Caray, Caray!

DOMENICA - I’m catching up and hopefully by lateish Friday I’ll have episodes 31-32 and then do 33-34 over the weekend!

I am finishing up episode 32 now, but I see from the thumbnail images for episode 33, and it appears there’s a reconciliation!

I was tired of the lather, rinse, repeat bickering and not listening going on, so this was a welcome change.

I’m intrigued by the romance/love triangle between Cute Lawyer, Blanca, Lawyer Friend (and Kiara). I thought Cute Lawyer ought to despise Kiara now - hopefully any affection he has for her has soured?

Prudencio, Nana, and Mercedes - I honestly don’t see a path for Prudencio to end up with Mercedes, but who knows? It’s a novela. I think Nana deserves better than being second best with Prudencio, so unless he has a massive change of heart, I hope she ends up with Godfather or someone.

I'm all caught up except for last night's episode. One observation I have to make is the blood spattered Max. You would have thought Louisfe (thanks Pedro for that nickname) would have cleaned him up better, and the bright red bloody arms and upper body made no sense. Dried blood is brown, and he was shot in the stomach area while wearing a long sleeve shirt I think.. he looks like he was dragged home through a hedge of brambles and not on the ladder they brought as a stretcher.

Anonymous, you should sign off with a name or nickname so we can refer to you other than anonymous 😀.

Every potential romance in this show has rivalries! Both the young lawyers (Ernesto and San Genis who actually has a first name I've forgotten) hitting on Blanca, Kiera wanting every guy that someone else has an interest in, Adelaida (the cutest of the young girls) and Nieva fighting over Pedro, who seems interested in neither, (is he interested in Maria?) and now Silva is lusting over him.....I'm slowly learning the characters names at least.

What are the odds, a somewhat broke Domenica goes to what seems to be a 5 star hotel in Mexico City and LuisFe just happens to be parked outside that same hotel!

MONTEVERDE #53, Part 1of 3

The fight between Oscar and Carlos quickly escalates. Carolina tries to interrupt but it’s too late. Carlos pulls out his phone and shows Oscar a picture of him and Carolina kissing. Turning to Carolina with a look of betrayal, Oscar asks what is the meaning of this?? Carolina grimaces as Oscar demands an explanation, telling Carlos to back off. “Mother Celeste” Carlos says mockingly. Oscar pummels him, Carlos momentarily knocked out. Oscar tells her “vamanos” and as they scurry into the car and drive off, Carlos comes to, wondering what Mack truck hit him.

Carlos starts the car and gets a call from someone; something about money.

Rosalia comforts Andres telling him his mother will be found innocent.

What is your relationship with Carlos Oscar queries. Sit down she says. No, Oscar bellows, who is this tipo? He is mi marido Carolina admits. Oscar looks confused…Finally, (far, far too late) she cries as she tells him her name is Carolina Robles and that Andres is her son. She tells him Carlos is wealthy and she had no money to fight him when she was blamed for his crime of fraud.

Carlos goes to the inn wanting to find Andres who we see is with Rosalia.

“Why” Oscar asks brokenhearted. She couldn’t go to jail and leave her son alone Carolina pleads. She tells him she loves him but as she goes on we see his face set in stone, anger erupting. She pretended to be her sister. I love you with all my heart she explains, but to no avail. As the terrible truth starts to sink in, he declares that the woman I love doesn’t exist. She does exist Carolina pleads, pulling off her habit. No, you are a married woman, and a mentirosa. Forgive me she pleads. He tells her to get out, she no longer exists for him. He calls her loco and screams at her again to get out. She turns and looks as he swallows, angrily wiping a tear. “Why, why” he agonizes.

Carlos is at Rosalia’s clinic, pounding on the door, but there is no answer. We then see Andres and Rosalia hiding in the barn. Did you talk to Oscar Leon Rosalia asks. Yes, Carolina answers but gives no details. Rosalia shuts the barn door.

Oscar is home trying to find comfort in a bottle of whiskey. Are you all right a concerned Moises says looking sternly at his father. Moises is chastised by his father and does leave.

Carlos shows up at Manuel and Gloria’s engagement dinner. It wasn’t enough that Carlos ruined Carolina’s romance with Oscar, he now wants to besmirch her character and disgrace her in front of her friends. Without preamble, Carlos announces he is here for “Mother Celeste”. She is in fact Carolina Robles and my wife!

A distraught Moises runs to Father Gabriel’s telling him what happened.

MONTEVERDE #53, Part 2 of 3

Carlos shows everyone the picture of him kissing Mother Celeste! It IS Mother Celeste Gloria confirms, sniffing her distaste. Juanita tries to talk but is cut off. I was waiting for Carlos to twirl his mustache but he didn’t, merely putting down some bills, giving Hugo a scathing look on the way out. Juanita runs out the door to find Carolina.

Carlos intercepts Celeste as Rosalia leaves, albeit unwillingly. He makes fun of Carolina, clapping, threatening to tell the police. Carolina informs him her lawyer is working on the case and she will soon be vindicated. Carlos isn’t listening to anything she says and as he grabs her, she tells him to leave. She goes upstairs to her room where Andres is waiting. It’s complicated she says as they pack her belongings and then put the suitcase in the wardrobe.

Moises comes in and runs to Father Gabriel saying his father is ill. Father Gabriel follows him looking ill.

One of the women (was it Gloria?) calls Mother Celeste an imposter as Manuel looks sad. “Basta” Hugo says, sticking up for her. Gloria, Angelina and Doris leave the restaurant.

Rosalia runs into Lucas. Are you all right he asks. No is the answer. I am concerned about Andres she notes. She later explains what happened to him.

Carolina and Father Gabriel brainstorm. I think she says she is going to leave Mexico with Andres.

Patron…papa, are you all right Lucas asks? Leave me alone Oscar demands but Lucas won’t, he’s sticking. He asks about Mother Celeste. How did you know Oscar demands. Lucas admits from Rosalia. Oscar calls himself an imbecile although I wasn’t able to translate the rest of his rant other than he called Carolina “maldita” and an impostor. Why Lucas, why Oscar cries. The woman I love doesn’t exist. Lucas looks horrified.

Lucia talks to Rosalia saying Diego wants her to move to Zacatillo just as Franco walks in. I’ll leave you alone Rosalia says. Lucia and Franco talk, Franco saying the only important thing is who is the father of Julieta’s baby. He wishes her happiness.

Oscar is still crying in his drink; Lucas wants to bring him coffee but Oscar doesn’t want it and demands he leave. Oscar gets so nasty, Lucas eventually acquiesced.

MONTEVERDE #53, Part 3 of 3

Juanita tells Carolina (with Father Gabriel there) that Carlos came into the inn. Carolina is thanking Father Gabriel when she hears Gloria yelling up at her, demanding an explanation. All of a sudden Andres comes out. Carolina pulls off her habit as everyone stares, not all kindly.

Rosalia tells Lucia they have to find Mother Celeste; it’s a long story.

Andres joins the group. Carolina faces the women and announces that my name is Carolina Robles and Andres is my son. She admits she has been accused of a crime but that she is innocent. Andres looks at his mother, clearly supportive. Carolina then admits she has a twin, Mother Celeste whose identity she “borrowed”. Doris puts up two fingers as everyone tries to process this. She says Juanita came only to help her and that Father Gabriel is innocent.

Rosalia and Lucia come in as Gloria starts insulting Carolina. She cries and apologizes and says she is wanted by the police although protests saying she is innocent. She thanks everyone and asks them to forgive her. Muchas gracias everyone she manages saying Monteverde is very special. Much to my surprise, Angelina allows Gloria to march her out and she says not a word to Carolina. Equally shocking, Doris follows them, silent as well without a kind word or thought to Carolina.

Gloria badmouths Carolina; Doris and Angelina feel for Father Gabriel and walk away arm in arm.

Carolina is dressed in black as she bids Juanita and Hugo goodbye. She thanks her for everything. Juanita asks Andres for a hug and then she hugs Carolina who then thanks Hugo. Moises arrives and Carolina lovingly tells the lad “adios Moises, te quiero mucho.” Andres walks up, taking his mother’s hand as they get into the car. “Come” Father says as they drive off. Hugo puts a protective arm around Juanita as Moises stares.

Rosalia and Lucia discuss Carlos’s framing of Carolina for fraud as well as Oscar and Carolina being in love with each other.

Moises comes in and tells his padrino that he feels sorry for Carolina. Oscar again tells him to leave; “esta bien” Moises declares as he pats his father’s arm. Oscar shakes a bit.

Carolina and Andres are at the bus stop as she and Father Gabriel have a sweet goodbye. The father hugs Andres and blesses them. We see them on the bus as it pulls away leaving Father Gabriel waving on the sidewalk as the theme music plays.

Lucas and Julieta talk as Franco arrives. Lucas has to tell Franco that his father is very upset. Julieta wants to know what he’s upset about but Lucas doesn’t expand. Back in his flashbacks of betrayal, Oscar recalls telling Carolina he loves her. He staggers back to the couch and belts down yet another shot. He then thinks of them hugging in bed and him asking her what she wanted to tell him; then her response that it wasn’t important. He half stands and falls back down, throwing the empty bottle in the fireplace where it breaks into smithereens.

We knew the revelation would have terrible repercussions…but it was still hard to watch. How all this will be put back together is beyond me! I was surprised at the lack of sympathy for Carolina from everyone except Rosalia and Lucia. I expected more from Angelina and Doris.

I am unclear where Carolina and Andres are headed – is it the convent Mother Celeste wanted them to go to originally? I thought surely Carlos would intercept them; has he been waylaid? Jarifa, thank you in advance for clarifying this!

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 1

A Rafael Naváez calls Carlos to tell him that he has to come back and take care of the FAXO account. He cannot do it. If Carlos doesn't they could lose all of the money.

The women at the inn tells Oscar that his son is with Rosalía the town doctor.

Carolina tells Oscar that her sister is going to come to take over the school. She asks him not to tell anyone that she was pretending to be her so that the school in Monteverde won't be put in jeopardy. He cannot believe that she is actually asking him to be an accomplice in her lie!!! She is crazy if she thinks he would agree to that. He damns the day that he ever met her.

Carolina thanks Rosalía for taking care of Andrés. She was sure that Carlos was going to take Andrés while she was talking to Oscar. Carolina has decided that she and her son will be leaving Monteverde together but without his father.
They have to go get their things.

Carlos tells Manuel that he is checking out. He, his wife and son are leaving Monteverde. His wife is the so-called Sister Celeste. Juanita a tries to shut him up but Gloria ferrets out every last detail.

Rosalía asks Carolina if she will be okay talking to Carlos alone. Carolina assures her she will. Carlos asks why his son was with Rosalía. Carolina explains that she was afraid that he would take him and thinks she was right in her suspicions. He laughs at her thinking him to be a kidnapper. Celeste tells Carlos that neither she or her son will be going with him. Carlos would have loved to have seen that idiot lover of hers face when she told him the truth. There is a change of plans. He has to get back to Mexico City so she and Andrés need to get their things. She informs him that they are not going with him. he shows her his phone and says he will be calling the police with her location as soon as he can get a cell signal. She tells him she doesn't plan on staying in Monteverde. She will not be hiding any longer.She is going to talk to her lawyer and prove her innocence. Now that Oscar knows everything, she feels free. From now on, she will confront whatever comes her way with the truth. Since she is feeling so feisty, he suggests she tells all of the women at the inn who she really is. Carolina thinks not. She has to protect her sister Celeste who will come to work in Monteverde. He snaps his fingers and tells her to get going so they can leave. She tells him that she and her son are going nowhere with him. He lost both of them and will not be seeing them again. He is left frustrated with a clenched fist.

The good father and Moisés visit Carolina who is packing up with her son. Moisés tells her what a bad state his father Oscar is in.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 2

At the restaurant, Gloria say she always knew that something shady was going on with the nun. Doris thinks they should wait to hear Carolina's version before they judge her. Gloria, as venomous as ever, doesn't need another version of what happened. Juan David says his uncle always advises not to judge others. Gloria now thinks that Juan David's uncle knew the nun was an impostor. That comment gets Angelina to tell her that Juan David is right about not jduging others. Gloria doesn't shut up and adds that Juanita must be Carolina's accomplice! They continue to argue until Hugo tells them ENOUGH! He is sure that Carolina did what she did because of her husband. Manuel asks his grandson if he knew all about this. There is no answer. Doris says they need to talk to Carolina herself.

Lucas has come to see Rosalía, since they do not have a vet, for some bandages for a horse that twisted its leg. She takes him in her office to tell him what is happening with Carolina as long as he doesn't tell anyone. Lucas is worried about hisfather when he hears that he was in love with Carolina.

Moisés tells Andrés that for his father to be like he is, something must have happened to him.

Carolina tells the good father how all the love that Oscar had for her has turned into a deep hatred. The good father is sorry things have ended up this way but at least the lies are over. Oscar deserved to know the truth. Carolina is planning on going back to Mexico City with Andrés. She needs to concentrate on proving her innocence with her lawyer. She is leaving right now.

Lucas tries to help his father but Oscar soon isn't happy that Lucas found out about him and Celeste through Rosalía (the blabbermouth?) because now the whole town must see him as an imbecile. Lucas tells him only he and Rosalía know. Oscar reminds him about how he fell into a pit when Eva left him. He was the town ogre until Carolina arrived. He fell in love with her like he never fell in love with anyone before. She also told him that she loved him but had her doubts because she didn't know if her service to God was the road she should follow or if she should choose him. She finally told him she had decided to stay a nun. He respected her decision and it was all a damn lie. She is a vile impostor. He thinks he was an idiot. Who falls in love with a nun???

Lucía tells Rosalía about Diego wanting her to move to Zacatillo. They wouldn't be living together or anything like that. The reason would be to forget Franco. Franco overhears that and asks if she wants to forget about him forever.

Lucas tries to make Oscar understand that what Carolina did had nothing to do with him. She had her own reasons. Oscar feels destroyed.

Franco didn't realize that things were so bad between them that Lucía would want to forget him. Lucía answers that she has to. What they had didn't work. He still cannot figure out why it didn't. She reminds him about Julieta and his unreasonable jealousy. Also, she met a man who cares for her and she has a relationship that gives her peace. He says that she owes him no explanations. She asks how things are going with Lucas. He says they have solved all of their problems, Lucas managed things badly with Julieta but that is all in the past. He tells her about the pending paternity test the next day.
 

MONTEVERDE parte 3

Lucía tells Rosalía it is going to be so hard getting over Franco. Every time she sees him, she wants to hug him.

Carolina asks the good father if she can take her to the bus station in Zacatillo. They have to get there before Carlos comes up with something else. The good father will take them. Gloria leading the mob, calls Celeste out for an explanation.

Lucía tells Rosalía that both Lucas and Franco must regret ever having had given Julieta a a lift.

Carolina takes the blame as the only one to have lied to the women. Moisés is upset that Carolina and Andrés lied to him. Carolina tries to make it clear that she did what she did only due to her circumstances.She never expected to meet such great people in Monteverde.Getting to know all of them has been a huge gift. She tells Moisés he was the cherry on top. Now, she carries him in her heart. She hopes that some day they can all forgive her. She and her son have to go. Monteverde will always have a special place in their hearts.

At the bus station, the good father tells Carolina that sooner or later, they both knew this moment would arrive but he never expected it would be so hard for him to say good bye to her. Carolina thanks him for for everything he did for her. She doesn't know what she would have done without him. As a matter of fact, she never could have done it without him. She will even miss him scolding her, his advice, him being the best priest ever and also being a great friend. The good father says she was the same for him. He will pray for her that her situation is solved and that she can get her life back. He will always be grateful that she brought the women to Monteverde.She and the other women returned life and joy to their town. Operation Genesis is a success!She is glad for hi since that was his dream.He adds not it is his reality. They hug. She hopes to see him under better circumstances. He says God willing they will. The good father tells Andrés to be just as brave as he has always been. His mother is very lucky to have a son like him. He blesses them before they get on the bus and tells them to go with God. Carolina and Andrés wave at the good father as they start their trip back to Mexico City.

Lucas tells Julieta they can get the results from the DNA test tomorrow.

After Franco leaves to see his father, nosy Julieta asks Lucas what is going on with Oscar. Lucas answers with only one word: stuff.
 

MONTEVERDE

I wonder how long it will be before Carolina is arrested if she indeed ends up in Mexico City. That is where they said they were going and where the bus is going, but who knows?

Yes, Oscar was lied to again by a woman he loved but did he ever stop and actually think about the situation that Carolina found/finds herself in with that nasty excuse for a husband. Somehow he made it all about himself even though he supposedly loved Carolina.

Somehow, I didn't think that Lucía expected Franco to let her go so easily.

Loved Lucas not filling Julieta in on what was wrong with his father.

I am still hoping that neither Lucas or Franco is the father of Julieta's baby so we do not have to see her character anymore.

The reaction of the women minus Rosalía and Lucía was at best disturbing.

I was happy it didn't take Moisés much to come around and reconcile with Carolina.

Jarifa, your recap was rich and replete with marvelous detailing. Your dialogue translations helped so much with the many varied emotions on display last night including grief, anger, sadness, remorse among others.

I found myself choking up a bit as Father Gabriel and Carolina bid each other goodbye. " She doesn't know what she would have done without him. As a matter of fact, she never could have done it without him. She will even miss him scolding her, his advice, him being the best priest ever and also being a great friend." Unfailingly magnanimous; Father Gabriel is a man for the ages. Thank you for translating such heartfelt sentiments that were so very touching.

Conversely, I can still envision the womens' suspicions and uncertainty as they faced Carolina, a woman alone with a child. Where was the charity and empathy? Indeed disturbing as you noted Jarifa.

Oscar's reaction was as bad as I expected. He was not only unforgiving but hard hearted. I do not like that he continually tells Moises to leave him alone when the boy is clearly worried about him. Oscar needs to grow up. Your "Somehow he made it all about himself even though he supposedly loved Carolina" was exactly right Jarifa.

So Carolina has indeed left Monteverde. I have no idea where things go from here but am hoping her innocense will be proven without too much delay and that Carlos lands in jail for a very long time.

The summary was great Jarifa and the comments. It was a disturbing episode to me. Oscar was a jerk about it. The women, egged on by Gloria, were just as jerky. Sister Celeste helped all of them, but they weren’t loyal. Gloria really needs to be taken down several notches.

I have hope that Moises will save it all. He is already thinking. He is so smart!

I think this goes into 80-something episodes, so there’s about 30 to go. Lots of time to fill. It will be interesting if we spend some time in Mexico City before this finishes. It seemed like we were getting close to the end, but too much time. Oscar has to earn his way back.

Will we find who the daddy is on Monday? Julieta is very manipulative. But maybe not evil. I’m sorry for whoever it turns out to be.

Love the Padre! Love Hugo! Love Moises and Andres! Lucas is growing on me again. Lots more to unfold!

Papas #71 part 1

Finally Prisma stood up to Nazario! As he tells her it’s always her fault.

As the kids worry Aide tells them fear can’t win. She’s gping to do what Berta would do, pray. She’s invites the kids to join her.

Facundo wants El Chacal to take him as he hold a knife to Checo’s neck. As they hear police sirens El Chacal leaves. The police hold back, but apparently Checo had a knife and stabs him in the leg. Checo is out of danger, but Facundo runs to El Chacal and they fight for the fun. It goes off and Facundo falls, giving the police a clear shot of El Chacal. They kill him.

Nazario is telling Peisma this is normal in a marriage and she’s exaggerating. She tells him it’s not normal. He is violent and aggressive, he needs to go. He says he’ll change, he hits himself in the head calling himself an idiot, etc. She says get out or she’ll call the police. He’s still saying he’ll change so she says pack his things and get out. She threatens screa,big so the neighbors hear, or calling the police. I think he got the message.

The lawyer tells Serena the penalty for laundering money is very severe. She’ll be going to federal prison in three days. She’s worried about Poncho. Cheno will get Aide and Tino. This happened in their business.

Nazario says she’s treating him like a dog. He’s got his suitcase. She tells him to get out. He wants to say good bye to Natalia. Prisma says no. He says hurting Natalia was an accident, and Prisma provoked him. She’ll denounce him if he doesn’t leave. He says they’ll talk when she calms down. She’ll call the police if he comes anywhere near them. As he leaves Natalia comes out and runs to Prisma crying, asking if they’ll be ok. Prisma says after today we’ll be better.

The family is together and Tino tells Scarlet her dad will be ok. He’ll take her to see him tomorrow. She tells everyone her grandmother was like a lion. Circe talks to Checo. He needs to tell his family what he knows. First he wants to talk to Facundo.

Scarlet tells her dad she’s sorry she didn’t want to see him in the jail. He’s sorry he didn’t try to see her earlier. Tino realizes he wanted her safe from El Chacal. Tino says he can stay with the, when he gets out of the hospital to recuperate and get to know Scarlet. He has something to tell them, but not now.

Cheno tells Poncho and the other kids about Serena. He’s sure the lawyer will prove her innocence. Chofis says Checo needs to tell him something. He hopes it’s not news that he’s going to be a grandfather, and Poncho chokes or coughs. Someone says he needs water just as Cheno gets a text from Circe saying Tino wants to see him in the afternoon. Chofis says Checo needs to tell him now.

Prisma tells Natalia Mazario won’t be back to hurt either one of them. Natalia says kids at school live with one parent and the teacher says that’s a family. Prisma tells her she must never tell what Nazario did to Rudolf or Clara Luz. They would tell the judge and she’ll lose custody. Natalia promises not to tell.

Papas #71 part 2

Circe tells Bill she’s quitting the job. Bill rhinks she can still work there, separating professional from private. She says her loyalty is to her family. She and Lila think very differently. She mentions her mother’s heart problems, Vill is surprised.

Uli and Rino are talking. He asked Hernan to help him find the videos that were used. Hernan wants money and other concessions in return. Tino says he’s already stolen from Gisela, Aide and himself.

Circe tells Checo he needs to tell his dad what happened to his mom. He doesn’t want to. She tells him he’ll feel better. He asks about the meeting at her house, will she be there. It’s just for Facundo, her parents and his dad.

Cheno is telling Serena what Checo did. Serena says he’s an adult. He tells her he won the lottery when he met her. He would trade places with her if he could. She reminds him he got her@ lawyer. He’s meeting with Tino and Aide. He’ll tell them about the money laundering and hopes they can help.

Chofis and Checo are also at the meeting. Facundo is telling the, he and Lichita were very much in love. They didn’t want to tell while he was in jail, plus Lichita and Aide were friends. Most knew she had a boyfriend, I think Checo said he knew it was Facundo. When Cheno questioned that he said just from the day of the photography show in the park. Cheno thinks back, he came up behind Lichita and frightened her. She asks him to sit down. They talk about all the love they had when married has turned into a wonderful friendship. She wants Jim to go to a photography show. He asks if Checos pictures are in it. Lichita says yes and he doesn’t want to go. She talks about it being a good career, Cheno thinks a lawyer would better. She convinces him to go. Back at Tino’s Facundo tells how he ended up owing money to El Chacal. El Chacal was threatening to hurt Scarlet. Lichita wants him to denounce him. He never thought it would cost her her life. He thinks back, he and Lichita are talking on the phone as they walk towards each other. She is nervous about El Cjacal and asks him to denounce him. Facundo thinks he can handle it. She’s excited about the photography show. She wants to introduce him as her novio to her kids. El Chacal walks up to them. Papas #71 part 3

The man from the police station is on the phone to El Chacal. El Chacal tells him they have a jewelry robbery coming up. Rhe policeman wonders about Facundo. He’ll wait for a good time and get Lichita.

Facundo isn’t sure they should go to the park. It seems that might be El Chacal’s neighborhood. Plus, is she really ready for him to meet her children and her ex. She’s sure. He mentions Scarlet will have two ,others. She says she won’t be her mother but a guide, the same as he’ll be for her kids. He says they’ll e the coolest family.

Cheno is nervous and excited at the show. He calls his mom to see why she’s not here yet. She’ll get his dad and siblings.. She’s proud of him and has a surprise for him. He wonders what. She’ll tell him at the end of the show. Chofis and Chachito come up and hug her. They miss their brother and are anxious to see him. She tells them she has a surprise at the end of the show. They want her to tell nowadays

Lichita is on her way to the show. She calls Cheno who forgot it was today. The kids are ready to leave and tell him mom has a surprise at the end of the show. Lichita is at the show. She’s so proud of jeco when she sees his name on some photos. Facundo calls and asks about a job she was trying to get.She didn’t get it. He’s only a few locks away. He’ll be there soon. Three guys follow him. El Chacal is watching Lichita. Facundo co es up ro her from behind. El Chacal has a huge gun.He aims at them but there’s too many people. He calls his goons and they start a fight with each other. Facundo pulls Lichita away and El Chacal shoots Lichita. Facundo is holding her but people surround them. He gets up and starts to leave and gets shot in the arm. He’s running as Xheco is running g after the EMTs with the gurney. The ambulance leaves and he sees Facundo. Checo is at the hospital when Cheno arrives. He’s asking all kinds of questions of Checo. Then he says Lichita will be ok. Then a doctor comes to the,. Facundo is coming around the corner. They all hear the news at the same time and all are devastated.

Welcome back Liz. Hope you had a wonderful time with your family. I was looking forward to reading your recap; it was insightful and well detailed, thank you.

Even though we knew Lichita was going to die (although I held out hope initially), watching it happen was harrowing. She finally seemed happy and ready and willing to embrace her new life which was mercilessly cut short. What a sad loss for her family and her friends who loved her.

Finally, El Chacal's demise which took far too long...

I applauded Circe's cool but obviously disparaging attitude toward Bill. It was clear that he was concerned about Aide; what a scum

At last Prisma stood up for herself, there was fire in her eyes as she told off odious Nazario.

There has been such an air of sadness tinged with hopelessness woven throughout the story, I hope Melina is exposed for the montster that she is so there can be a little light before this ends.

Liz, I didn't get to watch this episode , so I am especially grateful for your excellent recap . wow What an episode .We finally know exactly what happened to Lichita and what Checo saw . I don't understand why he felt he couldn't tell his family what happened . I suppose the writers did it for the drama of a mystery .
I think the last villain to fall will be the worst villain and secret holder ..Melina . What actually happened to her when she supposedly had that accident and when did she and devious schemer Hernan devise their plan to force themselves back into Tino's life .

Goodbye Chacal. I never understood that storyline . First , he was in cahoots with Mel and Hernsn. Then , he was threatening Favund in prison
It is great that Prisma finally had the courage to stand up to Naz to defend Natalia. Looking forward to him getting his anvil . He is caught up in the web of evil that Melina has spun . so..what anvil have the writers forged for megavillain Melina? Here we go . susan

Thanks Diana, for your comments and especially for the recap of Wednesday
‘s episode. It was nicely detailed, you did a great job. And you always add opinions and comments. I’m usually just wanting to get it finished! I tend to hit the wrong key and end up typing numbers and stuff because instead of spacing I hit the number. Then it’s a delete and retype! The doctor wants Tino to start the chemo immediately and Tino tells him about having problems at home. He also asked about losing his hair, and feeling sick. It needs to tell the family! And good old Hernan had 3 or 4 conditions before he helps his grandson. Money being the main one.

El Chacal is, or was, a real sicko. I was disappointed they killed him because he had all the information on Melina and Hernan. But Nazario knows about the money laundering and Gibron’s murder. I bet if cornered he’ll talk. I loved Prisma standing up to him and throwing him out.

Thanks Susan, but sorry you didn’t get to watch. It was action packed. It seems we’re getting rid of some bad guys early. I guess El Chacal was in prison with Facundo and was making him pay for protection. I think the jewelry robbery was the one involving Melina and Hernan, but I don’t know how they met. I’m wondering how Aurelio managed to get good cops to help, as it seems there were plenty on El Chacal’s side.

I’m still wondering if Jeni is really pregnant. And Uli and Chofis wondered if Melina really had an accident since her doctor was fake.

Liz, thank you for explaining that Tino should start the chemo immediately (which makes a lot of sense). I also hadn't realized Hernan had a list of demands; "Money being the main one" makes sad sense. I had hoped he might have a pang of conscience and reveal Melina as the murderess she is, but it seems he only wants to look out for himself, but I have a feeling the rest of his miserable life willl not be a long one.

"Uli and Chofis wondered if Melina really had an accident since her doctor was fake" was another surprise! I know we saw flashbacks of the accident but were they only from Melina's"recollection?" I also thought there was a witness but I am likely wrong.

Still lots of mysteries to ferret out. Thanks so much for keeping this going Liz and doing it so very well.

Is hernan out of the hospital now and back to living at Aide's place ? Aide has had so much stress that her symptoms are back , and now Tino's diagnosis . Wow , the writers decided to really pile on the problems as we Tumble to the end . The older kids have grown up and are trying to help out.
I think conniving Jeni isn't pregnant...just trying to trap clueless Poncho into marrying her so that she can stay at Cheno's overcrowded place .
OT..so cold here. More shoveling today . We got a lot of snow followed by s!eet.
