VIVIR #19 Part 1

Papers, papers everywhere but nowhere where they are supposed to be…

This is intentionally brief and sketchy as I understood very little. Kindly fill in if you can.

Misael and Monica discuss the papers; Adolfo joins them and much eye rolling from Monica ensues; I believe she tells him to be careful about HER hijo.

Don Emilio talks about the papers with JE and Cris; JE calls Gabriela wanting to retrieve them. Romina overhears the conversation.

Another fabrica scene. Armando, whose car is covered with fruit, emerges wearing a pink blazer and lavender shirt (which somehow looks good on him). He makes a face acting like the injured party he isn’t. Lupita was there too; Angel calms the group of workers down and they seem to come to some sort of agreement.

Monica and Misael seem to have the proof of forgery papers; she hides them in a planter.

Finally, Armando is getting some medical attention; he is on a stretcher, Alma beside herself in grief. Doris is also there with Loli and she appears to be appalled by Rebeca’s indifference.

Gabriela brings over the papers to Don Emilio but they aren’t the ones that prove any fraud. Cris and JE calm him down and reassure him everything will be all right.

Elena calls Angel about Santiago. Angel rushes to the hospital where Renato is. Renato says something important but I don’t understand; the camera pans to Angel’s startled face.

Santiago is on the floor of a room chained up. Misael is there calling him an idiot.

Rebeca (bare midriff) is at Monica’s. Misael comes in and she kisses him as he asks why she is there. Uh oh Monica greets her warmly to his confusion. I believe the gist of their conversation is that she thinks Rebeca is perfect for JE! She seems to want to help Rebeca take him away from Angel so she will be rid of Angel.

Agent Corral is talking with Angel. Does she ask if she conspired to help him? Angel gives her a bit of attitude..

Jimena talks to JE about Renato.

Rebeca walks up to JE, he is curt, looking busy and annoyed. She tells him that Angel helped Santiago escape. He flashes back to Angel telling him Santiago is innocent.

Elena is back at the hospital, telling Angel that JE is worried about her.

Said JE, hears Rebeca’s lies spin in his head, as his anger increases. He calls himself an imbecile seemingly for believing Angel.

Jimena is with Renato and her son. Looks like it’s tacos for the guys. Jimena smiles as they leave, looking at her wedding ring. I hope she isn’t reminiscing but wondering how much she can sell it for.

Rebeca and Misael argue about the new “plan”. He tells her JE is in love with Angel as they aggressively couple.

VIVIR #19 Part 2 of 2

Angel comes in to an angry JE glowering at her. He says something about Renato and accuses her of helping Santiago to escape. He talks about his sister; how happy Dulce was. Angel fights back, saying this isn’t love or a marriage. He tells her to get out of the house! My heavens, he’s even packed her bags for her. She takes her bags and leaves, no crying, no begging, dignity intact. After, he cries I note with much contempt..

Doris and Rebeca talk. I believes Doris is asking about Antonio.

Angel suffers remembering JE’s notes of love and his lies. Renato seems to tell her he suspects Rebeca of causing trouble. She flashes back to seeing JE in the barn with Rebeca.

Alma is at Antonio’s bedside, soothing his head, Lupita is there too comforting her. Alma tells Lupita that Rebeca threatened to turn them into the police for kidnapping. Lupita is appalled. Still, Alma defends Rebeca to her niece.
Rebeca is hugging Elena (as viewerville cringes).

Romina gossips to Misael about what she heard about the papers. He tells her he is impressed; I don’t think he is. He is offering her some kind of opportunity.

JE pours himself a stiff drink and talks with Don Emilio. Angel fingers her wedding ring (she should sell hers too) as Jimena comes to comfort her. Jimena’s son is going to help take care of the plants. He asks Jimena about his father; she says he’s busy. I bet. She calls Icky and the poor kid is happy to talk with him. They make plans to get together.

Brayan is watching Luis leave his apartment and then breaks in. He calls for Lucas who doesn’t answer as he is listening to music. Brayan confronts him about Santiago being in jail and hits him hard on his injured ankle.

Santiago is being questioned by Agent Corral.

Doris calls Icky telling her his son is coming over. She is not pleased.

Bruno calls Misael telling him Santiago is being booked.

Corral accuses Santiago of killing Dulce.

Rebeca is at the restaurant podium and signs for something (more papers?)

Angel and Elena talk about the restaurant bills. Elena seems to actually accuse Angel of being responsible for Santiago’s being arrested and then for disappearing! Por Dios Elena says before she flounces out. Poor Angel!

Angel bends at the waist in grief as Rebeca slithers in, holding her hand. Frida is brought up and Rebeca says she thought Frida was dead. She pretends to apologize to Angel…

Brayan confronts him about Ramiro being in jail and hits him hard on his injured ankle.

Ramiro is being questioned by Agent Corral.

So...I am officially done with J( Jekyll and Hyde)E. It took only a few words for Refrida to have him believing that Angeli is helping Santiago. He Parker her bags after hearing a couple sentences from a persin be barely knkws. That's it for me . I think poor writing is making this galan look silly stupid and easily manipulated . I dont want this couple to get back together. I'd rather see Angeli with faithful Renato , but I think he is destined for heartbroken Jimena.

Whenever Monica speaks , I am mesmerized by those red lips enunciating every syllable in the most exaggerated way .

Believing the worst about Angel the first time was reprehensible. This? Unforgiveable, especially as you noted, coming from Rebeca who he doesn't know.

I am always sidetracked by staring at Monica's delivery rather than trying to figure out what she's saying, "those red lips enunciating every syllable in the most exaggerated way". :)

VIDA Ep. 45 Part 1 (some scenes combined, others condensed significantly, 'scuse the typos)

Rol accedes to leave! But when he goes to pack, He curses Paula and Pepe and spews that it's better that he kill them rather than see them together! Meanwhile, Paula asks Rosa to go help Rol pack (Whyyy?)

Lor is still with Isa marveling at the idea that they both went to their favorite place where they carved their initials in a tree.

Emi-Lu are walking as Emi confesses that he knew the time would come when he would have to tell her about his past. He assures Lucia that he no longer has a drinking problem; he can control it. Lucia tells him that she trusts him right before Pepe calls asking Lucia where she is since it;s getting late and she has school the next day. Lucia assures that Emi will take her home soon.

MAL asks Reni why she didn't mention that Emi HAD a drinking problem. Reni scoffs that Emi still has a drinking problem. When MAL tells Reni that Lucia only got closer to EMi, REni assures that she will make sure that relationship ends soon. MAL then starts to get cramps.

Rol is finishing packing when Rosa enters to help him. Rol starts insulting and reproaching her since she is a hypocrite and she is there to help him and Nat with "this problem." Rosa retorts that she is tired of lying and refuses to continue doing so when Rol and Nat are up to no good! Rol tells her to be careful...not just with him, but with her daughter too. As he tells her that she came to the house based on lies, Paula overhears and questions him. Rol tells her that she is too trusting of the people around her...except him of course since he has always been there for her (to control her). Rosa tries to explain, but Paula won't let her continue since Rosa is a good woman and has been like a mother to her.

Nat is having fits because Rol isn't answering her calls. Reni struts in asking why she is so upset and keeps telling her to relax, but Nat worries because she needs to talk to Rol since she and Paula have the appointment with the notary the next day. Reni then tells Nat her plan to get Emi, her "baby love", back--she's going to stop trying to make Emi believe that she needs him; instead she is going to make Emi realize that he needs her...she will bring him back down to where he used to be.

Lor continues to woo Isabela, but Isabela is still confused about her feelings and asks for time--lather, rinse, repeat.

Emi explains to Lucia that his problems started when his father died; he started to drink not to feel good, but to forget his loneliness and forget about everything and everyone/ Everyone told him things would get better, but little by little those people disappeared; and he felt all alone. He couldn't talk to his bro because Diego was too young; and his mother buried herself in work. He didn't know what he wanted; the only thing he knew was that he didn't want to suffer anymore so he partied..until something happened and he realized that he could not continue like that anymore. That's when he met Reni who was also going through a bad time with her parents and they helped and supported each other. That's also when Emi got into sports. Emi promises to never drink again if Lucia swears that she won't leave him. After she swears, Emi thanks her and comments that now things are much better--he has Lucia and his family. And his mother is different now...she is much closer to them. Emi is 100% sure that nothing bad will happen to them again.


 

VIDA Ep. 45 Part 2

Diego is with Andrea. He tells her how bad he feels about not knowing about emi's problems. When he states that Emi should have told him and so that they could help him, Andrea comments that some things are not easy to talk about...like Diego not telling his family that he is gay. Andrea then shares about Rafa, MAL and the baby. WHen she brings up that her father still won't tell her anything about her mother, Diego suggests that they get his grandfather to help them get some info since Lor has gotten so close to Rafa.

MAL takes herself to the hospital...and the doctor tells her that she lost the baby! (I hate to say this but the baby is better off sleeping in peace than growing up with this heartless witch).

Rafa and Lor are at a bar. Rafa shares why he didn't go with his father to Spain...but he would have liked to have gone to show Alex that he is the best father in the world. He didn't go because he didn't want to leave Mal alone...if Lor had turned out to be his father, Rafa would never forgive him for taking 38 years to come look for him. When Lor asks about Pepe, Rafa tells him that Pep is the best...Pepe supports...despite the fact that he stole Pepe's woman.

Next day--

Rosa takes Paula an energizing juice...and confesses that she is Nat's mother/ As Rosa starts to explain,Lor walks in, so Rosa tells them both that Nat brought her to work here so she could be close to them...Rosa supposes that Nat wanted her to help them because of Paula's illness. Paula comments that she thought Nat didn't have a mother...because Nat told her that her parents were dead! Rosa shares that, as a child, Nat was never satisfied...she always wanted. When Lor assures Rosa that she was a good mother, Rosa wonders what good it did since her daughter doesn't acknowledge her.

Diego is watching Emi sleep. When Emi wakes up startled, Diego tells him that he couldn't sleep because he was very worried about Emi. When Emi assures that his drinking is in the past, Diego questions why Emi has a bottle in his bureau.

Rol and Nat are in bed. Nat reproaches Rol for having threatened Pepe and worries that Paula won't sign the new testament. Rol tells her that Paula is going for another treatment and will be weak...she'll sign the document because Paula wants a father for her children. When he suggests that Nat, who Paula trusts, talk to Paula in his favor...Nat tells him that the kids know that Rosa is her mother.

Lor tells Paula that it's been sometime that he has been losing trust in Nat. When Paula mentions that she is going to go sign her new testament, Lor asks her to take the document to another attorney. Paula argues that Nat is her best friend, her associate...and, as she states that she has left her company in Nat's hands, Paula's light bulb turns on!

Emi again assures Diego that drinking is in his past, Diego asks why the bottle is there. Emmi replies that he hasn't touched the bottle in years...he forgot to throw it away (so how did it get to this house, I ask!). Emi swears that he is fine now. Diego then tells Emi that he plans to go to And's school.

MAL assures Rafa that the baby is fine...and convinces Rafa to get married in a week! She also convinces him to take the job with Lor.


 

VIDA Ep. 45 Part 3

Gracia tells Rosa about Paula's kids finding out that she is Nat's aunt. As they talk, Paula walks in and assumes Gracia knows about her tumor. After Gracia confirms, Paula asks for her opinion about her and Pepe. Gracia tells her that Pepe is a good man and deserves to be happy with a good woman...or the rest of his life! If Paula can;t give him that, then Paula shouldn't be giving Pepe hopes.She apologizes for being so honest, but Paula wants honesty. Gracia knows that Pepe can make Paula happy, but wonders if Paula can make Pepe happy under her circumstances. Gracia doesn't doubt that Paula is doing everything she can to improve her health...then asks if Paula thinks it's fair to Pepe if her treatment doesn't work. When Paula asks if that is something Pepe should decide, Gracia reminds her that Pepe doesn't know about her illness.

Pepe is trying to convince Teresa (who is the mother of the kid who is bothering Teo) to talk to her son Hugo. After she argues that her son is an angel, Pepe asks why then is her son so angry and mean to his son. Teresa tells him to ask MAL...because Teresa threw her husband out of her house a few months ago after he confessed that he had slept with MAL.

Pepe then gets a call from Paula who asks to talk to him...she has many things to tell him. As they talk, a woman walks by and falls to the ground. While Pepe stoops down to help her, a man in black quickly approaches and stabs Pepe!! Paula, who hears the commotion, keeps asking Pepe if he is okay...as we see the man in black go to his car...and in the reflection on the window, we see Rolando taking off his mask!!

And so the episode ends!!

Rgv Chick, your marvelous insight is interwoven throughout this splendidly written recap. You clarified so much I did not understand.

I had a feeling all along that Mal would lose her baby. Although it was sad, I wasn't surprised. Of course she is now going to rush Rafa into marriage. Would we expect anything else??? Nopis.

Rolando, not content to have killed just once, sets his eyes and knife on Pepe. That thrust looked painful as he stabbed Pepe, eyes glistening with insanity.

Rafa will have to deal with the aftermath of deceit. Some meant kindly (Lor), some not (MAL). "...if Lor had turned out to be his father, Rafa would never forgive him for taking 38 years to come look for him" ensures that Rafa will have some bitterness to swallow once he finds out the truth. That said, if Pepe can forgive him for his betrayal, Rafa should have no problem forgiving Lorenzo.

So now Paula knows Rosa is Nat's mother. She accepted it rather kindly I thought although it was a natural reaction considering it is Paula...Conversely, I do hope Paula listens to Lor's advice; hopefully, her eyes are open a bit wider as to who Nat is.

"Emi-Lu" (love) are so sweet together. I'm sure we all cringed though at "Emi is 100% sure that nothing bad will happen to them again". I would not take that bet!

Just as Paula is FINALLY going to tell Pepe, fate takes another detour. As I've said before, if Paula doesn't tell him, Rolando will and that will truly be disasterous.

Diana, thank you for this delightful and very helpful recap. I only got to watch it quite late and I still have a bit to watch.

I got lost multiple times and only your recap got me back on the right path. And also wiktionary once or twice.

Just too much going on for me to keep up. The only thing I know for sure is that I would like to vote JE off the island... er, off the show. The guy is a looney toon, but not funny. Almost anything anybody says to him about Angel makes him think she's the worst person in the world. Angel would be better off without a love like that, but he is probably a fate she can't avoid.

Rebeca went full evil tonight, shocking even poor Doris with her indifference to Antonio's suffering. And Doris has problems of her own.

Monica, who is quite creepy lately, surprised me. She had a place ready to hide the documents but left soil on the floor for Rebeca to notice.

About Jimena, "Jimena smiles as they leave, looking at her wedding ring." She said something to herself as the guys left, I think it was something like she's thinking she is not very attractive. Is she interested in Renato? Earlier Renato looked still interested in Angel.

In any event I think Jimena is now looking much better, and Renato could do much worse.

Poor Ramiro, not just a burglary but now a murder charge. He better get some info on the murder and then tell them he has had that tattoo only a few days. Maybe Agent Corral is playing him, but otherwise it's hard to believe that they would charge someone on the basis of having a particular tattoo.

Misael is becoming a bit more human, and so is Doris. Neither Rebeca nor JE is; maybe they deserve each other.

Thanks Diana, my friend, you don’t give yourself enough credit! Your daily recaps prove to us all that you understand a lot more than you think! You may not get it all but you get most of it and relay it to us with such compassion and flare. I’m betting recapping will increase your understanding more quickly too, as they say, the best way to learn something is to teach it.

One correction - the info Monica and Misael hid wasn’t the papers proving the forgery, it was all the evidence from the night of the robbery, ie. The video tape, etc. from the night Dulce died.

I was distracted by computer problems (with my work computer) and didn’t get all the stuff at the factory but I heard that Angel made some deal with the farmers (probably the same ones they helped yesterday) to sell product straight to the fabrica at a good price.

When Renato, Angel and Elena were talking in the police station, Angel said it didn’t make sense that Santi would try to escape since he wanted to prove his innocence. This just makes him look guilty. Renato suggested that someone could have forced him – ie. Kidnapped him – to keep him from testifying. Later when Corral accused Angel of helping Santi, Angel told her she watched too many cop shows (LOL) and told Corral she better find Santi fast because he’s injured and perhaps in danger. She said, if she didn’t Angel could sue her for negligence!! Which seems far-fetched to me, but I suppose you could argue some negligence in allowing a prisoner to escape.

This brings me to my biggest problem with JE, other than the obvious believing a stranger over his ‘true love’; does he really think Angel arranged to have her brother stabbed in prison? So he could be transferred to the hospital where Angel arranged for someone to drug the doctor (or did they kill him) and bust Santi out of there??? Who exactly does he think he married?? Maybe if Santi had silently slipped away, I could see him believing or at least wondering if it’s possible, but this? I hate when shows are so quick to try make us believe that people would believe the most outrageous things about their loved ones with minimal provocation! It makes me wonder if there ARE people out there who would believe this crap! BTW, Rebeca also told JE that Renato was Angel’s accomplice in springing Santi.

The fact that Monica wants Refrida to seduce JE and steal him from Angel is just proof that Monica’s real beef with Angel can’t be her low social status. Refrida’s status is lower (as far as Monica knows) and she has no qualms about that. Though she did tell Misael that he couldn’t possibly be jealous/interested in Refrida, because she’s just a waitress! LOL

I was relieved Renato told Angel she can’t trust Refrida!!! But at the end, Refrida says that she lost a sister too, who was kidnapped, and her parents never saw her again. And that’s when Angel told her about Frida; so now Angel is thinking they have even more in common. Sigh.

Icky is icky, but at least he answers the phone for his kid and agrees to see him, unlike Romina!!!! Hahaha, don’t feel bad for Doris at all!

Thanks Diana, I enjoyed your recap. I agree with you about the wedding rings. They both need to sell them. If they get back together they deserve new rings. But I’m putting Angel along side Jimena, why would you want a husband that treats you that way. I think I’d enjoy JE and Rebeca pairing up. I wonder how long it would take JE to see he made a mistake, and Rebeca has ice water where we have blood.

Monica is playing right into Rebeca’s hands, and Rebeca did nothing to encourage it. She’ll be able to make a play for JE and Monica will tell Misael it’s part of her plan.

I feel sorry for Ramiro. I hope he thinks to say he just got the tattoo. He should be able to put two and two together and figure Doris did this. It seems like an unusual tattoo, if I were the police I think I’d be wondering how there are two suspects with the same tattoo. I kind of wish they had gotten Brayan involved. He’s bad news.

I didn’t like Elena blaming Angel for Santiago’s arrest. She saw the tattoo and described it to the police. I think Elena must have spoiled Santiago as he was born right after she lost her husband and daughter. Maybe all this will force him to grow up.

I think Rebeca signed for a check. Either insurance or from a bank. But she signed Jimena’s name. When Elena finds out all this, and that she’s her daughter, she’ll be crushed. Why do they all think Rebeca is so wonderful.

Meanwhile I’m looking forward to Doris and Icky entertaining his son. Should be interesting!

Good work, Diana.

I am appalled at the bad writing on this series. JE is too easily manipulated for him to be effective enough on biz for his abuelo to want to trust him with the family business (which due to one line I now think is tinned or frozen foods). Well, at least Mejia isn't insisting on comic relief in every episode.

I also vote that Angeli and Jomena sell their engagement and wedding rings.

Rebecca is as heartless and almost as vicious as Ginebra of Receta but not half as smart. She is counting on sex appeal but all those tattoos make her look trashy.

I was never able to tolerate Gabriela Spanic but her exaggerated lip movements in this story look ridiculous. That must be from a combination of her lips having been both inflated and overdrawn. I also wonder if she hates lipstick as much as I do (I can't stand how it feels and hate leaving stains of it on glasses and cups).

During the scene of Santiago's captivity I wondered whether the sound that almost drowned out Misael was a chainsaw motor.

I appreciate that I'm not the only one who is finding that trying to keep up is challenging. I struggled with almost every scene last night and I thank you for your kind support.

Your take on JE was very insightful: "The guy is a looney toon, but not funny. Almost anything anybody says to him about Angel makes him think she's the worst person in the world. Angel would be better off without a love like that, but he is probably a fate she can't avoid". He is a disaster of epic proportions but top billing pretty much cements his (and her) fate. Sigh.

I liked the subtle attraction between Jimena and Renato last night...

"Misael is becoming a bit more human, and so is Doris. Neither Rebeca nor JE is; maybe they deserve each other" was perfect. I've always believed in fairy tales and JE lost any right to be the knight in shining armor riding to Angel's rescue. He is the one who put her in harm's way.

Ahhh, so it was the robbery evidence that Misael and Monica were hiding!

I saw some fire but couldn't understand the words. Good for her!!

No need to add anything further about JE. You said it perfectly.

What really upsets me is that everyone has opened the door (so to speak) to make Refrida's path to JE one she can simply waltz down. I expected Monica to be some kind of impediment but nopis! SO frustrating.

Rebeca can surely see how her family suffered when she was "lost". Instead of softening her heart, it is hardening it.

Yet unbelievably, as you noted, Rebeca didn't have to do a darn thing. Monica invited her "in" all on her own. SO frustrating!

Thank you for bringing up two very important occurrences. The first being Elena blaming her own daughter for her son's arrest. So unfair. The second was that Rebeca signed for a check which will heap even more blame on Angel's slender shoulders.

Rebeca seems to have no spark, no shine and no soul. We see it but sadly no one in this novela seems to. Except for Renato...thank heavens someone sees clearly.

Excellent point as to one of the many reasons JE is unfit to lead. I also had no idea what the family biz is so thank you for explaining it's "food". I will go with that.

While both are stone cold, Ginebra is where she is due to meticulous, methodical cunning planning. Rebeca has gotten to where she is mostly through luck; doors being opened for her before she even knocks. Ack.

Thanks Rgv Chick, I read your recap and realize how much of different conversations I miss.

I hate to feel relief at MAL losing the baby. I think she would have left the baby when she got her hands on some of Lor’s money. Which apparently she still plans on getting! I’d pay her to leave.

And then reading that the boy is apparently picking on Teo because his dad slept with MAL. I did not realize that was being said last night. Maybe Pepe should tell Rafa that. Although I doubt that would make Rafa stop loving her.

Since we’ve seen Emi drink in that very bedroom we know he is lying about never drinking. After reading all that he said to Lucia, especially using 100% sure, we know Reno’s new plan will work. He’ll soon be drinking heavily again.

I’m glad Paula accepted Rosa but Rosa should explain that she was supposed to spy on the family, and also that Rol and Nat were very close.

The little town doesn’t seem to have a lot of crime. Surely someone will suspect Rol.

It's a relief to know that Rosa has a conscience but I am still not understanding Gracia and the whole thing about how Gnat ended up with Rosa.

At lest Malena will not be having a baby with fetal alcohol syndrome. Considering how badly she treats her existing children that would have been beyond hellish. So now she is trying to rope Rafael into marriage and will she try to fake a pregnancy? How long could she possibly get away with that?

The attempt on Pepe's life was no surprise. Gnat will probably figure that out in half a second.

So maybe Mal's other cramping episodes and ER visits were real. I agree with everyone, it is sad to lose a baby but it is better off without Mal as its mother. And that just feels horrible to say, but it is the truth. She'll be sure to marry Rafa before he learns the truth.

Too much time is spent, in this episode, on Emi’s drinking past, so this tells me it will resurface and not in a pretty way. #harbinger of doom?

Now we wait to find out if Nat or Rol orchestrated the attack on Pepe.

Diana, thank you for your kind, supportive words. With the way Mal was traipsing about and drinking, it didn't/t surprise me either that she would lose the baby. It makes me wonder if Teo's hearing loss is due to her carelessness.And yes, I did cringe when Emi commented that he was 100% sure that nothing as bad as the death of his father would ever happen again.

Liz, "Maybe Pepe should tell Rafa that. Although I doubt that would make Rafa stop loving her." Yeah, Rafa is completely blind when it comes to MAL...well, ;let me take that back; he does know what she is like and still chooses to take the risk..so good riddance to him!

Urban, "So now she is trying to rope Rafael into marriage and will she try to fake a pregnancy?" My best guess is that MAL will fake the pregnancy only until she is married to Rafa and gets some money out of it. Then she will have an "accident" and tell Rafa she lost the baby. Not a spoiler, just my crockpot theory :-)

Doris, I agree with your #harbinger of doom. If Reni can't get him to drink voluntarily, then she'll use other twisted means...maybe a spiked drink or drugs???? And I think Rol acted on his own, just as he did when he killed German.

Diana , so true that Refrida has " no spark, no shine, no soul." Her grim , joyless countenance is depressing . Even bunnyhopping with Mis seems like a chore. I hope that Renato is going to eventually be effective in blocking her march of revenge.

At the beginning of this show, did someone comment that the factory ladies were making marmalade ? So are they growing oranges on the ranch ? Back in the day, the telenovelas would take us into the real fields and orchards and into the factories . We saw agave being grown and then sent into the factories to see it turned into tequila in a " Destilando Amor. In " Herencia,we were often in the avocado groves . Why is this ranch such a mystery. I grew up on a farm , so I like to know what these ranches are producing.

After JE's dumbness and verbal abuse of Angel last night, I am hoping Rebecca makes a complete fool of him. I sure hope Angel doesn't plead with JE to please please trust her. Time to X this fool.

Monica thinks she can get Rebecca to do her bidding and then kick her to the curb. If Monica really believes Angel was with JE for the money, why does she think this lowly tattooed waitress is hanging around her own son?

Goodness, even Elena came down hard on Angel. If Elena keeps this up, I'm going to enjoy Rebecca making a fool of her too.

I don't know what all Renato knows about Rebecca, but kudos to him for warning Angel.

Maybe Bryan isn't all bad. I'm curious to see if he will try to help Ramiro out of this mess.

Rebecca noticed some spilled soil on the floor beneath the plant. Wondering if she puts 2 and 2 together when she's aware Misael hid implicating stuff from the night of Dulce's murder.

About the mystery farming, Luciano’s grand passion is hydroponics. He has mentioned its advantages and sustainability several times. I think that’s why the enclosed plots? As to what they grow, remember Fatima’s juices? Ingredients were to be grown hydroponically, she rattled off a number of fruits and vegetables, including beets and guayaba.

VIVIR # 20 Part 1

Alma goes to the church chapel, Lupita, Loli and Marisa are with her. She asks Lupita and Marisa give her a moment. Alma prays to the Virgin saying that Rebeca is mentally disturbed, she has been since she was a child, in fact, she is loca! Loli has stayed behind and has overheard…Alma begs that she never repeats what she just heard, por favor! She cradles Loli in her arms.

Luciano picks up Fatima and kisses her soundly. They look happy and in love. How refreshing. More kisses…

One of the workers calls Monica who yells at him and then hangs up…

Javier answers the phone when Lucas calls Mati who is not happy when he finds out she isn’t there, but in fact is with Gabriel.

JE greets Rebeca wearing a “Baby Girl” shirt (gag me). She starts right in, asking about Rebeca, feigning concern. Luciano shows up and upbraids JE, telling him Angel is a wonderful woman.

Luis and Lupita argue about Rebeca I think as Lucas listens.

“Mi Alma” Antonio calls out as Alma kneels by his bedside. Next, he asks for Rebeca and Alma tells him she isn’t there. He is clearly suffering and mustering up every bit of strength he can, tells Alma Rebeca is with her family! Alma is startled and asks Antonio to tell her more but his last words on this earth have been uttered. Antonio flatlines and passes away. Alma is inconsolable.

Doris calls Rebeca about Antonio but Rebeca is still eyeing JE so hangs up as she has bigger fish to fry. JE and Luciano are discussing the documents/evidence as Rebeca tries to overhear. She tells JE she is getting a taxi. Does he gallantly offer to drive her? Nopis, he brushes her off saying he has to get to the office. She says something about documents and of course his curiosity is aroused. Doris calls back telling Rebeca her father died. Crying out, pretending to be devastated, JE hugs her as Misael comes out looking furious. Misael pushes JE away from Rebeca. JE explains that Rebeca’s father died but Misael pays no mind and is still angry. Rebeca breaks it up (sort of) and JE leads her away to his car. Misael looks livid.

Mati and Gabriel take care of a rather small but beautiful black horse. Lucas is texting her, he takes his clothes and jacket and heads out, buying a bus ticket. We know full well where he is headed.

Misael complains to mami about JE and Rebeca. He doesn’t like her current plan, arguing Angel and JE are in love. Used to be, the patio corrects him.

Monica calls her little henchman back; she seems to be happy. If anyone can add what she wants him to do, please do!

Sandy and Fatima discuss a horse who seems to be gravely ill.

Two quick scenes where Brayan talks with Ramiro and Angel meets with Corral.

VIVIR # 20 Part 2 of 2

Santiago is still in handcuffs chained and on the floor. Misael uncuffs him but Santiago’s trials and tribulations continue as he is injected with something. He then passes out.

Angel is ready for the lineup. Ramiro is suspect #3. At first the suspects face forward. As soon as they are asked to turn around, Angel sees the tattoo…Angel says #3 is who she saw that night.

Elena calls and tells Angel that Rebeca’s father passed away. Rebeca and JE arrive at the hospital, Rebeca runs straight to her mother, putting on quite the show for JE’s benefit. You aren’t alone she tells her mother. Doris is also there as JE takes it all in. Suddenly, Alma asks Rebeca to forgive her father and kneels before her! Words fail to convey how awkward it was. JE looks understandably perplexed.

Gabriel helps Mati alight from her horse and Lucas is waiting. He wastes no time, throwing the first punch which Gabriel returns in quick succession. They continue the fight as Mati calls them animals.

Back at the hospital, Lupita rips apart the little scene unfolding before her, blaming Rebeca for her father’s death. Rebeca in faux tears, upbraids Lupita, going to her mother for comfort. Alma defends her saying Antonio was sick to which Lupita glares and leaves, all under JE’s watchful eye.

Luciano and Romina meet and he gives her divorce papers (did she actually say something like “money, honey?”) It is obvious he loves his children, she seemingly coldly indifferent. She takes the papers and leaves. He looks a bit rueful.

Mati is still trying to break up the fight. Sandy and Javier arrive at the tail end. They go running off.

Bruno and Misael talk as Romina enters. Misael has something important to ask her. There is something going on at the hacienda he wants her to look into but she must be very discreet.

Fatima and Luciano talk and he tells her he met with Romina. She acts jealous but he tells her about the divorce. They later carve their initials in a tree amidst kisses.

Mati and Gabrel are together as Lucas is left playing ball but he and Javier seem to strike up some sort of deal.

Icky and Jimena are uncomfortably sharing space when their son comes in ready for his visit to Icky’s new love nest. Jimena is heartbroken, takes off her wedding ring and throws it! Now she needs to get up and retrieve it so she can sell it. She might as well get some cash out of the deal because as of now, all she has to show for years of love and devotion is a broken heart.

At the wake, there are candles, flowers, and a nice portrait of Antonio. Marisa comforts her friend. JE puts his jacket around Rebeca, who is still wearing her t-shirt. Doris’ friend is hot to trot ready to make a play for JE and Doris has to hold her back. Luis arrives and sits with Lupita and Loli. Do we know yet who the man is who is with Marisa, a friend?

Rebeca thanks JE for being there. He says he knows she wants to comfort her mother. He goes to make a call. Alma comes up and asks who the man with her is. Is he your brother she asks? No Rebeca says he is my future husband!

Diana, thank you, thank you, thank you! I would have a really hard time with this TN without your recaps. The TN has sucked me in and I now want to see it through, but it can be a mess at times. You make it understandable.

Lots of excitement, punching and slapping and injecting tonight.

Lucas took a bus to wherever the hacienda is? And then punches Gabriel. This is a bit crazy. Now to see if Mati tells Lucas "You must really love me!" or starts singing "You don't own me!"

Much as I don't really want to, I feel a bit sorry for JE. Poor Rebeca, so "distraught" over losing her father, then accused of all sorts of things. JE didn't know what to make of it, and was getting whiplash trying to follow the conversations and accusations. I have to admit that I'm curious to see if Rebeca manages to get her tentacles around him. I suspect she will.

I'm still feeling a bit sorry for JE even though I think he's a first class jerk. I think Monica arranged to have his horse become sick; just called up some poor worker she has under her thumb. Sad.

I don't know where the black pony fits in, but it is a cute little horsie.

Romina is one cold fish when it comes to her family.

I have started turning off the TV at the end of the episode, I find having an idea what will happen in the next episode annoys me more than it draws me in.

TU VIDA a/k/a LIES & SECRETS ‘R’ US # 46 Part 1/2

This is a mini-cap, some scenes combined, some not worth mentioning. Plz excuse typos and add anything you like to this.

Natalia is freaking out to Rolando because Paula stood her up (probably to sign the will?) Rolando lines. Natalia lines. FFWD>>>

PEPE is still stabbed per yesterday’s episode. Breaking with longtime telenovela tradition, nobody loaded him into a donkey cart or a taxi---- an ambulance was called! Paula goes to the hospital to check on him. No organs were damaged (yay!) and being a typical man, he says it’s no big deal. (men, right?)

Pepe is released that same day and they walk home. Paula has a weak spell and Pepe is hurting from the stabbing, so they sit down along the way. They talk. He loves her and wants them to work and be with her for years and years. (ruh-roh, Paula) She says “same here” but still doesn’t tell the truth. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Paula tells Pepe she’s going to do everything in her power to be with him.. They “te amo” each other.

RENATA LA RATA – Emiliano comes to her place and Reni’s “boyfriend” is there. They argue over Reni telling Mal about Emi’s past drinking problems. Blah blah blah FFWD>>>

DIEGO sees a new guy at their school, surrounded by girls and can’t take his eyes off him. The new guy keeps looking at Diego. Your recapper calls “gaydar.”

ALEX gets a phone call from Isabela, to tell him that Pepe was stabbed. Alex is in his hotel room in Spain. This looks like a really nice 4-star hotel and I’m particularly fond of the wallpaper. It was more interesting (to me) than their conversation where Alex figures out Lorenzo is there, gets in a snit, and ends the call quickly. Okaaaayyyy….

MARCOS wants to help Gracia find the daughter she surrendered for adoption. He’ll track her down if she’ll tell him where she surrendered her. Gracia wonders if she is happy (if it is Natalia, the answer is HECK NO!) This is a sweet scene. Gracia wonders if she is an abuela, or her daughter hates her. She tells Marcos that it’s best to leave it alone.

LORISA – Lorenzo tells Isa that he fears losing Paula and doesn’t know how to save her. (It *is* difficult to be a parent and so powerless) All he knows is to love her with all his heart and he needs Isabela now more than ever. They’re talking sweet nothings and have the classic Hallmark Channel Movie “almost kiss” when Mal and Rafa show up to interrupt. Malena shows she's got class when she tells them to “get a room.” (ugh...)
 

TU VIDA # 46 Part 2/2

MAL tells Isa and Lor about her self-diagnosis of her “sex addiction” and the look on Isa’s face is “for the love of God” priceless. Mal spews the usual drivel about her "problem" and that Rafa is helping her overcome it. Like he would have a clue. Bless his heart.

Malafa leave and Isa asks Lorenzo if he ever heard of such a thing. Lor says, yes, actually he has, in the City and they even have support groups just like AAs have. So we’ve had our PSA for sex addict support groups, while Isabela is convinced MALena has invented this to justify her libertine ways. Lorenzo points out they are not in a position to judge. Lorenzo is right, but I’m siding with Isabela on this one.

PAULEPE - Pepe is now walking reeeally well for someone who was stabbed in the torso just a few hours prior.. It’s a telenovela miracle. Also, he’s not wearing the mandatory neck brace. We’ve come a long way in 2024, but I digress. ;-)

While they’re talking, Pepe strokes Paulas hair and a strand comes out in his hand. I “googled” this and learned something new tonight: that radiation can cause hair loss.
Pepe tells her Lucía had the same thing happen to her and she changed her hair conditioner and it stopped. Paula says in her case, it’s something else, and the Patio is holding our breath for Paula to TELL HIM THE TRUTH FINALLY … when Teo’s teacher approaches. Oh good grief, how much longer will the writers drag this out???

Pepe & Paula talk with Teo’s teacher about the difficulty he’s having, he’s not eating because he’s depressed about his parents’ divorce, etc. etc. etc. but the school is doing everything they can to help him and work with him on this.

MARCOS on a mission – goes to Rosa and tells her that Gracia had a daughter she gave up for adoption, and will she help him look for this child? Does Rosa know where Gracia surrendered the baby and he’ll do the rest. Rosa says it was at a convent but none of the same nuns are there anymore. They’ve all long since been dispersed to other convents.

EMI is walking with Lucía and he tells her “te amo.” He appreciates her support of him and kisses her and at just that moment Rol rolls up in his big black bad@ss car. He tells Emi he needs to talk to him, Luciá is dismissed and Emi gets into the Batmobile.

ROLANDO has a stepfather--stepson talk and tells him that Paula asked him to move out. Paula is making big mistakes in her life. Emiliano basically says he doesn’t want to get pulled into their drama. Rolando ups the game and tells Emi he needs him to look after Paula, because PAULA HAS A CEREBRAL TUMOR AND HAS A SHORT TIME LEFT TO LIVE. (Whatever Rol hopes to achieve by this treachery, I hope to the telenovela gods that it backfires on him.)

Doris, tonight ended on a dark note but you combatted the overarching sadness with your superior wit and wisdom.

Not even the tightest beanie would have me believing Pepe was immediately up and about immediately after that shiving he received. Vital organs being unscathed aside, that was a full on, forceful stabbing. I must commend Pepe for taking it like the man and galan that he is.

Up till now, Marcos has been mostly annoying but he is a good guy and his heart is in the right place. I don’t see him and Gracia together, but it’s less of a stretch of the imagination than previously.

I wish Lor and Isa had been able to have their long-awaited moment without Mal showing up to gloat.

I hated watching Paula nervously run her hand through her hair no doubt waiting to see if more hair was going to fall out.

Rol imparts Paula’s secret to her vulnerable son in the cruelest way possible. With his threats and erratic behavior, Paula should have realized this was a distinct possibility. What I don’t understand is what Rol thought would happen. Does he think Paula will now run into his arms?? Surely this will finish him with her. Speculation only but this may also have a domino effect with Pepe finding out now as well. What a disaster!

Diana and Susan, I'm with you on the "Time is money, honey" business. Romina is really thinking of herself as an up-and-comer, impressing Misael and all. What she doesn't realize is that she is swimming with sharks. Misael may not be a murderer but he can be quite ruthless otherwise.

She also said to Luciano that she wants to go over the divorce agreement "con lupa", with a loupe or magnifying glass. Not literally, I'm sure, but hot shot licenciada that she is, she's not going to sign anything without going over it carefully. That actually makes sense, but coming from her it sounds somewhat insulting.

I'm looking forward to Thursday and NO episode  :-)

I do worry about Diana though. What will you do, Diana, with no telenovelas to watch and no recaps to write? Take a nap? Celebrate with ice cream?

Diana - Thank you for your input. As you can see with my recycled avatar, the telenovela beanie has been brought out of storage. ;-) I agree, Marcos is now in the possible match column for Gracia. (a more likely match than with Alex) He seems to be a good person at the core. He also doesn't seem to have many secrets to report to Lorenzo lately, which was the main reason he was sent there to work. Did the writers forget that?

Thanks so much Diana, great recap. We see how cold and calculating Rebeca is. Pretending she has a bad connection so Doris calls her back when she’s near JE. I am now rooting for her to seduce him He deserves to be made pretty miserable for how he’s been treating Angel.

Lucas just attackingGabriel should be a red flag for Mati. I no longer feel bad that he’s throwing his life away. I do feel bad for his parents, but his hoodlum friends have influenced him.

I was hoping Antonio would survive, I liked him. And Alma has no one now. We know Rebeca won’t be there for her.

I wonder if Misael will realize that JE has been Rebeca’s goal all along. And I also would like to know what Monica has against Angel.

Also wonder if Doris will feel any guilt if Ramiro is charged with murder

Thank you Diana! This was an action packed episode!! A death, a fight, a tree carving! I enjoy reading it through your lens and can feel your irritation at the 'baby girl' t-shirt from over here!!

I personally was laughing at 'Alma begs that she never repeats what she just heard' Oh Alma! You can tell that girl is crazy from 50 miles down the road!!! Unless you are JE!! That said, it still bugs me to no end that a 'good' character like Lupe goes all righteously indignant on Rebeca for being upset with Alma and Antonio. There are plenty of other reasons to dislike her, but it's like all the good loving barrio characters think that Rebeca should just accept that she was abducted without batting an eyelash, give her abductors a big hug and move on? There's not one word of reprimand for Alma or the now late Antonio.... or do the others not know? They'd have to, Rebeca told them all at her surprise party. Also odd to me, Alma seems not to know now who Rebeca's real family is, but a few episodes ago when she found those newspaper clippings, she seemed to know exactly what she was looking at??

I wish I found Fatima and Luciano cute!! I want to, but I just....nah. Something is just off to me about this pairing. I'm annoyed by the fact that the 'Te Amos' started almost before they'd even had a proper conversation! Now they are talking about forever? They seem like two teenagers in lust, not two adults in love.

Monica wants her henchman to make JE's favorite horse sick so he'll fly off to the hacienda and take care of the ailing horse, thus getting him out of the way. Misael has a new plan to somehow implicate JE in the fraud, hoping that when it does come to light JE will get blamed. JE is so stupid and useless at this point, I almost hope Misael succeeds! But Monica didn't want Misael to go to the hacienda to plant evidence himself, since that would draw suspicion. So that is, I think why he's sending Romina! It wasn't said, but it's the logical conclusion.

To Angel's credit, she didn't actually say that Ramiro had done it, she just said that the tattoo he had looked like the one she saw, and it could possibly be the same, but she had no way of knowing if it was the same guy. I would think in the US, the ID of a tattoo by the sister of someone who had the identical tattoo and hadn't seen the face of the suspect, would NEVER hold up in court, but you never know with novela justice.

Part of me thinks Lucas is ridiculous and immature for his punch first ask questions never, approach of Gabriel, but the rest of me acknowledges that Gabriel is definitely interested in Mati and Lucas is jumping to the right conclusion so I'm not sure, either way violence isn't going to get him anything. Andy put it best, and I'm guessing the song will be "You don't own me!"

In her defense, Paula had seemed to try to tell Pepe about her health but all these interruptions happen. But she takes so long she never gets to the point.

Rol telling Emi was just wrong in every way. He is one nasty SOB. I hope Emi tells Paula it was Rol. And she finds a lawyer to annul the marriage pronto. And not Nat.

Lorenzo seems to be on board with Rafa and MAL marrying. I wonder how much he knows about MAL. Not what we know, not even what the family know probably. But he’s saying they’ll be grandparents so I’m guessing he’ll be an ATM for MAL.

I’ve had it with Alex. He went away to give Isabela “space” to decide. Then flips out when he hears Lorenzo’s voice. Not sure what he expected to happen. But he left years ago and look what happened.

I appreciate your explaining that Romina was going to carefully inspect the divorce document which of course she or anyone signing should. I guess Luciano wants to get rid of her quickly as it was he that filed. I'm surprised she wasn't the one who initiated it so she could make sure she "gets hers". Ack.

So in terms of Thursday... With no recap to write, I feel like a kid getting an unexpected day off from school. What to do?? Ice cream is a distinct possibility along with a bit more sleep. Heaven.

JE doesn't deserve Angel, pure and simple. His overreaction, beyond cruel right after they married was a huge red flag. The fact he turned on Angel again less than 48 hours later is unforgiveable. But forgive she likely will.

Lucas reacts without thinking. I believe there is hope for him but he needs to calm down and tone it down.

Good question about Doris. Selfish, greedy and grasping, she does appear to have a bit of a heart. If she knew why Ramiro was given the tattoo, to be set up as the fall guy for murder, she certainly should feel guilty.

I've also wondered why Monica hates Angel so much. Jealousy? Angel is the opposite of everything Monica is and stands for.

Thank you for clarifying Angel acknowledged the tattoo but didn't finger Ramiro definitively. Corral seems pretty shrewd so I look forward to see how she handles this.

I like Luciano and Fatima! A couple who actually seem to like and trust each other, who treat each other with respect. How rare. How refreshing.

I hope vile Monica doesn't succeed in hurting JE's horse to the point of no return. That would be monstrous!

MAL is transparent . I want money, Honey. She seems pretty proud of her sex addiction. I am tired of looking at her angry face . Rafa is a dolt.

Darcy, Luciano and Fatima did fall in love quickly , but sometimes it does happen just that fast. Fatima must have seemed like an angel after spending years with Romina .

Speaking of Romina, that was quite a work outfit she had on . She must be following that advice about dressing for the job you want.

I guess I don’t see Rebeca as having caused Antonio’s death. She could certainly have been more caring and perhaps could’ve called for help, but Alma could have called for help too. Unless we are saying she caused his death by upsetting him, ie. Causing the heart attack, but I don’t know about that. I don’t think a healthy person has a heart attack because of extreme upset. He had a heart attack because his heart was unhealthy. And as far as what she said to upset him, she told him she was going to report him for a crime he did commit. Would she be wrong for doing that? Perhaps I am alone, but I just don’t understand why Rebeca is wrong for being upset with Alma and Antonio and they are the victims.

Rebeca is heartless of course, crazy and will undoubtedly do countless things to earn her anvil, but I don’t see Antonio as one of her victims. Am I forgetting something?

Susan, wacky situation with cooking pots! Bersan went to Ceyda with super-lucrative deal to cook. Ceyda was excited and pitched idea to Bahar.
As Bersan walked away, she called somebody and said she had snagged two dummies/suckers. Bahar cooked and dragged pots to that guy, was a test sample.

Creeped out, Bahar told Ceyda she had a bad feeling, wanted out. But last night Ceyda talked her into more cooking. Some kind of scam, but what?

I want to clarify that it wasn't my intention to lay the blame for Antonio's heart attack at the feet of Rebeca. I should have worded it differently.

However, healthy people can and do have heart attacks, and stress is a contributing factor. I do think that Rebeca threatening to report them caused Antonio a great deal of stress especially because of fear of what might happen to Alma. I was merely noting that I do think her accusation was a contributing factor.

I didn't say Rebeca was wrong for wanting to report them and I never said Antonio or Alma were victims. I certainly do not believe that they are...

Thanks Diana, for the clarification. I wasn’t thinking about just what you said, or even mostly about what you said; but more about the reaction from all of the characters surrounding them. It doesn’t seem like there is any reprimand anywhere in the story for this crime. None of the neighbors batted an eyelash, the family is only mad at Rebeca for being cold and heartless to her ‘Parents’ and even Doris, Rebeca’s BFF, is clearly team be nice to your family. It just seems to me like the writers are painting this crime as a non-crime and holding Alma and Antonio as innocent and I find that both puzzling and alarming.

Darcy, ITA. Alma and Antonio caused so much hell and suffering for Elena, although otherwise they're kind and loving. Oh well, there are kind and loving people in prison, which I'm guessing Alma will face eventually.

I like Lucas but that was some macho B.S. with Gabriel. Andy, I'm hoping Mati sings "You don't own me!"

There are a lot of odd occurrences in this Salvador Mejía TN. Rebeca's non-adoption is one of them, and everybody just accepting it as well. Alma and Antonio had no right to keep Rebeca, and Antonio, with his newspaper clippings, was 99.99% certain he knew who her real family was fairly soon after finding Rebeca.

Alma was quite crazy after losing her real daughter, and maybe before, and Antonio loved his crazy wife, but you can't just keep kids you find in the forest.

It gets worse. Alma asked others to leave her alone for a few minutes in the chapel to pray for Antonio. She prays, out loud of course, and notes that from an early age Rebeca was found to have mental problems. Then she discovers that there was a little girl (name?) who had stayed behind and had heard her prayers. Alma makes the little girl swear to never repeat what she heard.

Isn't there a telenovela rule that the little girl will eventually blab? And perhaps Rebeca is not totally evil, but quite cray-cray crazy.

They really are dragging out Paula's talk with Pepe.I just want it to be over. I wanted to scream when they got interrupted. It's interesting that no one Paula talked to about her relationship with Pepe agrees she should be with him. I do understand them, but maybe she shouldn't have asked for their opinion as it's for Pepe to decide. Only someone like Rosa would be on Paula's side.
Poor Emiliano. Rolando is desperate. His tricks don't seem to work, but when his limit is murder, it's dangerous to underestimate him.
If Emiliano believes Renata, he is stupider than I thought.
I wonder if Gracia will ever tecide to look for her daughter.
Does Isabela even know what she wants? She might get neither of the men if she keeps hesitating.

To add to this I think Rolando's motive for ratting out Paula's secret to Emiliano was to destroy him because he can't legally control him. Emiliano may be emotionally immature but he is a legal adult. He should at this time be learning how to manage money and either to prepare to work in Paula's company or be in college for medicine, the law, accountancy, or technology. Knowing that Rolando knows things about Emiliano that are none of his biz it is no leap of the imagination that this could drive him to drink... enough so that he could die of alcohol poisoning or get into a fatal accident.

Diego has not told Paula he is gay, but we are all sure Paula would be okay with it. Why doesn't he know that? Rolando tried forcing him into a conversion camp in the hope that he would escape never to return. Fortunately, that backfired.

I don't think he would have any qualms about killing poor little Suzy.

He also fails to see that Gnat is smarter than he is and she knows he killed German.

Pepe should be in hospital for at least three or four days after those stab wounds.

Monday’s episode revealed that DNA test showed Arda is not Ceyda’s son! Some unexplained switched at birth? But Ceyda is ignoring , thinks Arda came to her for a reason. Against Bahar’s advice, Ceyda is not telling Emre (father) that he has a biological child somewhere, Ceyda is letting him think she was catting around when got PG.

I think Ceyda was a prostitute or mistress when Bahar moved into the building . Ceyda ignored Bahar , but then Bahar helped her when a scary mob guy was harrassing abd beating her . Maybe Bersan was a prostitute, too . i dont know .Ceyda and Bahar became very close , and Ceyda loves Enver because he was kind to her .

No idea what happened with Arda . Ceyda was trying to get him to live with her ,but the person who had him wouldn't agree. I dont know where Ceyda and Emre's son is or how the babies got switched .

VIVIR #21 Part 1

JR bids a frost bitten goodbye to Angel as he leaves the wake. Rebeca, still wearing JE’s suit jacket hugs Angel.

Angel questions Rebeca about her relationship with JE. Rebeca doesn’t tell her the truth of course and Renato’s words reverberate in Angel’s head.

Elena sits with Alma, gently consoling her. I believe Alma might be putting two and two together as she looks alarmed at the end of their talk.

Breakfast at Icky’s is not going well, Icky making excuses for his son to an upset Doris. He is my son he mutters. Doris sticks her tongue out and the kid does the same (I had to smile). Saved by a knock on the door: it’s Jimena who comes to collect her son. The door closes and Icky runs after them.

Cris and Adolfo are talking when JE shows up. He mentions the investigation but JE purposely cuts him off.

Santiago’s guard stands among Santiago’s belongings but I don’t think we actually see Santiago. The guard gets in a car with Misael and Bruno.

Javier is leading a blindfolded Mati to Lucas and a picnic. Mati smiles as music plays. Lucas apologizes and says “te amo” as she repeats it surprised. You are the girl of my dreams. A nice picnic follows with laughing, hugging and star gazing. Gabriel shows up in the shadows, looking on sadly as he leaves.

At the burial, Alma holds a bouquet of white flowers which she places on the grave. Rebeca is there, kissing her and crying. Shockingly, JE is right next to Rebeca.

Monica goes into the office as some equipment is being removed. She calls her snitch and gets a report.

Fatima and JE are with the beautiful black horse. He is very ill Fatima says.

JE is looking at Rebeca’s wall of crap. She comes in and returns his jacket. He is comforting and consoling. Fatima calls him as Rebeca looks on angrily. What is it she asks feigning concern. My horse is sick he says. He is very important to me. She wants to go with him but he says no stay with your mother. She insists and is glued to his side as he walks out the door.

Elena, Gi and angel are at Agent Corral’s. She tells them Ramiro is Dulce’s killer. Elena and Gi evaporate into grateful prayer; Angel looks concerned.

Luciano is kissing Fatima when Romina comes in!!! Who are you Fatima asks? I am Luciano’s wife she retorts.

The poor horse is on the ground, JE bent over him as Rebeca looks on with some interest but no sympathy. My companion, my heart he laments. The vet is there and the news is not good. OMG, JE asks for a gun. Are you sure the worker asks? JE takes the gun and shoots the horse. I recoil as the vet was right there, couldn’t he have given the horse a lethal injection?? I did read that shooting is done as it is supposed to work quickly and the horse remains calm but I am more than skeptical. I feel sick. This is not real I keep telling myself over and over. I invoke Judy B’s it’s only a story, only a story.

Luciano makes the introductions as Javier and Mati run in, thrilled to see their mother. Romina of course plays the doting mother, hugging them to her. Fatima gives an understanding and sad look to Luciano.

Somehow Rebeca intercepts Monica’s lackey and takes whatever he was holding in his hand.

Elena, Gi and Angel talk, Angel saying Santi is innocent.

A quick scene of Lucas on the phone with someone as Gabriel hovers in the background shaking his head.

VIVIR #21 Part 2 of 2

JE picks up a picture of him and Angel as there is a knock on his door. No surprise, it’s Rebeca, bearing a bottle. She pours him a stiff drink which he throws down his throat. She gives him another, then a third. She takes a sip. And there goes the fourth. They toast. Then a fifth. I think we can see where this is going.

Angel greets Don Emilio. He tells her JE is at the hacienda. She wants to leave immediately although he urges her to wait till the morning. She heads out regardless and we see the huge moon, looming in the night sky.

Fatima and Luciano talk about his divorce, his children. Fatima seems conflicted but Luciano hugs her tightly assuring her he loves her.

Romina walks into one of the bedrooms pursing her lips in barely concealed disgust. She says something that upsets Mati.

Rebeca slithers over to JE and sits on his lap kissing him; he responds without hesitation. In his mind, he is envisioning Angel …

Yup, here comes Angel rolling out in yet another ill-advised night drive. Why is there never a flat tire or overheated engine when you need one??

JE comes to his drunken senses and tells Rebeca “no, no, get out”. Undeterred, she goes to Plan B, putting drops in his drink. After he drinks it, he almost falls over. She guides him to bed and takes his shirt off as he passes out. This time, Angel has reached her intended destination without delay (rats) and enters the house. She walks into the bedroom, sees the clothes stress on the floor and then Rebeca wrapped in JE’s arms. In bed.

Intense shock and grief are mirrored in Angel’s face as she walks down the stairs and is met by Sandy.

Wherever he is being stashed, Santiago gets up and actually comes up with a viable plan. He turns his flashlight on and off shining it out the window. Ahhh, Don Emilio sees the light so we realize Santiago is in some sort of barn/shed on his property.

Rebeca tries to rouse JE but he is unresponsive.

Angel stands by her car thinking of her and JE by the waterfall asking why, why. Fatima and Luciano come up and she tells them JE has betrayed her with another woman. They say no. Yes, I saw them in my room. Luciano leaves…My brother loves you Fatima insists. She says she saw him with Rebeca. It appears Angel has seen more than enough.

Misael is on the phone with Romina and unfortunately he sees the signal Santiago is sending.

Luciano runs into Romina. She brushes him off.

Rebeca picks up the picture of JE and Angel as she stares at him still fast asleep.

Fatima and Angel are still talking and I believe I missed something important here. Angel thanks Fatima and hugs her.

The night passes as we see Don Emilio at the scene of the crime. He sees the handcuffs and picks up a bloody towel he looks around in a state of shock. It appears Misael must have gotten to Santiago and spirited him away. Again.

Cris and Fatima talk as Monica and Misael enter undetected. Did Fatima tell her about JE and Rebeca?

JE wakes up rubbing his face and head. He looks around the bedroom as Rebeca comes in. She kneels on the bed as he instinctively leans away as he is no doubt feeling dread and fear as to what transpired.

Diana, thank you for this great recap. Your recaps often remind me of things I saw but didn't fully understand or forgot. I don't know how you can recap an entire show and cover just about everything; I get confused about all sorts of things. On top of that your recaps are actually great fun to read.

I have to wonder what Alma is going to do now, if anything. There could be a very interesting conversation, like "Elena, Rebeca is not really my daughter, she's your Frida, and she's as nutty as squirrel poop, and evil to boot. You can have her back now."

I think Agent Corral has to be playing Elena and Angel. She now knows, if she didn't before, that at least two guys in CDMX have the same tattoo. What other proof do they have that Marino is the killer? Sheesh! A tattoo! I don't believe it.

Rebeca looked a bit disappointed with JE. Mission not completely accomplished? Was she hoping to actually have sex with him and so permanently separate him and Angel? If so, maybe she should have used a little less of that drug. She's lucky she didn't kill the guy.

Don Emilio always seems to offer good advice, and now he's a detective investigating strange goings on at the hacienda. Not bad for an old guy who was at death's door not long ago.
Good for him!

But "Misael is on the phone with Romina and unfortunately he sees the signal Santiago is sending." I completely missed this! I miss quite a bit, unfortunately. And I'm only watching one novela.

Poor Gabriel. It looks like Mati does have a thing for Lucas.

VIDA Ep. 47 Part 1
ROUND AND ROUND THEY GO...

We start with Emi whois telling Rol saying, "No! No! No! My mother can't die...you're lying...my mother promised she'd be with us!" Rol continues spewing the hurtful truth telling Emi to calm down...his mother needs them both. Rol explains why he is so worried about Pau...who doesn't listen to him anymore. Emi is the only one who can help him with Pau. Rol reminds Emi how he was there for them when his father died. Emi cries that Diego and Susy can't know about this. He sobs that his mother cannot die...if she dies then all his happiness will end. Emii tells Rol to stop lying and gets so upset that he gets out of the car still saying that

As thunder roars, Lor calls Isa. He wants them to meet at "their place." Isa agrees and goes out without a raincoat or any time of protection against the rain!

PaulEpe continue to go round and round--Paula explains for the umpteenth time why she married Rol...who is a good friend who helped her through a difficult time (which he caused). She mentions death is something no one can escape...and then we get the umpteenth interruption when Rosa runs in with Teo and Susy.

Rosa goes to tell Gracia that Marcos went to talk to her and asked where Gracia had left the baby. She asks Gracia if she really wants to find her daughter.

Isa (who is totally dry) arrives at the bridge, but stays in the car as the rain pours down. Then we get a very oddly placed montage of Paula drying up Susy, Pepe drying Teo, Emi walking in the rain and falling to his knees sobbing and crying out a pain-filled NOOOOO!

In a flash, the rain stops (the ground looks totally dry) and Isa gets out and walks to Lor. She tells him that "this" is going nowhere. SHe uses her sons as an excuse. Lor asks what about us? She replies that they don't matter. Yes we do! counters Lor. Isa then tells Lor to leave town and never return. Lor gives her a firm NO! He is not giving up on them...Isa throws out more excuses....Lor is relentless until he finally grabs her and kisses her...and she doesn't push him away!

Diego and Andrea walk out in the town and are discussing getting Lor to help find her mother when they see Arturo. Diego kids Andrea about liking Arturo and she denies it. Diego leads Andrea over to Arturo and introduces himself. When he tells Arturo that he must know Andrea since they've gone to school together for several years. Arturo seems to recall seeing Andrea around. Andrea replies tha hse has seen him around too, but since she doesn;t want to be one omore of his conquests, she could care less about him. The rain finally reaches town.

 

VIDA Ep. 47 Part 2

Paula and ROsa talk about losing hair due to the treatment. Paula is terrified. Rosa encourages her to not give up. As they continue talking, a soaked Ei walks in crying and pleading with Paula to tell him that it's not true! He falls to his knees, hugging her and asking her to tell him that she is not going to die! Paula tries to calm Emi down and tells him that he needs to be strong; she will need his support when she tells his siblings.Emi keeps repeating No, No, No! It can;t be true! Paula assures that it is true. Sheknows this is hard but they have to accept reality. She will need him more than ever. Paula explains about the treatment she is getting. Emi thinks that then she will be cured, but Paula's look tells him otherwise...the doc told her she might live another 8 months, but that was 4 months ago. Emi is sure that the protons will get rid of the tumor. He then realizes that Paula knew about the tumor when he was going to leave with Reni. Paula confirms and adds that she knew she would probably never see him again. Emi tells her that he would have never left if he had known. Paula again tells him that he needs to be strong because he will have to care for his siblings...they will need him. Emis asks that she not talk as if she is going to die...she can't die. Paula wishes that Emi hadn't found out by overhearing her convo with Rosa.To our dismay, Emi doesn't clarify how he found out! ARGHHH! He tells her that it doesn;t matter how he found out, the important thing is that he knows and he can be with her. Paual apologizes for being such a bad mother, but Emi tells her that she is the best mom. He assures that she is going to live. (And you might want to turn the sound off now because) Susy walks in screeeeching for her mother! Susy wants to go out and play in the rain...and suggests that they all go.

Rafa is at the window waiting for his mama when MAL calls; she needs to see him NOW.

Lor and Isa are still making out under the bridge. Lor and Isa agree that the lies can't continue. Isa suggests that Alex should be the first to know that Rafa is not his son.

Gracia calls Marcos who is in the city and getting ready to go into an office to ask about her baby. Gracia orders him back, but Marcos is adamant...until she tells him that if he returns in less than 2 hours, she will give him a kiss.

Arturo shows up at the restaurant. After Andrea hands him the menu, he tells her that he liked how she talked to him. He likes her openness...and wants a true friendship with a girl like her...and he wants a friend who doesn;t want a relationship with him. Andrea agrees.

Marcos runs into the restaurant kitchen ready for his kiss. Gracia avoids kissing, but then finally concedes and gives him a quick peck on the cheek. He wonders if he will ever penetrate her stone heart. She tells him she does have him in her heart...along with all her other friends.

Pepe shows up at Mal's place. He needs to talk about their kids. He explains about a kid who is bullying Teo. As he tells her about his talk with Teresa, Rigoberto's wife, and mentions that she messed around with Teresa's husband, Rafa overhears and quickly asks Mal who she messed around with. MAL asks them to be quiet...because "he" is here...Rigoberto came to use the restroom. (Yeah right!)

Paula and the kids play in the rain...and Lor joins them.

Isabel arrives home (finally drenched) and daydreams about her kiss with Lor...until she is surprised by Alex who tells her he has returned.

And thus the episode ends...until FRIDAY!

I wonder if the writer's kept asking each other "Now how can we frustrate the viewers even more?? And how long can we frustrate them before losing viewers?" BIG EYEROLL!!

As always, several scenes combined. I was too frustrated to go back and proofread, so excuse all the typos. If something doesn't make sense, I will be glad to clarify...just don't make me watch this again! LOL

I had high hopes for Agent Corral. They aren't exactly dashed but you're right, there is no definitive proof of Ramiro's guilt especially as there appears to be multiple instances of the same tattoo popping up.

Don Emilio is quite the sleuth. Misael must have acted quickly to get Santiago away. Smart of Misael to hide him in plain sight but he didn't count on Santiago's (or Don Emilio's) resourcefulness. Neither did I...

Rgv Chick, although most of tonight's drama was heartwrenching, you persevered through all of the emotional angst to create a poignant, sensitive and insightful summary.

"Round and Round They Go" indeed! I share your frustration on all counts.

The actor playing Emilio did a wonderful (and far too convincing) job as his heart broke, knowing he would lose his beloved mother. "Paula wishes that Emi hadn't found out by overhearing her convo with Rosa. To our dismay, Emi doesn't clarify how he found out! ARGHHH!" OMG, I was in shock right along with you - why on earth didn't he tell her he found out from Rol!!

I did enjoy Isa's scenes with Lor. She does love Lor and finally gave into her feelings. Alex's return was ill timed but it should force Isa to make her choice once and for all. It's either the man with whom she has built her life or the man who remains in her heart as the love of her life. Pick one.

All of this and Pepe is still no closer to finding out about Paula!

In the MAL, Pepe and Rafa discussion, I did understand that Pepe confronted MAL about her cheating with Rigoberto but I had no idea he was actually in her house! She is never going to change. When is Rafa going to wake up??

You explained everything so clearly and even if you hadn't, I would never, ever wish or want you to have to watch this again!!! 😊

Thanks again, Diana. I appreciate your recaps very much! Well, they went there. We'll see tomorrow if they go all the way; i.e., J.E. is convinced by Refrida that they did the deed. That's how they used to play it back in the day. I hate this whole disgusting business of a stupid galan falling into a trap.

I don't think it was ever clear to me whether or not Angelli left the hacienda to drive home. That's what I would have preferred her to do, leave with some dignity.

Misael walked up and overheard Angelli and Fatima talking and that Angelli found Rebeca nude in bed with J.E. We got a blazing blue eyed look.

What the hell is wrong with Romina? Guess she's just a dog in the manger. She only wanted to review the divorce papers in case there were some financial advantage to her. But now she's seen the man she dumped with another woman, she's not ready for the divorce. Mati is catching on to her mother quickly. We saw the look on her face when Romina looked disgusted at the idea of sharing a bed with her.

Monica is the most despicable person on the planet. She had J.E.'s horse poisoned. Not sure if that was discussed in yesterday's recap and comments. Her plan was to get him to the hacienda so Misael would be in charge.

I guess the Refrida actor is going a good job, because I feel like throwing shoes at my TV every time she shows up. Egad, that awful pretend grief over Antonio's death. Looked like Alma bought the whole act. But, yes, she did get a glimmer that maybe Elena's lost daugher could be Refrida.

Agent Corral told the ladies they also found stuff from the robbery in Ramiro's house. She didn't go into detail, but Misael must have planted some 'evidence' at Ramiro's after he was arrested. Which should be enough to convince even Angel that her ID is good.

Monica's plan with the horse made little sense, beyond being cruel what does it accomplish to kill the horse? JE could shoot him today and come back to the city tomorrow!! If she made the horse sick without killing it, JE might stay and nurse him back to health, but to just go to the hacienda long enough to shoot the horse, get hammered and tricked into (not) having sex with Refrida and he'll probably be back at the office by noon! Also, Monica sent the goon to Refrida so it wasn't an interception, and the guy had the drug for JE, so Monica is complicit in the plan to drug JE and make him think they had sex.

Novelera, I think Angel did go home. The last thing in her and Fatima's conversation was Fatima offering to drive since Angel wasn't in any condition to do so, and the next morning Fatima was in the city with Cris, so I'm guessing they drove back together. Fatima and Angel's talk by the waterfall was mostly the predictable 'he cheated on me, I'll never forgive him' stuff but Fatima was trying to get Angel to stay and not just let Refrida get away with destroying her marriage. Fatima told Angel that she believed Refrida had been trying to seduce JE since day 1 and told her about the kiss. Then when Fatima offered to drive her, Angel said she was doing exactly what Dulce would have done and they hugged.

Yes, Fatima told Cris about JE and Refrida and as Novelera pointed out, Misael overheard it. Gabriel also overheard Lucas saying something about how the police let him go because Ramiro convinced them he had nothing to do with the robbery - but I don't know that he heard anything 'smoking gun' just enough to give the idea that Lucas is involved in shady business.

One thing that might end up being important, before they went to the hacienda when Refrida and JE were at Alma's house; she told him she had recently found out that they weren't her bio parents and that Antonio had been violent with her!!!

Andy, I like your suggestion for the conversation between Alma and Elena! That would be fun!

My heart was breaking over the horse. They are such beautiful animals and JE's heart must have been destroyed. Monica should pay in spades for this.

Refrida is just like her, only colder. She has not yet managed to boink JE and I hope she doesn't succeed in doing so. I do hope that Alma comes to her senses and tells Elena who "Rebecca" really is.

Totally agree about Renata. I am old-school about bleached hair meaning that if you are going to bleach your hair blonde don't let the roots get too long. That looks cheap and horrible.

Of course, she is as horrible a person as Malena.

I couldn’t believe all the drinks JE had. And then Rebeca drugged him! I thought it would be devine justice, when she couldn’t wake him up, that he never wake up. She could go to prison for murder. And he had his arm around her at the burial. He’s a real fool. Angel deserves better.

I saw the interaction between Agent Corral and the women but didn’t realize what was said and that Angel was having doubts.

I was surprised Don Emilio was able to get to the shed. He must be improving physically. I hope he’s the one to solve everything. His daughter is so cruel, having the horse killed.

I wonder what JE will do. Will he try to win Angel back now that Santiago has been cleared. And we have to wait an extra night to find out.

That lovely horse being intentionally poisoned and then having to be put down was sickening. It was very hard to watch. Such unfathomable cruelty.

While nothing can atone for keeping a child that wasn't hers, Alma must speak up. Elena's broken heart deserves to hear the truth at the very least.

Refrida is looking for sympathy and for future guilt in Elena by building a false narrative. Although it doesn't look as bad as it did in the opening two episodes, Alma still has mental health issues that might make others question her credibility.

Antonio should have reported the finding of Frida to the police once he knew who she was. Elena would have rewarded him with enough money to get mental health assistance for Alma. It's a crapshoot, though, as to whether Frida would have turned out any better than she now is. She was already clever enough to avoid abusing Angeli in front of her parents. Like Rhoda Penmark in The Bad Seed.

I hope Angel rebuffs any and all overtures JE makes. He doesn't deserve her...

JE (Just Embarrassing ) is an idiot . He acts like Refrida's novio at the funeral as devious Refrida plays on his sympathy . We all knew where things were headed in that bedroom . Yes, JE, such a good idea to let Refrida into your room and accept glass after glass of tequila from her. I guess nobody sent you off to school with the advice " Make good decisions."

Romina dropped Luciano and her kids like hot potatoes , but she definitely didn't like seeing Luciano with pretty , young Fatima . I guess she won't sign those divorce papers now that she sees Luciano has moved on to greener pastures (hacieda reference )as it were .

I guess Mati is meant for Lucas after he gets back on the straight and narrow again , but country boy Gabriel would be a good choice .

Santiago was signaling from a room on the ground floor of that building .

My theory that Natalia might be Gracia's daughter cannot be a good one. If Rosa adopted Nat and knew it was Gracia's daughter, I think she would be freaking out, and that isn't happening.
Maybe Gracia's daughter is the famous Zaida. THAT might be fun.

Isabela could be abducted by aliens at this point, and I wouldn't care. I would just laugh. She's such a hot mess.

And another PSA/infomercial on proton therapy, in case we missed it the first time.

Do any of these people own umbrellas? Televisa Wardrobe Dept. can't have been happy about all the soggy clothes.

Thanks Rgv Chick. That was great. But I blamed Paula not telling Pepe on interruptions and last night she had the perfect opportunity to tell him and didn’t. I know the kids came in but before that Pepe talked about hair conditioner and Paula went on about marrying Rol in case she died. So she could have told him.

Also learned two new things from your recap that I didn’t realize. I kept waiting for Paula to ask Emi who told him and totally missed that she thought he had overheard her conversation with Rosa. So frustrating! And she thinks Rol would be a good father for her kids! I hope Rol tells her about telling Emi so he could help.

I also heard MAL say he’s here, but didn’t realize who she was talking about. I wonder if this will wake Rafa up. Probably not.

Not sure why Alex showed up at home. He was going to make money in Spain and give Isabel space. He might have been a few days short of walking in on something he wouldn’t want to see. I don’t remember any passionate kisses between husband and wife.

Doris, I had the same thought as you when they were out in the rain in leather jackets. That’s a big no-no.

I keep thinking of the song from the musical Chicago, "He Had It Coming." JE can take all the venom he's directed at Angel and throw it at his own stupid self. He wouldn't listen to reason with Angel, and I hope she won't listen to him.

The good news from last night is that now Angel knows that Rebecca latched onto her only to get to JE. So we at least won't have to stomach any more scenes of Angel letting Rebecca get chummy with her.

One more thing. When Fatima told Cris about Angel believing JE cheated on her, Cris was wistful about the pain cheating causes. Fatima realized that's what broke up her mom's marriage and asked if lack of trust was why she never remarried. Surely the ex, Mauricio, will show up again soon, before we forget all about him overhearing Santiago accusing Misael.

I’m really having trouble liking Isabella. Usually I automatically like the good characters, but it isn’t working here. It makes me wonder if it’s intentional on the part of the writers. I like Lor and Alex OK, so I think i’d like both to move on from Isa. I think some of you have also
voiced this opinion. If it’s some “gran amor” still, I’m not seeing it.

I’ll be glad when Rafa’s ex shows up or for anything to move things along.

Mal and Rol are very menacing. I worry for Susi and Diego.

The recaps are so helpful as well as all the comments. I went back to watch Valentino in the Young love novela! Same wonderful voice and engaging manner that I like so much! Amazing to see that actors age, while none of us do, right? Ahhh, if only!

It's amazing how much I learn about the episodes that I watched but did not fully understand. It happens every episode and sometimes makes me wonder if I had dozed off while watching.
In any case it's a great help because, among other things, plot lines in the next episode now make sense to me whereas they might not have if I went solely by what I saw and understood just from watching.

I'm enjoying this day off, it's like a short weekend. By the end of the week I'm tired of this novela, but by Monday I'm anxious to get back to it. Friday should be good.

Well, we all knew what was coming. Just Embarrassing (thank you, Susan!) is in deep doodoo and will need a heavy duty shovel to dig himself out. And he can use that same shovel to hit Rebeca over the head...maybe it'll straighten out some of those loose marbles. I too hope Angel doesn't fall prey to his groveling and begging. He's not Just Embarrassing, he's also Just Exasperating!

If Monica doesn't go to prison for having the horse killed, then I hope she goes for being Misael's accomplice. Surely, the writers won't overlook that!
