EL EXTRAÑO RETORNO DE DIANA SALAZAR Gran Estreno: Sunday 1/19/25 8:00-9:30 EST

I thought I was taking a break from recapping until this series appeared and I was hooked!

Directly from the promos:

If you are in the mood for something different, Univision has taken its series “El extraño retorno de Diana Salazar” off of its VIX service and will be showing it on Univision in 90 minute episodes on Sunday nights.

The first season originally had eight 41 min. episodes.  I may be wrong, but I suspect that Univision will be editing out the nude and overtly sexual content in the original series  

The series  is based on the 1988 telenovela of the same name.  It is a supernatural love story spanning the 17th and 21st centuries in Mexico  which is  perfect if you are into period AND contemporary productions.  

The main cast includes:

Angelique Boyer - Diana Salazar/Leonor de Santiago

Sebastián Rulli - Mario Villareal/Eduardo de Carvajal 

Arap Bethke - Joaquín Nuñez/Lucas de Treviño

Cassandra Sánchez Navarro - Irene Vallejos/Inés Betancourt

Lorena Graniewicz - Malena 

Erick Chapa - Gael

Sergio Mur - Gonzalo

I'm looking forward to it. The plus of recapping this is it is only one per week, right? They better not pull it after 2 episodes like La Lola teased me with on ViX , moving it to the subscription service.

Hmmm. Jarifa, I'm a bit confused. Is the episode airing Sunday the very beginning of the novela? I read your description of the plot, and it interested me. But googling it mentioned it airing in 2024. I got the part about it having been on Vix. But if I watch this weekend, I will see it from the beginning, verdad?

Jarifa, I enjoyed the quotes you noted - this does look really good!

My high def channel will be running this late Sunday night, I am going to try and stay up and watch as to be able to follow along with your sure to be exceptional recap.

Jarifa, thank you for this information . I have been watching the promos for this show , and I am looking forward to watching . I like Angelique and Rulli together . My tv guide lists this show from 8 to 10 pm Sunday on Uni , but my tv schedule is usually wrong when listing the Uni shows .
