Amar Sin Limites Monday January 7: The Moppet and Clemi change their minds

just to torture us all some more.

We start out in Emilia and GSD’s kitchen with GSD blowing smoke at LF and talking over his son-in-law’s apparent decision to shack up with Silvana with his daughter’s death being so soon. LF concurs that it seems wrong. GSD says that the problem is that Silvana is an old friend of Emilia’s and besides, he loves his grand-daughter Caty.

Diego and Clemi are talking to Gloria at the boutique. (What’s the deal with the giant sunglasses indoors? Was the actress in a fight or something?) Diego and Clemi ask Gloria if she knows where Silvana went. Gloria says how is she going to know, better than Diego who is living with her? Diego explains that they had an argument and she left, he can’t find her anywhere and she isn’t answering her cell phone. Gloria says she doesn’t know but she recalls for them the odd conversation she overheard with Silvana on the phone. She said she heard that Silvana had to go to Guadalajara.

In Guadalajara, Silvana has arrived at the hideaway, with Manuel conked out on the couch. Silvana upbraids him for getting drunk and Manuel claims he only had a few drinks. Manuel denies this and Silvana doesn’t listen. She tells him that he upset Azul, that Azul complained that she didn’t want to be under the same roof with a drunk. Manuel half-heartedly defends himself by saying that she’s getting upset over nothing—he got her here, and that’s all that matters. Silvana complains that his help is very expensive and look at what she has to put up with. He could have ruined the whole plan. Manuel complains that she ruined HIS plans. He had to put up with a call from Diego, “the policeman of the family” who chewed him out for missing his date with Lidia, thanks to Silvana not calling her. So that’s why you felt you could mess up? Asks Silvana. She claims that she did call, but too late. (I don’t remember this so I think it’s another lie, a small one among many many big ones.) She winces and says that she had a lot of problems that held her up. Manuel wants to know what. Silvana admits that Diego kicked her out. The only way to get him now is for her to get pregnant with his child. Manuel says,”That’s not going to be easy if you don’t have a way to sleep with him.” Silvana says something about having a way to get a child of Diego into her womb (I couldn’t follow exactly what she says—could use some help). Manuel follows up by saying, now you’re really complicating things. (Vocab alert: he actually says “Meterse en camisa de once varas.” I have no idea what the origin of that one is—Put oneself in a shirt with eleven wands???) Silvana says she doesn’t know, but she’s willing to risk it all (jugar todo por el todo). Manuel says faking a pregnancy is going to be hard. She’s going to have to have a fake belly for starters. Silvana is starting to get annoyed by his questions but Manuel smiles and says that he is the only one who can solve ALL her problems. Silvana doesn’t get it (BUT WE DO) so Manuel explains to her that he’s willing to impregnate her. And his DNA would be similar to Diego’s so there wouldn’t be any risk of a paternity test showing a bad result. Silvana is not THAT crazy and she gets up angry that he would suggest such a thing. Manuel says he’s just being logical. He thinks that this idea makes more sense than stealing Azul’s baby. (GOT A POINT THERE!) Silvana then launches into a discussion about how she wants to give Diego the baby he always wanted, His and Azul’s baby. The plan is that he is going to take care of Azul, take her to the doctor, and after she gives birth, steal the baby. Manuel doesn’t like this plan. “So you want me to steal my grandchild?” Silvana says “yes, so that it can be brought up in YOUR family.” “You’ll do what I order you to!” Manuel says he’s not the guy to be taking care of prissy little pregnant women like Azul. (prissy=mojigatos? I guess he’s talking about her complaining about his drinking). Manuel tells her to find somebody else to be her servant, somebody who can take the fall when it all comes crashing down. Silvana says that’s what she’s going to do. She’s going to find somebody else who doesn’t get drunk and try to take advantage of Azul. Manuel is offended by this And says he’s the one who is sacrificing himself and for so little money.

Back at the boutique, Clemi, Gloria and Diego are still comparing notes. It’s not possible that she’s working. According to Ceci, Silvana broke her contract with the modeling company and they won’t give her any more work. Diego remarks on how loopy she is, that she’s making all these snap decisions. Gloria says she will try to find her, but what’s the urgency? Clemi tells Diego to fess up—maybe Gloria already knows. Diego says “It seems that Silvana is pregnant with my child.” Gloria gets all excited about being a grandmother. Clemi is like, “Yeah, seems that way.” Gloria says it’ll be great for her to have another child, to recover from what happened with Nico. She’s all excited and happy to be co-abuelas with Clemi. Clemi smiles but we can’t really see her expression behind those GIANT GLASSES.

Back in Guadalajara, Silvana is all hugs and smiles for Azulcena. She cheerfully asks how things are. Azulcena tells her, it’s like she told her before. Her “Uncle Manuel” drinks A LOT. Silvana claims that Manuel is really sorry—“It’s because of problems he has with his daughter.”

Azulcena snaps into psychologist mode and tells her that drinking never solves one’s problems. She tells Silvana that she doesn’t want to stay with him. What would happen if she had a problem with the pregnancy and he’s on another bender? Her pregnancy is the most important thing to her at the moment and she doesn’t want Manuel there. Silvana says that she agrees, and for that reason, she’s going to send “Uncle Manuel” back to Mexico City and bring HER MOTHER back to take care of her. Silvana relates that her mother is a wonderful, lively person and she’ll really like her. Azulcena brightens up at this prospect.

Back at the boutique, Gloria is very lively with the news that she’s going to be a grandmother and she’s sharing the news with Chucho. Julio looks up from what he’s doing and asks acidly “And who is the father?” Gloria says, “Who else, Diego!” Chucho and Gloria return to a celebratory cuddle. She jokes that Chucho would make a great granddad but when she goes out with the grandkid, everybody will assume it’s her child! Chucho chuckles at that one.

Silvana is pacing the living room of the hideway. The cell phone rings. It’s Gloria. Silvana remarks that now more than ever she needs her mom. She picks it up. Gloria excitedly answers the phone “Daughter! I know I am going to be a grandmother!” Silvana acts surprised that she knows and tells her not to tell Diego. Gloria says it’s too late. Diego already knows HE TOLD HER. Gloria asks why she didn’t want him to know. Silvana responds because he doesn’t love her and she won’t force him to have a child with her. Gloria is all sunshine—“Why of course he loves you! Who else does he have now that Azul is dead? He loves YOU! And he’s crazy looking for you everwhere. He was even going to call the modeling agencies in Guadelajara. Imagine that!” Silvana is impactada into the commercial break.

We don’t see what happens next because when we come back, Silvana is in the kitchen with Manuel. Silvana explains to Manuel that he’s going back to Mexico City and she’s going to convince her mom to come out to Guadalajara to take care of Azulcena. Manuel burps after drinking a glass of milk and opines that this is a bad idea. He may drink a little too much but her mom is a complete nut. She’s capable of anything. Silvana thinks that she will work for her best interests, much better than Manuel can. Manuel thinks that the more people know her secrets, the more likely that she’ll lose control of the situation. Silvana says, too late. She’s already decided. She starts rummaging around in the kitchen and says that she’s going to get a urine sample from Azul. She wants to prove to Diego that she’s pregnant.

At the boutique, Diego has gotten off the phone with the modeling agenc(ies) in Guadalajara. They had no plans to contract Silvana. Gloria says that she spoke with Silvana and that she went to Guadalajara to have some medical tests done. She said she would call Diego on his cell. Clemi asks if Silvana wasn’t sure about the pregnancy and that is why is had the tests done. Gloria said she thinks that there is no doubt because she confirmed it to her. Gloria gets all excited again and announces again “Silvana’s going to have your baby, Diego!!” Finally she notices that he isn’t in the partying mood and says that Silvana told her that you don’t want the baby. “That’s not true is it?” Diego looks guilty.

Silvana holds out a jar to Azulcena who says “Another test? Why when LF already did all the tests?” Silvana thinks fast and says that since they didn’t stop to bring the results, it would be better to have something to give the doctor so that he can evaluate it. Azulcena agrees and complies.

Next we are in Emilia and GSD’s apartment again, where Ceci, Arnaldo and GSD are all hanging around Emilia’s bed. Ceci has brought a little gift. She heard that Emilia took a bad turn. Emilia relates that fortunately it was only a scare. But to be on the safe side, she is now on bed rest. The gift Ceci brought is a little ball of yarn and some knitting needles so that she can make the baby something and to pass the time. Emilia repeats that she doesn’t want to do that—maybe later. She’s still afraid of losing the baby. Arnie expresses his feeling that the baby will be born just fine. Ceci chimes in that “there’s another baby on the way” GSD jumps up and starts to suggest that maybe she and Arnie?!! Arnie quickly jumps in to say NO NO NO, Julio already told him that Silvana is pregnant with Diego’s baby. GSD is stricken with this idea and comments that Silvana and Diego’s relationship has moved very fast. Ceci argues that Silvana never gave Diego a chance to wait. Emilia psychologizes that this kind of thing often happens. People try to overcome their grief by making new connections. Arnie suggests that maybe this was planned. Diego wanted a baby. Ceci disagrees. Diego wanted a baby with Azul, not with Silvana.

Night falls and Clemi, Anibal and Lidia are all eating dinner. Lidia relates that Tavo is having money troubles and that they may be postponing the wedding. Anibal says that they shouldn’t do that. He and Clemi can cover anything they can’t. Lidia says, that may not be necessary. She’s got a plan to sell plastic surgery insurance policies to patients at the hospital. Clemi insists that she take Anibal up on his offer. Weddings entail a lot of costs, she adds. Anibal asks where they are going to live. Clemi jumps in again to suggest that they live there. “This is your home!” Lidia says that she thought they were going to live in Tavo’s apartment but now maybe he’s going to have to sell it to pay off his debts. Clemi tells her to consider it and also to have a very modest wedding. Lidia says that is what she’s thinking and she is planning to ask Diego if she can have it in his backyard. Clemi says that they should all go over to see him tomorrow, because today she learned, that he’s going to be a Daddy. Both Anibal and Lidia stare at her.
Silvana is already back from Guadalajara and is at Diego’s. Diego’s not happy. He asks her how she could have hidden such important information from him. Silvana has a home pregnancy test box and she announces that in a minute she will give him proof that she’s pregnant. Diego plops heavily in a chair.

Back to dinner time at Clemi, Anibal and Lidia’s. Clemi reiterates that Silvana told her and Katy obliquely that she was pregnant. Later Diego confirmed it. Anibal asks what Diego will do. Lidia rolls her eyes and says knowing her brother, for sure they will makeup and he’ll marry her.

At Diego’s (which is dark, just like the tone of this show at the moment) Silvana comes out of the bathroom holding the pregnancy test. She says yes, it’s our baby! Diego agrees that he always wanted to be a father. In fact, he’s already feeling the love for the baby. She makes him feel her belly (ICK!) and then he says although he’ll always love his child, he can never be with her.

Back to eating—Clemi says that nobody can know what they are going to do, and she wishes that Diego had handled this better. But she hopes that before anything, they take into account the well-being of HER GRANDCHILD! Anibal says he noticed a twinkle in her eyes. (Awwww!) The doorbell rings and interrupts this happy scene. Is it Tavo? NO! It’s Manuel! Lidia tries to slam the door in his face. He asks her to wait and hear him out. She says she already gave him a chance. She says she knows that he was supposed to take Silvana’s car to the shop and instead he went out on the town. Manuel stops her and says No…wait…I was robbed! He swears it. Lidia is skeptical.

Back at Diego’s, Diego is explaining to Silvana that he’ll support the child, economically and “morally.” The child will lack for nothing. But the one thing that won’t be happening is that they will not be living together. Silvana has been tears rolling down her cheeks and raccoon eyes which look even more dramatic in the semi-darkness. Silvana complains that Diego is hurting her and hurting their baby by talking to her this way. Diego says he wants to do what is right but she complains that what he is doing is not right for her or the baby. Diego tries explaining to her that the child will get all his love, when it’s born and will learn that Mom and Dad just can’t live together. That’s the way it will be because he’s not willing to live a lie. Silvana is angry now. She gets up and says that now she needs to think about what’s best for her and HER child. Diego says wait a minute. Silvana reminds him that he doesn’t want her to stay there. Diego says that’s true but he wants her to keep him informed. Silvana says that he’s not the only one that can issue demands here. She gets up and stalks out. Diego sits down again heavily.

Back to Manuel and Lidia. Apparently he’s building the frijolito story up into a big robbery. But he overdoes it and she figures that to be robbed by a small child he must have been drunk-as—a—skunk. What’s more, she knows he was because she talked to Diego and he told her. And she believes him more than she believes her dear old –NOT Daddy. He tries the “I only had a few drinks” line but she doesn’t buy it. She tells him that she’s had it with him. She doesn’t want him at her wedding at all. Anibal will give her away. She pushes the door shut on him. She staggers back into the room crying where Clemi and Anibal comfort her.

Meanwhile back at his dark mansion (did Diego get so busy looking for Silvana that he forgot to pay the light bill?) Diego goes to Caty’s room to try to explain to her the situation. Caty is all excited about having a little brother or sister (mostly sister) and a real family and starts making plans. Diego explains that it won’t be quite like she imagines, for one thing, little bro or sis will not be living with them. Caty looks puzzled.

Next we are at a bar with Ceci and Mario. Ceci is not happy and Mario asks her why. She explains that she found out that Silvana was pregnant by Diego. Mario says that it doesn’t surprise him since she was chasing him since day 1 of his widower-hood. If she could do that, she’s capable of anything. Ceci says that Diego finally opened his eyes and saw her for the witch she is, they separated but now that there’s a child involved…who knows what will happen. Mario agrees with the standard line about how the child is not to blame for how it got there. Ceci adds that all children deserve a family who love and support them. Ceci says she knows what it is like not to have anyone.

Back to Caty and Diego . Caty is wanting the new baby to live with them. Diego says that yeah that would be nice, but the baby is going to be living with its mommy, Silvana. Caty counters with wishing that her family was like other families, like her friends families. Diego explains to her that there are lot of different kinds of families in the world, ones where the kids live with mom, others where they live with dad. “Like us! “chimes in Caty. Diego finishes up that the only thing that is important in a family is that the members love each other. Caty says that’s why she wants the baby living there with them. Diego says they will still love the baby no matter where it lives. And besides, she told him she didn’t like Silvana. She didn’t want him to marry her. Caty says that she changed her mind. Now she wants Silvana back with the baby so they can all live together like a happy family. She starts whining. Diego relents a bit and says “Well, that decision doesn’t just depend on me.” (Somehow I don’t think convincing Silvana would be a problem.) Caty whines some more and Diego says that sometimes things can’t be the way we want them to be. He gives her a big hug.

Back to Ceci and Mario. Mario has picked up from her line about “being alone” and tells her that she has no reason to feel alone anymore. His feelings for her are very serious and he’d like to know what she thinks about that. Ceci says she doesn’t know, she’s confused and afraid. Mario asks her what he’s done to make her lack confidence in him. She says “it’s not you” and proceeds to tell him that in her previous relationships, she’s wound up being disappointed. When she thought she had found true love, she ended up disillusioned. Mario says he can wait until he wins her over and to punctuate this sentiment he pulls a rose from his inside jacket pocket and hands it to her. She is obviously impressed and sniffs it.

Silvana is pacing around another room (did she get another hotel room?) and there’s a knock at the door. It’s Gloria who cheerfully bursts in prattling on about how she is excited she is about the grandchild. She mentions that now she will have a child to help her move forward from Nico. Silvana tells her to “shut-up” about Nico and not to mention him again. It’s true , she’s had a lot of losses in her life. From now on, she will only be winning. Gloria says she understands that she’s sensitive about the topic but she only wanted to say that sometimes life gives us second chances…like with her…she wants to prove to Silvana that she loves her. Silvana says yes, and she will need her, now that she will be ALONE. They sit on the couch. She tells Gloria that Diego doesn’t want to have anything to do with her. Gloria says that Diego has to take responsibility. Silvana says that Diego doesn’t want the child. Gloria says no way, Diego told him herself that he does. Silvana tells her that Diego doesn’t want her because he’s still in love with Azul. Gloria responds that that can’t be. Diego can’t tie himself down to a ghost. Azul is dead. Silvana gets up from where she is sitting and says "No Mama, Azul is alive.” Gloria is impactada into the commercial.

Gloria can’t believe it. She thinks Silvana is crazy. Then she thinks it’s a bad joke. Silvana assures her it’s no joke. She explains the back story about how Azul was in an accident and has no memory of who she is. Gloria then thinks that that is why Silvana left, so that Diego could be with Azul. Silvana says no way, she took Azul to a house in Guadalajara. Gloria, now completely horrified wants to know what she’s up to. Silvana says that she was just trying to keep Diego from being hurt. Gloria disagrees. “Diego will be the happiest guy in the world if Azul is found.” Silvana doesn’t like the sound of that. She tells her mom that Diego would die of sorrow to know that Azul is in love with another man, pregnant and wants to marry him.

Meanwhile, Diego is talking to Azul’s picture back in his bedroom. He tells her that he doesn’t know what to say. He wishes that he could have her advice. Since she’s been gone he’s been so confused.

At the same time, Azulcena is lying on a couch back at the house in Guadalajara thinking about …a blur…or a guy whose face is a blur…touching her face and comforting her. At first, the blur looks like it will turn into Diego but instead, it turns into Luis Felipe.

Diego is fantasizing too, about cuddling with a pregnant Azul, until he looks up and then she turns into SILVANA!

Silvana is still trying to convince her Mom that she wants Diego to be happy and Azul to be happy with the man she loves. She wants to fight to have the best for her child. Mom points out that all this seems mighty convenient for Silvana’s plans. This is the real world and there are laws here that can’t be broken. Silvana demands to know why nobody can know and everybody can be happy. Her baby and Azul’s can be with its family. Gloria says “You said it yourself, Diego cannot forget Azul. You would be basing your happiness on a lie. The suffering apart, it’s not the right thing to do. And eventually you will pay for it.” Silvana complains that when Diego finds out that Azul is alive he will leave her immediately. “Then what will I do?” She wails. I will be alone, out of a job. Gloria says not to worry. She’s sure Diego will support her and she can count on her help, and on Chucho’s…Silvana interrupts her and says that Diego will not be happy now that Azul is no longer the same. Azul will be unhappy since she’ll be taken away from the man she loves. ...Gloria says that that is for them to decide. Silvana shouts NO! She insists that the child(ren) will suffer who are not to blame for the troubles of their parents. Gloria insists that Azul must remember something. Silvana says that they’ve taken her to various specialists and nothing has worked. Azul is not the same. “The Azul that you know DIED. She’s like another woman and she deserves to be happy, as much as I do.” Silvana changes tack. She says that as her Mom, she should be supporting her in her moment of need. Gloria gets up and says that that is what she is trying to do. She’s trying to convince her NOT TO MAKE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF HER LIFE. Silvana argues that she’s doing the right thing. Mom says no, this is not good. You have to be honest, on the side of the truth, without lies and deceit. “How are you going to look your child in the eye if you are not truthful?” (Actually she says “limpia” or clean but I think this is the sense she meant it in.) Silvana then accuses mom of never doing what she is doing now. Risking everything for him. (She says “el” but I suppose it could be it, standing in for “el bebe.”) “I am going to defend my child with my fingernails and teeth. “My baby will have a family and an emotional life that I never had. “ She reduces Gloria to tears with this and she admits that she was “never a good mother…but..” Silvana interrupts and says “now you are going to be one!” Silvana tells her that she wants her to go to Guadalajara for a few days to take care of Azul. Silvana says that she doesn’t like leaving her there alone. Gloria asks..so why is she alone in Guadalajara if supposedly she has this man who loves her? Silvana tells her that “she wanted to be alone for a few days to think things over and decide what to do.” Gloria says she doesn’t know what to think, she has to take a few days to think about what to do too. Silvana tells her to think of her for once. Gloria hugs Silvana but she’s still horrified by this whole situation. (She may have been a selfish and thoughtless woman but at least she’s not evil or crazy.)

It’s the next morning. Gloria is eating breakfast with Chucho and he can tell something’s wrong. He notes that since she came back from talking to Silvana she’s been quiet and sad. “Did you argue with her again?” he asks. Gloria denies it. But incidentally, an acting opportunity has come up…in Guadalajara! She needs to go there for a few days. Chucho takes her hand and says that they’ve talked about this. She decided to give up acting. Gloria pretends that it’s the opportunity of a lifetime and that she can’t miss it. It will only be for a few days. She wants his support—she doesn’t want to be away from her little cotton head for long.

Over at Casa Diego, Clemi is serving coffee to Diego. Clemi says she couldn’t sleep and decided to come over early before going to the office. Diego says he didn’t get much sleep either, trying to decide what to do. He talked to Caty and all she wanted to talk about was how happy she would be with a new brother or sister. “She even thought that she could get along with Silvana, imagine that.” Clemi thinks it’s great that he talks to his daughter and listens to her. Diego says yes, but in the end, she’s a child and he’s the one who has to make the decision. Clemi agrees. It could happen that once the baby is born, Caty could decide that she doesn’t like them living together. In the end, Diego says children can adapt. Clemi agrees and says the important thing is that they feel secure and loved. Diego says that he can’t do that living with Silvana. He doesn’t love her. And he doesn’t think that he will ever love her.

Gloria is still picking at her food and looking pensive. Chucho gets up and very poetically describes her as a bird that came to him in the twilight of his years. He could never “clip her wings.” Gloria gets up and gives him a kiss. She knew he would understand. Chucho stops her and says that he doesn’t want her to try to fool him. He knows that everything that she has told him is a lie. She protests but he says he doesn’t want to know the reason for her trip. He supports her unconditionally. Gloria’s eyes fill with tears and she thanks him again. He warns her that she think hard before she does whatever it is she is planning to do, because "guilt can make us do things thinking that we can undo the harm we’ve done previously." (Whoa, is Chucho a mind reader, or what?) Gloria smiles and hugs him some more.

Clemi is putting the coffee cups away at Diego’s and she tells him that she does have one thought for him that she’s been burning to say. She asks him that even if this isn’t the way he wanted it to be, he could have a child of his own, under his roof. Diego agrees but he says that neither he nor Caty would be happy with the example of him and Silvana as parents, who don’t love eachother. Clemi starts digging in some more to her theme. She knows that Silvana has made a lot of mistakes “but she’s not a bad woman.” (YES SHE IS! AND YOU SAID AS MUCH TWO DAYS AGO! Who knew that Amnesia was an infectious disease?) “She loves you deeply. And have you thought about what it’s going to be like to be a part-time Dad?” Diego has a guilty expression. Clemi’s stealth assault may have worked.

Lidia and Tavo are back at Casa Clemi-Anibal. Tavo has just come over for breakfast. He comments favorably on her cooking, which must have improved since before, she didn’t know how to cook at all. Just then the phone rings. It’s Mario. He’s gotten her lunch with the head of Plastic Surgery at the hospital. And it’s at a nice restaurant too. Mario’s sure the deal will work out great. Lidia is excited and when she puts the phone down, Tavo gets that jealous look on his face. Lidia doesn’t notice and says that she’s going to be selling policies like hotcakes. (Hot bread actually.)

Gloria is at Silvana’s. “You win.” Gloria tells her. I will go to Guadalajara and counsel Azul-Azucena to stay with the man who loves her, so that my grandchild can have a family. Silvana is beside herself with joy. She tells mom that there will never be a lack of closeness between them again. Gloria stops her and says that if she finds out that Silvana has been lying to her, even if the cost is Silvana hating her for the rest of her life, she will tell Diego. Silvana is impactada.

Amar Friday 1/4/08 In which the show drags on even more

How could there be two more weeks of this!

I'm a fill-in recapper here, and I haven't been watching (or reading recaps) every day, so I'm doing my best to understand plot twists that I have missed. As you all said regarding Thursday, it's like there's a personality transplant for everyone.

We open with a recap of the last three scenes: Caty overhears about the bracelet, Azul thinks longingly about the past while looking at her bracelet. Gloria tells Silvana that it's never too late to do the right thing. Sure . . .

Silvana overhears Diego and Caty talking. Caty tells him she doesn't want him to marry that evil witch. Well, she doesn't call her an evil witch. Silvana interrupts before she can say much more.

LF is having a conversation with some older guy who is his father? The father seems to want him not to marry Azul, because why should he give a name to someone else's kid?

Ceci tells Clem and Anibal about her recent almost kiss with Mario. They talk about how LF is now free and she can go out with him. (I missed any episodes where the chronology with LF and Ceci is explained. Did Ceci go out with him before he met Azul?) Clem says she doesn't trust Silvana.

LF continues to talk to his father.

LF talks to the camera and says "where are you, Azul." Azul moons at the camera and thought bubbles "I miss you." But who is she talking about?

Silvana is talking to her mother, who is still trying to get her to take the righteous path. Silvana talks to Azul on the cell phone and asks for her drunken jailer, er, Manuel. Mom wonders who it is. Silvana says it's about a modeling assignment. Floria wonders why she's so agitated about just a modeling assignment.

Silvana wants her mother's help in winning over Diego's family. Mom says she should treat them nicely (use honey). I can't stand watching this psycho liar anymore!

Now Caty tells Diego that Silvana yelled at her when they were out last week. Diego tells Silvana they can't marry. His daughter's opinion is paramount. Caty doesn't want to change Azul for Silvana. Silvana goes on and on in a very boring scene where she begs for another chance.

Lidia is talking to one of the plastic surgeons about her business, which I don't understand. Tavo lurks jealously in the hall and listens.

Silvana comes into Caty's room to talk. Caty has the largest mountain of stuffed animals I have ever seen. Silvana tries to win her over by telling her how much she loves her.

Silvana talks to Clem and says that Clem has finally succeeded in breaking her up with Diego. Gee, when I first was watching this show, wasn't Clem trying to put them together? What happened? When did Clem wise up?
Anyway, Silvana suddenly comes up with a diabolical plan. She tells Clem that she has something of Diego's to remember him by--implying it's a baby. Tell me, folks--did Diego and Silvana actually sleep together recently? I thought it was an abortive attempt. Or does Diego think they did it? He's such an idiot.

Caty asks Diego if Silvana's having a baby. She tells him that Silvana asked that she not tell anyone. Diego calls Silvana. She checks her caller id and smiles conspiratorially but doesn't answer. I"ve got you now, she says. Suffer a little. She swaggers out. She is at the airport waiting for a flight to Guadalajara, apparently.

Tavo now springs out from his hiding place and tells Lidia he can't marry her. I can't follow this story and his annoying tests. Is he really rich? She convinces him she really wants him even if he's porr. All she wants is him. Haven't we heard this before? She is going to work to get back his money? Can someone fill me in on what is going on here?

The reporter finds Frijolito. How'd you find me, Frijo asks. Well, that's what reporters do, he's told. The reporter tells Frijo that he knows that Silvana accused Frijo unjustly and wants more info. Frijo won't tell tales. He wants to genius reporter to figure it out for himself.

GSD worries about his baby. He blows enough smoke to kill three babies.

Clem and Diego discuss Silvana's baby alert.

Lidia and the plastic surgeon rehash her situation with Tavo. Just then the phone rings. It's GSD calling to say there's a problem with his baby.

GSD blows more smoke while worrying. There's a long talk between him and LF where nothing happens.

Clem and Diego call Gloria and find out that Silvana went to Guadalajara. They're all beginning to smell a rat.

Silvana arrives and finds Manuel passed out drunk on the couch. She tells him that Diego broke up with her but she planted the pregnancy idea. Manuel has a "scathingly brilliant idea." (courtesy Hayley Mills in "The Trouble with Angels." He will impregnate Silvana. I'll pause while you all barf. Anyway, that was the end. Does he think this will be a way to outsmart DNA testing? Is he going to do it the traditional way, or turkey baster. I don't want to know. Yuck.

Amar Sin Limites: Thursday Jan. 3, 2008---"The Moppet Lets her Thoughts be Known and the Show Drags On."

Just to note, we got the offical Univision commercial telling us when Amar grand finale is, it is set for Friday January 18th. Sad to say, I'm so glad to know that the end is near.....

As per usual, we start today’s episode with re-showing the end of yesterday’s show…. Diego and Caty talking in the park…..Bruno telling Silvana that he’s got photos that can destroy her career……Julio and Arnie rehashing their wanting to help children…..Diego and LuisFe meeting via the Mother Superior …..Silvana showing Frijolito a picture of Diego and Manuel and threatening harm to Diego if Frijolito doesn’t keep his mouth shut.

Frijolito tells Silvana that she’s going to pay one day for the bad things she’s been doing (how wise our young orphan is in the ways of karma). This karmic reasoning goes in one ear and right out the other, Silvana threatens to harm Azulcena if Frijo doesn’t cooperate. He doubts she’ll be able to hurt Azulcena because she’s living with the nuns. Nope, Silvana informs him, Azulcena is with us. She proceeds to call Manuel and orders a phone photo be snapped of Azulcena as proof to the Little Bean. Manuel tells Silvana that earlier Azulcena got hold of the phone and tried to make a call, but the problem was nipped in the bud. Manuel takes the photo and sends it to Silvana.

Diego is all friendly with his unknown rival. LuisFe, Diego and MS talk about Frijolito. Diego tells MS that Frijo came to see him at the house and wants to know if she knows what he could have possibly wanted. MS states that only Frijolito knows. LuisFe adds that Frijo has something important to tell them both.

After showing him the photo, Silvana tells Frijolito to come to the dark side. He says how could he join her when she’s threatening Azulcena. “Well”, Silvana says, “Azulcena isn’t so sweet and innocent. Actually she’s a murderer. She, along with her husband, killed my son and Caty’s mom.” She pulls out newspaper clippings just to prove it. **Has she just been carrying these around in her handbag for who only knows how long? She really is a whack job.** Frijo says, if Azulcena is bad and you’re good how come you got me locked up in here? Silvana diverts attention from truly answering that by promising Frijo that when she gets him out of there he can come live with Diego, Caty and her.

Efrain and Tavo discuss what went down with Lidia and her shopping for an engagement ring. Efrain thinks that Tavo should just give up his “test” and realize that Lidia truly loves him. Tavo’s not so sure. So Efrain says you need to stop your stupidness or else. Even if it costs his friendship with Diego, Efrain is ready to spill the beans about Tavo’s little set ups to trick Lidia.

MS and Diego find out from the lawyer that most likely Frijo will get six months in juvie for the crime. Diego says he needs to talk to Frijo and the lawyer goes to arrange it. MS is upset and Diego gives her a big hug.

Frijolito turns to the dark side and agrees to help Silvana. Her first test for him is to call Azulcena, assure her all is well with him and tell her that no one wants to hear from her again. Manuel and Azulcena are in Guadalajara at a restaurant when the call comes in. Manuel’s been trying to get Azulcena to eat, she can’t. Frijolito follows Silvana’s orders and you can tell it really hurts him to say these things to Azulcena. They hang up the phone and Diego, MS, and LuisFe walk into the room.

Arnie visits Emilia and he fills her in on what happened when he and Julio went to help at the orphanage. He decides that some retail therapy will help and tries to get her to go shop for some baby stuff. She tells him that she can’t. He notices that there is no baby stuff in the house. She doesn’t want to jinx things and get stuff for a baby that might not make it through the high risk pregnancy. Arnie comforts her, but thinks she’s only creating more stress by worrying so much.

LF, MS and Diego urge Frijolito to talk about what happened. So Frijolito, towing the Silvana stated line, fesses to the crimes he didn’t commit. Diego and MS go to see what can be done and LF sticks around to talk to the kid. Silvana hovers, so LF isn’t able to get any more info from Frijolito. LF asks Silvana if she knows where Azulcena went, she tells him nope. Diego returns and states his commitment to helping the orphans. Silvana says don’t you worry your pretty little head over the orphans, I’m taking care of it all just like we agreed. Diego’s like, whatever and then he and LF give a little subliminal public service announcement on helping orphans.

Frijolito is approached by another little juvie. He wants to know what went down. Frijo he had to lie to get out, but it’s worth it because he’s going to be adopted. He adds, for the audience’s benefit, that once he’s adopted he’ll make sure that Diego and Azulcena get back together.

Lidia and Tavo bore me…oh I mean they are out to dinner. They love each other, blah, blah. Lidia gets a call from Ceci, they are getting together later to discuss the plastic surgery insurance deal. Manuel’s name comes up, but someone help me out here, all I got out of it is that he was supposed to meet with them but will obviously miss the meeting. Is that right?

Back in Guadalajara, Manuel is tossing back a few and tries to get Azulcena to join in. She says, “no way, I’m pregnant.” **Shame on you Manuel, that is your grandchild!!!**

Mario tells Ceci that Azulcena left LuisFe, so he’s now free. Ceci says as if I care. Mario tells her all the things he likes about her and that he’s liking her more and more each day. He goes in for a kiss and LuisFe shows up.

Silvana and Diego return home and Clemi is there with Caty. Diego fills Caty in on what happened with Frijolito. Clemi mentions Silvana getting Manuel the car and him missing the meeting and how upset Lidia is going to be. Silvana says him missing the meeting is her fault, she’ll give him a call and see what’s going on. Before she can do that, Clemi corners her and demands to know why she told Caty that Ceci had designs on Diego. Silva says that’s not what she said. She claims that she told Caty that it was inappropriate for her to be messing with Ceci’s love life. Clemi doesn’t believe a word of it and tells Silva that next time something like that happens, she’s going straight to Diego. She adds that Silvana used to sit well with her, but if she keeps it up she’s going to find out what it is like to have Clemi for an enemy.

Meanwhile, Diego’s calling Manuel from the other room. He’s passed out on the table and Azulcena picks up the phone. The tension is building (or so the background music cues us to think), will Azul answer and will Diego recognize her voice? Will she recognize his and regain her memory? Before she can speak to Diego, Manuel comes to and snatches the phone out of her hands. Diego gives his dad the riot act for missing the meeting and lets him know how hurt that Lidia will be. Diego basically lets Manuel know that he’s worthless as a father and constantly a disappointment. Manuel looks at Azulcena and says I’m not so bad, in fact I’ve got your happiness in my hands. Diego wants to know that that means, but blows it off to Manuel’s being drunk. Silvana walks into the room and is afraid that Manuel might have said too much. She demands that Diego tell her what Manuel had to say. Nothing.

Ceci decides to leave now that LuisFe has returned. Mario walks her out and asks if it bothers her to know that Luis is now essentially free. She says that Luis was interested in another and she knows that. If she were to try to get back with Luis it wouldn’t work, because he’s still all wrapped up in Azulcena. It reminds her of Diego and Silvana. Diego’s with her now, but still in love with Azul. Diego and Silvana’s relationship is all messed up and Ceci has no interest in having that type of relationship. Ceci leaves and LuisFe decides to look out for Ceci. He indicates that Mario has been somewhat of a player and that Ceci is a sweet, wholesome girl. He doesn’t want Mario to mess with that. Mario says if you were so concerned with her well being why’d you break her heart? OK, he didn’t say that, but if I was writing the scripts that would have been what he said. Instead he tells Luis that his feelings for Ceci are genuine and that he feels for Ceci the same way that Luis feels for Azulcena.

Silvana sets her sights on Caty (because she hasn’t reached her daily quota of threats). She wants to know what Caty was telling Clemi. Caty says she was just telling Clemi what happened and did that because she didn’t believe a word that Silvana was saying about Ceci. (My notes are sketchy here, so I don’t know if I missed any other revealing details)..the conversation ends with Caty telling Silvana that she doesn’t like her and that her Papi doesn’t love her and no matter how hard Silvana tries, she’ll never measure up to Azul. The moppet knows how to make an exit. She skips out of the room as Silvana says, maldita esquincla (damn brat---does anyone know if esquincla is related to esquina and the whole putting naughty children in the corner?).

Clemi and Diego discuss Manuel which leads her to telling her son that she’s lost faith in Silvana. She tells Diego that she’s seen Silvana give Manuel money, then there’s the whole thing with the car and also she’s seen them talking in low voices, like they are up to something. She’s also observed that Silvana’s attitude toward Caty has changed. Diego says that he’s noticed and been thinking the same thing. He thanks his mother for talking to him because it has helped him to see things more clearly.

LF blathers on to Mario about Azulcena and how he’s upset that she just up and left without thinking twice. Mario says that LF needs to accept that he’s lost Azulcena because she’s returned to her former life and is now with her baby daddy. LuisFe is confused because how could she just forget a love like they had. Mario says he doesn’t want LuisFe’s new single status to automatically convert him into a rival for Ceci’s attention.

Manuel está borracha. Azul says he’s in no shape to drive.

Gloria visits Silvana and lets her know that her feelings were hurt that she and Chuco weren’t invited to the engagement party. Diego comes in and asks Gloria about the conflicting stories he got from Chuco and Silvana. Gloria covers for her daughter and she invites the couple to come out to dinner with her and Chuco.

Alfredo returns home and Emilia is sleeping. Arnie fills his dad in on what happened when he suggested shopping to Emilia. Alfie confirms that he’s been cautious about planning for this child because the risks are high. Arnie says that Emilia and Alfie shouldn’t suffer through this pregnancy, they should enjoy it. This child is a blessing and its coming needs to be celebrated. Alfie tells his son that he’s right!

Silvana’s getting ready for the party and the maid asks if she’ll be wearing Caty’s bracelet. Silvana essentially says, as if I would wear that trash with my haute couture gown. Caty overhears the whole thing and once Silvana heads out, Caty marches upstairs to take her bracelet back. **I might add Caty was wearing slippers on the wooden steps, it looked dangerous and I could only foresee a terrible fall, as we all know in true novela fashion—someone has to fall down the stairs at some point in the story. Since they haven’t been too original in the plot department I thought for sure our little Caty was a goner and we’d have the distraught father scene, but thankfully nothing happened to the moppet.**

This is juxtaposed with Azulcena looking at her Caty bracelet and saying it is the only thing of value she has because it is her only connection with her past (I think the baby is a rather big connection as well, but I suppose I’ll cut her some slack and assume she was only referring to material possessions).

Gloria tries to talk to Silvana some more about what’s going on with her and Diego. Silvana isn’t interested in talking. Gloria presses the issue and Silvana accuses her of emotional blackmail. Silvana tells her mother that in all actuality she doesn’t need her around, so if she keeps it up…..Gloria says she knows they didn’t always have the best relationship, but she’s trying. Silvana tells her that it is too late for it and Gloria asserts to her that it is never too late to change the path you are on.

Diego goes in to say good night to Caty before he heads out to dinner. Caty tells him that she does not want him to marry Silvana. Speak of the devil, she’s listening at the door. END OF EPISODE--- Just a question, earlier in the episode when Clemi and Diego were talking about Silvana, was she eavesdropping on that conversation too? Or am I mixing it up with the ending? Please shed some light on this if you know.

Amar Sin Limites #113, Wednesday 1-2: New Year, same old plot

Leftovers: Tavo asks Lidia to pick out her own engagement ring in yet another of his little tests for her; Lidia is not as thrilled with this as he wanted her to be. Bruno (photographer guy) and Diego have words; who exactly will sue whom and for what remains to be seen. Diego confronts Silvana about news of their "engagement" showing up in the papers and asks her for an explanation. Silvana calls Bruno and he threatens her with giving Diego the pictures of her, Manuel, and Frijolito.

Silvana whines, "oh, poor me, why can't anything ever go right?"

Gloria tells Chucho that she's upset because Gaspar said that Silvana and Diego announced their relationship last night at the party. She's offended because she and Chucho weren't invited. Chucho tries to calm her down, but Gloria is upset that she and Silvana are growing farther apart. Chucho points out that Gloria has tried her best to keep contact.

Out in the boutique, Gaspar tries to get Julio to tell him what he knows about Silvana that he won't tell him or Ceci. Julio shows Gaspar the newspaper and tells him it's all lies, the engagement party was for Lidia and Tavo. Julio says he'll tell Diego everything IF he sees that Diego isn't happy with Silvana, but not before. Good point, I guess, since why would Diego believe him if he thinks Silvana is the greatest thing since Taco Day? I'm with Gaspar, though, I just want to know what the gossip is :)

Silvana tries to convince Diego to drop the lawsuit against Bruno. She tries to play the angle that it's embarrassing for him to sue saying that they're not engaged. Whatever. She tries to say that he just got confused because she was in a hurry and told him it was an engagement party and he must have gotten the details wrong. That doesn't go over well either. He's upset that somehow even Azul got dragged into it and Silvana tells him to let Azul rest in peace.

LuisFe and Mario are still talking about Azulcena's letter. LuisFe is sad he didn't get a chance to say goodbye. Mario thinks it was decent of her to give him the letter. Mario thinks it was all for the best. LuisFe, however is mopey and spouts a bunch of melodramatic nonsense about drowning without her, having no air, etc. Mario takes it better than I would have and doesn't even roll his eyes.

On the road with Manuel and Azulcena: For the millionth time, Todo Cambió plays as Manuel pulls into a convenience store and Azul sits in the car having non-orange flashbacks about macking on LuisFe in various locations. (I'm just going to sit here and chant "they will not ruin this song for me" until it's over.) Azul talks to herself about how she wishes LuisFe was here. She spies a bank of pay phones and uses a card to call him, but she holds her hand over the mouthpiece as she says "Sorry, I just wanted to hear your voice." Manuel catches her and twists her arm off trying to get her to say who she was calling. Azulcena wants to know what authority he has to do this and Manuel backs off. He accidentally calls her Azul, though, and has to correct himself. He tries to play it off as being too nervous because he knows Azulcena has no memory and he's responsible for her. The idiot leaves with him and gets back in the car.

Silvana sits in the garden and cries to Azul that she hates her. I'm sure the feeling will be mutual as soon as she gets her memory back. Or maybe before that, I don't know, if Azulcena grows a spine. Diego comes outside to apologize for hurting Silvana's feelings. Idiot. Diego says that he's sorry, but he didn't ask for Silvana's hand and if the guy just admits he was wrong about that, he'll drop the lawsuit. Silvana changes the subject to News from the Nunnery. Diego tells her that Frijolito is in jail and he's going to get a lawyer to see what he can do. At first, he won't let Silvana take it over, even though she tries to say she wanted to be in charge of all of Diego's "charitable works." But of course, he gives in eventually and says he'll give her the lawyer's number. *sigh*

Bruno's in a restaurant talking to some guy about how he can get in to see Frijolito, but according to the guy there's practically no way for Bruno to swing it. Even if he were to say he's doing an article, he's a fashion reporter, so that wouldn't work.

Silvana informs MS that she is now in charge of taking care of all their needs. She gets snippy when MS says that Diego didn't say anything to her about it. She says they shouldn't bother Diego with anything anymore. Not that she wasn't already going to get a big enough comeuppance, but using that tone of voice with a nun! The Karma stick keeps growing bigger and bigger for our Silvana.

Diego is at the boutique. You know, where he works. Designing all the latest fashions. For women. To wear. He's actually got scissors in his hands and is cutting actual fabric. Really, I'm not making this up. Try not to expire from shock. And also, behold the wrath of Don Chucho. He played it cool with Gloria, but when Diego tries to say it's normal for Silvana not to share everything with Mommy, Chucho gives him hell for not inviting Gloria to the announcement of Diego and Silvana as an official couple. Diego says that Silvana said she did invite them and they had other plans, which of course is a LIE. Chucho's really steamed because Gloria's feelings were hurt. Diego plans to talk to Silvana about this because he finds it really odd. Chucho says Silvana hasn't been the same since she went to Japan. As much as people keep saying that, what are the chances this will turn into some sci-fi thing where the real Silvana is still in Japan in some crazed inventor's basement and this is an Evil Silvanabot? It might explain the hair.

Evil!Silvana tries to talk GSD and Emilia into being OK with her relationship with Diego. GSD says "no way." Silvana tries to say that since Azul is dead it’s not like she's taking anything away from her. She actually crosses herself and says "may she rest in peace" when she says Azul's name, which just grates. There is nothing about this woman that is even remotely genuine anymore. GSD shuts her down and says "it's not you, it's the fact that Diego didn't wait a reasonable amount of time for all that he kept saying he looooooved her." GSD excuses himself from the room. Emilia gives Silvana a well-deserved "I told you so." Silvana tries to say that Diego and she are really enjoying their relationship and having a grand old time, but Emilia doesn't believe it. Silvana even tries to say that she and Diego are making wild monkey love every night. Emilia brings up Azul and Silvana flips her wig (not literally) and berates Emilia for "still being on Azul's side" even though Azul is dead. Are we going to be subjected to Silvana's crazed ranting from now until the end of the show? Emilia gets this look on her face like she just now realized how nuts her ex-sister-in-law is.

LuisFe comes to visit MS at the orphanage. He tells her that Azulcena is gone to who-knows-where, has gotten her memory back, and is back with her husband. MS is shocked. LuisFe has to tell her that the kid wasn't really his, he was just trying to protect Azulcena. MS looks disappointed in him.

Emilia tells Silvana that she's tried to soften GSD up and get him on her side, but even she thinks it's too soon. Silvana wants Emilia's help convincing everyone that her being with Diego is "for the best." Emilia questions that and asks if what Silvana said about their relationship was true or what she wants to be true, "Cause we both know you have a history of obsessive-compulsive behavior." Oh, no she didn't! Silvana's pissed and her yelling brings GSD and Mario running. Mario shoots Silvana a dirty look (for disturbing his patient, I would guess…all that exposure to Silvana can't be good for the baby) and says something like "we meet again." Silvana explains the connection with the orphanage and Azulcena. Mario tells them that Azulcena got her memory back and went back to her family. GSD wonders if that wasn't the same Azulcena who is LuisFe's girlfriend. For some reason this makes both Silvana and the sound guy nervous.

MS tells LuisFe that God fixed everything for the best. LuisFe doesn't want to keep talking about it. MS asks about Azulcena's real name, etc, but since it wasn't in the letter, LuisFe can't tell her. MS tells LuisFe to forget about her. He whines about how special she was. MS agrees that everyone loved her, especially Frijolito, who's now in juvie. MS thinks it wouldn't have happened, "if only I hadn't scolded him for telling me he know who Azulcena really was" (regañar=to scold). LuisFe is impactado.

Mario gives GSD and Emilia the short version of the story. I guess Silvana hasn't heard this part, where LuisFe and Azulcena were going to get married as soon as Azulcena figured out who she was. GSD asks if the plans for meeting Azulcena are still on. Silvana looks worried, but no one's paying attention to her.

For no apparent reason, we're now at Caty's school finding out that she tried to run off while one of the other kids was leaving school sick. Caty arrives and tells Diego that she was only trying to say goodbye to her friend, not go anywhere. Diego reminds her about the time she left the restaurant (when Azul was first playing Mommy) and got lost. He tells her the story of Frijolito as a cautionary tale. Caty feels bad for Frijolito because he only wanted to talk to Diego.

LuisFe wants to know what Frijolito said about Azulcena's identity, but there wasn't anything else. LuisFe wonders if maybe he told Azulcena and that's how she found out, but MS says they didn't see each other. LuisFe is anxious to talk to Frijolito, but MS says they can only get visits from their parents or guardians ("tutores"; not "teachers" as I kept thinking it meant and couldn't figure out why teachers would be allowed to visit). LuisFe begs for help to talk to Frijolito, but MS has some appointments she can't cancel. LuisFe goes off to do some doctoring for the kids.

Anibal and Clemencia are all cozy in the office, going over some paperwork. Hm, no, can't say paperwork is the kind of thing that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling, but hey, if that's their thing. Lidia comes in and reports that Tavo took her to buy her engagement ring and then out to eat. She shows off her ring, but I can't figure out if it's the bigger one or the smaller one of the ones she was looking at. Clemencia and Anibal ooh and aah, but Lidia's quiet. Anibal decides she's reached the critical period that all brides-to-be do when they're wondering if they've made the right decision. Okay, when did Anibal become Master Yoda? Lidia says he's right, she says there seems to be less feeling and romance than she wanted because Tavo didn't try to make giving her the engagement ring unforgettable. Well, he did, but not in the way she wanted--drinks, hiding the ring in a cake, whatever. Anibal thinks she should be up front with Tavo about wanting him to be "detallista" (and this does not mean "a perfectionist" as it says in the dictionary; this is about "detalles," those little romantic attentions like flowers, cards, sticky notes, whatever, even just saying sweet things; in other words, the opposite of being a total slacker and taking your partner for granted). Lidia says that she thinks money has changed Tavo since he wasn't this way before. Well, if Tavo were paying the slightest bit of attention, I think he'd have his answer already. Idiot.

Silvana calls the lawyer and asks about the possibility of Frijolito getting out. I think what the lawyer says is that Frijolito will have to stay in juvie if the value of what he allegedly stole is more than 50 times the minimum wage. So I guess it depends on how much Manuel was carrying in his wallet. They agree to meet at juvie later to try and get this resolved. Silvana then calls Manuel and tells him to do something. Azulcena wants to talk to Silvana, but Manuel says she was on the way into a photo shoot and the signal was bad. He asks if it was Silvana that Azulcena was trying to call, but she says no, it was LuisFe. Azulcena is feeling bad about Frijolito.

A designer, a sommelier, and a Mother Superior walk into a bar. No, actually, Julio and Arnaldo have come to a meeting with MS. She fills them in about their amnesiac, and Frijolito's stint in juvie. She assures them it's an unfair accusation--her kids have good values. She mentions Silvana's name and Julio just barely edges his tone into sarcasm as he says "oh, she's interested in helping kids too." He and Arni are there to see what they can do to help out the kids there since they can't have kids themselves. MS has to have it spelled out to her that they're, you know, a couple, not just a couple of guys who decided they couldn't have kids. This does not go over well with the sound guy. MS' face is neutral for now. Commercials. She says she's no one to judge, we're all God's children, but she can't let them hang out with the kids because the Church doesn't approve. Arni says they're just trying to help, but MS says this is just how it goes, please understand.

Anibal, because he loves Lidia like a daughter, and after consulting Clemencia (who isn't sure it's the right thing to do), decides to call Tavo and tell him he made Lidia feel bad. Meanwhile, out in the reception area, Efrain has come to ask Lidia if she really loves Tavo. She insists she does. Efrain says he just wants to make sure she won't leave Tavo at the altar. Lidia's like "where the hell are you getting that idea from?" She wonders who's looking down on her more, Efrain or Tavo. Efrain's like "oh, you noticed the attitude too?" Lidia says that Tavo's assumed that she loves him more with money. Efrain asks if that's not the way it is. Lidia says that's not the way it is and there's no point talking about it. She turns her back to him and Efrain smiles. Now if he can just get his idiot friend to quit being an idiot.

Azulcena thought bubbles to God to help her and her kid. She doesn't know how she's supposed to raise her kid if she doesn't know who she is, etc. Manuel pulls over into a scenic overlook. He asks Azulcena to get out of the car and says he wants to take some pictures of Azulcena and of both of them. He says Silvana needs the pictures. Azulcena smiles.

Mario is sitting at a table, looking half-asleep when a doorbell rings. He gets up, rubs his eyes, puts on an apron, and shuffles some stuff around on the table. It's Ceci at the door. He says he cooked for her and shows her to the table. She asks how she can help and he puts her to work setting the table. Heh. That will keep her from seeing the takeout containers in the kitchen. He brings out flowers and candles. Azucenas no less. Ceci mentions that they were her friend Azul's favorite flowers. He also has a red rose for Ceci. Ceci: "Hey, don't think you're going to seduce me with dinner, candelight, and a flower." Mario says that besides just wanting the pleasure of her company, he wanted to talk to her about something that happened today that he thinks she needs to know about. Dinner first, though, as a full stomach makes the heart content (panza llena, corazon contenta). He says they've got lots of time to talk, since Ceci had some things she wanted to talk to him about too. Ceci tells him about Lidia selling insurance and Mario says if she's a friend of Ceci's, sure he'll help.

At juvie: The lawyer says they've had a hard time getting access to Frijolito. Silvana asks to speak to him first since she knows him and he might confess to her. The lawyer goes off to talk to the social worker. Bruno shows up, saying to Silvana that if they'd actually made arrangements to meet, it couldn't have worked out this well.

Diego and Caty are out at a park. Diego asks if she'd be upset if they left so that he can see if he can talk to Frijolito. Caty asks if he can go tomorrow, since they don't go to the park much.

Silvana tells Bruno the deal: Diego won't sue if Bruno puts in a notice that he was wrong. Bruno won't do it since it wasn't his mistake, it was all Silvana's doing…just like getting the kid arrested. Silvana tries to front like this should tell Bruno not to mess with her, but he reminds her that he has the photos, so he's got the upper hand. He's no longer threatened by her. She backs off and says she's not asking him to print the note, since Diego's going to forget anyway, she just wants him not to publish anything about them for a while. Bruno won't buy that either. Silvana now tries to tempt him with "don't say anything about the kid and I'll give you the scoop of the year." He wants to know what she's got against the kid, but she says it's nothing. Silvana was trying to teach him a lesson about running away from the orphanage. "Diego doesn't know I use such drastic methods. He wouldn't understand. But you do, right?"

Arni and Julio sit in the boutique with their anger at being discriminated against. And seriously, if the orphanage is so hard up for money and help, does it really matter where it's coming from? Julio points out that at least MS was respectful about it. Arni is upset that he won't get to share his time and love with those kids. Julio reminds him that he's at least got a little brother or sister on the way.

When Frijolito sees Silvana coming he tries to walk away, but she grabs his arm and shoves him into a chair. She tells him she's going to get him out of jail, but if he says a word about how he got into jail or about who Azul is, Diego and Azul will suffer and it will be his fault. He doesn't believe she would hurt Diego since she's trying to take Diego away from Azul. Silvana shows him a picture of Manuel and Diego and tells him that Manuel will hurt Diego if Frijolito says anything. Frijolito says she's going to pay for all this one day. I see Frijolito's watched telenovelas before. Silvana, on the other hand, hasn't and gives a "we'll see." She reminds him again to keep his mouth shut lest Azulcena get hurt.

MS and LuisFe AND Diego have all shown up at Juvie. MS introduces LuisFe and Diego. Who, in classic telenovela fashion, will probably now become best friends and spend at least one night getting blind drunk and crying over the women they lost who, hey, wouldn't you just know it, turn out to be the same woman. Come on, the writers might as well, with everything else they've done. *sigh* No clear previews for tomorrow, since we're in (say it with me) ultimos capitulos! Yes, friends, this too shall pass.

But before it does, we could use some help with Friday nights. Can anyone sub, or do we have some potential new recruits? It's a lot of fun! Get in touch with melinama (caray@mappamundi.com) if you're interested in being a recapper.

Amar Sin Limites - Fri.12/28/07 -Where Everyone is Mad at Silvana, Cry Me a River!

This will be my last Friday night recap of Amar. Next Friday I will be in Mexico. Happy New Year to You All! I will be dropping by as an avid reader and commenter while I am at Spanish School.

Opening scene, with GSD and Emilia repeat of baby talk and the pact our well being, your health and the baby. lets pray to San Gabriel Achangel. (Can prayers be regifted too??)
ceci and Mario cal me when you wnat to talk to someone, don't be lonely. Caty set a trap with you your resources I'll look for others.

Diego and Silvana do not get it on. He looks pained kisses but pushes back. I can't do this .dont ask me. If someday i do want to it won't be from instinct. She puts on slinky red robe and slams the door. WHEN Diego. I can't wait. Azul is alive expecting your baby. Ahh, I have another evil idea, I can have an hijo when Azul gives birth. I can take that baby. What a grand idea.

She walks into Azuc's room in her hotel and reads Azul's little diary.

Caty and Clemi talk about plans to have fun, Caty starts to complain that Ceci has been banned by Silvana. Clemi assures her with affection.

Azul wakes Silvana walks in with a giant Hola. My modelling job took longer than I thought. Azul brings up the coincidence and meaning of the bracelets. Lets go look for the place to buy them. Silvana says no it only means it was the start of our friendship. but when Azul wants to find where they are sold Silvana first says hers was a gift. She tosses off that they are too common. She baits Azul about ther baby. We would have to go to place where hippies make these bracelets. Azul still persists that the bracelet is only link to her past.

Clemi and Caty talk on the bed about the todo about Ceci. Did Silvana say something or did you suppose this. Silvana says it is because Ceci wants Diego I don't think so , she's in love with Luis Felipe, Caty says with the clear memory only a child has. Clemi tries to make light of it, No Silvana wasn't serious. Caty then coos so can i continue to see tia Ceci?l Sure. I love Ceci. Were really good friends. Let's eat breakfast and go to school, where is Silvana? Chonita says Silvana went to the gym early.

LuisFe and Mario are discussing that Azuc has psychological reasons for losing her memories. LuisFe recounts that he was in shock with her clothes a mess and bruises from some accident.

Silvana assures Azuc that if the baby is not LF's it will lead to trouble. What's that best way to help you you will have to be apart from LuisFe forever. -BREAK-

Azul questions why would I have to remove myself from LuisFe? Silvana warms to the subject, if the baby is someone else's he could come forward at any time and then you would realize who you loved but if you love LF too.,, The words are real drivel meant to confuse this child like Azuc/Azul while boring the rest of us to tears.

Diego and MM on phone, I have a favor to ask big problem that is very delicate, it needs to be discussed in person. He will go right away.

Azul is speaking and rubbing her belly all loving toward the baby she is carrying who ever it is or who's his daddy. Silvana begins this double double talk trick of saying that baby will be looking for its real father all the time. Azul still childlike asks what to do. Silvana's solution this time is that she should accept nothing from LF and stay away from him to avoid a relationship she can't get out of. I'm here to help you find your way.(orientarte) I have a casita in Guadalajara . My uncle is going there today He can take you there. I will use all my influences, I know a journalist who can do a piece and some research to help you discover who you are.

Diego and and his Mom Clemencia, what are you doing here? It is a good excuse to see Caty in the morning. and fix the house after the party last night, Chonita will clean everything, He discovers Caty's backpack and asks why Silvana hasn't taken her to school yet, She's at the gym. Clemi and Caty will ride with Diego to school and Clemi's work, Clemi goes to check on Caty's teeth washing. Chonita appears with the morning paper and Diego discovers in it that the irresponsible journalist has printed that he and Silvana are engaged to be married. Caty appears at the doorway and looks like she swallowed a frog upon hearing this news.

LouisFe and Mario continue LF has agreed to wait for the baby to be born to formalize their relationship. So for the moment they cannot live together. But living in a hotel will be very expensive, but LF says no it's not my expense but her friend Silvana. Well what do you know about this woman and why are you leaving her to deal with Azul. Oh we met her in the orphanage. Besides she is a world famous model in New York and Japan, Ceci ought to know her.... Mario chimes in ahh yes, she's the one that is hanging out with the widower, Diego, Toscano's son-in-law.

Diego, Clemi and Caty meet at the table while Diego claims, no the paper is a lie, it's not ethical. I wouldn't marry anyone without consulting you. Caty says she hopes he is not going to marry Silvana because she doesn't love her like Mommy Azul did, she doesn't like spending time with her and didn't pay any attention to her at the party. Diego hugs the moppet.

Silvana is reading with sarcasm from Azul's diary about how she loves LF and feels good by his side but she can't be with him until the baby is born but he has promised to marry her if no one else shows up by them. Silvana smirks her "I've got a red wig on and I'm cooler than you" smirk. She's not sure about the due date but is sure she can completely disillusion Azul about LF by then.

LF and Mario Yea, that Silvana was at Diego's house yesterday at a dinner. This Silvana is unsympathetic (antipatica). This woman is a harpy, you should check her out. The divinely innocent trusting LuisFe retorts, perhaps are talking about two different Silvana's the one he knows has been such a good friend to Azuc. Mario launches off about Cecl and his second time being around her. He really, really likes her.

Azul, dressed in her country bumpkin best is looking very uncoordinated with her little bag, says, I don't feel good about disappearing without giving LuisFe a letter, You can write one on the way. Where is my diary? Silvana will get it to her later.

Ceci and Clemi says I am very worried and sorry about paining you. You warned me but I did not listen. It's about Silvana. What did she do? She told Caty something terrible about you.

Azul is handing Silvana her little letter to LF She begs Silvana to give it to him.

Clemi goes on to say that Caty doesn't love Silvana and is upset about what she is doing. Ceci says, rightly, Caty is more intelligent than many of the adults around her. Clemi goes on about the notice in the paper that Silvana must have told her journalist friend that the famous model Silvana Lombardi is giving up her fabulous international career to stay in Mexico for her engagement and wedding to Diego Moran. Ceci goes wild, wanting to prevent Silvana from what she is doing to Diego [if she only knew the half of it]. Clemi hates to condemn Silvana's actions in front of everyone, especially Diego since he is just coming out of his depression and taking back his career life. Right, but Ceci points out they will regret it later if they remain silent now. Since Azul died Silvana is a different person. Ceci realizes these personality traits were forshadowed when they learned she had been in an psychiatric institution after Nico's death only showed themselves again when she wanted to kill Mauricio but now she is using them to get close to Diego to replace Azul in his life.

Manuel shows up leaning into the car Azul and Silvana are in. Azul looks scared but seems to have no recall of who he is. He leans in intimately, in his special greasy way, and Azul says she has a very strange sensation but can't remember what she should. He even taunts her with perhaps she knows him from another life. The music is very menacing here. Silvana assures her it's just because she needs to recognize someone, anyone... But Silvana has been saying such lovely things about you, I feel like I have known you for years. Silvana breaks in with, he is going to take you to Guadalajara to stay until you find yourself..[right, in a place you have never been and where no one will possibly recognize you.] Manuel smiles that particularly diabolical smile he is best at. -BREAK-

Silvana looks at what Azul has written and tells Azul she isn't going to send this letter to LuisFe because it will only invite him to come looking for her. She needs to break with him and maintain a distance because they would only end up kissing like they did at the mission when Madre Maria found them. This trip will be for her own good and safety. You need to tell LuisFe to forget about you then you can be free to look for your family and not involve him in a shameful infidelity with your real husband (if we should find out that there is one or ever has been). Silvana ends up making Azul feel selfish for wanting to stay close to LuisFe even as friends.

At Anibal and Clemencia's office, Anibal and Lidia enter where Ceci and Clemi are still talking. Anibal and Clemi leave the two young women to talk about guy stuff and disappear. Lidia questions Ceci about how great Mario seemed last night. Ceci admits he is wonderful but she is still in love with his best friend who loves someone else. Ceci lists he is great, he is handsome, he has a prestigious career as a famous doctor, he has family and money and Lidia counters with what's not to love here, you should enjoy this. BUT, just in the shadows comes Tavo with his built in paranoid radar turned on high...

LuisFe and Mario show up at the desk at Azul's hotel asking for Silvana's room. The desk clerk tells him Silvana settled her account and checked out. Didn't she leave me a message?
Nope! How strange. Let's call her cell phone. I don't know the number, but we can get in touch with her at her boyfriend, Diego Moran's house.

Silvana and Manuel are plotting that while Azul rewrites her letter to LuisFe which Silvana insists will keep him from trying to find her. Manuel does his famous squeeze for more money, that little casita in Guadalajara cost more than I expected. Silvana's cell phone rings. She babbles about just getting out of the gym and not feeling well, but he wants to talk about the bomb in the newspaper. What news? Ah, Silvana you know. She says she is off to the pharmacy to get pills, she just doesn't know what is causing this, NAUSEA....He is with Madre Maria talking about something very important. Silvana looks alarmed and quickly offers to come straight to the orphanage, but he relents a bit that if she isn't well, they can meet at the house. Silvana panics that Diego will find out about the framing of little Frijolito. She demands that Manuel drive Azul to the casita in Guadalajara alone. He really is allergic to physical movement of any kind it seems. He thinks that is too much work to do. Azul is afraid. Even with no memory, Azul senses how slimy this guy is. Silvana says she can call her or anyone else from her cell phone. She gives her money for maternity clothes. Manuel grabs the money and counts it while he tells Silvana and Azul all the things she can buy with it. [Oh sure, she's going to see all of it later. - BREAK -

Diego listens to Madre Maria tell him that Frijolito has taken off and it is so unlike him. She has discovered he is in "juvie" detention (tutelar para menores). Diego exclaims, he's in jail? He had told them he lived in the street, I don't know why he lied. He is accused of stealing, it's unjust, something really bad must have happened to make him act like this. Diego promises to get him a good lawyer and get him out of this frightening (espantoso) place right away.

Lidia greets Tavo who comes around the corner, isn't she glad to see him? He came to see Anibal about some things about the wedding. Ceci excuses herself as a bad third and exits. Anibal and Clemi are working on papers, They talk about Lidia reconciling with her father and Clemi hopes that Manuel actually reconciles with both of his children and that he merits their return. Lidia doesn't want to harbor grudges says Clemi but she isn't who worries her. Who worries her is Diego and Caty. She has no confidence in Silvana who has changed so much. She then tells that she saw Silvana talking privately with Manuel and then giving him money. That seems really bad. But she said it was only to help him. Clemi has a bad feeling of foreboding about this, because Silvana is pitting Caty against Cecelia. She wants to tell Diego all about this but she is afraid he be deceived and fall into another crisis. Anibal says it is clear that Diego doesn't feel the seme way about Silvana as he did about Azul. She brings up again the anonymous call to Diego's house with someone saying they knew where Azul is. Anibal agrees that this will bring up all kinds of bad feelings and memories. Clemi says this is exactly why she hasn't told Diego about the call.

Silvana talks to herself about the growing animosity with Clemencia but that just means that she will have to further alienate her from her son Diego.

Arnaldo, Julio and Gaspar are talking at the boutique. Julio is sorry he missed the big engagement announcement for Diego and Silvana like the paper reported. Gaspar is incensed that the party wasn't for them at all. Diego only said she was living there. They too are on to Silvana's game.

Silvana shows up at the hotel where LuisFe and Mario are having tea and waiting for her. They stand up and say it is urgent that they talk with her. Where is Azul. Silvana insists that she left this morning and left this note.... LuisFe tries to get her to tell more but she has to go off for an important meeting with Diego. LuisFe doesn't think anything is as important as discovering why Azul disappeared. LuisFe is handed the letter from Azul.

Azul and Manuel chat in the car about about her feeling bad to leave LuisFe without talking to him and leaving without being able to talk to Frijolito who couldn't be found before she left the orphanage. Manuel makes up a story about hiding from his family when he was little. She asks if he has children. He answers two and one is about to be married but to a laborer who doesn't have much promise. Azul thinks love is the most important thing to have. Nothing else matters much.

Tavo and Lidia show up at a jewelry store he says snidely that the cost isn't important even if she wants the most expensive one. She should just pick the one she likes best. She looks guilty [run girl, run, stinginess only grows.]

LuisFe is reading the letter with Azul's voice reading it to him. She loved him when it started and she knew nothing of her life but now she knows she has to find her husband. But she loved him...He crumples the paper. Let's go Mario, Azucena doesn't want to be found. Silvana is snidely thinking that she has now put LuisFe and Mario off the track, Ceci is demoted as a threat and she proudly applauds herself that only she and Manuel know that Azucena is actually Azul Toscano. [What's that old saying, "Pride goeth before a fall?]

Lidia turns down the big pretty ring and picks the little one that the store clerk says is sooo econmical (not pretty). Lidia takes the high road for a change and says her love for him is the only thing that matters not money or a big ring, but she loves him with all her heart whether there is money or not. Tavo ends up looking sheepish at his trick.

Diego arrives home to find the journalist, Bruno, lurking by the garage. He gets out to confront him about his second lie in the paper and shouts about defamation. The journalist defends himself. Diego goes in the yard to find Silvana and begins to rant about the journalist and finds it a strange co-incidence that Silvana has been close by both times that these stories have been leaked into the paper. She acts all offended, he wants an explanation. She goes out to confront Bruno, he is offended that Diego threatened him. Bruno demands that Silvana confirm the information she gave him or Diego is correct that a retraction is in order. When she tries to blow him off that this is just a small matter. He counters with his story and the pictures he has prepared to use in the case of the robbery by Frijolito!

Amar Sin Limites-Thursday December 27, 2008: "Silvana's schemes fall to an all new low & Mario's charms reach an all new high"

As usual the episode begins with the last 10 minutes of last night’s show. So we see again, Silvana eavesdropping as Azulcena and Luis discuss the baby & Ceci and Mario are discussing Luis and his feelings for Azulcena.

Luis leaves to find Frijolito and Silvana enters and offers to help Azulcena. Azulcena spills the beans that the baby isn’t Luis’s. Silvana is properly impactada. Luis returns and Silvana offers to give Azulcena a place to stay since she’s being kicked out of the Home. Luis (displaying some common sense) says thanks but no thanks, we don’t know you that well. Silvana takes offense, she is, after all, a famous model. That seems to do the trick in convincing him (Luis’s common sense quickly flew out the window). Silvana takes Azulcena to a hotel and offers to help her find the baby daddy.

Mario tells Ceci that she needs to forget Luis and give him a chance. I say, she should try to get to know him better because he seems like a really nice guy---not an abuelo killer or an amnesiac lover. Ceci says she thinks it’s not a good idea for Mario to go out with her since he knows that she’s got feelings for his best friend. Mario says it doesn’t bother him and all he wants is for her to get to know him better. Once she does, she’ll realize that he’s a lot better than Luis (Mario said this, not me, but I do agree).

Frijolito is still hanging around Diego’s. He runs into Bruno (the paparazzi dude). Little Bean says that there is a party going on at Diego’s. He fills Bruno in on all the good things that Diego’s done for the orphanage. He mentions Azulcena, but I didn’t catch if he said that Azul is Azucena. Diego arrives shortly there after, opens the gate and pulls into his compund. Bruno snaps lots of pictures.

Silvana and Manuel are headed to Diego’s. Manuel is going to crash the party, with Silvana’s help. They are just outside the house and Silva spots Little Bean. Manuel grabs him and hauls him in the car. Bruno catches it all on film. Silvana scolds Frijolito for making a call to Diego’s house and for inventing a lie. Frijolito tells her that she knows it is the truth and he’s going to prove it. Silvana says “we’ll see about that.”

Meanwhile, back at the orphanage, the search is on for Frijolito as the nuns realize he’s gone missing.

Silvana has Manuel fork over his wallet and cell phone. She plants them on Frijolito and calls the police. The cops come and believe that Frijolito stole the items from Manuel. Silvana has stooped to a new low, setting up the little orphan boy as a thief. Frijolito gets taken into the cop shop and Manuel goes there to make a declaration against the boy.

At the party--- Efrain and Gasper are trying to tell Tavo that his plan to appear poor to Lidia is a terrible one. Tavo reminds Efrain that the idea was his. Gasper says that Lidia will never forgive Tavo when she learns the truth. Tavo just has to know if she’s marrying him for money or because she’s really in love with him.---Mario thanks Caty for playing cupid for him and Ceci.---Clemi spots Mario getting the flirt on with Ceci and she’s impressed by him.

Silvana goes to enter the house and Bruno (who's been following Silvana & Manuel, taking pictures throughout the whole ordeal w/ Frijolito) approaches her about an exclusive interview. She tells him now is not a good time. She mentions that it is an engagement party, leading Bruno to think that she and Diego will be getting married.

Azulcena has a conversation with her baby. It is obviously one-sided. It is the typical novela happy pregnant woman babble, with a few “who is your daddy?” comments thrown into the mix.

Back at the party, Diego announces to the crowd that Silvana is moving in with him and Caty. Someone proposes a toast. Ceci and Alfredo don’t join in on the well wishes. Tavo officially asks Anibal, Diego and Clemi for Lidia’s hand. Manuel picks this moment to crash and he’s angry that Tavo didn’t ask him for Lidia’s hand (I want to ask, is this the dark ages? do you really need permission?—no, you don’t, so shut your pie whole Manuel!). Manuel makes some rude comments and makes pretty much everyone uncomfortable. Diego tries to get his father to leave. Silvana steps in to save the day. She escorts Manuel outside. Someone makes a toast to Lidia and Tavo’s engagement. This time Ceci and Alfredo join in the well wishes.

Manuel’s peeved that his place in the family has been usurped and no one is showing him the proper respect. Silvana assures him that once she and Diego are married, she’ll make sure that he’s able to restore his proper place in the family. He tells Silvana that he needs money. Silva slips back into the house and grabs some money out of her purse. She tries to be all slick about it, but fails miserably. Her slinking around calls more attention to her actions than if she just walked in and grabbed her purse. Clemi is the only one who spots Silva’s covert operation. She follows Silvana and sees her paying off Manuel. Silvana and Manuel are having a conversation about taking care of Azul, but it seems that Clemi didn’t overhear what they were saying.

Bruno develops his pictures. He's got some good shots of Manuel toting Frijolito to the car. Bruno knows that there is a story behind all of this and he intends to find out what exactly it is.

Clemi confronts Silvana about why she was giving Manuel money. She lists off a long list of Manuel’s misdeeds and adds that Silvana should know how Manuel dupes people. Silvana thinks on her feet and tells Clemi that she paid Manuel off so he wouldn’t provoke more problems for Lidia.

Ceci’s in the kitchen, getting coffee ready for the guests. Silvana comes in, all bent out of shape because she is supposed to be the hostess and she feels that Ceci is treading on her territory. Silvana gives Ceci the “I’m the woman of the house” song and dance. Ceci is like “Whatever I’m getting the coffee to help Clemi (subtext-- the real hostess of tonight’s get together).” Speaking of the rey de roma, Clemi walks in and doesn’t like the exchange she witnesses between the two women. Silva leaves, but stays partially hidden behind a door so she can eavesdrop. Clemi and Ceci trash talk Silvana (just like my grandma used to say “if you are going to listen to others talking, be prepared to hear some things you don’t want to hear”). Clemi comments that it is the second time that day she’s seen Silvana behave poorly toward another person. She adds that Silvana is no longer the same sensible woman she met however long ago (I say, she’s always been a bit of a nut job, but in comparison to the other nuts running around at the beginning of this novela, she was small potatoes—now that Leonarda, Eva, Mo, & Andres are all six feet under, Silvana has free range to wreak havoc). Clemi tells Ceci that Silvana gave Manuel money. Ceci suggests that Clemi let Diego know what she’s witnessed out of Silvana. Clemi says she’s got nothing concrete to tell Diego, it is just woman’s intuition. Men only believe what they see. She’s going to keep her eye on Silvana and if she sees anything that could be harmful to her son or granddaughter, she’ll take action. Silvana is again, impactada. She knows that if yo man’s mama don’t like you, you’re in for some big trouble.

Caty and Diego give Emilia and Alfredo the ugly angel statue as a gift (I just realized that they are regifting). Diego makes some comment about how he and Azul were trying to have a baby. Silvana is once again, impactada. People are gathering to leave. Mario reminds Emilia that he’s going to make arrangements for her to help Azulcena, Luis’s girlfriend with the memory problems (let’s hope that this isn’t another freebee session---Emilia needs to be compensated for her work, she’s a professional for Pete’s sake). Now Silvana is extremely impactada, she’s got to be feeling like her goose is getting cooked, they’re coming at her from all directions.

Azulcena writes in her diary. She misses Luis and decides that if she can’t find baby-daddy, she’s going to marry Luis. That’s right, always have a back up plan.

Bruno interviews Mother Superior about Frijolito. She tells him that there is no way the boy is a thief, he’s just misunderstood.

After everyone else has left, Ceci and Caty are sitting on the steps talking with Mario. Silvana comes in and orders Caty to bed so she can get rid of Mario and Ceci. Silva really makes a scene, which truly displays what a witch she is. I guess the stress of juggling all these lies is finally making her crack. Caty obeys and heads upstairs. Mario & Ceci leave. Silvana follows Caty and tries to talk to her. Caty tells her that she’s mad at her. Silva tries to bribe Caty, who isn’t buying it. Then Silva tries to explain that she’s under stress, there are lots of problems. Caty says, well my tia and I are not to blame so you shouldn’t have taken it out on us (I see that the numerous therapy sessions this child has had must be paying off). Silvana says that tia Ceci is the problem. She tells Caty that Ceci wants to cause problems between Diego and Silvana, because Ceci wants Diego. Caty says “no way”. Silvana says that Azul told her before she died that Ceci was making moves on Diego. Caty says that isn’t true. My goodness, this woman sinks even lower---first framing the orphan and now telling the little moppet that her beloved tia has the hots for her dad. Is there nothing she won’t do in order to capture Diego?

Ceci fills Mario in on Silvana. She’s sure that Silvana is trying to keep her from Caty (if you only knew Ceci, if you only knew). Ceci swears she won’t allow that to happen. Ceci goes on and tells Mario how much she misses Azul. She fills him in on how wonderful her best friend was and how much she misses her. Ceci says she feels all alone and Mario offers her comfort, in his arms. Ceci doesn’t pull away. Yeah!

Silvana calls Manuel and tells him that he’s got to get Azul out of town, muy pronto. Manuel comments that he feels bad about framing the orphan (wow, all the terrible things this man does, and for this he shows remorse). Silvana says getting rid of Azul is crucial and then she tells Manuel that they’ll come out on top once this is over.

Silvana goes and has a conversation with the mirror. She tells herself she needs to get pregnant and then Diego will marry her for sure!

Alfredo is upset with the whole Silvana and Diego living together. He and Emilia have a spat. He throws her psychology background in her face and she makes a dig about him having an affair with his wife’s sister. That shuts him up. He says he doesn’t want to fight and she doesn’t want to fight either. They make up and promise each other that they’ll make sure that their relationship, Emilia’s health and their baby take priority over everything else.

Mario returns Ceci to her apartment. She thanks him for being there for her. He tells her she doesn’t have to feel alone anymore. They flirt some more. This could be the beginning of a wonderful relationship, which I might add poor Ceci deserves.

Silvana makes a move on Diego. He responds at first and then he tells her he can’t. He begs her to not ask him to make love to her. One day he’ll be able to do that because he wants to, but right now it wouldn’t be love-- it would just be instinct. Ouch! Silvana slips out of bed to go talk to her new best friend, the mirror. She asks the mirror “When?” She can’t wait, she’s got to get pregnant to nab her man. Then she thinks about Azul, if Diego finds out she’s alive and expecting his baby she’ll never get him. Then Silvana devises her lowest scheme of the episode---she decides she’s going to steal Azul’s baby once she gives birth (dar la luz). END OF EPISODE.

Amar Sin Limites #110, Wednesday 12-26: Cute and Stupid spawned (which one is which is up to you)

Leftovers: Emilia counsels Diego on his ill-conceived relationship with Silvana: "You may get over Azul, but that doesn't mean you'll fall for Silvana." Silvana attempts to pull rank on Chonita, but gets busted by Clemencia. Frijolito realizes that Azucena is Azul. Smart kid, that.

Clemencia tells Silvana that she has no right to talk to Chonita like that, or to make Clemencia feel unwelcome. She reminds Silvana that this is her son's house, and in exasperation, asks Silvana to admit she was in the wrong. Chonita doesn't stick around, but says she'll get the plates (vajillas) out and let Clemencia decide which ones she wants. Clemencia tells Silvana that because the relationship is informal, Silvana has no right to act like the lady of the manor. Silvana sucks it up and apologizes (and unfortunately, it looks like Clemencia bought it). I was really hoping for a better smackdown than that.

Frijolito thanks God for figuring out that Azucena is Azul and says he's going to tell Diego. God's like, "please do, kid, this has been going on way too long."

In Azulcena's therapy session, she tells her therapist that she's good with kids and that LuisFe thinks that she might have been a psychologist. Azulcena thinks being an actual honest-to-goodness, degreed psychologist is just to lofty for her. The "aw-shucks" persona she's adopted since the amnesia is beginning to wear on me. The therapist says they'll do some tests to see just how knowledgeable about psychology she is and proceed from there. Oh, that would suck, to be subjected to a comprehensive exam AGAIN because you couldn't remember you'd already taken it and passed it. Great, now I have a new nightmare.

LuisFe, Mario, and LuisFe's Mami are having an Azulcena meeting in the hospital cafeteria. Mario struck out at the national psychology association, but he intends to keep trying. "We must find out who she is" blah-blah-blah. LuisFe suggests enlisting Emilia's help and Mario mentions he has an appointment with her today. Yes, please let that be today in show-time, I'm dying over here!

Frijolito busts into MS's study to get Diego's number. Well, in all fairness, I don't think the door was locked, so it's more like he walked in.

GSD fills Emilia in on his meeting with Mario and LuisFe. GSD wants Emilia to help LuisFe's "girlfriend," and she would only be too happy to (since she's probably bored out of her mind). GSD cutely tells Emilia's bump that he's going to give Mommy a kiss and he wants baby to know that he loves baby even with out meeting baby, he's Daddy, and he loves baby. Emilia confirms that of course, baby heard that. It's saved from being sappy by GSD's matter-of-fact tone.

Mario hands over Azulcena's test results and LuisFe LIES and says she just has a stomach infection. Mario's like, whatever and Mami's relieved, but the sound guy knows that LuisFe is a BIG LYING LIAR!

Clemencia and Chonita have been working on dinner. As Clemencia explains to Silvana (who offers to help cook…yeah, right), Day of the Taco is coming (March 31…no, seriously, Google it) and since Lidia and Tavo looooove tacos so much, Clemencia is making tacos with different stewed meats ("guisados"…and a shout out to my nephew's nanny, who made us an excellent beef guisado a few weeks ago when we visited…I'm still dreaming about that guisado…what? Oh, right, recapping….) for dinner. Silvana's like, "oh, that's nice (not!)." The phone rings and Silvana makes a grab for it. I can't decide if Clemencia's being catty when she answers the phone "Diego Moran's house," but I'd like it if she were. Frijolito is on the other end, covering the phone's mouthpiece with his shirt and trying to make his voice deeper. He says he's a friend of Diego and has to talk to him because he knows where Azul is. He hangs up and Clemencia freaks out. Commercials. Silvana sits her down and gets her one of her heart pills. Clemencia passes on the message (no! don't do that!) that someone knows where Azul is.

Frijolito kneels in front of the Virgen just as MS comes into her office. He tells MS he wanted to talk to her and asks what would happen if he know who Azucena really was. MS, of course, can't imagine why he would and so assumes he's lying and forbids him to speak of it again, and especially not to Azulcena. Frijolito is dismissed. As he leaves, I notice the cross on the wall…isn't it the same one that used to hang on Leo's wall? Frijolito debates telling Azulcena anyway. MS suspects that Frijolito called someone on the phone.

Silvana talks Clemencia into not telling Diego. Clemencia, unfortunately, doesn't catch the subtext and buys into Silvana's arguments (Diego will only get his hopes up, we already have proof that she's dead, etc.) for not telling Diego.

Emilia breaks it to GSD that Silvana has moved into Diego's house. GSD acknowledges that Diego's young, but he's also a bit surprised that this happened so soon. GSD, of course can't complain too much since he was sleeping with Inés before his wife was dead. Mr. 5ft pointed out that he also jumped from Inés to Emilia pretty quickly. GSD seems kind of sad, but resigned.

Frijolito jumps the orphanage wall and heads out to make some cash for the phone.

Azulcena fills LuisFe in on her latest therapy appointment (which apparently happened in the hospital). LuisFe tells her that Mario had no luck at the national psych organization. He babbles about her "essence" being the same whether she knows who she is or not. Yep, she's still a twit, just in a different way. What? You were thinking it too. Azulcena tries to get him to agree to run off with her (and again, they're playing Todo Cambió…if I ever get my hands on the person who made that decision….), but LuisFe won't do it. LuisFe breaks the news that Azulcena is pregnant. And yes, it should be noted that "embarazada" means "pregnant" NOT "embarrassed!" Commercials. Azulcena is impactada. She extrapolates that she must be married and ponders who the baby-daddy is. LuisFe offers that if she never does find the baby-daddy, he'll give the baby his name. Azulcena thanks him for his support (but not in a Bartles & Jaymes way).

Ceci and Caty come skipping down the hospital corridor. Caty kept Mario's cell phone, and she just now told Ceci. Caty quite reasonably points out that it's not all her fault, since Mario forgot to ask for it back. Ceci gets Caty to agree that she won't accidentally hold on to something that's not hers again. Ceci says that Caty will now have to make her apologies to Mario. Caty carries this a step further and says they'll need to invite Mario out for ice cream so he won't be mad at them. She's a dead-eyed little moppet, but she sure did inherit Daddy's ability to scheme. Ceci doesn't think Mario will be able to, but Caty thinks Mario will want to skip out on work (irse de pinta).

Silvana *69s and find out the call came from the orphanage. She is Seriously. Freaked. Out.

Frijolito helps a lady carry grocery bags to her car for phone money. I know the Mexican economy's not great, but how many bags of groceries is this kid going to have to carry to make enough money for one phone call?

LuisFe and Azulcena are still sitting in one of the hospital's waiting areas, talking about the pregnancy. He lets her know that he lied to Mami and Mario because he wanted her to have the news first. He says they're going to have to tell Mami and MS so that Azulcena can get the care she needs. Azulcena thanks him for taking care of her…with a kiss…which Ceci and Caty walk in on. Come on, Ceci, you're a born metiche, stick around and see who he's kissing! But nooooo, Ceci leaves with Caty. LuisFe says if they could leave everything behind, he'd love to start all over with her, get married, etc. Azulcena says that's no longer possible. LuisFe is sad, but he says that's why he wanted to let her know, before she made any decisions. Azulcena says that the baby is a reminder that she has a past and that the baby-daddy is part of her past. She doesn't know if she was married or not, or what happened to him, but if she hadn't loved him will all her strength, she wouldn't have wanted to have his baby. Interesting logic.

At the boutique, Diego avoids giving Bruno an interview. Bruno being the journalist (and I use that term loosely) who broke the news of Diego and Silvana's supposed relationship.

Clemi tries a bit of guisado before letting Chonita know whether she should turn down the heat. Silvana comes in, back in her dress from earlier, and says she's got to go out. She offers for Clemi to just order out, but Clemi says she's almost done with the guisados (mmmmm, guisado) for the tacos. As Silvana walks out of the house her phone rings. It's Bruno and Silvana tells him that Diego's not going to give anybody an interview since he's upset about the news of their (gag) relationship showing up in the paper. She says she'll meet him in two hours outside Diego's house and give him an exclusive. Oh, please let them get busted by Diego.

Tavo and Efrain talk about Tavo's plan to make Lidia think she's marrying a poor man. Efrain doesn't think it's a good idea, but Tavo still has his doubts and has to be sure. Efrain quite reasonably points out that there's no sense in working so much if one isn't planning to share it with family. Tavo's still stuck on needing to know that she's not marrying him for his money. I agree with Efrain that this whole stunt could end the relationship. Except that this is Telenovelaland, so probably not, but Lidia will be in a right snit for a while and Tavo will have to make it up to her.

Sounds like Lidia has been working for Anibal lately. She's selling health insurance for plastic surgery, which Anibal points out works sort of like a low-interest loan. Lidia is planning to make a presentation to Silvana at dinner so that Silvana can point her in the direction of some models who might be interested in buying the insurance. Sounds like a decent business plan, that, except for the part where Silvana is involved. Anibal wonders why Lidia is trying to make so much money so quickly and Lidia says it's so that Tavo doesn't have to pay for the whole wedding. Plus, she's taking her mom's advice that a woman's got to have a little money of her own stashed away for a rainy day…or for the day you find out husband #1 is a sleazebag, whichever. Lidia's grateful to Anibal for teaching her about the value of hard work and is sorry that Manuel wasn't the one who taught her.

Frijolito has made it to Diego's house and from across the street, he watches Ceci and Caty walk in.

Ceci comes into the kitchen crying over seeing LuisFe kissing a girl. Frijolito rings the doorbell and asks to speak to Diego, but he has to contend with Caty. Caty won't let him in and thinks that Frijolito wants to get Diego to agree to send Caty to the orphanage. Frijolito throws his hands up and exclaims "women!" He plans to wait for Diego to show up.

Silvana is yelling at MS for the call. MS gives up Frijolito, which, HEY! She doesn't actually know she did it (although she tells Silvana she caught him doing it). MS tells Silvana that Frijolito said he knew who Azulcena was, although she thinks he's just making it up to get attention. Silvana demands to speak to "the little lentil" (lentejita) right away. Right then, LuisFe, Azulcena, and Mami walk up.

Ceci whines about running into LuisFe kissing his girlfriend and that she's probably going to be running into him even more now that he's going to be helping with Emilia's pregnancy. Clemencia says that one of two things will happen: either she'll keep running into LuisFe, or she'll end up liking Mario. Ceci doesn't think the second is likely. Clemencia points out that going out with Mario, his best friend, might look like she's just trying to be near LuisFe. That actually looks like she made Ceci seriously consider it.

Back in her room, hundreds of dolls watch as Caty calls Mario. He's like, "hey, I thought you were going to get Ceci to return my phone." Caty says that Ceci started crying at the hospital and told Clemencia that it was because she saw LuisFe kissing his girlfriend. Mario's kicking himself for not realizing that was a possibility. Caty invites him over to the house to pick up his cell phone.

Silvana listens at MS' door as LuisFe breaks the news that Azulcena is pregnant to MS and Mami. MS immediately starts praying. Mami assumes it's LuisFe's and says she's embarassed (avergonzada) to be his mother. She's upset that they carried on, even after she asked them not to, and in a convent, no less! Azulcena tries to stick up for him, but Mami doesn't want to hear any more. She asks if LuisFe is going to be so shameless (desvergonzado) as to deny that Azulcena's baby is his. LuisFe says he's not going to deny it. Azulcena looks shocked and Mami leaves, refusing to talk about it any further.

Frijolito watches as GSD and Emilia, and Mario show up at the house for dinner.

MS kicks Azulcena out of the orphanage for screwing around. She can't let her stick around corrupting innocent kids. Well, this is stupid! Why is LuisFe lying in such a damaging way? And why is Azulcena letting him?

Emilia, GSD, and Mario come into the living room and greet everybody. Ceci looks suspicious. Ooh, ooh, Mr. 5ft is hoping Mario will see a picture of Azulcena, but of course, we're not going to get that lucky. The occasion for the party is so that Tavo can ask Diego for Lidia's hand. Mario gets his cell phone back from Caty and makes to leave, but Clemencia makes him stay for tacos.

Back in Azulcena's room, she packs her meager belongings into a plastic bag and asks why LuisFe lied. He says he lied for Azulcena's benefit. We're both confused. LuisFe says that this way, if she doesn’t find the baby-daddy before the baby's born, they can just keep saying it's LuisFe's. Silvana listens at the door for this conversation as well. Azulcena keeps saying that regardless of what happened to baby-daddy, things just aren't going to work out with her and LuisFe. At least not until she gets her memory back. LuisFe's going to ask Mario to let Azulcena stay there for the night while Mario stays at his parents' house. Azulcena wants to talk to Frijolito before she leaves and LuisFe goes to find him. He runs into Silvana in the hallway and lets her into Azulcena's room.

Mario and Ceci go for a walk in the yard while Mario lets Ceci know that he's already been informed that Ceci saw Azulcena and LuisFe kissing. Mario boosts her ego and tells her she can't keep wasting her time on LuisFe. Azulcena is the only woman LuisFe has lost his head over like this.

Azulcena tells Silvana that she's been kicked out and that the baby's not LuisFe's. They never did it. Seriously? Even the time they went skinny-dipping? Silvana is impactada and thought bubbles that since the baby is Diego's now she's really going to have to get rid of Azulcena once and for all. Silvana says she's crying because she's thinking about how the baby will grow up without a father. Silvana says that if Azulcena can't find a place to stay, Silvana will take her somewhere (and drop her off a proper cliff this time).

Tomorrow: Silvana and Manuel plot and Bruno takes a picture of them.
