Pasion Friday Dec 7 - Pirate Island

I know I intended to have this up last night, but life intervened once again. I hope Sundays are usually ok with all of you. I’m enjoying the show so far, but as usual with any new show, I stress big time about remembering everyone’s name. Here goes.

I’ll start with Santiago vowing to kill Don Jorge. He has been asleep for over a week, there’s no way he could just start eating regular food right away, is there? I see from Ofelia that even hundreds of years ago women painted on their eyebrows.

UGH right away on the ship we see a huge rat. One of the pirates comes down to retrieve the two boys, somebody up top wants to see them. First mate (I can’t figure out his name-edit:turns out his name is Mario but that's a little too Nintendo so I'll stick with First Mate if that's ok) says he doesn’t want to return them to their cousin, who might kill them, but the boys don’t have what it takes to live as pirates. The boys are brought in. Antillano tells them he has two choices: he can buy their freedom and send them home to their mother, but if the rumors of their cousin are true, they might end up dead. Or, they can stay on and learn to be pirates. Well, Antillano says, there is one more choice – he can sell them when they get to La Mariana. It might not be too bad, someone might just want them as servants, but some depraved person might want to use them like women. The boys shudder at the thought. They want to think about the other two choices, Antillano says fine. On the way out, the older boy tells Antillano that he doesn’t look like a pirate, he looks like he comes from a good family, like is a Senor. He rambles on and on before first mate shuts him up and sends him out. First mate tells Antillano that he’s screwing up the negotiations, first he likes one of the women and now he’s giving the kids choices, he’s going to mess it up. Antillano says he isn’t going to mess it up. First mate goes on and on a bit about how much trouble having a woman around would be. He tells Antillano that above all, they have a contract to deliver people to La Mariana and they have to do it. First mate keeps referring to ‘Foreman’, who must be their boss. What a weird name. He says that Foreman won’t just yell at them if they mess it up, they might find themselves dead somewhere in the morning. Antillano seems to agree.

Storms. All the pirates rush around to ready the ship for the coming tormenta. The prisoners down below are thrown about as the ship rocks back and forth, as well as getting flooded by water raining down on them. Camila whines that the storm is a blessing, to kill them so they don’t have to live as slaves. Jimena tells her to not be stupid. Camila says it’s true, she is going to be reunited with her Santiago! Whatever. The seasick prisoners throwing up agree with me on that. Her talk about Santiago reminds me of Miranda mooning over Fabricio at the beginning of Heridas de Amor, which was a sure sign that they WOULDN’T be together. I suspect the same here. More yelling up top as they sail through the storm. Camila whines some more. She is a HUGE whiner. I know her fiancé was almost killed and she had to get naked with creepy Don Jorge and she was kidnapped and she’s in the bottom of a ship with a pig and rats and was raped by a pirate, but jeez, quit your whining. Camila chooses this time, for some reason, to tell Jimena the story of her and Santiago. Jimena tells her that as long as they are alive, there is hope. I say as long as you are in a novella and not in real life, there is hope.

As the storm rages on, I giggle when I keep hearing the squeals of pigs. Nice of them to get that detail in there. The ship is getting a LOT of water on the deck now, pirates are being thrown left and right. Finally they give up trying to steer or stow materials and Antillano orders everyone to get below. When they get there, Antillano decides that his shirt is too wet and takes it off. I hope all you ladies were watching. This time you didn’t have to wait six months for him to take his shirt off like in Alborada, and this time we don’t have his best friend Felipe checking him out like he wants him. Antillano collapses on his bed.

Back in San Fernando, Justo and Vasco are having a meal together. Justo tells Vasco that he needs to get more involved in running the business, when Justo dies it will be Vasco’s. Something got screwed up and Vasco says it wasn’t his fault. Ofelia runs up to tell them that Santiago woke up and asked for Camila. They all look worried.

They go see Dona Sofia and explain that they lied to Santiago, Sofia says they should tel him that Camila decided to be a nun, one that can’t see visitors or anything. Ofelia says that won’t work. Justo says they’ll have to tell him the truth. Ofelia thinks he’ll go nuts, he already says he’ll kill Don Jorge. Sofia says she doesn’t care what happens to Jorge, he deserves it. Sofia says they need some story that Santiago will believe. And what bad luck that Santiago disappeared for four years and now Camila disappears!

Justo looks through Camila’s room, Rita wants to know what he’s looking for. He says something of Camila’s to show Santiago. He finds a shoe and scarf and tells Rita to get them dirty, they are going to tell Santiago that she had an accident and died. What an ass. They all waited four years for Santiago, but after 10 days they give Camila up for dead? And if they tell him the truth and he tries to find her, so what? Let him go! Maybe he’ll cry and cry until she shows up. Vasco tells his buddy the same plan.

The doctor says it’s a miracle that Santiago survived. Santiago says he can’t move. The doctor is about to tell him he’s paralyzed, but Ofelia makes up something about needing time before he can move again. Outside the room the doctor tells her off for it, but then decides whatever. Outside, everyone gathers to come in and tell Santiago the lie about Camila dying in the river. Rita can’t keep herself from gushing over him when she comes in. Santiago asks if they have sent for Camila yet. Ofelia says it was her fault, she sent her to the river to get some leeches, she doesn’t know what happened, she never came back. Wait – that’s the truth. What about their crazy scheme? Here it is, they produce a dirty scarf for Santiago to hold and cry over. Which he does. A lot. Everybody gets all teary, big cry-fest. They tell Santiago “well she’s dead, deal with it, let’s move on.” Santiago says no way dudes, this sucks, I won’t just accept it. He verifies with them that they didn’t find a body. He says it’s all Don Jorge’s fault. He swears vengeance yet again. Rita says to forget that, if he does something he’ll get locked up, think of his sister and mother! He doesn’t care. He says Jorge deserves to die, we get an impactado/zoom in on Ofelia. Obviously we know there is something about her/Santiago/Don Jorge that just hasn’t been brought up yet. I guess it isn’t even a secret, it was in the synopsis, right? After the commercial, Santiago cries some more. Ofelia says it is as God wants, he says no. He flashes back to Camila giving him that scarf way back when again. Ofelia tries to turn him away from seeking vengeance. Let time pass, it will all be ok, etc etc. Meanwhile you can’t move your legs, but whatever. He swears that Camila will always be the only woman for him. He asks her again why he can’t move his legs. She can’t lie to him looking in the eye, so she starts picking up around the room while she lies to him. Finally she admits that the doctor says he won’t walk again. He rants on that he has a mission, he has to walk again.

Calm seas. The captain has given permission to leave the cargo hold, the prisoners all go up top and get doused with fresh water. I guess that’s the only bath they get. They are all tied to one of the other prisoners, so they shuffle around in twos. Camila and Jimena discuss the storm and captain Antillano, Jimena thinks he isn’t so bad if he offered to pay for the kids’ freedom. He’d be sending them to death back home, but I guess he’s so great for offering that. Whatever. They just think he’s cute I’m sure. The prisoners keep shuffling around in a circle and getting water thrown on them. Jimena notices Antillano staring at Camila. Jimena tells her to try and seduce the captain. Camila whines that she can’t do that, she has to save herself for Santiago. Cripes, another helpless heroine. Jimena says whatever, he might be dead anyway. Camila tells her to shut her mouth.

Antillano and First mate discuss the lovely ladies, who look far from lovely covered in dirt. Antillano greets the ladies. He tries to wipe some dirt off of Camila, she grabs the towel in her mouth and spits it on the floor. He says fine, then, be that way and he walks away. Jimena reads Camila the riot act for screwing that up so bad. Camila, who is starting to piss me off, gets all high and mighty and says whatever.

The boys tell Antillano that they decided that they want to go back home, not become pirates, so Antillano says fine. He’ll pay for their freedom, but then it’s up to them to find their own way home. There’s no way they’ll make it home, I guarantee it. Anyway, the boys are very happy. They ask about Camila, Antillano says it appears that she isn’t interested in his help.

Isla La Mariana – obviously the slave trading hub. Lots and lots of people tied up and tied together all over the place. I guess this is how things were back in the days of slavery. Camila looks back at Antillano, who has stayed on the ship. He looks at her too. I think she might be regretting being such a bitch. Somebody inspects the prisoners one by one, then hands First Mate a bag of gold. First Mate hands the rope holding the prisoners over to the buyer. As First Mate walks back to the ship, some guy right in front of the camera, wearing a red bandanna, is digging for gold up his nose. Finding something he likes, he pops it into his mouth right before the camera cuts away. Mrs. Ferro just about hurled her dinner up from that one. Of course we had to call Hijo in from the other room to see that part, he thought it was pretty funny. First Mate delivers the gold to Antillano. I guess the buyer was just the auctioneer or something, tomorrow will be the open auction for all of the slaves, tomorrow Antillano will pay for the kids so he can set them free. First Mate asks if he is going to buy the women too. He says no. First Mate is looking forward to a free night tonight, Antillano says they are leaving at noon tomorrow, anyone who isn’t back on board gets left behind.

The slaves are led to a holding cell, the guy yells at them to clean the bugs off and food will be brought later, this is where they will spend the night. The ladies rush to the water in the corner and wash up.

A mysterious hooded figure approaches a building and knocks, it is Ricardo Antillano. Some old guy opens the door. Antillano tells him that he’s glad La Mariana belongs to the French because he’s in less danger, but his mom still worries about him. I’m not sure what this place is, a church or a monastery or something? Antillano is dressed like a monk. He tells the guy to ‘tell her’ – whatever this place is, his mother is here. I was expecting to see Dona Juana but it’s some other woman. Her name is Mercedes. She is very happy to see him, as is Lisabeta, a young woman there, maybe it is his sister. Mercedes says it has been so long since she saw him, he says it has been a month. He can only stay this one night, then he has to leave again.

The next morning he has breakfast with his mother. He says he is going to see his godfather and find out the details of Spain giving the island over to the French.

The slave market is an ugly scene. All the people for sale look like hell, they all seem as if they have been in a ship for a week.

Lisabeta is apparently blind, she is being helped to breakfast by a servant and has a cane. Mercedes says that Lisabeta is the only one who visits her. The conversation leads me to believe that Antillano has been accused of something and everyone believes he is guilty except for his mother and Lisabeta. I think Lisabeta may be the daughter of Antillano’s godfather, or maybe his cousin, we don’t know yet. Lisabeta says something about being ‘his only heir’ and turning out to be a woman and blind. She must be referring to her father, who is maybe Antillano’s uncle? I hope this gets sorted out soon because I’m confused.

Camila comes up for sale. She yells to the crowd that she was kidnapped, the auctioneer punches her to shut her up. He moves on to sell one of the other women, letting Camila watch. On the street Antillano and First Mate confirm that Lazaro has the money to buy the kids. Antillano has his monk costume on, when he and First Mate separate they go through a mock ‘blessing’ to keep up disguises. It’s funny. At a door, Antillano tells the guard that he is Fray Diego de Lujan, looking for Don Gaspar de Valdez. That must be his padrino.

Jimena comes up for sale. Lazaro looks on, so far he hasn’t done anything.

Don Gaspar tells Antillano that the French have not granted clemency or freedom to any of the previously accused outlaws from Spanish rule, so he is still accused of whatever it is he has been accused of. He says “I didn’t kill that woman!” Don Gaspar tells him whatever, but they have to ask for a special pardon or whatever, but meanwhile he has a price on his head. Not only for murder, but also for piracy. Antillano says he has no option. Don Gaspar asks if he works for John Foreman, Antillano says yes. DG asks why he doesn’t retire, change his name, go somewhere neutral and open up a business? Antillano says he doesn’t have enough money for that. I guess Foreman owns the boat, not Antillano. Don Gaspar says the war will be over soon enough.

Some guy bought Jimena I guess, he takes her away. Camila looks on in horror. Now the boys are up for sale, they are a big deal because they can read and write. Jimena waves at Camila as her carriage rides away. For whatever reason, Lazaro is NOT stepping up to pay for them. We don’t know why, though, since that’s the end of today’s show.

Monday – Antillano says he is going to buy the women and leave them as servants for his mother, so when he goes back to Mexico he can take her home.

I Love Juan - Fri 12/7 - In which Juan gets a job with a uniform, if shorts count as a uniform. Thank you Santa!!

Hola Amigos, I am filling in for Schoolmarm Jeanne whom I owe big time. Last time she subbed for me she got stuck with a 2-hour episode!

Well, I never did hear the answer to Angarita's question from Thursday, "How are things at the Cachón house?" but we will find out and them some. Before we get to that, let's check in with Monica...

Moni tells her ex-maid Chelo that she needs a pair of eyes in CL's home to keep her apprised of the state of his marriage. Chelo balks, she's not sure she's up to the challenge plus CL knows she and Moni are like fingernails and dirt, i.e. thick as thieves. Does Moni give up? Hell no. Chelo finally admits she's mad at CL for his treatment of Moni and would like to teach those dirty bums a lesson. Monica lays out her plan.

Angarita paces the marketplace and finally picks up the phone. Nidia answers but calls him 'Anita' because Delirio is in the room. Anga tells Nidia he has to see her. Nidia tells 'Anita' she'll see 'her' soon. When Delirio tries to interrogate her Nidia tells him the call was from her lover and she's on her way to put the horns on Delirio...sheesh!

Chelo visits CL at work and pitifully begs for her job back. He rehires her on the spot. She waggles her eyebrow impishly; he took the bait!

Monica threatens Ivonne that the only reason she's still at Farell is so she can sabotage CL's marriage. Moni wants results and soon!

Nidia shows up at Ana's place wearing hideous Dame Edna type sunglasses and dressed for seduction. She's on her way to visit Angarita but she told Delirio she had a class with Ana so here she is. Ana frowns in disapproval (as usual) but Nidia begs her to understand, with Angarita all her defenses fall to the floor. Nidia hefts and struts her stuff, she's on the verge of grandmotherhood and this may be her last chance to boogie. Nidia wants Ana to be her companion in adventure (she uses 'aventura' which means 'adventure' but also 'affair'). Ana the terminal wet blanket says no way, she wants to be left alone. Nidia responds that Ana's attitude is her very problem; Ana needs heat, aventuras, men...and, well, Nidia needs to use Ana as her front.

Paula welcomes Chelo to the house and, using her pea brain for once, asks Chelo if she can cook.

Nidia, disguised in her Dame Edna glasses that completely draw attention to her, arrives at the market. She runs into Yadira, eating as usual. Yadi scolds Nidia and asks why she's there. "I called her," answers Angarita as we walks up from behind, "we have important business to discuss." Yadi blows a gasket and Kike tries to calm her by reminding her that it's Don Anga who feeds them.

Alone among the bananas Angarita tells Nidia he has a proposition. "Decent, or indecent?" she asks hopefully. "Decent," he responds, "do you want to work here with me?" He claims he needs a personal assistant. (I like these two, they're cute; kind of flirty and kind of shy.) Nidia plays hard to get, says she's busy with her art classes. She suggests he offered her the job just so she could be close to him.

Yadira, between forkfuls of chilis rellenos, tells Kike she's going to tell 'that lady' (her ma) three truths...three!!! Kike says she doesn't know Don Anga, he's a good guy, don't jump to conclusions. "What conclusions?" demands Yadi, "Did you see Ma's face when she saw that old fart?" Kike calms her down and reminds her that Nidia Cachón does what she wants. Yadi mutters she won't stand by with crossed arms; after all, she's a Cachón and a half!

Angarita strolls up and Yadi demands to know what he wants with her ma? Angarita says she's in the office considering his proposition. "What, to be your lover?" she shrieks. Angarita starts to respond but Yadi hauls off and slaps him.

A horrified Kike separates them. Angarita calmly tells Yadira that he offered Nidia a job. Yadi scoffs and accuses. Angarita coolly tells her she doesn't know him but he's known her mother for a long time and he would never, ever propose anything indecent to her. He tells Yadi he's not the second course and as long as Nidia is married they'll never be anything but good friends. "And if she weren't married?" challenges Yadi. Angarita admits it would be a different story. He tells her that Nidia is the only woman he's ever loved, he's adored her all his life but he won't share her with anyone. Yadi is open-mouthed impactada and for once has nothing to say.

Yadi and Angarita are face to face...same chiseled cheekbones, same pointy chins, same triangular faces...I swear he almost calls her mija. But no, he touches her face and tells her she's just like Nidia was when she was Yadi's age. She has the same look, the same temperament.

Nidia is back at Ana's chowing down on a big plate of spaghetti. Ana thinks a job is a great idea. Nidia doesn't agree. She plans to make herself scarce thus driving Angarita crazy with desire; after just a few days of suffering he will arrive to abduct her from her home! Ana tells Nidia she watches too much TV.

Kike and Yadi discuss the Nidia and Angarita job situation. Clearly Nidia's nuts for him and as flirty as she is they'd be corrupted in no time. Kike says Nidia should tell Delirio the truth and marry Angarita. Yadi, between mouthfuls of tacos with guacamole, insists her ma is too old-fashioned for divorce. Kike almost falls over laughing.

At Casa Cachón Nidia excercises by doing 2 oz. curls with a male model magazine. Delirio arrives with a surprise. This poor dude is like the energizer bunny, he just keeps going and going no matter how many time he pisses Nidia off. This time he's got a bouquet of gardenias (they look like roses to me and anyway who ever heard of gardenias in a bouquet?). He says they have the house all to themselves and it's time for him to 'cut a beautiful flower from the garden' so to speak. She accuses him of drinking, they need to talk, Don Angarita offered her a job. Delirio snorts like an angry bull.

Moni and Marely are working late. Moni sighs that they need help, apparently she's not as efficient as Paula Davila. She asks Mari to peek and see if CL is still in his office.

Delirio goes on a tirade about Nidia working for that common laborer, none other than her lover! Nida shouts for him to get his mind out of the garbage. He has no right to offend a woman's integrity. She whaps him with a pillow and stomps off in a huff.

Moni pays CL an office visit. She pours them both a whiskey and happily observes that he's working rather late for a newlywed. Are there problems? He tells her she's the last person he'd confide in. She sits on his desk and crosses her shapely legs, "Haven't these past few months working together demonstrated that I'm truly concerned for you?" said the spider to the fly.

Paula sits at home literally twiddling her thumbs. (What, she can't go out and get her own job?) Chelo shuffles around pretending to dust. She asks Paula does CL always work so late? Isn't she worried? "About what?" asks Paula. Chelo gets her stupid/innocent look and says "Well you know what they say, this office will never lack the alligators who want to steal your husband. Oh gosh, sorry, I blab too much. You're a newlywed and have nothing to worry about." She scuttles off, satisfied with her dusting. Paula calls CL but when he answers she refuses to speak.

"Hello? Hello?" CL hangs up. "A mudo (mute)," aks Moni, "or a muda? Perhaps a worried wife whose husband hasn't come home?" she enquires gleefuly. CL leaves in a snit, commenting that he doesn't care to hear her monologue. "Hope you fix your problems," she happily shouts at his back.

Nidia, now locked in the office, drinks tequila while Delirio pounds on the door. He sets up camp outside the door and yells that he refuses to leave.

Yadi and Kike get home and wonder what all the ruckus is about. They try their hands at luring Nidia out but she announces she won't come out until Delirio leaves. Delirio retorts he won't leave until she comes out. Uh oh, it looks like Nidia is toasted. Her eyes roll back in her head and kerplunk, she falls over.

Yadi, Kike and Delirio hear Nidia's clunk and Delirio tells them to stand back, he'll break the door down. What happens next is a complete surprise of course (NOT). As Delirio backs up for a running start Nidia awakens and decides to open the door...Delirio flies through and crashes into the office.

CL arrives home to a darkened apartment. Paula, still up, offers to make him dinner. Even though he's probably starving he wisely refuses. Paula admits she called the office but didn't speak because she didn't want to bother him. They hug and make worried telenovela faces behind each other's backs.

Moni and her gal pal gossip about CL, he regularly works late but so far has not succumbed to Ivonne's temptations. Luckily stupid Paula hired Chelo who is Moni's spy. The friend (can't remember her name) is concerned that Moni is preoccupied with vengeance. She may end up hurting herself more. Moni vows she'll do whatever it takes to make them pay.

Marely has come home. Nidia is now locked in her bathroom feeling ill and the rest of the family, including Delirio with ice pack to head, stands vigil outside the door. Nidia finally comes out and announces she hurts all over, it's a problem with her bile she says, glaring at Delirio. She can't look at Delirio because he's the one who makes her sick. The girls and Kike kick Delirio out of the room.

"Ma, are you sure it's only Perafan who's making you sick?" the girls ask. "Of course," Nidia scoffs, fanning herself, "what else could it be?" (Editor's note: A big collective Uh Oh.)

Kike helps Delirio make up the bed in the spare room. Kike reminds him it's Juans old room; he reminisces about his soul brother, he expects him to come through the door at any moment with his little dance steps and his wonderful boots. Delirio pooh poohs Juan but Kike insists that Juan is sorely missed. He was at the helm of the family and if he were here he could keep Nidia in line. Delirio sadly admits that Kike is probably right.

Cut to Juan sitting on the beach. It's night and he stares out to sea. A hunky dude approaches and asks if Juan is thinking about a woman. Juan replies he's looking for work. "Dude, you have so come to the right place," replies the hunk, "tons of lady tourists come here alone, we'll pay you well, you can live next to the beach and all the food is free!" Juan is happy once again, where does he sign up? The hunk asks Juan if he speaks English. Juan fibs of course, and when the hunk tries to speak English to him Juan replies he knows many phrases regarding the hips (he shakes his), dancing, music, love and the sea, and these phrases are understood perfectly by the women of all five continents. (What, no women on continents #6 and #7 Juan?) The hunk, equally bad at geography, says the job is Juan's.
NOTE: Looks like this recapper was a little premature with her know-it-all attitude of geography. Upon further research "los cinco continentes" refers to Europe, Asia, Africa, America and Oceania. So within this definition North and South America are one America and Antarctica doesn't count. Sorry Juanito!

Bright and early the next morning Delirio wakes Kike, Nidia has gone, the shameless cínica! "To the clínica?" asks a sleepy Kike. "No, she's a cínica," corrects Delirio, "she's not in the house and was gone before sunrise." Kike is impactado, presumably because Nidia likes to sleep in.

Nidia arrives at Ana's house and is in a complete dither. She says all hell broke loose at Casa Cachón. "Delirio has a problem? Did you kill him with an ax?" asks Ana. "No, worse, much worse," cries Nidia, "I'm...I'm...pregnant!" Ana is hand-to-forehead impactada.

The hunk whose name is Hector I think, is looking mighty fine in his uniform of tank top, red shorts and shark's tooth necklace. Something tells me Juan will fit right in. Bikini clad girls stroll the grounds. Hector shows Juan around and describes his job; during the day Juan will help organize games, at night he must be attentive to the guests. Also, Juan should be on hand to help teach swimming. "Uh oh," gulps Juan. Turns out Juan doesn't know how to swim, which he actually admits.

As CL gets ready for work Paula announces she intends to look for a new job. (Good girl!!) Cl is incredulous. He tells her he had other plans, he thought he, and she...could have a child. Paula is impactada and not in a good way. We are reminded that any resemblance to real life is purely coincidental.

Monday - Juan looks HOT wearing his new uniform of red swim trunks. Guess he got the job (big surprise). He calls Marely. Every is happy to know Juan is OK, everybody except CL that is.

Amar Sin Limites- Fri.12/7/07-Tus Modelos, Señor - Lite Beer, Lite Plots

A personal aside: I cannot figure out how this show will last several more weeks. But that's the rumor. So here goes. I have looked for the Thursday recap without finding it so briefly, our beloved tialovingabuelokiller, aka Andres has been arrested and confessed to killing Paco, Diego's abuelo, Leonarda and when Mauricio's lawyer implies that Andres is also saying he worked alone, he looks lovingly at Ceci through the bars and says no Mauricio ordered him to do all of it. The hideous death of Mo's first wife and Caty's little friend and son of Silvana, Nicholas has been reviewed too many times but Caty finally remembers all of it. We know too that Mauricio gets into Andres' cell some mysterious way and strangles him.

So tonight we flash back to Mauricio meeting his lawyer in a dusty field or parking lot and checking over three passports which his lawyer has just handed to him. At that moment police surround them with awesome looking guns and rifles and shout to make themselves noticed. Mauricio drops the passports and hides behind the lawyer (silly boy, lawyers are never good shields). The lawyer takes on lots of lead and falls aside and the bullets can then penetrate Mo until he too slowly falls to the ground. They don't show the strangling of our beloved Andres again (be thankful for that Andres fans).

At the cemetary we encounter Clemencia. Lidia, Silvana and Anibal. Clemencia says that it is already the 3 month anniversary since her father died and she wanted to pay a visit to the grave. They made a quick trip from the office (feeling somehow she has to explain hanging out with Anibal at so many places.) Silvana is there to tend to Nico's grave and Anibal is looking after Paco but also adds that poor Andres' grave is forgotten with no one to look after it. Thanks to his confessions the other deaths have been all revealed but will have their accounting with God. (So will Andres!).

Ceci and Arnaldo are chatting on a couch summing up the end of the horrible events. Arnaldo teases Ceci that she isn't a crazy as before and now she can get on with her life. He will always be her bodyguard (police). She's thrilled to bits. She says he is a man of little faith. She now has her serious career. The phone suddenly rings and she flirts with the caller about a meeting. It turns out to be the handsome Luis Philipe from the award ceremony where GSD received his Science Prize yesterday.

Anibal and Isela sit on a park bench. They are discussing his proposal of marriage. As she hesitates he suggests she doesn't love him enough. Anibal is experimenting but Isela points out that he is experimenting but not experimenting with her (guess she means Clemencia, the only other mature woman getting lots of action). We have hesitated to tell each other. We got together to avoid being lonely. Anibal says the magic is all over. This was supposed to be the love of his life. Isela says, she wanted to love him with all of her being but just couldn't. (They say all of this with such calm voices, it was kind of scary). He actually thanks her for her sincerity and says he wants to ask her something but the scene ends...

Azul is telling Diego that she is still scared even though Mo can't get to him now that he's killed Andres, he's not getting lose anytime soon. They are dressed up and waiting for Caty to come through a door with a social worker type. Diego asks if Azul thinks Caty will accept him since he is responsible for putting Mauricio in jail. He was such a delinquent and needed to be put there. They agree that Caty is such an innocent. Caty comes toward them and runs to hug Azul saying are you getting me out of here? Yes, you are coming with me forever. Diego gets down on a knee and asks Caty if she would like it if she came to live with him and Azul. She shrieks yes, yes. She says Mo was a bad person, and Diego rescued her and Azul when Mo was going to take them far away. She adds that Diego is a good person.

Ceci gets her coffee date with Dr. Dreamy, Luis Philipe. They joke about the drink he spilled on her at the Science Guy event and he wonders about the stained dress. I like you, I like you, I wasn't checking up on the dress just a pretext. [Sure, sure] We needed to see each other again to see if anything happens. He admits he is very interested in the cure GSD found and admires his work. Dreamy himself is a pediatric doctor with a subspecialty in neonatalogy and then has to explain to Ceci that it means he takes care of recently born babies. He wonders why she was at the medical event and she claims she is so interested in the discovery of GSD especially because it cured her best friend Azul. He asks her what she does study or work. Oh, I am a Model! I am in a fashion show soon and want you to come.

Diego is listening to his father Manuel do his best "pobre de mi" act. I have no money, no place to live , no hope. Thanks for paying for the good lawyer for me (Manuel got in a little jam cheating with Mo's money already) And then has the unrepentant nerve to ask if Diego could help him out more. Diego says, I hope you have learned your lesson from this event. But you are always the same. Manuel snivels that he is really sorry about what happened, but Lidia and Clemencia don't believe him. The second stage of the divorce proceedings are coming up. Diego finally changes the subject, he has to take new dresses over to the models for the fashion show. Manuel drools, you work with models?? BREAK [ad for Modelos beer with the slinky, sexy models, how convVENient as Church Lady on SNL use to say]

Well absolutely everyone has shown up at the big fashion show including GSD, upon seeing Arnaldo walk in he asks what are you doing here. Arnaldo acts like it has nothing to do with Julio, he is just supporting Diego's debut as a designer and Ceci's debut as a model. Azul and Caty are also backstage. Manuel makes himself super helpful with fussing and patting at the models in imitation of Diego who is just trying to fit their design wear on them for the show. Silvana walks up to Caty and says when did you get out of foster care? Caty answers just today. Diego and Azul came for me. Azul speaks up and says she has custody of Caty as she is still married to Mo and he's, well in jail... Silvana swoops down to Caty and says oh, I would love to have you come to live with me. Azul responds with she is living with Diego and me but you can come see her any time.

Arnaldo and Don Chucho exchange comments about Diego seeming to not be making anything of Julio taking all the credit so far with the designs. People are seated on both sides of the runway and an announcer mentions only Julio Corso. and the Modeling School head. Ceci comes down the ramp with that big hair look in a black dress with black dancing tights at mid calf. The other models come out and walk down and back. Diego gets up from his seat with Caty and Azul and heads to the back. Azul get up and follows him leaving Caty with Gloria.

Anibal and Clemencia at a restaurant. Clemencia thinks this is the scene where Anibal will propose to Isela and she shouldn't be here but Anibal says who should be here is you (they are tutearing now). He tells her he loves her and she says she loves him too. Some kissing.

In the dressing room at the fashion show. Diego is crouching by the dressing table for some whacky reason. Azul starts in this is not honest. Why is Julio only using his name. I'm not going to let him take all the credit for your work. Diego says I hoped he would make it right. He goes on to say he doesn't want to disrupt the show since it is the first one for both Ceci and Silvana. He will wait until the show is finished.

Back at the restaurant, Anibal and Clemencia are still professing their love for each other. Clemencia says but what about Isela. Just then Isela appears at the dining room door with a strange, wild look in her eyes. [hope this doesn't get ugly when we get back from BREAK].

The models have all finished their walk. An announcer says here's the creator of this world of textures, Julio Curso. Julio comes on and thanks everyone for coming for this special night. He beckons forward his collaborators to thank them, Gaspar, Jesus Rivera, also known as Don Chucho and this is also to introduce the beautiful models from Trisha MacKenzie's Modeling School. Then Julio suddenly admits that he has taken credit for Diego's designs. He tells about the last show when he took credit for the wedding dress for Azul [I think he means that ill-fated wedding to Mauricio. Julio calmly continues, I want to present the young and talented Diego Moran and here is Ceci Galardo and Silvana Gambado in designs by Diego. Diego makes his way up on the runway and says I am learning everything from this master Julio Corso and thanks him for his help and for his words.

Back to Clemencia telling Anibal that Isela was a ghost between her and Manuel. She had been aware that they had a relationship before she came along but after the marriage, Manuel got reinvolved with Isela and she Clem. wasn't even aware of it for years. Manuel played both of them. She doesn't want the same thing to happen if Anibal is still involved on some level with Isela. She is not in love with Manuel any longer but doesn't want to be a third discord with Anibal. Just then Isela steps forward not looking at all scary and says , I am no ghost this time. Anibal and I were just lonely and trying to be together but now we are just friends. You are not taking anything from me. I was so in love with Manuel when were young but it was idealized. Clemencia says now you have a second chance (with Manuel) but Isela is pretty smart and very quick to go OH no, I don't want him now. I am grateful that now I can follow my own road. I hope you two will be really happy

Back on the runway, Diego has a microphone and says he wants to share this moment with the two who govern his life and asks Azul and Caty to join on the stage with him. They arrive, Diego gets down on a knee and says to Caty, I promise to be the best Dad, give me your hand. He puts a ring on her finger. [sigh, so sweet]. Next he stands up near Azul she puts her hands on her face while he asks her to marry him. She gets a ring too. [sigh, so sweet]. Silvana watches with stunned acceptance. Then Julio steps forward again saying Diego has a great future in all senses. My wedding present is to wish you all to follow Diego with all his designs and he will now have the boutique too because I am leaving Mexico. Arnaldo and the crowd suck in some air. BREAK

TV reporter guys are asking Julio why he is leaving Mexico is it because he took credit for all of Diego's designs? Diego rather graciously steps forward and says I have received support from Julio all along and he is leaving for other reasons. Back stage, Julio says to Diego. I've done so much damage to you. I took credit for your work and I even lost Arnaldo because of it. Arnaldo comes back and says, we need to talk.

GSD with his two women [direct competition with Anibal and his two] I'm glad Julio is leaving, he finally had to recognize Diego's design talents [and to think only a week ago, he was trying to have Diego arrested but anything to slam Julio].

Arnaldo tells Julio he was so valiant but Julio explains to Arnaldo that he was scared of Diego's talent, and driven by his insecurity and vanity. Ambition and impulsive behavior have lost him everything. Arnaldo says people are not perfect and by the way I didn't sleep at Dad's last week I was with an amiga. Julio's shock is profound, a girl?? No we just drank a lot. You deceived me with a GIRL No, I drank so much I slept like a dormouse. I'm sorry I didn't tell you before. I needed hypnosis to know what happened [nothing]. They speak of recognizing errors and trying to continue on . Happy tears of relief. Arnaldo wants to grow with Julio and share the same pathway.

Manuel [who just wants to share someone's bank account] steps into the colored stage lights and dramatically tells the reporters and cameraman that HE is Diego Moran's father and represents his interests. His happy moment on stage is brought to an abrupt end when he sees Anibal and Clemencia enter arm in arm.

Azul tells Julio she is glad he did justice to Diego and Julio with Arnaldo reveals that they are going to get married. Azul and Diego are felicidading them when GSD sputters he doesn't want to even see Arnaldo again. How could he bring such shame in such a public way and ruin his prominence. Cant' he just shut up instead of being so extreme as to marry another man. He walks off in a huff [to have a puff, I bet] GSD's daughter and two women all want to help with the wedding plans... Julio says your father's intolerance exasperates me.

Manuel slips out of the limelight to confront Clemencia and Anibal. What are you doing on your boss's arm. After all we have shared and blubberblubber. I have cried and cried. He then barks at Isela, Did you know about this? Isela now retorts, yes now I understand Clemencia. Manuel says well she's still my wife... Anibal starts to heat up and says you can't insult her like that. Manuel seems determined to act the possessive injured husband but even Isela isn't interested in him now that he is available. BREAK

Gloria, Don Chucho and Caty watch a photographer getting flirty shots of Silvana, he says she will be a great model. He hands her a card and says he works for an agency that is doing work in Japan. She has all the requisites to make a triumph. She smiles like she forgot that she isn't getting Diego, for a minute.

Ceci and Azul are on some steps talking about the wedding (Arnie's and Julio's) Ceci reveals that she is swooning over Luis Felipe. Who? The most enchanting man who spilled a drink on her dress.

Meanwhile across town, the handsome Luis Felipe is packing and chatting with him Mom. You are going too far away with your grant to study in Spain. You never have time for anything but working. Don't you need a girlfriend to miss you? He starts to talk about no time to go out the the ranch before he leaves and Mom won't let go. She says don't change the subject, what about the new girl, the model, what's her name, Cecilia? He tells mom he only had time to send her flowers for her debut as a model. There is no point in getting involved when he is leaving town. [Shucks, we've all heard that one before, no?]

Back to Ceci as Gaspar walks toward her with an enormous flower arrangement just as she finishes telling Azul that LP could be the love of her life. [Wow, she got over Andres and the love-betrayal-confession-death moments awfully well] She grabs the card to read aloud, he says I'm going to be leaving for Spain but I wanted to wish you good luck on your debut modeling show...

Once more Anibal, Clemencia and Isela finish unraveling a would be/could be triad. But no, Isela tells them both to fight to be happy. As she leaves Clemencia says now she is discovering what a great woman Isela is. She is not my rival, she is my mirror. Interesting that they both loved two men, the same two men... [probably could have been great friends and dumped the two men, but Anibal looks like a keeper, Manuel not so much]. She looks at Anibal and adds your are beginning to be everything to me.
Thankfully, we get a scene with Azul and Diego who knows how much later with no crying, no whining, just sweetness and light kissing. And don't you like Azul's hair straight? It really suits her.
Next chapter: Gloria, Isela and Silvana discuss at the table. Gloria has a date with Don Chucho and Silvana gets a phone call that is the photographer inviting her to an important contract signing for that big job in JAPAN! Over at Moran's, Clemencia and Lidia discuss their various wild and crazy marriages, divorces, etc. Stay tuned to see where this all goes. Could GSD and Mauricio break into the gay wedding and make unforgivable or unforgettable scenes??

Pasion - Dec. 6, 2007 great miracles are happening here!

(I am filling in for Margaret as she finishes up with ASL. Enjoy reading, and perdoname for the slowness in posting. I was drooling way too much over our first sight of our favorite pirate captain. - J.R.)

* Justo goes to mill office to talk with Vasco. Vasco comes down from the office loft. Justo is still searching for Cami. Vasco hasn't seen his sister at the mill (like he would know, he hasn't actually been working there all day). They also talk about Santiago, who is still unconscious. They are moving him back home today. Justo and Vasco leave to help in the transport. Justo mentions something to Vasco about Padre Don Agustin.

* Pancho and Crispin walk on either side of the cart with Santiago in back.

* Justo waits by the gate of Ofelia's house. Sofia and Fortunata stop by. Sofia passes along her condolences to Justo and then starts to vent her outrage over her no-good sleezy husband. Fortunata tries to give Jorge the benefit of the doubt. Sofia says stop he doesn't really deserve it. Vasco, Bernie, Pancho and Crispin carry Santiago on his serape(blanket) into the house. Justo and Sofia continue talking. Sofia asks Justo not to hold anything that happened against her. Justo is surprised and tells her he still has the utmost respect for her. She assures that if she finds out anything, anything at all that links her husband to what happened with Santiago and Cami, she will take her own immediate actions. Sofia then tells Justo to pass along her well wishes to Ofelia then walks away. Fortunata then passes along her own sympathies to Justo and Ofelia and their families. Justo politely says thank you. She tries to snoop a peek inside the doorway and leaves.

* Ofelia is at the side of her son's bed. Rita and Ofelia fix the sheets and covers on top of him. Ines enters and says Justo is waiting for them downstairs.

* Around the dining table, Justo tells the group everything Cami explained to them about Jorge and his "lordship right" the other night. Ines is crying and scared that the same fate could happen to her when she gets married. Ofelia tells her don't worry, we haven't even found a boyfriend for you yet. Then Ofelia begs forgiveness from Justo because she's been really worried about Santiago right now. Crispin steps forward and tells her that he and Pancho will do everything they can to help out around the house and shop until Santiago recovers. Rita asks Justo where Cami is. Justo says he doesn't know, she hasn't been located. Rita cries whether Jorge has her again. (oh, the shame of Rita's over-acting.)

* Justo goes to see Don Jorge at the mansion. Justo asks if Cami was there. Jorge is aghast by the question. "Here? Why? She completed her duties to me the other night." Jorge then goes on to wonder whether or not Cami just had to get away because of nerves or cold feet. He tells Justo don't worry she will return. Jorge then turns into Mr. Peacock and spouts on about his position in this society. Sofia stands and listens to the peacock from the upstairs balcony. As she comes downstairs, the conversation ends and Justo is about to walk away. Sofia asks Jorge point blank where he is hiding Cami. Jorge puffs and ignores the question. Jorge tells Justo when Cami returns to please advise him and then leaves. Sofia and Justo have a short conversation about Cami and Santiago before Justo leaves.

* Night time. The thieves lead the covered wagon down the trail. Inside the wagon, Claudio (Carla Estrada's son, Carlos) holds his brother Alberto as Jimena tears off a piece of her underskirt to use as a bandage and wraps it around Alberto's head wound. They talk together. Jimena sees Cami and brings her into their discussion - first they mention water; then Cami is impactado when Jimena tells her they are gathered there on the wagon to be sold as slaves. Claudio comments that if it's money that these thieves want, his cousin is filthy rich and can give the money to buy everyone their freedom. Jimena advises Claudio to keep quiet about his family inheritance, there is no saint or amount of money to help them now. With Cami's questions and activities, Jimena realizes that she's never been in this situation before. Jimena takes the leadership teaching role for the group and tells them what to do to stay alive. {thank you tash and maricruz for the correction}

* Rita cries and talks to Santiago, still unconscious, as she wipes water over his cheek. Santiago opens his eyes for a brief second. Long enough though for Rita to see, cry in happiness and kisses him. She asks him to do it again. (nes gadol hayaw peh - a great miracle happened here!)

* Vigil in town with everyone out in the street praying, chanting and shooting off fireworks. Men in wooden panga canoes rowing their little candle altars around (captain's warning: lighted candles and wood boats are a fire hazard waiting to happen). Justo, Ofelia, Ines, Vasco and the twins Crispin and Pancho are in the front yard of Ofelia's house talking about the search party and standing by their table overflowing with lit candles and a statue of virgin mary with a decorated lace veil over it. Rita runs outside to tell them that Santiago opened his eyes! Ofelia and Ines run inside with Rita. The men all hug and celebrate the news.

* The ladies run into the bedroom. Ines and Ofelia hover around Santiago in bed. Rita stands at the foot of the bed and assures them that he did open his eyes briefly - she saw it.

* At the riverbanks near a waterfall the next day. They all search high and low around the banks, hills, bushes, and dredging (or kanoodling) in the river for any sign of Cami. Fortunata and Sofia stand and supervise. Justo walks over to the ladies and is crying and disillusioned as he talks with Sofia.

* The thieves caravan continues rolling along the dusty trail. Juancho and his men are on horses chatting and laughing about the premium price they expect Antillano to pay for the ladies, and what they want to spend the money on. In the wagon, Cami sits with Claudio and Alberto. Jimena and the others rest.

* Sofia goes to husband, who is entertaining Alberto (or as I am calling him, Gasca's ancestor) and his men in the dining hall. Sofia asks Jorge for his help in the search for Cami. Jorge hems and haws excuses why he won't help. Sofia is frustrated and tries to get Jorge to agree. Alberto steps in and backs up Jorge's decision not to intervene in the search. Sofia walks out in a huff. Jorge and Alberto return to their dinner party.

* Caravan stops to rest for the night. Two thieves bring supplies back to Juancho and Negro by the campfire. Cami and Jimena talk as they watch the traders like hawks. Negro and another walk over to drop the bread and water jug by Cami - Dinner is served! Cami picks up the water jug. They pass the bread bag around, everyone taking a share. Cami carries the water jug over to Claudio - they are very watchful and careful as Claudio helps Alberto drink from the jug.

* After dinner, the thieves and Juancho are all tired, bored and lonely. They notice how inviting the lovely ladies look in the darkness. Cami and Jimena watch, and then panic, as the men approach. Claudio is horrified to see them approach and grab the ladies. He tries to fight with Juancho - stick to rifle. Juancho wins with one swift hit in Claudio's ribcage and Claudio falls to the ground in pain. Juancho pushes him and Alberto away as the men grab and overtake the ladies like rabid animals. (GANG RAPE!)

* Next day at the creek. Jimena, Cami and the ladies are washing themselves off in the creek. Jimena and Cami are talking. At the end of the conversation, Jimena tells them to finish up and leave the creek, so they don't draw any suspicions from the men. Back in the wagon, the ladies all sit in the back. Cami sits beside Claudio and asks how Alberto is doing. Juancho and his men are back on horses talking. Claudio tells Cami he is worried that his cousin will die. Cami tells him don't give up hope, he will live.

* Justo is drinking his tea on his dining hall patio. He goes to greet Sofia and Fortunata who have stopped by for updates on the search for Cami. They walk back to the dining hall patio, and Justo tells them there's no sign of Cami at all. Then he tells them that Santiago opened his eyes, for a brief moment, so at least they know he is still alive. He asks about Ursula. Sofia glares and then says how disgusted she is that her daughter doesn't want to do anything but lay in bed with little clothes on and won't do anything to care for her own daughter.

* Speaking of whom, we find Vasco having his rendezvous with Ursula in her bedroom at the mansion. He gets out of bed and starts to get redressed. Ursula is still laying in bed, naked under her bed sheet, and eating cherries one at a time as she talks with Vasco. He has to go back to work at the mill. She says why is that mill so important? He says maybe it isn't to her but to him and his family it's their source of income (ingresos). She then asks about Cami. He says they haven't found her. She mentions hearing a rumor about Cami being dead. He doesn't believe it's true. He tells her that it's been fun but he really does need to go. Ursula wraps her bed sheet around her and climbs out of bed. Then she walks over to her side table, takes out two keys and seductively tells him one is for the outside mansion gate and the other is for the door to the mansion so he can enter and exit late at night as he sneaks inside to visit her. (Vasco likey this plan.)

* Caravan stops for a meal break. Cami and Jimena talk about Jimena overhearing the thieves say they will be at the barrio at the bay (bahia) soon and from there they will go on a ship to an island. Cami is impactado and asks which island? Jimena doesn't know, she didn't hear them say it. Cami thinks they should escape. Jimena negates that idea. This is our destiny, she replies. Claudio brings Alberto over to join Cami and Jimena. Jimena shares her coconut with Alberto. Claudio tries to share his bread with her but she says he should keep it and hide it. Juancho and Negro grab and haul Cami and Jimena away.

* The caravan arrives at the cabana barrio on the beach. They cuss and grumble about Antillano (Ricardo). Mario sees them and goes to greet them. Juancho and Negro grumble about the last time they met - they accuse Mario and Antillano of setting them up and getting them drunk. Mario is like whatever and is about to leave. They wish to negotiate for the captives they brought with them in the wagon. Mario tells them when Antillano is available he will talk with them. Antillano is behind his cabana, looking out over the ocean to the horizon. He turns and walks back around the cabana to watch/oversee the activity at the cabanas as well as watch Mario talk with Juancho and Negro. He goes inside his cabana. Juancho and Negro and their associate theives start to unload their human cargo.

* Inside the cabana, associate hides the melon he is eating as Antillano walks inside and goes to peek through the crack at the persons being unloaded from the wagon. Antillano grumbles to Mario about what Juancho and Negro brought for trade/sale. Mario explains that Juancho says there are two beautiful ladies and two boys in the group. Antillano grunts and sighs about the two boys. Mario asks about negotiating with Juancho as Negro appears inside the doorway. Antillano thumbs for Mario and associate to go start inspection and negotiation. Associate and Negro leave. Mario stays with Antillano, who snaps his fingers as he watches Cami being unloaded from the wagon. (He's definitely curious and intrigued by her.)

* At the cabana door, Negro makes a crack about Antillano and his strange actions - is he really a pirate captain by birth? Associate snaps back - why should you care? Negro slaps him on the head and leaves.

* Out in the middle of the cabanas, the thieves push Cami into the line up with the others. Antillano continues to peek through the crack in his cabana wall.

* Antillano and Mario talk in the cabana about arriving at La Mariana in three days. Antillano is disgusted by the slave trading business; Mario reminds him it is his business - Antillano corrects him by saying it is the english business not his. He is getting homesick for La Mariana. Mario leaves to talk with Juancho. Antillano looks at his clam-shell pocket watch and thought bubbles to himself about home. He shuts the watch, makes a fist, and holds it up to his forehead.

* In another cabana, Alberto and Claudio explain to Cami and Jimena about their rich cousin, Duke Don Alvaro Salvatierra de Cueva. Jimena tells them not to say anything to Juancho or his men - no telling what they may do with the information or to them (she fears the worst). Alberto wonders then what will they do, become servants and have to do manual labor? Juancho and men enter with Mario, for an inspection of the merchandise. Juancho orders them to get on their feet. Mario walks over to Alberto, sees the head bandage and claims he is damaged goods and is unsuitable. Jimena spouts in Alberto's defense. Mario makes a low-ball offer for the ladies and an even lower one for the two boys. Juancho thinks the offer is a joke and shows (by grabbing and holding Cami's face) how beautiful she is - trying to get a better negotiated price. Alberto opens his mouth about his cousin to Mario - they aren't laborers but senores. Juancho rears back to hit him - Mario says stop little shark (tiburoncito), you don't want to damage the goods before Antillano even starts to negotiate. Mario has the men go outside to start the negotiations - it's too cramped in the cabana. As the men leave, Negro makes a proposition to Cami. She spits it back in his face. He says maybe (tal vez) and leaves.

* Out on the beach by the cabanas. Cami and Jimena sit together and talk and watch Antillano, Juancho and Mario negotiate. Jimena is eating a slice of pineapple. They chat about Antillano the handsome, mysterious ship captain. Cami is homesick.

* Under the canopy of the cabana, negotiations are going slowly between Antillano, Juancho and Mario. As Antillano tells Mario to bring the boys inside, Juancho reminds Antillano that they themselves both are prisoners with no real rights. Augustina starts to panic and runs away down the beach to the ocean's edge. One of the guards shoots her in the back with his rifle. She falls down dead. Antillano is angry - Mario pushes the guard and takes the rifle. Antillano argues what his motive was to shoot her. He says she was going to escape and he stopped her. They start to fight - he with his big pick axe and Antillano with his small knife. One swing of the big axe and the man was turned enough so Antillano could turn him more and stab him in the side with his blade. The man falls down dead in the spot. Antillano swings the axe so it is stuck in the sand. He has a glare down with Juancho and then Antillano and Mario go back to the cabana. Jimena runs over to cry over Augustina's dead body. Cami is scared and crying beside the cabana wall.

* Inside the cabana, Antillano and Mario talk with Alberto and Claudio about their relationship with Duke Don Alvaro. Juancho, Antillano and Mario discuss the story as well as the story going around about Duke actually paying money for Claudio and Alberto to disappear.

* That night. Cami, Jimena, Claudio and Alberto are awake and discussing the Duke and whether the story the men told was true or a rumor. Cami says she feels sad for Augustina's death. Jimena says that she is worried and fears the worst for them.

* Flocks of seagulls (gaviotas) on the beach. Cami, Jimena and the gang are marched single file to the waiting wooden panga boats at the water's edge.

* On the ship, Antillano stands on the upper deck supervising the loading of his human cargo. As he watches Cami look up at him as she is loaded into the cargo hold, he calls out to the crew to "HOIST THE MAINSAILS! HOIST THE SAILS! GET READY TO LAUNCH!" Antillano then crosses his chest and prays to God above.

* Inside the cargo hold, Claudio and Alberto are together, as the men place the rest around the hold area. Cami sits beside the barrel and remembers four years ago giving Santiago her neck scarf to keep her with him while he was away, they loved each other so much, they kiss. Cami snaps back to reality as Jimena hits her arm, and Negro passes out the plates of tacos. Jimena asks where they are going. Negro says La Mariana. Is that far? Jimena asks. Two or three days, Negro replies. Cami asks a follow up question. Negro, growing tired of all the questions, says Antillano says if there is wind in the sails, it maybe sooner. Negro unleashes a pig in the hold to watch them as he leaves.

* In the bedroom, Santiago wakes up and looks around. He tries to sit up and is in pain and can't. Ofelia enters with a food tray. He calls out, "Madre!" She is shocked, sets the tray on the table and is so happy he is awake. She tells him he's been unconscious for a whole week. He asks for (who else) Camila. She has to think how to answer the question. He asks if Cami is okay. Ofelia says she's fine, that Jorge didn't touch her at all. He asks where is she? Ofelia lies and says she's on a retreat to Donda Carmelo to pray for him. He grimaces as he tries to sit up again. She explains he was so bad they thought he would die. He grins and says he is still alive and very much wants to see Cami. He makes his mom promise to send for her immediately. Mami says first he needs to eat some food, to regain his strength. They continue to discuss Cami - he really needs to see her. He then says, "One day, I am going to kill him (Jorge). I swear I am going to kill him." Ofelia can only look on in guilt and worry.

I Love Juan - Thurs 12/6 - Welcome to Farell Industries, where there's always a crowd on the balcony*

Paula calls CL a big fat liar because he didn't tell her about his plans to redecorate the apartment or that he intended to return to Farell Industries. "Is that how you want to start our marriage? With lies?" she asks stupidly. One wonders how this would be different from their entire relationship thus far.

Monica and her pal congratulate Monica on her plot. Moni says things are happening in record time because CL remains, predictably, the greatest of liars.

CL sucks up to Paula, he didn't have bad intentions, he loves her, he begs her forgiveness. She shrugs him off and heads to the kitchen to cook dinner. When in doubt fork it out.

Nidia calls Ana for the chisme on Paula's honeymoon. Are they ready to divorce? Ana says Paula wasn't very forthcoming with her but the one thing that was missing is the light that used to shine in Paula's eyes. Nidia says it sounds like she finally got the point that it's much different to be the girlfriend than to be the wife. Nidia tells Ana that there is still no word on Juan; it's a mystery with the force of a hurricane that has left them reduced to rubble.

CL sleeps while Paula recalls her dismal wedding day. She remembers Juan begging her to leave and start a new life with him. She weeps and wonders where he is.

Cut to Juan in the Modern Pharmacy. He thought bubbles that helping others is the prescription for his own broken heart. The sweet old lady comes in to thank him; "Gracias doctor, I wake every morning full of energy and..." Juan advises her to send her husband down for the same cure. She blows him a kiss and dances out of the store. Next the effeminate guy with 'roids comes in and announces he is ready to dance the cachibombon. Juan pretends to diagnose him but dreams about Paula.

Kike pines for Juan and says he should try to find him. Yadi, noticeably protruberant, comforts him and tells him to stick close to her and the baby. Kike mentions that next week he needs to make a deposit to Juan's account for his share of the business. Yadi insists that if Juan never returns then the share should go to Nidia Micaela (their daughter!). Kike is sure that Juan will return.

Paula and CL argue about her frigid attitude. She shoves his briefcase at him and rebuffs his farewell. He goes off to work and she's stuck at home. Bored, she calls Marely and invites her over for lunch.

When CL arrives at work he sees Ivonne at her old desk. "You're still here?" he asks. "Bad weeds never die," she smirks.

Paula visits Ana who comments that Paula doesn't seem too happy. Paula admits she has a problem and it's called Cesar Luis Farell.

At Farell Industries the commoners gather below the great balcony to hear the announcement from on high. Moni, up on the balcony with CL, announces the news, CL is returning as president of the company and she will occupy the the position of VP of Commerce. Everything will be as it was before (er, except for the small detail that Moni has replaced Paula). The serfs, urged on by Pastor, applaud politely.

Paula fills Ana in on CL's lies, he never planned a business in Spain, he always intended to return to President of Farell Industries, and now Monica is in Paula's old job. What should she do? Ana tells her to suck it up, be mature and don't act jealous. "But he betrayed me," Paula whines.

Back at the office Moni lays it out for CL, she wants Ivonne to remain sexetary to the Pres. and Marely will report to the VP. She hopes this arrangement won't bother Paula. (Yeah, right.) CL announces that Paula doesn't get to decide who will or will not be his sexetary. Also, he and Moni will have a strictly working relationship and the subject of Paula Davila must be cancelled between them.

Over at the Modern Pharmacy in podunkville Juan's boss makes bad jokes about his medications. "Why is this medicine like an elephant? Give up? Because one is a paquidermas and the other is a "paqui duermas". (Ha ha, that was so funny I forgot to laugh.) He warns Juan about the medication (it's the one he gave the old lady). It's a strong stimulant, stronger than apache marijuana! Juan worries about the frisky old lady and his boss goes on about the numerous dangerous side effects. Juan prays to his santo niño.

CL tells Pastor that even though his marriage looks good on the outside his relationship with Paula isn't so hot. Every conversation end in dispute. CL asks about what has happened at the office. "Nothing much except for the disappearance of Juan Dominguez," reports Pastor. CL is impactado.

Juan go to the frisky lady's house and tries to buy the pills back but she refuses to give them up. Her much younger husband comes out with a rifle and chases Juan away.

Cl begins to spin out of control. He accuses Juan of disappearing on purpose in order to draw attention to himself; it's his latest hand in winning the game. Pastor denies it but CL huffs "It's the perfect plan, he'll end up falling into Paula's arms. Juan really knows her weaknesses well." He pounds the table for effect.

Speaking of the King of Rome, Juan has decided to hitchhike out of town. He says to himself that beating a hasty retreat is his only option. As he sits in the back of a truck with a couple of goats he muses that now the question is what destiny awaits him?

Marely assures Moni that they won't have any problems working together. Moni is glad (she says) and indicates Mari's career progression includes that of executive status. From now on Mari will be part of Moni's team.

Mari has gone to Paula's for lunch and Paula advises her not to trust Monica; behind the smile lie ulterior motives. (No duh) "Didn't she make even one comment about me?" aks Paula. "No, not one," says Mari, stuffing her face with salad. Just then CL peers around the corner in time to hear Paula ask about Juan. "I must know where he is, I must know how he is!" she gasps. Dramatic music plays and CL glares.

Paula tries again to make the conversation all about her. She admits that Juan's disappearance is very painful for her. Marely jumps down Paula's throat, it is Juan who has had the greatest pain so Paula had better just shut her pie-hole. (I might have paraphrased a little.) She tells Paula she should pay attention to her marriage and leave Juan in peace. CL makes his entrance and Marely skedaddles. "Too bad," scowls CL,"the conversation about Juan was very interesting."

The goat truck drops Juan off at a crossroads. Juan flips a coin to determine his direction.

Paula and Cesar fight about [insert usual topic here]. It ends with her stomping off in a huff and CL slamming the door behind him as he leaves.

Moni tells Ivonne that she fulfilled her part of the barain, now it's Ivonne's turn. She wants Ivonne to be CL's lover soon. Seems to me that Ivonne got off easy in this bargain. All she has to do is what she would do anyway.

Juan wanders down a country road when suddenly a hottie in a bright yellow jeep pulls up and offers him a lift. He happily accepts and thought bubbles "Clearly in this world there are pazguatos and pazguatas!" (Help anyone? What does this mean?)

Cut to stoopid Paula bawling her eyes out.

Juan amuses the hottie with his cute babbling. She tells him she also left her man and lives on a ranch with her daughter and father but their ranch has more problems than solutuions, does Juan want a job, food and a place to sleep? He hoots and agrees, let's go!

We get a nice butt shot of Moni's pal as she bends over to get a bottle of wine. I think the cameraman must have been laying on the ground to get that one. Moni updates her on the plot. She has replaced Paula at work, CL is once again president, Ivonne is his secretary with instructions to reseduce him, meanwhile Moni will insist that their relationship be strictly all work, his instincts will take over, then Paula Davila will begin to feel the torment that Monica felt. They toast.

Huy!!! We are treated to a montage of studly Juan doing his farm chores. He chops wood, rubs down a horse, feeds the animals, all under the admiring eye of his employer. Juan wonders what Paula is doing, is she back at Farell?

Cut to Paula dressed like Suzy Homemaker. It looks like she is making Chicken Fried burlap bag.

Ivonne struts into CL's office and all of a sudden I am reminded of a phrase I learned in French many years ago. "Il ya du monde au balcon" which translates "There is a crowd in the balcony", which is a nice way of saying "Yo, milk truck!" Anyway, boobs athrust, Ivonne follows her crowded balcony into the office and she heaves it onto CL, or tries to anyway, before he pushes her off.

Juan gazes into a fire after his hard day's work. He thinks that sometimes he feels he's cured of love but sometimes it feels as strong as the first day. By the way, I notice he no longer has his tattoo. Did he get it removed?

CL goes home and he and he and Paula fight about [insert topic here].

The Cachon family sits around the table talking non-stop and happily eating pizza as Juan voices over that time was erasing the affections that had once penetrated him so deeply.

The sun rises and Juan kisses his employer goodbye. He thought bubbles that as the months passed things heated up between him and the good woman that employed him he didn't want to crush her so he had to leave to wherever his heard would lead him. (At least I think that's what he said.)

Back at Casa Chacón the three women medidate and chant. Nidia and Mari try to concentrate but Yadi keeps complaining, she's bored and her big stomach hurts. Mari finally drags her out while Nidia continues to meditate, "Inhale...and Perafan will become only an illusion. Exhale...and think of the love of my life."

Cut to the marketplace where Kike thanks Angarita for the good salary; back at Farell he worked for peanuts. Anga asks about Kike's old associate Juan. Kike is hopeful that Juan will reappear. "You and my brother," answers Anga,"the poor guy is still in love with him." Then Angarita asks,"and how are things at the Cachón house?" Unfortunately my Tivo stopped and we won't find out until tomorrow.

I am subbing for Schoolmarm-in-Black Captain Cash tomorrow so I'll see y'all again this weekend!

Juan Q Dec 5 - Juan leaves, CL and Pau return, and everyone else mourns

Muchas Gracias a Maricruz for filling in for me while I was frolicking out of Univision range. I think she does a wonderful job and adds such a special and unmatched touch with her first hand knowledge of all of the dichos. I pale in comparison, so thanks again.

Kike makes quite the constipated face and screams Guerito, which can mean blond or light skinned, or amusing, or trusting of anyone. I’m not sure what the connotation is here, probably that this guy is light in contrast to Juan, but could be that Kike is amused because this is not Juan or if he shouldn’t have trusted the lady on the phone. Just here is where Maricruz would feel her worth. Anyway, Kike comes running out and says he’s not the dead guy it’s someone else, it’s not Juan and the somber trio do circle jumps for joy hugging each other while the coroner dude yells at them to lower their voices. Why, are they going to disturb the cadavers???

Marely gets a phone call that some guy with keys to a company car is at reception and she says to let him in.

Nid and Ana are brainstorming about where Juan could be. Nid doesn’t think he would kill himself and Ana wouldn’t even say that. They come up with the idea that he would seek the comfort of someone he can confide in. Ana says maybe he went back to his pueblo and Nidia says of course to Achichipico, complete with visual aid of the chi chi part (tits). She realizes she can call her cousin Delfina to find out.

With Mon and Mar, the gas station guy we saw says he thought he should do the right thing and bring the car back, to the company because maybe it was stolen and he didn’t want to get in trouble. The girls tell him he did the right thing but don’t care about the car and want to know about the dude that “gifted” it to him. They say they need to find him. Gas guy describes Juan but the girls say they already know who he is, but the guy says he has no idea where he went, but that he was very upset or angry about something and that’s about all he knows.

Nid chats with her cousin who reveals she hasn’t seen Juan in months. Nid tells the story of him being quite the rooster (big man on campus) here too, and she tells the story of him being in love with the daughter of her husband’s lover who is now her good friend and blah blah..

Mon tells Gaytan the gas guy’s tale and to go over there and see what he can figure out. The boys are returning from the morgue chatting too, and also come up with the idea that maybe Juan went back to Achichipico.

Just then the phone rings a second time at Marely’s desk. It’s Juan!!!!!!!! She wonders where he’s gone. He says he’s fine; he just wanted them all to know that and to thank them for all they have done for him. He won’t tell her where he is but that he’s not coming back, not because of them but because of everything else that’s happened and that he loves them and appreciates how kind they were to him but he just can’t come back, it’s the only way he can forget this horrible mistake. Marely begs him something fierce that the people that care about him are here and he can’t turn his back on all that and she has much to tell him. He apologizes profusely but says it’s impossible for him to return but he will send Kike and Nid money because he never forgets his debts and please tell everyone he cares and will miss them but he’s got to hang up now, he’s sorry. Marely is crying.

Nid and Ana are at the house now saying they are more worried when Marely calls and tells what she knows. Nid can’t believe he is doing that to them. When she hangs up the boys rush in to the office and Marely tells them the same thing.

We then see Juan in a Parhikuni bus station. He tells the attendant to give him a ticket. The guy asks to where. Juan looks at the map of Michoacan on the wall and says, “I don’t care, wherever.” The guy snips back that he cares even less, so Juan better tell him where, north or south. Juan mutters in his thoughts that this guy is telling him what his destiny would be and if he only knew where he was going. He only knew no matter what he’s not going back, and his ticket will be one way. He says that he would give anything asked of him except giving back the kisses, he swears to God he’s not going back.

Marely is consoling a really upset Kike. He complains that she did nothing to stop Juan from leaving. She tells Kike imagine how bad she felt too when she heard Juan saying these things. Kike cries about the future they were going to have together in the business, etc. Marely tells him she is trying really hard to be strong and see things Juan's way; that he needs to get away from everything reminding him of Paula. She is again wiser than anyone unselfishly trying to understand how he must feel and trying to convince Kike of the same.

Gaytan is crying and unnaturally upset about Juan being gone and this is not lost on Monica. She wants to know what is the matter with him.

Ana and Nid lament the loss of Juan. They reminisce about old times and how wonderful Juan was, even though a lot of times his attempts at things would often end in disaster. Nid asks who will put the baile (dance) in our life now that he’s gone, and they both look forlorn.

Gaytan apologizes that his emotions got the best of him. Mon tells Gaytan he doesn’t have to answer but she asks if he was in love. Pastor says let’s just say he was a very special friend, but even though I felt a great attraction for him we never got beyond a completely platonic relationship. Mo says he acts as if he is dead though they are both still alive and thinks he still has feelings for Juan. Gaytan says well it doesn’t matter anyway. She says no, that’s the most important thing, and gives him a direct order to find Juan. She tells him his work is not finished. He should leave no stone unturned, she wants Juan back here as much or more than him.

Kike waiting for Pastor to tell him he resigns. Pastor says it’s not that bad that he has to do that to them. Kike says it has nothing to do with Juan, but that he has a chida (great) offer to make much more money and he has to take it. Pastor presumes correctly that it has to do with his brother and says ok lets make the arrangements then.

Kike hugs Fer goodbye and Fer tells him he will miss him and jokes that they haven’t been friends exactly but since the bachelor party he’s tolerated him more. Kike smiles and leaves.

Mon tells Laura that Juan is gone and she needs him back here especially when those two get back from their honeymoon. She tells the story of Pastor’s love for Juan that he cried an ocean for him and she can use this in her favor, because if his love is that great then he’ll do whatever it takes to find Juan. I’m starting not to like Monica’s scheming.

Pastor cries the blues to Ivonne that Juan is gone and not coming back. He stares lovingly at the painting and says he at least has a memento, he flashes back to his first meeting of Juan. Ivonne thinks he’s at least better off than she is because of what CL did to her because he has good memories. He says sorry, but you went looking for that, so whom are you moaning to.

The Cachon chicas are musing about how wonderful Juan was. Nid says he would be washing dishes right now just like he did every night. Marely remembering how she taught him the equations he didn’t understand. Yadi makes a snide joke that he used that trick just to get in Mar’s room. Mar snaps back that nothing ever happened. They recite his finer points in-between sighs and recall various moments. Nid calls him strong, and manly and spirited and her chomi chomi. Mar and Yadi give her a look, and she says were not telling any lies here.

Alirio smirks that this is all looking like a wake with everyone crying. Kike tells him we’ve lost the best friend you could imagine having. Alirio is not upset and mocks him. Kike tells him to bug off. Alirio groans at his painting.

Mar cries to Yadi: what is she going to do without his smile in the morning and his silly comments and seeing him everyday. She says he asked her out but she refused because she didn’t want to be seconds. Yadi tells her she closed the only door to her happiness. Mar tells her not to make her feel worse. Then, Yadi tells her she actually did the right thing because she deserves that he adores her, and besides, when his sadness passes, she’ll be right here waiting for him. Mar says what if he never comes back?

A tired Juan gets off the bus and notes to himself his situation, that he is tired and doesn’t know where he is and has no money, so he says he needs to look for work.

Just when I thought we might get an episode without Pau and CL, my dreams were shattered with her crossing the threshold in a funky red get up. They have returned after two months from Spain to secure some suppliers for the business over there, wink, wink. Oh well, at least we got 40 minutes before they showed up, or 2 months if we look at it with rose colored novela eyes.

Cl asks if she wants to eat in or out. She responds that she wants to take a quick bath and then go to see her mom. He wants to go together and they argue for a while about that not being a good idea and him angering her Mom and him saying but they are married etc. Finally he relents.

Juan shows up at a “pharmacy” and sees a help wanted sign. He inquires within and says he came about the work. The jefe Don Eleuterio tries to make a joke about whether he came or comes with a play on the conjugation of the verb and says like something that Juan Gabriel says about that being the difference. Juan seems to be playing along that yes he comes, but not really laughing with the guy, more at him. The boss tells him that he wants someone who knows what they are doing, but also someone with a sense of humor because that other guy is so serious. Juan says like a lime (sour)and cracks the guy up. Juan fakes that he trained in a lab and attended certain schools and tells himself this little lie is necessary. He gets the job and the fun white shirt right off the other guy’s back!!

Everyone is somber at breakfast and Alirion speaks his mind. He complains two months have passed and we have to get over this and get on with our lives. Juan was an accident in our lives and we must carry on. Each one of you is here with us all so what else can you ask for. Mar says Juan, and she storms off. Nid tells him that’s no way to treat the girl and he says everything he tries to do comes out wrong and he better just go. Nid hates to say it, but he’s right and she agrees they need to move on. Kike protests but Nid is firm that they need to start forgetting Juan.

Pau shows up to see her mom and tells her why they are in Mexico. She apologizes about the wedding and Mom says her too and she’s got nothing to apologize for. They get over that and on to how everyone is doing when Pau asks about Juan and Ana divulges his disappearance.

Juan is helping an older lady with a prescription and he can’t really read the doctor’s writing, commenting they write with their feet but he looks for what he thinks it says, Anaxibriol. He can’t find it, so gives her Doxidrol because it too ends in “ol” and tells her it’s not on the prescription but it will work and take it the same way, he thinks she’ll even dance the Cachibombon with this!

Cl asked Moni to lunch. She is sarcastic about him returning so soon. He tells her he wants to stay in Mexico for good and he accepts her proposal to take the presidency back. She is surprised, and proud that Pau is big enough to allow him to work with her again. He admits Pau doesn’t know yet. Moni is liking the sound of this.

We then see a meek somewhat effeminate gentleman in obvious discomfort sneakily asking if Juan has something for hemorrhoids. To the guy’s dismay, of course, Juan replies out loud, but says hemorrhages instead; yes, we have something for that. He gives him a pomade and tells him to put it on twice a day accompanied with a glass of milk and I think he also tells the guy to take a sitting or Sitz bath alternating the water between cold and warm. That sounds painful.

While preparing dinner Pau gets a call from someone who wants to know when he can come over to show her the sketches for remodeling the apartment. Pau is impactada and confused.

Cl comes home and nonchalantly tells Pau guess where he was, he went to see Moni and guess what she wants, him to resume the presidency! Pau chopping veggies screams at him: why did you lie to me???? CL is impactada. I’d be careful too since she’s got that knife!

Amar Sin Limites #97, Wednesday 12-05: We know the end is nigh when stuff starts happening

Leftovers: Mauricio's got Azul and Caty in "the warehouse," and he swears no one will find them. Diego scales the wall again. Ivan makes eyes at Silvana while Gloria complains that they're already leaving when they just got there. Silvana now has the documents that will seal Mauricio's fate. Allegedly. Diego gets into the house and scares the apron off Chonita. Chonita says Mauricio's crazy…it took her this long to notice? Anibal drops Clemencia off at home and asks her, since they're friends now, for her to help him plan how to surprise Isela with an engagement ring. Piero goes to plant doubts about Lidia in Tavo's mind. Clemencia comes inside and overhears Lidia and Manuel fighting about who should go pick her up from the hospital. And also that Manuel's been pimping out Lidia ("you used to drive him crazy in bed" is not something anyone EVER wants to hear from their dad).

Andres calls Mauricio to tell him there's nothing in the lab for him to steal--it's as pristine as after it was built. Azul picks at Mauricio that sooner or later everything is going to go badly for him. He gets violent with Azul in front of Caty and Caty remembers the entire accident: Mami lost control of the car and it ended up at the edge of the cliff, so she couldn't just open the driver's side door to get out; Mauricio pulled Caty out of the car and she ripped off Nico's button while he was doing that; Leo yells out that Nico's alive, but Mauricio (with a CONSCIOUS Caty in the car) uses his car to push Liliana's car over the edge of the cliff (and Leo was yelling the whole time that Nico was alive); Mauricio gets out and surveys his handiwork. Caty returns from her flashback and starts pulling on Mauricio's arm and yelling at him not to kill Azul the way he killed her Mami and Nicolas. Mauricio backs off and grabs his head like it hurts.

Back at Casa Moran, Clemencia can't believe that Manuel is the man she fell in love with. She tells him he shouldn't sell off their daughter. Manuel makes some offensive justifications that I won't repeat. Lidia tries to calm Clemencia down. Clemencia screams at Manuel that if he was never a success it was because he never worked for it, that he never wanted to work. She reminds him that she stayed with him even though he was mediocre. But this thing with Lidia, she can't forgive and she wants a divorce.

Caty talks about Mauricio pushing the car over the cliff and he screams at her to shut up. Azul tries to intervene and gets slapped. Mauricio keeps grabbing his head and telling Caty to shut up. Diego runs in, pushes the ladies out the door, shuts it, and then starts a fistfight with Mauricio.

Outside the fence, Ceci starts to call someone but gets busted by Andres. She tries to claim that Jacinto told her to come there and that she just wants to see Azul. Mauricio realizes she was trying to call Diego.

Azul and Caty get stopped by one of the security guys who won't let them out. She threatens to call the cops, but Andres arrives with Ceci and says they're not leaving until Mauricio gives them permission.

Mauricio and Diego are still fighting and Mauricio hits Diego over the head with a vase and locks him in the warehouse. Diego tries to kick the door down.

Up in the bedroom of Casa Moran, Lidia begs Clemencia to talk to Manuel because he's upset. Clemencia can't understand why Lidia is defending him. Lidia's response is that he gave her advice thinking of what was good for her and her future. Clemencia doesn't want anything more to do with him. And she wants to go with Lidia to talk to Lucia and have her confess everything. Lidia whines that Clemencia should be on her side. Clemencia can't believe that Lidia doesn't realize that what she's done is wrong. The doorbell rings and Lidia goes to answer it.

Manuel answers the door instead. It's Tavo and he wants to clear up some stuff with Lidia.

Mansión Malicia: Azul is demanding to be let out, but Mauricio arrives and says no one's leaving, especially not Caty. Azul says he's going to pay and the authorities will separate him from her. He grabs Caty, but Diego comes up and hands Caty off to Azul. He gets a gun pointed at him for his trouble by one of the security guys, then by Mauricio. Ceci tells Mauricio not to shoot, since she's already called the police and they're on their way. Mauricio doesn't believe it. He splits up the party, handing Ceci off to one security guy, Diego to the other, and then he and Andres take Azul and Caty…somewhere (can't really see where at this point). He tells Azul that she's never going to see Diego or her father again and that she can't have the cure until she gets on her knees and begs. As Mauricio waves the gun in Azul's face, he tells Andres that he's going to the new lab and that Andres needs to get everything ready because the three of them (Mauricio, Azul, and Caty?) are leaving the country forever. Dun dun dun. Commercials. Andres complains about it being risky to get the false travel documents, but Mauricio doesn't care. He also wants Andres to get him money and to kill Diego and Ceci. Andres agrees. Mauricio pushes Azul and Caty into a car. Andres asks if it's not risky for Mauricio to leave without checking that the cure actually works, but Mauricio says that GSD will go wherever Mauricio is since Azul's life is on the line.

Manuel tries to kick Tavo out, but Lidia asks to speak to him. Tavo wants her to look him in the eyes and tell him it's not true that she and Piero are in cahoots to get money out of Lucia. She can't do it. Tavo doesn't want to hear explanations. He tells her that she got what she wanted and Piero was dying of jealousy. He says it's one thing to marry for money, but something else to try to sucker another woman out of her money. He says he doesn't have money, but at least he can walk with his head high because he's got dignity. Lidia cries and Manuel pushes Tavo out. Tavo says he's not coming back. Lidia says Piero will pay for this. She screams at Manuel to shut up when he tells her Tavo's not worth it. She says that now everyone thinks she's a prostitute and Clemencia was right--Manuel will never change, but Lidia says she will. She kicks Manuel out of the house and calls Lucia.

MM: Andres is tying Ceci up so she can't escape, but he tells her he can't kill her. Ceci tells him he can still save himself. He wants to know why she betrayed him since she's the only good thing he's ever had. Ceci says she was in love with him too and hoped it would be for life. Andres wonders what happened to them. Ceci's like "don’t EVEN ask me that if you're still obeying Mauricio like a robot!"

Outside, before Diego's execution can be carried out, the cops show up and bust Frick and Frack. Because it's Mexico, they show up with machine guns. Mr. 5ft was surprised until I reminded him of our last trip across the border…watching guys in uniforms walk around with those while you're shopping is interesting to say the least.

Andres is about to punch Ceci for betraying him to the cops, but something stops him.

Outside, Diego explains what happened. Two more cops show up with Ceci and Andres. Andres tries to BS that it was them who called the cops because Diego, who had previously kidnapped his boss' wife, had broken into the house. Diego counters that Mauricio kidnapped Azul. GSD and Emilia show up in the middle of all this wondering qué the hell is going on! Ceci corroborates Diego's story and tries to beg Andres to tell them where Mauricio took Azul, but so far he's not telling. Diego tries to run off and find her himself, but the cops won't let anyone go--plus they've all got to come down to the station and make statements.

Casa Moran: Lidia and Lucia enter Clemencia's bedroom and Lucia wants to know what's up. Clemencia tells her that Piero's the one who's been making her look like an idiot. Lidia assures her that she wants nothing more to do with Piero, so this isn't a plot to split up Lucia and Piero so that Lidia can have him. They tell Lucia the whole story, apparently, and Lidia asks for forgiveness, which Lucia denies them. And also, she won't forgive Manuel for fleecing her. Clemencia agrees that Manuel's a no good rotten bastard (ok, not in so many words). She encourages Lucia to get her life back together. Lucia's furious at Piero and Manuel, but Clemencia talks her into forgetting and starting over. Lucia tells Lidia that she cried like this the day Lidia took Piero away from her, but today Lidia's done her a huge favor. She thanks Lidia and walks out. Lidia and Clemencia hug and cry.

Manuel and Piero are having lunch, probably unaware of the meeting that just happened. Manuel tells Piero about what Clemencia overheard and that Lidia's no longer on their side, thanks to Tavo. Piero says he'll give Manuel money for a hotel. Piero also says that he doesn't know why, but Mauricio changed his mind and doesn't want anyone at the lab today (he had earlier said that Manuel should start working ASAP).

The lab: I swear, it's the same as the first lab (before GSD started working in the super-secret virus room) and they just moved some stuff around. Mauricio brings Azul and Caty in. Caty is either asleep or passed out and Azul puts her down on a table. Mauricio ties Azul's wrists together. Mauricio babbles some stuff about them being a happy family. Azul tries to point out that Caty has been damaged by knowing what Mauricio did. Mauricio says he did it because Liliana found out what he did for a living. Azul starts to say that Diego was right, but Mauricio goes all nutty at the mention of Diego's name…well, more nutty than usual anyway. Mauricio says that Azul has to stay with him because if not, she'll die.

At the police station, Ceci fills in Emilia on what happened. GSD says that having accused Diego earlier that day is causing some delays now. Ceci tells him that Andres is the one who knows all, but despite GSD and Diego almost beating the information out of him, Andres keeps denying that he knows anything. Everybody panics a little. Emilia suggests that GSD call Mauricio and tell him he needs to do some blood work. Mauricio points the gun at Azul before he answers. GSD fakes that he still doesn't know what's up with Azul, and so does Mauricio. GSD's like "no prob, and hey, I also need to check you out." Mauricio tries to say he's feeling fine, but GSD reminds him this is an experimental treatment and he won't take responsibility for anything that happens if Mauricio won't let him keep an eye on him. GSD makes a "no go" hand gesture at Emilia and Ceci.

Piero's office: Lucia comes in, all smiles, and announces to Piero that she's got his naturalization papers, but she won't let him look at them. She says she won't hand them over until he divorces Lidia. Piero says he wants to marry her after he's divorced. Lucia cracks and tells him she knows all about their plan. She tells him to get out. Piero responds by telling her he hates her and loves Lidia. Lucia gives him the envelope she was holding and he finds that it's an accusation she sent to immigration so they can deport him for his crimes in Spain. She tells him to get out of her office and her life.

Police station: Diego announces that with all their testimony, the cops think they have enough to get Mauricio. For now, it's just for kidnapping and threatening with a firearm. GSD just wants Azul saved. Andres still won't talk and Ceci asks to speak to him.

Lab: Perez Castellar has shown up and is like, "Dude, what were you smoking when you thought bringing them here was a good idea you fricking idiot!" or something like that anyway. PC complains about Mauricio harming their business and fills him in on the arrest of Andres. PC tells him that he's arranged the false papers, but if Mauricio ever wants to come back, he's going to have to pin everything on Andres. PC reminds him that Andres is the one who actually killed Abuelo and Paco and that there's no proof of any of the other crimes that Mauricio supposedly committed. Azul listens in horror (ok, it doesn't quite look like it, but just go with it for now).

Police Station: Ceci tells Andres to forget about everything but starting over. Andres wants to change and be with Ceci. Ceci says there's still time, maybe he can cut a deal with the cops.

Arnaldo has just shown up and is wondering why no one told him what was going on. GSD tries to make some excuse, but Arnaldo reminds them that Azul's been missing for 2 days without anyone letting him know. Emilia tells him that GSD finally got off his chain-smoking duff and found the cure. Perez Castellar shows up at the station, alarming GSD. Diego goes to tell the commandant.

PC visits Andres' cell and tells him that Mauricio is not only not going to get him out, but is going to sacrifice him. Mr. 5ft and I are in awe that PC would actually tell him that…what does he expect Andres to do?

The commandant is telling the peanut gallery (Ceci, Arnaldo, Diego, Emilia, and GSD) that it looks like Andres called in PC because he's ready to confess everything. The peanut gallery is relieved. GSD is optimistic that Andres will tell them where Azul is.

Manuel is lounging on a hotel bed when there's a knock at the door. Piero is moving in. He fills Manuel in about the immigration thing. The two guys realize that Mauricio's the only one who can help them. Let's just all have a moment of quiet contemplation of the level of stupidity these two have sunk to.

Casa Moran: Lidia brings up a tray of food so Clemencia doesn't take her pills on an empty stomach. She made Jello, it looks like. Tavo doesn't know what he's escaped from! Lidia says they've got to take care of each other now that Manuel's gone. Clemencia feels guilty about kicking Manuel out, but Lidia's finally realized he's a bad, bad daddy. Lidia says some of it was her fault, though, for paying attention to him. Clemencia realizes that Lidia's not just upset about Piero. Lidia confesses that Tavo's not returning her calls (hm, that wouldn't be because her idea of "food" is Jello and tea, would it?). Lidia just wants to tell him she's sorry and she made a mistake.

Piero is discovering that Mauricio isn't answering his calls. Manuel just wants to watch TV in peace. He gets all high and mighty over the fact that Mauricio once left Piero in jail, whereas he promoted Manuel to manager of the new lab. Piero makes the mistake of telling Manuel that it was just so that he could be the fall guy. Manuel demands an explanation, but Piero won't tell him. Now Manuel calls Diego.

Efrain's: He and Tavo share some beers while Efrain says "I told you so" about Lidia. Tavo's upset about being used. He can't believe she could have such an angelic face. Efrain talks about how Lidia cheated on Paco with Piero…he's just saying it so Tavo knows not to suffer over Lidia. Tavo says it still hurts, cause he'd gotten his hopes up. He hopes Lidia forgets him, because he never wants to see her again. Efrain gives Tavo an encouraging hug and a few slaps on the back.

Police Station: the cops, the peanut gallery, and PC are on the side of the bars with the desk, while Andres is behind the bars. PC asks if Andres is ready to confess to being the one and only killer of Paco and Abuelo. He says he also killed Leonarda, who's buried in the garden of Mauricio's house. PC starts lawyering that this proves that Mauricio had nothing to do with it, but Andres is mad as hell and he's not going to take it anymore! He says Mauricio ordered him to kill all those people. Eh, I know two wrongs don't make a right, but I'm ok with him lying about this if it gets Mauricio locked up. Ceci looks semi-adoringly at Andres, while PC looks like he just pooped his pants. Thus endeth the episode.

Tomorrow: Mauricio's still nuts, Azul and Caty are still traumatized. PC hands over the fake papers and the cops come to get him, but Mauricio shoots PC and crazies that he'll die first. We can only hope. They don't call it Ultimas Semanas for nothing!
