VENCER LA CULPA #52 Page One

Yay! Only one episode!

In the hospital room, Carmina tells Pablo that unnatural thing, that aberration in the bed is Damián. Manuela tries to get her to tone down her rhetoric. That doesn't work and Pablo goes beserk insisting that she cannot be his son. (Hmm . . he kicked Damián out when he was only 15 and this is five years later, might that not also be a reason he is not recognizing the person in the bed??? Sorry, but I am still not on the Pablo team) ) Pablo wants that DNA test done. Pablo is out of his mind with wondering who really is in that hospital bed. Carmina tries to poison his mind against Manuela saying she must have knows but decided not to tell him. Manuela says she couldn't because she wasn't sure herself. Carmina will not tell Pablo how she found out that Dulce was Damián. Carmina refuses to say. He asks when she talked to Nora Pardo. Carmina is still not saying a thing. She reminds him that Damián was trying to pervert Pablito. If it weren't for her, Pablito could be like Damián right now. She only wants Pablo to remember that she was the one who brought him to Damián. Her last bit of advice to Pablo is that it is time to consider Damián dead no matter what the results of the DNA test are.

Genaro tells Yaneli that Dulce is Damián. Genaro didn't have a clue. He was really involved with her and then one day she came up with having to tell him something and it turned out that she was a transgender girl who was once named Damián. She told him what a hell of an experience it was to change from a boy to a girl. It was a big deal. Genaro admits he acted so ignorantly. He refused to listen to her. He got really violent. Yaneli admits that she saw it all when he had grabbed Dulce and was shaking her. They show us the scene in a flashback where he was demanding that Dulce tell him the truth. Dulce broke away and slapped him in the face. He looked like he was going to punch her. Dulce walked away crying as he ran after her telling her to wait up. In the present, Yaneli asks if he was following Dulce to beat her up. He is taken aback and looks hurt that Yaneli still would have doubts about him. She asks how was she supposed to know? He adds that if she didn't doubt him, he probably wouldn't be in jail right now. He tells her to say goodbye to Vic for him. It turns out hat Genaro called Vic when he was arrested but Vic told Yaneli that he didn't know he was in jail.
She caught Vic in a lie anklets him know.

Vic tells Yaneli to get home early. She tells him to buzz off. Vic seems to want to stay in Mexico City while his wife wants to go to her family in Michoacán where the job opportunities are better. She tells him that if he doesn't want to go, she will be going anyway with the kids.

Julieta sees the video about Amanda on the social networks. Julieta calls Amanda to ask her if what Nico is saying about her is true. Amanda admits that it is but now she has to go on with hernlife. Julieta is concerned about her and has Angeles take her to see her.
Julieta seems ro have real affection for Amanda. The uncles tease Angeles about being jealous.

Julieta seems to be her new and improved self with everyone except with her mother Manuela.

Leandro is still sending Julieta texts trying to get her back on the daddy dearest line. He tells Pirineo that he is giving Lorena permission to take the kids out of the country on vacation. As for Nico, he has a plan to take care of him after his Amanda expose but still has to work on it.

VENCER Page two

Yaneli gets texts from two other girls who were sexually harassed by Edgardo.

Walter and Franco meet for a coffee and agree that given different circumstances they probably would be friends.

Franco keeps coughing and isn't looking too good. (they are also playing creepy music)

Enrique and Amanda meet and kiss.

Manuela, Paloma, Amanda and Yaneli meet. They talk about Dulce. Manuela says the doctor told her that Dulce was transgender. The letter was directed to Damián who was the person that she no longer was. She was saying goodbye to her "dead name."

"Damián." Amanda has no idea about people who are transgender and the others explain it all to her. Amanda doesn't know if she could ever accept a transgender person. Manuela says that one does not have to accept anyone, but one has to respect everyone. Paloma thinks they need to find out who beat Dulce and caused her so much damage. Outside, the man in the black hoodie is standing. We only sees his eyes.

Manuela is at the hospital. The staff at the Atenea Center have all agreed to keep watch over and be with Dulce at the hospital around the clock. Manuela gets a phone call. It is from the hoodied figure. He tells her that she really doesn't get it. If she is having problems, it is because she is defending women, right? The phone call is cut short because Dulce is convulsing in her bed. The medical staff rushes to her room. She is in shock.

That is it for me tonight.

Vencer #52

Gracias, Jarifa.

Was it three years or five years since Damian was kicked out? Now, I'm confused.

I wanted to kick Carmina all the way down to Chiapas for how she is behaving in this situation. When is she going to get it through tiny pea brain that nothing will get Pablo to go back to her?

If Leandro has it in for Nico I'm behind him for it.

This is sounding like the hooded creep will be putting Manuela in danger for Pablo to come to the rescue in the finale.

We lost three episodes' worth during the daily doubles, so this will have a total of 77 episodes.

MINAS #92 Part 1

A lot of circling the drain tonight; few revelations and little forward progress.

Victoria and Joaquina continue their conversation, round and round they go. Joaquina’s lips quiver as she admits Roberta is an assassin but puts up her hands defensively to fend off Victoria’s questions. Joaquina admits Roberta has made many mistakes and committed many sins. She continues to make excuses.

We are back in the garden with Leo and family who have just learned Romina is not Leo’s. Nico asks if it is true. Sara leaves and Leo hoists Romina in his arms as Nico puts his head on him. I am your father Leo reassures her; he puts a comforting arm around Nico.

Ramiro is now home staring in horror at Roberta’s wild kingdom offerings of a tarantula and snake. He holds out his arm to protect his children, shooing them out of the room as his wife recoils in horror. He receives a threatening message from Roberta.

Joaquina is still nattering on, saying Roberta is Nico’s grandmother. More excuses. Victoria looks frustrated as am I. I don’t believe anything new was gleaned, please correct me if I am wrong.

Roberta indulges in a mini meltdown. She lovingly fingers a picture of Mauricio and then notices his sweater draped on the couch. She walks over and picks it up, inhaling his still lingering scent. She then flashes back, standing next to him, dead on a slab in the coroner’s office. She spits out Emilia’s name, vowing vengeance. In the present, she murmurs “Forgive me hijo, forgive me mi amor” as she kneels clutching his sweater.

The next morning, Leo and children are gathered round the table. Inez takes the children away as Sara arrives, giving Romina a kiss (nice touch but too late I sneer). She takes a few pills and grabs Leo’s hands, seemingly oh so contrite. Ok he says staring.

Roberta has the loan application ready for Marijo to sign. Roberta, seemingly unaware of Marijo’s non-acquiescence, natters on about dinero as Marijo seems to gather her strength about her, pushing the file across to Roberta saying she wont’s sign. In a lightening quick manner, Roberta’s bony hand grabs Marijo’s, hurting her. For a second, an upset Marijo holds up a fist and Roberta taunts her to go ahead, hit her!

The fab four (Victoria, Danilo, Sebas and Aleida) convene but their meeting is anything but fabulous. They bicker as Aleida tries to keep the peace. Victoria seems to lose her patience, and leaves.

The stage is being set for the candidates’ discussion/debate. Gigi is greeted by Manuelito as Fatima makes her displeasure known loudly and clearly, calling her immoral. Gigi gives a speech, introducing Zaira. We see Sara’s table; she is flanked by Roberta, Fidel and Addled.

Diana

MINAS #92 Part 2 of 3

Sara introduces Fidel and Roberta who gets up amid enthusiastic cheers as Zaira rolls her eyes. Roberta talks about family as Addled (the biggest hypocrite in the room) stands and cheers until Fidel pulls him down. Sara has the grace to look uncomfortable. Chants of “Sara” fill the air.

Joaquina is reading from a book when Cayetana comes in (can anyone provide the name of the book?) Well, at least we have an answer to where Cayetana is staying Liz!

Zaira, (looking lovely in purple) smiles as Marat comes over and introduces himself. He is clearly enchanted.

Addled opens a side door and Victoria come in and takes the mic. Gigi looks shocked and awed, and not in a positive way. Addled starts a “Victoria” chant. Family is first Victoria starts. Gigi is clearly angry and stands up, calling her a traitor. Addled jumps in as does Leo, telling him to respect his wife.

Marijo panics when it appears the line of credit has been approved without her signature.

Roberta threatens Victoria who strolls off undisturbed. Rob urges Sara to get a grip.

Victoria tries to make an overture to Gigi, who clearly rebuffs her. Victoria goes right to Marat; she is delighted to see him. Leo watches looking concerned as Sara walks up to him and then leaves.

Sebas tries to talk some sense into Tigre about Zaira.

Marat is talking about Zaira to Victoria, enchanted. Victoria explains all the problems in the mine. His support is unconditional.

Leo cries on Orlando’s broad and very strong shoulders regarding his marital problems, Fidel and Roberta. The list is endless.

Diana

MINAS #92 Part 3 of 3

A sad and vulnerable Jenny tries to talk to her sister but selfish Sara can only focus on herself and her latest crisis regarding Romina.

Fidel and Roberta toast her for falsifying the mine loan application.

Marijo frets to Gael who tries to calm her with assurances of her bravery saying she just like her father; he brings her in for a kiss.

Victoria tells her associations Marat is here. Sebas brings her up to speed on the forged document.

Joaquina is in confession, but I’m not sure if she is confessing her sins or Roberta’s 😊

Sara is still talking with Jenny, now complaining about Victoria. Leo comes in and overhears. If someone could kindly add what that was, I’d be most appreciative.

Fidel and Roberta share more cringeworthy kisses while planning more chaos. Later, Joaquina comes in and accuses Roberta of manipulating Marijo. Ya think??

Dan is doing his magic trying to unearth whether there was embezzlement and shockingly (not) there is. Everyone waits expectantly to see where the money was diverted, expecting it to have gone to Roberta’s account. But nopis. The name on the account? Leonardo Santamaria.

Diana

VENCER

Jarifa, you continually put the bar higher in each successive recap. This was just marvelous.

Sometimes it is a blessing not to understand everything. ”In the hospital room, Carmina tells Pablo that unnatural thing, that aberration in the bed is Damián” and “Her last bit of advice to Pablo is that it is time to consider Damián dead no matter what the results of the DNA test are” are but two examples. Carmina is even crueler and vicious than I initially realized.

I’ve been ranting about and am not on team Pablo either. The truth is he abandoned a child, his own flesh and blood.
He will need to undergo a miraculous transformation in order to change my mind. He is in complete denial at the moment and seemingly in shock. However, to even begin to move forward, he must remove himself from Carmina’s vile presence and poisonous tongue.

“Julieta seems to be her new and improved self with everyone except with her mother Manuela” was perfect. She does seem to love Amanda and I am buoyed by the fact she is capable of kindness. When she wants to.

Genaro’s rage did indeed occur when Dulce told him she was transgender. While his reaction was inexcusable, Dulce is indeed alive, if not well. If she survives, shouldn’t he be released from jail? (I believe you asked the same question today Liz).

There must be a reason Victor became part of the storyline. Hopefully it will become clear as so far, he’s just been an annoyance and added nothing.

The eyes of the hooded figure did not match any character we’ve seen thus far (as far as I could tell). I have a feeling things are going to turn dark, and quickly.

Diana

Vencer

Thanks Jarifa, that was great. I know you’re happy it was only one episode but when I realized the show was ending I was disappointed! Have to wait until tonight for things I thought would be answered in the second hour.

I was so mad at Carmina, she was awful. And isn’t Dulce/Damian her sister’s son. And the son of the man she supposedly loves. No wonder Damian disappeared. And now she’s saying Manuela knew. Pablo needs to get far away from his ex. She’s poison. Hopefully if it comes out how she used Pablito and risked his health she won’t have a change for custody. And hopefully Pablo will accept Dulce.

I’m worried about Franco. He seemed really bad. I hope that’s not how Paloma will choose her partner! How would Walter feel if he won the girl because he was alive!

Nico was really stupid posting that video. I’m sure Leandro didn’t want the whole world to know he was not his father’s son! I hope he has a good plan ready soon!

The wheels of justice move slowly. Maybe Dulce will have to tell them it wasn’t Genaro who hurt her. But it obviously wasn’t. And when Genaro is out hopefully brother Vic and family will have to leave.

Liz

VENCER

I wish they had 6:00 p.m. CST novelas all the time. This time slot is wonderful for recapping.

Urban, I thought it was five years but it doesn't really matter. Pablo's child is now an adult and a 15 year old boy can look very different at 20 or even 18. I hope the DNA results come soon and we don't have to wait episodes for the results. "I wanted to kick Carmina all the way down to Chiapas for how she is behaving in this situation. " Thanks for the laugh this morning. Carmina is so despicable and poor Pablito is still stuck with her and likely to be suffering from her medical mistreatment of him very soon if not already.

Diana, thanks. As for Pablo throwing out a vulnerable kid, as they would say in telenovelalandia, his action "no tiene perdón de Dios." (unforgiveable) He will never be able to do enough for me to really like the character. As for Vic, I did not like him from day one. Why does he think he has any right to dictate anything to Yaneli? I am glad she is smart enough to brush him off. What was the hoodied figure trying to tell Manuela? Does it have something to do with the criminal element wanting Genaro to take the fall for Dulce's disappearance?

VENCER

Liz, thanks. The novela is ending but we still have a little over 5 weeks to go. ; ) "I’m worried about Franco. He seemed really bad. I hope that’s not how Paloma will choose her partner! How would Walter feel if he won the girl because he was alive!" Exactly. They need to deal with the Franco health issue ASAP. They have made their point already that he is sick: is it the flu, bronchitis or something worse? If we have to listen to more of his coughing, it will only be annoying. IMHO, they need to cure him or kill him off. "Nico was really stupid posting that video. I’m sure Leandro didn’t want the whole world to know he was not his father’s son! I hope he has a good plan ready soon!" I do not think that Nico was smart enough to realize that he wasn't just hurting Amanda's image but also Leandro's.

Minas

Diana, thank you for another spectacular recap as everyone marches in place . ho...hum...Maybe they are doing the hokey pokey. Back and forth. In and out. Shake it all about. On and on we drone.

I am confused about this new guy...Marat. He seems to be Em\Vicky's good buddy , but he has been smitten when he first lays eyes on Zaire. I saw his photo online ..A silver fox.

May\Dec romance continues to blossom as Gigi Cougar and her Manuelito appear . Did Victoria speak to support Gigi?

Where are we going ? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we.....????? Susan

MINAS

Susan, thank you for your kind words; I so appreciate them!

Marat is Victoria's associate from Spain. I fear he is spinning his wheels with Zaira. I had rather hoped he might be attracted to Aleida but in thinking it over, think her primary and only mission in life is to reconcile with Orlando.

Victoria did not speak up to support Gigi. I thought she was very uncomfortable in being there and tried quietly to talk with Gigi, who wasn't having it.

"Hokey pokey" is right! Dancing around, aimlessly and pointlessly at times!

Diana

Minas

Diana, I appreciate you and Weirdo faithfully recapping this show because I still have not been able to watch except for finding some photos and videos online . I am anxious to see how the writers wrap things up after dragging these storylines out much too long .

I love the idea of Marat falling for Al, if I can't have December Al and May Dan together . Maybe writers are restricted to on!y one May\December pairing per show , and we got that with Gigi and Manue!ito.

I thought Victoria was going to support Gigi's campaign . What happened ? Susan

Minas

Thanks, Diana, great recap. I felt so sorry for Gigi when Victoria seemed to be the traitor. Not sure what Victoria said but seemed to be mostly about family. So maybe it helped Gigi as Leonardo had to tell Addled to respect his wife.

I hate to think this, but I think our team is in way over their head. Roberta is always steps ahead of them.

I think Leonardo heard Sara saying he was drunk that night so he might now know she always knew the baby couldn’t be his.

Now they all believe Leonardo has taken the money. I hope Victoria confronts him!

Marat is really good looking. But I guess Zaria will end up with El Tigre.

I get madder and madder at Joaquina with each episode! Now Roberta is threatening Ramiro’s family. I feel like Joaquina is allowing Roberta to kill because she won’t speak up.

Liz

MINAS

Susan, I am so glad you have stayed faithfully with us despite not being able to watch.

I had thought of Danilo and Aleida as a couple, but Aleida deserves to be the love of someone's life, not second choice!

You are right in that Victoria did promise to help Gigi, but it appears the offer has been rescinded.

Marat reminds me of Rene Casados, ahhh, Padre Tadeo...

Joaquina's loyalty at this point is inexplicable and more than unacceptable. Basta!!

Diana

MINAS

Thanks so much Liz!

"I hate to think this, but I think our team is in way over their head. Roberta is always steps ahead of them". Of course you are totally right! I think the crux of the matter is that they never seemed to have a coherent plan. Or any plan, if I'm being honest. How frustrating!

Thank you for explaining Sara's incoherent dialogue. When is Leo going to wash his hands of her???

At this point, I think Joaquina needs a good shaking. The canary needs to sing; loudly and clearly!!

Diana

O/T

So the weather here has been crazy.

We were supposed to have rain today and are having an unexpected blizzard. The snow is coming down fast and furious; we must have at least 4-5 inches with it showing no signs of abating. One car already spun out on the road. Dangerous conditions.

Stay warm and safe everyone!!

Diana

O/T

I spoke too soon! It's now turned to rain, my biggest fear. I don't like snow but am deathly afriad of ice. ☹

Diana

"MINAS" EPISODE#92:

Diana: Howdy from the Alamo City. It's freaking cold down here & I'm hoping you're staying safe with this cold weather.

More nagging the Fearsome Foursome (Emilia, Adelia, Danillo & Sebastian) over the usual stuff.

Liz: Joaquina needs a good ole fashioned shaking!

SpanProf: When wilk Addled & Co., get their Karma with 15 episodes left before the Good Guys FINALLY emerge victorious.

Darcy: Crazy Whacky Blonde Sara needs some kind of Karma.

Weirdo: Sooner or later Psycho Roberta will be going down!

MINAS

Thank you for your good wishes Steve.

The drama continues, something has to give sooner or later!

Diana

Minas
Thanks so much, Diana.
It was funny how Sara went on and on about how it's all Victoria's fault and Jen is like 'did you tell him you always knew Romina isn't his'. Sara is like 'no, and I didn't tell him he was drunk that night and we didn't have sex'. So she hasn't lost her mind and remembers things and still it'sVictoria's fault. She even said 'but Leonardo knows I felt lonely and he was with la minera'. She and Roberta seem to have a similar 'excuse switch'. They turn it on and nonsense comes out.
Victoria's speech was kind of a dig at the party because she talked about how they can't promisegood things when in their own families they lie and pretend and so on. The problem is that this kind of message is lost on the people of San Lorenzo because they cheer whenever they are told to. And bring pitchforks when someone tells them whom tokill. A target is all they need.
Joaquina said she fell in love with the only man Roberta ever loved. So this is apparently her fault too.
Victoria said Leonardo wouldn't hurt an innocent person when they were talking about how Danilo messed things up for them. Then both Sebas and Dan were like 'oh saint Leonardo. Let's make him the patron saint of the town.' Sebas correctly asks Emilia what has Leonardo done to help her. Emilia has no arguments really and says 'it was not all pain'. Sebas asks ' What has he/his love given you'. I just mention this because I never thought the writers would put this in. They are aware howuseless Leo is? But if he is Roberta's victim here, I imagine this is going to be his main 'advantage' because Victoria now will do something he never did:help him. And that's our story of a great love. But that scene was weird, given that they are determined to have him with Victoria by the end.Poor Leonardo, beaten and deceived by everyone.
I didn't catch the name of the book Joaquina was reading, but it was about some mixture that can paralyse a person or stop their heart, depending on the amount of drops you put in.
Victoria promised to support Sara's campaign in exchange for Joaquina's freedom. Fidel was the one who offered it.

OT

Diana, take care. The weather is so unpredictable these days.

O/T

Thanks so much Jarifa!

Minas

Water lily , thank you for those details.

If I remember correctly, Jo was in love with Ignacio , but then Rob married him , and Jo still stayed in the house . Did Jo bunnyhop with Ig one magic moment and get one moment of bliss ? Is Leonardo the result ? Leonardo would be overjoyed to know that Ig is his father.

I remember Jo finding the letter Ig wrote in a book , and she put it back on the shelf . What happened to that book?

Good for Sebas and Dan speaking truth to Em about lackadaisical Leo who sighs and stares off into the mystic but is never proactive. yawn He makes me think of a line from a poem that I read in a college literature class : " He also serves who only stands and waits." Maybe Leo read that poem. Do something already , Leo. Susan

MINAS

Oh Waterlily, your contributions were gold. So kind of you to provide so much important information; it is so appreciated!

"The problem is that this kind of message is lost on the people of San Lorenzo because they cheer whenever they are told to. And bring pitchforks when someone tells them whom to kill" was but one example. The vision in my head has me smiling away.

Thank you for clarifying Sara and Jenny's conversation. So now Leo knows nothing happened that night. So will he finally lose his granite countenance and get angry at being so deceived or will he continue to mope and do nothing.

So, Roberta actually loved someone??? I can't wait to find out his identity.

I can't blame Sebas and Danilo for disparaging Leo (although their respective jealousies are likely their fueling factor). Yes, what has Leo done for you lately, Vic? Or for that matter, EVER??

I appreciate your explaining what the book contained that Jo was looking at. So is it something she has used for some past deed or a future one?? It's too much to hope it would be a poisonous potion for Roberta as Jo defends her at every turn and would certainly never consider killing her.

Waterlily, thank you, thank you!

Diana

VIDA a/k/a Tu Vida Es Mi Vida

Hola fellow Caray patio peeps. Diana told me that this was scheduled to begin last night, and I recorded and watched. It looks promising, especially with such a good cast. Did anyone else watch? I enjoyed this first episode.

We are up to a balmy 16°F here today after a low of 10° lastnight and got 7" of snow yesterday. Caray!Caray! Single digit low tonight, and this southern fried chick is freezing.

Vida

Hi, Doris. I didn't watch , but I was checking photos out online . I like Susana Gonzalez . I haven't seen Valentin Lanus in years . I didn't even recognize him with the manbun . I was hoping Juan Solar was the galan . What do you think of it after watching the first episode ?

It is snowing where I am, too. Winter ...bah. Susan

Minas #92

Gracias, Diana y Waterlily.

Leo now knows of Sara's deception. He can use that against her but my gut is saying he won't need to. I don't think Sara will survive this tale.

I think Roberta moved the money into Leo's account to use that against him. Kudos to Marijo for her chutzpah.

While it would be interesting if Ignacio turned out to be Leo's bio-dad, how would Roberta's previous husband have thought himself to be that? The only way that could have happened would be if Roberta had been pregnant at the same time and the babies were switched for whatever reason. Leo saw his father die; he wasn't a toddler who would not remember this. However, we have only 15 episodes left: the 2-hour finale aired last night in Mexico.

Ramiro has been a bad dude but his family does not deserve those "mascotas."

Addled in a bolo tie? I don't think he owns a ranch. No plaid this time either for him or Fidel.

Joaquina confessed to having killed a man in self-defense.

The book refers to the poison Roberta used to kill Ignacio.

Vida, Estreno

I watched. Juan Soler is playing Susana Gonzales' father and he is only 7 years older than she is. Looks good on him, though.

WTH is it lately with all the bad hair? The manbun looks ridiculous. So do the bad wigs on Livia Brito and Valeria Burgos (Minas) and Gabriel dela Garza (Vencer). Also the stupid bangs on Romina Poza (Vencer). I hope they all got combat pay for that.

Vida

I watched. I’m a fan of Susana Gonzalez. I’m pretty sure her real hubby played her husband in this. In just one flashback scene. She’s a widow. It was hard to tell what happened to him! (her husband). But I already have someone I’m suspicious of.

I figure my two shows are both ending in a few weeks, so I’ll either watch or record this one.

Liz

MINAS

Thank you Urban!

I can't see Joaquina as a cold blooded murderer so thank you for explaining it was in self defense.

I wonder why Joaquina was looking up the poison. Unless she had some miraculous unseen revealation, she would never turn Roberta in. Right??

Good catch on the fact neither Addled nor Fidel wore their signature plaid last night.

I'm thinking there are two people who might not survive, Sara is one of them.

Diana
The book refers to the poison Roberta used to kill Ignacio.

Vencer

Jarifa, bravo for making this all so clear! At first the TN was moving too slow but now it's moving too fast. Thanks for keeping me up to speed.

Julieta has grown up a bit, now it's Pablo's time to grow up. He's had several years regretting that he didn't help, and in fact hurt, his son when he was troubled. Instead of listening to Carmina, he should've been getting knowledge on sex and difference so he'd be ready if he were fortunate enough for Damian to return.

I'm no expert, but I know transgender kids are more vulnerable to violence and suicide.

Nico is so stupid. Leandro will squash him.

VIDA

Hi doris! So good to see your post. You've been missed!

I thought that several had expressed interest in recapping this but not seeing anything posted, am not sure.

I watched Vida and have to say Juan Soler looked amazing! Love the Grizzly Adams look on him. He has a twinkle in his eye.

I will say Valentino Lanus needs to lose that manbun immediately. Susana is luminous as always.

Susana has been give a fatal diagnosis by her physician. She packs up her three children, buys a food truck and hits the road. She ends up at Valentino's whose life is in complete chaos to say the least. There are several intriguing plotlines including what happened to Susana's husband (played by her RL hubby as you noted Liz). Were there undercurrents of a past between Juan and Valentino's mother?? There was much that eluded me but this shouldn't spoil anything if there is a forthcoming recap.

Lots to ponder.

Diana

Vencer

I just found out that Dulce is being played by the daughter of Jesus Ochoa , who was in the last Vencer . Susan

VENCER

Niecie, glad my notes are helping out. "At first the TN was moving too slow but now it's moving too fast." I totally agree. I think that has been my major criticism of this novela. The pacing has seemed off to me. "Julieta has grown up a bit, now it's Pablo's time to grow up."
You can say that again and again.

VIDA

Liz - there is a scene where Paula's FIL (father in law) a/k/a Lisardo walks up to the patio in a scuba suit and says Paula's hubby (his own son) drowned.

"Grizzy Adams" --- LOL! Diana That is a look I hope I will get used to. Soler is quite guapo to my eyes.

Susan - I am optimistic with this and will continue to watch as long as it stays at one-hour episodes. It doesn't look too 'dark' for me. Before the episode ended, I was thinking about printing out some Telenovela Bingo cards. Alas, it looks like that website has gone away. Good thing I saved some to my hard drive.

If VIDA goes to 2-hr broadcasts, I'm out. Not enough time to watch, what with NHL hockey games to watch and other priorities.

VIDA

Doris, I thought Lisardo was Paula's boyfriend so thank you for noting he was her FIL. That's why recaps are so helpful...

I don't see any reason why this should go to two hours but Uni's programming has always confounded me.

Diana

Vida

Thanks, Doris. I thought Lisardo was one of the kid’s Godfather, thought I heard Madrino. I guess he could be both. But that does away with my prime suspect! I saw that hubby had drowned, they briefly showed his face underwater, but it looked like he was in a barrel. I played it back to look at it again! It was just a quick shot.

So far I like this. Looks like it might be a fun show!

VENCER LA CULPA #53 Part one

This was a very disjointed episode. My disjointed observations follow.

Dulce goes from being at death's door to surviving.

Pablo is still unable to get his head around Dulce being Damián. An angry Pablo asks Manuela why she didn't tell him that Dulce was Damián. She says at first she wasn't sure but then Genaro put it all together for them and identified Dulce. Then there was that tip that they followed up on at the apartment where a woman saw a boy coming and going and also a girl. Finally, she knew how he felt about his son being a homosexual, so how would he feel abut him being transgender? Pablo is upset that she didn't share the info with him as they had agreed. He tells the doctor he wants a DNA test with the patient and him. He cannot understand why his son would want to be a woman. Why did he do it? Just my take but he made it seem so disgusting wanting to be a woman.

Leandro and Carmina meet to catch up. He thinks he has a plan to stop Manuela's work as the "untiring defender of women and lost causes". Carmina doesn't think that is necessary anymore. What tied Pablo to Mexico City was looking for his long lost son and he has turned up. She tells him that Damián popped up as Dulce. Leandro thinks that must be tough for Pablo. She adds how Manuela is into all of these new-fangled ideas about transgender people that she is sure that Pablo has never heard about in his life. He asks if anyone knows what happened to her? him? Carmina says no because he/ she is unconscious. She has a good guess though. Surely she was beaten up for going around like a little woman. She thinks that she was asking for it. Leandro agrees. Carmina thinks she will never say anything because she will probably be dead before they know it.

Vic's wife tells him she is taking the kids and going home to Michoacán. She is sick of him being a good for nothing. He tells Yaneli it is all his fault. I hope he ends up going with her.

Carmina is unrelenting with her verbal assaults on Dulce to Pablo. She refuses to back down. Nancy tells her she better be able to explain the Norma Pardo story she made up. Carmina ends up getting in to see Dulce. It looks like she is the first person Dulce sees when she finally opens her eyes. That scene was creepy!

Amanda cannot quite understand exactly what a transgender person is. Manuela explains the difference between sexual attraction (who you are attracted to) and sexual identity(who you feel that you are).

Paloma touches base with her parents who are doing very well with their tamal stand.

Julieta feels like she needs to respond to her father's texts. She sends him a text hoping he is doing well and sends him a hug.

Julieta tells Chiro that she knows exactly what to do to get that Kpop body. He tells his Korean princess that he wants to see that little body. He thanks her for being his girl . She tells him he's a 10 out of 10 because he always knows how to make her happier. he says he knows how to treat her not like her father who only used her to attract her mother. He didn't;t want her. he only wanted his relationship with her mother back again. Julieta ask how does he know about he family. We now hear Cross real voice. it is the voice of a grown man, the man in the hoodie. He says he is only giving her opinion based on what she tells him.

Julieta runs into Nacho's voluptuous novia Desiree (what else would her name be?) She says that she can help her get more curves but her tips are going to cost $$$.

VENCER Part two

Walter makes sure that Franco gets to the hospital. It turns out that he is ill because he has not been taking his anti-viral meds consistently. Walter call Paloma to let her know. She comes to the hospital and yells at Franco for not taking his meds. The medical staff needs to have him give them an emergency contact. His parents? His partner? Paloma volunteers saying she will because she is his partner. That is what she was going to tell him the other day. It has always been him. They kiss and they play their "theme" that sounds like a movie theme from the '60's, '70's?

We see how Manuela was sexually assaulted as a teenager by a guy called Rosendo. She tells Angeles she is worried that maybe he is the one who attacked Dulce. Her mother reminds her that he is in jail. Manuela gets on her computer and accesses the prison system in Matamoros only to find out that her perpetrator was released a little over a year ago which was earlier than was expected.

That is it for me tonight.

Sorry for the typos. I thought I got them all but I didn’t. :(

MINAS #93 Part 1

Finally, a bit of plot percolation…

Danilo tracked down the embezzled money and where was it hiding? Not in Roberta’s account but in Leo’s!. Victoria refuses to believe Leo is guilty as Sebas stares and Danilo shakes his head in utter frustration.

Sara is spilling all of her tea to Jenny as Leo listens outside the door. He bursts in and Sara ask Jenny to leave them alone. He is (mildly) angry about all of Sara’s lies regarding their marriage and Romina. Still, somehow, Sara manages to deflect every accusation Leo hurls at her. What is her defense? To our utter dismay and disgust, she tries to blame everything on Emilia who murdered Mauricio. Leo emotes, defending Emilia’s character and her honor.

Roberta and Joaquina go round the mulberry bush yet again. Joaquina tells Roberta she is a good woman (I’m really starting not to like Joaquina); Roberta reciprocates by trash talking. Roberta bares her fangs and talks about the murder of her father. After all these decades, Joaquina can’t understand why Roberta doesn’t love Leo.

Gael comforts a still shaken Marijo, telling her he loves her. He tells her he is going to break up with Cayetana and seals it with a kiss. Said Cayetana is happily talking with her mother who needs money for medical care (for her mother I think).

The specter of Leo hangs heavily on the Fab (and unhappy) Four, Victoria still defending his innocence.

Leo actually yells at Sara and their fighting descends into a screaming fest. You are sick he says. Sara sits down and starts crying and clutching her chest, cries out that something is terribly wrong. You can say that again sister. Is she faking? Leo may not be sure, but I sure as hell am.

Gigi has a shot of courage as Addled arrives to berate her. She confronts him about Fatima and Victoria’s betrayals. He calls her loca (both mother and daughter have been diagnosed with the same ailment tonight, verdad?) Their talk then takes a somber turn as she tells him Jenny lost her baby. For a moment, he does seem genuinely upset. I believe he wants her to suspend her campaign and she answers by hitting him with her pocketbook.

As Zaira finishes speaking with one of Gigi’s supporters, Marat appears. She thinks he is here for Victoria but no, he is here for her, inviting her for coffee and conversation.

Leo capitulated and brought Sara to the hospital, carrying her into a room. She is furiously hyperventilating as they continue to argue about their marriage and Romina.

Addled is at the bar drinking when Sebas comes in. Flor goes to wait on him but Addled intervenes. They get into an argument about Andres, whom Sebas declares is HIS hijo!! When Orlando tries to intervene, I think Sebas says something about drugs being traded there but leaves as Addled berates and insults him.

MINAS #93 Part 2 of 3

Gael and hardheaded Tigre have a talk. Gael tells his father he loves him. Tigre cries again. He asks his son to help Zaira to find a good man, one who will protect her. Buddy, be careful what you wish for; that might be happening faster than you think!

A creepy guy shows up at Miriam’s but she shuts and bolts the door in his face, threatening to call the police. Andres is there and upset. She tells him it’s all right and to sit down but looks worried.

Over some sort of sugary confections, Marat and Zaira have that always awkward first date talk. Marat has a daughter who lives in the U.S. and Zaira says something about being married.

Leo and Romina are home as Victoria arrives, bearing gifts.

Sebas is at Miriam’s who asks him not to do anything; she doesn’t want to cause any trouble. Andres, who is an adorable child calls him “papa”.

Sara’s nurse declares her blood pressure is “perfect” as she hands the chart to the doctor. Leo looks angrier by the second. The doctor tries to be solicitous of Sara but Leo doesn’t buy it and accuses him of conspiring with Sara, threatening to sue him for fraud.

Victoria and the kids are having a great time; all smiling as she hugs them. Uh oh. Roberta and her nasty beyotch resting face come in to ruin the party.

Zaira tries to clarify her situation saying she is getting divorced but Marat makes the point, repeating “you are married”. Zaira tries again to explain saying “Tigre my ex marido” but she needn’t have bothered. He isn’t the least bit deterred. As he takes her hand, her phone rings; she is saved by the bell. It’s Joaquina. Are you all right Zaira asks? No, there is a serious problem. Zaira explains she has to leave. He offers to go with her but she declines. He smiles after her.

Nico tells Roberta his father gave him permission to see Victoria. I believe she makes several veiled threats including threatening to reveal exactly who Victoria is. Sensing the tension, Victoria makes a hasty retreat. Roberta glares at Nico and Romina shaking her head ominously.

Diana

MINAS #93 Part 3 of 3

Leo is finally showing some long overdue genuine emotion, angrily accusing the doctor of being Sara’s accomplice. He turns to Sara and calls her a “mentirosa actriz”. The doctor acts mortally wounded telling Leo he has no compassion. Leo only wants the doctor to confess. Sara starts pouring it on, acting as though she is dying but the second Leo leaves, she starts screaming at the doctor to leave her alone. Right then and there, Leo dumped and left Sara right in the middle of her medical “crisis”. A slight collective cheer from viewerville arises!

Tigre joins Sebas who is crying in his tequila. He tells Tigre what has transpired regarding Leo and worries that Victoria loves him.

Outside, Victoria texts Nico asking if he is all right. He confirms he is.

Victoria, fully alarmed at what transpired, calls Leo and says he needs to go there now.

Poor Romia tries to get Roberta to play with her doll but she thrusts it back at her.

Sebas calls Victoria but she brushes him off, he looks crestfallen.

Zaira arrives at Joaquina’s and feels her forehead looking for a fever, are you ill she asks? No.

Danilo is with Aleida. He calls Sebas and asks where Victoria is and is told she is at Leo’s. Unfortunately, with impeccable bad timing, Fidel slithers over and joins them at their table. Aleida’s face immediately reflects her panic.

When Victoria texts Nico for the second time, Roberta demands to look at his phone, calling him Mauricio! I’m not Mauricio Nico declares looking a bit frightened. At that, Roberta stands, drawing her hand back, high in the air appearing ready to strike him. Inez appears at that moment, looking very concerned. At that moment, Leo shows up, standing very close to Victoria, hand on her shoulder. Next we see Sebas scurrying down the hill in the background just as Sara rushes up accusing Leo of abandoning her at the hospital!!

VENCER

Jarifa, your wordsmithing is extraordinary. “Dulce goes from being at death's door to surviving” was succinct but perfectly stated.

“Julieta runs into Nacho's voluptuous novia Desiree (what else would her name be?)” had me smiling away and was a bit of fresh air among tonight’s angst and drama.

Carmina’s cruelty continues unabated. To confront Dulce in such a fragile state was unconscionable. Her maliciousness is especially heinous as the brunt of her callousness is a child. She is no less a villain than Leandro.

Pablo has had a shock but it’s time to process what has occurred and to move forward from a position of love and acceptance. The truth is that from what we’ve seen it’s impossible that will occur any time soon. I’m also wondering, will Dulce want to see him? I’m thinking no and that was before Carmina’s intercession.

“Surely she was beaten up for going around like a little woman. She thinks that she was asking for it. Leandro agrees”. Bottom feeders always seek each other out, don’t they?

Whatever did Leandro have in mind to stop Manuela??

Chiro’s plans are ramping up quickly. Julieta is pretty intuitive and it’s alarming she has accepted Chiro’s every word and deed as gospel. Her spidey sense should be tingling as soon as he talked about her father using her to lure back Manuela. Opinion? There is no way he would be aware of that unless…

Poor Manuela wrestling with her own real-life demons. How terrible; it appears her past is catching up with her; this looks ominous.

Paloma chooses Walter. Not a shock.

"MINAS" EPISODE#93:

Diana: 14 episodes left before the Good Guys FINALLY emerge victorious. Once again, Joaquina is more stupider & incompetent!

Psycho Roberta & Crazy Whacky Blonde Sara always blaming Emilia with the annoying Blah-Blah-Blah.

Who are Marijo's parents again ?

Minas
Thanks so much, Diana. A great job as always. 'coffee and conversation' is a phrase I might steal for future use. Is there some saying about going round a mulberry bush? I'm a fan of sayings and quotes!
It appears Cayetana's mother might have cancer because she found a lump in one of her breasts and the doctor wants her to do some tests for which she has no money of course. Cayetana says she'll think of something, which I don't like at all. It's the first time I see her genuinely worried about someone else. I thought no force on earth could force her down from that cloud she's on.
I just knew Emilia would defend Leo! I thought maybe I was wrong but nope. Why do they make her believe him immediately when he never offered the same to her?
Sara is in fact crazy if she still thinks she has a right to be mad at Leo and even blame Emilia. She even said she's made many mistakes but she hasn't committed a crime, unlike Emilia. I feel like a saint now because I haven't committed a crime either.
Gigi scolds Addled for not even visitng his other daughter. He had no idea she had a miscarriage and looks shocked for a bit but immediately says he is practical and you 'can'tbring the baby back to life whereas winning the election is their future. Sara must have spent quite a lot of time with her papa because these two show no concerrn for anyone and God help you if you get in their way.
Is Orlando really that naive that he had no idea his father was doing something ellegal there? Otherwise he would have shown no interest in that bar/restaurant. Sebas told him their supposed restaurant business will be over.
Tigre also thinks Leo is innocent. He also tells Sebas he should talk with Emilia amnd again advises him to make her fall in love with him.
I now don't like Emilia all that much either because of how she immediately believes Leo is innocent. This annoyed me for some reason. If Sebas is blinded by jealousy, she most probably believes Leo's innocence partly because she is in love. She just happens to be right. But how Leo didn't see what his mother was doing? Or is this the first time she used his name for an account? This sounds like Gael from invencible again.
Tigre actually bargains with God (do people really do this or is this just a telenovela thing), offering him his own life in exchange for Emilia getting justice. I've never heard of religious people doing this sort of thing, but then again, tigre did say he is not much good at talking to God.
Fidel asks Aleida and Dan about being such frequent visitors at that restaurant and mentions asking this because of the photos Aleida took. Or did Dan take photos too?
A bit OT, but does anyone know a good method to fall back asleep? I'm struggling with this and it's really annoying.

Minas
Another thing I forgot. Joaquina asks Zaira for some drops. She isn't ill, it's to 'stop someone'.

Vencer

Thanks, Jarifa, I enjoyed your “disjointed observations”. These episodes are jam packed with drama.

I’m afraid Carmina is going to scare Dulce and Dulce will leave the hospital. I hope a nurse or someone comes in to prevent Carmina from saying anything hateful. Maybe she and Leandro will end up together. I really can’t think of deserving endings for them.

I like the friendship that formed between Franco and Walter. We all knew she would pick Franco but I was starting to really like Walter.

I wonder if Paloma’s parents are doing well or just saying that to Paloma. I hope they do well and get their house back.

I’m sure Pablo will accept Dulce eventually, but he threw the kid out for being homosexual so I’m not sure how he’ll come around. At least he doesn’t like Carmina’s nasty talk about Dulce.

I wonder if that Chiro is Rosendo. I thought Leandro wanted Julieta and Manuela. I wonder if Chiro is right and he was just using Julieta.

MINAS

Waterlily, thank you for your kind words, I so appreciate them. The dialog and information you provided was superb!

"Here we go round the mulberry bush" is an English nursery rhyme. Words go something like "Here we go round the mulberry bush, the mulberry bush, the mulberry bush, here we go round the mulberry bush so early in the morning"...It reminds me of so much non-action here, in going around and around but not getting anywhere! 😊

I loved your astute summation of what happened with Cayetana “It's the first time I see her genuinely worried about someone else. I thought no force on earth could force her down from that cloud she's on”.

Emilia is far more loyal to Leo than he ever was to her. It appears she has made her choice.

Oh so “Joaquina asks Zaira for some drops. She isn't ill, it's to 'stop someone”'. Dramatic music plays in the background!! But seriously, does she, who mewls defending Roberta at every opportunity have any real intention of harming her?? She can’t admit Roberta’s faults or crimes. She doesn’t have the guts.

“Tigre also thinks Leo is innocent. He also tells Sebas he should talk with Emilia and again advises him to make her fall in love with him”. Yes, Tigre, that will work, eyeroll. Thank you for translating Tigre’s monologue which I couldn’t interpret.

Sara was like the Energizer bunny; she just wouldn’t stop. Basta.

Waterlily, I wish I could offer some remedy to fall back asleep. As much as we need and crave sleep, sometimes it just doesn’t come. I will say a prayer you find that elusive and much needed slumber.

Diana

Minas

Diana, thank you for reporting all the news. Waterlily, thank you for supplying the important details . I collect quotes and maxims . I think " all around the mullberry bush (the monkey chased the weasel , the monkey thought twas all in fun..pop goes the weasel) " is an old nursery rhyme. Another old rhyme that suits this show could be " Ring around the rosy" , an old children's game of holding hands and going around in a circle . ...no forward motion, no progress.

Well, was there a reason this guy was brought in to court Zaire ? I dont get it . And Cay just won't be gone . uff

Orlando was the chief of police , but he remains clueless that drugs are being sold in his restaurant . Really ? The cops I know are pretty observant. I have had to suspend my disbelief a lot for this show.

My one hope is that Sebas gets some kind of HEA . He has been the one steadfast goodness in this tragedy.

Susan , exhausted from going around the mullberry bush with these folks

Minas

Thanks, Diana, enjoyed reading your recap with my breakfast.

Roberta is trying to frame Victoria and Leo. I’m guessing that’s why the account is in his name. Leo has never been a thief so not sure why the three are fed up with Victoria for believing he didn’t take the money.

I would really like to see Zaire with Marat but she and Tigre really love each other so that won’t happen. Maybe he can be with Aleida.

Roberto raising her arm to Nico was awful. I wish Leo had seen it. Although he knows how he was treated by his mother so he should expect that for Nico. But I think Roberta is losing it, calling him Mauricio.

I thought Sara was having a panic attack. I was surprised she was faking it. I hope Leo follows through on his threats to the doctor.

Orlando needs to wake up. He couldn’t be that blind over what’s happening in his own restaurant.

Liz

MINAS

Susan, thank you so much!

I hadn't realized how popular the mulberry bush is! Yes, Pop Goes the Weasel is another popular rhyme.

Both Leo and Orlando are dreamy and in dream land aren't they??

I still think Sebas is going to end up with Miriam, deserved or not. Emilia is a dream that he never fully realized. He must let that illusion go.

Diana

MINAS

Good morning Liz and thank you.

I suspect the main reason for Danilo and Sebas' tirades against Leo are pure jealousy. He "stole" the loves of their lives, Sara and Emilia. Surely they must realize the guilty party is Roberta who hates her son so much she wants to frame and destroy him.

"Orlando needs to wake up. He couldn’t be that blind over what’s happening in his own restaurant". He is incredibly gullible isn't he? Although I must admit, he is so handsome, I totally melt so all is forgiven. 😊

Diana

VENCER

Diana, thanks. This episode was all over the place. "Bottom feeders always seek each other out, don’t they?" The discussions about LGBT people haas been totally disgusting. "Whatever did Leandro have in mind to stop Manuela??" I found that disturbing, too, since it seemed to have something to do with her current job? I wonder what other surprises still await us.

Liz, "I wonder if that Chiro is Rosendo. I thought Leandro wanted Julieta and Manuela. I wonder if Chiro is right and he was just using Julieta." Rosendo looked a lot older when he attacked at engage Manuela and the hoodied figure's eyes look young to me, but who knows with this novela so full of surprises? As for Leandro only using Julieta to ge back Manuela, I think I agree with Chiro. Leandro is a mean man without scruples. "I’m afraid Carmina is going to scare Dulce and Dulce will leave the hospital." That would not surprise me one bit.

Vencer

Jarifa, thank you for bringing us every bit of drama and danger .

Chiro must be somebody who knows exactly what Leondro is up to and wants to hurt him by manipulating Julieta . Who could that be ? Nico?

Why wasn't Genero immediately released from jail since Dulce is alive ? Susan

VENCER

Thanks, Susan. As for Genaro not being already released, the wheels of justice turn slowly . . . the world over! If I remember correctly, there was some character somewhere recently who mentioned that he must be getting out soon but that was about it.

Vencer #53

Gracias, Jarifa, for your relentless dedication and excellence in recapping this.

I was wondering whether Carmina was going to pull the plug on Dulce but realized that this would shortcut her persistent emotional torture of Pablo. She is some piece of work and so far it looks like she and Leandro will be a match made in hell. Her treatment of Dulce was beyond cruel and definitely shows that even a person born to privilege can have seriously destructive prejudices. I have to wonder about her family of origin's dynamics that made her the way she is. We now need to see what her Muchhausen's by Proxy is doing to her son.

We can imagine what she would say about Manuela if/when she finds out that she was a rape victim.

My questions about Dulce's age are about the legality of transgender surgery in minors. That is a major issue among people who are objecting to the imagined grooming of kids to declaring themselves transgender. Thus far nobody has mentioned puberty blockers which -- in view of the declining age of puberty in both sexes -- would be a hot-button issue. We also know that prescription anti-depressants often have the opposite effect on minors because their metabolisms can't process them properly. If Dulce is not yet 18 and had any of the surgeries required for M-F there are doctors out there who should have their licenses revoked.

I think Pablo's reaction is more shock than disgust. I freely admit I find it shocking that a born-male of any age would want to be female when women and girls still don't have equal rights in most of the world and face horrible misogyny in many cultures.

Amanda is making progress as is Paloma. As far as I'm concerned the jury is still out on her parents.

Julieta is becoming more human in her interactions with others but she is being manipulated by someone who is making her harm herself. I also wonder if this is the same monster who raped Manuela.

VENCER

Urban, you are welcome and thanks! "We now need to see what her Muchhausen's by Proxy is doing to her son." Perfect! because that is exactly what it is. What a twisted character as you noted. "I freely admit I find it shocking that a born-male of any age would want to be female when women and girls still don't have equal rights in most of the world and face horrible misogyny in many cultures." Yep, and who are the original authors of all of that misogyny? I will say no more. Yes, Paloma's parents SEEM to be doing better but that is about it for now.

Minas + OT + Vida

Diana and Waterlily, thank you both for painting a clear picture of these episodes in my head!

I had also never heard about the nursery rhyme about the mulberry bush, very interesting!

In circles we go... Less than 15 episodes to go and no action? Give me a break.

I can't believe my favourite couple in La Patrona (and probably my all time favourite telenovela couple), Antonia (yep, then main villain) and Rodrigo Balmaceda, the only non-corrupt cop in the town, isn't included here...

Waterlily, I'm also suffering from sleep deprivation, so I can't help you. I'm hoping we all get some sleep!

Pretty hot here. I'm a bit jealous of all the cold you guys have!

As for Vida, we decided to wait until another novela, like El Amor no Tiene Receta, which has more interest, to recap as standalone pages.

MINAS

Weirdo, thank you!

Interesting tidbit about the couple not included in the current version.

Appreciate the info about future recapping. El Amor no Tiene Recenta looks wonderful (love Daniel).

Vida definitely has my interest but admit that I'm only able to follow a fraction of what is transpiring. I am going to try and watch until I get "lost in the sauce". :)

Diana

OT..Weirdo , I have been keeping up with the progress of " El Amor no Tiene Receta." I think we will like the Daniel Elbittar\ Claudia Martin match up. They seem to have the same pleasant personality and warm smile . I hope I am not disappointed . " Invencible" had me hopeful for a happy ending , but then stung me . We need some happiness and hope from these shows .

I will give " Tu Vida es MI vida" a try since I am a fan of Susana and Juan. Susan

Vencer

Gracias, Jarifa. Love the way you dish it out every night.

Paloma and Franco never got off the ground for me. I wish there'd been more bonding with him helping with finding Dulce. Why in blazes was Franco not taking his meds? Hombre, no excuse.

I can't fathom that Pablo doesn't get the sheer hell Dulce has been going through all alone these years. So since his son is "a freak" it's okay for the parent not to at least try to keep him safe. I'm guessing Manuela and Pablo are end game, but I can't see being happy about it.

VENCER

Niecie, thanks. I agree with your whole first paragraph: "Paloma and Franco never got off the ground for me. I wish there'd been more bonding with him helping with finding Dulce. Why in blazes was Franco not taking his meds? Hombre, no excuse." He still is "meh" to me. Aside from Amanda and Enrique, I do not think there are not any real romances here that deserve attention or any shallow romances between beautiful people that might be fun to watch.

VIDA Capitulo #2

Liz said ---"I saw that hubby had drowned, they briefly showed his face underwater, but it looked like he was in a barrel. I played it back to look at it again! It was just a quick shot."
I went back to that episode and watched again, the scene where Rolo walks up to the veranda in his scuba/wet suit and tells Paula that German drowned. Univision didn't show German's face or any of what you described...at least not in my viewing market. Hmmm.... how strange. Now I wonder what else Looneyvision is cutting.

Also, yesterday I thought Rolo (Lisardo) is Paula's FIL but no, he was German's best friend. Probably a godfather to one of Paula's children. I also suspect Rolo might have had something to do with German's death.

At the end of the second episode, Isabela tells her best friend that she was madly in love with Lorenzo and that there were (ahem) "consequences". Hmmm.... Viewerville is now casting the side eye to Rafa, who is "moving the furniture" (a/k/a knocking boots) with his brother's wife, the skank Malena. He would have to be the firstborn so that Paula and Pepe can be end game.

Minas #93

Thanks, Diana.

Sebas' tirade has to be motivated by jealousy.

Addled is a clear and present danger to Sebas, Miriam, and the child. I don't think he gives a flying damn about that poor boy except as a pawn on his chessboard.

Nothing else to say right now; I have such a bad cold I had to cancel my evening plans.

OT...urban , take care of yourself. This bug latches on and won't let go...cough, congested sinuses . Everyone in this house has been passing it back and forth . I have a friend who has had it for five weeks and another friend who ended up with pneumonia .
Hope you feel better soon. Susan

Vida

Doris, I’m pretty sure his face underwater was in the credits. It looked very strange. But now that he was the hubby’s best friend he goes back to being a suspect.

I thought Rafa looked guilty when Pepe was telling him he left his wife. How great that wife told Rafa she doesn’t love him. Guess it’s pure lust.

I felt so bad for Paula’s dad when she was telling him she’s dying.

It looks like Paula’s partner and friend is going to try to steal the business from her.

Liz

VIDA

Excellent comments all!

Liz, my thought is that the throwback scene from the opening credits you mentioned where German seems to have drowned is related to the comment you made Doris. I believe we also see Rolo in that shot but I might be wrong.

Rolo being German's friend makes sense Doris. I also thought last night Rolo was responsible for his death; I think he did and still does covet Paula.

Doris, thank you for explaining Isabela admitted she loved Lorenzo. It was clear there was tension between them, and that explains it.

Liz, I also felt terrible for Loranzo when Paula told him what was going on. Were they estranged for a while or am I imagining that.

I am recapping three nights a week for Minas which should be ending the first week in February. I hope to be more active on the Vida discussions once that ends.

Diana

MINAS

Urban, I agree Sebas is green with envy right now. He is a passionate person but his rants about Leo are a bit over the top.

I am so sorry you are sick! Please take care, drink plenty of fluids and try to rest.

Diana

VIDA

Well, that will teach me to WATCH the credits at the beginning and the end. I FFWDed thru them and that's how I missed the scene of German floating in the water. Mystery solved. Lesson learned.

From what I gather, Lorenzo has not seen Paula in several years but I don't know why. They seem friendly enough, so who knows?

I agree that Rolo seems to covet Paula. And Natalia covets Rolo. And Lorenzo still wants Isabela.

URBAN - that bad cold that hangs on for weeks with the cough might be RSV. That's the theory of a pediatrician friend of mine. It's been going around down here for months, too. I hope you will feel better soon.

VENCER LA CULPA #54

Not much happened tonight except that Amazon Prime got Prime Placement!

Carmina manages to sneak in and terrorize the now awakened Dulce. She tells her that the biggest favor tat she could do is pass on to a better life. She has killed them with shame. She has placed her father through such an ordeal when he had to see what she has become. She tells her to not contact them. Later Manuela and everyone else realizes that a woman was in the room who was not a part of the Atenea Center vigil group. From a description of the woman, Manuela correctly concludes that it must have been Carmina.

Pablo will do anything he can to deny that the girl in the bed is Damián. He talks to the prosecutor who knows that his situation is difficult but, as far as he is concerned Dulce is Damián based on what Genaro told him. Pablo has all of his hopes set on teh DNA test but the results come back and he is forced to face that Damián is Dulce.

The prosecutor makes it clear to Pablo that Genaro is still not off the hook. Who beat up Dulce? They still need to find that out.

He reluctantly agrees to met Manuela at the hospital the next day to perhaps see his daughter but once he is there he cannot go into her room to see her. Manuela assures him that is fine and she goes into teh room. . The only problem is that Dulce is no longer there and nobody knows if she left or was taken.

Manuela tells her mother how creeped out that she was when she got that phone call . She feels like she has to be particularly vigilant with herself and Julieta. That is why she hopes to do more center work online and spend less time in the office.

Leandro pops by to see Julieta and is not pleased to see that Leandro there. He makes snide comments about he and Manuela having a romance relationship and then makes snarky comments about Pablo's daughter.

Carmina is still making Pablito drink that tea that makes him immediately go and pee.

Manuela pledges her support for Amanda however she needs it.

Tamara has decided to divorce Nico. She has sold the house she inherited but doesn't have another place to go to yet. Amanda invites her and the grandchildren to come live with her. Tamara makes it clear that she still doesn't forgive her for what she did to her father and Leandro, but accepts the invitation and all the emotional support her mother can give her. (GIVE ME A BREAK!)

Vic confides to Yaneli that he is to blame for the state that his family is in. He doesn't know what to do since Betty his wife is taking their daughter to Michoacán. He tries to make nice with Betty by cooking dinner. Betty is not impressed and will not change her mind.

Leandro tells Manuela the same thing that he told Yaneli yesterday. Nobody let him know that Dulce was found and in the hospital. He reminds her that he is representing Dulce's supposed perpetrator. Genaro is his client. It is the least she could have done.

Leandro talks with Julieta and she gets him to give her money for her dance activities at school. Little does he know that he is paying for anything but. Julieta tells Chiro that she is going to get some injections that will help change her body to the way he wants it to be.

Axel and Yaneli continue looking for other girls who were Edgar's victims. The girls seem to have all one thing in common so far being scholarship recipients who came from economically disadvantaged families.

Paloma is back with Franco as long as he is on his anti-viral meds. She wants to talk to Walter and tell him her decision. The plan is to meet Paloma at her place. He is driving to Oaxaca and then decides to come back early. He sends her flowers. Unfortunately for him, he has the bad habit of texting on his phone while driving. He has a crash. Paloma gets a call from a paramedic on Walter's phone that came out better than he did. He tells Paloma that Walter had a very bad crash and probably will not make it.

That is it for me.

VENCER

An(other) superb recap Jarifa.

“Amazon Prime got Prime Placement!” had me smiling away. The camera panned to the Prime box on Paloma’s desk so many times, Paloma smiling in delight at the sight of it. Too funny.

Thankfully, Manuela put two and two together realizing Carmina was Dulce’s unwanted visitor. Wherever has poor Dulce gone? She is in such bad shape.

Leandro is so self-important, insulting, and obvious. He believes he is so clever but obviously not clever enough to realize his daughter is playing him like a fiddle. I like that Pablo didn’t let Leandro “get” to him but of course he has far more important things on his mind.

No matter how nasty, vindictive, and unappreciative Amanda’s children are, she treats them with nothing but love and kindness.

Poor Walter. Paloma was already going to dump him, does he have to die too??

MINAS #94 Part 1

“Leonardo” Sara screams through the air, berating him for leaving her at the hospital. She turns her vitriol on Emilia and as Leo defends her, Sebas rushes up to add to the chaos. Victoria makes it clear she doesn’t have the time or inclination to deal with Sara, ignoring her as she voices concern to Leo about the children being in Roberta’s hands. Sara just can’t contain herself. Looking indignant, she “reminds” Victoria Roberta is their abuela. That’s what I’m afraid of Victoria says! No, I’m kidding, she didn’t really say that but she looked as though she wanted to. Exasperated, Sara holds her hands up and follows Leo.

Inside all hell is breaking loose, Roberta is actually physically trying to pry Nico away from Romina as Inez stands there horrified. Leo arrives, asking what is going on!

Zaira and Joaquina continue their conversation about the poison/medicine. There is much fretting and wringing of hands by Joaquina. Zaira is reminding Joaquina that Mauricio is dead and as for Leo? Well, you know.

At Aleida the restaurant, Fidel has cornered Dan and Aleida. He is still trying to pry about the pictures. After a tentative reply from Aleida, Fidel starts asking Danilo and I believe Aleida says Danilo doesn’t need to answer. Fidel apologizes but looks very suspicious. Jenny comes up and manages to get Fidel to leave. Aleida shows genuine concern for Jenny, asking how she is. Danilo stares as if in a trance and stands; Aleida joins him and they leave.

Nico tries to defend himself. Roberta calls him insolent and we know Leo is really mad as his eyes are flashing and he fights back verbally as death rays emit from Roberta’s eyes.

Sebas tells Emilia the only important thing is her happiness as he kisses her hand and leaves.

Marijo and Emilia appear to be reviewing the books and things appear to look dire.

Sara asks about the children and he confirms he is proceeding with the divorce. The argument escalates as Sara spits out Romina is “hers” and both Roberta and Fidel are brought up. Leo gets a text from Marijo.

Gael and Tigre are at the hospital, it seems he is going to get the operation after all. Gael gets emotional and hugs his father fearing the worst. Tigre assures his son he will be all right, confident words that don’t quite reach his face.

Diana

MINAS #94 Part 2 of 3

Emilia and Marijo meet with Roberta and Leo. Emilia wears a gorgeous short caramel colored leather jacket and a golden south sea pearl “Y” necklace. Marijo excuses herself and returns with Marat. Introductions follow with Roberta looking quite angry. After Roberta and the board members leave, clearly miffed, Victoria asks Leo about the children, looking very sad.

Jenny arrives to be greeted warmly by Gigi, who starts in on Fatima’s betrayal. Next, she brings up Victoria but guest Zaira comes immediately to her defense, saying she is a good person. Gael texts Zaira to come to the hospital and she leaves. Jenny wants Gigi to go to the doctor with her and Gigi immediately says yes.

Roberta is trying to apologize/explain to Nico, which is truly sickening. Nico is obviously frightened. Nico refers to Romina and Leo as his family but she angrily asserts that your only family is me! She threatens the poor child by saying those he loves will pay the price if he doesn’t return “home” with her. Quelle horreur viewerville yells in unison!

Sebas meets with Leo and proceeds to pepper him with inappropriate questions. Leo asserts his relationship with Victoria is professional but it is clear Sebas doesn’t believe him. He actually asks Leo what his intentions are referring to Victoria as “his”! Victoria arrives to take Sebas with her to the hospital. Sebas semi smirks and gloats in triumph to Leo.

Emilia and Sebas arrive at the hospital as Gael takes his leave. Tigre is surprised to see Sebas and Emilia, as he clutches a crucifix in his hands. He lectures them a bit and says that whether he lives or dies, he wants them to promise him they will get married. Zaira and Gael watch expressionlessly from the door.

Marijo gives Marat a tour of the mine. The conversation turns to Victoria and clearly uncomfortable, Marijo changes the subject and leads him away. The little miner spy is watching.

Tigre continues pushing his agenda, Zaira putting her hand to her head. He prompts Sebas to declare himself which he does. I’m not positive but I think Emilia agrees (?) She and Sebas leave Zaira alone with Tigre.

Leo is screaming, taking all of his frustrations out on Orlando. Orlando tries to defend himself, blaming the guilty party, Fidel. Orlando turns the tables and seems to put the lion’s share of the blame on Roberta. Kindly clarify if there was anything pivotal said.

Gigi and Jenny are at the doctors. I don’t want to get this wrong so can only make a (hopefully) somewhat educated guess. As the doctor seemed so sad and regretful, did he say Jenny can’t have children? Jenny is hysterical, running out of the office with Gigi in hot pursuit.

There is a very emotional scene between Zaira and Tigre. He compliments her but don’t think he tells her he was lying about the affair. She blesses him and caresses his cheek and leaves. He kisses the crucifix.

MINAS #94 Part 3 of 3

Inez goes to pick up Nico but is told La Patrona picked him up! Danilo watches from behind a partition.

Emilia and Sebas walk the hospital corridor. He only wants her happiness. She assures him her father will be all right. She frets about Nico and La Gloria. They kiss. Zaira catches up with Emilia, telling her Tigre is the love of her life, then asking about Sebastian.

Ramiro has joined Marijo and Marat. Marat seems to be pointing out minerals in the ground (?) Marijo asks him to follow up but Ramiro, clearly petrified for his family’s safety refuses.

Roberta tells Joaquina that Nico is there; Joaquina looks nonplussed. When Joaquina goes to his room, Nico is on the bed. He doesn’t want to be there; he wants to be with Leo and his sister. Joaquina assures him he isn’t alone.

Zaira starts to say something about Sebastian to Emilia when Danilo comes up and interrupts the conversation. He tells her Roberta has taken Nico. When Leo arrives home, Inez greets him, apologizing and tells him the same.

Nico asks Joaquina for her cell; he wants to phone a friend. Joaquina assumes it is Leo, but no, it’s Victoria. She looks shocked. Emilia asks where he is and is told in my grandmother’s house. Are you all right Emilia says looking extremely worried.

Tigre is cantankerous as he is given the anesthetic. He is counting and falls under.

Leo is trying to call Roberta but she doesn’t answer. Leo’s day is about to get a whole lot worse as Ezequiel arrives. Leo is handcuffed and arrested for fraud, supposedly being accused by Marijo!

Joaquina pours tea which Roberta immediately suspects is “tainted” (guilty conscience perhaps?). When Joaquina answers the doorbell, Roberta picks up the tea cup and smells it.

Victoria arrives at Roberta’s and is given an icy reception. She wants Roberta to return Nico home to Leo. Roberta pulls out her ace in the hole, her knowledge that Victoria’s secret is a secret no longer. She threatens to reveal her as Emilia Sanchez, the miner. Emilia meets her gaze levelly but Joaquina, thrown completely for a loop, stares wide eyed.

"MINAS" EPISODE#94:

Diana: Howdy from the Alamo City. Good Job with the recap of last night's episode. Smarmy Fidel still making Adelia uncomfortable UGH. That dude needs to go to prison ASAP.

Marijo: Trying to figure out her entire backstory in all of this chaos.

Psycho Roberta pulling out her ace card against Emilia: Fast Forward!

Doubling-down on Jenny NEVER having kids. I just plain despise this woman!

Minas
Thanks, Diana. You always pick very fitting adjectives, I must say. 'cantankerous' is my new favourite. That adjective describes tigre on more than one occasion. Gael was right when he said it was unfair of tigre to put all the responsibility on him alone by asking him not to tell anyone he had agreed to have that surgery. Tigre also hasn't changed his mind about ending his marriage with Zaira I believe. I think he said that even if he can walk after the operation, there'll be months of rehabilitation and at their age every day is 'a wrinckle and two grey hair'.
Orlando was forced to tell Leo it was Fidel who ordered that assassination attempt. Roberta 'didn't approve' and they argued. Orlando tells he was under threat too. Leo doesn't want to hear it. Then oOrlando says something thatshows how he lacks certain understanding by saying that Leo should make up with his mother because she didn't try to kill him. It's just...It's all fine, Leo. You can be friends again. Apparently Leo should be happy because he still has his mother because Orlando would give anything to see his own mother again. I dislike the kind of behaviour we saw here:don't complain because I have it worse. I also wonder if Orlando's 'I was threatened' and 'I didn't know what they were doing' would stand up in court. Orlando, like Leo, is reluctant to do anything. He could have left the twon and yet he stayed and again let his father control his life. He talks about how Jen was the one who 'got him out', but he never really left. It's interesting Leo wants loyalty from someone who is somewhat like him. Didn't he notice? After all, Leo was nowhere to be found when it was a question of loyalty and standing up to people.
I wonder what Zaira knows about Sebastian because she told Emilia that despite all the years together, she can't know what Sebas is capable of.
Did they really have to go on about how Emilia shouldn't marry Sebas out of obligation? She shouldn't have agreed to start a relationship with him in the first place. I still wonder what reason she'd have given to Leo as to why they can't be together when he asked about it and Sebas interrupted them. Now they'll use Sebas' night with Miriam to make him'not so perfect'. Sebas said Emilia is a great/honest person and he doesn't deserve her. She said she isn't perfect but for some reason it sounded as though she actually thinks she's wonderful really. I think Sebas deserves better than either her or Miriam. Neither of them will love him with the intensity he can offer. Emilia's taste in men is awful but I suppose I'll just have to get through these last episodes. But I really don't want to have to watch all these scenes where Leo learns who she is and there's the whole 'you still love me' talk. Leo already was happy to throw at Sebas that Victoria may not love him. I find it quite interesting that a man who is generally cowardly and weak is so confident a strong, brave and confident woman is in love with him and that she'd be willing to be with him. Not long ago he was ready to leave his wife for her and then made 'a sacrifice' for the kids. I wonder what Leo would do if Roberta again was absolutely against this relationship and tried to discredit Victoria. So far he only has screaming matches with her and Sara.
Fidel asked if Dan had resolved his issues with Leo. Aleida told him it's none of his business.
Joaquina needs to wake up. But I have no hope. She frets and worries and yet does nothing except give Nico her phone. But she has nothing to say when people point out what Roberta has done.
That plot with Jen and not being able to get pregnant is medieval. It really looks like they wanted to punish her even if everyone says 'oh no it's not that'. This, together with the kind of men we have here, makes me wonder what people who wrotethe script are like.

Thanks, Jarifa, I enjoy reading what happened and getting filled in on things above my Spanish skills.

I’m glad you mentioned Amazon Prime because it seemed like the same guy has been in the last few episodes, sometimes just walking by in a scene. It made me wonder if he was the hooded guy that seems to know so much about Manuela’s and other’s lives!

I was afraid Dulce would disappear. I couldn’t understand everything Carmina said to her but knew it was horrible. Maybe this will make Pablo accept Dulce. He’ll worry about her and search for her.

Amanda has always been used by her children. I feel they both favored their father. Maybe they learned to disrespect her because of the way he treated her.

I liked Leandro not feeling as welcome as Pablo was, he’s sent to the bedroom to visit with his daughter!

Liz

Minas

Thanks Diana and Waterlily, together you filled in my many blanks!

So Roberta is taking Nicolas away, I wonder why. And she had Leo arrested. If Marijo accused Leonardo she can drop the charges. As I’m sure it was really Roberta.

I wonder what Zaira knows about Sebastian. It would have to be more than sleeping with Miriam. It should be something so everyone is ok with Emilia dumping him.

I’m so mad at Joaquina. How many lives have to be ruined before she decides to do something. She and Leo are both disappointments. Maybe they’ll redeem themselves in these last few weeks.

That was me! Liz

Thanks, Diana. "Leandro is so self-important, insulting, and obvious. He believes he is so clever but obviously not clever enough to realize his daughter is playing him like a fiddle." I cannot wait until the smug look is gone from his face forever. It has to happen, right? I hope that Dulce turns up soon and was not kidnapped. "Poor Walter. Paloma was already going to dump him, does he have to die too??" I guess it will just make Paloma feel more "guilty" as if she needs anything else. Yikes!!!

Liz, "I’m glad you mentioned Amazon Prime because it seemed like the same guy has been in the last few episodes, sometimes just walking by in a scene. It made me wonder if he was the hooded guy that seems to know so much about Manuela’s and other’s lives!" Interesting possibility. "Amanda has always been used by her children. I feel they both favored their father. Maybe they learned to disrespect her because of the way he treated her." I just cannot take her being the doormat to her kids now that Everardo is gone. Enrique seems to be able to hold much healthier line with his offspring.

Minas
Liz, it didn´t occur to me Zaira needs something more incriminating on Sebas. I thought any excuse will do because Emilia didn´t sleep with anyone so they´d just frame it as betrayal. Now I´m worried about poor Seb. How did Zaira get her info? But it's kind of hard to beat Leo in the 'cowardly, weak and useless' department. The non-development of these characters is so weird to me. I also was surprised Sebas again was ready to help Miriam when he learnt she was selling drugs. He told the gang Addled was making her do it, but how could he do that if this is exactly the kind of thing she should have refused to do? I mean, if she can't turn him in, she could have taken the child and moved somewhere else. Or does she absolutely need Sebas to go with her? This annoys me because it seems unfair if they are going to throw Seb under the bus whereas Miriam can sit twiddling her thumbs and still somehow everyone ends up seeming like an ass if they don't support her.
I also have to note that tigre is not one to settle for less. He said that he either can walk after the surgery or God can take him. I can't get over the craziness of this ultimatum. He has a wife and a son who outright told him thatregardless of whether he can walk or not, he needs him in his life. Was he always like this? First he talked about how nothing had meaning when his daughter is dead. Now the said daughter is back and he still acts as if he is a burden because he can't walk. His complaining makes him a burden because he can't be happy even when he is given what he asked for. I'm pretty annoyed with him. His behaviour from the very start didn't endear him to me, what with his refusal to marry Zaira and disowning of Emilia.

VIDA

Good Morning, PRIMETIME Patio(s)!!

I'm watching Vida but not until "the morning after." Doris, I'm so glad to see you!!

SusanLynn, I really like Susana too. I had never seen Lanus in anything, and TBH, he's not impressing me here.

Urban, Juan Soler does look HAWT doesn't he? Diana, had to laugh at "Grizzly Adams" but so true!

Liz, yes, that is Susana's RL hubby playing her dead/murdered?? husband, German. There was a discussion between Rolando (Lisardo) and Natalia. Natalia does accuse him of killing German because, despite growing up with German and (pretending) being his BFF, Ro has always wanted Paul for himself. And Ro accuses Natalia of being a fake friend to Natalia too and wanting to overtake Natalia's company. She tells him to hurry up and win over Natalia and be a distraction while she works on getting the company. Backstabber's GALORE!!

Diana, there is definitely history between Lorenzo (Soler) and Isabela. From what I gather, so far, Isabel was dating Alex, but he left oversees to pursue his music career. Lorenzo and Isabela met afterwards and had an immediate attraction...fell in love...whatever. And,yes, there was a consequence--Rafa (this was confirmed last night when Isabela confessed this to her BFF). Apparently, Alex came back and got back together with Isabela; they married. Some time later, Lorenzo returned and started to pursue Isabela; so Alex offered his properties to Lorenzo in exchange for Lorenzo leaving Isabela to him...and they signed a contract! Alex confessed this to Isabela last night and she was not a happy camper.

I'm not liking Malena at all. Can't believe she is fighting to get Pepe back. I was so glad Malena's daughter told her that she wasn't her "friend" and wouldn't be used as such to help Malena get Pepe back. And the daughter confronts Rafa about being her mother's lover...can't wait to se what he says!

I too was very touched and teary-eyed when Paula told Lor that she was dying. Susana and Juan are hitting it out of the park with their performances. Can't say much about the others, though, here's hoping that they improve and that the writing in their parts improve too. The attempts at comedy are somewhat off-putting.

Gotta go...if you have any questions, I'll try to answer as best and as soon as I can.

Have a wonderful and safe day!

VIDA

Oh one more thing--Natalia found out that Paula was seeing a neurooncologist EEESHHH!

Vencer

Gracias, Jarifa. Always a treat.

I have no problem with the cruel digs Leandro gave Pablo. I know Leandro is just as trans/homophobic as Pablo, but I enjoyed Pablo's guilt about doing nada for his desperate son.

I like the Paloma actress, but the storyline about lazy parents and the "meh" triangle are my least favorite here. But now they have to obliterate kind, strong Walter in a horrific crash? What a shame.

Yep, Amanda is an exemplary mother. If Tamara thinks deeply about her life growing up, she'll realize Amanda never let Everardo's disrespect interfere with the love and care she showered on her kids.

VIDA - capitulo #3

Thanks for the welcome back, RgvChick. I'm here as long as the episodes are one-hour long.

In true telenovelalandia fashion, there were major LOL eye-roll moments in this episode:
1.) Paula collapses, so they load her into a pickup truck. No calling an ambulance (“it’ll take too long!”). At least she wasn’t dumped into the flatbed part of Pepe’s truck!
2.) Pepe stops on the side of the road to try to wake up Paula and have a convo with her, while he could still be rushing her to the hospital, because, like, she might be dying??? ;-)

It should be interesting when Pepe finds out Malena was 'doing' his own brother. Ew.

OF COURSE Malena wants to stay with Pepe. He is her meal ticket! AFAIK she doesn’t work, doesn’t care for nor about her children. Oh, and what a witch, grumbling how she doesn’t want to be stuck alone with Teo (as a single parent). WHY doesn't she use sign language back with Teo? Poor kid has to read her lips, which is an excellent skill to have, but it seems like a disrespect toward him as his mother.

The Wikipedia page summary for episode #2 says, “Natalia proposes to Rolando that they join forces to strip Paula of her fortune.” Whoa, I totally missed that one. If they find out she's dying, Rolo will want to marry her so he can inherit the fortune. Just a Crockpot Theory©.

VENCER

Niecie, thanks. It is too bad that they can't allow Walter rto ide off into the sunset like back to Argentina. Of course, it is only the paramedic who has said he probably won't make it. Maybe he will but somehow I doubt it.

MINAS

Waterlily, thank you! Your observations are ever sharper (if possible). Thank you for the light you shed on everything.

"I wonder what Zaira knows about Sebastian because she told Emilia that despite all the years together, she can't know what Sebas is capable of". Now I'm dying of curiosity. Whatever could he have done???

Your comments about Tigre were spot on. Gael loves him so much as does Zaira, yet as you noted it is what he wants and yes "it's all or nothing". Thank you for the reminder that this is not new and that "his behaviour from the very start didn't endear him to me, what with his refusal to marry Zaira and disowning of Emilia". So true!!

"Orlando says something thatshows how he lacks certain understanding by saying that Leo should make up with his mother because she didn't try to kill him. It's just...It's all fine, Leo. You can be friends again". Oh my Orlando, so delicious but so dense.

Fantastic comments, thank you for all your savvy and smart insights!

MINAS

Thanks Liz!

I completely agree with you. Whatever the revelation about Sebas is, it must be enough so that most (maybe not Tigre) will "forgive" Emilia for not ending up with Sebas. This is going to be interesting.

Joaquina has lost my respect. She has been silent far too long and I don't see how atonement is going to be possible.

Thanks for your support Steve!

Diana

VIDA

Rgv Chick, I was delighted to read you post!

So happy to read and savor your amazing take on everything; I loved "Backstabber's GALORE!!" So, so true...

I cannot thank you enough for providing the background on Rolando and especially Lorenzo and Isabela. Such important details that I never would have gleaned. "Alex offered his properties to Lorenzo in exchange for Lorenzo leaving Isabela to him...and they signed a contract!" Excuse me while I pick my jaw off the ground. Isabela "sold" to the highest bidder! I cannot fathom how she feels. So this is love??

Yes, Paula and Lorenzo are standouts here. But look at who is portraying them.

Thank you again!!

Diana

VIDA

"If they find out she's dying, Rolo will want to marry her so he can inherit the fortune. Just a Crockpot Theory©". doris, I grinned ear to ear reading this but do think you are onto something. Your noting Pepe stops the non-ambulance truck to wake Paula to TALK when she might indeed be dying was another great observation!

Did Malena ever bother to learn sign language? If she knows even the most elementary signs, I didn't see any evidence of it last night.

Pepe will probably be in the dark about Malena for quite some time. I have always thought Pedro Moreno was so handsome. He still has the biceps but looks a bit haggard although that may be due to being "in character".

Diana

VIDA

Thank you all for your comments on this tn. Certainly seems to be interesting and just the right mix of agility and stalling. I’ll be staying on to see how this goes.

The to-do list Paula made was so touching. It brought tears to my eyes. I hope the production keeps this in mind and takes us through that journey.

My concern is with Andrea. She seems hell bent on discovering who Tia Malena’s amante is, she may get so inconsolable if she finds out it’s her dad. As always, Karla Gaytan acing the fierce teenager role here. Let’s see how it goes.

I hope we don’t get to see Susana all bald in the later episodes, assuming her disease advances so much. I’m I ready to cry that much?

Bree

VIDA

So glad you posted Bree!

I think Paula has won our hearts; I am hoping she has either been misdiagnosed or is able to have successful surgery.

THANK YOU for "As always, Karla Gaytan acing the fierce teenager role here. Let’s see how it goes". I initially thought she was playing Andrea but she looks even younger here than in Invencible so I dismissed it.

Diana

VIDA

Bree - Paula probably won't become bald because there is no treatment, unless the stress of facing death makes it fall out, which is highly doubtful. Also, per the neurologist (not an oncologist!) ... and she went to Houston*, the Official Medical Experts City in the USA for almost all telenovelas ... her tumor is too far gone, something like stage 4+++. She was sent home to die in less than a year.

But don't give up hope! This is telenovelaland where anything is possible. A hospital stay with chemo & hair loss, and the standard-issue telenovela rules neck brace, and ... who knows ... there might be a telenovela miracle and HEA (happy ever after).

* I'm guessing they always infer M.D.Anderson, but who knows?

VIDA

Whoa!!! Found a cast list to learn which actress was cooking with Isabela, who also now knows Isa's secret ... looks like it's Laura Flores. I kept thinking she looked familiar, but never would have guessed who is the actress. Wow. She sure looks different as a blonde.
