Duelo de Pasiones - Wed April 4 - Tell Us What Happened
Labels: duelo
Well, I was disgusted that Soledad is now well and truly locked into the barn, when she has had days and days with an open trapdoor to escape and has actually been out several time. Her cluelessness is truly astounding.
I was hopeful because Thelma, for the very first time, may be realizing that her goose is cooked because way too many people have the information about the baby's true parentage. Plus, Castulo is a meaner dude than she herself is. That should give her pause!
I am tired of the we're going to Puebla/the trip's off scenario. I am tired of Orlando scheming.
We got a glimpse (okay, a pretty thorough glimpse) of Alfonsina enjoying the "good old times" with Alvaro. This gave insight into why she wants to destroy Soledad. Also, I remembered while they were having some afternoon delight that when Alfonsina was in Soledad's bedroom early on in the series, right after she gave Don Loco "the Letter," she said, "one day, this will all be mine as it should have been." I wondered at the time what the heck that was about. Now it's much clearer.
But, the final ending impactada (Flor) learning that the baby is not Emilio's but Gaspar's, straight from Gaspar's own mouth, was a very good thing, IMO.
To me, that sums it up.
Jeanne
Luba once again visits Marcario she wants Thelma gone. Did not see all of this part but when I came back to the tv he was going to do some curse so if anyone knows exactly what happened please tell me
New Hugo is great. I like him better. He stares at a pic of Don Loco and he is mad because obviously Alfonsina is his not Don Locos
Yes Alfonsina is back and she still wants Don Loco, as soon as she sees him she hikes up her dress a little. I do not want to talk about her because well I do not like her.
Castulo threatned Thelma and now Thelma is staying she walks down the stairs and pretnds to almost faint and her aunt says she will take care of Thelma while Emilio is gone.
Thelma is talking with Orlando and she is not going to make life easy for Flor. Now that Emilio and Angel will not be around to protect her. Orlando still thinks he is going to have her
Noone has told Alina/Flor that she is spoken for now by Angel, but Emilio does remind Orlando in a sense.
Thelma decides that after talking with Adela who has told her about Thelma meeting Gasper and Luba, that Gasper must know the secret that Luba will not tell her.
She runs off to find Gasper, he tells her after a few minutes, that the baby is his. Impactado, not me I knew he would. Thats about all.
Well now Alina knows the truth, but she will not make it back in time before Emilio leaves to tell him. That is what I think will happen. Atleast things are happening, I feel sorry for what will happen while Emilio is away though. I was thinking that maybe Angel will not like leaving her there with Thelma and suggest she come along. It does not look that way though. Emilio is dumb to leave her there with Thelma IMO. I can only imagine what will happen when they leave we know that noone will protect her not even Maximo. Back at square one sorta.
I also wanted to add that DL and Hugo were just riding along on their horses talking and observing the workers/slaves,when I thought I wish a very deadly poisonous snake would climb up and bite him, then I thought if he dies he will not get to suffer when he finds out the truth and I would rather see that.
Also I hope does not put up with Thelmas crap anymore ut hey we know she will probably coward to Thelma. I hate that. They need to give her a backbone. I hope with this new info she develops one, she is gonna need it. For the first time in a while I actually am really looking forward to tonights episode. I know maybe I am getting a little bit of the sesid, looks like Alina might be finding the cure to hers. YAYY!!
I agree I get caught up with sexy Rod also. I will say this, Has anyone noticed Maximos eyes they are beautiful. He could be handsome but his persona ruined it for me and the mustache. Emilio is sexy but boring puts me to sleep not like Rod. If only Emilio could smile and I loved him in the beginning, now he is a one look kind of man...somber. Come on Emilio show us some sex appeal, take a shirt off something...lol
Anyways thanks for reminding me about Soledad and Santos. Still waiting on Emilio to smile and maybe take his shirt off...
Maybe I should be careful what I wish for eh..
I didn't watch it but I already know most of what has happened.
Emilioooo stood there with his one expression. Orlando plotted to get Alina. Angel coughed. Thelma hissed like the viper that she is. Gaspar was tontito. Don Loco was loco and Don Max was a creep. The end.
Castulo also later went to double check on Gaspar's contention that Thelma was carrying his baby. At first Gaspar denies having said it (because of the promise he made Thelma) but after some prodding, he admits it. Poor clueless Gaspar begs Castulo not to tell anyone.
Alina won't let go of the secret either. She goes to Gaspar and pries the secret from him and we haven't yet seen the result of that. Gaspar spent most of the episode carving little wooden animals.
Orlando, who is turning into a creepy rapist like Castulo is clearly getting more and more wound up about getting Alina in the sack. When Thelma tells him she'll fix it so that it happens, Orlando is all hyper about wanting to know all the details. Even Emilio can see that Orlando is hot for Alina now and makes a speech that she's destined for his brother and he is counting on him "to respect her" while he's gone. They even shake hands on it. LIAR!
Luba and Macario's meeting results in Macario stepping up the curse on Thelma. She brings him some special potion in a bottle which he vaporizes over a flame. At first I thought this whole plotline was dumb since the curse is only that Thelma leave (and be mentally tortured until she does). Thelma was leaving, so big deal. But now Thelma is NOT leaving due to Castulo's blackmail. Instead Emilio is leaving, which means that Thelma will be unprotected, not just Alina. And she won't be able to leave by herself while two witches are cursing her UNTIL she leaves. That oughtta be good!
This whole Loco-Alfonsina-Hugo triangle looks really promising. Alfonsina and Hugo are up to something. They are plotting to either kill or control Don Loco, using Alfonsina as bait. We got an inkling of that even before with old Hugo but now the plan seems to be "en camino." The actress who plays Alfonsina is really good at playing a sexpot. When DL comes riding up, she's squatting on the ground and literally spreads her legs and lifts her skirts for him. Hugo isn't too pleased but clearly Alfonsina has talked him into this plot whatever it is. New Hugo isn't as handsome as old Hugo but he's more scheming which works better for this new development. We get the idea that Alfonsina is not attracted to him because of his looks, but because of the power he has. She seems pretty comfortable using sex as a weapon to control her environment and we get the sense that if she does get her way, it will be her on top (so to speak) and not Hugo. Finally we get a woman who isn't a victim, even if she is a spider. She makes Thelma look like a rank amateur in the scheming department.
As others have said, not much movement on Soledad, dashed hopes for escaping. Elias is now wondering what happened to her and will have to make a decision about springing her or just waiting. Maybe he will stop being so passive after Tuesday night's kiss.
No movement on the Malena/Mariana/Dr. Love storyline except that Mariana is now trying to talk but only making little noises.
Santos and Rosita ?? Not to be mean, but what about a pharmacy dispensing the morning after pill?
Or taco/juice stand with self defense classes for women?
Lynn, this was a brilliant idea. Way to go. You're such a clever girl.
I'm with Tammie, the new Hugo isn't as hot as the old Hugo but we can tell in one second that he is evil, devious, and a much better match for Don Loco than the old Hugo. Good swap. And I'm glad Alphonsina is back. Agreed, Thelma is a rank amateur compared to her. Good recollection from Schoolmarm. Jeanne, I'll bet you've got eyes in the back of your head, too, eh?
And Susanlynn...what can I say? Hiring you as the new writer was our most brilliant move ever. Somebody give that girl a raise, a bonus, and casting calls with Fernando, Rodrigo and Zorro!
(I just read Anya's comment and great idea for Santos and Rosita and yes, we've got to think of something decent for poor Mariana. Unfortunately I have to do some work now. Later...)
Let's really shake it up... change of venue, after Emilio leaves for the city Alina is distraugt, she writes Emilio a letter and tells him everything, only he writes back telling her he knows she is upset but Thelma would never do anything with Gaspar. She cries and cries, some time passes and Maximo upon discovering Santos is really his son and the mean things he did to his own son decides to turn over a new leaf. He sets out to prove his innocence and falls in love with Alina. Alina feels there is nothing left for her and Emilio and took part in watching Maximo change likes him too. Emilio gets word that his Uncle is marrying and returns with Angel who is now engaged to SNS. He asks who is the woman who stole his heart and noone will tell. He laughs saying it must be someone new in town. SA is furious and says she is too old and now has no chance for happiness. Emilio shows up for his tios wedding to Alina. Muy IMPACTADO. Alina says he never believed her and Maximo did and he left her there with him and they fell in love. Orlando swears off woman and is seen in the bordello looking for Granillo, ay papi. Emilio swears revenge on Maximo as he rides off on his stallion.
Susanlynn, in your first post (comment #2) you wrote 'Gaspar' a bunch of times when I think you meant 'Gasca', referring to the new Hugo. Right? I just want to make sure I understand. It didn't make sense for Alfonsina to be making out with Gaspar, though Gaspar would enjoy it for a minute before whining about Thelma again.
"Good recollection from Schoolmarm. Jeanne, I'll bet you've got eyes in the back of your head, too, eh?" You betcha! Ask any deaf kid how much sign language I can read at 100 feet. They shudder when they see me coming across the school yard, and I see "whispers" with my name sign prominent, literally from 100 feet or more. It's so much fun....
Jeanne ;-)
Shelly (back from a mental health break after Dr. Love put his clown nose on the kid's casket).
I just finished reading a book called The Historian where one of the main characters always wore a scarf around her neck because she was bitten by a vampire. Maybe that's Angel's health problem. A vampire subplot could certainly extend this novela another 70 episodes!
