Golden Boy – Yali Capkini – Poder y traicion
Episode 16 #1 of 10
“The Wrong Celebration” – “La celebracion equivocada”

Pelin, all dressed up, opens her door to find a very subdued Ferit. He asks her what’s going on. Is she going somewhere? Has she been somewhere? She says she has been at home.
He strides into the apartment and asks if she has been lying to him.
Pelin: Ferit, it’s not what it looks like.
Ferit: You lied to me. What are you wearing?
There’s a noise from the bathroom and Ferit goes there: Who’s there? (He hits the door with his hand) You lied to my face, Pelin. Open the door!
Finally, the door opens and out comes Pelin’s cousin, Burak, in a bathrobe and very sweaty or perhaps freshly bathed. Later they are sitting and talking. [I notice the little astronaut that Ferit had in his room before Seyran moved in. I wonder if it’s the same one, purchased to make him feel at home there, or if she rescued the original one.]
Burak comes back out, dressed. He brings drinks for Pelin and Ferit. Ferit apologizes again.
Burak says it’s OK: Our family can’t ever say anything, but when you do, her world stops.
Pelin: Don’t be overly dramatic, Burak.
Burak: Is it a lie?
Pelin: It’s late, and you came from so far. Go to sleep. Ferit and I need to talk. Go to sleep.
Burak: I come all the way from Izmir, and she sends me to bed.
Ferit: You’re right. I’ll plan a fun night for us.
Burak: It’s a deal. OK, I’m going to bed.
Ferit: I was such a jerk to him.
Pelin: Seriously?
Ferit: What’d you expect? This was your fault. You had no reason to lie. You could have told me he was visiting.
Pelin: I don’t know. You were so upset. I didn’t want to tell you Burak was here and we were going out.
Ferit: So, you did it for me?
Pelin: OK. I’m sorry I lied. But you were in the wrong too.
Ferit: What did I do?
Pelin: You barged into my house late at night. You thought I was cheating on you.
Ferit: You’re right. I’m sorry. My head started spinning the moment I suspected something. I’m sorry.
Pelin: Didn’t you have any work?
Ferit: Yes, I’ll do it once I’m back. Why was Burak wearing my robe? Stop laughing. You’ll have to get me a new one.
Pelin: Sure, I will. But, since it’s past midnight, …
Ferit: What now?
Pelin: I’ll be right back.
She brings a black box and asks what the date is. He doesn’t get it. She tells him it’s their anniversary.
Ferit: You don’t say! I’m just kidding. I already knew.
She gives him the box and tells him to open it. It’s a necklace with their initials. He giggles at the gift. She asks him: What?
Ferit: What is this? He tells her he likes the necklace, but the letters are odd. He tells her that she knows jewelry, and this is what she picked? He continues to laugh.

Episode 16 #2 of 10
Ferit: I’m just kidding. Your initials are engraved in my heart. OK?
Pelin: You’re so annoying. So, what did you get me?
He tells her it’s a surprise. She tells him she knows what it is.
Ferit: Let’s make a deal. I’ll take you somewhere nice for dinner. Would you like that? Just the two of us. No one else.
She agrees.
Then you won’t need to get my anything. That’s enough.
Ferit: You like it? But you still owe me a new bathrobe.
Pelin: OK. I’ll get you one.

Back at the yali
Latif to Halis: The staff is making breakfast. I’ll go check, if that’s OK.
Halis: First, did you do what I asked?
Latif: I spoke to Ibrahim and he got everyone ready at night. They’ll follow him.
Halis: You should have told them to guard the door. You can’t leave him alone.
Latif: Don’t worry, sir. I personally told everyone.
Halis: Don’t lose sight of Seyran either. They’re both still young.
Latif: Don’t worry, It’s OK.
Halis: Go check on Ferit now. He was supposed to bring me a sketch this morning, but he didn’t. Did we wake up earlier today?
Latif: He has work too. I’ll wake him.

In the morning, we see Ferit holding Pelin on her couch, spoon style. He lifts his head and looks around. Then he wonders what time it is. He tells her to get up so he can stand up. He is upset they fell asleep and his left hand is numb or in pain.
Ferit: My arm’s numb! (He’s very agitated.) Where is my phone? My grandfather was expecting a sketch. How will I get in the house?
Pelin: You’ll be fine.

In the attic, we see sketching materials on the bed. Seyran is sound asleep on her couch. She slowly responds to the phone ringing. She sees it’s from Ferit and looks over at the drawing supplies on the bed.
Seyran: Hello.
Ferit: Seyran, I’m not home. I’m on my way back. Cover for me until I’m back.
Seyran: What? Where are you?
Ferit: I’m on my way. No one can know.
Seyran: Oh, Ferit. Fine, hurry up.
Ferit starts to jog.
There is a knock on the attic door.
Latfi: Ms. Seyran? It’s Latif.
She gets out of the couch bed: One moment.
Seyran: Yes?
Latif: I’m looking for Ferit.
Seyran: He’s in the bathroom. Is it urgent? Do I ask him to come?
Latif: No, I thought he was asleep. Mr. Halis asked for a sketch last night. He wants the young Ferit to show it to him.
Seyran: OK, I’ll tell him once he’s out.
Latif thanks her and she says he’s welcome.
She shuts the door and immediately looks over at the sketching materials. Ferit has sketched just a bit of a piece of a ring.
Seyran starts to remember something, and we hear some of the piano music from the wonderful soundtrack to this dizi as she starts sketching.

Episode 16 #3 of 10

Downstairs, Abidin is racing to get dressed. He gets a call from Ferit.
He answers: Good morning, how are you?
Ferit: Abidin, listen, I went out last night. I need to sneak back in. My grandfather is waiting for me. What are we going to do? [Abidin is probably thinking what is this “we” about!] Pick me up.
Abidin: Don’t be silly. Latif warned the guards outside as well. They’ll tell him immediately if they see me leave.
Ferit asks the taxi driver to go faster and gives him more money.
Ferit: I made it out last night, but now I can’t get in. What do we do?
Abidin: We’ll find a way.
Ferit: How?
Abidin: Hold on, I’m thinking. Does Seyran know?
Ferit: She knows and is going to cover for me. We’re almost there. Please hurry up.
Abidin: OK. Get out of the taxi as close to the yali as possible. I’ll fix this.
Ferit asks the driver to go even faster.
In the attic, Seyran is finishing up the drawing of a beautiful green ring. She is careful and erases and makes changes to make it more perfect.
There is a knock at the door. Abidin tells her it’s him. She lets him in.
Seyran: Where is Ferit?
Abidin: In a taxi. He’s almost here.
Seyran: What about Latif?
Abidin: I know about him. The only way is through the front door. But we’re not sneaking in. If they catch us, we’re doomed.
Seyran: How is he going to do it?
Abidin: He can’t come in alone. But we can make something up with you.
Seyran: How am I going to get out?
Abidin: I’ve got it covered. But we need someone else.
Seyran: What does that mean?
Abidin: We need help.
Seyran: Who do we ask?
Abidin: I honestly don’t know.
She is trying to think of who might help.
Seyran: Sultan! She will help us.
Abidin is unconvinced.
Seyran: She warned Ferit he was being watched.
Abidin: OK, let’s go.
Latif is outside the door and asks for Ferit.
Abidin rushes to hide in the bathroom. Seyran tells him to turn on the water.
Seyran answers the door.
Latif: Ms. Seyran, Mr. Halis is expecting Ferit.
She tells him he’s in the shower.
Latif: It’s getting late.
Seyran tells him she can tell him. Maybe he will come out if she does.
Latif: That’s not what I meant. Tell him to hurry up.
Seyran agrees to tell him right away.
She gets Abidin. They worry about getting caught.
She remembers to take her sketch and puts on a jacket. They head down the stairs. The coast looks clear, so Abidin tells Seyran to come down.
Sultan comes out of a room with towels. Abidin calls her to him. He tells her he needs her help, but just then Ifakat looks out at them. Ifakat asks Sultan what she is doing and then asks Abidin. He tells her he is looking for Ferit. He needs to go to work and his phone is muted. Sultan is listening carefully.

Episode 16 #4 of 10
Ifakat asks Sultan to bring her some tea before breakfast. Sultan says of course. Ifakat says she will be waiting.
Abidin: We need your help.
Sultan: Who is we? Who else? Seyran peeks around the door and Sultan rolls her eyes.
Abidin: I’ll explain.
Abidin is now outside asking if Ferit is there yet. Ferit says he is outside the gate.
Abidin says they are there but are trying not to be seen together.
Ferit: Hurry up, Abidin. My grandfather will kill me.
Abidin: I’m coming Ferit.
He runs toward the automobiles.
Sultan is coming down the stairs to the foyer. She nods to Seyran, who also comes down.
Sultan looks in the next room and tells Seyran she needs to do it now. Seyran makes a thankful gesture and heads out the door by the pool. Abidin heads to the SUV. He drives around, and Seyran makes her way around the pool to where Abidin has the SUV, and she gets in and lies down in the back. Abidin slowly drives by, and is seen by the guard, Mustafa, who places an immediate call. Abidin tells Seyran she can get up. There’s no one around.
Latif calls Abidin: Yes, Mr. Latif?
Latif: Where are you going?
Abidin: I’m headed to the bread store.
Latif: Who gave you permission?
Abidin: Ms. Seyran told me she wanted simit for breakfast.
He drives up where Ferit is waiting for him. He talks to Abidin through the window: I’m guessing you have a plan, right? The conspirators grin at him.
Meanwhile, Sultan brings some cake to Mustafa, to distract him as the couple enters the gate. He is grateful and she talks with him for a while. Then up walk Ferit and Seyran holding hands. They tell him to enjoy the cake! Ferit: Good to see you woke up, Mustafa!
Mustafa asks Sultan: When did they leave?
Sultan: How would I know. You didn’t see them?
Mustafa: No.
She teases him about sleeping on the job. He says he never would. Sultan then asks who he is calling. He tells her Latif wants to know every time Ferit leaves and comes back. It’s an order. Sultan asks if he is really such an idiot. You didn’t see him leave, but you’ll tell him when he came back? What will you tell him if he asks how he got out?
Mustafa: But,
Sultan: Stay out of trouble. The husband and wife came back from a walk. If Ferit found out, you’d be in trouble. I say this for your own good, (she reaches out and touches his shoulder). But if you’d rather call him…
Mustafa says she’s right and she walks back to the house.
Latif is trying once again to get Ferit to answer when he knocks on the attic door. There is no answer from either Ferit or Seyran. Latif opens the door and sees that no one is there.
Latif runs down the stairs and runs into Seyran.
Latif: Where’s your husband?
Ferit comes in and asks what Latif needs.
Latif: I’m sorry. I’ve been looking for you everywhere.
Ferit: I was with my grandfather.
Latif: I’m sorry. I misunderstood. (He bids them goodbye and goes back into Halis’ room.)
Ferit: What other hidden talents do you have? That was a beautiful sketch. You’re sketching everything from now on.
Seyran: Sure.
She heads up the stairs and he smiles at her: Seyran, thank you.
She smiles back at him, and he runs up the stairs after her.

Episode 16 #5 of 10

At the Sanli home.
Kazim to Hattuc: Really? Congratulations. I hope you like your new storage cupboard. (He gives her a key so she can lock it, just like in Antep.)
Hattuc: Kazim! It looks like we’re settling into this house. I don’t want to live here. Why don’t you understand me?
Kazim makes a face: I do understand. I just have something in mind. I don’t want to leave my girls on the wrong path. Leave it to me. Be careful, aunt. They eat everything like a starving mouse.
Hattuc: The food here’s nothing compared to the food in Antep.
Kazim: Stop talking now.
He gives her a wad of bills and tells her to buy what she needs: Have Suna write the list. Do you hear me? (This last to Suna)
Suna nods her head that she understands.
He tells her to give her aunt the receipt. He tells her he will check it. Then he calls Esme.
He tells Esme to set the table. He’s so hungry he could eat a horse. Esme agrees. Hattuc reminds her about her coffee.
Kazim’s phone rings and it’s Orhan. He tells Hattuc: He’s like the doctor for my sickness.
He answers the phone.
Orhan invites them out this evening. Kazim pretends to have other plans that he cancels to please the Korhans. After they hang up, he winks at Hattuc because he has gotten what he wants.

At Necip’s workshop.
Ferit walks in. Ferit comments that he was there early, and Necip says something about how would you know. He says he had work to do.
Ferit hands him the drawing that Seyran finished for him: My grandfather asked me to do this. He looked at it and asked me to bring it to you.
Necip tells him to be seated: I’ll ask you this once, and I want the truth. Did you do this, or did you ask for help?
Ferit: I did it. I stayed up to finish it.
Necip: You talk too much. (He looks at the drawing for a long time.) Interesting. I would’ve thought somebody else did it. They used number 1 pencils. A complete opposite, like day and night. (We are shown Ferit and Seyran’s faces, complete opposites.)
Necip continues: Like fire and water (we see their faces again). Mankind is missing its puzzle pieces. Everyone one of us is missing a piece. Somebody else has it. Our life goal is to find that missing piece. And do it not through disarray, but harmony.
Ferit: Does that mean you liked it?
Necip: Don’t be arrogant. I see chaos and unresolved feelings. It’s missing its harmony.
Ferit: What do you mean? Explain it to me.
Necip: You know how to tire out an old man. Your heart’s tangled up. Fix it. Think about it. Don’t make me spell it out for you. This sketch has missing pieces.
Ferit: This one? (Necip gives him a long look.) Yes, OK. I’ll go back to my desk.
Necip is still looking at it long after they are done talking.

We see Suna scurrying along toward her building with packages, and it starts to rain. She enters the elevator only to find Yusuf!
Suna: What are you doing here? I don’t want to see you. I told you to stay away. How’d you find me?
Yusuf: I’ll do what I have in mind.
Suna: Whatever you say.
Yusuf: I’m not doing well. I need to talk to you.
Suna: About what? Stay away from us.
Yusuf: I can’t stand seeing Seyran like that, Suna.

Episode 16 #6 of 10
Suna: You say it like you still mean something to her. You’re her past, Yusuf. Was the fist fight not enough for you?
Yusuf: Seyran told you? She told you I was in a fight?
Suna: Please. Is that relevant?
Yusuf: I’m not doing well, Suna. I’m miserable here. I begged her to run away with me. What else can I do?
Suna: Don’t you understand there’s nothing for you to do, you idiot. You’re trying to be a hero after complicating everything.
Yusuf: Her life’s going to fall apart. Don’t you see he’s keeping her prisoner?
Suna: Yusuf, look at me. Would you make Seyran happy? I asked you to stop chasing after her. Please leave. It’s what’s best for everyone.
Yusuf, broken record: I’m not leaving without Seyran. I love her and I know she loves me.
Suna: You’re acting crazy.
Yusuf: The Korhan family made me crazy. Seyran’s the only one who can extinguish this fire. I don’t care about anything else. You can tell her that.
He walks off.
Once inside, Suna calls Seyran about this.
Seyran: What are you saying? I can’t take this anymore. I’m exhausted. I wish I’d go crazy and not have to deal with this.
Suna: You’ve got two men fighting over you and you’re angry? What more do you want? Fate gives to those who don’t want it instead of those who wait.
Seyran: I’m not in the mood for jokes.
Suna: I thought maybe it’d make you laugh.
Seyran: Laugh at this?
Suna: Yes. Didn’t we use to do this all the time? How else will we move forward.
There’s a knock at the door and Seyran tells Suna they can talk later. Suna’s last words: Yusuf is all bark, no talk.
Seyran finds Asuman at the door, asking if she’s free. Seyran invites her in.
Asuman asks how Seyran is doing. Seyran says she is still adjusting. Asuman asks if she heard the news. Seyran says she hasn’t heard.
Asuman: You’re going to dinner with your dad and sister. My father planned it. Both our families together. But I won’t be able to make it. I came to apologize.
Seyran: There’s no need to apologize.
Asuman: Ifakat will keep me company. Fuat hasn’t met your family. He should go with you.
Seyran: I was just talking with my sister and she didn’t mention it.
Asuman: Hmm, well they just settled on the restaurant. Maybe she didn’t know.

At the Sanli home
Kazim: What did you do, Auntie?
Hattuc: I bought some clothes. They’re ironing them.
Kazim: Great, I hope you like them. We have to look fancy. This is Istanbul, Auntie. You know what they say. There’s only one Istanbul.
Hattuc: Istanbul! Nothing good about it.
Esme brings a tray to them: Enjoy!
Hattuc asks if he’s bringing “her” as well, meaning Esme.
He makes the no symbol with his lips: No. I couldn’t bear to hold her hand. She doesn’t have good taste. Besides, you’re not coming, either. You might need her.
Hattuc: What will you say if they ask?
Kazim: That she’s sick. I’ll make something up. I have important things to talk about. She’d only get in my way. (Even Hattuc rolls her eyes here.)

Episode 16 #7 of 10
Esme asks if they need anything else. (She is so used to be treated like dirt that she barely seems to notice these insulting remarks.)
Kazim: Iron our clothes today. All day. Understood? And send Suna here.
Esme goes off to get Suna.
Kazim: Did you stock the refrigerator?
Hattuc: I did.
He shushes her and asks in a whisper if she did the other thing.
Hattuc: I also did that. Don’t worry. [I have no idea what this refers to. Maybe in a future episode?] Kazim tells her to be careful.
Suna, ironing: Seyran, can you believe this? This is my first time going to a restaurant!
Seyran: Who cares? Dad will be there too.
Suna: So what? This is the start of something great.
Seyran: Don’t get your hopes up.
Suna: Don’t crush mine. I’m not eating at huge tables like, you, honey.
Esme enters the room: Suna? Your father is calling you.
Suna: Seyran, I have to go. Dad’s calling me. I’ll call you back. Love you, bye.

At the Sanli home, we see Kazim looking out the window holding his prayer beads. He’s lost in thought.
Suna comes down the stairs: You asked for me, Father?
Kazim: Yes, come closer. Listen. You won’t talk unless spoken to, OK? You’ll lower your head, but not too much. Don’t be shy. Your hands go on your knees. If you want to laugh, laugh on the inside. Don’t show your teeth. Look at me. You can only smile a little bit. That’s all. Understood?
Suna: Yes, Father.
Kazim: Good. (He finishes his coffee.) They say the real flavor of the food is at the bottom of the pot. The same goes for this coffee. (He starts sucking his fingers, funny after coaching her on good manners.) Hattuc looks amused.
He tells Suna to leave. He adds that she should put a little makeup on or she’ll look like a zombie standing next to him.

At the Korhan yali
Abidin drives the SUV into the compound. He opens the door for Ferit.
Latif calls to Ferit: You’re going out to dinner with Seyran’s family. Tonight. Mr. Orhan asked me to tell you.
Ferit: What about my grandfather?
Latif: Mr. Halis, Ms. Ifakat and Ms. Asuman will stay home. You’ll go to the new restaurant in Etiler. Your father says it’s a formal dress code.
Ferit: To meet Kazim. (This amuses Ferit.) That means it will be fun.
Up in the attic, Seyran walks out dressed in a short dress with tall boots, very stylish. Ferit looks at her and asks if she is ready.
Seyran: Was I supposed to wait for you?
Ferit: Excuse me, your helping me doesn’t erase what you did.
She tells him she is trying on clothes that Gulgun bought for her.
Seyran: I thought I’d get ready early.
Ferit: That looks beautiful on you.
She mocks him saying this. She tells him she didn’t ask and goes to find something else to wear.
Ferit: Listen, everything that happened, yesterday and today, don’t mention to my parents. I’m careful around your family. I expect the same from you.
She nods in agreement.
She goes to change and he tells her to be sure to wear it again sometime. (Gulgun apparently knows what her son likes!)

Episode 16 #8 of 10
Ferit goes out on his balcony to make a call to Pelin. He tells her they can’t do dinner anymore that evening: My father planned a dinner with Seyran’s family and I have to go. I don’t know how long it’ll take.
Pelin: Are you kidding me? You forgot your present, by the way. What’s this dinner for? It came out of nowhere.
Ferit: I don’t know, Pelin. I’ll find out once I’m there. You’ll never guess where we’re going.
When Pelin hears where, she is really upset: No! Are you kidding? You’re going with Seyran?
Ferit: I wish it was just her. It’s Seyran and her lovely family. I really don’t want to go, but what can I do about it? I promise I’ll make it up to you. I need to get ready. Take care of my present. Love you, Bye.
Pelin has a sad look that slowly becomes more mischievous.

Ferit is checking his reflection in the mirror. Seyran comes out in an elegant pantsuit with her hair done up. She asks how he likes it. He tells her he liked the other one better. She tells him she shouldn’t have asked him. He tells her she still looks beautiful.
Ferit: Let’s go, I don’t want to be late again.
Seyran’s phone rings. She stares at it.
Ferit: Let’s go, Seyran. Did something happen?
Seyran: My mother can’t make it. (More like Kazim decided she wasn’t going.)

The Sanlis arrive at the new restaurant. The hostess welcomes Kazim by name and tells them Orhan’s family is expecting him. He asks the hostess if she is from Antep. (He can’t understand how she knows his name!) She tells him no and shows him the way. He is still confused: Everyone knows me in Antep. How’d she know my name? Unbelievable.
He tells Suna not to cause any problems like last time. Watch her manners. Don’t talk too much, but don’t be too quiet. Got it?
Suna: Yes.
He makes comments about the décor, lots of 50’s cars and other memorabilia. He spots Orhan. They greet one another. Gulgun is greeted and then Orhan introduces Fuat.
Kazim: Hi son. He’s the oldest, huh?
Then he greets Ferit. Gulgun goes over to Suna and greets her very nicely. She asks about Esme and hopes she feel better. Suna tells her thank you and that she is resting.
Gulgun gives her a warm hug and kisses on both cheeks.
They all go to sit down. Fuat greets Suna and asks how she is. She tells him fine, thank you. He leans in and tells her that she isn’t trembling this time.
Seyran doesn’t miss this as she watches them.
The sisters talk together. Suna asks if things are better between Seyran and Ferit.
Kazim tells Orhan he did a great job. They are now a tight-knit family. Gulgun tells him he has diamonds for daughters.
Kazim: Raising children isn’t easy at my age. You can’t throw money at them; you have to get involved. They’ll learn from both wealth and poverty. I’m very lucky to have my son and daughters with me today.
Fuat can’t take his eyes off Suna, who is overwhelmed at this trendy restaurant, Suna who’s never eaten in a restaurant. Fuat asks Suna how she is doing. Kazim signals her to answer.
Suna: I don’t do much. I’m usually home.
Fuat: You just moved to the city. What would you do back in Antep? Did you work? Go to school?
Suna: No, I stayed home as well.
Seyran says she is going to the restroom and Suna joins her. In his element, Kazim lifts his glass (like a big spender) to the female singer on the stage who smiles back at him.

Episode 16 #9 of 10
In the restaurant restroom
Suna: Did something happen with Ferit?
Seyran: No, like I said, I just feel guilty about everything.
Suna: You feel guilty, so you told a small lie. But Ferit’s always lying. I wish he hasn’t beat up Yusuf. But how can you feel guilty about it?
Seyran: Do you think Yusuf will try anything else?
Suna: I can’t be sure. He followed me the other day. He’s blinded by rage. He’s convinced you love each other, and you haven’t forgotten him. He said a lot of nonsense.
Seyran: He’s crazy. I don’t know what to do. Carry around a sign that says, “I don’t love you?”
Suna: I’ll try to stop him but stay home in the meantime. Don’t go anywhere. Wait until this blows over. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Seyran: I don’t understand why Ferit made this such a big deal. I’ll handle this as soon as I can understand it. We should go back.
Suna: Are you really that naïve?
Seyran: No.
Suna: I think you are, sis. He beat up Yusuf. He asked for your hand after seeing you in Antep. Why do you think?
Seyran: Because he’s an idiot.
Suna: An idiot who loves you. But he doesn’t know it yet. Don’t you see it, Seyran?
Seyran: Right, he’s so in love. As if he knew what love is! If he did, he wouldn’t put Pelin through all of this. I feel sorry for the poor girl.
They leave the restroom.
Then we see Pelin come out of one of the stalls, having heard all of this. She looks very unhappy and wets her face and neck to help her feel better.

Back at the table, Kazim tells Orhan: I hope you’re not upset about the other day.
Orhan: What?
Kazim: You know, the noise from the other day when they called you from the lobby.
Orhan says not to mention it: I’m glad it was sorted out. I’m sure it won’t happen again.
Kazim: Oh, yes, of course not. I’ve fixed it. I had to get it into their heads. Who do they think they are? They can’t call you again.
Fuat stands up as the sisters return and helps Suna get seated. She is very aware of Fuat’s arms on her chair.
Kazim continues: Those men play dirty, don’t you think, Gulgun? My past self would have overreacted. But they were right. The house is legally yours. They were right to call you. (Kazim is trying to get legal ownership here, IMO. For all his faults, he is very adept at such “negotiations.”)
Orhan: Of course, it happened so fast, we couldn’t act properly. I’ll get it sorted out, don’t worry.
(Kazim shakes out his napkin, something that he probably wouldn’t have wanted Suna to do after all his guidance on table manners.)

Episode 16 #10 of 10
Fuat gets a call: Oh, no.
Orhan: What’s wrong?
Fuat: Philippe. Paris.
Gulgun: Answer, son.
Fuat: I will. It’s just that his English isn’t very good (both the Spanish and English cc’s say “English” rather than “Turkish”). Fuat continues: And my French is very poor. We can never understand each other.
Gulgun: Tell your assistant to call him. What was her name?
Fuat: Betul. She quit last week.
Orhan: This isn’t the time.
Fuat: I’ll talk to him later.
Pelin comes trudging out. She walks up to the table: Good evening. Enjoy your meal.
Ferit is startled. Seyran is surprised when she recognizes her.
Ferit: Pelin.
Pelin: What’s wrong, Ferit? Hello Ms. Gulgun.
Gulgun stands up, always the lady: Dear Pelin, how are you?
Pelin says she is fine.
Gulgun: Orhan, this is Omer’s daughter. [I thought this was interesting. Apparently, the identity of Ferit’s girlfriend wasn’t widely known in the family, or this was a big act.]
Orhan: Really? How are you?
Pelin: Hello, sir. I was having dinner with some friends and wanted to say hello when I saw you.
Ferit is watching Seyran closely.
Seyran and Suna exchange looks, Seyran nodding that Pelin is who Suna thinks she is.
Orhan: How is your father doing?
Pelin: He’s abroad with my mother. They’ll be back next week.
Orhan: Send them both my love.
Gulgun: Dear Seyran, Pelin is Ferit’s friend from high school. (Ferit grins at this and Seyran nods.) She’s like a sister to Ferit. Seyran is our daughter-in-law. She is Ferit’s wife. (Now Pelin starts to look uncomfortable.)
Pelin walks to Seyran and holds her hand out to shake Seyran’s: How are you?
Seyran doesn’t take the hand: We’ve already met. I’ve seen you before.
Gulgun’s mouth drops open!
Pelin, startled, says she doesn’t want to interrupt them anymore and goes to leave: Have a good night.

Lobo
Episode 14 part 1
March 9, 2026

At the top of the episode, Antonia was uncomfortable with the kisd from Lobo. She left.

Back at the station, Anta asked Dante why he was in a photo (Lobo showed her) with El Azufrero. Cruz overheard. He told A that it was a photo from an old case in which Dante was undercover. Cruz told Anta that Lobo was an informer for Azufrero.

Cruz found about Fer's house on the south side of the city. He sent Cócula and Cripta to check it out. Santi was still at that house and he was captured by C & C. They called Lobo and said they will exchange Santi for Renata. Lobo called Antonia and asked her to help him rescue Santi. In the meantime, Cócula had called Dante for assistance. So Lobo, Anta and Dante will all show up at the house. Will Dante find out that Anta and Libo are possibly working together?

Antonia arrives at the house with a swat team. We don't see Lobo. She and team storm the house and rescue Santi. Dante then shows up, so he basically shows up during a police action. Normal. Antonia takes Santi to the station for questioning. (I don't remember what happened to C & C. They must have escaped.) Lobo is then shown slouched down in a car nearby, observing. He leaves before anyone sees him.

Lobo
Episode 14, part 2

At the police station, Antonia questions Santi. She asks him to tell her where Lobo and Renata are or she will charge Santi with aiding the supposed kidnapping of Renata. Lobo and Fer get an internet influencer to highlight Santi's innocence to pressure Fiscal Cruz into letting him go

Earlier, Lobo showed Renata the video from her parents that says Lobo is to take Ren to the border, find Too Raul, and that her eyes are key to finding something.

Graciela's attorney shows up at her house and says her company needs money. Gracie asks Azufrero for a loan. He agrees in exchange for the land she will receive when the estate is settled. She wants to show the paperwork to her lawyer. Azu pressures her to just sign the papers now. He dumps a lot of cash on the table and she signs.

Lobo
Episode 14, part 3

Elsewhere, Ignacio Cruz starts his drug selling business. The bar owner doesn't like it, and warns him. Ig decides to continue, but be more subtle.

Dante feels rejected by Antonia, and says to himself that no one rejects Dante. Dante continues vto rub his eyebrows in a weird way when he is perturbed.

Adela stops by the police station to see Anta and becomes more friendly with the junior detective whose name I don't remember.

I believe Santi is still at the police station and not released yet. Antonia gets a call from the medical center that her father is suffering from stress and could die at any time. I'm not sure if this is the same doctor that Dante is paying off. The episode ends.

Thanks, Anastasia. I especially appreciated the bar talk. I have a hard time understanding when there's not much light and music in the background. I gathered that Cruz's bad seed son is playing with fire. That madam looks like she could chew him up and spit him out.

Sigh. Antonia is a broken record. No matter who she talks with she keeps insisting that Renata be turned over to her for protection. She puts on the appearance of being a smart cookie, but she can't seem to recognize the sewer she works within. And, even after everything Santiago said to her about Lobo, she was still insisting the child would be safer with her. She'd be able to protect her for about 5 minutes until Cruz/Dante/El Az yanked the kid away.

Yep, the eye thing is baffling. We got to hear Miranda and Gustavo once again mentioning that what's in Renata's eyes will give her the fortune. I understand they wanted to provide for her. But, did they take her to an ophthalmologist and have some code put in her eyes. I could not conceive of doing something like that to my child.

Graciela just sunk herself. El Az will want the whole De la Colina pie.

Instead of confronting Dante about the video of him with El Az, Antonia should have investigated further. Without Cruz overhearing, I suspect Dante would have babbled something that made him look guilty. And he's now saying he'll have Antonio por las buenas or por las malas. He's planning to rape a subordinate who carries a gun?

Babachita, I watched #17 tonight, but it's now very late. I was at the gym, came home and made dinner and then watched Golden #17 and then Lobo. I can put up some sort of recap tomorrow. There's always this time difference to consider. And I sleep late since I retired.

golden

Babachita, you got it all. Ferit just blithely accepted the gift of Seyran's drawing. Gulgun is a real sweetie, but she spoiled this kid rotten.

Does Kazim have even the slightest idea of how obvious he seems to the Korhans? Where did he get all that self-esteem and complete lack of self-awareness? I had to hold myself back from throwing the remote at the screen when he ragged on about how much the girls eat. The most Hattuc ever does is roll her eyes. She never calls him on his treatment of his children.

I can see I'd last about 30 minutes in a family like the Korhans. I almost get hives just listening to the control they exert over the younger members. Abidin being asked who gave him permission to go leave to buy bagels?

Novelera, since we do our summaries over two days, the next one is Tues-Wed. If you can do something for #17 by, say, noon-ish Wednesday, that works. You’re in CA, I think, so even more reason not to try to publish it tonight.

Dondi and I agreed we’d stick with our schedule as best we can. If we can’t do one on schedule, we’ll just pause and do it when we can. The schedule is flexible since we aren’t trying to keep up with the broadcast schedule.

Today is very busy for me, so if you do 17, it would be great. I’ll take #18, to be posted Wed evening to Thursday noon-ish.

I hope Dondi is ok! We will just chug along as best we can.

Your comments show that you are reacting to the controlling of Kazim and Halis like I am. It’s amazing to me that the social structure enables this. Fear keeps everyone in line. The importance of position and wealth drives so much. Intricate scheming is necessary to advance. I’m fascinated and repulsed by Kazim. Maybe he doesn’t care what they think of him as long as he gains position or power. He must be scheming all the time, always looking for ways to gain advantage.

I thought the speech by jeweler Necip about finding your opposite to complete your puzzle was lovely. This may indicate where this dizi is headed. It will be a long time before Ferit and Seyran complete their puzzle. I liked the idea of not looking for someone like you but for someone who complements you, who provides the missing piece.

Dondi has said the sisters have PTSD. I want to see them flourish after their dismal abusive upbringing! I want them to have real joy. Suna had never been to a restaurant! Good grief!!!

Anastasia: Thank you very much for the recap of last night's episode. My personal thoughts (it'll be super-short).

*Antonia is very STUPID! For someone working in law enforcement, she's becoming more irritating.

*Novelera: Gut feeling Scumbag Dante is paying off the doctor. Just saying!

*Bad Seed Cruz is bound to escalate & cause deadly ramifications, which means more deaths & increasing the Body Count.

*I'm also intrigued to know the name of Junior Detective.

*The Award for Incompetent Law Enforcement Officer goes to Antonia.

*Buji Gracelia is bitting off more than she can chew. BIGLY Messing Around & Find Out!

I think the thing with Renata's eyes could be as simple as her parents setting up some lock with Renata's irises for facial/iris recognition. They could have done it when she was younger or made a game out of it, so she doesn't remember.

All is well and I’m back, thanks.

#16 Thank you, Babachita. Your recaps are wonderful. Great to have you as a recap partner. If someone will take #17, I can continue with #18.

MRD incorporated a quite a bit of improvisation into Ferit. In this case waking up with the numb arm. So, it was a ha, ha moment when it was scripted that Ferit “improvised” the fainting to test Seyran. Weekly viewers would comment on the probable improvs.

Why would Ferit take Pelin out for an anniversary dinner? Isn’t he afraid to be spotted with her? Potential scandal. Then the dope tells her where they are going for the family dinner—the same place he was going to take her. Neyse…

“Suna: An idiot who loves you. But he doesn’t know it yet. Don’t you see it, Seyran?” As the Turks say, aynen öyle.

“Gulgun: Orhan, this is Omer’s daughter. [I thought this was interesting. Apparently, the identity of Ferit’s girlfriend wasn’t widely known in the family, or this was a big act.] It was an act. Gulgun and Orhan know about Pelin.

I hope Juanita is okay. Did you finally get in touch with her, novelera?

#17 Part 1 of 2 Seated at the restaurant table are Gulgun, Orhan, Fuat, Ferit, Seyran, Suna and Kazim. Fuat gets a call from a Frenchman named Philippe. Fuat mentions to the family that his French speaking assistant just quit. Gah! Pelin walks up wishing everyone buen provecho. Ferit looks shocked and unhappy, and he gives Seyran a worried look. Gulgun is either covering up for Ferit or does think that Pelin is just a friend from high school. Seyran doesn’t shake her hand, saying she already met her.

Kazim urges Suna to speak French with Philippe. We get a flashback to a cruel French teacher, doubtless part of Kazim’s plan to produce cultured daughters for their marrying into wealth. Kazim tells the girls they can ask to go to the bathroom or for food in French or do without. At the dinner table we can see more signs of the PTSD. Seyran calms Suna. She translates that Philippe wanted to back out of an agreed upon price for something.

Ferit follows Pelin to the restrooms. Seyran has left the table with Suna and tells her who Pelin is. Pelin kisses Ferit as the Şanlı sisters approach. Seyran attacks verbally on the basis of disrespect to her family. Pelin wonders if Seyran really thinks she’s married and calls her a hick. Suna’s face turns to stone. Suna puts on her big sis panties and orders Seyran and Ferit back to the table. Suna then follows Pelin into the Ladies and grabs her by the jaw. Suna says she’s not kind like Seyran. She threatens to beat Pelin so badly that her papí would have to pay for plastic surgery if she speaks ill of or hurts Seyran.

Ferit tells Seyran that it’s risky returning to the table looking angry.

Kazim makes his move. He tells Orhan that the house is beautiful, but his wife and auntie haven’t adjusted to it. It’s just a cage compared to their mansion in Antep. Good for Gulgun. She senses what he’s up to and asks if this means they’re going back home. He says something about finding another place and paying the difference. Orhan eases out of this by indicating they’ll talk about it at another time.

Fuat and Suna are away from the table speaking with Philippe. We see major attraction between them. Fuat suggests her spending a few days working with him on this. Then Fuat cleverly gets Kazim to agree to their working together. Kazim puts on his fake family man act, saying they’re all family.

They are in separate cars and returning from the restaurant. Abidin overhears Kazim compliment Suna briefly and then go on to cruelly remind her about the spilled coffee. Kazim asks Abi to stop at a gas station and goes inside. Abi asks if she’d like something from the store. She declines. But then she goes on to say that he’s the third person to show any concern about her, after her mother and sister. She says that she doesn’t want to leave Istanbul. Abidin agrees, but phrases it as being good for Seyran.

Halis wants to see the family when they return. He asks Ferit to come closer. It’s time for a commercial so Viewerville can wonder if Ferit will be raked over the coals. Ferit looks apprehensive. Halis says he heard from Necip. Necip loved Ferit’s sketch and wants to proceed with creating it. [All along I’ve wondered how Necip makes jewelry with one arm.] Ferit is delighted and turns to look at Seyran. She winks at him. Halis embraces Ferit. And we see Fuat not looking best pleased with the praise of his younger brother.

golden

#17 Part 2 of 2 Seyran looked gorgeous with her hair up and styled and also with some makeup. When they return to their room, Seyran wants to have that talk he promised her. She asks how he dared bring Pelin to a family dinner. And she even came to their table. Shameless! He says he wants to thank her. [for finishing the design Halis praised? For keeping her cool about Pelin?] He says he didn’t invite Pelin and that it was their anniversary. Seyran teases him about someone actually putting up with him for a whole year.

He asks why she’s upset. You made a huge scene when you found me with Yusuf, but you feel free to do whatever you like. His reply is that he’s been honest from the beginning. Seyran: Oh, this is about honesty? That’s right. You got it! She reminds him that she worked hard finishing his sketch. He says that he already thanked her. Seyran basically says what’s sauce for the goose… If I can’t see Yusuf, then you can’t see Pelin, right? That’s the deal. Starting to look miffed he asks if she’s joking. You wanted honesty. Here it is. Every time you meet with Pelin, I’ll meet with Yusuf. He mulls this a bit and then asks if she’s getting jealous. Her reply is we’ll see who gets jealous first. He laughs a bit, saying she’s behaving like a wife.

Gulgun wonders why Orhan isn’t pleased about the praise for Ferit. He tells her that Kazim got under his skin, saying he’d pay the difference. Orhan says he won’t act until he talks with Ifakat. [!!] But why? Orhan says that if Halis found out, he’d give in. Then there’d be no end to the demands. Ifakat can prevent that. Gulgun asks if he’ll ever stop going to Ifakat with his problems. [How much does she know?] He replies that what else can he do. Kazim wants a mansion. We see what I thought might be a special knock on Ifakat’s door.

Yusuf sees on his phone that the test scores have been published. [I presume the ones for getting into college, like SAT scores.] He calls Seyran, who doesn’t pick up. He leaves a voice mail.

Ferit has gone for a run. Abi now calls him Mr. Ferit, as he’s been ordered to do. Abi tells Ferit about the test scores. The ever-lurking Ifakat pigeonholes Ferit before he can get to tell Seyran. In brief, it’s the infuriating insistence that Seyran does not attend college. The gist is that she’ll get too big for her britches. Good for Ferit. He accuses Ifakat of fomenting trouble with the woman SHE insisted he marry. Her reply is that she chose Suna. He again stands up for Seyran. She keeps it up. He’s the only one who can give Halis a great grandchild. [What is behind Ifakat insisting on the production of kids?]

Ferit tells Seyran about the test scores being out. She has a problem with her phone and is grumpy when he offers to look them up on his laptop. Looking at her phone he actually pushes the button to hear Yusuf’s voice mails. He agrees to give up Pelin and accepts her deal. [As Seyran predicted, they did find out who got jealous first.] OK, done!

At breakfast Orhan and Gulgun congratulate Seyran on her high scores. Halis and Ifakat exchange a look. Oh boy. Ferit sucks up big time. We know you want a great grandchild. We also want a baby, and it would be hard to study while expecting a child. We agree that our priority would be growing our family. Seyran could take the tests again later. Halis is happy with this and praises the two of them. Ifakat has a goodly amount of canary feathers around her mouth. Seyran replies that the subject makes her uncomfortable. Everyone at the table seems to know what just happened. Victory for Ifakat.

Yusuf comes again to the gate of the yalı.

Howdy from the Alamo City CarayCaray Family. Here's my personal thoughts of last night's episode.

*Slippery Cruz keeps resisting his wife's kisses & arousals. Hmmm: wondering what is Cruz hiding ?

*Eduardo Yanez is doing an amazing job portraying one of the most despicable characters.

*Scumbag Dante seems hell-bent on taking down Lobo & killing him.

*Antonia's incompetence: Fast Forward. I like Fatima Molina, but her character is irritating.

*Feel bad for Renata. Poor girl cannot catch a break.

*Need to see more details on the backstory of Little Miss Cruz.

Lobo
Ep 15
March 10, 2026

Quick summary
Renata suggested that she and Lobo release her parents' video with a message from her on social media to get people to understand that she wasn't kidnapped. That Lobo was her parents' choice to care for her. (Unfortunately, her parents' video does not mention Lobo by name, IIRC.)

Cruz is furious because this released video makes Cruz look bad for calling Lobo a dangerous criminal. Cruz decides to release his own video that the Renata and De la Colina video is fake. Mrs Cruz decides they should hire a spin doctor to help. (TA with Steve that Cruz should "service" Mrs Cruz for all the help and love she gives him.) The spin doctor thinks a fresh face should relay the DA's message that the video is manipulated. So they pick Antonia to deliver it. They dress her up in a suit and she steps in front of the press pool. Antonia starts out telling the media that the video could possibly be manipulated. Then, she says to the assembled press that there is no proof that Lobo killed Mr. and Mrs. De la Colina. And there is no proof that Lobo kidnapped Renata, rather than being tasked by her parents to care for her. We assume those two statements were not in agreement with the script Antonia was given. The episode ends there, so we don't see Cruz' and Dante's reactions.

Earlier, Ignacio (Nacho) Cruz is stopped from selling drugs at the bar by the bar owner's henchman. He tells Nacho that he knows that Nacho is DA Cruz' s son. Hench confiscates the drugs and says it's the fee. If you don't pay I will tell the world that the DA's son sells drugs, ruining the DA"s career. So Nacho leaves. Problem is that Nacho still owes his own dealer for the drugs.

Golden Boy – Yali Capkini – Poder y traicion
Episode 18 #1 of 9
“My only Dream” – Mi unico sueno

(In the yali dining room)
Seyran just got her scores for the university exams. They are very high.
Gulgun: I knew you’d get good scores!
Orhan: Congratulations my child.
Seyran thanks them and is grinning. Gulgun asks if she was expecting those scores. Seyran admits they are higher than she was expecting.
Halis has been watching all this and asks Ferit if he’s OK with it. Ferit says he doesn’t think this is the right place to discuss this. Seyran’s smile is starting to fade. Halis tells him to say what he thinks.
Ferit: We all know you want a great-grandchild. (Seyran is looking at him with alarm now.) Frankly, we also want a baby. It’d be hard for her to go to school while she’s pregnant. She can retake the test whenever. This isn’t the right time. We both agree that our priority is to grow our family.
Asuman and Fuat look very serious and Halis is thinking about what he is seeing and hearing. Ifakat is almost grinning. Ferit’s parents looks very serious. Seyran is looking down unhappily.
Halis: Well done. Your mind’s in the right place. Good job, Seyran daughter. You’re this home’s bride. A bride’s school is her home. She’ll learn everything she needs here. School’s an extra. You can always go back to school. Thank you for not letting me down.
Ferit is basking in his grandfather’s approval while watching Seyran with concern.
Halis: Seyran, daughter? Are you not going to say anything?
Seyran: Mr. Halis, I’m sorry. Unlike Ferit, I’m not comfortable talking about this.
Halis: It’s OK. I understand. Let’s all finish our breakfast.
Ifakat’s glee is obvious as she smiles with a smirk.

Outside, Yusuf drives up in a taxi. His fists are still clenched as he approaches the gate.
In the kitchen, Sefika asks Sultan if breakfast is over. Sultan tells her it is and that she has some gossip. Sefika has made some sage tea for them to enjoy.
Sultan: It’s such a shame. It’s really sad. At first, they started bragging. They said Seyran scored highly on her college admissions test. Then, they changed the subject and said she couldn’t continue her education.
Sefika: Why not?
Sultan: Because they want a baby.
Sefika: That’s good news.
Sultan: Sefika, this isn’t a good thing. Besides, they said it in front of Ms. Asuman. It’s unfortunate. I can’t deal with a baby. Who will have to take care of it? I can’t handle another baby. I haven’t even raised my own kid.
Sefika: Stop complaining, Sultan. I’m not your therapist. Say nice things. Cheer people up! Be more optimistic.
Sultan tosses her head and gets up: It’s my fault for telling you. I’m never telling you anything again. (Sultan leaves.)
Sefika tells her as she leaves: Sultan, drink your tea. (To herself) She’s such a pain.

Upstairs in the attic, Seyran is pacing fast. Her face is a storm cloud.
She turns to Ferit: What did you do? What the hell are you doing? Every time I think you can’t get worse you push the limits.
Ferit: You asked for this, Seyran.
Seyran: What did I ask? All I ever wanted was to go to university. It’s my one dream. Don’t you understand? So, go back downstairs, and fix this situation.

Episode 18 #2 of 9
Ferit: Please calm down. That was the old Seyran’s dream. What else did you dream about at your father’s house? I can promise you things that go beyond your dreams.
Seyran: What things?
Ferit: You can become a lady within this powerful family. Our family, our last name, will be carried on through us!
Seyran kicks a chair: I’ll go crazy! What are you talking about? You’re mistaking me for Pelin. That’s some other girl’s dream, OK? Not mine.
Ferit: You don’t know what you’re saying. How long did you think this game would go on for? Can you go back to your father’s house? No. Can you confront my grandfather? No. You’re a Korhan, Wife. This benefits you. But you still want to go to school and have a job. (In a mocking voice) You want anything else?
Seyran: You have no idea how much I hate you. You disgust me, you idiot.
Ferit: I wish you would have said this at the table. Things would be different then. You now have to give my grandfather a great-grandchild, you hear me? [I’m sure it also needs to be a boy.]
Seyran: I don’t have to do anything. Is that clear? We’ll tell them I can’t have kids. This marriage isn’t even real.
Ferit: Who said this wasn’t a real marriage? Did you forget your signature on the certificate? You’re my wife now. Get it in your head. And we’ll both fulfill our marriage duties. Didn’t we make a deal? (He is grinning at her now.) I’m monogamous now, and you’re my beloved wife. It’s the way things should be. (He is really grinning sarcastically now, pushing her buttons.)
Seyran: I understand now. OK. Then the deal’s off. Do whatever you want, OK? You can see whoever you want. It’s your choice, OK? I promise I won’t tell anyone. And I promise I won’t see anyone you don’t like, OK? I promise, Ferit. Please fix this. Please.
Ferit: What’s wrong Seyran? I thought I was a “disgusting idiot.” You said you hated me. What changed? I was willing to support you until the end. But I can’t let you fool me like this, Seyran. I’m the heir, and I’m the one who lost his freedom. Not to mention I have to put up with your father and aunt. And you dare tell me I can never see Pelin again? Besides, that guy’s still texting you. Is this a joke? You haven’t even blocked him.
There’s a knock on the door. It’s Latif: Mr. Halis is expecting you both in his room.
Farit: OK, we’ll be there.
After he closes the door, Ferit tells her she needs to calm down because Grandfather is waiting.
Seyran: I heard. He’s obviously going to talk about this. Please act like an adult for at least two minutes. Fake it for just two minutes. Listen, I’ll do anything you want, OK?
Ferit: You going to school while pregnant…
Seyran: Do you want me to beg? Is that what you want?
Ferit nods his head and says yes. Seyran tells him she’ll do whatever he wants.
Seyran: Ferit, going to school is my only dream. My only one. Do you understand? Please fix this. I promise everything will be as you wish.
He smiles and tells her: We’ll see. Who knows? Come with me.
Seyran runs and jumps on his back and yells that he needs to fix this. He throws her off and she falls on the floor but gets right up.
They come down the stairs to where Latif is waiting. Ferit knocks on Halis’ door.
Halis is standing with his cane, waiting. He has a very serious countenance.
Ferit, lightly: You called us?
Ferit realizes how serious Halis is and his smile fades. He looks over to the right and sees something that makes him frown. It’s Yusuf!!!
Halis: I have something to ask you. Luckily, Yusuf came to me and told me all the truth. He’s a brave young man.
The look that Ferit gives Yusuf is priceless. He is not happy with this development. Seyran continues to look at the floor.
Ferit: What did he tell you?
Halis: Everything you didn’t.
Yusuf: Me being here led to a misunderstanding. When Suna told me, I wanted Mr. Halis to hear it from me.

Halis: Not many people would have been as brave. Seyran, you didn’t tell me Yusuf was a distant relative.
Yusuf is watching Seyran to see how she will react to this.
Seyran: He’s very distant. That’s why I didn’t tell you.
Ferit now turns to look right at Yusuf, who has a little grin on his face.
Ferit: Hey, what happened to your eyebrow? I’m sorry, Grandfather. I just saw him like that…
Halis: Poor boy. He was attacked by thugs.
Ferit, now smiling: Right. I’m sorry to hear that.
Seyran is looking sideways now: Get better soon.
Yusuf: Thank you. I trusted them, but they turned out to be dangerous.
Halis: Don’t worry. You’re family. It doesn’t matter that we’re distant relatives, from now on, you won’t be alone. (Yusuf now has a grin like the cat that caught the canary!)
Yusuf: Thank you very much, sir. (Halis pats him on the shoulder.)
Halis: Yusuf will work here for some time.
Seyran is truly impactada at this news.
Halis: It was the only way he’d accept staying here. (Now Yusuf is staring over at Seyran with that same grin!) He said it’s not good to gain without pain. [Now I’m laughing out loud!] You’ll stay with the staff and help around the house, until you feel better. [My cynical self is wondering if Halis really bought that story of Yusuf, or is he just playing a long game here? IIRC, Latif already told him that Yusuf was Seyran’s ex. Whatever, it is very humorous!]. We’ll think about what comes next.
Yusuf gives Halis the kiss of respect. Halis tells him Latif should be outside and will fill him in on the rest. Yusuf thanks Halis profusely and goes to leave. Ferit’s face is a thundercloud as they briefly make eye contact. Seyran is still looking down.
Halis: The boy has asked for work before. He wants to go to school and has a mother to care for in his hometown. Why didn’t you tell me any of this?
Ferit: Because we just saw him. Everything happened so fast.
Halis: We must help others. It’s even worse when we don’t offer to help people from our hometown. You may go.
Ferit: We’re sorry, Grandfather.
The two turn and leave. Once outside his door, Ferit walks very quickly. Seyran asks him what he’s doing, where is he going?
Ferit: Don’t you see your boyfriend hasn’t learned his lesson? I have to remind him.
Seyran: He is not my boyfriend, Ferit. He means nothing to me.
Ferit yanks his hand away to go after Yusuf.
Seyran: Ferit, like I said, you should have done this in front of your grandfather. Ferit, everything would come to light. Is that what you want?
Ferit walks upstairs to their room and she follows.
Seyran: Ferit, can you please calm down?
Ferit yells at her: How can I calm down? You caused all of this!
Seyran: This isn’t my fault.
Ferit: You dragged us here, Seyran. Look at the mess you got me in. It’s all your fault.
Seyran: Of course not! Yusuf wouldn’t be in Istanbul if you hadn’t beat him up! I was taking care of this.
Ferit: Taking care of what? Whatever happened was because you thought you could handle it.
Ferit starts to kick the furniture: I’m going crazy. You’re making me lose my mind.
Seyran: Ferit, listen. I’m angry with him, too. I’ll talk to him and handle everything. He’s going to leave this house.
Ferit: What the hell are you talking about? You’re going to talk to him? Are you testing my patience? You want me to lose my mind?
Seyran: What can I do, Ferit? What do you want from me? What else can I do?
Ferit: It would be enough if you stayed still and didn’t do anything! But you can’t even do that. (Seyran stares at him.) I’ll find a way. You stay out of it.

Episode 18 #4 of 9
Ferit starts throwing things into the room. He has an overnight bag: But if I stay in this house, I swear I’ll break your heart. Or that guy’s face.
Seyran: And where are you going?
Ferit: I’m going to calm down.
He throws the bag on a chair and walks to her: If I find out you saw him while I was gone, you can forget about school. I won’t help you. You hear me?
Ferit leaves. Seyran starts crying from frustration.
Ferit comes down the stairs and runs into Gulgun, who wants to talk to him.
He tells her: Not now, Mom.
Gilgun: Ferit! Now! Don’t worry. It will be quick.
He follows her into her room.
Ferit: I’m listening, Mom. Yell at me.
Gulgun: You know what’s going to happen. Are you not ashamed of yourself? This isn’t how I raised you.
Ferit: What else?
Gulgun: I’ve always been on your side, but what you did to Seyran today during breakfast. What do you mean she won’t go to school?
Ferit: You should talk to Seyran about this. I have to go, bye.
Gulgun: Did you argue again? No one bought that stupid lie you made up during breakfast anyway. Whatever Seyran did, it wasn’t enough.
Ferit, spitting out his words: Listen, I thought I was marrying a polite girl. Did we really think she’d just sit in a corner?
Gulgun: Our deal was off the moment you whispered in my ear you wanted Seyran as your wife.
Ferit: Mom, please forget about this whole thing. Grandfather hired someone new. He’s a distant relative of Seryran’s. Please find a way to fire him soon. I’m begging you. I’ll explain everything later.
Gilgun: What does that mean? I don’t understand.
Ferit: You don’t have to understand. All you need to know if that his name’s Yusuf. I don’t want him in this house.
Gulgun: You don’t sound like yourself.
Ferit: I’m not, Mom. I’ve lost my mind!
Gulgun: Are you jealous?
Ferit: Is it not obvious? I am jealous, OK?
Gulgun smiles and starts laughing: I’m glad you are. OK, fine, I get it, don’t worry.
Ferit: Are you serious? You’d do that for me?
Gulgun: Of course.
Ferit: Mama.
Gulgun: You can relax, son. Calm down. She smiles and hugs him; he kisses her.
Gulgun: It’s OK.
Ferit walks out of the room with his bag.
Gulgun to herself: How nice!

Outside, we see Abidin interacting with an Istanbul cat. He’s trying to feed its siblings. Ibo is sitting with him watching this. Ibo spots Latif heading their way, and they jump to attention. Latif is bringing Yusuf, who Abidin has had dealings with already.
Abidin is very upset, and Ibo doesn’t understand why. Abidin tells him it’s nothing.
Latif: Wow, are you having fun (on the job)? Enjoy!
Ibo: Don’t say that. We were just having tea.
Latif: This is Yusuf. He’s from Mr. Halis’ hometown. He just hired him.
Yusuf smiles and shakes Ibo’s hand. Ibo wishes him good luck at work. Yusuf holds his hand out to Abidin. Abidin takes it and tells him “Welcome.” Yusuf doesn’t let go for a second. He has a threatening look on his face.

Latif: Ibo, Yusuf will be staying with Carlos. He’ll be helping you with whatever you need. Latif looks at Abidin: Go to Kazim’s house now. Ms. Suna is on her way here. Ibo, look after Yusuf.
Yusuf: I need to grab my things. May I go?
Latif: You may once we’re done talking. It shouldn’t be long. Abidin, don’t keep them waiting. Go as soon as possible.
Abidin: Of course, Mr. Latif.
All this time, Abidin is staring at Yusuf. Yusuf is staring back at him.
Abidin gets in the car while Latif takes Yusuf to have a chat. Ferit comes out of the yali with his overnight bag. Ferit comes up to the car.
Ferit: Where is that idiot?
Abidin: What’s going on? Why didn’t you answer your phone?
Ferit: Is he inside? I’ll beat him up. I can’t stand him.
Abidin restrains Ferit: Latif and Ibo are with Yusuf. Halis has already hired him. Calm down.
Ferit: How can I calm down? My grandfather took pity on him. I need to work out to avoid losing my mind.
Abidin: You need to calm down.
Ferit tries to break free again: I can’t stand him.
Abidin: Stop, enough!
Ferit: I’ll kill him.
Abidin: Don’t fall into his trap. That’s what he wants. He’s leaving to get his stuff. I’ll come back, corner him, and ask what’s going on. Calm down, OK. Don’t get into trouble. Come on. I’m picking up Suna. I can drop you off as well. Let’s go.
Ferit takes his bag and tells him he will go by himself.
Abidin tells him he can take him.
Ferit, voice raised: No, I said I’d go by myself. Bring me my car.
Abidin: OK, wait here.
Ferit walks with a swagger and is not calm at all yet: I’ll kill you.

At the Sanli home, Suna is in a lovely red dress and putting some color on her cheeks. Her phone rings. She answers and it’s Seyran.
Seyran: Sister.
Suna: Is everything OK?
Seyran: That idiot Yusuf showed up again.
Suna: You’re kidding!
Seyran: I’m not. He came and talked to Mr. Halis. He told him everything was a lie. Did you say something to him?
Suna: I saw him the other day and told him to leave you alone. I told you when we talked, did you forget?
Seyran: Good job. He made up some sob story. He said he was related to us.
Suna: How could he be? Nonsense.
Seyran: Mr. Halis is going to hire him!
Suna: Hire him? Seyran, what is he doing? Dad can’t ever know about this.
Seyran: Like I’m worried about Dad. Yusuf is way too close now. What else is going to happen? Ferit went crazy. He just left the house.
Suna: Seyran, you should worry about Dad. He’s coming with me.
Seyran: You think he’d recognize Yusuf?
Suna: He might. I don’t know. But there’s no way he can find out about this.
Seyran: I’m hanging up. I’m tired.
Suna: OK. We’ll talk when I’m there.
They hang up. Seyran’s face is full of angst.

Episode 18 #6 of 9

(At the Sanli home)
Abidin is parked in front waiting. Eventually Suna comes out of the building’s double doors.
Abidin’s face visibly lifts as he sees her. He opens the car door for her. She tells him her father is also coming: He didn’t like his shirt and went back to change. Can we wait for him?
Abidin: Of course. You can sit down.

At the gym, Ferit is angrily boxing with a trainer. He is counting 1-2-3-4. Then 1-2-3. The trainer finally tells him that’s enough. Ferit is very hostile. The trainer throws him back and tells him he could hurt himself. He says that is all for the day and tells Ferit to go change. Ferit removes the gloves and kicks them. He doesn’t look at all relaxed.
He gets his phone and there is a message from Pelin asking him to meet her and Burak for lunch. He goes to the refreshment stand for some water and a girl asks him how he’s doing. She says she can’t find her telephone. Could he lend his to her to call her phone with? (She looks like a girl who already tried this, but Ferit erased her number.). She tells him she hasn’t seen him there for a while. He tells her he’s been busy. She tells him she decided to join the club. She was going to ask him, but he blocked her number. Ferit tells her that she didn’t get the hint. She tells him it might be because she doesn’t want to.
During this conversation, a tall guy on a treadmill is watching them closely. Ferit tells her that he will remind her again that he is married. Tall guy leaves the treadmill and heads in their direction. Ferit continues, telling her that even if he wasn’t married, he’d never look her way. He asks if she gets it now. He smirks and walks away. Tall guy comes and asks her who she was talking to. She says no one.
Tall guy: What do you mean no one? You were flirting with that guy.
Girl: Calm down. He’s an idiot who was trying to flirt with me. Don’t’ worry about him. I sent him on his way.
Ferit walks out of the club.
He sees a text from Abidin that they are almost home and that Kazim is joining them.
He calls Pelin who says: Don’t tell me you’re not coming. He tells her he is on his way and asks where they are. She tells him at home, she made lunch. He heads over there.

In the yali kitchen, Yusuf and Ibrahim are eating. Sefika asks if he’s ever been to Istanbul before. Yusuf: No, this is my first time.
Sultan: You got lucky. It’s your first visit, and now you live in a yali. How do you know Ms. Seyran?
Yusuf starts to choke: We’re distant relatives. How did you know I know her?
Sultan: I opened the door last time you were here. You asked for Ms. Seyran.
Ibo: Leave the poor kid alone. He’s going to choke. Leave him alone so he can eat.
Sultan: Whatever you did got you hired.
Yusuf: I wish I’d spoken to Mr. Halis sooner.
Sefika: Oh, Halis Aga. He’s tough but has a heart of gold. He won’t fire anyone who talks to him.
Sultan: Sure. But he hired the bride’s relative. What a shame.
Ibo tells her to cool it.
Yusuf: Mr. Halis wanted to help me, since I had nowhere to go. But it will be a short stay, until I find a better place.
Sefika: Sorry, but I need to ask. What happened to you?
Yusuf: I was attacked by thugs.
Sefika: Attacked you?
Yusuf: They took my money.
Sefika: How could they hurt you?
Yusuf: As you can see, I’ll be here for a while. Whatever Mr. Halis asks of me, I’ll do.
Ibo: Are you done? Are you happy now (this to the curious women)?
Sefika: What’s wrong with a little conversation, Ibo?

Latif enters and everyone stands.
Latif: Ibo, Kazim is on his way. Go outside to greet him.
Ibo: Yes sir.
Latif: Yusuf. you’re coming with us. Pay attention to how we greet them. Let’s go.
Ibo: We’ll be there, Mr. Latif.
Yusuf asks Ibo to wait. Ibo asks him if he wants to be fired on his first day. He tells him to follow him.
Outside the yali, everyone is waiting in a line to greet the visitors. Yusuf gives Seyran a side eye glance. She is hyperventilating.

FLASHBACK: Seyran is being dragged by her hair by Kazim. He says: No one can make you (marry Ferit)? Her father drags her and throws her in a stone storage room.

Seyran is very affected by this flashback. Her hands are shaking. Gulgun notices.

FLASHBACK: Kazim says they are not allowed to see their mother. It looks like he has a belt out.

Seyran is shaking. Gulgun and Fuat try to calm her. Yusuf is concerned.

FLASHBACK: Kazim: You’re going to do as I say, you hear me? There are screams from the girls. You’re my daughter and I call the shots! You’ll obey me. I forbid you.

Gulgun is there to catch Seyran when she starts to faint. She says she needs water. Fuat tells Latif to get some water. He tells Yusuf to tell Dicle to bring water. Seyran says she will go inside. She doesn’t feel good. Fuat accompanies her. Ifakat is there at the entrance. She asks Seyran if she is OK. Seyran says she is OK and will feel better once she sits down. Dicle brings her water. Seyran drinks some water.

The car drives up and Kazim struts out. Latif greets him and Kazim, so rude, barely acknowledges this. Suna and Ibo are watching, Suna with a little smile as she watches her father. Suna is also curt to Latif, so perhaps Kazim has instructed her to do this. (Also, Ifakat has told her not to talk to Abidin, because he is beneath her. )
Kazim asks where Seyran is: Did my daughter forget about her father? She’s not greeting us?
Gulgun: Of course she hasn’t. Please don’t worry about it. She felt a little dizzy and went inside to rest.
Suna: What? Is she OK?
Gulgun reassures Suna that she is OK. She suggests they go inside so they can see her. Kazim acts all worried, and walks fast to the door, calling for his daughter. Inside, he sits by her and asks if she is OK. She tells him she is fine. He tells her not to hide this from him. He says his daughters rarely get sick, especially Seyran.
Kazim: She is very resilient.
Ifakat: Relax. As you can see, she’s OK.
Seyran: I said I’m fine.
Gulgun: She doesn’t eat breakfast. It might be that.
Kazim: Wow. I know it’s hard being far from your family. Girls love their parents. (Kazim is ironically stroking her hair, the same hair he grabbed her by in the flashback.) Seyran looks at him sideways.
Gulgun: Seyran, you can go to your room and rest. Suna can go with you.
Seyran agrees.

Episode 18 # 8 of 9

At Pelin’s, Burak is talking to his mother on his phone. They hang up and he tells Pelin they think she and Ferit have broken up and are shocked. Pelin thinks it better if they think that. Burak says it is better than if she were dating a married man. She asks him to leave her alone. Didn’t she tell him that it’s not a real marriage? She says if things had gone as planned, she would be married to Ferit now. Burak reminds her that she’s not and asks her why she is doing this to herself. He tells her she is unhappy. Enough with that. She tells him she would be even unhappier if she didn’t have Ferit. She tells him he has never loved anyone but himself. He tells her that her love for Ferit is sick. He tells her he likes Ferit, that he is a friend. But that they are wrong for one another.
They hear Ferit at the door. She asks him not to say anything. He agrees. She welcomes Ferit, and he gives her a peck on the lips.
Ferit sees the table all set: Ms. Pelin, where did you get all of this?
Pelin: I made it.
Ferit to Burak: Hello buddy. What’s going on around here? You look worried.
Burak says it’s nothing: We had a family thing. You must be hungry.
Ferit: I’m starving.
They go over to the table.
Ferit: Stuffed meatballs.
Pelin: That’s right. I made them myself.
Then she tells Burak that Ferit doesn’t believe her. Burak says he is a witness.

At the yali, Suna and Seyran are in the attic, Suna trying to help Seyran who had a dizzy spell. Suna: You don’t eat breakfast here either? I don’t understand why. You have to take care of yourself. Are you OK?
Seyran jumps up: I’m fine. Nothing’s wrong. I was pretending.
Suna: What? What’s wrong with you? You scared me.
Seyran: What else could I do? I was going crazy. They brought Yusuf to greet you.
Suna: What?
Seyran: I thought I’d go inside in the meantime. I’m glad I came up with something.
Suna: Seyran, Dad can’t find out about this. What do we do? Where is he now?
Seyran: I don’t know.

Downstairs, Kazim asks where Halis is. He says he came to see him.
Ifakat: Latif told him you’re here. He’ll let us know whether he’s available or not.
Kazim: OK.
Gulgun: I’d better call Seyran to see if she’s feeling better.
Suna enters and tells them Seyran is better and is resting.
Fuat rises: Mr. Kazim, we have some urgent emails we need to send out. Could Suna and I head to the library, if it’s OK with you?
Kazim: Go ahead. Suna is here to help you.
Fuat shows Suna to his home office.
Ifakat watches this and smiles.
Kazim watches Suna and Fuat leave.
Latif enters: Mr. Kazim, Mr. Halis is waiting for you in his room.
Kazim: Right, sure. Ifakat, Gulgun, if you’ll excuse me.
After they leave, Gulgun heaves a sigh of relief: What a relief.
Ifakat laughs. Gulgun tells her to stop laughing.
Gulgun: His intentions are clear.
Ifakat: He didn’t want to send his daughter by herself.
Gulgun: Orhan didn’t tell you? About the new house he wants?
Ifakat: Yes, he did. But I haven’t talked to Halis yet.

Back at Pelin’s, Ferit is pushing his food around on his plate.
Pelin: Are you OK, honey?
Ferit: I’m fine. Why?
Pelin: I don’t know. You’re quiet. Is something wrong?
Ferit: No.
Pelin gives a signal and Burak says he will make a phone call and leaves them to talk.
Pelin: Is something going on at home?
Ferit: No. I actually sketched a ring. [Lie #1, Ferit to Pelin] My grandfather and teacher loved it. They’re going to make it.
Pelin: That’s great news.
Ferit: First time something like this happens with Grandfather.
Pelin: Really? Let’s celebrate this accomplishment. So, did something happen with Seyran?
Ferit just stares at her.
Pelion continues: Honey, I know it’s hard, but I have some empathy. She didn’t want this marriage, either. Besides, she was in love with someone else. [Lie #2, Pelin to Ferit]
Ferit: What do you mean?
Pelin: They were talking about a guy named Yusuf.
Ferit: When was this?
Pelin: The night we went out for dinner, the sisters walked into the restroom. I was in a stall and overheard them, but they didn’t see me.
Ferit: What did they say?
Pelin: Seyran said she loves Yusuf, but she will stay away for his own good. And her sister told her to calm down, because she and Ferit wouldn’t last. That Yusuf should be patient. That’s all.
Ferit: Nonsense, Pelin.
Pelin: Honey, how else would I know about Yusuf? Ask Seyran about this. Have her tell you how her sister attacked me.
Ferit: Are you serious?
Pelin: She got angry because I called her a country girl.
Ferit is uncomfortable hearing this: I’m sorry, I’m not in the mood. I’d better go.
Pelin: Burak will get upset. Wait until he comes back.
Ferit: I have to go. I’m tense and don’t want to ruin this for him.
Ferit walks off, with a serious expression on his face. Pelin also looks serious.

Thanks, Anastasia for the well written quickie. You perfectly described Antonia's presser. I'm worried for her, though. Cruz's wrath could be terrible.

I thought the guy from the sketchy club confiscated Ignacio's money, rather than the drugs. This would definitely put him in a bind since he told his buddy that he hadn't paid the seller. I'm remembering that scene where his honest brother (can't remember his name) was forced to back up Iggy's story when they were confronted by their father. Yes, it's very weird Cruz rejects every sexual overture by his attractive wife. And they haven't, as yet, revealed a mistress. They already have a gay couple, positively portrayed. Would they go with Cruz being in the closet? Somehow, I don't think Telemundo would go that far.

El Azufrero has been threatened by the Russian mob to pay up. I don't really remember what he owes them or why. I do remember Cruz being forced to spend time with them and not best pleased about it. It's actually kind of plot overkill that every single baddie needs the money that Miranda and Gustavo put away for their daughter's future.

I am glad Santi got Fer's note and wrote one back.

Again, they just keep dragging out the trip to the border.

Seems like Adela and the honest detective Dante keeps browbeating may be on the road to a relationship.

Thanks so much, Babachita. I had hoped that, by now, there'd be some rapprochement between Ferit and Seyran. Ferit has the approximate maturity of a 13-year-old boy. That vengeful announcing at breakfast that he and Seyran were going to carry on the family line was the worst. And, as has been mentioned, it was very cruel to do so with the recently ovary-less Asuman sitting right there. I must say the way the cameras show the repressed emotions of nearly everyone in the cast is well done.

What in the world is Yusuf thinking? Seyran has told him to his face that they're done. She may also have said that she feels nothing for him now, and I believe that's true.

As I mentioned as an aside in Tuesday's recap, anyone know what drives Ifakat to insist that Seyran get busy and have a kid. She obviously didn't.

Ep 18. Novelera, I’d love to know what makes Ifakat tick. She is probably my least favorite character. I even like Kazim better. She seems to exist to carry out Halis’ desires. I already disliked her when ogling Suna at the pre-engagement hamam. She does seem to get things done but seems to have no friends. I guess Orhan sees her willingly. I’d pick Gulgun any day! She may need to justify her position by seeing that things are done according to the Korhan way. There must be more to her story. Halis wants an heir so she’s going to make it happen. Seyran and Ferit are pretty stubborn. We’ll see what unfolds!

lobo

I'll put up a quickie tonight.

Lobo

Miércoles For some reason Antonia got away with changing the script the PR guy prepared and to cast doubt on Lobo being a murderer and kidnapper. Because Dante has the hots for her, he says that anyone might have been nervous.

Lic. Martínez comes to see Graciela with news about a possible strike at the De la Colina Tequilero. El Az comes out and kills him with one shot.

Lobo has gotten into Dante’s apartment to look for some dirt on him. His housekeeper, Aida, comes in. Dante’s security device alerts him and he calls Aida. Lobo threatens her for Dante’s benefit while also assuring her he won’t harm her. As we might expect, Dante is a crappy employer of domestic help. Aida helps Lobo get away with Dante’s laptop and his other devices have been hacked.

Dante records Lobo’s fake threat on his phone and later plays it for Antonia. Dante comes to his apartment with half the cops in D.F., but the wolf is long gone. Aida is given some cash and a way to reach the guy who was his go-between for the jobs he was doing for all cash. She needs to never come back to Dante’s place.

Leonor is having an affair with the rather youthful PR guy. He seems nuts about her. She owns up she’s not leaving Cruz. Something is said about Cruz being impotent.

Fernando takes Renata to stay with his father for a while. His dad is not happy Fer is gay.

Ignacio Cruz ended up having to give up half of his drug sale money to the madam of the club and her righthand guy.

Lobo goes back to his old warehouse hangout where the chalk mark that was for Berta’s body still remains. He's somehow sending Dante's laptop contents to Fernando.

Hugo the nice cop comes to see his brother, Adrian, who’s in a wheelchair. Hugo insists Adrian continue with his therapy.

Graciela is talking to her phone as if Renata were on the line. She’s sobbing and freaked the hell out. She asks herself what she’s gotten into.

Lobo shows up at Antonia’s with dirt on Dante on a flash drive. Guess it’s what Fernando got from his laptop. There’s a lot of money in accounts, but as usual she doubts him. This is getting old.

We see Dante follow Santi after he talks with his attorney and refuses a ride home. Oh, please, writers, don’t let Dante get his hands on Santi.

"LOBO"
Novelera: Thank you very much for your recap of last night's episode. My personal thoughts on last night's episode (it'll be super-short).

*Dominika Paleta still freaking super HOT! 😗

*Gut feeling Scumbag Dante will get his hands on Santiago.

*Still don't feel anything for Buji Gracelia. She made her bed & now needs to lie inside of it.

*Percentage odds we might see Hugo & Adela together in the end?

*The Cruz family are a bunch of weird freaks.

*Lobo & Antonia kissing LOL.

Lobo

Yep - Lobo and Antonia still have no chemistry. Lobo keeps kissing her out of nowhere. Even early on when Lobo said A was beautiful, it came out of left field. The writers suck? Altho they are doing a nice job with Adela and Hugo. That's how you start a romance - start out joking. I have seen Arap Bethke romantic before. Maybe he doesn't like the Antonia actress.

Antonia has more chemistry with Dante, sorry to say.

Lobo #16

Thanks Novelera for the recap.

Two items:

It occurred to me during the press conference that Antonia was the only one willing to follow the actual facts to wherever they go to find the truth. This is supposed to be the aim of law enforcement. Cruz and Dante, at the beginning of the De la Colina case jumped right into Lobo the guilty rather than the possibility of Lobo the designated caretaker, due to their own biases.

And a plot point - Renata in talking to Fer, says that she doesn't know anything about a Tio Raul. So that answers that question. They surmise that Tio Raul is a code name for something. Altho he could be just a friend of the family.

golden

Thanks for the recaps, novelera and Babachita. Well done.

Ifakat is the de facto lady of the mansion. Halis allowed this and she does his bidding. This power is all she has. She has no husband or children. ITA, she’s extremely unlikeable.

“I had hoped that, by now, there'd be some rapprochement between Ferit and Seyran.” It’s a very slow process. We are starting to see some softening, but there is a lack of trust between them.

“Ferit has the approximate maturity of a 13-year-old boy.” lol. Seyran has two 13-year-old boys fighting over her.

I will post #19 on the new page tonight.
