La Traicion, Tues., March 25 -people get ready, there's a train a-coming and Hugo's aboard!

Not a lot happened in this episode - just setting things up for the birth that will probably happen tomorrow.

We pass the remaining three month of Soledad's pregnancy. (She barely looks 6 months pregnant, much less 9 months). During this time, the Mysterious Lady (ML) show gets back in business thanks to Paquito. Elena smashes Guillermo's violin and he walks out on her. He is mobbed by beautiful ladies during his performances.

Rebeca scolds Eloisa for having an affair with Paquito behind her back and Eloisa says that once she marries Arturo, she won't see Paquito again. Rebeca warns Eloisa that Arturo is a violent guy and if he finds out she is cheating on him with Paquito, he'll cut her throat.

Arturo refuses to bail Hercu-less out of prison after the tavern fiasco but Hercu-less writes an appeal to Gladis, his mother, and she defies Arturo and hires him as her coachman & companion.

Ester throws Lucas out of her bed and they behave so strangely to one another in the house that Soledad is afraid to ask what is going on.

Dr. Max sobs over a picture of his dead wife and promises that he will succeed in bringing them together again and for this he needs Soledad's baby.

Antonia apologizes to Soledad about supporting Dr. Max's decision to abort her baby. However, once she is outside Soledad's room, the evil Antonia takes over and once again she says that Soledad will suffer unless the baby is taken from her. Antonia suggests to Ester that the baby should be put up for adoption but Ester says that she would never do that to her daughter. Dr. Max overhears this conversation and he tells Antonia that he agrees with her that the baby should be taken from Soledad. The baby will probably have physical and mental problems. If they work together, they can prevent another tragedy. Dr. Max will say that the baby was born dead and Antonia will make sure that he continues as Soledad's doctor. Dr. Max promises Antonia that the baby won't be harmed. If it is a boy, he'll leave it at a seminary. If a girl, a convent. To make sure this happens, Dr. Max has run the other doctor out of town.

Meanwhile, team Hugo is travelling back to the city. Hugo tells Marina that he doesn't love Soledad any more but he has to make sure that his nephew does get buried alive during an attack of catalepsy. Before boarding the train, Hugo dreams about his mother. He tells himself that he is helping Soledad so that she doesn't suffer like his mother did (You might have thought about that before you got Soledad pregnant, Hugo.) Hugo says that he will help Soledad but he won't forgive her betrayal.

During the journey, Boris makes arrangements for a closed carriage to take Hugo to the hotel when they arrive at the capital. However, Dr. Chirac has telegraphed Dr. Max about his arrival. He tell Hugo that he can use Dr. Max's laboratories. Hugo tells Dr. Chirac that that was a mistake. Dr. Max is not trustworthy. This necesitates a change of plan. They will all go to San Marino.

Since Paquito has bribed a person at the telegraph office to give him copies of all incoming messages, he writes a story about the arrival of Dr. Chirac. Rebeca decides she wants to be photographed with him as the ML. Soledad also hears about Dr. Chirac's arrival and she impulsively decides to meet him at the train. She has a premonition that Dr. Sirac is the only one who can help her.

Guillermo takes Margot to the Hacienda and tells Elena that he wants to buy it and that he and Margot are engaged. It's not true but Elena chases them out of the place with a shotgun. Later Guillermo gets a note from Elena saying that he has made her sad and she is going to throw herself in front of a train. Guillermo goes to the tracks and diverts the train from the track where Elena is.

It turns out that there is trouble on the San Marino track and the train won't stop there. Hugo and everyone on the train will have to get off at the capital. Soledad and Ursula arrive at the train station. An employee tells her that Dr. Chirac is not an arriving passenger at that station; he's going to San Marino. Soledad is upset that all their effort was for nothing but Ursula wants to ask someone else at the Station. She goes inside and Soledad sits on a bench. Out comes Hugo cleverly disguised with little sunglasses and they look right at each other.

Tomorrow - Our worst fears are realized - Hugo wears his hair like Alcides! Oh yes and Soledad goes into labor.

Thanks, Jean, for the summary. I was so happy to see the "tres meses despues" sign, and I like the way they use the diary to transition. Saves us from a lot of side story details, so we can get to the heart of the matter. In my experience, many telenovelas get bogged down and boring right about now. I hope this one never does that.

Looks like Paquito did everyone a service by writing the story about the doctor arriving. Hugo's plan was to have Boris and Marina get close to Soledad to try to get the doctor in for the birth, but Soledad already knows about the doctor and is actively searching for him. But they are going to have a real problem with Antonia and Dr. Max, which is probably why "Alcides" has to show up. He would be the only one with the authority to change things, since he is her husband.

Hugo is too cute with the glasses and hat, but it really isn't much of a disguise.

It sort of makes you wonder why Rebeca (aka the ML) would want to be photographed with Dr. Chirac. It does mean that Paquito will be at the train station and might see Hugo, which advances the story because Paquito believed that Hugo was still alive.

Hugo is so cute in his outfit, which someone on TW said looked like Gary Oldham in Dracula. But he is about as inconspicuous as an elephant.

Many thanks again, Jean. Maybe Rebeca wanted a photo with the doc so she could make his acquaintance and perhaps make a new victim. Also, she loves to be the center of attention and it's great free publicity.

Only Hugo (Mario) could pull off looking so good in long hair and those silly glasses...
