This episode seemed very choppy. I bet it was cut up a lot, but I don’t have the time to sit through the VIX version with its interminable ads and no ability to fast forward to fund out. There’s one scene that definitely looked cut – the one at the beginning when Reha stops by at Attila and Lale’s and she sees him to the door, then turns to say something to Attila and then chop!
I don’t get what’s the deal with Deliver. Why do they think he’s maybe betraying them? I had assumed that he and Cedvet were being paid by Hassan to guard Attila, so if Deliver was driving Hasan around now that he’s out, well, that doesn’t seem like a betrayal. Have I got it wrong? Atilla at one point refers to la demanda de mi padre. What demanda? Cedvet meantime is sweet being so concerned about Karsu’s shoulder, and even seems to know the vertebrae numbers. Can you really be seen by a doctor the same day in Turkey?
Atilla sure is good at jumping rope! He’s also good at giving advice to Omer, not to go into a life of crime just to get the attention of a woman. He could end up in jail. Find a woman who loves you for you.
Look at Reha get all weak-kneed when he claps eyes on the beautiful Selvi!
I wonder what Adnan will say to Filiz. And wasn’t Tia Turkan wonderful? I loved her reaction when Filiz told her the news.
Yazmín Lost at Sea, Lost in Life
As Fabián chats with Erika about her plan to give ceviche away after mass so the locals will not be afraid to eat fish. Nemesio interrupts. Oliver took Yazmín out for a boat ride and he left without the radio and he has only half a container of gas. They have been gone for a while.
On the boat, Jazmín is frustrated not being able to get back. It has been TWO hours. Oliver tells her not to worry. It won't be long and they will come for them. She is afraid. He holds her.
At the same time, Estrella is at the family dinner from hell with Sergio. Sergio cannot compliment her enough on what she did for her family. "Always helpful" Brisa asks her if she is planning on staying or moving back to Mexico City since the debt has been paid. Estrella says she talked to her daughter (uh, why does a little bratty kid get a say?) and they realized that "for now" they are going to stay put. Estrella's family and Fabián are her life now. Azul checks that her father is going to be around for her. He says of course! Fabián calls and Estrella and her sisters soon are part of the search for Yazmín and Oliver. Meche and Gonzalo pray for their safe return.
At the restaurant, Erika tells Sergio that a little bird told her that Estrella accepted his offer to pay off her debt. She must have been grateful to him. He says yes, but she isn't showing it. She has no plans to return to Mexico City since her life is here now with her "great love Fabián." They agree they have to come up with something to break those two up for good. Erika thinks that Fabián is like Estrella. They would do ANYTHING for their children. They would make ANY sacrifice. What if their children didn't approve of their relationships?
The search is on and the teenagers are found rather quickly.
Fabián hugs his daughter. That warm and fuzzy feeling doesn't last long when Fabián tells his daughter how upset he is with her for going out without the necessary equipment: radio and enough gasoline. She wants to brush it off as "an accident." He won't let it go that easily. As long she she lives under his roof, it is by his rules. She goes to her room. Still missing her mother like she does every day, she takes a pill to tame the pain. She shows up with her luggage at Erika's asking for a room to stay in. Erika is happy!!! to help her out.
Fabián tells his Estrella about his struggles with his daughter. He thinks he got so angry with her because it was as if he were going through the same thing he had gone through with his wife. His wife Laura was trapped in the car after the accident and it was on fire. She was begging him to save their daughter and he was trying to do the impossible: save both of them. In the end he couldn't save his wife. The car was in flames. He got his unconscious daughter out. He was going as fast as he could but when he got back to get Laura, the car exploded in front of his eyes. He could not do a thing. That is how he felt yesterday. He had such an enormous fear of losing his daughter or of finding her when it was too late. Estella tells him but that didn't happen . She is safe.
Gabriel Faces the Music
A very upset Iker tells his father about a nightmare where his mother was hidden in the fog and he (Gabriel) was fighting a gigantor sea monster. Iker was shouting for his father because he couldn't see him but he didn't answer him. Gabriel tries to calm him down.
Brisa shows up at Gabriel's again determined to get him to run away with her. In the meantime, Víctor calls to let Gabriel know he has been arrested. He hears Brisa's voice in the background and says he knows she is the one who turned him in. Brisa looks guilty. He informs Gabriel that his lawyer told him that to avoid jail time, he had to tell the truth and he did. Gabriel says he can't do this to him. His son will end up in an orphanage. Víctor says he is doing him a favor by letting him known they are coming for him. Bossy Brisa tells Gabriel to get packed up NOW because she is going to go pack and then will come by to pick him up. They are leaving town!
Gabriel has other plans. Iker shows up at Marina's saying that his father told him to go to her place and that she should call him. Marina takes his phone and calls a desperate Gabriel. He wants her to hide Iker until he can get out and get custody of him. She seems reluctant to agree to that and ends up saying that she will do all she can to protect Iker . He tells Iker, his little bucaneer, to pay attention to what Marina tells him. He loves him but he needs to go.
Gabriel is arrested for the falsification of documents and theft of a child. He refuses to tell them where Iker is. The police put out an order to search for the child.
Brisa shows up with her luggage only to see Gabriel being put in the police car. She goes crazy as it drives away running after it. Gonzalo and Fabián see the police car and her in tears. they ask what is going on.
Perla + Pascual + Valentín: Comic Relief?
Valentín says all that he can to convince Pascual that he is not in love with his Perlita after Pascual accuses him of being a Judas! Valentín insists he only sees her as a friend and as a sister. Considering all that, Pascual asks why then did Perla fall in love with him? Valentín admits he has something wrong with him: he is irresistible. Pascual wonders where that puts him.He can't compete! Perla will never love him like he loves her even if he were to give her the sun and the moon.
The next morning, Perla comes by with bags of food to make a nice breakfast for Pascual and a stuffed dolphin. When she arrives, he is in the shower and Valentín lets her in. He pours her a cup of hot coffee and he spills it all over her top. As she is trying to get the hot top away from he skin, he bumps into her, he falls, she falls on top of him and they look like they are going to kiss. Pascual comes out from the shower wrapped in a towel and thinks the worse. Perla tries to convince him that she is not interested in Valentín and that she bought all the food and stuffed dolphin for him but he isn't quite convinced. She loses her appetite and leaves.
Excellent as always Jarifa. You captured all of the action so skillfully.
Karma comes back to bite beyotch Brisa as she cries, chasing after the police car, frantically calling out for Gabriel. Silly, stupid gril thinking they could just "run away." What pain and havoc she has wrought.
Iker's nightmare was strangely and sadly prophetic.
How and where on earth is Marina going to hide Iker?? Certainly not at Erika's whose Sauron eye sees everything everywhere all at once. Who can she turn to to help her and what in heaven's name is she going to tell Iker? What a tragedy.
"Yazmín Lost at Sea, Lost in Life" was perfect. Their reconciliation was very short lived. Fabian's lecture was deserved but I might have waited until the next day when her trauma had subsided a bit. Yet another denizen finds sanctuary at Erika's.
Fabian's recounting of the accident was heartbreaking. I am not looking forward to sickening Sergio and Erika's teaming up to break up Fabian and Estella.
Pascual has more than a clue. How many times can he act like an ostrich and bury his head in the sand??? Cute plush toys aside, he needs to wake up and accept what "the worst" which is the gospel truth! :)
Thank you Jarifa for the marvelous summary.
Diana
Maggie, thanks for getting things started.
Atila is not supposed to know Hassan has been released from prison. Hassan told Dilaver not to tell him. Dilaver has been making up excuses about “shipments” when he goes off to chauffeur Hassan.
Yes, Tia Turkan’s reaction was a hoot!
Maggie, Anonymous filled you in about Dilaver. There is an outstanding case against Hassan which is why he was in detention. It has been dismissed due to lack of evidence I believe.
Selvi certainly was scantily dressed. No wonder Reha couldn't take his eyes off of her. I bet Adnan sent her on purpose. Maybe he wants to rescue Hande from her relationship with him.
Too bad Atilla didn't organize health insurance for Karsu while he was at it. Her life would be easier.
Feliz is definitely in a dilemma on how to let Irmak know about Adnan's infidelity.
Hassan is definitely interested in her. You can tell he admires her feistiness.
I didn’t realize Dilaver wasn’t supposed to let Attila know he was out. Poor Dilaver – he has to do what Hassan says and now Atilla and Cedvet think he’s maybe a traitor.
Kat – interesting idea that Adnan sent a sexy siren so that Kande will get out of her relationship with Reha. Right now, I don’t think she’d consider that being rescued, but long run, definitely the best thing for her.
Thanks Jarifa, that was excellent. I hated to see Gabriela arrested but what did Brisa expect. I wonder if she’ll feel guilty that it’s her fault. She’ll probably blame him for not being willing to run away.
Erica and Sergio mean double trouble for Fabian and Estrella. I wonder if Erica will bow out when, or if, she learns of Sergio’s plans for the town’s livelihood.
I know Oliver should have checked the boat for extra gas and the radio but didn’t wonder if Sergio had anything to do with the necessary things not being there.
Pearls needs to pull away from Pascual and Valentin. She has no feelings for Pascual and Valentin isn’t man enough to put her first.
I guess Yazmin is now on team Erika. I had hope for her but if she does Erika’s bidding she’s deliberately hurting her dad. Which is what she’s been doing for most of the show. She needs to read up on car accidents, they’re called that for a reason.
I wonder if Iker will be the one to put 2&2 together when he learns he was found after a hurricane.
Liz
I feel sorry for Feliz. What a position to be in. Especially with Irmak in a high risk pregnancy. But I’m really disappointed in Adnan. Although I guess he never was especially moral. That may be why he likes the obnoxious Reha, who is ogling a future business partner. Meanwhile he doesn’t treat Hande too well and wants to win Karsu back. I think here if you don’t pay child support you don’t see your kids. Unless your ex wants you too.
I really liked Tia Turkan’s reaction. She seems to be the calm sensible one. I wonder if anyone else is wondering about her daughter’s boyfriend. It seems strange we’ve never seen him or even heard his name.
How long before Hassan realizes Cedvet is the “owner of the bookstore and Karsu gets a very high salary!
Liz
I wonder if Gabriel in his panic realized that he was asking Marina to commit a crime by hiding Iker. Maybe that is why Marina did't agree to hide him but to "protect him" any way she could.
Thanks, Liz. "Pearls needs to pull away from Pascual and Valentin. She has no feelings for Pascual and Valentin isn’t man enough to put her first." That would be the logical thing to do. Neither man is attractive in a variety of ways. Losers' circle if you ask me. Loved: "She needs to read up on car accidents, they’re called that for a reason."There seems to be a reluctance to give accidents their due these days.
Diana, yes: "Iker's nightmare was strangely and sadly prophetic." I felt most sorry for him because he could be destroyed if he finds out the truth by anyone but Gabriel. "Fabian's recounting of the accident was heartbreaking." I was glad that the viewer now knows exactly what happened. Yazmín needs to be told that her mother directed her father to save her first not that he wouldn't have done that on is own any way.
Try as I might I just can't seem to get myself to stay focused on the whole episode and I keep missing things. I know there's a lot going on that I missing... Alba noticed some sort of mark on the Padre in last night's ep which her father had, as did at least one or two others - which seems to indicate some long-ago secret no one wants to talk about, I caught on to that, though I have no idea what that was about.
What I'm wondering though, is what secret are abuela and the doctor keeping? I assume they are lying about something to do with her medical condition, but what exactly? Did I miss it? Or did they not show/tell it? Can anyone tell me?
Thanks!
Liz we did see a short scene with The boyfriend. He parked outside the entrance to the housing estate in a no parking area. It was a red sports car. Omer told him he had to move it. Boyfriend copped an attitude, put a tip in Omer's pocket and treated him like a valet, you park it and there better not be a scratch on it when I get it back kind of vibes. This brought on Omer's heart to heart with Atilla later where he complained that girls are only interested in rich guys.
Maggie, are your CC's coming up as Kande? Mine uses Hande, and I'm pretty sure that is the name used in the cast page for the show. Just an observation, I know who you are referring to.
Darcy, I guess I'm not enough of a Colungo fan to stick this one out. His yelling at Alba, the ridiculous plot, the horrible sister are turning me off. Add to that it's the 10 p.m. show and it makes it doubtful I'll stick with it. I didn't love the actress playing the evil sister when she was the protagonist in Amor Amargo so she is no draw. If I'm bored and the temperatures continue to soar this weekend perhaps I'll catch up with it and I can help make sense of the senseless.
I can hardly wait for the confab between Filiz and Adnan. By the way, it's Filiz, not Feliz. Since that's the Spanish word for happy, it hardly suits most of her life. Pretty sure she's going to keep quiet about catching him with another woman. But maybe it will be revealed in another way.
This whole Atilla/Lale marriage is getting on my last nerve. And Atilla has to pretend to be a doting husband for his MIL, who's pretty crabby. And, furthermore, the MIL didn't stand up for Karsu that much. I believe a lot of Reha's rotten, entitled behavior can be traced to her parenting. If this is meant to be comedy, it doesn't work for me. Was that a solid gold watch she gave Atilla?
I keep waiting for Hassan to meet Karsu. He keeps saying he'll drop by the bookstore. I'd like him to see her decency and realize rejecting her because she has three children was a BIG mistake.
Thanks Kat, you jogged my memory and I do remember that now. So a rich guy who’s not nice to the help. I wonder how he’ll eventually figure into this story!
Liz
Darcy, I keep on saying I am not going to watch any more of this but binge watched this week’s episodes today. The pair of moles the padre has under his collar bone matches those of Alba’s brother and father. Alma reminds him that he once told her that he fell hopelessly in love with a woman. She asks if that woman was Covadonga. He says his life was very different before he took his vows.. She asks Covadonga if she knows about the moles. She denies knowing what is under the padre’s shirt. She starts to cough. Time for him to go.
The doctor put in the catheter to make things more realistic because he evidently didn’t do the supposed surgery everyone expected. Alba wanted to see the incision that wasn’t there. Covadonga said she could keep up the charade without the catheter but the doctor insisted.
Thank you Jarifa!!
Interesting! So, the padre having the same moles as Alba's brother could indicate that they were related, which would seem to be Alba's train of thought in asking if Covadonga was the woman that the Padre was in love with, but if Alba's father has the same moles too... it makes less sense that the connection would be through a love affair with Covadonga since it would indicate Alba's father and the padre might be somehow related themselves, right?
There's a background mystery brewing here...
So, Covadonga faked her surgery, that's what I figured but I wasn't sure. I need to pay more attention to this! Thanks again for clearing it up!
Helping Gabriel Protect His Son
Fabián organizes all of the main characters to make sure that Iker is kept hidden from the police. Fabián is going to have his lawyer represent Gabriel. Gabriel tells Fabián how he found Iker after the hurricane but never could find his parents so he kept him. Fabián can support that. Gabriel asks that Fabián help hide Iker so he doesn't end up a ward of the state in an orphanage. He is going to have a hearing soon and will either be released or in custody until his trial.
Iker is Found
Jealous Brisa thinks that Marina is only involved to look good like a hero in Gabriel's eyes. Marina escapes with Iker from the police search at Erika's inn only to be nabbed by Matilde out on the street who is talking to Valentín. He asks her if she would ignore finding Iker if he were to give their relationship another chance. We didn't see her response.
Oliver is Put on Notice
Gonzalo comes to talk to Yazmín about coming back home. She isn't interested but will think about it because he is asking her. Yazmín and Oliver think that he doesn't know that Oliver is there hiding under her bed but he puts 2 + 2 together when he hears Oliver's phone rings. After he leaves, he confronts Oliver and tells him he is not to go romancing his granddaughter. He wants him to stay away from her by at least 10 meters. He laughs when Oliver is out of sight. He sees them chatting later. Oliver turns down Yazmín on every attempt to get together. After she leaves, Gonzalo tells Oliver he isn't keeping the proper distance from his granddaughter and if he doesn't: he draws his finger across his throat. Oliver is out of there.
Sergio Launches His Plan
Sergio surprises Estrella and Azul by taking them to a house that he has decided to rent in their town. There is even a room for Azul. Estrella is fit to be tied because her daughter has a room already. Azul is overjoyed as she runs to see her new room. Sergio doesnt't understand her attitude because Azul needs a place to stay when she comes to visit him. Estrella makes it clear that she is the only one who will be deciding what her daughter does and where she stays. Later, he tells Estrella that he is falling in love with her again and he wants another chance to win her heart so they can become a family. Estrella laughs in his face saying that will never happen again in this life. She felt humiliated and disposable while he just walked away. She would not get back with him if he were the last man on earth. She will always be available to talk about their daughter but that is all. Little does she know but Azul has heard it all. She blames Fabián. Her father is a good man. Why wouldn't she want a family with him?
Estrella tells her mother that Sergio was doing exactly what she knew he would do: pressure her. She is upset by Azul's reaction. Meche explains that Azul is a little girl and it will take a good amount of time for her to sort it all out. She also says that since Sergio is Azul's father, Estrella has to realize that he has rights to Azul, also. Meche thinks Estrella is going to need a lot of patience to deal with it all.
The Same Old Same Old
Pascual apologizes to Perla. She admits that she was offended. The problem is that what he feel for her, he has never felt for any woman. He wants to make it up to her. She smiles.
Jarifa, thank you for your fantastic summary.
One of the many reasons I am enjoying this is the relative speed at which the various plot lines move along. Despite Fabian's quick and well organized plan to keep Iker hidden, he is discovered in rather record time. Of course staying at Erika's was hiding in plain sight so it would have been surprsing if he had been able to elude capture. While Matilde has a soft spot for Valentin, she seems to be by the book. If she were to let Iker go, where would he stay? The idyllic little seaside town seems to offer few places to hide. I hope I'm wrong.
Oliver can't catch a break. Even if his cell phone hadn't gotten off, the second Gonzalo saw his cap on Yaz's dresser the jig was up. "Gonzalo tells Oliver he isn't keeping the proper distance from his granddaughter and if he doesn't: he draws his finger across his throat" had me smiling away.
Perhaps it's just me but Estrella often seems to take time to respond to Sergio and by her expressionless stare, I'm sometimes surprised at what she says. I did love her scathing "she would not get back with him if he were the last man on earth". Pow! His anger and fist clenching said it all. She needs to remember Azul is the child and she is the parent. Azul cannot and should not dictate anything about Estrella's relationship with Sergio.
I'm transfixed by the men's ever changing hair coloring and styling. Gabriel's springy curls seem to denote a hair cut. He seems to be the only male whose hair is fairly light in color.
Pascual seems to have gotten back into Perla's good graces. Shame.
Jarifa, I am enjoying this so much but your recaps enlighten and enhance all the events extraordinarily well. Thank you!
Diana
So much fun stuff in this episode! I was surprised at Lale guessing that Attila was interested in Karsu. Didn’t she know? I thought she did. Well, she hasn’t been around to see what all goes on, and she probably doesn’t give any credence to the ravings of Reha.
Lale sure struck out trying to get Attila to come share a bed with her. And he sure doesn’t want to be nice to her mother. It was great when they were all at dinner in a restaurant and Atilla pushed the question of Reha and Kande getting married. He was having fun!
The meeting between Filiz and Adnan was great. It was noticeable that this time when he said Irmak was the love of his life Filiz didn’t wince. Here he is telling his abandoned ex-wife that he had a random lady in his bed because he was lonely. Filiz must have gotten a clearer picture of what kind of guy he is, which I’m sure is helpful for her state of mind. And she saved his bacon when Irmak showed up.
Wasn’t it fun to see Hassan asking for all that information about Filiz? That’s what I love about this show – the characters aren’t just black or white. And I love the grace notes of humor. Also, there’s Filiz’s assistant (Omar?), not long after Attila told him not to get mixed up with the mafia for money, caving in to exactly that, though he may not know that the actual mafia is the source of the money he pocketed.
Maggie, Filiz coming up with a party to explain her meeting with Adnan was priceless. Later, when Adnan and Irmak discuss it he asks who she wants at it and she says family. I don't think she has many friends. Adnan thinks Reha should be included. Irmak agrees as long as he doesn't ruffle Karsu's feathers at it. I guess Adnan thinks he has Reha under control. Let's see how that goes for him.
I think Hassan is going to replace the destroyed flowering branches and send them to Filiz. I hope he isn't too bad a bad guy, I want Filiz to be feliza....
Merk is just a ray of sunshine. Will he be partnered with someone in the end. He is going to provide the music for the fiesta free of charge. He does agree that Irmak (Adnan) can pay his band if they want. He covered his gaffs about knowing Atilla pretty well, especially as Karsu is so gullible.
Lake was so obvious pretending to hear noises and being afraid. The sexy negligee was a dead give away. If she had been worried someone was breaking in I'd grab the ugliest bathrobe I could find...
Thanks so much Jarifa, I always enjoy your notes from the couch.
I don’t see Matilde risking her job to help Iker. She seems to be very serious in her police work. I’m hoping that at the trial Marina might suddenly get a connection between the destroyed house they went to and Iker being found after a hurricane.
I think Azul is the only one blind to the real Sergio. With all her eavesdropping eventually she’ll hear something to make her realize he’s just using them. I was happy Estrella let him know he hasn’t a chance but I’m afraid now he’ll bring his lawyer into this. Azul gets brattier each episode.
I’m enjoying Gonzalo and Oliver! But not so much our love triangle with Perla and the guys. I want to call them boys, they certainly don’t act like men.
I’m looking forward to Gabriela in court. I hope it goes in his favor. And I wish he’d discover that Brisa’s the one that turned Victor in. Also, I was surprised she sent the message to Marina when the police were heading her way. I was sure she’d blow Iker’s cover.
Liz
This was a good episode. I loved Reha being put on the spot by Attila. Both Hande and his mom jump on him and Tilsin is upset asking if they’re getting married. Then the woman from Adnan’s company shows up and he kind of brushes Hande off as family, not his significant other. I wonder if Atilla really got stuck with the bill. It seems he did. Refs is such a cheapstake!
It would be fun to see Filiz in a little romance with Hassan. I love how all the characters get involved with each other.
This was a fun episode except for the real reason for the meeting of Filiz and Adnan. I liked how she put it on him and he has to leave her out of it.
Liz
I’m behind on this show and most of these characters are too far away from reality to be believable. I’m recording it so I can watch it when I want, but it might be one I never finished! Does anyone know how many episodes this show is? It used to be easy to find something like that out, but not lately.
Liz
Luz, I'm also recording it but I'm with you on the over the top characters. 80 episodes is a lot of time to devote to something so over the top, and the lack of interest and recapping makes it unlikely I'll stick with it. I'm slogging through Soltero con Hijas in the daytime slot. It's rather farcickle but I tend to catch up with it on the weekends. I've decided there are other shows more worthy of my time. ( I've become a convert to the Dizis so quite a few of them to watch in my spare time. I keep hoping I get burned out from watching TV and getting back into sewing and crafting instead. I try to do both at the same time but since I rely a lot on captions that was not successful.)
What a fun episode. It’s entertaining to watch Hasan eyeing Filiz and planning to “meet” her! That would be a union of two powerful personalities!
Mert with freedom is indeed a sunny personality! The actor makes me smile!
Atilla is getting gleeful satisfaction as he thwarts Lale and Reha as often as possible. I agree he may have gotten stuck with the bill!
I might be mistaken, but I thought MIL seemed to be warming a bit toward Atilla.
Karzu is starting to catch on. She already recognized Cevdet and she caught Mert mentioning Atilla here! Just a matter of time.
Babachita
It was certainly fun watching Reha under fire about marrying Hande. Pretty sure Reha's mother IS warming up to Atilla. Who wouldn't? And, yes, he's completely onto Lale's attempts to move their relationship along. I applauded when he evaded that "my mother would be shocked if she found you on the couch" move. Pretty sure it was last night when he outright said everything was her fault for telling Reha about the mafia connection.
Filiz told Adnan she wasn't there to talk about their past, the sense of it being that she's over it. But she flat out told him that, after the baby is born (or sure to be safely carried to term, not sure which), either he tells Irmak about his roll in the hay or she does.
I used to like Dilaver. No more. Wasn't there another older man who watched over Atilla and had to stop for some reason? I sort of remember him being the one behind burning down Reha's factory. At least we got one of those well-known dizi flashbacks in which we learn that Atilla knows Dilaver is all in for Hassan and not so much for Atilla himself.
Whether Atilla paid the bill was, I believe, left up in the air, but he got a sharp rebuke from his mother, who reminded him he invited them all to dinner, he was clearly the host and the one to get the bill.
On YouTube, there are some dizis with English dubbing available. One that comes to mind is Kara Para Ask (Black Money Love). It’s a great story! If you search for “Kara Para Ask English dubbing”, you might find it. The voices are different from Turkish and Spanish, and Omer’s is a whiny, nasal voice :( but you could do stuff and just listen without having to watch CC.
Just fyi.
Babachita
I watched " Kara Para Ask" on Netflix a few years ago on Dondi's recommendation . Loved it. Great story . Great galan . Great cast . Susan
Kat, if you're watching dizis I highly recommend Que Culpa Tiene Fatmagual - it's on Vix, the free one I believe. It's not in English but in Spanish. That is one of my favorite shows I have ever seen in any language; it's a serious drama and not a light or airy subject matter at all. Seriously well done that. Fantastic writing, acting, storytelling, scenery... the whole thing, it's a beautiful story.
Diana and Liz, thank you for your comments. They always give me more to think about.
Diana, I need to get my eyes off my notebook and onto the screen. "I'm transfixed by the men's ever changing hair coloring and styling. Gabriel's springy curls seem to denote a hair cut. He seems to be the only male whose hair is fairly light in color." Tracking color and styles might give some insight into what order these scenes were filmed. I wonder if they bothered to think about that.
Liz, "I’m enjoying Gonzalo and Oliver! But not so much our love triangle with Perla and the guys. I want to call them boys, they certainly don’t act like men." It is so funny because Gonzalo seems to know exactly what Oliver is planning and scheming even before Oliver knows himself. As for Perla and the "boys": I said it was a "yawn" before, can I make that a "double yawn"?
Wow! Fatmagul is riveting. I found the old recaps! Up to episode 6. ViX is showing it without commercials. Wonder why. Thanks again
The old recaps of Fatmagul are wonderful Kat! Just an FYI The show was recapped twice and both sets of recaps are linked in the same index. The first time around in 2015-2016, I believe they did weekly recaps, and the discussions were really fun and I definitely recommend reading them but also, look up in the index to the 2021-2022 pages. Fatmagul was broadcast again on Unimas Dondi recapped it then, she wrote very detailed daily recaps of every episode! Her work was AMAZING! You'll really enjoy it!
Jarifa, my thought is that they are experimenting with Sergio's "luke". Whether they found a color/style they like or if they will continue trying different things remains to be seen. :) He has good hair and although I've always had a soft spot for a silver fox, he looks good with it a bit darker as well. 😊
Liz, I like Gonzalo and Oliver's relationship as well! The only problem Oliver has had in being a bit too persistent but Gonzalo will surely keep things in check. At least for a while.
I really like Ramses who plays Valentin. For (mostly) that reason, I'm trying to be patient as the threesome sort things out.

I'm a big fan of Latino USA and its long-time creator, Maria Hinojosa. The July 20 episode of this podcast has an interesting title: "What our Favorite Telenovela Villains Tell us about Human Evolution". Maria made some kind of a deal recently for better funding. This results in more commercials than before. But the episode about telenovelas is interesting.
