FUGITIVAS #67 Part 1

Ismael continues apologizing to Lorena. His facial expression changes, heart briefly revealed, face softening as he leans in to kiss Lorena. She stops him, eyes glittering with an icy frost.

All of a sudden, the doorbell rings and fortunately, Ismael (unlike Alejandro) actually does check the peephole. He turns to Lorena eyes wide open in disbelief murmuring “its Arturo Marquez!”! Arturo rings the bell another two times as Ismael quickly ushers Lorena into the bedroom to hide.

“Why are you here” Ismael greets him scowling. Arturo tells him he knows Florencia is pregnant; Ismael tells him he only cares about the baby. Ismael starts to throw him out. Just then, the bell rings AGAIN and Alejandro stalks in – he knows Lorena is there!! Ismael defensively yells at Alejandro but the damage is done. Arturo takes off to search the apartment but mercifully Alejandro started ahead of him and got to the bedroom first. The closet doors are open proving she is not hiding there. Then, Alejandro gets on his knees and looks under the bed where Lorena IS hiding but shakes his head as if to say no, she’s not there! Ismael then leads the two out of the room. Arturo starts in on Alejandro but Ismael throws them both out. An angry Alejandro tells Ismael to go to the devil. Arturo warns Ismael again about Florencia. “Infeliz” Ismael mutters after Arturo is on the other side of it…

Alejandro gets on his motorcycle as Arturo comes out. He drives off as Arturo stands on the street, screaming after him.

Florencia tells Charo she is pregnant and Ismael is the father. Charo is delighted and hugs her. She seems to think their problems will lessen with a nina or nino.

Gabriela kisses Vincente when she arrives home. He delightedly tells her Lucre is going into rehab!! He shows her a sad picture Teo drew; she holds his arm and smiles.

Patricio texts Marta thanking her for accepting the invitation with Amanda. They are both beaming; she texts him that she is happy; their love for each other is palpable.

Ismael gives Lorena a glass of water as she comments how furious Arturo was. She asks him if he is happy he is going to have a child. He stresses he is not getting back with Florencia; they are getting divorced. He apologizes to Lorena. I think he tells her he loves her and walks toward her but oops, there is that pesky doorbell again. It’s Alejandro, loaded for bear. He reams Ismael out for using his phone and impersonating him to meet Lorena. What are your intentions he roars as Lorena urges him to be calm. Alejandro turns his anger on her and she asks what the problem is. Finally Lorena says “basta”; as Alejandro grabs her arm, she pulls it away and he leaves in a huff. Lorena grabs her bag and goes out after him. Alejandro gets on his bike and starts to take off but she runs out to him. He does stop and gives her a helmet.

FUGITIVAS #67 Part 2

Ismael gets a text from Florencia to meet her at the doctors.

Marta asks the girls where Montse is…

Alejandro is still furious and chastises Lorena; he drives away after he drops her off.

Lisset is having a bit of coffee with her sugar. Lorena comes in and tells the women what happened; Alejandro is furious with her. They tell her everything will be fine. Marta is still fretting over Montse.

Said Montse realizes the late hour and stands up telling Facundo she had a wonderful time. He pours on the charm and invites her to spend the night. They kiss passionately and he reaches over and puts her handbag on the table, lips still locked. Uh oh.

The next morning Marta looks over and realizes Montse never came home! Everyone jumps out of bed, fully alarmed.

Charo offers Florencia crepes and other delicacies. Florencia takes the plate and then Charo slyly mentions Playa Dorado. I am unsure what Florencia answered. “Coffee”? Charo smoothly asks.

Nico goes into Ismael’s office. Ismael tells him that Florencia is seven weeks pregnant. Ungallant Nico actually tells him he needs to be sure it IS his child as Florencia might have been with someone else! Oh dear, well if anyone should know it’s Nico, right?

Alejandro has a nosh and ignores Lorena’s call. She leaves a message that she loves him. Lorena then calls Sofia and asks her for a favor.

Marta and Frida are in the kitchen when Montse comes home. Marta is very upset and Frida accuses her of being with Facundo. Montse tries to defend herself but Marta mentions the police are looking for the fugitivas. I’m sorry Marta says as Montse cries saying how wonderful he is.

Sofia calls Alejandro, who answers her query as to how he is doing with a “not too great”. She arranges to meet him at her apartment and sort of smiles as she hangs up the phone.

Ismael meets Florencia at the doctor’s office. She takes his hand and thanks him for coming.

Juana #59 part 1 of 3

Gabriel wants Salvador to get him out of there. He’s worried about his son, who is two months pregnant mature, and Juana also. Salvador wants to know what happened to Gabriel. He was attacked and someone defended him.

The baby will be named Edwardo Rubio after Gabriel’s dad. Jenny comes out to tell the family it’s a boy and perfect. Josefina wants Jenny to call Salvador so Gabriel can know. Jenny says it’s been 5 months and she doesn’t want anything to do with him. Josefina calls him and after telling him he says he’s with Gabriel. Jenny grabs the phone but Salvador starts talking and she tells Gabriel that there’s interference, so Salvador walks away. Jenny takes the phone into the delivery room so Gabriel can see them. Meanwhile Felipe is ready for the baby to come home.

Carlos and Enriqueta are discussing Gabriel’s beating with Claudio. He says it won’t be the last time they try to kill him. Enriqueta and Carlos say how unjust it is. He needs to be there as Rogelio is putting the business in the red. They wonder what his plan is.

Rogelio is talking to Abel on the phone. It’s taken years but they are at the point of succeeding. The business shares are at their lowest and the Rubio name is not respected. As he ends the call a very sexy woman comes in with papers for him. He asks if Camila has come in and the woman hasn’t seen her. She asks if there’s anything else he needs and as he looks her over he tells her, not now.

Camila is in the jail visiting her brother. She brings him tamales that their mother made, his favorite. Money is rolled up in the food. He thanks her, this is what his boys need. She thanks him. I’m pretty sure he’s one of them that’s protecting Gabriel. Camila thanks him for doing this for her, the jail time. He says it is what it is, there father deserved his fate. He promises her all will be well.

Rogelio goes in to get the latest numbers from Manuel. He’s thrilled that they’re even lower. Manuel asks if he knows what he’s doing. Yes, he’s destroying the Rubio business so Astro will be on top. He mentions when they get low enough he’ll buy Elvira’s shares. He’s doing this for his father. He notices Paula isn’t in her office. He guesses she’s already tired of being an executive and laughs.

Luciano and Paula are in bed. Luciano complains he only sees her in the bed, they should go to restaurants, the movies, take walks. She’s going to take a bath and go to the brewery. He can stay there as long as he wants.

Jenny comes into Juana’s room and says it’s Gabriel. She takes the phone and shows him their baby, Edwardo Rubio Bravo. He loves them.

Manuel tells David his dad plans on buying Elvira’s shares. David tells him with those shares he can end the Rubio business.

Dani brings a box of something to the office girls, maybe doughnuts. They complain about Rogelio and Paula and what’s happening to the business. Dani gets a call from Felipe. She tells them Juana had her baby. They say, finally some good news. David tells Enriqueta about Rogelio’s plan to buy Elvira’s shares. He tells her not to tell Carlos because he has enough on his mind. This will ruin the Rubio business. David decides to talk to Elvira.

FUGITIVAS #67 Part 3

Montse comes into the bedroom giving Marta an angry look. She is upset but (I believe) Marta tries to impress on her how dangerous the situation is.

Vincente looks something up on the computer and makes a call.

The doctor does the ultrasound and Ismael excitedly asks if that the heartbeat he is hearing. Outside he tells Florencia he was very emotional hearing the heartbeat. He tells her how angry her father was.

Now aware of the pregnancy, Nico texts Florencia wanting to meet.

Patricio and Amanda talk about Sara Jimenez’ arrest and the fugitivas. Patricio hands her a stack of files. She picks up the first file and lo and behold, Lisset’s picture stares out at her.

Alejandro finds the “hidden” key and goes into Sofia’s apartment. He sees the table is set and immediately knows something is up. Right on cue, Lorena walks out. Alejandro is furious that Ismael used her phone but more so that Lorena willingly went to Ismael’s apartment as she knows he is in love with her. She swears she doesn’t feel anything for Ismael and only went there because he told her he believes Arturo is guilty and will help ensure he is sent to jail. They kiss.

“Forgive me” Alejandro tells Lorena. She again tells him it is him that she loves. Chop Suey is on the menu as they smile and sit down to eat. My favorite he effuses.

Amanda walks into her office as Ismael’s words about Florencia float in her head. She seems upset and it is obvious she is starting to care for him.

Vincente meets with someone (a social worker?).

Lucre is in rehab but in tears; another resident tries to comfort her.

FUGITIVAS #67 Part 4 of 4

Dario is at the bar working when Frida surprises him; he ends up cutting his hand. She rushes to get napkins to stem the bleeding and they end up kissing. She backs away, realizing what she has done and runs into the bedroom crying “why, why”?

Florencia meets Nico and he cuts right to the chase. “Por favor” he says questioning the timeline. He is positive that he is the father of her child but when he wants to give the baby his surname she again insists Ismael is the father, despite his protestations.

Marta comes in and sees distraught Frida. She immediately realizes the problem is Dario. Why are you so sad she asks. I hope I am right in that Frida tells Marta she is gravely ill and is going to die.

Kindly add to and/or correct what I misinterpreted.

This was a great episode!! Can’t wait until tomorrow.

Juana part 2

I forgot to say that when Rogelio was talking to Manuel he mentioned Gabriel must have more lives than a cat as he has people in the jail trying to kill him but he always survives.

Inez brings Carlos food and coffee. He thanks her, but he’s not hungry and he’ll eat it later. He tells her what a wonderful assistant she is. She tells him he needs to eat, he says she reminds him of his grandmother and they laugh. They follow each other with their eyes as she leaves. And we may have a new romance!

Manuel asked Camila to meet him to tell him about Elvira buying the shares. He asks if when Gabriel is free there could be something between them, meaning her and Gabriel. She says of course, he won’t continue with Juana, she’s helped him so much. Manuel looks perplexed.

Juana is still FaceTiming with Gabriel. He says this is what’s important. She thinks it looks like he’s in an infirmary. He tells her Salvador needed to talk to him so they met there. The family is in the room and Felipe says something that Juana questions. It seems the family knew he’s been attacked in the jail. She tells them no more secrets.

Pacheco brings Margarita flowers. She’s bringing him to the kitchen with her to put them in water when Pepito grabs his hand and walks him out, saying as a policeman he has so much to do catching robbers and other criminals.

David and Enriqueta tell Carlos their plan. David will offer to buy Elvira’s shares. They discuss where they’ll get the money and decide to use Gabriel’s personal account. She won’t know it’s Gabriel’s money and David isn’t related to Gabriel.

Rogelio, the woman lawyer and another man are toasting because the Rubio business is finally about to be destroyed. The man says, and no one knows you’re the principal shareholder of Astro beer. They toast, it a waiter seems to be watching them. They’re also at the same go.f course restaurant we’ve seen before.

Carlos brings some papers for Manuel to sign. He thanks him for the information on Elvira, as he knows he’s in an awkward position. Manuel just wants this nightmare to be over.

The office girls share the news of the baby with Enriqueta. They’re going to be aunts. Dani is at the hospital where Juanantells her she’s very nervous as Gabriel has been attacked at the jail. Enriqueta shares the news with Inez. She’d like to see Juana. Inez tells her to go to the hospital. She wonders if she should take Carlos but Inez tells her Felipe will think that they’re a couple. Inez will tell Carlos and Enriqueta should go to the hospital.

Two policemen drag Gabriel out of his bed in the infirmary. One pulls a gun. The doctor comes in and tells them to put the gun away and let go of him. They have orders to take him. The doctor looks at them and says it must be a mistake. The cops leave and Gabriel thanks the doctor, who says he’s only doing his job.

Felipe brought drinks for Dani and Juana. They start talking about the brewery and how bad it is. Felipe mentions the brewery was like family to Enriqueta and then he mentions Carlos and Enriqueta. Dani says she’s been helping him as the business is being destroyed but they’re not a couple. They say how bad Rogelio and Paula are.

Juana #59 part 3

Inez tells Carlos the baby was born. He’s surprised because he just saw Juana. Inez tells him it was premature but is strong and healthy. Carlos says he’s happy.

The doctor tells Gabriel his wounds are healing but he won’t put that in his report. Detective Castillo wants Gabriel to stay in the infirmary. The doctor and Salvador go back a long time and aren’t happy with what’s going on. He says Salvador told him he was innocent and he believes him.

David is with Elvira. He tells her he’s not related to either side and would buy her shares. They’re losing money every day. He also tells her Gabriel is a victim, the same as Francisco. But he’s not going to mention
Gabriel or the person that’s really guilty.

Enriqueta joins Josefina in the hospital waiting room. Even though Felipe broke up with her she likes all of them and wants to stay in contact. Josefina says Felipe is in love with her. Enriqueta goes in Juana’s room as Dani is leaving. She says hello to Felipe. He says it’s been months since he’s seen her. Juana holds the bear and looks resigned, as Enriqueta and Felipe stare at each other.

David tells Elvira that usually you hide the things that would make you look guilty far away. Why would Gabriel bury the body on his land and have the gun in his office. He mentions she’s know Gabriel since he was a boy and knows of the feud between the two families. He asks how she knew her son’s body was at Gabriel’s and she says Rogelio told her. She just wants the guilty one to pay. David says make sure the one that’s guilty is paying. He thanks her for listening and leaves her crying at that same outdoor restaurant.

Claudio comes in to Carlos with good news. Gabriel’s divorce is final. It will take a while to get the shares back, but Paula has no right to them. The second news is that Rogelio and his lawyer were toasting with Abel Madrazo, the owner of Astro beer. Carlos figures that they’ll combine the breweries and the Rubio name will disappear.

Dani and David exchange good news. She tells him about Juana’s baby and he tells her about speaking to Elvira. Then Dani says for some time she feels that he looks at her strangely. Does he have something to tell her. Just as he says yes Reny appears. He and Dani are doing something together. Dani says she just needs to do one thing and leaves. Reny tells David he’s serious about Dani and wants to make it official. David says good and then he has to go do something.

Paula and Camila exchange a couple of insults, one Paula says about her father using Camila. Camila mentions attempts to kill Gabriel. Then Camila tells her Juana had her baby. Paula is left thinking.

David goes I. To Dani and says he has a lot to do and needs her help.

Paula is with her lawyer, who tells her she lost the case of having rights to the baby. Paula is upset that this baby that ruined her marriage came calmly into the world and made both his parents happy. The lawyer doubts Gabriel is too happy in jail. Paula says the baby inherits all. The lawyer then tells her the divorce went through and also the shares will be Gabriel’s.

Rogelio is peacefully relaxing in his office chair when Paula comes in to tell him her divorce went through and the shares will divert back to Gabriel. Rogelio says he thought they’d have more time. Paula then tells him the baby’s been born, what are they going to do. I shudder to think!

EXTRAS

Charo tells Flo that she was thinking about the land that her father had in Playa Dorada. She asks Flo what happened with it. Flo answers that he sold it a long time ago. He said it was the best business deal of his life. Charo asks who he brought the land from. Flo answers she has no idea but knows that he bought it for a very low price when he was young. Charo changes the subject.

Ismael tells Amanda that like it or not if he wants to be close to his child, the best thing is for him to go back to Flo.

Vicente was looking for a part time job. He saw an ad for somebody to teach basic computer skills to an older woman (played by Nuria Bajes). He gives her a call. She is eager to access the internet because she has heard you can find everything there. She has bought a brand new computer, brought it home, turned it on but that was as far as she could go. Vicente assures her he can teach her how to use it and says it isn't all that complicated. She says he can say that because he is young. She wants to be as up on technology as her sister's grandchildren who are always doing something on their tablets or phones.

I apppreciate your explaining what Florencia told Charo when questioned about Playa Dorada. I got the impression she knew little and that she wasn't involved in any underhanded scheming (for once). I wonder if he actually did buy it "for a very low price" or simply swindled JP's father out of it. Hmmm.

I couldn't make heads or tails as to what Vincente was doing in the scene with Nuria (great to see her). I'm assuming this means something but have no idea what. I like these little side stories.

*Had no clue that Ramiro had a dark past back in the day, so he offers his own life in exchange for Tina's freedom & rescue. Doesn't work out as the thugs put both Ramiro & Tina into the trunk of the vehicle.

*Law enforcement catches the thugs & arrest them for kidnapping, etc.,

*DNA test for Amelia's kid: Maury Povich reveal in 84, 83....

*Triggered Ivan is still a triggered & arrogant asshole. Jorge Poza knows how to piss off the viewers with his Antagonistic roles in recent Telenovelas.

*Somewhere in the episode, Amelia put two & two together regarding her deceased brother. We see her crying at the gravesite: I wonder how Slippery Eduarda will explain this one.

*Triggered Ivan instigates an accident of his own on purpose in a pitiful attempt of gaining sympathy LOL.

The prison doctor is the father of the galan . He was,a very popular telenovela actor. I first saw him as the villain in my first telenovela Alborado. What a surprise !! I am sure that Salvador told the doctor that Gabriel needs protection.

FUGITIVAS #68 Part 1

People often claim to hunger for truth, but seldom like the taste when it’s served up - George R.R. Martin

Marta comes in and sees Frida, totally distraught. Marta’s face falls, her heart going out to Frida. Why are you so sad she asks. Frida tells her she is gravely ill and is going to die. Please tell me it’s not true Marta sobs. Frida admits she has lupus and has been ill for the last few years.

Florencia and Nico continue their talk. He asks if she is going to raise HIS son with Ismael. I think he threatens to tell Ismael after which she bares her teeth and uses her father as a sword to vanquish that idea.

The chop suey was delicious Alejandro tells Lorena. He takes her hand and she falls on his lap as they kiss. His phone rang at this inopportune time. Of course I’m interested he tells the caller (Raphael?) More kissing ensues.

Frida asks Marta to keep her secret and not to tell Dario. Dario loves you Marta insists. Marta shakes her head but Frida continues to beg. I believe Marta agrees but pleads with her to fight and not succumb. Marta says there must be medicine she can take. Then all of a sudden, Marta’s expression changes and it is clear she has had a revelation; she knows of a wonderful doctor who can help Frida! Please she asks, for Dario, for her…por favor, let’s see the doctor. Marta opens her address book to make the call.

Florencia tells Arturo nothing about Nico. She and he get into an argument; she tells him Ismael is the baby’s father whether he likes it or not. Esta bien he says, clearly not liking it.

Alejandro takes Lorena home and they hug and kiss right out in the open (once again). Te amos are exchanged.

Montse asks Lorena where she has been; with Alejandro is the answer. Montse has an attitude due to the way she was treated about Facundo and snaps at her.

Marta has worked some kind of miracle having immediately secured an appointment and is now at the doctor’s office with Frida.

Patricio calls and asks Marta to come over but she declines; he is clearly disappointed. Frida then urges her to call him back and accept which Marta does. Patricio is clearly delighted as he gives his signature deep, sexy laugh.

Ismael enters Nico’s office. Without preamble, Nico starts right in on Florencia’s pregnancy and Arturo. I think Ismael says he doesn’t want his son around Arturo’s influence. Nico grimaces.

The doctor greets Marta warmly. Frida tells him about her lupus diagnosis as he listens intently.

FUGITIVAS #68 Part 2

Lorena tries to comfort a very upset Montse. Montse says Facundo is in love with her but Lorena is concerned about Montse’s safety. Montse doesn’t want to hear any of this. I don’t want to hurt you; it’s not my intention Lorena says. Montse says “esta bien” I will break up with Facundo. Really? Lorena asks, hugging her.

Marta arrives at Patricio’s. Good evening she says, sweet Patricio counters with it’s a marvelous evening! Please sit he asks. Would you like vino or tequila he asks.

Later, Marta looks at a brochure; something about magnetic therapy.

Arturo talks with Charo. She brings up Playa Dorada. Arturo seemed to indicate he took over his partner’s business as he had lost interest in it. Charo looks skeptical and deep in thought.

As Marta’s face crumbles, Patricio asks her what is wrong. She tells him one of her friends is very ill. Cancer he asks; no, Lupus she replies. They hold hands as she relates her heartbreak for her friend. He is very sympathetic and is very sorry to hear this; it’s heartbreaking. He whispers gentle words of comfort and hugs her.

Erick is finishing putting the chairs in the bar away as Dario tells Frida he wants to talk to her. It is obvious he is in torment but she stiffens her spine and rebuffs him kindly saying good night and leaves.

Montse’s phone pings with a sweet message from Facundo. She tells Lorena she will break up with Facundo but will do it in person not over the phone.

Matias calls Frida and she asks where he is. She goes to meet him and they set off to the market. In one of the stalls, Frida accidentally knocks over a box of fruit. Frida apologizes and pays the vendor for the fruit. The vendor (the marvelous Maria Prado) gets ugly and pretends Frida pushed her and consequently, she hurt her leg seemingly trying to extort money for her “pain”. It’s not true Frida says, trying to defend herself. Unfortunately, the police show up as the woman cries crocodile tears. Frida says it was an accident. Another vendor comes over and as a crowd quickly gathers, Frida insists that Matias go home. The vendor notices the chamaco is gone but the police say he wasn’t involved. Frida is taken away as is the “hobbling” vendor. Matias, beside himself, watches from the street.

Matias calls Marta (who is at the doctor’s) and frantically tells her what happened; Frida was arrested and it’s all my fault! Be calm she tells him…

FUGITIVAS #68 Part 3 of 3

Facundo meets up with Montse and they go off.

At the police station, the vendor is complaining about her leg “injury” as the police and Frida listen; Frida apologizing profusely. The vendor has no sympathy, Frida is going to have to suffer the consequences.

Arturo has company. We see one couple already there; guess who else is coming for cocktails?? Facundo AND Montse. Facundo introduces Cecelia. Of course Arturo recognizes her but can’t quite place her. Somehow, Montse manages to keep her composure.

Frida is interviewed in one of the offices. As she babbles, the policeman has a picture of Frida in his hand when lo and behold, Frida’s mug shot pops up on his computer.

Arturo is still trying to figure out where he knows Montse from when Lisset appears with drinks; she and Montse stare at each other.

Frida realizes she is in trouble…

Lisset accidently (on purpose) spills a drink on Montse. In the kitchen, Lisset demands to know what she is doing. She tells her she had planned to break up with Facundo but…

Dario comes into the kitchen where Matias is crying his heart out. It’s my fault he sobs. He tells his father something bad happened. Where is Frida? At the police station he says, Dario is incredulous as his son relates the story.

Patricio gets a call and hurries out. He goes to Ismael’s office and tells him Frida has been arrested. Ismael offers to go with him but Patricio says it’s not necessary. Ismael goes over and looks at Frida’s picture on the wall. (Where is Amanda; hasn’t she smelled blood in the water I sniff??)

Dario continues to try and comfort Matias.

I tried my best to keep up; everything seemed to happen fast and furious. I’m very tired so apologize in advance for any typos and/or incoherent statements. Is this it for Frida? I can’t imagine how she is going to get out of this. Kindly fill in what I missed and/or misinterpreted.

Juana #60 part 1 of 3

Paula tells Rogelio the baby was born. She feels Gabriel won, but Rogelio says no. She’s lost her husband, her shares and wants to know what they’re going to do about the baby that will inherit all.

Claudio goes to see Gabriel in the infirmary. He congratulates him on his son and tells him he’s divorced from Paula. She will try again to get his shares but she won’t. He can handle them from the jail. He tells Gabriel to be patient because now they know Rogelio’s plan.

Enriqueta is telling Juana and Felipe what’s happening at the brewery. Juana asks Felipe what he thinks, he says he’s just a mechanic. She says he has a business. He says you can’t compare my business to the brewery. He asks Enriqueta why Carlos didn’t come with her. She shrugs and says he’ll probably come later, they don’t like to leave the brewery empty of them. Enriqueta leaves and Juana gets on Felipe for acting so disinterested. He mentions Carlos and Juana tells him it’s obvious that Enriqueta likes Felipe and he likes her. Josefina comes in. Jenny stayed with Ramon, who is sleeping. They think this was too much for him but Josefina wanted to be here for the birth of her great grandson.

Dilicious soup is on the stove and Margarita serves Jenny a bowl. She asks if Gabriel knows about the baby. Jenny tells her about the video call. Margarita talks about Salvador’s eyes and thinks Jenny should forgive him.

Dani is telling Susa and Viviana how she had plans with Reny and David said he needed her here. She feels it was very unjust. The girls smile to each other and say it sounds suspicious and not at all like David. Meanwhile David is telling Carlos about his meeting with Elvira and how she now may think it might be someone else and not Gabriel.

Claudio and Gabriel are talking about Rogelio’s plans for the brewery. They’re going to fight it because Gabriel will not let his son’s name disappear.

Elvira shows up at Salvador’s desk asking his opinion. He opens his board and says his opinion doesn’t matter, only the evidence. All the arrows point to Rogelio, who is now the president and ruining the business.

David is glad to hear the divorce is done but he is worried about the brewery but Carlos says at least now we have hope. Carlos is happy to go see the baby, and David says he’s his uncle too, just not by blood.

Pacheco and Salvador are talking about Elvira when Quiroz arrives to tell them the date of the trial. Claudio gets a call while he’s still with Gabriel and tells him they have three months to gather proof. Gabriel doesn’t like the thought of three months without seeing Juana and the baby.

David and Carlos arrive at the hospital. Carlos says he’s the uncle grandfather. Jenny realizes she’s a grandmother. Juana tells them Gabriel has seen the baby through video calls. She also tells them she learned he’s been attacked. They all say he asked them not to say anything to protect her.

Enriqueta tells Inez about the baby. Then she tells her Inez was there. Inez wants to know what happened. Enriqueta says she doesn’t know, he seems jealous but she’s totally confused with him. Inez starts speaking strongly about men and Enriqueta wonders if there’s a man in her life. She says she was talking about a friend. Enriqueta will take the mechanic classes. If the mountain won’t come to her she’ll go to the mountain.

Felipe thinks back to being with Enriqueta. Then he calls for Chimis.
But Chimis is presenting a rose to Yadria. He tells her she’s prettier than the rose. She accepts his invitation to go dancing and starts kissing him asMemo and the two woman look on.

Claudio is with Salvador. He wants his help in showing that Rogelio had an interest in Francisco’s shares and didn’t want Gabriel to have them. Salvador tells him about Elvira now doubting Gabriel’s guilt.

Thank you, Diana, for another great recap and also a quote that was so appropriate. What a keeper! Great question about where Amanda was for the arrest. So glad she wasn't the one to make it.

Funny how everyone is supposed to be in hiding but they are all out and about. Frida thought nothing of going to a market in broad daylight? If Matías didn't think of the risk, she should have. He is still a kid, she isn't.
EXTRAS

Frida doesn't want to go to any other doctors because the only treatment they can give her is palliative in the form of corticosteroids. She ended up feeling so bad, she couldn't even get up. There is no point living like that.

Ismael asks Nico if he took care of the Mother's Day gifts. He says he did. Nico wants to know how he is going to deal with Flo's baby without having and contact with the Márquez. Ismael says he is thinking of reconciling with Flo because of the baby because he wants it to grow up in the bosom of a family. Nico says traditional families are not necessary any longer. Ismael knows that but is willing to do whatever is necessary for the benefit of his child. Ismael adds that he is putting Nico in charge of the gifts.Nico agrees he will take care of them.

Marta takes Frida to a homeopathic physician. He knows he cannot cure her but he has some medications that should make her feel better and not worse.

Vicente explains to Gabriela about his new part time job. The woman is paying him very well to teach her about computers. He wats to use that money to pay back any money he owes his father for the lawyer, the fines and the damage to the bar that he paid for.

Montse is upset because it seems to her that she is the only one who has limits put on her activities. She is tired of seeing Lorena pop in and out and Lisset going to work everyday while she is expected to hide inside. She agrees to break up with Facundo in her own way and in her own time.

Not wanting to repeat the only thing he knows how to cook AKA chicken in white wine, Patricio has ordered out for Arabic food for himself and Marta. Marta is drinking mineral water. He tells her that he earlier heard "Por nuestros pecados" (For Our Sins) while he was in his car and it made him think of her. He goes to play it for her on his phone. She thinks it is pretty but then starts to cry and tells him about her friend who is dying.

Charo is making a Spanish tortilla: egg and potato dish for supper which makes her think of Guillermo who liked them, too. She asks Arturo if he ever had a clue that Guillermo would have killed himself. What could have happened to him that he would make such a drastic decision? Arturo thinks he must have been depressed although he hid it very well. Arturo says Guillermo lost interest in their work and that is when he had to take it all over. Charo says that must have been when he got the Playa Dorada land. Arturo agrees and adds that Guillermo was a good man and it is a pity he ended up like he did.
 

Juana $60 part 2

Paula is telling Manuel how they need to get rid of the baby. Manuel can’t believe she would do something to a baby. She says obviously they need to get rid of it. They’ve tried to kill Gabriel. Manuel wonders when she turned into such a monster. She says he’s weak, just like their mom.

Rogelio comes into Paula’s office wanting her to go with him. She’s not done with her work. He orders her to, he can make her disappear. She says she can shout right now. He has her by the hair and she tells him to let go, the only man she loves is Gabriel Rubio. He tells her to come or her mother will disappear.

Viviana comes up to Manuel and kisses him. She’s winemaking to stop hiding their relationship and have him live with her. He needs to stay near his dad. She’s worried about his safety if he keeps helping Gabriel.

Dani is at the trucks looking for Reny. David shows up telling her about his and Carlos’ visit to the hospital. Dani tells him she’s not going to change her plans, goodbye. He asks if Reny is that important to her. He’s been seeing her differently. He kisses her. Dani says that was an intense kiss. He tells her the only thing he had to drink was water. He really likes her. She says as friends and he tells her no, more than friends. He asks if she likes him, she does, it now she has an opportunity with someone else, Reny. She needs to think and decide. David understands and they part ways. For now!

Jenny and Juana have good mother, daughter time with the baby. Juana feels it’s magical. Jenny tells her to sleep when the baby sleeps. She’s going to the cafeteria. As she leaves the room Camacho callls Rogelio and tells him Juana is alone with the baby now. Paula is with him.

Josefina asks Memo to visit the baby. He thinks it’s a family thing and he would be a bother. She tells him he’s never been a bother. She tells him Ramon is getting worse and asks him to visit him. He agrees to do that.

Paula and Rogelio go,in Juana’s room and Paula picks up the baby. Juana wakes up and begs them for the baby. Paula says without her she wouldn’t have this baby she wants her to thank her. She does. Rogelio says they have no interest in hurting a baby. He gives her a check, it’s enough money to disappear and raise her son elsewhere. They don’t like that he’s Gabriel’s heir. Jenny walks in and looks at all of them.

Now we know Frida had limited treatment options causing her to have side effects were likely as bad as the symptoms themselves. 

Likewise your explaining that Marta took Frida to a homeopathic doctor who cannot cure her but can alleviate the symptoms.

I thought Patricio mentioned chicken but couldn't figure out in what context. :)

I assume Guillermo is Juan Pablo's father, right? So Guillermo killed himself? (Did we know that before?) Or could he have been murdered - just like Jauan Pablo??

I was so relieved we had an (almost) Amanda free night.

Juana #60 part 3

Claudio and Carlos are talking. Carlos is upset that it will be three months till the trial. Claudio says it will be fine.

Jenny is now being told about the money. Juana is ripping it up. She starts yelling at them. She tells Paula Gabriel doesn’t love her, she cheated on him and lied to him. Rogelio is telling Jenny to,quit yelling. Paula says the baby is really his. Jenny tells her she’s crazy. Rogelio keeps telling her to calm down and Juana tells her to get the baby. Jenny gets the baby and says she’s calling the police. She also calls for a nurse. Two nurses come in and Rogelio tells Paula they should go.

Dani meets Reñí at the restaurant. She looks at another table and thinks of kissing David. Reñí is talking about love and she stops him. She apologizes but tells him she has feelings for someone else.

Salvador is in Juana’s room. He can’t believe the Fuemayors actually came in the room. Juana says she was petrified seeing her baby in that witch’s arms. Her mother was great, Salvador isn’t surprised. Jenny doesn’t want him commenting on her character. Salvador says he’ll post a guard but Jenny says Salvador will come. Jenny leaves and Juana tells him she’s still hurt but really cares for him.

Felipe tells Chimis he’s going to the hospital. Chimis says he has a date to go dancing with Yadira. Felipe tells him to be careful with her, but then tells him if you’re happy I’m happy. Chimis would like to see hi and Enriqueta together. Felipe tells him to think of himself, not me.

Dani returns to work. David is dozing. Suzy told her he’d be working late. David asks how her date was. She says nice things about Reny and David doesn’t want to hear anymore. Then she says he was very nice when she told him they could only be friends. She tells David she only loved one person, and it’s him. He starts talking and she tells him don’t talk so much, kiss.

The woman are ready to go to the church for the baby’s baptism. They don’t think Ramon will go as he’s very weak. But Felipe comes out with Ramon on his arm. He talks about the beautiful women in the family. Margarita is staying behind to take care of last minute details and to be there when the first guests arrive.

Claudio is talking to the guards and shows them papers. Gabriel comes out and gets in a police car with Salvador and Pacheco. At the church Jenny is nervous about Gabriel coming. The police car pulls up and Salvador uncuffs Gabriel. He asks if this is protocol but Salvador isn’t worried about him running off. A happy family reunion where Gabriel gets to hold his baby for the first time.

Rogelio is having a meeting at the brewery with the shareholders. He tells them he tried to save the business but the former president had run it into the ground and he couldn’t raise it back up. One of the shareholders hopes he has a plan. He does, as the major shareholder he’s decided they’ll merge with Astro beer. Just then Elvira and her lawyer come in and Rogelio greets her warmly. She tells him he no longer represents her with her shares. Rogelio is speechless.

They never said Guillermo was JP’s dad but I am thinking he must have been at this point. At least, they finally clarified what Frida is ill with but now it looks like her storyline for a “better” ending is over. The time is long overdue for the other fugitivas to get out of town so l hope they get going while the going is good.

Jarifa, the further we go down the path, more challenging roadblocks are emerging.

I'm relieved you think Guillermo is likely JP's father too. I was wondering if there was something I missed or if I was way off the beaten path (again!!) For much of this, I feel I've been feeling my way around in the dark...

While this hasn't been a beacon of light filled happiness, Frida's story seems overly dark...things are looking bleak. I kept thinking misdiagnosis but don't think that will happen. Perhaps the writers are going for a tragic ending but I'll be disappointed if that happens.

I thought having Montse show up (unknowingly) at Arturo's was rather inspired. That was really fun...I never know what will happen next! I can't imagine how this will all turn out.

Yadira and Chimis. It's nice she is willing to give him a chance. Did you notice the chubby barrio gossip girl was upset. She had her eye on him. Also in the previous episode they left in a huff after hearing what she did to Salvador. Maybe she has nude photos of them from the gym or something. They are switching hairdressers.

Thanks Kat. I notices the girl was upset and figured it was about man-crazy Yadira. Didn’t realize she liked Chimis. I’d rather see Chimis with the chubby girl. He’s a nice guy and I don’t think too much of Yadira. I knew they we’re mad at Yadira over the video but didn’t realize they we’re changing Hairdressers! Good for them. Yadira needs to lean her behavor is inaceptable.

Thanks Susan. During that whole scene i kept telling myself they wouldn’t hurt the baby. But Paula is crazy. Rogelio is calculating, he may not be as dangerous as his daughter. But i wonder what would have happened if Juana hadn’t woken up. I thought they were going to kidnap him, then we’re have to wait until the end for the reunion.! At the end of one telenovela someone ended up in a mental hospital constantly holding a baby doll. I can picture Paula like that.
