Papas. #41. Part 1

Melena is looking thru pictures of Tino’s family on social media. She’s found their grand secret. Then we’re at today, where Aide plans to call Urbano to tell him she won’t work with Melina. Melina tells her if she does she has to pay back all the money and will be in debt again.

Rudolf is yelling at Nazario about how he was in the street where.Nazario told him to be when Gibron was killed. He might have accused Nazario’s because Nazario told him he needed proof. Clara Luz tells Nazario that Rudolf is upset because he spent that time in jail.

Gisela is telling Hernan how she’s going to be a big help to her daughter and grandkids. Hernan says with Tino gone he can’t stay. He asks Gisela to ask Aide if he can stay.

Aide talks to Urbano. Melina laughs and tells her to accept they’ll be working together. Aide says she’ll call Tino. Melina wonders if Tino would help Aide or Melina.

Tino has a job interview. The woman is not impressed that he’s only worked at Maximax and Maxiclick but wants an executive position.

Clara Luz tells Rudolf he has to stop saying things to Nazario. Prisma gave birth to the twins and they can lose them both if Rudolf can’t control himself

Paulina is talking to the lawyer in charge of Jason’s estate. She could be in charge of it as long as he is a minor. Emi would have to give his consent for her to control his money. She texts Lila.

Melina is still telling Aide she has to work with her. If not she’ll tell the grand secret, which is the reason Lila broke off with the whole family.

Scarlet poises and speaks as a friend records her. Someone wrote a bunch of nasty things on her blog and she’s losing followers. She peers over at Emi.

Melina says they work together and get along or she reveals the secret of why Lila left. Aide is worried about Tino either finding out, or being the victim, along with Aide. Melina seems to say she has plans for Tino to be with her, but I’m not sure.

Poor Tino, he blew another interview, this time he’s to blame!

Melina tells Aide her family was already in pieces when she arrived. She’ll expect an answer on her position tomorrow. Clara Luz and Rudolf come in and wonder why she’s crying. She says it’s nothing, just working through some details with Urbina.

Gisela accuses Melina of stealing her jewelry to pay for her fashions. Melina tells her she doesn’t need the help of her stuff to make herself look beautiful. Nazario texts in a panic because he’s worried Rudolf knows what he did. Melina tells him to calm down.

Rudolf and Clara Luz are telling Aide about Nazario’s and they think he should be fired. Prisma comes in and says Nazario’s needs to work from home today. Rudolf helps her get his stuff together. Aide tells Clara Luz about Melina being Urbino’s representative and how she’ll have to fave her every day.

Papas #41 part 2

Scarlet is feeling sad because she doesn’t share her room with Circe and feels lonely. Gisela offers to help her fix her room. When Scarlet sees she’s losing more followers Fisela says they’ll make a video and she’ll help her get more followers

Tino sees a man hugging his kids. He pictures him hugging all his kids. He sends a group chat that he’ll always be there for them, keep in contact, 24/7. Circe sends a heart.

Scarlet and Gisela are making a video together, dancing, laughing and dressing the dog. Afterwards people write, “ doesn’t she have any friends to do videos with. She doesn’t know what to do.

Emi tells I’ll about the group chat they have, Papa por Siempre. Bill thinks it’s a good idea but right now Aide needs him. He wonders if Bill wants him to leave. But Bill says he loves having him, they’ll talk more later.

Cheno tells the kids they all need to wash the dishes. They don’t jump up. Chofis is texting Poncho. Then Poncho’s friend texts him, everyone’s talking about him not being a virgin. He takes his phone and runs to another room. Edith texts Chofis wanting help from Checo. She gives him his umber and she texts him.

Paulina has a surprise foe Emi. It’s Lila. They hug.

Gisela and Hernan ask if Hernan can stay. Aide says yes, but it’s temporary.

Lila and Emi are talking. She doesn’t hate her dad but he’s a liar. He wonders if she can help them get back together. She refers to it as the “perfect marriage sarcastically. Paulina comes in with Bill and tells her he’s opening a cafeteria and they need experienced helpers, like her.

Rudolf tells Nazario he’s late with the plans for the cafeteria. He says he sent them in, he calls Aide Miss Exaggeration. Rudolf says he should respect his boss. Nazario wants an apology from Rudolf. He tells Rudolf what to say. Then says with his pardon under one arm and his laptop under the other he’ll go to his office. Clara Luz and Prisma both look on in disgust m

Someone famous comes in the gym. Heno says she’s a client. She tells Sarena she’s there because of her videos and wants to make a video together!

Lila says Paulina goes from the worst mother to offering her a job..Bill says it was his idea, she’s experienced and confident. They training is tomorrow, she says she’s busy. He says think about it.

Karina wonders if Sarena has a manager, she’ll need one! Cheno wonders for what career. He’s told as an influencer. Cheno tells her no.

Papas #41 part 3

Paulina is talking to Bill about them being a family with the two kids. He uses Emi as an excuse to go. And he goes to Aide.’s. He’s there for her and will listen. She talks about having to see Melina everyday. He knows she can do it.

Scarlet goes to see Emi. Paulina gives her the creeps, Emi agrees. She wants Emi to help her get her followers up. She has a crazy plan about a trip, but they don’t go anywhere. And Emi has to rescue her.

Prisma is apologizing for Nazario. She says he says things but he has a good heart. Natalie comes running in. Pipe is having a seizure!

Scarlet is doing the cough challenge. It can cause hallucinations and getting drunk. Emi watching one on his phone where the girl passes out. Scarlet gets up weaving and walks up the stairs to the roof. Emi calls for help.

Prensa calls azario. He is out walking and says there’s nothing to worry about. She calls Rudolf. The doctor comes out. Pipe overdosed on the medicine. Clara Luz says she gave the exact dose as the doctor prescribed. The doctor needs that doctor’s name as he has to call family services.

Rino is banging on the door as Emi is crawling up the stairs to the roof. Scarlet is spinning near the edge. Emi is yelling No at her and falls down the stairs. Scarlet passes out and Emi is unconscious.

Bill and Aide are having tea. Gisela comes in thrilled to see him. He says he came to invite Aide to the opening of his cafeteria. She and the kids are invited too. She mentions how he’d be so good for her daughter. Then she starts saying she can’t find Scarlet and goes looking for her. Aide apologizes for her mom but he tells Aide her mom is right, he’s feeling deep feelings for her.

Thank you for the fantastic recap Liz.

It was very hard to watch Scarlet ingesting that crud and her subsequent reactions and even harder to see Emi trying to crawl up the stairs. For a few moments, I really did think Scarlet might fall off the edge. Paulina should not have left them alone. "Emi tells I’ll about the group chat they have, Papa por Siempre. Bill thinks it’s a good idea but right now Aide needs him". Huh? Bill needs to stop running after Aide like a besotted teen.

I don't think I knew Prisma gave birth to the twins.

Good luck with Cheno telling Serena she can't be an influencer! Did he not see how excited she was?

"Melina is still telling Aide she has to work with her. If not she’ll tell the grand secret, which is the reason Lila broke off with the whole family". I readily admit I am chomping at the bit to find out what the deep, dark secret is.

MONTEVERDE #31, Part 1

What are your intentions toward Sister Celeste Andres asks Oscar? “Me gusta” Oscar stutters. Andres warns him off until Carolina calls him inside. A cute scene where Oscar and Carolina both put six fingers up indicating they will meet at 6:00, both smiling broadly.

Angelina tells her mother she is a married woman but Gloria is not impressed. “I am alone” Gloria whines getting weepy. My marriage is very important Angelina retorts; Juan David is my marido. Oh no, just then Manuel comes out in a white T shirt and checked boxers. Angelina is shocked as Manuel scurries back in the bedroom. Gloria tries to explain but Angelina says “por favor” practically rolling her eyes. Gloria throws in her face that they lied to her about Juan David being a millionaire. Another unresolved confrontation as Angelina flounces out and Gloria looks miserable.

Lucia and Rosalia are outside when Franco and Julieta drive up. Julieta pretends to faint and Franco picks her up as Julieta flashes a smirk in Lucia’s direction as Lucia and Rosalia stare, mouths agape. Lucia marches off to talk to them.

Gloria lambastes Manuel but he doesn’t see what the problem is: they are engaged! He wants to get married but Gloria says it’s an important decision. He pleads and then turns on the charm with some profound kisses and flattery that has Gloria preening away.

Julieta is in bed as she thanks Franco. He leaves (without kissing her I note). Lucia is waiting for Franco outside. “Mi amor” he starts. She tries to pin him down about the phone call but naturally he doesn’t know what she is talking about. She charges into Julieta’s room and accuses Julieta of lying but when Franco checks his phone there is no message. She angrily leaves as Franco glares at Julieta; Julieta cackles as the door shuts. Franco runs after Lucia; they argue, he says Julieta is alone. She asks him about Julieta’s doctor and says she is supposed to be three months pregnant. They finally end up hugging. He kisses her but there is no doubt their waters are troubled.

Eva talks with Father Gabriel about Julieta. She has a feeling the baby might not be Franco’s; Father Gabriel (having heard Lucas’s confession), looks very uncomfortable.

Franco is in a bad mood but he’s not alone. It’s contagious as an angry Lucas argues with Nestor…

Oscar congratulates Cárcamo and asks who he is engaged to; the answer is Doris. Oscar says this is the second engagement and I think he invites him to have the wedding there.

Hugo arrives and gives Lucas a cool drink and a torta. Seeing his mood, Hugo asks what’s wrong. Lucas doesn’t want company and shrugs his hand off his shoulder. Then he changes his mind, confiding in Hugo that the baby might be his. Hugo stares incredulously.

Andres apologizes to Moises. You aren’t my friend; you are my best friend Moises retorts. They indulge in slingshot practice.

Lucas tells Hugo what happened. Did you tell Franco? No is the answer. Hugo is not pleased…

MONTEVERDE #31, Part 2

Julieta is making herself at home at the kitchen table, having a sammie when Lucia arrives and tells her what she thinks calling her “mentirosa”. Julieta is not in the least bit put off. Lucia continues her tirade and finally pulls out her phone showing evidence of the call. But she is one upped when Julieta then pulls out her phone showing a picture of Franco (supposedly) snuggled against her shoulder (a picture she must have taken when he fell asleep the other night. They were both fully clothed), Julieta looks like she wants to cry “uncle” and looking very upset, walks out.

Angelina is comforted by Juan David when Father Gabriel arrives. Is everything all right he asks. No, is the answer. Father Gabriel looks like his patience is at an end! I think he says something about papers that I couldn’t follow.

Franco tells Eva about his dilemma; Lucia is the love of his life. Forgive me Eva says, but are you sure the baby is yours? Yes he affirms. They discuss the fact Julieta has not been in Monteverde long; I’m not sure if Eva asks how well he really knows her.

”Senora Gloria” Father Gabriel calls out Angelina and Juan David in tow. This casa is MINE the good padre says. Flourishing papers, he and Gloria argue, but she is undeterred. The police are mentioned. Angelina pleads with her mother; she has had it. Father Gabriel leaves.

Juanita immediately senses something is wrong with Hugo. He has a secret that he is hesitant to share. Juanita scoffs reminding him that she told him about Carolina. He agrees and spills the tea about what Lucas told him. She is supportive and promises to keep it secret.

Lucia confronts Franco. Did he spend the night with Julieta - si or no. He says he did but explains nothing happened. She tells him about the photo which of course he didn’t know about. She cries in frustration.

Nestor came to Rosalia’s for medical supplies but I could not follow their conversation.
Carolina comes to talk to Father Gabriel she mentions her sister but the volume fades out. Later, they talk about Andres; she shows him a picture of Carlos. She thanks him as he prays, eyes heavenward.

Franco returns to Julieta’s. He confronts her about the photo she showed Lucia. She gets weepy about him being the father of her child but Franco stresses he is the father but is in love with Lucia. Lucia is innocent in all this he says. He mentions she is three months pregnant but of course she is four. I think he wants her to go to the doctors with him.

Lucas has a bad attitude with Rosalia; she asks him to talk with and confide in her. He gives her lip and she leaves.

Oscar is sitting in the lush woods, by the river as Carolina arrives. Oscar talks about his dream, his feelings. He is a man with something on his mind and a question to pose. “Celeste” he smiles, will you be my novia? With a beaming smile, Carolina answers by removing his hat and kissing him.

Another excellent episode…With Lucas’ secret spilling out, will he tell Rosalia before someone else does?

Question: Guess who’s coming to town?? Hint: It ain’t Santa Claus. 😊

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 1

Thank you, Diana. This episode had so many funny scenes that I enjoyed.

Andrés informs Oscar that nuns are married to God. Sister Celeste is a nun and she cannot fall in love with anyone and nobody can fall in love with her! (so there!)

Before she storms out, Lucía accuses Julieta of having erased the phone call which, of course, she denies. Lucía is particularly angry that Franco believes Julieta and not her about he phone call. She is his novia. She asks when they had to stay the night in Zacatillo when all they were doing was going to a doctor appointment. Franco says that was the plan and then reiterates all of Julieta's issues. He doesn't understand why Lucía is so upset. She answers because Julieta drives her crazy. She is none the happier finding out that the doctor said that Julieta cannot travel to Perú for at least another 3 months. Franco professes his love for Lucía but she honestly tells him she doesn't know if she can put up with the Julieta situation for all of that time. He asks her to at least try. He will do his best to make things easier for her. She swears she called him. He believes her.

The good father tells Eva that there is nothing they can do to establish paternity of Julieta's baby until it is born and then they can do a DNA test.

Néstor lets Lucas have it for treating one of the ranch hands poorly. He tells him that if he is in a bad mood, he has no right to take it out on the guy. Lucas insists he isn't in a bad mood. Néstor tells Lucas to calm down and asks him what is wrong. Lucas asks since when did he start to care about what was going on with him. Néstor answers since he became his daughter's novio. Lucas laughs calling Néstor the "father of the year" and reminds Néstor how he rejected Rosalía when she told him he was her father. Néstor grabs him and tells him to be careful with how he speaks to him. He is nobody to judge him.

Cárcamo tells Oscar how he was blown away when he saw Doris. He thought that was the woman who was going to be in charge of his pay checks. Oscar says there is no need for him to spend his pay checks on the wedding because he is is going to pay for it himself.

Lucas tells Hugo that he had sex with Julieta right when she had just arrived in Monteverde before she began to go out with Franco. He didn't cheat on Rosalía because they were not novios yet and were on the outs. He hasn't told Rosalía because he knows he would lose her. He doesn't want to ruin his relationship with Franco.He only had sex with Julieta one time. Why rock the boat? Hugo thinks that Lucas has to come clean with Franco about Julieta. He has the right to know what happened. If he loves Franco as a brother, the time has come to show that he does.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 2

The good father is shocked that Juan David and Angelina are living at the inn and not in the house that he gave to Juan David and that her mother has planted herself there. It turns out that the papers transferring the property to Juan David have not been filed yet, so the house technically still belongs to him. The good father is going to find those papers and confront Gloria himself.
He swears that she will be gone today or she will be dealing with the courts.

Eva does wonder about how well Franco really knows Julieta because ther are sone women who will use pregnancy to try to trap a man. He admits he really doesn't know her well. Also, Eva is disturbed by the fact that Franco never saw the doctor or heard what he had to say about Julieta's condition himself. Franco admits that he didn't go in to see the doctor because Julieta didn't want him too. It was too uncomfortable for her and he didn't want to add more stress to the situation. Eva says he needs to get a DNA test done as soon as it is possible. She wants Franco to know that he can count on her for whatever he needs whenever.

Gloria asks the good father, Angelina and Juan David if they plan on throwing her in jail or burning her alive in order to get her out of the house. The only way they will get her out of that house is if she is DEAD! Angelina gets exasperated and tells her mother if the house is that important she can have it! She is fed up! She grabs Juan David and they leave followed by the good father.

Néstor gives Rosalía a heads up about Lucas. There is something wrong going on with him.

Lucía has to explain to Franco that Julieta wants to separate them. She will not stop until she destroys their relationship. Franco assures her that will never achieve that. He is going to have a serious talk with her.

Franco tells Julieta there is no way that she is going to break him and Lucía up.
He insists that she apologize to Lucía for what she did to her. He wants her to do it right now. She complains but then says that she doesn't feel well enough. He says fine, then she will be apologizing to Lucía tomorrow morning.

Carolina tells the good father about Lucas now also knowing the truth about her and her sister and how he spotted Carlos in Zacatillo. He acknowledges that the situation is very dangerous. He asks what she plans on doing if Carlos arrives in Monteverde. She plans on hiding with her son. He knows they will have to be alert from now on. She shows him the photo of Carlos. He prays that God protects them by preventing Carlos from coming. She tells him, whether he knows it or not, that he has become their guardian angel.

Lucas tells Rosalía he wants to be alone. What is so hard to understand???

Jarifa, your wisdom and humor shown throughout your summary and added so much to my enjoyment of last night's installment.

I'm a bit surprised Lucia admitted to Franco how close to the edge she was. All of this over a phone message. How will she handle the progressive pregnancy? She isn't going to. It seems Franco may have to make a decision between the two women sooner rather than later.

"Lucas laughs calling Néstor the "father of the year." Lucas is giving himself away with his nasty attitude and Rosalia isn't going to tolerate that. She's smart and sure to put two and two together.

"Gloria asks the good father, Angelina and Juan David if they plan on throwing her in jail or burning her alive in order to get her out of the house. The only way they will get her out of that house is if she is DEAD!" Talk about melodramatic!

The dear padre offers to pay for Doris' wedding! The kindest, caring and most generous man, always a bright light here.

Prisma gave birth to the twins, Clara Luz and Rudolf are the biological parents. There was something, when we first met Nazario and Prisma, about because they were twins the price increased. I can’t remember who demanded more money, the woman who was Pipe’s mother, or Nazario. But since Prisma was the surrogate I think it was Nazario that said if she wanted both she’d have to pay more. That’s why the twins were separated. If anyone remembers more feel free to correct me. Actually feel free to correct me anytime you spot something that’s not correct. I try to put only what I can understand but I’m sure I’m not always right.

Julieta losing the baby or being pregnant by someone other than Franco and Lucas can't happen soon enough. I felt a little sorry for her when Franco dumped her after Lucia returned, but not after discovering her true colors.

I can see the entire town getting in on the story about Carolina and throwing dust in Carlos eyes when he eventually gets there. Of course Julieta needs to disappear first as she would be the first to rat her out.

Liz, you are doing a great job with this.

I appreciate your insight and reminder into what happened with the twins' birth. I wish Prisma would walk away from Nazario but she is too afraid. I'm sure (and hopeful) he'll be arrested and the decision will be made for her. There are so many details, even more than the first Papas which was a handful. :)

Papas #42 part 1

Sarena doesn’t play, the kids left the dishes and she washed them.

Aide tells Bill this isn’t the time. He says he’s felt this way for a long time and needed to tell her. He doesn’t want to lose what they have. As he leaves he gets a text and takes off running.

Nazario is making a declaration against Rudolf and Clara Luz. He tells the woman the son suffers from ADHD but they put him in danger by over medicating him. He fears for his daughter also.

Bill arrives and opens the door. Tino runs to Emi and Bill goes up to Scarlet. She looks like she’s foaming at the mouth and freaks out when Tino takes her. He calls an ambulance.

Rudolf is upset that they gave Pipe medicine. Clara Luz tells him he has a condition and the medicine can help. She’s been careful with giving him the medicine and doesn’t know what happened.

Sarena is ignoring Cheno. He says she’s his novia and he doesn’t want her to have thousands of followers. She says she’s his novia, not his. A good line. He wants them to be together making their own videos.

Scarlet is in the hospital, she looks to be unconscious. Tino thanks Bill, he leaves to pay, and ruffles Emi’s hair. Bill puts his hand on Scarlet’s forehead and she wakes up and smiles. Tino tells an alert and improved Scarlet that she doesn’t have to have followers, if she feels bad she needs to talk to him. Bill smiles as he looks on.

Aide is telling Gisela not to talk to Bill about her like that. Gisela mentions she can’t find Scarlet and just as Aide tries to call her they all walk in. A subdued Scarlet says Bill saved her life. Emi tells Aide he’ll come back to live here after the cafeteria opening. He and Bill leave.

Pope wakes up smiling. Clara Luz tells him she wants to see him playing again. Rudolf says to let him sleep.

Aide is mad at Scarlet because she did something dangerous and could have died. Scarlet argues with her mom and leaves. Tino tells Aide she needs to calm down, sit down. He knows it’s a lot for her to have the kids and Maximax. She tells him Melina will be working with her as Urbino’s representative. Tino thinks that will be good. Then he talks to Melina who says if he’s not happy with her working at Maximax she’ll go far away. Even though she needs the job and Íker needs a father. She seems to be disappointed in Tino as a father, Íker needs him by his side, he also needs his last name.

Aide and Scarlet have both calmed down.

Aide wonders why she did something she could have dies from. She wanted to get her followers back. Aide wonders why that’s so important to her. She says she feels so alone with all her siblings, except Uli, gone from the house. Aide tells her they’ll always be there for her, and she can talk to her anytime. If she wants to be an influencer she should wait till she’s older and talk to her father. Aide offers to bring her to the jail to see him but Scarlet doesn’t like it there.

Tino is talking to Circe. She’s upset about Scarlet but Tino says she’s fine now. She asks how his job search is going. Then Gisela shows up, Tino,sent her their location so she can take Circe to lunch

Papas #42 part 2

Melina tells Íker they’re moving to another town. Íker doesn’t want to. Melina tells him his dad puts the other kids first, and doesn’t defend him against Aide. He also didn’t give him his last name. He doesn’t want to leave his siblings, so Melina points out they’re not his biological siblings. What is her game?

As Pipe returns home Nazario rushes to greet him. He says he will be in charge of his medicine because his parents were irresponsible. Rudolf is off to work and Clara Luz suggests food, fruit, to gelatin, no flan. Nazario is alone and gets a text from Melina, she needs to see him now,

Gisela is trying to get Circe to return home. Her mother is fragile and needs her. Circe feels more of a connection to Tino. Gisela wants to improve their relationship. Circe wants to see Scarlet and get some things from her room.

Is it Edith with Checo? Not sure but she asks about woman in his life. He’s had some. Then she mentions his mom. He says she’s fine died years ago. She says maybe someday he’ll talk to her about his mom. It might make him feel better.

Tino and Rudolf are talking. Tino wants an apartment close to Aide so he can see his kids often. Rudolf still is bothered by being in jail. Pipe reacted badly and he and Clara Luz fight a lot. Tino tells him he’s free now and doesn’t have to worry about that.

Bill tells Paulina she shouldn’t be at the grand opening because Lila might think it’s a trap. She agrees, she has to be very careful to win her daughter back. I think Bill just wants her gone because Aide will be there.

Rino wants to see Íker. Melina says of course, I would never come between you. Rino tells Íker things are a mess but will soon be fixed. Íker isn’t interested. Tino never gave him attention, or his last name. He would rather have never met his dad,

Edith tells Checo she helps woman that are alone because of divorce. He asks if she can help a friend of his. She’ll be happy too.

Uli is telling ir e she should come home. She says she’s and her mom always have conflicts. Gisela comes in to get a kiss from her favorite twins. Then she asks them to go to the opening of Bill’s cafeteria. Uli will go but
Circe says no. She gets a text room Checo. Uli knows it’s Checo because texts from him always put a smile on her face. Gisela wants to know who Checo is.

Rino is telling Íker he’s going to do better with him. He wants him and his mother to stay close. Melina is eavesdropping. I,er tells Tino,it’s late and he and his mom leave. Mano calls Tino. I think he asked Tino to play tonight. He’ll send the time and place. I thought he said something about pay, maybe from last time?

Checo tells Circe about the girl that works with abused woman. Circe seems interested. She wonders what he’s doing later. She invites him to the opening of the cafeteria. He’ll go. She tells Uli and Gisela. Uli says good, he’ll invite
Chofis. Gisela wants to know who Chofis is.

Chofis and Yeni are talking. Poncho is looking at his phone. Chofis asks what’s wrong, don’t you want to chat with us. Then Uli calls. She’s excited to go with him but Yeni wants to go to, she deserves love.

Melina seems to be baiting Aide. Aide has no choice, she will work with Melina. Melina mentions Tino. Aide leaves and Sarena walks up to Melina. She needs to talk to someone about Cheno. Apparently she’s choosing Melina.

Íker is telling his grandfather it was better before he met his father. Hernan says no, it will all work out. Íker says his mother is taking him away. Scarlet overhears and is upset that he’s leaving. They hug.

Melina is going to help Sarena become famous, but she can’t tell anyone.

Hernan wants to know why Melina is telling Íker they’re moving. She says it’s part of her plan. He wants his share of the money from the necklace. She says she needs to laundry it first. And thanks to Serena she’ll be able to do it.

Papas #42 part 3

Tino meets Mano and two girls. They arrive at Bill’s cafeteria. Both seem surprised to see each other.

Gisela is still lecturing Aide about Bill. Aide says she isn’t even divorced yet. And Bill is a client. Gisela thinks he’s quite a catch.

Rino tells Bill he’s part of the group. Bill didn’t hire them, someone else contacted them. Tino,thanks Bill again for saving Scarlet. Bill says they both did, things were frantic.

Not sure if the man was El Chacal. But he’s sick of staying in but can’t risk being recognized.

Just as ill is about to start the ceremony, Aide arrives. She thanks him again for saving Scarlet..It seems he starts to say something, like Tino and I both did, but he never says it. He invites Aide to cut the ribbon. Then she sees Tino. He says he didn’t hire the band. Aide says she and Tino are both professionals, but Tino looks mad as he watches them talk.

Family Services comes to the door and tell Clara Luz a complaint was filed and she may lose custody. Rudolf comes over too.

Chofis, Checo and Yeni arrive at the cafeteria. Lila arrives and sees Aide. She goes to a different door and sees Tino. As she leaves she runs into Uli and Circe, who are excited to see her. It she says she was just passing by and takes off. Uli goes after her but Circe goes inside to see Yeni close to Checo.

Clara Luz is sure it’s the doctor because he was going to notify Family Services. They say it wasn’t the doctor, it was Nazario. Rudolf turns to Prisma and wonders what kind of rat he is.

El Chacal grabs Melina and Íker.

"Gisela is trying to get Circe to return home. Her mother is fragile and needs her. Circe feels more of a connection to Tino". That is because Aide always needed to be the disciplinarian. I've always felt Circe was a bit spoiled and selfish.

I think you are exactly right in that Bill didn't want Paulina at the party because Aide was going to be there.

The way Melina is manipulating Iker is just sickening. And now she plans to destroy Serena's life too. She has no conscience. Ditto for Nazario! He is disgusting.

So did Melina plan El Chacal's appearance or was it a surprise? I don't trust her as far as I could throw her.

MONTEVERDE #32, Part 1

It’s not everyday a nun becomes a novia but this isn’t your run of the mill everyday story either! 😊

Celeste, will you be my novia Oscar asks earnestly? After removing Oscar’s hat, Celeste kisses him and then puts his hat back on. Yes, I will be your novia. Hat off, sweet kisses ensued. Oscar talks about his “forever” love; Celeste looks a bit alarmed; she mentions the Mother Superior in a torrent of words saying this isn’t the moment. Oscar doesn’t understand but is muy Feliz; she feels the same way. He takes his hand and places it gently on her face as they kiss. He is so happy but she looks sad. What’s wrong he asks. They end up hugging and we see her worried face. He interrupts her, seeming to say everything will be all right. They kiss.

“Hola” the good padre says entering Manuel’s. How do you solve a problem like Gloria he asks. Not really, but that is the jist of it. The agitated father says the house is his; complaining that Gloria won’t leave the couple in peace. Manuel seems to agree. I think Father Gabriel has something up his sleeve.

A conflicted Franco, caught between two women comes home and vents to Lucas. Lucas tries to talk to him but Franco just wants to watch TV.

Carolina hoists herself over the gate and calls Celeste. Celeste is furious telling her sister she knows she spent the night with Oscar Leon! Carolina then tells her they are novias and Celeste gets even angrier!! Celeste tells her to consider the consequences of what she has done and hangs up on her!!

Carlos tells his sidekick to concentrate on finding his wife and son!

Oscar talks to Andres, saying he knows how much he cares about Sister Celeste. As Andres crosses his arms and stares, Oscar admits how important she is to him. They fist bump as Andres seems to say Celeste is like his mother.

Juanita isn’t exactly ecstatic about Carolina’s news either, fixing her with a stern look, arms crossed. Carolina’s moondogging doesn’t help either.

Manuel is on his way out when Lucas arrives. Lucas knocks on Julieta’s door. She is not happy to see him, barely acknowledging him. He talks about the baby but she says the child is not his (she gave some reason I couldn’t interpret). My baby is Franco’s she says stonily; Lucas gets up and leaves. She looks a bit concerned (guilty??)

Manuel goes to visit Gloria; to his surprise, she has the door barricaded. When he asks why, she complains about Angelina. She is married Manuel says, defending her. Gloria turns on the waterworks for a moment and then pulls back. Gloria isn’t up to making long term plans for Manuel but she seems ready to commit to short term loving.

Lucas visits Hugo and tells him Franco is the child’s father. Hugo doesn’t seem too convinced; I think he says something about Franco who comes from a wealthy family indicating she may be looking to take advantage of that. Whatever Julieta told Lucas, it seems to be working and he leaves.

Franco visits Julieta: she lies through her teeth saying he doesn’t want to get between him and Lucia. Sure. Right.

Lucas visits Rosalia who doesn’t look up, he states the obvious that he was an idiot. He holds out his hand and tells her he loves her. They kiss and she smiles.

Buenos dias Father Gabriel tells Juan David and Angelina. Something drastic needs to be done the good padre announces. He introduces a man whom I believe is an actor. He has concocted something to ensure Gloria leaves his house. Angelina looks unsure but Juan David looks happy.

MONTEVERDE #32, Part 2

Franco visits Lucia as Trinidad salivates. As they go outside, Julieta is there. Looking like she doesn’t mean one word that is escaping her lips, she asks for Lucia’s forgiveness. She goes on a bit longer than necessary and Lucia brings up the photo. Lucia grabs Franco’s arm and tells her to respect their relationship. Julieta, not the least bit chastised, leaves. Franco tells Lucia he loves her and his kiss seems very convincing.

Walking down the path with her bike, Carolina starts practicing the speech in which she plans to tell Oscar she is Carolina, not Celeste…

Doris and Cárcamo are planning the wedding when all of a sudden, Cárcamo looks a bit upset. Do you not want to marry me she asks. Yes he answers fervently, you are the woman of my dreams. They have a fight and she crumples up the wedding list and stalks out. Was it something about not having a place to live? Jarifa, can you kindly clarify?

There is a knock on the door and Gloria opens it. It is the man who just met with the good father, clutching the clipboard Juan David gave him. He starts asking her questions which I apologize I can’t understand except for the odd fact he mentions Froilán at which Gloria does seem a bit unnerved. After he leaves we hear something crashing inside the house as Gloria looks around.

Carolina knocks on Oscar’s door, still muttering her proposed speech to herself. Oscar kisses her and distracted by his radiant smile, she is having a hard time getting to the reason she came. Oscar keeps sidetracking her telling her how wonderful she is. “Oscar” she starts but another delay ensues when Moises starts calling for him. Oscar kisses her and goes back inside as she looks wistful.

Father Gabriel asks Lucas if he is completely sure Franco is the baby’s father. He tells him there is no possibility he (Lucas) is the father. They are interrupted by a mail delivery and there is a letter for Lucas, from his mother!

“Lucia” a good looking, dark-haired man who has just alighted from a motorcycle calls out.

Lucas visits Rosalia with the letter; he is so excited. She hands it back to him to read. Sadly, I didn’t understand what was said; perhaps something about his father.

“You are dead to me” Lucia spits out. Forgive me, I was an imbecile (word of the night) Rodrigo pleads. She again orders Rodrigo to leave. He said he made a mistake. I think something about another woman was mentioned. She tells him their reunion is impossible as her heart is occupied. As he won’t leave, she takes off as he looks confused.

The man reports back to Father Gabriel seeming to say the operation was a success.

Lucas and Franco ride their horses and discuss Julieta. Lucas shares what Eva mentioned to him, that there may be another man involved. Lucas looks upset and guilty.

Rodrigo ends up at Manuel’ s as Eva is sitting at a table. Julieta comes downstairs and flirts with Rodrigo. He introduces himself saying he has arrived to recover his love. How romantic she comments. Then the bombshell is dropped. He tells her he is Lucia’s ex – Rodrigo. Are you a friend of Lucia’s he asks? No she shakes her head sort of smiling. I am pregnant by Lucia’s love, Franco! Right on cue, Franco walks in! Julieta introduces Franco as the father of her baby and Lucia’s new love! Franco stares as Eva takes all of this in, her face mirroring her shock and concern.

Things are really heating up! Timing is certainly not on Carolina’s side as she struggles to try and tell Oscar the truth. I hope the gruesome twosome’s bad luck continues and they don’t find their way to Monteverde before Carolina manages to tell him!

Thank you, Diana.

Celeste tells Oscar that she will be his novia but they cannot make their relationship public yet. She explains that her mother superior would kick her out of the order and that would be bad because she has a commitment to the women she came to town with. She cannot announce out of nowhere that she is going to stop being a nun. He is willing to give her all the time it takes. She hopes she doesn't turn out to be a disappointment because she is far from perfect. He assures her that there is nothing she could do that could ever stop him from loving her.

Manuel tells the good father that he is tired already of asking Gloria to marry him. He has done everything he can. The good father tells him he needs to do more or he will bring a real heartthrob to town to win Gloria's heart and take her far away from Monteverde. Manuel asks him not to do that. The good father says then he needs to get her out of his house or he will get somebody else to do it.

Franco needs to go rest and watch tv after his confrontation with Julieta and especially after Lucas tries to explain where Julieta is coming from. A worried looking Lucas is thinks she still has a chance with Franco.

Oscar tells Andrés that he knows that Sister Celeste is very important to him and he wants him to know that in spite of being a grouch much of the time, he would never do anything to hurt Sister Celeste. Andrés tells him he better not but thanks him for taking care of her because she is like a mother to him.

Julieta tells Lucas there is no possibility that the baby is his because after she was with him, she got her period. She also hopes he has not told anyone what went on between them. He lies saying of course he didn't. She adds that he better not have.

Gloria explains to Manuel that she is entrenched in the house because her own blood wants to drag her out of there! After Manuel invites her to his house for a little dinner and wine, she tells him they can let the dinner and wine go for another day and get down to some action!.He compares himself to an angry colt in a corral. She thinks he is more like a bull!
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 2

Lucas believes Julieta and tells Hugo that Franco is the one, not him, who can take a DNA test when the time arrives.

Julieta wants to go alone to apologize to Lucía. Franco says no way. He wants to be there. That way they can avoid any confusion about who said what.

Rosalía doesn't know what Lucas is doing in her office after the way he treated her unless he has a medical emergency. He apologizes and lies saying that he doesn't know what he was upset about. She is the best thing that has happened to him in his life. He will never stop loving her. She says it is the same for her even though he called her a cockatoo.

The good father tells Angelina and Juan David that he has found a drastic solution to get Gloria out of the house. It is Gustavo Acosta, a recognized actor. He has played Don Quijote, Drácula , Hamlet and many other roles in the Zacatillo community theater. He is going to help get Gloria out of their house!

Julieta apologizes but blames her bad behavior on "hormones." Lucía asks her why she didn't tell Franco that she had called and why did she take that photo.
Julieta answers that she told her already that she herself doesn't know. She doesn't know what to do if Lucía doesn't forgive her. Lucía says it is simple: she needs to respect her relationship with Franco. They love each other and nothing that she does will split them up. Julieta lies and says she has to go because the doctor says she shouldn't stand for long periods of time. After she leaves, Lucía says that Julieta gave good lip service to an apology. She only did it to look good in Franco's eyes. Franco asks her not to be provoked by Julieta.

Gustavo the actor is all set for Operation Eviction except for a clipboard so he can keep track of Gloria's answers to all of the questions he is going to ask her. He came equipped with his wardrobe but not props. Juan David offers him one of his.

Cárcamo lied to Doris about having a little house where they could live after they got married. He has nothing. He said nothing because he was embarrassed with having nothing to offer her. She is angry that he would think she was only interested in money. She would not have cared if he had nothing. What she cannot take are lies. She cannot think of marrying a liar. She leaves.

Gustavo the actor tells Gloria he is "Benjamín Puente" from "Encuestamex" (an encuesta is a survey)to find out how the people in town feel about the town's municipal services. She is ready to participate because the town needs a lot of things starting with a cellphone signal. She puts her hand out to be kissed and he pushes it away. She is not pleased. He asks if she is the owner of the house. The answer is no but it is as if she were. From 1 to 5, how important is the arrival of cellphone service. She answers 5 and so it goes . . .
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 3

The good father thinks that Lucas still needs to tell Franco what happened with Julieta even though Franco insists that Julieta told him that the baby was not his. The good father asks what will Lucas do if when the baby arrives they do a DNA test and the baby turns out not to be Franco's. Will he raise his hand and say "Excuse me, the baby could be mine." ? Lucas insists that from what Julieta told him there is zero possibility the baby is his. The good father thinks he might be taking the easy way out to calm his conscience.

Lucas gets a letter from his uncle Giovanni who is his mother's cousin. The good father says maybe there is news about Lucas' father and is disappointed when Lucas wants to read the letter in private. He will tell the good father all about it later.

Gustavo tells Gloria that there are only two more questions. He asks how she would rate the quality of the interviewer. She gives him a 5. How likely is she to leave Monteverde because of a lack of a cellphone signal? She says ZERO. She is going to live in that house forever. He says she is brave after what happened in that house. Froilán was buried right there. Hasn't she heard of him. She nods. He says a lot of women have died in this area because he makes his rounds through the neighborhood at night. She says that Froilán is something that people have made up. Gustavo is not so sure. . . Why was this house empty for so long? He insists it is because people are afraid of losing their lives living there.He says that is why he himself left town when he himself saw Froilán making his rounds and heard him knocking at his door. He was gone when they opened it. He and his wife were going crazy just thinking about what he could do to them. Froilán wears a cape and an old fashioned hat. Gustavo was a non-believer like Gloria until he saw him himself. Gustavo leaves. Gloria is not convinced until she hears the sound of some glass breaking in another room.

The letter is in Italian. It says that Lucas' uncle Giovanni Gandini is doing a family tree and that is why he is contacting him. Lucas is the only family member who does not live in Italy. He sent him his e-mail to stay in contact. Rosalía thinks he might have some info about his father. Tomorrow they can go to Zacatillo to an internet café. She is ready to go to Italy with him to look for his dad.

Franco tells Lucas that his mother suggested that he tell Julieta that he will need a DNA test for the baby. Franco would hate to offend her by bringing that up but the way she has been acting, it is possible that she is lying to him about who the baby's father is.

After binging Monteverde, I quit watching Domenica as the discussion here stopped. Perhaps I'll watch some more of it after Christmas. Yesterday I watched only 1 TN and the nightly news and enjoyed my more typical to me silence of the TV.

Jarifa, your summary read like a marvelous short story. Your detailing is impeccable; you write so beautifully.

Love "Operation Eviction!" "He says that is why he himself left town when he himself saw Froilán making his rounds and heard him knocking at his door". I'm smiling in anticipation, this is going to be fun!

"He assures her that there is nothing she could do that could ever stop him from loving her." If only that were true! I'm not sure how much Oscar has mellowed, he is a good man but can be quite unyielding from what we've seen.

Cárcamo was so foolish to lie to Doris. Here's hoping the lack of housing is but a quick speed bump on their way to true happiness.

Interesting twist about Lucas' father; can a Roman holiday be far behind?

I so enjoyed the episode! Perhaps not everything is resolved but things continue to move and there are small surprises around every corner.

My recollection is that TNs air on Christmas but rarely on Christmas Eve. That's all right though, I can't wait for tonight's mayhem that is sure to ensue at Gloria's. :)

Diana, yes! This was such a good episode again. My favorite scene of the night was the good father asking Lucas if he was planning on raising his hand as the possible father of Julieta’s baby if it turned out not to be Franco’s. So funny as was so much of the episode.

Can’t wait for more “Froilán.”

Whatever the broadcast schedule, I will roll with it! So much of what Univision does is last minute.

Diana, I agree about Oscar not taking Carolina's confession well. He talks a good talk but I think he will be definitely upset. She may not be a nun, but now she's a married woman. The one thing that doesn't seem to be progressing is the case against Carlos so she is no longer a fugitive.

I have a question about Juanita. Is she related to Carolina at all, or was she the nanny/help?

For those that care to know, I managed choir practice Monday night, 1 week post surgery. Today my husband drove us to the grocery store and with the help of a shopping cart, I managed that excursion. After my surgery I had low blood pressure issues, so they put me on meds for it. Bought a BP cuff and I keep track and weaned myself off the pills pretty quickly. In 2 1/2 hours we are off to Mass. The rosary will be said and Carols will be sung prior to the 4 p.m. service so we have to get there early. I'll probably take the rolater rather than the walker or crutches.in a pinch it's an extra seat at the expected full house. We also go Christmas Morning. The joys of being in the choir . With the kids grown and flown I like doing both services.

Babachita, no snow. In fact we are probably going to break a record for the warmest Christmas. 76° tomorrow. I actually got to church on Saturday also. I needed the walker then.

No Spanish programs for me tonight. My husband and I watch It's a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve. It's our favorite.

Nazario and Prisma are in a flashback when she was expecting the twins..She said all the blessings are for Silvana, not her, as they’re Silvana’s babies. Nazario tells her isn’t she better off si ce she’s with him. She agrees. Then we see Natalie more in the present say, running to Nazario who has balloons for her. Prisma thinks about violence, sometimes it’s just putting someone down and belittling them.

It wasn’t El Chacal, but Nazario. She tells Íker to run, then she tells Nazario she thinks they convinced Íker it was El Chacal. She wants Nazario to hit her in the face.

Family services is taking Pipe. Clara Luz promises it will only be for a little while. Natalia doesn’t want them to take Pipe, but Prisma says it’s best for Pipe. Rudolf wants to know how it’s best. Prisma says if Nazario reported him he did it from his heart and feels it’s best. Rudolf calls her a hypocrite and says if she agrees she must have a heart of sone like Nazario.

As the band leaves Tino tells Aide the only one Bill is close to,at his restaurant opening is Aide.

Scarlet tells Emi she misses him. He tells them Bill thinks he could be a big help to Aide if he moved back. Tino looks pained.

Uli tells Lila that I’ll is a client of Aide’s. She doesn’t want to work there if she’ll be running into family. Uli wants her to come home. They miss each other but Lily says you don’t know what they did to me. Uli says I won’t know unless you tell me.

Circe is talking to Checo and maybe Edith about violence against woman. Circe is interested because her major was sociology. Gisela approaches with Alexander. She mistakes Checo for a waiter.

Bill mentions there’s a celebrity at the opening. It’s the influencer Karima who came with Serena. They do selfies together.Someone at the gym is showing Checo the video where the influencer mentions their followers. He’s not happy.

Tino is watching Aide when Uli shows up. As they start talking Íker runs up and says El Chacal got them. He got away but his mom is in danger. Rino and Uli rush off with him.

Nazario comes in as both kids are crying. He tells Pipe this is the best for him. Then he tells the Family Service people that his wife gave birth to the twins and he understands Pope’s condition and they’d be better off with him.

Serena overhears the kids talking about Melina. She wants to know what’s happening and they’d tell her she was attacked y El Chacal.

Family Services says they’ll have to legally fight for Pipe. They tell Pipe to be strong like he was five years ago. After Pipe leaves Rudolf tells Nazario he wants him out of the house. Nazario says it’s Pipe’s house and they can’t throw them out.

Gisela is telling Aide, and Bill that they live in that house with no males to protect them. She’s worried since Melina was attacked. They need a male around.

Melina is in an ambulance when Tino and the boys arrive. Tino asks if she’s sure it was El Chapal. She is. Tino says she must denounce him. Meanwhile she’s in his arms hugging him and Uli seems to be aware of what’s going on.
Tino brings them to the hotel. They’ll be safe there. Melina wants him to protect Íker and herself.

Forgot this, Tino seems to think since El Chapal attacked Melina he could be Gibron’s killer.

Gisela is upset about El Chacal. Hernan thinks it won’t be long until he’s asked to leave the house. He starts talking about her investing in his crypto business. She says she doesn’t want to use her capital that way but since she promised she will. Hernan is ready for her to transfer the money, she says, so soon. He pulls this poor me, just an old man, you don’t trust me.

Serena and the kids get home. Chano is upset that she’s with Karima when he told her not to go on social media. She wonders who will prohibit her.

Melina is a poor defenseless woman with a son. She wants Iler and her to live with Circe and him. He needs to be there to protect his son.He says no, it’s not fair to Aide. Melina points out that Aide has moved on to another interest

Rudolf and Clara Luz pull out the puppets they used with Pipe years ago. They can fight for him again. Rudolf mentions they wouldn’t be in this mess if Clara Luz hadn’t started the medication. Then they discuss getting both kids. Meanwhile Nazario is praising Prisma for the way she stood up for him. She feels bad to be hurting Clara Luz and Rudolf. She worries they might lose their job. Nazario says hasn’t he always taken care of her and protected her. She agrees he has.

Aide is firing Nazario because of the conflict with Clara Luz and Rudolf. Prisma too. Nazario says he can be professional. Then Melina comes in, Aide can’t fire them because she won’t agree to it.

Clara Luz and Rudolf visit Pipe. He feels alone and doesn’t like the food. He starts acting out and blaming them. Prisma comes and calms him down, and gives him a stress ball.

Nazario leaves while they decide his future. Melina doesn’t agree with the reason Aide gives. We’re all here to work, not to be friends. That Melina mentions representing Serena. Aide doesn’t think it’s a good idea, too risky. Melina feels they need to represent her. Aide reads her posts and gives in.

Circe tells Tino she doesn’t think it’s a good idea that they have Melina and Íker live with them. Tino thinks it will be a big help. She asks if there’s something etween them, he says friendship. He also hasn’t found a job yet.

Papas #43 part 3

Lila runs into her landlord. She wants the last two months rent, and next months too.

Circe is telling her friend she and Checo are friends. She tells her about Edith and then gets a text from her. They’ll meet later.

A guy is telling Tino something was cancelled. Maybe it’s Mano. A family sits down with a boy with a guitar. Tino tells his friend he just got a divine sign. Then he gets a text from Melina. She wants to know if he’s decided if they’re going to live together.

The staff sits down as Melina and Aide say they’re keeping Nazario and Prisma on the team.after the bosses leave, Clara Luz is going to pick up Natalie. Rudolf seems to be going to but Nazario grabs him and they almost get in a fight.

Edithmis telling about her work with young woman with past relationships with violence. Is Circe interested, Circe says yes, she is. She gets a call from Aide wanting to know how she is and how are things at the university. Rice mentions they’re moving. She’s with a friend so will text Aide the address.

Prisma, Nazario and Melina are watching a video with Serena. It seems like an advertisement for Bill’s. Melina welcomes her, she’s going to be famous..Melina tells Nazario to do something, he wants to change it,Melina tells him that’s an order. Prisma is telling Serena how great this will be for mothers everywhere. Nazario tells her to be quiet and sit down and take notes.

Emi is home. Scarlet is thrilled. She tells Emi they’ll get to see Íker at school because they’re not moving to wherever she’s talked about. Aide is surprised. She didn’t know Melina was talking about moving.

Prisma leaves. Nazario tells Melina he loves how Serena is real and authentic and will connect with other mothers. Serena says that’s exactly what Prisma said. Melina doesn’t listen to Melina, she just tells Nazario she loves it. Serena doesn’t look pleased.

Checo is praising Edith. He goes in for a kiss and she mentions looking at the photos. He agrees, but then they kiss.

Lila shows up to work for Bill. Meanwhile Paulina is with Lila’s landlord paying her and telling her to keep insisting to Lila that she pay her rent.

Aide has the address Circe sent her. She rings the bell and Melina comes to the door. Aide asks what she’s doing there and she says she and Íker live there.

MONTEVERDE #33, Part 1

We begin with a replay of Julieta introducing Franco as the father of her baby to Rodrigo and also as the love of Lucia! The men start arguing as Eva jumps up and intervenes. Congratulations on your child Rodrigo crows to an incensed Franco. Rodrigo seems to dismiss Franco rather contemptuously implying he was with Lucia for eight years. A concerned, protective Eva stands by her son, putting her arm on his shoulder in support. Eva glares at Julieta who can barely contain her smirk.

At the women’s house, Oscar and Carolina flirt; she nervously looking up the stairs, not wanting to be discovered. Paulina comes down and tells her Doris is very upset. Carolina naturally feels obligated to go to Doris as Oscar smiles graciously. “What’s wrong” Carolina asks Doris gently. Doris rages about her ”mentirosa” as she throws her clothes into her duffel bag. Carolina tells her it is natural to be upset…

Eva knocks on Julieta’s door. Eva has her number telling her Franco is in love with Lucia, not her. Claro Julieta snaps and chastises her for being mother of the year. Eva warns Julieta to be careful; she knows what kind of woman Julieta is.

Gloria is having water and salad when she hears something outside. Choking for a moment, she stands up and stares as she hears otherworldly noises of a ghostly and evil nature outside!

Carolina tells Juanita about the problems Doris is having and assorted other ills. Juanita mentions Oscar…

Rosalia and Lucia talk as Franco arrives; Rosalia makes herself scarce. Franco stares and says he “met” Rodrigo. Why is he here in Monteverde he asks angrily. He calls him an imbecile and the conversational barbs fly back and forth until Lucia fires back about Julieta. Franco’s eyes reflect that the green monster is alive and well! Lucia tells him Rodrigo means absolutely nothing to her but Franco storms out.

Meanwhile, we hear frightening music as Gloria is drawn to the window! Her unsteady hand pulls back the drapes and all of a sudden, we see Froilán in a top hat and cape, peering through the window intently at her, his face washed in ashen white!! Gloria screams and faints dead away!

Elsewhere, Father Gabriel entertains Juan David and Angelina, who is worried about her mother. All of a sudden, “Froilán” (aka Gustavo) runs in, telling them what happened. They dash off and Angelina picks her mother up off the floor crying “mama”. Father quickly sends “Froilán” away. Gloria seems to have lapsed into a coma.

Carolina tucks Andres in and he seems to tease her about Oscar as she leaves, smiling.

At his casa, Oscar gently pulls a book away from a sleeping Moises and lovingly pats him on the head. He smiles as he turns out the light and leaves.

MONTEVERDE #33, Part 2

Rosalia attends to Gloria, saying she had a shock. Angelina ministers to her mother, clutching her hand tightly. The good padre natters on, eyes wide as saucers. Does she need to go to the hospital? No Rosalia says. The father and Juan David look like things have gone terribly wrong, which is exacerbated by the arrival of a bereft Manuel!

Carolina in her high-necked, long nightgown hears a noise outside her window. Oscar climbs through the window, declaring his love, missing her hugs and kisses. Come in she invites him as he falls on the bed, quite clumsily!

Angelina is very upset by the turn of events and Juan David is the recipient of her dismay. Father Gabriel seems to indicate he has things under control but doesn’t seem too sure as he blesses him.

Oscar is hugging Carolina, thisclose in the small twin bed as Carolina smiles. She finally rolls over to face him. Does she take advantage of their precious alone time to tell him the truth?? Nopis. “Buenos noches” is all we hear as they snuggle closely. The next morning she wakes to see him dressed and standing by the door. She caresses his cheek and tells him she loves him; the sentiments are returned. He leaves the way he came in, she smiling broadly.

Eva runs into Nestor who seems to be gearing up for a morning run. They walk off together.

Angelina cries copious tears to her unconscious mother, blaming herself as she holds Gloria’s hands. Juan David listens outside the door, wincing and frustrated.

Eva complains to Nestor about Julieta and about Franco’s situation and problems. Nestor tries to comfort her and envelops her in a hug. Thank you she says. They both lean forward, their attraction clearly evident. They are just about to kiss when Franco bursts in, taking in the scene with wide eyes.

Manuel, Cárcamo, Father Gabriel and the women and the father talk about Froilán. “He doesn’t exist” Manuel roars, asking the good father to back him up. However, Father Gabriel is strangely silent. Manuel fires everyone up until the frantic Father calls for calm.

“Hijo” Eva falters, trying to explain. A furious Franco knows what he saw and his mother’s pleas to sit and have coffee go unheeded as he leaves.

The next morning, Rosalia tells Angelina Gloria is stable. “Mama” Angelina pleads…but there is no response.

“How is Gloria” Lucas asks Rosalia as they get in his car, ready for a road trip. “Vamos” Rosalia smiles.

MONTEVERDE #33, Part 3

Rodrigo shows up at Lucia’s. She tells him she made it clear to him she wants nothing to do with him. “Basta” Lucia says. He asks for her forgiveness as the women filter in. Trinidad asks who he is and he introduces himself. He asks her for a few minutes alone which she begrudgingly grants. The women realize he is the groom who jilted Lucia at the altar!

Juan David timidly enters the bedroom and as he and Angelina talk we see that sly fox Gloria is looking at them out of the corner of her eye, she is awake and more than conscious! ☹ Angelina will not leaver her side and continues to read to her “comatose” mother.

Carolina is sitting outside as Oscar brings Moises to class. The boys talk as Oscar extends his hand which she touches for a few brief moments as Oscar winks at her. The boys head inside as Oscar tips his hat to her. He hands her another note (Jarifa, can you kindly translate?)

Rosalia and Lucas are preparing for a virtual call with Lucas’ tio. Lucas introduces Rosalia who calls her pretty. The few things I can add is that there was discussion about Monteverde and Lucas’s mother. He asks his uncle if he knows where his father is.

Cárcamo tells Father Gabriel he failed to tell Doris he didn’t have a house. The Father has an idea which I couldn’t understand other than it involves Oscar.

Juan David sits beside Gloria. As he goes to take her hand, she pulls it away. He realizes she is faking and leaves as she realizes she just gave herself away.☹

Rodrigo talks to a stern Lucia who stands with her arms folded. She says something like if he thinks she will forgive him after leaving her for another woman he is crazy. (Is that what happened? If not, has he actually told her why he never showed up? I’m confused)

Nestor finds Franco. He tries to tell him he and Eva are just friends but Franco knows that is a lie!

Rosalia and Lucas ride home and talk about Italy.

In the last scene of the night, a departing Rodrigo hugs Lucia as Franco sees them, his face darkening with fury…

I only wish we’d seen more of Froilán! Gloria did indeed look horrified although she recovered fairly quickly didn’t she?? Carolina is making things so much worse by failing to tell Oscar her truth! I’m really afraid Carlos’ days of wandering the earth will come to an end shortly and he will beat her to the punch…

Liz, I give you credit for following this rather confusing episode so well. You captured everything so smartly and cleared up a lot for me.

I was completely shocked it was Nazario rather than El Chacal who "attacked" Iker and Melina! How could she allow her son to be manhandled??She is utterly contemptuous and turns my stomach. Iker cannot possibly be her son, can he??

I keep thinking Nazario can't possibly get more condescending of Prisma yet I'm continually proven wrong. He is so disrespectful and dismissive. Yet, I was surprised Prisma continues to defend him and do what he tells her. Girl needs a backbone.

"After Pipe leaves Rudolf tells Nazario he wants him out of the house. Nazario says it’s Pipe’s house and they can’t throw them out". Oh my. Things are really looking bleak aren't they?

I hope you feel a bit better each day Liz. Thank you for doing this on Christmas Eve. It was a fine recap.

Merry Christmas!

Univision did get away from programming novelas on Thanksgiving and Christmas for several years and did so with Thanksgiving this year but couldn't find any other Christmas programming I guess. Unbelievable! A gigantic thank you to Liz and Diana for going way above and beyond to provide recaps for those novelas that aired last night.

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 1

Franco tells Rodrigo to go back where he came from. Rodrigo says it will be up to Lucía who she chooses.

Carolina suggests that Doris should wait until the next day before leaving so she can think the situation with Cárcamo over when she isn't as upset.

Carolina tells Juanita about her failed attempts to tell Oscar the truth. Juanita says that the time has come to stop looking for excuses and tell Oscar the truth. If he finds out from someone else, he will never forgive her. Juanita wonders what would happen if the good father found out that now she was Oscar's novia. That might be the last straw.

It turns out that Lucía's nana told Rodrigo where she was. Franco cannot imagine why she would do such a thing after how he treated Lucía. She says he has no right to blame her when she had nothing to do with it. It isn't right. He doesn't think it is right that she even spoke to him. She says it didn't happen like that and he has no write to come complaining to her after everything that has happened with Julieta. Franco seems to blame her for Franco still being in town. She tells him she has no idea why he is still there. Maybe Franco should ask him. Franco makes things worse by asking her if seeing Rodrigo brought up those old feeling she had for him. She felt NOTHING for him. She finds Franco's questions offensive and tells him to go. They can talk when he is calmer.

The good father tells Angelina not to worry. He is sure that after a a good scare, her mother will be out of the house and she and Juan Daavid can move back in.

A smiling Andrés tells his mother that Oscar says that he loves her and that he will take care of her. It is okay if she loves him back.

Rosalía says when Gloria is conscious they can talk to her and find out what happened. The good father says they can take care of that. . . Angelina volunteers to spend the night with her mother. She will NEVER EVER leave her alone again. Juan David almost audibly sighs. After Rosalía leaves, Angelina tells the good father and her husband that they could have frightened her mother to death.

The good father still has faith that when Gloria awakens she will want to leave the house. After hearing his wife, Juan David is not so sure.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 2


Néstor and Eva decide to become running partners in the morning but he insists them having breakfast today together today. She accepts with a smile.

As Juan David listens to his wife promise her mother to never to leave her again, he looks like he realizes that his situation might be hopeless.

Eva tells Néstor about her trip to see Julieta and how she had the nerve to say that since she left Franco when he was a boy she was the least entitled to give her any lessons on morality. She understands that others might think that she was terrible in leaving Franco but he knows that wasn't the case. She is worried that Julieta is taking advantage of him. I bothers her that Franco doesn't trust her. Néstor doesn't want to be cruel but it is only logical he wouldn't feel comfortable with her. They do not have a strong bond. She protests saying but she is his mother. Néstor hugs her. She thanks him sahing she needed a hug. When he sees her like this it makes him remember when they were together. She smiles and they almost kiss.

The good father tells the "mob" that all they can do is wait until Gloria wakes up so she can tell them what happened.

Rosalía tells Angelina that they will give her mother more time but if she doesn't come to, they will take her to Zacatillo to run some tests.

Lucas and Rosalía are going to the internet café in Zacatillo. She tells him that she suspects that Gloria is putting on an act to make Angelina feel guilty. Lucas feels sorry for Juan David having a mother-in-law like Gloria.

Juan David is upset with Angelina about the things she is telling her mother She cannot promise those things on her own. She cannot make promises she will not be able to keep. Angelina makes it clear that she will fulfill them and that she will never leave her mother and that he as her husband will support her and be by her side. He apologizes but he does not agree. They agreed that her mother had to move out. She makes it clear that now all she cares about is her mother getting well. He says they will talk later.

The note: "Sleeping by your side has been one of the most marvelous things I ever experienced in my life. Have a day that is as beautiful as you are."

The good father tells Cárcamo to talk to Humbetrto who is leaving town. Maybe he can rent his house. If that doesn't work, he should talk to Oscar. Cárcamo doesn't want to take advantage of Oscar who is already paying for thewedding. The good father reminds him that if he doesn't solve the housing issue, there is no wedding.

Lucas finds out from his uncle: that he was gong through some photos and remembered that Lucas' grandmother went to Mexico to live in a town called Monteverde so he sent the letter there. Lucas says all mail ends up at the parish offices since it is a small town. He found a lot of photos when his mother was in Mexico at the veterinary school. Lucas never knew that his mother was in Mexico. His uncle has no idea when that was or who she might have been with but can send him the photos. His uncle cannot help him find his father because he never knew who he was.

Yes, Rodrigo was involved with another woman when he left Lucía at the altar.

Lucas cannot wait for the photos from his uncle. His grandmother gave him only four of his mother. His father remains a mystery but he will find him one day. Rosalía is sure he will. They talk about the information they might be able to get about him when they go to Italy like going to the hospital where Lucas was born. She thinks he should have confidence in her because she better than the FBI when it comes to finding people. She found her father!

After a joyous mass, what a pleasure to return and read your marvelous summary Jarifa! You are so kind and generous to have spent time Christmas morning crafting this.

I so appreciate your translating the young lad's sweet statement as well as the swoon worthy note: "Sleeping by your side has been one of the most marvelous things I ever experienced in my life. Have a day that is as beautiful as you are." Be still my heart! Oh dear, Juanita (and we) are right! Carolina's silence will surely implode...

"Franco makes things worse by asking her if seeing Rodrigo brought up those old feeling she had for him." Watching his face contort in anger was a not so gentle reminder he is indeed Oscar's son.

So Rodrigo did cheat on Lucia. AND left her at the altar. I wouldn't give him the time of day and hope Lucia banishes him PDQ. What gaul he has.

They do not have a strong bond". Both harsh (Julieta's cruel) but still, Eva did abandon Franco for decades...She can't just walk into Franco's life and expect to be immediately forgiven. And now that Franco senses the tension between Eva and Nestor that possibility seems to have faded immeasurably.

"Lucas never knew that his mother was in Mexico. His uncle has no idea when that was or who she might have been with but can send him the photos". Yet another mystery!! OK, who is Lucas' mother!? Dare I say (gulp) Eva?? I'm wracking my brain as to who else it could be. None of the other women in the story were in Monteverde till recently, right??
