Caray, Caray!

Uh-oh! I watched it, and fortunately, I have not erased it yet. I will go back and fast forward through for some highlights. Frankly, I found it a bit confusing.
 

Que lastima. This is exactly why I spurn technology whenever possible [with the exception of coming to this site and emiling my daughter daily and stuff I have to do for work...I usually push the various forms of giant technology in my classroom out of the way to get to the blackboard, chalk, and eraser...yes, that means that I do not use the Smartboard, Scholar station,etc.]...you cannot trust technology. Anyhoo, all I remember about this episode was Diego with red, droopy eyes and quivering lips throwing back shots of tequilq served by Favio[?]the new dude who has inadvertantly wandered into Silvana's web o doom. Silvana gave Diegooo what I thought was a big , smug hug of consolation. It seemed to be kind of a ''now-you-know-what-it-feels-like-to-lose-someone-you-love'' embrace. These women are not nice people. Don't even get me started on Azul...spoiled princessa of everything. Also, I recall Azul whining to Ceci...I'm not sure about what, but I'm guessing that it was about Evileva and the lovely Diegooo. Abuleo's buddy had some weepy scenes. Mo yelled at Andres , and Andres had that weird sideglancing look on his face . I think he kept saying that he was in Alcapuco and had nada to do with Abuelo's murder. Evileva's creepy guy who combs his hair forward in a type of Roman hairdo was getting in Andres's face and threatening him in Mo's office. That's about all I remember. I only caught the last part of the show because I got home late from a day spent with my Ceci whose name is Carol. Sorry I can't be more helpful. I still understand very little Spanish. I really should sign up for a class.
 

Susanlynn--Once I really needed a summer teaching gig, so I accepted a college English class where I had to juggle an overhead document camera, smartboard, laptop and projector, television monitor and cameras, plus make sure that all this was correctly transmitted to a remote campus 150 miles away, in addition to the students in front of me who demanded attention! Hey, I needed the money. As for Amar Sin Limites I don't follow this novela, because it looks depressing with Old Blue as the heroine plus the galanes look kinda sketchy, but I noticed that the Gran Final is posted over at esmas.com--I could translate it for y'all, and you could forget the whole thing. : )
 

No spoilers here, as you know, but how is it that the gran finale is posted? Has the series already ended in Mexico? Is it that short?
 

The series was shown last year. I won't post a spoiler, but I admit that I checked out all the episode recaps on the esmas.com site and have decided to stop watching this one religiously.

It was annoying me anyway. :)
 

Just wanted to report that I saw Fernando Colunga's movie yesterday. It's fun -- a heist flick. It's like Robin Hood with a Spanish accent. It is in Spanish with English subtitles and is rated PG-13 because of language and some sexual content. I found very little of that, though -- certainly far less than you find in telenovelas these days. The movie features a number of telenovela stars from different countries -- like Saul Lisazo, Miguel Varoni (Colombian), the two hunks from Mexico, Fernando and Gabriel Soto, who was in the Mr. World Contest a few years ago, and Sonia Smith. Saul Lisazo plays an Argentinian living in L.A. who has made his fortune selling phony curealls in informercials on Spanish language TV -- everything from magnetic bracelets to something called "Agua de Vida". Two thieves, Fernando and Miguel, consider him a big-time thief who has broken the cardinal rule of thieves -- don't steal from your own people -- and they hatch a plot and recruit a group to relieve him of his millions. That's all info I'll give you on the plot. I don't want to be a spoiler. Reviewers at both the Chicago papers gave it 3 stars, which is good. Rarely does a movie get more than that. I also saw the previews of two other films that look interesting. Someone who was doing recaps some time ago was a big fan of Kate del Castillo. Kate went to Hollywood to work on "crossing over" into the U.S. market, and she must be having some success because she is in both of these movies. One is called "La Misma Luna", and it is about immigration. Carmen Salinas and America Ferrara are also in this. It is in Spanish with English subtitles. The other is called "Trade" and is about kidnapping and the sex slave trade in Mexico. It is in English and stars Kevin Kline. Both of these movies look good, but unlike "Ladron que Roba a Ladron", they are not light entertainment but heavy drama.

Susanlynn, who knows? If the movie is popular enough they will release a DVD, so you can see it that way.

Ferro, I did more than have stern words with my DVR this week. It was freezing and crashing, giving me recording errors, and I banished it back to my cable provider. I'm happier and I don't care if the DVR is happier.
