VIDA Ep. 58 Part 1

We start at the contrived bods interruptus; Rigo is shooting up in the air yelling at MAL that he has come for her, she is NOT getting married! Everyone is in a panic. When Pepe tries to go toward Rigo, Rafa stops him; this is HIS business. Rafa gets all hulky thinking that he can stop a man with a gun by fighting it out, only to get shot in the leg. Pepe then goes toward Rigo and as Paula tires to stop him. she faints. Rigo grabs Teo and warns that if Pepe takes another step, Pepe's son will die!

Rol is pouring a drink out on the patio when Gnat buzzes in cursing and complaining that the Castillos found out that their property is under her name and dared to call her a thief! When Rol calls her a swindler, Gnat doesn't argue the point, she thinks they are the perfect couple since Rol is a murderer. Rol worries that Lor and Paula will help the Castillos, run Gnat out of the company, and get another lawyer, but Gnat isn't worried because before that happens, Rol will have won the interdiction trial. and will take control of everything, even the spoiled kids.And Paula won't be able to lift a finger without Rol's approval. When Rol comments that Paula might die before the trial takes place, Gnat hisses that she has found a judge that wil rule in their favor...but she needs the bribe money NOW.

Back at the non-boda, Pepe tries to talk Rigo into letting Teo go, but Rigo will only let him go if MAL gets in the truck. After MAL gets in the truck and Rigo take off, they laugh hysterically at their success. MAL then tells RIgo that they are going to meet someone who will give them mucho dinero.

At the Lugo house, Paula wakes up asking for Susy, "Here I am, mommy" squeals Suzy. Diego then tells Paula that the guy took MAL. Pepe comes in to check in on Paula, but then has to leave because they did call the cops but Pepe is not going to wait for the cops! He has to go find MAL.

Rigo and MAL arrive at the meeting site. MAL tells Rol that everything went better than they thought. Rigo starts talking about how he and MAL will start a new life, but when he turns his back on Rol. Rol grabs his head and snaps his neck! When Rol pushes Rigo's body off the cliff, MAL freaks out for a nano second, then assures Rol that she can continue with the plan. She will do her part, but Rol has his part to do too. After Rol reminds MAL that this is her perfect opportunity to "lose" the baby, MAL calls Pepe telling him that she escaped from Rigo, then pretends that Rigo caught up to her and screams into the phone after sending Pepe her location.

Lor is struggling to keep Rafa up as they try to take him to the hospital. Pepe runs up and assures Rafa that he will find MAL and protect the baby..

Now at the hospital, the nurse tells the family that Rafa will be fine; the bullet just grazed his leg. A bit later, Gracia explains to Alex how she gave up a baby for adoption and Rosa adopted the baby. She can't believe that the baby grew up to be a woman without scruples. Alex puts his arm around her to console her.

At the Lugo home, Paula can't rest since she hasn't heard from Pepe. She gets a visit from Catalina who works at the company. Cat makes a sour face as she tells Paula that she looks horribly sick. Cat tells Paula that someone wants to interview her. Paula insists on doing the interview. and lists everything that is bothering her about how people react and how so many people can't pay for treatment...so she plans to create a foundation that will assist in paying for treatments.
 

VIDA Ep. 58 Part 2

Rol bribes the doctor to destroy any files about MAL's miscarriage and to say that MAL lost the baby due to the fall.

Pepe finds Rigo's truck. As he walks around, he hears MAL yelling out as she hangs from the edge of the cliff. He grabs her hands to lift her up pver the cif, but MAL wiggles her hands (intentionally) and falls.

At the hospital, Rafa is wheeled to the lobby. As he asks for news about MAL, she is wheel in as Pepe follows behind. He explains to Rafa that he had MAL's hands, but she slipped out of his hands and fell down the precipice.

Catalina is now meeting with Paula who convinces her to support her at the company board meeting because Paula isn't fit to make any decisions.

Paula arrives at the hospital and is talking to Pepe as the bribed doc approaches and tells them that MAL is fine...but she lost the baby. Pepe tries to console Rafa, but Rafa reproaches him for letting MAL go ...and killing his son!

Pepe is now with MAL who asks about her baby. She turns on the faucet crying for her baby. MAL performs her pity me act--accusing herself of being at fault because she has made mistakes. After Pepe tells her not to blame herself, she tells him that she forgives him because her love for him is greater than this.

In the lobby, Paula is trying to console Rafa who is sharing how he anticipated having a son. After he laments the loss of his baby, Paula assures that he is not alone; she is there for him...they should support each other. Rafa then blames Pepe and Paula tries to point out that Rigo is the one at fault...but Rafa insists that Pepe killed his baby.

THe cops arrive at the hospital and tell the family that there is a dead body and they need answers!

Pepe is still with MAL when Rafa wheels himself in and tells him to get out! Pepe tries to calm him down but when Rafa hisses that his only consolation is that Pepe will suffer when Paula dies, Pepe grabs him and grits his teeth as he tells Rafa to never say something like that again!

Emi is ecstatic that he won 3rd place for his documentary. When he tells Diego that he wants to do a documentary on people who have a loved one who has cancer, Diego thinks he is obsessed with the tumor.

Downstaurs, Pepe struggles to understand how MAL could have slipped out of his hands. Paula tells him to stay with Rafa instead of going with her to her treatment, but Pepe insists on going with her. When Paula suggests that Pepe and his kids move in with her, but Pepe is hesitant. He wants them to take things slowly. Paula reminds him that she may not have time, She continues to try to convince him...but Pepe feels soooo guilty and doesn;t feel he deserves to be happy...and he insists that they think about it some more and focus on her treatment for now.

MAL tells Rafa that things happen for a reason...in the long run,they would not have made it as a couple; this would have been a big mistake because she still loves Pepe. MAL callously continues that this is best....she lost the baby and what they had went with the baby.

Rol goes to visit MAL who is feeling better than ever...each bruise was worth it. Shae can now have her vengeance..Pep will feel sooo guilty.

Rafa is now at home and tells Isa that he wants to be alone. Isa wants to console him, but he insists that she leave.

Emi is about to take another drink when chipmunk calls out to him...she needs his help.

The next morning, Paula comes downstairs to find a room full of balloons. When she asks what this is all for, the three kids pop out with a "Get Well, Mom!" poster.

Lucia stops at the hospital to see MAL before going to school. While there, the nurse comes in to change MAL's bandage (on her cheek) and Lucia asks to stay so she can learn how to help her mother once she is home. After the nurse removes the bandage, Mal sees Lucia;s reaction, freaks out and demands to be given a mirror! When she looks at herself, MAL cries, "Nooooo!". (and she's actually not faking it!!)

And there we end...

This telenovela has jumped the shark with me. We ALL saw MALena let go of Pepe's hand.(sounds like she planned that) And he blames himself. And Rafa blames Pepe too .... why doesn't Rafa blame skank MAL for shacking up with Rigoberto and getting herself "kidnapped" by a crazy "ex"-lover? Gaaaaah!
Also, "Paula insists on doing the interview. and lists everything that is bothering her about how people react " QTH? Not many people know Paula is ill, so what's the deal with that??? The writers have lost it. And too many PSAs. Okay. Rant over. ;-)

It was a bit shocking to see Rolo kill Rigo in cold blood. Yikes. They'll probably arrest Pepe and charge him with murder since he was "at the scene." I'll be glad when this telenovela is over and these people are out of my life.
 

OT/Awards

Mostly directed to Susan, since I know she watches Mujer: what's the intro song? I have been searching for it and still can't find it. I will not include a male villain but I still have the song gap.

You handled every aspect of this morbid episode with exceptional finesse. A marvelous read.

The “contrived boda interruptus” continued with a shooting, threatening a child, “abduction”, frantic getaway and then murder. Lies and deception were only minor components. This gave an entirely different (and stomach churning) meaning to “Runaway Bride”.

MAL is without scruples, heart, or conscience. She didn’t skip a beat breaking up with Rafa because “…she still loves Pepe… MAL callously continues that this is best...she lost the baby and what they had went with the baby”. Then she has Pepe wracked with guilt thinking he is responsible for her losing her baby!

Rol snapped Rigo’s neck without any discernable show of emotion. Cold and reptilian.

Ordinarily, I would feel for Rafa but when he “…hisses that his only consolation is that Pepe will suffer when Paula dies”, any sympathy I might have felt died.

Paula and Pepe will now make good use of the time “left” to her. I am enjoying that everything that might normally break them up is bringing them closer together, not further apart.

From the beginning, I’ve thought Gracia and Alex would make a good couple and after tonight, I’m totally in favor of them getting together.

Now MAL’s face reflects the ugliness of her heart and non-existent soul.

It took me a while, but now I'm at the point where the female protagonist just annoys me.'she doesn't have time'... That's true, but throughout this tale Paula has these 'what I want is the most important thing' moments and I feel rather uncomfortable with this. It was bad enough having to listen to her complaining about how she doesn't understand Diego, going after Pepe instead of spending time with her kids and agreeing to treatment only after she fell in love. I have no patience for this anymore. I can't believe she isn't listening to what Pepe is saying. Let's ignore his feelings instead of talking about this because why not.I know way too many people who focus only on their own feelings in every situation.
Malena actually threw away her chance to get her hands on a lot of cash for a possibility of getting back with Pepe? I don't get it. She must be really delusional. There's no other explanation. Unless she thinks she can use the guilt he is feeling to pressure him to stay by her side, but this isn't a typical situation as he had already started his relationship with Paula.

Gracias, RGV Chick. This was a hell of an episode.

I think MALena was genuinely shocked when Rolando killed Rigo. His explanation made logical sense... and also spared him money he didn't want to pay out. Lizardo is very convincing as the reptilian type; this is serious proof.

Bribing a doctor for this sort of deception is beyond disgusting.

We always knew Rafa was the dullest knife in the drawer and MALena played him like Paganini played the violin and now she is getting her just desserts for that.

It was too late to post this against the previous discussion, so I will say it here, updated to last night's events:

The men who obsess over MALena are only looking at her body, which she deliberately displays. If they were looking into her eyes they would see that she has no soul. Her ego is a bottomless pit of need. Sex is the only thing that validates her existence. She has never thought about the day she would lose her (very superficial) beauty but now she has to face that. She probably was hitherto dead sure she would never have to.

As to the whole matter of money and inheritance, MALena may have figured out that Paula has assets and company shares that would go to Pepe if they were married when she dies. She could have been considering killing Rafa and trying to get Pepe back later. However, now that she is no longer pregnant and she rejected Rafa so cruelly she will have nothing.

Dear Chickie, wow...where to begin ??? Thank you for managing to keep up with and report every twisted turn . We are swimming with sharks . I wish I could be in that writers' room when these storylines are being spun . It's........bizarre.

MAL is beyond BSC now. How long was she hanging on that cliff before SuperPepe arrived to save the day? Ridiculous.

Rafa is one of the dimest bulbs I have ever seen in a novela, and I have seen a lot of novelas. I have this awful feeling that Zaida is going to return and dim, dreadful Rafa will get a HEA with her and then take his place on the board and at the piano.

Pepe is also proving To be another dim bulb in the string ..this one with a heart of gold too good to be true. He will sacrifice his love for Paula to take care of poor, scarred MAL. I think I saw a sign on his back ..."Kick me...Please."

This is the second time Screeching Susy has stopped her big brother from taking a drink. Good girl, Susy.

Thanks so much Rgv Chick. That was a great recap of an episode with lots of surprises. I really thought Mal might be mad at Rigo for putting a gun to Teo’s head, which would be pretty traumatizing to anyone, but I can’t imagine what it would do to a kid. But she got in the car and laughed! And she was more upset about the scar on her cheek than even when she really lost the baby.

Rafa was such an idiot in this show. Accusing Pepe of killing his baby. And what he said about Paula was awful. So much for sisterly love. And MAL telling Pepe she forgives him. I hope she doesn’t rope him in again.

Rol really should have buried or hidden the body. I would imagine they would just think he fell. Surely they can’t blame Pepe. MAL does all those extreme sports in her business. She probably could have climbed up the cliff on her own.

I don’t remember the girl that came to see Paula. But I was not impressed with her. And Lorenzo needs to tell Paula what Nat did with the restaurant and land. Paula needs a new lawyer.

TU VIDA #59 Part 1/2

Here is my mini-recap. Many scenes are combined, a couple omitted because they don't advance the plot much or at all. Plz excuse typos and errors.

Diego gets Paula’s permission to skip school so he can accompany her to her radiation treatment, but he won’t let her hug him. Baby steps. Pepe and Emi also go with Paula to Mexico City for her treatment.

MALENA doesn’t know that a positive outlook helps healing. She’s all “I’m a monster! Nothing will be the same after today!" Luci tries to console her but Mal isn’t having it. She would have preferred to die now that she looks like this. Luci says what matters is what’s inside a person (well, in Mal’s case, that is even uglier than the scar) Mal says no, looks are the most important. Then she basically tells Luci to get the heck out of Dodge, so she leaves, obviously hurt by her mother's treatment of her.

Later, Diego sees the bottle of liquor that Emi has hidden under his bed, and is sad. Emi swears he didn’t drink from it.

ROLO confronts Pepe and defends his lawsuit of trying to gain control of Paula’s assets and kids. He accuses Pepe of being after Paula’s money, and says the tumor is why she thinks she loves Pepe. Pepe won’t argue with the idiot and leaves.

NATALIA visits Rosa but she doesn’t want to talk about what she did with the Castillo property. Rosa can not believe Nat pulled that stunt. Nat justifies it saying the land will fund her treatment. Rosa says that Paula offered to pay for the treatments. Nat says that without money a person is nothing and claims Paula is trying to “buy” Rosa. As if.
Rosa says she’ll accept Paula’s offer if Nat returns the property to Los Castillo. Nat says no. Rosa says the restaurant is Gracia’s lifeline…your bio-mom. This doesn’t matter to her, says Natalia, and she could care less about Gracia.

EMILIANO meets up with Lucia, who can tell he is drunk (as can we viewers). He denies having had a drink and she is angry with him for lying. She can smell it on him. She even pulls out a flask from his backpack that smells of liquor. Luci is muy upset. He’s drunk yet he told her he had nothing to drink! They argue, he tries to justify his drinking --- my Mom is dying and worse yet, my brother is gay, which is The. Worst. News. Ever. The scales have fallen from Lucía’s eyes.

ISA & ALEX discuss their situation. The takeaway is that Isa says she has officially begun a relationship with Lorenzo. (these people aren’t even divorced, IIRC) Alex asks if she thought about Lor over the past decades blah blah blah. This fun fest is interrupted by Gracia, who tells them Nat is at the restaurant.
 

TU VIDA #59 Part 2/2

MalAfa --- Rafa is at the hospital to take Mal home. He still loves her and she gives him an “eat dirt” look. The nurse comes in and is glad to see Mal bathed and she has stuff to help the scar heal. Then the nurse asks if Rafa is her hubby, to which mal says he is nobody to her.

PAULEPE – are all smoochies after returning home from the City. lather, rinse, repeat. They’re talking about him and his kids moving in with her. Paula says the tumor has given her another chance at life. It’s a very sweet scene, yet they are acting like she is not married to Rolando and there is no lawsuit pending to gain control of her assets and kids. Whatever. Lorenzo interrupts the smoochfest to tell them that ISA called him about Nat. At the restaurant. With a realtor/appraiser. And that Nat filed the deeds in her own name instead of Pepe’s family. Paula can’t believe her BFF Natalia would/could do something like that. No puede ser! (yes! puede ser!) The men leave and Rosa comes to look after Paula.

NATALIA and said agent are at the restaurant! She’s going to put it and the land up for sale! Gracia says ‘you can’t do this!’ and Nat is all ‘just watch me.’ Gracia sees the true monster that is Natalia and is horrified.

ROSA tells Paula that Nat wasn’t always like this. Rosa says that bit by bit, Natalia changed. Natalia wanted the mansions like the ones Rosa worked at, scrubbing the floors. Nat was always envious of what Paula had and would give anything to have a life like yours. Paula is shocked.

In other news, Andi, Arturo, & Andi are hanging out.. Diego is upset over his mom, etc., and some meaningful looks are exchanged between Art and Diego. The writers couldn’t be more clear that these two have some chemistry. Art leaves. Diego then tells Andi that it was Renata who altered the photos on the internet. Andi is surprised because she has never done anything to Rata.

RAFA and MAL arrive home to his parents’ house. Mal says, “Where is my welcoming committee?” As if!!! Staying completely on brand, Mal proceeds to blame Rafa for everything --- losing her baby, the scar. The price of eggs. She hurls all sorts of hateful, venomous insults to him that he does not deserve. She makes it clear they are no longer a couple. Rafa is pretty much speechless while Mal continues with her soliloquy. She asks if he thinks he can make her forget Pepe, can he make her feel like a woman the way he did? She is brutal. And totally sick in the head.

BACK AT THE RESTAURANT, Pepe tells Natalia to not mess with his family. He might as well be talking to a wall. Lorenzo tells Nat to leave the Castillos alone and he will take her to court over this. Nat says don’t make things worse; it’s not worth it. Lorenzo says “you’re fired” and wants her to return the property. Nat says if he crosses her, she’ll destroy them and leave them in absolute poverty; she has power at the company and gained the confidence of all the employees, etc. Girl is on a power trip. I can’t wait for her anvil.

I can’t believe Nat is selling the land right out from under them. And threatened Lorenzo. I guess she’s pretty confident that a judge is turning all Paula’s assets over to Rol. I hope Lorenzo and family can get a good lawyer.

I felt so sorry for Rafa. If he had any self esteem MAL sure destroyed it. But the big question would be “did she destroy his love for her”. I sure hope so. I did have a brief thought that MAL made the right decision because if Lorenzo is broke Rafa will never be wealthy.

To put Paula’s dying right alongside “my brother is gay”was bad. Lucia needs to dump that drunken idiot. I think she has! Emi and Rata deserve each other. Lucia deserves much better.

Paula went on about living a long life with Pepe. That made me think the writers might have her die. I hope not, and never thought she would, but now I’m wondering.

Rosa needs to check out that safe Nat has in her house. She keeps asking Rol for money but I’m sure she’s giving herself a huge salary. Maybe the safe is full of money! We know Nat isn’t selling land she stole to pay for her mother’s treatments.

Doris, your recap was amazing. You captured the (mostly) evil infused events so vividly and insightfully. What a sad, draining episode.

There is nothing sadder that the wide eyed, lying declation than "I didn't drink". Only when one is literally caught in their lie is there an admission. "My Mom is dying and worse yet, my brother is gay, which is The. Worst. News. Ever. The scales have fallen from Lucía’s eyes". Anyone who has lived in such an environment knows that pain all too well. I do loathe that Emi is so unaccepting of Diego's sexuality. I expected better of him.

MAL could not have been more vicious, vitriol dripping from her lips. I was rather glad I understood little of her cruel tongue lashing but hopefully, Rafa has learned a lesson.

Every time I see Rol I want to FF. He sickens me.

Apparently no one in this novela has read any legal documents they signed. Now Gnat seems to have absolute power. "Power trip" indeed Doris...

I did enjoy Paula and Pepe's warm hugs and kisses. It's so rare we get to see such love and affection between the main couple any more.

Isa finally makes her choice. Good. She and Lor can be happy together and now, Alex and Gracia can as well.

Another cliffhanger for certain!

The nice cozy scene with PaulEpe smoochies makes me worry. In telenovela land, these type scenes are usually followed by mucho MUCHO drama. Of course, Rol and Nat will gladly supply that to this couple.

I agree, I am very disappointed over Emi's rejection of Diego being gay. If I understood him, that is worse (to him) than his mother dying. Diego really is a good guy and hopefully he'll work through his abandonment and resentment issues.

If this has 80-90 episodes it's about time that Rolando and Gnat start turning on each other. He was looking to get all of Paula's assets but now Gnat is taking what she would theoretically inherit or what her children would inherit from Lorenzo. Doesn't leave much for the reptilian Rolando, does it?

No pity for MALena. She has nothing without her evil beauty. There is nothing beautiful in her life force. Rafa needs to see this as we do but that may not happen until the finale.

Lucia does need to ditch Emiliano now. He needs to be in rehab. I am also disappointed that he isn't accepting Diego's orientation. He's at an age when he should have had some gay classmates and friends. Andrea is more mature than he is!

It looks like Pepe and Lorenzo will have to save the day.

Thank you, Doris! Great recrap. Am thank you to everyone who commented on Monday’s episode. I think we all are getting ready to superglue our beanies on. Seems like the writers are throwing in a bunch of cockamamie drama at us to keep our attention…they’re not doing a very good job, are they? I am SO ready for this to be over, but I’ll just have to grin and bear it.

It’s been busy, busy, busy here at the ranchito. My apologies for not commenting more.

Thanks, Doris.'She is blaming him for...the price of eggs.' I love this. I find it interesting that people like Malena always know everyone's weak spots. That's a skill. Some might lash out inanger and even then not everyone does, but Malena isn't one to regret what she said. Why this obsession with Pepe? Is it due to BPD? Because she absolutely refuses to let him go. She has to be the one to say it's over. I do feel sorry for Rafa. I wonder what his childhood was like as he is eassily influenced by people who either say they believe in him or pretend to.
When Isabela said she's starting a formal relationship with Alex, I was like 'wouldn't you like to get divorced first?' They always talk about how people might gossip, but apparently it doesn't matter now. And are these two going on a trip round the world when Paula is ill? Seriously? What if she dies two months later?
So Renata wasn't wrong. If I were Lucia, I'd be a bit mad at myself for not keeping my promise. But then again, I'd be reluctant to promise anything when it comes to addictions.
Malena will definitely not let Pepe move in with Paula and Pepe, like a true galan, will let her.

MAL is a witch. I am curious about her anvil because we already got a preview of her punishment with the scarring. I think she will get The rest of that anvil.

Nat is certainly crowing about being large and in charge . Pride goeth before an anvil.

If this were a Turkish dizi, I would expect Paula to die, but I think she will get her miracle after fighting her illness, Rol, and GNat. I think the Mexican novels like HEAs.

VIDA Ep. 60 Part 1 (several scenes combined, some skipped, "scuse the typos)

Lor and Gnat continue their verbal brawl. Gnat tells Lor not to mess with her and reminds him that he signed the document...what he didn't realize was that he was signing all his rights at the company over to her. SHe comments that loving the same woman is not the only thing he has in common with Alex, they both are a pair of idiots who sign without reading documents (she does have a point there!). Lor calls her despicable and makes some accusations, but it doesn't phase Gnat who reminds Lor that he has to face the consequences...Paula is very ill and weak, so he shouldn't give Paula any more to worry about. If Lor tries to get her out of the company, she will make sure Paula ends up buried sooner than expected. Lor is aghast that Gnat would threaten him with his daughter's life...and tells Gnat that she has no idea who she is dealing with; if she wants war, she will get war!

Emi returns and slurs as he grovels to Lucia trying to excuse and apologize for his behavior. Lucia reminds him he made a promise and he is keeping his problem a secret from his family. She adds that R_ata was right--she won't be able to handle Emi's drinking problem.

Someone is banging at R_ata's door. It's Andrea who charges in and attacks R_ata for posting her pictures; unfortunately, Diego holds her back! R_ata claims that Andrea can't do anything against her because Andrea has no proof!

Rosa helps Paula to her room. Paula thinks that everything Rosa has told her (about Gnat) surprises her; she doesn't know why Gnat is so resentful of her.

Gnat's next target is Rafa. She invites him for a drink and he agrees. At the bar, she bats her eyes and coos as Rafa spills his guts about MAL and the baby. After he mentions that Pepe was always the preferred child and he was only the bastard child, Gnat tells him how fascinated she is with him and moves in for a lip lock.

Rol goes to see Paula who is trying to get some rest. When he caresses her face, she calls out Pepe's name. After Rol makes sure she knows who he is, Paula looks horrified and scared. He shows her the judge's order giving him temporary guardianship of all her assets and business. After Paula cries that Gnat was supposed to take care of this, Rol tells her that he shouldn't trust Gnat...but she need not worry because he will protect her. He goes on and on about how he loves her and will protect her and "their" kids (quite sickening!). Paula then realizes that what Diego told her makes sense. She then proceeds to tell Rol what Diego overheard when Rol approached German's coffin.

Lor goes to tell Pepe et al that Gnat threatened him, but he will still take care of the problem. Pepe thinks Gnat is the worst woman in the world (and we totally agree).

Pepe asks Isa to let his kids spend the night at her house since he is going to spend the night with Paula, When he adds that Paula has asked him to move in with her, Isa asks that he take care of his heart.

Pepe goes to see MAL who spews lies about Rafa being horrified when he saw her scar. She tells Pepe that Rafa wants nothing to do with her! Pepe slurps up all the lies and tells her that even though he is with Paula now, he will be there for MAL..
 

VIDA Ep. 60 Part 2

More sickening malarkey from Rol--FFW After he tells Paula that he is going to run Gnat out of the company and request an audit, Paula asks him to leave because she is feeling very ill.

Gnat and Rafa shake the bed. After they finish, Gnat tells Rafa that he needs to ask for mo' money from Lor...10 million, and that's only the beginning.

As Rol leaves, Lor enters. Lor reproaches Rol for taking over all of Paula's affairs..and Rol spews more bile-inducing malarkey about Paula being sick and needing someone to look after her interests. After Rol growls that Lor is too old to take care of the kids and Paula is CRAZY, Lor SMACKS him!! (not hard enough, though). Rol still insists that he will look after his wife and children.

Diego approaches Emi who is working out his drunken stupor. After Diego confesses that he told Andi about R_ata posting the pictures, Emi shares that Lucia broke up with him...and assures DIego that he isn't drinking.

Lor goes to see Paula and tells her that Gnat is willing to do anything to get what she wants. He tells her not to worry because he will take care of everything. Paula then shares that Pepe is going to come live there.

Still in bed with Gnat, Rafa worries that Lor won't give him so much money. Gnat confesses that she has been making plans for Rafa ever since she found out he is Lor's son. She then tells him that his parent's properties are all in her name--he just made love to his family's worst enemy! Gnat then suggests that Rafa can buy back the properties with the money he gets from Lor...he can be his family's hero. Rafa agrees!

Pepe returns to see Paula. and has his luggage. Hug, hug, kiss, kiss....

Paula reads Susy a bedtime story as Pepe watches. Susy likes that Pepe is there.

Paula takes Pepe to the kitchen where she will make him a delicious dinner...and they run into Rol who is having a drink...he has decided to come live there too!

And that's it for tonight!

Did tonight's episode begin a minute or two earlier than usual? My DVR recording began somewhere into Lor & Gnat's conversation. Hmmm.....

Nat looks much better with her hair down.

Roland is just vile. And evil. And he gives me the creeps.
Natalia is vile and evil. I keep expecting a serpent's tongue to flicker out of her mouth.
Same with MALena, who is a compulsive pathological liar. Ugh.

Rafa makes no sense, the way he has turned on his family. And apparently he's over Malena now that he "shook the bed" with Natalia. IMO he's dumber than a box of rocks and could use a brain transplant.

Things should get interesting with Pepe and Rolo both living in Paula's house now.

I keep looking at those stairs in Paula's house and wonder if there will be an escaleracide.

Rgv Chick, a sensational recap, start to finish. Your light touches including "shook the bed" helped take much of the sting out of another depressing night.

"More sickening malarkey from Rol" mirrored my thoughts exactly.

Rol is evil personified but lacks the cunning of the amoral and unscrupulous Gnat. Indeed, Rol is also guilty of being an "idiot who signs without reading documents". My money is on Gnat to connive to take down Rol in the end.

"Lor is aghast that Gnat would threaten him with his daughter's life...and tells Gnat that she has no idea who she is dealing with; if she wants war, she will get war!" While I like Lor, I can't help but wonder if he has any arsenal to back up his bluster?? He foolishly gave her control over everything, inadvertent as it was.

So Rafa is just going to roll over and let yet another woman manipulate him?? I am as confused as you are Doris in that he's turned his back on his family.

MAL continues to amaze me. She tells Pepe Rafa was repulsed by her? Well, we all are but it was she who cut him to the quick (so to speak).

"Emi shares that Lucia broke up with him...and assures DIego that he isn't drinking". My dear boy, you are exacerbating your already pitiful and obvious lies.

Rol moving in is just untenable. And unbearable. Paula is already buckling under the strain of things as they are, drastic measures must be taken. But what and by whom??

Doris, 'Rafa makes no sense' is the best description. I kept thinking what to say about him and then I saw your comment. He asks no questions after he learnt Natalia stole his family's properties? Just agreeing to buy them from her is crazy. And it makes even less sense now as he can't say 'everyone is against me' because they are trying to help.I do wonder about his relationship with others because he turned on them so easily. So I want the writers to explain to me what is going on. Or is this another one 'he does what the plot requires' choice?
I laugh every time the good guys tell the bad ones 'you don't know who you are messing with' because the opposite is actually true. Lorenzo, who can't read properly, threatens a woman who just took over his daughter's company. i mean, it looks impressive while he is threatening, but not so much once you remember who did what.
I'm sick of Pepe believing Malena. And Malena is awfully stupid if she is willing to throw out a chance to get her hands on all that cash. I thought she decided she wanted to get her revenge and leave?
I'm surprised Rolando didn't take advantage of Paula when shethought he was Pepe. I keep thinking a scene like this is bound to happen.

Thanks so much Rgv Chick, my head is spinning from all that is going on. And the men are all just plain dumb, especially when it comes to judging character in a person.

I couldn’t believe MAL told all those lies and Pepe fell for it. If Paula did die I can see him remarrying MAL.

Rafa is even worse. I would say if anything the family babies him. Maybe because he looks like an ape they figured he wasn’t up to some tasks. We just know if Lor gives him the money Nat will swindle him out of it. He’ll never be the hero in his family. Or will he?!

I can’t stand any scene with Rol in it. Isn’t this Lor’s house? He should have some say in who moves in. But Rol will have the whole family against him, Pepe so outshines him.

I didn’t realize Nat threatened Paula’s life to Lor. I sure hope Lor has a plan of attack.

Two unresolved things. The police needed to talk to them about a dead body-which would be Rigo, and also wondering if Andi’s mother is going to make an appearance. I feel like she is going to straighten out a lot of things.

Wouldn't it be fun if Zaida returns to town and tells everyone that MAL framed her for the murder for which she went to prison? Not a spoiler, not even a CrockPot Theory, simply wishful thinking. Jail time would be a perfect anvil for MALena.

Doris, that is exactly what I am thinking about Zaida. MAL framed her for the murder of someone ( maybe one of MAL's guy pals ). Then , Zaida, Rafa, and Andrea could have a HEA. However, I dont want Rafa to have a HEA. He has been a fool this whole novela, but recently he has gone way beyond just being dim. Watching him rolling around with ruthless, heartless gnat was disgusting .

This show is depressing . I am so ready for it to end . How did Susana and Juan Soler get into this messy mess?

Paula needs very serious help, but it looks like that has to be outside help, as her whole family is falling apart. Is there nobody who knows what Rolando really is? Lorenzo should have recorded the confrontation with Gnat and caught the death threat.

Renata needs to be stopped or she will become as bad as Gnat and Malena combined. She wants Emiliano in this condition because she can't face that she can't have him while he's sane. I was almost yelling at Diego to let Andrea have a go at her.

Thank you, everyone!! Great commentary! I sense a lot of frustration with sooo many of the characters and I can surely relate. So many sickening scenes, but ROL takes the prize, every time he opens his mouth I imagine green bile spilling out —P-phooey, P-phooey, P-Phooey!!!
