Well that explains who the 4th guy that attacked Aitana is. Luciano has a cousin called Luciano.....for those of us that are rooting for Aitana and Luciano#1 this is good news

I'm watching 28 and 29 tonight so I may get the 2 episodes confused.

There was a flashback in 28 I think when Aitana was pregnant so she remembers that. She actually looked happy about it. I wonder why she gave the baby up, unless the baby was stolen and she was told she died.
Silvi is not happy that Nuria is letting Iñigo eat dinner at her house to celebrate his ascension to CEO.

Belinda should give Ro a chance he seems like a nice boy.

This episode seemed really choppy. I wonder if they cut some of it.

Michaela is growing on me. It was nice of her to tell Eloisa she could suspend her salary if they need the money.

I'm also confused about Larisa. She really does seem to care for Luciano. She isn't as bad a villain as most so far.
Juanjo is back! I thought she fired him. Looks like he's back to convince her to give him a shot in the romance department. She'll think about it.

Wow, Mateo is putting revenge thoughts in Ximena's head. If you want Zacarias fired it can be arranged. She agrees it would be for the best.
 

MONTEVERDE #85, Part 1 of 4

Celeste is (wrongfully) imprisoned as Carolina experiences a different version of hell, knowing Carlos has her beloved Andres in his fiendish grasp.

Andres has tricked his father and managed to escape the bedroom where he’d been held; as he rushes frantically toward the door to escape, keys in his grasp, to his (and our) shock and dismay, he runs right into Sara. He excitedly tells Sara he has to leave but she disagrees. He begs her but she takes the keys from him and runs and opens the bedroom door releasing demon Carlos. Carlos marches threateningly toward his son and manhandles him as Andres calls his father mentirosa. He drags him back into the bedroom, screaming all the while. Carlos utters some nonsense blaming Oscar but eventually both he and Sara calm down. She has brought him the passports for him and Andres as he requested. Realizing he better look his gift horse in the mouth, he hugs her although she looks uncomfortable. Sara’s phone rings and he tells her not to answer the unknown number as it could be someone from Monteverde.

Lying in bed, Andres cries for his “mamita”.

In jail of another sort, “Carolina” and Aide talk...

Juan David is passing out “have you seen” Andres flyers as Oscar marshals the troops. Father Gabriel prays to the father of the greatest authority.

Carlos makes a call as Sara is fixing dinner. Leave me alone Andres says shrugging off Carlos’ grip as he guides him toward the table, Andres fighting him every step of the way. Carlos talks badly about Carolina and tells Andres he is his hijo in the same manner in which he would describe one of his possessions. Sara sits down worriedly, as well she should.

Lucia is making food for her and Rosalia; they are making a trip to Zacatillo.

Sara tries to reason with Carlos but he isn’t having it and slams his hand down on the table in emphasis.

“Celeste” and Oscar return to talk to the policeman they’d reported Andres’ abduction to. The upshot is that he seemingly has no leads. I think he mentions trying to locate Andres with his cell phone chip (?)

MONTEVERDE #85, Part 2 of 4

Carlos herds Andres and Sarah into his car. As he goes to get into the driver’s seat, all of a sudden Andres makes a break for it! Unfortunately, in his haste he trips over a tree branch falling and hurting his leg. We see a bloody line on his jeans as Carlos picks him up and carries him off.

Lucia tries on a lovely pink head scarf with butterflies likely anticipating her hair loss due to chemotherapy. She looks in the mirror, eyes filling with tears. Rosalia tells her she looks pretty, puts her hand on her arm and tells her friend she will be all right. Lucia hugs her dear friend tightly as tears cascade down her cheeks.

Andres is on the bed, the bloody leg gash visible as he cries.

The search continues; Moises asking passersby if they have seen his friend.

Carlos is not in the least sympathetic calling his own son stupid. Carlos calls someone saying Andres needs a doctor. He can barely walk as Sara helps Andres limp outside.

Franco is walking down the street passing out fliers when Juanita calls him; he has no news as Hugo comforts her.

“Carolina” meets with Viviana. There is no word on Andres’ whereabouts.

At the hospital, the doctor tells Andres he is being very brave as she tends to his wound. She gives Carlos a prescription for the infection. She asks Sara if she is Andres’ mother. “No, an amiga” she replies. “NO, she is NOT an amiga” Andres protests loudly. The trio depart shortly after.

Oscar reassures “Celeste” that Andres is very intelligent. They drive to an old house that seems to be in the middle of nowhere. Their knocks go unanswered. Something makes “Celeste” walk back. She looks in a window and before she departs, she leaves a flyer on the doorstep.

MONTEVERDE #85, Part 3 of 4

Every good resident of Monteverde continues to search far and wide. A crushed Juanita pours her heart out to Gloria and Manuel as Hugo supports her. She says what a good person Carolina is. Trinidad and another inn resident come in offering support and sympathy. They soon leave to visit Angelina.

Franco has no news for Oscar but “Celeste” appreciates his efforts.

Viviana gets a call from OMG, wait for it - Padilla!!!! He acts friendly, wanting to meet although she (understandably) acts frustrated and indifferent, shaking her head after she hangs up.

Franco, Erika, Moises “Celeste” and Oscar meet. Moises gives “Celeste” and Oscar hugs although there seems little to be happy about.

Andres limps back into the house where Sara has picked up a flyer left on the doorstep! It is obvious that this is the very house Celeste and Oscar visited earlier.

“Carolina “asks the guard for something/to do something and she whatever it is, she allows her to do it.

Carlos waves the flyer in front of Sara’s face; they need to leave now!

Franco comes home to Lucia, Lucas and Rosalia. Any news Lucas asks.? Unfortunately, no. Lucia tells Franco she and Rosalia went to Zacatillo. She asks if she can see Aquiles tomorrow; Lucas will see to it.

“Celeste’s” phone rings and miracle of miracle, it is the doctor from the hospital! She said she treated the boy on the flier in the hospital but that his name was given as “Camillo.” She assures “Celeste” the injury isn’t grave. She urges the doctor to report the encounter to the police.

MONTEVERDE #85, Part 4 of 4

Viviana, thinking Padilla stood her up again, is ready to leave the bar when he finally shows up. After some back and forth, he assures her he has evidence that will help Carolina. But it becomes clear it is all about the dinero for him. He writes down a figure on a piece of paper that he pushes toward her. She will call her client but wants assurances. (Jarifa, would you kindly explain their conversation in more detail especially as to what evidence he claims to have? Also, did he come forward because he found out Carlos abducted Andres or was it just fortuitous timing? Thank you in advance).

Andres won’t take his medicine despite Sara’s pleas. Carlos wants to go and they put Andres’ shoes on.

Aide comes over to “Carolina” who starts reading to her. A puzzled Aide wonders why she is so religious all of a sudden. Then, she quickly and intuitively puts two and two together realizing it is Celeste and not Carolina before her.

The doctor speaks with the policeman telling him about Andres’ visit. When she describes the woman, “Celeste” immediately declares that it is Sara. The policeman has the doctor sign a declaration corroborating her story. “Celeste” thanks her. This is a crucial moment the policeman says. He tells “Celeste” to be strong, they will recoup her sobrino.

Carlos is driving, Andres and Sara in the back seat when they see a myriad of lights flashing in the distance. A livid Carlos has no choice but to avoid the roadblock by taking a U turn as he curses away.

“No”, “si” “Carolina” mumbles but Aide is way ahead and she has no choice but to admit she is Celeste. She gives her the reader’s digest version of what occurred and that she and her sister changed places. Unfortunately, hyena Artida is standing at the bars and has heard every word. You are Celeste she declares, practically salivating at the thought!

I suspect a cornered Carlos will be extremely dangerous…

Padilla has reappeared. Will he save the day or be one more obstacle to overcome??

Mi verdad #29 extras

One of the big reveals tonight was Luciano discovery of Eloisa's cancer. She explained the hiding of it was because of the upcoming wedding. Luciano calls all of his brothers to her room, dismisses Aitana, who of course listens at her connecting door, to reveal the news. Luciano was angry at Aitana for hiding the truth. His mother reminds him that she is her employee.

Iñigo foists the job of firing 26 workers on Luciano. Zac is dragged in to bring the workers to him. His family is safe from the purge.

Foolish Aitana thinks Ximena will take her advice and offer of free housing to attend the herbal school ((was it her mother offering a place for Ximena to stay).

Mateo visits an weeping Ximena and asks do you want Zac gone from our employment? It can be arranged. She nods yes.

Thanks Diana. I was not surprised to see the return of Padilla. I'll await Jarifa's explanation of that encounter.

Not only did the doctor give Andres alias, she also gave Carlos new name so that will certainly help tighten the noise. Those fake passports won't be much help. Hopefully Sara will realize how bad Carlos is. I wonder if she was a victim of not being able to see her father in a nasty divorce and that is why she is so gullible. Amazing she couldn't treat Andres more as she is a veterinarian in real life. I think he gouged his leg on a piece of rebar sticking out of the log or ground.

Some clueless cops at the checkpoint. You would think the car turning around would be noticed since it is dark and the headlights were on. Maybe one of them will redeem himself and pursue them.

Of course the switch is noticed by Aida, and they foolishly discuss it where they can be overheard.

That should be tighten the noose! I'm doing this on my phone so I only see a few lines and miss the autocorrect changes it likes to make for mee. I can only see 4 lines of text and have to scroll to see more and I'm usually lazy and don't bother proofreading. The mistakes jump out at me as soon as I post and reread the comment.

Good point about Sara being unable to render any medical treatment although the hospital trip was necessary, especially for the meds. I have no sympathy for her especially now that she sees Andres despises his father and hears his valid reasons for doing so.

I was also hoping someone at the checkpoint would see the car but it appeared as though there were quite a few cars pulled over already. Plus, with Carlos' identity "out there", they are now fugitives on the run.

I don't know how you manage to do everything on your phone! I am very impressed. It is hard for me to even post a line or two; I have great difficulty.

Late start today. We have extremely high winds today and the electricity and cable have been in and out already. I swear, the more technological we get, the less the infrastructure can hold up. ☹️

Gee, the cousin is also Luciano??? The actor playing this new character is Alfredo Gatica , who is a favorite here at Caray. He often plays a villain , but he has also had good guy roles and even some comic roles. So, was he part of the attack Aitana?
I wonder if this new kid pursuing Belinda is really a good guy .
Mateo just gets worse and worse. When he isn't sitting on his mommy's lap, he is creeping around making trouble and maneuvering poor, innocent Ximena into his arms. Ugh. Susan

MONTEVERDE EXTRAS parte 1

I am publishing in sections due to the windy situation.

Andrés is distressed to hear that Sara thinks that his place is with his father who loves him so much and is doing the right thing. Sara locks the outside door and then lets Carlos out. As Carlos manhandles Andrés, he calls Sara a liar which doesn't make Carlos the any happier. .He drags the boy back to his room to sleep. He bales Oscar for his son's behavior but Sara blames Carolina having poisoned the boy's mind against him. Carlos looks at the passports. His new identity is Raúl Olivares and Andrés is Camilo. Sara has a new chip for his cellphone. He asks Sara to stay over since he wants to enjoy her company. He is leaving tomorrow morning early with Andrés. They are waiting for them in a hotel in Tapachula. They will be driving all day to get there. She encourages him to talk to Andrés.

Aide finds out that another inmate took Celeste's soap from her. Celeste refuses to confront the "soap stealer." Evidentlyy eh woman needs the soap more than she does. As they say in Proverbs 19: Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord and He will reward them in the kingdom of heaven. Celeste will take care of the matter in another way.

Carlos talks to his contact asking how long the crossing should take and if there will be any police or border control.Yes, Carlos has their new passports. he will call him when they get close to the border so he can get them across.

As Andrés complains that he doesn't want to go with him, Carlos threatens hi., If he doesn't come with him, he will call the police and tell them that the woman they have in jail is Celeste and not Carolina. Andrés says if he turned himself in to the police , his mother would be free. Andrés wants to make it clear. He has to leave the country and his son Andrés is coming with him unless he wants to end up in an orphanage.

Lucía wants to go to Zacatillo to buy headscarves for when her hair falls out.

Carlos tells his son to use the bathroom because once they get going, he will be stopping for nothing.

As Sara tries to take Andrés' part, Carlos says he doesn't want to be rude but she needs to mind her own business. His son needs a firm hand.

Carolina and Oscar talk to the police official. He has no real news for them. All they could do with the info that was sent to them from Mexico City is track a couple of calls made from Carlos' phone. They were tracked to a location that is very close to Monteverde. They tried calling the number that phone called but there was no answer. Now both phones are inactive. He thinks Caros turned off his phone or changed the chip. He shows them a map and points out a general location from where the calls were made. He adds the police have reacted quickly and have established roadblocks to see who is going and coming from the area involved. He thinks that Carlos and his son are still there.Oscar is sure they will find them. The police official says now they can only wait until Carlos makes a mistake.

Carlos is worried that Andrés could end up with tetanus since he ripped his leg open on a rusted piece of metal!

Oscar and Carolina go to investigate the area on the map the police official pointed out to them. Oscar knows there is a ranch out there and a few houses.

Lucía looks at herself with a head scarf and says she doesn't feel like herself. Rosalía tells her how pretty shelooks and says of course she is who she is. She is Lucía who has had to face so many things in life. She is the most loving, fun and best friend . . . A head scarf doesn't make her someone else.

Carlos decides that soap and water wash will not treat the wound. It is too deep. They need to go to a hospital. He tells Andrés that if anyone asks him his name he is "Camilo." He has to call his contact on the border to tell them he is running late because of this stupid thing Andrés did. He tells him he will call them when they leave. He wants Sara to ride in the backseat with Andrés so he doesn't try to jump out again.

MONTEVERDE EXTRAS parte 2

Celeste tells the lawyer about the pity she feels for the women who are locked up at the jail. The lawyer says the majority have committed crimes while others are victims like her sister. The lawyer asks if she has had problems with any of them. Celeste says not really. The lawyer (looking around to make sure nobody is listening!!!)tells her that they have a cybernetic investigator who is looking for the bank account that Carlos opened abroad so they can prove that Carlos is the only one guilty of the fraud. Celeste wants the bottom line if that does not happen. The lawyer explains that her sister will have to turn herself in and Celeste will also have to serve a minor sentence for identity fraud. The lawyer wants to think positive.

The doctor has treated and bandaged Andrés' leg. The doctor gives them a prescription for an analgesic and an antibiotic. She has also given him the first shot of a three shot regimen for tetanus. (PSA!) Andrés presumes he won't be able to travel. Carlos says they are leaving tomorrow. The doctor would really like to see Andrés tomorrow to treat his wound and to make sure it is healing properly and that there is no infection. Carlos says they are leaving town in the morning. Sara offers to take care of the wound. The doctor still thinks it would be best that she herself treat it tomorrow since it was so severe. With a smile, she assures Andrés that he will be like new in no time but he really shouldn't go jumping around!

The creepy cabin does have bars on the windows.

Juanita tells Gabriel and Gloria that she came to work for Carolina when Andrés was five. She never expected this from Carlos. He was a normal guy. He wasn't home much but it was understood that he worked a lot. He, also, treated his son very well. Carolina was the parent that spent the most time with Andrés. She never thought that Carlos was a bad person. He hid it well. Gabriel concludes that you never really know anyone. Juanita says it has been hard on Andrés realizing that his father is a criminal and that he set his mother up to take the fall.

Oscar and Carolina are meeting up with Franco, Moisés, and Erika at the El Cisne restaurant in Zacatillo. Nobody has any news. Everyone feels guilty for having allowed Sara to get so close to the boys. Carolina puts the blame where it should be: on Carlos. Oscar and Carolina manage to stay in town by themselves to put up more posters.

Padilla will meet with the lawyer at 8:00 at the La Malasaña Bar. He has something that could be useful for Carolina's case.

Andrés is hopeful he will be found after seeing the missing poster. Carlos tells him that will not be happening since they are getting out of there tonight.

Thanks Diana and Jarifa, great recaps of more excitement. Many near misses as Oscar and “Celeste” are at the cabin Andre’s was in. Also, Lucia and Rosalia are in Zacatillo, as are Oscar and Carolina, plus Franco and others. It must be a bigger town but Andre’s was at that hospital.

I think Sara is starting to think she might have made a mistake. She obviously realized Carlos is not exactly the loving father she assumed he was. And he’s risking his son’s health to get out of the country. I think she’ll eventually be on Andre’s’ side and try to help him. They need to post pictures, and have on the news, the names and faces of both kidnappers. The doctor was a big help and I’m hoping they get Andre’s back tonight. I am worried about what that bad prisoner will do with the information she has now.

Thanks Kat, now we know who the 4th rapist was! I’m thinking Aitana didn’t know the brothers, maybe just knew of them. Or maybe saw them around town. They must have used the name Luciano and that’s why she was sure it was him. This cousin looks like he’d lead them into trouble. And it was pretty obvious that Bruno doesn’t think much of him. I think the cousin said something about Aitana’s eyes and he’s seen them before.
I also felt Aitana was happy about the baby. And her mom mentioned the loss of the dad and the other loss. I wonder if money talks and that’s how the baby was given to Luciano and his wife. If Belinda is her daughter. Thinking the baby died would also be a reason she knows Belinda is the age of her child but doesn’t even think about it being her child.
So Mateo is going to have Zac fired to please Ximena. He seems like an important person in the ranch. Will the brothers go along with it?
I like Juanjo. Nuria had told him she still loves are husband. Hopefully when she finds out who her lover was, or is, and also how he really double crossed his brother to get that job she’ll realize he’s trash and kick him to the curb.
The mom is not a good judge of character. Mateo, the real sicko, is her favorite. And she gives Luciano’s job as manager to Inigo. Didn’t someone mention his friend had to know all this stuff before the article was published?

 

MONTEVERDE EXTRAS parte 3

Celeste asks a guard for a favor. Her initial reaction is not good but she eventually softens when Celeste asks if she can help her get a Bible and explains that she needs it as much as a doctor his manual, a soldier his sword, and a traveler his map The guard will see what she can do. Celeste thanks her and asks God to bless her.

Andrés argues that they cannot leave because the doctor wants to see him tomorrow. Carlos says he can take care of his leg. His son reminds him he isn't a doctor. Carlos insists it is no big deal. All you have to do is clean the wound, change the gauze, put on another bandage and bingo! You are done! And if it hurts, it is what it is! Andrés accuses him of not loving him. Sara stops the arguing.She thinks they should have the doctor see Andrés and then leave from there. The boy can barely walk. He just got his leg stitched up. Sorry but Carlos is taking no more risks and they are leaving tonight!

Carolina and Oscar go to meet the doctor at the police station. She concludes that her son is still there.

Padilla arrives a half hour late. He orders a double tequila. She refuses another drink. Anyway, she only drinks with her friends. he has heard there is an arrest warrant out for Carlos. He doesn't understand since his wife is in jail.She tells him to go talk to the judge. He asks her not to be difficult. He has something that could change her client's life. He asks her if she remembers that the USB with the information that could exonerate her client Carolina Robles was stolen from his office, well, what do you know? He found it! If they can come to an agreement, it can be all hers.

Sara is trying to convince Andrés to take his antibiotics.He is convinced his father doesn't care about him or he would take him back to the doctor. Sara tries to explain that his father is feeling a lot of pressure . . . If he stays, he could end up arrested and Andrés in an orphanage.He is willing to lie to the police and just turn up and not mention his father. No such luck, Carlos is ready to go. Andrés moans he is in pain. Sara thinks it best that she accompany them. That takes Carlos by surprise but he agrees. (I wonder if she has her passport on her) He concludes that she could help him outwit the police. The police are looking for a man and a boy. Now they would be a couple. Yes, she is sure she wants to do it. She promised she would help andis also worried about Andrés.

The lawyer thinks that Padilla must be joking. Padilla says he isn't because the USB contains all of the data from all of the foreign accounts under the names of all of the corporations that Carlos formed.She asks why is he offering this to her at this time. He says there has been a charge filed against him by Gustavo Riosecos's mother for trespassing on private property.He is tired of having to hide out. He wants to get out of the country and he needs money to do that.
He shows her how much money he wants. She thinks it is a lot. He thinks it is worth it. She will talk to her client and adds that they will not pay a cent until they have corroborated that what he says is on the USB is true. He agrees that is fair. He offers to pay for her earlier drink and will be awaiting her call.

Nope, Celeste is in no mood to go play cards but to read the Bible.
 

MNTEVERDE Extras parte 4

Carolina's ears perk up when the doctor says that the man said that they were going to be traveling. They were going to leave tomorrow. The doctor told them she wanted to see the boy tomorrow to treat and check on his wound. She doubts they will show up. The man seemed determined to go. Carolina reminds them that Carlos wanted to take Andrés out of the county. Now the police official is sure that Carlos and the boy are still there. They are going to reinforce their monitoring efforts on the roads and in town. Carlos will be cornered and that will make him more likely to make mistakes. Carolina is not so sure. The official makes it clear that they are going to do all they can to get her nephew back.

Too bad that Celeste didn't learn to be more circumspect from her lawyer about talking in a public place, as is the prison.

Seems like Sara never expected things to get so ugly with Carlos. I do not think she likes what she is seeing. Oh well, too little, too late.

Jarifa, yes, this was such a thrilling episode! Your careful explanations and marvelous inisghts educated and enlightened me; what a joy to read! I am so very grateful you did all of this despite your power issues. I could not have done this without your wisdom guiding me through.

"As they say in Proverbs 19: Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord and He will reward them in the kingdom of heaven". Your level of detail is remarkable.

Carlos descends into deeper darkness; can madness be far behind? He purports to be a good father and although fully aware of the severity of Andres' wound, he chooses flight instead of the necessary medical attention for his supposedly "beloved" son.

I always enjoy tales of redemption. While I've often mentioned I felt Padilla would return, I had envisioned it would be under entirely different circumstances. Pangs of guilt coupled with a yearning to find a place to call home. Coming forward because it was the right thing to do. Was I ever wrong! "...he has heard there is an arrest warrant out for Carlos. He doesn't understand since his wife is in jail". He doesn't give a damn that Carolina was jailed, he has turned up only to fill his pockets and slink away into the night. That said, unfortunately, he and the cybernetic investigator appear to be the only hopes to prove Carolina's innocence.

I am fervently hoping Carlos gets apprehended tonight and Andres safely returned. Perhaps Sara might be somewhat redeemed by helping Andres escape.

"Too bad that Celeste didn't learn to be more circumspect from her lawyer about talking in a public place, as is the prison" was exactly right!! Hopefully her silence can be bought as this last minute mishap is just another cross to bear.

I'm with you in thinking (and hoping) Sara has a change of heart. It won't absolve her but she will be doing the right thing reuniting Andres with Carolina.

Now that Sara has been ID'd as Carlos' accomplice hopefully her face will be splashed across every news update!

Yes, having Celeste and Aide's conversation overheard by the bullying inmate was so unfortunate. I'm hoping she can be bribed into silence.

Susan, you know I am a big fan of all the Gatica men.

Alfredo is so young and handsome. I'm very surprised he hasn't had any lead roles since Ringo.

Carlos Gatica had an all too brief role in Monteverde. Once again, he didn't get the girl! I'd like to see him in something where that actually happens. And Luis is always a favorite.

I'll try to catch a bit of the show tonight.

Diana,, the Gaticas are all talented actors. Carlos should be getting galan roles . I cannot understand why that isn't happening . He makes an excellent good guy. In " MI verdad" , Alfredo Gatica plays a very slick, obnoxious bad guy.

MI verdad #30 part 1

Well that is obnoxious. Mateo tells Ximena it's her fault she lost the baby because of her obsession over Zac! What an a*s! Then he tells her what happened was for her good. She agrees he is right. Fire Zac so he goes far away from here she adds.

Lomeli (primo Luciano, that's what Iñigo calls him so seems like a good way to differentiate), of course is best buddies with the bad cousin.

Aitana has another flashback nightmare. She gets up to get fresh water from the kitchen and runs into Luciano. He apologized for getting angry at her for not telling him about his mom's cancer. He thanks her for taking such good care of her. She says that's her job. He says she has gone above and beyond and his mother feels safe with her, etc. he notices her anguish as she tells him she had a nightmare that she would rather not remember. Luciano says he supports her, she can count on him.

Luciano tells Belinda about the cancer diagnosis. He wants her to be nice to abuela for his sake. She'll visit her after school she says.

Lomeli accosts Aitana in the hallway. She tells him she has a lot to do as she turns away. He grabs her arm. No me toques! He is sure he knows her from somewhere. He insists that sooner or later he'll remember where he knows her from.

Micaela tells Clem and her husband about Eloisa's diagnosis. They discuss all the bad things that have happened, including Ximena being 'sick". Aitana is in the kitchen at this point. She asks what's wrong with her. Micaela chews her out, her behavior leaves a lot to be desired.

Nuria tells Silvi about Juanjo calling on her the night before (while she was in her pj's). She admits she does like him, but she is scared.

All the boys, plus Lomeli, are at the breakfast table getting along for a change. Eloisa thinks it's due to her imminent death. They tell her they are just keeping her stress down. She comments they are all have distinct character traits even with the same parents. She hopes their uncharacteristic cordiality lasts, it's her best medicine.
 

Mi verdad #30 part 2

Aitana texts Zac. Ximena is sick in bed and doesn't want to see anyone. It's strange. Bruno gets snarky with her about not doing her job properly because she s preoccupied with Zac. He threatens her with dismissal if she shirks her duties. Aitana doesn't understand his attitude (well she did lead him on a bit before he went to rehab so he does have a point,).

Meanwhile Iñigo is giving Zac a hard time. Nobody here is irreplaceable. We may have to cut more personnel. Zac insists they are all good workers, we are working with the bare minimum of hands. Iñigo tells Zac he is keeping an eye on him (and the nurse).

Back to Bruno who is mad because he was changing for her. She reminds him it was for himself that he needs to change, not her. She tells him to grow up.

Aitana calls mom about the second Luciano, though she isn't sure if he is her attacker. Mom tells her she has 2 options, leave, or stay and figure which Luciano violated her. She says the doubt is killing her. Mom wants he to be careful.

Luciano is giving Iñigo advice on how the enterprise is run, Iñigo says he knows what he's doing, thank you very much. Mateo and Bruno come in. They both eat Zac sacked for their impossible loves. Luciano defends Zac.

Aitana picks clems brains about the brothers and Lomeli. Clem I think says that Luciano, Iñigo and Mateo did not get along in their youth.

Bruno justifies getting rid of Zac because he, Bruno, is in love with Aitana. Luciano tries to reason with him. Iñigo is tired of Zac's high and mighty attitude, and Mateo adds his 2 cents. He accused me of poisoning his dog!

Back to the kitchen where clem tells Aitana that Lomeli hasn't been back for a long time. She thinks something happened the last time he was there, though she doesn't know what. Aitana wonders was it 15 years ago. Clem recalls it was a bit longer than that. Clem thanks Aitana for her matrimonial advice to help her and Juventino.

Lomeli keeps hounding Aitana. He is sure he knows her from somewhere.




 

Mi verdad #30 part 3

Well Iñigo decided that Zac is needed at the ranch and the two brothers only want him fired because of Aitana and Ximena. Luciano tells Bruno if he really loves Aitana he would want her to be happy. Inigo and Luciano leave the office as the other 2 brothers complain Iñigo was supposed to be on our side.

Belinda talks to her curly haired friend (whose name never is spoken!) at school. She tells her that abuela has cancer. They have never gotten along, but she doesn't wish her ill. She mentions she wants to get close to Larisa. She thinks she knew about the fraud and wants to prove it.

Eloisa warns Aitana that Luciano is a womanizer. Aitana clarifies, Luciano Lomeli, right? Yes. Keep your distance from him. We don't want problems with Zac.

Micaela knocks. A bouquet of flowers arrived. She gives Eloisa the card, who then asks Aitana to read it as she's lost her glasses. It's from Larisa, apologizing for what her father did.

Mateo and Bruno now come to visit and dismiss the "servants"and take the flowers with you, Eloisa says.

Papa calls Larisa. He's living the high life, he did it all for her. Everything he has is hers, blah blah. Larisa tells him he ruined her life and hangs up on him.

Mateo and Bruno try to get mom to fire Zac. She says he and his family are untouchable. Your job is to support Iñigo. But Mom whines Bruno. What I say goes, Eloisa says.

Well Larisa didn't hang up. There's an order for your arrest dad, etc. dad hopes she destroyed her computer. Dad says our name still has cred in Mexico. It will all blow over. Come join me and enjoy our money. She hates him and is ashamed to be his daughter.
Eloisa discusses her sons wanting to fire Zac, but the Castillo family is off limits. I don't want any problems.

Mateo tells Ximena that unfortunately Zac can't be fired, yet. Ximena has reconsidered, having him fired isn't right. Mateo gets his crazy look.

Aitana asks Bruno why he wants to cast out Zac. I know it's because you are jealous and angry. Don't you talk bad about me or mistreat me, you hear!



 

MONTEVERDE #86, Part 1 of 4

I am going to refer to the sisters by their true identity, not the sister they are impersonating. 😊

In a grim and far from private jail cell, an admission is being made. “I am not Carolina; I am her sister Celeste!” Before Aide can react, Artida, having heard this life altering confession, jumps out like a jack in the box, immediately threatening to spill her secret. Mere seconds pass when another inmate rushes in brandishing a screwdriver (like the weapon it is) ready to plunge it into Artida. Artida turns and bars her teeth as a scuffle ensues. The guard quickly rushes in; Celeste tells the guard it was an accident and consequently, Artida and the vengeful (and quite crazed) prisoner and the offending weapon are taken away.

Viviana calls Carolina and tells her Padilla has offered evidence that will prove her innocence, but at a price. Carolina thanks Viviana and then shares what she learned with Oscar; she wants to seek Celeste’s counsel.

Carlos, Sara and Andres are back at the house. Andres is not cowed and keeps lashing out at increasingly wild eyed Carlos. Andres tells Sara he is worried about his mother.

Oscar is going to do a video showcasing Andres’ picture, his plight and making a plea to the public to help find him.

Sara closes the bedroom door and tells Carlos that Andres is greatly affected by what has transpired. As he yells, she reminds him that Andres is his son and that Carlos is making him suffer because of how he feels about his ex. Carlos realizes that he has to mollify Sara somewhat and ends up holding her, looking as though he would rather be anywhere else, with anyone else!

Celeste, who was nicked in the scuffle, returns to the cell with a bandage on her hand/wrist. As she and Aide talk, Aide laughs saying how the sisters’ personalities are so different. Aide wishes her friend a good night and leaves. Celeste prays but is temporarily diverted as her hand hurts.

Oscar’s video has gone live – everyone and anyone including, Hugo/Juanita, Father Gabriel, Juan David/Angelina, Gloria/Manuel, Doris/Cárcamo, Lucas/Rosalia/Lucia oh, and Madre Gustava (who stares intently with a barely perceptible nod) are listening to every word. Oscar introduces himself holding a picture of Andres’ poster. He goes on to say Andres has been abducted by his father and what a wonderful boy he is with such a good heart. He misses and just wants to be back with his mother. Sara, who is also watching, looks quite affected by what she has seen.

Father Gabriel calls Hugo asking if they saw the video. He then tells them that the doctor who treated Andres made a statement to the police. Hugo kisses Juanita and leaves as she shakes her head, trying to absorb it all.

The next day, Artida runs into Celeste and Aide in the hall. It appears she is going to remain mum because Celeste didn’t rat her out.

MONTEVERDE #86, Part 2 of 4

The next morning, Carlos is trying to be sweet and suave with Sara. He kisses her (looking rather repulsed) as she, in return, looks vacant eyed and empty.

Carolina smilingly tells Oscar that the video is all over social media and has garnered a lot of comments.

Lucia is with Aquiles outside in the grass. All of a sudden, she gets dizzy and faints. As he comes upon her, Lucas jumps the fence, running to her, calling for help as he feels her pulse. He lifts her up and runs off, carrying her in his arms.

Carolina and Viviana meet to discuss Padilla but of course Andres is uppermost in her mind.

Father Gabriel, Lucas, Juan David and Franco meet and strategize.

Carlos’ contact arrives and Oscar pays him. The “getaway” vehicle looks like a hearse (at least to me) and doesn’t seem to blend in but I digress. Andres starts acting up as Carlos forces him into the car. Two motorcycle riders also arrived, as to why, I cannot say. If they serve any purpose as far as our story goes, kindly enlighten me 😊

Oscar and Carolina search for any sighting of Andres and his captors as does Juan David and Father Gabriel and Franco and Hugo. They have not found anything thus far.

Sara is driving the as snake Carlos slithers on the floor of the back seat, holding Andres down, close to the floor. Carlos asks Sara if she sees any police but she hasn’t.

Viviana meets Padila at a café. She demands the USB which she insert into her computer. The first document she reviews looks legit and a tiny hint of a smile plays on her face.

All of a sudden, Oscar and Sara see Sara! Instantly alert, Oscar immediately makes a U turn to follow her. They are in hot pursuit as Sara panics, an agitated Carlos groaning from the back seat. Sara is driving as fast and furious as Vin Diesel as Oscar struggles to catch up.

Padilla tells Viviana he can’t tell her where he got the information, it’s professional. She completes the money transfer as he smiles. They shake hands and he strides out into the sunset, never to be seen again (?)

MONTEVERDE #86, Part 3 of 4

Carolina calls Franco to update him about the chase; Juan David and Father Gabriel are also notified. Sara is still driving like a bat outta hell making a razor-sharp turn. To his credit, Oscar stays with her, remaining hot on the trail. Andres starts struggling with his father as Sara comes to a roadblock. She looks in the rearview mirror as a car comes up behind them. She is stuck, there is nowhere to go and she is the next car in line. The police seem to be only giving the car occupants a cursory look. For some reason, they immediately let Sarah go through but stop Oscar! As Oscar and Carolina protest vociferously, all of a sudden, Sara pulls over and opens the rear car door, letting Andres out! He runs to his mother as Oscar walks behind the police as they approach Sara. Rather than immediately checking to see if anyone else is in the car, they arrest Sara as Carlos slips out of the back of the car, crawls into the front seat and starts driving away! The police jump on an open-air vehicle in hot pursuit. You are very brave Oscar tells Andres. Carolina introduces herself to the police as Andres’ tia.

Rosalia and Lucas (still carrying Lucia) arrive at the hospital. Lucia is immediately wheeled down the hall on a gurney.

As a handcuffed Sara stands by the police car, Andres wants to talk to her. Carolina tells him she isn’t a good person but Andres insists. Kindly fill in…

Lucas calls Franco who asks if Lucia is OK. The answer is no so Franco immediately hightails it to the hospital. The doctor mentions several possibilities of what could be behind Lucia’s episode. Lucas and Rosalia look at each other soberly.

Franco sits on Lucia’s bed, taking her hand, saying mi amor. She immediately asks after Andre. She asks what the doctor says but I can’t discern the answer. As soon as she finishes speaking, she leans back against the pillow. He tells the others she is tired. After, I am unsure what the exact diagnosis/reason the doctor gives but I’m fairly sure she said the cancer did not metastasize. Everyone is relieved so I don’t believe the news was dire.

Andres gives testimony to the policeman to whom Oscar and Carolina had reported him missing.

The police come across Carlos’ abandoned car. He is walking the streets in a black baseball cap and sunglasses. He makes a call.

Viviana visits (who I believe is a judge) saying she has evidence in Carolina’s case.

MONTEVERDE #86, Part 4 of 4

Father Gabriel and Juan David arrive back in town, heralding Andres’ joyous return; Oscar delivers him to an excited, relieved and very welcoming crowd. A loud cheer goes up as Oscar, Carolina and Andres emerge from the jeep. Everyone claps happily and heartily! Let the celebration begin.

Back at Oscar’s, Erika hustles the reunited besties away for a snack. Carolina removes her habit and kisses Oscar. You are a good man she tells him; he effuses how much he loves her as they kiss.

Lucia, looking white as a ghost, lays back on the bed pillows. She is teary-eyed as Franco caresses her face, reassuring her she will be fine. She falls asleep almost immediately.

Carolina tells Oscar she wants to talk to him. She is worried about Celeste but I couldn’t follow the rest. They are interrupted as Moises and Andres call for them.

In the last scene, Carlos walks into what looks like a dilapidated warehouse and passes a packet o’ money across the table to a nefarious looking man. The man procures a paper bag and I know before it is even opened, that it is a gun. Carlos picks up the gun and flicks the barrel that is empty. For now.

First and foremost, we breathe a sigh of relief that Andres is home after such a harrowing experience. Hopefully, the fact he is young and resilient will help him heal from the emotional and physical trauma.

It appears revenge rather than escape is uppermost in Carlos’ mind. Let’s hope his anvil falls quickly.

Is this it for Padilla? Did I imagine it or was there a little bit of a spark between he and Viviana?

Here’s hoping Carolina is exonerated first thing so we can have time for a wedding and other deserving HEA’s.

I'm leaving to attend a town clean up so just a few notes. Artida isn't ratting Celeste out because she thinks she saved her life from the crazy backstabbing prisoner.

The guys on the motorcycle delivered the hearse. One drove it to Carlos while the other followed on the moti. I was surprised Carlos didn't give them his car keys. I'm also confused how Sara got to the cabin. Who drove her.

Viviana found out Padilla was going to Panama with his ill gotten gains, so she told the judge his name and that he was a blackmailer or something. What is it called when you demand money for information?

Kat, thank you for your comments. I appreciate your explaining Aritida is keeping quiet because Celeste saved her from being shanked. I should have realized that but there was something happening every minute last night and it was a lot to process.

I appreciate your explaining the guys on the motorcycles role. Yes, I have no idea either how Sara got to the cabin.

So Padilla was stupid enough to tell Viviana where he was going! I would call his demand for money for information more in the blackmail category than extortion but both would work.

I believe you were the one who speculated that Carlos might be Moises' father (which definitely has merit). One of the things I was wondering in the middle of the night was if Carlos' picture has been circulated to the public? If it has been Erika must surely have seen it, right? If not, there is still a possibilty that might be revealed tonight.

Thanks Kat, I enjoyed your recap! It’s so obvious that Lomeli was the Luciano that was in on the events 18 years ago. I hope Aitana realizes it too! Just him saying he knows he’s seen her before would be a clue!

Micaela is not my favorite character. She’s rude to the other’s employees. I’m surprised she lets Mateo spend so much time, and do so much, for Ximena. I’m really surprised someone who seems to know so much about the family doesn’t realize how crazy he is. I’m really worried Mateo will decide to get rid of Zacarías the way he seems to get rid of people and pets.

I’m rooting for Juanjo! So much nicer than Inigo.

I didn’t realize Belinda suspects Larissa. It would be great if she could discover the truth for her dad. I had to laugh when I read your comment about the phone call. I also thought she had hung up. He’s hoping she destroyed the computer. That seems like something he should have done before he left! I’m enjoying this show more than I thought I would!

Liz and Susan, I also am enjoying this show. I like that it's on early. I can watch live if I'm not busy and recap by the time Monteverde comes on. Usually I wait til 9 though so I can ff through the commercials.

Susan, perhaps the Castillo family knows about what happened 18 years ago, though Clem seems hazy on details. So that is why they are not to be fired.

Lomeli is Luciano the cousin's last name, so that is how I am differentiating between the 2. It helped that Iñigo called him that when he greeted him.

I think there is a bit of aristocratic hierarchy going on in the household. Miceala appears to be Eloisa's personal maid, and from my regency romance reading, they conveys a higher ranking amid the servants. You also saw it in Downton Abbey. So that is why she lords it over Clem. She doesn't think Mateo should be involved with Ximena, but since she is her goddaughter, she also may be quietly in favor of the relationship.

Diana, I don't think they have plastered Carlos face out there yet, which I thought was a big mistake when oscar showed Andres poster. I thought for sure they would also show, "likely has been abducted by his father and Sara, then show those faces. I noticed Erika was conspicuous by her absence last night. Hopefully Carlos gets caught, Padilla gets stopped and of course everyone lives HEA. I was afraid when Luisa keeled over that maybe things were worse for her. But they don't go that route often this late in a TN.
 

I'm not sure where to post this since you guys took down the table of the 'Best Telenovelas' that was on the sidebar for quite some time. Why was it taken down? If it was because it was outdated, why not just ask the creator to update it?

1. Montecristo - TV Azteca versión. Awesome - I watched it mostly on Dailymotion but a few episodes were dubbed in English or just a couple were missing. So I used an App I have (HD Novelas) that has loads of Mexican and Latina telenovelas.

In spite of Artida telling Celeste she put the noose on her own neck and threatening to out her unless she works for her, Celeste jumps in and stops another inmate from attacking her with the screw driver. Celeste lies to the guard and says she had an accident. Artida is more than happy to tell the guard that the inmate was going to kill her.

We never hear the amount of the fortune that Padilla is requesting for he USB.
Carolina tells Oscar it is too much. He sees it differently and is willing to pay for the evidence to prove her innocence. She is grateful but is sorry her sister has to go though all this. She wants the lawyer to get her sister's approval before they accept the offer.

When Carlos asks Andrés for his cooperation, he tells his father that he does't care about him. He only wants to get out of the country. He suggests that he turn himself in. Carlos doesn't know what is wrong with his son. They are leaving tomorrow early. Andrés asks Sara to talk his father into letting him stay. He promises not to report him. Sara says his father is trying to do the best for him. The boys answers is the best is for him to be with his mother.

Sara tells Carlos that she understands that he has to leave the country but since Andrés is so affected by all of this, why doesn't he let him stay . . . with Oscar. From what she has seen Oscar isn't a bad man and he really cares for Andrés.That goes over like a lead balloon. He has no idea how she would come up with an idea like that. Carolina doesn't deserve to see her son again in her life and he is going to make sure she doesn't. That is how he will pay her back for everything she has done to him. Sara tells him to think of his son. He shouldn't have to pay for what happened between him and Carolina. Revenge is not a good thing. He doesn't want to hear any speeches about "values" from her. She knows what Carolina did to him. He is affected by how his son feels but he has to remain firm! He only wants his son's well-being.

Aide tells Carolina not to worry about Artide spilling the beans on her because she saved her life. Carolina prays for God's protection.

In his video, Oscar identifies Andrés as the son of the woman he loves. The good father cannot believe what he is hearing!

The good father tells Hugo that they know that Andrés is still in the area. Hugo is going to join everyone in Zacatillo.

Artide tells Celeste that she owes her one after last night and that her secret is safe with her. She adds that if she can help her out with anything, to just let her know.

Carlos informs Sara that he has a new vehicle that will not raise any suspicions and she is going to be the driver. The police are not looking for her. She isn;' so sure about that. She is sure that in Monteverde they have realized she was involved in his son's disappearance. He agrees but her beautiful face hasn't been on national broadcast as his has. Once they are away from this damned town, he will compensate her for everything she has done for him. He doesn't want her to think that he is using her. He loves her would like nothing better than to start a new life with her and Andrés in Bermuda.

Oscar tells Carolina that he feels like today is the day they will find Andrés.

The men fro Monteverde and Carolina organize themselves into three search groups.

Carlos is happy with his new vehicle:, a hearse, convinced that nobody will pay them any attention. The hearse delivery man takes his payment and tells him the tank is full. Carlos asks if there are a lot of police on their route. The man says he saw various roadblocks but he has no idea what is up. Andrés doesn't want to go sit in the back of the hearse because that is where the dead travel.
Carlos will sit back there with him.

Sara tells Carlos that the road has been clear of police so far. He knew he picked the right route.! She adds that there are no roadblocks. Carlos advises her that if they come upon a roadblock, they will not stop! He thinks of himself as a genius. Andrés continually complains in the back with Carlos as he makes him get down low so as to not be seen.

Carolina thinks that maybe they should stop and ask some people if they have seen Andrés. Oscar says no because Carlos has to take one of the streets to get to where he is going. That is when Sara driving the hearse is sighted and the chase is on.

Padilla tells the lawyer he is going to Panamá. He has family there.

Andrés asks what is going to happen to Sara. Carolina explains that she committed a crime and is going to pay for it. He asks to say goodbye to her. He knows that she was in cahoots with his dad but in the end she helped him.
She knew that she and Oscar were right behind them, so she didn't go on as Carlos ordered her to do. She stopped thr vehicle and let him out. Carlina allows him to talk to Sara. He thanks her for saving him. Sara apologizes to him. She admits to being stupid. She let herself get duped by is father. She swears that she never wanted to hurt him. The police lead her away.

The police official tells Oscar they will be out looking to arrest Carlos.

The doctor tells Rosalía and company that she is gong to run a few scans to make sure that Lucía's condition wasn't caused by cancer that has metastisized. It turns out Lucía has not been receiving enough nutrition with her not eating a lot and throwing up so much. The doctor tells them that they need to keep an eye on Lucía's nutrition. The chemo has reduced her appetite so they need to insist that she eat several times a day even if it just small portions each time. Franco will take charge of that. She will prescribe another medication for the nausea. Lucía is being discharged.

Carlos calls a guy named Luis. He told him earlier he might need his services. He is off to where Luis is.

The lawyer is seeing a police official. She has information about a man who has a charge filed against him for trespassing. He is fleeing the country today and is planning on traveling to Panamá. His name s Dante Padilla.

Oscar tells the crowd that Carlos is still on the loose.

The good father is offering a mass in gratitude for the return of Andrés that very afternoon. Afterwards, Manuel is inviting them all for some celebratory beer drinking at his restaurant.

Rosalía offers to bring Lucía some broth that she quickly refuses. Franco reminds her about what the doctor said. Rosalía wonders if she really wants to faint again. Lucía gives in. Lucía tells Franco that she realizes the long road she has ahead with her treatment and it is only going to get worse. Franco says if he could take all the suffering and pain away from her , he would but he can't. She has to be strong and when she is recuperated from this, all it will be nothing but a bad memory.

Carolina tells Oscar she wants to head back to Mexico City that very day so she can change places with Celeste. (REALLY?) Oscar strongly disagrees. Carolina is at her wit's end on what to do to help Celeste. He ends up telling hr to do whatever she wants but he is gong with her. She thinks it is better he stay at the ranch with Carlos still on the loose. He finally agrees to her going alone as long as she is in constant communication with him.

It is time for the mass. Oscar will take Carolina to the bus station afterwards.

Sara was clearly arguing with Carlos on Andres' behalf but I hadn't realized "Sara tells Carlos that she understands that he has to leave the country but since Andrés is so affected by all of this, why doesn't he let him stay . . . with Oscar..." was so important. Sara seemed to be a strong woman yet she believed Carlos' lies which reinforced her will to help him. It was clear though that Andres' reaction to his father; rejection, fear and dread, made her realize he should not stay with Carlos. Too little, too late. I'm sure she will have plenty time to rue what she's done as she sits in jail.

Perhaps Padilla shouldn't have been so callous and cocky. Him telling Viviana where he was going was a boisterous, rookie mistake he'll soon be regretting!

"He agrees but her beautiful face hasn't been on national broadcast as his has". I am anxious to learn if Carlos is indeed Moises' father as Kat has suggested. If she has seen it, it obviously meant nothing. I'm thinking she may not have though. We will have to wait and see.

I hope Lucia turns out to be all right. I understand she has been through much but am still concerned...

So many loose ends to tie up including whether or not we will ever see Nestor or Eva again and whether Juan David will win the election...

I am surprised that the doctor hasn't referred Lucía to a psychologist or better yet a support group. Lucía is scared plain and simple and nobody seems to recognize it. Her friends and family can only do so much never having been in her situation. She needs them but also something different.

Yes, Sara was too little too late but at least she came around and I was happy that Andrés was capable of seeing all of the nuance in the situation.

I do not like Carlos out on the streets with a gun and Carolina heading back to Mexico City for no good reason.

There will be plenty to comment on when this is over. I have been working on a list. 🤔
