Pasion March 18, 2008 Sofia to Rico's rescue in jail; Cami meets Paisana and Chino

EPISODE 68:
* Rico is directed to the patio tunnel area where a guard is having fun splashing the prisoners with a bowl of water. Rico is disgusted and rebels against going inside. Guards try to force him to move in; He starts to fight with the guards. Guards beat him up relentlessly.

* Sofia and Justo are at the cell gate - She's disgusted to hear about the abusive treatment of the prisoners during the patio break. In the cell, Justo helps Rico. Sofia scolds Captain and orders him to get the doctor now.

* Sofia and Justo take Rico to a safer, smaller interior cell.

* Captain meets with Alberto in his home office and tells him about Sofia's appearance in the cell - he can't go against Sofia, she's Jorge's wife. Alberto is furious and scolds Captain for letting Sofia interfere with his plan against Rico. Captain leaves. Alberto grumbles.

* Cami and Jimena walk around the beach and discuss why Rico hasn't returned and Mario will arrive soon. Cami is thinking about returning to San Fernando to help Rico - Jimena also assumes that Cami will visit her family - Cami says and she can try to put an end to the inheritance issue as well.

* Sofia orders the guard to go to the mansion and bring back food and wine and other items for Rico. Rico grimaces from pain. Guards leave to follow Sofia's orders. Rico tells Sofia and Justo that the guards provoked the beating. He needs absolute discretion from them and tells Justo to send a message to Cami - for her not to return under any circumstances, it's a trap set by Alberto. Sofia tries to comment; Rico can't turn his back and break his promise to Cami. Sofia agrees. Rico thanks her, says she's a magnificent lady.

* Alberto grumbles to Jorge in his office about Sofia's interference in his plan. Jorge says the only way to really stop his wife is to kill her. Sofia enters and interrupts - she needs to speak with Jorge in private. She leaves. Alberto continues to grumble about Sofia. Jorge counters with Alberto's stupid plan and impatience against Rico. Alberto grumbles about Rico. Jorge says so what? now you've created even more problems and dangers. Alberto continues to grumble about Sofia's influence over him. Jorge tells Alberto off; Sofia is his wife and he is the governor and Alberto needs to show his respect always. Alberto swallows hard and apologizes. Jorge is frustrated by Alberto. Alberto leaves.

* Higinio is at work outside the mill. Justo approaches to talk with him. Vasco is on the balcony and sees his father. Justo spots Vasco and starts to leave. Vasco runs downstairs and tries to stop Justo. Vasco begs to return home. Justo is still angry. Vasco asks about Rico. Justo tells him that Cami is still gone and Rico is now in jail. Vasco is impactado.

* Alberto meets with Captain about Sofia and Rico. Alberto orders Captain to move his guards around Cami's family's houses - they are to spy on the family's every movement. When one leaves town, they are to follow, catch the person and bring them back. Captain tries to refuse; Alberto yells and demands Captain carries it out.

* Justo and Vasco go to the hacienda. Justo talks with Samuel (his real name, I was calling him Guerrero). They discuss Rico being in prison and getting a message to Cami. Samuel says that Jesus just left to tell the crew. Justo walks towards the gate - Vasco volunteers to ride out and tell Cami the message, to convince her not to return because it is really dangerous. The gates open. Vasco and Samuel leave on horses. Justo walks down the street. Captain and assistant walk out of nearby hiding place and down the street.

* Jesus arrives at Hotel Iguana. Cami and Jimena run outside as Jesus tells Guero and crew that Rico is in jail and Cami should not return. Cami is impactado and in disbelief.

* Cami runs into her room, pulls out her suitcase and starts to pack. Jimena tries desperately to convince her to stay and wait
for Mario (stick with Rico's plan). Cami is too worried and paranoid and is determined to return to San Fernando.

* Jimena runs outside to the beach and tells Jesus and Guero to help convince Cami to stay put as Rico had requested, that no matter what Cami should not leave La Iguana. Jesus agrees.

* On la Salamandra, Mario and Pablo and a crewmate are busy rigging up the ropes on the masthead. Mario and Pablo discuss Jimena, Cami and Rico. Pablo and Mario debate following Antillano's orders and the difference between the crew with no real hopes or dreams for the future and Antillano with a future and fortune. Pablo also mentions that Mario has a future now as well. Mario asks Pablo if he's thought any more about what they last discussed. Pablo turns, pouts and jumps down to the lower deck.

* In the pirate cantina, Paisana cries as she smokes a cigarette. Chino asks why she wants to go to San Fernando. She says she's curious about her son. Chino wonders which one? She says her middle son, Pablo. Chino knows he is part of Antillano's crew and gives his comments. He then wonders about Antillano and Foreman. Paisana says if Antillano and Mario are working together, they are fine but Foreman has his own agenda and if he suspects someone is deceiving him, he will kill. Chino agrees. They discuss plan, and Antillano wanting to retire and following him in leaving the pirate life; Chino says it always seems to end the same way for everyone of them. Paisana doesn't know what else to do besides being a pirate. Chino says she could be with her son. Paisana isn't so sure, her son may slap her and reject her. Chino says they will leave tomorrow.

* Guards take Jorge into the small interior cell. Rico stands as Jorge enters. Jorge orders guard to leave without handcuffing Rico - he's a gentleman for pete's sake. Guard leaves. Jorge sniffs bottle and remarks on Sofia's excellent choice in wine. Rico thanks him for it. Jorge talks with Rico about why Alberto put him in jail and what it will take to release him. Rico suspects that Alberto prepared the trap; Jorge will investigate. Jorge talks to Rico about the confrontation he and Alberto had about each other's true identities. Rico understands. Jorge laughs that Rico couldn't be Antillano, as much Don Gaspar would never have recommended a pirate. That's true, says Rico, any regrets? Jorge says in no way. Jorge will give instructions to the guards that no one is to bother Rico. Rico says thanks. Jorge says if he needs something, send a message. Jorge says when Cami does return, they will protect her, don't worry it. Jorge leaves. Guard talks with Rico - Rico doesn't trust a word Jorge said but the guard thinks it is a good sign, because not every prisoner gets visits from both Sofia and Jorge. Rico sits down, rubs his belly and shakes head.

* Lis and Fran enter the salon before Alberto enters. Alberto helps Lis sit down on the chair. Fran sits on the sofa. Alberto tells them that Rico is fine, just bothered by so much time in prison and tells her that Sofia and Jorge have visited him. Alberto then tells her the message Rico sent to Cami. Alberto is having the houses watched for Cami's return. When she returns, they are to bring Cami in and finish the trial. Alberto kneels beside Lis and asks when they can sign the marriage contract. Lis hesitates and asks Fran for help. Fran comes up with a really good excuse to delay the signing. Alberto is impatient and doesn't want to wait months. Alberto leaves. Lis and Fran whisper and debate about Lis being more concerned about Rico than about marrying Alberto. Fran is disgusted by Lis' belligerence.

* In sitting room, Sofia and Fortunata debate Rico's arrest, Gonzalo, Jorge and Alberto. Sofia says Gonzalo was drunk. Fortunata is stunned by the admission. Sofia explains her reasons. Fortunata tries to give her opinions but Sofia stops her from saying her stupidities. Jorge enters. He just visited Rico. Sofia has Fortunata and Consuelo leave the room. Alone, Jorge and Sofia debate Rico being in prison and Sofia going to visit him. She complains about the lousy treatment of the prisoners and thinks Alberto wants to manipulate the situation in his favor. Jorge wonders why she thinks this? Sofia explains that Lis is in love with Rico; Alberto wants to marry Lis; Alberto is taking his hostility out on Rico. Jorge understands Lis and doesn't think Alberto would kill in cold blood. Sofia mentions that Alberto once admitted to an idea of being disposed to kill someone's child. Jorge has flashback to his conversation with Alberto about killing Rita so Santo and Manuela could get married and have a son. Sofia tells Jorge to be careful.

* Vasco and Samuel ride along the trail at a fast gallop. Guards are following. Samuel and Vasco stop and see the guards behind them. Vasco and Samuel hide behind a large bush and watch the guards pass by.

* Jorge and Sofia discuss the fate of Rico in prison if Cami returns (he will be released) and if she doesn't return (he will remain there). Sofia wonders about Cami's fate. Jorge will order that she be sent to live under supervised house arrest. Sofia wonders if he's serious. He says will do it if Lis agrees. Sofia thanks him. He says he isn't such a bad guy. He kisses her hand and leaves. Sofia thinks for a minute and then leaves to find Consuelo.

* Ines comes outside and tells Justo that Paco is inside in his room and doesn't know what's happening. Ofelia and Rita, holding Ana, walk over. Ofelia is worried and wanted to know the latest news about Rico; she says that Rita insisted on accompanying her. Justo walks Rita to the side and says he really doesn't want to tell her anything due to her attitude towards Cami. Rita tries to convince him that she is really concerned. He greets his granddaughter. Justo briefly talks with Rita and Ofelia about his worries over Cami. Justo walks away to the arriving coach. Rita tries to argue with Ofelia, but Ofelia walks away to the coach and greet Sofia. Sofia walks over to greet Rita and Ana.

* Out on the beach in front of Hotel Iguana, Cami tries desperately to convince Jesus, Guero and Jimena to let her return to San Fernando. Rico needs her help. They insist that she needs to stay there and wait for Mario, follow Rico's orders. Vasco and Samuel finally arrive. Cami is happy to see her brother. Vasco dismounts and walks Cami inside the hotel to talk about what happened to Rico, and Rico's message to her. Samuel talks to Jimena, Guero and Jesus outside. They debate the matter, Jimena tells them that Cami's family doesn't know about Antillano, they all think he's a commercial shipping tycoon. Samuel says that they have to make Cami stay and wait for Mario. Jesus mentions Rico being in jail and Cami knows it.

* Justo, Sofia, Ines, and Ofelia talk in the yard - Justo tells them that Vasco left to tell Cami the message from Rico. Ines adds that Vasco feels very guilty for his part in what's happening to Cami now. Justo is worried about Cami returning and going to jail. Sofia tells them that Jorge said he would work to have her placed under supervised house arrest, and that Rico will go free. Ofelia wonders if they can believe him. Sofia says yes, and it will happen if Lis agrees. Ines says then they shouldn't believe it because Lis is evil. Ines and Sofia debate about Lis and her motivations. Rita quietly listens as she holds Ana in her arms. Justo wonders about talking with Lis and convincing her to think about it.

* In the room, Cami is crying as Vasco gives her the message from Rico and Justo. He works to convince his sister not to return to San Fernando. Vasco feels guilty and says that he should be the one in jail, not Rico. Cami wants Rico to be free so he can gather up the money needed to pay off her debts. Cami laments at all the problems that have come up. She agrees to wait for Mario. Vasco assures her about Rico. Cami says they need to trust him. Cami asks about Justo and Ines.

* Vasco comes outside to the group on the beach. He tells them that Cami has agreed to stay and wait for Mario. She trusts Rico. The crew leaves to prepare for the departure.

* Guard brings a basket of food and wine and a fresh shirt to Rico from Sofia. Rico says good night. Guard leaves. Rico eats in his cell.

* Cami sits in her room, thinking. Jimena brings in a food tray. Cami can't take the waiting and wondering. Jimena assures her about Rico's plan and he knows what he's doing. Cami says it isn't right. Jimena says that maybe so but it's better if Rico is in jail than Cami. Cami isn't hungry and goes to bed. Jimena takes some bread and leaves. Cami can't sleep.

* Rico can't sleep in his cell either. He mumbles for Cami to trust him.

* Cami wraps up some bread in a napkin, grabs her wrap and sneaks down the hallway.

* She leaves Hotel Iguana. She sees the crewmate is asleep by the campfire on the beach. She runs away into the woods. At a good distance from La Iguana, she stops nibbles on her bread and continues to walk down the trail.

* The next day, Cami wakes up under a tree. She scrambles to the road and tries to hail a passing carriage. The carriage doesn't stop. Cami is frustrated as she turns and sees the next carriage caravan coming down the road. She runs over and gets the caravan to stop. She asks the lady (Paisana) for a ride to San Fernando. The lady (Paisana) nods with man (Chino) on horseback and lets Cami climb aboard. With lady (Paisana's) command, the carriage starts rolling again.

* At a rest stop, (Paisana) and Cami start to discuss why Cami is going to San Fernando. They introduce themselves to each other. Paisana is vague about where she's from. Paisana tells Cami that she's going to San Fernando to visit Rico Lopez de Carvajal. Cami is impactado. Cami asks how she knows him? Paisana says for many years. Cami says that he's a, well, he's her husband and he's in jail because of her. Paisana is impactado. Chino orders them to leave.

* Justo visits Rico in jail cell, and tells him that Vasco went to convince Cami to stay away. Rico isn't convinced it will work. Rico needs to plan a way to escape, somehow, someway.

* Caravan arrives in San Fernando and stops near the shop and plaza. Cami climbs out. Paisana tells her to tell Rico that Paisana and Chino are in town and ready to help. they will be staying at the local hotel. Cami leaves. Paisana tells Chino that she is Antillano's wife and he's in prison on another matter. They go on to the hotel.

* Guard brings Rico paper and a quill. Another guard informs him of something. Guard enters the cell and handcuffs Rico; apparently he is to be brought to Don Eustaquio's office.

* As Rico enters the office, he is impactado when he sees Cami standing there, smiling at him.

ADVANCE: Santo and Ascanio meet with Don Pastor and the other Rico Lopez de Carvajal. Rico goes free; Cami goes to jail; and Lis demands that Cami becomes her servant forever.

Well we knew Camila wouldn't stay put LOL. So now Camila goes to jail and Ric is set free and Lis is salivating at the mouth with glee of having Camila as her slave forever. But somehow I don't think Ric will let Lis have her way. And Santi will no doubt use his new found information against Ric. Looking forward to tonights show as the anvils continue to fall.

Thanks, J.R. Well, we all knew that Camila would not listen to anyone and would return to San Fernando when she heard that Ric was in jail. Whenever Ric receives a basket of food and beverage , I think of Alborada and Modesta taking food and wine to Gasca ...that did not turn out well for that hombre. Sofia certainly has Alberto's number and warned Jorge to be careful. The captain should be checking with Jorge before carrying out Al's orders, but I guess the people of San Fer realize that Al is indeed the evil power behind the throne. Will Jorge be able to stop Al in his mission to destroy Camila and thus gain Lis ? Jorge has made a pledge to Sofia and Ric to protect Camila if Lis agrees [Que the hell?..what's the chance that will happen..Lis wants Camila to suffer, and as the saying goes , ''Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.''] I'm worried about the fact that Jorge told Al that the only way to stop Sofia was to kill her. Al would probably be arrogant enough to do just that to clear his path to Lis. And if Lis thinks that she will not have to pay that devil Al his due, she is deluded. I noticed that Pablo Montero [he of the one expression from Duelo de Pasiones] is also in Fuego en la Sangre [muy pronto...but I hope not too pronto because I really don't want our pirateso leave...we waited so long for them to arrive.]

J.R. Thanks for bringing out details of last night's episode that I missed.

Sofia was a real heroine last night. How could Ursula be her daughter? I know, Ursula is Jorge's child, too.

Anyway, I really thought for just one small minute that Cami would stay put. What was I thinking?

Ric didn't seem too eager to welcome her with open arms. These people seem so eager to apply the law that they make up as they go along. Why does Lis have so much to say about Cami's fate? There has also been very little or nothing done about proving the authenticity of the ED letter. LaFont has to go. The sooner, the better. He has threatened or bribed too many people. He will do himself in by threatening Jorge and Jorge's power.

Santi is now another wild card out there. Hurry home.

I knew that Cami wouldn't stay put when Vasco volunteered to convince her not to return. If neither he nor Jimena could convince her not to buy the mill, why should I be convinced that they will talk her out of returning to town now.

thanks mad bess for pointing out the baskets reference to Modesta and Gasca in Alborada. when Santo met the other Rico Lopez de Carvajal, I remembered when at the end of AR, Hannah introduced everyone to Manuel's french cousin, Sister Marie de Larouquet.

J.R. :)

Ugh, Cami, you did what we all expected you would!
I actually had some hopes for her when she agreed with Jime to wait for MMM. But, no, she has to sacrifice herself! On another hand, I hate to see Ric suffer so much and being in danger in this prison not only to be killed by guards in a brawl but just plain poisoned - so no regerets from me for stupid Cami.
The tensions between Jorge and Bouffy getting hotter every time we see them together. On one hand we and everybody else knows what Bouffy is capable of - like magnificient ( I completely agree with Ric) Sofia knows he would kill his own daughter- but my hopes for Jorge getting weaker.
I believe we will see more evil from him!

And thanks J.R. for such a quick recap - it was there when I woke up!

I thought Jorge was being ironic when he said the only way he could control Sofia was to kill her. But Alberto is not someone to appreciate irony and you could just about see the wheels turning in his head.

Camila's life as a servant in a household with Lis, Fran and Clotilde would be pure hell, worse than with Tim except for having to sleep with that crusty old guy.

By the way, there is a nice page on MySpace for Fernando Colunga - the Pasion song will start when you connect:

When is Camila going to reveal that the gold in the chest Lis has is from the inheritance? So take that amount off the bill. I don't blame Camila for coming back to get Rico out of jail. It is her fault he's there.

Clover

Didn't Jorge give a pearl necklace to Boufy after the heist as a "thank you?" I'm waiting for that to show up on Lis' nasty neck ... which would incriminate Boufy.

Oh silly, silly girl. I loved the little gold riding hood look with the sparkles as she munches from her picnic basket. Fernando has quite a ninny on his hands but she is so lovely. I'm glad Paisana liked her and could see through to her good heart.

Remember that Ricardo was in Alborada so he must have been thinking about the Gasca story. Smart. And doesn't the prison seem to be the same as they used for shooting Alborada or is it just that old dungeons all look alike. I wish Monica Miguel had a part in this play too. Besides being the brilliant director of this and Alborada (love scenes like dances, etc.) she is a cunning and ironic actor that I just love to see.

Thanks so much JR for the clear and quickly delivered recap. There is so much for us all to discuss each night, it's wonderful when these are up in the morning to help us drink our coffee or tea and hone our perceptions and reasoning skills! HA! And yes our lusty imaginations too although last night wasn't great in the lusty category. Mario looks mighty hot on that ship, he could be oh captain, my captain.

I know I'm off the topic but I just have to share.
I was reading the transcript of chat with Fernando Colunga on esmas from Feb.15 and he repeatedly refused to talk about his "vida privada". But then it was a question:
coqueta095: En la vida real eres igual de apasionado al estar en la intimidad con una mujer asi como aparece en la novela?
The answer:
Fernando Colunga: Más....

Wow!!!!

Eve from Cleveland: That quote was so hot it burned a hole in my computer!

From lower Ala

Jorge, Jorge! That was so not the thing to say to Bouffant about Sofia! I wonder if he regrets it now that they've discussed Alberto's murderous tendancies? I want to believe that he's going to keep his word, even if only for Sofia's sake (or to get Bouffy's knickers so twisted that he can't run away from the sword-wielding rocks headed his way), but Lis needing to agree is certainly a nice out for him. ~_~

You'd think Ric and crew would have learned by now that if you want Camila to stay put, you've got to lock the door, throw away the key, and put a few dozen guards outside the room anyway.

Thanks JR your recaps are always in the 5 star category. Pirate babe (or anyone), please explain what new found info Santi has to use against Ric. I must've either missed something or misunderstood something.

Oh-yeah, Lis will agree to Cami being under house arrest alright. At her house and in the dungeon level. I can hear her cackle already.

Anon 1:42, it was in the advance (and in the recap) that tonight, Santi meets the REAL Ricardo Lopez de Carvajal. That could make things very unpleasant for the fake RLdC and his not-completely-legally-married wife.

Message to V.V. regarding the derivation of "ramera". Check the Online Etymology Dictionary, www.etymonline.com, and you will find your answer.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Vasco may ultimately redeem himself by paying with his life? Don't know why I feel that way, he just seems a good candidate to bite the big one. I hope not though, cuz he's real purty.

Pablo Montero in Fuego? Gah! I hope they keep his singing to a maximum and his 'acting' to a minimum.

Thanks Cpt. JR! That was a peach of a recap. I love this show.

I colapsed back onto the couch when Santiago was introduced to another RLdC. Why nau.oo.ow?! And WHERE is that monsenor that gave out THAT name why didn't he pick a dead man's name?
THIS is more than TMI for Santiago. He will probably be more obnoxious than gRita getting out the news that Ri-car-do is impersonating someone and is a deceitful bad person. This backs his mission to get rid of Ric and have Cami back.

It's funny, Jardinera - I was wondering if gRita would redeem herself by paying with her life. I don't know how that would happen, but it was an idea that popped into my head when Ofelia told her she'd need to make some act of contrition.

Maybe gRita and Vasco can kick the bucket together!

I suppose Don Gaspar could be implicated too, for having his name on an impostor's letter of recommendation.

I don't think Don G. wrote that letter, though. I remember Ric explaining to him why he chose a false last name but kept his real first name. So I suppose Ric forged the letter with Don G's consent.

We didn't think he was going to get away with that, did we? ;-)

That gives Gaspar some plausible deniability, anyway.

Have you noticed how Ascanio reacted to the news about another RLdC?
I believe he might tell everything to Santi just to clear Ric's "other" name.
Do you think GRita will keep her mouth shut? I have doubts. When she is in her rage against Cami she can do anything. Same as Liz.
I can't wait to see Liz getting "acostarse" con Bouffy.

Eve from Cleveland

OK, we and everyone on the show knew Cami wouldn't stay put. However, this time I think she was right in her impulsiveness. She is much safer in jail than Ric, whatever Ric thinks, especially with Ric's real name about to come out.

As for it being Cami's fault, for buying the mill, yes, but she also spent lots of money before the ED letter ever came about. When it comes to being enslaved, that is not her fault, but Ric actually has some guilt there.

Cami Supporter

I tell you what. If I were Cami, and Lis was successful in making me her servant forever, she'd do well not to EVER eat anything again, not even with a taster. She would get SO poisoned. That's a bet.

Poor Cami. I understand why she did what she did. But just once I wish she'd do what Rico asked her to do. Good God.

Last episode, I was afraid of Bouffy getting the idea to kill Sofia. Holy Hell--is that about to happen??

I felt so badly watching Paisana crying over her son. What mother hasn't done something she wishes she could take back?

Many thanks to Capitana JR!

Cami would never poison anyone, not even Lis.

I can't imagine what she would do, but she wouldn't poison her or do anything spiteful. She would focus on survival and look for a way out, same as she did with Lis's father.

Yeah, cap'n sylvia--that thought did occur to me! Because the hole vASSco is in is SO big and so deep, and he isn't in a villain's role, so... my life for redemption certainly seems to be in the air.

I'm really pissed at him, but that would sadden me quite a bit.

...and anyway, no matter how nice Cami was, Lis would find herself in constant fear of being poisoned or otherwise hurt by Cami. That way, Lis is still miserable and Cami doesn't have to do a thing.

That'd be fun... for us. :)

Ric and Camila are really in a pickle. I think that the only folks who could save them are Gaspar [because he holds such a powerful position and loves Ric like a son] and Santi [if he assumes his position as Jorge's son]. I have a suspicion that Santi will sacrifice himself at the very end to save the onetruelove [Ric] of his onetruelove [Camila] just like Adolfosolis did in Amor Real . ...thereby proving at last that he really loved Camila and put her wellbeing above his own...real love. I think that Lis, Fran, and Al have to die. They seem unredeemable at this point. I hope Vasco doesn't die. He's not really a bad person. He just is not the sharpest tack in the box , and he's impulsive , immature, randy, and irresponsible. Ursula is annoying, haughty, spoiled, insensitive, thoughtless, selfish , amoral, and shallow , but I don't think that she'll die. She'll just eventually turn from being a young ramera into an old prune [her words, not mind]...poetic justice, si ?? When she is an old prune, her daughter will show no interest or love for her just as Ursula showed no interest or love for the daughter while she was growing up. The big wheel keeps on turning.....KARMA.

Yep, Julie--I'm sure you're right. Cami wouldn't be mean to a dog that bit her, much less poison a mean person. It was nice to entertain the thought for a minute, though. :)

(From Anon 1:42) Thanks Julie for your response to my inquiry about what info Santi that he can use against Ric. I may be wrong, but being the Christian that he is, I wouldn't think he'd use the info against Ric. But we'll see. The novela Gods make the main characters into either saints or sinners. A saint can slit someone's throat in cold blood and that's admirable. On the contrary, a sinner can love God but if he also continues to love an old flame he must die.

Mad Bess, I like your prediction on al of the characters and I agree about Vasco ( and he is also very cute! Stupid, but cute.). But what about GRita - she deserves something really bad.

Eve from Cleveland

Anon 5:03, I don't really see Santi as a good Christian but as a hypocritical one. He needs to get the plank out of his own eye before he starts judging everyone else. Not that other people haven't done wrong things, but he doesn't seem to see his owns sins as far as Camila is concerned--wanting to sleep with her before they were married, wanting to have an adulterous affair with her, being selfish about not wanting her to be with anyone else, etc. No way is he going to be nice to Ric.

Cami Supporter

Will the real Ricardo Lopez de Carbajal please stand up? yes, this is going to be interesting ....

I loved seeing LaFont get so aggravated that his hair got mussed! and did people notice that when he picked at Lisabeta's necklace she flinched? This does not bode well for a happy physical relationship!

In re the provision that Camila can, with Lisabeta's permission, live in a house under someone's guard - (1) what makes anyone believe that Lisabeta agree to it (Ines nailed that one! go Ines!) and (2) that if she did, Jorge would let her live in her father's house? after these years of trying to get his, um,hands on her?

Toddson

Thanks for the recap and comments. So much action to think about, so many anvils to watch. Cherylnexmex remarked on Cami's sparkly cape. She did look like a fairy tale heroine asleep under that tree. I was yelling at her in my head--"Cami, nooooo. When you want to sneak out at night, you wear dark unobtrusive clothing, not a gold silk cape completely covered in sparkles!!! You idiota."
She really lucked out in meeting La Paisana, who was rather sweet and sympathetic. I always wanted Cami to take a pirate training course with La Paisana. Jimena's already qualified to be a student assistant teacher.
La Paloma

Forgot to say, Sofia is a magnificent woman and Rick is such a gentleman to tell her so in the midst of his pain and suffering.
La Paloma

Has anyone ever noticed the body language of Jorge? It's sort of a cross between A.D.D. and a 1950's toe-tapping, bebopping stance... and the more nervous he gets, the more obvious it becomes!

The supporting actors in this show are some of the finest I've seen on TV.Right up there with the old Masterpiece Theater mini-series.

I'm wondering if Ric and Cami's love will make it now. He keeps asking her does she trust him? She says yes, but her actions say no. Her running into the fire was driven more by guilt than anything else. Luckily there are many folks who are ready to save Cami from herself. Santi deserves Cami, maybe she'll trust him. Oh, if she only had a brain...
jb-Iron Jack Cash

Ric woke up with the "Cami, trust me!" the same minute she decided to get out. There is some kind of connection between the two lovebirds. Too bad one of the birds should be locked in the cage so she wouldn't do stupid things, Oh, wait - she will be pretty soon!

Eve from Cleveland

La Paloma, I'm all with you on how Ric praised Sofia. Love him even more!

Eve from Cleveland

I think Ric and Camila's love will deepen because even though she went against his wishes by her returning and being jailed that will free Ric to do what he has to do to pay the debt. He can help her better from the outside whereas he really couldn't help her being locked up and especially since LaFont won't stop until he succeeds in killing Ric. So I'm glad that Camila didn't listen to Ric LOL.

Pirate Babe~~~I agree with you. Ric and Camila are crazy in love. Ric will now do whatever he has to do to free Camila and get her back. What a man - what a man -what a mighty fine man.

Julie: concerning GRita the Grouse, the thought has occurred to me that in every novela somebody must be run over, whether by horse and carriage or by car. Now my suggestion would be to have her become so humiliated and/or infuriated once that ripped up letter is uncovered that she runs screaming and crying into the street just as a run away stagecoach comes racing through town in front of the adjacent blacksmith shop. Then splat! Contrite does not compute with people like GRita IMHO. v8 3/

Thanks, as ever J.R.!

As far as Hubby and I are concerned you can lock Cami in and throw.away.the.key! I have NOOOOOO patience with ditzy dames who never want to follow directions and screw it up for everybody else making them work 3 times harder than they otherwise would have to fix the mess they've gotten into on account of said ditz. Obviously there are always men like Ric who like their dames ditzy. I guess it stretches their brains more -both upper and lower.

Sorry, I don't see how Camila made it harder by not following directions. She probably saved Ric's life and now he can do what he has to do on the outside. Ric wants to sacrifice for Cami, but she wants to do the same.

Come to think of it who would Santiago get who wants to hear it?! Whorje doesn't want that box and will do nothing about it. Go 'head Santie, shame yourself ...again. Bring on the wrath of Camilla and Lissabetta!

I did see that, Toddson--Lis flinching really hard when Bouffy touched her neck. As if his touch is as slimy as the looks he gives her. Ewwwww.

I agree that Cami made the right call. I can understand that it's necessary to Ric's self-esteem to protect his beloved, but he needs to be realistic. Lafont threw a big fat monkey wrench into Ric's "plan" when he threw Ric in jail, so no fair blaming Camila. Blame Lafont.

Camila's not an inanimate object, nor is she lazy or unfeeling, so she can't just sit around waiting for him to rescue her every time something goes wrong. She's got some self-esteem too.

I'm sure everything is going to go terribly wrong before it gets fixed up again thanks in part to Camila's actions, but let's face it - everything had ALREADY gone terribly wrong, and the clever plan (which was based largely Ric trusting Lis's word - big mistake) was derailed. That's not Camila's fault.

I can't blame Camila for not knowing that the rules of telenovelas guarantee that her actions will blow up in her face. Nor would I like her much if she dealt with the stress of Ric's imprisonment by giggling with Jimena and putting on nail polish.

Having said that, though, I wish she would be realistic too and realize that she has no aptitude for this sort of thing. That fancy running-away outfit of hers reminds me of the time I went to a company-sponsored paintball outing wearing red.

Ric on a horse...my oh my oh my. A little overdressed but the dimples will compensate.

On Monday we will be cheated again - no Pasion! Guapos for 2 hours again!
We should do something about! Strike?!?!

Eve from Cleveland

Why are they doing this to a successful, popular show?
If they are trying to win over this viewer to the replacement show they need to know it only makes me angry, resentful and distrust them.

Argh, mateys, methinks it's time to draw our cutlasses & make our displeasure known. The plot is BOILING & they put Pasion on the back burner??? Not fair! That means 3 Ric-less days and you know they're going to leave us with a cliffhanger on Friday.

Argh!
