MONTEVERDE #34, Part 1

Rodrigo hugs Lucia as Franco walks away in fury!

Juan David and Angelina have the same old, same old argument. Manuel enters and asks how her mother is. “Mal” is Angelina’s anguished answer. He has chocolates and cheer for Gloria. Angelina glares at Juan David over her shoulder.

Lucas shares his family news with Father Gabriel. He says his mother was in Mexico, which he hadn’t known. The good padre tells him he had two abuelas and I thought he also said something about Italy. I don’t believe the good padre can tell him anything about his mother.

Angelina strokes her mother’s forehead and she opens her eyes. It’s a miracle! She whispers Froilán as Manuel helps her sit up. Then, she flops back on the pillows as Juan David walks in and then leaves in disgust. In a funny moment, Manuel is feeding her chocolates which she gobbles up greedily. 😊

Franco walks into Manuel’s café and threatens Rodrigo. Hugo is behind the bar and Juanita on the floor watching with alarm. Rodrigo says Lucia is his and throws Rodrigo on a table punching him. You got another woman pregnant Rodrigo throws in Franco’s face (true enough). Hugo forcibly ejects Franco from the bar asking what is wrong with him. Hugo reminds him of Julieta…

Juan David has an apron on and is cooking when Angelina hurries back to “mama”. Juan David uses some spices very liberally in the dish he is preparing, soup. Angelina spoon feeds her and she makes a face like she wants to spit it out. Manuel removes Juan David and the offending food.

Cárcamo explains to Oscar what is going on with Doris and that he is afraid she is going to cancel the wedding. Cárcamo mentions the possibility of buying Humberto’s house. I think Oscar encourages him to go to the bank.

Angelina tells Juan David what is going on with Gloria is his fault! He passionately disagrees. I think he says if Gloria is so sick she should be in the hospital. He removes his apron in a snit and leaves. He charges into Father Gabriel’s, at his wits end. Angelina is intelligent but he just can’t handle the impossible situation with his suegra. The good padre tries to calm him down.

Rosalia treats Rodrigo who certainly was on the losing end of his thrashing at Franco’s hands. Lucia comes in and defends Franco but Rodrigo says he was aggressive at the café. She immediately goes to Franco and confronts him. What he did was unconscionable. He defends himself and seems to blame her. She gets upset and brings up Julieta. Somehow he seems to goad her into asking if they are through. It seems she is leaving it up to him.

Rosalia is ministering to Gloria who is milking it for all its worth as Juan David listens outside the door.

Franco complains to Lucas about Lucia and then confides he thinks Nestor and Eva are having a relationship!

Dumb and dumber are still not hot on the trail. Sigh.

MONTEVERDE #34, Part 2

Carolina shows up at Oscar’s bearing a delicious looking loaf of goodness. He says he is excellent because she is there. Moises watches from the window as he shows her inside. “Yes” Moises says with a fist shake, smiling away. Carolina emerges sans her veil and Oscar calls her his “novia”. Sweet, gentle kisses ensue. Sadly, Carolina misses yet another opportunity to come clean.

Lucia bends Rosalia’s ear, clearly hurting.

Nestor and Eva talk, he puts his hands on her face as she stares at him. They kiss and then kiss again. It appears there are still a few burning embers left from their previous passion.

Angelina is asleep in Gloria’s room as Gloria quietly gets up and opens the door. Juan David, stewing in his room hears rattling and opens the door to see Gloria ravenously eating, standing up at the kitchen table! He clears his throat and she runs back to her room.

Oscar is asleep as Carolina hugs him. Uh oh, they are not the only coupling couple! We see Eva and Nestor in bed continuing what they started many years ago.

Oscar awakes to find Moises has set the table for three! Oscar tries to come up with something but Moises is too smart for him. Oscar then warns his son not to say anything because it will make huge problems for Sister Celeste. He makes Moises pinky swear that he will keep the secret.

An angry Juan David visits the good padre who serves up breakfast and juice as he tells him about last night’s drama.

Oscar brings Moises to class as Andres and Carolina greet them. Oscar reminds his son of his promise. Moises tells Carolina he knows what is going on just as Father Gabriel arrives. Father takes Moises into the office where Juan David works. It is clear he has something in mind.

Uh oh. Oscar comes into Nestor’s calling for him and standing there looking tousled is Eva. “Tu” he asks hardly believing what he is seeing. He immediately does the math as Eva looks guilty, flustered and embarrassed.

Lucia is delivering her cakes and has a quick run in with Rodrigo.

Nestor enters the kitchen and is shocked to see Oscar. He tries to explain but Oscar is furious calling him a traitor. “And you” Oscar spits out at Eva as he walks out leaving the guilty parties behind, mouths agape.

Juan David literally marches Angelina out of the house…

MONTEVERDE #34, Part 3

Franco is going on about Nestor and Eva to Lucas when Lucas looks guilty. Lucas violates Rosalia’s trust and secret by telling him Eva and Nestor were amantes. Franco grimaces trying to absorb what he’s been told. He thanks Lucas for telling him. He then leaves and Lucas asks where he is going (even though he may not know, viewerville has no doubt).

Eva frets about what they are going to do. Eva is very worried about what Franco will say.

Angelina mewls about Gloria to Juan David who says come with me; he has a surprise for her! Moises and Father Gabriel strategize. The little entrepreneur puts out his hand. All of a sudden, we see a little mouse crawling on Gloria’s bed. Juan David and Angelina are conveniently right outside the house when on cue, Juan David raises his hand as Gloria runs out of the house, scratching and screaming. Angelina is nonplused as she watches her mother who is clearly in the pink of health as Gloria realizes her mistake. Gloria tries to pretend to be faint but it’s too late!! “Get out of my house” Angelina screams as Gloria tries to argue with her in vain!! “Hija” Gloria pleads to a now empty sidewalk. All of a sudden, Gloria has a thought that makes her smile and walks away. Juan David is ecstatic as Angelina apologizes. My mother is a manipulator she says with anger and apology. It wasn’t your fault he tells Angelina as she leads him by the hand.

Nestor walks into Oscar’s as a livid Oscar stands and demands he leave. I didn’t understand what Nestor said but then Franco walked in, eyes on fire. He tells Oscar that Nestor is the man Eva left them for, all those years ago! Oscar stares as do we. And there we end…

What an explosion! Eva and Nestor’s past and present being exposed to both father and son so dramatically in one fell swoop was a shock! Another great twist from the writers.

Here’s hoping Gloria is unable to hoodwink Angelina again. Fingers crossed. Another fantastic episode!

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 1

Thank you, Diana. Yes, this was another fantastic episode.

Juan David tells Angelina not to worry about taking her mother to Zacatillo for tests if she doesn't come to because her mother is pretending. He tried to take Gloria's hand and she snatched it away from him. He approached her and she closed her eyes hard. Angelina sees her taking her hand away as a reflex and adds that her mother has to blink! Juan David insists her mother is putting one over on them one more time. Angelina calls him insensitive.

Lucas tells the good father about his phone call with his uncle. His uncle told him that his mother had been in Mexico. The good father knows nothing about that and Lucas' grandmother never mentioned it. Lucas is wondering if his grandmother moving to Mexico had something to do with his mother being there. Why did his grandmother leave everything behind in Italy to come live in Monteverde? The good father says after the death of his mother when he came to be under his grandparents care, his father witnessed a crime perpetrated by the Sicilian mafia . Sadly, the mafiosos threatened to kill him if he opened his mouth. He was afraid and told his grandmother that she had to leave Italy since one could never know what could happen with men like that. She left Italy with Lucas with his grandfather promising he would catch up with them in Mexico but he never arrived. Lucas concludes that they killed him. The good father explains that his grandmother never got any news about his grandfather and just like Lucas' mother, she never wanted to talk about him. Lucas feels sorry for his grandmother. The good father says she didn't have it easy. He is sorry he didn't tell him earlier but he felt like it really wasn't his place. Lucas thanks him and now is interested on finding out where his mother was in Mexico. The good father has no idea. Lucas says he hopes to see where she was by the photos his uncle is going to send him.

After the fight, Hugo tells Franco that he is only showing show insecure he is. Lucía is with him and not with Rodrigo and she has only supported him with the Julieta situation. Franco has to be smarter. Franco doesn't want to hear anymore.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 2

Angelina tells Juan David not to put too much salt in the soup he is making for her mother. She has to eat as healthy as possible. He mentions the chocolates that Manuel has brought her that she has been stuffing her face with. Angelina says she was only eating those to get her blood sugar up. After she leaves, Juan David makes sure the soup is loaded with salt and spices.

Cárcamo has found out that Humberto wants to sell his house and not rent it. Oscar tells him to go to the bank and apply for a loan. Oscar will lend him the down payment and he can pay him back over time. He adds that Cárcamo cannot ignore this opportunity. Cárcamo agrees.

Juan David tells the good father that it has gotten to the point with Gloria that maybe it is best that he and Angelina separate. The good father says Gloria might have won the battle but not the war. Juan David sees his situation with Gloria like David and Goliath.

Franco blames everything on Lucía because of the hug he saw. You don't hug somebody that your detest. She tries to explain that it was a GOOD-BYE hug but he will not be convinced. He feels like Rodrigo could convince her to leave with him at any time. She reminds him how she has been supporting him after he got Julieta pregnant. He says he got Julieta pregnant because she left town and wouldn't stay even though he had told her how important she was to him. She concludes that he thinks it is her fault that he slept with Julieta. He is clearly no longer the man she fell in love with. He informs her he is who he is and if she cannot deal with that, they are over! She asks if that is what he wants. There is silence. She walks out saying it is his decision.

Lucas tells Franco he is being stupid breaking up with Lucía because now he is giving Rodrigo an opening. Is that what he wants? Franco says no but things got out of control. Lucas agrees that he really messed up. Franco also thinks that Rodrigo will be right there to pick up the pieces and convince Lucía to go away with him. Lucas tells him that is unlikely because Rodrigo did stand her up at the altar (earlier in the episode it was mentioned that Rodrigo was cheating on her with her best friend)

Detective Padilla and Carlos have three towns left to search in the area: Villa Hidalgo, Lagos Verdes, and Monteverde. Tomorrow they will go to Villa Hidalgo.

Lucía tells Rosalía that all men are the same. After accepting the pregnancy with Julieta, this is how Franco pays her back? She is done with him forever. Rosalía suggests she take time to cool down before she and Franco talk again.

Néstor tells Eva that he told Franco to stop imagining things and that he was only consoling her. What else could he say? Of course, he did not believe him.
How could he when he saw that they were about to kiss each other? She thinks it was really stupid on their part and it never should have happened. He disagrees. What they feel for each other isn't stupid.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 3

Moisés tells Oscar that he saw the nun arrive the night before and saw her and Oscar kiss. TEE HEE! (that was the cutest!)

The good father advises Juan David to be calm and to trust in the compassion of the Lord. (Sure . . . )

Moisés tells Carolina that he isn't saying anything about anything even to Andrés and he really wants her to be his mother. She answers that she really wants that, too.

The good father takes Moisés into the office and tells Juan David that Moisés is their savior. The good father explains to the boy that he needs him for a little job. Moisés asks how much is it worth to him? The good father is shocked that he is going to charge him!! What is going on with kids today? Moisés answers that business is business. He has to pay him if he wants him to do something.
The good father reminds him it is his mouse who is going to do the work. Moisés tells him that is going to cost him even more because Griselda the mouse charges for her work and he charges for loaning her out.

Rodrigo wants to chat about Lucía's cake recipes but she needs to make a cake delivery and is gone.

Oscar calls Eva a nobody on his way out.

Juan David tells Angelina she has to go back to work. He cannot do everything on his own. She says she can't. Rosalía says her mother is fine but that is not how she sees her mother so she is staying with her. Juan David insists that they have to fulfill their obligations at the parish office. She finally agrees.

Néstor tells Eva there is only one thing to do: tell the truth. Néstor cannot see any point in lying anymore. She is worried about what will happen if Oscar finds out the truth. She is especially worried about her relationship with her son Franco. If Franco finds out the truth, he will never forgive her. Néstor finally agrees to do things her way and continue lying.

Lucas says he didn't tell Franco earlier because Rosalía made him promise to keep it a secret. Franco cannot believe that Néstor said he was his father's best friend. Lucas explains that he was between a rock and a hard place. Franco thanks him and leaves to put things in order.

Moisés assures the good father that everything is set and that Griselda knows what to do. He adds that his godfather cannot know about him getting paid because he doesn't like him doing business. The good father says he isn't saying a thing. Moisés puts out his hand for his payment and it seems that the good father is slow in paying.

Angelina tells her mother she is going into her house, she is shutting her door and if her mother has any decency, she will not dare set a foot in her house again. As Juan David follows his wife, the ells Gloria he will send her some cookies later. Angelina tells Juan David that she is going to pack up her mother's things so she has no excuse to return.

Néstor tells Oscar that he and Eva ran into each other the night before. They had supper and a few drinks. One thing led to another and it just happened! It must have been the alcohol! Oscar isn't buying the alcohol excuse. Néstor insists he has no reason to lie.
 

MONTEVERDE

Jarifa, your superb dialogue translations were perfect. I enjoyed every sweet and savory word.

Although secrets were spilling at supersonic speed last night, I have to take a moment to mention the sure to be galan in a dozen or so years, Moisés who "tells Oscar that he saw the nun arrive the night before and saw her and Oscar kiss. TEE HEE! (that was the cutest!)" Yes, the little scene stealer was at his best especially with "Moisés tells him that is going to cost him even more because Griselda the mouse charges for her work and he charges for loaning her out." Kid has personality, charm and is a real wheeler dealer.

Franco has turned into a total hothead hasn't he? What happened to the nice, smiling young man we first met? Jealousy has him in its grip and he better shake it off before its too late.

Nestor and Eva should have faced the face and confessed everything right then and there. The lies are going to multiply and Oscar and Franco aren't going to believe them anyway. What a hornet's nest.

Can we fervently hope this is the end of Gloria's presence in the house??

I also want Carolina to snap out of her delusional state. Things are NOT well and every day that passes that she doesn't tell Oscar the truth will make things so much worse! Honestly, I feel her window of opportunity to tell him has past. Carlos is inching his way back and it seems will return before everything comes out.

I'm so relieved my handsome Hugo is the one person thinking clearly and dealing honestly and frankly with everyone. I'd like to see him and Juanita's relationship gather some steam.

Diana, this just keeps getting better and better, doesn’t it? I agree with everything you had to say. Moisés and Griselda were a real treat as well as the story of the arrival of Lucas’ grandmother in Mexico. A character I was very disappointed in was Lucas and him telling Franco the info about Néstor and Eva that Rosalía had entrusted to him to keep a secret. He proved that Franco was more important to him than Rosalía. She needs to kick him to the curb and be done with him. The adult men are not real attractive in this novela. They are all sort of meh but they sure make for a good story.

You made an excellent point in that yes, Lucas spilling tea that was entrusted to him showed who he truly valued. Rosalia can do much better (I was not a fan of his from the beginning truth be told).

I'm still swooning over Hugo who is truly the "real" man amidst the others. :)

Papas #44 part 1

Weeks after our last scene Tino and Aide are listening to a lawyer speak. If they sign they’ll be divorced. Each picks up a pen and they look at each other.

Tino walks up to his house and explains why Melina is living there. She’s only there to see Circe. She notices his guitar, he says it’s for his new job.

Prisma tells Mazario he humiliated her. He leaves her and Serena walks over and praises her. When she mentions Nazario Prisma defends him.

Aide tells Rino a guitar teacher is noble profession, but he needs to maintain the kids. He used to own a business. She walks off and Melina criticizes Aide. She says Urbano wants her to represent her in the business so she won’t be moving. She can act professional with Aide.

Edith tells Checo she can become addicted to his kisses. He agrees. As long as they’re working together that will be off limits.

Serena tells Prisma she’s in a toxic relationship and should leave. She works with professionals and Serena will also be there for her.

Aide tells Gisela about Tino’s living arrangements. Gisela puts Tino down and gives no encouragement to Aide. She feels the marriage should end. Aide doesn’t want her daughter under the same roof as Melina.

Clara Luz and Rudolf are missing Pipe. Custody will be decided soon. Clara Luz can’t stand living and working with Nazario.

Bill comes to dinner at Aide’s with a cake to share with everyone.

Tino wants to know how everyone’s day was, starting with Íker. Íker says good, then says he’ll clear the plates. Tino will help. Melina takes this opportunity to tell Circe the kiss between her and Tino meant nothing. She’s glad Circe is close to her father, although eventually Tino deserves to find a woman to love.

Cheno goes up against the whole family. They tell Serena he was like this when their mom got her job.

Gisela herds the whole family out of the dining room so Aide can entertain her guest. Bill tells Aide he brought the cake for Emi so he could see her. She tells him about Tino and Melina. He cheers her up by telling her Lila is working at the cafeteria.

Hernan speaking to Melina about Bill being interested in Aide. Prisma comes along wanting to speak to Melina.

Papas #44 part 2

Edith approaches Circe at school and asks how she is. Circe says she divorced, depressed and her parents are getting divorced Edith mentions the illusions of love and Circe thinks this is better than 10 years of therepy. Edith would rather Circe go to a therapist and let Edith be her friend.

Prisma talks to Melina about Nazario. Melina tells her it’s normal for a man to be jealous of his wife when they work together, the man wants to feel smarter than his wife. Nazario comes along and tells Prisma to hurry, the custody hearing is tomorrow.

Clara Luz and Rudolf miss Pipe and are worried about the hearing. They will fight to get Pipe, they don’t want Nazario to have him.

Serena tells heno her being an influencer isn’t going to change how she feels for him, for their families and being together. He doesn’t agree but ends up smiling with her.

Circe tells Edith that not being able to make her marriage work is like when she couldn’t hold a job. Edith tells her not to compare her 16 year old self with now. She’s the one critical of herself.

Nazario tells the judge Clara Luz had kidnapped Pipe, Rudolf had been arrested for murder and they almost killed Pipe with his medication. Their lawyer was not allowed to speak, nor were they. The judge took the information and said these are serious allegations. Clara Luz and Rudolf glared at Nazario.

Prisma asks how the custody trial went. She feels uncomfortable living here and thinks they should go. Nazario refuses and says the house belongs to Pipe. Prisma thinks about what Melina told him and apologizes and says he was right.

Tino is getting ready for his guitar lessons. He has a group of students. Melina and Aide meet with a couple of clients and smile and shake hands. Tino plays with Alexander. Melina and three of the kids watch him perform in the band, on the drums.

Tino wants to help Melina with the bills and also pay Aide. She invites him out for coffee, but he declines. He’s got a lot to do. She tells him playing in the band is his dream and he must continue, Aide would never help him. She has her hands on his neck, not in a friends way, more like a lover.

Back to the first scene, Aide signs first, then Tino. Tino calls to her outside. He wants to talk about Alexander. He always wants to raise him in their shared custody. Aide says this is something for the lawyers to work out.

Liz, this was a terrific recap. You consistently pick up every important detail and relay things so well. Without your recaps, I don't think I would be watching this now, things have become too difficult for me to untangle.

Tino tells Aide "He always wants to raise him in their shared custody. Aide says this is something for the lawyers to work out". I like Aide very much but there are times when she comes across as a bit cold and this was one of them. She's been through much; perhaps it's a defense mechanism.

Melina "tells him playing in the band is his dream and he must continue, Aide would never help him. She has her hands on his neck, not in a friends way, more like a lover" was exactly right. As the stomach roils.

Because Clara Luz and Rudolf couldn't say a word to defend themselves, I fear Nazario will be awarded Pipe's custody. Hope I'm wrong.

Bill is moving in on Aide with lightning speed.

Things are a mess.

Papas. #44 Part 3

Serena thanks Prisma for the great gráficas she did for her. She tells her it was actually Nazario that did it. Serena wonders how things are. Prisma says good, she actually had exaggerated when they last spoke. Since Serena heard what was said how could it be an exaggeration!

Nazario tells what a good parent he is, Rudolf tells the judge he’s lying and gives examples. The judge wonders if he has proof, he does in text messages. The judge gives custody to Nazario.

Gisela tells Aide that two divorces aren’t bad. And now she has the chance to find a decent handsome man, like Bill. Aide says she doesn’t need a man to be happy. Gisela wonders where she heard that.

Melina wonders how Tino is. He mentions wanting to help raise Alexander. Melina says not to worry, is he coming home she’s fixing him a surprise. He’ll be there.

Rudolf and Clara Luz are calling Nazario a hypocrite. Then Rudolf wonders how the judge can think Nazario will put their son’s wellbeing first. Will they get to see Pipe. Rhys have to work it out with Nazario and Prisma. The lawyer says they’re not helping things while the judge reminds them this is provisional custody.

Lila is at work and gets a text from Paulina. She needs her to call regarding Emi. Meanwhile Circe is asking Bill for a job. He gets a call from an unknown caller.

Melina asks Tino to close his eyes. She’s prepared a feast for him using his mother’s recipes, which she found in the trash, where Aide had thrown them away. He needs someone at his side to encourage and help him. She remembers good times with him.

Bill visits Aide to tell her Circe asked for a job at the cafeteria. She doesn’t know Lila works there. He thinks it will be a way to mend their relationship. He doesn’t know why Lila left the family but he would handle it diplomatically. Gisela comes in thrilled that Bill is there. She swoops up Alexander. Aide tells him it’s a tough day for her because she signed her divorce papers. Bill knows, Gisela called him. He’s there if she needs to talk cry.

Rudolf is hoping they can all live together with no fighting for the good of the children. Nazario puts an arm around each of them and tells them they need to move out of the apartment immediately.

Tino is amazed at Melina. Her cooking brought back memories of his mother. She’s an executive and a great mother. What other surprises does she have. She said the love of her life disappeared years ago and now she’s found him. They’re ready to kiss.

Aide is hugging I’ll and thanking him for being there for her. He never wants to see her eyes filled with tears again. A split screen as we see both couples kiss. At least Aide has a decent man, we hope, Tino has a viper!

Thanks Diana, this is a mess. We’re just a couple of episodes past half way and I’m afraid that’s a long time before a happily ever after. I don’t see how things can get any worse. I fear we’ll have a few weeks, or more, of everything being wrong. I think Tino will really be living with Melina, and Pipe with Nazario. I don’t think Aide will leap into anything with. Bill, but who knows! Our only hope is the friend of Gibron that knows about Nazario.

Papas #45 part 1

A year earlier Tino and Aide are in bed talking. She asks what if he meets someone else, he replies he only has eyes for her. When he asks Aide what if she meets someone she laughingly says, she’ll run off with the guys. They kiss, then we see the present day and the double kiss! Afterwards, Melina declares her love for Tino with her body and soul(does she have a soul?). Tino doesn’t want to hurt her but he just got divorced and isn’t ready for a relationship. And doesn’t want to hurt her. Melina says she’ll take that risk. Meanwhile, Aide pulls away from Bill, she didn’t mean for that to happen. He tells her he’s always loved her. She’s surprised. Even as he declares how much he wants to love, protect and care for her, she isn’t ready for a new relationship.

I don’t even want to describe obnoxious Nazario is as he tells
Clara Luz and Rudolf to leave. Prisma tells him they’re good people and he puts her down. They ask if they can stay until tomorrow as they have no place to go and he does allow them that.

Gisela tells Hernan she’s sad because Aide accused her of always needing a man. Hernan tells her with her in his crypto business she can make money and show Aide she can be successful. She decides to invest even more of her money to show Aide how successful she can be!

Clara Luz and Rudolf talk about needing proof against Nazario. They don’t want him raising their children.

Bill wants to be close to her, not only for Emi. He worries about the safety of his son and her because of El Chacal, even though the police are patrolling. He wants to be close. Aide is worried but not ready. Uli comes in as Bill leaves.

Melina is telling Tino how she’s always loved him and how happy she was when she realized he had left a “gift”, a baby to love and care for. When he doesn’t react she acts hurt, so he tells her he’s not ready. She says they can be discreet so no one will know. He’s thinking about it.

Gisela is calling Hernan and he doesn’t answer. She starts to leave a message and he answers. He’s in a meeting about their crypto business. He hangs up while she is still talking. It sure looks like a casino to me! Uli enters her room, she’s glad to see him and wants to get to know him better. She wonders why he doesn’t have a girlfriend. His generation does things differently.

Aurelio is trying to get a job. If they give him a chance he can show them what a good worker he is. The man says he’s sure he’s a good worker but he’s too old. He sees Hernan at the table, losing. The man he talked to tells a worker to get Hernan out of there before he makes a scene. Lately he’s been coming regularly.

Lila is upset that Paulina has invaded her work space. She doesn’t want her looking for her, and what does she need to tell her about Emi. Paulina suggests they have a coffee and Lila looks annoyed.

Circe tells Tino she’s getting a job. Íker excuses himself to go to bed, and
Circe leaves also. Tino thanks Melina for going slow and not making the kids suspect them. She says unlike Aide. Tino wonders what about her. Melina says it’s obvious Bill is hiring Circe to get close to Aide.

Papas #45 part 2

Lila wants to know why Paulina suddenly wants to be back in Lila’s life. She tells her she realized she was wrong. Lila asks how she’s going to pay for Emi’s treatments. She tells her Jason left her a lot of money. Lila asked where Bill came from. Paulina tells Lila about Tino’s other son, Íker, and how he gave up so much,even Aide, to be with Íker! Bill is curious with Paulina for going to the cafeteria to see Lila. She wasn’t supposed to look for her. Paulina wonders why Emi left. Bill says he wanted him to help Aide. Now Paulina’s mad because she doesn’t want to go through Aide to see Emi. Bill says he’ll arrange for her to see Emi. She tries to kiss him, he’s not interested.

Rudolf and Clara Luz are telling Pipe they have to go, he’s crying and doesn’t understand, he thinks they’re abandoning him. He tells them he hates them and runs to Prisma. Nazario tells them to go but they ask for five minutes alone with pipe. Nazario says he’ll never leave them alone with Pipe as they mistreat him. Natalie says no, they’re good. Nazario gives them five minutes.
They also told Natalia they love her.

Bill tells Lila she’s a good worker. She asks about his relationship with her mother. He’s just the father of Emi. He broke up with her and just recently learned about Emi. She asks if he knew his mother was married. He didn’t. He will always be transparent with her. She works for him and tells him she doesn’t want to discuss family with him anymore.

Aurelio comes to see Gisela. He asks about the family. She tells him Aide and Tino are separated for good. He mentions the jewelry. He thinks it’s strange that her jewelry ended up in his pack and a man that wanted him gone made her suspicious. He asks if she believes him. She erased it from her mind and everything between them is fine.

Pipe doesn’t understand why they have to go. They tell him it’s complicated but for now Nazario will care for him. They’ll be close and see him everyday. Pipe doesn’t like that and tells them to go.

Papas #45 part 3

Natalia is crying and Prisma asks if Rudolf and Clara Luz can stay a few days. Nazario gets mad at her and Natalia. When Pipe comes out he tells everyone to stop with the drama, Prisma gets the kids to school. He tells Rudolf and
Clara Luz to get out.

Gisela thinks Melina took her jewelry. She asks Aurelio if he has a job, she can tell by his face he doesn’t. She offers him a job remodeling her bathroom.

Checo is with Edith taking a bunch of pictures of Circe. Circe doesn’t look to happy at they’re being together.

Bill tells Lila that Circe wants a job there. She says it would be very uncomfortable for her to spend time working with Circe. He’ll arrange for them not to be working together much. She wonders why he’s going to all that trouble. It’s for Emi, so he can have a place to see her. She walks away smiling and runs into Tino.

Rudolf and Clara Luz are telling each other the apartment is temporary. If they had never met Nazario…they would never have known their daughter. Clara Luz worries that Prisma will be a better mother. Rudolf thinks she’s the best mother. Then he says if only she hadn’t put him on that medicine, she says if only he hadn’t wound up in jail, or controlled his temper, and they’re fighting.

Toño tells Lila he didn’t know she was working here, she has to get to work. He sees Bill and wonders why Circe has a job here. He tells Tino she asked for a job and he wanted to help her. I thought Tino was there to ask about a job, but maybe not.

Rudolf and Clara Luz continue their arguing. He says he’s needed at Maximax. She says she did just fine there while he was in jail. They walk in separate directions.

Aide thinks it’s strange that both Clara Luz and Eudolf asked to work from home, and in separate messages. Nazario says you shouldn’t mix your personal and professional life. Serena prances in all excited.

Aurelio needs to go to the store for something for the bathroom. Hernan calls, apparently he’s really busy so Gisela says she’ll see him later.

Checo and Edith are praising Circe because the photos are great. She tells them she has to leave for a job. Edith thinks it’s great she’s getting out of her comfort zone. After she goes Checo asks Edith if they want to get to know each other better. She says after they’re done working together.

Melina tells Serena she’s gotten so many likes on her video. Aide says how great they hired her. Melina points out she was the one who hired her. She gets a call and leaves. Aide leaves to check Alexander. Serena sits beside Prisma and asks what she thought of the video. Prisma praises her and says she connects with people and is authentic. Nazario asks why she keeps repeating the same stuff, luckily Melina needs him so he leaves. Serena starts to say something to Prisma but she gets up and walks away.

A guy named Martin calls Clara Luz, he’d been sending her messages. She apologizes for not seeing the messages. Gibron had mentioned her and he wants to talk to her.

Aurelio is in Hernan’s room.

A coughing man with a medical mask is begging money from a man.

Bill wanted to see Aide just for a moment. She’s beautiful. She doesn’t enjoy Maximax anymore. She doesn’t like working with Melina. Alexander wants to play so the three are prancing around when Tino walks in.

MONTEVERDE #35, Part 1

Franco angrily confronts Nestor and in front of Oscar, accuses Nestor of running away with Eva years ago. Nestor frantically denies it, saying the other night was the first time. Oscar goes wild, we were friends he spits out at Nestor and you took mu mujer leaving Franco without a mother for all those years. It wasn’t easy for me Nestor mewls; not the right thing to say…Oscar continues his furious tirade telling Nestor he is a traitor and mentirosa. “Largate” Oscar rages, get out of my ranch. Nestor looks down as he leaves as Oscar’s face mirrors the rage and heartbreak he is feeling.

“Mi amor” a smiling Rosalia purrs as she greets a downcast Lucas. He grimly tells her he told Franco Eva and Nestor were amantes. Rosalia is stunned.

Gloria is crying into her coffee at Manuel’s restaurant. He listens sympathetically as she ugly cries. He tries to tell her that Juan David is a good man. She continues to lament what happened as Angelina is her hija; Manuel tells her this is an opportunity for them to be happy. She stands, turns on her heel and leaves.

Rosalia is impactada that Lucas betrayed her. He is my friend he mutters as he tries to defend himself. She counters that Nestor is her father! “Largate” she demands staring stonily, shutting the door behind him. She leans against her desk, shaken.

Nestor tells Eva that Oscar knows everything because of Franco. Why she stammers. She tells him to leave her alone as she says “my hijo” clutching her throat.

Juan David and Angelina are finally alone in their little love nest. There is knocking on the door and Gloria comes in. Gloria tries to explain but Angelina cuts her off. She is not welcome there. Juan David rolls her suitcase and handbag out. See ya! Angelina is hanging tough and not weakening. Gloria tells Juan David it’s all his fault but Angelina says no, it is Gloria’s fault. Juan David hugs Angelina a pleased smile reflecting his admiration for her strength.

Lucia is sprinkling some toppings on some delicious looking chocolate cupcakes when Rodrigo shows up. He says he has some sort of opportunity for her. Just then, Rosalia comes in and seeing her face, Lucia rushes up the stairs after her. Rosalia tells her Lucas spilled the frijoles. I’m not sure if Lucia tells her she did the right thing or not.

Eva tells Father Gabriel what happened. She confesses she didn’t leave Monteverde alone, she left with another man. That is serious the good padre says. It was Nestor she admits, Oscar was always preoccupied and busy at the ranch. Father Gabriel sternly tells her all of this is a consequence of her actions.

Carolina reminds adorable Moises to keep their secret as they hook pinkies. Then the little lad winks at her!

No Oscar today. Carolina is disappointed.

MONTEVERDE #35, Part 2

Gloria lugs her suitcase into the restaurant as Hugo and Juanita give her the side eye. Gloria pouts her daughter will not forgive her. Manuel hugs her and talks tenderly to her of love and other things. He gets her to smile a bit; you aren’t alone he promises her. He takes her suitcase out as Hugo and Juanita exchange looks.

Rosalia visits Nestor. She is trying to help but she slips and mentions Lucas after which Nestor is livid, leaving to find him. Rosalia takes off after him!

Nestor finds Lucas at the stables and runs at him, punching him. Lucas says Franco is his brother and what Nestor did to Oscar was wrong. Lucas rushes Nestor as Rosalia drags her father away.

Eva knocks on Oscar’s door. He is angry and asks why she is there. She wants to talk with Franco. He upbraids her for what she did, leaving them for another man. She seems to try and repent but he tells her to leave, I think saying he never wants to see her again.

Rosalia tries to apologize to Nestor but he isn’t having it. He leaves her and grabs his hat, taking off.

Cárcamo greets Doris and asks her to go with him. Where she asks? It’s a surprise he says,” I like surprises” Doris smiles. He then blindfolds her and they take off.

Juan David has prepared some soup for Angelina but she pushes it away from her, making a face. It seems to turn her stomach. Uh oh…she is vomiting a bit into her napkin.

One, two, three Cárcamo says, removing her blindfold. They are at the house Cárcamo purchased. Doris is thrilled. He gives her the keys and she runs to the door. Once inside, he dips her and they sweetly kiss.

Rosalia comes back to the house in tears, telling Carolina what happened. In a torrent of words mixed with tears, she relates Nestor and Eva were amantes. She says Oscar knows as Carolina hugs her.

Lucas next tries defending himself to Hugo who then brings up the fact Lucas never told Franco about the fact he slept with Julieta.

MONTEVERDE #35, Part 3

Carlos is at the toll gate and the guard has no choice but to let him through. After Carlos pulls off, the man quickly makes a phone call.

“Hola” Carolina says taking off her veil as she enters Oscar’s house, hugging him. Oscar talks about Nestor’s treacherous behavior once again repeating he is a traitor. Carolina takes his hands in hers and manages to get him to smile. For a brief moment. I believe Oscar says something to her about lying. Oscar kisses her gently and then more passionately.

Doris arrives home and has some excellent news. The boda is on! She has a wonderful house to live in. She is so excited and the women prepare an impromptu toast.

Oscar gives Carolina a lift, he thanks her she says love is unconditional. Always the gentleman (or usually the gentleman), he opens her car door and lifts her bicycle down. He kisses her as Father Gabriel sees them, stopping dead in his tracks, upset at what he is seeing. He walks over and Oscar tells him what happened with Eva. He will never forgive her! This hits home with Carolina (as well it should) and her facial expression turns grim. She tries to leave but Father Gabriel says she will go with him.

Hugo gets a visitor at the bar. It is a man telling him Carlos is on the way!

Father Gabriel chastises Carolina for kissing Oscar in broad daylight. In the midst of his upbraiding, Hugo bursts in and tells them Carlos is coming. She and Hugo rush out…

Gloria has a list of “suggestions” for the restaurant. First, she wants to add brunch to the menu! In a funny bit, Manuel can’t say it let alone understand what it is. She explains.

Carolina tells Andres Carlos is coming, he asks if she called the police. No, she can’t, her attorney is still working on her case trying to prove her innocence. Andres says he will do whatever she needs him to.

Carlos drives up just as Carolina and Andres get in the car. Hugo sees him and warns them but as they bend over and try not to be visible in the car, Carlos is mere feet away!

Another excellent, action packed episode! Eva and Nestor’s betrayal is quickly becoming common knowledge with more fallout to follow. Will Carolina escape Carlos’ detection? We will have to wait until Monday to find out. 😊

"Melina declares her love for Tino with her body and soul(does she have a soul?)" was fabulous (and no, I don't think she does! :)

Nazario showed his true, terrible colors tonight. Not only was he cruel to Clara Luz and Rudolf it was painfully apparent he doesn't care about Pipe at all. Can no one see that??

Lila "asks if he (Bill) knew his mother was married. He didn’t". I wondered about that myself. If that was revealed previously, I didn't catch it.

Aurelio seems to be the catalyst that will eventually reveal who and what Hernan is. I'm wondering what Hernan plans to do once he's fleeced Gisela for all her jewelry?

Melina was so cringeworthy lying to Tino through her teeth, spewing one lie after another.

Does Paulina really think she is going to end up with Bill? I don't think he has any such intention but hasn't done anything that I can recall to dispel that noion (or am I wrong?). Either way, he is smitten with Aide. I have to admit the last scene with Bill, Aide and Alex was quite cute.

Here's hoping Gibron's friend will start Nazario's fall. And quickly.

Thanks, Diana and Susan. Nazario doesn’t care for anybody and Prisma better wake up. He was talking to Natalia the same way he talks down to Prisma. I hate how he treats everyone. Poor Clara Luz and Rudolf. They welcomed Nazario into their home and he’s so cruel to them. I’m sure all he wants is Pipe’s money. They never should have shared so much with him.

Melina is bad and Tino is a fool for not seeing through her. Bill seems a much nicer guy. But this was the first time he turned Paulina down. I still wonder if he’s as nice as he seems.

I kept waiting for Aurelio to tell Gisela about Hernon. I hope he does it soon!

Oscar tells Néstor that he cannot believe that he spent 27 years wondering who Eva left him for without ever suspecting him. Thinking back on it how didn't he realize it, when Eva left and within a few days he supposedly was leaving for a new job in the livestock business. He was really stupid. He wants Néstor to tell him the truth about it all with no more lies. How could have he done that to him? They were friends. They worked shoulder to shoulder. He knew how much he loved his wife and still he got involved with her. And when he returned, he didn't care that Franco was spending years at the door waiting for his mother to come home. Why did he destroy their lives like this? Néstor has the nerve to answer saying that even though he may not believe him, none of that was easy for him. He never went looking for it. It just . . . happened. Oscar cannot believe that (lame) excuse. (and neither can I) If he fell in love with Eva, he knew he fell in love with his wife. and he perfectly knew that he was going to destroy his life. When he returned, he didn't care and stayed quiet.
He is so selfish! Néstor asks what choice did he have ? Eva left him, too. That was why he came back to Monteverde. He was destroyed. Oscar tells him not to dare compare himself to him. he and Eva were married and had a child while for him it was merely an affair. He realizes that and what he did is unforgiveable. He has carried that guilt for all of these years. Oscar doesn't want to hear about his guilt when yesterday he was messing around with her. Did she come back to continue their affair? Néstor denies that. He had not heard from her since she left him. If she is in town, it is because of Franco. They had nothing to do with each other until last night. Oscar calls him a coward, a damn traitor. He calls himself an imbecile who Néstor played for a fool when he thought they were friends. Oscar cannot get over how stupid he was when Néstor had been lying to him the whole time. Néstor admits he had thought of confessing it all to him, but what was to be gained? Improve his own health and cause Oscar even more pain? That is why he said nothing. Oscar sarcastically answers him telling him how very kind he is. He moves him to his very soul! Oscar tells him to get out and go away. He never wants to see him again. He does not want him to set one foot on his ranch ever again. After being told to get out a second time, Néstor finally leaves.

Gloria cannot believe the hatred Angelina and Juan David have shown her when all she wanted to do is take care of her daughter. She blames Juan David for putting that disgusting mouse in her room wanting to see her kick the bucket. He thought he could finish her off after she was so badly shocked by Froilán. She insists it wasn't all a "show" but real. Manuel tries to explain that Juan David doesn't want Angelina all for himself but he wants to live a calm married life.


 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 2

Rosalía tells Lucas that what he told Franco about Néstor and Eva was not his information to tell. She will never forgive him for what he did.

Eva and Néstor wonder about how Franco found out about them.

Rodrigo tells Lucía that a mutual acquaintance has a job offer for her at his data analysis agency. He needs somebody to be his right hand (wo)man. Her study of economics and intelligence are what are needed. She doesn't think it is for her. Rodrigo tries to talk her into it. He tells her to fill out the application and then she can make up her mind. She admits it does sound like what she was looking for but . . . Rosalía arrives.

Rosalía asks Lucía to ask Franco not to tell Néstor how she was the one who gave Lucas the information that he had left town with Eva. She wants to save the relationship she is starting with her father. Lucía refuses to get involved. Rosalía tries to make excuses for why Néstor ran away with Eva. Lucía thinks, given the situation, there is no justification for what he did.

The good priest tells Eva to apologize to Oscar and her son. She knows that Oscar will never forgive her and she cannot even think of looking her son in the eye. The good priest says she is going to have to do it anyway.

Manuel is overjoyed that Gloria has finally decided to move in with him. She makes it clear she didn't have any other choice.

Rosalía says she is sorry for having told Lucas about him and Eva. Néstor doesn't care how she feels. The damage is done. That imbecile of a novio of hers is going to be hearing from him!

Moisés comes by Juan David's and Angelina's house to find Griselda and take her home.

Carlos and detective Padilla decide to split up to search the remaining towns more quickly.

The previous own of Cárcamo's and Doris' new house left it furnished so they can move in any time.

Doris is worried about the debt that Cárcamo got into with the house. He says it is a 30 year loan. It will be like paying rent. All she wants is one of those kisses that he only knows how to give her.

It turns out that Néstor is an actual veterinarian.

Oscar does tell Carolina that what he cannot take that he was lied to. He will never forgive Eva or Néstor for that.

The good father hopes that Oscar doesn't go back to being the embittered man he was before now that he found out about Eva and Néstor. Oscar assures him that he won't. Now he has other reasons to smile. As for forgiving them, that he will never do. He will not put up with lying! There is nothing worse. The good father reminds him that our Lord teaches us to forgive. He hopes Oscar achieves that ability which will bring peace to his soul. No matter what, Oscar can count on him and knows where to find him.

The good father tells Carolina that she needs to get it into her head that a religious does not kiss anybody cheek or not!! He asks if she has talked to Oscar yet. She says no because something always comes up. He doesn't know why she doesn't get that the longer she lets it go the worse it is going to be considering all she has done is lie to Oscar . The good father complains to her about making him her accomplice!

The good father decides to hide Carolina and Andrés at the late Renés barn.

Gloria also suggests raising the prices, closing the restaurant at a decent hour,
banning fights and fining those who choose to, 500 pesos, the restaurant will reserve the right to determine who can enter.

What a fun episode! I especially enjoyed the comedy with Gloria and Juan David and Angelina and Manuel as well as the Cárcamon part of the tale.

When will Rosalía realize that she is just as bad as Lucas for telling Néstor's personal business to other people no matter who they may be? I am happy that Lucía refused to get involved.

I am done with the Rodrigo story line. He needs to go.

I'm so glad you got your internet back Jarifa! Losing power/internet is so frustrating...

Your amazing summary gave so much context and vibrancy to the story; your dialogue translations were masterful. I was on the edge of my seat devouring every single inspiring word. You filled in every gap I had and did so with wit and wisdom.

"He never went looking for it. It just . . . happened. Oscar cannot believe that (lame) excuse. (and neither can I)" was exactly right. A pitiful excuse from a callous, self centered man who even after almost three decades refuses to take accountability and even worse, chooses not to seek forgiveness of those whose lives he and Eva ruined. (I feel sorrier for her even though as it was HER husband and HER child, hers seemed to be the greater transgression. Is genuine remorse enought to warrant forgiveness? Time will tell).

As I feared, Oscar's heart is harded against lies (I cannot blame him). Carolina's golden opportunity to talk to him to tell him about the circumstances of her abusive and conniving husband and why she had to flee has now evaporated into thin air. The good padre's declaration that "he doesn't know why she doesn't get that the longer she lets it go the worse it is going to be considering all she has done is lie to Oscar " should have hit home. Hard. And yet circumstances further conspire so that she has not yet confessed.

Lucas is lucky Nestor didn't pummel him into oblivion. I'm done with him and Rosalia (not an innocent party in all of this) should be as well.

Jarifa, I'm so glad you brought up Rodrigo. First, there is absolutely no chemistry between he and Lucia. Further, he is unappealing to boot! Nothing interesting to see here so move along Rodrigo. Please.

I so look forward to this show every night and can't wait to see what happens next!
