PAPAS #21 Part 1

Previously: As Maxiclick’s glittering event opens, Circe is filming as Aidé is introduced amidst enthusiastic applause. She is gracious in her speech after which she introduces Tino.

Tino is all smiles as he thanks everyone. Unfortunately, neither Aidé nor Tino are aware that an unholy alliance has been forged between Circe and Lila. He introduces the video after which everything goes horribly wrong. Instead of the scheduled presentation, the pictures Facundo had taken of Tino and Aidé kissing fill the screen. There are gasps as everyone stares, eyes riveted to the screen. No one is more surprised than Tino and Aidé, who are shown via split screen, shock etched into their faces.

Clara Luz is producing and the screen quickly goes dark.

Aidé and Tino take the stage and try to explain but everyone in the audience stares stonily. Clara Luz and Rudolf run out but the situation isn’t salvageable. We see a few couples exit the already emptied audience. Tino, he of infinite faith, has Aidé, Rudolf and Clara Luz hold hands in support and solidarity.

Stupid Facundo does a dance on the stage of the empty auditorium. Aidé accuses him of taking the pictures. “Moi?” he asks, trying but failing miserably in not looking guilty. He denies, denies, denies as Aidé stares.

At home, eternally upbeat Tino takes Aidé’s face in his hands and kisses her. He reassures her and hugs her telling her to be calm. He calls her hermosa and the mother of his children.

Upstairs, Circe and Lila cackle and rejoice that their machinations worked. Lila makes it clear they worked for a common goal; they are not friends. Circe can’t wait till Lila and her family are out of her house.

Uli goes to work looking at the pictures and the jury is in…

Clara Luz and Pura talk; Pura opens up a bit about her husband.

PAPAS #21 Part 2

Aidé and Tino confront Circe. Aide asks to see Circe’s cellular and the jig is up. As Lila comes down the stairs, the girls start fighting. “Basta” Tino declares, breaking it up. Tino tells Lila how grave the situation is. Aidé adds her two cents. The girls start bickering as they go out up the stairs. Tino comments they fight like sisters. Circe is highly offended. A fitting punishment has been handed down; the girls are going to be roomies!

We see Checo being ganged up on by his cellmates. One starts beating him as the others cheer him on.

Lila throws a hissy fit at her new sleeping arrangement, Circe is similarly upset. Aidé pulls rank, she is the mother. Circe gives lip but Aidé is firm.

Lichita is upset and seems to blame Chano for Checo’s situation.

Circe moondoggies over Checo’s picture. Lila comes in and throws Circe’s clothes on the floor as the two start yelling at each other, ending up in a pillow fight. Aidé and Tino look in with satisfaction.

Aidé and Tino discuss Uli but I couldn’t tell in what context.

Circe and Lila start cooking up another plan to break up Tino and Aidé. Lila says something about phantasm and brings out the book “Rebeca”.

Aidé tries to broach a meal idea to Lila: sushi, hot dogs she asks trying her hardest; we are a family. Lila isn’t interested. Sorry she says.

Facundo pitches himself to Aidé, Fed and Guzmán. He throws Tino your amante in Aidé’s face. Aidé is upset and later complains to Tino.

PAPAS #21 Part 3 of 3

Chano (in his Maxiclick vest) makes a delivery to Litchita whose face mirrors her shock at him being gainfully employed there. Guzmán arrives and Chano makes the point Lichita is his wife. After he leaves, Lichita apologizes to Guzmán. Later, the two walk down the corridor where a revelatory conversation takes place. He tells her how much potential and ambition she had. He actually suggests she leave Chano; she will never have the future she deserves with him. We see a flashback when they were in school many years ago. She is crying when Guzmán comes up and tries to comfort her. I believe he tells her how he feels but whatever he said, she reacts by laughing cruelly and walks away. In the present, Guzmán’s face reflects the hurt and humiliation he likely felt then.

Guzmán confronts Chano in the warehouse and knocks a manual out of his hand. Chano tries to fight back but Guzmán flaunts his authority and taunts him.

Facundo and Tino rumble in the parking garage; let’s not pretend we are friends Tino declares.

Chano and Lichita are walking home and bicker about Guzmán. It seems she is a bit bitter and Chano gulps, staring after her.

Aidé, (in a beautiful emerald green sleeveless V neck dress) is with the children when Lila wants to talk with her father. She is missing her mother… He gives her the name of the church so she can visit her mother’s ashes.

Tino, Clara Luz and Rudolf brainstorm (can anyone read what Rudolf has tattooed on his chest?) It happened so quickly but I believe Clara Luz blurts out she is in love with him!

Circe and Lila plan further but Circe says her idea is creepy.

Chano, Luchita, Chofis and adorable Chuchito arrive home to find it has been ransacked!

Tino gets a text with a caption on the picture of them talking some of it said “…como ser gerente sin morir…” which I couldn’t interpret.

The girls are at church where the kindly priest has led them to the columbarium…and there we end.

I was surprised (but pleasantly so) to see that Circe and Lila were caught so quickly! Dialogue was fast and furious tonight. Kindly add to and/or correct what I got wrong.

Las Hijas #25 1/4

Ofelia continues to insist that Priscilla tell the truth or she will end up in jail. As Ofelia huffs out the door Priscilla grabs the maids face and says Val tried to kill me, right?

Luis insists that Cami can't go to the jail. He tells her she needs a job. Cami is like, I don't want to work! Luis says if you want money to pay for a lawyer to help this guy you need to earn your own money. Cami says that isn't fair and leaves. Luis pulls his hair out in frustration.

Val wonders where mom is to a listless Mar. Val asks are you ok. Mar says, I'm just tired it's been a hard day. I'm going to bed. Val will wait for mana, but hopes she isn't long as she has an early day tomorrow. She starts the modeling campaign tomorrow. Mar looks sad and happy. Val will give it up if Mar is against it. Mar tells her it's fine, she'll be a wonderful model for the line and gives her a teary hug as her modeling dreams are dashed to the ground. A teary Val sighs heavily.

Nick goes to Arturo's room to tell him the project is on for tomorrow. Arturo is going ho. I think Nick would rather he not be there. But since he insists on helping with it Nick earns him to be carefully about what he tells the press

Juan's dad ( name?) confronts Ofelia outside her house. He rightly blames her for Juan's imprisonment. He tells her to keep her daughter away from Juan. Ofelia insists she wants nothing more to do with him. Juan's dad bursts that bubble by telling her Mar just visited Juan at the jail.

Priscilla is sitting in the foyer zoning out when he's Dad asks are you ok? He tells her he spoke with the lawyer. Priscilla is excited, Val will be in jail forever. Dad says, no, their are inconsistencies in your testimony. Priscilla insists she tried to kill me. Dad says you need to tell the truth. Not sure exactly what he said next about the hitting. Priscilla cries

Ofelia enters the house yelling for Mar. Val tells her she is asleep. Ofelia is mad that Mar went to the jail. Val says the visit went poorly. Leave her be. You eon, you managed to separate them. Ofelia still feels she needs to talk to Mar. Val walks away. Ofelia mutters about this generation. I'm your mother ... ( This was a fun scene. Sorry I didn't write it all for you).
Jacinto arrives home to a nice breakfast spread prepared by Susana. This working day and night is taking it's toll on him and he doesn't think he can continue ( does Susana work?). Susana tells him she met an angel, Camila Portillo of millionaire fame, knows Juan and will hire a lawyer to help him. Jacinto weeps for joy Arturo, in a violet suit, lurks outside Priscilla's house. His prey is Elvia. She is nervous and tries to leave. He tells her she needs to tell the truth, and if she doesn't she will end up in jail for lying. Of course Priscilla has threatened to fire Elvia if she tells the truth. Elvis tells Arturo all that transpired.

Ofelia walks up the drive when rocio pops out of the bushes calling, "Gloria". Ofelia is distracted and doesn't respond to her wrong name. Finally she responds. Arturo is out of jail, all is well. A car leaves through the gates and rocio tries to hide. Ofelia wishes Graciela a good morning as she goes through the gates. Graciela has the chauffeur stop as she has caught sight of Rocio.

Yes, it sure looked like Clara Luz told Rudolf that she loved him.

It almost seems like Lila wants to conjure up her dead mother to haunt her dad and make him miss her ??? The priest was a familiar face . He has been in many novelas.That was quite a big, beautiful church.

Hmmm...so did Guz have a crush on Lichita , but she laughed at him and chose Chano? Lichita was a mean girl in high school.

Nick and Arturo accompany Val into the press conference. She balks, but each of them reassures her that it will be fine.

Graciela asks rocio what are you doing here. Nothing, rocio responds. Graciela threatens her and tells her to keep away from the family

Back at the press conference Nick talks about the new line, Arturo talks about the model, Val, which brings up the question of her being his girlfriend which he fields well. Then a reporter asks Val about how she likes being the face of the new line. She says it's different but she is happy and excited. Then the lawsuit comes up and Nick steps in and helps feed her responses. Then Nick drops the bombshell of it being an independent line distinct from the Portillo enterprise.

Luis checks in with Leo. Leo asks about the new line not being part of the business. Didn't catch what the response from Luis was.

Paula meets chema in a coffee shop of sorts. She has something confidential to tell him. She tells him that things are going poorly in the business ever since Cecilia died. She's afraid is the end of the company. Chemo is suitably shocked and will likely publish it as a front page story in his magazine.

Val, Nick and Arturo return to the office. She has never been more nervous in her life, she fulfilled her part and now she is out of there. Nick and Arturo talk about the line

Chemo and Paula talk some more. He is shocked. She says she feels the truth should be told. Of course her beef is Arturo using his girlfriend as the face of the line ( which makes it just as bad if they used her face, right). Chemo says it's low and dirty to do such a thing. Looks like she is saying the model search was a set up, Val, the girlfriend, was a shoe in, and the best part, she is the daughter of the Portillo's housekeeper.

Arturo calls Priscilla. She is delighted to hear from him. He wants her and her dad to come to dinner at the Portillo's. She thinks he is making up with her. We know better.

Cami greets Graciela happily. Graciela notes her good mood. Cami has found her guy interest. But he is in jail and dad won't help. She wants Graciela to help her. Graciela feels he must be in jail for a reason. Cami correctly points out that poor people in jail can't afford a good lawyer. Please. He is a good guy. Graciela continues to refuse, she says your dad would kill me for helping when he said no. Graciela points out she is happy she is thinking about someone else though.

Whew!! I'm glad you heard Clara Luz tell Rudolf she loves him too- she blurted that out so quickly I wasn't sure I heard it correctly! :)

I'm not sure exactly what Circe and Lila have cooked up but it does seem to involve Tino's deceased wife. I'm interested to see exactly what develops.

Looks like Guzman had a major crush on Lichita who again showed what a bully she was in her formative years. He seemed angry at the memory of her treatment of him...I wonder if he is behind the ransacking??

Priscilla asks her dad to go to dinner with her at Arturo's. He sounded repentant. After he apologizes I'll be so happy. Dad doesn't want to go. ( This actor looks pretty young despite the gray hair it appears he has been subjected to for this role). Dad please come. Everything will be back to how it used to be( with Arturo and his harem of models? Is that what you really want Priscilla?)

Arturo Arturo tells dad he invited Priscilla and Francisco to dinner to explain everything to them, and it's today. Arturo hopes to clear things up with Francisco since he and Luis have been lifelong friends. Dad is happy Arturo is doing this

Cami visits Priscilla who is getting ready for her hopefully hot dinner date. She excitedly tells Cami that Arturo called me! Cami's is "happy" for her but she looks doubtful. Cami wants Priscilla to give her her lawyers number to help her guy she likes that has been unjustly imprisoned. Cami asks is he expensive? Yes, very, but give him my name for a discount. When Priscilla learns the chofer is in jail because of the other Garcia daughter she is all in on helping.

Ofelia is cooking. Graciela tells her to set the table for 6, Francisco and Priscilla will be in attendance.

Priscilla and Francisco arrive. Arturo hugs her and welcomes Francisco, who avoids shaking hands. Graciela and Cami come in. Graciela calls to Ofelia to bring drinks for the guests. Luis enters. (Priscilla is all over Arturo and he isn't resisting but holding her hand. If he always toyed with her affection I have a bit more tolerance for her act).

Mar barfs at the smell of her cooking....she wonders what is going on. Nobody told her the facts of life obviously.

Priscilla asks for orange juice from Ofelia. But then says you threatened me, right. Ofelia tells her she was protecting her daughter. Cami tells her to apologize to her friend, which she does . Francisco thinks his daughter also deserves an apology. Arturo says of course, but then pulls out his phone which has a recording of Elvia telling how Val did nothing and Priscilla was fine when she left, but Priscilla threatened to fire her if she told the truth. Ofelia heard it and smiled.

Leo watches the press conference on his tablet and slams it down. Nick comes in Leo complains about not being included, dad likes you best, wah, wah..

Priscilla claims the recording is a lie, but Francisco recognizes the maids voice. Arturo planned it so everyone would know the truth. Priscilla says she was desperate. Francisco manhandles her out of the room and apologizes for her actions. Ofelia returns with the juice and asks you are leaving already? Off they go to the police station to retract her statement. Graciela and Cami are in shock. Arturo tells her Val is totally free. Ofelia takes a sip of the orange juice as Luis et. al. stare at her in shock or awe. Oops she thinks to herself.

Val is sweeping up. Mar is in a snit again. Val is all over social Media. Val insists she is still the same person she always was and goes to their bedroom. Mar looks at the media page and says it should have been me!

Arturo knocks on Val's door. She is less than welcoming.he has good news . He tells her all the charges have been dropped. Now she is happy, jumps in his arms and hugs him, then pulls away, curtsies and thanks him. He wants to take her out to celebrate , wherever she wants to go. She nods yes.

Ofelia brings Luis his tea. She apologizes for the trouble her wonderful daughters caused. Luis agrees Mar is noble, she returned the perfume that broke ( Ofelia is like huh? ). Luis just wants to get back to his paperwork. One more thing, Ofelia puts in a lug for her beautiful Mar as a model, she is much prettier than the models he uses in his business. If there ever is an open please think of her for the job. She leaves and he seems to be either rueful that she spoke of it, or is thinking she has a point. Time will tell (I hope they have a good maternity line).

Val's choice is a city park. Her dad used to bring her there. She smiles at the memory which bedazzles Arturo. Arturo wonders why it was so difficult for him to convince her to work for him, but all it took was a request from Nick. She says I don't know why. Nick asks what did he offer you. Nothing she explains to a baffled Arturo. Nick told me how important it was for you. I accepted the job for you. And we have our first kiss.

Aide and Tino discussed how Uli wasn't ready for counseling. Circe had dropped the bombshell that Tino lied about him going. Aide claimed she knew, but I think that was to take the wind out of Circe's sauls. Tino said Uli is ready now and had his first session. Aide can go to one with Uli if she wants.

Excellent Kat...you covered everything splendidly.

Arturo is really trying; his big reveal was skillfully planned and timed. Good for him. He's also smart enough to remember Val's quick capitulation when Nick managed to get her to accept the job.

I was trying to analyze their kiss. It was sweet but didn't seem sizzling...

We didn't see the aftermath of Juan's beating. I have a foreboding about this (speculation, not spoiler).

Poor Pris might have to acutally (gag) work to get the money for Juan's lawyer. The indignity...

I wonder how long it will take Ofelia to put two and two together about Mar.

Thanks, Kat! Loved your “Nobody told her about the facts of life obviously” as well as “I hope they have a good maternity line.” Poor Mar is so jealous and hasn’t a clue to what awaits her. Nothing more to say on that topic.

I hope that we get to a point where Luis does more than react to his children with that puzzled look. What a waste of such an excellent actor!

Ofelia made me laugh asking Luis to consider Mar for a modeling job some time since she is so beautiful. What chutzpah!

I just realized as I am finishing “Vencer el desamor” that Emannuel Palomares and Juan Covarrubias played brothers in that one, too. Yes, Juan plays a loser there, too. Bizarre.

Time for Valeria to stop complaining and get with the program. What did she think being the face of the clothing line was going to be? Give me a break!

Diana, excellent kiss evaluation. As for Juan . . . I agree with you.

Great recap Kat, thank you!!! You got the first kiss episode. While it might not have been sizzling, it was sweet. Art has grown on me. I am still leaning toward team Nic but I'm starting to see how Val and Art would be good together. She would ground him, and he would soften her.... we'll see.

Glad the Priscilla attack storyline isn't going to drag out, now is she going to bow out? or keep trying? Or stick to the background helping Cami with Juan for a bit while she licks her wounds?

Kat, now that you mention it, the actor playing Prissy's dad doesn't look anywhere near old enough to play that character!!! I hadn't really clocked it, but as soon as you said it, I was like, yes!!!

Susana work? Doubtful. She's too busy wringing her hands and crying. Meanwhile Jacinto works two jobs and orders Ofelia to keep her adult daughter away from his adult son, but Cami will be rescuing him from the round the clock labor soon enough, I guess.

What are the writers doing to Mar? I mean I get she's pregnant, even if she doesn't, but she has huge bags under her eyes!!! Does she need to look so haggard at like 3 weeks pregnant?? LOLOLOLOL

Ofelia drinking the juice was the highlight of the episode, so funny!

Thank you, Kat, great work on the much awaited "first kiss" episode. It was kind of sweet and Arturo did win a lot of brownie points by unmasking Priscilla.
I'm not sure who will be Val's endgame, but I do enjoy the ride.

Camila work? Lol Susana doesn't seem to have a job, either. What's her excuse?

Darcy, I could believe Francisco was her father by being a young father, so he could be 40 and he perhaps looks that. But he is a lifelong friend of Luis who looks at least 60 so that is where I see the disconnect. I loved the juice drinking scene. I also liked Ofelia's kids today diatribe.

From the start , I thought Prissy's father looked very young , but some people are prematurely gray. His face looked young . Whatever ..I have an industrial strength beanie that has served me well for many years of telenovela watching.

I couldn't figure out what Smart Art was doing with the maid. I thought he might be asking her to tell the truth and then he would give her a job. It was pretty clever to assemble everyone together to hear that tape . However, Art has to get that maid out of the house because nasty Pris will torment her .

I agree,that the highlight was overconfident Ofelia drinking the juice. Ha. Susan

Diana, thank you for another first class recap, and for all you do. My computer boot problem is basically resolved, a new operating system installed and running, etc.

Other things are not resolved but I am working on them little by little. I have been recording the episodes of Papas, but am not caught up watching. Soon.

Between the "no episode Thursday" and the weekend, I hope to be mostly caught up by Monday.

I appreciate your sharing the info that Circe told Aide Uli didn't go to counseling. I would not have been happy but Aide handled it well. Kudos to her for not letting unkind Circe think she was spilling tea..

PAPAS #22 Part 1

Lila and Circe are evilly scheming to concoct yet another poisonous plot to separate Tino and Aidé. Lila, (supposedly) missing her mother, got Tino to give her the name of the church where her mother’s ashes lay. She and Circe journey there and meet the benevolent priest who leads them to the columbarium.

The priest wipes a bit of dust from one of the openings. I’m not sure what he said to the girls but they left in quite a hurry.

Tino and Aidé discuss life, love and Maxiclick.

Lichita, Chano and a devastated Chofis survey the carnage of their home. Chofis is visibly shaken. I believe Lichita wonders (in barely a whisper) if Checo is involved. The police arrive and after they leave, Chano tries to grab her arm but she pulls away. Chintolo (sporting black fingernail polish) calls him after which Chano looks quite upset. Chano visits Checo in jail as Chano cries. Later, Chofis gets up from the dinner table. Lichita asks Chano how her son is as she cries and rests her head on her hands. He tries to support her and kisses her hands but she is distraught and rebuffs him.

Flashback of school days with Silvana telling Clara Luz she and Rudolf are novios. Clara Luz is clearly crushed but puts on a supportive face. She and Rudolf talk in the present as Tino arrives. The three strategize.

Tino and Aidé are all over social media as sly snake Fed talks to Aidé who makes it clear she won’t justify herself.

Aidé and Tino visit Uli’s doctor. I believe he tells them it is important that Uli have their support.

At dinner, Emi is charming, Circe and Lila, not so much. Little stars dance in Scarlet’s eyes as she and Emi smile at each other across the table. Aidé tells Tino they are a family and she hugs him. They go into her room and Aidé sees the picture the girls planted. She picks it up as Tino explains it’s Paulina. He immediately realizes Lila must have put it there. We see him next in the girls’ room. Lila stands; arms folded as Tino tries to talk with her. She won’t listen but he tells her he loves her.

Facundo (and his green unbuttoned shirt) is still hanging around. When he huddles with Fed, Tino sees him and gets him away from her.

PAPAS #22 Part 2 of 2

Uli is at school and one of his professors says something about a presentation. Don’t be late he tells him. Uli and Circe have a discussion I couldn’t follow.

Igor is filming Facundo and Tino’s argument. Aidé shows up and chastises them. While she, Fed and Tino are discussing what transpired, Guzmán rushes in and shows her the fight is already on social media! Unhappy with the problems Tino is causing, Aidé thinks its best he be compensated but that he and Maxiclick part ways. He asks for another chance.

Tino said something about Televisa (I think). We next see Tino at a golf club, Rudolf as his caddy! It seems they want to meet and impress someone. They seem to meet their mark and silver tongue Tino tries to work his magic. Rudolf asks Tino if he is crazy but he understood what was said while I didn’t.

Mateo shows up and surprises Circe.

In a depressing turn of events, as she walks outside, Chintolo grabs Lichita, putting his arm around her neck and a gun to her side. He threatens the children then pushes her away and leaves as she hyperventilates.

Fed interrupts Emi and Scarlet’s fun and Scarlet leaves. Fed actually tells Emi she is in love with his father and she wants Emi to be her accomplice in helping her win him!!!

Chintolo goes to visit El Calacas, bribing the guard to let him in. Oh no, we see the empty handcuff chained to the bed as El Calacas is no longer there. The guard is impactada no doubt wondering how he escaped.

Tino’s mark makes an excellent shot. I’d wager Tino has no idea how to play golf as he makes a prolonged pretense of “warming up”, choosing the right club, shaking his knees, twisting, stalling for time. Unfortunately, he accidentally swings the club in the air, knocking his partner out! As we ended, Tino and Rudolf stare helplessly trying to figure out what to do...

My sincere apologies. This is abbreviated simply because I was lost throughout so much of this. I combined some things and guessed on much. I hope I got the important things right. Kindly add to and/or correct what I misinterpreted.

Las hijas, Capitulo 26
Part 1/3

Val moves away before the kiss can deepen. She tells Arturo this can never happen again and reluctantly allows him to take her home.

At the mansion Paula plays Lady of the Manor with Ofelia. There is a call, Senor Saul Jimenez is searching for her. She asks Ofelia to tell the guy she’s not home. Hmm… Ofelia senses something is off. Paula is rattled, wonders how he could find this phone number.

Priscilla tries to strangle the maid (literally). Her father defends the poor woman and then severely scolds Priscila for causing all of this. She is furious.

Camila and Graciela are surprised Priscilla lost her head in such a way. People do crazy stuff for love, ain’t that the case! Camila knows that to well, as soon as she’s alone, she calls a lawyer recommended by Priscilla, she needs his help.

Val arrives home running with Arturo chasing her (this girl!). Once again, she says their kiss can never happen again, she will not be just another woman for him. He doesn’t understand why she’s so stubborn, now he knows how she really feels, there is no denying it. She leaves, but he’s happy because he’s sure she likes him like for real. Inside the house, she is smitten, too.

Mar asks Val about Arturo, she’s been odd since she got back. Val won’t say a word, Mar says she still feels sick. Val wants her to go see a doctor, Mar thinks it’s just a stomach bug. Ofelia is happy the truth has come out, her daughters are good women. The world might treat them badly, but the truth always comes out. Like the fact that she knows about the perfume story (no mention of Mar going to see Juan). Ofelia thinks she’s an amazing mother, she has done everything right since she has such amazing daughters. LOL

Nick tells Art he’s impressed with everything he has done for Val, could this be the real deal for him? Is he in love? Art says he does feel different, but he has no clue if he can call it love. It’s all new for him. Nick teases him: “you’re in luuuve”.

Ofelia didn’t say anything to Mar because she had other plans. She comes to see Juan, who accuses her of being to blame for everything that is going on. Ofelia is not here to fight. She wants to talk about her daughter. She can’t spend all her life waiting for him, this is no place for a girl like her. He needs to forget about Mar, this is not true love anyway. And Mar has better opportunities ahead, someone better will come into her life. Juan should just give her back her freedom.
Juan can’t believe Mar would have another man, but Ofelia doubles down. She is so pretty, what can he offer her from a jail cell? Juan says Mar promised to wait for him. Ofelia continues her lie, Mar has met a better man, someone who is free and cares about her.

Mar wakes up with a startle. She checks her phone calendar, and it finally downs on her. She’s late! Val arrives just then, she tells her she feels like throwing up, she needs Juan so badly. Val hugs her.


 

Las hijas, Capitulo 26
Part 2/3

Camila tells her father she’s going out to meet with a friend from the club. Luis asks Graciela if she knows more about this, but Graciela only thinks it’s better that Camila leaves her room.

Nick talks with his team about finding the best colors for Val. Then Leo tells Nick that the press is asking about the contest being a fraud, just a publicity stunt when in fact they knew they’d pick Val from the very beginning.

Val wants to reimburse Hector for his services. She wants to pay Arturo back. It was him, right? Hector kinda evades a straight answer, asks her to sign some documents instead.

In jail, Juan looks sad, so a guy comes to talk trash about Mar again. He gets upset and starts fighting him. A guard stops them to tell Juan he has a visit.
It’s Camila, she found out about his ordeal, and she will help him get out. She explains how she knows, she found a good lawyer, who will help him, she will take care of all the expenses. Juan can’t accept, he has no money to pay her back. She insists, he’s always helped her. She knows if he’s here, it’s because of Mar. Juan says it’s Ofelia’s fault, but for Camila it’s the same.
When she mentions that Ofelia works at the house, Juan asks if it’s true that Mar is seeing someone else. Camila hesitates, she doesn’t know if it’s true, but he needs to think about him, try to rebuild his life. Juan finally takes her help but promises to pay her back. It’s the only way he can accept.

Paula is reading the news about the competition being just a ploy to advance Val’s career. Graciela is not amused, how could the press know about this? Ofelia arrives with a box that came for Paula. It’s sexy lingerie. And the card has the SJ initials (Saul Jimenez) and a phone number. Paula pretends not to know who it might be, but both Graciela and Ofelia take notice. She makes up a lie about ordering it online and then forgetting about it. Ofelia offers to put it in her room, but Paula would rather do it herself.

Nick is on the phone doing damage control about the scandal of the day. He can’t find out who the source was. Arturo will try to talk with some friends, trying to expand their campaign. Nick is not sure, Val is not ready, this is all new to her.

Val tells Mar she can trust her, there is nothing she can’t tell her. Mar promises she’s only sad because of Juan. Could Val go ask Susana about him? Val thinks she could go ask the neighbors, Susana might not talk to her. As soon as her sister leaves, Mar grabs all the money she can find in her room. How much does a pregnancy test cost in telenovela land?

Paula calls Saul to tell him to leave her alone! Saul tells him Art is a good friend, he will be getting very close to her.
She hangs up just in time for Ofelia to come by with some clothes. She asks if she’s OK, does she want her to clean the stuff she received? Paula asks her not to interfere.

A neighbor tells Val Juan is having a hard ime, his family has no money to pay for a lawyer. Arturo calls to ask to see her, but she says she’s busy. And no, she doesn’t want to talk about their kiss. Art says he won’t give up, but this time they need to talk about work. Val agrees to see him at her house.
Mar walks by just to say she has to stop by the pharmacy to buy some pills for her stomach. And she’d rather go alone.

Part 3/3

Susana and Jacinto meet with Camila outside of jail. Since Juan accepted her help, the lawyer will start his work trying to get him out. Jacinto promises to pay her back, Camila says Juan wants to do it. And she is in no hurry to get reimbursed.
Camila adds that the lawyer told her they should all stay away from that girl that got him into trouble. Mar was her name, right? Susana assures her they will do just that.

Priscilla and Franciso sign some papers with the same lawyer who is taking Juan’s case. It’s about the case against Val, Priscilla asks to see the documents, she only wants to check something (Val’s address?). Franciso asks her never to do anything like this again. Priscilla promises.

Mar takes a pregnancy test. It’s negative.
No, it’s not! Wouldn’t that have been funny and surprising? It’s totally positive. Baby Juanito on the way.
She goes straight to see Juan, but he won’t see her. She asks him just to give her a moment to talk. She smiles, starts talking, but he stops her! Leave! I don’t want to talk to you! And off he goes. Mar insists they need to talk, the guard has to stop her physically.

Camila is searching through her jewelry; she obviously needs money to pay the lawyer.

Val gets home but Mar is not around. There is a knock at the door, it’s Priscilla, as I suspected. She has come to talk about what has happened. She knows she behaved badly. Val allows her inside, Priscila says they need to find a way to get along if she continues dating Arturo. Their families are very close…
Then she flips her crazy button and starts screaming at Val to stay away from Arturo.

Ofelia is cleaning the coffee table, while Graciela talks about all the medical care that Gloria has been having. They both hope Gloria will be OK. Graciela thinks Ofelia should help them take care of her. Of course, she has known her for so long.
Graciela thought they didn’t know one another so well, she thought Ofelia knew Gloria’s cousin.
Ofelia says she talked with Cecilia, who showed her how to take care of her family. And yes, she does want Gloria to get better. Graciela can’t wait for that to happen, she also wants to find out how Gloria fell down those stairs.

Adriana Noel, another stellar outing. I loved the recap.

Val's life is ascending as Mar's goes to hell. I felt so badly when she stood at the jail a smile lighting her face as she was ready to tell Juan her news. I don't think I will forgive Ofelia for her visiting him and telling him Mar is interested in someone else. That was just twisting the knife. His only crime was loving her daughter. Juan's coldness and telling Mar to leave was hard to watch. He should have had faith in Mar but it crumbled a bit too quickly.

I'm certain Arturo loves the idea of Val but does he truly love her? He's certainly besotted and enchanted.

I wondered if Cami's ostentatious array of jewelry and watches was hers alone or her mother's. There would be no justification for a young woman to have such a collection. In either event, her parents spoiled her rotten...

Pris needs to be in a psychiatric hospital. Quickly.

Paula and Saul, Ofelia and Gloria. The past is coming to haunt them.

Thanks, Adriana. Loved the “is she pregnant or not” fake out! It was a good laugh. Would it not have been a unique plot twist if (Mar’s) the “symptoms” turned into some mundane diagnosis . . .for once? Oh, well.

Everyone knows that Priscilla is crazy so why would Valeria would let her in her house is beyond me. Another DUH! moment. I had to laugh when Priscilla apologized to the maid but had to knock a tray on the floor on her way out of the kitchen so she would have to clean it up. Here is hoping for a very unhappy ending for her.

I was impressed Camila was willing to sell some jewelry to pay for Juan’s lawyer even though a JOB was out of the question. She didn’t ask for him or his family to pay her back. They volunteered. There might be hope for her?

All in all, a pretty good episode.

Ofelia is beyond cruel in this episode. I agree with Diana, it's unforgivable. I have HAD IT with these interfering parents, but to first put the innocent man in jail and then go to the jail to lie to him about Mar being involved with someone else??? How dare she? Literally, how does she find the nerve and the gall to do it? Mar will probably forgive her because she's Mar, but she shouldn't. Man, I'd love to see Mar grow a backbone and borrow some of Val's toughness.

I was impressed and surprised that Cami didn't lie to Juan in the jail herself and admitted she didn't know whether or not Mar was seeing someone else. I suppose she could be redeemable but I'm not holding my breathe. She's so unlikeable and snobby, and horrible. I think back to how she attacked Mar unprovoked and vicious...

I'm right there with you on Val letting Prissy in her house, Jarifa! Though to be fair, she'd already pushed herself most of the way in. Val more gave up on pushing her out than actually letting her in. Still, she should have insisted they talk outside. But Art is on his way to the house so hopefully they won't be alone for long.

Thanks, Diana, for both recaps. I got busy yesterday and completely forgot to read Monday’s. I’m getting back to being confused! Mainly because I don’t know the bad guys conected to Checo.

Aidé thinks Tino should go when It’s Facundo causing the problem. That makes no sense.

In the church with the ashes, they were really old. The girls decided Lila’s mother died too recently to have her ashes there.

I did like the way Aidé pretended to know about the skipped sessions. That was smart on her part.

Fed is definetly crazy if she thinks scaring poor Emi is going to get him to help her be one his stepmother. But maybe she’ll scare him into doing it!

Thanks, Kat and Adriana, two excellent recaps. Two great shows too! I can’t believe Priscila would turn around and attack Val after everyone finding out what she did. A real nut case. So glad to see the comments on her dad. I’ve been wondering why they took a young guy and have him some gray hair and think he’ll pass as an older guy. Surely there are plenty of older actors available.

Ofelia was awful going to the jail and implying Mar has someone new. Her pregnant daughter will be without the father of her baby between Ofelia and Camila.

What Paula did was so low and her poor husband is loving that his brothers are in a mess. But how great for Paula to open her package in front of Graciela and Ofelia. Although I’m not too pleased with Graciela. First she asumes Val was guilty and now she seems to feel Ofelia was responsable for Gloria’s fall. Liz

Liz, I believe we know of only 2 of the bad crew Checo fell in with. Some time ago, Tino was threatened by Calacas and agreed to participate in a robbery. However Tino turned the tables and Calacas was out for blood. He is the mastermind of the attempt to kidnap Emi to get back at Tino. And now, to our chagrin, he's managed to escape. The other member of the crew that know is Chintolo, the worm that threatened Lichita last night who was also involved in the robbery...

Adriana, loved your recap and asides. I still can't believe Juan is being held in jail, though I think the fight he was involved in is what is keeping him there. Hopefully the new lawyer will get him out. I have hopes for Cami. I thought initially all those watches were her dad's. The giant teddy bear in the corner I guess means it is her room, but I haven't ruled out it being Cecilia and Luis' dressing room.

Well, BSC Priss isn't having it. She pushes herself in to Val's house and then starts again with pushing tiny Val. Tall bully .I noticed her looking around the little house with disgust .

I knew that Priss would take her wrath out on the poor , defenseless maid . Why didnt her dad know that ? When I look at the actor playing the father , he reminds me of a high school student playing a dad in the school play.

What young girl would have all those huge , expensive watches ?? Kids today dont even wear watches . They check the time on their cellphones , which they always have in their hands ! Were those Luis and\or Cecelia's watches ?

The best part was Ofelia bringing Paula the box and Paula joyfully opening up her big surprise . Well, all were surprised ! I am sure we can count on Saul to torment Paula.

Hmmm... So back in school , Clara Luz was crushing on Rudolfo, but he and Silvana were a couple . That answers the question of why she asked him to give her a baby later in life . It sure seems like Clara Luz and Rodolfo are going to be a couple at the end ...onc R.wakes up.

If Lila's mother's ashes are not at that church , where are they ? Is she really dead ? Aide seemed upset when she saw Tino's wife's photo planted there by Lila . What is Lila up to ? Perhaps the writers are setting up Lila and Circe bonding as they scheme to break up Tino and Aide.

Did creepy Chintolo ransack Lichita's house?

Of course, we now have The Big Bad out and ready to make troub!e .

PAPAS #23 Part 1

Previously: After Chintolo accosts and threatens Lichita, he goes to visit (injured but not completely comatose) prisoner El Calacas. To our utmost dismay, the bed is empty, handcuffs hanging on the railing. Chintolo smirks as the guard swallows hard, wondering how on earth El Calacas could have possibly escaped.

After inadvertently knocking his golfing partner out cold with his club, Tino and Rudolf stare helplessly and hopelessly…As they fret, Tino’s “victim” comes to, a big red mark on his face. Then, he leans back and collapses.

Fed is still threatening poor Emi and demanding he tell his father what she wants so he will fall under her spell. Circe comes back and Fed immediately becomes all sweetness and light (as much as she is capable of which is not much I point out sourly). Emi has a slip of the tongue after Fed leaves; Circe notices and asks him what’s wrong but he deflects.

Aidé and Clara Luz have a conversation during which Aidé tells her that due to the way she treated her in high school, she can’t trust her. We are transported (yet again) to that fateful party at school. Clara Luz and Silvana give Aidé a liquor infused drink. First a cup, then several. They toast and Aidé continues to drink, finally taking the pitcher and draining it. We then see her collapse on the floor. After, Clara Luz has an unexpected reaction, she seems to say that she is the one that turned out to be the loser in life. Aidé leaves without exuding much pity (I can’t blame her).

Bertha shows Emi and Lila a picture of him as a baby and speaks kindly of their mother.

Circe mewls to Fed about Checo.

Chofis takes Chuchito as Lichita wants to berate…err, talk to Chano. She is angry with him because of Checo.

Tino’s “victim” is walking and talking and none too happy with Tino as they talk in the hospital. Tino natters on as the man stares, boring holes through him; Rudolf has no better luck. Then, the doctor comes up to him and wants to discuss some results with him.

Gina talks with Uli, she seems to like him. He introduces Tino to her saying he is his mother’s boyfriend and then (I think) he says his father. Aidé joins them.

PAPAS #23 Part 2

Aidé tells Lila that she respects Paulina, trying to put the child at ease. She asks Lila if she was the one who put Paulina’s picture in her room. Lila denies it.

Pura and Clara Luz talk as Pipe comes up to her dinosaur in hand. Later, Pura and Clara Luz talk as Rudolf, Guzmán and Pipe play a sort of Jenga. Pipe is building quite the tower and Guzmán tells him he will make a fine engineer. Guzmán tells Pipe he has a secret. Pipe doesn’t look enamored with Guzmán.

Lila thanks Aidé for their talk as they join the rest of the family.

(Please, can someone provide the name of Tino’s “victim” Aidé said it during a scene but I didn’t quite hear it. Also, is he supposed to be a Televisa exec or someone else?) Anyhow, I think the guy tells Tino that they found a medical issue because he ended up at the hospital so he sort of thanks him. He says he will give him a few minutes the next day for a presentation. Facundo listens in the background as Tino and Aidé have a bit of an argument.

We next see Facundo, tools in hand, under Aidé’s car. Uh oh…

Everyone is at the breakfast table as Tino starts a supportive chant.

Guzmán is at the reception desk. Seeing Lichita is clearly upset, he asks her if she is having problems with Chano. Talk about stating the obvious.

Circe teases Uli about Gina. Rather than Aidé driving, it is Uli who gets in the car. As he takes off and we see a trail of brake fluid on the parking lot floor.

We see Uli driving and the car is rapidly speeding down the street. He tries to apply the brake but it doesn’t work and goes down to the floor!! He loses control and crashes into a tree. The air bag deploys as a couple run toward him.

Lila and Circe meet. Lila seems to say the ghost of her mother will “haunt” the house… Mateo, on crutches, joins them.

The good Samaritan opens the door and helps Uli out of the car…

PAPAS #23 Part 3 of 3

The Maxiclick staff is in place for the upcoming meeting when Uli calls Tino and tells him he was in an accident. Tino immediately asks if Circe is with him. No, she took a taxi. Uli tells his father he needs him. Tino leaves without saying a word to Aidé!

Gina comes up to the table complaining Uli isn’t there. It dawns on Circe something is wrong. Tino arrives at the scene of the accident and tells Uli the important thing is he is all right as a single tear falls down Uli’s cheek. Gracias Tino he says hugging him. Circe calls again and Tino takes the phone.

The executive arrives for the meeting and Fed leads him out for coffee. They panic as Tino isn’t there. Facundo stands up saying HE will do the presentation as everyone eye rolls. Rudolf and Clara Luz laugh and Aidé tells Facundo to sit down.

Tino takes Uli to school. Fed calls and asks where he is, they are waiting for him to do the presentation!

I’m confused as I don’t know what happened next; was there a presentation? When Tino returns, Aidé has gathered the employees together and is giving a speech.

During the gathering, Clara Luz sees Pura called Guzmán but he refused the call. Rudolf calls her back immediately with Guzmán’s phone. Poor Pipe answers thinking it’s Guzmán and in tears, the distraught child says Pura is dead!!

Aidé and Tino are having a sweet conversation; he makes her laugh and they kiss. Aidé looks down and picks up an unfamiliar blanket. She inhales the fragrance but doesn’t recognize it. Tino walks over and immediately recognizes the scent. It’s Paulina’s he replies.

Chano and Lichita talk. Her face is mirrored in pain as she tells him she wants a divorce.

Tino reiterates to Aidé that the only thing that matters is that Uli is all right.

I may have inadvertently changed the order of the last few scenes…

No El Calacas tonight…Facundo sabotaging the brakes prove he’s more than just a fool; he is a dangerous murderer in waiting. Had I been Aidé, I would have been very upset Tino didn’t tell me Uli was in an accident when he left the meeting.

Kindly add and/or correct what I got wrong.

Aide, Rudolph and Clara Luz gave the presentation, looks like the guy has a record company or something. So I guess this new department is like Spotify or Amazon music.

When Guzman spoke with Lichita, he advised her that divorce is a good thing for some couples. When Guzman was playing with Pipe he told him when he was in charge of him he'd go to a boarding school far away I think. He may have just said it to himself though, I forgot already .

Part 1/3

Priscilla insults Val several times, says Arturo only loves her. Val wants to push her out, but Pris is screaming and is becoming truly unhinged. She grabs Val by the face, and says she is not pretty enough to be the image of a brand. She finally hits her in the head with a statue. Vall falls to the ground, unconscious for a moment. Pris takes advantage to tie her hands at the back and then starts pouring gasoline (?) all over the floor and furniture. Val regains consciousness just as Arturo arrives. He knocks at the door and the windows and Val calls for his help. He bursts inside, sees Val on the floor and then confronts Priscilla, who once again says he will never be Val’s. Arturo makes it clear that he no longer cares about her, he loves Val now. Pris rans away. Arturo follows her briefly, but then goes back to Val and hugs her, apologizing for putting her in danger.
He tends to her nasty head wound. Val would like to clean the nasty smell left by the gasoline. But Arturo would rather take her out of the house, he will ask someone else to clean.

Susana meets with Mar outside of jail. She asks her to stay away, the lawyer they found told them it’s for the better. And when Juan’s out, she needs to keep her distance. He finally understands that he can have a life far away from her. Mar tries several times to say that she and Juan need to be together because… but Susana’s rants stop her. She eventually leaves crying, telling herself that she won’t be able to deal with this on her own. She apologizes to her baby, she really wished to give him a family.

Camila gets money for one of the watches at her house and calls the lawyer that will help Juan.

Nick is still doing damage control with the press writing about the relationship between Val and Arturo. They found out they were together in the car that Art crashed and Art had said they were involved at the time. Nick thinks that if they work on the campaign and have a great event to present their brand the press will forget about this, but his colleague tells him that won’t be enough. Val no longer has the good image she had before. And the fact they are no longer part of the Portilla corporation is not helping, either.
Leo comes to talk to Nick, taunting him about the chaos happening with his product. He should have come and ask for his help. Nick says Leo never did anything risky, all he does all day is stand around in his office and play it safe.
Luis hears the quarrel and comes to stop them from fighting in the office. What will happen the day he’s no longer around, will they forget they are brothers? Learn to work together, damn it! Or I will fire you both. Nick promises to find a solution fast.

 

Las hijas, Capitulo 27
Part 2/3

Outside the house Val says Priscilla is still in love with Arturo, that’s why she is doing all these crazy things. She asks if he really meant what he told Priscilla about being in love with her now. Art comes closer, but Ofelia interrupts them. She sees that Val is not OK, and thinks Art did something to her, but Val explains it was all Pris.
Ofelia is shocked, wants to confront her. But Val stops her mom, that woman is crazy. Arturo offers to have someone clean up the mess Pris created, but Ofelia insists she will clean herself.
Inside the house, the smell is horrible. It would be so easy to finish with all of this, Ofelia tells herself. All the misery, all the years of pain, all this damned poverty. She grabs a match box and lights a match, dropping it on the table. A fire starts.

Val wants to go to help her mom and asks Arturo to leave. He says he supports her in case she wants to go to the police and accuse Priscilla.
They see smoke coming out of the house and then Ofelia comes outside coughing. There are flames everywhere inside, Val is crying her eyes out over her home burning. Amparo and Mar arrive to witness everything.

Luis is not feeling well, he tells his secretary to call his doctor.

Priscilla gets home in a full-blown crisis. Her father tries to get her to settle down, she screams that she wants to die.

It’s nighttime and the Garcia house is still standing, but it’s black with smoke. Val is crying, Mar asks what happened and Ofelia says all of a sudden there was smoke everywhere.
We get another “we lost our house, we lost everything, we lost all that dad has worked for all his life” speech. Amparo offers the women a shelter for the night, but her house is very small. Arturo offers his home again, Ofelia accepts, but Val won’t. Haven’t we already seen this before like two weeks ago? It wasn’t that much fun the first time around.
Art insists this was all his fault, Val can at least say yes for tonight. Val looks at Mar’s distress and sadness and accepts.

Leo tells Paula about the new scandal involving the company. She pretends to be surprised, but she’s focused on her phone, thinking about Saul. Leo grabs the phone, she gets mad and takes it back. Leo doesn’t get her attitude.

Nick arrives home and tells Graciela work has been hard today. He asks about his brother, his aunt tries to comfort him. They speak about the press talking about them lying about the campaign. He has worked so hard for everything, while Arturo barely does anything, and Leo is completely against him. And the worst thing is this is affecting his father, also. Mom used to keep him balanced, now he has nobody to comfort him. Graciela thinks the same, Luis has always had Cecilia to support him. She promises to do everything in her power to be there for all of them.

Camila arrives and Nick asks what she has been up to all day. She tells him she is helping a friend get out of jail. What? You don’t know him, but he’s a great guy. Nick asks her to be careful, not get into any trouble. She promises and runs to her room. Nick asks Graciela if she has more information. She doesn’t, but she’s happy Camila has found a new motivation.

Part 3/3

The doctor tells Luis he has to control his stress, let go of some of his activities. Luis is worried about his kids, they are always getting into trouble. The doctor insists he has to be careful, his heart is not going to stand another crisis. Yes, he can give him some medicine, but he still has to make some effort to have a more peaceful life.

Arturo takes the Garcias home. Ofelia and Mar are going toward the back entry, but Art says they are his guests tonight, they will stay in the main house. Val doesn’t like it, they will only accept the servants’ quarters.
As the Garcias leave Luis arrives and Arturo explains there was a fire at their house, one that Priscilla caused, so he asked the women to spend the night. Luis no longer has the strength to ask questions, his son never listens. Life will give him all the necessary lessons in due time. Good night, son.

Susana and Jacinto are happy they found a lawyer, they feel confident Juan will be out soon. They see the Garcia home burned, a neighbor explains what happened. “You reap what you sow” Susana actually says, it would have been better had they been burned alive. Seriously!!

Francisco is giving Priscilla some medicine, they will see the doctor next week. He suggests they leave the city, start over someplace else, this will help her forget Arturo. Priscila gets crazy eyes, asks her dad for something to eat. She only wants to be alone, she throws away the pills as soon as he leaves.

Ofelia scolds Val for refusing the main house. Art caused all of this, she could gave died. Val thinks her mom is making it all about herself, Mar is tired of their fighting, especially after the awful moment they went through.
As she leaves, Val asks Ofelia how everything burned down. Ofelia plays the victim, there was a candle in the house. Val is still doubting.

Mar goes outside for some air and to cry alone. Luis sees her and asks what is going on. She says watching the sky at night comforts her. Luis says watching the sky helps him see how small he truly is. The big Luis Portilla, she asks? Nothing matters when life hits you, he answers.
Mar explains everything that Priscila tried to do to her sister. He feels guilty, but Mar says he’s a good guy. He remembers the perfume and thanks her.

The next day Arturo goes to see Francisco. He is worried about Priscilla, she should see someone. He tells him about the attack on Valeria, Francisco has to take care of his daughter or it will be to late.

Priscilla has come to the mansion to see Arturo. She pushes past the maid.

Ofelia is thinking about ways to find clothes for her daughters. Val doesn’t want to stay here; she will find a new place to stay. She leaves in a huff.
Mar refuses to drink coffee, so Ofelia offers her food. Mar runs to the bathroom, coughing.
Later in the room, she needs to sit on the bed because she still feels bad. Ofelia wants to take her to see a doctor. There is no need, Mar explains, she is like this because she is pregnant.

Thanks Adriana. One step forward, another 2 back on the Ofelia like scale. It is all about her. I wonder if the liquid was rubbing alcohol. Gasoline isn't stored in plastic jugs and it was a clear liquid. I missed Ofelia saying a candle caused the fire. Now I think again, perhaps the liquid was lamp oil. I imagine power outages or non payment of electricity means they have oil lamps. I'm not surprised the house is still standing as it appears to be made of concrete or stucco. All the neighbors coming and it sure took a while to start a bucket brigade or garden hoses used against the flames.

Diana, I forgot to make some observations on the car crash. First, Uli was really good at defensive driving as he avoided hitting other vehicles. The couple rushing to the scene, moving an injured victim from the car was reckless. Police and ambulance should have been called. Hopefully the sabotaged brakes will be discovered. I think Facundo tampered with them because he thought Tino was being given the car for his personal use. Tino arrives and still no let's get checked out by a Dr. !!! Not any police, I guess Tino arranged for the car to be towed but he was totally at fault not keeping Side in the loop. Mama bear being all forgiving is just weird .

Thanks Adriana, another first-rate recap, which was more fun than the episode itself!

I can't get behind this whole bad publicity storyline thing - I've been told too many times that there is no such thing as bad publicity, I don't buy it! How is this a real problem? And Luis is way too savvy a businessman to buy that it's a problem. Release to the press the details of Prissy framing Val for abuse and make her the underdog again and problem solved.

I like Nic but he doesn't know how to be a team member. He agreed to be a team with Art and a team succeeds or fails together - there is no I or me. His crying to auntie about how he works so hard, and Art doesn't care was childish.

I feel for Luis but I also think they are overplaying the 'My kids are out of control and full of problems' angle. Prissy is proving to be a problem, but Nic doesn't have any real problems; Leo doesn't have a problem divorce won't fix; and Cami is just young and dumb - she isn't in trouble yet.

Susana..... yuck!

I was appalled at Ofelia burning her own house down and then I realized she's already put one innocent man in jail for weeks, she's surely going to try to get Prissy arrested for burning down that house!!! If a candle had started it, it would be arson and Prisy's doing.... she's not really innocent as is, but she's not really guilty either. I wonder if she'll be arrested. I'd like to see her behind bars, I don't care if she is crazy!

Adriana, you captured all the angst and agony of the episode spectacuarly.

"Susana actually says, it would have been better had they been burned alive". Are we sure she isn't Pris' mother? What a horrid, vindictive, hateful woman she is. Even Jacinto seemed to be repulsed.

I was wondering how on earth Ofelia was going to explain the fire that magically started, but a candle was somewhat feasible. Ofelia never lets the chance to turn an opportunity into her advantage does she? I am not looking forward to her haranguing of poor Mar.

Luis feels a connection with Mar, perhaps wishful thinking for the daughter he would like to have had...

Guess who's coming to stay...again? I have a sneaking suspicion this visit will similarly not go well...

Kat, great point in that Uli employed some skillful driving to avoid hitting people and/or other cars.

Yes, Tino should have had Uli checked out immediately. Not perfect parenting.

I had the impression Facundo thought Aide would be driving the car? But him sabotaging the car which could have had fatal results makes more sense if he thought Tino would be driving.

I was also incredulous that Tino didn't tell Aide about Uli's crash as soon as he got the call. As you noted "...Mama bear being all forgiving is just weird". I totally agree.

Ofelia can be so funny in her quest for “the good life” except when she goes off the rails as in filing charges against Juan and not relenting; and burning down her own house aka her bad memories. She is quite an interesting character since you never know when she will cross the line. Anyway, she has really cemented her residence/position now at the
Portilla’s.

Well, at least now we know what ails Luis from his doctor visit and conversation with Mar. He should make all the kids pay rent at the manse or move out. They can earn a check at the family company or some place else. That might solve his problem and help his heart.

Darcy I agreed with all your comments! So what if there was a model contest and his girlfriend won out? As you said throw Priscilla to the wolves. Also, the actual line is taking forever to get to the model wearing stage the public will forget about the bad press by the time it hits the market. I can't wait for Paula's downfall. I hope she is a bigamist and Saul is her husband....

Kat, I'm pretty sure they didn't say "gasoline" when they mentioned the liquid that Priscilla poured all over the house, but it had the same effect, so I didn't go back to search for it, thank you for clarifying it for me. It could have been anything actually, it's a wonder Ofelia didn't think about burning her house down before, she needed CrazyPrissy to put the idea in her head.

ITA that with Ofelia it's one step forward, two steps back.
Like Jarifa, I love her airs of grandeur. Sipping on that orange juice, saying what an amazing mother she is while both her daughters watched in disbelief... I'm glad the writers are giving us a few of these funnier scenes, because if not Ofelia would be just as bad as Susana. Who is simply the WORST!

Darcy, the latest scandal is not about Val being in jail because of Pris, but because the press found out (via Paula) that Val is a nepo hire - because she is dating Arturo and is the housekeeper's daughter. Sure, we know the contest was real, but the optics do look bad and gossip media does care about this sort of thing. I do buy the fact that this is causing some sort of crisis in their world, espacially since it is related to a family who is already in the press a lot and not always for the best of reasons.

I think Luis is complaining about losing control over his kids because he never had to parent alone. Cecilia was always the caregiver, she kept the kids in check (more or less, as we've seen Camila have a fit while she was still alive, Arturo was a philandering dog and Leo was already married to Paula).
I think Cecilia was shielding her husband from most of the kids shenanigans, he was taking care of business so he probably only knew the watered down version of what they were doing. Or, when he knew the whole truth, Cecilia was there to walk him through it.
Like Nick said, Luis never had to deal with any of this stuff, he's like a new father, but having to handle grown-ups acting like kids.

I actually like Cantu in this role, even if we've seen him do a lot more in the past. For me it's an welcomed change to see him play the good guy, for the past decade or so he's only payed pshyco villains, I enjoy watching him play an overwhelmed pater familias who is not trying to murder people, sell kids or plot world domination.

I know that the latest scandal was because of the 'fake' contest and not the assault, I just don't think it matters is you flip the script. If you make Val the underdog everyday girl (hey even housekeeper's daughter) who's being attacked and framed by the spoiled rich girl who's mad at her for winning the competion and picking on her because she isn't one of 'us', then it becomes us vs them. Everyone vs. the 1% (poor little rich girls, models, etc) and the public will forgive Val. Plus, one well timed suggestion that not only was the story about her attacking with Pris a lie but the accusation about the rigged contest is another meanspirited lie meant to keep her down?? Maybe I'm wrong, but I think public sentiment could be turned to Val pretty easily because she actually is what the people want to see. The real deal, real girl, who works out and wears the clothes and can authentically rep the brand.

Yeah, I guess painting Val as the real victim (which she actually is), could work. Val would have to play the part, though, and she is not very comfortable in front of the camera for now.
Honestly, I can't wait to see her start taking some photos, I bet she will have to be talked into it since it's not her actual job.
I wonder if Arturo will be able to get her to do what she needs to do in front of the camera. Or will Nick, who seems to be able to reason with her on a different level, be the one to coach her?
From the way Francisco was mentioning seeing that doctor, it felt like it was a pshychiatrist. Could Pris have an actual illness that explains her crazy?

I agree with all the comments . I love to read the pragmatic , intelligent advice that the commenters offer these wacky characters . I would like you all to be my life coaches.

I suppose that The liquid that Prissy so energetically splashed around the tiny home was kerosene . I was completely shocked that Ofelia decided that this was her opportunity to burn down the home that she dispised andcVal loved so much . yikes. Pretty drastic ...but...that's our frantic , impulsive Ofelia.

I thought that Art playing that recording of the maid telling the truth in front of Prissy, her dad, and his family at the same time was going to make Miss Priss simmer down and her dad get her some help, but...no. I was thinking of adjectives to describe Priss...delusional, aggressive, obsessed ..lets just say BSC. Will anyone report her last crazy act to the police ? Probably not . Remember when four burly cops picked up Val when Priss accused her of bashing her in the head with a vase ? That was a speedy quick arrest .

Art seems so young and immature . Nothing seems to bother him much.

So, now O and her girls are in the servants 'quarters ...no clothes , no possessions. O 's salary is supposed to pay back the money Art spent to buy the house which is now a pile of ashes . Mar is pregnant. Now what? Luis is the only one who seems at all sympathetic to them, and he seems to truly like Mar, but he is having health issues . Come on , Val. Put on those clothes and smile. As Susan says, all our theories are fun to mull over. Facebook is getting on my nerves, think I will give it up for Lent this year, but I do like the reaction emojis one can give to comments and posts. You all would be getting hearts or thumbs up or laughs with your comments.

Adriana, this is my first exposure to Cantu, but I could see him in a bad guy role. I don't like narc telenovelas so this, with it's hints of humor that O gives us is just my style.
