RgvChick - thank you for the alert that some of the shows will begin earlier on Thursday night. That's my episode to recap and I'll set the DVR to record the show right before it, just in case Comcast didn't get the message.

VIVIR #9 Part 1

There were quite a few quick sequences interspersed throughout tonight’s episode, which I’ve tried to capture, adding the few bits of dialogue (I hope) I understood. If anything important was omitted kindly fill in and/or correct what I’ve gotten wrong.

Monica is red lipped fish mouthing off at JE as he and Cristina exchange exasperated looks.

Alma and Antonio are in the market, they have a flower booth. Blonde bombshell Wanda seems to be making comments about Rebeca and gets sprayed by a water bottle by Alma. Lupe stops by and talks about the fabrica. The Del Olmos are discussed and Antonio frowns.

Gi and Angel chatted.

Rebeca practices her vows to JE in a mirror as she fingers her sparkling sequined dress. Doris embarks on a monologue.

I believe Rebeca is plotting to make JE think that Angel is covering up for whoever killed Dulce.

Sebastian is back at work (understandably) having a hard time concentrating, indeed JE is very sympathetic.

Monica greets Don Emilino who is not happy to see her. She is talking up Misael, Don Emilio getting very upset saying “no, no, no” reiterating time and again he prefers JE for the presidency. He is served sherbet and cookies and Monica reams the maid up and down, saying he is diabetic. She asks where Cristina is and is told she is at the office.

JE decides he and Angel need a change of scenery and picks her up and carries her off…

Adolfo visits Cristina with a folder and as they start to talk, Monica having broken speed records to get there on her electric broom, bursts in. She has the unmitigated gaul to speak badly about Dulce and Cristina fiercely slaps her telling her not to speak that way about her daughter!

Under sunny skies, under a beautiful waterfall with crystal blue water, Angel and JE pledge their love and kiss. As they vow to be together forever, viewerville shake our collective heads knowing full well that is surely the kiss of death.

Rebeca is at the maître d’ station at the restaurant when JE enters; She says something about Angel (which I didn’t understand) that he doesn’t appear to take kindly to.

VIVIR #9 Part 2 of 2

Rebeca has a hot date with Misael. Misael has barely had time to taste his wine when Rebeca starts removing his clothing. After what I assume was a torrid night together, he looks suitably smitten telling her she is special. She sort of smiles as though she wants him to tell her something she doesn’t know.

Cristina walks into Angel’s room and overhears her talking to Santiago about the money and faints dead away.

Alma knocks over a box and finds newspaper clippings of Frida’s abduction.

One of the men at JE’s office (does anyone know his name?) brings Doris to his apartment which has flowers strewn all over the floor.

Whoever Gi was waiting for with a candlelit table laden with food sends her a text he cannot make it.

Lupe and Lucas have a few words. Brian wants Lucas to do something and he agrees.

Mati is petting a beautiful horse when Luciano arrives. She starts in about her mother asking if they will get back together. Luciano says no. Mati persists, asking if it is another woman and he replies, yes, there is. He says he has someone who is very important to him. And my mother Mati asks/? He rides off as Mati looks shaken.

The family gathers except for Don Emilio who is at home. If I understood correctly, it seems the housekeeper tells him Misael is going to be chosen for the presidency. Clearly agitated he screams NO! She encourages him to be calm. He takes a deep breath and asks her to call JE but it goes right to voicemail.

Renato tells Angel something about Rebeca and that her family owns a florist stand.

Alma confronts Rebeca with one of the clippings. Just then, Angel and Renato show up. Rebeca introduces her “mami” and Alma shakes both of their hands smiling broadly. Angel loves the flowers which she is buying for the restaurant. Angel gave Alma her card and after they leave, Rebeca treats Alma nastily.

The meeting commences and Monica makes her case for Misael but JE stops her in her tracks. He declares Misael will not be president!!

Wearing a resolute look, Don Emilio sets off in his wheelchair…

At the meeting, Fatima runs in followed awkwardly by Romina. The lawyer/leader starts reading a declaration from Don Emilio. It is his decision that JE is declared president. Misael is furious but Fatima defends JE saying it is her grandfather’s decision but her brothers!

DE is still on his journey obviously lost and confused. A group of sweet schoolchildren try and help him. A sweet little girl urges him, “vamos, vamos” as he mentions JE.

The meeting is interrupted and the participants notified that Don Emilio has gone missing!

VIDA Ep. 35 Part 1

So Paula and Pepe are just about to kiss when they are interrupted by a shouting La China who has brought Teo. They panic because Teo shouldn’t see Paula there, so Pepe hides Paula in his room. Teo asks why he wouldn’t open the door.

Lor apologizes for sharing something so personal. Isabela is sorry Paula is going through something so serious. Isabela tells Lor that Paula needs him to be strong. Lor again pleads that Isabela tell Rafa that he is his son because Lor feels that life is giving him a second chance.

Rafa has a a brain! He doesn’t buy MAL’s little act at all. She tries to convince him but he scoffs that she has always told him that he doesn’t love him…and wonders if he is just her consolation prize.

Gracia is very uncomfortable dancing with Marcos…until Alex gives her a nod of approval.

Andrea wants Lucia to tell her everything about Emi. Lucia worries that Emi is Lor’s grandson and her grandmother hates Lor…and her father and Emi’s mother don’t get along. Lucia worries how everyone will react to her relationship with Emi. Andrea then tells her that Pepe and Paula like each other.

LaChina knows more sign language that Mal. She tells Pepe that Teo is hopeful that he and Mal will make amends. Teo then tells Pepe that he doesn’t want Pepe and Mal to be fighting anymore. Pepe tells him to go with LaChina and he will meet them at the restaurant. After they leave, Paula comes out.

Isabela tells Lor that her family is going through a bad time, telling Rafa would destroy her family. Lor then tells Isabela that he knows what’s going on with her sons…he knows that MAL’s baby is not Pepe’s…he knows Rafa is the father.

Mal continues to try to convince Rafa to give them a chance, but Rafa refuses to be her “Pepe.” After he leaves, Mal hisses that he will fall (into her web).

Andrea can’t believe her father and Paula like each other. When Emi came back, everything was wonderful but now she is thinking that being with Emilio could hurt the family. Andrea then confesses that it was she who told Pepe about Mal and Rafa. Lucia gets very upset and tells Andrea that she’s always meddling because she has nothing else to do!

Lor tells Isabela that it was Rafa who told him about the baby. As they talk, Suzy runs in and tells Lor that they are waiting for him to have dessert. Before Isabela leaves, Lor asks her to be discreet about what he has told her.

The kids come in and Emi comments about how close each one is getting to members of the Castillo family. When he adds that he is crazy about Lucia, Rol criticizes him for breaking up with Renata to be with someone he just met. When Rol adds that Emi needs to listen to him because he is his father, Emilio quickly argues that Rol is NOT his father…and Rol can’t be telling Suzy or him who they can see! When he adds that Rol may have married his mother but that is as far as that goes, Lor thinks Emi is right and asks Rol to let him talk to his grandsons…alone. Diego points out that he told them Rol would change and Suzy comments that her godfather is always angry and she doesn’t like that.

At the restaurant, Gracia explains to Pepe why she had to keep quiet…she knows she messed up. Pepe forgives her and tells her, with a big smile, that he was with Paula!

Lor is about to have his talk with the kids when Paula arrives. She is thrilled to see Emi!!

Back at the restaurant, Pepe tells Gracia everything that happened with Paula. As he loudly tells her that he is completely in love with Paula, Mal approaches and sarcastically claps.

 

VIDA Ep 35 Part 2

Alone in the bedroom, Rol questions where Paula was all day long. Paula admits that she was with Pepe. Rol steams...

Mal is about to start in on Pepe, but Gracia intervenes. Pepe tells Gracia that he will handle the situation. He admits to Mal that he is in love with Paula whom he gave up so that they could try to save their marriage. Teo arrives and asks if they aren’t angry with each other any more and wonders if Mal will come home again.

Rol and Paula are arguing when Suzy comes in asking Paula to read her a bedtime story. Paula asks if Suzy wants to sleep with her and asks Rol to sleep in the guest room (teeheehee).

Once at home, Mal explains to Teo that she and Pepe tried to make amends because they love him, butbshe made some serious mistakes. The time has comes when she realized that she has lost Pepe forever. When Teo asks about the baby, Mal assures him that the baby is fine…and Teo will meet him soon. She promises that she and the baby will be close to him.

Squeaky Suzy squeals—after the story, Paula notices that Suzy is sad, so Suzy tells her that her godfather didn’t allow her to go play with Teo…and he yelled at her! Paula assured that she will talk to Rol.

Gracia tells Marcos that she never agreed to go on a date with him. Marcos knows but argues that they haven’t gone out…they are just there. And he wants to make her dreams come true. He is putting his heart at her feet.

Next day—

Pepe gets his new bed. His knee miraculously heeled and he jumps in his new bed.

Paula questions Rol about yelling at Suzy but he denies it.

Rafa goes to talk to Alex and tells him he can’t stand the way things are with Pepe who will never forgive him and is ignoring him. Alex assures that Pepe doesn’t hate him. Rafa wants to go away he needs to make some money so he can support the baby, He tells Alex that Lor offered him a job at his company. Alex of course has a fit, so Rafa asks if he can go with Alex to Spain.

Rol tells Paula that Suzy must have misinterpreted what he said. He then adds that he doesn’t want Suzy to be friends with Teo because he doesn’t want Paula to have an excuse to meet up with Pepe. Paula then tells Rol that Suzy and Teo will be going to the same school. Rol argues that Suzy should go to her former, very prestigious, school. After Rol leaves, Paula is looking at her to-do book when the doc calls and tells Paula about a new treatment, proton therapy. Paula opts to try an alternative method because the doc can't guarantee that the treatment will save her.

Isabela goes to see Lor. She has already made a decision.

Paula is undergoing some type of alternative treatment when Suzy comes into her bedroom and asks what they are doing to her.

Rol goes to see Mal who tells him that her marriage is over…and there is no way to fix it. After Rol asks if Mal is going to do nothing to stop Pepe, Mal tells him that she will not allow any woman to have Pepe…it he is not for her, he will be for no one!

Rgv Chick, I enjoyed every single word of your marvelous summary. A few rays of hope shone brightly.

"Rafa has a a brain!" Will wonders never cease? I was afraid he'd fall for the first little crook of MAL's finger but he didn't cave and seemed rather resolute. As we know Rafa's ex is going to come into the picture (whatever is taking her SO long), we suspect he won't be leaving for Spain with Alex.

What is Mal going to do now that Option #2 is DOA?? Other than try and make Pepe's life more of a living hell of course :)

"Squeaky Suzy squeals" bless her heart. Children are so perceptive. After waiting all those years for Paula, making a huge show of caring for the children, Rol is burning every bridge he had with lightning speed.

"Gracia is very uncomfortable dancing with Marcos…until Alex gives her a nod of approval". Hmmm, I was giving Marcos no chance...I have thought from the beginning Gracia and Alex will end up together and I'm stubbornly standing by that.

I loved the scene where Pepe was bouncing on his bed, savoring every second.

Here's hoping the aternative treatment is successful. Health and happiness sound so good together, don't they??!!

Diana, thank you yet again for another of your delicious and nutritious recaps!

I think that the only thing I can add is that near the end of the meeting, after the presiding official or lawyer said that don Emilio had already officially instructed that Jose Emilio is to become head of the business so it's already settled, someone, Monica I think, argued that they needed to make sure the signature was actually don Emilio's.
[Sorry for the overly long sentence. Bad Andy!]

So things will be held up a little bit while the signature is verified.

Hopefully don Emilio will be found very soon anyway. Those little girls to the rescue!

I am watching but finding Gaby Spanic intolerable (not for the first time).

We got another glimpse of how nice Angelli is. I think she was just walking through the market with Renato, the chef, when she happened upon Alma's flower stand. I think she may have offered to buy flowers from her for the restaurant, maybe an ongoing deal.

Well, Iker works at Don Emilio's company, along with Sebastian, the recent widower. It seems he's setting up Rebeca's greedy friend in an nice apartment. We see his poor wife of 10 years, having prepared an anniversary dinner for him. He does call to say he doesn't know when he'll be home but seems to have forgotten the anniversary.

And I'm not thrilled about Sebastian's daughter. Or, I suppose it's partially his own fault. The brat keeps blaming him for the family breakup. I think, at this point, I'd tell her that mamí walked out on the three of them. She insisted he say if there's another woman. The dummy said yes. He should have just said no. He knows Fatima still seems engaged to Bruno. Now he gets more of the blame.

I don't know about this one. The writing is pretty bad. Maybe I could FF>> through Spanic, but a lot of these people are seriously annoying.

I was surprised Lucia got so upset. Did she think it would be better if her father was kept in the dark? What kind of family can you maintain if it's all based on lies? I mean, what good does it do to keep a secret from Pepe? Andrea at least did something. Both Lucia and Isabela prefer not to rock the boat and keep things as they are. It's a bit odd to me Lucia didn't want to reveal the truth because she knows what Malena is like so having her nearwouldn't have made even Teo happier in the long run.Is it because Mal is her mother that she was willing to go along? I can't remember. But I was wondering if she wasn't sort of willing to suffer just because the alternative was to do something that would have had consequences she wouldn't have been able to measure.
Rolando can't keep his mouth shut. It always baffles me when bad characters don't seem to have the ability to pretend even for a bit, not even when it's in their best interest to do so.
If Paula doesn't want that other treatment, are they going to make the alternative treatment work? When I heard she refused, all I could think was some interview with a doctor I saw where he said by the time people had finished trying all those alternative treatments and come to seek help, it's too late.
Rolando saying he is Emiliano's father was too much. I thought I misheard what he said. Natalia will finish him off if he is this stupid.
Paula got herself into a big mess and now won't get out of it. But what she will do once she realises what Rolando is like?
Lorenzo's comment about getting a second chance wasn't my favourite. I find it an odd attitude in general. Another child isn't some kind of new leaf where you get to right all the things you did wrong with the first one. Do parents actually think like this?

Muchas gracias Diana, for another fantastic recap! There was a lot going on indeed! Those group of children helping DE was cute, but also scary given the circumstances! It was hard seeing that poor man lost and confused.

When Lupe and Alma were talking in the market, Lupe referred to Alma as 'tia' so we have another connection between Refrida's real family and the one who raised her. Angel is working with Alma's niece, Lupe at the co-op factory.

The man in JE's office is Iker, he is also the husband that Gi was waiting on in vain, and the man that was bringing Doris to the fancy new 'mistress' apartment he's giving her. Doris's monolog to Refrida earlier was about how it's better to be the 'other woman' and get jewelry and $$$, than to marry some guy and end up his cook and maid while you're raising his kids!

When JE went to the restaurant and was talking to Refrida, she brought up the 'stolen kiss' and said she didn't know what came over her and she hopes he knows that she doesn't go around stealing kisses from everyone. She asked him to please not tell Angel about it. He said the kiss meant less than nothing to him and to please excuse him so that he could go see Angel who was waiting for him.

Lucas was asking Lupe for a new game console so he could connect and talk with his best friend Mati. Lupe just plain can't afford it so the gang dude offered to hook him up since he's part of the gang. This no doubt draws him further in since he'll 'owe' him now.

When Alma found the clippings of Refrida's kidnapping, she immediately knew what they signified. So even though Rebeca's dad had previously said he never told Alma about his suspicions of who Rebeca really was, it's obvious she knew or at least suspected herself. I may be in the minority, but I still have 0 compassion for these people. They aren't Rebeca's parents, they are criminals who kidnapped a child and kept her from her family for years. I don't like Rebeca's nastiness, because she's just too nasty; but I'm not mad at her for being mad at them. She doesn't owe them anything!

After Rebeca slept with Misael, she told Doris that she had decided that he is probably the better match for her anyway - she thinks he's going to become president - so she is, for now anyway, interested in being with Misael but she still wants to ruin JE and Angel's relationship just because she's a mean nasty person.

I rolled my eyes at Don Emillo's lamentations of Misael getting named president. I get it, but his reaction was too dramatic. It was a meeting to name him president of a company and they could just as easily have another meeting to oust him!!! He reacted as if they were about to declare Misael King of the Universe or something!

Two clarifications:

Luciano did tell Mati there was another woman, but he said the other woman was her - Mati - and then said something about how he has to do what's best for Mati since she's his number one priority. So, although Mati does know and is upset about dad not wanting to take mommy back, she doesn't actually know that Luciano is interested in another woman.

When Monica confronted Cristina in the office, she actually was badmouthing Cristina, not Dulce. She suggested the Cristina was using the death of Dulce as an excuse to get closer to her husband!! And then Cristina slapped her - not hard enough - and said to keep Dulce out of it. It was a low blow and unfair, also when the maid told Monica that Cristina was at the office, Monica says to herself 'no wonder he's so intent on being at the office now' so she knows it's her husband chasing Cris and not the other way around, even if she's unwilling to admit it.

Thank you for explaining Monica's crummy excuse that she wanted to ensure the signature was Don Emilio's. He has already told her he wants JE in no uncertain terms!

Watching Don Emilio wandering the streets, so lost and confused, really tugged at my heartstings. Thank heavens for those children, especially that sweet little girl...

It was such a relief to see Pepe smiling so much...FINALLY! It sure beats watching him grimace and hyperventilate!

How smart of DE to change his testament right before he went to confront Misael! I truly enjoyed watching Monica's and Misael's reaction..at least for the few moments before Monica started with her accusations that JE sweet-talked DE into naming him president and asking that DE's signature be verified. Monica and Cristina are so different! Makes me wonder if they are really sisters.

Oh and I have a question. When Rebecca asked Misael if he still lived with his parents, he clarified that he lived with his mother. So are Monica and Adolfo separated or divorced? I sure wouldn't blame Adolfo!

Thanks so much, Diana, great recap. And thanks to all who added more info. I’m having trouble getting a handle on all these minor people. I had to idea that Rebeca’s friend was being set up in an apartment by someone from the company.

Poor Don Emilio, that was heartbreaking. I thought he would have a driver on hand, but that would make it too easy! Hopefully the kids can help.

Monica with her sneer and Misael with his smirk are hard to take. Not sure why her husband has stuck around.

Yes, JE and Angel declaring their forever love is a red flag. I figured once Santiago was arrested the romance would end but Rebeca will spin her story and end it sooner.

I was surprised Renato seemed to be telling Angel(or was it Cristina)something about Rebeca. I thought he and Rebeca had a pact because she had something on him.

Like recognizes like, and Refrida and Misael tumble into bed. I enjoyed seeing Misael with his hair down . Whenever I see that annoying lock of hair on his forehead , I have to brush back my own hair.

Wow, we have another toxic pairing ...Player one Iker ushering Player two Doris into their new love nest while his wife sits alone at the lovely dinner table.

Poor Don Emilio lost out on the street. I hope the little girl can help him .

So far Angel is an angel , but knowing Kim , I have trouble seeing her in this new, sweet light.

Thanks so much Rgv Chick. What a great recap. I see Rol getting more and more unpopular with the family. Why would you get on someone(especially if you consider yourself the father)for breaking up with your girlfriend when you’re teenagers! And none of us like the girl!

I was surprised that MAL told Teo that she made mistakes but they both love him. I was sure she’d place blame on Pepe.

I thought Paula had declined the alternate treatment. I was trying to think when she had it with Suzy walking in. I thought she had an ice pack on her head for a headache, didn’t realize that was a treatment. I don’t see how it’s going to work!

MAL quickly reverted to her old self when declaring if she can’t have Pepe no one would. She can be scary.

I liked when someone thought Rosa was Paula’s mother. There was genuine affection between them. How on earth is Nat her daughter!

Rol, Nat and MAL are the bad guys. I can handle a show when there’s only a few and they’re outnumbered by the bad guys.

Good stuff, Diana.

I think the demand for the graphologist is a way to create doubt and buy time . Monica is just stupid enough to not see that Misael will act only in his own self-interest and wreck the business. Who cares what they make? Half the time we don't find out anyway, but knowing how these stories go the family business will be on the edge of bankruptcy before JE and Cristina save it.

Novelera, I also find GS intolerable. I bailed on Tierra de Pasiones because of her and despite Saul Lizaso. When she was at the Telemudo upfront around that time her dress was as slutty as it got. I need to start getting photos for the next edition of Crimes of Fashion. The lipstick is so overdone I wonder if this is influencing her mouth movements while she's talking.

If Don Emilio is diabetic any competent cook can learn to make sherbert and cookies with stevia or Spelenda. Monica was being deliberately cruel to punish him for favoring JE.

Someone get Adolfo a good divorce lawyer.

RGV chick, Misael said something to the tune of his father never being home, IIRC. I don’t Adolfo literally doesn’t live there, he just tries to never be there, I wonder why! Lol

Since Pepe was treated in a clinic for the knee shouldn't they have issued him crutches or at least a cane?

The fact that MALena barely knows any sign language says it all. Teo should not reach Diego's age before realizing that she doesn't love him. She can't fake that any longer than Rolando can fake caring about Paula's kids. I really hate that anyone buys the idea that staying together "for the sake of the children" should always be the default action. Serenity now!

As annoying as I find Suzy's chipmunk voice I knew we could count on her to rat Rolando out over his cruelty and control issues... and less than 24 hours after the wedding. She also knew that her brothers and their abuelo had her back. All we need now is for one of the boys to record the next incident.

Rolando is obviously looking to isolate Paula. He has also revealed himself to be a snob. I'm surprised Paula never saw that.

Waterlily, I agree with your entire post. A family can't be held together with lies and hypocrisies. Pepe needs a good divorce lawyer and to have that lawyer know that he isn't the father of MALena's baby. Lucia needs to wake up to the potential repercussions of keeping the other paternity secret. I somehow don't think Alex will.

It was interesting to see Rolando's face when he got pushback from Emiliano. He looked a bit surprised.

Rolando probably doesn't like anyone who is not of his "class" and that's a lot why he is upset that Emi broke up with Renata and has taken up with Lucía.

Malena is scary. Whenever someone says "If I can't have him/her, then nobody can", it won't end well.

- Paula is a fool to look to alternative treatment. She might as well wear garlic around her neck. And the clock is ticking away. Caray!
- Paula's doctor did her a disservice by not telling her the Proton radiation therapy is more accurate with less collateral damage, and side effects would be reduced because of that.
Where is my telenovela beanie hat??? It's time to start wearing it.

That whole Gracia/Marcos scene was just. plain. weird.

I got the impression Renato was trying to alert Angel about Refrida. Renato said he had something to tell, then next they're at the flower stand, then leaving Angel says something like on the contrary she admires Refrida's effort at upward mobility. Looks like Renato's plan to hurt Refrida backfired.

I think the little girl who's helping Don Emilio said they'd take him to the open market. I sure hope Refrida isn't the one to find Don Emilio.

Luciano's wife/Misael's assistant was trying to prevent Fatima from entering the board room (for one less vote for JE?). She gave Misael an apologetic look.

VIVIR #10 Part 1

We open at the fabrica, Lupita is getting everyone riled up. Everyone needs to make sacrifices she urges. Heated discussions follow and then rallying cries ensue.

Don Emilio is wandering through the market and Lily, the sweet little girl, helpfully points out a multicolored yoyo. What is your favorite she asks as Don shows us his mad yoyo skillz. He asks the vendor for help, but he doesn’t know his family.

Monica argues with Adolfo but I don’t think she is conceding anything anytime soon. Misael seems to be digging his heels in.

Angel is talking to Carmelo in the marketplace and runs straight into Don Emilio; she is shocked to see him. Antonio is eating a sammie in the background taking it all in.

Pervert Bruno is with Sandra but she wisely runs off. He takes a white flower out of a vase and shreds it.

Fatima tells her mother she isn’t getting married and Cris’ face falls. Fatima urges Cristina to be calm and Cris smiles. She explains marrying Bruno is not for her (thank God the patio murmurs). Fatima smiles recalling her kiss with Luciano; we later see him reminiscing about their besos as well.

Bruno warns Luciano off about Fatima but Luciano doesn’t look in the least bit intimidated. Fatima is mine he snarls as Leandro mocks him. Bruno later calls and beyotches to Misael about JE. Misael reminds Bruno that Dulce being shot was an accident.

Angel and Don Emilo are now joined by JE as they have a snack in the marketplace. Lily tells Angel JE is guapo.

Lucas’ father is sweeping the marketplace floor and Lucas gives him a hand.

Doris and Rebeca are snacking when Misael calls. Rebeca ignores him. Popcorn and shots…

Iker is looking at pics of Doris on his phone and grinning lasciviously. Gi comes in looking beautiful in a rose-colored dress with a huge bow on her shoulder. He pulls out a red velvet jewelry box (scum). It is a diamond ring which he places on her finger. She looks at him adoringly and they leave.

Bruno is on the phone telling Angel she is his intended; she begs to differ. He seems to be more embarrassed about looking like an imbecile in front of his family (which of course is exactly who he is!) Luciano walks up behind him. Turning around Bruno is angry thinking he intentionally eavesdropped. Brono continues to threaten as Luciano smirks. Mati watches from the top of the stairs.

Music plays as Mati talks with Lucas.

VIVIR #10 Part 2 of 2

Sebastian seems up to his eyeballs in work.. He pours himself a coffee and sees a vision of Dulce in a beautiful long white dress. She wanders toward him with a beatific smile on her face. “Hola mi amor” she says gently caressing his face. She steps back and walks away, leaving him speechless and decimated. He drops his coffee cup and has a meltdown throwing everything off his desk. JE comes by to comfort him..

Angel calls Santiago about the money but of course he doesn’t answer and she leaves him a message.

Santiago does call Elena and Angel walks in and asks for the phone. He asks about the money transfer but it hasn’t gone through. Elena asks if everything is all right. Angel does not tell her anything but hugs her looking very worried.

Monica, Misael and Adolfo have dinner. Adolfo isn’t interested in anything she has to say and leaves in disgust. Santiago calls Misael and he leaves the table. He questions him about the transfer and threatens to come home if the money isn’t transferred. Monica is right there and tells him there isn’t one peso for Santiago.

JE wants to marry Angel as quickly as possible; he wants to be by her side always. You are loco she smiles and many besos are exchanged as the couple radiates love. “Te amo” they promise.

Mati and Javier are in the woods and Mati loses her cell signal. They forge ahead and we see a quick flash of fur and see a gray wolf!!

Leandro is looking for his children and runs into Angel and they set out to find them. We learn Sandy’s father is Domingo.

JE and Angel look at love nests (we do see it has a balcony high amidst the trees which looks beautiful).

Rebeca and Misael have a conversation which I could not follow. She seems to be discouraging him (different social classes?) Whatever, he says he likes her and does not seem deterred.

Alma is crying looking at pictures when Antonio comes home He leans over her and caresses her shoulders. Alma believes Rebeca wants her family and won’t return.

Monica goes to Octavio, asking quite a few questions.

Angel and JE effuse about their plans to Elena. Rebeca shows up and congratulates them, reeling when she hears they have moved up the date (I think).

Fatima and Luciano are walking in the woods calling for the children when they spy the wolf!! I keep thinking wouldn’t it be better to DRIVE to look for them?? Bruno comes by but Domingo warns him off. Fatima sprays something in the direction of the wolf (breath spray perhaps 😊) and as she and the children run to the car, we see Luciano getting attacked by the wolf!

In the last scene of the evening, Rebeca holds a picture of her rival, steaming and snarling. She gets on the computer. She types something out to the effect that Santiago is the murderer of your sister and his accomplice is his sister Angel!

Diana, thanks for this recap that helped me out a great deal. By now I should at least know who the major characters are, but I tend to get lost at times.

Yeah, this is the hard part of the women running the cooperativo. I believe Lupita said they wouldn't get paid for a while, and a lot protested that they needed the money to pay their bills. But they have to pay their suppliers or they can't make any product. It's going to be rough for them.

This market where don Emilio wound up with Lily reminds me of the "only restaurant in Mexico City" of other novelas. Everybody winds up there. It was nice to see Antonio having a bite. I hope they get Lily back home safely; this novela started with the kidnapping of a child.

"Misael reminds Bruno that Dulce being shot was an accident." Yeah, Bruno is really tired of Luciano, he suggested to Misael that maybe something could happen to him.

So Lucas' father works at the mercado too; it seems to be the place to be. I think that the young romance of Mati and Lucas is fun, I just worry that Bryan's gang is going to eventually cause Lucas some grief.

This struck me as somewhat hokey at first, but I personally know people who have lost spouses and then "see" them in various places, and truly truly believe she was there, perhaps keeping a protective eye out for him. Probably true for women as well, but I just know more men.

The Rebeca/Misael conversation was interesting. I didn't understand it all, but she did say they were from different social classes, and he didn't seem to mind. They both surprised me. But Rebeca still wants to marry JE to spite Angel? Life in a novela is never easy.

I feel bad for Antonio and Alma. They didn't do the right thing with Rebeca, but poor Alma was a total basket case when they found Rebeca. What's a husband to do when the wife he loves is close to a breakdown or worse? I hope they find some more happiness later in the story.

That big bad wolf looked like he wanted a piece of Luciano for lunch. Too bad Rgv Chick, defender of chickens, wasn't there with her gun. Wolf would have taken one look and run for the hills.

VIDA #36 “Hijo Valioso” (though I’m not sure which hijo they’re talking about) Part 1/3

This recap is somewhat incomplete. I was really tired last night when I watched and took notes and some of the convos I could not understand. Porfis, fill in and correct any errors. This is not in 100% chronological order, as I try to group storylines.

ROLANDO & MALENA – Rol encouraged Mal to fight for Pepe. She says nopis, they’re over. Done. Finished. When Rol suggests she manipulate him with her pregnancy, she tells him the baby isn’t Pepe’s. Rol has cara de impactada. Then he seems giddy that Mal was unfaithful to St. Pepe.
Later, Rolando tells Malena that Rafa is Lorenzo’s son. She now has new ammunition!

PAULA is trying Terpia con imanes. Magnets therapy. (Okaaaaay, let's see how that works out for you) Susy comes into her room and I think Paula said it is for overall good health. Whatever.

RAFA & ALEX – Rafa wants to know if he can go to Spain with Alex, that he’d rather do that than work for Lorenzo. Alex says he canceled his trip because Rafa needs him, and he won’t leave him. Spain can wait.

LORISA – Isa tells Lor that she can’t tell Rafa that Lor is his father. Isa gives the standard telenovela trope line of all mothers in telenovelalandia: ‘I am his mother, and because I birthed him, therefore I know what’s best for him.’ Lorando tries to convince Isa that she still loves him. He sees it in her eyes. She is La mujer de su vida. Isa asks--- what is really important to him? His son (Rafa) or her? He says nothing would make him happier than have them both. Then Lor asks her if she feels anything for him but Isa simply leaves with no answer. (stay tuned for more later)

THE FOOD TRUCK has now been re-branded to NotCo and only sells plant based food. Even the truck has a new exterior. Probably some of Paula’s new holistic cancer fighting strategy, which isn’t bad, but I won’t be shopping there. She tells Pepe (who is there supervising teo) she thinks it will complement the Castillo family’s offerings. Hmmm….
- - Anyway, she’s there to supervise Teo & Susy’s playdate, and then Rol and MAL crash that party. Rol asks Pepe for a word while the two women are left at the truck to duke it out.
 

VIDA #36 Part 2/2

PEPE & ROLANDO – Rol talks to Pepe, who asks what Rol was talking about with Mal. Rol tells Pepe that Paula is now his wife, Pepe lost the battle, and to leave. her. alone. More of the same old convo Pepe says that Paula might have married Rol but she loves him, Pepe. Rolando asks Pepe if he wants to be that guy who is involved with a married woman. He also let’s Pepe know that HE knows about Malafa and *their* baby. Pepe tells Rol to stay out of his life. (good luck with that). More of the same and then Rolando drops his bomb: He told Mal that Rafa is the son of Lorenzo.


BACK AT THE FOOD TRUCK, Malena tells Paula that she fails to see what Pepe sees in Paula. Mal flings some insults and we have Mal just being Mal, saying Mal things to Paula.
Once alone, Mal is rubbing her abdomen and telling her fetus that, hey, they won the lottery because it turns out his father is the son of a millionaire.

When Rol comes back to the truck after his antler-bashing event with Pep, Rol lets Paula know he isn’t happy about Teo & Susy’s playdate. Rol then goes on to sternly correct Susy’s behavior (which didn’t really need correcting…she’s a kid) in front of Paula. Oops, looks like the newlyweds’ parenting styles are clashing.

Rolando leaves and Pepe approaches to tell Paula he needs her to leave. (I’m not sure if he meant the playdate, the town, or his life. Maybe ‘D’, all of the above) They discuss the talk Rol and Pepe had inside the house.

Pepe begs her to leave and says Rol is a guy he needs to be careful around. (Astute observation, Pepe. Watch your back with that guy because he finally killed the last man that got between him and Paula)
Paula says Rolando isn’t the boss of her and she doesn’t have to obey him. Pepe says life is too short (and we see Paula’s eyes widen) and he doesn’t need this type of trouble (from Rol). And Paula wants to have her cake and eat it, so she doesn’t like that comment.

EMILIANO - Diego shows Emi a video on social media that Renata posted and I’m not sure what it was all about (the video) because I couldn’t really understand what Reni was screeching about. Looks like maybe she was mugged or kidnapped??? IDK Diego infers this is Emi’s fault because he ditched her at the airport and now Emi feels responsible. He calls the hotel at their destination to see if she ever checked in, speaking English to the hotel, because being bi-lingual helps and this might be a subtle PSA for such.

NO she did NOT check in, so he starts to freak out. He’s frantic because Reni isn’t answering her phone. He tells Diego he feels a certain loyalty to Reni; she was there for him during some of his hardest times and he has to reciprocate and help her. One of the screeching videos has her chugging an airplane-size mini of booze. (and I still can’t understand what she is saying and don’t care)

OH! WAIT! WHAT? Reni never left the country!!! Natalia has been coaching her on making these videos and they toast to their success. Nat is ipressed with Reni’s acting. This is all Nat’s plan and she is sure it will workReni shows an ounce of character when she tells Nat that she feels bad about making these false videos. Nat, bless her heart, tells her it will al lbe worth it. . This recapper thinks they should name their production company #SkanksRUs.

EMILIANO goes to Lucía’s house. She is applying for college and tells Emi she’ll be the first person from her family to ever go to college. He tells her about the Reni video. Lucía asks him why he doesn’t go look for Reni. He feels guilty about ditching her at the airport. Lucía is supportive of his quest to find Rení.

ROSA AND GRACIA – Rosa assures Gracia that she can’t hide from her and ... calls her “hermana”(!) Gracia says it’s hard to see her gain, especially after what she did to Rosa. (!!!) The Patio is intrigued. Gracia asks Rosa for forgiveness. Rosa says there is nothing to forgive and calls her “hermana” again.

ISABELA arrives at the restaurant in a distracted state of mind. Gracía knows who she is distracted about and calls her on it. Isa admits to Gracia that ‘she feels things she wants to deny’ for Lorenzo; she can’t avoid what she feels for Lorenzo. Alex walks up about that time and overhears it all and tells her so, that she doesn’t have to lie to him anymore. He storms off, saying don’t try to explain to him what can’t be explained.

BACK AT CASA LUGO – Paula tells Rolando that she is hopelessly in love with Pepe and she loves him with all her heart and soul. She stupidly thinks they can talk this out and wants to put Rolando in the Friend Zone. He reminds her they are husband and wife and that He. Loves. Her. Money.(Okay, that last word "money" is mine because we all know the score) He asks what is she going to do about their marriage, and isn’t it cruel of her to have a relationship with Pepe without telling him she is sick? (And for once, Rolando is right.)

MALeEPE - MAL tells Pepe that she told Rolando she and Pepe are Never Ever Getting Gack Together Again. She also enlightens Pepe that thanks to Rol, she now knows that Rafa is Lorenzo’s son., and Rol now knows the baby is Rafa’s.
Pepe is kind of ticked off that she is spilling secrets. Mal asks pepe if he thinks she would tell a secret for the sole purpose of causing damage? (Patio is nodding their heads “oh heck yes!”) She has never told any of his family secrets over the past 17 years. She thinks Rafa deserves to know the truth (about is bio-dad). She reminds him that she kept quiet all these years about Andrea’s mother in jail for murder.

Then she continues on, telling Pepe that Alex told her to clear out her business off his land, that she loved her in-laws, they are her only family, and now they’ve turned their backs on her. Also, she says Rafa has threatened to take the baby after she gives birth.
Finally, she hands the divorce papers to Pepe for him to sign. Recapper hopes he reads every word of it.

I do believe in spirits and the reappearance of loved ones. I wish it would happen to me as I would give anything to see my mother one last time. Usually, the visits are comforting but sadly Dulce's visit seemed to break Sebastian even further...

Yes, JE wants to move up the wedding, to this weekend!!! Sabastian convinced him to strike now and not wait, after all we never know what tomorrow will bring, as he's learned losing Dulce and his baby.

Rebeca told Misael that she likes him a lot but she wanted him to know she lied to him. She admitted the house he dropped her off at the first day wasn't her house and she was ashamed to show him where she really lives. She told him that they aren't in the same social class as you noted, and she wanted him to find out from her before he heard it somewhere else. As you also noted, Misael is unphased.

So relieved Angel found DE!!! Or really he found her, but still grateful that he's found and back home!

Monica was talking to Octavio (bank guy) about making life more miserable for Angel and basically trying to sink her at the bank - get her to lose the restaurant. Monica had overheard enough of Misael's conversation with Santi to guess they had another bank payment issue. My vocab for finance speak in Spanish isn't very good, but I think Octavio indicated that Angel had some credit issues and that's why she's under strict procedures at the bank. He thought at the time when he said it that Monica wanted to help, but then learned she didn't. Either way, can't be legal/ethical to discuss her finances like that. For now, Octavio stated that procedures are procedures and there's nothing he can do but we'll see if Monica influences him.

Mati and her brother were walking through the camp because they had the bright idea to go off in search of mom. Why they didn't just go out the driveway and to the road, who knows? But that was the plan. I'm not sure if Mati overheard enough to Luciano and Bruno's conversation to suspect daddy likes Fatima, or if she just misses mommy. Either way, that wolf wasn't the least bit interested in those kids until they drew his attention - and then Luciano and Fatima drew it even more with the yelling, running and spray. Mati and the little boy (don't remember his name) could have just walked away in the beginning, I don't think the wolf would have followed.

Andy, it was JE that Bruno was talking about getting rid of. After reading your comment about Luciano, I rewatched thinking maybe I'd missed something but it was JE. The conversation between Misael and Bruno starts off about Luciano but then Bruno mentions that Luciano might get Fatima to stay at the hacienda which would be bad for Misael because he wants Fatima back at the company and JE out at the ranch. Bruno says it would be even worse if JE becomes president and Misael says that can't happen because JE suspects something and could uncover their faud. That's when Bruno suggests that maybe something could happen to JE, Misael replies by saying he wasn't a murderer and that Dulce's death was an accident! Bruno said he knows that, but JE could have an accident too, couldn't he? WOW!! Misael didn't really respond, but Bruno clearly has no problem with the idea of murder.

Thanks, Diana, that was great. I wish they hadn’t told Rebeca about the wedding. I can’t believe she wrote that Angel was an accomplice in the murder of Dulce. That would be hard for JE to believe, hopefully.

I was surprised Rebeca told Misael that the house where he dropped her off wasn’t her’s. It’s strange she wanted him to think she was rich and now wants him to know the truth. Maybe she figures the truth will come out now that Angel met her mother. Better to tell the truth than get caught in a lie!

It looks like Misael was supposed to transfer the money. I remember Santiago putting a bunch of cash in his hand. Not sure why he would trust Misael.

Monica going to the bank was something else. And the banker thought she wanted to help them with their loan. Guess he doesn’t know her that well. I would think bankers really have to be above reproach.

I’m enjoying Leandro and Bruno. Or is it Luciano! He will definitely come out ahead, Bruno already looks like a fool. I think he would be capable of murder. I was surprised he apologized to Sandra, and very relieved when she ran out of the room.

Doris, thank you for another bouncey recap of the neighborhood problems .

My guess is that Gracia got pregnant as a teen , and her older sister kind Rosa took the child to raise as her own . However , whatever happened to make Nat such a bitter itch ???? Was Rosa married ? It appears that Gracia has had no contact with Rosa and Nat through the years.

MAL is now going after the son of the rich guy . This girl is always pragmatic .

I hope Andrea's mother gets sprung from jail soon . We need some more spice to add to this stew. What is her story??? Maybe she will end up with Rafa.

I am so tired of the Alex \ Isabella\_Lor triangle . This storyline just goes around and around and goes nowhere . I dont want her with either of them .

Nat has taken Ren under her evil wing for some reason ...that is not good . Where is Ren's family ?

To tell you the truth , I am having trouble watching this sea of dysfunction and tears. Pepe's perky nature and rolling on the brand new mattress isn't helping . Only Lor's scarves and Rosas's kind smiles bring me back .

Why does no lawyer in these series ever have an elderly person record videos to demonstrate their mental health? That was on our Law & Order three decades ago (along with DNA testing).

Bruno is disgusting. Why doesn't he just move to Stepford?

Monica was really over the top. Does anyone else think she has ideas about seducing the banker to get his cooperation? Honestly, GS's next role should be as a madame.

Darcy, thank you for the correction, I only understood part of the conversation and thought that Bruno wanted Luciano to have an 'accident' because Luciano is doing so much better with Fatima than Bruno is.
Misael is being painted as a complicated bad guy; bad, but not totally.

Also, I gave myself a laugh just now when I reread my comment. The part about Rgv Chick, defender of chickens. I was referring to her protectiveness of her chickens a few years ago when there was a night predator looking to snag a few snacks from her chicken coop, nothing to do with Luciano who had taken on a wolf to protect his kids.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Luciano and Fatima and the kids are now, after this experience. I'm assuming that everyone survives, I doubt the novela wants to kill off Luciano. So, being attacked by a wolf, whether realistic or not (I have no idea), and fighting it off as a bonding experience for Fatima and Luciano and the kids. Um, okay.

Half the time I find Monica to be repellent, the other half I enjoy her being so over the top. It all depends on the situation.

Thanks Doris, I enjoyed that. I forget, or don’t understand, quite a lot. Reading about it the next day is an, oh yeah, I forgot that moment.

MAL is having the son or grandson of a millionaire! I bet she can get money from Lorenzo for his grandson. Or maybe go through Rafa without marrying him. And I’m wondering if Pepe’s going to sign those papers now that he’s been warned off Paula with the threats from Rol.

Emi’s romance with Lucia seems doomed. Reni is not going to let him go. We know it will backfire eventually. Is he going to wander around a foreign country looking for her?

I really like Rosa. She has the nicest smile and is so calming. I can’t figure out Gracia. She’s really close to Isabella but does she want Alex. And Alex moves out instead of wooing Isabella. Forty years of marriage vs. a magnetic attraction. Hard to know what she should do. Alex is pushing her away.

Paula has got to be wising up to Rol. He doesn’t want Suzy in the local school, he doesn’t want her to have fun. I’d be wondering what was going to become of my child under his care.

I am now almost expecting Nat to think of a way to kill Rafa and frame Pedro for it on the assumption that Paula -- or her estate -- would get Rafa's share of Lorenzo's fortune.

Is Malena really tired of fighting for Pedro? She should be by now.

Paula seems to have developed a tendency to blurt out'thetruth' or part of it, but it's the kind of truth that doesn't lead anywhere. Why on earth did she think Rolando needed to know she was in love with Pepe? I mean, what is one supposed to do with that kind of info? I also wonder if Paula was always self-absorbed or if her illness brought this out in her. But maybe the fact she focused on her own grief and neglected her kids indicates she tends to focus on her own feelings during difficult times. She told Pepe they don't have to do what Rolando says. I can't figure out if she doesn't care what he might do to Pepe's family or if she hasn't grasped yet what he could do. For someone who talked about how she needed to spend more time with her kids, she spends way too much time pursuing Pepe.It's a pity alarm bells didn't ring in her head the moment Rolando told her he was in love. I'm slightly baffled she still thought this could be a business like arrangement.
Emiliano made me laugh when he said it 'would be difficult' to find Renata in London. Difficult?How the hell did he imagine he could find her there? Where would he even look?In every London hotel?
I think in her first video Renata said she was nearlyraped/assaulted and was going to expose the guy or something. In the second one she talked about how lonely she was and how life is not worth living.
When are they going to resolve that Isabela/Lorenzo/Alex plot? I could maybe watch it, but Isabela annoys me for some reason. Why is she so determined to keep Alex? Out of fear?
Btw Paula 'wants to have her cake and eat it' is the best description of her actions.
I wonder what Rolando's plan is. He told Malena he did his part and now it's up to her to do the rest. She went and gave Pepe the divorce papers right after this. What are these two planning?

We learned something about JE and Fatima's dad when Cris questioned if the dad leaving them when she was so young has turned off Fatima to getting married. Of course, it's Bruno, not marriage, that is the real turnoff.

Yay! Don Emilio was quickly found, had fun with a yo-yo, and snacked on yummy food.

IIRC, in an early episode Ren said something about having nobody, that her parents traveled all the time and no one really looks after her. I don’t know where she lives, I think maybe said an aunt or STTE, and this might be why she is so attached to Emi. And also emotionally unstable. Otherwise, she would be completely alone, abandoned, whatever.

I continue to be amazed that Paula is pursuing Pepe instead of focusing on her health and her kids . I just don't think this would happen unless she is just trying to run away from her diagnosis and distract herself with a romance . I need my beanie, and I am struggling to suspend my disbelief.

VIVIR #11 Part 1

Rebeca folds her poison pen letter and calls Doris. She needs a favor. Rebeca stares hard at the picture of her as a child on the desk.

Meanwhile, the wolf attacks Luciano biting hard and fiercely on his arm! Luciano and the family escaped in the car, the wolf on foot.

Santiago and Misael talk. Needless to say Santi isn’t getting his money. He is coming home, much to Misael’s consternation.

Elena asked Angel about the money, she assured her everything is set. JE comes in and waltzes her away in true Disney tradition, birds singing, critters scampering and sweet kisses.

JE doesn’t spirit Angel too far; they sit at a table in the restaurant. Angel gets reflective, mentioning Dulce. Smiles and te amos ensue. He has ordered her favorite dish and they take turns feeding each other as the theme music plays. It is declared delicious!

After their great escape, Luciano holds his arm as the family walks, Javier very impressed saying “wow, wow, wow”. Mati says something like thanks to Fatima she won’t be seeing her mother. Luciano tries to assure her by saying Romina is the mother of his children and will always be in their lives. The three hug as Fatima stares and walks off. Viewerville wonders how bad the wound is and if he is ever going to get it looked at!

Rebeca horns in on a conversation between Elena and her friend regarding the flowers, Elena effuses, (I believe it is Jimena), not so much.

Rebeca meets with Doris, handing her the letter and we see it is unsurprisingly addressed to JE.

Angel is at the bank seeking credit but no dice.

Fatima harkens back to her kiss with Luciano, where she told him he was a wonderful father. Then Mati’s recent rejection and grimaces.

Oh no, Bruno turns up to interrupt her reverie. “Luciano” he stutters and scowls, bringing up Luciano’s kids. You are mine he repeats, which she verbally disputes. “You are my novia” he hisses as she walks by him. She rejects him. AGAIN. He talks to her back.

Misael starts jawing at JE who has to tell Misael AGAIN the decision of who is made president is up to his grandfather, not him. Misael sneers.

Monica starts jawing at Cris about the same issue. Monica says something that may have been important but was over my head. She banishes Cris and picks up her drink and downs it!

Fatima and Sandra talk. Fatima has a grand idea that we don’t get to hear.

Bruno eavesdrops on JE and Angel.

VIVIR #11 Part 2 of 2

Rebeca meets Misael and she kisses him. Uh no there’s a little black box. It’s the key to his heart. No, I’m kidding. It’s far less valuable, it’s the key to his apartment. Misael’s phone goes off and we hear someone speaking (as does Rebeca) and not sure what was said.

Misael tells Rebeca he is in an inferno. Confide in me she urges. When nothing is forthcoming she takes her purse and starts to leave. He says something like he is responsible for Dulce’s death, it was an accident. She holds his head against her chest comforting him and then kissing him.

Fatima joins JE and Angel. Angel likes the cocktail that was prepared for her. Fatima seems to admit to liking Luciano. Alone, Fatima admits she likes him and his character and authenticity. Angel is happy for her friend.

Uh oh, the daily mail is delivered to JE’s, Doris lurking across the street.

Luciano apologizes to Fatima for Mati and they shortly dissolve into escalating passionate kisses.

Lucas is with the gang and tries to leave but Brian holds him back with a sharp knife to the neck. I’m not sure what the plan is but he is going to be involved, like it or not. The other gang members stare viciously.

Gi calls Santiago looking for her husband but he isn’t there. He’s in bed with Doris eating strawberries and whipped cream. Scum.

Misael has turned into a sniveling faucet of tears. He tells Rebeca Dulce was pregnant, Rebeca assures him it wasn’t his fault, it was an accident. They snuggle and she looks at him her head tucked under his chin.

JE brings Angel home; they are both excited about the wedding.

Meanwhile the gang are on their motorcycles on the run from the police. They aren’t caught as a truck gets in the way. We see that omnipresent larger-than-life moon.

Iker arrives home trying to be quiet. Gi is in bed, back turned, crying.

Fatima is in bed smiling. Luciano opens a door but it is to his kids’ room, checking on them covering them with a blanket. He sits on a chair and watches them thoughtfully.

Angel is in bed admiring her dress as JE is in his bed smiling at a picture of her. Now we have no doubt something very bad will happen. And then we see the letter, standing up against his bedside clock.

Rebeca and Misael talk a bit; it is the morning of the wedding.

Mati calls Lucas who has just hidden something in his drawer. She says he’s been a ghost.

Bridal music plays as Angel turns herself gorgeous and glamorous. Elena looks lovely herself. Santiago is home and as Angel enters the room, he has his back to her. She sees the card tattoo on his neck and is impactada!

JE is looking handsome in his dark suit when Don Emilo presents him with some sort of lapel pin/ornament which he places in his pocket. He hugs his grandson lovingly as tears pool in JE’s eyes.

A horrified Angel stares at his tattoo and starts putting the pieces together, finally pushing him toward the mirror, crying devastatingly as she believes that he was the one who attacked and is responsible for Dulce’s death.

VIDA Ep. 37 Part 1

Pepe must have hesitated in signing the divorce papers because Mal asks what he’s waiting for…once he signs, he ca do whatever he wants—be Paula’s lover, find another woman, whatever; she won’t meddle in his life anymore.

Isabela wants Alex to listen to her. He asks why she doesn’t tell him what she told Gracia…that she can’t live without Lor. Why can’t she tell him the truth instead of insisting on staying with him so she won’t feel guilty?! Alex then tells her that he is going to Spain with Rafa…so she and Lor can live out their eternal love!

Rol bludgeons Paula telling her that she is sick…she is terminally ill and she is holding on to the fallacy of what she thinks is love for a man who doesn’t even know how ill she is .He continues on and on…and on and on. He purports that Pepe is interested her only for her money. He hammers in that she is ill and her health will deteriorate every day…she only has a few months to live. Paula retorts that she may be in love with Pepe, but she will be faithful to Rol. Rol points out that Pepe has many problems of his own and won’t be able to take in any more. Rol knows what is coming and he is there because he truly loves her. Before he leaves, Rol gives Paula a quick kiss on the cheek (and I’m looking to see if there is a burn mark left).

Alex is packing his things. Isabla is still trying to talk to to him. Alex tells her that it hurts him to leave her, but he sees things clearly.

Lor sees that Paula is very troubled. She tells him about how brutal Rol was in their conversation…and told her how ridiculous it is to fall in love when there is no time to live that love. Lor tells her that he won’t let her say that. He knows that she married Rol just to protect her children. There are many options she has to leave her children protected without having tied herself to Rol. When Paula reminds him that he told her that there was no time for feeling butterflies in her stomach, Lor replies that he had no clue about her feelings for Pepe. He insists that she is going to live..and maybe Pepe will be her motivation to agree to the treatment…and to live.

Paula sits alone and looks at a picture of her and the kids. As her head starts hurting, she sees Pepe in the picture as well.

The night passes. Isabela thinks of Lor telling her that they still have feelings for each other after 40 years. Paula enters her bedroom and quietly slips into bed as Rol pretends to be asleep.

Next day—

Lucia is preparing to go to school. MAL and Pepe are also there and are surprised when Emilio arrives to accompany Lucia.Teo tells them that Emi and Lucia are now novios. Lucia denies it, but Emi tells them that he is Lucia’s novio. Daggar looks from MAL!

At Paula’s house, Paula is getting ready to take Susy to school but needs to do something before they leave.

MAL is my upset about Emilio and Lucia being novios. When Lucia tells her that she wishes she could get a divorce from her too, Mal goes at her but Pepe holds her back.

As Paula puts on her coat, she looks at an envelope on the coded table. After she and Susy leave, Lor finds the envelope, smiles and comments “no puede ser!”

 

VIDA Ep. 37 Part 2

Emi tríes to talk to MAL and get her permission to go out with Lucia, but MAL is MAL and basically tells him no way how...especially since he is Paula's son!

Rol thanks Nat for bringing Reni. After Nat asks how things are going with Paula, she sits beside him and gets flirty, but Rol sees Rosa coming and quickly gets up admonishing Nat and reminding her that he is a married man!

At the restaurant, Isabela tells Gracia that she had never seen Alex so angry! He found out in the worst way; and she did everything wrong (ya think?). Isabela tries to get Gracia’s opinion but Gracia asks her what she is going to do. Isabela wonders if she should give Lor a chance/.

Nat backpedals and tells Rol that he misinterpreted what she was trying to do. She knows that Rol is very worried about Paula and she was just giving him a comforting hug. When Rol turns on Rosa and starts insulting her, Nat defends Rosa telling Rol that there is no need to be so harsh.

Pepe goes to talk to Rafa. Rafa asks how he is is; so Pepe replies that he feels like a train ran over him. Pepe has been thinking a lot…the betrayal and the lies hurt him. When Pepe takes some responsibility for what happened, Rafa tells him that the only ones at fault are him and MAL. Pepe then asks what Rafa feels for MAL. Pepe stopped loving MAL a long time ago and was only with her because of the kids. He suggests that if Rafa loves Mal, he needs to accept that Rafa and Mal will be together…and form a family.

Paula arrives at the hospital for the proton treatment. She’s telling the doctor that she changed her mind because of her children, for herself…when Lor shows up. Lor won’t leave her alone.

Rafa explains how he has always been in love with Mal and how torn up he felt when Pepe married her. Rafa tried hard to contain himself but one day, he and Mal were alone and he couldn’t anymore.

Gracia and Isabela continue to talk. Isabela thinks that on the one hand, Lor showing up is the worst thing that could happen, she could gone on without him. But, on the other hand, the feelings she has when she sees Lor and not caring about anything at that moment is the best thing that could happen to her. Isabela then thinks about how she can’t be thinking like that because she is a married woman…she is terrified.

MAL threatens Emi to stay away from Lucia or she will report him for abuse of a minor.

Diego asks Reni why she did this (her wrists are bandaged…EYE ROLL). She cries that she is ashamed that everyone feels sorry for her; and she is there to apologize to everyone. Diego doesn’t believe her…he thinks she is doing everything just so that Emi can go back to her. Reni turns up the river of tears. When Diego tells her Wni was very worried about her and even wants to go to look for her in London, Reni can’t believe it (what a fake!) and asks Diego to help her see Emi.

Rol overhears Rosa and Nat talking. He hears Nat call Rosa “mama.” He also hears Rosa call Nat by her real name, "Eulalia.”

Rafa appreciates that Pepe allowed him tell him about his feelings. Pepe reiterated that if Rafa wants to start a family with Mal, he doesn’t have a problem with it. He just has one condition—they can’t mess with his children. Rafa tries to hug Pepe before he leaves, but Pepe is not ready for that; Pepe doesn’t trust Rafa anymore.

As Nat walks out of the kitchen, Rol sarcastically chuckles as he gloats that he knows that Rosa is her mother. He smirks at all the lies Nat has told and wonders who she really is.

Emi insistsl that he loves and respects Lucia. It falls on dead ears and MAT threatens to call the cops.

Paula is getting her treatment and dreams of life with Pepe and his kids. When she wakes, she whispers, “p
Pepe.”

Isabela tells Gracia that Lor is also going through a difficult time…he is very worried about his daughter. As Gracia asks what is wrong with Paula, Pepe approaches, overhears and also asks what is going on with Paula.

Rgv Chick, you set the bar higher with each successive recap. This was fire.

Rol’s tirade was long and blistering “Rol gives Paula a quick kiss on the cheek (and I’m looking to see if there is a burn mark left) was perfect. In addition to now knowing Rafa is Mal’s baby’s father, his sneaking and lurking has enabled him to learn of Rosa and Nat’s connection.

Lor is finally becoming the caring (perhaps even gulp, dependable?) father Paula has always needed. It was heartening to see him show up and offer his support.

“He…asks why she doesn’t tell him what she told Gracia…that she can’t live without Lor. Why can’t she tell him the truth instead of insisting on staying with him so she won’t feel guilty?!” Confronted by reality, Alex wastes no time in blurting out the somewhat brutal but unvarnished truth. But still, Isabela wrings her hands and vacillates. Time to decide, once and for all. I thought it interesting that Graciela would not give Isa her opinion but volleyed the question back to Isa by asking her “what she is going to do”. I think Graciela is in love with Alex but would never do anything to jeopardize Alex and Isa’s relationship. She left it up to Isa to do that on her own.

Pepe is a good man. Not only is he a fiercely devoted father, but he is also a kind and loving soul. I’m not at all surprised he sought out Rafa and has gone so far as to express willingness to accept Rafa and Mal as a family. Frankly, that gives me the chills but then Pepe is obviously far more forgiving than I.

Did Emi think MAL was going to welcome him into the family with open arms?

With so many secrets out in the open, dare we hope Pepe will finally learn of Paula’s illness?

Reni gave a convincing performance to Diego, while the sensible part of my brain knows it was all an act. At least Emiliano will learn that she never left the country. She's not done working the crowd.

MAL pointing out to Emi that Lucía is a minor was an interesting ploy.

Rol overheard that convo between Rosa and Nat and the plot thickens.

I really liked that discussion Pepe and Rafa had. It is probably one of the more sane conversations in this crazy telenovela. Pepe might be the sanest person in this story, since there isn't a horse or a dog to pin that title onto.

Hooray! Paula is finally getting radiation treatment. It is sad she is doing it for her desire to be with Pepe instead of for her children. What are the writers thinking?! A chance for recovery and more time with her kids should come first. Gah.

You're 1000% percent right about Luciano and that bite!!! What kind of a moron doesn't go to the doctor after being bit by a wolf?? I like Luciano! Don't make him that stupid!!! Except for being up front with Mati about mommy, he's been a fun character and I like his bravado in going after Fatima.

Fatima broke up with Bruno completely in their little argument. It's no longer just I don't want to get married. She straight up told him their relationship is over. Let's see if he accepts it...

I realized last night we have our two blondes mixed up. Gi is the blonde with the shorter hair that was at the restaurant with Angel and Elena, she's the one who is Elena's life long friend. Jimena is the blonde with the longer hair who is married to lying, cheating rat Iker.

I didn't completely understand the specifics of Fatima's idea, but it has something to do with producing a juice and marketing it as a health drink. The juice which is what she served JE and Angel, not a cocktail, is a special blend of juices that was Dulce's favorite and that she drank to promote health. She wants to sell it in honor of Dulce and JE thought it was a wonderful idea.

I don't remember exactly what Monica said to Cris, but it was something along the lines of her being a pushover and how she would probably even welcome her ex back with open arms after everything he's done. We learn that he left Cris for a much younger woman and abandoned his kids. Monica also said his name, but I don't remember now what it was.

It was Bruno who called Misael in front of Rebeca, and Misael tried to hang up because he was busy trying to make out with Rebeca. But he must have hit speaker instead of end call, because all of the sudden Bruno was talking about JE and his growing suspicions and the fraud, and even how JE might trace him to Dulce's death; Rebeca definitely heard it all. That's part of what prompted Misael to come clean, she'd already heard enough.... that said, Misael has gone down several notches in the capable villain category in my mind! Dude spilled the whole truth to the chick he met a couple times and bedded once!!! What kind of master villain is he? Also, noteworthy, the next morning Misael wanted Rebeca to come to the wedding with him, but she begged off saying she'd be a better source of information to him if people didn't know they were together. Misael also told her that he wasn't name president (yet) and that JE is trying to take the position from him but he's fighting it. Rebeca bad mouthed Angel to Misael saying she tries to look innocent but all she does is hurt people.

So somehow it didn't occur to Lorenzo Paula could fall in love before it actually happened? I know time is the issue, but he was basically fine with his daughter marrying out of fear her kids will be unprotected. And now he says there are many options? Would he mind mentioning just a few so Paula could decide which one to pick before she dies? In this telenovela it really becomes frustrating there's this need to make characters act a certain way so the plot could happen.
I wonder what Paula thought Rolando would say. If someone told me they are in love with someone but won't be unfaithful out of respect for me, I'd frankly be lost for words.
At least Diego knows what Renata is really like. I bet it will take ages for Emiliano to really understand how she can manipulate everyone. He still thinks that car incident was 'an accident'.
It's pretty funny to watch Malena trying to impose her authority on Lucia when she clearly never put any effort into this relationship. 'I'm still your mother' is such a weird phrase from someone like her. I just keep thinking I'd want to respond with 'really? I have forgotten because you're never around'

I hope Angeli reduces her worthless brother to tears tonight. His gambling is how their current situation became what it is. Alas, Elena is very unlikely to force him out of the house because of having lost nasty Frida.

Fatima came up with juice blends that can be marketed as "Dulce Nutricion" as a tribute to Dulce. Both JE and Angelia liked the idea.

It was Bruno on the phone to Misael and the word "fraud" was in what he was saying. Rebeca had to have heard at least one complete sentence.

Since Luciano was wearing at least two sleeved garments and we didn't see any blood I doubt that it's worse than a large bruise. The wolf looked healthy and it was beautiful. (I like wolves and once had a neighbor who kept a timber wolf as a pet.)

Fatima may need a restraining order against Bruno who should be exiled to Stepford.

The tale of the two blondes has completely befuddled me. Rgv Chick had tried to clue me in but I still got it wrong. Thank you for setting me straight. :) I will say in my defense and with no disrespect to the Jimena character that she looks quite a bit older than she is. She looks more like Angel's mother than friend. Your noting Gi has shorter hair will hopefully allow me to get them straight.

I am so appreciative of your noting what Bruno said on Misael's speakerphone which Rebeca overheard. So Misael's admission was hastened due to that...makes perfect sense.

You are right in that we didn't see any blood on Luciano after the attack which was shocking. Call me overly cautious, but I still would get it checked out, broken skin or not.

Diana, I was befuddled too! I honestly didn't realize it until this episode. When I saw Gi in the restaurant it occurred to me that her hair is shorter than the other woman who we've been calling Gi and that's when I realized there were two different women. The joys of trying to learn 37 new people at the beginning of a novela! :)

Thanks, Diana, you painted a beautiful picture in the different scenes with JE and Angel. But he hasn’t read the letter and Angel has seen her brother’s tattoo. Will Angel tell, will she go through with the wedding. Horrible discovery on her wedding day.

So glad Fatima ended it with Bruno. But I don’t think he’ll be too easy to get rid of. When I saw it I was thinking of guys that hurt or kill when their girl breaks up with them. And Bruno was really possessive.

Diana, we (and Paula) certainly got an earful from Rol, did we? And Alex was definitely brutal, but at least he had didn't go on and on and treat Isabela like a child the needed a harsh scolding. I think Gracia sin love with Alex too,,,and the she is just being very loyal other good friend Isabela (who still frustrates that heck out of me with her "I do. but I shouldn't attitude.

Doris, "Reni gave a convincing performance to Diego" The girl sure can turn on the tears, can't she? And I cheered too when Paula arrived to get he proton therapy. "It is sad she is doing it for her desire to be with Pepe instead of for her children. What are the writers thinking?!" Exactly!! And ITA with Waterlily...

I keep shaking my head at so many things! Like the doc telling Paula that he hadn't told her about the proton therapy because it was new and hadn't been tried in Mexico. I don't know about anyone else here, but I had cancer and was told there was little to do, I would be researching like crazy for any kind of treatment--new or old--that could give me the slightest of hope. Why hadn;t Paula heard about this treament way back then???

Note to Doris--my sincere apologies for not commenting on your recap. My day was very hectic yesterday and I only had time to read the recap and comments. You totally surprised me! You said you were very tired, so I was expecting a skimpy recap, but you came through and provided everything that was worth mentioning. I am SO impressed! Thank you!

Thanks, RGVChick, that was a great read. There were some good, and bad, conversations and it was great to read what I missed. Pepe is so kind and caring toward Rafa, even if he’s not ready for a hug yet. Rol was horrible and cruel to Paula. No surprise there. Then he didn’t speak nicely to Rosa. I wish he hadn’t noticed her so she could witness their relationship. He’s not a nice person at all.

I’m not sure what Reni is up to, but I guess she’ll tell Emi the truth, maybe! We know she still wants him. Not sure if she appeared to Diego on her own or this is still part of Nat’s plan.

Anxious to see if Isabella tells about Paula tonight. And if so, how will Pepe react. My guess is he’ll run to her, not away.

The only thing I can add is that Misael was not totally honest when he spilled his guts to Rebecca. He told her that Dulce entered and started to struggle with Santiago...and when he tried to take the gun from Santiago, the gun went off. LIAR!! Also, Cris's ex-husband's name is Mauricio and he's on the Wiki character list...soooo we will surely be seeing him :-)

Pepe is quite the gentleman. He is totally surprising me with his generous consideration of those who have betrayed him. There are times when he addresses MAL as if nothing had happened; and now with telling Rafa to basically “go for it”…WOW! Want a man!

I think Isabela will come up with something other than the truth. She’s good at lying…even to herself!

Reni’s arrival and Oscar-winning performance is still part of Nat’s intrigues. Rol thanked Nat for bringing Reni; so I’m sure he’s in on Nat’s plan too.

I don't think Paula is being selfish. She is in a state of panic because this is as beyond control as it gets. She doesn't know how much time she has and only Emiliano is a legal adult... two months after her prognosis was given. The little chipmunk is in kindergarten at most. This will freak out the poor child.

We don't know anything substantial about her marriage to German. Was he good to her? Was he a good father? A good provider? We haven't heard the kids say much of anything about him.

She is now only beginning to see Rolando as we know him. He is a control freak, doesn't know how to deal with children, and doesn't like them. He has been rude to the boys and is trying to control Suzy. She needs to be free of him.

She has seen that Pepe is a good father. That is part of her attraction to him.

As for Renata's act in front of Diego, I don't think he was fooled. Renata's glee at Emiliano's panicked reaction was all about ego and had no concern for him.

Now that Rolando knows that Rosa is Nat's mother (or is she?) that will definitely mess up their dynamic.

Diana, thank you yet again for your excellent recap! This novela has its virtues, but faults too. It's amazing that we are still trying to figure out who half the characters are. So there are two different blondes involved here. Who knew? :-)
It takes an entire patio to figure it all out.

The earth should just open up and swallow Bruno. Not only is he nasty, he's stupid. If he wanted to make progress with Fátima he really had to at least pretend to be a nice guy and to care for her. Too late now.

Wow, did that receptionist ever give Misael a cold, cold look after his conversation with JE. I'm surprised he didn't shiver.


"Misael’s phone goes off and we hear someone speaking (as does Rebeca) and not sure what was said." I thought it was Bruno relaying what he overheard, but I didn't understand more than a word or two, just saw Misael's very unhappy face, partly because Rebeca was there. But now we know.

Interesting about Cristina's husband taking off so long ago. I have also been wondering about Adolfo and Cristina. He once said something to Cristina about "it" happening so long ago, can't we put it to rest now? All sorts of little mysteries here.

Luciano must be made of stern stuff. He seems almost perfectly fine even though a wolf had his hand in its jaws. Whatever.

Misael and Santiago are not villains through and through, but both greedy idiots have caused deaths and upset lives. I don't know what poor Angel will do now.

Diana, thanks again, thanks to you and the other commenters I have a good idea what's going on, otherwise I would be very lost.

When JE came to treat Angel to a special meal in a special nook in her own restaurant, Rebecca snarked something like Del Olmo was super busy, no table available at the last minute. Elena's bff noticed this. Elena is feeling the call of the blood, but the bff is smelling something rotten.

Those night scenes of Lucas and the gang and of the blonde whose husband is cheating. I wonder if the gang had something to do with her car getting stolen. Her rat of a husband is not only cheating on her but their son too because he was supposed to take the boy to the sporting event, not her.

VIVIR #12 Part 1

¿Se casarán

The long-awaited day has finally arrived! Tables, laden with beautiful bouquets of white mixed flowers and pristine white tablecloths, are set outside on the picturesque grounds as guests start arriving. Monica and Adolfo shmooze, Bruno’s face a study in anger, as always. Luciano pulls back Fatima’s chair as she sits.

Angel, completely distraught confronts Santiago about Dulce’s murder. Shifty eyed Santiago insists he isn’t an assassin. When Angel threatens to go to the police, there is a lot of denying but I don’t believe he says anything to implicate Misael. I thought he might have threatened her but I have no idea what he might “have” on her??

Cris tells JP how handsome he looks; he answers that he is going to marry the love of his life. She blesses him as Don Emilio smiles ear to ear.

Elena comes in and seeing Angel’s countenance, immediately asks what the matter is. Santiago answers for his sister saying she is nervous and overly emotional. Elena comforts her and leads her from the room as Angel turns and stares daggers at pitiful Santiago.

Alma and Antonio are closing up for day, Alma commenting that she hates to go home with Rebeca not being there. A woman with a young girl arrives and Alma pinches the child’s cheek smiling broadly. I think they are going to babysit as Antonio promises chocolate to the child.

Angel is greeted by JE who tells her she looks beautiful. Her two-piece wedding outfit is a bit surprising and seems out of character for her.. Oh and then she tells him they aren’t getting married.!

JE is shocked. It doesn’t appear Angel’s unhappiness and desperation have registered! He very gently talks her off the ledge telling her he loves her with all his heart. Her face clouded with grief, she does start to say “mi hermano Santiago…”, but alas does not finish. You should have paid attention to that dude. The woman that you love would ordinarily be beaming and floating on a cloud. The Angel you see before you is desperately unhappy; something is seriously wrong.

With the ceremony about to begin, Angel walks down the aisle as Sebastian kisses his wedding ring.

It is important to note that the ceremony is a civil one. JE and Angel stand in front of the crowd as everyone claps. Rebeca lurks in the background and watches with almost a sneer.

Uh oh, Monica is giving another unwanted, ill-timed speech. Both Angel and JE shut her down and Cris affirms she will not allow her to ruin the day.

JE leads Angel to a glass table where the registry is waiting to be signed.

Gi and Elena talk, Elena is concerned about Angel and Santiago adds his two cents (sounds about right for how much his opinion is worth). Gi notices Rebeca and mentions it to Cris and Renato. Meanwhile, Rebeca calls Doris asking if she is sure the poison pen letter got delivered. She says yes and stormy eyed Rebeca says the wedding is beginning. Renato stalks up, grabs Rebeca’s arm and warns her off.

JE and Angel sign the registry as Monica and Misael spar, Misael looking miserable. Fatima turns and smiles at Luciano much to Bruno’s consternation.

The ceremony finishes and there is a long lingering kiss. My initial question, will they get married, has been asked and answered.

Angel and JE have the first dance amid cheers of love and support. Rebeca scowls in the background.

Iker is looking at his phone at a sexy picture of Doris as Jimena tries to talk with him. She is so sweet to him and he is just an SOB.

VIVIR #12 Part 2 of 2

Rebeca goes to the house with some pretense and give the housekeeper some sort of bag which she puts in their room. Rebeca is right behind her and goes into what we assume is JE’s room. She starts opening drawers and then finds the letter which had fallen behind the bedside table!! She opens JE’s luggage and slips it inside. She zips the case, takes whatever it was she had the maid put in the room and leaves.

Elena congratulates the happy couple as does Santiago. Angel regards him without a smile.

Monica badmouths JE. She notices Rebeca and he explains who she is. Rebeca goes right to JE to congratulate him. She says something about Renato, seemingly implying something…Sebastian comes over and JE’s attention is diverted.

Fatima and Luciano are sitting with his children, Mati looking miserable. She makes a comment about Monica and Luciano urges her to respect Fatima.

Bruno is carping to Misael who takes Santiago aside. Santiago tells Misael that Angel knows (I think) and Misael goes to punch him. He later seems to threaten him.

Brian is handing out money to his crew but when he tries to give Lucas a (small) cut, Lucas refuses. Brian insists.

Angel flashes back to several scenes, recalling the aftermath of Dulce’s death; she holds the wall for support. Renato comes in and asks her what’s wrong, to please confide in him. The rest of their conversation eluded me, but he seemed to wish her and JE the best. JE walks in and does not look happy asking if he is interrupting anything. Horrid Santiago intervenes and wants “a word.” I think he is begging Angel not to say anything.

Bruno is begging Fatima AGAIN and the answer has not changed. I am in love with Luciano, let me by she allows as she walks away.

Night is beginning to fall and the candles on the tables now lit. Don Emilio gives a lovely congratulatory toast to the newlyweds.

We see a beautiful red setting sun against the dark sky.

In their wedding night room, there is a trail of red rose petals leading to the bed where they spell out “te amo”. There is a flurry of soon to be broken promises, e.g. they will love each other the rest of their lives; I’m the happiest person in the world and of course “I will love you forever”.

At home, Jimena starts to kiss Iker but is quickly and firmly rebuffed. The alarm is sounding, does she not hear sirens and see the red lights flashing??

Luciano and Mati have a talk about love. She asks how it feels and he tells her how special it is, as he recalls being with Fatima. I’m sure his recollections of Bruno came completely unbidden 😊. Naturally, Mati thinks he is talking about Romina which couldn’t be further from the truth. She thinks about Lucas.

An angry Rebeca sits on the bed as a shirtless Misael comes in. He starts to get romantic as her thoughts are elsewhere…

The last scene is JE and Angel in bed. Angel does not appear to be indulging in afterglow; her worried and frightened expression says it all.
