Thanks for the highlights, Niecie.

Yeah, the Cemre – Leyla connection is weird. They really can’t go any further with that.

What happened to Ergun was terrible, but he was a terrible person. I feel sorry for Devin and Yagmur. Nese’s behavior is so inappropriate.

There is another suspect in Ergun’s murder, his business partner, Sermet. IIRC, Sermet was suing Ergun. It was strange when he showed up at the house and told Devin how he thought of Ergun as a brother. Something was fishy. Then they found a text on Ergun’s phone from Sermet threatening to kill him. I’m sure Aslan hopes Sermet is the guilty party.

“I noticed folks were wearing a photo of Ergun on their lapel. Maybe this is a Turkish custom?” Yes. They wear them at the funeral service and at the cemetery. I think it’s a way for the mourners to honor and remember the deceased. It was strange to see the men and women in the same space at Nese’s. They are usually in separate rooms or floors of a house in the dizis I’ve seen. No prayers. And where was the halva?

Very busy day and evening. Thanks so much, Niecie, for the well-written brief summary of what happened. I didn't expect Ergun to be offed so quickly. Is my memory faulty or did Hulya actually wonder whether she should have paid him off?

Yes, Aslan drove me nuts last night trying to get Devin to "get over it fast". Many times it seems to me that he wants Devin to behave a certain way because it's more convenient for him.

I thought Hulya put on a different necklace last night. The other one looked like turquoise. I thought the one she put on looked like emeralds.

It almost seems too good to be true for Ergun's phone to have that recording we heard.

Almost time for Zoom book club. I'll put up a quickie tonight.

#58 Devin plays the recording that it’s said Ergun texted to Hulya. I thought he stood in front of her and played it; but maybe they’re implying he did both. Then she reads Ergun’s text aloud: You’ll give me the money I want, or you’ll go to prison with me and lose your son forever.

Aslan starts babbling about his mother getting better. Devin reminds him the plot to break up their marriage was quite a while ago. Aslan and Devin decide to investigate. Devin will work on Hulya and Aslan on Sermat.

Hulya got a library room at the foundation named after Ergun.

Bedri says something to Ilyas about Ilyas' plan for the neighborhood needing to wait until the marina thing is fixed.

Kiymet tells Bedri he needs to make sure Nedret never comes to this house again.

Devin starts pushing Hulya’s buttons. She tells her the police know the brakes were damaged, and the cops are close.

Aslan tells Sermat about Ergun’s death being a homicide. From what I could tell Serman doesn’t flinch.

Yagur goes after Devin, reaming her out for associating with Hulya when she might have killed their father.

Bedri comes to ask who the man was who caused Nedret to be exiled to Adana. She clams up. He decides to fly to Adana.

We get another Aslan/Devin therapy session. Before they begin Aslan is trying hard to convince Devin that Sermat killed her father.

Nedret talks to some guy at the Foundation. He thinks she’s likely to win the presidency. He’s showing her a video of Ergun yelling at Hulya when said Hulya shows up, entering without knocking.

I’m not liking the guilt Devin is showing. What her father did to both girls for YEARS isn’t forgivable. And he only felt fatherly when his second wife and child and then his career were taken.

Cemre got a job in another country, and she asks Leyla to come along.

Aslan tells the shrink his mother is a weight on his shoulders and always has been. He’s felt it lifting recently; but, if she did what he thinks she did, the weight is back on.

We get some needed comic relief. Iskoc and Turgut have come to Sermat’s clinic to look for evidence. Iskoc says they’re screwed; no visitors allowed. Turgut: “We’re not visitors; we’re mafia.” They don the usual, readily available doctors' coats. There’s an amazingly funny scene with Turgut treating a guy whose main problem seems to be an overbearing wife. He lifts the guy, cracking his back into place and warning him about “oppressors”.

Aslan takes Devin to a closed ice rink. Nice move. She actually starts laughing.

Aslan can’t play it cool in front of his mother. He’s visibly hostile when they arrive home, despite Devin’s pleas. He says to her: “Do you think there is a person that even love can’t cure?”
 

Venganza #55

Got my eyes dilated this a.m.. slowly getting back to normal. I'll post what I can before going home today ( babysitting 2 this afternoon so I don't have a just me time during her nap. In fact grandson is wanting to do science or craft time.)

Fists fly in female fashion between Elisa and Fernanda over Francisco. Stalemate.

Tania tells Alonso, still in his hospital bed, she only loved part of him, all he has is air in his head, nothing worth loving. I'm thinking she is overplaying her hand and she will be caught.

Monica talks with Beltran at an open air restaurant who says he never wanted children, Fernanda was much too immature to raise a child so he found an alternative home for her ( could he be charged with statutory rape or has too much time passed?).

Fernanda visits Francisco (and Marcelo). She complains about Elisa slapping her. More of the same about her needing to tell the truth about Beltran.

Paty drives up to Fermin and Erika's home, giving it a dismissive glare. Fermin let's her in, she is bearing gifts of sumptuous pastry. She tells them she forgives them. Claudia and Erika says they don't need forgiving, she on the other hand. Erika takes the box of cake, removed one and politely rubs it in Paty's face. Claudia grins.

Tania returns home, sits on the floor with her back up against the wall and reflects back on what she told Alonso.

Monica returns home. Sebastian has been worried about her. She says she met with her father.

Gabriel and Alfredo quietly discuss the lawsuit situation, I think they are planning when to off Adelberto. Gabriel brings up the fact that Monica will most likely be Beltran's heir. ( Will she be their next victim after they kill Beltran somehow, or his natural demise occurs sooner than later?)

Ok, I'll get to the rest of the show later. Just wanted to post this part while it is fresh in my mind.

126.) Tania: You are still a DEAD WOMAN WALKING girl: going to the hospital & visiting Slick Alonso. Does this STUPID idiot realize she's signing her death warrant ?

127.) Beltran was somewhat honest telling Monica he didn't want to be a father. Giving Monica to adoptive parents was the best thing for her.

128.) Francisco, Gullible Elisa & Crazy Goldie Locks: FAST FORWARD. I cannot stand the three of them: they're too damn triggered.

129.) Sebastian is worried about Monica & I think he needs to be worried about what EVIL plans Alfredo & Gabriel are plotting against Monica down the road.

130.) Where is Dr. Mirna: Should she at least consider helping getting Tania out of the country?

131.) It appears the beginning of the end of Daddy & Mommy Ferrero has officially begun. Gut feeling Brenda will be joining the Body Count soon.

132.) Paty is starting to piss me off so much. I want to slap the expletive out of her so bad.

133.) I would like to know why did Paty forgive Erika, Fermin & Claudia? Is Paty that naive ?

134.) I did enjoy watching Erika rubbing the cake in Paty's face: LOL.

135.) Where is Ana in last night's episode ? Did she make an appearance? She's the major key in the house of cards in all of this chaos.

136.) Francisco: You're the DUMBEST Protagonist that I've ever seen in any Telenovela. At least Alejandro Gaitan was skillful in plotting his revenge (although it took him 17 years to get justice against those who destroyed his life).

137.) Why do I get the feeling those two ladies, who were in the motel when Tania castrated Slick Alonso's little bishop, will be tortured & eventually killed by Gabriel & Alfredo's thugs in giving Tania up ?

138.) Monica: WATCH YOUR BACK because now that Gabriel has brought up the fact that Monica will be Beltran's heir, I would be shocked IF Gabriel & Alfredo have Monica killed. My question to Sebastian: What are YOU going to do about it ?

Belated thanks, Niecie, for the highlights (and lowlights) from Wednesday's episode.

And thanks very much, novelera, for again stepping up to cover a second episode this week. I agree with what you've said about Devin's grief. Given how many reservations and resentments she has about her father, I'm surprised at how devastated she seems to feel about his death. Although, actually, much of that grief is really guilt that she didn't get to talk to him and find out what he had to say.

I enjoyed the episode of Turgut and Isok pretending to be doctors. Actually, Turgut's cure for the man's back problem reminded me of a similar cure my doctor gave me many years ago. My back had gone out, I was in a lot of pain, and he told me to stand next to him, back to back. He then bent over, lifted me up off the ground, and BINGO, my pain was gone!

I wonder what the chances are that Sermat was responsible for killing Ergun. I think my money is still on Hulya, but if the writers are trying for a surprise....

Gracias, Novelera. "They don the usual, readily available doctors' coats." It was fun to see Turgut and Iskoc front and center last night. I'm starting to think there will be a HEA after all.

Now I'm not so sure that Hulya did it and I'm wondering what she did order her henchman to do or not to do. Sermat seems okay, but ... I'm wondering if his kids just happened to be home so that he could appear a normal family
guy.

I'm glad Devin finally stood up to Yagmur guilting her. For a moment, I thought Devin would slap her, but I'm glad she didn't.

Mama Hulya cooked a dish with her own hands for Aslan and Devin. And there he sits seething and about to go off on her. If she were any other mother, I'd feel bad for her.

Turgut and Iskoc are just the cutest couple here. They deserve happiness.

Isn't Bedri from Adana? What does he expect to find that he shouldn't already be familiar with?

My money is still on Hulya being the killer. Maybe I'm hoping since the other guy has a wife and kid, but there just isn't one bit of remorse for anything she does. Not to Devin or to her own daughter that she seems to have forgotten all about. I hope Leyla takes her kids, Eko's rescue dog and leaves the country with Cemre.

Venganza #55 part 2

Fernanda , you are the love of my life...FF.
Gabriel and Alfredo discuss Fernanda's affair. Gabriel says, smoothe over it, water under the bridge. They are out associates.

Paty and Claudia argue as Paty wipes cake off her face, gets in her car and drives off.
Adelberto and Ninette ask Brenda how is your divorce coming. The sooner we are not tied to that riffraff (gentuza) the better.

Fernanda refuses to meet with Francisco and Marcelo's lawyers to denounce Beltran. She says it will just be his word against mine. The best thing is for us to go far away, together. Forget about all that has happened.

Alfredo is in his home office bemoaning to Elisa their fate in a few days. Guess he figures he will lose the lawsuit. He sips scotch or whiskey from from his glass as Elisa asks him to stop drinking already. He wonders who his real father is.

Ninette tells Adelberto don't worry about Gabriel, Brenda has a new mystery beau

Mirna counsels Tania, because of course she still hasn't found a real shrink.

Gabriel and Brenda , post coitus, discuss Monica talking to Eugeni. Gabriel cynically says I'm sure she welcomed him with open arms as he is Mr moneybags, and possibly dying soon. Brenda insists she isn't like that.

Eugenio calls Fern saying how pretty their daughter is, reminds me of you at that age. She lights her matches one by one.

Rafita and Miguel discuss there upcoming job. Claudia tries to eavesdrop while cleaning tables.

Ana is at Francisco's place. More badmouthing Fern which Francisco is tired of. He bends down to get his phone to call her a taxi and she lip locks him. He throws her off. She begs him to give her a chance, she can make him happy ( with syphilis? Is she a carrier for life now?)

Elisa and Alfredo some more. She talks about her love for Francisco. He is mad that he took advantage of her while a minor. She says he is only 2 years older. Alfredo shakes his head, how can both my daughter's be in love with this guy? Elisa says what? He says Ana wants him too.

Gabriel is complaining to Brenda that the money to fix Alonso is wasted on that trash. Brenda tries to point out that his father is supporting a son. Imagine if you were in that situation. He doesn't want to talk about it anymore as she reaches to caress his cheek he says the proverbial, no me toques.

Eugenio' continues to taunt Fernanda about how Monica had nothing good to say about her. As Fern knows. Then he talks about fish which I'm sure is some sort of Spanish idiom I'm unfamiliar with.
 

Venganza #55 part 3

Ana asks Francisco what about Manuel, Fernanda killed her. He shuts her down. I'm not interested in having a relationship with you now or ever. Stop coming to see me. As she leaves she tells him I hope when you find out who Fernanda' really is that it isn't too late.

Tania is still stressing about Alonso. Mirna urges her to get professional help. She thinks maybe she should take care of him and the guilt will go away. Mirna shakes her head in exasperation.

Erika, wearing a red dress that looks like maternity wear( nice to see the show advancing her pregnancy) tells Elisa that Francisco doesn't want to even talk to Fernanda'. His attraction to her is simply physical.

Joseph Price, asks Ana out on a date to listen to jazz, get a bite to eat. She rudely tells him she doesn't like jazz and she doesn't want to go out with anyone. He says so you just want to stay at home until you are an old Lady. That gives her pause to think about it. He goes off to teach his class.

Gabriel, Alfredo, Francisco and Marcelo discuss business and Beltran. Francisco wants to find proof he killed his grandmother. Alfredo makes a remark I can buy you a gun to solve your vengeance plan.

Paty and Fernanda talk. Fern is pumping her for insider information about the goings on at the business.

Francisco talks with Lawyers about the case against Eugenio.

Fernanda wants Miguel to attack Claudia. I want you to get your guys to mess her up bad, but keep her alive. He says when. As soon as possible. Attack her!

Excellent comments, guys. Yes, Niecie, I also have a bit of a premonition that Hulya may be innocent in arranging Ergun's death. It seems like the kind of twist these writers like. And I also was glad Devin didn't go for Yagmur's haranguing her for supposedly forgiving Hulya for killing their father. Devin should have reminded her about the time her father watched her from a window while she begged to see him. Then he came down and treated her like a mangy stray dog. This scene is more evidence that Yagmur continues to be damaged.

I also hope Leyla leaves with Cemre, K. The scene at Ergun's funeral, when everyone wore those photo badges of him, Hulya came face to face with her daughter and just turned away. My DIL had a toxic mother, who's no longer alive. She spoiled and worshipped her sons and treated both daughters badly. My DIL thinks of ME as her mother.

*Can we really trust Joseph Price ? What's his backstory ?

*Ana hates jazz. Oh well: She's missing out.

*Tania needs professional help ASAP. I'm afraid she'll have some deadly coming her way.

*I see that Crazy Goldie Locks wants Miguel & the thugs to violently rough up Claudia. But why do I get the feeling that Erika could potentially be collateral damage ?

*Wake me up when Brenda gets killed off. I'm done with her.

*Crazy Goldie Locks pumping Annoying Paty for information isn't shocking.

First, my thanks to novelera for the Thursday recap.

Aslan’s vardabit doesn’t go down smoothly. He asks Hulya, do you think love can heal a person, Mom? No answer from Hulya and Aslan leaves the table, followed by Devin.

Nese is in a fit of mania. She’s rearranging the furniture, and Yagmur is trying to keep up with her. Yagmur receives a call from Bedri. He called to see if she needed anything. She tells him she’s fine—just as Nese knocks a glass object to the floor. Yagmur yells at Nese to wait. Bedri asks again if she needs help. She asks him, where are you? I’m your faithful servant, he answers, where would you find your faithful servant? I’m outside your door. Yagmur is pleasantly surprised.

Elif and Eko are walking on the street. Elif notes that Devin and her Dad weren’t close, but still, he was her father. Allah rahmet eylesin – may God have mercy on him. Amen. They are both carrying helmets, but Eko seems surprised that Elif wants to take her moto. She doesn’t want to get stuck in Istanbul traffic. She asks him if he’s afraid to take the moto. He denies it and says it’s cold outside. She wants him to hop on the back.

Bedri is inside the house and Nese is now rearranging her closet. He wonders about that and Yagmur explains to him, there’s no reason, she’s manic. My mother is bipolar. She’s energetic at times. She was devastated by Dad’s passing. [I hadn’t noticed devastation, but maybe that triggered the mania.]

Three idiots pass by Eko and Elif and comment about Eko riding on the back of Elif’s moto. How humiliating! Manhood questions. Elif wants Eko to ignore them and leave but them’s fightin’ words. Eko throws a punch. Three against one and Elif gasps, no! Ha, Elif bashes one of the instigators over the head with her helmet. The jerks run off. Eko asks Elif if she’s okay. Yep, they are both okay. Why did you hit him with your helmet, he asks. It’s a good helmet, very expensive, she replies, worth every penny. They laugh and hug.

Yagmur continues to explain to Bedri. Very soon she [Nese] will stop and fall into the void. God forbid, Bedri answers, don’t even joke. Yagmur’s phone pings and she goes leaving Bedri, who is still watching Nese. Nese wanders out on the terrace and looks at the pitiful potted plants. There’s a gardening tool out on the roof and she reaches for it.

Bedri becomes alarmed as Nese reaches farther out on the roof. She’s going to fall! Bedri rushes and grabs her. He drags her back into the house. Nese shouts, what are you doing? Let go, you pervert! Yagmur runs in. What happened? She was about to jump, Bedri exclaims. Nese fires back, jump? I was trying to retrieve a tool! Bedri apologizes. They all start laughing, until Nese’s laughs turn into sobs. She laments, everything could’ve been wonderful, Ergun! Yagmur consoles her mom. My life went to hell, Nese cries, why did it have to be this way? Bedri is affected by this.

Devin reminds Aslan that they wouldn’t do anything until they were sure. Aslan has convinced himself that Hulya is guilty. He says, my father destroyed us all and the mother we hoped to heal… Devin tries to calm him down.

Cihan brings a surprise to Serap. A suitcase. She thinks he’s packed his bags to go. Nope. He’s staying. You said you liked the 90s, he explains. The 90s are in there. See for yourself. Serap smiles and opens the bag. It’s full of toys and random items from the 90s. She picks up a squirt ring. Cihan gives her the go ahead and she squirts him. They laugh.

Isko calls Aslan. They will have the footage from Ergun’s house tomorrow. And they snuck into Sermet’s hospital and found a goldmine of info. His house, car, etc. are all up for sale. He’s planning to go abroad. Sermet is looking very guilty in Devin’s eyes now. Aslan tells her to be calm. Don’t forget the hospital was reported. That could be why he’s running. Doesn’t mean he’s a murderer. He’s just a suspect, like Hulya. Devin seems to think Hulya is innocent. [I’d love for Hulya to be guilty and go to prison, but it’s leaning towards Sermet now.]

Serap is thrilled with these “silly things”. Cihan tells her, I love to hear you laugh. When you laugh like that, I laugh on the inside. [Turkish] When your face falls, it’s over for me. She replies, do you know why I laugh so much, kebapci? Because no one has ever loved me as much in this life as you have loved me. We’re idiots, Cihan answers.

Hulya admonishes Arif. You’re an idiot! You failed! Flashback. Arif is driving Hulya. He says the cops found a phone in Ergun’s car, but it wasn’t the phone with the voice messages. Hulya says they have to find that phone before Aslan does. She tells Arif to go to Ergun’s house and find it. End flash. Arif tells Hulya he searched the whole house but didn’t find it. Hulya thinks Aslan got there first. What will we do now? Nedret is watching this convo from the window.

Hulya enters the house and Nedret asks her why she was reprimanding Arif out there in the middle of the night. Hulya asks if she was spying. No, Nedret couldn’t sleep. She asks Hulya if she heard about Ergun, his death was no accident. You saw him before he died, she says. He was in someone’s way, and they got rid of him. Hulya sighs and turns away.

Nedret has one more question. When the truth of Devin’s fertility came out, what did you and Ergun do? Did you argue? Why do you want to know, Hulya replies, what are you accusing me of? God is our only judge, Nedret answers, I’m just asking questions. Go to bed, Hulya snaps, don’t drive me crazy.

Leyla calls Devin to offer her support. She asks about the accident. Devin tells her it may not have been an accident. It’s become a homicide case. Leyla is shocked. Devin has to hang up. Leyla immediately thinks her mother did it.

AsDev get ready to leave for Sermet’s gathering. Hulya wants a word with them before they go.

Leyla quickly puts the pieces together. Cemre can’t believe Hulya would be capable of something so horrible. [does Cemre have amnesia?] Leyla says she can’t be sure, but her mom has done this many times before. Cemre has her memory back, she mentions Leyla’s old boyfriend, Deniz. He was in a car accident. Leyla notes Hulya tried the same with Aysel. It wouldn’t be a surprise if she was behind Ergun’s death.

Hulya and AsDev talk in the garden. After last night’s dinner, she couldn’t sleep. It’s regarding the suspicion of foul play in Ergun’s death, she says. I felt nervous after talking to Devin yesterday. If the police search Ergun’s phones, you should know that… they will find some unpleasant conversations. I had nothing to do with what happened to him, though.

Aslan leans in with a piercing, icy stare as Hulya continues, what I’m trying to say is that you shouldn’t suspect me. Just the thought of it is upsetting. If I don’t speak up now that the police are involved… Those recordings took place months ago. Devin thanks her for her honesty. Aslan just stares at his mom.

Hulya gets up but Aslan calls, mom… why didn’t you tell us sooner? Why share this now? I’m scared, she replies, I’m trying to change and heal but I don’t know if you both believe me. We’re trying to believe you, Aslan answers. Hulya leaves.

Leyla wonders how someone could be so evil. She hasn’t changed a bit! She never will. Not until she’s given a fair punishment. Cemre asks, why do you still care so much? Let it go. If your mom did this, Aslan and Devin wouldn’t disregard it. She will get what she deserves. Leyla hopes to witness the punishment. [Inshallah, I will be right alongside Leyla.]

Cemre brings up the offer of going abroad again. I’d like to go, Leyla replies, to leave all this behind and start a new life with my children. I want them to dream new dreams. Cemre finishes Leyla’s thought—but if you leave, you won’t finish what you’ve started. Leyla nods yes. Cemre says, when we first started to get to know each other, you said you never really fought for anything in life. You lived in shame and fear. I hope the old Leyla is watching you now. You’re the bravest person I’ve ever met. Finish what you started and then join me. Do it for your children. There’s a new life waiting for you. They hug. [once again, we are left to read between the lines.]

In the kitchen, Nedret whispers to one of her guys, you haven’t been able to find a video or picture of Ergun’s accident? The guy says there’s a recording from someone who was at the scene. She tells him to follow that lead and dismisses him.

AsDev enter the kitchen and Nedret offers them breakfast. Aslan goes upstairs. Nedret asks Devin if she’s found out anything yet. No, Devin replies, but they are still evaluating. Nedret tells her she’s got some leads. Nothing conclusive yet, but she’s investigating.

Oooh, Yagmur and Bedri are sleeping together on the sofa! Nese shouts them awake from the other room—Yagmur! Yagmur falls off the sofa. Bedri panics. Your mom is coming! Nese enters the room—Bedri? You spent the night? Fumbling and stuttering for an answer, Bedri says, no, I went home, and I noticed I didn’t have my wallet. My ID is in there and I don’t want to miss my flight. Yagmur asks Bedri, what flight? He tells her he’s going to Adana. It’s about his mom and it’s complicated. He’s leaving his guys outside her house 24/7 in case she needs anything. She says it’s not necessary but thanks. Bedri makes sure Nese is out of the room and gives Yagmur a kiss on the forehead. She gives him a hug and thanks him for being there for her. You should always smile like this, he replies.

AsDev are at Sermet’s memorial for Ergun. Devin notes there’s so much hypocrisy. Devin is nervous, they are there playing detectives. There are a lot of people. She wants to get this over with quickly and go. Aslan says no worries. All she has to do is keep attention away from him so he can do the job.

Ilyas looks troubled as he sits at the breakfast table. Kiymet whispers, Serap is coming out of her room. Talk to her. She looks better, too. Ilyas and Kiymet watch as Serap and Cihan approach. They are arm in arm and Serap is smiling. Kiymet tells her son, if you want her to stay as she is now, Bedri and his mom can’t return to this house.

Serap and Cihan sit at the table. Ilyas touches Serap’s face—every day is a beautiful day with you, sweetheart. Serap looks a little surprised. Kiymet offers them breakfast. Ilyas looks at Cihan, places his hand over his heart and mouths a silent, sağ ol – thank you. Cihan nods. Cihan turns to Serap and asks, does your father know? Know what, Serap replies. Cihan motions—that we… Ilyas gets uncomfortable. What? What are you talking about? Serap and Cihan laugh. Ilyas doesn’t want to hear anything about their private life. [Did Cihan and Serap seal the deal?]

Sermet and his wife speak with AsDev. Devin thanks them for hosting the memorial. Devin says she’d like to say a few words to everyone. Sermet gets everyone’s attention for Devin. Devin speaks and Aslan sneaks away to check the computer. Sermet’s son exits the computer room and passes him. Aslan enters and sits at the computer. Ha, it seems the kid was looking at adult material. Aslan plugs in an external drive and downloads files.

The candidates for the Foundation presidency, Hulya and Nedret, are announced and they step forward to applause. They quietly snipe at each other while smiling at the crowd.

Devin stretches out her speech while Aslan anxiously waits for the download to finish. Devin turns around and sees a photo she’s never seen before. She says it’s from the last birthday party they celebrated together as a family. Sermet notices that Aslan is missing. Meanwhile, the computer is moving too slowly for Aslan’s liking.

Asuman tells Nedret that Rustem has the videos ready.

Devin is really getting into personal stuff, maybe some of it is TMI. Sermet wanders away, I think he’s looking for Aslan. Sermet heads to the computer room and is about to open the door… commercial break! When we come back, Devin notices that Sermet is about to open the door, and she calls out for him. She’s feeling overwhelmed and asks him to come and say a few words as the host.

Download is finally done. Sermet’s son bursts into the room to check on something. Aslan gives him some advice on browsing the internet. Click out of the page when you’re done and delete your history. Don’t leave evidence behind. Enjoy your adolescence—we’ve all done this sort of thing. And finally, this stays between us. They edited or unedited the scene for us viewers. In the Turkish there was no looking at and commenting on the boy’s hand. Just talking about vitamins and taking a wrong turn looking for the coats.

Aslan returns to the room and AsDev make their getaway.

Nedret and Asuman look at the video. They are shocked.

Ilyas is puzzled, what do you mean you lost your youth? What does it have to do with the Soykans? Flashback. We see a terrified Serap hiding under the bed as a man walks in. End flash. Serap wants an answer to her question. Bedri can’t know you’re his father. Can you promise? For your only daughter. Ilyas sighs. He can’t answer.

Serap leaves the room. Cihan stays behind and says, Ilyas, are you crazy? Your daughter wants one thing from you. Two minutes ago you said you’d give your life for her. She made a request. Do it. You want me to lie to her, Ilyas asks. Whether you lie or not, I don’t know, Cihan answers, do something, anything. You entrusted Serap to me and I’m trying my best. Shouldn’t you try too? Ilyas sighs again. Cihan continues, there something I don’t know… something we don’t know. There’s more to this. It’s a problem. I’ll find out what it is. I love your daughter too much. I’ll find out.

Rustem meets AsDev at the marina. He tells Aslan that Nedret asked him to deliver a video. Nedret calls Devin. Did you see Rustem? Did he give you the drive? It’s about our earlier conversation. The drive contains a video. Watch it and judge for yourselves.

Halimacandy, thanks for your input. You cleared some things up.for me. I have zero knowledge of nasty derogatory vocab so a lot of that dialogue flies over my head. Since I have no interest in ever using it I won't bother to try to learn it either. My daughter in law ( native Spanish speaker) gets on her kids if they use the word stupid. I see it is pretty derogatory in Spanish. I use it about inanimate things, not people in English.
 

I'm in the foothills moved here in 2016 full time. Not quite as many mosquitoes up here. Have yet to make it to Myrtle Beach, but I've been to Hilton Head a few times with my daughter. They treat me since I'm their full time babysitter.

Dondi, I know you'd like to see Hulya punished for all (or at least some) of the terrible things she has done, but I agree that at the moment, Semret looks more likely to have been responsible for Ergun's death. The writers are clearly playing with us. I guess we won't know anything more until Tuesday, since La Familia won't be shown this Monday.

I had forgotten that Leyla's old boyfriend, Deniz, whom Hulya didn't like, died in an automobile accident. Or, at least, what seemed at the time as an accident. Hmmm....

I found it difficult to watch the scene where Aslan sneaks into the room with Semret's computer and starts to download what is apparently a very large file (or a very slow computer). These kinds of scenes always make me nervous. At times, the person is caught as s/he is downloading the files.
When Semret started to look for Aslan, I couldn't watch!

Since Aslan's trio all seemed to find something important in the video taken (I think) from Semret's house, perhaps Aslan's risky behavior paid off.

Yes, I too wondered whether Ilyas's claim that he'd give his life for Serap was a foreshadowing.

And, of course, I also wondered what Arif was doing at the scene of Ergun's "accident." Part of me suspects that this is just the writers playing with us.

It’s Hulya and Sermet neck and neck down the stretch… who will win the prison sentence?

Juanita, I also was nervous while Aslan downloaded the files. Luckily it was the horny and clueless teenager that caught him. Aslan’s trio were watching Ergun’s house, and they spotted Hulya’s guy, Arif.

To clarify, the Turkish version of the computer scene differed from ours. Aslan did not make any reference to masturbation in the Turkish ep. I watched it a couple of times to make sure. Sometimes the Turks shoot multiple or longer versions of a scene. Then they decide what to include in their eps and what could be included in the foreign versions. Sometimes we get an “internet-only" special clip. This type of content is usually sexual in nature. Streaming content, e.g. Netflix, can be a bit more explicit. But I don’t think we will get any explicit same-sex Turkish content anytime soon.

I’m very worried about Serap and Cihan. I like them together, but I don’t see an HEA. “Also, why kebabci?” Cihan had a kebap restaurant, too. It seems to be a common profession for mafia types in Turkish dizis. Like the import or carting business in the American shows *wink, wink*.

K, Bedri’s forehead kiss means that he really cares for Yagmur. It’s not just a sex thing.

I'm guessing Hulya will get off the hook. If Arif is supposed to be a top-flight henchie, it doesn't seem like he would stand around watching the aftermath of the accident. So Sermat is now my No. 1 suspect. Also, why was Sermat concerned about Aslan not being in the room? A non-murderous host would've just assumed his guest went to the bathroom.

No doubt Hulya had Arif do something dirty to Ergun, but maybe not cutting the brakes.

I felt sorry for Devin going on and on about Ergun to buy Aslan more time downloading. She was running out of steam. Awkward.

Speaking of the morning after, now that Eko and Elif have apparently done the deed, I guess there's no chance for him and Yagmur. I wanted there to be.
