MINAS #67 Part 1

Emilia sits on her son’s bed, comforting him as she strokes his cheek with her finger. “Mama” he murmurs, not awake.

Cayetana brings a basket of food to the hospital which Marijo does not appreciate. Gael is another story, thoroughly enjoying his sammie much to Marijo’s disgust and Cayetana’s barely concealed smirk.

Tigre asks Orlando if he has returned to the police but the answer is no. Tigre seems to rue his answer saying how corrupt things are. They shake hands and Orlando looks after him thoughtfully.

Fidel visits Shelob’s lair. Why are you here she demands. I believe she tells him Leo is interested in Victoria.

Miriam is giving Sebastian the cold shoulder as he didn’t come home last night. He tries to explain about Nico but she is obsessed, saying he is in love with Victoria.

“Papa” Nico enthuses as Leo comes in, Victoria quickly moving away from the seat next to Nico’s bed. Leo settles in, his eyes shining. He tells Nico if it were not for Victoria and a few others, things would have turned out very differently. Te quiero mucho Nico smiles and they fist bump, Leo tilting his head toward Nico’s shoulder.

Sebastian is frustrated, trying to tell a “I don’t want to hear it” Miriam that Nico is in the hospital; he almost died! She accuses him of being obsessed with Emillia. She also taunts him about his relationship with Victoria as he frustratingly defends as she is his jefe.

Gigi tells Addled he is a traitor for politically supporting Sara instead of her. Sara is your daughter he yells but she is not placated and is still furious. I believe she tells him to choose. She tells him it’s war!

Joaquina is trying to help Roberta and gets reamed out for her trouble. Fidel comes in and asks they be left alone. He talks about Emilia and Victoria and later Orlando but the conversation was above me so kindly fill in anything important I might have missed.

MINAS #67 Part 2 of 2

Emilia helps feed Nico the obligatory hospital Jello. Nico asks Victoria about her son. Who is he and what is he like? Guapo and wonderful she enthuses. Nico would like to be his friend but he needs to get to know him. He asks if he can find him on the internet. Well, does she at least have a photo he asks as Leo nods in agreement. Now Victoria is really starting to panic!

“Abuelita” Nico smiles happily as Zaira, Tigre and Gael come in. Tigre thanks Victoria for everything she has done, echoed by Nico. There is some good-natured conversation as Leo and Victoria take their leave.

Leo invites Victoria to grab a bite. They sit outside and engages the men sitting at the other picnic table in conversation. Victoria is very comfortable eating her food. Leo tells her she is a wonderful mujer and seems smitten.

Danilo seems to be getting anxious, eyes glued to the phone. He shows Aleida an article titled “Roberta Castro Internada” and reads to her. Aleida shakes her head and calls Roberta a disgrace.

Nico explains what happened and the dare from his “friends” about going to the cursed cave. Roberta comes in and Zaira reluctantly cedes her seat to Roberta. We see Roberta is limping but seems none the worse for wear. Rats. She talks about wanting him home.

I believe Addled tells Sara that politically, she is perfect for the presidency. She has the ideal family and is a good mother and madastra. And my mother Sara queries, folding her arms? Sara expresses her doubts but Addled seems determined swooping Romina up in his arms and herding the family out the door.

Nico asks Zaira if he can tell her a secret. When I was lost in the woods, I saw my mother, she is alive! Gael looks stricken (for obvious reasons!).

Orlando and Jenny are discussing Fidel, he getting agitated and she telling him to calm down. Speaking of the devil, Fidel enters on cue. “Mi amor” Orlando says kissing her on the forehead, intimating she should leave them to talk which she does. Orlando says something about “corrupt” and mentions Jennifer. Fidel seems to give him a warning, says something about tomorrow. If anyone can add anything here, kindly do so.

Zaira kisses Nico and gently assures him that he only imagined seeing Emilia. He hallucinated as he was so sick and weak.

Gael gets a text from Victoria saying she needs to see him. He texts her back immediately and rushes off, evading Tigre’s question as to where he is going. Zaira raises her eyebrows, suspicions aroused.

Leo shows up to take Roberta home. Fidel comes in and Roberta is instantly alert, staring hard. This isn’t the time Roberta says to Fidel, a stern warning in her voice. However, Fidel is not to be deterred and presses on saying Leo is the son of the woman he loves. He wants his permission to marry Roberta!

Gael runs into Victoria’s arms. Ahhh, he isn’t alone, Zaira is hot on his heels. She runs up to Gael, tearing him out of Victoria’s embrace, upbraiding him and calling her a zorra! Victoria is silent at first as a smile plays on her face. Don’t be angry at Gael she urges; Zaira, he is my hermano. Zaira stares, shocked. Hermano? Yes Gael says, it is Emilia, she is alive!” I am Emilia Sanchez” Victoria affirms. And with that pronouncement, Zaira faints dead away!!

Diana

Minas
Thanks, Diana.
Roberta told Fidel she will get rid of Victoria once she is no longer needed. Fidel seemed to think Victoria was on their side, but Roberta thinks V is just like her: able to pretend when it suits her and might even have saved her to win some points. R thinks Victoria fancies Leo. Later Fidel suggests they get rid of Victoria right now. Roberta has her doubts. She even acuses him of being the one who tried to kill Victoria in the parking lot. He denies it. Roberta asks Fidel for some permisions he has promised her. I believe it's work permits she wants and says they need a reliable person for this. That's why Fidel goes to Orlando later. He tells Orlando he will occupy his post from tomorrow. Orlando asks him not totake his restaurant from him. Howcan Fidel even do it? Fidel says life is unfair.
Sara told Addled she has asked Leo for divorce, which makes Addled angry because it ruins their perfect family angle.
Miriam remains hard to like throughout this tale. Why she agreed to have a relationship with Seb if she knew from the start he still loved E? I thought she learnt her lesson. But her behaviour today really makes me wonder how far she'd be willing to go just to keep Seb.

"MINAS" EPISODE#67:

Diana: Let's see: Now Gael, Zaira & Sebastian now know Victoria is Emilia. Can folks keep their mouths shut ?

Crazy Whacky Blonde Sara is running for President of Mexico ? LOL!

Waterlily: Something tells me Miriam is going to cause problems later on in this Telenovela.

I should note Psycho Roberta & Fidel including their cronies are still increasing the Body Count.

Minas

Diana, you beat me to it. Thank you SO much for your excellent recap. The time the episodes are showed is problematic for me; I'm 7 hours in front of the website's time. That's why I usually do Friday.

I'll have more time in the afternoon; I just wanted to explain why I didn't answer yesterday. I go to sleep early too so I was asleep by the time this was posted!

Although I have to say I feel a little bad that you do 4 episodes a week and I only do 1. In the upcoming weeks I'll try to write 2 recaps a week.

VENCER #17

As the story goes meandering along . . .

Flashback: Genaro notices that Dulce isn't wearing her bracelet. She says it is very special for her and informs Genaro that if they are going to be in a serious relationship, she has to tell him something. She gets a text and hides her cellphone from him. He goes beserk accusing her of treating him like a fool.

Manuela and Pablo bring the newly found bracelet to the prosecutor so he can have it compared to the one that was on Dulce and the one that came with the corpse that he viewed. All the prosecutor can tell them is that the corpse that had Damián's ID belongs to a Brian López who was a thief and belonged to a gang in La Caldera. A frustrated Pablo concludes that is where he must have known Damián from.

Genaro tells Yaneli he just sold his motorcycle but his anger explodes when Yaneli tells him that she is going to work whether he likes it or not. He follows her and sees that she is now working where Dulce worked. Yaneli is still trying to get her scholarship back.

Amanda texts all of the women hat she doesn't want any more in person meetings about Dulce. She doesn't want to see Manuela, who acts like a feminist but is really a husband stealer, again.

Paloma tells her parents they need therapy for their gambling addiction and is very angry that they have put her in the financial position she is now in. Her father has a "brilliant" idea. She can sell her apartment!! It isn't as if she would want them to live THERE!!! (It is in El Peñón de la Esperanza where doña Efi lives) She doesn't care where it is. She bought it with her OWN money. Dulce's apartment is released to her and her father is right there insisting that she sell it. She is not happy with him.

Enrique tells Amanda that she has been an inspiration to him wanting to start living again. Amanda makes it clear she doesn't have any time for a relationship. He also tells her about what he thinks of her running any time her ex calls. She will only be free when her ex kicks the bucket. She is losing the very freedom she wanted so much and had. Surprisingly, Amanda takes what he says to heart and tells the Louse that she is helping him out but she will not treat him as if he were still her husband. Her life doesn't revolve around him. Later, Enrique comes by the shop nervous that Amanda will hold what he told her against him. She doesn't and agrees to date him.

The Louse and Louse Jr. meet and discuss Louse Jr.'s situation which he seems to think he is in total control of. We find out that Louse Jr. knew all about his father's infidelities and always kept quiet until it reached the point where he couldn't anymore.

Franco is still hemming and hawing about Paloma. He admits that he misses her. He decides that he can finish the Biogene Lab campaign on his own.

Manuela has a heart to heart with the brat and admits she made mistakes with her and is sorry for them. They seem to be reconciled for now. She leaves a message for Lorena so they can talk about the situation with Leandro.

Pablo goes to a specialist to get a second opinion about Pablito's illness. The doctor thinks that he has the right diagnosis but he wants to examine Pablito and get some tests done. Pablo tells Carmina that he will arrange a time for them to come to Mexico City. In the mean time, he is talking to and meeting with Manuela. She tells him about her past. He doesn't think she has anything to be ashamed of. She has been supporting a daughter and deserves to be loved and respected. He finally takes a risk and tells her that she is the kind of woman he could fall in love with and kisses her. She kisses him back. Little does he know is that Carmina is at the airport in Guadalajara with Pablito, coming give him a surprise visit! Carmina is worried about his friendship with Manuela.

MINAS

Thank you Waterlily for all the info you supplied!

Fidel turns on a dime doesn't he??? Ack.

I do have one question. "He tells Orlando he will occupy his post from tomorrow". Can you clarify that a bit? Does it mean Fidel wants Orlando back on the police department or something else? I hate that he has complete control over Orlando. I can't wait for Fidel's demise.

I appreciate your noting Sara told Addled she wanted a divorce; I thought so but the dialogue was so fast and furious, I was trying to figure out one line and they were onto the next!

I agree; Miriam seems determined to hold onto Sebas at all costs. She is desperate.

Diana

MINAS

No problem Waterlily!

You usually give some notice when you can do a recap (other than Friday) so when I hadn't seen anything, figured you wouldn't be able to do it.

If in the future you might be able to do another episode in addition to Friday, kindly just post something to that effect when you can; I realize the time difference is a major issue.

Can't wait to be able to sit back and relax and watch tonight's epi. I know your recap will be excellent!

Diana

VENCER

Jarifa, thank you for your beautifully crafted recap.

As much as I like this, there are so many things that I don't understand, that are over my head. It is only due to your crystal clear, always sharp observations that I am able to follow what transpires. I am so appreciative of all that you do.

There were several upsetting scenes but the one that stayed with me was with Everardo. He asked for coffee and Amanda then asked her staff for it. I believe he said no, he wanted Amanda to get it!! He did back down but he is so loathsome, so controlling, so evil, the scene turned my stomach.

And speaking of stomach churning, Octavio saying he "...has a "brilliant" idea. She can sell her apartment!! It isn't as if she would want them to live THERE!!!" OMG! Instead of apologizing, vowing to change and thanking her for providing a place for them to live, Paloma gets that!! Shame on he and Adela.

Amanda has slipped in my estimation due to her childish refusal to see Manuela and her continual kowtowing to Everardo. Thank heavens Enrique set her straight.

I hope there is a cure for Pablito. I like Pablo and Manuela together.

Diana

Minas #67

Thanks, Waterlily for this. I didn't get to see last night's episode until this morning.

Miriam's desperation is getting on my nerves. It's obviously getting on Sebas' nerves because he almost blew Emilia's cover. She will likely be the next to find out or figure it out and that could put Em's life in danger again.

Zaira will keep quiet about this but will have a hard time keeping it from Julian who would not be able to keep this to himself.

Roberta needs to be the last to know and I hope Emilia/Victoria gives her hell.

Sarah did look a little creeped out in her argument with Addled when he made the suggestion that Gilberta could die.

I keep forgetting to mention this but Moises Peñaloza (Orlando) looks like he belongs as the lead of teen movies prior to 1964. He should have a nice career ahead.

Minas
Diana, I'm not quite sure what post Fidel wants Orlando to have. That's why I quoted him. But if it's work permits, maybe it's something in the government? Fidel hasn't sacked ezequiel as far as I can remember so I imagine it's a different post Fidel might have had in mind. Who handles work permits? I'm not sure what's going on with Orlando and his new 'job'. And what will happen to his restaurant/bar?

MINAS

"Sarah did look a little creeped out in her argument with Addled when he made the suggestion that Gilberta could die". Urban, thank you. I hadn't understood that! Hopefully, Sara was shocked! She's done a lot of terrible things but not speaking out and squelching that awful idea would be unredeemable.

I agree Zaira will have a hard time not telling Tigre..

I think Moises is dreamy and am sure bigger, better parts are ahead of him! :)

Diana

MINAS

Waterlily, thank you...Great point in that Ezeq still has his job (more's the pity) so Fidel likely wants Orlando slated to take another job although what that might be, I'm not sure. In real life, yes, it would be some type of government job as you noted.

The restaurant means so much to Orlando. I hope Fidel is rotting in jail before he Orlando loses it.

I was hoping this would be around 80 episodes but now, I'm not sure. I can't find out how many there will actually be - does anyone know??

Diana

Minas

Diana, IIRC I wrote earlier this week that I might do Thursday's recap if I have spare time, but you're right, I should have repeated it closer to Thursday. It was at the end of a long comment too so that didn't help much. I'm glad you wrote such an amazing recap, like always! And thanks so much to Waterlily for her helpful additions!

I'm surprised Emilia revealed herself to Zaira. Wasn't she the one who said anyone who knows about her true identity is in danger?

The vibora jokes were excellent!

Sara is getting on my last nerve...

I agree that the writers are giving us false hope about Emilia with Sebas; last week, Emi said "te amo, Sabas", which confused me, because as far as I know "amar" is usually for family members and romantic relationships. Maybe she said it to indicate how close they are? Still, these galán games are really irritating. We had the same stuff in Invencible.

Minas - Number of episodes

Diana, this will have 107 episodes. You got close!

VENCER

Thanks, Diana. I am glad that you brought up that coffee scene with Everardo. He was so disgusting but on more than one occasion he has told Amanda that even though they are divorced, he still considers her his wife. What a twisted way of thinking.!
Now I can understand how Dulce could afford the apartment since it was in El Peñón de la Esperanza. At this point, I kind of hope that Paloma's parents lose the house and they end up living there. It might be a nice dose of reality every day. How will she be able to trust them with ANY money since they are addicts (who need to get jobs even though they would like to be retired). i am sure the her father sees the money from the apartment sale as just more $$$$ to fuel his habit no matter what he says.

Vencer

Thanks so much, Jarifa. Sometimes I can understand what’s happening and then sometimes I’m completely lost. I had no idea what Género and Dulce were talking about in the flashback.

I’m glad Amanda refused to get Everado his coffee. I wonder if what Enrique said to her made her do some thinking. I like her less with each episode but hopefully she’ll realize what’s really going on with Leandro. She must know her husband is a louse. I find it sickening that father and son are working together so he can have his wife and someone on the side.

The only mistake Manuela made with the brat was allowing her to get away with being a brat. Why should she apologize for dumping a married man. Maybe apologize for getting pregnant. I’m afraid there will now be two women that accuse Manuela of being a home wrecker. Although I don’t care what Carmina thinks I can see Lorena and Amanda thinking Manuela is some horrible man hungry person.

I’m so disappointed in Paloma’s parents. I hope she doesn’t give in. She’ll be bailing them out the rest of their lives.

Liz

VENCER

Liz, ITA that Manuela apologizing was not smart because she did nothing wrong. I doubt it will make any difference to the brat when push comes to shove and will give more ammunition to Leandro via the brat who is sure to tell him.

Vencer #17

Gracias, Jarifa.

I continue to be appalled at Amanda. Here's hoping no harm, comes to her or her sweet little dog. Everardo would have no qualms about that, so here's hoping that Leandro would.

She will ultimately owe a major apology to Manuela.

Octavio and Adela really got my dander up. They need to face the music and get jobs. They want to impose a modern version of Tita Syndrome on Paloma and that is criminal. She needs to disown these worthless moochers.

Minas

Dear Diana, thank you so much. I still can't watch , but I see some photos that help me get some visuals in my head .

It seems that we are tumbling and turning to the end , so maybe 80 episodes in all . ????? Just a guess.

After being tricked by the Invincible writers that they were giving viewers what they wanted , and getting a finale I definitely bated , I am not getting my hopes up about the heart of gold good guy getting the girl. These writers will probably follow the old formula written in stone it seems of the lead actor ending up with the leading lady ....ho...hum. I wish they would shake things up , but In these shows, it appears that good guys do , in fact, finish last and don't get the girl. Bah humbug. Susan

Minas

Urban, yes, the Orlando actor does have a bit of a Fabian \ James Dean look about him with that hair style .

Vencer

Thanks, Jarifa.

He also tells her about what he thinks of her running any time her ex calls. She will only be free when her ex kicks the bucket. She is losing the very freedom she wanted so much and had.

Kudos to Enrique! My favorite scene.

I think I've been lulled into supporting Amanda because the actress usually plays a kind mother or friend, but her stupidity with Manuela has awakened me. Has it not occurred to Amanda that if Manuela was a hussy she would've milked Leandro for money all these years? Does Amanda not want to get to know her own granddaughter? (No one should have to suffer Julieta, but Amanda doesn't know that.)

Uh-oh, Manuela lets herself kiss a married man. Not good. No excuse.

MINAS

Weirdo, thank you for your kind words!

I was shocked Emilia told Zaira, but think she felt she had to only because of the situation with Gael. I can't see Zaira NOT telling Tigre though; he would be beside himself knowing she was told but didn't share it with him.

Susan, I fear that the writing is on the wall and it will be Leo and Emilia, speculation not spoiler. I hope that he grows a backbone between now and then. All in all, a good man but too impassive. Ack.

Susan, Weirdo said there are 107 episodes! I had hoped for 80 but...

Diana

Minas

Diana, is that 107 for this version of Minas or the original version ? I dont see how they can drag this show out for that many more episodes ! Yikes ! Susan

MINAS

107 epis for the current version Susan. I'm surprised as well...

Diana

Minas

Susan, the original one had 127! But yeah, we're in a point in the novela that's hard to drag out. The OG handled time differently, so it made more sense. But I'm also surprised how they'll build up the story from now on...

VENCER

Urban, if only Paloma has it in her “to disown the worthless moochers.”

Niecie, ITA about the kiss. It will be interesting to see what Manuela says about it tonight.

"MINAS":

Weirdo: 107 episodes for this current version. More problems for Victoria/Emilia (the female Franco Santorro) & Co.,

UA: Bold Prediction: Stupid Miriam will blow Emilia's cover which Crazy Roberta will target Emilia AGAIN.

Jarifa: Telemundo's version was much better if I'm being honest.

VENCER LA CULPA #18

Flashback: ten years earlier upon the birth of Pablito, Damián was already branded as a troublemaker.

Manuela tells Pablo that "the kiss" cannot happen again. They shouldn't see each other again but neither seems to be able to
agree that. They discuss their present situations and find many similarities because of their children having to be put first..

Amanda is grateful to Enrique that he made her realize now toxic her relationship was with her ex. She makes it clear she wants to take it slowly with him. Enrique is ending up the quite the joker and asks her if it is wise at their age to talk about taking it slowly. Clearly, he is not giving up and Amanda isn't really resisting.

Paloma's parents are still trying to get her to sell her apartment. She is not interested at this time.

The brat is still lying about her activities to her mother so she can get together with her father. She tells her father that her mother bought it all referring to her lie. Louse Jr. tells her that they are smarter than her mom so they will always find ways to see each other. He promises her a great party for her 15th birthday, and a cell phone besides her trip. Lorena spies on Louse Jr. with the brat. The brat asks about her grandma and is told by Louse Jr. what store she owns. The brat is her bratty self to everyone at the supper table. They all agree she is out of control since her father arrived on the scene. The next day the brat appears at Amanda's store. Amanda knows who she is but we do not see her reaction.

Pablo seems happy to see his son when Pablito and Lorena pay him a surprise visit. He takes his son to Chapultepec Park and to the doctor. The doctor tells Pablo and Lorena that Pablito's current condition resulted from a badly/untreated treated strep infection. There is treatment but it will take effort on all of their parts. Pedro is upset that his wife told him that she got a message from Damián telling him to stop looking for him and it was a lie.. She blames her sister Nancy. Pablo does not want to see Nancy at their home or around Pedrito. Pedro makes it clear to his wife that the only reason he is still with her is because of Pablito. She begs for another chance but it isn't happening.

Pablo goes to Peñón de la Esperanza in search of doña Efigenia. He runs into a woman on the street and asks if she knows where he can find the the doña. it seems everyone knows doña Efigenia and she tells him exactly where she lives. He also asks if she has seen his son Daimán as he shows her a photo. The woman recognizes the boy from doña Efigenia's building

Lorena goes to Manuela's workplace to confront her thinking she is Louse Jr.'s lover. Manuela admits that she was fifteen years ago but now the only thing she shares with him is their daughter. She sees Lorena as a victim of a narcissist AKA a victim of violence and tells her she needs to find somebody that she can trust and talk to. Lorena agrees and tells Manuela that she thought she would the problem but now realizes the problem is Louse Jr. She warns Manuela that even though she wants to keep her distance from Louse Jr., it will be difficult since he always goes after what he wants. Later she makes contact with Louse Jr. to tell him she has filed for divorce.

Yaneli gets her first pay in cash. She offers to give it to Genaro who says he will ask for it if he needs it.

Amanda won't go to the group update about Dulce which is being held at her old apartment. Yaneli offers to go in her place. When the other women ask why she is so interested in Dulce's disappearance, Yaneli says because what happened to Dulce could happen to anyone. Manuela tells them about finding the other red bracelet like Dulce's. When Paloma opens the door to Dulce's apartment, they find that it is totally turned over as if somebody had been searching for something.

VENCER

Jarifa, you captured every detail of tonight’s trials and tribulations perfectly. So well written!

I’m so happy and relieved Pablito’s condition is treatable – thank heavens! He is such a sweet kid. When Carmina put her hand in Pablo’s at the doctor’s office, I was happy to see he immediately put her hand back on her lap (where it belongs).

Leandro continues to nauseate. “Louse Jr. tells her that they are smarter than her mom so they will always find ways to see each other” was contemptuous. I thought he also told Julieta that Manuela was “controlling”. Talk about the pot calling the kettle!

I despised Everardo questioning Amanda about the text she received at dinner. I was pleased Amanda seemed to stand up for herself a bit, even mimicking his knocking on the table following his little speech. Enrique is already making an impact! 😊

Pablo is turning into quite the detective.

I felt sorry for Lorena but wish she would realize she would be so much better off without Leandro.

Not surprised Julieta showed up at Amanda’s work. I have a feeling Leandro will not be pleased. I wonder how Amanda will handle this…

Diana

"MINAS" EPISODE#68:

Diana, SpanProf, Waterlily, Weirdo, UA, Kirby: Any of y'all doing the recap of last night's episode ?

Vencer

Thanks so much Jarifa. I’m enjoying this show. I like mysteries and this has several. Who could have trashed Dulce’s apartment and what were they looking for. I’m wondering if she has something in her past that has someone wanting her. Or more than one, as I don’t think whoever took her trashed her apartment. But I’ve been wrong before!

I didn’t realize Lorena had warned Manuela about Leandro always going after what he wants. So she realizes what her husband is like. Now she needs to clue Amanda in. Amanda was going to be on her side a few episodes ago. But Leandro easily convinced her he was innocent of anything. He is really making a bratty kid even worse. I wonder if he cares anything for Julieta or is just using her. I really think he’s using her to get Manuela. I didn’t see Lorena spying on them, which is strange. I was scanning the cars going by hoping Lorena would see them.

Amanda knew who Julieta was right away. I wonder if she’ll embrace her or not be interested. Is Julieta smart enough to remain innocent or will she mention wanting a family with Leandro. I agree with Diana that Leandro will not be happy that Julieta did this on her own. I think he wants to control who knows what.

Paloma needs to ditch her parents. If she sells her apartment to save the house they’ll still lose the house eventually. She needs to do Tough Love with them.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 68 - Viernes, 8 de Diciembre, 2023

Some grow a backbone, some just fight with each other - Part 1/2

We start off with Zaira fainting when she hears that Victoria is actually Emilia.

Fidel starts saying some tonterías about being in love with Roberta. Leo reminds him of the betrayal of Ignacio and leaves sourly. Roberta screams at Fidel for saying all these stuff, but apparently he was being serious. He wants to give love a chance with Roberta.

After Zaira regains consciousness, Emilia tells her stuff she could only know if she were Emilia, like Zaira comforting her when she told her she was raped. Zaira cries but it still a little sceptical; she asks her when it's her birthday. Emilia replies "August 18, the same as my godfather Ignacio". Zaira then asks her where is she (Zaira) from and Emilia correctly answers Veracruz. Zaira is finally convinced and hugs her. She asks how it's possible, but Emilia says the important thing is that she's alive and back.

Trigger Warning: the next scene might make someone feel nauseous. Proceed with caution.

Sara is pretending to be a good mother. She ties Romina's laces and escorts her to her ballet class. I sincerely hope this kid changes shoes, because there's NO WAY you can do ballet in them. Danilo pops up from nowhere and tries to talk to her. Sebas is watching behind a tree. At last, Dan asks Sara how old Romina is. She says that she's 3 (a lie, I assume) and leaves. Dan is trying hard to calculate, like Mau used to.

Gigí is trying to convince some woman to help her with her political career. She says she'll pay back betrayal with betrayal, and referred to the "law of the jungle"; eat or get eaten. The woman seems convinced.

Sebas confronts Dan about the talk with Sara. Dan at first plays dumb. Sebas warns him that he's betraying Emi, Dan denies it. They go to eat something and Dan explains the whole situation with Sara (off-camera). He also says what they had was very strong and Leo was definitely not in the equation at that time. From the look on his face, I'm guessing Sebas is slowly realising the dates don't make any sense.

Nico sees Tigre after all this time. When Tigre -rightfully- complains about not having seen his grandchild for this long, Leo says something like "oh well, that's in the past, let's forget it and move on", what?! And an even more WTF moment is the one when Tigre AGREES!

Sara tries to emotionally manipulate her mom so she quits her dream of becoming a politician. Gigí thankfully doesn't let that discourage her and says they should be professional. "May the best win", she adds. Sara laughs a bit.

Emilia and Gael tell Zaira not to say anything, not even to Tigre, because Roberta might hear something about it. They also mention Leo and how he betrayed Emi, with Emi saying she'll take revenge on him too. Zaira says something about not letting her heart be full of envy.

Leo gets back home with Nico, Tigre, Zaira and Gael. Joaquina greets them and Marijó pops up. Before she has a chance to talk to Gael, Cayetana enters in the room, holding a delicious looking cake, which ruins Marijó's mood. Joaquina tries to keep the situation under control, but Mar leaves. They agree to play a board game (Monopoly?) but Sara enters and says that she and Leo have arranged something for that time. Zaira, Tigre and Gael say they'll leave. Noooo!

Cayetana goes to the kitchen, where Mar is and asks her bluntly if she likes Gael. If Mar's not willing to fight with him, she will. Mar pretty much tells her it's personal and gets more pissed.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 68 - Viernes, 8 de Diciembre, 2023

Some grow a backbone, some just fight with each other - Part 2/2

Leo and Sara go somewhere private. He screams at her for ruining the one day when Roberta let Nico see his grandparents. Sara joins in the screaming and Leo angrily tells her he wants a divorce, or at least take some time off. Sara looks like she got smacked in the face and legit starts CRYING. In the most pathetic way possible. She says that they have a family (nice time to remember it) and that she doesn't want to lose them. Leo tries to calm her down and looks like he's having second thoughts.

There's a scene with Orlando with Addled that I was lost in the dialogue.

Orlando was then talking to Flor about some post Addled gave him, did it have to do with public relations or did I misunderstand? He then says his father will pay blah blah and looks a bit suspicious of Flor at some point, but I don't think he's figured that out. Flor is a bit awkward during the dialogue.

Aleida pops up at some time by the bar and they have a nice chat with Orlando. She says something I didn't catch and he tells her his mom used to say that. Little did he know...

Leo is by himself and thinking back to many scenes, including the whole flower fiasco. Joaquina comes up to him and he tells her he asked Sara for some time off. She pretty much tells him to divorce her, it'll be worse for the kids if they're together. They'll grow up thinking tolerating someone is the right thing to do or something along the lines of that. Leo at some point says that Sara is loyal and Joaquina just puts emphasis on the word. I hope she tells him soon about the affair...

Aleida talks to Emilia about Danilo being in love with Sara. Emilia gets very upset, how could Dan love Sara when there's si many people? So many better people? Okay, the last question was my addition. But come on now! Sebas comes and Al leaves them to talk.

Zaira serves some delicious looking food on the table. Tigre says she hasn't made this since Gael was 10! She replies that they have a reason to celebrate and Gael looks like he's having a heart attack. She quickly adds that it's the fact Roberta let them see Nico that should be celebrated. And she feels as if Emilia is protecting them from wherever she is. Tigre looks a bit confused...

Sebas also wants to tell her about Dan and Sara. Emilia says Aleida just told her. He informs her it was something that happened before he met her. Emilia insists that Dan won't betray them, he's like a brother to her, like he (Sebas) is. She asks Sebas how it's going with Míriam. He honestly replies that it isn't going well because she's jealous of "Victoria". "But she's right to be", he adds. Emi doesn't look like she can deal with this right now but Sebas insists on telling her how he feels and Emi giving him a chance.

And with Sebas being desperate, we have the Fin del Capítulo.

Just wonderful Weirdo! Loved the title…

“Trigger Warning: the next scene might make someone feel nauseous”. Proceed with caution had me smiling and nodding my head in vigorous agreement. Perfect!

I wish the scene between Sara and Romina rang true, but I felt myself squirming. Could she possibly love her daughter? She isn’t exactly a demonstrative or warm woman (unless she is playing up to Leo) so the jury is still out.

“Leo angrily tells her he wants a divorce, or at least take some time off. Sara looks like she got smacked in the face and legit starts CRYING. In the most pathetic way possible…Leo tries to calm her down and looks like he's having second thoughts” mirrored that scene exactly! I have no use for Leo’s indecisiveness. Good heavens man, decide how you feel, make a plan and stick to it.

There’s so much suspicion now about Danilo, I hope they don’t keep the fact he’s Romina’s father til the last episode.

Contrary to her own belief, Roberta is not the law of the land. Leo should have circumvented seeking her “permission” so Nico could have seen his grandparents soon. But he didn’t. Another underserved “E-Z” pass.

I thought Fidel might have secured a town governmental job for Orlando that deals with issuing permits but that’s strictly a guess. I understand almost none of the conversations Orlando has with Fidel.

“Sebas being desperate” is exactly right. I love the guy but he is thick as a brick. It’s brotherly love, not true love on Emilia’s part and that is not going to change (sadly I add).

Thanks, Weirdo, great read.

I don’t like that now 3 people know about Emilia. None would tell willingly but there’s been a close call. If Miriam finds out she will tell Roberta. Then she thinks she’ll get Sebas. I like her less and less each time she appears. How awful that Sebas gets no peace in his own home.

I was so mad at Sara for the way she treated Tigre and family. Leo should have tried a lot harder to keep Nico in contact with Emilia’s family. He’s still pretty spineless. He’ll have to have an amazing transformation to be worthy of Emilia. And he should definitely split with Sara, they’re miserable together.

So Sara lied about Romina’s age. At least Dan is asking her age. Yes he’s like Mauricio, but hopefully smarter! I guess Sebas had already figured it out. I hope he tells Emilia

I am so uninterested in Marijo, Cayetano and Gael. The girls act like they’re 14.

I’m surprised Fidel wants to marry Roberta. He knows she killed Ignacio. And I wouldn’t be surprised if she killed her first husband too. Leo shouldn’t have the guilt of killing his father on him. I just don’t know how she would have done it, especially since we saw the flashback.

Interesting that Roberta plans to kill Victoria even though Victoria saved her life.

Even though we have these awful cold blooded characters, Roberta and Fidel, I dislike Addled the most. He’s way out of his league!

Thanks so much, weirdo. I love your sense of humour.
I never thought I'd ever find a love confession funny but that scene with Roberta repeatedly asking Fidel to shut up and him insisting it's all true was funny. I don't know what it was about it that amused me. Maybe because it was unexpcted.
But that random scene with Sara and Romina was just so odd. Am I supposed to believe that Sara is just being mean to her daughter because, according to her, 'women need to be strong?' I mean, she seems to almost actively avoid the child. And the whole 'I work because I love her' speech from earlier is a lie too. Sara works because she wants to. It just so happens working provides money she can use to pay for things her daughter needs. But I will never believe it's solely out of love for her daughter. I often wonder what it is like to have any kind of relationship with a very selfish person. Sara still seems to think she is the centre of the universe. She used the kids to convince Leo to stay with her. That's not love. Leo didn't listen to Joaquina when she told him not to marry so I don't have much hope he'll listen this time. But maybe he will realise Sara hassomeone if that memory of flowers stuck with him. Funny how Sara making a scene andthen in the same breath saying they have 'two kids' when she had just told people her 'other kid' loves 'we have other plans' didn't make Leo realise just how self-absorbed and mean she is. Doesn't he think, like ever? Or is his thinking slower than Mauricio's counting was?
I'm currious why writers pick galanes like Leo as their leads. What are we supposed tolike about them? I just don't get what the point of this is. Zaira said something along the lines of 'I won't say anything' when E brought up Leo's betrayal. It almost appears that it's enough he didn't sleep with Sara for him to become worthy of E all of a sudden. Who told these writers sex is the only way you can betray someone? Being spineless and gullable and always trying to act within the limits of the 'law' when everyone is corrupt isn't exactly a medal worthy behaviour.
Leo and Sara deserve each other because they are the only ones who can tolerate the other. Danilo hasn't spent enough time with her. All that fraud he was accused of begins to seem not so significant when I realise Sara hasn't done a single selfless thing in the entire show.
I think Orlando was wondering if the dinner Addled was organising for Victoria was still going to happen, given that Roberta was still recovering and that Leo and Sara might not be in the mood for celebrations because of what happened to Nico. It's funny when someone is so wrong about a person's motives for something. Nico could have died and Sara would have gone to a party if she could be sure she'd get away with it and if her relationship with Leo wasn't in danger. Addled said he invited all the important people.
Orlando told Flor he was interested in justice and that's why he wanted to work as a police cheef. It's all a response to Flor's very good question as to why he doesn't just leave if he is so unhappy. According to him, leaving is the easy way out. I mean, but once he realised he didn't have the courage to go against his father, why still stay? He tells he is now the director de obras publicas del municipio. I imagine it's a governement post. He says he doesn't want the post but 'a veces se hace lo quese debe' and Aleida finishes 'no lo que se quiere.', which means sometimes one does what one must and not what one wants to. Apparently his mum used to say this to him about his homework.
I was also mad at Leo for saying tigre should just forget he was unable to see his grandson for a year. This is one of his favourite refrains I think because it's not the first time I'm hearing it.

Weirdo , thank you for bringing us all the usual lying, dying, and crying as people swing their partners and go round and round with Seb still hopelessly devoted to Em and overjoyed knowing now that Vic is Em!!!! , while Leo is making puppy dog eyes at Vic without a clue that she is Em .Woof. I wonder why the writers didn't make Seb recognize that Vic is Em . Perhaps they didn't want to do that because that would show that Seb is Em's soulmate . Neither Leo nor Seb recognized her , so they are on equal ground . I find it so strange that the writers decided to make her half brother Gael the only one who knew Vic was Em .Why?

Sara is awful . I have a bad feeling that the writers are going to redeem both Sara and Miriam and reward them with Dan and Seb. Boo.

So many great comments!

Diana, ITA about Leo. "Good heavens man, decide how you feel, make a plan and stick to it" was perfect! And him not letting Nico see his grandparents just because Roberta didn't allow it is so stupid. I like him less and less each episode. If, say, he let Nico see them behind Roberta's back, that would have been more galán-like behaviour and still in-character. Or finally speak up and tell Roberta she can't control everyone like they're her marionettes!

And I was nodding IRL when I saw your comment about Sebas. Emilia literally told him three seconds earlier that she sees him as a brother. He's one of the best characters, but I hate how pushy he is regarding to him loving Emi. I mean, that's what Míriam did to him and he didn't like it! Why is he doing it to Em? Maybe he thinks she'll do what he did and say yes?

Liz, I'm also worried about the number of people who know about Emi. They need to be very careful, something that they're not currently doing.

"He’ll [Leo] have to have an amazing transformation to be worthy of Emilia." was so true. I'm losing hope in getting a nicely written relationship between our galán and our prota.

Tbh, I also couldn't care less about Marijó, Cayetana and Gael. And honestly? Mar thinks she can get Gael jealous, but when he does it she gets mad?

"Interesting that Roberta plans to kill Victoria even though Victoria saved her life." That was cut from my video! Thank so so much for adding it.

Waterlily, I loved your paragraph about Sara. I can't believe how some characters keep claiming Sara is independent and empowered. This is just bad use of language, which would have been funny if it wasn't so unnerving. And "independent" does NOT mean avoiding your child as much as you possibly can. "Loving" and "independent" aren't antonyms.

I laughed out loud at "Doesn't he [Leo] think, like ever? Or is his thinking slower than Mauricio's counting was?" Perfect!

And ITA with Leo betraying Emi anyway even though he actually didn't do anything with Sara. Remember that time when he saw the mental hospital in which his great love was in getting burnt and he ran away?

Thanks SO much for explaining the scenes with Orlando. For some reason I am having trouble to follow his talks with Fidel and Addled.

Susan, I unfortunately also have the same bad feeling about Sara and Míriam. It'll be amusing to see how they'll try to redeem them. They've both done so many horrible things that I doubt it'll be written nicely.

"I find it so strange that the writers decided to make her half brother Gael the only one who knew Vic was Em .Why?" Me too! And she's exactly the same as well, which makes it funnier. I was sure Sebas would recognise her and yet he didn't. And I wanted Zaira to be the first one to recognise her, since we have such a useless galán. But having only Gael realise this was weird...

Fun fact: I just realised that Emilia saying her birthday is on August 18 is an easter egg. The novela had a pre-estreño digital on August 18 in México.

Gracias, Jarifa.

Glad to see Pablo sticking to his guns about getting a divorce. Pablo, hurry up so you can resume kissing Manuela. We need some romance.

Enrique is just what the doctor ordered for Amanda. Tee-hee-hee -- "wise at their age to talk about taking it slowly"?

Looking forward to seeing how it goes with Amanda and Julieta.

Busy weekend. Thanks for all of your comments. Lots of possibilities for most of the plots. ; )
