a huge responsibility even if you like the ones you get to raise."
waterlily - thank you for my LOL of the day. True on both counts.

Why did Alex come home from Italy? Homesick? Band was not a success over there? I have questions.

And if he thinks Rafa is his, Isabela must have switched horses quickly, but far enough apart to know Rafa is Lorenzo's. Hmmmmm..... the girl got around.

VIDA

Rgv Chick, thank you for all that you provided, and so well, as always.

I'm missing much of what transpires so especially appreciate all the background you gave us on Isabela and Alex. I missed/didn't understand the conversation about Rafa and Paula either.

I might be mistaken but I thought Rolando grabbed Paula and told her loved her...she actually looked alarmed so obviously has had no idea he's been in love with her all these years. Clueless about her children and now, clueless about this. Hmmm

VENCER LA CULPA #61 Part One

JULIETA

The hoodied man sneaks in and out of Julieta's room while Manuela is otherwise occupied. While in the room, he takes photos of Julieta.

Pablo agrees to come back tomorrow to the hospital when Julieta is being released. He and Manuela "Te amo" each other and kiss in Julieta's room.

Then next day, Pablo and Manuela pick up Julieta from the hospital. Manuela tells her no social networks as punishment. Julieta complains. Pablo tells her she will be a real hit with her fans when she finally does reappear. She likes that idea. A hidden and clearly jealous Leandro watches them and has a hard time not confronting them. The "un-hoodied" hoodied man is also watching them.

Manuela and Pablo bring Julieta home. Julieta is happy to be home and insists that she learned her lesson.

Leandro plays the "sad sack" and calls Julieta on the phone about how disappointed he was that he didn't get to take her home when she was discharged from the hospital. Instead, she had gone with her new father. A whiny Julieta tells him Pablo is not her new father. Leandro continues saying it really hurt him that Julieta didn't let him know that she was out the hospital. Julieta says she never wanted to make him feels bad and apologizes. He cuts the conversation short and says they will talk later. He tells his l"ittle dolly" that he misses and loves her.

Manuela takes Julieta's phone as her punishment. Julieta will have plenty of time to spend with her family.

Julieta is back at school and the first thing she does is borrow Susana the younger's cellphone to show her what Chiro looks like and to conveniently check in to see if he has left her any messages. He has: "I went see you and YUK!!! You disappointed me."

Nobody beloved her at school, at home or at the prosecutor's office. her daughter wold alive if somebody would have listened to her in her depression. Yaneli agrees she would be alive but she ran into the machos who in this patriarchal system prefer to protect the perpetrators rather than the victims. Yaneli says that right here there have been five cases involving Edgardo that they know of. The women refuse to be silenced. They will not be leaving his office until the Ministerio Público DOES THEIR JOB and files charges against Edgardo Zúniga. Afterwards, Vicky tells everyone that she is gong to make sure that Edgardo doesn't get off. Yaneli wants them all to make videos denouncing Edgardo like she did.

VENCER Part Three

PALOMA AND FRANCO

Franco's parents are classist and prejudiced and make no bones about it. Franco invites his parents back to his place but it is on the fifth floor with no elevator. His mom cannot do stairs. (I wonder if she just "doesn't do" stairs??) His father doesn't know why he moved into place without an elevator. He should have thought of his other!!! Paloma invites them to her place. There is an elevator in her building. Franco's mother isn't too sure about the neighborhood (El Peñón de la Esperanza) where she lives. It is dangerous. Franco says Paloma is successful at her job . She bought her own place. Paloma adds she is also very successful in love. Seeing the two lovebirds, Franco's other is so happy to see them together because for awhile he thought that Franco might be a homosexual.

Franco calls his parents on their prejudice. So what if he were gay?? His mother says because then he couldn't give them grandchildren and his father adds that they want to be grandparents. (PUSHY parents) Paloma assure him that their sons not gay but if he were there are still ways for him to give them grandchildren. Have they never heard of same-sex parent families? Franco's mother does not consider them families. Franco disagrees and adds there are many ways to have children. Paloma says her parents are also dying to be grandparents. Franco's mother is interested in what her agents do for a living, what their last name is and what schools they attended. Franco tells her not to answer. She says she is Paloma Gallardo River. Franco's father thinks that's must be from the Gallardo Rivera family that have lived forever in Valencia, Spain. Paloma laughs and answers with an "almost." They are the Gallardo Rivera family who have been forever from Coruña Street on the corner with Talipan in Colonia Alamos. Franco's mother laughs and says it would be better for the four of them to get together another day. Paloma is up to whatever whenever. Italian food? Franco's father likes it a lot. Paloma isn't much of a cook much but she does make a fusili with mushroom dish that is absolutely delicious. Franco's mother says great!! They will have supper at Paloma's, the place with an elevator, on Friday night!! Paloma is fine with that.

Franco tells Paloma that his parents are a little classist. She says they are a little classist like her parents are manipulators. They agree their parents will never change. Franco thinks it is time to tell all the parents that they are novios. Paloma suggests that while they are thinking that over she wants to do a "love test". She wants them to sleep together. No sex is to be involved because if they end up together, sleeping together is the one thing they will be doing every night for the rest of their lives. After sleeping together, they can decide if that is what they really want.

The next day Franco is ready to cancel the supper when his mother texts him asking for a time knowing how his parents can be. Paloma refuses to cancel. She sees getting his parents to like her as a challenge and is confident that she will . The supper will go on.

VENCER Part Four

Franco says he almost told his parents he had HIV when he ended up in the hospital but he didn't. Paloma can understand his fear of of his parents rejecting him.

It is Friday night and Franco's parents come to Paloma's place. Franco's mother has noticed what a bad neighborhood Paloma lives in. Franco describes it as a working class neighborhood. Franco asks his mother to please drop it. His father notices that his son is still concerned about social justice. Paloma suggest some wine. Franco's father is not happy with Paloma's choice of wine. Wine that common gives him gastritis. Paloma says she has antacid tablets if he needs them. Franco's mother opines on the apartment. It is small but cozy. The doorbell rings and it is Paloma's parents as loud as ever and they brought some of their tamales, too! Franco invites them to stay and eat with them. Everyone tells Franco's parents how they have to try the tamales. They are of gourmet quality!

Franco tries to coax his mother to try the tamales. His father says that he and his mother do not eat food from questionable sources. Paloma's father asks why the get together?? Franco's father says that Franco and Paloma are gong to be formalizing their relationship. Paloma's father asks if that means they are getting married. Her mother tells her to really think about if Franco is the right one. Franco's mother says that maybe they should be the ones asking if Paloma is the right girl since he comes from a good family. Paloma's father sticks up for her and says that she is very HEALTHY and doesn't have any kind of illness like . . . Franco's mother asks like who???

Franco's mother says that Paloma is going to have to learn how to cook because if she doesn't, what are they going to do when they have children??? They are going to have children, right?? Franco thinks it is too soon to talk about this. Paloma's mother asks if it is too soon for Franco or if it is because he is not able to??? Franco's father asks if he can or cannot have children?? Franco says of course he can. His mother advises him that the zip code also matters. Franco clarifies that Paloma and he are not getting married yet and so they are not planning on having any children yet. Franco says he also has something tell his parents. He is living with HIV.

VENCER Part Five

AMANDA

Amanda tells her grandchildren that her mother had to make an unexpected business trip. They will stay with her until she comes back.

Amanda and Enrique chat and each apologizes about how they handled the spa situation. They both feel like everyhing is against them having a relationship. Amanda also explains her situation with Tamara having taken off and leaving her with her grandchildren. She fears that Tamara is putting her custody of her children at risk.

Amanda tells Susana the Elder the she is going to try to talk Leandro into allowing her to open her spa while the investigation goes on. Susana the Elder actually smiles. She does talk to Leandro and he agrees to allow the spa to reopen because the guilty party is Desirée who they are currently looking for. He makes it clear that he is really doing it for her.( Awww! ) She brings up him also helping Genaro as a good thing. Leandro says he really needs to talk to Dulce, too. Amanda says she promised not to say anything to anyone about where she is. He agrees that is okay because he knows that Dulce is safe under Manuela's protection. He will talk to her to put closure to Genaro's situation. He then asks if she has heard from Tamara. When he finds out she is still incommunicado, he calls her stupid again for putting everything on a silver platter for Nico. Leandro expresses his concern that he could be losing Julieta to Manuela's new novio.

Susana the Elder thanks Amanda for talking to Leandro and being to reopen her shop. Enrique is also grateful.

DULCE

Pablo tells Manuela that he wishes things were better with Dulce. Se notices that this ow referring to her as Dulce which si a good sign. He has found out that she is going to another shelter and doesn't want him to know where she is. He hates to think of her locked up somewhere as if she were a criminal.

Manuela shows up to see Dulce with Pablo. Dulce is not happy since she was clear with Manuela about not wanting to see Pablo. (Really? Doesn't anyone listen to what SHE wants??) Pablo insists that he needed to talk to her. Manuela leaves. Pablo tells Dulce that he divorced Carmina a while ago. Dulce hopes that one day Pablo realizes that Carmina is the one who dressed Pablito like woman so he would blame Damián. She did it because she discovered that she was different. It really makes her sad that Carmina is always going to be around them because she is the mother of her brother. Pablo invites her to come stay with him so he can take care of her. Dulce says he doesn't understand her. She doesn't know what bothers him more, her sexual orientation or her gender. He doesn't get it. Pablo wants to try to understand. He wants to take care of her, support her. He asks who hurt her. Dulce gets nervous, says she has to go and does.

VENCER Part Six

ENRIQUE'S HOUSE

Susana the Elder tells Enrique that she managed to crawl into her "closed" shop through the window and she discovered Desirée has also been robbing products from her shop so she is going to add thief to get charges she wants brought against her. Susans the Younger confesses to being the one who took the products. Enrique and Nacho leave the mother and daughter to talk. Susana the Younger explains that she gave her products away at school to try to make friends. Nobody notices her. The girls always criticize her for being stupid and fat. Susan the Elder has a rude awakening when her daughter adds that she treats her just like the kids do at school. She apologizes to her daughter. In tears, Susana the Elder tells Enrique what a bad mother she has been. Enrique consoles her and tells her there is a way to fix the situation.

GENARO

Genaro goes to see Leandro. Genaro says he is there to thank him and to tell him that he doesn't want any problems. As far as he is concerned, it's over. He got out of jail and that was the important thing, right?? He tells Leandro that he doesn't know who ordered him be threatened. He feels afraid just mentioning it. He won't tell his sister anything because he doesn't want her having any problems either. Leandro ask him for the name of the criminal who threatened him in jail. Genaro says he is called "EL Cimarrón" (The Wild One). He is the top dog. They call "El patrón" (the boss). He has no idea who "El Patrón" is working for. He never has had any enemies. He also doses't know know why they did what they did to Dulce. He never saw anything suspicious. One time, Dulce got a call from a boyfriend called "N". He saw it on her cellphone. it could have been the guy that . . . Leandro understands that Genaro wants to forget all about this but he is a key witness in Dulce's case. Leandro asks if he knows where Dulce is. Genaro answers that he doesn't. Leandro asks if he has spoken to Dulce since his release. Again, the answer is no. Leandro asks if Genaro distanced himself from Dulce because he found out that she was a man before or did he know already and liked her. Genaro says he didn't and asks how could he? Leandro tells him not to leave the city or hide. He is going to help him. He also warns him that the guy who threatened him is not going to leave him alone. Genaro thanks Leandro for getting him out so quickly. Irineo guides him out. Leandro tells Irineo that they need to have somebody follow Gensro. He knows a lot more than he is saying.

VENCER Part Seven

NICO

Nico tells his lawyer to make sure he gets the house in the agreement and then he can continue to aggravate his wife about the kids. He also wants alimony so he gets as much of Everardos' fortune as he can forever like in "Ever"ardo.

Nico calls Amanda demanding to know where Tamara is. She refuses to answer any calls or messages. He will not be ignored. Amanda says she is not there to be her daughter's nana or to cover for her. Tamara must be working. He is sure that she and Tamara are colluding to ruin him. Somebody broke the lock on his house and left everything thrown over. Funny how only his things were disturbed. It is costing him big bucks to change the lock. He thinks that she and Tamara did it to intimidate him. Amanda decides not to listen to his ridiculous accusations and hangs up.

Nico confronts Amanda at the shop saying that he went to Tamara's workplace and nobody has seen her. Then he went to where Amanda lives and the doorman said he hadn't seen Tamara there for days. He is ready to show that Tamara is a bad mother and neither she nor Leandro are going to intimidate him. .

CARMINA

Leandro pays Carmina a visit. They toast with glasses of wine and she tells him how much she appreciates his visit. She is living all alone with her son who is asleep right now. Leandro tells her she has nothing be grateful for. He is her lawyer and there to serve her. (I want to ask how exactly??) He rubs her arm, touches her face and tells her how pleased he is to see her. She is so glad he has her case. She is afraid that Pablo will snatch her son away from her. He sees Pablo's threats to take her son away or to accuse her of being a thief as a last ditch effort. He is there to defend her. He has NEVER lost a case, if he does say so himself. She is super clear about the kind of lawyer and. . . MAN that he is. Leandro wants her to get Pablo to put as much property in her or Pablito's name. If Pablo wants her here in the city, she should accept the house and take advantage of the opportunity . She toasts to that.

Carmina calls Pablo. She needs to see him now to talk about something important. He says he will be by to see her as son as he can. She isn't happy with the answer. He won't be blackmailed with her using his son.

Pablo gets a call from Carmina asking if he will finally pay attention to her. Pablito is in the hospital.

Carmina meets Pablo at the hospital blaming Manuela for making Pablito take second place in his life. She doesn't know why Pablo sere anyway. Pablo is now stabilized. He asks if Pablito si alone. He must be scared. Carmina assures him that Pablo is not alone. Somebody is taking care of him. When he enters the room, he sees Leandro patting Pablito on the head.

ONE more thing. . .Manuela is no longer treating Brisas. It is not ethical for her to treat a friend of her mother.

VENCER

Jarifa, so many fascinating short stories in and of themselves, organized in exceptional fashion and skillfully relayed. Just excellent, every word.

I’m very curious about all the intrigue surrounding Genaro. Leandro is intuitive and is likely right in that closemouthed Genaro is keeping much to himself. But I sincerely doubt Leandro is being motivated by wanting to truly help Dulce and Genaro. I think he is fearful that whatever nefarious involvement he has in this will be revealed.

“Leandro asks if Genaro distanced himself from Dulce because he found out that she was a man before or did he know already and liked her. Genaro says he didn't and asks how could he?” I sense there will be no resumption of Dulce and Genaro as a couple but hopefully, perhaps, after some time, a friendship.

Who IS the “un-hoodied" hoodied man?” What is fueling his hatred? When is Julieta’s Spidey sense going to start tingling, especially after that loathsome text he sent her.

I loved Yaneli’s passion and determination; charges must be brought; the evidence is overwhelming and undeniable.
Do Paloma and Franco stand a chance with both sets of parents now in the mix? Franco’s parents’ prejudices are cringeworthy; both are unlikeable and off-putting. “His mom cannot do stairs. (I wonder if she just "doesn't do" stairs??)” nailed it Jarifa! Paloma’s parents simply cannot keep their mouths shut.

I feel for Dulce but Pablo really does seem to appear to be trying. Change just doesn’t happen overnight as much as we wish it would.

Susana the Elder finally gets a clue.

Yes, oh my did Carmina and Leandro strike evilly at Pablo! It had seemed obvious Leandro and Carmina were going to get "together". The look on their respective faces and Pablo's pure shock when he saw Leandro with Pablito, was hard to watch.

Jarifa, thank you for all the time and talent you pour into your recaps . You bring us every moment of frustration .

Paloma and Fausto both have less than ideal parents . Paloma seems to be taking the high road with Fausto's snobby parents . Claudia Martin has a lovely smile , and she seems like a truly nice person.

Leondro and Carmina ...nothing good can come from this alliance. Carmina is A tiny terror with her perfect hair and clothes and severely imperfect soul.

Leondro definitely is worried about whatever Genero and Dulce know . I cannot figure out how he fits into the evil, but I am sure he is right at the top. Human trafficking ? Was Dulce kidnapped to be trafficked , but her kidnappers discovered the she was trans ?

These telenovelas are always about what happens when bad people happen to good people .

P.s. I just realized that this is the year of the "V." I am watching Vida, Vencer ,and " Vuelve A mi" on Telemundo !!! Susan

Thanks Doris, Rgv Chick and Waterlily! Things are a lot clearer now.

Paula almost cringed when Rolando kissed her. She is fine kissing Pepe. That should make it clear to her that she can’t marry Rolo. And I would definitely have a talk with Diego to find out why he is against the marriage. She had said she had to clear it with her kids first.

I would think her dad would step in, grandparents often end up raising their grandchildren. Plus the boys would be a big help.

I hope they have that food truck cleaned before they cook in it. When Lorenzo tried to give Marco money for the hair I thought Marco said no because he worked for him. I first thought Marco wasn’t quite 100% in his head. Maybe a little slow. But not sure, he seemed fine talking to Gracia about liking someone but he couldn’t tell her.

Rolando driving and just not listening to Paula, and then so insistent that Pepe was guilty- that would make me rethink a marriage with him. I really don’t think he loves her. And he’d be a lousy father.

I loved the star scene too. Glad Rolando wasn’t interested in staying! But I wish Paula and Pepe could have been together in that split scene!

Thanks Jarifa, I loved the separate sections for each character. And so much information, great recap.

Leandro is really evil, and petty. I think he’s at the hospital just to get even with Pablo because Pablo took Julieta home from the hospital. That’s why he’s with Carmina in the first place. They deserve each other. I’m thinking Leandro is El Patrón. I really don’t think Género knows anything more than he said he did. Which isn’t much.

Next on my list is Nico. Has he ever worked? It seems he always had something coming soon. I hope he doesn’t get any of Tamara’s money.

I’m glad Yaneli has others to back what she says. I can’t believe the prosecutor refuses to do anything. I guess she gave the phone back so Alex could put it back with his uncle’s things.

The hooded man taking Julieta’s picture was creepy. I didn’t know what the text said. Who is he and why is he after her? More mystery! She needs to quit communicating with that guy, who must be the hoodie man.

Franco’s parents are awful. Poor guy. I guess Paloma hadn’t invited her parents over. I had thought she was going to, so the parents could meet. Did she cook dinner? She was supposed to. Although those parents would have had something negative to say about it!

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 101 - Viernes, 26 de enero, 2024

Threats and guns out all around - Part 1/2

Ezequiel finds where Emi, Leo and Nico are. Nico asks him not to do anything impulsive. Ezequiel threatens Leo not to evoke his fury.

Roberta tells (orders) Sara to tell the press why she was missing. Sara says something about her departure being forced by a fear. Rob goes to talk with Addled and Fidel, warning them that any rebellion on Sara's behalf won't be tolerated, with serious circumstances.

Leonardo offers Ezequiel money but he refuses. As Ezequiel is pointing the gun in our hero's faces, Tigre pops up and SHOOTS. Leo manages to disarm Ezequiel. Everyone else is happy to see Tigre on foot again, but their happiness doesn't last long. The cops who were with him enter, pointing a gun to Zaira's head. Zaira tells the guard something I didn't catch and Sebastián enters, who hits the cops. Ezequiel is successfully immobilized, yay! Zaira tells Nico it's time to leave and Emi, Leo and he do.

Aleida, shockingly, says that's she's not Orlando's mother! She urges him to leave with Jenny to escape his father and his connections with the drug world. Orlando hugs Aleida tightly.

Marijó is holding some letters of Joaquina's that might prove Joaquina isn't guilty. Mar says Emilia can help and Gigí says that Emi is dead.

The woman who works in the police looks at the letters and says it's not enough evidence. Gael, with annoying Cayetana by his side, tells the woman not to be just another pawn in Roberta's chess game.

Tigre and Zaira have Ezequiel and the dude who entered and threatened them with Zaira's life tied up. At some point, Tigre and Zaira kiss. There goes my last hope.

Sara refuses to answer more questions. A reporter who obviously refuses to give up, asks her about the mine bankruptcy and whether or not is her family going to get involved in it. Sara answers, she says she'll make sure the guilty ones pay, no matter who they are. When the reporters aren't listening, Roberta reveals to Sara that she knows she left with Danilo and shows her some pictures of them leaving!!! Sara plays dumb, but Rob isn't having any of that. She mentions Sara having made a deal with the enemy.

Mar tells Gigí that Roberta, Fidel and Addled are dangerous people. Gigí thinks that they can interrogate Míriam to denounce them for the drug selling.

Rob has the "we're powerful no one's going to beat up" arrogance.

Nico, Emi and Leo hug as Nico asks Emi to promise him they'll never get separated. Last time he said that his mother got locked up for a murder she didn't commit in a insane asylum. Just sayin'. Emi talks about her love to Leo, UGH.

Addled sends a threatening voice message to Míriam.

Rob demands Nico to be brought to her and threatens Sara some more.

Leo talks to a sleeping Emilia and leaves. Uh oh.

Aleida and Marat are searching for Zaira at Gigí's. Teresa, the house employee, tells them Zaira didn't sleep here.

Marijó tells Tigre and Zaira that Joaquina's letters weren't enough. Tigre informs them about Ram detonating the bomb and Gael looks like he wants to kill him (Ram). They talk about ways to ruin Roberta when they suddenly remember about having a phone with a recorded conversation of Emilia's lawyer who was sold to Roberta. A bit of deus ex machina, but...

Emi wakes up, but Leo isn't there. He has left a letter for her, which she reads. He talks about justice and so on and so forth. I'm still irritated by him.

They're ready to move Joaquina to prison. Great.

Emi tells a now woken up Nico that she has to go somewhere.

Fidel has his doubts with Rob's plans, but Rob is consumed by her arrogance and is sure everything will go well.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 101 - Viernes, 26 de enero, 2024

Threats and guns out all around - Part 2/2

Emi catches up to Leo and tells him not to do anything with Roberta, she has already tried to kill him twice and it's dangerous. Leo replies that he is willing to sacrifice himself for Emilia and Nico. Nico pops up -I guess he went with Emilia- and they have a family hug. Emi has managed to convince him, for now.

Orlando has decided to close the restaurant. Flor asks for forgiveness as Fidel walks in. Orlando FINALLY stands up to his father. Fidel is shocked that Orlando has grown a backbone.

Gigí is talking to a lawyer about Joaquina's case. If I got it correctly, she doesn't have many chances of being free. Jenny bursts in, in pain. They call a doctor.

Sara tells the press Ezequiel is missing and it's Leonardo's and Emilia's fault! She explains that Emilia is alive and says she's behind all this! She then adds the police are looking for her.

Fidel gets progressively aggressive with Orlando and even slaps him! He tells him his mother didn't leave with her lover, he killed her! Orlando looks at him, shocked. At this moment, Aleida bursts in, pointing a GUN at Fidel!

Okay, this one qualifies for one of the most disturbing scenes in the whole show. Roberta is cold to Patricio, who reminds her he could tell everything he knows. He then tells her he loves her! Rob rejects him and he tries to... force her.. you get the point... Rob, in an act of self defence, grabs a knife and stabs Patricio with it.

In the last scene of the episode, Leo, Emilia and Nico arrive at Tigre's. Hugs all around. The joy doesn't last for long; police officers arrive outside to arrest Emilia! At this most, because good people have the worst luck, something catches on fire!

And with our heroes between a rock and a hard place, we have the Fin del Capítulo...

Minas
Thanks, weirdo. I have to say that ugh just about describes my reaction whenever Emilia and Leo are in the same scene. I had to laugh when she told him she believed in his love...Based on what evidence exactly? There are authors who can't write romance, but if their book isn't just about romance, it isn't so bad. But you'd think telenovela writers know how to do it, given it's their main focus and their job.
I was actually a bit confused about how the whole hiding thing was supposed to go. I thought Emi and Nico were supposed to leave the country with Leo? I mean, what then would have been the point of people helping them escape? And then Emilia just goes and says 'my love, I'm fighting with you.' I actually hate it when they do these kinds of scenes like this because I find it cringgy.
So Flor wants a chance to just leave. She's been selling drugs and lied to a person who was supposedly her friend, I don't think that would qualify her for a happy ending. But then Miriam has been doing the same and they aren't even trying to make her feel guilty. She is of course a victim. So I do wonder if these two are going to be treated differently. Miriam is now on a rescue mission and Sebas will appear in 10...9..
I wonder if Aleida honestly thinks she could kill Fidel. She must be one of those good guys with a 'I can't make myself kill a person' attitude. Unless they want to change things by making her see that her agreeing they'd be just as bad as Roberta if they killed her didn't mean much when it came to her own personal enemies.
Nico showing up right when Emilia was ready to leave with Leonardo was funny. It's like the writers remembered she'd be abandoning her child if she went with Leo. I was starting to wonder how she could do this to her kid, who was her motivation all along.
It occurred to me recently that even Danilo, who took so much money from people and was a bad guy at the start, has more spine and determination than Leo ever did. How did they manage to ruin a male protagonist's character this much? I keep thinking the actor is sick of playing Leo because his voice sounds somehow strangely tired and resigned even now. Has this actress been paired with someone else in another show? Because I'd like to see her in some other pairing just to see if it would cause me any other emotions other than the irritation I feel when watching her with the actor playing Leo.
I hope they give Sebas' actor a very good galan role after this. And I do mean good,i.e., a role where he is reliable and kind and not the usual crap we've been getting recently. I dread el amor no tiene receta for this reason. I don't want them to ruin the impression I have of Daniel from invencible. If they manage to mess this up, I'll consider it an achievement, because Invencible was so bad it's hard to make it worse. But wait! Minas de pasion feels like invencible 2.0 so...

"MINAS" EPISODE#101:

Weirdo: Howdy from the Alamo City. Thank you very much for your hardworking efforts in keeping us informed of the recap of Friday night's episode.

Smarmy Fidel getting more & more creepier. Adelia packing heat is nice & pointing a gun at the jackass is good, but I've got a feeling Smarmy Fidel will plot one final sinister scheme soon.

6 more episodes left before the Good Guys FINALLY emerge victorious.

Weirdo, another superb recap; loved “Threats and guns out all around” which was perfect!

Your wry wit was on full display with lines including “At some point, Tigre and Zaira kiss. There goes my last hope” . 😊

Weirdo, when Orlando asked Aleida if she was his mother, she looked guilty but I didn’t think she said anything and when she didn’t, thought Orlando immediately blamed himself for coming to that (right) conclusion. I didn’t see her deny she is his mother so thank you for including that very important dialogue! That said, I’m sure she is worried about Orlando’s safety. Speaking of, 5’3” (on a good day) Fidel confronting tall, athletic, former chief of police Orlando had me shaking my head. Orlando swings at him and misses??? C’mon!! Orlando is being emasculated on every front here.

I’m not a Sara fan but I think she is sufficiently scared and will do and say what she needs to, to protect Romina, hence her bashing and blaming Emilia. Reprehensible Addled is doing nothing to try and help Sara or protect her.

What is the matter with poor Jennifer now??

Roberta effectively managed to stir up the hate and prejudice of the women in the pueblo who descended on Tigre and Zaira’s as an angry mob thirsting for Emilia’s blood.

Now that Patricio, Roberta’s most loyal sycophant has turned on her, I wonder if the tide will now start turning against her. We must hope.

Sorry for all the typos but my lack of keyboarding skills and the auto-correct get the better of me some times.

Julieta evidently has not learned her lesson. I wonder what Julieta's reaction is going to be towards Chiro since he made fun of her and her body. She didn't look happy but what will that mean inside that little brain of hers. Will she see him for what he is or try to please him even more?

Diana, thanks. Pleased that you enjoyed the recap. I, too, feel like Leandro has a "nefarious involvement" in all of this but every time I think he is going to give us a hint, he acts like a professional like in the last episode when he asked Irineo to have Genaro followed. That could be interpreted as him looking after the interests of his client Genaro and Dulce. When is he going to trip up? I have never been interested in the Dulce/Franco/Walter plot but the appearance of Franco's parents and their superior attitude was just too much and too well done to skim over. What will be their response will be to their son's admission? Will they get up and leave?

Susan, you are more than welcome. This was an especially fun episode to cover. "Leondro and Carmina ...nothing good can come from this alliance. Carmina is A tiny terror with her perfect hair and clothes and severely imperfect soul." Yes, they would be union made in hell if they ever seriously teamed up but who knows?? maybe they will. Your human trafficking plot does make sense and it is a common theme these days.

Liz, thanks. glad you enjoyed the recap. "Leandro is really evil, and petty. I think he’s at the hospital just to get even with Pablo because Pablo took Julieta home from the hospital. That’s why he’s with Carmina in the first place." Oh, yeah. He was so jealous just because Pablo was driving Julieta home with Manuela. Unbelievable. As for Nico, I do not think we have ever seen him gainfully employed. He was pestering Everardo to finance a business for him to run. What a leech!

Minas

Weirdo , thank you for an excellent recap as these characters limp towards the finish line.

When Sara was speaking to the reporters and revealed that Emilio was alive , Dan was hiding around the corner and eavesdropping .Now what does he plan to do. He was in a clever disguise ..A baseball cap .

Diana, yes, we are supposed to believe that Fidel could so easily beat up tall, fit Orlando. Will Aleida pull the trigger ? I dont think so.

Poor Jenny....sick again. She looked nauseous . Is it possible that she is pregnant again ?

I predict that Rodrigo Brand will have a galan role very soon . I hope that the actor playing Sense also will get a galan role one day . Susan

Terrific recap, Jarifa. You have nailed all these characters. Not a lot of action Friday, but a boatload of conversations. Super job.

I enjoyed Paloma's parents sticking up for their daughter, despite their past (and present) selfishness. At least they've always had a sense of fun. Poor Franco's parents would turn off any future dil. And who says to a potential future dil "We thought he might be gay." In real life, that would deserve a follow-up.

My question is what does Genaro know and when did he know it? Surely Genaro has more info about the baddies that have been beating the hell out of him, threatening to hurt his sister, and made Dulce's life hell.

Honestly, it is time for Dulce to let her pop in. He's calling her "she" now, a mammoth step. But honestly, it's best no one knows where she's living.

I'm guessing Chiro is the sicko that abused Manuela. Wondering why he's going through Julieta rather than going directly to Manuela.

Carmina's cruelty knows no bounds. I find her more disturbing than Leandro.

MINAS

Waterlily, thank you for all of your sage comments.

"Miriam is now on a rescue mission and Sebas will appear in 10...9.." had me smiling away.

Waterlily, Livia Brito has been paired with Jose Ron and Daniel Arenas among others, to far better success than here. To be honest, Livia Brito's portrayals always seem to be more hard edges than soft. In fairness, I think Osvaldo's role here as written never really gave him the opportunity to be an effective galan. The dialog left him seemingly disengaged and emotionally stunted. His devotion to Emilia was always flawed, he was far more suspicious rather than lovingly supportive toward Emilia.

Diana

Minas

Diana, I agree completely with your comments about Livia . I have seen her starring in several telenovelas , and she never feels warm and fuzzy to me .

I like Oswaldo very much , and I think he did what he could with the lines that the writers gave him . The writers today seem to like to present galans with feet of clay. Susan

VENCER

Thanks, Niecie. "My question is what does Genaro know and when did he know it? Surely Genaro has more info about the baddies that have been beating the hell out of him, threatening to hurt his sister, and made Dulce's life hell." Exactly. There is a lot of tap-dancing around these events. Genaro seemed to be almost talking in code when he was talking to Leandro. It was as if they both knew something that the viewers didn't and maybe the other didn't either. It was a difficult conversation to try to make sense out of. ITA about Carmina. She is piece of work, isn't she?

Minas

Thanks Weirdo, I enjoyed your recap. I didn’t realize that Aleida had denied being his mother. Maybe she just wants him to flee this mess before he gets hurt.

My thought when Jennifer was in pain was maybe there were two babies and only one miscarried. Not sure if that can happen, but the doctor examined her so who knows!

I wasn’t sure if our little family was in a hotel room or what. But Emilia knows Roberta wants Nico but was still ready to leave him alone.

I wonder if Patricio is going to live. If so I’m sure he’ll show the proof. All these bad guys just want power and money and they don’t care who they hurt or kill. I can’t believe Patricio thought he had a chance with Roberta.

I think Fidel has a gun pointed at Orlando. So she will kill Fidel if she has to. Hopefully Orlando will find out tomorrow that she’s his mother.

Liz
