"VUELVE" HIGHLIGHTS DISCUSSION:
Novelera: Looking forward to seeing your full-scale recap of last night's episode.

Vuelve

The recap will be a little later than usual today. I am not feeling that great and I’m going to need to lie down for awhile after work before I start writing.

Darcy, the important thing is to take are of yourself.

Vuelve – 2/1/24 part 1 of 2

** This is the shorter, sweeter, and less detailed version. I just don’t have the energy and focus to do more today. Some scenes have been combined, details may have been cut.

The would-be kidnappers try to sweet talk Andres, but he’s on to them. Andres tries to escape and as predicted the situation does prompt some memories of his previous kidnapping, but it doesn’t fully restore his memory. He’s running pretty good but when he starts to remember his car accident he’s frozen, and that horrible woman catches up to him.

Amelia and Diego show up to Ros’s to get info, we don’t have any yet. Amelia wants to leave to go look for Andres, but they don’t know where to look and Diego convinces her she needs to be there for Andres when he returns, because he will return.

Chelo prays for help in finding Andres and Chalo arrives to support her of course. She thanks him.

Nuria, Santi and Nuria are at least in the right market looking for Andres. Nuria and Santi are showing his photo and asking if anyone has seen Andres. Braulio is asking about him as Juan. They run through everywhere and viewerville hopes one of them spots Andres and that horrible lady too.

Chenta is fighting with Alberto because of how he reacted to the prostitution news. He says he just needed time to process but she isn’t buying that. She wants him to leave her alone, for good!

Cassie thinks that grandma and grandpa should get married too and she wants to know if Marino was Martha’s first lover, but Martha avoids the question. Tigre calls, he wants Martha to come visit him.

Liana is celebrating her win over Tigre and planning her next move which includes Fausto somehow. Mia is looking like she’s starting to suspect Liana is crazy.

Euge and Carmen come back from the Andres search, having found nothing and since we need some additional drama, they get really close and this time their almost kiss is seen by Chalo. The expected fall out happens but I was too annoyed by not seeing what’s going on with Andres to pay close attention. Chalo feels used and lied too, Chelo tries to console him.

Nuria does see the horrible lady walking with Andres, and I don’t know why she didn’t just yell out right then, but she tries to follow instead. She calls Santi and tells him where they are and to come quick. Nuria loses Andres for a moment but then finds them back in the bunker with the bad guy. She quietly grabs a weapon and goes to rescue Andres. It doesn’t go well, as the baddy is willing to call some buddies to help him get Andres away from Nuria. Nuria and Andres run but they are soon surrounded. Before the baddies can close in, Braulio and Santi show up and kick some serious booty. They get the heck out of there.

Vuelve – 2/1/24 part 2 of 2

Martha goes to see Tigre, why? I don’t know, but she does. She starts out with the predictable we fed and clothed you, but you killed Aida! Tigre tells her he didn’t kill Aida. He admits he killed many, but Aida wasn’t one of them. He’s going to tell her the truth about her family. Tigre shows Martha about Braulio and Liana, she doesn’t want to believe him, but Tigre still has the resignation letter from Liana as proof. He tells Martha where to find it.

Back at the hostel, Andres still only wants Mommy Amelia! Nuria lets Amelia go with Andres to get cleaned up and calmed down. Stupid Braulio is still trying to use the Nuria is a bad mother who let Andres get lost twice angle. Santi should hit Braulio next, but he doesn’t. He just tells him to shut up. But Braulio is insistent, Nuria is negligent, and Andres doesn’t even love her, a judge should know. Amelia comes out of Andres’ room and despite her own comments earlier about how this would not happen if Andres was with her, she’s respectful and kind to Nuria. She even concedes that Andres had run away before. But she’s not willing to believe Braulio is putting ideas in Andres’ head, somehow this woman is still convinced that Braulio is a wonderful father even knowing what he’s capable of otherwise.

Euge and Carmen have another fight over whether or not pansexual actually exists.

Braulio on the other hand is still a heartless bastard, Nuria makes the mistake of letting him have a few minutes alone with Andres, and this dumbass proves that not even seeing Andres in imminent danger is enough to stop him from his manipulations. He spits more poison into Andres’ ear, ensuring him that Nuria didn’t rescue him because she loves him, she did it to make herself look good to the judge. This dude needs to be boiled in hot oil! Maybe Angustias can take care of it if she doesn’t go to prison for Mario’s death.

Speaking of Angustias, Rai tells her that they all know she killed Mario, but they aren’t going to turn her in. He would have done the same in her shoes. Chalo also tells Chelo that’s he’s sure mom killed Mario too.

Martha comes home, ignores Cassie and goes straight to Tigre’s room. She finds the letter and Marino finds her devastated and horrified.

Thanks Susan, I'm not actually sick I don't think. Just reacting to the environment maybe? It went from negative temps for a couple of weeks to the 60's this week. I don't think my body knows what to do. Anyway, I just feel 'off'. Tired, listless, a bit of a headache, but no real sickness symptoms. I'm glad it's Friday so I can just relax this weekend.

vuelve

Thanks so much, Darcy. We appreciate your soldiering on while not feeling tiptop. And it was a fine recap.

Chenta, Chenta, don't be a fool. Grab up Jorge Luis Pila!

I agreed with Martha. That was very inappropriate of Casandra to ask about her grandmother's sex life. But it seems to be because she has it on her mind.

Yep, Mia is no longer all in with Liana. And why can't Liana do her own freaking investigation to find Fausto?

I am fed up with the really, really stale TN gambit of having couples almost kiss and then someone interrupting them...shocked, simply shocked.

Chalo, your indignation doesn't do a thing for me. You were madly in love with Nuria, then made a pretty fast switch to Euge. I think you kind of deserve what you get. Plus that's such a guy thing...blaming a woman because she's just not that into him.

That letter was amazingly easy to find. I think Mexico City Forensics need an overhaul.

Tigre called Martha from one of those prison pay phones, dangling some dirt about her family. She couldn't resist and, of course, it's high time someone found out something about Braulio and Liana.

Amen on "heartless bastard". We could see that Andres clung to Nuria when she was saving him from the baddies. And he tried to tell him Nuria wasn't a bad person. But Braulio is a classic case of despecho. He can't have Nuria so he tries to ruin her relationship with her child out of spite.

I did a brief online search. Apparently child trafficking, presumably sex trafficking, is a big problem in Mexico.

vuelve

I'll put up a recap tonight.

2/2/24 – Pt 1 of 4

We begin with more of the disgusting manipulation of Andres by Braulio. He actually promises that, if Andres is patient, he’ll bring him back to Casa Zepeda. Then he asks him if he loves his Uncle Santiago. He tells the boy that he needs to make sure that Nuria and Santiago aren’t together [a real dog in the manger]. He tells him that Nuria wants to separate him from the whole family.

In stark contrast Nuria and Amelia have a heart to heart. Amelia says she wants Nuria to win Andres over. She relates how withdrawn he was when she met him. And that it took a while to bring him out of his shell.

Poor Laura Flores. They hired her to overreact to everything. She sobs while Mariano tries to comfort her.

Braulio comes out of the boy’s bedroom saying that Nuria is harming him. [Nuria, now would be a good time to speak up and say, in front of Amelia, that a few days ago Braulio wanted to marry her so she’d have Andres.]

Ros is miserable because Andres got away. Chalo marches in and starts griping to Rai and Ros about Carmen stealing his girlfriend. [This guy has never appealed to me. I know he’ll likely end up with Chelo, but I don’t think he deserves a HEA.]

The doctor comes to check out Martha. After he leaves, she tells Mariano that she went to see Tigre, and he told her awful things about Braulio and Liana. She shows him the letter. And she tells him that Tigre said that Braulio and Liana set up the attempt on Alicia and Fabian, in which Alicia died. And Roberto died because he discovered what they’d done. Mariano tells her it can’t be true. He doesn’t even read the letter. {Shut up, Mariano!]

Tigre calls Evil Auntie from prison. She snarls that his mother was in bad shape because of Roberto. She goes on to say that the bomberos (firemen) lied. Tigre’s mother didn’t set fire to the house and try to burn Tigre up as well. Tigre: “You knew this all along and made me believe in a lie.” [Well, Viewerville tried yelling at our TV screens that Auntie was bad news.] Tigre: “I lost my whole life chasing a ghost.” He sinks to the floor, looking devastated.

Nuria tells Andres he shouldn’t leave the house without permission. She reminds him that there are bad people out there. She tries to tell him how much she loves him. He says he knows that she saved him, but he was only trying to go home.

Alberto calls Santi to tell him that Tigre had confessed to killing Aida and Rosenda. Santi happens to be with Chema, who’s overjoyed to hear this.

Braulio tells Amelia he won’t sign the divorce papers. He also says he had scheduled a meeting with the judge to accuse Nuria of neglect. When Juan comes back he needs to see his parents together. Amelia tells him she knows that he said bad things about Nuria to Andres.

vuelve

2/2/24 – Pt 2 of 4

Braulio comes to see how Martha is doing. She hides the letter. Braulio plays good son, saying he was worried and that he loves her. After he leaves, she begs Mariano to find Fabian. She has to know what sort of son she raised.

Liana asks someone over the phone if what she asked will be done. It should look like suicide. We see a cop come and enter Tigre’s cell. He goes for him with a knife, but Tigre fights him off and eventually stabs him to death with the knife meant for him.

Nuria and Chelo are trying to convince Andres that they don’t have to stay around the pension all the time. They can go and do things together, maybe with Uncle Santiago. Andres tells Nuria that he won’t love her if he sees her with his uncle.

Santi is at Diego’s apartment. Diego tells him that Celia was his daughter’s mother. He’s sure Braulio is responsible for the fact that she was found dead in a field. He shows him the phone calls and the hotel bill for the last day she was seen alive. Diego also says that Braulio confessed to their having been lovers. Santi remembers Tigre telling him that he has no idea what his brother Braulio is capable of. Santi promises to investigate. And, if Braulio did it, he’ll see that he pays.

Martha agonizes. [That may have been ¼ of the whole TN.] She remembers the time when Roberto said something about wondering what they’d done wrong (bringing up Braulio), and then says he has to go to the office.

Euge is seriously annoying in this episode. She expects Chalo not to be upset, and she doesn’t like Carmen telling her she’s being silly about the “pansexual” theory. [Carmen, you can do SO much better.]

Tigre calls Liana from prison. [He’s on the phone more than he’s in a cell.] She’s surprised he’s alive. He tells her that her plan failed. He says he wants she and Braulio to come to see him. Or, if not, he’ll send someone to kill them.

Andres gets the usual telenovela high fever. A doctor is called.

Liana is talking Braulio into going to see Tigre. He’s not thrilled and upset she failed in having Tigre killed. He reminds her that, if Santi finds out about the attack on Alicia and Fabian, it’s all over for them.

Mariano got the phone number for Fabian. His mother, Irene, answers, doesn’t want to talk to Martha, refuses to put Fabian on, and hangs up. Fabian tells his mother that it’s time to return to Mexico. Since hearing about Braulio being involved with Sapo, he knows he needs to see justice done.

Braulio gives some guard a thick stack of pesos to see Tigre. Tigre begins a monologue telling Braulio and Liana all he knows about the two of them. 1. If he hadn’t stopped Liana, she’d have shot Braulio. 2. She set up the deal for the shoddy fabrics to get Braulio booted from the presidency. 3. She arranged the assault by Sapo, arranging for the cameras not to work, and wanting Sapo to kill Braulio.

vuelve

2/2/24 – Pt 3 of 4

He goes on to say that Braulio has spent years blaming Liana for her parents’ deaths so he could use her. [Of course we just found out Braulio was right.] He asks Braulio if he knows how many times Liana went to bed with him (Tigre) so he’d kill Nuria for her. He tells Braulio she pushed Nuria when she fell while working at the store. And…she tried to drown Nuria’s child to make her suffer. [How’d he know about that?] To Braulio: “You killed Celia and had me get rid of Martha’s daughter so as to not share some of the company.” He wishes he could see the faces of Braulio’s family when they find this out. Best of all will be Santiago finding out he spent 5 years in jail for what Braulio did.

He winds up saying that he waited so long to tell Braulio that he was a Zepeda, that he was his brother. But it was a lie. He turns showing bloody wrists. [Boy, the same kinds of cops that missed the letter in Tigre’s bedroom didn’t confiscate the knife he used on the corrupt cop.] Tigre falls down. Liana wants to let him bleed out, but Braulio is smarter. He tells her they’ll think THEY did it. She wakes up, and they both yell for the guards. He is dead in the cell.

The doctor comes to see Andres, who then has a seizure. When he settles, he calls for Mami Amelia. Nuria starts thinking she’s a bad person for keeping him from the one he loves.

Amelia comes to tell Martha she’s filed for divorce and is surprised to find that Martha is on her side. Martha tells Amelia that she deserves someone who loves her.

Alberto is the Swiss Army Knife for the whole cast. He’s come to help Santi prove that Braulio may have killed Celia.

Santi notices the chill when Chenta comes into his office and sees Alberto. Alberto kind of shrugs, saying he had hopes but…

Chema comes to tell Violeta she’ll be released because of Tigre’s confession.

Chelo gets some divorce papers delivered. Chalo tells her she is a wonderful woman. He’s very sweet to her. [Hmm. Chalo seems to be a jerk when he’s without sleeves and a better guy with them.]

Mariano keeps yapping about Martha not believing Tigre when she gets a call about his suicide. She is upset. She wanted him to rot in jail for killing Aida. [Think she’ll faint again when she finds out it was Liana?]

Our two villains snipe at each other in some office at GZ. It’s getting late, and I’ll skip this. But Santi walks in asking Braulio about Celia’s death. [Subtlety is not his strong suit.] Braulio confesses about the cositas in the hotel. He gets on his high horse about being unjustly accused.

Diego is at the foundation putting up the children’s artwork when a guy in a suit shows up looking for Amelia. Raquel tells him she’s not there and that she had an emergency. The guy is not happy, saying they had an appointment. But he sees the kids’ drawings. Diego tells him that these drawings reflect what the kids have gone through and are unable to say in words.

2/2/24 – Pt 4 of 4

Nuria tells Andres that she tries to think about happy things when she’s sad. For example she thinks about when she heard his heartbeat for the first time. And when she saw his little face for the first time. He tells her that he remembered something when the bad people had him. When he was stolen before, he hid in a bus. Then he ran a lot, a car hit him, and then Diego found him. Nuria realizes that’s how he got from Juarez to Aguascalientes. Andres: “I know you didn’t abandon me.” She shows him their matching bracelets. At least he doesn’t shrink away from her anymore.

Amelia comes to see Braulio to say he can’t keep her by force. She’s getting that divorce. He plays the Andres card. He says he’s meeting the judge to tell about Nuria’s neglect. And they need to be together when the boy comes home.

Euge is having a hissy fit. She tears up drawings and says she can’t create anything. She whines a lot. The upshot is that she tells Ros she wants to leave, see new sights, to begin over. Ros is sad but supports her.

Alberto comes to tell Angustias that she’s been cleared of any suspicion in the death of Mario.

BSC Liana thinks Tigre is in her office taunting her. She has to try to look sane when Mia comes in with the info about where to find Fausto.

Diego explains a bit more about how the art is therapy for the children. And also that there was supervision by the foundation’s psychologist. The guy is impressed and wants Diego’s sort of classes to go national. He’s planning to sponsor it.

Martha looks at family pictures. Santi comes in to tell her about his suspicions about Braulio and Celia. But she says they have to be ready if the police come for Braulio. Guess the letter paved the way. But she doesn’t tell him what else she’s learned.

Nuria tells Chelo that Andres is miserable with her and misses the life he had before. “I shouldn’t have brought him here. But I can’t give him back!”

Amelia and Diego talk about the big bucks investor. Diego tells her that the guy lived on the street when he was a child. It looks like Diego got that big job all by himself, better for their relationship.

A guard brings Fausto divorce papers. He says that it looks like those are the only esposas Fausto is going to have. [An esposa is a wife, while esposas are handcuffs.] Liana comes in, thanking another corrupt guard. He admires her looks but thinks she’s Consuelo’s lawyer. She tells him she has a plan to get him out. When he wonders why she’d do that, she replies: “Nuria Garcia”.

Nuria tells Santi how Andres escaped and got to Aguascalientes. Santi tells Nuria about his suspicions about Braulio and Celia. Andres wakes up, sees them embracing, and remembers what Braulio said about Nuria harming Santiago. He tells Nuria to stay away from his uncle. “If you love me like to say you do, stay away from my uncle”. Nuria looks like she’s thinking about it.

Fausto is given clothes and wheeled out of his room.

Braulio comes to Diego’s and finds Amelia there. He starts insulting her. Then he throws a punch at Diego. Wrong move, Braulio. He gets the worst of their fight.

The corrupt guard has Fausto shoot him in the leg. Fausto finds Liana in the stairwell, and they leave together. Oh boy.

"VUELVE" HIGHLIGHTS DISCUSSION:
Novelera: Thank you very much for the recap of last night's episode.

LOL at Braulio getting his ass kicked by Diego.

Still annoyed about Andres whining about going back to Amelia.

Body Count still increasing!

Vuelve

Thanks Novelera! Double duty and you got it done so quickly, impressive!

I love Diego, I do! I agree with Susan that he's the best galan on this show, but I still laugh every time he says 'I have proof'. Phone records and hotel bills are not proof of murder!!! But then Santi repeats the same 'proof' claim to Martha later. Who knows, in the mexican court system maybe that's sufficient proof. In the U.S. you'd be laughed out of the courtroom. Of course, Diego is right - sort of, Tigre technically killed Celila but I'm sure that won't come out not - it still does nothing to make it less annoying that he thinks he has proof.

Seeing Andres miserable with Nuria is rough, but I was surprised from the beginning the judge gave Nuria custody so quickly. Andres should have been transitioned to Nuria, not just dropped off overnight, and where is that psychologist he needs so badly?? Of course, having him go back to Casi de Everything is About to Go up in Flames isn't the answer either.

I was sort of surprised Tigre took himself out, but I suppose it was a fitting ending. After realizing he'd been a puppet all his life, he took control over the only thing he had left and killed himself before Braulio or Liana could do it for him.

I'm not a fan of Euge and I even agree that Carmen could do better, but I still think Carmen is wrong in this situation. She shouldn't be pressuring Euge to declare herself gay. Why is it so important to her anyway? Euge told her that she's in love with her and wants to be with her, why isn't that enough? I think Carmen wanting Euge to 'admit' she's gay is more about Carmen than Euge. Carmen felt different and alone for so long and now she's desperate to have someone else in that same boat with her, and it's selfish. Maybe Euge is gay, maybe she's bi, and maybe she's pansexual or whatever else; but if you truly love someone you give them time and space to figure it out and Carmen is refusing to do that.

I was hoping we were done with Fausto.....

Vuelve

Novelera, wow , thank you for that great, detailed recap . I think my fav comment was calling Alberto , the Swiss Army Knife of this show . He is always there ready to rescue. Angustias is off the hook for putting her daughter's murderer up in flames .

Darcy, I agree that Carmen is being unfair to Euge , but then , the writers thought we needed a bit more drama in this side story .

Kim ( Liana) really knows how to bring the evil BSC to the villain roles . It will be Interesting seeing her playing the good girl in a new telenovela starting on Univision this month .

It is sad watching Jandres reject Nuria despite her rescuing him from those bad guys . I didn't realize that Nuria had called Santi before she went in to rescue Jandres. I thought it was just a lucky break that Santi showed up while she was holding the baddies off .

Okay, one villain down with Tigre gone .

Glad Diego seems to have a benefactor who recognizes Diego is a smart, compassionate good guy.

Looks like Chelo and Chalo are each other's HEA. Whatever . I have noticed that Chelo's baby has disappeared , so she has plenty of time to offer Chalo tea and sympathy . Maybe she can get him into shirts with sleeves ...she bought Nuria that sewing machine that she never uses .

I think I saw Rai in an insurance commercial.

Laura Flores looks very different in " Th Vida es mi vida" on Univision . ...kind of a hippy dippy who wears various headbands in her platinum blonde hair . Susan

Thanks for the kind words. I hadn't noticed Juanita's mention of Friday being a two-hour episode on the Thursday page, so I sort of gulped when I saw it on my DirecTV guide. I do have the advantage of being a life-long night owl. Staying up late to write it was a much better option for me than trying to do something the next day when my intellect doesn't usually kick in until noon.

Steve, yes. Braulio tends to finish last in all of his fights. So far, he's lost to Santiago, Diego and IIRC to Sapo after the big parking garage failed ambush. I could happily watch him get beat up every night.

Darcy, I hadn't thought of that, sort of seeing things in black and white. But gradually having Andres spend more time with his mother would have been much better. And the writers seemingly thinking that those phone records and a hotel bill sealed the deal was kind of simplistic. But TNs are not known for logic, right?

What Tigre said was he could not bear being imprisoned for two murders he did not commit. He seemed to have sort of an "honor among thieves" outlook on life. He might have accepted rotting in jail for what he did to Tania, but not for the crimes Braulio and Liana committed. I agree that the fact that it was Tigre who finished off Celia will probably remain a secret since Braulio believes he did it. Also, his despair at finding out he was not a Zepeda surely played a big part.

Hmmm. I guess I'm Team Carmen all the way. She's a lovely, sensitive young woman and I didn't think she deserved a waffler like Euge.

Susan, I had never seen Kinmberley Dos Ramos in any novela before. Sounds like she's been in several on Uni. I tend to stick to Telemundo. And, yes, she brings the evil very well. Good point about the lack of scenes with Jacintito, giving Chelo more time to sympathize.

Speaking of Laura Flores, I backed up and watched a couple of times when Martha was looking through the family album. There was a photo of her, much younger and with long blonde hair. I was trying to see which child was which, thinking they used real kid pictures of William Levy and Ferdinando Valencia, but my TV isn't big enough to figure it out.
