Sorry if this is a little rough. I missed most of the show last week and tried to keep up with the recaps, so thanks all, but it might take a minute to get back to everything going on.
.
Starts with Gloria being a big jerkwad to Isabel until a nurse and Cristina interrupt and tell her to stop. She doesn’t until Cris grabs her and pulls her out of the room while Isa faints.
.
Mateo enters Al’s office and asks if he’s worried about the collection, but no. He’s thinking about life, marrying a women he doesn’t love, that he can’t make happy, etc. Also he can’t stop thinking about Ana so it’s still all about him.
.
Back to Gloria who is looking for ice for her drink. She finally takes it neat while Cris follows her around. The nurse tells her to leave Isa along but Glroia won’t be told what to do in her own house. She does warn Cris about, I think, Isabel. Cris doesn’t look convinced.

Blanca is at a bar with Esteban and Sofia. Sofia has headphones around her neck and looks bored while Esteban and Blanca talk.
.
Marga and Luisa talk about Carlos. Marga tells Lu that Rodrigo found Kathy’s family and that Marga is going with him to meet them. Marga isn’t sure if she can trust Carlos or Rodrigo. They both look concerned.

Ana has a surprise for Emilio. It’s a suit! Not the best surprise ever, but she wants him at the fashion show in something other than his work clothes. Which is a suit. Maybe I got the surprise suit wrong and it’s a special kind of suit? Or was the “suit” actually khakis? Armor?

Mateo warns Clara against his brother, saying he’s a liar. Also he wants her to go to the show that night as his girlfriend and doowop music plays in the background which seems like an odd theme choice for these two.

Raul is showing his mom around the atelier, where she knows he always wanted to work, and they talk about happy memories, until he brings his father into the memory. She mentions that Raul’s dad found a tumor but not to worry. It’s benign. But it got papa thinking about things and he may come around, according to mama. Raul is quite moved when he and mom hug. She is very happy for him.

Esteban shows Sofia around Velvet and she asks why he isn’t in a photo hanging on the wall. He starts to give an answer that I miss, but gets a call that interrupts them, so Ric goes up to her to “explain” that the pic is of the familia Marquez. She doesn’t tell him who she is, just a tourist who lives in London (and speaks Spanish) and he’s there “shopping”. He offers to show her around NYC. But he has to leave and while gone, Esteban comes back to his daughter and they go upstairs.

Blanca shows them both the atelier (that I thought was downstairs so not sure where Esteban and Sofia went first) and Raul’s designs. Sofia has never been in an atelier before and seems impressed, and then Ric enters. He’s surprised and asks why she’s there. Marga explains that she’s a Marquez. Sofia realizes he works there but her response to him is “Gotcha” so she may be not so bad. She’s in the sucks list purgatory until we get more intel on her.

Gloria argues with Al about Isabel again. Gloria tries to convince Al that she’s manipulative and looks to Cris for help. Cris waves her off and she continues her campaign against Isabel to Alberto. She finally leaves after telling Al “cuidado”.

Emilio is with Isabel and she’s awake again and doing better. They talk about Ben and how much he loved her, etc. She tells him she came for her son but being with him feels so right. He wants to stay there with her this night but she insists that he do to the desfile to be with Ana. And they kiss! Pretty sure this will be the best part of tonight.
.
Al tells Cris that he knows she let Gloria in and did nothing when Gloria went after Isabel and he is not happy. She argues back and doesn’t like that Isa is there, what people will think. He wants her support and she is happy to give it but she also chooses this time to talk about the lack of love life (sex) and this Will.Not.Do. He thinks this is not the time for this discussion. He leaves but she is not happy with him and also has her own drink in hand the whole time so will she be going the way of Gloria?

Marga fills the girls (Ana, Luisa, Clara) in on Pedro getting married to Susan because of the loan. And she has finally done the sensible thing and background checked Susan through social media! She finds a pic of Susan’s ex, Tonio, and shows it to everyone. Then she shows them a pic of a boy, who they think is Peter. But nope! It’s Tonio as a child. Dun dun DUN! Not sure why she didn’t do this weeks ago but good job, Marga.

And now Cris is at the bar drinking with Barbie. Barbie, being right for a change, calls Gloria a scorpion and tells Cris not to trust her. Cris rants about Isabel and wants her old life back. Not sure if she’s getting worse or is just drunk, but she’s not in a good mood.

Isabel and Alberto talk. She recognizes that he’s not happy but he says he is being with her. She says life is hard because we make the wrong decisions. She tells him he can’t be happy if he doesn’t love his wife, and that he loves Ana. Life without love isn’t a life, she tells him.
.
Glroia whines about everything to Valeria and wants Val to defend her madre. Val isn’t interested. Gloria tells Val that she is going to lose the only person in the world who loves her because Al thinks nothing of her. Gloria being her usual self but Val isn’t buying this and threatens to have her involuntarily committed to detox. Ice cold Val is better than whiney Val.

Al doesn’t know what to do about Cristina and Isa reminds him about divorce. She encourages him to talk to Cris and go to Ana before it’s too late. (I hope Cris doesn’t find out about this conversation).

Rodrigo is at work and finds out by email that he’s been fired. Security or someone comes out right away with his stuff to escort him out and isn’t polite about it. Rodrigo can’t believe it.
.
SHOWTIME! As Raul says. He’s nervous. Ana is all dressed up and talks to Al about Isabel. He tells her that Isa gave him some advice that they can talk about later, but he’s giving Ana googly eyes.

Rodrigo has come to see Carlos, or yell at him really, at Carlos’s office about getting him fired. Seems Carlos or “someone” planted pervy photos on Rod’s computer? Rodrigo has his own photo that he threatens to send to the family of Kathy and to Ana. Carlos calmly has him kicked out, but we all know that “calm” is way scarier than “overwrought”. Rodrigo really should have kept quiet about Kathy. We might not get a chance to fix him up with someone who isn’t Ana.

Al talks to the crowd at Raul’s show about this being a new era for Velvet and the show starts. There are lots more people here than at the first show and the dresses are slightly less weird, except for Barbie’s. Her dress is very weird, especially for someone who must be a few months pregnant by now? The crowd seems happier about the collection this time. I’m still not sure but most my clothes come from REI so what do I know. Raul comes out with Blanca and Marga on his arms. He talks about how important this collection is for him, for his career, and also because his parents are there. The collection will be on every corner of New York and the world. Marga bounces around the stage with joy.

Later Marga sees Susan and confronts her about the photo of Tonio, who Susan says is her past. Then she mentions Peter. Susan wants to know why she cares and something about giving Peter a good father. Whatever it was she said, she says it as Pedro enters behind her and he hears and does not loo happy. Cara de whoops de Susan.

Susan talks to Pedro. She says she didn’t tell him about Tonio and she lies that it was because she didn’t want him to doubt that Peter was his. And he finally FINALLY asks for a dna test. She admits that Peter is not his and cries (crocodile tears I think) that she was desperate. She says Peter is better than ever and tells Pedro that he’s Peter’s hero even though they don’t share blood. She leaves Pedro stunned.

Rodrigo gets home. Someone has torn his place apart and instead of leaving immediately to call for help like you’re supposed to, he enters and looks around the apartment. Carlos (naturally) comes behind him holding a gun on him and says they have a little pending business.

Bahar

I caught up on all the episodes I missed last week! Now I’m back on track. This was a fun episode. I was wondering when the suegra went out to lunch with her friends – how does she have any friends? She’s completely unbearable. I don’t blame the housekeeper for quitting.

I’m enjoying the rich guy’s storyline. And I wonder if Bahar will persuade the handcuffed lady to try treatment. I’m betting she’ll defend her right to refuse.

Maggie, glad you caught up. Hope you had a fun visit with your niece (or was that someone else?).

Poor Asiz Uras is really looking for a father figure in his life. Evren? (I'm watching 3 Dizis currently and the names aren't sticking) is filling the position nicely.Bahar called Timur out on his treatment of his son. I wonder which field of medicine AU really wants to specialize in. Or is he like his sister, secretly wishing for a different career.

I really loved the gift Bahar gave her suegra. A scholarship for a needy student in her foundation she is always spouting about.

So the rich guy while in his half dead state saw his nephew wishing him dead. Glad to see he put him in his place. Bahar may become his beneficiary. Loved how he realized the 2 bickering biddies were consuegras.

So Bahar originally had her surgery at a different hospital in the city. Is the hospital Timur works at the only teaching hospital in town? Life for son and mother would be so much easier if they were at a different hospital. But then we wouldn't have all the drama and comedy of them trying to keep up the ruse.

Did you think Timur really was complimenting Bahar's hairstyle because he liked it or does he have an agenda?

I'm still confused about what is going on between Rengin and her husband, or ex husband. I'm not sure what he is. And why is Parla not speaking to her dad? Cagla goes on a blind date and it's Rengin's ex. Do I have to go back to when he and Rengin had their dinner meeting a few episodes back and then threatened her, or does someone understand what is going on. Either it hasn't really been explained or I dozed through some scenes. Since it is the late show that is totally possible.

K, thanks. Is part 2 missing? I haven't watched the episode yet but you said 1 of 3 and 3 of 3 but there is no 2 of 3. I loved your purgatory classification.

K., I'm afraid part 2 of 3 is missing. Alerted by Kat's comment, I went to look for it. I found three parts, but they were all the same--they had parts 1 and 3, but not part 2. I'm a little confused. Usually when I go to look for a missing comment, I see each part separately, but today all three showed the entire page, with everyone's comments, including parts 1 and 3 of yours. If you still have a copy of just part 2 of 3, you might try posting it again. It will probably be out of place, but at least it will be there.

I often laugh watching this dizi, which is nice! I get the feeling that Timur surprises himself when he is attracted to Bahar. Her irrepressible good nature would be fun and she’s more confident now.

I didn’t recognize the blind date as Rengin’s ex. Maybe that was a coincidence if she used an online dating service. It was a dud of a date. What a jerk!

The gift to her suegra was wonderful! And, I loved that her patient realized the two moms were consuegras from their behavior! He is quite a character!

I watch this last (after Karsu and Velvet) because it is usually fun, making it a nice way to finish the evening! Colorful Bahar makes me smile!

Babachita, I didn't actually recognize him, but when Rengin was talking on the phone to Salim (I think that is his name) in practically the next scene the date has the same name. Which makes me think he and Rengin aren't actually married. Though lying on a dating site isn't unheard of.

I like that this makes me laugh also. Karsu does at times also. I'm definitely more a fan of the lighthearted fare (except I'm obsessed with Fatmagül which is anything but light-hearted). I have to get up at 6 a.m. so I usually skip Velvet now as the sound is messed up anyhow, and catch it the next day.

OT the ViX Fatmagül doesn't have any commercials on the free version. I'm so happy about that. I'm trying to rush through it in case it gets removed from the line up. Over 160 episodes. I'm also happy to report the cut scenes that dondi would recap are in this version. Such a relief I'm getting the whole thing, though dondi's recaps are such good reading I feel I could just read it like a novel. I hardly ever watched TV until recently. I always preferred reading, so reading CC's and recaps fulfills that preference for me.

Thanks VERY much, K., for this excellent recap. You cover just about everything important with wonderful style and humor. Before I say more, I want to say how surprised and delighted I was to see that section 2 of 3 has been found and restored. I can't imagine how that happened; all I know is that I tried and totally failed.

I think you predicted correctly that the kiss between Isa and Emilio would be the best part of the episode.

I liked your description of Cris: "not sure if she's getting worse or is just drunk...." With her, it's often hard to tell.

And yes, "Ice cold Val is better than whiney Val."

Loved "Cara de whoops de Susan."

You buy your clothes at REI, and I buy mine at LLBean, so probably neither of us is the intended audience for the designs featured in Velvet's show. I liked the new ones a bit better than the previous show's offerings, but I still kept trying to imagine who I knew that would wear them. I came up empty.

Like you, I kept expecting/hoping that Rodrigo would make a quick exit from his apartment and send for the police. Yeah, right. The best face I could put on his staying is that he suspected it was Carlos who had broken in, and Carlos's wealth and contacts made him almost untouchable, so there was no point in going to the police. But frankly, I think what we're seeing is much more likely to be sheer macho pride. I'm scheduled to do tonight's recap. I'm not feeling optimistic about it.
