Mundo de Fieras - Friday 11/24/06
Tiberio is in the entry-room to the house demanding that Delores confess who his father is when Regina walks in from the wedding party and answers him for her. “Demian is your father! Demian!” Just then, speaking of the Devil, Demian enters the entry-room and Regina says, “Here is Demian. Ask him yourself if what I’ve just told you is true or not. Go on.” Demian again in a big huff admits to Tiberio that he is his father after all and then storms out of the house as Ti asks him “Why, Why--?“. (About now I am feeling like I need a shower and that this has become some sort of harem situation here.) Doleful Delores is crying and Ti is practically speechless, but he manages to keep stuttering “No! No! No!” Then he finally bellows out in pain once he realizes that his father has never had any true feelings for him at all or he’d have claimed his sorry simpering rear by now.
Demian goes to see the padre who had performed at Pau and JC’s wedding. He tells the padre who is still disgusted with him, why he’s come to confess. He has promised his wife he was going to change and so this is what he'll tell her and the priest won't be able to lie. He'll have to say that he did come to confession. They sit and he confesses all his murderous and destructive acts to the priest, including the attempt on his brother’s life and that of Delores’ brother and how he managed to implicate her in Edgar’s death and why. Demian explains to him that it was all because of his obsessive love for his wife, his only reason for being. He discusses the situation with Tiberio and explains that Delores became too much of a nuisance and so he arranged for the murder of her brother to get her out of the way so he could marry Regina. He tells the priest also that when El Chacal failed him with the attempt on Gabe, El Chacal paid with his own life instead. Afterward Demian reminds the priest that he’s honor bound to keep silent. He sneers at all the religious traditions and laughs that now he’s confessed he has to tell Regina if she asks that, yes he’s come to church and made confession. The priest says he will not give him absolution unless he repents, admits his crimes and turns himself in. Again Demian laughs and refuses and then he walks out.
At the mansion the doctor that they finally called (mercifully somebody called, maybe the maid?) to come check on Diana has just finished checking her. Because of her bleeding from the fall in the shower she has lost the baby. Rogelio is in the upstairs hallway as the doctor comes out of their bedroom and tells him that the baby was lost and tells him he’s sorry. Rogelio waits for the doctor to get down the stairs and breaks into a huge grin. He immediately goes into see her and gloat at the fact that they are no longer going to be anchored to each other because of a child. She is devastated and cries from the horrible guilt she feels as well as from the rotten, heartless things the beast she married has just told her.
Throughout though, we see the contrast of the happy newlyweds, Juan Cristobal and Paulina, on their honeymoon. J.C. decides to finally shave off his perpetual scruffy stubble stuff you can't quite call a beard, and we get to finally see a handsome, clean cut Sebastian Rulli (Yay!) as a young professional-looking guy on his honeymoon, who pretty much promises his new bride the world with a bow wrapped around it forever.
Regina cannot get over the humiliation and the pain that her husband caused everybody with his silly outburst at the wedding. She decides she’s given the marriage all she’s going to, has made every effort to keep her part of the bargain, but this was the last straw. So she packs her bag and sits by the door to wait for Demian’s return to break the news to him again. (None of the women in this mela-novela are too bright, are they? If you plan to leave, just go already! He still has one eye left so he can read still. Leave a note on his pillow or on the fridge or something!) He of course comes in from his confessed non-confession and sees Regina’s bag there next to her. She sits there with a stone face and says she’s finally had it and is leaving him. He of course immediately gets on his knees to her and begs her to stay and save him from himself as only she can. (Maybe this is an ego trip for the woman, who has otherwise, obviously been mentally brutalized and brainwashed into thinking she is a worthless human being.) Her price for staying is for Demian to ask forgiveness from both his sons for the rotten and selfish way he’s treated them all these years.
Nicolas calls up Delores and says he has some shocking news regarding the death of her brother and asks to meet with her. When they meet he tells her he so far cannot prove it, but he has reason to believe that both Miriam and Jos were somehow involved with Edgar’s death. Delores is impactada.
Pedro and Gabe come upstairs to see Diana and Rogelio and Gabe tells her not to blame herself for the loss of the baby. Rogelio grabs Diana’s hand and lies to his father saying that he is as sad at the loss of the baby as Diana. This just galls Diana and she pulls her hand away from him immediately. She bawls again, even louder, but she doesn’t call him out for the lying sack of manure he is (and another good opportunity for Diana to regain a bit of dignity is wasted).
Elsa lets El Coyote know that she’s coming to live with him after all. He says he didn’t expect her to decide quite so soon. She insists and so he takes her on the back of the motorcycle to his flea bag 2-room “efficiency” he shares with the rats and various extended families of roaches. They walk in and she is immediately disgusted with the filth and the trash everywhere. He tells her she is the one now who will be in charge of picking up the place and keeping it clean. Then he shows her the bed-closet he sleeps in with its twin-sized mattress and smiles at her. (Enjoy, Elsa! Enjoy!)
In the meantime Belen has Silvestre taking her to work in his cab. He explains to her that he doesn’t mean to be rude or too forward, but she shouldn’t get the wrong idea. She’s a good girl but he cannot give his heart to her because he is simply stuck on Elsa despite the fact she doesn’t suit him one bit. So he finishes by giving her the “we can be friends” speech, which at this point she realizes (as she thinks back to her last chat with Ti), is a heck of a lot more than she got from the last guy she was interested in.
After Gabe and Pedro leave, Rogelio tells Diana that he’s using the loss of the baby as an excuse to stay home from work that day. He lets off with a few more rude things about it and then goes into the bathroom to take a shower. She gets out of bed and leaves. When Rogelio gets out of the shower and returns to the bedroom he sees Diana’s note on the bed and reads that she’s finally left him and doesn’t want to ever see him again. He immediately checks the closet and her jewelry box and sees she hasn’t taken a thing. (Stupid, stupid, stupid. What is she going to do now, go back to shaking her booty to eat?) This makes him jump for joy and he takes his wedding ring off and throws it down, laughing about how he is finally free.
Leo tells his mother when she finally wakes up that the doctor has strict orders that she is not to work for a while. Mariangela offers to stay with her and keep her company a while and Leo goes to the manse to let Miriam know that his mother won’t be able to come to work for a bit. He gets there as Miriam is walking down the stairs and she greets him a bit less formally than before. He explains Candy is ill and will be out a few days. Miriam says it is okay and to tell his mother she sends her best wishes. He leaves as Jos comes down the stairs. She sees the strange way her mother was around Leo and asks what the reason is for Miriam’s strange reaction around this guy. Miriam just fidgets but says it’s nothing.
Tiberio finally corners his father and asks him why he’s never told him or ever treated him like his son. Demian says he’s never lacked a thing and that he felt it was better not to bring it up because it would lead to the shame of knowing his mother was in jail. Tiberio emphasizes the fact that he is his first born son and he should know this. He complains he was always treated as second best. Demian swears he’s always felt more proud of him than J.C. He felt that JC was simply too weak, but Ti was just like him and that is what counts. Ti tells Demian that he owes him bigtime. When Demian leaves Ti giggles to himself that as the first born son he will get all of this now and not JC. “What a surprise is coming to Juan Cristobal when he returns to find that we are brothers!”
Diana goes to Saraya’s house and asks if she can stay with her. She explains she’s left Rogelio and that she just lost the baby. Saraya hugs her and says she understands the loss of her child more than anybody right now, then tells her about how Jorge rejected her out of shame and wants nothing to do with her.
Delores pays an unexpected visit to Miriam and Jos at the manse. They spit and hiss insults at her and remind her she is not welcome there. (Do say.) This time she spits and hisses right back and tells them she plans on proving they were involved in Edgar’s death. Miriam grabs Jos's hand as the shock of this realization is almost unbearable. Miriam denies it and says Delores's twenty years in a cell must have driven her crazy. Then Jos threatens her with a suit for defamation of character, but Delores shoves it right back in her face; she dares her to go right ahead. She would love nothing more than to reopen the subject in a courtroom and get her side of things aired. So Miriam and Jos yell at her to "Get lost, just get lost! " She says she’s Karen’s aunt and she is staying because she has every right to see her niece. Karen shows up right then because of all the ruckus and says she’ll talk to Delores. They are left alone and Karen says she’s not really interested in what Delores has to say, but Delores questions her. “You aren’t even interested in knowing that Tiberio is my son?” Karen stops in her tracks and stares at her aunt.
