Notes from the Couch The "Will the Power Go Out Again? " edition
1. Kassandra offers to go talk to Vale in support of Joaquín's decision on not allowing her to race. She wants to get "closer" to the children.
2. Marcos tells Romina he cannot go to dinner because he has too much work at the shop. She accuses him of lying and says that he seems strange. He says he ran into Iván's ex who want s to get back with him but suspects that Iván is interested in another woman. Marcos asks Romina if that might be her.
3. Vero tells Consuelo she is sorry that she had to involve Nayeli.
4. Marcos tells Romina that Iván is crazy about her, salivates over her and she just goes along on her merry way when he asked her to avoid him. She reminds him that they work together. She asks if he doesn't trust her. He say it is not her but if she doesn't put a stop to him, he will. He shows her how he will punch him in the face. She agrees to talk to him. He thanks her and puckers up waiting for a kiss. She kisses him but is not happy.
5. Joaquín and Dani have come up with a new and improved missing person/possible abductee map. Vero also helped her out. Joaquín says she is a great woman. He also tells her that while she is looking for answers in the stars not to forget what and who she has with her everyday like her siblings, family, and people who love her and are with her every day.
6. Kassandra goes to talk to Vale. Vale has no intentions of talking to her about training or boy friends or anything. If her godfather wants some info , he can come and talk to her himelf. By the way, she already has somebody to talk to: VERO!
7. Surprise! Facundo shows up for the family supper at Vero's. Aureliio invited him. He says her father is delighted with him. She asks him for his support which she needs now more than ever. No, it isn't her job. Flores hired her back. It is her family that could come apart at any moment.
Iván comes home to a romantic dinner created for him by Olga. She says it is a thank you dinner. It turns out she took money from his sock drawer to pay for it all. She promises to pay it back. He is less than impressed. She expresses her desire to get back together with him. His head turns so fast when he hears that I thought he was going to snap his neck!

9. Vero complains to Joaquín that now that Diego has calmed down, Vale is the one who is worked up. Joaquín explains that kids are like that. Kassandra thinks that Vero is responsible for Vale's bad attitude. Vale talks abut Vero as if she were her closest friend. Joaquín adds that Vero does nothing but give the kids affection. Any gesture of tenderness does them good after what they have been through. He admits to feeling like a father sometimes and thinking like a father. Kassandra laughs and asks if he is being serious. As a matter of fact, he thinks he would like to be a father.
10. Iván tells Olga it is always about her. She says she wants to go back to being a family. He reminds her that they never were a family They were barely a couple. She blames that on them only being kids themselves. He says the farther away she is the better. She decides there must be another woman.
11. Joaquín says he is surprising himself. Kassandra is finding it hard to believe. She asks if he wants children right now. He says no. He is only sharing what is going through his mind. He asks if having children scares her. She says no. She doesn't want to get her hopes up but she would love it. He thinks that being around four marvelous kids has awakened his desire to be a father one day. She smiles and nods.
12. Facundo tells Vero that in spire of what her sister knows or doesn't know, she cannot forget her objective which is to get her daughter back and for her daughter to understand that she was innocent in her being given up for adoption. Vero thanks him for always being so good talking with her. but sooner or later she will be found out.
13. Aurelio arrives so happy to see Facundo. He is practically a member of the family. Facundo grins.
14. Olga mentions how she ran into Facundo in a bar and how he wouldn't tell him the name of Iván's novia. She only asked if he was with somebody. He tells he to pack up. She is leaving the house tonight.
15. Majo gets on Claudia's case for being rude to customers. Claudia doesn't care. Her period is late! She is scared she could be pregnant.
16. Romina comes into the family dinner complaining to Vero about the bad thing she is doing and how they have to talk. Of course, nosy Aurelio wants to know what the bad thing is that Vero is doing.
17. Iván says by throwing Olga out, he is merely correcting the mistake he made in the first place by allowing her to stay. He gets her outside with her luggage where she continues to complain that he cannot be so mean. He emphasizes that he can and closes the door as she begs to be let back in. He sits on the couch and smiles.

18. Aurelio demands that Vero tell him what bad thing she did. She shuts him down telling him he will not speak like that to her in her own home. . Facundo offers an explanation. Vero was thinking about resigning from the magazine because her boss was putting pressure on her to write an article she didn't agree with. Aurelio doesn't understand how that is related to Romina. Facundo explains that the article is related to the owner of Navarro-Cross where Romina works. .Vero tells Romina she decided to write the article so she could control the content and so Flores could not hurt the family. Suddenly both Aurelio and Romina want her to quit.
19. Joaquín goes to talk to Vale. He hasn't changed his mind and she hasn't changed hers.
20. Dani and Meli want to know what is going on. Joaquín explains it is a disagreement just like the two of them had a couple of days ago. Since they are a family that loves each other, they can talk and wrk things out.
21. Majo gets home and wants to talk to her mother about "womanly" things. Ivàn says Olga isn't home. Majo is aggravated that the one time she needs to talk to her mother, she isn't there.
22. A the snack bar as Marcos nurses a brewski, Lorena tells him how she is worried about Eleazar with Facundo pressuring him. She asks Marcos to talk to ehr son. He says he will.
23. Olga shows up and finds a friendly face in Marcos. She came looking for her daughter but she isn't there. Olga cries onMarcos' shoulder about Iván throwing her out on the street.
24. Romina says Marcos didn't come to dinner because he had work to finish up at the shop. Facundo finds that strange since he is the boss and there really wasn't anything left to do. Nosy Aurelio and Vero ask if Romina is having marital problems. . Romina says no, not at all.They have rough patches like everyone else does. Aurelio thinks the solution is for them to have a child. He wold love to hold a grandchild in his arms. At the rate they are going, Facundo and Vero will beat them to it. Vero cannot take anymore and slams her water glass down. She leaves, needing to breathe.
25. Aurelio follows her out. He doesn't understand why she gets angry over everything he says. She makes it clear it isn't anger but PAIN. She reminds him that he already has a granddaughter. He tells her she has a good man inside and can have all the children she wants with him. He wants her to try to be happy for once in her life. She makes the point that some wounds never heal and bleed forever because they cannot be forgotten. He then reminds her that her little girl is doing well with a family that loves her and with everything they never could have given hie. He warns her not to go near that girl and ruin itaall for her. She say she is not like him. Seeing her daughter is enough for her. He wants her to swear she will never tell the girl she is her mother. She refuses. She asks him not to worry about her happiness because when he tore that baby from her arms, he turned her into the most unfortunate woman in the world. She adds that he shouldn't bother coming back in. Supper is over. She will apologize to Romina for him.

I loved Joaquin's scene with Dani ."he also tells her that while she is looking for answers in the stars not to forget what and who she has with her every day like her siblings family, and people who love her everyday". I felt a bit of a lump in my throat. I felt a bit of a smile and an eye roll at Kassie trying to process Joaquin wanting to be a father. She is hardly the maternal type. 🙄. So Olga just won't take no for an answer. Does Ivan protest too much? I fear Vero is in dangerous territory waiting for things to come crashing down. I loathe Facundo knows (almost) all while Joaquin's almost completely in the dark.

Consuelo says women like her change their boyfriends as frequently as they change their designer handbags while in their world, one cares for what one wants and mends it so it lasts a lifetime. She suggests that he let her go if she won't answer. She asks about dinner at Vero's. He say it went like it always does with an argument. He asks her if she knows what problems Vero and Romina are having. She says she doesn't know that but she does know what he and his daughters need: THE TRUTH! He disagrees. Romina would end up hating him, too. He will never forgive Vero if she poisons Romina against him.

I hated Aurelio having the gaul to not only insist Vero not tell Romina about her daughter but that she not tell Vale she is her mother. He is as much of a villain as Facundo.

OK, how exactly did Franco and Chava end up at Bulldog’s super-secret meeting? Did they get one of those anonymous messages everyone’s always rabbiting off after without a second thought? Or did they wake up thinking, “Today would be a good day to put on a dog mask and get into a Batman fight”?
Seriously, we could use a little more plot exposition and a little less sex ed. I’ve heard all I need to know about a middle-aged lady’s right to get jiggy. Can we talk about beer or something?

Thanks Jarifa, I enjoyed your notes from the couch. I think less and less of Ivan with each episode. He doesn’t fit with the evil guys but he’s not really a good guy. I wonder what Marcos will do to help Olga. And I will say Ivan was right to be mad that she took his money. She owes Joaquin money for bailing her out and should be working and paying that back.
I also wonder why Marcos didn’t go to the family dinner. Is he sick of all the arguing? I would be. And now Facundo will apparently be showing up as he’s practically one of the family. Aurelio can’t really “read a room”. He’s never really seen his daughter show affection or love to Facundo, yet he’s planning their marriage. And he also thinks Isaura is a woman that would be good for him. Also, he’s not helping when he tells Romina he wants to be a grandfather. I’m surprised she doesn’t get more hurt and annoyed at his comments. He dot need Vero to turn Romina against him, he’s doing it on his own!
Kassandra didn’t look thrilled that Joaquin wants to be a father. I can’t picture her being very motherly. And I think Vale’s remark about having Consuelo to talk to did not sit well with her.
Joaquin has stepped into his role as a father figure and is doing such a great job with the kids. I especially like his interactions with the younger girls.

Slinky , sly Grecia looks like she left the genie out of the bottle . Androm seems to terrify her . Then Monique's BadGrampa visits Grecia and she is slicing apples with a huge knife. Then she throws apple slices at him and threatens hin with the knife What a team.

I have lost all hope that Ivan will turn into a better man. He is relentless in his pursuit of Romina. It's getting old. I am amazed that Marcos hasn't beaten him up because it is so obvious that Ivan is not going to give up. I am surprised that nosy, interfering Olga hasn't figured out who Ivan is obsessed with .
Speaking Of Olga, she is,so annoying and weird and relentless , but I was,shocked that Ivan threw her out with no where to go. Where did she go? She was at the cafe , so maybe Lorena took her home with her ..
I wonder What Majo will do when she finds out that Ivan threw her out.

I so agree with you. What I do not get is why Vero continues to put herself through the weekly family supper with her father feeling like she does. She owes him nothing and should tell Romina the truth and let the chips fall where they may. .

Corazon. Rvg chic says there has been some comments on this one but I've been giving the current other 2 shows a pass for the past 2 weeks ( managed a 3 1/2 day getaway to Hilton Head last week with my daughter's family when I didn't get seated for my jury duty obligation ). I could go back through the posts but I'm being lazy. I've saved the show but haven't watched any of it yet as I was waiting to see what the early reviews are to see if it's worth my time.
Tan circa I just can't get into this one. The cast aren't my favorite so I don't feel like spending my time on it. Jarifa is doing a great job on the recaps though.

Had to say goodbye to our old rescue dog yesterday. He was a 12-14 year old golden retriever. We think he had a stroke Sunday. He couldn't stand without toppling over so we made the decision to let him go and not prolong his suffering. My daughter's 14 y.o mutt was put to sleep Saturday, a day after our return from vacation. It was not a good weekend for our old boys.

1. Kassandra is not happy about being rejected noting that it is always the same with him. Children aren't made via telepathy! Joaquín explains that he was talking about being a father in the future, not right now. He is asking her for a little time. She begins to broach the subject of him maybe not wanting a child with her when Meli comes in demanding his attention. Their conversation is put off until later.
2. Vero is telling Facundo that the evening is over. She wants to be alone. She has an article to write for Flores.. He is disappointed wanting to be with her. He asks if the real reason is because of the article. She assures him it is. Being the gentleman he is, he kisses her hand but quickly returns to kiss her on the lips so he can take that kiss with him. He leaves. Vero is not happy.
3. Meli and Joaquín share some tea in the kitchen. She wonders why he is fighting with Vale and concludes that it is because she is in adolescence like Diego, Her parents said that all the time. Her mother said the problem was the "hormos." He suggests the word is hormones. She agrees. She thanks him for the tea and is off to bed as he tells her to sleep with the angels. She gives him a hug and a kiss goodnight.
4. Now at Marcos' and Romina's house, Olga is bending Marcos' ear telling him you don't throw out the mother of your child into the streets of a strange city. Marcos makes it clear that Iván is not his friend and that he doesn't get involved in the life of others. Romina comes in aggravated that Marcos said he couldn't come to the supper because he said he had so much work when he cuts her off. They have company. Olga tells Romina that she has no idea what her friend Iván has done to her. Marcos looks at Romina who is shocked to see Olga there herself.
5. Hugo gets a call. Thinking it is from Vale , he is all smiles. When he sees it is from Nayeli, he lets it go to message. Vale is thinking of him though.
6. Eleazar picks up his trophy and looks at it.
7. Vale looks at Eleazar's photo and seems tormented.

Marcos saw her crying with her suitcase and felt sorry for her. So, he invited her home. Iván offers to come right over and get Olga out of there. Romina thinks it would be better that he avoid see Marcos who is very nervous about everything. They will let Olga stay the night She hangs up on Iván..
9. Inside Iván's mind. He cannot believe that Olga is closer to the woman he loves than he is himself. Fate is so cruel!
10. Vero looks at a photo of Vale that she took from her room. Yes, Vale comes before anything else. She kisses it. Vero tells herself she has to stop thinking of Joaquín. Although she loves him, she cannot have him; not while she is living behind all of her lies.
11. Kassandra is sleeping as Joaquín looks at her from the far side of his side of the bed. He realizes he is hurting Kassandra and she doesn't deserve it. The only thing is that he cannot stop thinking of "Consuelo". He looks at the photo of the kids. If he crosses that line, what will become of them? They have lost so much already. He stares at Kass.
12. Kassandra has an early breakfast with her mother. She informs her that there is no intimacy between her and Joaquín. Isaura blames it on Kassandra's lingering coldness. Kassandra says the absurd part of it all is that now Joaquín's paternal instinct has awakened. He wants a a child so how is that supposed to happen??? Isaura asks if he has a lover. She answers that damn "Consuelo" . Ever since she has come on the scene Joaquín has changed completely. He is not the man she has been in love with for the last three years. Isaura emphasizes that Kassandra has to be the one to give him a child to tie him down so he will not be able to refuse getting married to her. Kassandra never dreamed about being a mother. She saw herself sharing a luxurious existence alone with him. She will do whatever she needs to in order to twist fate. Isaura smiles.

She adds that behind that uncultured appearance, there is a man with a great heart. He laughs and thanks her. Romina comes in. Olga says that she and Marcos have been so loving, they are like her guardian angels. Today she is starting a new life. Marcos and Romina need to get to work. Olga suddenly has an idea.
15. Aurelio brings Consuelo his washed laundry so she can dry it on drying racks for him. (He does heave two hands , right???) He shakes out a shirt and gets them both wet. He says he cannot stop thinking about his daughters. They get silly with the laundry and he takes it home. to dry himself.
16. Hugo calls Vale. to go out for breakfast. She has to go to school. As her friend, he wants to make her happy. She makes it clear that she will not be happy until she is back on the track. He says in just a few months, she will be eighteen and he will train her then. She thinks he is the best.
17.Nayeli see Hugo and runs to kiss him. She notices he isn't into it. He blames not having his morning coffee. She noticed that yesterday, he disappeared and didn't answer his messages. He lies saying he had so much work to do at the shop and didn't finish until very late. She invites him to breakfast and he goes along.

24. Olga is waiting for Iván at work. She is there to ask Kassandra for a job. The best part is that they will be working in the same office together. He is shocked.
25. Eleazar appears with his trophy at the shop. He acknowledges that he won it racing but it belongs to Hugo who covered him at the end. He thanks the whole team for all they do. The trophy belongs to the team so it will be staying in the shop.
