La Fea Más Bella #257 4/19/07 Cake and Hot Chocolate

I know I’m biased, but I have to agree that Aldo looks awfully smug about the whole “pact thing.” Maybe it’s because he needs a haircut. Maybe it’s Lety’s giant polka-dot shirt. Nope, that’s just plain smug.

Tomas and the cuartel talk about the events of the day, but what Tomas really wants to know is if Marcia authorized Alicia as his secretary. Sara says she has no idea. Tomas sighs and excuses himself to go see Lety. The cuartel delays him and explains that Fernando and Aldo are in the office with her. The cuartel wants to know what’s going on in Lety’s office; Tomas wants to know about Alicia. He asks Lola for her address so he can go see his chick. Lola writes it down.

Lety doesn’t understand about the pact. She asks if they made a pact with Ariel so he wouldn’t come back to Conceptos. Aldo retracts his previous statement and tries to deny there’s a pact. He and Fernando make up some nice sounding statement about moving forward without anyone else interfering with the company, especially unpleasant people. Lety says that if the men are serious, she likes their idea because she’s 100% in agreement. The men slap at each other like two five year old girls in love with the quiet kid in the corner. They proclaim themselves a team. Lety suddenly remembers that she needs to talk to Tomas. She rushes out of the room.

Aldo gets in Fernando’s face and says that Fernando forced him (Aldo) to lie to Lety about the pact. Fernando glares at Aldo out of the corner of his eyes and thinks that a good way to start with the pact is to respect each other’s personal space. Fernando attempts to “wax-off” Aldo, but Aldo’s still there. Fernando thinks that it will be impossible for either of them to never see Lety alone. Fernando informs Aldo that the cave is now his office. Aldo hates this idea; it violates the pact. Fernando says that he’ll be in that office only for work. He wouldn’t think of messing the personal with the professional. Umm…yeah…not so convincing. Aldo re-enters Fernando’s personal space and waves some Aldo air at him. I really hope Juan Soler uses good breath mints. Fernando invites Aldo to bring his desk into Lety’s office in order to see that Fernando has only good intentions. Aldo slaps at Fernando’s hand, but Fernando pulls it away and excuses himself to go get his belongings.

Somehow Lety ended up in the bathroom with the cuartel. Lola assures Lety that Tomas is okay. He’s in Lola’s house with Alicia. The cuartel has better things to talk about. Specifically, they want to know with whom Lety plans on staying. They (minus Irma) insist that Lety decide. Irma is sure that Lety will stay with Fernando. Sara thinks Lety should be with Aldo. Lety tunes them out and remembers her first night as Aurora. Lety comes back to reality and says she’s not like that, but the cuartel dismisses this odd comment and continues to talk about Lety’s personal life. Martha changes sides and comes to team Fernando. Lety can’t believe that the cuartel is discussing her personal relationships.

Marcia follows Fernando and his tree through the Vortex. He tells her that he’s taking his belongings to his new office. He waters his tree and she looks at him like he’s really gone crazy. Once the tree is well watered, he walks into Lety’s office. Marcia asks herself if Fernando has returned to the presidency. She follows Fernando into the office. She congratulates him for recovering his position as president, but he corrects her. He’s going to be Lety’s assistant.

At Lola’s apartment Alicia laments her new place in the world. Someone knocks on the door. One of the kids awakens and opens the door to find Tomas on the other side. Tomas whispers to Alicia that he has good news. He got her job back. She asks about Ariel; Tomas responds that Ariel was thrown out of the building. Alicia thinks she’s going to be Marcia’s secretary, but Tomas corrects her. She would be his assistant. Alicia is impactado!

Marcia can’t believe what Fernando just told her. Fernando says that his perfectly lucid. Marcia thinks she understands because this must mean that Fernando wants to be around Lety. Fernando scrunches his face and explains that all he wants is to start at the bottom. Lety enters the office and Fernando greets her. He explains that he’s moved all his thinks and he’s now at her disposition. Marcia rushes out of the office without saying another word.

Luigi applauds Aldo for the way he handled Ariel. Aldo humbly says that all he had to do was talk to Ariel. Aldo says he wants to talk to Luigi about one of his (Aldo’s) ideas. First, he wants to make sure that they won’t have another little misunderstanding like last time. Luigi agrees that they won’t. Aldo asks Luigi to try to get to know Lety. Luigi can’t believe his ears; he thinks Aldo’s playing with his emotions. It’s just not possible for Luigi to be a friend with Lety! Aldo asks Luigi to do it as a personal favor. Luigi says he will on one condition, it has to do with his position at Conceptos. Aldo explains that he will allow Luigi free reign with his job as creative director. Luigi playfully accuses Aldo of being deceitful, but he begrudgingly agrees to go along with Aldo’s request. Aldo laughs at Luigi’s antics.

Fernando chills out in his new office. He wonders to himself what it would be like if the walls of that office could talk. The ultimate irony is that the real president of Conceptos worked in that very office. Fernando remembers a conversation with his dad from Fernando’s first day as president. It’s when Humberto first introduced Fernando to the cave. Fernando also remembers that this office had many happy memories and some very sad memories as well. He remembers the last time he saw Lety before she left for Acapulco and the confrontation between them that ensued concerning The Letter. Fernando smiles to himself and remarks that after all this time, the office still smells like Lety. He next remembers a conversation with Lety from the day Ha-ash was in the building. He remembers how she cried when she said that she loved him. After that day, Lety left for Acapulco and met Aldo. Fernando recognizes that he lost her forever because of his own fault.

Out and about in the city, Caro and Omar share a lunch date. Omar swears to Caro that he’s in love. He wants Caro to read the card he has in his hands. She asks if the card is for him. Omar replies that it’s for the women who has the key to that dark place where he hid his feelings. (Odd how the writers didn’t have him say no…) Omar continues his speech and Caro looks as though she could just lean in and kiss him at any moment. She pulls away and opens the card. He pulls it away and asks Caro to take it to Aurora and ask Aurora for another date. Omar claims he needs it in order to survive.

Fernando sits in his office, working. Wait? Fernando? Working? Rewind – play. Yup, ladies and gentlemen Fernando Mendiola knows how to type! He has a use other than making the viewer’s hearts go pitter pat! One lucky advantage of the cave – he can overhear pretty much everything that goes on in the main office. He scoots to the door to hear Aldo asking Lety if he can come over to surprise Lety’s parents with a visit. Fernando quickly enters the room and interrupts. He claims he needs to talk to Aldo about something very important. Aldo comes into the cave and the boys spat about the pact again. Aldo doesn’t think he’s violating the pact. He’s not going to be alone with Lety because her parents will be there. Fernando thinks this is a sucker punch and that Aldo is a traitor. Lety calls for Aldo but the men lean out of the office and say they’re working on something important. Aldo leans out and says that Fernando’s agreed that there’s no problem. They lean back into the office and tell each other to suffocate. Aldo leaves the office. Fernando follows and Lety asks him if he’s planning on staying very late. Aldo explains that Fernando has a lot of work to do. Aldo drags Lety out of the office. Fernando won’t even look at them. Fernando comments to himself that Aldo is really “bent.”

It’s night in novela land and there’s a fight a-brewin’. PM can’t believe that Alicia ate everything! Lola wants to know what she should feed her children. Tomas says he’ll get some tortas, but the kids want nothing to do with that. They would rather have tacos. Alicia volunteers for Tomas to go get tortas and tacos. Tomas agrees and asks Alicia to accompany him. She points to herself and says that “all of this” can’t go a buyin’ tortas. Lola can’t believe how abusive Alicia is toward Tomas. Tomas leaves and Alicia plants herself on the couch, in the midst of the children. The show is all about the Mystery Woman and the competition to reveal her identity. PM wants her some Colunga, so she just has to win!

Luigi enters Lety’s office with a cake. He runs into Fernando, who makes fun of Luigi and his cake. Luigi accuses Fernando of being a receptionist and then asks why Fernando is in the cave. Fernando explains that he’s now Lety’s assistant. This gives Luigi a good laugh; he thinks that Fernando is just like a caricature of an animal. Fernando pretends to laugh. Luigi doesn’t know how far Fernando will go. This is why he’s not of the “religion” of women; they’ll make a man crazy. Fernando points out that Luigi was pretty crazy with his obsession over Aldo. Luigi leaves the cake and rudely excuses himself.

Aldo tries to explain to the Padilla-Solis’s why he returned from Acapulco. He tells Erasmo that he bought Conceptos’ debt for Lety. Julieta is impactada! Aldo goes on about wanting the old Lety. Lety’s parents remind her how noble this act is. Erasmo tells Aldo that he’s a fundamental part of the Padilla-Solis family.

Bozo’s upset that her son is going to be Lety’s assistant. Humberto doesn’t think it’s such a bad thing. He understands Marcia’s anger, but Fernando is maturing and Humberto will always support him. Marcia says she never will. Humberto adopts a paternal tone and asks Marcia to change her mind because a disgusted woman is not good company. He wants to know what happened to the old, happy, enchanting woman. Marcia remembers some complimentary words from Fernando. She suddenly smiles and thanks Humberto for the lecture. She acknowledges that she needs to change.

The gang at Lola’s apartment enjoy their food and watch Constantine. PM and Alicia spat over food and that results in PM demanding that Alicia remove herself from the apartment. Alicia thinks it’s a joke. Lola insists that it’s not and says that Alicia needs to leave this instant. Tomas protests, but everyone else wants her to leave.

Erasmo thinks it’s a good idea for Aldo to take Lety out to eat. After everything that has happened they must have a lot to talk about. Julieta thinks it’s a better idea for them to eat at the house, but Erasmo insists that they allow Lety to have some fun. The doorbell rings and Lety answers. It’s Fernando and Luigi’s cake. Lety gapes, Fernando goofily smiles and Aldo scowls. Fernando explains that he brought Aldo’s cake. Julieta thinks that it will be good with some hot chocolate. Erasmo asks Fernando who invited him to the house. Julieta tells Fernando not to worry about it. Fernando thanks her and says that he will of course stay to eat dinner with the family. Fernando thinks it would be a good idea for Aldo to help Julieta since he’s a chef cordon bleu (French for “the blue ribbon”). Julieta and Fernando joke about the words cordon bleu and Aldo scowls some more.

Alicia stands on the corner. She can’t believe that Tomas would bring her to stay in such a hotel as this one! Tomas explains that because of all the tortas he’s currently without cash. Alicia comments that she’s never felt so humiliated in her life; it’s worse then when her ex-husband used her photo for dart practice. Tomas doesn’t know what else to do. Alicia says she’s going in, and Tomas can have a clear conscious. He asks if she wants him to stay with her. No, but she wants him to carry her suitcases.

Back at the Padilla-Solis house Moty decides to make a meal out of the Aurora wig. Downstairs, everyone enjoys Luigi’s cake. Out of the blue, Erasmo brings up the idea of marriage. Upstairs, Moty starts to drag the wig out of the room.

Fernando compliments the hot chocolate, but Erasmo still wants to know why neither of the men are married. Don’t they want to get married? They both say they want a family just like Erasmo’s. Moty comes downstairs with the wig. Lety doesn’t know what to do; she’s going to be discovered. Fernando asks about what Moty’s carrying. Lety rushes over to Moty and says that it’s a doll. She runs back upstairs with the dog and the wig. Erasmo comments that Lety is still very much like a little girl. Did everyone see how emotional she got over the doll? The men agree. Julieta asks Erasmo when he’ll acknowledge that Lety has grown up. Aldo and Fernando interject positive comments about Lety’s innocent spirit. Erasmo changes the subject again and proclaims that he thinks it would be a bad idea for there to be any grudges between the men. You know, about the debt and all. Fernando comments that he really likes Aldo. Aldo says that he like Fernando even more. Lety re-enters the room. Once she sits, Aldo comments that he and Fernando have much in common. Fernando says that they have so much in common that they telepathically told each other that it’s time to leave. Aldo says he doesn’t want to leave, but Fernando insists. Aldo acquiesces. Everyone says their good-nights. The men make nice until the door and then try to rush out at the same time. Erasmo shakes his head and leaves for the kitchen; Julieta heads upstairs to talk with Lety.

Outside, the men spat some more about the pact. They accuse each other of not respecting it. Fernando accuses Aldo of trying to win Lety over with his “angel” face. Aldo says that Lety herself will decide, not her family. Erasmo walks through the house and overhears this conversation through the window. Next, the men argue over who Lety will chose and who loves Lety more. Fernando notices that Erasmo planted himself in between the two men and slyly says that the one who loves Lety the most is her father, Erasmo. Erasmo wants an explanation.

Julieta asks Lety about the doll. Lety says that it was an old one that she got when she was fifteen years old. Julieta advises Lety that she’s worried about the problem with Fernando and Aldo. They could have come to blows. Lety says that they wouldn’t have done that since they’re both civilized. Well, maybe Aldo is civilized. I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the fight outside Conceptos. I believe it was Aldo who sucker punched Fernando in the face first, not the other way around! Julieta understands, but she doesn’t want Erasmo to find out. It will put him in a bad mood. Julieta warns Lety that she must choose quickly.

Fernando explains to Erasmo that Aldo and Fernando are working on a commercial for Conceptos. Erasmo asks them to do him a big favor and leave. Erasmo says good night and goes back to his home. The men spat again. Since Aldo doesn’t have a car, Fernando takes him home.

Erasmo walks around the front room and tries to put it all together. He wonders to himself if it’s possible that Aldo and Fernando were fighting over Lety. At that moment Tomas comes to the door, but Erasmo ignores the doorbell. Tomas leaves the doorstep and cries to himself about this horrible day. He sits on the stoop and tries to figure out how to help Alicia. All of a sudden he realizes that he needs to make a sacrifice, just like Aldo. The problem is that he doesn’t have anything to sacrifice.

Lety and Julieta continue to discuss Lety’s upcoming decision. Erasmo enters the room and overhears Julieta telling Lety that both Fernando and Aldo love Lety. Erasmo catches them and accuses Julieta of being Lety’s accomplice.

About Angelica on Ugly Betty. I did some research and I found out a little information. Angelica will be on the finale of Betty when Betty takes off to Mexico to reconnect with her Mexican roots. There has been no mention, as far as I could find, whether Angelica will be portraying post or pre finale Lety. For those who don’t want to know anything that might happen on Fea, you may want to be careful if you watch this episode. I think it’s supposed to air May 17th. I know I’m thrilled, and I’m sure you guys are too!

Thanks Amanda for the as always wonderful recap.

I am so happy to hear about Angelica on Ugly Betty. Two great shows that taste great together, I mean come together.

I have been getting such a kick out of the terrible roommate, Alicia. It cracks me up.

Ugh!!! I sure wish Aldo would head back to the beach, especially after seeing all our Lety and Fer memories.

Fern was soooo adorable enjoying the chocolate and cake at the Padilla house. When Erasmo asked who invited him, I was reminded of when Tomas comes over.

It was cute watching Fern type. I am anxiously awaiting him to post on unvision.com forum. I think he finished taping his last movie? (I think its a movie) so I hope he posts soon. I check almost everyday and of course I will share what I see.

>>>Aldo re-enters Fernando’s personal space and waves some Aldo air at him. I really hope Juan Soler uses good breath mints.

Aldo was telling Fern I am not touching you. You know when little kids are arguing, MOOOM, he's touching me, No I am not and little Jr's finger is five inches from the shoulder. As for the breath mints I hope so especially with his smoker's breath. Pheww!!

I laughed out loud watching Fern and Aldo together and had to rerun those scenes. They are hysterical.

Am I the only one who wonders why Marcia isn't concerned about her friend Alicia? I know she is a dimwit but she is her friend? Why would she let her brother fire her?

Aldo and Fernando scenes are pretty hysterical. They have more chemistry together than Lety and Aldo, that's for sure. Both boys can be quite childish and it really comes out when they are together. Of course, Aldo acts like he's super mature, but still resorts to the childish antics when with Fernando. IMHO Aldo is just a big phony.

Yeah, Marcia doesn't at all seem concerned with Alicia. But that is how their "friendship" seems to work. They are both so self centered, they can't spare a true thought or concern for the other.

When Moty came downstairs it looked some the wig had been fastened around his neck. I suppose they couldn't get him to carry it in his mouth?

What was with Luigi and the cake? Kind of funny though. Luigi carries the cake, Fernando carries the cake all the way while driving and into Lety's house.
When they were eating it looked like brownies or something chocolate. The cake looked like a pile of whipped cream.

I was happy Fern walked in and made himself a part of the group. The constant competition between Fern and Aldo is fun to watch.

Thanks so much Amanda!

Thanks, Amanda, for a great recap of what I thought was a hilarious episode. I loved Fern and Aldo together last night. Everything they did was funny. I guess I like Aldo when he's interacting with Fern, but only then. Did you notice the look on Fern's face when Moty showed up with the wig? He looked like something was clicking but he just couldn't put his finger on it.

Amanda, thanks for the wonderful recap, and wow, was that fast! I loved all the scenes of Aldo and Fern behaving like our fifth grade boys.

Wow free reign as creative director..HEEELLLOOOOOOOOOO did we not just go through Luigi doing whatever he wanted?

Oh Okay I get it, this way he can get another fully paid trip and vacation..Nevermind now I get it

how interesting would it be if lety and betty were related? that could explain a little more about bett'y pops life in mexico. robopop would'nt mention him because of the scandal.

I still like Aldo and always will. Yep, he looked smug, just as smug as Fernando looked when he was caught kissing Lety. While I'm still wanting Lety to end up with Ferni, I still like Aldo and like that he's trying to fight for what he loves (though I've mentioned before that I don't care much for the in-your-face, bent-over-the-desk stuff either). He won't win, but I like that he's a scrapper and he's in there trying. And though the jacket itself was not so hot, I think Juan Soler looks GREAT in red!

Like everyone else, I also loved the scenes with he and Fernando together. They are too funny. Then again, I also like the scenes with Fernando and Omar... hhmmmm, maybe we should just dump Lety altogether ;o)

Seriously, I don't dislike Lety, I just can't stand that baby voice. Though I wasn't fond of the whole Cinderella storyline at first, I actually look forward to Lety's scenes as Aurora because she'll talk in a decent voice! I'm praying that one of the ways she "grows" is that she starts acting like a woman instead of a small child. Crossed fingers here on that.

Finally LFMB is getting back its comic roots. Sometimes when Aldo and Fern are going at each other I just want to grab them, shake some sense into them and send each one to a corner. One think you have to say about Fern, he is quick on the up take. When Lety or Erasmo walk into the conversation he is fast enough on his feet to change the direction of the conversation. Aldo gets stuck having to react because he doesn't seem to think fast on his feet. The way that cake was being passed around I had a horrible image of someone "acciedently dropping it on either of the galans.

The way Fern babies his tree, watering it and clipping it cracks me up. Reminds me of myself when I get as new plant, all the love and care and suddenly the poor thing commits suicide from over watering.

Just once, that's all I ask, just once I wish Lety would sternly tell the cuartel MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS and stay out of mine. It's isn't for any of them to make the choice between Fern and Aldo.

Have aliens come in an replaced Don H who is suddenly so supportive of Fern when he spent the entire novela to this point calling useless?

Yet again we have Aldo crowding Lety and her moving her seat away until he anchors her by holding her shoulder. It shows a nice contrast between him and Fern who talks to her but is careful not to touch her no matter how much he might want to.

I thought the scene between Caro and Omar was interesting. She has always kind of blown him off and then suddenly wants to know if the card is for her. I see these two moving towards something. He is using her as a confidant and actually seems to see her as something other than another notch on his bedpost. I like the way they look together as well but from the previews it looks like she might go along with Lety in making Omar pay.

Thanks for the recap, Amanda. I did think this was a really funny episode. I loved Fern showing up with the cake and the way he said "cordon bleu". I also think it was real nice of Fern to give Aldo a ride home. I don’t think I would have done it, regardless of him buying the debt. (I guess he sold the motor-bike, too.) Caro looked like she was a little jealous to me. I do think her and Omar would be really cute together. I was thinking about some of the comments I read yesterday and I kind of feel compelled to say, I do hate Aldo. The reasons are not important. I think when people really get into a show, these reactions can happen. It’s just my opinion. I realize and appreciate some people may love the guy. Whatever. We feel what we feel. I think this is a great blog, I would be lost without the recaps, and I really enjoy reading all the different comments. Kind of sad that we don’t have much longer to go.

I don't understand what's happened with Humberto either... the transformation seems to have come from out of nowhere.

I do enjoy watching Aldo and Fern together.

As for Marcia's complete lack of concern for her mooching friend... listen, Marcia, you knew what kind of person Alicia was when you became "friends" with her. You liked her just fine when she had to listen to you whine and obsess over Fern for so many months, when she spied on Fern for you every single time you asked (except for that ONE night when she went to the grocery store instead and almost ran into Fern and Lety)... but you never, ever, not even once, were willing to listen to Alicia vent about any of her own problems except when you were pausing for breath during an anti-Lety rant.

Phew. Okay. Glad I got that off my chest.

Then again, if Marcia were to let Alicia move in, she'd never, ever be able to get rid of her.

Did anyone else think it was significant or interesting that even when Alicia was thinking she'd have to spend the night outdoors (on Wednesday night) she didn't consider calling Tomas? I wasn't sure what to make of that. Too proud to accept his charity? Too dumb to think of it? Regretting that she had already rebuffed his offer? Too repulsed to spend the night under his mother's roof? None of those seem to ring quite true for that character...

Oh well... lunch hour's over, back to work.

("Wax-off"... LOL...)

I think Fern offered Aldo a ride because he wanted to be sure Aldo didn't sneak back into the house after Fern left!

Okay, one more thought.

I don't want to hate Aldo. But I do hate the way he treats Lety like she's his property. At first I thought he was just being protective, but then I felt it was possessive.

It's a real shame he didn't hit it off better with Marcia instead of falling in love with Lety. I think Marcia would like that possessiveness.

I laughed more in this episode than in any of them for a long time. Aldo and Fer "cat fighting" are hysterical, though I see them doing the same schtick with a different focus as Fer and Omar. Either way, these are the best scenes. It's nice to see Lety passive and all this stuff out in the open instead of all this secret behind the scenes crap where someone is fibbing about something and nobody knows the truth. It is so refeshing that they are pretty much openly fighting for her, and thank goodness Robopop is in on the gig now too.

MOTY!!!!!!
MY HEROOOO!!!!!
i KNEW HE'D GET HIS OWN SCENE ONE OF THESE DAYS!!!! I WAS CHEERING FOR HIM THE WHOLE WAY DOWN THE STAIRS!!!!!!

I WANT MORE MOTY!!!!!

I nearly died laughing when after that horribly uncomfortable dinner/dessert/whatever at Casa Padilla and surviving Erasmo's marriage interrogation the two five years argue and then Fern tells Aldo to get in the car and the two of them hop in and drive away. The smallest things in this show are sometimes the most endearing. And seeing those two huff at each and then ride off was one.

A lot of novelas have cooking and eating scenes, unlike American shows where you may have drinking but no one ever eats (got to keep those anorexic bods) but this one takes the cake. I don't think there has been an single episode without someone eating, Marta, Tomas and Alicia of late never miss a meal and everyone else either, eats, drinks wine, coffee or tequila and occasion chows down as well. Whatever they saved on set decorating with Lety and Marcia's awful offices obviously went to the caterers. I could have used a piece of that cake to go with the tea I was drinking while watching the show..

Another vote here for Caro and Omar, Both of them are cute, smart and witty. It will be worth it to see her bring him to his knees.

Aldo and Ferni are even more halarious than Omar and Ferni. Lety has a dream job of having two great looking guys fight for her attentions. I wouldn't be able to get to work fast enough.

Ferni has a mind as sharp as a tack, I believe that he is taking in and storing all of the things he sees in his memory bank. Especially Moty(who looked so precious last night) carrying down that wig.

No one has mentioned it today but Tomas was so sad last night as he tried to think of what to do to help Alicia.

Huh - I have nothing to add - and I so want to write something!

Happy viernes everyone! You all make the novela more fun and interesting.

Did any one notice that Luigi and Fern were laughing at what I believe was an inside joke? Luigi said he reminded him of an animated animal, and Fern made some kind of goofy face. I believe that that is because Jaime Camil played in the latin animated version of "Open Season"cartoon last year.

Go, Moty! I'll bet Fernando will figure out the Aurora masquerade but not let on for a while.
Thanks for the recap, Amanda.

Poor Alicia. She is so self centered that she can't even act right when she really needs someone's help. Even though Alicia was a terrible roommate, I did think it was kind of cold of Lola and PM to kick her out at night, knowing that she had no where to go. I don't think Alicia called Tomas because she has his cell phone. At least its a good thing Tomas really cares about Alicia because no one else could or would. I never did understand why Sarah didn't take Alicia home with her instead of dumping her at Lola's? Is it because Lola has a house?

Caro seems like, "Oh please", when Omar mentions his love for Aurora. Maybe they'll bond during this time of third party intervention and Omar will be so devastated when he discovers his one true love is Lety that he'll turn to Caro for solace. Maybe that would even make him realize how superficial his relationships with women are.

Re Aldo, I think he looks great in that red jacket, too. He's a nice enough guy, just not our Fernando. Most people are going to strongly dislike anyone getting in the way of our Fernando/Lety fix. Aldo didn't fall in love with Lety, he fell in love with the feeling of Lety's love for Fernando. Their kises when she was thinking of Fernando are what made him decide he was in love. I hope he can realize this and go find someone else.

Anonymous 2:09

That was a great catch, noticing the inside joke. I totally missed it! I'm absolutely sure you're right about the Open Season thing. They actually did mention the name of the movie in one of the episodes like two weeks ago, but I didn't catch it until a few days later. Stuff like that makes me wonder if most of the fun stuff is really just the actors doing improv.

I like many others am biased I'm on the Fernando team ...but i have to admit that aldo and fer together last night was HILARIOUS which got me liking Aldo just a tiny bit (I know he will ruin that soon).Juan and Jaime did those scenes prefectly.Ditto on Aldo's possesiveness...Can't wait until someone finds out about Lety/Aurora!!!

Angel

Amanda,

I have a feeling that there is a lot of improv work is going on with some of the cast members mostly Omar, Fern, now to an extent Aldo but always Luigi especially in his scenes with Alicia. Keep in mind that Jamie and Sergio are brothers-in-law or very soon to be. This cast is full of real pros and with some of their off screen relationships they have a great deal of trust with each other. It also helps that this show has been going on for so long that they have all developed a real feeling for their characters and know better than the writers how their alter egos would react.

I forgot... of course, Alicia can't call Tomy from his own phone. D'oh! Thanks Connie!

I don't know what Sara's home situation is, but since she's always threatening to beat up Alicia, maybe they just weren't meant to be roommates.

Moty rocks!!! I hope that fuzzy little actor has a good home.

Anon 1;55

I also caught that look of Fern's when Moty cam down dragging the wig which our careless Lety obviously threw on the floor someplace. The color tipped him off to something and like you I think he will put two and two together long before anyone else does especially, unfortunately the next victim, Omar.

I was so busy laughing at Fernando and Aldo, I didn't even notice the interaction between Omar and Carolina, but now that it's mentioned, she did seem a little interested in him when she asked if the card was for her. Hm... wonder what'll happen there. While he's no Fernando or Aldo, Omar's cute too, I certainly wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers. If she could turn him into less of a jerk, I agree they might make a good couple. Ok, now I'm getting much more into this whole Aurora storyline than I used to be. Break his heart, Lety, so Carolina can pick up the pieces!

I've been so happy since I've found this english recap web site. All of you recappers we take our wigs(smile) I mean our "caps" off to you everyday for the great job you do. I'ts also great to read the comments. Since we all put our heads together we learn so much about the show and stars!!!

The Fern and Aldo scenes were really great--love the ongoing competition. Don Erasmo was funny when he told them to go home. I'm sure Fern did give Aldo a ride to make sure he left. Pobrecito Tomas--he was so bereft he couldn't even button his jacket straight. Fern did seem "click" on the red wig. We seem to be in a faster, better groove right now, except for Lety's wardrobe.

Kim,

I don't want Lety to break Omar's heart. I think to deliberately do so is cruel and would not speak well to her character which is already shaky in my book. I would like her to teach him a lesson however, one that he has coming. I doubt he is in love with her for real, only bowled over by yet another pretty face and one moreover who hasn't fallen for his charm. I think his true love is right there waiting for him in Caro.

You made me lol when you said you could have used a piece of that cake with the tea you were drinking. Our Fer was sure woofing it down. Well he did say he was hungry and wanted to stay for dinner!

I think you're right, Johanna. Lety does seem to have revenge in mind, but realistically, there is no way that shallow Omar can truly be in love with Aurora. He's just fascinated by this unusual woman who doesn't throw herself at him like all the others do.

The disappointment when he finds out the truth is bound to shake him up, but it can't break his heart - either he doesn't have a heart to begin with, or it got broken a long time ago, because it hasn't shown any signs of life in the past year.

Seems to me like the worst Lety could do to Omar would be to awaken his heart so that he can finally feel things. No matter how much it might hurt, at least it's opening the door to better things.

Even if that's not what Lety has in mind. :)

Thanks for a strangely cheering thought!

(That was a sincere thanks, not a sarcastic one. I just realized it sounded a bit snarky.)

I agree with you Johanna, I wouldn't like to see it either (my previous note was more in the way of a joke). I commented when they first started this Aurora storyline that I think it would make Lety more cruel than I'd like her to be. I also agree that his current "love" has strictly to do with looks and not with the person's soul, so you're right that he wouldn't be all that damaged. However, because he HAS been so awful, I wouldn't mind him being taken down just a wee peg or two. So, let's hope instead of breaking his heart, she just sets him on the right path, and that Carolina picks up the pieces (I'm really starting to like the idea of them as a couple in the end). For the first time in a long time I can actually say I can't wait to see what happens tonight.

Ugh, no way. I think Caro should be with Aldo. They have a much more respectful relationship. I just don't see Caro dumming down to Omar's level. Omar needs to be with Marcia I think. He would be accepted by the family and I think Fer would be happy to have his best friend looking after his stepsister/ex-fiance or whatever the heck she is....

remember the engagement ring he picked out for her in Germany....

I would love to see Aldo wind up with Carolina, I just figured there must be something keeping them apart since she knew him before Lety met him and they weren't together. I didn't start watching this until Lety was already in Acapulco, so I wasn't sure what the history was.

I'm not sure I can see Omar ever winding up with Marcia, he knows what she's put Fernando through as far as her jealousy. Still, if both changed...that could be interesting.

I think, after having a couple of failed marriages under her belt, Caro could go into a relationship with a guy like Omar with the right attitude. She can just kick back and have fun with him.

I can't see Caro with Aldo all. She is much to strong and driven for him and he is too laid back for her. They are great friends but i think his endless preaching would drive her over the edge. For awhile i thought of him and Marcia because she always strikes me as needy and obsessive and probably could use a little of his Dr. Philitis . On the other hand wouldn't family get togethers be uncomfortable if Lety chooses Fern. Marcia needs to go back to Europe and find someone that has no connection to Conceptos.

Kris, I agree with you that I can see Caro with Aldo. She seemed really interested in him before she knew he was into Lety. They've known each other for some time, too.

I thought Fern registered something with the red wig, and I also thought he registered something when he was shown the picture of the mystery woman. It was just a flash of recognition, but enough that it made me think he's trying to place something about the mystery woman's face.
