PAPAS #61 Part 1

Previously, Paulina’s revelation that Emi is not his son was not a surprise to Tino. He found out years ago when Emi needed a blood transfusion. Emi suffered seizures resulting from Fed’s injection and subsequently lapsed into a coma. As Aidé listens, Paulina seems to infer that she hopes Emi dies.

Street savvy Fed records her conversation with Paulina, denying everything she previously said regarding Emi, especially her wish that the surgery would not go well. She says she would never harm Emi. Liar!

Although Fed denies threatening Emi, Aidé angrily utters some threats of her own. Damaso is trying to hoodwink someone into investing in his (I’m thinking dirty) business.

Scarlet wants to have a costume party and retrieves “the” mask from the closet. She puts it on…

We open as Scarlet, (wearing the mask) sits next to Uli on the bed. Uli is in full panic mode, hyperventilating and clutching his chest. He yells “it was Facundo!”.

Aidé confronts Fed but Tino arrives, interrupting. Tino gets a call from Bertha and says “Uli”. A concerned Aidé rushes forward and Fed turns away. They talk and as he leaves, he kisses her on the lips to both of their surprise, and then turns away.

Clara Luz and Rudolf talk as Pipe inches into the room, overhearing, thinking he is a problem. They reassure him he is anything but; Clara Luz talks to him about Silvana. Rudolf kisses him and they both give him love, affection and encouragement telling him how important he is to them.

Aidé accuses Fed of tormenting Emi and condemns both she and Guzmán, calling her a vibora…Fed sticks her pointed red tentacle tip in Aidé’s face muttering threats.

Jason comes up to Aidé, asking if she is all right.

PAPAS #61 Part 2

Tino is talking to Uli, advising him to be calm. Tears run down Uli’s face as he recalls that fateful night of the party, drinks flowing, everyone wearing masks and dancing. We see that Aidé, Guzmán and Circe (maskless interestingly enough) are also there. Uli is dancing on a table; he falls back, losing his balance but is caught by some of the partygoers. Aidé and Guzmán carry him out. Uli then goes into a supply closet trying to find more liquor. All of a sudden, a man comes in wearing the mask. They fall to the floor…

Jason tells Aidé how wonderful Emi is; he seems to respect Tino. She talks about Emi and Tino’s relationship; there is talk about the perfect father. At one point, Aidé does seem to say how wonderfully Tino took care of the children when they were abandoned by their mother (although in a non-accusatory manner).

I think Uli asks if Tino has to tell Aidé to which Tino says he does. Tino seems to ask him if he is sure it was Facundo. He says yes, he is. Tino tries to reassure him and Uli tells his father he will be OK as Tino hugs him.

Circe and Lila say something about a crisis to each other but are silent as Scarlet walks by. Scarlet joins Tino and Uli; she knows something about her father upset Uli. Scarlet recounts talking with her father about the costume party and going to the closet and pulling out the mask. Tino asks her if the mask belonged to her father. Yes. Meanwhile, we see Facundo in sheer panic mode, searching for the mask. He sits on the stairs, hands together, looking worried. “Claro” he says, Scarlet! He goes to the closet and pulls out some clothes.

Fed is on the phone reaming someone out as Chano rushes in. She starts unbuttoning his shirt and pushes him down on the desk (she has a thing for tables apparently). We next see Chano on the floor, rising to get dressed. Fed is quick to leave but as Chano puts his shirt on, who is lurking around the corner but Igor, removing his glasses, saying “no, no”, stunned as to what he’s seen.

Bertha and the children have a bite. Checo arrives and is invited to sit. He asks about Emi and he and Circe rub hands. I can’t relate their words here or in a subsequent scene (they seem unimportant).

Tino and Aidé are talking about Facundo, she is understandably ill. They talk about custody of the children as well.

Clara Luz’s doorbell rings and Guzmán comes in demanding to know where Pipe is. At the moment, he is sitting on Clara Luz’ lap. Guzmán rushes up the stairs but can’t get in. Uh oh, as he leaves, he sees Pipe’s sock on the floor; it appears the jig is up.

Tino questions a security guard about Facundo (I think).

PAPAS #61 Part 3 of 3

Tino is back with Aidé at the hospital talking about Facundo. Aidé is worried as Facundo is the father of her child. With that, all the children arrive with Augusto, Bertha as well as a singer and two guitar players! Aidé and Tino look uncertain but then the cheerful face of the doctor appears and he waves from the hall. The group stands at Emi’s bed singing to him. Emi hugs Scarlet’s hand and opens his eyes. Everyone smiles and is overjoyed!

Chano talks with Lichita at the Maxiclick reception desk. She natters on about Chofis’ “sessions” with Guzmán. Something causes him to gag and he walks away with his phone.

Everyone tells Emi how happy they are he is awake. Tino is so proud of his son, he loves him very much. Everyone moves in toward Emi but their joy is short-lived when wicked witch Fed flies in…Emi stares and starts hyperventilating. Aidé gives her hard eyes as Tino FINALLY seems to notice what the problem is. He turns and asks Aidé if she knows what’s wrong. Tino then asks everyone to leave. He leans down and whatever his question was, Emi shakes his head yes.

Lichita enters Chofis’ room and sees the phone. When she asks what is going on, Chofis stumbles trying to get out of it but then finally tells her Guzmán gave her the phone! Lichita looks confused, angry and disappointed all at once.

Rudolf asks Clara Luz to be his novia. “Si” she answers. I love you she answers and they kiss.

“Hijo” Tino whispers lovingly to his son, encouraging him to talk. Emi tells him Fed is mentira. She put a camera in my chair. Tino is having a hard time keeping his cool as Emi relates her blackmail, her demanding he help her get Tino as her novio. Tino hugs him but the look of fury in his eyes is only visible to us…

It seems Tino is finally learning the truth at long last. Facundo certainly looked guilty about the mask although I was convinced it was Guzmán. The writers still could be purposely misleading us. I translated as best I could, kindly fill in what I missed and/or correct what I got wrong. Thank you all…

Diana, you did a great job. You are right, Checo and Circe's conversation wasn't earth shattering. Just lovey dovey talk for the most part. Someone with a tattoo on his hand did take a photo of them while they were talking together outside.

Finally Fede has been outed, Emi disclosed everything. Fede did talk with a lawyer friend. She wants to hit aAde with a defamation lawsuit I think. Part of Fede's reign of terror included telling Emi she has a bomb in the chair and she would blow him up if he said anything.

I think the guy at Facundo's apartment building is a doorman. Tino was making a nuisance of himself trying to get information about Facundo. The doorman threatened to call the police, I think ,if he kept bothering him.

Las hijas, Capitulo 65
Part 1/2

This will be from memory, because I wasn't able to take any notes as I was watching.
Feel free to add whatever I might have forgotten, it was a good show!

Leo actually confronts Paula about her meddling with the tape and accuses her of causing all the troubles they're all in right now. Of course Paula disagrees. How could she not, since everything she does, she does for Leo. He almost makes me proud when he tells her that she's all about having it all, while removing all the other members of the family from the house. Who could have thought that Leo would be so perceptive?

Val runs into Nick in the lobby of their building. She sees his bags, he explains he is going away for a while. She thinks this is about the launch party fiasco and is worried the sports line will fall apart without him (oh, but that is a given!). He says it has nothing to do with the launch and he's leaving because he's trying to find new investors in Boston, where he has contacts that could help. She is sad to see him go, he has always been there for her.

Ofelia goes to confront Paula over sabotaging the launch and upseting Val. Of course Paula denies everything. They are interrupted by Leo before they really start to go at it.

Arturo is very nasty with Mar, he somehow figures that if both he and Nick are out of the house over the launch shenanigans it can only be her fault. She finally has the house all to herself. Mar denies it, of course, but geez, could Arturo be more unlikable than he already is?
They are interruped by a call that Art gets. Luis is in the hospital.

They leave the house in a hurry and run into Ofelia, who finds out about Luis also.
Back home she tells Val what happened and she calls Mar to ask about Luis.
Mar and the others are already at the hospital and are waiting for news from the doctors. Art asks to speak to Val and begs her to track down Nick, he wasn't able to reach him.

Nick is at the airport and is not answering any of his phone calls. Why don't people just send text messages then? "Dad is dying again. Where are you?"
Val jumps into a cab and goes to the airport. But there is traffic and she actually screams at the other drivers to move faster... and Nick is going through security and … well, a bit dramatic, but do I really care?

When she finally reaches the airport she is told that the flight to Boston has already left. She is very sad, Nick was the only one who was always kind and honest with her. And now he has to miss this latest family crisis. What to do what to do? Don't worry, with a bit of luck he might get back in time for the next one.
But it turns out that Nick had a change of heart at the last moment and didn't leave after all. He was going to, but he finally checked his messages and Arturo had sent him one about dad (oh, finally). So I guess he just left his gate or his plane, because this is something one can easily do in 2025.
Val is so happy to see him, she jumps into his arms. He gets the feels on his lovelorn face. They go to the hospital together.

Everyone is waiting for news about Luis. All worry aside, Camila still finds the time to be nasty to Mar and call her unworthy to be her father's wife.
When Val and Nick finally arrive Val tries to be supportive to her sister, but I think nastiness is a teachable offense, because Mar asks her to leave, she has Paula to keep her company.

The doctor tells the family that Luis is in a bad shape, but they don't really know what's wrong with him, because it doesn't seem to be about his heart. They need to run a few more tests.

 

Las hijas, Capitulo 65
Part 2/2

At home Ofelia is called several times by Rocio, but she no longer wants to be her ally, because Arturo treated Val terribly. Of course Rocio is not one to take things lightly, so I guess we're going to have to wait and see what she does next to impose her unwanted presence.

Susana is worried for Camila being worried for her father because that could worry the baby she's carrying.
Yeah, I got tired just typing that.

The doctor gets the results of the tests he asked for, but they are odd, so he asks the nurse to repeat them. When the results come back the same way, he tells the family (without Mar) that they found a large quantity of amphétamines in Luis' blood, and that's what caused his crisis. They are all shocked, their father would never abuse a médicine like this. Gotta be foulplay, am I right?

Later at home ever so helpful Paula acts all worried when telling Leo that she didn't think much of it at first, but the other day Lupita the maid told her that she saw Mar put some drops into Luis' food. Could this have something to do with his current condition?

Then several days pass - really, would this be the kind of news that Leo would keep to himself?
Val and Ofelia are very worried for Mar. Ofelia especially, she believes that Paula will destroy Mar, who is too innocent for her own good. She asks Val to keep an eye on her sister, Val thinks they should just let her be on her own for a while, see things for herself. I can't say I disagree.

So, as I was saying, several days have passed… three or thirty? Who knows? What we do know is that Mar finally has a baby bump and it's rather huge for someone who was wearing skin tight dresses just a minute ago. She still has her high heels, though, but she's a lady living in a manor, what else is she supposed to do?
Anyway, Paula tells her that the siblings are all in the living room and asked her to leave them alone. Mar won't have that, though, she suspects they are hiding something about Luis from her.
She storms in and Camila is as nasty as usual. And then the cops arrive and Mar is accused of wanting to kill Luis Portilla.
Oops! I hope they allow stilettos in jail.

You wry and insightful comments could not have been more perfect. Loved
"nastiness is a teachable offense" and " He gets the feels on his lovelorn face".

Things stalling in gear was rather strange as was Mar's metamorphois into full blown pregnancy. Mar not hearing about Luis' diagnosis beforehand, from the doctor himself was a bit over the top. Then again, they wouldn't have been able to have the entire family present to gloat and despise Mar as she is finally told AND arrested.

Who is going to come to Mar's aid?? Ofelia and Val are without money and connections. I'm already discounting Arturo. Will Val be able to convince Nick Mar is innocent? I will be interested to see how Juan (without means or influence) reacts. I don't believe he will abandon Mar.

Mar is off to jail so it's time to wear pregnancy clothes. Diana, I actually believe Luis, when he recovers, will come to her aid. At the least he will want to hear her story and he knows she is unfailingly honest.Also Val and O have Paula's number so hopefully they can help her case. Lupita may have a hint of conscience also, since she knows Paula is capable of dastardly deeds.

Arturo, worst boyfriend ever. Nick has to be the winner in the Val contest. At least they haven't slept together yet so no ick factor going on in her or his head about sharing a partner.

Kat, great point...Luis does know Mar "is unfailingly honest". Let's hope he regains consciousness and comes to Mar's defense.

Agree about Arturo. Loser. What Nick does next in terms of defending/decrying Mar will be crucial. He's a smart guy but needs to be more trusting and have faith.

I still think that the red lion mask that Scarlet found in Facundo's closet is a red herring . This guy is shallow , egotistical , Greedy ,and dimwitted ,but I don't think that he is full out evil like despicable, creepy Guzman . I think that Guzman was the abuser because we have seen how he is trying to seduce Chofis and how determined he has been to completely ruin Aide.

I am very disappointed with Chano becoming Fede's puppet .

I am relieved that Emi survived whatever Fede put into his IV. Will that ever be revealed ? I don't know how it could be unless she confesses at some point .

Wow, that was a pretty impressive fall that Cantu did . yikes. He has been through quite a lot in this show ..yelling, fuming , and falling. ??

Loved O pulling Paula's hair ...ha!!! Has the worm finally turned , and Leo has noticed what Paula is ?

That was a really weird dress (black fitted top and full white bottom) that Mar had on as she rushed down those outside stairs of death in heels as she raced to Art's car to go to the hospital. ( a what is up with those high, steep outside stairs in this show and also at Aide's house in " Papas?) These Mexican mansions look like Aztec temples .

It sure looks like Val and Nick are end game since they are always talking into each other's arms . Susan

This will likely be short. Watched it more than 12 hours ago so let's see what was earth shattering in the plot.

Cruel Karina tells Gaby that dad has a novia. It's Luci. Shed been being nice to you to get on dad's good side. So now gabi is mad at Dad and Luci and wants them to break up if they really love her. Chofis plants some seeds of forgiveness in her. She sure hopes she continues to come around, she's the best sous chef around and gallita will miss her.

Memo gives a jittery Adrien some tranquilizer drugs but tells him to take it easy on them, they are strong. He finds out from Adrien that Luci and Roberto are an item.

Susy tells Elena she thinks Omar is dating so.eone. he is secretive and acting strange, making calls secretively. Elena is ok about that. She goes to talk to him about it at the store. He describes his crush,the description fits Elena to a T, it's always been her. He still wishes she won't sell the apartment to pay off Daniel's medical bills.

Ines and Mariana bicker like the siblings they are. These 2 really look like sisters.

Francisco made an appearance but I forget what it was about. Probably the missing Fabiola.

Joaquin and Bertha continue their affair and plotting.

Victoria is dressed to the nines in a little black dress with her hair down. This is at the station. Joaquin, gobsmacked, sees her from behind, not realizing who it is, and hits on her. Looks like she is going undercover in the college scene, I think.

Now I remember why Francisco came to see Enrique. He accuses him of having an affair with Karina. Enrique says he went to see her about coming back to work with him. She knows about the accident, we need her back in the fold. Karina overheard, comes in, backs up the lie but says she still hasn't changed her mind.

Pato and Memo have a scene. Pato is video calling Paulina, his fiance about their wedding. Memo overhears it. Pato ends up comforting Memo who is in seventh heaven because his crush is hugging him.

Omar gives Susy a hard time about telling Elena his business. She asks why your strange behavior, what about the gun you keep here ( does she know it's missing). He confesses he killed the guy he thinks hit Tobi.

German and Omar had an earlier scene. He wonders when the police will disclose that the guy is dead. German warns him do not go back to the scene of the crime. I wondered if maybe the guy is alive, but I think German, Francisco and Enrique stashed his body somewhere.

Gaby and Roberto return to Karina's house. Enrique is there with Karina in the hall up close and in her face. Gaby has a flashback to the night of Mommy's boyfriend visit and recognizes Enrique as the guy and blurts it out to Roberto, Karina and Enrique.

Arturto doesn't really deserve a defense but technically he wasn't wrong about Mar. Mar did give Luis all those drops that change his personality and made him so aggressive where he basically couldn't stand the sight of his kids and kicked them all out! She may not have set out to intentionally turn Luis against them, but she DID do it....

I sort of feel torn on the Mar of it all. On the one hand she got lied to and played and Paula is the real bad guy.... on the other hand, how stupid do you have to be to NOT notice that your 'health' drops to relax your husband are turning him into the Hulk??? And she just kept upping the dose!!! I sort of feel like she almost deserves to be in jail for being stupid. It's like when Juan went to jail for kidnapping - sure you're innocent, but you're also too stupid to keep yourself out of that situation.


I was hating Cami less but she's bugging me more again. Taring into Val for being the victim of someone who clearly trying to humility her and declaring the Val ruined their family's event - was just ridiculous!! Now of course it's more of her being horrible to Mar.

Darcy, ha...jailed for stupidity . That would put a lot of people in jail.

In her intense hatred for Mar , Cami seems to have forgotten how much she has always hated Paula . I can't wait to see Paula's anvil. I vote for more hair pulling before the big anvil squashes Paula flat.

Where was Mar when the Dr announced Luis 's condition to the family ? I guess she was in the bathroom , and then nobody told her later.

I think that Juan and Mar will get their HEA at the end , so he will probably try to help her as will O and Val. Mar will eventually realize that tricky Paula, has been playing her like a piano. ..eventually.

How in the world did nasty Susana manage to get a sweet guy like Jacinto , who seems to truly love her and not notice what a vengeful harpy she is?

Memo is evil. Those pills he gave Adrien are going to make things worse.

The wine guzzling sisters are quite a pair .

Kat, the guy playing Francisco ( Alejandro Tomassi) is in " Alborado" He is about 20 years younger and plays a very good guy , the right hand man of the galan ( Fernando Colunga). He was great in that role .
Another great actor that you will recognize in " Alborado" is the guy playing Jason in "Papas." ( Ernesto Laguardia)' He plays the galan's best friend .

LOL, Susan, you're right jails would have an overcrowding issue if you people actually got jailed for being stupid, but I actually meant a part of me felt she deserved to be in jail for drugging Luis because she is stupid. Because she did actually drug him, which is a crime. She did it in ignorance, but she still did it. Unlike Juan who didn't even do what he was accused of doing, Mar actually did spend days (or weeks or months who knows with novela time) drugging her husband. She isn't even really innocent of the crime for which she's being accused, she's just a patsy! Yes, ultimately, Paula is the one who deserves to be punished and Mar is just dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb... but I'm just saying, I almost don't feel sorry for her. I bet if something like that happened IRL you would still find yourself in very big trouble and in very real danger of facing jail time as you were trying to convince the cops, judge and jury that you thought you were giving your rich hubby some harmless vitamins to help him reduce his stress! LOL

Totally agree that "Guzman is the epitome of evil" and that while Facundo is guilty of many things, I don't think he is guilty in this one instance.

Great question about whether or not anyone will find out Fed was responsible for Emi's coma. I hope so...

PAPAS #62 Part 1

Previously, Tino suffered a night of painful revelations. He (finally) learned of Fed’s torturous abuse of Emi.

After Scarlet dons THE mask (planning an innocent costume party), Uli has a gut-wrenching flashback, believing it is Facundo who assaulted him. This not only causes pain to Tino, but to Aidé in torment that her child’s father could be guilty of such a horrid crime.

Guzmán knows Clara Luz and Rudolf are hiding Pipe. Clara Luz and Rudolf are novios (again).

Chano cheats with Fed (again), Igor almost catching them in the act. Lichita sees Chofis with her new phone, leaving Chofis no choice but to confess Guzmán gave it to her.

As we begin, Tino hugs Emi after the child’s brave admission, the look of fury in his eyes visible only to us…

Tino, his heart breaking tries to contain himself and not upset Emi as he tries to understand what happened.

The other children are talking with Aidé as Fed has not fled but unbelievably has stayed, holding up the wall. Bertha and Augusto come in and take the children away. Fed starts in on Aidé but Tino calls her name and walks up to her, berating her for what she’s done.

Guzmán seems to tell Igor Clara Luz has Pipe. What is your plan Igor asks.

Fed starts defending herself but Aidé jumps in, calling Fed on her lies, calling her cruel. Tino takes up where Aidé ends.

Chofis is giving her mother lip about the phone but when Lichita asks her to give it to her she refuses. An angry argument ensues with Chofis seemingly backing down as Lichita stares.

At home, Scarlet starts crying as Circe tries to get her to calm down. Scarlet finally blurts out the truth. Bertha takes the blame as the children vent their outrage. Augusto comforts Bertha as she cries.

PAPAS #62 Part 2

Tino accuses Fed of causing so many problems, he thought she was noble. Aidé warns Fed that the consequences will be grave. You caused my son’s crisis Tino cries. “Leave” Tino says pointing to the door. Aidé echoes his sentiments as Fed finally shakes her head and runs out. Aidé melts into Tino’s arms. She cradles his face in her hands. Aidé comforts Tino as he takes responsibility for what happened; he calls himself an imbecile. Aidé tells him she knows he is not Emi’s biological father but is clearly moved by how much he loves his son. She puts her hand over Tino’s; he is mi hijo he (needlessly) explains. They discuss Paulina and Jason and the custody battle and the trip to the US. Aidé expresses confidence in Jason as Tino agonizes over the situation. Aidé is clearly moved and clutches her stomach. She leaves the room and yet another snake, Dámaso has slithered in. Aidé seems surprised to see him. He hugs her and tells her to be calm; they hug again just as Tino comes out. He sees them and leaves.

Paulina gets a text from Tino that Emi is out of his coma. “Thank God” she blurts out to Jason. Then, all of a sudden, she puts her hand to her head, supposedly in pain. She lies down on the sofa and encourages Jason to go. Alone. It’s important she says. As soon as he leaves she sits up with an evil expression, grabbing her phone.

Rudolf, Clara Luz and Pipe play and snack They fret about Guzmán.

Fed is on the phone when Circe marches in and starts yelling at Fed for what she did to Emi, calling her a horrendous person. When Fed goes back at her, Circe throws a pitcher of water all over Fed and her leather onsie. Fed yells for Chano, who sort of ushers her out with a sweeping arc of his arms.

Tino finds Jason at Emi’s bedside; he asks about Paulina. Emi is awake and in good spirits. I believe Tino tells Emi he might not accompany them. The most important thing is that you get better. Tino kisses Emi’s head as Aidé and Dámaso come in, Tino staring. Dámaso asks Emi how he is and Emi says he is fine. Tino is not overfly friendly.

Chano talks to Circe about respecting Fed (what a joke). “Pobre Checo” she insultingly yells at him. You go girl!

Lila cries on the phone to Paulina, telling her about Fed. Her not kind, caring mother calls her sweetie. The two later talk and Lila feels guilty. I wish I understood what they said but Paulina is really pouring it on. Jason comes out and Lila is clearly advocating for (and unknowingly) covering for Paulina.

Aidé and her children have breakfast. Did Circe say she knew Fed had been with Chano (?)

Clara Luz badmouths Guzmán to Lichita. Lichita takes out Chofis’ cellphone from a drawer and hands it to Clara Luz. Clara Luz seems to indicate it was not an appropriate gift. Clara Luz wants to be incognito, putting on a hat and sunglasses that does nothing to alter her appearance 😊

Paulina puts on a show at Emi’s beside as she and Tino discuss Fed. She reminds Tino Fed is his lawyer. Hopefully, she isn’t any longer.

PAPAS #62 Part 3 of 3

Uli talks with his mother who asks him if he is sure it was Facundo who attacked him.

The judge calls the trial to order, questioning Tino about having a new attorney. Jason says Paulina wants to address the court. She stands and starts in by saying something about Lila…Elsewhere, said Lila is in tears talking with Uli and Circe. Uli tells her Tino adores her. Naturally, Lila is beside herself about Emi.

Fed has Lichita in her office, signing papers to be given to Guzmán. I believe Lichita brings up the cellphone and Fed seems to say Guzmán is very generous.

Back to Paulina’s soliloquy which seems to be all about Lila. Tino then stands saying how important his children are. He then seems to advocate that Jason and Lila have custody.

We see El Calacas taking pictures of Checo. He comes into view and El Calacas waves the phone at Checo.

Guzmán and Lichita talk; she tells him she saw Clara Luz. I’m sure there was something else but I didn’t catch it.

Some man I don’t recall ever seeing before shows up at Aidé’s.

I believe the judge gives custody of Lila to Paulina and Jason. She is about to render a decision on Emi when we end…

This was fast and furious and almost impossible for me to try and keep up. There were quite a few instances when I wasn’t at all sure what was being said, hopefully I made it clear when that occurred. I tried my best to interpret and can only hope I got some of it right. The last few scenes went by in a blur. Thank you for your valuable input and help.

FYI I'll do this tomorrow. I got sucked into watching Alborado. Then I found the old recaps. Wow, the patio was huge in. 2011.I thought it was Saturday for some silly reason, even though we went to the bilingual good Friday mass today, then grocery shopping, then cooking a frozen cheese pizza for dinner. Day of fast and abstinence and I'm hungry so going to sleep to try and forget I'm hungry.

Thanks, Diana, for the two great recaps. I watched the shows back to back last night. I think Uli is saying it’s Facundo based on the mask, but there’s not really enough evidence to bring charges. Tino asked if he noticed the eyes or anything about the person behind the mask. The man Aide was talking to told her he and Facundo had swapped homes. I don’t know if it’s the same man you were talking about because Aide would have been in Facundo’s apartment to talk to the guy living there. So Facundo is in another country now. Which seems to say he’s guilty, which I find hard to believe. Maybe the writers are making him guilty to get him out of Scarlet’s life.

Guzman did mention to Igor about getting Pipe’s money, so the little kid has an inheritance that Guzman is after.

I’m so glad they now know the real Fed. But it looks like Lichita still trusts her. And Clara Luz wanted her to kind of spy on Guzman so that may backfire.

Chano is such a fool. I liked him at first and thought he and Lichita would get back together. I don’t think that will happen.

I also wonder if Damaso has an idea that Emi had a seizure and was in a coma. I think that would make him realize that Fed gave the stuff to Emi. The doctors need to see something off in his bloodwork to make everyone suspect Fed. I was hoping that would take care of Fed and Demaso but it seems they’re not going to check Emi’s blood. But didn’t Paulina know Fed was up to something?

Las hijas #66 part 1

Arrest her, Leo tells the police. She gave dad medicine to try to kill him. Mar says what are you talking about. The only thing I gave him was drops to help him relax, right Paula, tell them. Paula looks at her pitifully. Leo and Nick and Arturo have different expression their face, hopefully some of them doubt Paula.

Back at depo Val, O wants Val to try and contact Mar again. Val says it's pointless. Paula has her brainwashed. O knows she is behind everything, and Val concurs. Paula hates all of us and I fear what she plans next will be worse.

Juan sits on the steps outs the mansion. Susana calls wondering what is going on. He has no clue, Cami is inside with her brothers and there is a police car outside.

Well Paula spins her tale, I didn't take you to get relaxing drops for Luis, quit lying. Cami says take her away so she gets cuffed and dragged outside where Juan sees her.

Back inside, Arturo predictably decides Mar is guilty because she wants money, Nick not so sure, she cares for dad. How can you accuse the sister of the woman you love. Arturo says the two are different, that's why, and I swear she will pay if she did it.

Mar is put in the police car. Cami tells Juan to take her to the hospital, that despicable Mar drugged dad and tried to kill him.

Leo and Paula are also outside having witnessed Mar's departure. Paula says should we also go to the hospital. Leo says you and I need to talk. You are a witness and need to go to the police station to give your evidence. Everything you said is true, right? ( I hope he has seen the light and has his doubts about Paula).

Mar pleads her innocence to the police in the car who just wants her to shut up. Tell it to the judge.

Arturo calls Val, but she hangs up without answering. O says you should answer and talk to him, tell him it's over. I'm just s game to him, that type of man loves women falling at his feet, as the phone keeps ringing over and over. O likes her attitude.

Leo gets to the station and doesn't open the car door for Paula, which offends her. (I must live in a different universe, I can open my own doors, thank you very much, though I do accept help from my husband in closing the door when I am a passenger because my hip hurts and that is my bad side). As she catches up to him he tells her before we go in you need to tell me the truth. She sticks to her story.

Cami visits Luis. I need you dad, don't leave me.that woman tried to kill you, but you will get better, I know.

Leo still grills Paula. Mar is a liar. Then he asks about the picture. What picture. The one Señora Garcia said you destroyed. Oh she is a liar too. How can you believe them over your devoted wife? It's because you proved at the presentation what you are capable of. But I did it for you, my love. Leo is tired of that line. If I find out any of what the Garcia's say is true I lose all faith in you.

O drops her teacup and clutches her chest. She feels a tightness in her chest like she can't breathe. Val says we should see a Dr. ( True, these are heart attack symptoms, but it's likely the strong maternal link to Mar that has caused this episode). Val escorts her to her room. The doorbell buzzes.

Back in jail Mar is being interrogated. Why did you try to kill señor Portillo? She insists I only gave him drops to relax him. He is the only one who was good to me in that house, why would I want to kill him. Interrogator insists the only way to help herself is to confess.

And it is Nick (and Arturo) at the door, as expected. They need to talk to her. Dad is in the hospital. Val and this concerns me why? Arturo screams because your sister poisoned him. Now she is in jail.

Oh, we forgot about honest Hector. He tells Paula that Mar insists that she got the drops with you Paula. Paula keeps denying, the maids say her put the drops in his food too. Hector says if their isn't sufficient evidence against Mar they will investigate you.

Hi Diana, not following this one but I caught the ending,
I believe the judge granted custody of Emi to Tino, but ordered that Lila (assuming she is older?) should have counseling and should have a say in the decision.

I guess maybe Hector is there to represent Paula or Luis, not Mar. Paula admits she recommended natural oils to help, but nothing more.

Arturo continues to accuse Mar. She confessed, she is guilty. He gets kicked out. Nick leaves too

Mar gets out in a cell still maintaining her innocence. The female guard tells her you've been read your rights. Do you want your one call? Who should I call? The guard suggests a lawyer or family. Mar says I have no one. My mother and sister tried to warn me about Paula and I didn't believe them. It's just me and my baby now. The guard says, that's life.

Leo tells Hector to make sure Mar stays locked up the rest of her life.

O is praying to the Virgin to protect Mar. Val comes in and tells her what happened. They are off to the jail.

Leo tells Hector make sure it happens fast before dad recovers. Paula says and if he doesn't recover? What about the inheritance? Hector says something about the quickest way is for them to be divorced. But Mar has to agree to it. Leo will talk to her. ( Does anyone understand this reasoning?)

Juan, at the hospital, gets a call from Val. He doesn't answer. Cami comes away from Luis bedside. Dad won't wake up. It's all Mar's fault for poisoning him. Juan says are you sure, she isn't that type of person.

Leo and Paula arrive at the hospital with Paula holding his arm which he brushes off impatiently. (Yeah he is starting to doubt his wife.). Leo tells his brothers Mar isin jail and won't get out. Nick thinks they may be going to fast. Paula spews her lies which I don't feel like recording. Arturo is furious still with Mar and is in agreement. They walk away from Paula but Leo turns and stares at her in an unloving way.

O and Val arrive at the police station. Yes Mar is there. O needs to see her daughter, she is innocent. She tries to break through to get to Mar with Val on her heels.

Arturo does not want to talk with Nick about Mar. She is guilty in his book and that is that. Nick thinks it is very strange and he believes Mar. Looks like Nick will be Mar and Val's champion in the pursuit of truth and justice. And once again our supposed galan, Arturo leaves a bad taste in our mouth.

Leo stares at Paula. Why are you looking at me like that? He wants the truth. After what she did at the launch he doesn't trust her. More pleading innocence, I would never hurt your dad. I think she intends to pressure Mar into signing the divorce papers. Oh, BTW, now dad is out of commission it's time for you to go run the company, and also discover what is in his will ( I think).

Arturo visits dad. Mar dis this to you and I swear she will pay. I love you, get well.

Paula continues to pressure Leo to go take over the company.

O gets to see Mar in her cell Forgive me mama for not believing you. Of course I forgive you because you are my daughter. O also asks for forgiveness from Mar. No touching allowed the guard keeps reprimanding. Time to leave. Guards come to take Mar to another facility. O cries and falls to the floor in a faint after she is taken away.




 

Las hijas #66 part 3

Nick's turn to visit Dad. He is going to find out who did this to him. I think he also says he'll take care of everything in the company also.

O has been brought to the ER I think. They want to keep her a few hours to recover. Val says this is too much for you mom. I promise we'll be ok soon. O agrees, all 3 of us together again.

Leo's turn, it's night now. I'm sorry for what has happened. You have always been my idol, the smartest, strongest, etc . Paula is right, I need to go back to work at the company. You will recover. That awful woman will forfeit everything for what she did to you.

Wow, Mar really did pop overnight! In her prison tan dress she is escorted to her new digs, a cell with 4 other inmates it appears, who eyer her over.

O wants to talk to the Portillo's. Val reminds her they are the ones who sent her to jail . talking to them won't help. It's up to you and me.

Arturo is in the waiting area, when who turns up like a bad penny, but Rocio. She gazes at her 'son' longingly from afar.

Mar talks to her baby. Forgive me for ruining your life before you are even born. Forgive me for believing Paula's stories. A cellmate listens to her and gives her a blanket so she doesn't die of cold. Mar thanks her.

Luis (without his oxygen mask) sees the light... Cecilia. What is happening. I don't understand. She says, be calm, everything will be ok. He says I miss you so much. She says I'm always at your side. He says you see everything I've been trying to do for our kids. She agrees you have always been a good father. He says not since you left. I can't do it without you. Then come with me. Come my love....will he stay or will he go?

I was wondering who the young guy Aide was talking to was . hmmm..he and Facundo switched houses ???? I still think the writers are trying to trick us into thinking Fecundity abused Uli. I am sure it was demonic Guzman who seems capable of any dark deed. He killed his defenseless aunt .

I am trying to figure out what Dam is up to. At first ,i thought he was just a hippy dippy guy, but now I wonder what he is really up to after he conspired with Fed.

Am hoping that good hearted Jason drops Paulina like a hot potato when he finally realizes how cold hearted she is .

Yes, Paulina knows that Fed was tormenting Emi. Susan

Tino tells Fede he knows what she has done and to stay away from all his family.

A lot transpired in the talk between Aide and Tino. She also tells him he can trust Jason, not Paula. Emi will get the best treatment in the US. Tino needs to go with the kids. He can't be far away from them.

Aide tells Damaso she isn't sure if she is mad or scared. She fears Tino will be leaving with the children. That is when Damaso hugs her and tells her he will lead her through the darkness.

Rudolph doesn't think Clara should leave, she needs to stay here. I think she is planning to see Luchita.They keep saying you know who, which Pipe questions. They send him off to find Clara's phone. Rudolph tells her brother Cervantes has spoken to Guzman and you are the prime suspect.

In the previous section I posted too soon. Tino is going to bring charges against Fede for her mistreatment of Emi. Now Fede is talking on the phone with her lawyer, I believe. She gives him his full name, Constantino Guevara Barajas, which I forgot is Tino's name. I think she wants the lawyer to go after him.

Fede tries to say to Circe that Emi is lying. Circe doesn't believe her, know why. All the advice you have given me has been bad for me so I no longer believe you. Fede insults her ad a rich fool, oh wait a poor fool. That is why the water was thrown on her.

You are correct, Tino can't promise he can go with Emi to Seattle for treatment. He can't lie to his son.

Chano tells Circe she needs to respect her elders. She fills him in on what an awful person Fede is. She calls him a terrible father, poor Checo.

Jason promises to help Tino be close to Emi and Lila. I guess that means financially or visa wise?

Lila needs to tell mom in person about what Fede did . Paulina pulls the im sick routine but she's always there for her and Emi. When they meet in person Paulina blames Tino for bringing federal into her poor innocent children's lives. Lila feels guilty for not defending her little brother. Paulina says it's up to the adults to protect the children. Your grandmother is also guilty of not protecting Emi. I need you to vouch for me. Jason has been upset with me for a few days. She just wants Lila to be super sweet to mom. Jason comes in. ( I just realized they are in the waiting area at the hospital)Paulina pulls her trucks, I had to come see my dear Emi. Lila says even though mom feels so bad physically she had to come. Paulina winks at her.

Circe tells mom what she did to Fede. The kids celebrate. Aide says that's wrong no matter how mad you are. Circe says she regrets nothing, except she was pretty awful to Checo's dad.
Clara tells Luchita she needs to confront Guzman about the inappropriate gift. Luchita's motherly instincts are spot on.

Guzman is impressed with Luchita and now wants her to learn English, the company will pay for it.

Iker is an influencer. Aide has no clue who he is since she doesn't follow influencers I'm sure. He is from Spain. The two swapped apartments.

The judge gave costudy of Emi to Tino. Lila needs a psyche exam and she gets to decide with whom she lives. I think someone else clarified this but I'm sticking to answering your questions in replies to your comments.

Diana, that was a huge episode with so much to cover. You got so much of it, I'm glad I can hopefully fill in some holes in your understanding.

Susan, I do not have a good feeling about Damaso. He wants Aide. Has he always wanted her and is the twins father? If so, he sure took his time coming back into her life.

Kat, thank you for your always illuminating, perceptive and wise comments. I would think Spanish is your first language had you not already told us otherwise. Thank you for taking the time to provide these amazing translations.

"Tino is going to bring charges against Fede for her mistreatment of Emi" is so important. Good for him! I did realize Tino banished Fed from their lives but I reread what I wrote and didn't say it. :) So little time to cram it all in!

Paulina's lies to Lila were just despicable! Twisting her daughter around her little finger was abusive behavior. She does not deserve to be a mother.

I was so rattled when I tried to reconstruct what I wrote in a more coherent fashion, I'm embarrassed that I got it wrong. So it was Emi that Tino got custody of. (Thank you to Anonymous who also pointed this out). I hope Paulina's lies are revealed before Lila gives her input as to who she would prefer to be with.

Thank you Kat. I think the writers are giving a misdirection with Cecilia saying follow me. It's into the light, i.e. he survives. In my own writing of Luis' fate, I think he will wake up just as Paula is attempting to disconnect his life support system! She's a killer and will stop at nothing to assure Leo gets control of the company. Not sure who gets the babies of Juan. Cami may not successfully deliver; go more crazy than she already is and then get shipped off to Canada to join Prissy in rehab. If Cami and Mar both deliver live babies, Juan will need another job to support the kids.

Well Enrique and Karina convince Gaby they are only co workers. Karina continues to badmouth Luci. I'm no longer working for Enrique because I went to spend more time with you. Roberto calls Enrique on his lies as they both leave her house.

Bertha gives Joaquin permission to get into bed, literally, with Victoria. She has no clue she is sleeping with the enemy.

Fabiola has been seen on street cameras. Dad comes in and confirms it is her to Roberto and Luci. He is worried about her, especially missing her meds. Luci gives him her card.

Alex and Daniel talk. He's off to buy a crib for his nephew to be. This makes Alex sad. He thinks they need to talk about the kiss. He realizes she is in a relationship with Adrian and he needs to back off. I think she says her relationship is on the skids, then walks away upset. Clara sees her but she brushes on by. Clara asks why is my friend upset? She then offers herself as a girlfriend, which Daniel politely refused. I see you only as a friend. She suspects he likes Alex.

Adrien goes to see Alex at home. He knows she was talking to Daniel outside of class and he won't have it. She needs to stay away from him. You need to change schools. She says this is where my scholarship is. He says dad will get you a different one. She is mad. He grabs her arm roughly. She breaks up with him. She thinks he is only with her to save his hide. He swears it's not so. Mom arrives as he is trying to reason with her and overheard part of the conversation. After he leaves Alex explains about his jealousy and she can't take it anymore so she ended it. Then mom proves she is a shallow person by saying this is the future presidents son. You will never find a better catch. You need to make up.

Omar has told Susy all about the death of the guy. He's an assassin he says....

Pato goes to dad, he wants Memo to be his aid. Enrique says never. He is an incompetent slug who can't even graduate u. Pato seems surprised by his venom towards Memo.
Ines and Enrique discuss Mariana. More hints that Memo may be Enrique's son. They are disturbed by the maid. Bertha is here she tells them Fabiola has been seen on surveillance. She has her inside but monitoring the case. Enrique is so tired of having to fix everything. Next day in his office he tells German about the Fabiola sighting. He says I want to be alone. He starts listening to that soothing sonata on his phone, but then the phone rings. An old guy with oxygen and a nurse in attendance is on the line. Enrique tells him quit calling me for money. But son....click. Enrique hangs up. Another skeleton in his closet. I can't believe this hasn't been discovered by the press

Natalia and Chofis reassure Luci that hopefully Gaby will accept her sooner than later. Karina has fired her as babysitter, no surprise.

Adrien is losing it. He's drinking and taking those pills that Memo gave him in his room. He calls Luci. He really needs to talk to her. But she doesn't answer because she's sleeping. The next morning she rushes over to see him he is passed out on the bedroom floor

Memo and Pato are out eating breakfast. Pato says dad says no to your help. Memo says let me guess, he called me a good for nothing. I've only ever wanted to have him like me. Luci, not even his daughter, gets more love from him ( since Enrique is Memo's uncle by marriage the obsession he has with being liked by Enrique further drives my belief that he is really his son). Memo then tells him you asked me about me having a special someone. He clasps Pato's hand, you are that person. I love you. Pato is gobsmacked! ( This actor looks so much better with a not full beard like his character in Papas. ).

Diana thanks for the compliment on my Spanish comprehension. I do feel like I am making strides. If a word is new to me I try to look it up in the Spanish English app. I'm always pleased that what I thought it meant is correct.

My husband also thought yesterday was Saturday. Nour routine was that of a Sat. He worked a half day, we went to 4 p.m. Mass, typical Sat doings. We sing in our church choir so holy week is a marathon of services. Tonight, Easter vigil, is the big one. 15 catechumens are being brought into the church. Our priest is Colombian. Half the congregation is Hispanic, so the masses are bilingual. This, and the fact my daughter in law is also Colombian ( though grew up in Puerto Rico) have driven my desire to understand the language.

"I think Uli is saying it’s Facundo based on the mask" was always my thought Liz. I appreciate your noting Tino asked him about the eyes, that was a good question to ask Uli!

I didn't realize Facundo had left the country! That makes him look guilty but I still have my doubts.

"Chano is such a fool" is exactly right. I like the actor but not the character. I hope they don't get back together either; him being with Fed not once but twice squelched that. Lichita deserves better. Too bad because while he isn't the best father he does love his children.

"I also wonder if Damaso has an idea that Emi had a seizure and was in a coma" - good question! But if he does, I don't think he cares at all. He's in league with Fed and seems to have no conscience. Damaso's character wasn't given the chance to develop. We saw him at the party years ago but then nothing for 40 plus episodes. I would have liked to have seen a flashback from his perspective, but we might yet if indeed he is the twins' father as we suspect he is.

I'm still confused on the Facundo apartment switch (?) Maybe the writers just want him gone. I know I do :)

It will be interesting to see what unfolds regarding Dam...he is bad business and ice cold...

I also hope Jason dumps Paulina once everything comes out (and I think that it will). Paulina needs to be back on the streets, alone without a benefactor.

The best part for me was those suspicious looks that Leo kept shooting at Paula. Oh yes, he knows exactly what she is now. He doesn't want to know...but he knows! Paula, your puppet is finally pulling on his strings. yay.

Thank goodness for the honest lawyer. I think that he has Paula's number, too.

I think that Juan still loves Mar , suspects the bebe is his, and will be in Mar's corner.

Will Luis " go softly into that dark night " or will he return to help Mar? Luis has been grief stricken over losing his beloved wife, but I don't think that he will be written out of this story yet.

There is no way Art will end up with Val since he keeps thinking the worst if her . Nick is the galan of this tale. Art needs to grow up. Susan

Kat, a sensational job of an action laden episode.

"Then come with me. Come my love....will he stay or will he go?" What an ending! I can only venture to guess that Luis has to live otherwise, Mar will never be cleared.

"Leo is tired of that line. If I find out any of what the Garcia's say is true I lose all faith in you". While it was a relief to see a bit of light dawning in that thick head of his, he seems to be channeling all his anger toward Mar rather than Paulina, the true source of all the angst.

Darcy, I couldn't agree more that "what a disappointment is Art, the one character who has shown the most insight into who Paula truly is and he doesn’t even pause in his suspicion of Mar for a second to consider that maybe Paula?? " His behavior toward Val was unforgiveable. I think Mar and Juan are end game and I would be happy if that occurs. Speculation only but sadly, I think Camila will lose her baby...

I think Ofelia is changing and I have hope that she and her daughters will prove to have a loving relationship after all the dust clears. Hope springs eternal.

I also hope Luis survives, and as you say if he doesn't then Mar faces a murder charge. The person who said she is guilty because she was so dumb has a point though. The calming drops are making your husband blow up worse than before and you have no idea of cause and effect, dimwit Mar. So if he does die, Nick, and possibly Leo need to discover Paulina's part in the fate of Luis and then her ultimate anvil will be much worse. Does anyone remember if she was behind his kidnapping earlier? I can't remember.

I'm also in the Cami loses the baby camp. I have mostly liked O so I don't mind her redemption. Where is our faithful Amparo? I miss her.

Kat,I don't think that Paula had anything to do with Luis's kidnapping . The writers never gave us any indication of that. I guess it was random bad dudes.

It was interesting that Leo questioned Paula about the family portrait. Hmmm, he has been putting the pieces together . He doesn't seem to be under her spell as much as before. It seems that what she did at the fashion show started his suspicions . Keep going, Leo, you are waking up. Susan

I miss Amparo, too! She is so loyal and very calming, a perfect friend.

I agree it’s unlikely for both babies to be born, which means Cami must somehow lose her baby. Her hysterics might pose a risk. She does show moments of niceness at (very few) times, so maybe she will grow up yet.

I have been wondering about her MIL (Susanna, I think). She is very tolerant and loving toward Cami and everyone except Ofelia and family. She’s almost like two different people. In the beginning she would scream outrageously at Ofelia and family. Her behavior was similar to Cami’s, come to think of it. What on earth did Ofelia do to her in the past? I wonder if we will ever know.

I also am intrigued with Leo’s expressions and hope he is on to Paula. It would be fun if he leaves the dark side and helps his siblings.

Mar finally realizes she was manipulated by evil Paula. We need Luis to come back and save the day. It was funny to see Mar suddenly looking pregnant! Novelas can do miraculous things!

Arturo is such a jerk. He seemed to genuinely love N, but always was just one step from distrusting her again. I have been team Nic all along because I liked the actors romance in a previous novela. Maybe Nicolas will get the girl!

Not long now! I can’t wait for Paula’s anvil!

I saw promos for " Karsu," a Turkish dizi starring the leading lady from " Mujer." Looks like she is playing another devoted mother. I'm not sure if I saw the promos on Uni or Telemundo. Susan

Thanks Adriana and Kat, for the great recaps. Things have picked up speed! I thought it interesting that Arturo just jumps in so sure of Mar’s guilt. My thoughts went along with the rest of the patio, he and Val are history!

I’m not as sure as the rest of you about Leo. He does seem to be doubting Paula but I think he’s going to need proof. He’s still a fool, Paula is all about him being head of the company and in charge of the money. She’s the one that always gets him in trouble with Dad for telling him what he should do at the company. Trying to get Mar to sign divorce papers so she won’t get any money sounds ridiculous. But Leo seems to jump on board.

I’m counting on Hector to work more for Mar than for Paula and Leo. He pretty much knows what they’re after. If Luis lives I wonder how he’ll feel that for a second time the kids removed Mar from the house.

Nick will be the hero in this.

Someone asked where Mar was when the doctor came out with the news of the drugs in Luis’ body. I’m pretty sure she was in the chapel praying.

I think that the writers were also playing with us when they had Cecelia appear to Luis . We don't want Luis to die and have Mar accused of murder!

I wanted to share that I heard back from our much missed friend Doris.

Doris is fine, happily engaged with family and other activities. She sends a big HOLA to the patio and she wishes everyone well.

The bad: Art is proving to be a sorry excuse of a galan
The ugly: if Nick and Val are endgame is their lovestory supposed to last 5 episodes? The novela ends soon and she still hasn't shown any type of romantic feelings for him.

Perhaps the actual love story is Mar and Juan and Val is just a distraction. Of course towards the end one episode often jumps months or even a year forward so we'll see. It has 82 episodes I think.
