El Amor No Tiene Receta, #10: Too Many Villains and A Matter of Life or Death

My apologies for lateness. Please provide missing details, especially about dialogue, which was fast and furious.

Ginebra said to Elvira “you must take care of her” and Elvira replied “You could be my daughter”. Esteban saw this and looked on, confused. Ginebra – with a mocking look that Elvira did not recognize – said “Oh no, I'm so sorry. She died.” Esteban said she should go inside and relax in her room. She refused and true to form became angry at the party she had never wanted there.

A teen named Emilio arrived; Jeronimo introduced Gala to him. A girl named Jovana arrived and Gala made the introductions. Jovana and Emilio went off together. Gala expressed interest in Jeronimo but he did not return the sentiment and walked away.

Paz and Mireya were keeping their eyes on things, especially Mauro whom Paz was determined to follow. Mireya offered to accompany hr but Paz said that someone had to take care of the party clean-up.

Felipa went over to the table where Nandy was seeing to the drinks and insulted her. Nandy splashed her deliberately. At their table Kenzo told his sons he intended to spend more time with them. Gala looked at Jeronimo who was looking around at all the girls as his younger brother (whose name I didn't catch) made comments about all the poor people present. Salomón approached Gala to ask why she was she was crying. She kissed him and said he had to look like her novio for the moment.

Fortunately for that moment she was lucky that her dad was busy leading Elvira into the house. They had been arguing about business and Elvira got angry enough to be careless with the wine bottle. It fell on the floor and broke. Paz ran over as Elvira began collapsing. She got there in time to prevent her falling onto the spilled wine and broken glass. Ginebra watched, thinking “I hope you die, Elvira.”

Paz helped Esteban get Elvira to the couch and shouted for someone to call an ambulance. This was heard by someone outside. Mauro pretended to make the call as Esteban's two younger kids ran in.

Felipa accused Nandy of causing scandal but Nandy wasn't having it. She left her work station to run inside to help.

Bosco was upstairs with his rapier practicing his lunges. [You are no Errol Flynn, chico; get used to it.] Upon discovering he had drunk all the water in his car cup he headed for the kitchen.

Pepa – who had just fetched a bowl of ice from the kitchen – wandered into the library and spotted an art book on the coffee table. He was carefully turning the pages when Bosco entered the room behind him and rested the blunted tip of his rapier on his shoulder, asking “What are you stealing?”

Eder was beginning to panic at the sight of his unconscious abuela. A siren was heard. Bosco said to Pepa “You hear that siren? I think the police are coming for you.” He continued to hold the sword, this time within inches of Pepa's face. Pepa pushed the sword away and said “Keep biting me, nosey, and I'll break you more than your little sword.” [Is there a double entendre here?] “I don't need to put the saber in your face to make you toothless.” He flicked the sword aside. “I wasn't stealing anything, spoiled baby.” He picked up the ice and left.

Vermin entered Lupita's kitchen playing with the keys, which she took away from him. She told him to get lost before Paz got home from Esteban's place. Vermin was contemptuous at hearing that Paz was the chef to a rich family. He put an envelope of money on the table, saying it was for payment of debts. Lupita wisely suspected that the money was ill-gotten gains. He claimed to be working on renovating houses and moonlighting as a cab driver, saying it is difficult to get a job after getting out of prison. She reminded him he needed to look for one and shoved him out.

Mireya speculated that Elvira may have been allergic to some ingredient they used. Nandy not-so-secretly hoped that Elvira would pass to the next world like her closeted ex. Salomón was smirking through this conversation but he also heard Paz talking about having to follow Mauro and needing at least one of them to stay for clean-up. He asked about this and Paz only told him that it was a matter of life or death. Mireya got the idea of putting her phone into Mauro's car so they could track it while following him. They only had to prevent anyone else from knowing this. [Don't know about you but I don't trust that brat.]

Ginebra wanted to go with Mauro to meet with the man who had Samara. He told her she should not risk that and to trust him. He told her that this man will not surrender the child easily and she should not expose herself. She should concentrate on getting into Elvira's good graces. The bottle was broken. Ginebra said that this should help her get closer to Esteban and his children. If that didn't work, Plan B.

Elvira was feeling faint and sick as the EMT looked after her. Gala said the food was all the same. Esteban speculated that it could have been the wine. She refused to believe this, saying it was a Bordeau and what would he know about wine? The EMT said it wasn't necessary, that it was very common to accidentally consume hallucinogens that could have been in the food, usually in things like brownies or cupcakes. Elvira flashed back to the cupcake she ate and immediately blamed Paz for her criticism of the food. “So, you threw the pot?” he asked. She claimed it was an accident and that Paz tried to kill her. She and Esteban had a new edition of the same argument when he defended Paz yet again. Esteban asked his older kids about their friends and Elvira bitched about Paz' family and neighbors from the barrio. She looked as though she were about to vomit, then took a deep breath before reclining.

Salomón was detained by Nandy who demanded to know what he was up to. He complained about getting blamed for everything and she said this wouldn't be the first time. He said nobody believes him, then walked off.

Kenzo's sons were embarrassed by the earlier incident between Felipa and Nandy. He told them he had arranged the party for them to have a good time. The younger boy – Sandro – asked if he didn't want to live with them. He answered he did and why would he not want to. Jeronimo said they could have died. Felipa charged in to drag the boys out, telling Kenzo “Your little friend, that dressed up guy, dared to throw a drink in my face. We came here to have a good time and look how this ended.” He tried to stop her, saying nobody knew this was going to happen to Elvira. She started off despite his attempt to stop her, insinuating that dinner at his place would be with his friend who masquerades as a woman, calling Nandy an atrocity. Jeronimo caught this and tried to explain this but Felipa came back with another accusation to Kenzo of defending a stranger vs the mother of his children. He couldn't come up with a riposte so Jeronimo thanked him and left with Felipa and Sandro. Felipa gave a dirty look to Nandy as they departed.

Paz sniffed the cupcakes and detected nothing as Ginebra entered the kitchen. She flashed back to when Mauro arrived with the baby. She asked about Elvira and Paz said there was no news yet. Ginebra then took advantage of the situation to ask about Paz' lost baby. Paz told her that her baby had been stolen from the hospital and she had never held nor seen her. Ginebra said she was very sorry [Only we know that she wasn't] and asked if there were any suspects in the disappearance. Paz told her that there were not and she had no idea who the person was. She cried, saying that she hopes that all women who lost their children get them back; this destroys their souls. She told Ginebra that she hoped she would get her child back. Ginebra thanked her. Her expression throughout this did not change. [Why isn't Paz getting a seriously bad vibe?]

Esteban entered and asked Paz if anyone else had put the desserts in place. She said no; she had prepared them all. He told her that the doctor determined that Elvira had consumed a hallucinogen and that apart from the wine Elvira had eaten a dessert she had prepared. Ginebra excused herself and asked if she could see Elvira. Esteban consented and she left the kitchen. Paz said she would never do anything to risk her job, but Esteban asked if this was retaliation over the soup pot. She told him she had not revealed Elvira's role because she didn't want to have problems over this but he was concerned about whether any of his kids' friends had consumed any of the substance because of the consequences. She explained that she understood this and was looking for the answer. Mireya walked in, Esteban left, and Paz explained the issue. Mireya told her that Mauro was about to leave so they went out to plant the phone in Mauro's car.

Ginebra visited Elvira in her room just as she had told her nietos that they should not eat anything prepared by strangers. Ginebra buttered them up [for the slaughter, no doubt] with comments on how much they resembled their mother. Eder recognized her from the news report and she told him “yes, that was me and my Sam is almost your age. Maybe you could be best friends.” When they left the room she told Elvira she wished she had had a mother like her. Elvira flashed back to her father taking her first baby away from her, saying it should have never been born. She looked afraid, then managed a weak smile.

Mireya ran out after Mauro and flirted with him to distract him. The security man brought his car and she distracted him once more and put her phone in the back seat area of his car before he drove off. She ran back in for Paz and they hailed a cab which unfortunately was driven by Vermin. They got inside and Mireya caught the GPS signals from the phone she had placed. The two of them ran out with Nandy telling them to be careful. Salomón was there with her.

Nandy packed up food, telling the angry Esteban that Paz had to leave on an emergency, a matter of life and death. She said she was packing up the food for forensic analysis. He said that whoever was responsible will go to prison.

Paz told Vermin that they had to rescue a child and to hurry. The missing daughter of Sra Ginebra whose uncle is out to kill her. Vermin looked like he needed fresh underwear but managed to say this should remind her that he will put his life on the line for her. Esteban called Paz and she was now in deep shit over her job.

Nightfall.

Salomón and Gala talked in the garden. She wanted him to pose as her boyfriend to cover up that she had a thing for another guy. He finally agreed. [I have a bad vibe about this.]

Ginebra put a pillow behind Elvira's head. Elvira talked about “putting Paz in her place.” Elvira told Ginebra she reminded her of Berenice. Ginebra made some flattering comments about Berenice as Elvira flashed back to Fobo's suggestion that she get a DNA test to determine whether Ginebra was her stolen baby. Elvira said she did not know whether Berenice had been murdered or had committed suicide.

In the barrio Paz had Vermin follow Mauro's car. [He must now be losing control of his bowels.] He had to slow down in a narrow street, saying that this jerk had no heart if he is looking to get rid of his niece. He asked about Paz' plan. He would rather run than die. Paz said there was no going back. There was a brief argument about how to proceed.

Esteban send Eder to bed as he and Kenzo questioned the teens. Gala pointed out that only Elvira got sick and that she was the only one drinking wine; maybe she was drunk. Bosco disputed that, saying that Elvira knew how to drink and that the wine was very expensive. Kenzo said that no other guests were affected. Esteban told Bosco and Gala that the security tapes would be viewed and there would be consequences if any of their friends were responsible for any of this. Of course Bosco flashed back to his encounter with Pepa and accused him.

In the alley Mauro and the scary dude approached Gorila who threw Samara's original clothes on the ground at Mauro's feet and insisted upon seeing the dinero. Paz and Vermin watched from behind the corner building. Mauro offered triple the amount if Gorila took him to his niece. Gorila insisted upon seeing the money to make sure it wasn't counterfeit. The scary dude (Abdul) handed the bag over and grabbed Gorila who then called for the children. Eight or ten appeared carrying metal piping and the intent to harm. Paz and Vermin watched as Mauro demanded that Gorila bring his niece. He had Abdul release him and told him he'd get the rest of the money after delivering the child. He was determined to win this. Vermin and Paz split back to the cab to avoid being seen. He grabbed Paz' phone as Paz went on about how they needed to get the child before Mauro killed her. Gorila walked off with the money and the children ran. Mauro held Abdul back to prevent him chasing Gorila. Paz wanted to follow them to wherever they had the child. Mireya said it was too risky. Mauro checked his phone and saw that the car had been moved. Vermin caught up with the women and said he was looking for the car to retrieve Mireya's phone and to sabotage Mauro. After a brief disagreement over next steps they got into the cab and drove off. Mauro and Abdul found the car to discover that the tires were flat Mauro yelled at and slapped Abdul repeatedly, calling him useless.

Back at the Oliver Twist campsite it looked like there was some real food being handed out. Samara and Monito were not out there with the other children. She wondered if they were forgotten. He said they should leave and find somewhere else to live. They talked about hope of finding their parents. He had been deliberately abandoned near a supermarket and was certain his parents were not looking for him. She said she hoped to find her mother and that she would adopt him.

Ginebra prepared to leave and Esteban thanked her for her help. They briefly talked about the question of her employment in his company. She said something about Berenice and the possibility of him marrying again and he said that Berenice was his one and only love. “Some vacancies can't be filled.” A few polite comments later she left.

Lupita was worried about Paz and the others. Nandy told Paz that Esteban was angry. She and Paz got on Salomón's case about the shenanigans. He said he did it (but seemed sarcastic).

Ginebra looked at the GPS diagram on the laptop and asked the rhetorical question about whether the urchins knew all about Samara. “If they do we have to kill all of them. If you fail, the one beheaded will be you. Use Rubio, all of them as necessary and don't leave a trace.”

I must commend the writers for such attention to detail but since this tale is moving at lightning speed I wonder how many episodes it will have. It also seems to be original.

Ginebra could be a James Bond villain, she is that cruel and that evil. If she ever tried to rule the world... Well, I think Altair Jarabo must be having the time of her life in this role.

Juan Carlos Barreto is listed in the cast as Porfirio Villa de Cortes, but will he be Elvira's father or ex-husband? If he were her brother why isn't he running the company? Damn the confusing name system. P.S. He is a year younger than Azela Robinson.

Thank you Urban’s for the recap. While I do not speak Spanish, I can usually follow the main lines of the episode with the action of characters and Spanish caps. Last night I was lost. I did understand that Esteban was pointing the finger at Paz’s food ( cupcakes?), I also thought that the wine that E drank was the culprit and probably spiked by ? (Fill in the blank)!
As to what really was going on with the mad car/pink cab chase, Paz must know that Mauro is up to no good but how she knows ,no clue. Is G really serious that all the urchins will have to be destroyed if they are witnesses to Mauro’s killing of Sam.? The writers are not the first team writing the script for this episode (in my view). Thanks again.

Thanks, urban. 'm glad you provided the conversation between Bosco andSal because I didn't catch what they were saying.
If I were in Esteban's kids' shoes, I'd be creeped out by Ginevra. It's funny how people always assume the mention of your deceased parent is somehow supposed to make you see the other person more favourably.Maybe it does work for some. But here it creeped me out because Ginevra is a stranger.
I felt so sorry for Paz when she was like 'why don't you believe me' when Esteban said he'd send the food to be analysed. I can't decide if I want him to believe her or if I can accept he has to make sure the food was fine. She works for him after all. But I've seen so many mistrust in telenovelas recently that I'm sick of it.
Ginevra wants to get close to Esteban's kids. She can't pretend to like them because she couldn't convincingly pretend with Samara. How does she plan on convincing Esteban she loves them? He spends more time with them than her husband spent with Sam. Where have charming bad guys gone?

Thanks, Urban, I just finished watching so the timing of your recap was perfect for me. It was so obviously the wine I can’t think why they would even question the cupcakes. But I guess knowing the bad guys gives us a heads up. But I did not like the way Esteban talked to Paz. Not so long ago he was defending his decision to hire her. Now one word from Elvira and he seems ready to fire her.

Ginebra is evil times ten. She calmly says all the kids will have to be killed.

I almost felt sorry for Vermin. He must know they’ll kill him if they realize he was following them. He also needs to realize they might expect him to kill his own daughter. I wonder if he could.

Does Kenzie know Nandy is trans? His ex sure figured it out quickly.

Eventually Ginebra will find out it was her grandfather’s fault she grew up on the streets. I don’t think that will matter to her. I do wonder how she found out Elvira was her mother. I’m sure we’ll find out eventually.

Urban,

Your dialog translations are unparalleled. Your recap was exceptional.

You explained much that I missed, especially that Felipa knows Nandy is trans. “She started off despite his attempt to stop her, insinuating that dinner at his place would be with his friend who masquerades as a woman, calling Nandy an atrocity”. Interesting that “atrocity” was the exact same word Carmina kept using to describe Dulce in Vencer la Culpa. Despicable.

“Ginebra buttered them up [for the slaughter, no doubt]” was excellent.

I can understand Esteban is concerned about the possible poisoning but was disappointed in the somewhat accusatory way he spoke to Paz. From her defender to her accuser in one fell swoop.

I also had no idea Ginebra is now demanding the slaughter of innocents. She is as cold and hard as ice.

There is so much evil and subterfuge to process. I appreciate you and all of the recappers spelling out the evil so splendidly.

Diana

Paz overheard Mauro talking to someone about finding Samara and continued to eavesdrop. Why she isn't getting bad vibes that measure 7+ on the Richter scale near Ginebra I don't know.

The other day we heard about Ginebra's chemistry degree; we now know that the wine contained the hallucinogen. Nobody else drank any of it. If the broken bottle is still in the trash in the house a forensic lab can detect it, but I doubt that it's still there. This was only Episode 10.

If Elvira's father is still alive per my above theory I think Ginebra will put him on her Hit List. Elvira had no chance to be a bad mother to her; what sort of mother was she to Berenice? We still don't know how Ginebra knows that Elvira is her egg donor or if that would make any difference.

I don't know how much Kenzo really knows about Nandy or whether he had to fake knowing about this for the benefit of his shrewish ex. I don't always get every word so I could have missed something.

Thanks, Urban, for the excellent recap and your insightful comments.

My favorite scene: El Gorila with his changuitos ready to break Mauro’s legs if necessary.

Other thoughts:

Nandy didn’t do Paz any favors mixing it up with Felipa. Maybe Paz needs to rethink who from her family/friends are more liabilities than help.

I was disappointed how quickly Esteban took Elvira’s side that Paz must have poisoned her some how. Funny but I thought he had learned his lesson with that duplicitous old bat.

Mauro is in cray cray land slapping his go-fer Abdul. Really? Definitely twisted.

They need to limit Paz’s wailing time over Samara. It got annoying last night.

Ginebra remains the star of the novela hands down.

Thanks so much for the clever and witty recap, Urban! I was right with you on your asides, espcially "You're no Errol Flynn, chico."

Maybe I'm too old for teenaged angst. I would happily cut all of these teenagers out of the story, with the exception of Pepa. Gala seems delusional, with her crush on the snotty kid that she seems to only care about because of his multitude of followers. And I hereby echo Blue Lass's PLEASE DON'T LET HIM BE GAY concerning Bosco. Also sick of self-loathing gay characters.

Lupita, hang onto that money. I wonder if the plot where Rubio keeps extorting Lupita and her family for Vermin's debt will continue or if Rubio is now feeling on the gravy train being Ginebra's thug.

I think Salomon is on the road to redemption. I can see he and Gala really hitting it off while trying to make Internet Hero jealous. It actually seemed to work for a minute because Mr. Entitled didn't look happy about the kiss. Their having a relationship fits into the eternal telenovela romance theme between couples of different social classes falling for each other.

Yep, the wine did it. I was imagining something I'd seen in a movie long ago where a villain inserted a syringe into a bottle of wine through the cork, evading suspicion.

Esteban sure did a 180, didn't he. Friday he's defending Paz from Elvira and Bosco, and Monday he's harsh and judgmental. I also caught a whiff of controlling male when he couldn't imagine her having a personal issue stronger than sticking around for the epitaph to the party.

I felt like screaming when Vermin became the only cabbie in Mexico.

How much does Sam remember? She seemed to get something back a couple of episodes ago and last night mentioned her mother? I have no idea what happens next. If Paz is somehow able to lay hands on her, she'd just turn her over to Ginebra. I'm also a bit confused about why Gorila didn't turn over Sam when he got the bag of money. Of course, all these twists are to keep Sam alive for the HEA.

Urbab, thank you for a great recap of a disturbing , confusing episode .

I think that Juan Carlos Barreto is playing Esteban's father . They the characters have the same last name . In the intro, he walks up and hugs Paz's mother, so maybe there will be a romance.

Poor writing to have Esteban turn on a dime and believe his shrew of a suegra who hates him and accused him of killing his beloved wife. Where's my beanie? I am straining hard to suspend my disbelief. The romance between Esteban and Paz barely flickered , and now we know that Gin is going to pull out all the stops to seduce Esteban.

Liz, yes!!!! IT WAS THE WINE that shifty Gin presented to Elvira . Elvira didn't share it with anyone , and then it was conveniently broken.

Naturally , Vermin is driving the taxi that picks up Paz and Mir.

So, scary Felipa, knows Nandy is trans, but does Keno know ?

Can't wait to see how the story unfolds tonight .
Susan

Novelera, you are not alone in "I would happily cut all of these teenagers out of the story, with the exception of Pepa." or in "And I hereby echo Blue Lass's PLEASE DON'T LET HIM BE GAY concerning Bosco. Also sick of self-loathing gay characters." or in finally "I also caught a whiff of controlling male when he couldn't imagine her having a personal issue stronger than sticking around for the epitaph to the party."

As for Gorila not turning over Sam, I think he is going to milk Mauro for every single cent he can get out of him before turning her over if he ever does. I fear that approach could also be his undoing if he is not careful and he could end up dead.

Urban, "Paz overheard Mauro talking to someone about finding Samara and continued to eavesdrop. Why she isn't getting bad vibes that measure 7+ on the Richter scale near Ginebra I don't know." I was wondering about that, too.

Diana, "Interesting that “atrocity” was the exact same word Carmina kept using to describe Dulce in Vencer la Culpa. Despicable." Kind of makes you wonder if that is a popular term among a certain section of the public.

OOOOPs; I was wrong about Porfirio. JCB has played both good and evil and also looks incredibly natural in western clothes. Remember La Herencia? He looked like he belonged in the cast of Bonanza.

The prejudice against trans people is something I just don't understand. It's happening here too, which is a setback for the US.

As for Bosco, I think he's just a nasty little snob. I also agree that making him gay would not only feed an outdated cliche it would not benefit this story.

Thanks, Urban for this wonderful recap! I'm late to the party but I just watched the episode.

I join everyone else in being annoyed Esteban so easily accused Paz. Este was arrested for murder in front of Paz and she didn't question his innocence once, heck she brought him sandwiches in jail, and he doubts her the first chance he gets?? I understand being careful and even getting the food analyzed but you can do that without accusing someone of purposefully poisoning the food in retaliation of Elvira dropping a pot??? It was ridiculous and insulting!

But then you get to the end of the episode and see Paz and all the family gain up on Salomon and accusing him of the same act with absolutely no proof, and I feel less sorry for her!!! Geez people! Step one - assume the food isn't tainted, Step two - wait for the analysis to come back and Step three - IF and only IF the analysis does come back saying the food was tampered with THEN start to form theories of how/who could have done it!!! Sal seems like he has an attitude problem and I'm sure he's done his share of stuff, but to have the whole family automatically assume the worst of him at the slightest provocation is sad....

Especially since as many (both of the patio and in the show) have said, it was so obviously the wine!!!

Then you have poor Sam and the never-ending danger - I'm ready for this kid to get out of danger!!!

Not much to add, but didn't Kenzo say the world was changing and that people need to accept others, (in regards to Nandy) which makes me feel he does know she is trans. Other observations, yay the mud is off Sam's face finally. Also, was that broken glass outside Mauro's car so a window was broken by Vermin to regain the phone? I may rewatch this episode as I only read the subtitles on my phone for the last half so I wouldn't wake my husband who was away skiing for 16 days and arrived home 15 minutes after the episode started. Didn't think I should totally ignore him.

Thanks, Urban! Definitely worth waiting for.

I particularly loved your translation: “Keep biting me, nosey, and I'll break you more than your little sword.” I keep rereading it, and I crack up every time.

ITA with Susan, JCB should be Esteban's father. I wonder why he's barely mentioned him? Are they estranged?

Mauro made a big deal about opening the wine himself, so he probably didn't even need a syringe.

Emilio at the party was the bendy guy from the credits! So funny! He was the only one there who could dance, naturally.

I'm falling behind so I only now got to watch this. Thank you, Urban, some of your details helped me understand things I missed.

Paz will probably be the one to save Samara and she will keep her hidden from Ginebra to protect her from Mauro. Which is madness, since Paz doesn't believe Ginebra to be evil, why would she hurt her like that?

I really don't care for the teenagers either, never cared, they are filler most of the time.I don't get how everyone just knows that Nandy is trans, I would have never guessed had I not read the actress' story.

Esteban is starting to act like every other galan we've ever met. Careful, dude, we love Daniel Elbittar, but we've only just met you.

OT

The normal 8-11PM line-up did not air in NYC last night. Currently watching Vida and will check for Receta on Vix.

Can someone post a bullet-point recap for last night?

Here are the headlines:

* Homeless children's camp raided by fake cops with orders to kill! All children escape.

* Drunken gorilla found floating in muddy pond. Did he fall or was he pushed?

* Muddy nymphet and dog rescued by do-gooder taco chef. Injured urchin still at large.

Thanks, Blue Lass.

There was some awards program last night for Dominican music and we did not get any novelas after Vivir, but the episodes are now in the On Demand feature. I will watch and take my preliminary notes to post later but there may not be much dialogue so it won't take all day.

OT .....For some reason , I put on the HD channel instead of the regular Univision channel , and I saw all the tns. Very odd.

Blue Lass's headlines are great . On a happier note, Esteban danced a bit for his kids at the foot of those scary stairs.

There was a lot of yelling at the humble house . Everybody was yelling at Sal, especially his mother , who gets on my last nerve with her screaming . I know she is suppposed to be feisty , but she is...A lot. I don't know what they were yelling, but I do not like yelling . Then, Sal packed his bag and was leaving . I was surprised and pleased that both Mir and Pepa kept him from leaving , and then ...group hug.

P.s. The guy in white dancing down the street in the intro is Juan Osorio's son. He sings the theme song , and Juan always has him singing in his shows.

Susan

Susan, the yelling at Sal was because they are convinced he spiked the food even though he vehemently denies it. He resents his perfect brother Pepa whom he feels his mother loves the most, she says she loves both her sons equally.
Guy floating in mud hole was drowned by Mauro. He did manage to inflict a knife wound on Mauro before they fell into the pit.
Wonder where Mojilo disappeared to, he was injured by a bullet that peppered the bus he and Sam were kept in. What was the significance of the single sneaker on the walkway outside the bus?
Mauro returns to Ginebra's house and says Sam is dead. She shows no concern for her injured "brother" which upset him.
Did anyone else wonder how 8 to 10 fully armed assassins fit in the van. Felt like I was watching a clown car at a circus.

If anyone still needs more detail I am typing it out now. It can be up in about 90 minutes or so.
