Previously: Without resources or options, Aidé and the children reluctantly move into Facundo’s. His only demand was that they act the part of the perfect family. The minute they set foot in the house, he is all over social media gleefully proclaiming the family has reunited, much to Aidé and Circe’s disdain.
Emi finally confides that Fed is abusing him. Sadly, it is Paulina whom he tells and her reprehensible response is to tell him to stop lying.
As Oliver put no thought into his upcoming “special” night with Chofis, she quickly takes a powder. Her absence at home was not unnoticed by Checo.
As Tino and Aidé join the crowd gathering for Uli’s play, Dámaso and Fed arrive.
As tonight begins, we see a flashback to years ago. Silvana is in the clinic having an argument with one of the doctors (?) It sounded accusatory but I can’t interpret it.
We see one hit wonder Rudolf on a bus, getting ready to find Pipe! He calls Clara Luz but ends up chastising her about her romance with Felipe. Felipe returns to the table and he and Clara Luz both decide to head out to Morelia as well!
The play is far from the only drama taking place. Aidé grabs Dámaso’s arm and Fed has her tentacle wrapped around Tino. Polite chat ensues as Tino is getting handsy with Fed, playing along all too well (much to my dismay). Uli comes up and Aidé tells him she loves him. Dámaso kisses Aidé’s hand (taking quick advantage of the situation). Fed and Aidé cattily chat in the ladies’ room and Aidé insults her before she leaves. Fed texts someone.
Chuchito and his parents are at the doctor’s. Chano blames Lichita for whatever the doctor says needs to be worked on. But at home, I believe we later learn Chuchito is OK. Chofis gets her phone back, her parents trust her.
Checo and Chofis talk in the kitchen (she must have snuck in). He shows her the pictures he took of the unfamiliar sneakers and she admits she was with Oliver. The plan was to be together but…Checo stresses the importance of protection. She hugs her brother.
Jason and Paulina talk about custody. She feigns concern for Emi…
Diana
The seating arrangement is Dámaso, Aidé, Tino, Fed and then Circe. Tino stares at Aidé who quickly grabs Dámaso’s hand. Tino follows suit with Fed. Circe texts both her parents. Dámaso has Aidé change seats with him as he throws a triumphant look in Tino’s direction. So high school but fun! 😊
Uli is in charge of the costumes. All of a sudden he has a flashback of the monster in costume and overcome with terror, runs onto the stage, disrupting the production. Aidé and Tino immediately get up. The professor assures them all is well and is kind to Uli. Tino and Aidé show their support as Tino puts his hand comfortingly on Uli’s face and Uli cries on his shoulder. “Gracias ma and pa” he says.
The production continues as Dámaso and Fed show up backstage. Dámaso offers his help but Tino says he will get professional help. Dámaso keeps talking until Aide quiets him. Tino hugs Uli and Circe as Aide takes them away Dámaso following like the third wheel he is.
Scarlet interrupts Facundo’s “live streaming” bringing Checo in. Facundo doesn’t seem pleased but Circe yells at him that he isn’t her father. Aidé comes in and isn’t thrilled to see Checo. Checo leaves followed by a yelling Circe.
Rudolf is at his destination. The gate is chained and he rings the bell. A brother/monk garbed in brown answers the call and Rudolf tells him he is looking for Pipe. Is he there? He walks off and Rudolph yells “hermano” but he doesn’t return. Rudolf tries unsuccessfully to scale the gate. Felipe and Clara Luz appear.
Circe asks Aidé how Uli is. Rat Facundo records their conversation as Circe talks about Checo, taking her mother’s hands in hers. Their emotional heart to heart talk ends with both in tears. Aidé thanks her for confiding in her. I think the outcome is she will allow her to see Checo on a limited basis (?)
Clara Luz goes to the gate and tries to weave a yarn that the monk doesn’t believe and threatens to call the police.
Tino meets with Paulina and Jason. Fed is there and I later realize she is there to represent Tino. During the discussion, Tino gets hot under the collar but Fed tries to calm him down. Fed goes after Paulina who defends herself. Later, Tino and Fed talk with Paulina spying on them in the background.
Felipe, Rudolf and Clara Luz reconvene. Felipe offers his hand to the other two – they put their hands on each other’s, vowing to work together “for Pipe”. OMG, we see the bell being rung by a monk and two “sisters” in full religious garb, only their eyes showing. Felipe removes his hood and manages to talk the monk into opening the chained gate. The “sisters” are greeted by other monks who turn, startled by Rudolph’s deep voice. But then, Clara Luz goes into a chapel and there kneeling is Pipe! The smart tyke recognizes them right away! Wrongly thinking he's been abandoned; he tells them he doesn’t care for them and screams for help. We later see the three talking with the head of the order. He won’t call the police and allows them to leave. Then, he texts Guzmán. The three are locked out, Clara Luz in tears. “Adios” Rudolf tells her, touching her hair with his hand, regret shining from both their eyes.
Lila is talking about Paulina in glowing terms. Emi says his mother doesn’t support him and then starts having pain in his chest. Lila gets up with Emi in tears and callously leaves him alone.
Diana
Aidé and Circe discover Facundo’s treachery just as Uli arrives to say the video of their private discussion is going viral.
Felipe tries to comfort Clara Luz. He then kneels and asks her THE question. She nods yes. They kiss and first sit on the bed and then lay down…
Fed and Tino get cozy outside his house; his kisses seem much more willing than the previous ones. He thanks her for her patience. Simultaneously, Aidé and Dámaso are sharing kisses in a restaurant. She seems to ask him if he is sure he wants to be with her with everything going on. “Yes” he answers kissing her hand.
Clara Luz tells Lichita about Pipe, stating something about knowing he is Guzmán’s responsibility. Lichita takes the picture off the wall and shows Lichita the hole. But look! There is a letter from Pura addressed to Clara Luz.
Fed and Paulina have a viper’s convention. Can anyone kindly translate what was said?
Clara Luz opens the letter, Lichita looking at it as well. Pura’s letter says that Rudolf and Clara Luz are Pipe’s biological parents!
What a revealing episode!! I know most of our small but wise patio have long suspected Pipe’s parentage. Congratulations on your intuitiveness! Kindly fill in what I missed and thank you in advance for your help.
Diana
Diana, muy Bien. You did great on this one. I'll clear up and elaborate on a few things.
The conversation Felipe has with Clara Luz was illuminating. He mentions how he's known many wonderful women in his past who all wanted to be a mother. He is unable ( unwilling) to fulfill that dream for them. Knowing Clara Luz doesn't want children made her the perfect match. He doesn't actually pop the marriage question but he asks her to come to the seaside and share his life with him and drive away her sadness over losing Pipe's love.
When Clara luz tells Luchita about Felipe's plans and that she is going with him she says she has so much to add to her diary. I guess she hasn't been keeping up in it for a while. I assume the letter from Pura was put in it.
Fede and Paulina's discussion was another eye opener. Paulina tells her how she has been tormenting Emi. Shell make a deal. She won't tell Tino, as long as she makes sure Emi stays with Tino, be abuse she wants no part of him .
Another nail in Paulina as a parent was with Jason. She tells him Emi wants nothing to do with her, in fact he's told her he hates her. That is why she thinks it's best he stays with Tino. Lila and Emi's argument was about Paulina also. It ended with Lila saying fine, she's going with Mom and is going to live being a (spoiled) only child.
Kat, thank you for your kind support.
Your astute revelations clarified so much! Thanks to you, Paulina's sordid schemes have been unveiled and she has been exposed as the heartless harpy that she is (at least to viewerville).
"Paulina tells her how she has been tormenting Emi". I thought she said something to that effect Kat but I just wasn't sure. I definitely did not understand "She'll make a deal. She won't tell Tino, as long as she makes sure Emi stays with Tino, be abuse she wants no part of him." How could she ever propose that knowing Fed is hurting her own child! A monster.
I wondered what would separate Clara Luz and Felipe. They seemed so perfect together! But him not wanting children will be the deal breaker (along with Rudolf) I suspect.
Now I understand Jason's angry and somewhat unbelieving expression when Paulina lied about Emi telling her he hated her.
I appreciate your dedication and valuable time in adding so much to my understanding of what is transpiring.
Diana
Part 1/3
Ofelia is back at the casita and feeling very bad about how her life is turning out.
Amparo comes by with some blankets (I think) and some food. She lights a candle, tries to cheer her up.
Later, as she lays down on a matress that Val left behind, she checks her phone wondering about her older daughter. But Val has her own life, she doesn't need her anymore.
She can't sleep, so she starts walking around the destitute place. She refuses to live like this, she will get everything back, no matter what.
At the Portilla house, Leo tells Luis that Ofelia destroyed the painting. Luis gets upset, thinks Ofelia has planned everything from the start. Mar is very sorry, wants an explanation from her mother. There is no point, Luis says, she is never setting foot in their house again.
Val and Art have bought a lot of stuff for her new apartment, throw pillows and whatnot. Time to celebrate with champagne. Val has never had any. They toast to Val's new home, may she fill it with love and succes.
Then they start kissing and take their business to the couch. And then… Val stops Art, because she's not ready yet. She still needs some time, she doesn't want to be just another woman on his list.
Art is very understanding, he will wait as long as it takes for her to trust him fully. She thanks him but looks a bit uncomfortable.
Susana bought burgers for dinner, Camila is happy for once. Susana is also happy because Ofelia is back in the vecindad. They start talking badly about Mar, also, Juan doesn't like it, so he leaves the table. Susana blames Mar for the way Juan behaves now. Camila only wants to help him forget that woman. How she hates her. Susana insists she needs to fight for him.
Mar tells Luis she didn't know what her mother was planning. She feels guilty because she should have put a stop to it. Luis thinks Ofelia manipulated her, Mar asks how did he find out about the shopping. Luis mentions the receipt that Leo showed him. And thinks Mar should help her mother a little, he knows that the casita is in bad shape.
The next morning Art finds out about the painting and screams at Mar. Luis says it was Ofelia's doing and she's gone. He's still very mad.
Val realizes Art left his jacket the night before and grabs it, wondering if he truly loves her or he's only playing. Why does she still doubt him?
Amparo calls Vall to asks her to talk in person about Ofelia, she is very concerned about her.
Mar confronts Paula over the receipt. She was the one who convinced her to go shopping and she kept the receipt just to give it to Leo after. Paula plays the victim, she wanted to be her friend, but she is all alone. Waahaha. She says she had the receipt in her purse, Leo found it in there because he's always looking into her stuff. He is very controlling and jealous, he never allows her to leave the house. And no, she could never talk about this before, but she understands if Mar no longer wants to be friends.
OMG, this woman is so clever, I'm actually impressed how she can just lie on the spot like this.
And she's not done. She starts making up a story about how her relationship with Leo started, and how at the beginning she liked the attention. Then things got bad, but she stayed with him out of love. And then the family didn't allow her to continue working, while at the same time treating her like scum. Nobody ever liked her in this house. Even Luis treats her badly. And Leo's jealousy has only gotten worse. And that one time she tried to find a job that guy took advantage of her. She is so sorry this situation hurt Mar, but she didn't do it on purpose. Wahaha! I AM IMPRESSED!
Mar apologizes for doubting her. Oh, the poor soul.
Once alone Paula is even shocked bout how gullible Mar can be.
Part 2/3
Nick has come to visit Cecilia. He is weeping about his love for Val (doesn't dead Cecilia already know this from a previous "visit"?) Anyway, he's in love, but it's forbidden, he can't even look Val in the eye. He can't stop thinking about her. He closes his eyes and there she is, smiling at him. And then he sees her, sometimes she cries on his shoulder and he has to keep his feelings in check. He has to stay strong! He needs his mother to help fix his broken heart like she used to fix his booboos when he was a child. He needs to get Val out of his heart, she loves his brother.
Camila doesn't like it when Juan goes to work for such long hours. She offers to recommend him with her godmother for a better paying job as a driver. He'd have better hours and could spend more time with her. Juan gets offended, assumes Camila doens't think him capable of finding a better job on his own.
Well, is he capable of finding a better job on his own?
He storms out and for once I have to kinda sorta defend Camila because her offer doesn't bother me. But Juan has the famous "pround to be poor" telenovela syndrome.
Camila goes to talk to Susana bout the whole thing. She only wanted to help Juan. They both agree that being in jail is making things harder for him now. What? Was he swimming in cash before? And everything is because of that maldita. It's not clear who is the "maldita" in this sentence. Either Mar or Ofelia could fill in the blanks.
At the company, Art tells Val that his father threw her mother out of the house because she destroyed a family portrait realized by Cecilia. Val is shocked, feels very bad, apologizes to Art for her mother's behaviour.
Leo tells Nick about the painting, also. He thinks all the Garcias are the same. Nick défends Val and says they need to fix the painting.
Then they have a talk about how each of them perceives their parents love and it's very interesting because whenever I talk about stuff like this with my own brother, it's almost like with have been raised by different parents.
Leo thinks Nick has always been the favorite child because mom created that portrait when he came back home. He was always in the best schools, had camping trips.
Nick says Leo is the older son and Art was always allowed to do whatever he wanted. At the same time he was always sent away.
Leo insists Nick is their parents pride and joy. Everytime he was away everybody missed him so much. And missing him made them feel like he was the most loved.
Nick said being away meant he had to grow up faster. Yes, he got to go to Harvard, but being away from them was very hard. Leo says he would have loved to have gone, too. Nick seemed so happy there, he had so many options, he even thought he won't come back. Nick agrees, he starts to think that maybe he should reconsider some of his choices. Maybe after the product launches he could go back to the US and try to promote it there. Leo thinks they need to make sure the brand will be suceesful in their country first.
Alone, Nick says to himself that maybe this would be a good option.
Mar comes to talk to Val and sees part of the photoshoot. She obviously feels bad and Val notices.
Mar remembers a confrontation they had about Val stealing her dream job. Val comes to hug her. Mar says this was supposed to be her, she feels so jealous. She is all alone in a luxury mansion. Val is verty apologetic, but Mar adds that now she has a new dream, her baby, and she will be OK for him.
They need to to talk about their mother. Val is aware that Ofelia is no longer living in the mansion.
Part 3/3
Paula is very grateful with Lupita for her help. The maid is preparing Luis some fish and Paula is suspiciouly interested in it. She gets rid of Lupita and then puts some drops in Luis' food, while saying she's sorry, but she still needs to get rid of Mar.
At the casita, Ofelia tells herself that she needs to stop crying. She finds one of Mar's tops in her bag and remembers all the things she tried to do for her daughter. Only to find herslef thrown out of the house. This has to be the greatest pain of her life.
The vecinas gossip about Ofelia when Susana arrives and they try to find out what happened. Susana tells them that the Portillas and her own daughters turned their backs on her. The vecinas feel bad for Ofelia, but Susana couldn't care less.
Amparo is back to see Ofelia. Mar has come, also, Ofelia asks Amparo to leave them alone.
Mar has come to help. Luis allowed her to do it because he doesn't want her mother to live in these conditions. Ofelia is happy, she thinks Mar has reconsidered. She adds that Mar needs to realize she is surrounded by enemies at the mansion. But Mar thinks Ofelia is her only enemy, she was the only one causing her problems. Why touch that painting?
She hands her a bunch of cash, saying Luis is sending it to her. Ofelia doesn't accept it, she'd raher be dead than accept something from Luis Portila (since when?. Yes, she does love money, but who doesn't? However, she and her sister are what she loves the most and the reason she wanted them to have money is because they make life a lot easier. But take it away, she doesn't need it!
Thanks, Adriana. The recap was excellent.
Luis was incredibly decent telling Mar that she could help out her mother. I was not happy to see Paula contributing to what could be his early demise.
I did have hopes that Mar had smartened up and she did for a second until Paula put on her act. Guess she has to be disappointed/hurt a few more times before she learns her lesson.
I didn't like Amparo criticizing Mar for her mother for being banned from the mansion. Uh, when is Ofelia held to account for the outrageous things she did at the mansion (and I am not including her being wrongfully accused of destroying the family portrait)? Luis easily could have thrown her out for the general discord she caused day after day. Why is she supposed to get a free pass just because she is Mar's mother?
I still cannot believe that Ofelia turned down the cash with her explanation that she only wanted money so the girls didn't have to suffer through what she did.
If that were the case, why did she make life so hard at the mansion for Mar? Something isn't right in that noggin'.
My favorite part of any novela: I have to mention that Ofelia, back at her house, quoted the theme song. "Cueste lo que cueste, me levantaré." (No matter what it costs me, I will rise again.)
I do not know if I am looking ahead to tonight's episode with Luis probably falling ill from the poisoned fish. : (
Adriana Noel, thank you for your outstanding recap.
"Once alone Paula is even shocked bout how gullible Mar can be" said it all!
Arturo didn't seem to lash out at Val after hearing about the painting desecration. This time. He is trying to keep his feelings under wraps but I think that deep inside, he will never fully trust Val. And without trust...
Paula is her always slimy self...
I was surprised Luis told Mar to help Ofelia, financially. I was shocked that Ofelia did not take the cash. She seemed to mean what she said about "she'd rather be dead than accept something from Luis Portila". Was it a true change of heart or a calculated refusal? Only time will tell.
Diana
Diana, right back at you for your “. . . or was it a calculated refusal?” You can tell what I am thinking by my selective quote of your opinion.
Thanks Adriana. Once again you explained things better than I understood. In the scene with Cami and Juan I thought she was thinking about getting a job for herself, and the job was tagging along with Juan on his Uber gigs and that he squashed that idea. I guess my fantastical plot lines fit the emotions portrayed, but not the actual narrative. Just goes to show we don't actually have to understand everything, right Diana. We can use our imagination and create our own TN storylines.
I wonder where the furniture that was still in the Casita (table and green chairs notably) vanished to. They certainly didn't move into Val's new digs. It looked to me like O was just sleeping on a fluffy blanket on the floor and not a mattress. We all have seen that I isn't afraid of work when she has to so I really hope she tackles those sooty windows as her first job cleaning the Casita.
I'm amazed she only had one small suitcase of possessions at the mansion. Her wardrobe changed daily, there should have been a lot more, and on top of that she took one of Mars shirts so that displaced one of her items. I saw tags on some of the clothes as she packed the bag. I wonder if she can return them for a refund, especially if they came from the super pricey clothing store.
That white and black number Mar wore in the episode was not at all flattering. The wardrobe department is giving Paula much prettier dresses, imo.
Adriana, I'm also impressed how fast Paula thinks on her feet and her superb acting abilities as she's continues to fool gullible Mar.
Thanks Adriana! Your recap captured all the juice as always!
Is Amparo going to meet up with Val and finally tell her to truth? Or will we get more of the vague, you don't understand her past bs?
Val doesn't trust Art, Art doesn't trust Val....yawn. The only thing even slightly interesting about that is that Val's true issue is a lack of faith in herself. If she could trust herself then she would be able to trust her decision to believe in Art and thus trust him!
I feel like we are just stuck in the doldrums and it's getting stagnant. Paula is winning too much, the one bright spot - Luis and Mar, is less shiny because of the shopping spree and the painting drama - we need some spark to get this plot simmering again.
Thanks Diana, great recap. And once again thanks to Kat for adding details. I enjoyed the scenes at the school. Some light moments in the mist of doom and gloom. I was surprised sed that Clara Luz doesn’t want children. She sure loves Pipe. And seems quite happy that he’s her son. I guess this will make an easy breakup with Felipe if he doesn’t want kids. And Rudolf will be back in the picture! And yes, the letter fell out of her diary.
Tino and Aide are getting annoying. The scene at the school was funny, and they are acting like teenagers trying to make each other jealous. I’m ready for Tino to discover how awful Fed is.
I couldn’t believe Chano blamed Luchita for Chuchito not talking. He always blames her for everything. I once wanted them back together but not anymore. It seemed one thing the doctor said was Chuchito didn’t have to talk because everyone met his needs before he needed to speak. My second child wasn’t talking and the doctor told me if the older one asks for a cookie they both get one. So no need for him to ask.
Facundo is such an idiot. Not sure what Aide ever saw in him.
Poor Emi. If he goes with his mother he looses and if he stays behind he gets Fed. And apparently his mother at least suspected he was telling the truth. Lila can go, right now she deserves her mom. Who added another lie when she told Jason that Emi said he hated her.
Liz
Liz, thank you very much. I so appreciate your valuable contributions.
Thank you for your wise "Chano blamed Luchita for Chuchito not talking"...AND especially..."one thing the doctor said was Chuchito didn’t have to talk because everyone met his needs before he needed to speak". I didn't understand that of course and am very grateful you provided that! It makes sense and I love your story of your own children. I knew there was no bad news but that was a golden nugget for certain :)
What makes Adriana so loathsome is that yes, she knew Emi was telling the truth about Fed. How could you ever betray a child, let alone your own? Fed and Adriana deserve whatever fate they are meted out.
Diana
Kat, "Just goes to show we don't actually have to understand everything, right Diana. We can use our imagination and create our own TN storylines".
Love it!!
Diana
Thanks Adriana, you turned out another great recap. I was thinking of the bad guys in this and right now it seems to be Paula. Is she trying to kill Luis. As she sprinkled whatever it was she says she’s sorry Luis, but she needs to get Mar out of the house. Apparently her main goal is to be the lady of the house. But if Mar leaves I’m pretty sure Camila would return home. I don’t even remember if those two got along. And I wonder if her career was pretty much over so she settled for Leo.
The lack of trust between Arturo and Val is going to end that relationship.
It seems like the majority of the family just assume the daughters are just like their mother. And I wonder if Ofelia has a plan.
I agree with whoever mentioned the furniture. There was a bed also, because when Luis “died” Val gave up her bed for Mar.
Liz
Liz, I got a kick out of your cookie story. We have two daughters who are two years apart . Our older daughter started talking at an early age , but her younger sister started talking even earlier ..at 10 months . If the older daughter asked for something , her younger sister would always say " Me, too." Susan
Previously: Facundo secretly records Aidé and Circe’s private conversation, then posts it online.
At Uli’s play, Aidé holds hands with Dámaso, trying to make Tino jealous. Tino acts in a similar adolescent manner as loathsome Fed tries to wrap herself around Tino’s shoulders like a shawl.
Felipe reveals he doesn’t want children, which is why Clara Luz is the woman for him. They pledge to go away together.
Paulina’s place in hell seems a bit more assured after she tells Fed she knows she abused Emi but will keep it quiet IF Fed ensures Emi stays with Tino. Further, she bad mouths Emi to Jason, lying that the child told her he hates her!
In the revelation that most of our small, loyal patio already guessed, Clara Luz reads a letter from Pura telling her that she (Clara Luz) and Rudolf are Pipe’s biological parents!
As we begin, we see a flashback of Pura on her computer where it seems she learns that Clara Luz and Rudolf are Pipe’s parents. We then see Silvana sitting on her bed in tears admitting out loud who Pipe’s parents are. Ahhh, next an important piece of the puzzle is revealed. We next see Guzmán at Pura’s deathbed where she has just imparted the news to him.! His face contorts in anger. We then see her writing the letter to Clara Luz, moving from bed to desk as she agonizes over what she’s written. She folds the letter, writes Clara Luz’s name on the envelope and puts it in Clar Luz’s diary.
Back in the present, Clara Luz is trying to put the pieces together. “Pipe is mi hijo” she says, in shock. Lichita supports her as the realization starts sinking in, Clara Luz then starts smiling yelling she has a child!
A rather serious Tino talks with his children with Bertha present. He tells them the news that Fed is his girlfriend. Bertha is delighted; Lila is sarcastic and Emi just stares (the poor child). Tino asks Emi how he feels and the dear boy says nothing, simply smiling and patting Tino on the shoulder.
Dámaso and Aidé talk as he tries to fill her head, painting a picture of tranquility and serenity. He seems to be making progress as she says something and he excitedly kisses her hand.
Fed and Paulina are still stirring their boiling cauldron of toil and trouble; I think Paulina says she wants Lila and Tino can have Emiliano. She tells Fed she is in no position to negotiate. She sneers at Fed when Fed makes a comment about the kind of mother she is.
Diana
Clara Luz hands Rudolf Pura’s letter and eyes wide as saucers says he is the papa of Pipe. “Pipe is mi hijo”. She is wide eyed. All of a sudden, he says “no, it’s impossible” He swears it just can’t be and appears to get dizzy.
Fed and Checo discuss a possible job for him.
Circe tries to reach Checo.
Aidé and Augusto are making the rounds but I can’t tell if she is trying to raise money or find a place to live. Regardless, Aidé is very frustrated. Augusto is his usual supportive self.
Clara Luz and Rudolf try and track down more info at the fertility clinic.
Tino and Fed meet Jason and Paulina at Family court.
Igor shows Guzmán the video Facundo took. Speaking of, we next see idiot Facundo live streaming saying “macho, macho man” as viewerville does a collective eyeroll. Aidé comes up behind him; does she say she is divorcing him?
Clara Luz and Rudolf are now in front of the medical director they spoke with previously. She weakens and then asks them to wait then goes to a file cabinet and removes what I think is a tape. Later, Clara Luz and Rudolf are on the computer when we see a flashback of Silvana having a meltdown in her office throwing all the contents on her desk on the floor. I believe she admits she used Clara Luz’ eggs. We then see her ripping up papers.
In court Fed urges Tino to be calm. The judge arrives and asks everyone to be seated. I think Fed tells him the judge is tough. Jason does the talking for him and Paulina disparaging Tino. Fed stands up and objects….
Aidé is in church, kneeling and praying for her children. “Gracias madre” she says blessing herself. She lights a votive candle and picks up a St. Felipe (?) mass card.
Clara Luz raves to Rudolf about her anger regarding Silvana. Rudolf swears he is not the father; it can’t be! We then see Silvana on her computer as she mentions Rudolf. Clara Luz is frustrated as Rudolf says he wasn’t with Silvana (I think). They try and piece together what happened. Then he recalls a conversation with Ana that didn’t go well. Something sparks his memory and he gets up and leaves.
Tino finally gets a chance to talk and I think he tells the court Paulina was gone for years.
Facundo barges in to Guzmán’s office, yelling something about Maxiclick.
Diana
Tino gives a heartfelt plea to the court. Fed says Paulina did not make any effort to see the children but Jason tries to say Paulina was sad and missed her children. The bickering continues. The judge brings up that Tino was convicted of fraud.
Circe sees photos of different houses on her phone (which I couldn’t follow) and freaks out. Checo shows up with a rose and she cries he cheers her up. They kiss.
Rudolf confronts Ana about what he just recalled. He talks about having sex years ago, mentioning Silvana. Can anyone clarify?
Clara Luz greets Felipe. She is very serious and he asks her what it is. Tell me. She takes his arm and says por favor. She puts her hands on his face and tells him Pipe is her child. With Rudolf. He backs up and stares.
Facundo shows up at his apartment where Aidé is but I couldn’t follow the discussion.
The judge has rendered her judgement. I believe she gives custody to Paulina.
This was extremely difficult to follow. This was so fast paced; something important seemed to transpire in every scene. I did the best I could but there was too much that I simply couldn’t understand. Kindly fill in and/or correct what I got wrong. Thank you in advance for your kind assistance.

Mar tells O that the money is to fix up the casita. Ofelia insists that Mar return the money to Luis and that he use it to discover the truth about the painting. The two argue o tells her , senora Portillo, to enjoy your mansion and your new life.
Luis is served the special dish at breakfast. Leo is happy without O there. Luis tells him end of discussion, let's eat in peace. Mar is there too, I guess she went to see mom before eating breakfast. She's pretty lucky, no runs to the bathroom heaving with morning sickness....
Val is pouting in the dressing room before her shoot because she is sad about what O did. She apologizes to Arturo about it. They agree to change the subject. She wants to speak with Mar about it. Arturo will take her to the house later.
O talks to herself. I'm your mother Mar and I need to protect you. She has a brainstorm, she has one last trick up her sleeve by the name of Rocio.
Luis tells lupita his fish was delicious. She lets him know it was thanks to Paula who prepared it ( here's hoping this is a nail in her coffin). Luis thanks her. Leo also thanks Paula, gives her a kiss and says she's the best wife in the world.
Mar is reading a book;( a Spanish version of what to expect when you are expecting most likely). Paula joins her. Mar tries to ignore her. She doesn't want to be her bestie from what I can tell. I think she said leave me to my relationship with Luis, and you stick with yours with Leo. Mar retreats from the sala.
Susana is spy out her window at the dark Casita with nary a perp from O. Cami comes down. Susana bashes O and her daughters as usual. Then he tells Cami that her cousin Gloria is doing better and has remembered what happened. Cami smiles in glee.
Val visits Mar. She's worried about the ruckus caused my O may affect Mar's pregnancy. She tells her call me if you need anything. You aren't alone.
Cami is determined to make Mar worse than her mother if she hid what O did to Gloria. Susana uses her red house phone to call Gloria.
Val is happy Mar finally is standing up for herself but she pulls her own chip off the O block by saying I'm worried about you here. You can always come stay with me you know.
Gloria is ready to come back and tell all. Susana and Cami bond over the good news. Susana blessed Cami before she goes up to bed awaiting Juan's return. No sooner does Susana sit down than Juan returns ( I guess Jacinto is working second shift or a second job tonight). She makes him sit and discuss things he'd rather not. He asks her to quit mentioning Mar to him. He wants to forget her and Mom is not helping the cause.
O is tossing some dirty water in the street wearing heels, the fire engine red dress which I think we have actually seen before and her black blazer. Perfect cleaning attire. The three busy body neighbors come up to her and she gets offensive. But they come bearing gifts of food . Amparo is also with them. She thanks the 3, group hug.
Val and Arturo are at her apartment talking about O. She tells him o was always obsessed with controlling Mar. She always fought with her. She was the black sheep of the family. Arturo Im also the black sheep of my family he jokes. She smacks him for the joke, but I didn't quite catch the punchline. The gist is they feel totally different than their respective family.
Another day dawns and Paula heads to the kitchen to poison Luis food some more, but Mar has decided it's her job to take care of Luis breakfast. Paula does her best to try and get her to go rest as she is gestating. Mar feels fine though
Rocio and I meet on a sidewalk. Rocio tells her I'm on to you, Ofelia. O fires back about the police being interested in what happened to Graciela. O says if we work together we can get something from Luis
Amparo calls Val. She is so about O but Val thinks she deserves what's happened to herself. Amparo alludes to O having suffered enough she doesn't deserve more. Val asks why do you say that.
Rocio doesn't trust O. Bo just wants her to go to the mansion and I guess demand to know which of the son's is hers. I didn't quite follow this conversation.
Val asks why do you say she has suffered. Amparo insists she needs to talk to her in person. Val is too busy with work but she will text her. Amparo insists, today, your mother is not well.
Rocio and O again. O wants to help her but she asks did you have an affair with Luis. Rocio says no, he took my son from me after my husband died and I was in despair.
Back at the mansion Luis enjoyed the breakfast prepared by Mar. Paula is the only other family member there. Mar gives Luis a flower ( a boutonniere type I guess). He leaves. Paula gives Mar a hint that Luis likes pasta. Mar leaves. Lupita comes to clear the table as Paula tells her she needs her help again. Lupita looks at her suspiciously.
O wants more info. Rocio says the only thing you need to know is that señor Portillo is dangerous and you daughter is not safe near him. O is all set to help Rocio. Together they will make him pay, the two nod in agreement.
Nick, Arturo and the team for the athletic line talk about the campaign. Val arrives in a pretty red floral dress. Nick stares at her like a lovesick puppy.
So the favor Lupita is doing for Paula is getting Mars in for her phone. Mar is putting on nail polish and lupita offers to help her send a voic message to Arturo because apparently he is trying to get a hold of her for some obscure reasons ( Paula's machinations).
The launch meeting ends. Val chases after Nick to see why he is avoiding her. He says he's just nervous about the launch. She grabs his arm . You would tell me if I've offended you in any way right. I want things to go back to how it was before.
Someone's knocking at the door, (but not ringing the bell). Cami is on her phone. Susana is ironing. Cami doesn't get the hint to open it so Susana gets the door. It's Gloria. Happy genuine smile from Cami.
Lupita gives the pin to Paula. She tells Mar the food is ready so Mar goes with her, without the phone of course. Paula goes into her contacts and perhaps sent a message, or deleted the contact or the message she sent. I guess time will tell.
Gloria is going to tell Luis all that happened to Cami and Susana's delight.
Message was sent to Juan. Mar says meet me at the hospital.he wonders why won't she leave him in peace.
Gloria and I meet outside the Casita. O is so happy to see she is well, how's your grandson? Gloria accuses her of pushing her down the stairs but I says that is not what happened, you hit me. Gloria looks confused.
Back at the lunch table ( is the office just around the corner, Leo and Luis are both home for lunch). Paula sweetly compliments Mar on the meal. Luis is off to the office, Mar goes with him to the car. Leo is confused, why are you being nice to Mar. Paula rolls her eyes and explains. Perhaps something like keeping your enemies close. Leo is going back to work too
O continues to tell Gloria what happened was an accident. Gloria complains she lost a big chunk of her life (Susana's words coming out of her mouth). I says Luis already threw me out of the house. I'm separated from my daughter's. Being in jail would be no worse than living here, but be it on your conscience. It was a horrible accident.
Val insists on Amparo telling her why her mother supposedly suffered so much raising her and Mar. Amparo will spill the beans but she has to swear not to tell O. Your mother was sold to your father when she was young. She didn't want to marry him but she was bought for a piece of land ( I think). Your mother was sold like a piece of merchandise.
Juan goes to the hospital. Mar sees him and rips into him. You sent me a text, bo I didn't...
Val can't believe it. Abuelo was a violent man, when I tried to escape he dragged her back (by her hair) and beat her into submission. Now Val understands everything. She still can't believe her father did it. Amparo tells her your father was not the good man you thought he was. ( Another scene with Mar and Juan arguing at the hospital entrance). Val doesn't want to hear anything bad about dad. He was the best. Amparo says she needed to tell her about O so she would understand and med bridges with her. Val is all set to confront O about it, but Amparo reminds her, you promised not to say anything...
Aide us job hunting and having no luck as Guzman has blacklisted her. Augusto thinks she should talk to Tino. He has a new business deal in the works and he's sure he would hire her.
Aide wants Facundo to bankroll her in some way since she supported him for the past years and gave him company shared.
Silvana tried harvesting her own eggs but she was infertile. She has helped so many others have babies but can't be a mother herself which is why she started tossing things.
It seems Jason Is a lawyer in real life. Fede says the judge usually favors the mother so that does not bode well for them.
Circe's friends had told her their house was listed for sale. Those are the pictures she sees.
Clara luz can't go away with Felipe because she has discovered she is Pipe's mother and Rudolph is the father Silvana wanted Rudolph as the father because he has been her secret crush. Pretty sure Ana collected Rudolph's deposit in a condom and gave it to Silvana.
Facundo sold his shares to Guzman.
Kat, thank you for your fine recap.
“she pulls her own chip off the O block” was a glittering gem.
Paula has interrupted her indolent lifestyle with a flurry of activity. Destroying the family portrait (from which she is glaringly absent), trying to ingratiate herself with Mar, tainting food and now sending meddlesome texts. Yet, shockingly and sadly, no one seems the wiser.
“Gloria complains she lost a big chunk of her life (Susana's words coming out of her mouth)” was exactly right! I was relieved that Ofelia’s words seemingly made Gloria reevaluate what she has been force fed.
Art and Val’s romance limps along as Nick’s unrequited love is fast becoming a snooze fest.
Val learns the truth about her father, his halo now tarnished. I can’t see her keeping all this disturbing information to herself. My money is she seeks out Nick for counsel.
Diana
Kat, thank you for your wise comments that cleared up so much.
So Aide was job hunting; no surprise Guzman has destroyed her reputation, he's taken almost everything else from her. I did think Augusto mentioned Tino's new business venture but wasn't sure.
Rudolf was so admant he couldn't be the father. He was pretty clever when he figured out what happened with Ana. Thank you for explaining how all of that worked.
I also didn't glean Facundo sold his shares to Guzman. Such scum.
Thanks again Kat...
Diana
Thanks, Kat, for the very fine recap.
FINALLY! Val has heard the truth about her father. Sire took long enough.
Thanks Kat, for this wonderful recap to read with my morning coffee!!
When Art and Val were talking about being the black sheep, Art made a comment like 'it's as if Nicolas and I aren't even related' and that's when Val smacked him. It was a reflex response because she knows Rocio's story that one of them is Rocio's son and not a Portillo - thus not related. Art didn't get it either, I'm sure. Val tried to soften it right away by saying that she and Mar were so different that sometimes it was hard to believe they were sisters too.
O doesn't deserve to go to jail for Gloria's fall of course, because she didn't push her - but then again Juan didn't kidnap Mar so the question in my mind is: does O get to go to jail for not pushing Gloria since she sent Juan, she already sent Juan to jail for not kidnapping Mar? Karma? Or does she get credit for time served since she was apparently already sold into 'prison' as a young girl?
One distinction I noticed during Amparo's story is that she didn't say Val's abuelo was a violent man, she said abuelos - plural, meaning both grandma and grandpa were mean and violent. It was grandpa who went after O and beat her and brought her back when she tried to escape but grandma was no prize either according to this story. She also used the plural when she was talking about them selling O for a piece of land and Amparo said they didn't stay in touch with their daughter after that - probably not a bad thing all things considered - so it's likely Val and Mar never met their grandparents.
Mar was upset with Paula because she wanted to be taking care of Luis. She's not necessarily souring on their friendship, she just didn't like that Paula went out of her way to do something special for Luis without mentioning it to her - so Mar could have done it instead. Btw, who eats fish for breakfast?
Darcy, thanks for clearing up Val's playful punch
At least she wasn't pouting for a change. Her dress was pretty. So was Mar's dress today. Much better than that white and black off the shoulder number from the previous episode. Paula's dress was stunning also. The fashion house really could use her as a model and appease some of her resentment. She has a stunning figure and wears her clothes well. I doubt it would make her a better person though.
Just as well the grandparents were out of the picture. So I was correct on her being sold for a piece of land. It was an educated guess when I saw the word terreno.
I guess people on a restricted diet eat fish. It's better than bacon or sausage for the heart.
Of course, since it seems they also eat lunch at home, perhaps the meal wasn't breakfast.
Thanks Diana for another great recap. And thanks Kat, for your imput. Especially explaining how Rudolf having sex with Ana resulted in a baby for Silvana! I was trying to figure out how they did that. Never even thought of a condom. Of course, as a teen I never got the “dirty jokes” so I’m not surprised I couldn’t figure that out.
I was afraid Guzman was going to tell Facundo he had to throw Aide and the kids out if he wanted to continue working there. I knew the shares were mentioned but didn’t realize Facundo had sold them.
It sounds like Demaso wants Aide to go away with him. I think he’ll be leading groups at a really classy place. I’m not sure if she agreed to go or is thinking of going. If she goes I hope she realizes he’s not for her!
Liz
Thanks Kat, I enjoyed your recap. So Ofelia really hasn’t learned her lesson and is just going to stir up more trouble. If she hadn’t been so obnoxious in the first place they might have believed her when she said she didn’t take the picture. I have to think to the end! When they discover Paula was the real evil one will Ofelia be welcomed back? And will she suddenly become the ideal mother and mother-in-law? I just don’t see that happening.
I feel bad that Amparo told Val about her dad. Val loved her dad and it seems he treated her well. Amparo could have stressed he wasn’t a great husband but was a loving father. I had a great dad and would hate to learn he was really horrible. Also, how much of what Amparo said was just hearsay from Ofelia!
I thought Luis was going to be in the hospital when Paula sent Juan that text. I was surprised the maid betrayed Mar like that. Mar’s only been nice to her, unlike Ofelia. Also I wonder if Paula was always nice to the help. It doesn’t seem like she would be.
Maybe we’ll soon learn why Luis has Rocio’s son, and which one it is!
Liz
Liz, I'm actually assuming that's how the specimen was collected. I don't think it was explicitly said. I remember a show where a girl turned up pregnant and she claimed it was from a shared hot tub experience without sex.. Now that really defies logic. Not sure if it was Glee, or Padres Rico's, Padres Pobres.
Liz, I agree about the dad bashing. Now if she backed it up with ongoing abuse of Ofelia that she witnessed but was hidden from the children I could see it. I wonder what happened to all his money if he could afford to buy a wife, or was it the equivalent of the price of a cow or something and no large amount.? I'm still betting it's Nico. His dark hair make him look more like her, the other children have lighter ( though Cami's is definitely a bleach job) like their mother.
Liz,thank you for your kind words.
I am very appreciative you explained what Dámaso was going on about! Leading meditation type groups in a calm and lovely environment sounds nice (for an hour or two)! I don't see he and Aide together at all. The actor is so handsome IRL, I hardly recognize him here!
Facundo portrays the fool so well here...no surprise that he twisted the knife in Aide's back by selling his shares to Guzman.
Diana
I just wanted to give eveyone a heads up for Monday's episode.
My fur daughter is going in for dental work Monday and isn't expected to be released until late afternoon/early evening. I am planning on recapping and hope to watch the late airing on my high def channel if I'm unable to watch the 8 pm airing. Everything will depend on how she is.
I will give an update Monday evening.
Diana
What a week! Five good episodes! Looks like Fabiola is a goner and Francisco is the puppet master of them all much to the chagrin of wannabe and dog- hater Memo. Kat, the name of the girl at Chofi’s is Natalia. They finally mentioned it last night.
Jarifa, yes I noticed they named Natalia. I'm sure it was mentioned when she first appeared but I promptly forgot it. The writers need to have "Norm" shout outs like in Cheers when people appear on the scene early on. If I didn't have so many shows going at the same time I would catch on quicker I bet. Or put up a cheat sheet. I finally remembered Fabiola's name and Francisco likely eliminated her. Maybe there is another thumb drive somewhere. I think she made 3 copies and one was turned into the police, the one was erased then smashed by Memo so maybe she sent one to her dad hopefully. Also, maybe a forensic computer guy can find the deleted files from her laptop. Or did memo steal it and replace with a new one?
I still see hints of remorse in Enrique. He is not liking what protecting his son has unleashed. I like this actor. He played a really bad villain in Nadie Como Tu but I still understood some of where he was coming from so I didn't hate him as much as other villains. I was disappointed no one else watched that TN with me. I thought it was really good.
Kat, I don't recall this one, which is odd as I watch lots of novelas. Perhaps I was caught up in a Turkish dizi at the time. I will look for it after Papas and Hijas wind up. The cast looks good! Thanks for mentioning it!
Babachita
Kat, I like the “Norm shout out idea” since I always forget character’s names. LOL I feel sorry for Enrique. The actor Eduardo Santamarina has never been one of my favorites but he is doing an outstanding job here. It seems like Enrique’s worst “crime” was being a philanderer until the accident happened and now he finds himself an accessory to an assortment of crimes he could be prosecuted for. Some time this week, he said he wished he would have just turned his son in. It is interesting seeing Santamarina playing opposite his wife Mayrín Villanueva.
Well, I hate this commenting format . I wrote a couple paragraphs , and then I somehow lost my comments .
Diana , I cannot remember if I thanked you for the recap. I had company last week ,so I am playing catch up now.
The only one who is having fun right now Is Paula. I think that she is bored with Graciela and Cami out of the house . She was always trading insults with them. Mar is such easy prey . However, Paula has been getting careless. The maid knows what she has been up to, and there was a guy standing right next to her at the art gallery when she took such pleasure in slashing every family member in that portrait ... too many witnesses.
O is up and running again. What is her plan with Rocio? Does she plan to blackmail her son in law? Susan
Babachita it was on at 4p.m. last year. It's hot at that time in the summer and it was around the time I'd get home from babysitting so I watched it then. It was set in the country as opposed to a city show and I'm a country girl so it appealed to me.
This show really sucks you in. I’m usually a day late but I’m usually ready for the next episode. And I wasn’t sure I would watch it as I try to just watch two at a time. I didn’t realize Enrique was playing against his real wife. That must make for an interesting day.
It looks like the grandpa had Fabiola disappear. I hope she’s alive somewhere but I doubt it. Is the one copy still in her sneaker? I couldn’t believe how the dad the one that killed the innocent guy) tore into Luciana, verbally attacking her for something her parents were blamed for when she was six. I felt sorry for him as I think he regretted killing that kid. But now I say make him rot in jail. Although I wonder if the bad guys got rid of that body.
Every show I admire Enrique’s beard. I’m not a beard lover but his is so nicely trimmed.
Liz
I was just going to say how much I dislike Memo. The actor is doing a great job at being such a creep.
The dog is a pretty good actor and judge of character!
The relationship triangle between Enrique, Ines, and Karina is getting interesting! Having Mayrin and her real-life husband Eduardo as part of this triangle is also fun.
It’s fun/confusing to see Patricio right after watching him in Papas!
There are so many familiar faces in this such as Omar, Elena’s husband, as secondary characters. It’s like seeing old friends!
I agree there has to be another copy of the video, probably still in her shoe.
This is really a good novela!
Babachita
Hi Susan and thank you! Hope you had a good time with your company.
"Mar is such easy prey" said it all.
I agree about Paula too; she's showing her "hand" to too many people. That will be her undoing.
Diana
I like this show , but I am getting a little confused .
I wonder what it's like to be in a show with your husband and have him doing love scenes with another woman. We had husband and wife Rulli and Boyer in" Diana Salazar", but in that show , they both did love scenes, with other people.
Babachita, i, too, love seeing familiar faces pop up in different shows . It's like a repertory company. I also love the houses and the scenery. Susan
Finally am able to watch the last episode .
What is the name of the dark haired girl who seems to have been the novia of the brother who died in the car accident ?
What is the dog's name ? Susan
Kat...ha!!! I finally have time today to catch up on a week's worth of Juegos episodes, and I realize that I have missed a lot, including new characters .
Who is the dark haired girl carrying the little dog around ? She just seems to have suddenly shown up .
The actor playing Patricio is a real loser in " Papas, " but he seems to be a good guy here. Susan ( Susy)
Natalia is the other girl. She is an investigative reporter I think. She showed up a few episodes back. She immediately became best friends with Luciana. She is one of the boarders at Chofis hostel. She must have a bunch of rooms because Patricio and the Joaquin are staying there also. Someone mentioned gallita growling at Memo. Let it be mentioned that the cop Joaquin, that is obsessed with Luciana, got a similar reaction from the dog which I think is a clue that he will be in the bad guy camp, or at the least a thorn in the galan's side as his romance blossoms. Juegos is really good. Too bad we have the other 2 shows before it so recapping is a challenge. But it is fun to discuss weekly at least as we all catch up on the weekend.
OT, there have been ads for season 3 of Diana Salazar on ViX premium so hopefully it will return soon for our Sunday night show.
Thank you so much. I didn't realize it was a hostel .
The slick black haired guy scheming with Memo gives me the giggles . He keeps his head down as he looks out of the top of his eyes giving him a sneaky, bad dude look.
I also get a kick out of Karina giving Enrique constant side eye . Is she for or against him shielding his son from the police ?
Are Karina and the cop till married ? Is the little girl her daughter ?
Susan(asking so many questions)
Thanks, Kat, for bringing to our attention that season 3 will be released soon on VIX . As a matter of fact, it will be the final season (Yay! Some times a shorter story is better told than one that goes on forever) and will be dropped on April 11. We could lay bets on how long it will take to get to Univision. Anyway, I cannot wait to get back to recapping the end of the story whenever.
Slick black haired guy with beard = German. Memo and he have an intimate relationship, though the intro to characters that was given says Memo is obsessed with his cousin Patricio, and we have seen his jealousy already with him not staying at his house, but at the hostel instead. German works with Enrique. Not sure what Enrique's current job is besides running for president.
Karina has signed the divorce papers though I'm not positive it has been signed off by a job yet. The daughter appears to be theirs. I thought perhaps Roberto adopted his sister's child when she was killed, but I'm pretty sure they were killed together as she was at 6 or 7 months pregnancy I think. I wonder if that story will be a mystery to be solved also, who killed his sister.
Karina's side eyes I think are because Enrique's wife, Ines wants to help on the campaign, which means Karina will not have the access to him she has had. She has declared her love for Enrique, she may be biding her time till he is elected, then will push for his divorce and marriage to her.
I don't mind the questions, Susan.
Kat, thank you . You are so kind to answer my questions . You cleared up some things for me .
P.s yes, autocorrect always changes the title to " judges" for me !!! Susan
