MONTEVERDE #36, Part 1

Preparing for their escape, Hugo opens the car door for Carolina; Andres already safely seated in the back. Just then, Carlos pulls up. Hugo jumps in the car and quickly takes off!

Eva arrives at Nestor’s and puts out her hand to receive some liquid comfort in a glass. She tells him again (for the hundredth time) she came back to Monteverde for Franco. Nestor, who will not/cannot accept that, grabs her hand. Eva states the obvious, things are complicated. She is going to try and talk with Franco. Alone.

Angelina and Juan David engage in some kisses as she sips her drink.

Julieta greets Manual outside her room. He glowingly talks about Gloria. He starts to gossip and pulls back.

Franco is dejectedly sitting outside his old home when Eva walks up. He gets up, loaded for bear spewing about her and Nestor, his father’s best friend. She says she came back for him. He doesn’t care. As he stomps off, she calls out she is his mother. She says how sorry she is but he doesn’t soften. She then admits she was with Nestor. His hurt is obvious by his expression and his words; he was a child and abandoned. Eva begs him for another chance. He is immovable. She sobs as he walks away.

Juan David enters the restaurant and comments on the changes. Gloria comes out with small pots of flowers. There is a new set of rules posted on the door. She calls it “her” restaurant and he is outraged. She chases him out. Two men enter dressed in work clothes and her eyes mirror her distaste.

Rosalia visits Lucas. She is done with him; he is a traitor! He calls Nestor “mentirosa” his scorn apparent. She fires back and it seems like they are finally over. She leaves as he fumes.

Hugo takes Carolina and Andres to the recently departed Rene’s barn. Before Hugo leaves, Andres asks about Juanita.

Franco returns and Julieta is there waiting. She is worried about him. She hugs him and sadly, he does not back away. They are holding each other as Lucia rounds the corner. She takes one look and walks off. Although she didn’t see Lucia, Julieta smiles triumphantly, thinking she is working her way into Franco’s heart. Good luck with that I mutter…

Juanita accuses Gloria about discrimination, treating the men the way she did. Angelina seems outraged that Gloria has assumed ownership of the restaurant. She and Juan David storm in, she complains about her treatment of her husband. Angelina seems to be feeling ill again. She runs off gagging. Gloria stands, arms folded, staring judgmentally at Juan David.

Father Gabriel is talking to himself about Carlos when Eva arrives, moaning about Franco, the reason she returned. They discuss Nestor; the good father advises her to try and stay calm. She sits as he leaves.

MONTEVERDE #36, Part 2

Juan David blames Gloria for his wife’s state. They start arguing until Manuel breaks it up. Angelina leaves the ladies room; Juanita has a cup of tea waiting. Angelina makes a nauseous face and she and Juan David leave. Gloria follows them out against the advice Manuel gives her, pleading she leave them alone. Juanita tries to talk to him about Gloria, he insists she is a good woman.

Cárcamo and Doris are cleaning the outside of their house when Carlos arrives, telling them he is looking for his wife and son. Just then Father Gabriel happens by; he sees them and panics. He calls out to Cárcamo and Doris, saying how good they are going to make the place look. He then goes over to Carlos who explains who he is seeking. Father takes the phone to see the picture of Carlos’ prey (err, family) and “accidentally” drops his phone in a bucket of water. Of course the phone doesn’t work and Carlos has to contain his anger. Poor man Cárcamo says to Doris, here he is trying to find his son and the phone is ruined.

Angelina is being examined by Rosalia as on the outs Juan David and Gloria are right there, not giving her a moment’s privacy. The two argue as Rosalia stops them. I am her husband Juan David says, well I am her mother retorts Gloria. Yes, but I am her doctor Rosalia insists as she throws them out. Angelina describes her symptoms to Rosalia. Dr. Rosalia, who was not born yesterday, smiles as she hands her a pregnancy test.

Lucia runs into Rodrigo. She evades his questions but for whatever unfathomable reason, agrees to take a ride on his cycle. Helmuts on.

“Que pasa” Angelina asks. Are you sure she asks eyes wide. Yes Rosalia replies although Angelina remains quiet. Aren’s you happy Rosalia asks? Yes she answers and after a bit, it finally sinks in and she quietly sighs and looks radiant.

Juan David and Angelina arrive home. She toys with him a bit and he demands to know what it is. She tells him he is going to be a father and he faints on the couch!

Lucas mewls to Franco that Rosalia broke up with him because he told him about Eva and Nestor. Franco says things are going badly but in spite of everything that happened as a result, he appreciates Lucas’ loyalty for telling him; He is his hermano.

Juan David is ecstatic about being a father. Angelina is equally delighted as he introduces himself to his child, kissing her stomach. Dancing and excitement ensure.

Father Gabriel puts Carlos’ phone in rice in a baggie (I have heard that it does work. Occasionally). Carlos thanks him but seems exasperated. The good padre is forced to lie that he doesn’t know anything. He gives Carlos a piece of paper to write down his number, promising to call if something comes up. He then gives Carlos his phone number. The padre sort of hurries him out with wishes he hopes he find his family. The father clutches his heart as the door closes as he prays to an even higher power.

Rodrigo and Lucia walk and talk. If anything important was said, I didn’t catch it.

MONTEVERDE #36, Part 3

Hugo rushes back and tells Juanita what happened. They get into her car when Carlos pulls up. “Juanita” he yells. Juanita looking like a deer in the headlights, manages to get out a greeting. Without preamble, Carlos immediately asks where Carolina and Andres are. I don’t know she lies, saying something about another town. She ignores his mood and introduces him to her prometida. Hugo tells him off but Carlos’ eyes are wide open now. (I guess Carlos didn’t recognize Hugo from the bridge). Juanita is upset as she looks after the car.

Andres brings firewood as Carolina sits outside the barn, breathing in the fresh air. Juanita and Hugo pull up; Juanita jumps out of the car telling her Carlos is in Monteverde. She tells her he saw and talked with them as Carolina grimaces.

Rodrigo talks Lucia into going into a restaurant. He seems to order for both of them, wine and ale. They toast with “salud” and both start smiling, their anger momentarily forgotten.

Carlos’ car is breaking down, coming to a grinding halt as he pounds on the streeting wheel in frustration. He opens the hood and oh no, who should drive by but Oscar!!! Oscar stops to help; Carlos says his phone is broken. Oscar offers him a ride!

Juan David comes to the women’s house and the women are effusing about a singer.

Eva tells the good padre she is leaving the pueblo; she thanks him for everything as she wheels her suitcase out.

Carlos is on the phone and I think he can’t get any help until the next day. He tells Oscar he is looking for his wife and son, Andres. “Andres” Oscar asks? Yes, Andres Rojas. And there we end…

Father Gabriel was at his very best tonight; staunch, stalwart and once again, saving the day! What are the odds of Carlos bumping into both Juanita AND Oscar?? Will this spell doom for Carolina? Tune in tomorrow, same bat time, same bat channel! 😊

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 1

Néstor tells Eva that since everyone now knows about them, they can give their relationship a second chance and not hide their feelings. She answers that they would have to leave town. He doesn't have a problem with that. She refuses having come back for her son. Néstor says they can stay. He can find a job somewhere else. He wants her to move in with him. She decides to go take a walk alone to clear her head.

Angelina has a taste for tuna croquettes so Juan David decides to go get her some.

Julieta asks Manuel what is going on since she saw Lucas with an ice pack on his face. It seems like he must have had a fight with somebody. Manuel answers that it has to do with recently revealed secrets that had been kept for years. He suggests that she ask Franco.

Eva tries to explain that when she left, she was so depressed that no matter how much she wanted to and tried to find a way to be happy, she couldn't. She never forgot that she had a child but if she couldn't take care for herself how could she take care of him? It doesn't sound like depression to Franco but more like she wasn't satisfied with her life and Néstor provided the exit. She agrees with all of his criticisms of her and that she was selfish. She begs him to allow her to redeem herself.

Gloria makes it more than clear to Juan David that undesirable people are not allowed in the restaurant and that is what he is. She gets to decide. Gloria tells the workmen that the next time they come they need to bathe, comb their hair and shave.

Rosalía is breaking up for good with Lucas because she cannot trust him. He cannot understand how she can defend Néstor like she does. Néstor doesn't car about her. Rosalía only wanted Lucas' support and empathy but he ended up stabbing her in the back.

The smell of fish (the tuna croquettes?) sends Gloria gagging. (too funny)
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 2

Gloria tells the good father that she is staying in town and will not give up on seeking her son's forgiveness no matter how long it takes. As for Néstor, there is nothing to hide now and he is the only person who understands and supports her. What is more, he has always truly loved her. The good father advises her not to make any hasty decisions.

Juan David decides to take Angelina to the doctor. Gloria insists on tagging along.

The good father says that he has a trick to fix Carlos' phone and takes him back to his house.

PSA: Angelina cannot understand how she got pregnant, she was counting her days like a friend taught her to. Maybe she made a mistake. Rosalía tells her that after she has her baby she will go over much more effective methods of contraception. Angelina tells Rosalía that she is not to mention her pregnancy to her mother. She is going to tell only Juan David.

Lucía asks Rodrigo where he is going. He answers to Zacatillo and asks if she wants to come along. She first refuses but he easily convinces her.

The good father tells Carlos he would know if his wife and child were in town since it s so small. Carlos plans on going door to door anyway. The good father thinks that is not a good idea. The people in town are very suspicious and greet strangers at the end of a shot gun. It is also not good to be on the highway at night. There is a group of outlaws that take advantage of the night to commit their crimes. They are known to take no pity on their victims. He, as the town priest and a very good person, feels that he has to warn him of these things. He tells Carlos that when he gets to Zacatillo, to call him from a certain hotel, that he makes a notation of along with his phone number, to call him to let him know he got there.

The good father tells God that if things keep on going like they are, he won't make it to the new year.

Rodrigo tells Lucía that their mutual friend Gastón is excited to have her work on his team. She says that when she receives the proposal she will give it a look. He still doesn't get why she wants to stay in Monteverde with a novio that might not work out. She reminds him of when he wanted her to quit her job and to go along with him to England so he could get a master's degree. he doesn't thik that being in Monteverde can even begin to compare with being in England. He insists he is only thinking of her professional development and doesn't think she wants to spend her life making pastries in a town on the outskirts of civilization. She warns him to not belittle what she is doing. He thinks she is being defensive.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 3

Juanita tells Carlos that the last time she saw Carolina and Andrés was in Zacatillo. She hasn't been with them for a while now. Carolina told he that they were headed to Chiapas. Carlos doesn't believe her at all. She asks what reason would she have to lie to him. She is in Monteverde because that is where the love of her life lives. . He threatens her saying if she is lying, she will have to deal with the consequences. That is when Hugo gets involved informing Carlos that he can't talk to his fiancée that way. Carlos and his pointy finger tell Juanita that if Carolina calls, to let her know that he will find her no matter where she is. She answers she will. Hugo thinks she did a good job handling Carlos. He himself even believed her when she said she had found the love of her life aka him. She changes to topic back to Carlos. Hugo thinks he is gone for good. They decide to go pick up Carolina and Andrés and bring them back to town.

Juantia gives Carolina Carlos' message. Shei s confident that he will never find them now that Monteverde is no longer an option.

Rodrigo doesn't understand what the big deal is for Lucía eating at a restaurant with him. She finally gives in.

Oscar is going to take Carlos back to his house to call his insurance company for help. Carlos remarks that he heard that the people in this town were not very sociable. Oscar agrees that is sort of how it is.

As Rodrigo knows exactly what to order for Lucía, she smiles remembering how well he knows her. He asks what did he expect since she is the most important person . . . She stops him. He admits even if they never get back together again, he will never stop loving her. Lucía makes it clear that she doesn't want to talk to him about that. They remember and laugh about being in Cancún on the beach where it was so windy they couldn't open their eyes and having to send thie food back.

Juan David is at the inn trying to get a job as a cleaning man two or three times a week. They like the idea but will have to ask "Sister Celeste." They ask why he needs another job. He answers that a little extra money never hurts. Some of the women come in all excited that they found a male stripper agency on line and cannot believe the amount of money the men make like 4,000 pesos ($223) an hour. Juan David cannot believe it either. The women have to explain it is because the men do an "artistic" show. The women are enthralled by all of the photos. Juan David stands there . . . thinking. . . and finally interrupts the women saying they can let him know if they want to hire him to clean. He offers to help out with the bachelorette party they are planning. The question is what can he do since he only has eyes for Angelina. He answers he was just saying . . . and leaves.

Eva tells the good father she is moving in with Néstor. She doesn't care if they are the topic of town gossip. It won't be easy but that is what she is going to do.

Carlos needs a place to stay. Oscar says there is only one place in town and there are usually no vacancies. Oscar offers him a room at his house for the night. Carlos accepts.

Thank you for your oh so enlightening summary Jarifa. Extraordinarily well written, as always.

"Carlos and his pointy finger tell Juanita that if Carolina calls, to let her know that he will find her no matter where she is". He has me convinced! I'm shocked Carolina doesn't see the imminent danger she is in.

So rather than just staying, quietly being there in case there is any opportunity to grow closer to Franco, Eva decides the answer is to move in with Nestor? Color me confused. Talk about "sticking it" in both Oscar and Franco's faces!! Eva will surely be an outcast and I don't have a scintilla of sympathy.

I'm equally confused that Lucia is actually consider taking the job. I don't think Rodrigo is being either sufficiently repentant or personable. As Carlos used to say, "Next!"

I'm happy for Angelina and Juan David but fear Angelina's exciting news will not stay buried for long! Surely Gloria will never let her daughter out of her sight then!

I did not understand any of the male stripper discussion so truly appreciate what transpired. Juan David as a stripper? Now that would be something!

I will be on the edge of my seat tonight...Carlos staying at Oscar's??? What could possibly go wrong? :(

Papas #46 part 1

Weeks before Bill is telling Tino he wants to be with Emi. Tino just wonders if he’s interested in Aide. He says he’s always been a gentleman. Then we see the kids telling Emi they miss him and he says he’ll come home as Bill feels
Aide needs him. Tino talks to himself about committing many errors but he’s going to fight for his kids.



Now we’re on the present and Tino takes Alexander. Aide says they’re not going to fight in front of Alexander. Gisela comes in and takes him and Aide tells Bill to go.

Aurelio finds papers in Herman’s room and pockets them.

Circe is telling Edith how much she enjoyed the photo shoot with Checo and her. She tells Edith they used to be a couple. Edith tells her, yes, she’s interested in Checo, but also interested in her!

Tino is upset that Lila is working for Bill and they never told him. Now with Circe working there he worries Circe will find out why Lila left. He wants to see Alexander more. He wants him to stay at his house some. Aide says he can see Alexander here but never with Melina at their place. He says then he doesn’t want Bill being here with Alexander.

Circe literally runs from Edith as she gets up and says she has to go.

Serena is real excited about working with Melina until Melina tells her they don’t have any money. But Melina has a plan to get her more followers to get the money rolling in.

Poncho and his friend see a poster. You can win a cash scholarship. Poncho see,s to want to go for it.

Tino says he has rights as the father and has always accepted his responsibilities. Aide says the older kids are one thing, but Scarlet, Emi and Alexander are minors and she doesn’t want them near Melina. They decide to work this out without arguing and to talk to the kids.

Clara Luz goes to meet Martin. He and Gibron have talked about her a lot. They seem to be in Gibron’s studio and he wants Clara Luz to be in a musical.

Papas #46 part 2

Gisela is with Alexander when Aurelio comes in. I was sure he would show her the papers but Hernan walks in and Aurelio says he has to get back to work.

Circe comes home all upset about Edith, she needs to talk to someone and begins to text Checo but decides no, then texts someone that never lets her down.

Tino and Rudolf are talking. Rudolf tells Tino that at least he can see his kids. He can’t see Pipe or Natalia. He says it’s difficult to work with Nazario, and also with Clara Luz. He wonders if the band is hiring. Tino tells him no, and he’s giving guitar lessons to supplement his income. Then his dad calls.

Clara Luz tells Aide how Nazario turned on them. It she doesn’t want that to turn Aide against them. She’s accepted her dream job. Aide gets a call from Bill. He was worried about her when he left her with Tino. Also wanted to bring Emi to his apartment to see his mom. She says as long as he is there too. She goes back to Aide who wonders if she and Bill are intimate yet. She’ll tell her, but it stays between them.

Scarlet is talking to Emi about her team, basketball maybe. She wants Íker on it too but he lives far, then he walks past and they call him over. Tino arrives to drive them all home and is happy to see them together. Íker asks if he’s taking them to Aide’s home or theirs. The kids pick up on this and want to know why he didn’t tell them.

Prisma comes in with the kids. Rudolf and Clara Luz arrive wanting to see the kids. Prisma hesitates but lets them in. Pipe doesn’t want to interact with them. Natalia tells them she misses them.

Bill comes to get Emi, Emi asks if he’ll take Scarlet home. They leave and I Kernish is mad at Tino because he didn’t tell the kids and now they’re mad at him.

Emi wants to get out with Scarlet. After learning about Tino he doesn’t want to see his mother. Bill agrees, but tells them not to be too hard on Tino.

Circe is telling Uli her news, or problem. He thinks it’s normal and no big deal, she can’t believe how he’s changed and tells him to go as Tino comes in. Then Circe gets a call from Bill. She starts her job tomorrow, she’s excited and has to go. Tino makes a remark about being the savior or the family. Earlier he had called him saint Bill.

Paulina tells Bill she’ll visit Emi tomorrow at Aide’s. Bill tells her no, she’ll see him in a neutral place. She tries to get close but he’s not interested.

Clara Luz are visiting just with Natalia. Prisma brings Pipe out to say goodbye. It’s very rote. Just then Nazario comes in wondering if they’re having a party. When they leave Nazario asks Prisma why she let them in.

Jeni is telling Chofis she still can’t go to her dad. Chofis thinks Cheno will be upset. Jeni walks off and Poncho walks in telling Chofis about the Olympics he’s going to enter to win money to help his mom. He has a pain and Chofis wonders if he’s ok.

Bill talks to rice about the job. Then he tells her Lila works there. Circe thinks it’s great, she’ll get to know her sister again.

Rudolf is upset that he learned about her new job when she told the kids. He wonders if they’ll still get an apartment together and she tells him Aide offered her a room in her house. They’ll remain united in getting Pipe back.

Pipe asks to leave the table. Nazario says their family is the best medicine for him, no more acting crazy. Natalia says Clara Luz is working at the studio and maybe they’ll be able to sing again. He says they don’t need, Clara Luz, he can get them jobs singing.

Chofis wonders what’s wrong with Poncho. He says it’s nothing. But she’s here to help him.

Tino is worried he’s losing his kids. Melina says a mother like Aide would turn his kids against him but she’s got it under control. When she leaves Tino sends a group test to the kids telling them he’s afraid of losing them.

Poncho tells Chofis he’s not a virgin now. She thinks they should go to the clinic. He doesn’t want his mom to know. Chofis says she has to know but first they’ll go to the clinic. At the clinic Poncho tells Chofis he has to go back. She offers to go after her last class but he’ll go alone.

Paulina is reading a text from the lawyer about Emi and Jason’s estate. She calls Bill, telling him he has to meet with the lawyer. Bill doesn’t seem rushed to do it. Emi has therepy. Paulina seems annoyed.

Tino has a class of about 5 students.

Hernan wonders why Aurelio is still in the house. He pulls out the papers. A receipt for the jewelry he sold. Soon everyone will know that he’s a thief, not Aurelio.

Poncho is with a doctor. He has a treatable infection caused by unprotected sex.

Paulina shows up to talk to Melina. Melina tells her Aide and Tino are now divorced. Paulina is sure that makes Melina happy. Melina tells her Aide has someone in her life. Then Aide and Bill walk out. Paulina tells Aide Bill is very good ad comforting newly separated woman.

The old tired bachelorette party plot could be a hoot if Juan David gets involved.

I still do not understand how Lucía is even talking to Rodrigo let alone going anywhere with him after him standing her up at the altar. I am having a hard time suspending my disbelief on that plot line. It simply doesn’t ring true enough. Thanks for the Carlos quote. He would probably be a Julieta fan.

Yes, indeed, what could possibly go wrong?

Liz, thanks to your excellent details, I now have an understanding of what transpired last night. There were a few scenes that were over my head so thank you!

I feel as though the children are being pulled back and forth between Aide and Tino (with Melina lighting the fire!). Aide is right though, the younger children should be kept away from Melina! And also, could Nazario get any more detestable? Answer: of course he can. Blech.

Paulina is not one to be trifled with. Does Bill really think she isn't going to freak out when she learns he is interested in Aide??? I am hoping Paulina and Melina cancel each other out. Paulina is devious but Melina is just evil.

Good thing Chofis helped Poncho...

I was also hoping Aurelio would hold onto that slip and give it to Gisela so she could see exactly what happened to her jewelry. Now Hernan knows he is on to him which isn't good!

"The old tired bachelorette party plot could be a hoot if Juan David gets involved" has me smiling in anticipation. Of course my fervent wish is that somehow Hugo gets involved in the festivities. That would be so much fun!

To be honest, when I see Rodrigo on the screen, my interest wanes and I feel only annoyance that he is taking up valuable screen time! :(

So I wonder what will happen now that Carlos is Oscar's houseguest for the night! :)

Liz, wow. Thank you for a wonderful recap of all drama. Tonto is starting to wake up, I hope. Melina hasn't gotten into his bed yet , and I hope she never succeeds. Are Tonto's guitar students happy with his instruction ?
Aurelio seems confident that he has caught treacherous Hernan, but Hernan is a tricky ,slippery guy.
Am i correct that Poncho' s teasing " friend" took him to a lady of the evening !?Chofis has grown up quickly and has become a mother hen to the kids in that house.
Prisma appears to be giving nasty Naz a lot of disgusted looks. Susan

Papas #47 part 1

The night before Tino sends a group message to his kids, he’s their papa for always, loves them and wants them to be happy.

Tino talks to Rudolf about having a band reunion, I think he’s talking about including his students, plus all of them. Rudolf thinks he’ll have to clear it with Prisma and Nazario. Tino suggests asking the kids first.

Aide repeats what Paulina said about Bill. Bill says what he thinks she meant and Paulina agrees with him. She doesn’t understand why Paulina is there, she was supposed to see Emi in Bill’s apartment. She and Bill leave.

Hernan tells Aurelio that Gisela won’t believe him. Then he says he knows something of his past, Aurelio said his mother was sick and he was desperate but has regretted what he did. So now they each have something on the other, and no one’s talking to anyone!

Bill is furious with Paulina for what she said about him to Aide(good at consoling newly divorced woman). Then he pulls a surprise, she’s not the only one who has contacts in the states, he knows her interest in Emi is Jason’s fortune. If he tells Aide they had a relationship she’ll never see Emi or the fortune. So he apparently didn’t know at first, maybe.

Poncho is with the doctor. He’s lucky he had symptoms so soon. If he takes the medicine he’ll be fine. He goes home and talks to Chofis, who says he’s lucky he caught it early. She says he should tell his mother but he doesn’t want to. It will be their secret, except they catch Yeni eavesdropping.

Bill is with Emi for his therapy when Tino comes in and wants to talk to him. He tells him about getting the group back together and making a recording. Emi wonders why, and Tino says to have the siblings doing this together..Emi points out he has a new family with Íker and Melina. Then Paulina shows up wanting to go to the therapy with Emi.

Circe is with her friend when Edith texts. Her friend says, oh, you new best friend. They sit down and Edith appears, wanting to talk to,Circe. She says she has a class but her friend says, what class. She leaves so they can talk. Edith doesn’t want to lose their friendship. Rice says it’s not that, she felt something when Edith said she liked her. She didn’t expect it and she doesn’t like girls, or does she. Edith tells her to take her time and she won’t send 500 texts! Circe admits that was freaking her out.

Scarlet tells Uli Tino’s living arrangements. He was surprised

Gisela apologizes again to Aurelio for accusing him of stealing her jewelry. He asks her if she and Hernan are intimate. She denies it strongly by hitting herself many times.

Hernan asks Melina for his share of the money again. She can’t give it to him yet, it has to be laundered. Uli walks up to them, not sure if he heard much. He asks Hernan if he’s ready for another computer lesson. As Hernan leaves, Uli walks up to Melina and tells her he knows she and Íker are living with his dad. He accuses her of destroying the family but she says she didn’t put a gun to Tino.

Paulina tells Emi she’s sure he’ll walk again. When he admits he’s sad that Tino and Aide are separated she tells him they’re not important, she and Bill are his real parents that love him. Aide and Tino have the other kids and aren’t that interested in him. I’ll comes up and agrees they love him.

Melina tells Uli there’s nothing between her and Tino. But look how quickly his mother and Bill hooked up. If something happens between them no one can say anything. Uli seems to know something about Melina. She says he should change his major, he’s a good storyteller. She leaves and he gets a text from his dad, asking a favor. He wants to talk to him.He tells him about everyone being in a group again. Uli isn’t interested. Tino thinks it will bring them together, Uli says it will separate them.

Clara Luz and Rudolf talk. Rudolf says their separation is just temporary, right?

Papas #47 part 2

Serena helps Chachito with his homework, then is telling Cheno about her work with Karina. Poncho is running off to get something before school and Melina texts her. Tino walks in totalk to them and Checo and Chofis.

Bill is telling Aide there’s nothing between him and Paulina. Aide wasn’t born yesterday. Bill says she tried to get him back but he wasn’t interested. Uli comes in and Bill leaves.

Hernan is showing Gisela a graph of his business with the green lines going up. Gisela would rather have money in her purse. He’ll show her on the computer in Maximax. Just then her phone goes off but she doesn’t answer. Hernan asks if it was Aurelio, she says it was an unknown number. He said something about Aurelio. I didn’t catch that.

Uli asks Aide if she’s dating Bill. She says she’s not ready to be in a relationship. Uli says everything is confusing, Tino is with Melina, Melina is back at Maximax. She admits it’s confusing, she’s going to see Alexander. He gets a text from Cindy.

Poncho comes out of the store and Yeni is there. She says if she’d know he wanted to lose his virginity she would have helped, and there’d be a second time. His friend walks up, impressed.

Tino tells the C family about getting the old group together, partly to keep his,kids close. They look real serious, but then they all talk at once, they’ll do it, it’s a great idea.

Hernan tells Fisela some story about his wallet being stolen and Aurelio somehow was going to blame Hernan for missing money. She needs to have confidence in him, not Aurelio. She agrees. She tells some story about one of her stepdaughters and it sounds like she got the ex’s money instead of her stepdaughter. She wasn’t sure which husband it was. But she and Hernan will have a romantic getaway, just not in Monterey.

Clara Luz and Rudolf about Pipe singing with the old group. He says no, he has a sister he can sing with. Prisma asks him to let Pipe do it, still a no. He calls Pipe out and asks him if he wants to and Pipe says No.

Rice tells Tino about her job. He asks about singing again. She says yes. He hasn’t asked Scarlet, but Uli said no, not sure about Emi. Circe says it won’t be the same without Lila. Tino agrees, Íker is listening.

At work they first are talking about Serena’s numbers, Nazario is acting his usual self. Then he says Tino is getting his kids into their old group. Aide asks,if it’s true, she didn’t know, I don’t think Melina knew either.

Apparently the stepdaughter is trying to get her money. Hernan suggests selling her jewelry and putting part in the cryptos and part in an account the stepdaughter can’t get to. He’ll help, Gisela is so grateful.

Tino comes to see Lila. She’s mad that he’s there. He asks if she told the secret, she didn’t. He tells her he wants the kids to get together and sing again. If she does this he’ll never bother her again.

Chofis tries to get Uli to sing. He’s not interested. He’s not happy his dad is with Melina. Chofis said her dad said she’s like a robot. Uli gets a text, from Guzman.

Uli is telling Hernan that Tino will always be his dad, he’s always been there for him. He mentions his sexual abuse and Hernan says he’s sorry. Then Hernan is talking to Melina. She says she knows Uli’s hiding something. Hernan found nothing on the computer. She finds the news about Guzman.

Back to Uli and Chofis. Chofis wonders if they should call the police. Uli thinks it might be someone playing a cruel joke.

MONTEVERDE #37, Part 1

A repeat of Carlos telling Oscar he is in search of his wife and son, Andres. “Andres” Oscar says? Oscar offers him shelter for the night.

Carolina thanks Hugo and Juanita as she and Andres head inside the women’s residence. Juanita gives him a huge smile much to his delight.

Eva and Nestor are hugging just as Franco comes around the corner. Nestor pulls back announcing Franco’s arrival. Eva stands firm and doesn’t run. Franco shakes his head, not believing what he is seeing.

Oscar arrives and asks to speak with Juanita alone.

Franco insults Nestor and calls him a traitor. “Franco por favor” his mother asks. Nestor explains they were together many years. Franco knows that and what they did to his father. Eva calls after him but Nestor holds her back. This is so difficult Eva tells her. He kisses her hand and takes her suitcase inside.

Oscar tells Juanita Andre’s father is in Monteverde. At HIS house; he explains the car issues. Oscar obviously doesn’t put two and two together. I believe Oscar believes Juanita is Carlos’ wife and Andres’ mother (please correct me if I am wrong). Juanita bursts inside the house and tells Carolina who is impactada. Carolina brings up Moises as she and Juanita go back and forth. Carolina naturally frets about the cell phone pictures Carlos will show everyone of her and Andres.

Franco runs into Rosalia. He tells her he knows she broke up with Lucas because he broke her confidence. He tries to explain but she cuts him off, not wanting to hear it. She then lights into him about Julieta when all of a sudden, Rodrigo and Lucia fly by on his cycle. Initially fuming, Franco manages to be calm when he walks up to them. I smiled as Rosalia virtually tells Rodrigo to get lost. (If only he would I say cynically). Franco tells Lucia she is the most important person in his life and that he loves her. He wants her to marry him! She doesn’t think that getting married is the answer. He keeps trying to convince her and although disappointed, seems to accept her answer which is no. She puts her hands on his face and her feelings for him are clear. He sighs with regret as she walks away.

Uh oh. Moises comes out and asks Carlos who he is. Carlos explains and Oscar guides him out of the room. Behind closed doors, Oscar tells Moises “that man” is Andres’s father but he is not a good man. He is seeking Juanita who is Andres’ mother. Moises simply stares.

Andres frets to Carolina about his father returning.; she tries to reassure him.

Lucia explains Franco’s latest romantic venture to Rosalia. She doesn’t want to marry him.

MONTEVERDE #37, Part 2

The women play cards as Carolina arrives; she is excited when she hears Doris’ news about the house and how she came by it. “Oscar is marvelous” she muses as Trinidad eyes her suspiciously… Carolina tries to erase her besotted smile…

Augustin arrives to give Carlos a lift. Oscar wants him to take him to Zacatillo and for him not to come back.

Juan David and Angelina enjoy breakfast and chat about the baby.

Elsewhere, Gloria kisses Manuel as she comes down for breakfast. Sensing something is up with Angelina, Gloria argues Rosalia is the doctor but SHE is the mother.

Oscar takes Carolina out of the classroom. I think he seems to wonder if Andres’ mother is responsible. I believe the gist of this is that Carolina passionately says Andre’s mother has had to deal with much and staunchly defends her. She gets upset and he backs off, not having meant to upset her. In the end, she backs off and walks away smiling.

Juan David arrives to talk with Father Gabriel. He is bursting at the seams and after much back and forth, he admits Angelina is pregnant! He is going to be a papa. Father Gabriel is beyond thrilled; the men hug and jump up and down. More joy and dancing. Juan David has to put a lid on the Father’s enthusiasm – Gloria cannot know! He agrees and asks for a hug.

There is a knock on Nestor’s door. It is Rosalia bearing delicacies. He tells her he and Eva are together. She tells him she is happy for him as she hugs him. He looks shocked and none too happy but awkwardly places his hand on her back.

One of the women comes into Juan David and (I think) gives him the name of someone who is interested in having him houseclean (?)

Trinidad and another woman visit Manuel’s and I think want to arrange for some “entertainment”. Gloria glares.

Carlos is dropped off and Augustin follows him on foot.

Eva and Nestor enjoy the cupcakes; Nestor seems very happy they are together after all these years.

Franco and Lucas discuss their romantic and personal problems, then head out for Oscar’s.

Hay is being delivered as Augustin reports to Oscar that Carlos has checked into a hotel. Perfect is the answer.

MONTEVERDE #37, Part 3

Doris’s sister arrives and introduces herself to a smiling Hugo. Juanita quickly stands between them, not liking the vibes. Hugo looks a bit smitten and so does sis. Juanita turns and stonily stares at Hugo who quickly stops smiling and busies himself. 😊

Juan David asks Hugo for a favor, to borrow his car. Hugo graciously hands him the keys.

Lucas and Franco are on a virtual call with Antonella. I could not translate; something about his father being Mexican rather than Italian. She did not have a photo of his father to share with him.

Oscar enters the women’s house and Carolina greets him. Are you alone he asks? No, Andres is here. A bit of flirting ensues. He wants her to go with him but won’t tell her where. Esta bien she agrees.

“Be careful” Oscar cautions a blindfolded Carolina. They are in front of the school and it appears the renovations are now complete…she stares unsmilingly.

Juan David and a strapping young man get into Hugo’s car. Now I’m thinking he is interested in more of a dancing rather than cleaning gig. 😊

Carlos tells Padilla of his trials and that he met Juanita. He looks convinced that Carolina and Andres are very close by.

I took some liberal guesses here as there were several conversations I couldn’t follow… I can’t wait to see Juan David’s sure to be excellent adventure! I enjoyed the arrival of Doris’ sister who looks exactly like her (great casting). Little things here and there make for perfect additions.

I was surprised Eva decided to move in with Nestor. She surely must realize that will kill any chance of a reconciliation with Franco, right??

The new year is right around the corner! Wishing you all a healthy and happy 2026…

Another outstanding job Liz! Fantastic recap with wonderful details. You translate so very well...

I am completely dismayed at the possibility of Guzman's return. I say that as I'm not totally convinced it IS actually Guzman. There has been no picture of the actor in any of the opening sequences nor in the credits. That doesn't necessarily mean anything but I fervently hope I'm right. That storyline was so brutal, I give Uli so much credit for his strength and resilience. The fact Melina is "Cindy" literally makes me ill and I dread when and how she is going to reveal herself.

"Edith tells her to take her time and she won’t send 500 texts!" So Circe isn't disinterested. It will be interesting to see where this goes, if indeed it does go somewhere.

Bill HAS been with Paulina recently and he's lied to Aide about it. Not an auspicious beginning for a romance (although it's no spoiler that Aide and Tino will likely be together at the end). He was promising though and he does love Emi.

"When he admits he’s sad that Tino and Aide are separated she tells him they’re not important, she and Bill are his real parents that love him. Aide and Tino have the other kids and aren’t that interested in him". Paulina isn't quite as low as Melina, but she is contemptible nevertheless.

I do feel for Tino having such a snake for a father. Wait until everything is revealed. I have no pity for Gisela, she needs to wake up and see what a phony he is.

This could sure use a few rays of sunshine, couldn't it??

Liz, you are doing a fantastic job with this. You have gone above and beyond already. If you are up to watching even part of future episodes and make comments, that would be more than enough. You have been wonderful to do this as you recover but I've always felt trying to do two hour recaps is just too much.

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 1

Thank you, Diana.

Franco notices his mother's luggage. Eva says yes, she and Néstor have decided to give their relationship a chance. Néstor tells him that his mother has the right to remake her life. Franco answers that if they had any decency, they would leave town. Néstor answers that he has a house and a life in Monteverde so that isn't so easy to do. Franco insists he should leave. He sarcastically ends his tirade adding that Néstor and Eva were made for each other.

Oscar believes that Juanita is Andrés' mother's (Carolina's) sister. She tells Oscar that Carlos has no idea she has Andrés. His mother Carolina never told him. Juanita has seen Andrés grow and thinks of him as a son.

Rosalía tells Franco that he has really ruined things with his jealousy and acting like an idiot. . Does he really think Lucía would go back with a guy who left her at the altar? She thinks not. She tells him the time has come to make Lucía feel special and more important than Julieta. He says he has told her he loves her. Lucía says that is the problem she sees everything he does for Julieta and all she gets is his jealousy. He needs to show her she is the love of his life not with words but with actions.

Carolina is worried that Moisés could talk to Carlos about his friend Andrés.
Juanita says they have to trust Oscar to manage things. Carolina bemoans how the lies keep growing and growing. Juanita hates to tell her but she should have told Oscar the truth already. A frustrated Carolina doesn't want to be scolded for that! Juanita reminds her that tomorrow Carlos will be gone forever.

After the proposal, Lucía tells Franco that a proposal is not something to be taken lightly. They have barely started getting to know each other. She also loves him but love isn't something that necessarily guarantees a future. He says he understands and wants them to get back together. She disagrees thinking of so many things they have to straighten out in their own lives. She thinks they need to take a break from their relationship so when they they restart it, they will be stronger and more sure than ever.

Lucía tells Rosalía that she and Franco have lots of things to resolve in their own lives before getting married like the issue of Julieta's child. Rosalía says they talked about that already. Lucía agrees but is sure Julieta is going to continue to cause problems. Rosalía thinks that if she doesn't go back with Franco, she will be serving him up on a silver platter to Julieta.

Carolina tells the women they can hire Juan David to clean 2 or 3 times a week.
They are also organizing a bachelorette party for Doris. As Carolina marvels at Oscar helping Cárcamo with the down payment, Doris says if she weren't a nun she would say she was in love with Oscar. Carolina gets the smile off her face and explains she was only saying that Oscar is a very good person. Nobody ever thought he had such a big heart.

Juan David tells Angelina about his possible cleaning job so they won't feel stressed out about the baby expenses. *He also is looking into some other kind of work that he can do at night.* Angelina says she can get another job too. He says no. She needs to be at home taking care of herself. That is all that matters.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte2

Yes, Oscar does wonder about the role of Andrés' mother is all this. He has never seen the boy's mother but has seen his father looking for him. Enraged, Carolina asks him if he thinks it has been easy for Andrés' mother hiding from the police without a peso in her purse all because of Andrés' father being a swindler and making her take the fall for him. Oscar thinks it isn't fair for Andrés to be here without his parents either. *Then Carolina slips up.* She asks him if he thinks it is right for her to never see Andrés again. He doesn't understand what she is saying. She calms down and says that she and Juanita love Andrés a lot. He calms her down saying nobody knows better than her how things are with Andrés and his family. He asks her to tell Carolina that Andrés is out of danger. He doesn't like to see Carolina upset like that.

Rosalía visits Néstor trying to set things right after she told Lucas about Eva and has brought Néstor some cupcakes because as they say "Sorrows are less with bread." He doesn't thank her and says he feels better now that everything is out in the open. She is happy for him that he is back with Eva and wishes him the best. He deserves to be happy. She hugs him and he flinches clearly displeased and ends up patting her on the back.

One of the women tells Juan David that he has the job cleaning at the inn. Today they need him to go into Zacatillo (corner of Allende and Mina) and pick up the guy they need for Doris' bachelorette party tonight and afterwards give him a lift back. She pays him. The woman asks if Angelina will be coming. She says yes. The woman knows she won't want to miss out on the mezcal. *Angelina says she can't drink and quickly adds that she is having stomach problems."

The women want to have the bachelorette party at Manuel's. Manuel says YES! Gloria thinks not. They are not operating a dive bar. The women remind them of all of the sales they would have. They do not want to have it at the inn because Andrés is there and could be disturbed as this could go late into the night. Manuel thinks it is a good idea. In the future maybe they could do more events.
He starts panning what kind of platters of food he could put together.

Eva wishes her relationship with Franco could be like that Néstor has with Rosalía. Néstor confesses that Rosalía s a lovely person but beyond that he feels nothing for her. Yes, he is serious, just because she is his daughter doesn't mean that he has to love her. Eva gets it but thinks he might develop some sort of affection for her as time goes by and he has more interactions with her. Néstor agrees it could happen.

Franco says that Lucas doesn't need Rosalía to get on line or his e-mail. He can help him at his father's house.

Diana, Doris' sister, seems impressed that Hugo's last name is Toro (bull).

Lucas talks to Antonella who made the trip to Mexico with her mother. She will send him a photo from the trip. There is only one since back then you din't take as as many photos as you do today.She tells him that his mother returned from Mexico pregnant. His father is Mexican not Italian but she has no idea who he might have been. Her mother never wanted to talk about him.

Doris' friend a sister want her to wear something more sexy. Doris doesn't get why. She has no plans of hooking up with the stripper. They try to convince her that it is a special occasion and might call for a dress or a skirt. Doris says all she has is what she had on the bus thinking she was going to stay only one night in Monteverde. Her sister has a blue dress for her to wear.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 3

Juan David tries to get as much information as he can about his job from the stripper. He does anywhere from 1 to 6 shows a week. A lot of people won't do his job because of a sense of modesty but he finds it to be really fun and he makes enough. It isn't a hard job if you like to dance, have a sense of rhythm and are uninhibited. For him, it started out as a game with his friends. They invited him to a strip show for women and he liked the job. Juan David thinks it sounds really great.

Carlos describes his trip to Monteverde as an odyssey and it turned out badly.
Detective Parrilla reports that he was in two towns and found nothing.Carlos says he found Juanita, his former employee, who said she is now living in Monteverde. According to her, Carolina and Andrés went to Chiapas and she has not heard from them since but he doesn't believe her at all. He wants detective Padilla to go to Monteverde because, more than ever, he thinks that Carolina and Andrés are hiding there.

Thanks for your comments. Susan, yes, Poncho used a “lady of the evening”! His friend took him to the park where there was a group of ladies and called one over. Now Poncho regrets doing it, as Chofis did in the first go-round. Jeni is trouble, in my opinion, she needs to move out!

Diana, I’m pretty sure Melina sent the text from Guzman. At the end when she was thinking, she talked about finding where they’re vulnerable, and attack there. Also I thought when she was reading the article she, said muerte, which would make Guzman dead. I didn’t put it in the recap because I wasn’t sure if that was said.

I might try to do just highlights of the second part. I’m a slow recapper, and I was tired and my fingers were worn out yesterday after the first hour. I hope this is just double episodes this week! And I wonder why they’re doing it.

Although they have both behaved abominably, I admit to being both puzzled and fascinated by Eva and Nestor’s determination to stay. Eva purports to love her son and this is what she does? Further, she said she didn’t love Nestor.

Lucia is right that she and Franco take a break. The situation is untenable; I’m sure Julieta will slip up sooner or later.

Juan David has quite the burgeoning careers – cleaner by day and now stripper at night! This is going to be fun.

“Diana, Doris' sister, seems impressed that Hugo's last name is Toro (bull)”. My namesake is pretty sassy and is sure to be a fly in the ointment for Juanita and Hugo! I can’t wait to see what happens.

Liz, Univision has pulled quite a few inexplicable schedule changes over the years and I am afraid they are now doing it with Papas.

In order to hurry along the next show, they start doubling up on episodes, many times without warning. Looking at next week's schedule, that appears to be happening with Papas. In the past, when a show has not been performing well, they have sometimes been yanked from primetime and put on daytime. I have no idea what their current ratings are...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...I truly appreciate your fantastic recaps and thank you for all you've done.

What another fun episode! And now we have to wait until tomorrow.😕

Anyway, Néstor and Eva are a curious couple to say the least. She seems like a lost soul and he lacks sympathy or empathy for anyone except maybe her. His comments about Rosalía are most likely realistic but his expressing them the way he does is so off-putting but not to Eva. Yup, those two were made for each other.

I was happy that Gloria didn’t get to stop the bachelorette party.

Juan David is cute and confident but male strippers have much more toned physiques. Yes, this is going to be fun.

I agree that it was smart of Lucía to put her relationship with Franco on hold for the present time.

Then there is Hugo. Juanita needs to reel him in before another woman does!

Carolina looked a bit sad seeing that the school had been remodeled already maybe thinking that her days as Sister Celeste are numbered.

How long can Angelina keep her pregnancy a secret?

Papas #47 part 3

Scarlet is upset and thinks her dad and !Elian are dating. Íker denies it and feels she’s like Emi and is jealous that his dad has decided to live with him. He also blames El Chacal, which Scarlet doesn’t buy. She gets a text as Emi comes in and asks if she got a text too.

Serena says Maximax is going to help her career as an influencer. Chano sees Chofis looking sad and tells her she can tell him anything. She tells about the text Uli got. Chano insists Fuzman is in jail.

Gisela has a workman working on her bathroom. Aurelio wonders why. She tells him he can go, as he turns he blames Hernan.

Lila takes Circe around the corner at work. All the siblings are there. Lila asks them to sing together as Tino wanted. Do it for Tino. They decide to do it. Tino is happy to see them together. Uli texts Aide, she wonders why they’re all together.

Íker is excited that his siblings will be recording a song. He doesn’t sing. Melina says he inherited the musical ability of his dad but the siblings don’t consider him one of them. He looks hurt as he asks if that’s what she thinks.

Bill is giving Aide a pep talk as she worries about Maximax. He’ll be there for her. She hopes the other kids will accept him. He mentions Tino is with the kids.

Martin is talking with Clara Luz about when the studio is free. He says Saturday. Clara Luz mentions Pipe and Natalie and Martin knew about them. She can’t talk about it yet. He tells her he’s there for her.

Nazario is setting up a recording studio for the kids. He tells the guy money is no problem. And he’ll have no trouble getting them to perform. Meanwhile the twins are in their room saying how Rudolf and Clara Luz knew how to sing, knew the notes etc. They both miss them, but when Prisma comes in and asks pipe if he wants to talk to Rudolf he looks excited but then says no. Natalie wants to talk to him so Prisma calls him. As they talk Pipe looks sad. I wonder what Nazario is telling him.

Chofis tells Uli she told her dad about Guzman. He doesn’t want anyone to know. When they’re finished he gets a text from Cindy asking to meet, they’re taking it to the next level as Melina calls him stupid. She asks Hernan to look for something on Uli’s computer so he goes into his room, needing a lesson. As Uli opens his laptop he tells Hernan his dad and Melina are living together. Hernan acts surprised, he didn’t know.

Clara Luz is at the studio with the kids. Checo tells Circe he’ll have more time when his project is finished. Chofis tells Uli the text was probably a bad joke. Tino is not there yet. He can’t find his phone and then Melina thinks Íker ate something, she’s waiting to see if he has a reaction. Tino will stay with him too.

Papas #47 part 4

Gisela thinks the recording is silly, Aide is happy her kids are doing something together. She gets a call from Aurelio. He needs to talk to her privately, without Gisela and Hernan knowing.

Clara Luz can’t get Tino to answer his phone. One of the kids says he’d rather be with Íker. Clara Luz says they’re professionals and organizes them as she continues to call Tino

Íker is bad, they’ve brought him to the hospital. Tino asks Melina where his phone is.

Cheno is ready to go to the gym with Chachito and Serena. Jeni informs him she’ll be staying until the end of the month. Poncho is staying home to study and clean. When they leave Jeni sits close to him. His friend comes in and wonders if he’s interrupting something.

As they leave the hospital Íker wants to know why Tino isn’t including him in the recording. He says this,is a special reunion for the kids that did it before. He’ll include him and Alexander later.

Jeni tells Poncho she’s going to see her in-laws, then corrects to his parents. His friend gets real excited about their chance with Jeni.

The kids are singing and Aide comes in. Lila gives her a glare. Tino comes in and apologizes. They all are concerned about Íker. Clara Luz announces she’s their producer and they did great, but she misses Pipe being with them. Tino and Aide decide no more fighting.

The twins are singing and doing poorly, no life in their singing.Nazario is furious. He insists they keep singing and try harder.

Melina is on the phone with Hernan, insisting he find something in Iker’s computer. She tells him not to mess up anything but copy it. He puts in a hard drive.

Rino’s group are doing great! They’ll go out for pizza to celebrate. Circe gets a text from Edith asking if she’s busy that night. She’s smiling and Checo wonders who texted. Chofis says they have to go. As Lila leaves she reminds Tino that if she got the group together he promised to disappear from her life. She says bye to Aide.

Hernan is not done downloading when he hears Gisela. He pulls the hard drive out and comes out. He was looking because he couldn’t find anyone at home. He suggests they plane their trip. She’s worried about the stepdaughter. He’ll move her money to a different account.

Circe gets a text and needs to go. They wonder if it’s a date, where’d she meet him, etc. She’d prefer to talk where it’s more private. Tino and Aide look at each other.

Íker feels bad for what they did to his dad. Melina says this shows the other kids he’s important to Tino. He says she scares him. He asks if it was her that put the nuts in Aide’s brownies. He may be the one to have her plans blow up in her face.

Hernan is out and a guy puts a knife to his neck. He says he’s El Chacal.

The kids are all talking to Gisela. She herds them out and Tino and Aide ask Circe about her date. She tells them it’s a girl.

I looked on the guide on my tv. It looks like all next week are double episodes but then it will be regular programming. I’ll do my best. I didn’t write up a scene with Aide and Alexander and I’ll keep leaving out stuff with no substance and try to put what’s important. Although I don’t understand everything.

Jarifa, I'm chomping at the bit to see what happens next! As my days out celebrating New Year's Eve are far behind me, this would have been a great night to watch but alas...

It's amazing how people find each other isn't it? Perhaps Nestor and Eva are destined to be together. Thinking about it, how callous of Eva to stay away from her only son for 27 years. While I believe she missed him, she abandoned him and never returned. Until now. What does she expect? Nestor is so selfish and self-involved I'm surprised he does seem to have genuine feelings for Eva. Do they realize the pariahs they are sure to be?

"Then there is Hugo. Juanita needs to reel him in before another woman does!" Absolutely!!

I also thought Carolina looked sad when she saw the school. She is an excellent teacher and I hope there will be a way for her to continue ere this ends.

"Juan David is cute and confident but male strippers have much more toned physiques. Yes, this is going to be fun". Yes! Do you remember the SNL skit where Chris Farley and Patrick Swayze competed for a Chippendale's slot? Farley did an amazing job and actually got hired for the fake "gig". So many possibilities for our Juan David. I cannot wait!

Fantastic Liz!

"Íker is excited that his siblings will be recording a song. He doesn’t sing. Melina says he inherited the musical ability of his dad but the siblings don’t consider him one of them. He looks hurt as he asks if that’s what she thinks" was quite relevatory as was "He says she scares him. He asks if it was her that put the nuts in Aide’s brownies". To me, Iker is one of the most compelling storylines. Melina is a living, breathing monster. I agree wholeheartedly that Iker "...may be the one to have her plans blow up in her face". We can but hope!

Whatever could have happened to Lila to make her loathe Tino so?

Liz, I especially am grateful for your recap because I was watching something else last ( When Calls the Heart rerun marathon on Hallmark ) and forgot that Papas was on !!!
Its funny how Hernan us try my to fleece Gisela, but his technology skills are lacking !!! Maybe technology will be what brings him down .
