Babachita, after I posted my message to you, I realized that it was almost time for the Thursday Telemundo y Más page, and that you therefore might not see it. So I decided to post it here as well. Thanks very much for identifying the actor who plays the dress buyer as Roberto Escobar. I guess it's no wonder that he looked familiar to me--I've seen him in at least two of the novelas you cited, and perhaps all three.
Ana just can't stay away from Al, and vice versa .... So if Raul gets fired who becomes chief designer. Initially I thought maybe Ana would move up, but she so needs to get out of that place.
Poor Luisa. School cites her for tardiness in picking Michael up from school. This is a valid complaint though. She must have a back up babysitter as she seems to spend most of her evenings at the bar singing. Ramon sure is doing a job on her reputation. Too bad she never took photos of her bruises nor went to the police. A past DUI in a parking lot incident, sexy photos ( posted by Ramon), I guess if she loses custody they don't have to use the child actors much. Peter is off in Philadelphia and we only here from him via phone calls to Pedro.
Carla at least was savvy enough to get herself out of the photographers clutches. I enjoyed her threatening him with his '82 bottle of wine. At least the guy had an upscale seduction feast. I almost worried she would get drugged like Jenifer. Guess they didn't want to reuse that plot.
Silly scene with the spewing water in Blanca's apartment. I guess it was a way to get Max shirtless and set up her kissing him.
Enrique sure seems to be set on sabotaging the business. I looked up Gloria Trevi. She is a real latina rock singer born in '68. She was compared to Janis Joplin. So that white fru fru dress looked totally too young for her and likely out of character for her to wear. Did they just send her the belt to the dress and she is off to velvet to find the rest of it?
Isabel is being released. Looks like Gloria needs to watch her back. When she tells the guy if you say a lie often enough it becomes the truth....at least in her mind. I guess she isn't letting people know she is in NYC. Enrique spilling the beans to the paparazzi backfired. I thought Val would turn on him but she's ready for whatever he wants to give. Was that seduction scene before or after the Trevi revelation. I've forgotten. I watch this and Karsu simultaneously switching from one to the other during commercials so things get out of order in my memory.
There was more but I'll leave it to others to touch on the episode. I don't think we have a set Thursday recapper.
Second to last paragraph got out of order. I was elaborating on Enrique's sabotage and went back to add it to the paragraph about the dress and it got put in the Gloria needing to be careful paragraph. Anyhow, that's the downside to commenting from the phone and only seeing the first 5 lines of text without constantly scrolling down.

Kat in SC & Novelera: Missed out on last night's episode because I was distracted by Game 6 of the 2025 NBA Finals on ABC 12 KSAT-TV San Antonio.
I went through seven days with no internet connection. Then I needed to catch up. The recaps and comments were very helpful. Thank you all. I see novelera is having internet issues again. I empathize with her. I'll put up some notes on Thursday's Jefa and Velvet.
I don’t know who else is still following this mess, but here are a few notes from Thursday’s episode.
Gloria survives surgery but, of course, the next hours are critical.
Mau and Dario come to the hospital and speak with Yadira and Gael. Nacho, in disguise as a masked nurse, also comes to the hospital with some disguised men. Nacho eavesdrops on their convo and hears that Debora set up Gloria and shot her and used Mateo for bait. He wants Mateo found and killed right there in the hospital. He calls Duque and wants him to find Debora and bring her to him.
Nacho sneaks into Glo’s ICU room and we hear his usual craziness over her complete with flashbacks of her being nice to him when he was a young fruit seller.
Matilde enters the ICU and tells Nacho to leave Glo’s room. She gets him to leave by saying there’s DEA at the hospital and she doesn’t want any bloodshed. Do it for Gloria, she says.
Debora makes it back to Nacho’s house, packs a bag, and tells the guard she’s going on a business trip.
Miguel has turned into an aspiring thug. Laura is alarmed she doesn’t know how to handle him.
Dario and Alina get it on in a supply closet. Yuck. They are caught exiting the closet by Mau, Gael, and Yadira. Later, Dario confesses his feelings for Alina to Mau. Mau is pissed that Dario is risking the operation. Dario says Mau can take him off the case but he’s not giving up on Alina.
Fercho helps Mateo escape from the hospital. They go to Laura’s. Laura tells Mateo it’s too dangerous for him to stay there, especially since Miguel is there.
Duque finds Debora. Deb tells Duque that Yadira fooled him, she didn’t betray Gloria. Yadira needs to die before she rats on them.
Duque brings Deb to a warehouse. He stabs her and she dies. He asks Mono to take her to Pozolero and make sure he gets rid of every inch of Deb! Yikes! Stay away from that batch of pozole!
Dani is at the hospital, too. He wants to see his mom so he can say nice things to her like she did when he was in the hospital. Then she will feel better. He needs to look after her.
Matilde tells Erna that she found Nacho in Glo’s room. Erna realizes that Mateo was telling the truth about Nacho’s obsession with Gloria.
Luisa arrives at Gloria’s. She says she’s not staying for long, she’ll be staying at a hotel. She just wants to find out what’s going on. Violeta is there taking care of the baby. Luisa introduces herself. Violeta fills her in—Glo was shot and is in critical condition. Luisa looks stunned.
Gael and Yadira ask the doctor if Dani can see Gloria. The doc says it’s against the rules. Gael and Yadira explain and beg for an exception. The doc relents.
Dani goes to the ICU with Mati. He talks to Gloria. His tears fall. He asks her, do you know who the love of my life is? It’s you. I love you, mom.
And we are out.
Albert faints in his office in front of Ana. He’s wheeled out, unconscious, through the store! [Was there no other way out?] Cris arrives and rushes to Albert’s side.
Yes, Michael was with Ramon. Luisa warns Ramon but he warns her back. This is the second time she’s been careless with Michael. The kid is excited. He says he’s going to live with his Dad. Ramon informs her he’s going for custody and not even the best lawyer in the world will help her win.
Albert will be okay, it was just a panic attack. Cris and Mateo are with him when he wakes. He wants to leave, but Mateo says he should stay and rest. Cris says Mateo and Enrique will handle things at Velvet.
Marga and Clara’s mom and pop have reconciled. They are returning to Miami to restart the restaurant. Mom will teach Pop how to cook this time. Clara tells her fam about her photo shoot and becoming a model. She’s hedging her bets in case Velvet goes under.
Ana speaks with Marga. She needs her help. She wants to see Albert. She doesn’t know if Tio is telling her the truth about Albert’s panic attack.
Yep, Kat, it’s just like Mateo warned Clara. The photog hits on her and she threatens to hit him with that 1982 bottle of wine.
Ana sneaks into Albert’s room. Albert says try as they might, they can’t get rid of the feelings they have for one another. Even if we never get back together, he tells her, it will always matter. Give me your hand. I need to tell you something. He apologizes for everything he put her through. He wanted it all—to save his family, save Velvet, and keep her by his side. He didn’t realize how much he was hurting Ana. Worst of all, he made her give up her dreams. He asks for her forgiveness. Marga rushes in and warns the nurse is coming. The ladies leave.
Luisa visits the lawyer with Blanca. The lawyer says the case looks bad for her. She’s been late picking up the kid, a 10-year-old DUI after an accident, and Ramon uploaded some explicit pictures he took of Luisa years ago on a dating site that he created to frame her. The ladies bring up Ramon’s abuse. Unfortunately, Luisa never pressed charges.
Albert is back at Velvet. The store is shut down in anticipation of the top secret visit from Gloria Trevi. Valeria welcomes her with a hug. Gloria is impressed with Velvet. She loves Raul’s designs. He gushes all over her. She tells them she needs something unique to promote her new album, “El Vuelo”. She’s got a red carpet to walk. Raul introduces Gloria to Albert and Mateo. She hopes no one else knows of her visit. Premios Latinos brought her there incognito. No leaks. Valeria assures her.
Luisa fills Marga and Ana in on her situation. Marga says Luisa should report Ramon for the dating app.
Gloria tries on Tokyo Autumn. She feels like a princess [no comment.] Raul explains why he named the dress. Something about shedding fears like trees shedding leaves and starting something new. She loves the dress, but unfortunately, Gloria is informed that the paparazzi are outside. She needs to leave asap, sans dress.
If you want to see Gloria in action, here is a YouTube link to her performing her big hit, “Dr Psiquiatra”. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8PfSwK6bx4 It was mentioned in a previous episode.
Albert, Mateo, and Valeria wonder how the leak happened. [Isn’t it obvious?] Enrique enters the room and admits he did it. He thought everyone should know that Gloria Trevi was shopping at Velvet, even if she didn’t buy anything. Mateo says Gloria was going to wear that dress on a show. Valeria accuses Enrique of sabotage.
Enrique wants Albert to fire Raul. Albert refuses. Enrique threatens, either fire Raul or start laying off staff. Enrique is disgusting.
Cris has come to see Enrique at Velvet. She asks him for a favor. She wants her bro to create a position at the company that requires daily participation.
The Velvet Ladies plan a night out to support Luisa and give her an amp because she likes to sing. Ana and Marga offer to contribute a bigger share of the gift. Clara becomes suspicious and asks if the two have a side business. Pedro walks in before the ladies can answer. Marga asks him to buy something in Chinatown.
Enrique tries to discourage Cris. She just wants to be close to Albert. Enrique says he’s already keeping an eye on Albert. He adds that the Orteguis don’t chase others, others chase after them. Valeria interrupts the convo and Cris leaves. This gives Enrique the opportunity to boink Valeria on his desk.
Emilio addresses the troops. No one is to know that Gloria Trevi was in the store. Focus on the new collection.
Emilio gets good news from Isabel. Her sentence was commuted and she’s getting out! Emilio asks if he can help. Isabel says she’s coming to NY as soon as she can. She tells him Gloria is to blame for everything and she’s going to make her pay. Justice will prevail. Emilio looks worried.
Cut to Gloria and that guy at a restaurant. Glo says Isa can’t be released. Guy reminds her that Isa already served half her sentence and besides, she didn’t kill anyone. He asks Glo, does Isabel know you were behind this? She does. The guy says that Isa is Albert’s mother, she will come for you. Glo reminds him they’ve been lying about Isa’s death for 25 years.
Albert notes that shoppers are looking but not buying. Mateo says it might be time to listen to Enrique. This is a war with the Orteguis. Maybe you should let them win occasionally and get them off your back. It’s about what’s best for the company.
Cris arrives and Mateo leaves. Albert tells Cris that Enrique wants Raul fired. She looks surprised. She wants Raul to stay at Velvet, but if it’s not working out for the company… Albert is still reluctant to fire Raul.
Oliver the photog shows up at Velvet. He claims he’s not there for Clara. He just wants his paycheck. Oliver insults Clara. Mateo has been eavesdropping and intervenes—respect Clara! Mateo punches Oliver. He threatens to sue Mateo. Clara gives Ollie his check and he leaves.
Albert comes into the workshop while Ana is there alone, working on Cris’ wedding dress. He’s pulled a button off his shirt and asks Ana to sew it back on. She remembers that was his excuse for coming to see her. She sews it. He flirts and recalls their times in Miami. She reminds him he’s getting married in a few days. Cris walks in. She was looking for him. They’ll be late. He tells her about the button. She thanks Ana.
Blanca has a plumbing problem. The kitchen sink is spouting all over. Max comes to the rescue.
Pedro brings Luisa’s gift to the bar. He asks, where’s Clara? Marga replies, something came up. Pedro snarks, something with her boss and she has to stay late? Luisa is thrilled to receive her gift.
Mateo and Clara are at dinner. They talk about the photo session incident. Mateo warned her. She should listen when he gives advice. She replies, you’re such a big liar that I never know when to believe you. He says he’s always been honest with her. Clara asks him, what do you want out of this? He stutters, uh… well… to be friends. She immediately gets up from the table. He pulls her back and says, I miss you, Clara. She agrees to stay for a drink.
Luisa sings at the bar.
Blanca and Max have removed their wet clothes. They are face to face. They can’t take their eyes off each other. He tells her she can’t stay in the apartment without water and offers her dinner at his place. She can shower there, too. He tells her not to worry, he knows how to respect a woman. She refuses but it looks like she’s weakening. She asks him to leave. Is that what you want, he asks. She grabs him and kisses him, and they go at it.
And we are out!
Thanks VERY much, Kat, for getting us started with this helpful mini-cap. The out-of-order statements didn't trouble me, probably because I'm often uncertain what happened when, even though I'm watching only the one novela.
I can try to add a few more things that happened, or what I thought about them. And not in any order.
It never occurred to me that if Ramon gets custody of Michael, Telemundo can save money by not having to continue to use child actors. I suspect you're right...but, of course, it remains to be seen whether Ramon will actually get custody. Does Ramon even have a job? I wouldn't be surprised if he has a police record. Or perhaps that's just my wishful thinking. I guess we'll see.
Speaking of Luisa, I was quite impressed by her singing--both her voice and her graceful movements. I wouldn't be surprised if the actress playing Luisa does indeed also make money as a singer.
Arrgh...Cris asks Enrique to find her a position at Velvet. She says she wants to be close to Alberto (and probably keep an eye on his dealings with other women).
As for Enrique...no, I don't think I can say anything that won't pass the censors.
Valeria continues to drive me nuts. One minutes I really like her, and the next she sucks (thanks, K). For example, she rebuffs Enrique's advances and tells him "I'm not your puppet. I'm single. You're recently married." But when Enrique asks whether that's a problem, she seems to say it is, and then immediately the two of them are kissing passionately. Yuck!
Gloria says about Isabel, "We've been saying she's dead for 25 years. And if one says it often enough...." I took that to mean that Gloria is going to try to kill Isabel.
I was glad to see Blanca fight all her reservations, grab Max and kiss him. I confess, though, that at the same time I share some of Blanca's reservations.
OK, enough said. Or, given my last statement, perhaps too much said. :-)
Oops, I didn't see that dondi has done a 3-part recap of last night's episode until I had put up my remarks. Wow! I will now go back and read her recap.
But let me also correct one sentence in what I wrote above. In talking about Enrique, I should've said, "no, I don't think I can say anything that will pass the censors."
Wow! MANY thanks, dondi, for this stellar recap.
You've covered everything so well, there's very little I can add. I do wonder about the diagnosis of a panic attack. Actually, I know very little about panic attacks, but I didn't think they were as serious as what Alberto seemed to be experiencing. And when he fell to the floor, I think he may have hit his head, complicating matters further. Of course, I could be all wrong about panic attacks and about what happened to Alberto.
And YES, I definitely agree that Enrique is DISGUSTING. There are several nasty characters in Velvet, but I think he is by far the worst. At least, he bothers me more than even Gloria does.
My internet is back. The provider is very good and would have come sooner, but I had things scheduled for Wednesday AND Thursday so couldn't be home during the day until today, Friday. Not only is it fixed, but they also said my router was old and gave me a fancy new one.
I'm not normally so booked, but coincidentally the 18th was the whale watching trip (for two and I brought my oldest and dearest friend) my granddaughter gifted me for Christmas. It wasn't until June because that's when the whales are most active in the Monterey Bay. AND, months ago a buddy who's also a San Francisco Giants baseball fan invited me to a day game. Phil is in my Spanish class on Zoom, and we frequently show off our Giants gear to the rest of the class. He's a season ticket holder and married to someone else, so it's not a romance thing, just a buddy who loves learning Spanish and also loves baseball. He turns up his nose at telenovelas, though.
That's the one I fell behind on. At first I didn't think the DVR worked without internet. Then I saw it did. But I've gotten hooked on Karsu on Uni. And I'm also watching Vevet. La Jefa fell behind. I'll catch up this weekend.
Terrific recap, dondi. Boy did we miss you! Glad you're up and running as am I, as I said in an OT comment.
Luisa marrying deadbeat Ramon has to be the worst decision of her life. I was surprised he has some wealth in his family. He looks 100% street thug to me.
For a change I didn't figure out the photographer was going to try to bed Clara. It seems obvious in retrospect. I thought he might have been a reasonable alternative to Womanizer Mateo.
I am enjoying the Blanca/Max attraction. Good on her for not pushing him away. It might not last, but it will surely be fun!
I was familiar with Gloria Trevi's music, but I don't think I ever saw her in person.
That's gotta be the dumbest kid in NYC if he's excited about going to live with Ramon. Kids are not that dense. He'd have been somewhat aware of the abuse going on.
I kinda stopped disliking Alberto when he apologized so fervently to Ana for "wanting to have it all". Now I wonder if they might end up together in the end. I was certain they would not. If the marriage doesn't happen for some reason, then they could be together at the end.
Sheesh! Alberto is marrying Cristina in a couple of weeks, and she still wants to spy on him, err work at Velvet?
I would really hate the Enrique/Valeria hookup a lot more if he weren't cheating on the snotty Barbie.
I think Clara should run from Mateo. Once a womanizer.... They might fall in love and be faithful for quite a while, but once boredom with the loved one sets it...
Yes, Enrique has quite the punchable face. I saw him not long ago in a Uni novela, Vivir de Amor, where he was also a nasty piece of work. He does have gorgeous eyes. There's a Spanish dicho that kind of suits him: de tal palo, tal astilla. It literally means: that splinter comes from that tree trunk or piece of wood; i.e., chip off the old block. I find Gerardo Otegui to be a bully.
