Hard to believe we only have until October 18 to get this horse across the finish line.

Bellas Calamidades
@Jean: are you still watching? Remind me why Dona Regina and Dona Lorenza are feuding? I recall their husbands both died ten years ago. But when Lorenza was in the hospital, Regina seemed really worried. I'm liking this, too bad I only see about 40 mins out of each 2-hour episode.

MARIDO Monday

Was this a slow episode or it was my fault for not paying too much attention?

Regardless, here goes:

Pati asks Toni once again to forget about her, they're over, done, finito, kaput!
Talking with Daniel, Tony says that he thinks this time he did lose Pati para siempre (one can only hope)
Pati goes to live with Gris for a while, until she gets back on her feet and decides what to do with her life
Rei finds out from Vanesa and goes to visit Pati; he understands her need to be away from TC, but he wished she stayed home, with them - he doesn't know how bad things got between Pati and TC, though, someone should really tell him stuff
TC is preparing her party, that will be the same day as Gris' party - What is the point? TC is sure nobody will come to Gris'.
Iris and Mario are taking care of the invitations and they send one to TC, too.

Marcela knows about TC's crime now and asks for money in order not to publish the whol thing in the paper.

No matter how much Barbie begs, Max still leaves her. He goes to start working for Ivan and gets invited to leave with him in his penthouse - poor Barbie, she really lost now.

Clara dumps Quique, she knows the reason he bailed on their dinner together was because of Barbie - he's still in love with the ex and she won't be just a pass time.

Q tells Gris that he'll never forgive Barbie, but Gris knows that she's now all alone; so she rightfully wonders if maybe Q won't be persuaded to help her.

The Marido en Alquiler shop is finally open, just like Celeste's cafe.

Simon asks Rei about Pati, wanting to make sure she's ok - can we make this couple happen??

TC leaves the house alone, without Manuel, which surprises Rei; she's meeting Fernando, she has a new deal to propose him - and this time he wants to be payed with some TC lovin'

Diosa kind of sets up a date between Ivan and Paloma, but Ivan has to ask in person for Paloma to accept (obviously, since on the Internet she would never find out in the first place) - and apparently Diosa has the hots for Gigante.

Barbie calls Gris' old house, Jose answers and gives her Q's cell.

NO JP tonight :(

MARIDO Monday

One more thing:

After talking with Pati, Rei and Gris have a brief talk in her living room. He thinks she's incredible and that's why Pati is turning to her - they gaze at one another, goo goo gaga a little, she gets all flustered and says she has to go.

Utah Desert, we request your intervention here, we need more details about the lovebirds to be.

BELLA CALAMIDADES

Hi J in Oregon. We still don't know why the two women who "used to be closer than sisters," as Marcelo said once are feuding except that it has something to do with the deaths of their husbands. The husbands were killed when they went off somewhere together. Maybe each widow blamed the other and the feud got started.

However, the reality is that the two women still care very much about each other. When Lorenza accidentally ingested the bovine purge meant for Lola, Regina was very upset. Regina just got a sweet Xmas card, unsigned but obviously from Lorenza.

I'm still watching this, obviously, but I can maybe see why it didn't make it to prime time here.

The Silvana and Priscilla harpies are so over the top and awful that it's hard to watch them. I like Danna Garcia and Segundo Cernadas and all the other characters but the plot with the innocent girl continually falling victim to the machinations of the evil women is pretty tired. But I'm watching anyway. ;-) (I also fast forward when Segundo sings - it's horrible!)

This is all you need to know: the truth is out!

(Well the Number One Truth is out. Mireya will be found out in the next two weeks.)

Here is the summary from On Demand:

Ignacia se entera que es hermana de Pedro y entra en shock. Pedro confronta a Margarita para saber la verdad. Gina le dice que es su hijo. Mariano confirma que es su padre.
(Ignacia finds out she's Pedro's sister and goes into shock. Pedro confronts Margarita to find out the truth. Gina tells him he's her son. Mariano confirms that he is his father.)

Sums it up rather nicely. On with the episode:

Estela is impacted by Ignacia's revelation that she knows about her and Tomás.

Tomás fails in his attempt to keep Reuben from his wedding. He succeeds in drugging him at his bachelor party but our hero The Squirrel realizes something is wrong and decides to follow Reuben when he leaves. He is able to drag Reuben back to Mariano's where he wakes him with a vase-ful of water.

Gema checks out working at the strip club. FF>>

The Justice of the Peace arrives and tells Margarita he is on a tight schedule so the ceremony needs to start on time. Lupita is inside and they hem and haw re: Reuben not being there. To me, Lupita looks more like a quinceañera than a bride.

Ignacia can't stand the sight of Tomás and Estela together so she goes inside into the kitchen. And this is where it begins. Lupita and Marge go outside to look for Reuben leaving Mariano and Gina alone. They speak rather loudly and who can not resist listening in on their conversation? Ignacia that's who! She hears the truth: that she and Pedro are siblings. Talk about impactada…Ignacia's hands are shaking violently. ¿Heeeermanossssss? You would look that way too if you just realized that you recently made love to your own brother. "Now I know why everyone was against our relationship."

Reuben shows up courtesy of Neto and Estela wants Tomás to do something to stop the wedding. "What do you want me to do?" Not to worry Estela..with all the revelations it's not going to happen.

The wedding is about to start but Mariano and Gina aren't out there so Pedro goes to get them. He sees Ignacia on the floor and goes to comfort her but she doesn't want him to touch her. Ignacia tells him that Marge is not his mother. Pedro goes outside and confronts Marge in front of all those people. She says that although she didn't give birth to him she did bring him up. "Then who is my mother?" Gina joins them. "I am." Tomás looks like he's enjoying all this. Meanwhile Mariano asks JM to get Ignacia out of there immediately. She is in the kitchen and tells JM that she doesn't want to live.

Gina tells Pedro that she came back to make up for all the lost time. Mariano admits that he is his father and explains how he was almost not born because Estela pushed Gina down a flight of stairs. And then it hits Pedro: "I fell in love with my own sister!" JM tries to leave with Ignacia and Tomás tries to take over but JM stands his ground.

Abuela tells Reuben that he Lupita are are paying the price for this tragedy. Mireya takes Pedro to her apartment and comforts him there. And she advises him to not go after Ignacia because, after all, their relationship is impossible. "Totally impossible." We close with that little hint of a smile on her face.

SANTA Monday Oct. 7 – Part 1

I will try again with a short recap of Monday's episode from my not-very-good memory.

Samanda tells Francisca that young Willie is not Santiago's child but is in fact her son. Fran doesn't believe it and asks if Bert knows about this. In comes Bert from his meeting with Lisette and to Samanda's surprise he says that he knew about it all along. He says that he knew that Fran wouldn't accept Samanda if she (Fran) knew that she (Samanda) had a child so he asked Santi to bring the kid to the Cano house and claim that the kid was his. Fran wants to know who the father is. Samanda says Willie's father is dead and that he died horribly. Fran wants more details but Bert tells her that it is none of her business. He tells Samanda that this is her house! Both Samanda and Fran are impactadas.

The above confrontation interrupted a meeting Lisette was having with Bert where she asked him to defend Ivan and gave him the letter that Ivan left for her. Unfortunately, Ivan's letter did not say that he was running away with Vicky. The letter could be interpreted as admitting to the crimes he is accused of.

The process server hands George the eviction notice but George tears it up. Then he gets a text with the address of Barbara's assignation with him.

Santiago tells Mara that he is going to play his saxaphone in the café to earn money to support his family because the Cano’s are in financial trouble. [How much could he possibly earn playing there?] Mara wonders how this will affect Bert’s investment in her business.

Elisa has a plan to get Mara and Lazaro back together.

Transito comes to the church to pay her respects to Carlos. She says that she loved him(!) even though we know that he nearly beat her to death. Anyway, she says that it for love for Carlos that she got involved in her current business.

Then Lisette shows up at the Church and asks Vicky to help Ivan. She tells Vicky some details of the crime that she didn’t know.

SANTA Monday Oct. 7 – Part 2

Santiago goes to see Vicente. He tells Vicente (with Paula listening) that he wants to set a date for the wedding and put Gloria and what happened in Guatemala behind him. Vicente reminds him that he is doing his duty by marrying Ines because he knocked her up, not because Vicente is blackmailing him about an event in his past. Vicente tells him that he wedding will be the next day. Santi responds that Ines wants a big wedding. “Tough,” replies Vicente, “we don’t have time or money for that.”

Pancho is named Chief of Police. Bert comes to see him about Ivan. Pancho lays out all the evidence that they have against Ivan. Bert goes to see Ivan who is less than helpful in his defense. He won’t explain what happened or why he left the letter and Bert goes away angry. Later, Ivan tells Carlos that he should investigate Patricio and that Vicky is in danger.

Paula calls Samanda about what she overheard and Samanda seems to be more interested right now in the shotgun wedding than in what might have happened in Guatemala. She confronts Santi about his upcoming marriage. She tells him that she loves him.

You’ve got to love Lucy. She complains that there are no show-business gossip magazines to read in the Robledo house and then asks Ines to get her a cup of coffee.

Ines meanwhile is trying to open a locked drawer. “No problem,” says Lucy. She pulls out a hairpin and opens up the drawer. You can see the light bulb go off in Ines’ head. She asks if Lucy can open anything. When Lucy brags on her skills as a lockpick, Ines whisks her off to the cabana of the cellar dweller. Lucy is working on the lock when Ines gets a call from Dad telling her that she is getting married the next day. Dippy Ines jumps in the car and zooms off leaving Lucy alone just as she gets the door open.

Lucy goes into the house [I guess there was no alarm system] and admires the bric-a-brac. She starts to pick up items [how is she going to get them home?] when she drops one and it breaks. The noise wakes up the cellar dweller who starts banging on a pipe.

George shows up at the hotel with a bunch of flowers. Whatever plan he had in mind to get back at Barbara goes out the window when he finds Babs in bed with two guys!! George almost throws up and runs out of the hotel. He goes home and starts packing.

MARIDO

Thanks, Adriana, for recapping. It was a slow evening in Miami, and I felt that a number of loose ends just continue to hang there with little happening - Ivan and Paloma, Jethro and Barbie, TC's secrets, the two same-day-same-time parties.

On the plus side, Gris looks lovelier every day, the hardware/handyman store has opened, Max has a new career and Tony MAY be getting the message.

Pati and Simon would be sweet. Chino could reappear. Or Jose could find gold bullion in the attic.

We need movement, writers!

Beth

DyO

Sue - ditto! Hooray! The Pedro secret is finally out. But what a horrible day for Loopy and Ru-ben. I had high hopes the wedding would happen when Neto got the groom to the 'hood, but, as AA said, bad timing.

Deb, did you predict a JM/Iggy engagement last week? Good call - it looks like you were right.

Tomas and Mireya had a lot to smirk about, but their satisfaction can only last 9 more days at most.

Estela was hilarious - trying to strangle Gina in broad daylight in front of dozens of wedding guests and the justice of the peace.

I keep wondering how the Iggy paternity secret will come out. Not much time left to tie up all the loose ends in this story.

Beth

SANTA

Jean, thanks for the great recap. I didn't get to watch the full episode, so I missed the Babs and 2(!) guys in bed scene. No wonder George is packing his bags!

For an intelligent young man, Ivan was deliberately dense with Bert, not cooperating with his own defense. Ivan seems to think that protecting Vicky means doing nothing for himself. Maybe he hasn't grasped the notion of life in prison.

Samanti must be the low cal couple of the year, zero chemistry. I can't believe that these two are the protagonists.

I was glad to see Bert back in smooth mode, telling Fran and Sam that he'd known about Guillermo all along. Carlos Ponce plays this role so well, he's a delight to watch.

So George tore up the eviction notice. The Canos are going to have an unpleasant surprise. Bert will have to talk fast to put off the sheriff.

Beth

SANTA:

Thanks for the recap, Jean. Sounds like another doozy of an episode (which I haven't seen yet because of football last night). I think this time you got all the names right, except maybe once you said Carlos when you meant Pancho ("later, Ivan tells Carlos..."). But I got the meaning.

I'm fairly sure Santiago already told Samanda the whole story about Gloria in Guatemala, so that's why Sam is only concerned with the upcoming wedding, not with what happened in Guatemala. I think Santiago should just tell everyone what happened in Guatemala, since he was framed by a druglord, and maybe they'd believe him (at least Fran would, and maybe she could influence Vicente, her lover).

Yes, I agree, you gotta love Lucy.

SANTA:
I can't keep Carlos and Pancho straight even when one of them is dead!! I think I keep mixing up the names because deep down I believe that the grungy, hispanic-looking, now dead, cop should have been named Pancho and the well-dressed, anglo-looking cop should have been named Carlos.

1. Estela will fess up. This is not likely condsidering how long she has kept this secret. Also she can use this to keep Ignacia from "ese naco de Pedro."

2. Enrique, if he's still alive, will come to LA looking for his child. That is, if he knows he has one.

3. Is Enrique's picture still at Mariano's apartment? I brought this up a few days ago. Four interested parties can get their hands on it.

We shall see how this plays out.

Tks Jean

I thought that notice Geo was ripping up was to get him out of Casa Cano.

I got the feeling Fri Night that Transito was in love with Carlos, just couldn't understand why. Some women like abuse.

Was the cellar dweller complaining about the noise? Now how is Lucy going to deal with this? When does Vicente show to feed his prisoner? Who takes the trash out?

S&S are so boring. Everyone else is so much more interesting.

DyO
Sue455, thanks so much for summing up last night's shocking episode! It felt like a big dose of laxative finally hit this novela. Bloommppp!!! All at once!

Beth--Estela and Tomas did provide some of the best moments of (unintended) comedy last night. Tomas had a look of glee on his face when the whole paternity thing came out. JM also looked happy that Tomas has yet to learn about their investor backing out. "I think you'd better hear it directly from Gina", he tells Tomas.

One more loose end: Petra said she was invited to the wedding and asked Angel to go with her. I'm surprised they didn't make it, so Angel could comfort Loopy.

J in Oregon

SANTA:
Variopinta: The guy came to deliver the notice to Bert so I am pretty sure that it was an eviction notice because Gaspar's creditors are seizing the property to pay off his debts. George said that he would give the notice to Bert and then ripped it up.

I think the only notice that would have gotten George out of the house is if Babs had filed for divorce.

Santa
Tks Jean, I miss so much, TG for the recappers.

MARIDO:

Thanks for the recap, Adriana. Somehow, I can't see TC agreeing to pay Fernando for any kind of deal with her body. She seems so unable to relax, so constricted, hyper, and of course so prim and proper in her own mind. That (and her beauty) may be why Fernando desires her, because she's sort of unattainable.

But I have seen other shows where the rich, stuck up woman "slums it", and we see a whole other side of her (such as Un Gancho al Corazon).

Yessiree, TG for the recap Jean.

The scene with Barbara was sort of gross and pathetic, on Barbara's part that is. OK, this sounds pretty loca, and I promise I am not, my family will vouch for me, I would have had more respect if she had shot George! Barbie hasn't heard the last of George I am sure. He has a copy of the damning evidence for the Cano family.

HdM - You can be positive. Santa did tell Santi all about the Guatemala story one day. She wouldn't run away with him unless she knew all about his secret.

Epi tonight is supposed to be good because the Telemundo guy said so! Woohoo!

One more thing. These loose ends bug me. Where would George have gotten the money to invest with Mr Cowboy Hat? And why doesn't Barb seem to care too much about her jewelry that George took to pay off his "creditor"? Still no explanation as to why Bert drugged Santa? I would want to know straight away!

DyO

Sue - in the Iggy paternity revelations you listed, finding the picture of Iggy's father seems the most probable. Except for us out here in the peanut gallery, no one knows about Iggy's father, and Estela has no reason to divulge that secret. Also, we don't even know if Mariano and/or AA knew Iggy's father or could recognize his photo. A fourth possible option is that Estela, on her death bed (who knows?), is told by the priest (who is bound by the privilege of the confessional) that she has to tell Iggy the truth or Estela will burn in hell for eternity.

Beth

SANTA:

I've now watched the episode and there were a few more developments. First, Vicky and Carlos's younger brother Ulysses came to the church to pay his respects. The Padre said that guy should never have returned to this city!

And Amanda went to visit Ines, and demanded to know EVERYTHING about Willy Delgado!

BTW, the note that Ivan wrote said something like, I'm not sorry for what I've done. I take full responsibility for all my actions. Of course, he's talking about his relationship with Vicky. But both Lisette and Bert think Ivan was talking about killing Carlos. Bert was extremely stupid, for a smart attorney, to completely ignore what his client was saying about Patricio doing it, protect Victoria. So what if this doesn't fit your preconceived ideas, Bert. Why ignore it?

Fortunately, when Ivan said the same things to Pancho, to investigate Patricio, what do you have to lose?, Pancho at least showed a spark of interest, and maybe he will investigate.

MARIDO:

I this Gris has borrowed Pati's clothes (just kidding). But it is the same long pink loose flare pants, and light colored jacket over a shell. Except that Gris is way taller, I'd swear it was the exact same outfit.

I think Diosa's meddling is going to backfire at some point.

There was actually a short scene with JP, when Esther came into the office to work, he felt she should just rest at home, this being her first pregnancy, and she being no jovencita. She didn't appreciate this, saying she'll keep working til the last possible minute. You tell him, Esther!

MARIDO

I think Gris only bought one beige jacket because she's been wearing it for a few days now.

HdeM- I totally agree with you about Bert and Pancho listening to Ivan. Bert looks like he really does not want to be there.

SANTA:
Thanks, Hombre, for filling in what I missed. I remembered the brother but thought that it was in the previews. I totally forgot about Samanda going to see Ines.

DYO

OMG, J, your laxative metaphor was PERFECT!!! I especially enjoyed the sound effect :)

I thought Jose and Ana did a fabulous job with their horrified reactions! Ana especially, with the trembling and the collapsing... two weeks just doesn't seem plausible to get all of these loose ends tied up without a major rush job (especially with the Gema about to hit the El Duro fan)!! How much you want to bet they'll keep the Iggy paternity secret going until the last or second-to-last episode??

Ruben was adorable with his bow tie, but I totally agree that Lupita looked like she was going to her quinceañera!!

Neto saves the day, AGAIN. What a sweetheart. I was so glad to see Tomas's plan foiled!

Marido

Are Griselda's invitations actually going to arrive in the hands of the invitees? That would be a first for a telenovela. I don't see any motivation for Iris and Mario not sending them, so perhaps TC will send Ro to intercept them. And let's not even get into how Clara is worth a hundred Barbies, and Jethro is far stupider than his namesake.

But well, since Adriana asked, here's the Rei-Gris 'ship update:

First of all, Simon is clearly a shipper, because when he hears Reinaldo say that he doesn't know whether to call Patty or Griselda for an update, he says that the solution is clearly to talk to them both at once--at Griselda's house. Of course, no sooner are the words out of his mouth than Reinaldo is out the door and on his way over there.

A scene or so later the doorbell rings at Griselda's mansion, and she heads over to answer it, in a rather bad temper. Incidentally, she's already adopted one of the most inexplicable (for me) customs of rich ladies in telenovelas--that is, she wears ridiculously high heels when at home alone.

When she opens the door and sees Reinaldo, she's immediately flustered, in a happy kind of way. Meanwhile Rei is having a hard time reducing his mega-watt smile to proportions appropriate for someone whose daughter has just suffered a miscarriage and had her heart broken. From the way his eyes are moving as he looks at Gris, it's clear that he's now taking in all the details of her new look that he wasn't able to absorb in the hospital scenes.

Although Rei says that he came over because of Vanessa telling him Patty was there, he still seems a bit disappointed when Gris suggests taking him upstairs to talk to Patty in the guest room. After she escorts him there, she excuses herself, which is probably a good thing because only now does he succeed in putting a serious expression on his face.

Marido

The Rei-Gris 'ship for Monday, continued:
True, Reinaldo can't resist talking about Griselda: "She has behaved..." Patty finishes the sentence for him, "The way I wish my mother had behaved." He listens open-mouthed as she continues, "Griselda is a marvelous woman," lists off her other wonderful qualities, and says, "I feel a great admiration and affection for her."

Reinaldo happily agrees that Griselda is a very special woman, but he then manages to pull himself out of his blended family fantasies long enough to point out the awkwardness of Patty staying there, given the, you know, Antonio situation.

Downstairs Griselda is getting off the phone with Celeste, mentioning she'll have something to tell her about later. As she hangs up, she comments to her Virgencita, "Reinaldo in my house! Upstairs!" A moment later she sobers up and muses that perhaps it was not such a great idea to buy a house right across from his. However, she's still smiling.

And she and Reinaldo are smiling just as much when he stops to talk to her on his way out of the house, even as they discuss the awkward topic of Antonio. Reinaldo tells her, "Patricia admires you very much, and she feels a lot of affection for you." He takes a couple steps towards Griselda as he adds, "And now I know exactly why," as we all hold our breath. But then he just says that he is in her debt, and she replies that this is what friends are for, to support each other.

At this he takes her hand and kisses it. (Because this is what Juan Soler is for.) She gets flustered and says something about not being used to this (I believe). He continues to hold onto her hand and asks her in a hopeful kind of way whether this bothers her. At this her voice goes a couple notches higher, and she gives an embarrassed laugh as she almost pushes past him, saying that she has to go and see Celeste. The effect he has on her is clearly registering with him and making him happy, so he follows up by asking if he can come by and check on Patricia any time.

"Of course, whenever you like," Griselda says this on behalf of herself and well over half of all the viewers. They go to shake hands and he quickly leans forward to steal a second hand-kiss, and immediately follows it up with a softer third one, before finally leaving.

On a more personal note: It just occurred to me that it's been much too long since I've spent time in Poland, where hand-kissing was a standard way for men to greet women, and more than one flirtation of mine began in just this way.

Marido

oh wow,

UtahDesert, you do these intimate scenes so well!

(I don't really get all of the conversation so I really appreciate this)

and hand kissing for real, I need to travel more.

the longer you wait to tell him, the worse it will be,
Pedro and Ignacia are walking into 30 years of lies.

DYO martes 8 de octubre Part 1

Inevitable commentaries on Lo Que Pasó: Marge fears Pedro will never speak to her again; Gina says, no, he'll be angry with me for abandoning him; Abuela knew this day would come but it tuned out worse than she could have imagined; and Mariano reaffirms the truth had to come out to prevent a tragedy.

Lupita has retreated to her bedroom and doesn't want to see anyone, not even Reuben. Petra and Angel observe the goings on; Angel wants to comfort Lupita but Petra says they should just go home.
Mireya muses to a sleeping Pedro that his relationship with that b¡tch is over and she didn't even have to lift a finger.

Estela is speaking to Tomás but he's not paying attention. "I should have killed her [Gina] when I had the chance. But all this is advantageous for you…Ignacia and Pedro will never see each other again. She will be alone and vulnerable…Isn't that what you want? Or do you want that pobrecita in the wheelchair?" Tomás doesn't answer and goes to his room. He remembers when Ignacia tells him she's getting a divorce.

At Mariano's Ignacia asks Abuela how long she's known. "Not very long." "You didn't bother to tell me..you let our relationship go forward." "Margarita didn't want Pedro to know that she wasn't his birth mother." "No one thought about me! Now what do I do? I have all this love…and now when I think of him all I want to do is die." Mariano comes home. "And you…I'll never forgive you either. All I wanted was to start anew. It's not fair…it's not fair!" Mariano takes her into his arms. He tells her that Gina told him their son lived in London and although he had his doubts he chose to believe her. "Abuela told me the truth. I want you to know I'm here for you…to answer any questions." This sets Ignacia off: "Answer questions? How am I supposed to go forward in my life now?" The doorbell rings. JM answers–it's Tomás. The Last Person in the World Ignacia Wants To See offers his support. After he leaves Abuela asks what got into him? (lit. what insect bit him?) and Ignacia says he's the only person who has said anything sensible.

Reuben tells Marge that he's not leaving until he speaks to Lupita. Marge asks where Pedro is and Gina tells her he's still at Mireya's. Marge heads for the door and Gina advises her to stay put. Marge: "I may not have given birth to him but I brought him up and I know what he needs." Gina wants to go with her and Marge tells her to stay behind. At Mireya's Marge tells Mireya that she had a bad feeling when she woke up this morning and she knew something bad was going to happen. She touches Pedro's hair and he wakes up. He shrinks away from her and calls her "señora" instead of "Mamá." He tells her he's going away and no one will ever hear from him again. He apologizes to Mireya: "If I had stayed with you than a lot of people wouldn't be hurting right now."

Isabel is talking to Gema about her encounter with JM. Isabel faints (sigh) and when she comes to she says it's probably because she hasn't eaten all day and her blood pressure went up. Gema knows her telenovela law and asks if she and JM used protection. Isabel says no and is horrified that she might be pregnant. They get a pregnancy test and of course, it's positive. Petra overhears the conversation, basically tells Isabel she's a slut, and that she is dead to her. Nice mom.

DYO martes 8 de octubre Part 2

The Barbie Saga:
Lorenzo assigns Barbie to a bachelor party. She thinks it's odd that she's the only one going. She tries to call Zafiro but gets voice mail. A driver takes her to a beautiful mansion. She looks like she's going to enjoy herself until she sees the man who answers the door. It's one of El Duro's thugs. While she's undressing she tries to call Lorenzo but said thug comes into the room. She says that she's not feeling well and was calling to get a replacement. He won't let her leave. He tells her she turned down El Duro and now she is going to get a taste of everybody. Here, bachelor party is code for gang rape.

Neto drops by Marge's to ask how everything is. Gina tells him nothing's changed. He takes out the letter from the County and says to himself he should see what this is about. Lupita comes out of her room. Reuben tells her that none of what happened is their fault. In spite of this, she tells him she can't marry him. "Do you think Ignacia will accept me as her sister-in-law? Our families will never be united. Imagine our daughter's birthday or Christmas." After that squeaky performance I wouldn't blame Reuben one bit if he left her. Imagine having to listen to that for the rest of your days. Anyway, outside Reuben yells at Pedro that it's not fair that he has also lost the woman he loves.

Hurrah! A loose end has been tied up! Neto reads the letter and it states that he has received an inheritance from an uncle. He runs outside shouting, "I'm rich! I'm rich! My millionaire uncle died and I'm the only heir!" He does a cute happy dance. He goes to tell Mireya and says the first thing he will do when he gets his money is pay for an operation so she can walk again. Uh oh! Prudencio warns him that the inheritance could be full of debts. Neto is too happy to consider this thought.

Tomás slithers into the hood as Gina comes out of the house. He tells her that JM told him she has bad news. She admits that her lawyer invested all of her money and lost it. She doesn't have a cent to her name. Tomás, of course, is furious. "You signed a contract and I will make you honor it." "Then sue me, but you won't get one cent because I don't have any money." "What's going to happen to my firm? We are not going bankrupt because of a stupid naca like you. You're going to regret this. I'll make sure you pay."

Lupita is shouting, "No Pedro!" Everyone runs outside (Mireya wheels) and sees Pedro with his bags packed. Lupita, who has changed out of her quince…I mean bridal gown, is begging Marge to make him stay. He says he wanted to leave without saying goodbye so he wouldn't hurt anyone even more. Warped logic. Marge says they can work things out. Gina says she should be the one to leave. Mireya begs him to stay but he says he's not gong back to her or to anyone.

Angel is walking up a street when El Duro and his henchmen pull up. Angel swears he'll get the money he owes El Duro and will do anything he wants. El Duro says he wants to see him dead. He holds a pistol to Angel's head.

Tomás returns home and tells Estela they have to think of something quickly or else the firm will go under and they will both be out on the street. He goes upstairs and Estela says that Gina isn't going to keep ruining her life. "I'll kill you first." I guess Karina was good training.

Prudencio goes to see Marge. She doesn't want to talk just now. But he asks her if Pedro is the reason that she broke off with him 30 years ago.

Ignacia hears a knock at the door. It's Pedro and he has come to say goodbye.

SANTA DIABLA, Martes, Part 1

Inés has no intention of telling Samanda anything about Willy Delgado, parrying Sam’s inquiry with “why should you want to know?” Well, replies Sam, I’m just looking for a music teacher, too. Inés thinks why would Samanda need a music teacher? Besides, she’s getting ready for her wedding tomorrow. And then she, Santi and Guillermo will live happily ever after. Not Guillermo, corrects Sam. Because willy is MY SON! Inés is shocked, but Sam says you can ask Bert, or Fran, or Santiago. We kept it a secret, but now it’s out. Inés doesn’t reveal any more about Willy D., but her hesitant attitude makes Sam suspicious. And she apparently knows nothing of Willy’s death, just says she hasn’t heard from him in two years.

Meanwhile, Lucy had been left alone at the cabaña, with the door open, and Inés driving off. When she drops a vase, this awakens the cellar dweller, who bangs on some pipes. Lucy is freaked out, and runs out, not even closing the door. Somehow, she makes it back to Inés’ place, and reams her out for leaving Lucy with no transportation. But after she tells of the strange sounds, Inés decides to go right back there. Not yet, as Vicente enters, you’re not going anywhere, get upstairs, we’ve got a wedding tomorrow. Of course this won’t stop Inés, who sneaks out from upstairs, gets in the car, and zooms off unobserved.

At the hospital, Elisa has come to look for Mara. Mara isn’t there, and Horti and Elisa have another of their verbal spats. Vicente happens to be there at this point, and after Elisa walks off, Horti says to Vicente, can you believe the nerve of those people? But Vicente isn’t there, he’s gone after Elisa. He catches up to her, and tells her he understands her. He starts putting the moves on Elisa, who turns him down flat, wondering how he can be so brazen as to hit on her.

Mara meets with Bert, she’s heard his family has money problems. She offers to buy out Bert’s half of her café, and he accepts. She gives him a check. Later, she comes to the café, and it’s all decorated for a private romantic dinner, with flowers and a personal chef. And here’s Lázaro, dressed in a tux. It doesn’t take Mara long to realize this was her mother’s plan. She reminds Lázaro that she doesn’t love him, loves only Arturo, and always will. They’ll have to be just friends. Lázaro takes this in stride, says then friends it is, takes off his jacket and tie, says let’s just hang out and watch TV. Mara is surprised, but says okay.

Bárbara’s stunt of telling George they were going to reconcile in a hotel room, then letting him catch her in bed with two guys, has had the desired effect. She tells him if you’re any kind of a man, you’d never stay with me now. And yes, George packs his bags and leaves. Barb is overjoyed, finally! George also meets with Alexander Wayne, we still don’t know if this is a scam or not.

Daniela tells Bert that Iván would never take drugs, but Bert says sometimes people fool you. He thinks Iván is guilty, with all the “convincing” evidence found on him. Pancho decides to check out Iván’s statement that Patricio did it, and asks Pat where were you at the time of the murder? Pat has this all planned out, tells Pancho he was at the Trebol de Oro, talking to Transito. But no, he’s never used the “services” of that locale, he was just telling Transito his troubles. Pancho interviews Transito, who says the same thing. But Vicky isn’t so sure about all this, having heard about this alibi.

SANTA, Part 2

Vicky’s younger brother Ulysse is here to comfort her. He tells her that he’s happy in New York, and has a girlfriend. He asks if Vicky has someone special. After hesitating, she confides in him, saying yes, I do, he’s 18 years old. And he’s been accused of the murder of Carlos! Ulysse is taken aback, but is there to support his sister. Vicky asks him to go to the jail and talk to Iván, try to see if Iván is telling the truth.

Iván didn’t help Bert in his defense, because when Bert said what is the real meaning of the letter, Iván didn’t want to admit to an affair with Vicky. So he’s stuck, and his hearing is in two days (thanks, novelas for shortening our wait time :) He’ll either be freed or send to county jail for a long sentence. Okaaaay.

We also have our wedding in ONE day, and although Inés is very upset that it won’t be special and have that magic she always envisioned, Vicente is firm, look, daughter, you’re pregnant, we can’t wait, we can’t have you showing, and humiliate our whole family. Problem is, as we know (but Vicente doesn’t), Inés is NOT pregnant. But she decides she really has to get pregnant pronto to make all this work. We saw her drive away from her home, but it wasn’t back to the cabaña, it was to see BERT, and she asks him to do the honors! (get her pregnant). Now! Bert looks at her hot body, but he’s currently into Samanda, and declines. I think.

Samanda, Paula and Begoña have a strategy session back at Paula’s place. Sam reveals that Inés had a photo of Willy, and when confronted, gave a story about Willy being her music teacher. But this can’t be, Sam knew everything about Willy, and this was never mentioned. Paula wonders if Willy was hiding something, maybe he and Inés were lovers! No way, says Sam, Willy was faithful, he’d be incapable of doing that (we see Begoña with a VERY guilty look, as we know Willy and SHE had something goin’). Still, Sam is very concerned about Inés and Willy. Paula then brings up the fact that she heard Inés and Vicente arguing about a cabaña, Inés saying that Vicente had something hidden there. But what?

Enter Santiago. He and Sam have the usual love/tears/blank looks, as she’s married to his brother, he’s marrying Inés, blah, blah, blah, but then Sam asks if Inés ever mentioned a cabaña. She sure did (that’s actually where Inés drugged Santi and pretended they had sex). Sam wants to go there. Now. She and Santi hop into his truck and drive out there. The door is open. Santi wants to leave. Not Sam, who walks right into the house. They start discussing their usual problems, and Sam tells him, I’m TIRED of being Amanda Brown. Ever since I’ve been Amanda Brown, I’ve had nothing but problems. I want to go back to being Santa Martinez!

Down below, the cellar dweller hears this. Chains grind as he achingly pulls himself out of his deep slumber. He turns over. We see a huge shock of black hair, long beard and a face. And (as all of us Telemundies already knew), we see who it is — Willy Delgado!!!!

No show tonight, Music Awards show. Can’t wait for our next episode. The wedding? The trial? Willy D?

DyO
Omigosh Sue, thank you so much for the big BIG recap! And we now have another full day to mull things over.

I am so irritated at stupid Marg! Her selfish insistence on keeping the truth from Pedro was to blame for the whole meltdown of her family. But she still doesn't get it; it's still about her keeping Pedro at her side, regardless of the cost. And I hate her simpering!!!

Yay for Neto and his inheritance, but there's got to be a catch. Good zinger when he offered to help Mireya get an operation so she can walk.

There's alot of ground still to cover, esp if there's futbol next Tuesday....

MARIDO Tuesday

part 1

Fernando explains TC that the only way he’ll ever help her again is if he has her naked body waiting for him in a bed – he deserves this, after the clean up job he did for her a while ago. TC is not a cheat, though, she refuses, but Fernando suggests that he could take care of Rei, too, if necessary.

Kike swears to Gris that he won’t help Barbie, no matter what. Even if he did still have feelings for her, she’ll never make a fool out of him again.
Paloma comes to visit, together they put an ad on the Internet, to find women employees – maridas en alquiler.
Also, the pair of overalls is now framed on the wall.

Marcela calls Fina estampa. Esther answers and pretends to be a secretary. Marcela doesn’t recognize her, though, and asks to speak to JP.
But JP has no time for Marcela’s nonsense, so he asks Esther to give her a message: to go to Hell. Esther does just that, adding her two cents, after saying her actual identity to Marcela.

Simon asks Rei how things went with Pati at Gris’ house. Well, Pati will stay there and Gris is so incredible she banned Tony from the house – she’s so unlike TC… but Rei can’t even bring himself to care about his wife’s bad character, anymore.

Amalia meets Pati at the house, they have a future BFF’s chat about being in love and hurting. Pati tries to be optimist, though, maybe love will come to their lives again (she doesn’t seem to believe it, though).

TC tells Manuel that she’s going to visit Pati across the street. Manuel tells Ro, who freaks out, but doesn’t dare to interfere. He does go to listen at the door, though, and Elsa, too.

TC startles Pati by just showing up next to her, but there is no fighting this time. TC assures Pati that she misses her very much and whenever she is ready to go home, they’ll be waiting. She seems genuine, but TC is such an over the top character, it all comes out phony and fake. But I guess this is the best that TC can do when it comes to showing true emotion.

At the moto shop, Susana is trying to offend Rafa by saying he was not the stud he thinks he is, but he has no ears for her, he’s obviously still hurting because of Amalia. So he just tells Susana he never liked her, he only used her and she’ll never have him again, no matter how many evidence she gathers against him.
The fight is interrupted by Ivan, who comes with Max – this is his first day of work. And in a few days he’ll have his first private lesson with a client.
Apparently, this service will be for the very rich, the VIP’s, as Gabe tells Clara. Also, they’re sure Max lost all her money because of Barbie.

And talking about Barbie, the hotel stuff is trying to get her out of the room. She screams, begs, tries to seduce the man in charge in a rather funny scene…Finally, she calls Kike’s old house, Jose answers, but before he can get rid of her, she decides that she’ll come for a visit.
This doesn’t sit well with Jose or Elio, because the house is a mess, but Barbie is too crazy to reason with.
And yes, she wants to stay at the house with Jose for a while. She’ll take Gris’ room, thank you very much…
Jose runs to tells K, who is at Gabe’s bar. He calls Gabe ‘garçon’, leaves without paying, both actors have great comedic timing.

Paloma’s ad brought a huge crowd of women willing to work for Gris. So Gris has no other option but to interview them all.
Gris is interviewing several women, some are better for the job than others.
Tony and Daniel arrive at Gris’ new shop, too, and so does Beatriz, who is an engineer. Tony offers to give his mom her CV, I’m not sure if he’s flirting with her or he’s just boasting with the fact that he is the son of the boss lady. Hm…

MARIDO Tuesday

Part 2

On another ‘maybe couple’ front, Pati goes to see Rei and meets Simon. He asks why she got out of bed, there is plenty of stuff one can do in bed…ahem, meaning read, watch a movie, play cards… He promises to be there for Pati in case she needs something. She thanks him, he’s always been so good to her, ever since she was a little girl. (Auch…) Yeah, but you’re not one, anymore, Simona notices…Hehehe
Rei interrupts the chat (bad timing, dude!)

TC calls Marcela: she’s ready to attend to her request. (Marcela is toast!)

K arrives at Gris’ old house, where Barbie feels like reminiscing about old times and how happy she used to be. But K won’t hear any of it, he knows she’s there only because she has no more money. Yeah, it’s true, but how about he helped her, out of pity or for old time’s sake, if not for love?listen the fight from downstairs, they don’t like the situation, they’re afraid she’ll find out what they’re doing. Jose has an idea, though…

Pati tells Rei that TC came to see her. Just then TC calls and Rei puts her on speaker. TC tells Rei that she asked Pati to come back at the house and offered her support. After TC hangs up Pati agrees that TC was telling the truth, but there is something in her that forbids her to trust her mom, she’s afraid to do so even if she doesn’t know why.

K tells Barbie that he’d want nothing more than to see her under a bridge. He’s very angry, she tries to take advantage of his temper, seduce him. He doesn’t cave, though, he literally drags her out of the house.
I have to wonder about his rage, though…If he is only furious because she abandoned little K, he’s too violent and over the top. If he’s doing it because of that and because he knows Barbie is there just because she has no other place to go and she’s still a desgraciada, then yes, maybe, his rage is legitimate, but I still think it’s too much.
So, what I think is that he’s hiding his true feelings behind all this anger – he knows that if he doesn’t scream and shout and manhandle her, he’ll surrender to her encantos.

Once outside, K and Barbie scream some, little K’s name comes up, too; then Barbie runs in the streets, threatening to kill herself.
K reluctantly follows her, and so do Jose, Elio and Gigante – they all heard the noise.
Barbie goes into the ocean, apparently she can’t swim and she wants to drawn… K looks on, not knowing what to do.

SANTA:

THANKS HOMBRE!!! The big reveal finally happened and of course the cellar dweller is Willy. It will be very interesting to find out how and why Vicente let everyone think that Willy was killed in prison and then decided to chain him up in the cellar. We know that Ines and Willy must have gotten involved BEFORE Barbara had him sent to prison.

So Bert finds out from Pancho that Ivan's trial is in two days and there's nothing that he can do about it, like file a motion, for example. Justice sure is quick in Marrero.

Mara's cafe must be doing REALLY well if she can buy out Bert's investment after only being open for what seems like a couple of weeks.

I wonder if Ulysse knows about Carlos' criminal activities. The padre didn't seem too happy to see him.

MARIDO:

Thanks for the recap, Adriana!

I think Barbie has nothing to worry about in the ocean, her "enhanced" boobs and butt will float, no?

I guess if Simon and Pati become a couple, that solves one problem, but he does seem a little old for her. As for Amalia, we have to find her some guy.

Susana could end up getting herself fired with her constant yelling at Rafa.

I enjoyed that one young lady aspirant for a job with Gris, who was allergic to paint and to dust, and who was a reporter, too! Well, that alone should disqualify her.

Esther sure likes her tacos (and Gabe?).

Marido

Barbie WAS great in that hotel room scene! By the way, after she makes her semi-veiled offer to the hotel employee in charge, he replies, "I'm gay," and gives her just half an hour to get out.

DYO

The Barbie stotyline was confusing to me as I was recapping it. On Demand has not posted Friday's episode so I wonder if there was anything there that I should have known.

Santa

Tks Hombre

2 years chained in a cellar can make a guy quite hairy. Probably very overripe too, no shower. I was happy to see the toilet though.

Didn't Willy dump Inez when he found out she was preg? If he got it on with Inez, why not Barbara? And especially being such a scumbag to come on to Begoña.

MARIDO

Utah, thank you for yesterday recap of Rei and Gris' talk. I enjoy your take on things very much.

I hadn't noticed the hotel guy saying eh was gay, but Barbie was a hoot trying to seduce him.
This show does the comedy parts really well, which is so surprising for a tn...
Even the actors who are supposed to play it straight, like JP and Esther, end up being funny just because they try to act as normal as possible.

DyO

thanks so much for the recap Sue!

I didn't really follow the Barbie story until you laid it all out, there was one other small part where ED is talking to Lorenzo from his car and asks if Lorenzo took care of that matter for him, and Lorenzo says he did. I guess they are trying to say NO one messes with ED.

I keep waiting for someone to come to the conclusion that they should always tell the truth, but... of course Mireya does this speech best, from her wheelchair.

so Angel didn't get his foot in the door with Loopita, well not as yet.

wow, Petra gets the mom of the year award, NOT, did she throw Invisabel out, I thought it was Invisabel's place, who else pays the bills, (and lets not mention Petra being a single mom)

wasn't ED on his way to Mexico (Benjamin?) when he stopped for a chat with Angel,
maybe Barbie will try to buy her way out of the bachelor party with news of Gema.

Santa

stellar recap Hombre!
and many thanks Jean for Monday's.

Ines is really wrapped up in that little world she lives in, when Lucy is no longer important she just drives off, ha, a real crisis in finding a wedding dress, but she's smart too, running to Humberto so the dna would match, but when Vicente was looking for Ines, I was wondering where Lucy was, and why Pancho was leaving his loaded gun in the middle of the living room.

Ivan is totally screwed having Humberto for a lawyer, this is worse than having none, so far Humberto has totally ignored everything Ivan has tried to tell him, as well as Daniela, and knows nothing about what happened.

Vicente hitting on Elisa, ha, this guy is slime in a suit.

and Hortensia jumping all over Lisette, to care for her grandchild, stuffing vitamins in her mouth, whoa, this isn't going to last long.

I keep thinking Lázaro is Elisa's age, and am not getting a match for Mara.

that was so bizarre, Ulises telling of his life and love in NY, and Victoria telling of hers, Ivan, 18, accused of killing their brother, and Ulises seems worried about the 18 part, and Patricio is listening, this other guy hanging around is sure a fly in the soup, but they did leave us with some hope when Victoria asked her brother to go talk to Ivan.

and the maximum security prison is always there to suck in another innocent victim, I'm sure the inmates are just waiting for a new toy.

an honorary member of the Venganza Girls, Santiago showing up at Paula's for their club house meet is starting to remind me of a stray puppy looking for a home.

so what was the cellar dweller doing when Ines, Santiago, and Vicente were there on there first date?

Marido

thanks so much Adriana!

so the theme song is different this week?

I guess TC and Fernando didn't really reach an agreement, but it seems like TC is going ahead with a plan to solve the Marcela problem,

wow, K dragging Barbie by the heels, and they didn't show it but he must have pulled her down the stairs that way as well, didn't Jose say in passing, something about damaging the gluteus?

I'm not really following the part where Jose is doing this tap, tap, thing destroying the whole house while Elio drinks a beer and no one seems to notice, but why would anyone care, and what's wrong with Barbie living there, well, other than Jose doesn't want her around.

SANTA:

Deb, good point about what was the cellar dweller doing during Santi and Ines's "date".

Since we don't know who the lovechild of Fran and Vicente is, Bert and Ines could be siblings, so they shouldn't have sex.

MARIDO:

If Barbie lives in the house, she'll discover they're trying to find a treasure, and Elio said he doesn't want to give her a share of the booty.

SANTA:

It sort of seemed like they were suggesting that the cellar dweller could only hear loud noises upstairs. He was roused when Ines dropped the vase and when Samanda started shouting. I guess the two times that Ines was there - with Santi and when she followed her Dad, not that much noise was made or, more likely, it wasn't convenient for the writers to have the cellar dweller start banging on a pipe then ;-).

DYO

It's hard for me to believe a loving mother like Marge could be so selfish that she would prefer her son to enter into an incestuous relationship with his sister than learn the truth that she is not his birth mother. Why would she think that he would reject her when she is the only mother he has ever known? He might be angry for a while because she kept the truth from him but I think he would eventually forgive her.

Yes, this disaster can all be pinned on Marge. Gina warned her countless times, then Abuela, and finally Mariano. She was to stubborn to listen. What she allowed to happen is a million times worse than a paternity secret.

DyO
Yes, Sue, and those stupid writers will probably give Marg a nicey-nice happy ending with her verdadero amor, Prudencio, who in return for his loyalty will be damned to an eternity of listening to her simper. :o)

Of course when Marg found out that Loopy was pregnant, she also did the slap-across-the-face and screaming accusation thing. By the way, are we ever to learn who Loopy's father is?

Yes, looks like Barbie got set up, was it because she turned down ED? That scene was pretty horrifying when she realizes what the "bachelor party" is going to turn into...

Any ideas on who is going to die? Surely either Tomas or Estela? Hopefully ED.

J in Oregon

MARIDO

Adriana - great write up. Thank you. Marcela's and Ester's phone conversation got me thinking that JP and Ester may get back together and the Gabe/Ester/taco scenes may be the writers playing with us.

Barbie is looking more and more like the conniving opportunist that she is. Trying to seduce the hotel manager and then moving into Jose's "digs" to get Jethro's attention show she'll do anything to get her way.

Hombre - Barbie's flotation devices - too funny. They'll keep her above water until Jethro gets there.

I wonder if TC's plan involves killing Marcela.

Gris and Pati not only dress alike, they look like mother and daughter - or big sis and little sis.

Beth

DyO

Sue - thanks for your super recap of Tuesday's episode - the aftermath of the wedding debacle.

Iggy was so right - none of the "informed" (Gina, AA, Mariano or Marge) considered Iggy's feelings or future in their struggles about revealing the Pedro paternity secret. She should pack up and just get away.

Marge will never get it. It's still all about her, her feelings, her hijo, her family.

Petra may be the ultimate hypocrite - the "good Christian" who disowns her "slutty" pregnant daughter. What a horrible situation for Izzy. Maybe she and Gema can find an apartment together. I'm wondering if Petra was an unwed mother herself.

I hope Barbie makes out of that "party" alive. ED deserves to die.

Karma would dictate that Tomas gets the padded wheelchair at the nursing home and his father comes out of the semi-comatose state and goes home to Tomas' mansion. Maybe HE'S Loopy's dad. Estela should die.

Beth

SANTA

It's really too bad that Ines is so nutty because she and Lucy would have made a great team. Lucy's street smarts, Ines's money, and aggressive determination in both of them! THIS pair could have had a vengeance scheme wrapped up in mere days. And probably had fun doing it. At least Lucy would have had fun. She might be the only one capable of this in Marrero.

Kelly

SANTA

Pfiu! Just managed to catch up with Santa Diabla... A lot has happened this week!
Some of these things might have been mentioned before, but I try to stay away from spoilers so I don't read the comments until after the episode, so forgive me if I repeat something someone already mentioned.

Barbie and the 2 guys...YUCK! When George arrived at the hotel, I just knew she'd be with someone, but 2 guys? That's just disgusting...
Could George's scheme work? The fact that he didn't tell Humber about the people who came for the house makes me think that the Canos will be chased out and he, with his new found fortune, will buy the house or something, just to spite them.

Santa should really consider recruiting him for her vengeance, he has a lifetime of experinece hating them and she is so bland on her own.
Paula, as inept as she appears to be, actually managed to harm them more - WHY is Humber still keeping her close is a mystery to me.

Ok, if Willy turns up alive, that is one less crime in Humber's repertoire... Can Santa fall in love with him now, instead of that Santibore?
Whenever he and Santa meet, which is at least 10 times a day, they both act like it's such a surprise and they hadn't seen one another in years... like at Paula's...He came to confront her about telling Santa about his marriage the next day - when that little indiscretion is not even a quarter of all the bad things Paula has done so far - it was such a poor way to have him in the house, for the big cabana reveal.

But the whole premise of their relationship is just so unbelievable... he knows she hates his family, he probably guesses that some of the financial problems they now have are because of her and yet, he's ok with it because he's in love????

That's why I'm rooting for Humberto ...

MARIDO

Beth, I think Esther and JP are end game, too. Maybe he falls in love with the baby once it's born, or he helps Esther deliver in the middle of a storm, on a mountain... you know, telenovela style.

Jose is a hoot, he's turning into a favorite of mine! I've never seen Miguel Varoni play comedy, he's top notch!

Deb, it did look like K was dragging Barbie down the stairs, but like HOMBRE said, all the "cushions" surely made the bumpy ride easier for her.
And yes, hand kissing still happens in Europe, in more fancy circles or even between normal people(my godfather does it sometimes and I think it's really special

MARIDO, pt 1

Thursday's episode is brought to you by the word “piruja”, for those times zorra and fulana just aren’t enough.

Barb is drowning at the beach. Jose is pushing Kike to go and save her already. Isn’t one of these guys an actual lifeguard? Elio runs in after him to help while Jose checks out Diosa.

They drag Barbie on the beach and now Jose insists that Kike do mouth to mouth. Kike flashes back to kissing at their wedding, but does as he’s told and, of course, they kiss, which is probably not helpful to a drowning person. This wouldn’t have happened if the lifeguard had done his job.

And instead of taking her to the hospital, they take her back to the old house where Jose is super thrilled to have her there, but he wants to make sure it won’t be for too long. Barb tries seducing Kike and he manages to resist. No one else on that beach would have. Kike questions Elio about his relationship with Jose and Elio tells him he’d never understand it, making it sound tawdry. He should’ve just said they were friends or something.

Gris gives a welcome talk to the new “Maridos en Alquiler”. Antonio is there and Gris asks what he wants, since the only reason he’d be there is because he wants something. She knows her kids so well. He wants to put in a good word for the cute engineer (right?) from the other day. Then he orders the women to work. They ignore him. Later at home Gris complains that her feet hurt because of the heels. So why wear them? Flats are fine, especially in a handyman shop.

At Paloma’s, Gigante comes in and gives the group the gossip about Barbie while Kike does the same with Gris. He calls her a PIRUJA and tells her that he dumped her at the old house. Gris isn’t happy about this because “Dio los cria y el Diablo los junta”. Something like “God makes them and the devil brings them together”. Basically, she doesn’t trust them together. She’s right of course. After a rough start at dinner of Barb asking what’s to drink and Jose explaining the faucet to her (don’t think she’s had water for dinner before, much less tap), he says he’d like to see more of his grandson too. This could be the beginning of a beautiful (slightly evil) friendship.

At Fashion Motors, Susanna watches Rafa walk out of the office all slow and depressed. He runs into Amalia, who is checking out a space for rent, and she tells him again that he needs to turn himself in to the cops. Cara de bummed de Rafa. He later goes to a police station but isn’t able to go through with the confession.

New intro song with serious spoiler pics. What’s with that?

Antonio interrupts the family dinner to tell Paty how much he loves her blah blah blah. It would be more touching if we could forget that he was hitting on that engineer or whatever she is the other day.

TC hallucinates about Fernando asking for her nekedness. She screams and runs around the room to shake off the hallucination. JA hears and wants to know what’s up and she invites him for a glass of wine. He asks for whisky because that’s the kind of day he’s had.

Esther is outside her house when Marcela goes up to her, they exchange some words, Esther calls Marcela a PIRUJA and tells her to call a shrink, and Marcela tries to shove a pill down her throat to end the pregnancy and. A neighbor calls the cops but the cop can’t detain Marcela since she didn’t pull a gun. JA ignores her calls. And apparently she swallowed a pill because Gabe comes over with tacos (she had placed a delivery order) and she asks him for help and then passes out. This is where the show ended so hopefully she's ok.

MARIDO pt 2

Kike, Jethro that he can be, is still a better man than Antonio. They have a beer together and Kike tells Tony to forget about Paty. He understands about Tony wanting Paty back but tells little bro that he never wanted the baby and never supported her, so leave her en paz. Gris lets Paty know that Antonio’s not coming back to the house and her decision is made. Tony understands. Kidding! He doesn’t. But he promises to leave Paty alone and asks his mom if she thinks he and Paty will ever get back together. Let’s hope not.

TC talks to Ro (is Rosario really ever a boy name?) about invitations she sent out and Ro tells her no one has given an rsvp. She asks why and Ro says maybe they’re going to the party of the exbigotuda and ¿que que what? from TC. She didn’t know about the other party. Ro tries to talk his way out of this knowledge but it doesn’t work and TC fires him! He begs to keep his job but it doesn’t work and Ro has a fit, crying and begging all the way out the door in his drama queen way. TC and LA roll their eyes at this but I think the actors were trying not to laugh. TC goes out the door and JA gets his chance to escape upstairs. But it doesn’t work because next scene he’s talking to TC about how Ro is the only one who adores her and loves her unconditionally. Says her BROTHER.

Then we go to Ro stumbling somewhere and crying. A sad relationship song plays and I laughed. It’s so perfect for these two to have a break up theme. But TC calls him and tells the paraja chillona (sniveling hen) to get back there; it was all a joke. Good one, TC. Then a back-together song plays for them.

Gris couldn’t get to the salon so she asks her most loving daughter to help her out. And she sneaks in the chance to have some girl talk about Amalia’s sad face. She doesn’t get the scoop but she’ll be there when Amalia is ready to talk.

Other stuff: Ivan invites Paloma, who still has no idea what’s going on, to a date. Sol steals a kiss from Daniel who is totally confused. He tries to talk to Tony who is much too preoccupied with his own problems. Manuel is being a jerk to his wife and daughter, but they don’t pay attention to his stupid macho-ness anymore.

SANTA

Was that a map of Ohio in the police station? Either I saw it wrong or Ohio is way more tropical than I thought.

Patricio lurks,

*Vicente/Ines'
Lucy's looking good for the wedding,
Pancho sees her, "what are you doing here"
"I live here".
it's all your fault I got thrown out into the street,
Pancho let's it slide,

Hortesia arrives, all prim and proper, greeted by Vicente,
then she sees Lucy, "what are you doing here"
"I live here", "come sit by me",
no way, is the look Hortensia has,

Santiago arrives, quiet, a blue jacket,

then the Cano's
Francisca, Daniela, Barbara,
a stunning Amanda and her dashing husband Humberto,
Francisca makes the rounds saying hi,
sees Lucy, "what are you doing here",
"hi senora"

Humberto says hi to his brother Santiago,
Amanda didn't come home last night, do you know where she was,
(I guess he could be asking questions like who killed Carlos)

Ines' makes her appearance, in white,
she hugs all the ladies, till she gets to Lucy, no, no,
and latches on to Santiago,
Amanda comes over, asks her about the music teacher she had,
what was his name Willy, Willy Delgado,
to a quiet room of Cano women...

Santa,

wow, that is a map of Ohio,
good catch Kelly!

MARIDO

Kelly, thank you for posting a recap. I only read the first paragraph because I haven't seen the show, yet, and I want to remain spoiler free, but I loved your opening :)))

Will be back later this afternoon with more feedback!

MARIDO

Kelly, Gracias por el resumen. ¡Bien hecho! I'm glad I read it because right now my cable is out so I don't have On Demand. Which means...

DYO

I can try and do a recap from memory but it's so much better when I can review. Curiously, my phone and internet have not been affected.

DYO jueves 10 de octubre Minicap

Petra stops ED (nice that his abbreviation also stands for erectile dysfunction) from putting a bullet into Angel's head by telling him he's his son. Lots of paternity secrets in this novela.

Pedro stops by to say goodbye forever to Ignacia. She has also decided to go away.

A drunk Reuben returns to Mariano's. He blames Mariano for his wedding going kaput. No! The person to blame is Marge. Mariano wanted to say something as soon as he found out but Marge (and Gina) convinced him not to.

Estela goes to see Ignacia and cries crocodile tears about how Gina stole her husband bla bla. She tells Ignacia that because of Gina Tomas' firm will go under.

Marge and Lupita lament that they will be all alone. Boo! Hoo!

Neto asks Prudencio to go with him to the courthouse so he can claim his inhereitance. He again offers to pay for an operation so Mireya can walk. She turns him down saying it's too expensive. No...it's because you can already walk.

Pedro and Isabel get on the same bus. He switches seats with someone and ends up across the aisle from Isabel. She's crying and Pedro asks her if she's all right. And then the bus crashes head on with a truck.

Two joggers discover a body in a park. Looks like Barbie won't be giving pole-dancing lessons to Gema. I can't watch the show On Demand but there is a summary which says, "Barbie aparece muerta." ("Barbie appears dead.") I hope that's the case. I want ED nailed!

Feel free to fill in anything I've forgotten. :)

SANTA:
Great recap, Deb.

In addition to the map of Ohio, I think I saw a picture of the Rialto bridge in Venice in the police station. A strange thing to see in a police station.

Those huge balls of flowers at Ines' wedding were really hideous. Her dress was pretty ugly, too. It was off the rack, I assume, since the wedding was planned in one day.

You've got to love Lucy - sticking it in the eye of her former employer and Hortensia at Ines' wedding. It should be fun when Elisa shows up.

If TN rules are followed, Samanda & Santi just made a baby and when Santi finds out that Samanda is preggers, he will assume that the baby is Bert's.

We still don't know whether Ulyses is a good guy or a bad guy.

DyO

thanks for the recap Sue,

maybe this novela was shortened because after screaming every show no one could talk anymore.

hmm, so Angel is ED's kid, and so is Invisabel, so she hid it from him once, and then went back and did it again?

they were yelling so loud, I thought Gema would run out there too.

so Tomas goes to the club to find a solution to his business woes, while the Ingacia look-a-like dances for him, later she (Zafiro) asks Lorenzo if maybe ED would like to invest in a legitament company,

looks like the party is over for Barbie,

when leaving town, it's always the bus, how unique that Pedro and Invisabel are on the same one, wouldn't that be odd if they ended up together, making a new start.

DyO
Sue, Thanks so much for your recap, and Deb for your comments.
Mireya as usual was being vicious and spiteful towards out little Chihuahua puppy, Neto. (I hope Mireya ends up alone-- Neto can do better. He has even abandoned his skull themed hoodie lately.)

In a way I feel sorry for Mariano, he finally finds his son, but it's too late. Mariano kept trying to convince Gina to reveal the truth about Pedro. Considering what was at risk, why was everyone so set on protecting Marg? And who is Loopy's daddy? Weeks ago, somebody suggested ED...I'm thinking that makes the most sense at this point.

Marido

thanks Kelly, for the great recap!

so strange that Barbie is drowning, while Victor the lifeguard watches, then Kiko revives her with mouth-to-mouth kisses, as everyone looks on.

I couldn't tell if Marcela got the pill into Esther, wouldn't she know, maybe some of it got smashed in.

looks like Sol knows what she wants, and she is just different enough, Daniel just might notice.

I don't think the jail confession would have worked out for Rafa, they would have just opened a cell door for him, but what he needs to do is go to Ivan, the guy that trusted him, the guy he actually cheated, well I guess it was more the buyers that got the short end, is Leonardo still sitting around waiting for more dirty work?

MARIDO

Kely, loved your recap, just now finished reading the whole thing.

"Ro is the only one who adores her and loves her unconditionally. Says her BROTHER." - hahaha
- although his name is JP (from Juan Pablo)

I noticed the new entrada with all the spoilers, too. What's up with that?

MARIDO:

Thanks for a great recap, Kelly, super job! I agree with all your observations, too.

BTW, the cute engineer is Beatriz, who donated her egg, to join with her deceased husband's sperm, to make the baby Esther is carrying! Small world. Could Tony and Beatriz get together? Probably not, they'll probably still try to get him back with Amalia.

I liked when Daniel asked Sol how old she was, and she said "Old enough for THIS", and then kissed him. Cute.

I agree, Victor the lifeguard was not doing his job.

I think Jose was also eyeing Penny, who often wears a bikini (and is much skinnier than Diosa).

SANTA:

Wonderful recap, Deb, thank you!

I agree Samanda may be pregnant again. There certainly wasn't any talk of birth control.

Vicente sure is bad, locking up Willy, lying to his daughter and to his partner, playing games with Hortensia and Elisa.

Padre Milton sure is a busybody. If he only knew what was going on!

So, since Willy Delgado is alive, that means that Bert had 3 people killed, and personally killed another, to keep them from revealing the secret that Willy was killed. But he wasn't.

MARIDO

Whoops! I got Juan Pablo JP mixed up with that JA guy over on that other show. Shame on me. JP is a much better man. But these guys really should pick one name and stick with it.

kelly

MARIDO

Escribió el Hombre de Misterio:
" Could Tony and Beatriz get together? Probably not, they'll probably still try to get him back with Amalia."

I hope not. There's enough (supposed) incest on Dama y Obrero. lol! ;)

DYO

Thanks so much for the minicap, Sue! I can't get TM's online episodes to load today and Primicia hasn't put it up yet. Sounds like quite the episode, though... bummed I can't see it!

Marge and Lupita deserve each other. I understand wanting to postpone the wedding in the shadow of such devastating events, but "our families can never be together"?? Lupita is such a drama queen. Let's leave Marge and Lupy in Casa Perez with the door closed for the rest of the tn so we don't have to listen to the whimpering, PLEASE GOD.

I still think there's a good possibility ED is Lupita's dad, too. Because she needs another reason to whine. Maybe Prudencio will be the one to take ED down...

Agreed about Mireya... I don't see much of a redemption for her right now.

Did ED not know he had kids with Petra at all? I thought maybe it had been so long ago he didn't recognize them. I haven't seen the episode yet.

Again, so glad to have the recaps! My online reception here is spotty.

DyO
AnotherAmy: ED didn't show any recognition when Petra ran out of the house and started begging for her son's life. I think she told him she was "pregnant with Angel when he left her and Isabel", so it seems like he knew he had a daughter with Petra. Later in the bar, ED told one of his henchmen not to harm a hair on Angel's head, and in the next breath he said never to mention Angel's name again. If ED is Lupita's dad, then Loopy will have a new little sister and brother! And Marg will have a new sister in law...oh wait, is that right?
Hallucinatin' in the Hood,

MARIDO

Thanks, Kelly. Great recap. And thanks for the new word - piruja, when "zorra and fulana just aren’t enough".

Ro made it all the way to the front lawn crying and emoting after TC fired him. He really is a drama queen.

Yea! Jethro! He withstood Barbie's assault, but I wonder how long he can continue to resist her charms.

I couldn't believe it when Tony showed his smarmy face at Gris' house after he was specifically and pointedly told to stay away. And Gris didn't tell him right away to leave. She let him hound Pati until Pati left the room. Gris is a good, loving mother, but in Tony's case she an enabler.

I didn't think Ester swallowed that pill (?Plan B) Marcela was trying to force down her throat until she started to feel ill later in the evening. No matter what happens with the baby, JP probably will feel so guilty and worried about Ester that he'll move back in with her.

Rafa should just man up, go tell Ivan what he did and take his punishment. Ivan has been a decent boss, and Rafa owes him the courtesy and respect to talk with him first before someone else (Susana or the cops) does.

Beth

DyO

Sue - thank you! I missed so much of this episode, and you filled in the gaps.

You said, " Lots of paternity secrets in this novela" - amen! And lots of inadequate mothers keeping those secrets - Petra, Estela, Marge, Gina, even AA.

I didn't know Iggy was planning to leave town. I'm guessing Estela will pull some fake suicide attempt and Iggy won't leave. But then….

Will Pedro be injured in the bus accident and need a transfusion from his "sister"? And will Izzy lose her baby?

I had the feeling that ED didn't know about Angel's birth (why didn't Petra tell him? oh, yea, tn paternity secret), but he did believe Petra when she told him that Angel is his son. I don't think ED married Petra - or Marge if he was involved with her too.

Let's hope Barbie isn't dead. And Candi's body never turned up, did it?

Beth

DyO
Beth,
Ooh, good idea about Pedro needing a transfusion from his "sister"! Perfect!
Have you ever thought of a career as a TN writer? :o)
And as for Candy, one of my favorite "loose ends", her body was never found. But I think that a young couple in the park spotted a body at the end of last night's episode...sure looked like Barbie.
J in Oregon

SANTA

Deb, thank you for your beautiful recap, as always, pure poetry.

Jean, I think you're correct on your tn pregnancy rule. The protagonista must be able to ovulate on demand in response to having unprotected sex with the designated galan. Bert will assume the baby is Santi's, Santi will assume it's Bert's.

I loved Lucy's "I live here" response. And no one challenged her.

Deb - I had the same thought about Vicente inviting Elisa to the wedding. She'll probably drag Mara along, and Horti will have a cow!

We don't know how much Mara paid Bert, but is it enough to stop the eviction?

SANTA DIABLA... Friday (epi 47)
part 1

*Ines' wedding,
the Cano's ears perk up with the mention of Willy Delgado,
but Vicente gets things moving on to the ceremony,
Elisa arrives late, not to Hortencia's liking,

*hospital
Lisette visits the coma Arturo,
pours out her problems to his deaf ears,

*Victoria's
Victoria is getting ready to go out, (to visit Ivan)
we overhear a distraught Patricio talking on the phone,
Patricio's twin has died of an overdose,
(the aunt never mentioned a twin, only Patricio keeps doing so)
Victoria goes to see if she can help,
he reels her in,
then goes up to his room, Victoria says he shouldn't be alone,

*Ines' wedding,
Ines and Santiago are seated at a big table,
everyone else is standing, huh?
Ines says "accepto",
Santiago, stalls, finally says "si" (in a sure, why not, kind of way)
does Humberto smile, while Santa frowns,
later,
Ines says she is so happy, Santiago says he's tired,
he asks about Willy again,
Ines says she has something to do and runs upstairs,
while Barbara congratulates her brother,
Ines has gone to her room and rips up the pic of Willy,
Humberto has followed, wants to know more about their relationship,
Vicente has followed and breaks things up, sends Ines out, so the men can talk,
Humberto asks the same questions of Vicente,
adding that Vicente knows every little bit about what Ines does,
Vicente, in his smooth way, redirects the conversation to Santiago/Ines,

as Humberto and Ines are off, Santa and Santiago are magically drawn together,
but Ines is getting wise to this and hurries back,

Hortensia wants to know how Elisa knows Vicente,
we are friends,
what kind of friends Hortensia asks,
ah, Elisa realizes, you like Vicente,

Humberto decides it's time to go, they say their goodbyes,
and the Cano's file out.

*Victoria's
she brings some food to Patricio, in his room,
she talks about the organ trafficing,
he talks about all he did to help his brother,
Ulises, comes home, and listens outside the door,

*jail
Ivan sits alone on the floor of his cell,
desperately waiting for a visit from Victoria,
that never comes,

*Cano's
Humberto is confronted by a worried Barbara, Daniela in the background,
about Ines, and what she might know about Willy,
Willy is dead and buried, he can do us no harm now, he says,
Daniela says something about the romance, what?

apparently Daniela and Willy had a thing together,
did you know he was married?, yes,
did you see his wife, or a picture? no,
but I heard him flirting on the phone, with another lady, (Ines?)
(is this is what broke them up and led to her helping with his conviction)

Barbara is upset,
is it because he chose me over you, Daniela asks,
before she is slapped.

SANTA DIABLA... Friday (epi 47)
part 2

*Vicente's
Pancho is cleaning up with Lucy hovering about,
she wants to sleep with him,
no, no, I'll talk to Transito, he walks off,
Lucy takes a big gulp of her drink,
and rolls her eyes back into her head,

Santiago comes to Ines' room,
helps with her dress, she is quiet, sad, they hug,
she is afraid Santiago will leave her,
I'll be here for you, always, Santiago tells her, in a distant way,

*next day

*Cano's,
Humberto quizzes Amanda about guillermo's father,
she doesn't want to talk about it,
she goes down stairs, Humberto follows, on his way to work,
but the guy from the bank is there, with a second notice on the eviction,
(Humberto figures out that George got the first one),
Francisca overhears,
Humberto says there is nothing he can do other then get more time to leave,
someone else owns the house now,
Francisca is NOT leaving, (alive, I think she adds)
Santa does a little evil smile for us,

*Ines'
Santiago heads to the Cafe, with his sax, is kissed at the door by Ines,
who will stay home and care for their expectant child,
after he is gone, Ines heads to the cabana.

*Cafe
Lazaro shows up, talks Mara into spending the day at the beach,
to forget her problems for a day,
when Santiago arrives, the Cafe is closed,
he heads back home, to an empty house,

*Trebol de Oro,
Pancho is there about getting Lucy out of his hair,
Transito says NO way,
but he brings up the investigation, which worries her,
then Pancho gets a call, another girl has been found, dead,
he takes Transito with him,

*Victoria's
a mopey Patricio is off to his twins funeral,
but he doesn't think he can drive,
he asks Victoria to take him,
(she and Ulises act like there is a serial killer in the room),

*Patricio twin's funeral
(this is too weird)
everyone is in black, like a sad modern dance troupe,
there is a picture of the twin, looks like Patricio but worse,
Patricio introduces his twin's novia, they hug, grieve together,
Patricio opens the casket for a look, but neither us or Victoria can see in,
Victoria, who doesn't know anyone is totally lost,

*Mara's
Vicente arrives to see Elisa,
she says she was married three times,
she is done looking for the perfect man,
Vicente says, I'm here,
slithers in with a smile, for a kiss,

*somewhere
Pancho arrives at the scene, with Transito,
asks her if she can recognize the body,
(it's the girl Patricio broke the neck of)
Transito turns away, looks sick, does she ever have a nice day,
(wasn't Transito left with getting rid of the body, and didn't Patricio tell her to take it to the "muchacha graveyard", or where ever Carlos gets rid of the girls that don't do what they are told)

*cabana
Ines arrives by herself,
forces the front door lock,
moves the bookcase,
and finds a hammer to break the lock on that door,
she walks down stairs, sees someone laying there,
who are you?...
Willy?...

DYO and MARIDO

Recaps will be posted later today. I can't get to them this morning.

DYO note: I'm willing to recap the last 4 episodes but I'm returning to work on Monday so I won't be able to post them until the late afternoon.

SANTA

Deb, as always, superb recap!

So much happened today, I don't even know where to start...

I think Humber is Vicente's son - nothing incestuous happened so far between him and Ines; besides, if he discovers the great Gaspar Cano was not his real father, he'll be crushed... being a Cano is what he does best, it's his whole identity.
That would also mean that the kids that Gaspar actually had are nothing like him - Santi is a musician, Barbie a slut... good genes, these Canos.

I hate to say it, but I really don't like Victoria. I tried to stick with her for Ivan, because he's really nice, but I think he's being wasted in this story - he's bending over backwards to protect her, he's not even telling the truth to his lawyer, all because he wants her safe?? How can she be safe if he's in jail and Patricio in nearby? Nobody will believe Pat is a real threat if Ivan doesn't say the truth. Yes, he said something to Vicente and Ulysses but he needs to stop pouting, put his big boy pants and fight for his freedom.
And that brings me to Victoria: I really don't like the perpetual, clueless victim that this character has become. Why on Earth would she believe anything that Pat has to say? The guy tried to rape her more than once and yet she still takes his word over Ivan's? Sometimes her reactions make me believe that she has some psychic problems, too... Sorry, this is just the feeling I get - she's slow, weak, whiny, I simply can't bring myself to like her.

Who I'm really starting to like is Lisette. Her love for Ivan, the genuine way she shared her problems with a comatose Arturo, asking for his help, even her moment of tenderness for Humber at Gaspar's death - this is not a completely evil character, she has plenty of redeeming qualities. And the way she treats Horty wins her points, too.

Santi and Santa making love was such a bore, I just can't get into this couple. And to have Willy there...I hope Santa isn't a loud lover...hehe

So, Willy really was a slime...Funny how the only woman he ever said no to was Barbara, the great predator. Had he said yes to her, too, he would be alive and kicking right now, probably with more amantes that we can count.
I can't wait for Santa to realize her hubby was no saint, maybe this way she stops being so obnoxious...

And last, but not least, at the beginning I liked Elisa, but her little trick with Mara really bothered me. I hope she learned her lesson. Hooking up with Vicente is kind of yukki, but I have to confess I didn't really enjoy the way she kept saying to Horty how much of a woman she is (a few days ago, at the hospital, when V was also there) - and that was no the first time she mentioned how great she and Mara were - sexy women don't need to yap about their sexiness all day long, it just takes away from their charm.

Pfiu, rant over! Just had to get a few things off my chest.
And I didn't even touch on the subject of Ines finding Willy! How about that for a big mess???

SANTA

Sorry, I meant to say that Ivan said something to Francisco and Ulysses, not Vicente and U...
fast typing, many characters....

SANTA:

Deb, as usual, another SUPER recap!

So that Willy really got around! Let's see, Santa, Begonia, Ines, and now Daniela! Wonder why he turned down Barbara? Maybe Vicente was involved at that point. But now Ines has found Willy. This could be fun.

It looks as if Patricio has set up an entire funeral with actors. He did hire the woman to act back at his Aunt's house in New Orleans. One of the weirdest things is that he has NEVER named his twin brother, every time just referring to him as "my twin". Hmmmmm. Also, Vicky hasn't been able to look into the casket (even if she did, they could put a dummy in there). His whole story seems so preposterous to us, how come he never mentioned his "sister in law", or called them even once, before his brother "died". I'm sure Vicky will believe everything.

So maybe our only hope is Pancho, who, while being a little slow, doesn't seem to give up. One day he could investigate Pat in New Orleans. Or maybe Lucy will stumble on something else. She definitely is a helpful character, plot wise, helping a little at the Trebol de Oro, then helping Ines get into the cabana. And now that she's living at Vicente/Ines/Pancho's house, she's not moving!

Santa
Fantastic deb, tks so much

Goodness, this thing has so many twists & turns, it makes your head spin, must say the writers are busy & on an illegal substance, but in an interesting way.

Ivan did tell Pancho about Pat & about Victoria being in danger. Pat is sth else, phoney funeral, phoney scar carved into his side.

We started out feeling so sorry for Will Sr, now he is just another piece of scum. So the charges against him were valid. I guess he rejected Barb 'cause he wants to be the pursuer or Daniela & Barb are in the same house at the same time.

If it hadn't been for Humberto having those guys killed & even killing one himself, although they deserved it, he could be redeemed. He seems no worse than a lot of the other characters.

I'm liking Lucy, pain in the ass, but she is the only fun in this thing.

Vicente is walking down the stairs while Inez is with Will Sr, hmmmmm, what now?, cliffhanger 'til lunes.

Marido

Is anyone going to do the Friday recap? If I did it it would take me all day, so I can't offer, but I'm tempted to do a detailed recap of the JP/Rei/Gabe scene. (I haven't watched the whole thing yet, so I don't know if there are any Rei/Gris scenes yet.)

MARIDO

Utah, Sue does the Friday recaps and earlier she said she'll post later today.
No Gris/ Rei today :(

SANTA

Adriana Noel- Yes to everything in your rant! I try to look at Victoria as an abused woman. She's been beaten down by her brother for so long, I'm not sure she knows how to fight back. But she had a look on her face at the funeral that said maybe she wasn't sure of all this. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking.

Hortensia definitely got more than she bargained for with Lisette. Good.

And Ines may be a nut, but she is the only one capable of forgiving Willy and helping him back to reality. I just don't think I could love someone enough to give them a big hug after two years of unwashed basement living. Blech. Ines is a better person than I am. And she sure caught on to lock-picking fast! New career?

Kelly

Marido

Just some comments on Friday's show. The scene with Reinaldo and JP and Gabriel was just too much of a goodness. Was it just that three attractive and (sort of) mature men were standing there talking to each other? Or was it that the lines were funny (and logically motivated by their respective characters) and the actors delivered them very well? Or was it just Reinaldo in his grey robe over his dull blue pajamas? (His hair should have been more mussed up, though.)

I'm going to enjoy seeing Gabe make JP jealous, oh, definitely. (I squealed at the hospital room scene.) But he really deserves a romance of his own. Wow, that voice and that way of talking he has. He becomes much more attractive when he's not hanging around embodying unrequited love.

I'm ready to smack Griselda over the head for keeping that bag with the five million dollars under her bed. (Unless that's a red herring for the viewers.) I don't want the heroine I'm invested in to be that foolish.

And my thought during the last scene--there's another white-tablecloth restaurant in Miami?

MARIDO

Utah, hahaha for your comment about the existence of another fancy restaurant in Miami. From the way Gourmet Palmer is always booked solid, you'd think everyone eats there and only there.

JP disappointed me with his very slow reaction to Esther's health crisis. The fact that he did go after all shows that he still cares about her but his lack of immediate reaction is a sure indicator that his pride is so much bigger than his love, a fact that we already knew.

I'm glad to see that Simon is showing more and more interest in Pati - maybe after she gets better she can see him with different eyes, too, although so far this seems highly unlikely.

Who would have thought that Barbie and Jose would make such a dynamic duo? The scenes in the house with the two of them and Elio are always very funny - and I had to laugh out loud when they both agreed that they made a very bad decision when leaving their exes.

Santa
If Will Sr gets out of the cellar, I suppose he would have to go back to jail.
After they find out about his shenanigans, maybe Begoña will come clean.

TELEMUNDO,

in it's place is a second hour of "Marido en Alquiler".

DYO viernes 11 de octubre Part 1

Mariano asks forgiveness from Ignacia but she is resolute. She is leaving. At the 'hood Reuben wants to be with Lupita but our Drama Queen repeats that she needs time away from him to think. He tells her she has made him a better person. Does anyone else think that the changes in him happened too fast? One minute she's "la naca esa" who got pregnant on purpose to trap him and the next she is "la mujer de mi vida."

Mariano has left and Ignacia is sitting on the sofa looking like she's having a heart attack. Abuela comes in with a box of jewelry that she says would be of more use to Ignacia than to her. Abuela asks what's wrong and Ignacia says she has a bad feeling. "A feeling of emptiness." Abuela thinks she may be having a panic attack and yes to make her a cup of tea. Meanwhile JM arrives to beg Ignacia not to go to Italy. (We find out she had a job offer there.)

Tomás is speaking with the two left in charge at the project because now there is no director or foreman. Sanchez tells them there are bills that need to be paid and it's chaotic with the workers because of the lack of a foreman. "What the hell do I pay you for? Go back there and get everything in order and leave the money to me." They leave and Estela walks in. She tells him she did what he asked her to…to the point of threatening suicide. "But Ignacia is not stupid." Tomás is sure that Ignacia will stay. "No one is going to take her from me. No one."

JM tells Ignacia that she's running away from her problems. She says she's not running away. She just needs time alone to think. She asks about the firm. JM tells her it's true that the firm is in danger of going bankrupt. She thinks about all the people who will be out of work if that happens. He begs her to stay and says he has another reason. He plants one on her. Ignacia's expression is priceless. She pulls away and tells him in spite of everything that's happened nothing has changed re: her feelings for him. Abuela comes out with the tea and hints that the two of them should be together. Bad timing.

Evil nurse is in Tomás' office so it looks like Estela is going to meet the same fate as his dad. He hands her an envelope full of cash, in advance, and she tells him, "La señora Estela will be in the best hands." The firm's going bankrupt and hundreds will be put out of work but these necessities have to come first. Lorenzo calls and tells him there is someone interested in investing in his firm. He will set up a meeting at the club.

Pedro wakes up in the ER. A nurse tells him that his injuries are minor and that the bus he was riding in crashed into a truck and exploded. Everyone on the bus was rescued and Pedro was very brave in helping. He asks about Isabel but the nurse tells him to rest. Since Pedro usually does the opposite of what you tell him to do, he gets up and goes to find Isabel. She is in another room. The nurse finds him with her and asks if she is a relative (oh dear God!) and says no. He just wants to know how she is. The nurse says she'll be OK and leads him back to his room.

Petra is crying over being left alone. Why did she treat Isabel so cruelly? Because she's a cruel person. And Angel is out on the streets probably never to return since finding out that ED is his father. Speaking of, Petra answers a knock at the door and finds ED standing there. Meanwhile at the obra Gema asks where Angel is. The person-in-charge says he took unauthorized time off. He no longer works there.

The police are removing Barbie's body from the park. The detective believes that she must have been an exotic dancer (BINGO!) or a prostitute judging from the way she was dressed. He lays out two hypotheses: 1) She's one of the women who have "disappeared" at the border, or, 2) She has something to do with that El Duro chap (BIBG! BING! BING!)

DYO viernes 11 de octubre Part 2

Petra informs ED that she is both the mother and father of their children because she is the one who brought them up and she is the one who sacrificed for them. She warns him to stay away from them. He doesn't give a rat's a$$ about her sacrifices and he intends to get to know them, especially Isabel. He can lure them over to his side with his money. "They don't need your dirty money!" She goes to slap him and he grabs her wrist and forces her down. "I can do whatever I feel like!" He leaves. I'm putting in an order for a huge anvil.

Pedro goes back to speak with Isabel who is now awake. They learn that they have two things in common: Both have recently suffered a broken heart and both have found out who their real fathers are. He tells her he is going far away and he's not coming back.

Marge and Gina are watching the news about the bus accident near Los Angeles. Marge fears Pedro is on that bus. Gina changes the channel. Neto comes in with Prudencio; he is bearing gifts for Marge, Gina and Lupita. Turns out that he is really a millionaire. Wow probate is fast in California. Mireya is in her apartment with a puss on her face because Pedro won't answer his phone. Neto gives her a box–it looks like it's jewelry of some sort. She pretends not to want it but after he leaves dejected, she goes over to the table to open it. It's a necklace and she muses, "You're not going to throw away your money on an operation I don't need. Instead, you'll give me the life I deserve." I'll give you the anvil you deserve.

Ignacia says goodbye to Abuela and JM. As she is about to leave she receives a call. "What happened to my mother?"

The nurse tells Isabel that she and the baby are going to be fine. Pedro comes in to tell her goodbye. She asks him to take her with him. Pedro says no because he needs time alone. Isabel tells him that it would be good for him to open up with someone. He doesn't agree.

Gema arrives at the strip club for her first day of work. She asks Lorenzo where Barbie is. he tells her that no one is permanent there, "They come and go." He warns her she needs to be discreet if she's going to work there. She asks him if she can wear a costume that hides her face because she works at a construction site and she doesn't want anyone to recognize her. He likes the idea of her being a woman of mystery and okays it. He introduces her to Zafiro.

Ignacia and JM go to the hospital. Ignacia speaks to a doctor who says that according to witnesses, Estela tried to take her own life. "She took an overdose and sustained a fracture when she fell." Ignacia asks to see her. Estela tells her that she can't live with the shame and that she should have never gotten involved with Tomás. She still doesn't want to live. Is this part of Tomás' plan too? Ignacia tells JM that although Estela has treated her and a lot of people she loves badly, she is still her mother and she can't leave her. JM tells her he's there for her–he's not going anywhere.

Long talk between Mariano and Abuela about all the mistakes made. Mariano says that all three of his children hate him. Abuela wonders which is worse, a lie or a hidden truth.

Tomás is annoyed because his potential investor has not showed up for his meeting. He complains to Lorenzo and then ED arrives.

Pedro has taken the bus to San Francisco. He goes into his hotel room, lays on the bed and starts muttering about Ignacia. He hears a knock at the door. "Come in." He's shocked to see that it's Isabel...

DyO
Sue455, thanks so much for the priceless recap, both today's and also over the last weeks. It sounds like you are putting in a wholesale order for anvils, to be handed out at our discretion!

It seems like Ignacia was having her moment of "emptiness" at the exact moment of the bus crash, one of my favorite TN conventions.

At the hospital, Estela is undrugged, alert and playing the suicide-attempt role. Have the doctors/nurses been bribed to go along with this? (fake blood and contusions, etc). No doubt the horse tranquilizer will come along soooonnn....

JM, our former heart-throb, is not showing to best advantage in these last weeks, planting unwelcome kisses on Iggy and remaining oblivious to Invisabel's feelings. Grow up, JM!

About 90% of this novela has been a repetition of the same ol' Marge/Gina/Pedro mess. Now it's actualy getting interesting!

MARIDO

Sorry...very busy day today. I'm done with Part 1 and I just have to finish Part 2. Recap should be up early tomorrow morning. Thanks.

SANTA

Deb, thank you for another terrific recap. This tn is moving fast right now, and you did an amazing job capturing everything that happened last night.

So Ines gets to Willy first. I'm not sure Vicente is right behind her because we frequently get false teasers with these shows. I would so love to see Ines get some metal cutters and get Willy out of the basement before Vicente gets back, but now I'm really daydreaming. Anyway, Ines and Willy have 2 years of catching up to do, and their chat should be illuminating for both of them.

Big question for me continues to be, why did Vicente go to the trouble of rescuing and secretly chaining Willy in the basement? Willy would be far away from Ines in jail. Is Willy the missing twin, and Vicente doesn't want him in Jail? But then why wouldn't Vicente just get Willy another identity and set him free? Is Ines related to Willy? Too many possibilities.

Victoria's scenes just make me cringe. She is such a victim, she can't seem to do anything to help herself. And Pat plays her like a violin.

Pat could be an event coordinator in his next life. I don't believe there is/was a twin, and I'm impressed that he could put together that funeral so quickly (I guess you can rent a funeral parlor for family gatherings).

Fran won't leave the Cano house while she's still alive? Paula could help her with that.

Dani did have a thing with Willy (what a snake!). If Bert hadn't been such a murdering bastard, legally he'd be OK today, even though his intent with Willy's case was not legal or honorable.

Adriana, ditto-ditto-ditto to all your rants. But this tn keeps us coming back for more.

Hombre, Pancho intuitively knew that Transito could assist his investigation, and he is following up on Ivan's statements. Sometimes I think he's smarter than he looks.

Kelly, I agree with you about Ines and Willy. No one is going to be happy with him when the truth comes out, and Ines is the only one who may say he's suffered enough.

Variopinta, Begona may have to confess to convince Santa that Willy is scum.

Beth

MARIDO

Sue - I so appreciate your taking the time to do these recaps. They are very helpful to my understanding what's going on with the story. But take your time, and THANK YOU in advance for whatever you can do.

Beth

Marido

Sue, please do take your time, and know that whatever you do is highly appreciated!

DyO

Sue - thank you for this superb recap! The closer we get to the end of the story, the more interesting and faster moving it is. Abuela provided a key question for this tn: "which is worse, a lie or a hidden truth." How about both!

Well, I was wrong (again!) on 3 counts yesterday - no injury requiring a transfusion, no miscarriage and poor Barbie is dead. Officer Gerardo (?) is on the case to find Barbie's killer, so maybe he'll be running into Gema at the strip club.

Estela looked awfully good sitting up in bed - too good for someone who had just attempted suicide. Poor naive Iggy still keeps getting sucked in by Estela's lies.

Only 4 more episodes left - so much to cover in such a short time. Maybe there will be a 'mes despues' stuck in there to cover the pregnancies and missing people.

Sue, I hope you've ordered enough anvils to go around. I'd hate for the nurse, the strip club manager and the Rat to be left out.

Beth

DyO

thank you so much Sue for taking the time to do these recaps,
I really appreciate what you do,
say, could you post who and when someone will be doing recaps on this novela next week,
since it may be the last week, and I have lost track,

Invisabel is just tearing my heart out, that sad smile she has,
that no one can see,
and now she is pregnant, on a bus to who knows where, alone,
no money, no job,
I sure hope Pedro wraps those big arms of his around her,
if only for a minute,
he doesn't know her, but, he can SEE her.

wow, I guess Pedro was a HERO,
saving so many on the bus that burned,
just doing what I could, he says,

Mariano sure is a strange character,
he has been eating leftovers his whole life,
married a nightmare,
has no chemistry with anyone,
but always standing tall, doing what is right, the best he can,

maybe Pancho (in santa diabla) will find Candy's body,
or maybe she is alive,

wow, so Gina shuts off the tv so Margarita won't be worrying about everything she sees,
if only they knew,

I wonder if Estela really did get her face smashed, when she passed out,
but, we are thinking Tomas has a place for her in his vegetable patch anyway,
the question is,
can the veterinarian lady do her beehive hair style.

and Neto is rich,
didn't Olegario just buy Marge a new sewing machine,
now she has two,

oh, and the necklace for Mireya, she couldn't wait to look,
the way she is jumping out of that chair without locking the door,
and Prudencio lives there,

so Tomas and ED shake hands.
and masked Gema, friend to Gerardo (cop),
may see all.

DYO

Thanks for the great recap, Sue!

J, I have to agree that after all the tired repetition it IS finally getting interesting... and we only have 4? episodes left. Boo.

This is probably the first time ever I'm not ready for a tn to be over. So many loose ends to be tied up, and I'm so afraid that in the rush to do so, the end is going to be totally lame. (I totally agree by the way that JM's droolworthiness has taken a nose-dive with this pathetic crush on Ignacia and ignorance toward Invisabel.) While it's true that the original had twice as many episodes that were half as long, this version added a few subplots that were not in the original (at least the parts that I saw)... the strip club, Gema, El Duro, Petra, Isabel, Angel, Mireya's fake disability (in the original she was really disabled) etc. were all additional plots that TM added and therefore should have spent more time tying up. Such a bummer they cut this one so short :(

MARIDO viernes 11 de octubre Part 1

Kind of a blah episode if you ask me.

Alba arrives at the hospital and warns Esther that she shouldn't take any medication without checking with her first. Esther is positive that she didn't swallow any of the drug Marcela tried to force-feed her. And Alba advises Esther to cut back on her taco intake. Gabe says JP's phone is still off. Alba doesn't feel JP needs to know right away because nothing happened. She tells Gabe JP and Esther are separated and JP is living at his sister's. She doesn't know the address or phone number but Gabe can it get from the chef at Gourmet Palmer who is JP's brother-in-law. Gabe regrets that it's a small world after all.

Early next morning Gabe goes to TC's to tell JP what happened. JP calls it emotional blackmail and says she's just being hysterical. He goes back to bed. Reinaldo can't believe JP would act so callously. Reinaldo invites Gabe to have some coffee but Gabe says he doesn't like it. He leaves and sees Gris out with the hose watering one of the bushes. He startles her and she drenches him. She apologizes and offers to get him a towel. He refuses. She thinks he has come to see her but he denies it. He tells her to take care of her own life and he'll take care of his. Reinaldo overhears that part of the conversation.

Ivan tells Max that today he is going out with the woman he's been infatuated with for some time. We see Paloma stretching on the beach.

Gris goes in the house and tells Jethro what happened. Pati comes downstairs and says she has to get back to school because she has missed so many classes. Jethro offers to drive her.

Gabe gives Esther the 411 on what happened with JP. She's not surprised that JP reacted the way he did. Gabe offers to bring her home and she accepts.

José wants Fernando to get him into the gated community so he can make a surprise visit to Gris. He wakes up Babs who for a moment doesn't remember where she is. He tells her she's in the house of the exes. Babs is going with José on his visit to Gris.

TC calls Fernando to tell him, "Today" and hangs up.

Pati and her friends discuss Gris' generosity. Pati leaves and who does she run into? Antonio, of course.

Gris is bringing Kikito into the front hall to get him off to school. "¡Mamá!" he yells. José and Babs have arrived for their visit. Iris and Mario are standing by helpless. Gris is angry they are there. Iris blames security for letting them in without advising her. José announces that he is going to have his death certificate annulled. Gris reviews Babs' many sins and includes the new one of wanting her husband to die in the ring so that she could collect his life insurance. Babs says she has a right to see her son. Gris wants to speak to José in the kitchen. She warns Iris to not let Kikito out of her sight.

At Tacos Bar Clara is ignoring Jethro. Gabe tells Jethro that with Babs around his heart is not free to love Clara the way she deserves.

Reinaldo flashbacks to the conversation between Gabe and Gris that he overheard earlier and also to the one where Gabe tells him that destiny has decided that Reinaldo is the man who will make Gris happy. TC comes in and asks if they can spend the day together but he has too much to do at work and Simon can't run things all the time. She thinks he's still mad at her for their fight about Iris. "Don't even go there," he warns her.

JP asks Ro how he deals with TC's constant humiliations. He says he's "unconditional." And he says he would tolerate whatever humiliation JP would dole out….grrrr! JP looks disgusted. Reinaldo comes into the kitchen to make breakfast. Why did he put on his jacket upstairs only to take it off in the kitchen? JP can't take being around Ro and leaves.

MARIDO viernes 11 de octubre Part 2

Babs tells Kikito that she'll find a way for them to be together. She's going to take him to the beach, to the zoo. Kikito whispers that he wants her to come live with him in Gris' house. Babs tells him that could be a little difficult.

In the kitchen Gris warns José to keep his nose out of her business. He says Babs is a family matter. "You are not my family!" I love how Miguel Varoni says some things: "¿Perrrrrdón? They fight some more and he winds up asking her if she was faithful to him all the time he was gone. "Out of my house!" He takes that to be a yes. He runs out to the living room and tells Babs it's time to go. Jethro comes in and wants to know why they are there. José tells him they came for a visit. Jethro warns him not to bring Babs there again. Kikito is upset by this. Seriously, this kid is going to have major problems.

Outside Babs admires Gris' house. José asks her if she should be living there. "Yes, at my son's side. He needs me." "Is Jethro part of the package?" "Could be" "Ah…everyone knows the boxer is now poor and my son is now rich." "Money isn't the most important thing in life." "Come on…I wasn't born yesterday." ("los dientes no son de leche," "I don't have milk teeth.")

Esther wonders if JP will come to the hospital to bring her home. Meanwhile Reinaldo asks JP if he's going to pick her up. He says he knows he should but he can't. He told her he didn't want to be part of this pregnancy. Reinaldo can't believe his ears.

Gris advises Jethro (for the umpteenth time) to get Babs out of his head.

Gabe goes to pick up Esther at the hospital and who should appear? Yes, Mr. I Don't Want Anything To Do With This Baby. He asks to speak to Esther alone but she says they have nothing to discuss.

TC asks Marcela to lunch but Marcela doesn't think it's a good idea because the nature of their agreement doesn't lend itself to lunch. TC tells Fernando she'll get what she deserves.

Gris is going out and tells Iris to pick up Kikito's room. Before she leaves she asks if any of the neighbors have answered her invitation. Iris tells her the only answer she's received is silence. Mario says it's chic to respond late. Across the way TC is asking the same thing of Ro and he gives her the same response: "No one. They may be indecisive because Gris is giving a party at the same time on the same day." TC has Ro call Iris for info but she won't divulge anything. She and Mario go up to Gris' bedroom to look for the "Babs" money. (Recall that José is blackmailing her.) Honestly, neither one would make it as a thief. Under the bed is one of the first places to look. I wasn't sure what to make of the scene with TC holding a dagger to Iris' throat. Did that happen and I missed it? Or was it fantasy? Is the part about the five letters to five different lawyers true?

TC gets the car keys from Manuel. She picks up Marcela (Paloma sees them from behind a tree) and they go to The Other White Tablecloth Restaurant in Miami. (Thanks to the one who pointed that out.)

Babs and José return home and she complains about all the dust. Elio has a wheelbarrow full of stuff he excavated. José informs her that you can't renovate if you don't tear down first. She goes upstairs. Elio tells him she suspects something but José says leave her to me.

Ro sees Manuel in the kitchen having coffee and is concerned TC is driving alone. Outside the restaurant, Marcela asks to see the money. It's in a briefcase in the trunk. TC shows it to her and then they go inside. We see a suspicious car with four men approach the restaurant. Inside TC and Marcela toast the end of their friendship while Fernando looks on from outside the window.

SANTA:
Thanks Deb for the great recap and to everyone for the super comments.

I noticed that before Pancho got Transito out of the car at the place where the body was found, he asked the other cops not to let anyone know that she had been there. Now we know that at least one of other cops is dirty. So maybe the fact that Transito was with Pancho will get back to Patricio.

I agree with the comments on Patricio's abilities as an event planner.

When Vicente brought food to Willy the last time, he said that he hopes that Willy dies soon. If he wanted Willy to die, he could have let him be killed in prison. I guess he could have wanted Willy to suffer.

Didn't Bert and Vicente arrange for Willy to be killed in prison because Santa had the evidence (the video) to exonerate him and they didn't want the scandal?

DYO

Hi Deb–I posted earlier that I would be willing to do the last 4 episodes (it's preempted by soccer one night) but I can't post them until late in the day because I go back to work tomorrow and I don't get home until 2:30.

If you or anyone else would like to recap, let me know. I would like to do the Gran Final myself though.

Santa
I think the the video was of Will resisting Babs.

MARIDO:

Great recap, Sue! Thank you. I agree not too much happened. But the possible attempt against Marcela should be exciting.

I do see Jose and Elio's story that they are "remodeling" the house lasting long, since they're not doing anything positive, just making holes. Barbie will probably find out their real game soon.

I wonder if JP's appearance had something to do with Ro's saying he had unconditional love for TC, so JP thought his love for Esther should be more unconditional. But if Gabe starts getting close to Ester, only to be dumped again with Ester taking JP back, that would be devastating for Gabe.

Jose asked if Gris was "faithful" to him (whatever that means, when he was dead). But I think she may just have gone all these years without male companionship, focusing on her work. We know that Jose was NOT faithful, and it was before he left, since he was gone 15 years, and Elio is well over 15, right?

I sure hope the $5 million is not still in that duffel bag.

MARIDO:

Typo - I meant to day I DON'T see Jos and Elio's story lasting long.

Santa

great comments all,

Adriana, always love your take on things,

Hombre, I never realized Patricio's twin has no name,
you are so good at this,

Variopinta, curious, have you ridden that trolley?
have you found a place that has a white picket fence,
and where is there a basement in south Florida, ha!
and do you recognize any of the scenes in Marido, which was filmed in Hollywood, Florida.

Kelly, always with the good thoughts, Willy?

Beth, your comments add sooo much color,

Jean, great wrap up of last week,

I had forgot about that crooked cop, well, I've pretty much put aside the whole Ivan thing since it all seems so hopeless, with Humberto in charge. Also the Pancho investigation of human trafficking, where he is assuming that Transito, the madam of Trebol de Oro, is totally innocent, really shakes the tree of common sense. I imagine in Marrero prostitution is legal, and I would guess well regulated, but no one seems to know who the owner of this house is, or cares.

Another subject I don't think anyone has mentioned here (which I saw discussed at TW) is the talk between Humberto and Vicente in Ines' bedroom, didn't Vicente point out that Santa (who brought up Ines' relation to Willy at the wedding) is once again causing major problems, followed by, when are you going to get rid of her, (which lets us see this small bit of goodness Humberto has chained up in his own basement) Vicente is actually making Humberto look good.

Marido,

thanks so much Sue for the recap,

it seems the way the family treats Barbara, kikito can only get the idea that the only way to see his mom is to run off with her, this worries me.

DyO,

Sue, I love your recaps because you add so much detail which I don't get, and if you want to do all 4 recaps that really works for me, but I worry that you are doing too much, (too much as in not always fun) especially since you do Marido recaps as well, (which may go to 2 hours the following week), so if you could use a break I can try to do Wednesday's, but I leave the decision up to you.

Deb if you want to do Wed's recap that would help me out a lot. I did recaps last week because I was on vacation and with the show ending I feel as though I should continue.

MARIDO

Two-hour episodes are going to kill me! I only recap Fridays and my Saturdays can be quite busy.

Santa

deb, Lots of things that I don't recognize, they could be west of my usual paths. I do know Mara's place very well, I used to go to the restaurant that was there. I think they combine locations, going in to Mara's, looks like another place on Las Olas Blvd, a passageway from parking lot to Las Olas with shops on each side. When Amanda jumped out of the car going to her wedding, that was on Las Olas in front of a new restaurant, American Social.
The hospital, police station are not familiar to me at all.
The law office bldg does look familiar & one of the days I'm going in search of it. I think I know the area where Victoria lives & also the Canos. There was a park a while ago that I didn't recognize.

Makes it fun to watch.

I don't watch Marido anymore but I knew exactly where Griselda was skinny dipping, by the jetties north of the Port of Miami. I used to live in Miami many years ago.

DyO

ok Sue, I'll plan on doing the summary this Wednesday.

Santa,

thanks Variopinta,
I've spent some time in Ft. Lauderdale, but it's been awhile.
