Heridas de Amor Thursday January 11

At the island of the dolls in Xichimilco
El Guapo tells Berta he's going to extract the scent of fear and death and cuts one of his fingers and then proceeds to cut off one of Berthas fingers .

Liliana, tells Miranda that she is sorry that without her intention she caused so many problems between her and Alejandro. Miranda tells her that is she wants her to listen to her, to be honest and tell her the truth, that all she did was for her own sake. Liliana tells her she is right.

they argue and Liliana asks Miranda if she would be willing to give Alejandro his freedom, she replies, that she would let Alejandro make his own decisions and that is what love is all about.

In Puerto Vallarta, Miranda plays with her nephew as Charo tells her if she spoils her nephew she can only imagine how she'll treat her own son. She asks her if she still loves Alejandro and she says she does as she recalls her wedding day. Rebeca arrives and tells her that Julio is getting worse but decided to come to take her grandson home.

Liliana, goes to see Alejandro and tell him that Miranda is a great woman and that he should go after her, she says that that will be the last time they see each other and dumbell has the nerve to say that if shouldn't that be his decision.\She tell him that Miranda is letting him decide what he wants to do and not to many women would do that. She tells him that she already called Sofia's dad and that he was thrilled to find out he has a daughter and even ask her to give their relationship a try, Alejandro is happy for her and tells her that if she ver needs anything to call him. When Liliana leaves he calls his chauffer and tells him to have his plane ready ASAP he is going to the hacienda to try to win Miranda back because she is the love of his life and he will do whatever it takes towin her back.

Alejandro arrives at the hacienda and sees Arcadia. He asks where is everyone and she says she has not been home so she has no idea, he looks for Gabino and asks him where Miranda Gabino tells him that even if he cuts his tongue he won't tell him where she is. He asks him if it's an order from Miranda and he says it is. He tells him he loves Miranda like he loves Arcadia but Gabino tells him if he has to be loyal to him or Miranda he'll pick her. He begs him to help him and Gabino finally admits that she is in Puerto Vallarta with Fabricio that the hotel info is on the desk in her office, and to hurry because she leaves for Europe the following morning.

Cesar arrives in Puerto Vallarta and checks into the hotel under Alejandro Luque's name. Charo tells Rebeca she saw Cesar but Rebeca tells him he's on the run and can't be him. Cesar sees Rebeca and says she's going to help him.

Alejandro thanks Naty for giving him cocoa water saying it gave him strength. She tells him to fight for her and listen to her in silence. She gives him some cocoa and says if Miranda turns him down to give it to her and tells her the cocoa bush needs a lot to go thru lots of hands. He tries to talk but she tells him he's loosing strength and tells him to leave as he orders his plane ready to go to Puerto Vallarta.

Miranda asks Fabricio how his project went and he tells her he already signed the contract to put his project forward. He tells her he wants their trip to be a second chance and if it doesn't work they'll remain friends. Veronica tells Renata that now that they're rich again that have no help. Renata says she's learned along the way what is more important. Veronica asks her who the father of her baby is and she says it doesn't matter because the baby is hers and she is going to raise him to have the same qualities that Juan has.

Alejandro arrives at the hotel and asks if Miranda Sanllorente or Fabricio are staying in the Hotel, the man tells him that the Fabricio and his wife are having lunch at the restaurant on the deck.
Miranda tells Fabricio she can't make a decision in the time they had to each lunch. He tells her to think that their love was interrupted by Florencia and then Alejandro. She tells him she doesn't see him as a man and doesn't want to lie to him. He leans over and asks her for another chance and kisses her.

Alejandro arrives at that moment and sees them and says they have taken great advantage of their time together. Fabricio asks Alejandro what he's doing there as he and Miranda stare at each other. He says he has nothing to do there as he asks Miranda if they can talk.

Gloria, thanks so much for signing on with us! You added something new and special to the blog. Good luck with everything and don't be a stranger!!!

Thanks for the recap, Gloria! This has got to be one of the weirdest novelas I've ever seen! Dangling doll babies and a sicko guy chopping off fingers---yuck! What happened to the car going off the cliff or hauling the baddies off to prison?:) I hope the next novela is better because this one has been a real letdown the way it has dragged towards the end. And it started out so well-- Becky T.

I got to see the creepy dolls!! What a perfect place for Bertha to meet her demise. After seeing those scenes I can appreciate Angela's reference to the river Styx and Hades. Very apropos! I thought the mangled, sometimes eyeless dolls were very symbolic of Bertha's empty soul. She could have had the love of her nieces but she traded that in for a life filled with deceit and revenge.

Gloria, thanks for your recaps and for giving us some real star appeal with your photos, insight and stories!

P.S. Gloria, good luck on your fundraising campaign and have fun on your trek to Nepal!

Gloria...thanks for great recaps and very funny "asides"....please tell us exactly what we need to do to donate to the fund (in your name?) Judy

thank you gloria! good luck with your fundraiser and your trip to india... i hope it touches the heart of many!

Gloria!

Thank you for being with us. Thank you for all your inside scoop, photos and whatnot.

Have a great time in India and I hope you raise tons of $$$.
Best!

OMIGOSH !!!! I can't believe that scene of El Guaypo and Bertha. When he appeared with those cutting pliers , I heard my hubby mutter, ''uh-oh.'' This storyline is becoming very bizarre and surreal....Bertha is turning into a tragic figure and the need for revenge and retribution seems to be very strong and unfailing in the Mexican telenovela. Yikes! What's next??? Wonder what lies in store for Sleazer. Thanks so much , Gloria. ~~~~Susanlynn, hoping the gran finale isn't too gory

How can they possibly wrap this all up tonight???

I was a little disappointed that we saw Bertha last night. I thought that should have been left the way it was on Wednesday, with Bertha coming off of the boat and El Guapo hinting at the horrors ahead.

Maybe she is being kept alive so that Sleazar will somehow try to rescue her and then they can both get killed together? That seems pretty unlikely, what with him being in PV right now.

It's just that it seems weird to me that we're still tracking Bertha's progress. Perhaps it's because Guapo has a punishment coming too. Again - how can it all fit in one hour??

I was wondering that too, then thought, oh crap what if it is longer than one hour? I have a busy weekend, can I handle it? But no, checked the listings and it's just one hour. I expect Al and Miranda to almost have a fight, then oh hell let's make out, that ends that. Cesar gets caught trying to kidnap mophead and the baby, with Charo being the one to point him out to the cops. Guapo keeps Bertha there as a slave, or maybe he burns the house down. Otherwise, everyone is happy happy with whoever they are in a relationship with right now, with Slutty and Sanson hooking up because they can have unsafe sex with each other all they want. These are my predictions.

I also thought that Veronica and Sanson would end up together since they are in the same boat, but I have no idea what will happen to the rest of them. Have you noticed that there has been no mention of Angel and Daniel in weeks? There are no unattached females left for Fab to hook up with except Fern, Nati, and Charo...even Amparo is spoken for. I don't think people thought this one out enough. Will we get any closure or are we doomed to an unclear , unsatisfying nonending????~~~Susanlynn

How bout Fab + Marisol. Neither of them seems all that picky. :)

Yes, Marisol and Fab would work because he is making tons of money now and she wants a sugar daddy. I feel sorry for the kid, though, if Marisol is her mommy dearest.

By the way, I LOVED that Charo got to go to PV. Finally she gets something besides a slap in the face. She'd better get a good hefty bonus too!

Susanlynn, I started watching my Alborada DVD last night with my sis. I sure do miss that quality of show, I appreciate it even more now. One hour into it my sis said "there are a lot of cute guys in this show, aren't there?" (And no, I'm not an engineer, I'm a sailmaker which explains why I'm dying to see a pirate telenovela. Bring on the swashbuckling!!!)

where did you get an alborada dvd? Any other copies out there? thx

I got the edited 4 disc set at Target for about $19.00. If there are any bigger, better versions Susanlynn probably knows about them. The telenovela is edited down to about 14 hours (sad I know). I can't comment on the editing yet, haven't seen enough, but so far it doesn't seem too heinous.

i'm also looking forward to the pirata novela.

i actually saw a blogpage on univision where they say that colunga's participation in the pirata telenovela is confirmed and that the female protagonist would be either adela noriega or barbara mori. i personally hope it's mori, since i'm not a fan of adela, but oh well, as long as fer is in it i am happy! ;) in any case i tried to find the actual article that is refered in this blogpage but couldn't find it, so i am not sure how accurate this is... i guess we should find out soon though since i believe carla estrada mentioned that by february they'd have a clear idea of who would be part of the cast.

Nice touch with the cutting fingers off with pliers. The worst novela death was the evil sister in, I think it was abrazame muy fuerte she was hidden in a closet to kill someone and the building was fumigated so she died suffocated.

I guess I really like harsh punishments because Im happy with what is happening to Bertha . I have always felt like in other novelas that the bad guy doenst pay for their sins! The poisonings in Alborada were a let down. The burning of the Abuela in Barrera was a let down. Here we get to see Bertha suffer! I also hope Cesar has an equally horrible time. May he be stuck somewhere between hell and the river Styx.

Plus I dont care if Al and Miranda get together. If they do Miranda will still be a witch, jumping to abrupt conclusions and crying all the time. Al will say and do inappropriate things. He might even kiss on his new secretary or attorney. Blah Blah Blah. And Fab! He deserves to be always dreaming and wishing to be with Miranda. Thats his punishment for ditching Miranda for her sister in the first place.

Whew! Did I get a load off my shoulders! Best everyone!

Ahoy, Mateys!!!!! Sylvia, are there English subtitles on your Alborada dvds? If so, I'll be headed to Target ASAP. The unedited dvds can be found on ebay. I am not going to get my hopes up about the pirate movie or Fernando being in it...but...THAT WOULD BE SOOOO GREAT!!! [Be still my foolish heart.] I'm hoping Adela will be the female lead because even though I did not like her at first in ''Amor Real'', she really won me over , and I thought that she and Fernando had a lot more chemistry than Lucero and Fer. Adela just seemed to slip right into the character and became a woman of those very different and very restricted times....eyelashes batting and hoopskirts swirling. Anyhoo, I will cross my fingers and be veryveryvery good. ~~~Susanlynn, who loved ''Peter Pan'' and has never met a sailmaker or a pirate but would like to

it doesn't bother miranda that the Fab Creep cheated on her, married her sister, and now, 15 minutes after his wife dies, he is after her?? sheesh! That would be hard to resist. I have particularly enjoyed Berthe's rubbing her head in anguish all the time. My husband and I started taking bets on how long it would take the first weeping to start on each show. Then we added points to the bet if we got how many total weepings there would be per show. This is my first telenova ... i'm trying to relearn Spanish after a 40-year interlude. the best part has been these recaps. is there any way to get Jan. 5th recap back (it says Dec. 5th and now i can't see it)? I don't want to miss out on any detail.

Yes, the Alborada DVD does have English subtitles.

If you go to the box at the top left corner of the home page and click onto "Heridas Recaps" you should be able to find the Jan 5 recap. It looks like it's back on the list; it might be out of order.

It's not that I didn't want Bertha to suffer. It's just that when Guapo took her to the island, I had my own ideas of what would happen, all sorts of nameless unimaginable nightmarish visions, and cutting a finger off and taunting her with a bottle of her own sweat or whatever just didn't cut it in my book.

But Sleazar getting hit by a car was way more satisfying than I could have imagined. Perhaps because it was such a random, unremarkable event. Exactly what he deserved!

Yes! Julie! Cesar then having his heart donated to Julio for a transplant was a wickedly funny ending. They did good with that one for sure.

I also liked the ending for Al and Miranda. Yea!

At the very end, I kept having this vision of one of them falling off the boat...that wasn't nice of me. I didn't get the part about Cesar's heart going to Julio---now that's DIVINE JUSTICE !!! And, Nati flying off as a dove..how about that ? She always was a bird. I found Bertha's fate unnerving--slow death, all alone except for El's dead body...blech. Oh well, to quote Shakespeare : ''All's well that end's well.''~~~Susanlynn, moving on

In the Vincent Price movie Theatre of Blood, which is incredibly cheesy yet still not for the squeamish or faint of heart, there's a scene where the Vincent Price character chokes someone to death with a meat pie... made from the remains of the man's two beloved poodles.

I'd hate for El Guapo to do that to poor Lucas, but it would've been a fine ending for Bertha.

And yeah, I was kind of hoping Al would fall off the boat at the end. Just a little tiny bit. :-) I didn't think either of those guys deserved Miranda!
