La Fea Más Bella #246 4/4/07 Lety gets fogged, Fer gets dogged, and Omar gets clocked FINALLY SOME ACTION!

Lety to the cuartel: Where did you get that crazy idea? Cuartel: We wanted to give Don Fer what he deserved. L- Now he’s going to think that Aldo and I want to rob him of the business. Well, it’s a half lie. Huh? Aldo asked me to go to Acapulco. I think I will accept because of how bad I get along with everyone else here, Fer, Marcia, etc. The cuartel seems happy that Lety gets to be with Alpo. It occurs later to Sara that it’s not so great, because then she won't be around anymore.
Fer & Omar
Omar wonders what Fer has. He yells at him telling him it’s her diary and he doesn’t want his grubby hands on it. I fell in love with an Angel who only lived for me. Damned ingenious idea to seduce her and then lead her on. Omar is impactado. Fer is completely distraught. The diary chronicles the whole nightmare and how bad we tortured her. I knew I hurt her but I didn’t imagine how bad. She didn’t deserve what we did, she deserves heaven, she deserves that I love her for real. O tells him to calm, what can he do? I want to die. He says, I can’t do this anymore it weighs so heavily on me, and he continues bawling. Poor Fer. OK, if this doesn’t convince Oscar to stop calling Lety the gargolita, seeing his friend this way, he is truly a lost cause.
Aldo is securing a loan for a mil pesos with his house to spend on the restaurant when Lety knocks. He’s happy she came to his office to see him. Up down up down. They sit/stand. She made a decision. Is it good news? Hopefully. Let’s make ourselves more relaxed. Sea, waves, sun, the beach…
I WILL GO TO ACAPULCO WITH YOU. Another “special” hug. Arrrgggghhhh. He’s happy. L-But only to accept your job offer, (not only that if Aldo is within 100 feet of you at anytime, rest assured he’ll be workin’ it every second. - If you doubt that see what comes next.) A-Yes, sure we’ll work together and time will tell what will happen later, and he leans in over her on the desk pushing her backwards almost horizontal. She thanks him, he thanks her for giving him this opportunity that he’s not going to pass up.
She asks him to help her with something, because she has to tell them about the money falling short. He tells her, well, Tomas isn’t finished yet, he knows all the ins and outs and is still working it out, so you can’t give your associates half the information right? She says she wants to close her eyes and be in Acapulco. He says well then we should start packing. She says no way, she has to tell her parents first. He says well then call your parents. She says no wait, I have to do it in person. Beside I have to tell Tomas. She works her way to the door. She tries frantically to get it open. Alpo reminds her to push. She is clearly flustered. Who wouldn’t be after that intimidation and groping. Did anyone else notice that eerie grin he made after she left.
Lety tells Tomas she decided to go. Tomas says he will take care of the balance and she can worry about her other things. She says she is worried about how to tell her parents. Tomas says just tell them and he wishes her good luck. Aldo comes in to make sure that his plan executes. Tomas tells him he just made them “like brother-in-laws.”Lety calls her parents, tells her Mom she’s on her way home to tell them what she decided but she spills the beans to Juli first, who seems happy.
The cuartel greets Aldo and Lety and they are sad because she’s leaving. She tells them not to be too sad because she hasn’t gone yet. But Aldo assures that she will soon. Um, excuse me, but she can speak for herself, and Mr. Aldo, I think you should let her. She tells the cuartel it’s time to think of herself, and it’s a great opportunity. [Funny Alpo has been doing that all along.] They leave, but not before Aldo flirts again.
Marcia and Alicia discuss how weird Fer has been acting. Fer is still locked in his office and hasn’t come out for anything. Mar decides to take things into her own hands and goes running out to his office.
Just then he comes out and she starts in on him asking why he’s like this. She notes that he’s wearing the same clothes as yesterday. [Definitely something that would have been lost on us since we are used to them wearing the same clothes for a week….] Here’s the best part… He very seriously looks at her, with a tear still sort of streaming down his cheek and proclaims, Not now Mar. And shuts her up. He’s still crying and starts yelling. Where the hell are all the secretaries???????? Don’t you guys do anything?
Fer figures out they are in the bathroom so he goes in there and asks the cuartel if they are talking about him? They are talking about who would become president. He confirms nobody’s nude. Juana says to give her a minute. He asks where's Lety? She left. To where? Don’t know. By herself? No with el guapo Alpo.
They continue about how content they looked. He’s very angry. He asks how long ago she left. Just a little bit ago, so he goes out. They discuss his attitude. Irma sympathizes while Sara says he should be felt sorry for. Martha complains that they’ll have to find a new meeting place because now he’s just walking into the ladies bathroom like Pedro into his own home. Juana says, With any luck one day he will find one of us nude!
On his way out he runs into Simon and asks, did you see Lety? Yeah she went out with Aldo and they looked very content, and like spoiled little kids and…Fer cuts him off. Simon worries that he offended his idol.
He goes outside and asks Celso if he saw Lety? He says yes she left with Aldo. Celso tries to comfort his obvious chagrin, but Fer blows him off too.
Fer goes back in and asks PM to get Lety, she says she doesn’t know where she is and he yells at her to get her on the cell phone. He confronts the cuartel again asking them very sternly what the heck is going on, that this is Conceptos, not a tragedy. Irma tells him Lety is leaving. He pulls Martha aside, knowing of her weakness to keep quiet, and she tells him Aldo invited Lety to Aca and for sure they’ll get married there. He thinks that's just swell. He demands again to get connected to Lety.
Alicia laments that Aldo is in love with the Garnacha.
Fer socks it to Omar
He says that nitwit won’t take her away as he goes into his office.
Nope, Omar is pretty thick because Fer’s crying still didn’t enlighten him, he’s laughing at the diary and he mocks a sentence, then tells Fer he’s not completely lost with the gargolita after all.
F -What the hell are you doing? O - I’m reading the famous diary of Lety. Fer asks him how he could dare to do that, and he smacks him right in the kisser!!!!! Omar of course impactado asks him why he’ hitting. F -Who said you could read this? You are messing with the most sacred thing to me. Lety is sacred and you are invading something very intimate. O - What are you talking about, we shared everything about this supposed intimacy and you told me everything, and now you are claiming this is intimate? What is the mystery?
Fer says: You are a pig. You are a rat. You will respect Lety. O counters: Everything that is happening to you is your fault, you’re the one who kept telling me how disgusting it was to kiss her and the horror of taking her to bed with you.
That does it. F throws O out of the office into the frightened cuartel and they end up on the floor. He’s about to punch him again, but the cuartel restrain his arm. Fer says he ought to kill him.
Fine kill me then. Kill me!! But, Omar explains, that Fer is much more of a pig than he is because this is his doing and he carried it out. Fer says that at least he has remorse and feelings about it, but Omar can’t distinguish between the trash and the sacred and that they destroyed a woman!
The cuartel manage to keep them apart until Mar shows up wanting to know what the heck or que demonios, etc. Omar tells them they are washing their hands clean of things, and he hopes sarcastically that beating up on him will help purify Fer’s soul.
Omar ends up leaving, but on the way out he renounces his position and his association with Fer and asks if Fer thinks that hell is just a black hole that swallows up all the sinners, no, he tells him, that hell is here, this is a living hell, and that women are a hell and that he is hell to women.
Oh yeah, kick him when he’s down. That will win you points there Mar. She asks Fer what’s up AGAIN, and he tells her something between he and O. Mar says she knows it’s because of jealousy towards Lety. Marcia tells him that eventually he’ll finally see what’s happening, that he’s lost the battle for Lety and once he’s done mourning about this then he’ll look for her and she’ll be waiting for him.
He responds for PM to pass me that call!!!!
Alitita tells them to get to work and she call them HARPYS!!! Ha how funny!
He goes back into his office and remembers what Omar said and reads again Lety’s thoughts where she is wondering what he is doing and that maybe he’s with Carla or in the arms of Marcia and that she hopes it’s the latter so he’s not taking a new course. He starts to realize that maybe Lety still feels something for him after all and he starts to break a smile.
Lety and Aldo arrive at Casa Padilla. Robopop greets them warmly but wants to know what gives. Just as Aldo is about to tell them why they are there.... saved by the bell. PM calls the cell and tells Lety about everything that just happened and that Fer is looking for her like a crazy man. She says she’s home but don’t tell him. She tells PM to tell him she didn’t answer, oh and go and look for my notebook and don’t let anyone look at it or in it. Aldo tells them that she accepted his offer to work with him in Acapulco.
Fer keeps on reading as Lety tells herself he doesn’t love her. He convinces himself more that maybe she does still love him. He decides “I’m not going to lose her, I’m going to get her back” and he starts smiling.
He searches for PM. F- What happened to the call? What’s the matter? PM - well I’m looking for a book that Lety wanted me to find, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. F- Aha, so then you talked to her. PM -No she asked me for that earlier. Fer tells her lying is a sin that you can pay dearly for. She tells him that he must say that from experience. F-Look me in the eyes and tell me if you talked to Lety. PM -NO sir. F-You don’t know where she is? PM - No sir. Fer says great, MY cuartel is happy about this done deed. Irma worries about them becoming liars.
Back at Casa Padilla, Lety is upstairs with Juli. She wonders what Robo pop wants to say. Why is he talking alone with Aldo? I’m only going for work. Mama asks her if she’s sure she wants to go? Soooorrrrrt offff…….. she says, and Juli asks about Don Fer and the business? Lety says she’s frustrated and she doesn’t think she can do much more for them. Her mom tells her she won’t be really happy until she gets Fer out of her head.
Lety you deserve to be happy. We are going to miss you very much. Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere without my family. Oh stop. Well then you’ll have to convince your dad because he is very used to living here.
Robo has a heart to heart with Aldo. My daughter is my greatest treasure. I like you and all, but it’s not right that she goes alone there with you. Everyone knows that Aca is too much of a huge party town. It’s not right that you take her there. Aldo assures him that he’s only taking her for work and that it’s still a great place. In fact he would like if they all came.
Ali and Mar
Ali tells Mar another subject is buggin’ me. Whose going to be pres? I think it should be you. You are smart and wonderful and all these things, so count on me. I can even be your vice president because of my finance background, and my first task would be to fire the cuartel. Mar interrupts and says, No it should be Fer. Fer is going to learn that the only woman who believes in him and stands up for him is I. Alicia asks her self if it’s close to “December Fools Day” no, not that close.
Fer shows up again asking for PM to find Lety in the next 30 minutes, or else he’s going over to her house. The Cuartel decides Lety needs to be with Aldo, so they are firm in their decision not to tell Fer and they support PM. They all leave. Irma turns back after they leave.
Irma has other plans. She tells him where Lety is, but begs him not to do anything crazy. He says she’s there with Aldo, so how can I not do something crazy? He wants to know why the cuartel that he has cared for so much has turned against him. She says don’t blame them too much, they just think Aldo is best for Lety. He says that’s not true and he’s going to bring her back. Irma tells him she knows how much he, Fer, loves Lety!! She tells him to go get her, but not to tell anyone she told him, especially the cuartel. She crosses him and he thanks her for her charity. She hopes she made the right decision.
Robo says, fine, then his decision will remain pending while the balance is being finalized by Tomas and some other things are wrapped up. Juli says she’ll cook them all dinner. Lety says that’s ok Aldo invited me to the corner Italian restaurant. Aldo says well, all four of us can go. Erasmo starts contemplating Italian food. Lety gives major nudges to her mom. Juli finally gets it and says thanks but no thanks.
We’ll stay because the “kids” have a lot to talk about with each other. Erasmo says but it’s been a while since he had spaghetti with meat sauce. Juli says oh I’ll make it for you just so. Fine, he says as long as you remember your curfew.
Alpo & Lety leave. They talk out front pondering how well her Dad likes Alpo. Alpo wants to know what the call was about. Lety tells him Fer was crazy looking for her. He thinks she should call him. She’s afraid. He tries to hypnotize her again with his little flirty talk about food.
While Juli dumps out spaghetti, Robo tells her he doesn’t like this idea and Lety can’t leave balls in the air. We have a super promise to Humb and we are not going to fail on our word. Juli tells him that he needs to trust his daughter and worry about her happiness for a change and know that she must have a plan to take care of things at Conceptos. Robo says, “How much longer for that supposed spaghetti.”
Robo then decides Moty is his best friend. He takes him upstairs and tells him they are going to watch soccer together. I want to see Moty in a Chivas shirt!!!!
The doorbell rings. They wonder who it could be at this hour. It’s your worse nightmare. Hot Galan on day two of his same clothing with a trash bag in hand. Yum….

Wow!! As someone who likes to peak at the end of a book and know what is going to happen. NOTHING is like seeing it everyday. This was a great episode. How could Lety forget about her committments to her employers? She knows she lost money with the expo so she is just going to leave? And Aldo encouraging her is creepy, sick and wrong. The curtel who was upset about losing a days pay a while ago will lose their jobs for lying to Fernando and when the company closes-what a bunch of idots, thinking with their loins instead of their heads. Alicia and Marcia were pretty usless and Marcia needs to give it up. Fernando never reacted to her like he reacts to Lety. Glad Omar got beat up. He deserves it but I really hated to see the friends break up. And Lety's parents, now Robopop is the only one who makes sense. What kind of parent would let their daughter live with a man in another city- what is Julie a pimp? Overall I loved the episode and glad the action is starting to happen.
btw- I really appreciate the recappers. My husband can't keep up with my requests to "what did they say". You do a wonderful job and if they are posted the same night or a week later- I wouldn't care. I appreciate you all the same.

Aldo is moving in for the kill..Lety is just settling in as commander and chief of Conceptos, and now Mr. Ernest Hemingway & Dr. Phil of Acapulco has come up a plan to get her away from Fernando to be his assistant in some resturant venture?.What has happened to Lety's brain? Her mother's elevator is not exactly climbing to the top,but to allow your daughter grown up or not to go blindly off with a man wanting to get laid is so like pimping as someone said..

Thank you,Fernando for giving it to Omar..Much deserved and a little late.

Lety in Acapulco? When pigs fly. Surely, her parents will come to their senses,or better yet, maybe Lety will get a grip and stop running from Fernando..

Action indeed! Fake blood, sorta fake punches, but REAL emotions! You know Fern is deperate when he chooses Lety over his best bud from childhood.
I'm hoping Fern can get some support from Julieta and Erasmo in keeping Lety home. I would like to take Alpo's man-necklace and slowly twist it until he chokes. Maybe the Seashell of Doom is sending out waves to Lety's brain that cut off her ability to think.

The cuartel takes up 90% of the scenes in this show.Enough is enough of these non productive people, all talking at the same time and running to the bathroom. When they are on the screen,I switch channels.

Lety's commitment? Obviously, that has been forgotten,as Aldo's constant babbling with controlling ideas, Lety seems not to know which end is up. The episode of Aldo bending Lety over the desk made me want to "smack" him. Only in Mexico would one get away with that crap..Ever heard of sexual harassment in Mexico? I guess not..

Very good recap...thanks

Ewwwww that scene in the office..I have been emotionally traumatized since 12/7 when I first saw it...I get all these senior year flashbacks...DryHumping was the term. I can remember many a party..holding a bottle pointing and laughing at the couple, under blacklight. That just was just really really gross, plus I keep hearing strains of "Stairway to Heaven"
See I am so done with Lety...I realize she is a bit sheltered, but comeon...as much as she says she loves Fer, nah I don't believe it, she was too busy all pantin when her back was being snapped...I say go to Aca & good riddance, she is just way too much work. And have you noticed how she talks more babytalk now, to her parents, the cuartel & Aldo..she never talks like that to Fer. I think Marcia should just do a serious smack down on her.

Lety obeyed papa, then Lety obeyed Fern, now Lety is obeying Alpo. Enough, enough with little girl Lety! Good, go to Acapulco with the psychic hypnotist and spend the rest of your life doing whatever he tells you to!!

Lety will have to do a big come around for me to start liking her again.

It's breaking my heart to see Fern suffer. I hope he takes over the company and fires the whole cuartel with the exception of Irmita who seems to be his only friend in the motley group.

Thanks so much K for the recap!

Carrie L.

I know Omar had it coming, but I hate to see childhood friends split up. It seems this is the only way to get Omar's attention though. He is so dense. As for Aldo, grrrr. I wish he would go back to his daisy dukes and the beach and leave Lety alone. Although I am about as sick of Lety as I am of Aldo. Sick of the way she won't give Fernando a chance, of the way she caves in to Aldo's wishes, of the way she is so willing to run off and leave Conceptos in the lurch when she promised to be president for a certain amount of time. Lety's promises evidently mean nothing. At this point the only ones I really like are Fernando, Irmita and Robopop. I even like Alicia better than the others. Julietta gets on my nerves constantly pushing Lety on Aldo. As for the cuartel - what a bunch of busybodies. I wish I could fast forward through their scenes like others do. I would rather watch advertisements.

OMG, that scene with him holding her over the desk almost made me throw up my frosted shredded wheat which I was enjoying up till then. What a complete sleaze ball.

Was that his attempt at being sexy? He reminds me of some guy out of the 70s trying to get the chick to come look at his etchings. eeeeewwww! That alone makes him a two-bagger and I don't care what anyone says. So there!

Fernie carrying around that pathetic hefty bag makes me want to cry. Sandy

What an exciting show. WOW. First - Thanks to the recappers, without you all I'd be lost.

Poor Fern. But please stop crying in the office and go find lety and declare your desires at once! It looks like this will be happening tonight from the previews.

You're all right about Aldo. Creepy-Creepy. And talk about innapropriate office behaviour. He might have been a nice guy at the beginning but something has changed and he seems a little deranged at times. He cannot have our Lety - and yes, even though I'm frustrated with Lety at the moment, I'm still rooting for her and Fern.

Tonight should be good!

Like the rest I can't stand Also, I wish he went back to Acapulco to go fishing or making tacos. How can a man talks as much as he does about pure BS constantly. Yes he is a sleeze bags when having Lety bent over the desk. I wish he would stop hovering over her. Go away Huero! Go Ferni go for the goal tonight!
Mojito

We are all on the same page for once. Lety has become a useless twit, totally incapable of thinking for herself. She is so unlikable it is hard to see how she can redeem herself in the few weeks left. Aldo and the desk was disgusting and her twittering baby talk is like a dentist drill on my nerves. As much as I despise Marcia she at least is willing to stand up and fight for what she wants -something PG guy told Lety she would have to do but which she avoids like the plague.

Fern showed signs of being the perfect husband, looks great, sexy as hell and he takes orders. ;-) When Omar was reading the diary and mouthing off I screamed to Fern "Hit Him" and he did and then when Omar the Dense still didn't get it I told Fern to hit him again, which he did. Somehow the two of them will survive this once Omar realizes how stupid he has been in not getting Fern's feelings but that can only happen if somehow Omar falls in love himself.

I guess the phrase MYOB doesn't apply to the cuartel and their interference in the private lives of their employers is way over the top. They should all be fired just as Oxi said but unfortunately they;ll all still probably be around to dance and stuff their faces at the wedding whoever the groom is. Good for Irma for breaking ranks since she apparently isn't blinded by Also's chicklet teeth and pseudo charm.

This morning Dear Abby's column had a list of the signs of an abuser and Aldo meet more then a few of them.

The worm has turned re: Aldo. I am surprised he'd want Lety to renege on her promise to Don Humberto.
I knew Erasmo would hold her to it, though. Good for him! His word is his word, as a true caballero of the old school.

That Fernando and Omar fight was intense! I am intrigued by Omar's assertion that hell is women. What is that about??
He was right, unfortunately, that Fer shares the blame, actually more, for what they did to Lety.
Hearing Fer say they destroyed a woman, was searing. They did destroy her, so why expect her to rebound quickly and trust him again? I completely understand why Lety doesn't believe Fer. He has to do more than cry and swear his love - he's tricked her before.

Marcia - can we talk? Deluded, desperate...pathetic. You're embarrassing.

It looks like Doña Julieta will come around to Fer's side, or at least believe he really loves Lety.

Favorite "new" word last night:
quisquilloso - touchy, skittish, fastidious.

Marcia,Marcia give it up. Not in a 100 years will Fern be back, other than as a friend. What is it with this doormat behavior of yours?..Have you know pride?

Yes, it's time to lay off Fernando,as Aldo, the magnificent, sits there in his leisure suit soooooo smug and confident that Lety is his one & only. Totally separating Lety from Fernando will not be quite as easy, as you may think. On this show,it's called destiny.

The fight between childhood friends was sad to watch but Omar had it coming and has for a long time. It is time for him to grow u[p and stop acting like a high school idiot.

Fern's pain was difficult to watch and way too convincing. JC consistently does an outstanding job in scenes requiring real emotion. As good an actress as Angelica is she has just been phoning it in lately. Who can blame her - I'd rather work against jamie then Mr. Chicklet teeth myself.

Julieta has turned from caring mother into house Madam with her pushing Alpo off on her daughter. Sure she wants her to be happy but she should keep her nose out of Lety's business and let the little moron grow up. It will be most interesting to see how she deals with the grieving Fern.

I noticed that when Fern went to the office and rooted through the garbage bag he took one of the cards out and left it on the desk. I wonder if it was the one he tried to write himself. In any event I think he is making a big mistake in bringing the diary along and hope he has the sense not to let Lety know that he read it. Yes it is good that he learned how much he had hurt her but it is still a terrible invasion of privacy and one I would find harder to forgive then his previous actions, many of which I knew before I blew the whistle and town.

I teach junior high and at my old school we expelled a kid for doing what Aldo did to Lety, bending her backwards over the desk like that. Granted the girl was not as willing a participant as Lety was and literally bounced the boy's head off a wall in response to his advances (I was proud of the girl, I don't care how un PC that may seem). I want to see Lety or someone do that to Aldo. I don't think Juli would be sending her daughter off with this guy if she had seen that. He's just a slimy Eddie Haskell. Ugh.

I'm highly amused by the game of Pass the President that seems to go on in LFMB. Apparently Conceptos has minority stockholders as well as the family members. There are all kinds of rules on how power in a business has to be transfered but after Humberto put Lety up for the job and she was voted in it seems to have become something of a loose football. Lety is a failure and decides on a whim to rush off to Acapulco where she can screw up another business, Marcia and Oxi dream up a new regime which would never happen once Ariel the snake finds out what it going on. It is obvious to me that the writers haven't got a clue about running a real business.

I do hope that Erasmo comes to his senses and reminds Lety that she has an obligation to fulfill and that she is honor bound to do it. He made a big point of his word and family honor when he talked to Don H and I can't see him letting her actions spoil his reputation, not that the selfish little idiot cares about anything but "being happy" running on the beach with the snake oil salesman.

Actually, I think the writers do have a clue about running a real business. You forget this is Mexico. There are rules, and then there are Rules. The written rules aren't as strict for one, but second of all this is a privately held company and by two wealthy and powerful families at that, who will decide their own Rules.
Regardless of any "legal" government rules about a corporation, if the family wants to change something in it's own firm, it can and will, and no one will buck that. You are living in a dream if you think you'd be able to act any differently. There's always someone else who desparately wants and needs your job and will be loyal to the family until death for the means to support his/her own family.

A public corp may have more difficulty, but unfortunately, money talks and there are "ways" of getting around things on that front too. Again, another thing we are fortunate to have here in the US. Somewhat enforceable protections against coercion.

Did I hear Irma correctly? It sounded to me like she said she was the only one out of the cuartel who didn't like Aldo. Or was it just that she didn't like Aldo for Lety?

Thank you,
Lauren

I too didn't like the desk scene with Alpo. I guess it was suppose to be sexy. I thought instead it was rather threatening.
Lety seems really uncomfortable with those ultra close moves of his.
I would love for Fernando to come in at one of those times and grab Dr.Phil and throw him against the wall like he did Omar!

Carrie L.

I think Irma was taking pity on Fern because she wasn't impressed with the way Aldo handled Luigi. From her perspective, who's to say that Aldo isn't playing Lety the way he played Luigi?

It's interesting to me that Marcia keeps acting as though she's not even a possibility for the presidency of Conceptos. This is the third time the idea has come up and she's dismissed it. She's no less qualified than any of the other contenders, and she's also apparently less likely to do something stupid to screw things up!

Juana cracked me up last night. :) If things don't work out with Lety, Marcia, or Carloca, perhaps he could try his luck with Juana.

Finally, a string of good episodes! Great recap and enjoying everyone’s comments.
I can understand people being at the end of their rope with Lety. I still like her, because I am a sucker for the whole love story of her and Ferni and am hoping for a happy ending. But I have not been too happy with her behavior of late. I don’t know why the writers have chosen to have her regress with the immature talking and mannerism. The cut and run from the Presidency is completely irresponsible. I am not surprised in the least that the chiclet toothed, chicken legged devil is advising her to cut and run. He is a selfish, controlling ego-maniac. He figures now that his all important book is out, he does not need Conceptos anymore, but encouraging the acting President to leave? Very irresponsible. I cannot see Lety going off to Acapulco with this guy. Alpo wants to take her away for the controlling reasons and because he wants to get her away from Fern. Go get her, Don Ferni. And Lety needs to start tearing down that wall she put up and be honest with Fern the next time he pours his heart out to her, which I would like to see happen tonite or tomorrow. I have this week on tape and plan on keeping it because I know I will want to watch Jaime multiple times. God was firing on all cylinders the day He created Jaime. (I can’t take credit for that expression……I heard a radio dj use it, he was talking about a woman.)

Teresa

There doesn't appear to be any attempt to cut the payroll to lower expenses. That is the first tactic here - layoff. They could likely manage with 2/3 of the personnel. Get rid of the cuartel, Alicia and all of the others and hire one competent reception. The rest can do their own typing and handle their own phone calls.

Teresa, I loved your comment "God was firing on all cylinders the day he created Jaime". AMEN to that.

Double AMEN, sister!

A ver...Lety didn't reduce payroll or operating expenses, she didn't keep an eagle eye on Luigi, she redecorated the place, and she sent Luigi on a $$$$$ vacation. No wonder Conceptos is still in deep kim chee.
Re Julieta, I don't think she's pimping Lety. I think she's more realistic about Lety's looks and (chronological) age than Don Erasmo is and just really wants to see her happily married, and as far as she can tell (not having witnessed his creepy side) Aldo's the first decent prospect that's come along.

Lynne..
Why are they paying Tomas? I mean he makes some decent money..but what does he do? Well besides stalking.

Anon 04:01..I gotta agree about Julietta, She saw the deep depression that Lety went thru when the first boy duped Lety, she read the diary..she knows what Lety went thru..and yes in the real world she would never get Fer and Aldo would be a stretch..so I mean Aldo is like a parents wet dream, he smoozes, he says all the right things, he is more than polite, and come on, Lety is such a doof, even if she improved her looks, her mannerisms are just way off (like her mother's)..so Aldo is the best and probably only thing that is gonna come along

The one thing about the Lety/Aldo office scene that sickened me was the way Lety threw her arms around Aldo like a little kid. She couldn't act like a woman..no, that wouldn't do at all. She couldn't be mature and look the man in the face when accepting his job offer. She clung to him and sort of baby-talked. Gross!! I don't see what Aldo sees in her at. all. Lety could have put her arm out and told Aldo to 'back off' with the leaning but she just looked ridiculous bent over backwards. I bet Aldo was just seeing how far she'd bend before she said 'enough'.

Could the return to Acalpulco have anything to do with the beginning of the show where Fernando, Lety and Aldo are in Acalpulco together?

They are working in an industry where appearances are important ... still ....

In such a competitive industry, surival depends on careful management. There doesn't appear to be anything like a strategic plan, budgets ... etc. In real life Luigi would have been given a budget and not simply carte blanche to spend as much as suited him. Advertising budgets are extremely carefully scrutinized in a well-run company.

Conceptos solution to a financial crisis appears to be to add more personnel!

Anonymous 5:13 p.m., you raise a good question. Why does Marcia continue to go out with the tide night after night?

Meanwhile, inspired by George W. Bush's manhandling of Angela Merkel at the G8 Summit, Aldo continues to grope Lety about the arms, shoulder, and neck. Why doesn't he just pee on her to mark his territory?

Rosy Ocampo must have a serious crush on Juan Soler. I can't think of any other explanation as to why Aldo exists, except to get on my LAST nerve!

OOOh Ladies are we on today. I've been laughing and visualizing Alpo peeing on Lety to mark his territory.

A budget? They probably never heard the word. That was always one of my nightmares in the company I worked for as they were always coming at me to reduce my budget to give it to the idiots in marketing who were over budget. The only apparent move they made to save any money at all was to put the poor Bobsey Twins in the same office and made them share a secretary. For all the work that the rest of them do they could have slashed the entire cuartel down to one since I've never seen them do a lick of work and Juana should get her behind back into maintenance and stop spending her time useless polishing a few plant leaves now and then.

I wonder if marcia is stuck in a time warp where she thinks a women isn't capable of running a big company. I remember Don H mentioning that she was the only one of them who really loved the company like he and her father had. I wonder if in the end she will end up with Conceptos and Fern can find something to do that he really loves other than Lety). ;-)

I didn't even see the episode and by the way the talk is going aside from the Fern scenes it doesn't look worth watching.

I can't believe Lety said yes, this so freaking stupid and its like they try to make it like original but then go way out left field to make it not like the original. I dislike remakes.

I've been feeling sorry for Omar all day although he deserved everything he got from Fern. I'd love to know his back story and why he has such a bad opinion of women. I was curious about the woman in the picture by his bed and wonder if he got burned badly one time although Fern has pointed out that he has never loved anyone in his life. I have to admit he has grown on me over time and I'd like to see them bring in someone really hot and smart for him. I keep leaning toward Caro but she has him pretty intimidated. Then again there is always Sara.

In the aftermath of BIG Junta meeting where the truth was exposed about the financial situtation at Conceptos, didn't Fer and Omar "give up" their salaries and are now working without pay? Didn't Fer say he wouldn't accept pay until the co. debt was paid off?
Did Lety decide to pay them something?
It's so hard to keep up with these details!

Anya

As I remember they did offer to work without salaries but Lety told them that she had put aside money to pay everyone's salaries. In view of the mess the wild spending Luigi has caused and her own lack of oversight she might want to revisit the issue. Oops I forgot our useless Presidenta is cutting and running as she always does.

Thanks, Kris, for the great recap and lots of details! Boy, I never expected Fern to turn on Omar.

I just finished editing the High School handbook. There's a big section about harassment and Aldo would have been in my office. Pronto.

anon 7:46 - oh, yeah, I remember now - thanks for igniting my memory cells. Lety put the money aside and I thought that she was on the ball with the finances. WRONG!

Aldo constant presence has distracted her from her job and put too much pressure on her. He's a step away from creating a zombie.
