Apuntame Disparame--Theme from Amar sin Limites Translation

I'm not recapping but old habits die hard. The other day I found myself looking for the lyrics online to Apuntame Disparame, the theme from Amar sin Limites. Then I tried to translate them. Here is the result. I had particular trouble with /El corazón te roto amor/ which I translated as /The heart you have broken love/ which doesn't make any sense.

It's kind of a depressing song, moody and introspective. Vivame, the song from la Madrastra, which she also did is too--but it was more uplifting. I guess this is supposed to fit the darker themes of ASL.

If anyone wants to jump in and make suggestions, feel free.

La tele apago ya,
La mariposa sin la luz cayo,
Me pasa a mí también,
Es uno de mis límites,
Por cualquier cosa caigo yo
Y escalofríos siento cada vez
Pero decías siempre tu, siempre tu

Yo te he dicho vete,
Siento el perfume de la ciudad
Donde me encierro en soledad,
Este es otro de mis límites
Cuando te pienso, siento que
Escalofríos me dan otra vez
He sido estúpida, y lo se
Yo lo se...
Yo lo se...

No pienses más en mí
Apúntame y dispara,
Tu corazón he roto amor
Dispárame, dispara
No pienses más en mí,
No esperes de mi nada
Tu corazón he roto amor
Dispárame dispara aquí, aquí

Se bien quien soy yo,
Aunque no haya leído "freud"

Translation:

I turned off the TV
The moth falls without the light
It happens to me too
It’s one of my limitations
I fall for all kinds of reasons
And I feel chills every time
But you would say always you, always you

I have told you to go
I feel the perfume of the city
Where I’m enclosed in solitude
This is another one of my limitations
When I think of you, I feel that
they are giving me chills again
I have been stupid and I know it
I know it
I know it

Don’t think of me anymore
Point at me and shoot
Your heart I have broken love
Shoot me, shoot
Don’t think of me anymore
Don’t expect anything from me
Your heart I have broken love
Shoot me, shoot here, here

I know well who I am
Although I’ve never read Freud
It’s my way of thinking
[A way] I could never overcome
This is the only [reason] I’m here
And you are a thousand miles away
And you sleep with who knows who now there, now there

Don’t think of me anymore
Point at me and shoot
The heart you have broken love
Point at me, shoot
Don’t expect anything from me
The heart you have broken love
Shoot at me, shoot here, shoot here

Shoot here, shoot ehhh

Don’t think of me anymore
Point at me and shoot.
The heart you have broken love
Shoot at me, shoot
Don’t think of me
Don’t expect anything from me
The heart you have broken love
Shoot at me, shoot here, here

Yep, it's depressing alright :)

Thanks for the translation. Though it is depressing, if this novela sticks to the basic framework of the story its been adapted from, its dark in many places.

Hey thanks Margaret - and nice to see you again!

Thanks - I would appreciate it if you could clarify this line:

El corazón te roto amor.

I notice that in one place it is :

Tu corazón he roto amor.

Whose heart is broken? To me there appears to be two objects both corazon and amor! I know that in French the reflexive is often used so that one says:

I have broken the hand instead of I have broken my hand.

Thanks!

Lynne, I have no idea what that line is supposed to be. It could have been transcribed incorrectly from the lyrics I found online. I remember there was an issue with the version of the Duelo song. Maybe somebody else can figure this out?

Thanks Margaret. I was curious so looked at various versions on the internet. Some of them put amor on the next line - e.g.

amor disparame dispara aqui ...aqui

So that might be - I have broken your heart. Love shoot me? But then I'm a real beginner in Spanish.

Thanks

That makes a little more sense. Like cupid shoots with an arrow. Only this cupid has a poison dart or machine gun.

It's supposed to be more like "love breaks the heart." The song is originally written in Italian and that's what it means. It's figurative more than literal. Instead of "broken" probably could be more like "tears" or "cracks" too.

Thanks, I like the translation "tear". I have been too involved with Latin :)). Now if this were Latin, we would know which was the subject and object by the endings! These sentences appear somewhere else as:

el corazon te he roto
amor disparame dispara

So if one takes:

el corazon te he roto

by itself, maybe it is : I have torn your heart. I think that "I" has to be the subject as it is "he roto" - I have. Now if it had been "ha roto", the subject could have been amor. As I mentioned I have bad habits because of my background :).

Maybe this is just too easy, but here is how I read that line....Tu corazon he roto, amor"
The comma means that "amor" is used as a form of address for the beloved, and she is acknowledging that she broke his heart.
Makes sense, no?

Here's yet another translation, not completely literal, but I hope captures the idioms:

I’m turning the TV off now
without the light, the moth crashed.
Oh, the same thing happens to me.
It’s one of my limitations.
I collapse for any reason.
I feel chills every time.
You always used to tell me that.
You always did.

I told you to leave,
I feel the scent of the city
where I hole up, alone.
It’s the center of my limitations.
When I think of you I feel that
chills once again.
I’ve been stupid and I know it.
I know it. I know it.

Don’t think about me any more.
Aim at me and fire.
I’ve broken your heart, my love.
Fire at me, fire.
Don’t think about me any longer.
Don’t expect anything from me.
Your heart I’ve broken, love;
Fire at me, fire here . . . heeeer . . heeeer . . .

I know well who I am,
although I haven’t read Freud.
It’s my way of thinking,
a way I can’t get over.
It’s the only reason why I’m here.
You, thousands of miles away,
who may be sleeping with I can’t imagine who.
Now over there, now over there.
