Acorralada #130 Wednesday 7/18/07 Alejandro ("Clark Kent") Salvatierra strikes again
Pedro keeps up the Max charade with Diana, but she is still skeptical. His tale is that when he was in the manicomio, he was the one to be surprised when his new roommate looked just like his grandson Alejandro.
Fedora gets a call from Paco--too late.
Roddy's baby mama goes to the hospital. Her friend thinks she should get money from him.
The wedding completed. (It's another one of those seated weddings. I have been bothered by this for months. They must conduct civil ceremonies like this in Venezuela, but they haven't bothered to change the custom to American.) Everyone claps.
Octy is arguing with Iggy when the phone rings, and it's the ransom call. Panchi wants $300,000. He sleazily calls her "suegrita" (little mother-in-law) too, which given that poor Paola is dead seems really awful on his part.
Diana and Gaby talk to "Alejandro," then Max sneaks in to see the baby. (another reason why his plan is dopey--he's going to stop seing his child?)
By the way, everyone--what will happen to poor Nancy? Now that Diego is out of the picture, is there anyone for her?
Fedora toasts with Coca Cola.
Max is now over at Ishmael's, delivering the dollhouse he promised. Wouldn't you know it, but Fiona is there. They meet, and of course, she thinks he's Max too.
Kike comes into Diana's bedroom, where she's cuddling the baby. She tells him to get out. He is suspicious at her negative tone, so she reveals that Gaby told her a year ago about his rape. (Again with that one-year passage of time--ridiculous.) He threatens her, and the baby, but she says she will kill to defend her baby!
Emilio still expresses doubt about Clark Kent.
The cops come over to discuss the kidnapping. It's not clear, but it seems that Octy called the cops. She is outraged at the incompetence of the prison for letting them escape. In the middle of this, Yolanda tries to tell Octy about the likely reappearance of Maxi, but Octy is too preoccupied and refuses to listen.
Silvia prepares the note that she will push under the door for the lady outside. Larry had wanted to try to break the door down with a chair, but Silvia tells him that is a Lunkhead move and will attract attention of Pancho. She says that everyone thinks pretty girls are stupid, but they are not. What we need now are the trannies to come to the rescue!
Eddy and Fedora have a boring conversation.
Fiona plots out loud about how she will get Alejandro and how he excites her so much since he looks like Max.
Larry later tries to pick the lock.
The lady can't read the note without her glasses. Pancho and Halcon come back in and she accidentally drops the note. There is a moment of tension!
Later she is outside wondering how she can help the poor victims.
Eddy is wooing Diana, but she doesn't want to love again yet. He is just a friend. And besides he's still married (and isn't she also?). Eddy asks if she has something against him because he's Iggy's cousin. I had forgotten that!
Max continues to plot revenge with Pedro. Pedro says it looks more like he still loves Diana as Alejandro--he is now his own rival.
Roddy takes Fedora to bed. This is an incredibly peculiar scene, where he takes off her shoes, and she giggles girlishly. Then they kiss. He expresses love for her and she can't really return the sentiment. He tells her not to say anything. Yech.
Diana is wondering how strange it is that Silvia didn't show up. The phone rings. "Alejandro" calls Diana. She says "Max?" (Even if these people looked alike, wouldn't they have different voices?) No, it's Alejandro.
Credits roll.

This is the baby that had his first birthday at what must have been at least 18 months.
And that pool scene where Paco jumped in and rescued Octavia...those must have been some kind of drip-dry clothes he was wearing 'cause to me they looked completely dry 5 minutes later.
This novela never ceases to amaze!
Here's another thing. I realize that Eddy is worried that Diana is tarring him with the Iggy brush--but he doesn't even know half the bad things Iggy did: e.g., the kidnapping in the jungle, the fire in the manicomio.
Haven't these writers constructed a chart of their story so they don't forget any loose ends?
