VIVIR #46 Part 1

JE complains to Fatima that Rebeca is using his child against him, for vengeance. Fatima agrees that Rebeca is mentirosa. JE wants to be free, for Angel.

Elena is (rather insistently) trying to get Angel to soften toward Rebeca but Angel is not swayed. She believes Elena has purposely tried to ruin her life; and she’s not done yet (wait until she sees her room!) Santi who has wandered in, hugs his mother.

Lupe, along with friends and family are preparing to pass out Lucas’ “wanted” poster. She is appreciative of everyone’s support.

Loaded with an armload of not quite glossy 8 x 10’s, Loli is spied by an alert Pedrito. He leads her off in the wrong direction as Lucas hides.

Gabriela tells Cris she suspects Misael is Brono’s accomplice. She doesn’t have definitive proof but she remembers Don Emilio asking for the documents and then Misael (lying through his teeth) saying all is well that his grandfather was confused. Cris closes her eyes.. I believe Chris asks her not to share her suspicions with JE who has his hands full with his own problems at the moment (I’ll say…)

In a darkened bar, Bruno and Misael meet. Money seemed to be exchanged; if there was anything important said during their exchange, kindly share.

JE arrives and is attempting to speak with Gabriela when Rebeca shows (STILL wearing that hellacious “Honey” top). She starts screaming at JE that he is NOT divorcing her! Fatima enters to protest as Mau slithers into the corridor, listening intently. Rebeca then threatens to abort the baby! JE is beside himself telling her “I DON’T LOVE YOU” but his truth falls on deaf ears; she will not allow him any peace. She can do what she wishes with her own body. She hits his chest and storms out slamming the door.

Jimena shows up at David’s school. Apparently he hasn’t turned in homework in 2 weeks. It seems he has been spending his time playing video games with Icky. The teacher agrees to give him one more chance.

Fatima visits Angel at the fabrica, enthusiastically telling her how incredible it is. Fatima tells her Romina is living with his ex but Angel tells her not to give up hope. Fatima tells Angel not to give up hope as JE has asked Rebeca for a divorce. Angel shakes her head and hugs her.

Lucas calls Lupe and during their highly emotionally charged conversation, she begs him to return. He says he can’t. He doesn’t think his father cares about him. Or believes him. He tells his mother he only brings her misery. She promises him she won’t cry anymore. He asks her forgiveness and tells her he loves her.

Rebeca tells Doris she wants the baby so she can keep JE. She is going to ask Misael for help so that the DNA test shows JE is the father. She gets a text from Mau which she reads covertly. Basically, Mau’s threatened to spill the entire vat of tea unless she meets with him.

Home, Tina asks Angel if she needs anything as Angel looks sadly at her father’s picture. Rebeca shows her cruel countenance spewing more lies, saying she is going to be meeting with JE and they will likely be reconciling. Sigh.

Finally, Angel enters her room in disbelief. She first picks up the shattered picture of her and JE and puts it on the bed. Next, she picks up her doll as she surveys the devastation. As her eyes focus on the severed doll’s head, Angel blanches and leaves the room.

In quick succession, we see JE and Angel thinking of each other as the theme song plays.

VIVIR #46 Part 2 of 2

At whatever shady hole they’ve agreed to meet at, Rebeca goes up to Mau as some cheap disco ball lights flash. Mau smarmily congratulates her for her stellar acting performance when she threatened to have an abortion. He gives her the “I’m watching you” sign as he tells her he doesn’t forgive her. Staring harshly, he tells her a woman like her doesn’t deserve to have a baby. At that moment, she puts her hands on her stomach, wincing in pain. Viewerville and Rebeca simultaneously realize Mau has put something in her drink. Staring incredulously, she screams “what did you do maldito?”

Angel leans against the wall, tears streaming down her face. “Angel” JE asks?? “JE” she counters??? It appears they have both ended up at the apartment. He envelopes her in a huge hug and she entwines her arms around him as they kiss passionately. Angel misses him, she can’t stay like this any longer.

Rebeca is at the hospital getting an ultrasound with Doris. The doctor informs her that she lost the baby. Are you sure Doris asks the doctor. The doctor confirms and warns that Rebeca is also hemorrhaging. She might die. She asks Doris to contact her immediate family.

DE and Fatima are talking when Misael descends the stairs. Don Emilio asks why he is in his house. Misael mumbles some excuse and leaves. Don Emilio asks Fatima why Misael seemed nervous and wonders why Misael was in JE’s room. Viewerville nods, sadly knowingly.

Jimena has David at work. Renato is helping him with his homework as she looks on smilingly.

Don Emilio tells Fatima she is his favorite as she laughs delightedly. With a serious tone, he asks why she is avoiding the hacienda. She admits Romina is there and that the children are happy.

Mati is in her bed, looking anything but happy. Romina brings her in a tray and (always the concerned mother) sits down. Mati is worried as the thieves are still out there. Romina hands Mati her phone. Meanwhile somersaulting Lucas answers but before much could be said, his battery dies. Naturally, Mati thinks Lucas hung up on her. Romina hugs her but her eyes dart furtively.

Doris is agonizing over who to call when Misael calls on Rebeca’s phone. Doris tells him Rebeca is in critical condition and is in the hospital. He tells her not to tell anyone else.

Don Emilio tells Fatima that a person who leaves their family can’t be trusted; they are bound to leave again. He gently tells Fatima she too is abandoning Luciano.

Rebeca tells Doris no one must find out she lost the baby. Then, Misael comes in, face like a thundercloud asking why Rebeca aborted his son. Rebeca shakes her head and says no; it was Mau who spiked her drink. She cries that he needs to kill Mau! As pure hatred emanates from his eyes, Mau declares that he will.

And there, we end…until Thursday.

Vivir. Excellent recap as usual, Diana! "whatever shady hole": good one! Whoa! What an important dramatic episode! The miscarriage/abortion thanks to Mauricio, and Rebeca not wanting anyone to know about it, except, as it happens, Doris and Misael. Thanks to Misael, Mauricio's fate is probably sealed. How will Rebeca get people to believe she is still pregnant? Yep, Angelli discovers the havoc Rebeca has wreaked in her room, but does not react as strongly as I would have expected. And I too just knew that JE and Angelli would wind up in the same apartment--but what a passionate encounter! Dramatic irony when Fatima said that JE must be very alone. Renato is so nice, supervising David's homework. He and Jimena would be a good match. And of course Lucas's phone battery runs out just at the right moment for Mati to think he has hung up on her! One of the many rules of Novelaland! It's terrible that Rebeca lost the baby, but at the beginning of this episode I had been thinking that if it survived that the baby would be a mess if and when it was born.

I too am amazed at all that transpired in one episode! This was indeed dramatic as you noted.

We knew Mau was a swindler without a shread of conscience but I was surprised he is a stone cold killer.

Rebeca will only be able to hide her non-pregnancy for so long. I'm shuddering to think how much more damage she'll inflict until then.

I like Jimena with Renato too, they have good chemistry and he will certainly be a caring stepfather.

"A passionate encounter" was right!! I wonder if Angel will get pregnant.

Gala (Refrida) is certainly bringing the crazy evil .

Kim ( Angel) , on the other hand , who can play a very, very bad BSC girl, is sweet as sugar in this role .

That was quite a twist that Refrida accepted a beverage from Mau and lost the bebe. I guess Mau is going to be killed for good this time .

Thanks Diana, that was great. A fast moving episode.

I was hoping Rebeca wouldn’t lose the baby. I wanted JE to remain trapped with Rebeca and having to worry that she’d harm the baby. The way she destroyed the doll kind of showed us she wouldn’t be the best mother. And I’m still mad at JE because his anger issues and refusing to listen or trust the love of his life, got him into this mess.

I was surprised Mau gave her something to miscarry. I figured he was a two-bit crook, not a murderer. But now Rebeca will pretend to be pregnant for several months.

I thought it was funny that Doris didn’t know who to call. Rebeca doesn’t have too many people that really love her.

I thought Misael lived there too. His parents and all the relatives live there. I was surprised when DE questioned him about being there.

I’m back to thinking Jimena and Renato will end up together. He’s much better with David than Icky is.

It will be funny if Rebeca destroying Angel’s room leads Angel to move into the apartment with JE. I hope that happens and Rebeca figures out the why. Angela is too good. I loved to tattle on my sister when we were kids. I would have dragged my mother into the room so she could see what was done!

It appears Mau does have some lingering resentment for being run over and left for dead. He won't be so fortunate to survive the next time. Wh he did was unforgiveable.

It does seem Jimena might end up with Renato. Like Andy, I would like to see another Doris/Sebastian date and see where that might go.

Liz, I did wonder why Angel didn't show her mother the destruction Rebeca wrought in her room. She might have just wanted to get out of there and/or she might not want to have upset Elena. Perhaps it's best she didn't. If Elena had managed to make some excuse for Rebeca (likely) Angel would have been even more upset.

Thanks, Diana. This episode was chock full of action, surprises, gasp-worthy developments, and camp. You did them all justice.

First things first: even though it was just a photograph, we got to see Ulises del Olmo!!! The whole audience wins! For that alone, I give this episode 4 Flying Monkeys out of 5!

How cute was Pedrito with his little drum - helping his friend Lucas hide!

The conversation Bruno & Bangs (Misael) had in the dive bar went a little something like this:
M: Why haven’t you left the country? You’re under investigation (After handing him a briefcase full of cash).
B: If I go, it will raise eyebrows.
M: So will your arse getting arrested. With that money you can move without a trace. Scram until further notice.
B: You said you would make every move fullproof.
M: I have, but now is not the time. We have to wait until they find out who authorized you to make the transactions. They will turn their backs when they do.

Fashion plate: Angelli’s hairnet at the co-op really made her eyes pop. How have I never noticed this before? Such a pretty gal.

Doris was comic gold throughout. My favorite line: (answering an incapacitated Rebe’s phone): La Doris por aquí. ¿Quién por allá? I may have to change my outgoing voicemail. Meanwhile, I didn’t understand why Misael was at DE’s pretending to look for JE.

To be determined: I get the feeling Bora Bar (Where Mauricio vengefully raised the death count) is the same bar where Bruno & Misael were plotting. Also, remember when Frida told Santiago they’d eventually go clubbing? I bet we come back to this bar before it’s all over.

How many more episodes will Mauricio last? Place your bets now!

I enjoyed the siblings together. Fatima sees Rebeca for who she is and supports her brother in his desire for a divorce.

Seems kind of stupid for Lupe to be putting flyers all over the place so her son can be found...AND ARRESTED. At least she finally realized that Adolfo might be able to help Lucas. Too bad she kept telling Adolfo Lucas was away until he sunk himself with his "trap Brayan" plan.

Wow. Rebeca thought she could get Misael to help her with a fake DNA test so she can stay married to JE. Delusional much?

Liz, where these people live is confusing to me also. Sometimes it seems like Monica, Adolfo and Misael live in the same house as Cris and Don Emilio. Of course Don E questioned Misael, and he quickly said he was looking for JE when he was looking for Rebeca.

So the chef of a high-end restaurant has time to help a child with his homework? Doesn't resemble any of the chef things, fact or fiction, that I've seen. And, yes, Renato and Jimena seem like a slam dunk to me.

Looks like Doris has seen some TNs before. She mentioned Rebeca using un cojín (a cushion) to fake a pregnancy. I saw one long ago with Angelica Rivera in which she miscarried the baby she was using to trap Jorge Salinas. She then used fake baby bumps to keep up the trick.

A possible explanation for DE questioning Misael is, the house is large. Possibly Misael has a 1st floor room and shouldn't have a reason to be upstairs. I also believed he lives there.

I thought Monica, Adolfo and Misael lived elsewhere (?) although yes, they often seem like one large family living under the same roof. But if that is the case, why would Don Emilio have bothered to question Misael as to what he was doing (unless he had no reason to be on the first floor as you noted Kat). I suspect Misael was getting DNA evidence to falsely prove he is the father of Rebeca's baby.

Wow! What an episode. Diana, thanks for slogging through all of it and writing it up for us.

I'm also another one who is quite lost as to where people live. I know that Elena and the del Olmo family have a very nice house. Don Emilio has an even bigger house and grounds, but just who lives there I'm not sure. I had the impression that much of his family lived there, Cristina, JE, Moniquita and Adolfo, and who knows who else?
There certainly seems to be room enough.

novelera: Angelica Rivera and Andres Garcia and fake pregnancy. This sounds like Mariana de la Noche, another Mejia novela.

I must have nodded off a few times recently. Why does Lucas think Luis doesn't care for him? Is this more of Luis not doing his fair share?

Why did Mauricio do what he did? Granted Refrita tried to kill him, but he won't make any money from her now. And that was one nasty drug he used, whatever it was.
And now Misael wants to kill Mauricio. Things are getting dark.

But one thing did make me laugh, and I have to wonder if the show did this deliberately. Fatima and don Emilio are talking, she says to him that she's worried about poor JE, he must be feeling all alone now. And immediately after we see him and Angel busily making up for lost time.

I'm shocked and horrified by Mauricio's action. BUT do I feel sorry for the lying pregnant woman who used her pregnancy as a weapon AND stuffed her momma Alma, twice, with rat poison? Nope. Do I feel sorry for the biodad who killed (okay, not on purpose) his cousin and her soon-to-be-born baby and (on purpose) ordered Ramiro's death? Nope. I hope Mauricio survives to turn the tables on these two again.

I guess I do like JE a bit, because I did want him to find out that he never had sex with Rebeca in the first place.

Doris was funny thinking through whom to call about Rebeca. Her BFF is so wrapped in lies and hate, there was no one safe to call.

I did not see Mau's turn to the murderous side coming!!! How appalling!!! Like others, I saw him as more of a pest than a thug!!! Now of course, everyone will believe Rebeca got rid of the baby herself because she threatened to do so, which was horrible enough.

If Misael did live there, I don't think DE is the kind of grandpa who would question why he was on one floor of the house as opposed to another. It hasn't been clearly established, but I think it would have been if they all lived together. Especially given the Monica/Cris/Aldolfo triangle, that weirdness would be all over the place if they all lived together.

Just read all the new comments . Great! We are having fun with this novela, and truth be told, that is why I watch these crazy shows . Diana, you have been are faithful , fearless leader through this maze of revenge and evil.

JE has been a thoughtless , weak willed galan, but we need a love story , and he and angelic Angel are the star couple , so..... I have now forgiven JE and am hoping that he has now embarked on the hero's journey to becoming a better man because he was a big disappointment before he came crawling back for forgiveness.

We get a lovely reunion in the apartment far away from the maddening crowd of crazies. So, okay Refrida, enjoy life at the family home with mom and bro . I wonder if the maid will tell mom about the mess in Angel's room .

So...where are we going ? Refrida will hit the ceiling if\when she discovers that JE and Angel are in that apartment . Will she show up there like she did when they were in the hotel room ? Gala is doing an outstanding job of delivering the nonstop crazy , bitter itch .

My memory is not the best. But I did recall this morning that Misael first seduced Rebeca in his apartment. Does anyone else recall that??

Andy, I agree that Lucas' comments about his father seemed to come out of the blue. Most of his scenes with a parent have been 90% Lupe only.

Mau's atrocity against Rebeca seemed fueled by hatred which surprisingly overwhelmed his thirst for greed.

Is there any way that Misael could possibly be Mau's son??

Regarding the poisoning, the only pity I have is for the baby. I do not have any sympathy for Rebeca or Misael and agree with the astute reasoning you provided. Also, it was inhuman that Rebeca did not shed one tear for her baby; her only concern was that she lost her tie to JE (Misael in truth but)...

Thank you for shining a few bright lights on the housing dilemna. As to who is living in DE's mansion, I was trying to remember who was seated around the big dining table . If Monica, Adolfo, and Mistake aren't living in DE's mansion, they seemed to often be having meals there. Would both daughters and their families be living with their dad ?

Anyhoo, when DE asked sneaky Mistake what he was doing there, you could sure tell that he wasn't Abuelo's favorite nieto. Most grandparents are thrilled to see their grandkids anytime , anywhere.

Can't wait to see what happens next .

*The back & forth conversation between Psycho Fina & Slaker Berta at the prison, where Slacker Berta blames Psycho Fina for shooting Gonzalo.

*Adriana trying to get contact information for Chema's family in front of Matias & Julieta. Matias explains to Julieta that Chema is suffering from mental issues (little does he know that Chema has a terminal illness).

*Julieta recalls that her aunt had died from similar symptoms & that her aunt suffered from a brain tumor. Matias thanks both Matias & Julieta for coming to the hospital.

*Adriana explains to Matias that the Doctor told Selene & Adriana that Chema has a brain tumor. She's worried about Chema's reaction to the health diagnosis. Connie is notified by Adriana about Chema's health situation & is shocked.

*Honorio tells both Connie & Gullible Gina that Gonzalo will be kept sedated until they're finished with the testing in order to finding out the effects about the bullet on his brain (Had no idea that he got shot in the head by Psycho Fina) YIKES.

*Commander Manriquez notifies Gina, Connie, Honorio about the latest developments regarding Psycho Fina's upcoming trial. All 3 are in agreement to testifying against her. Of course, Inez & Isidro discuss the situation with Antonio: Ines is NOT so quick to forgiving Antonio for obvious reasons (Dona Cata's death; Alliance with Psycho Fina). Then we see Antonio explaining the situation with Superior Padre about testifying against Psycho Fina; Antonio wants to be sure that Fina doesn't hurt anyone else. Antonio tells Superior Padre that he plans on giving his life to God.
 

"CUANDO ME ENAMORO" HIGHLIGHTS DISCUSSION
EPISODE#136/EPISODE#137:

*Jeronimo gets the annulment papers from his relationship with Renata. Gut feeling these two will be back together in the end.

*Chema's father Benjamin (portrayed by the late David Ostrosky) arrives at the hospital in Mexico City to be informed about Chema's health situation.

*Padre CB brings up the situation about the love of his life being tormented by her own sister all the way until her death. Jeronimo asks Padre CB "Her death?" Padre CB explains it was a long story, but asks Jeronimo, does he want to hear it.

*Padre CB gives the scoop about the late love of his life: Macarena, but Big Sister Carlota was also in love with him too. Carlota couldn't stand the fact that Macarena was in love with Padre CB & also had a daughter with her.

*The Doc talks to Benjamin, Connie & Adriana that Chema's brain tumor is inoperable nor is there any other medical treatments they can do to dissolving it. The Doc also explains that Chema's blackouts will get worse from here on out. Basically: Chema's days are numbered.

*Padre CB explains to Renata that Crazy Carlota pushed Macarena out of the window (sounds familiar: see Fina pushing Roberto through the window 30+ years ago). At least Padre CB said his goodbyes to Macarena before Macarena passed away.

I thought while watching and somehow forgot to write in my comment this: Why in blazes didn't Angelli fetch her mother to show her the deranged damage done in her bedroom? I would think the torn off doll head might give "denial is not a river in Egypt" a clue.
 

OT..I wonder if we are not getting Vivir at 1.00 because they want people to watch the new talk show that was on right after Vivir at 2.00 ?

*Matias agrees to let Adriana pretending to be Chema's girlfriend. However, Matias is quite uncomfortable about NOT telling Chema the truth about the brain tumor.

*Loving the new opening credits.

*Fina's trial begins: Gina, Renata, Jeronimo, Honorio, Connie, Isidro, Inez, Matias, Adriana, Private Detective & Antonio are in attendance.

*Flashbacks of Renata's kidnapping & the death of Roberto trying to tell Regina that Psycho Fina is Pepa.

*Slacker Berta going on a shopping spree. Pitiful & disgusting SMH.

*Chema & Benjamin going produce shopping when they run into Hit & Run Girl AKA Julieta.

*Wine Country: Everyone excited about the upcoming wedding of Lazaro & Karina.

*Leon pumps Matilde up for information about Lazaro & Karina's wedding. Leon then reports to Scumbag Alvaro. Uh-Oh folks!
