Pasion April 1, 2008 Cami loves Rico, Santo is a pigheaded jerk and Justo isn't living up to his name

EPISODE 77:
* On the Salamander, Mario dismisses Sam and Jesus from the doorway as he enters. Magdalena gives feverish Captain Rico a back massage as he lays on his side. Mario checks and says the fever has gone down. Magdalena agrees. She also says they are almost out of herbs, and says she can't understand what Rico mumbles except for Cami's name.

* Santo arrives at the yard, Justo escorts him to the house.

* Ines runs into the bedroom to forewarn Cami and Jimena about Santo's arrival. Cami is impactado and intrigued.

* Santo and Justo wait in the salon. Cami enters and sits down. Santo and Justo double team her with their plan to send her away for the duration of her pregnancy. She asks if they are sending her to a convent. Santo says no, to another town. She asks for the name. He won't reveal it. She wonders if she's going to prison again. He says no, this is for her own safety. Cami is aghast. He says he doesn't want Rico to return and take her away again. She yells and argues against the idea. Justo goes ballistic, grabs his daughter and forces her into the chair near Santo. Santo has to force Justo to back off. Santo then attacks Cami with his own opinions and jealous insults against Rico's character. She can't believe either of their attitudes.

* Cami runs back to the bedroom, crying. She reports to Jimena and Ines the plan of Santo and Justo to send her away to another town, alone, where no one knows her and Rico can't find her. Jimena and Ines are aghast and upset. Cami will need to be strong, think of her baby and Rico. Cami then cries her outrage over Justo's attitude against Rico, after everything Rico's done for their family.

* Uriel arrives at the mansion's front gate and asks to visit Ursula. He is escorted inside by the guard.

* Sofia, Ursula and Fortunata are having a bridge game in the ladies' salon. Guard enters to announce Uriel is there to see Ursula. Ursula gives her response. Guard leaves. Sofia and Ursula start to discuss Ursula's decision not to marry Uriel. Ursula is adamant and has plenty of reasons not to marry him. Sofia wonders about Ursula's renewed interest in Vasco. Ursula denies it. They discuss. Ursula makes her decision known and she leaves. Sofia supposes Ursula is still hung up on Vasco. She and Fortunata discuss this latest turn of events as nana and Tita play.

* Jimena visits Ascanio at the mill office. Ascanio is working on the accounts. She tells him about Cami's pregnancy with Rico's baby. Ascanio shakes his head. He is impactado to hear Justo and Santo's plan to move Cami to another town to hide the pregnancy and Cami from Rico.

* In the office, Sofia and Jorge discuss Ursula's decision. Jorge suggests that Sofia take care of her daughter, and he will take care of his son. Sofia doesn't like that suggestion, besides she has a serious problem with Ursula's stubbornness. He mentions what he would like to do for Alberto and Lis' wedding. She refuses to comply and leaves.

* Vasco drives the cart up to the mill. He leaves the cart with Higinio as he goes up the stairs.

* Vasco enters the office to talk with Ascanio. He apologizes for his confrontational outburst and accusations against Ascanio the other day. Ascanio understands. Vasco then tells Ascanio about some business deal he's working on for the mill. Ascanio will expect it in two days. Vasco notes Ascanio's mood and asks what's the matter? Ascanio doesn't tell him. Vasco leaves.

* Alberto and Lis talk in the salon about their honeymoon trip. Lis wants to return to La Mariana, and the places she remembers from her childhood. Alberto wonders about her memories of Rico having an influence on her. He changes the subject by telling her that Cami is pregnant with Rico's baby and the plan of Santo, Justo and Jorge is to move her out to a different town to keep the pregnancy and her whereabouts secret. They discuss. Lis wonders what will they do with the baby when it's born. Alberto doesn't really care and kisses her hand.

* Lis runs into the bedroom and blurts out to Fran about Cami's pregnancy and she's been sent into hiding. Lis is excited by the possibility of stealing the baby for herself.

* Cami sits up in her bed and remembers Rico telling her how much he loves and needs her in his life, she's his future. As she rubs her belly, she mumbles "for you and your father, I will do whatever is necessary."

* Lis and Fran argue about stealing Cami's baby for Lis to raise. Fran reminds her that Rico could return and what his reaction may be as well as Alberto could've lied about Rico being dead. Lis cries about her doubts and that this baby is the only thing remaining of Rico. Fran and Lis debate the plan and Cami's agreement; Lis is adamant about her plan. Fran says she has a point.

* In the sewing room, Ofelia and Santo have a heated debate about Santo's plan to hide Cami during her pregnancy. Ofelia vents her frustration and defends Rico's rights as the father of the baby. Santo could care less, he still thinks of Rico as a lying, cheating pirate that isn't good enough to walk the face of the planet let alone be anywhere near his precious Cami. Santo is adamant of his plan. Ofelia tells him he is so wrong and very bad in what he is planning. Santo tells her they will be leaving from Justo's house. He stomps out. She cries.

* In her bedroom, Ursula picks on Manuela and her crush on Ascanio.

* Vasco and Ascanio leave the mill and walk along the path. They discuss Cami and Rico and the family's opinions of him. Vasco says everyone loved and respected Rico. Ascanio sees Manuela and runs over to her. He greets her. Manuela is crying and he asks why? She explains about her father's upcoming marriage to Lis as well as his beatings. She is also frustrated and feels sorry for Cami and Rico's rotten luck. She tells Ascanio that he is her best friend. Ascanio doesn't feel like a friend, because he really likes her, maybe even loves her. They hug. They kiss. She loves him too. They kiss some more.

* Jorge takes his crew (Mateo, Uriel and Alberto) down to the dungeons and into the room where Rico's treasure chests are. Jorge tells them he already took his portion. Now they can distribute the rest fairly between themselves. Jorge is leaving them so he can meet and greet Santo, Rita and Ana. Before he leaves, he tells Uriel to take a double portion. Mateo wonders why? Jorge says for compensation over Ursula dumping him and calling off the engagement. Alberto chides Uriel over being dumped and tells him he should be thanking his lucky stars for the cancellation. They are about to start a sword fight there in the room. Alberto grumbles to Uriel to be glad Jorge still has him running the market.

* Sofia greets Santo, Rita and little Ana in the salon. Sofia mentions need for a nanny. Rita agrees. Santo isn't so sure, they are humble people. Fortunata and Ursula join them in the salon; Fortunata says so are they. Ursula just giggles. Jorge finally enters to welcome Santo and family to the mansion. Sofia and Fortunata escort Santo, Rita and Ana upstairs to their rooms. Ursula talks with Jorge about calling off the engagement to Uriel; he asks her about her ideal husband. She tells him her description; he says, oh, a pirate is what you like. She says not just any flea-bitten vulgar one but one who is sophisticated powerful and more like you daddy. He says men like him are very rare indeed. She says there is one, John Lancaster. He is disgusted by the remark and calls her stupid. He leaves.

* At the hacienda in la Coralina, Paisana debates with the lady of the house about money agreement. Mario and crew carry Rico on his blanket stretcher into the bedroom. Paisana and the lady hammer out an agreement. Rico wakes up. Mario calls out to get him some water. Paisana asks Magdalena to get it. Magdalena leaves with the water pitcher. Mario sits and helps Rico drink from his canteen. Mario explains where Rico is and how they arrived there. Rico's memory is foggy; he asks for Cami. Mario says they left her behind. Rico tries to get out of bed. Mario forces him to lay back down. Mario reminds him about Lis' screams that brought the guards to the house; the violent fighting that left him wounded in two places; Santo and Jorge's orders for clemency for them all. Rico starts to remember.

* Cami says her tearful good-bye to Ines; then Ofelia cries her good-bye to Cami and hands her a basket of herbs to take with her and says that when it's time to give birth, Ofelia will be by her side. Cami hugs Jimena good-bye. Cami asks Ascanio where her brother is, Ascanio says her dad sent him to the mill early so he won't know about the move, Cami glances over at her dad by the coach. Cami tells Ascanio to take care of Jimena and they hug. Cami cries with her good-bye to Paco, who asks about her joining Uncle Rico on his ship - she lies and says yes to the story. They hug. Cami hugs Jimena again and then Justo walks her to the coach. Seated on their horses, Alberto yawns and looks bored; Santo is stone-faced. When Cami and Justo are safely in the coach, the caravan leaves.

* Paco is so upset he runs as fast as his legs can carry him all the way to the mill. Vasco, impactado, runs outside to his son. Paco tells Vasco that they took Cami away from town - to hide her from Rico. He's confused because Cami was crying.

* Vasco runs home; in the yard, he scolds Ascanio and Ines for not telling anything about Cami being taken away, for pete's sake, Ines! she's my sister! Ines and Ascanio explain that Justo ordered them to keep it a secret. Ines is crying and says that Justo said they are taking her to a convent, but she doesn't know which one. She runs to the house. Ascanio defends his position, he had no choice, Justo is his boss. Ascanio leaves.

* In the bedroom, Vasco has a one-on-one conversation with Ines about Justo's plan and Cami. Vasco feels even more guilty now about the letter and Lis getting Tim's estate. Vasco tells Ines he loves her. They kiss. (Kika is singing the background song.) Ines is impactado and pulls away. She reminds Vasco he has to return to work at the mill. Vasco agrees to leave, and will come home early.

* Caravan arrives at the hacienda in Garbancillo. Alberto greets Juliana outside the door. He tells her why they are there, that Don Jorge sent them. Juliana shows them inside. Santo helps Cami down from the coach and to the house.

* In the salon, Alberto, Santo, Cami and Justo are presented to Bartolome and Juliana. Juliana takes Santo, Justo and Cami to the bedroom. Alberto pulls Bart aside to tell him to report in secret to him about Cami. He also asks about Juliana and if she can be trusted. Bart responds.

* In the bedroom, Santo instructs Julian on what to provide for Cami's stay. Santo and Juliana leave the room. Cami is still really upset. Justo tries to explain again. She doesn't want to hear it; she only wants him to promise her one thing - that her baby will always be with her. Justo has no choice but to promise.

* Rico wakes up, agitated and feverish. Pablo cares for his fever and talks with Rico. Rico asks Pablo to take a letter to Cami in San Fernando for him, tell her that he is getting better, that he will come back for her. He eventually falls back asleep.

* In the salon, Santo has to reassure Justo that they are doing the right thing for Cami. Santo tells Justo that Alberto is outside with the local midwife, and that Ofelia will visit and help with the birth of Cami's baby. Santo leaves. Justo sits and thinks.

* Santo returns to the bedroom and visits with Cami. Cami is rearranging things in the room. Santo promises her that he will visit often. She doesn't really believe him. They start to debate about her love for Rico and they both realize that they have become total strangers to each other. (She now loves Rico and he's turned into a jealous, pigheaded jerk.) Santo starts in with his holy-than-thou jealous insults about Rico's character. Cami wants him to shut up and stop it. She defends her love. She promises that she won't escape but she will never give up Rico; she vows that she and Rico will be together again someday - if not in this lifetime, maybe the next.

* In the salon, Alberto watches Justo talk with Auxiliadora about Cami's pregnancy and that Ofelia will be arriving to help with the birth. Santo tries to stop Justo from paying Auxiliadora, but Justo insists - Cami is his daughter and his responsibility. Auxiliadora leaves. Alberto escorts her outside.

* Outside, on the walkway, Alberto instructs Auxiliadora to come to his house in San Fernando and report direct to him about Cami's pregnancy. Auxiliadora agrees and walks away.

* Juliana enters the bedroom and talks with Cami. Cami asks her for a book to read. Juliana agrees to bring her one tomorrow. Juliana leaves. Cami starts to grumble about her dad, then she kneels down and prays for a better life for her baby's birth and the return of Rico.

* Mario and Paisana debate with Rico over his plan to send Pablo to San Fernando with the letter for Cami; it's too dangerous, Mario reminds him. Rico thinks Pablo can do it and nothing bad will happen to him. Pablo agrees to comply with the order; he isn't scared. Rico asks about the next ship sailing to Mexico - Mario responds. Rico asks to be alone so he can finish writing his letter. They all leave. Rico thought bubbles as he writes to Cami about his health condition, where he is, and that he still loves her and vows to return for her no matter what.

ADVANCE: Lis and Alberto are married and Lis has a nightmare of a wedding night, thanks to Alberto. Rico recovers and makes his plans on his return to San Fernando and Cami.

Oh, please, can't we have a little pie cart action for Ursula? Just for my own jealous satisfaction? I know she'd make a terrific haughty jewel-dripping pirate queen, but I just can't stand her!

I'd like to nominate Santiago for Loser of the Day. (Of course, Justo is still our reigning champion for the week - and it's only Tuesday!) Of all the many, many ass-tacular things he's done lately, talking to Ofelia that way has to be the worst. (And by 'talking', I mean, 'Yelling like he's been taking lessons from Alberto'. Is he going to grab her and shake her next?)

And just what was Justo planning on telling Vasco when he came home from the mill? Did he think Camila's own brother wouldn't notice she was gone? Sure, Vasco can be a little thick, but it's not like he's - he's - well, pick a character!

"Hey, Dad, where's Camila?"
"She's...uh...in the outhouse." (Eye-twitch)
"That's what you said the last three times I asked."
"Well, you know women! No, don't open the door; you'll humiliate - me!"

Were Lis and her doll wearing matching dresses? (Have they done this before, and I just didn't notice? Am I turning into Justo's vision of Vasco?)

I think we're all going to have nightmares tomorrow - and yet, I can't wait!

Wow. I'm surprised Mario could concentrate on Rico at all with Busty Mag busting OUT of her confines the way she was. Heh.

I was irritated by Cami going along with the utter bull&#@! surrounding her, but I've been thinking about what you said, Cami-Supporter. She would be worried that any crazy stuff she pulled now might harm her baby. That is Cami. She is sticking up for herself verbally though, and doing a GOOD job of that.

Did you see vASSco's face when he declared his love to Ines? Very sweet. I'm praying for ya, buddy.

It may not have been wise to dump Uriel, dear Whoresula. He was promising. Any remaining prospects for you only go downhill from here, honey.

Hearing Ric's voice again was a treat I have long missed.

At first, I about blew a gasket at Lis having the gall to think she was entitled to Ric's baby. I mean--that is a Special Kind of Stupid. Are you kidding me?? But then... I remembered something that happened in MY town a few years ago, when a guy I knew from way back in high school was accidentally killed on the job (we'll call him "H".) H had been separated from Wife for some years, but not divorced; Wife lived in another state with Boyfriend. H and Girlfriend were living happily with their biological child when he was killed. Wife swooped back into Georgia on her broom, not only to settle insurance issues and such, but to seek custody of H's kid, because he was her hubby and what was his was also hers. We were stunned. But you're not the kid's MOTHER, wench! So there you go. No lie.

Ascanio and Mani lip-locking in public! Talk about not giving a damn about getting locked up! Awesome.

OMG. All that evil crap Lis has been stirring in her cauldron is about to come back on her butt in spades. The Evil Cockscomb descendeth! Oh, it's on! Stick a fork in her 'cause she is done.

LOL @ mad marley!

Oh, Boy! Anvils beginneth to fall. Best part of the episode is the preview: Lis is going to be deflowered the Bouffy way: He's gonna pluck her petals off!! Crazy heffa!

And I'm afraid Santi's gonna die: His mom said he was b-b-b-bad. He'll probably get skewered by Bouffy while he tries to protect Camila, or maybe protecting gRita whom Bouffy whom he has already proclaimed as not fit to be the Senora of San Fernando. The death sentence is not only because Ofeilia said "eres mal" but he's so sickly obsessed with Cami, only death will cure him. Maybe his daddy's genes will kick in and he will try to get rid of gRita so he can have Cami as his "queen."

I'm glad Cami has decided to be strong about this. If this lasts long enough, I could see her fighting keep her baby from Bouffy and Santi dying at Bouffy's hands. Ric whill dispatch Bouffy.

Doh! I usually tape the show and watch the next day because it's been too exciting to be the last thing before trying to sleep. Think I need to go back to that. Late for work!

Evidently, Ursula was disappointed in the test drive. Happy trails to you, Uriel. That's 2 strikes for you [1.Manuela 2. Ursula] Maybe you should observe Ric because all the ladies want him. On the bright side, you can regrow that weird mustache now.

I'm so glad that my Ric woke up and he's putting the plans in motion to get Camila back. I can't wait for him to find out that he's going to be a father. Sanctimonious Santi is really getting on my nerves with his holier than thou attitude towards Ric. He just can't accept the fact that Camila moved on with her life and she loves another man and is now having his baby. I loved that Camila told him that she's never giving Ric up. I also hope InJusto comes to his senses and sees that Ric is a good man. Now that just about the whole town knows about the secret pregnancy LOL Lis wants to take Camila's baby. If she does that Ric will be finished with her for good me thinks. After Mario reminded Ric that it was her screeching that caused him to be hurt I don't think Ric will forget her treachery. Now that she's made her bed with LaFont she now has to sleep in it and pay the piper. From the previews the wedding night will be a night to remember for Lis. Looking forward to tonights show and seeing how things continues to unfold.

OK, this is a telenovela, so our heroine has to suffer, suffer, suffer. But this can't go on much longer. sigh ... at least Camila's current "prison" is nicer than the last few - nice room, no rats, servants, a courtyard (?) where she can walk. And it sounded like they have a midwife in residence, so even if Ofelia can't get there in time, she won't be having the baby on her own.

Vasco - his heart's in the right place; it's other organs he has a problem with.

Rita's in heaven ... or an earthly approximation thereof, from the way she's acting.

Loved the kiss between Ascanio and Manuela - it was sweet, and so overdue!

And Lisabeta's going to have a long, miserable marriage (married to LaFont? even one night would be a loooong time! and that first night's going to be something!).

In the previews, they showed Lisabeta falling out of the marriage bed - think a blow to the head might restore her sight? she'd be able to see the true horror she's married!

Toddson

LisaBUTTA is certainly getting a huge dose of karma tonight (& possibly a dose of something else, since Bouf looks like the kind of guy who enjoys paid pleasures). Can't say I'll feel sorry for her. Her plans to steal Cami's baby? OMG, get a grip, woman. You are so delusional but the amazing part is that Tia FranKenstein sees logic in the plan. Yikes!

Saintly took his righteousness to a whole new level last night. Funny how he doesn't even seem handsome to me anymore...he's just an arrogant jerk.

Ascanio & Manuela...YEAH!!! Here's wishing you the best, although it may be a few more episodes before you can be happily together.

Whoresula wants Foreman...big surprise.

Ric awakens! Must have been my ministrations that you guys couldn't see (I was discreetly off-camera...I'm a little shy). See what a little groping---oops, I meant therapeutic massage---can do for a fever?

;-)

P.S. Mad Marley: LOL!!!

FINALLY Ascanio & Manuela kissy poo!!! Bout doggoned time!

I think the reason Vasco wasn't told Cami was being spirited out of town was that he would have fought tooth & nail against it & Justo knew it. Nice that Justo didn't think how upset little Paco would be. Poor kid.

Cuz Liz is gonna find out she made a pact with the devil himself. Well girl you made your bed now you gotta lie in it.

I had a feeling getting Le Bouffy involved in the Cami situation was not good. He's going behind Santi & Jorge's backs cuz he has his own agenda. I can't wait for the day all his sneaking behind people's backs blows up in his sanctimonious face!

Glad Ric is back. I too have missed his voice (among other things).

And not only did Cami tell Santi-moan-ie that she is never giving Ricardo up, she said I'll be with him either in this life or the next. (Cheering from the sofa!) Yes Camila! Tell him in language he can understand. ...that Santi-monious bleep! And she didn't tell her papa not to touch her but she was very clear about that! (YES Cami! Face-off! Female style.)

Men's night out at the Salamanca bridal boutique, huh? I hope these jewels flooding the market will be just the evidence Ri-car-do needs to prove his case against Whoreje and Al-the Abuser-Boufant.

That mid-wife was pledged to do ANYTHING Bad Al wants, right?

I also thought the reason vasco wasn't told is because inJusto thought he would tell Ricardo. Vasco was talking with Ascanio.oo and saying how Ricardo has been good to his sister.

OOOH! Anvils, anvils falling everywhere! I tape this show but lately I come home from work and just watch it! It's that good!!!

Too bad Lis....you are crazy and manipulative....Bouffy is crazy and manipulative! The perfect pair. Too bad for Lis, she deserves everything she's going to get...even (eeeewww)Bouffy in bed!

Mad Marley....LOL with your descriptions!!!

I think Lis sometimes also has her hair like her doll's too.

The highs are getting higher and the lows are getting lower. Every time something good happens (Ascanio and Manuela!!!!!) something even worse happens (Lafont puts the midwife on the take).

I've noticed that you need to pay attention to the phases of the moon in order to keep track of time. They didn't say two weeks had passed, but when they got to the house someone said she was almost at three months (Monday night she was just over two months). The clue is that in Monday's episode it was a full moon, and last night it was a half-moon. Tricky!

As for Lis's wedding night... much as I despise her, I really winced at the preview for tonight. I'm not sure if I'll be able to watch that scene. (If she does something particularly obnoxious just before, though, it'll make things a lot easier for me.)

I have a feeling the Ofelia will be playing a big part soon. 1) she doesn't agree with Santi & Justo's plan 2) she still thinks Ric's a good guy and 3) I think she's the only one of the "family" that will have visitation rights to Cami.

I wonder if they will be advancing the time soon. I am getting impatient with Ric's slow recovery.

Since the very beginning, I have thought the Ric would somehow get his fortune back from Jorge, but now it is getting spread around. I wouldn't be surprised if Tia Fran recognizes some of the pieces.

Waiting for Ric to recover to kick some serious AssHats.

Excellent recap, thank you. Y'all have said it all.

But, I'll add this - Ascanio smiling and kissing Manuela. That was the highlight of the night. He sure looks better being tender than he did planting corpses in the flowergarden in ASL. Oh, well, it's just a story.

Anyway, the three stooges (Jorge, Santi and Al) have it coming to them. Today, I think Al is the worst. I really didn't like the previews of the bedroom scene with Lis - even though she's meaner than a bad snake.

From lower Ala

I'm STILL MAD at inJUsto! (And I'm watching your aliases pile up Mad __ Bess. LOL)
Last night brought some relief when Camila stopped playing begger at their altar. But I'm having conversations with inJusto still:
You let vAAssco be a custodial parent(?) and you knew him to be unfit! Wait 'till Sophia hears about you! !!! Camila will NEVER thank you, but you will thank her for pulling Sophia off your neck!

Its wintery cold here but I need a FAN!

dh & I sometimes name our choice for the perfect actor for a certain role. Anyone familiar with the John Carter of Mars series? By Edgar Rice Burroughs, the Tarzan author. Great serialized pulp. Heroes, villians, damsels in distress, green 6-legged aliens, the works! The hero, John Carter, is in his 30's, thoughtful, educated, strong of character and strong of will. He would go to H*ll and back for Deja Thoris, the woman he loves. Colunga would be SO PERFECT for the role!

And better yet, because Mars is so hot, all the men wear is a loincloth and a "harness" made of leather straps, to hold their sword and dagger.

Oh, can't you just imagine it? Pardon me, while I spend the rest of the morning imagining it.

Me too, hesitant to watch the brutal abuser's wedding night. A battle is not fair when its guns against spears, and man against unarmed woman.

I am ready for MMM Mario to bring the fire and blood as Ri-car-do use to say.

...hey Mario...they have seperated your sirenita from her bestest friend...and she's got no place to live...go for her...hee-hee-hee.

OH-ohohohooo..While your there Mario, rent a pie cart...just for a good cover.

It may be a good thing that Liz is planning to steal the baby. At least it won't disappear. Liz even convinced her Aunt of that point.
I probably won't watch the Lafont Honeymoon scene. Rape; especially of a blind woman,is a bit much. Maybe I'll have the show on and do a little mending to keep busy while I follow the plot.MHM

I was a little confused why Jim stayed behind. At first they were talking about going together, then after the Sant/InJusto plan, she told Jim to stay behind. Was Cami actually thinking ahead for once? That she might need someone she could trust on the outside...in case Ric comes looking for her.

Thanks for the tip Julie, about reading how time passing is indicated. I was confused about how far along Camila was when the number changed.

I am so dissappointed that Ricardo will not be with Camila to enjoy the pregnancy

yuugggarrrr...it was that inJusto! He forbid Jimena going along with Camila.

I thought Jimena was left behind because Justo decreed that Camila was to be alone in this unnamed town - did I misunderstand, or was that Camila's idea? she seemed distressed at the idea of being alone except for a bunch of strangers.

I don't see how having Camila disappear for, oh, six or seven months is going to keep the baby a secret - back when I was in high school, when a girl "went to visit her aunt" for that length of time people assumed she was off having a baby.

And OF COURSE LaFont has evil plans for Camila and her baby!

Also, when they were in the basement splitting up the loot, didn't LaFont make a rather crude comment about Uriel having a near escape - something about if he married Ursula he wouldn't be able to get through the door because of the horns on his head? Which means Ursula's, um, pastimes aren't exactly a secret. (Is ANYTHING in that town a secret? seems like the rumor mill runs even more vigorously than Justo's mill ... even with a shirtless Ascanio and the other men pushing!)

Toddson

Thank you very much for the fine recap.

Ascanio's kiss with Manuela was so cute. I am glad that she trusted him and that finally this poor girl will have someone to protect her. On the other hand, she could wake up one day and decide to stand on her own feet, emancipate, start a job and be independent but I think that would be too much to ask!

I think that in a sense Justo and Santo are worse than Liz. At least we knew from the beginning that SHE was a snake. On the other hand, does Liz want to take Cami's baby?? Shut my mouth! I mean she must be really - really...something (I can' t translate the word that I am thinking right now!)

I have a question: They send Cami away so nobody will find out about her being pregnant(of course almost everybody knows but nevermind. Cami made her father promise that the baby will always be with Cami. I don't understand what they are going to do with the baby when she's back? Do they plan to keep her away forever? Or perhaps Justo lied to her? I think that I am missing something.

Justo to Santi: Camila's pregnant. But don't tell anyone.
Santi to Jorge: Camila's pregnant. But don't tell anyone.
Jorge to LaFont: Camila's pregnant. But don't tell anyone.
Lafont to Liz: Camila's pregnant. But don't tell anyone.

Time passes. We see an unfamilar man and a woman, close-up on their faces: Camila's pregnant. But don't tell anyone. Camera pulls back. It is the court in Spain, Fernando speaking to Isabella.

Time passes. Two unfamiliar faces. Camila's pregnant. But don't tell anyone. Camera pulls back. It's two eskimoes standing by their igloo.

Time passes. Voice. Camila's pregnant. But don't tell anyone. Camera pulls back. It is two furry green creatures from Alpha Centauri.

Time passes. Woman's face, announcing: Camila's pregnant. But don't tell anyone. Camera pulls back. It is Cassandra, telling the entire Trojan army. But they don't tell anyone, because no one believes her anyway.

We all wonder how liz and be so thick in thinking she can have camiles baby; however, if we go by all the other soaps, the baby will be kidnapped OR Camile will be told the baby died.??? that would stop her from going after the child. Any Thoughts???

That will only work if they don't let Ofelia be at the birth. And I think that is even beyond Santi in his all knowing position of santily-hood to let Alberto steal Cami's baby. But more plausible than the baby died...

plus if Bouffy steals the baby, Manuela would definitely tell someone. She's been on Cami's side the whole time and believes in true love...ahh

Oooohhhh, I think Santihood is so far gone that he will accept even the word of Al the Abuser that the baby died. "It was for your sins Camila".

Now Whoreje has a clearer view of how perverse Al is. But then again, he doesn't want Ricardo searching his territories looking for a missing child AND his new bio-son would be getting an open road to a new mistress. Whoreje could decide to go-along-get-along.

Paula ROTFL!!! That was really funny! I can actully picture the scene : ))

Mad Polly...LOL. By-the-way, didn't Nostradamos predict it too? that the world would be told of Cami's secret baby?

When I was doing the recap the other night I thought of quoting that old shampoo commercial: "I told two friends... and they told two friends... and so on..." etc. but wasn't sure how many people would remember it.

It really is quite hilarious how people in this town think that adding "don't tell anyone" somehow magically protects the secret. But I'm glad Paco has such a big mouth. :) If enough people find out, Justo's excuse for sending Cami away will be moot, and then maybe (yes I'm living in a fantasy world) he'll call off the whole plan.

Here's MY script. Vasco tracks the coach and horse tracks to where they secluded Camila. This is a challenge for him because he's never left the town limits. Thus he redeems himself.

Inez is so impressed with his responsible action she tells him he could possibly be worth hanging on to, keep up the good work.

Just thinking about Santimonious. He has a lot of residual anger against his mother for keeping that secret. He blames her, justfiably, for not preventing the harm that came to Camila in her attempt to keep him away from his biological.

Hey, Cap'n Bonney. I like that! Yeah, Vasco could save the day! I can't imagine Sofia not having a hand in this somewhere, too. But Bouffy, Lis, and Fran have to go. Santi will probably perish at Bouffy's hands. Maybe he offs gRita, Santi tries to defend her and they skewer each other: three birds with two swords. I actually want to spare Jorge. Sofia could keep him in reign with that evil SOB out of the picture.

I note that you're killing off Santi?

Julie, I remember the old shampoo commercial and thought of it while reading the recap and also wondered who else might remember it. It's certainly appropriate because there is an epidemic of loose lips in San Fernando.

I just realized that Ric's letter to Cami is yet another piece of mail that will probably be intercepted by a mischievous person.

I don't think Santi will die, but I wouldn't mind if he got kidney stones or something for a little while. :)

I can imagine Santiago realizing that he's been unreasonable. Perhaps he'll realize just what a rotten person Rita is (her nastiness has gotten lost in the shuffle - it does pale in comparison with Lafont and Lisabeta's, as well as Justo's "what will the neighbors think?" act); maybe he'll marry Fortunata - she deserves something nice.

Maybe LaFont breaks Lisabeta's doll and she takes a broken piece and slits his throat (by feel!).

I keep getting hung up on inconsistencies - Justo's got his knickers (as well as his face) in a twist over Camila's pregnancy, but no one ever seems to think anything of Paco there, big as life (and bigger-mouthed). What happened to his mother? was there a first Mrs. Vasco? if so, we have to presume she's dead. If not ... is he illegitimate? did they find him in the watermelon patch?

And Lisabeta took all Camila's nice dresses and jewelry when she went free ... but she still has the watch and her "wedding" ring. I'd think those would be the first things Lisabeta would go after - family pieces, gifts from Ricardo. Or (1) since she couldn't see them, did she not ask for them or (2) did she realize this was a "when you pry them from my cold dead hands" situation?

Off the subject but when Pasofino mentioned our beloved Ascanio as the Tialovingabuelokiller in AS it reminded me, it's funny how things go unnoticed in telenovelas. Numerous corpses are planted in a flowerbed and not even picnicers or the gardener notices and big old scraps of heavy paper barely covered by dirt are buried under a tree in the center of the yard never surface in the wind or the rain or by curious little boys with big mouths, I think the letter will never reappear and no one will know it existed unless Grita tells but she is enjoying her new life too much. I wonder how will this letter be resurrected or is it a plot line gone awry?

Cap'n Bonnie @ 3:53. I'm the Anon in the note before that one. I don't really want Santi to die, but I wonder (as I also noted in an earlier comment) if he has been cursed by the novela gods: His mom, Ofelia (the only true Saint in this story) said he was bad, "eres mal" and he's so sick and obsessed over Cami he's gonna get in a fight with somebody over her and/or her baby, LaFont or Ric and get his arse skewered. Just sayin'.

At some point, Santiago mentioned Paco's mother to Ascanio. He said she was dead. He refer to her as his "mujer" so she may or may not have actually been his wife.

It would have been quite inconsistent of Justo not to force Vasco to marry that woman, considering he forced Vasco to marry Ines when she wasn't even pregnant.

Speaking of getting married because you are pregnant, wouldn't it save face more for Justo to let Cami find and marry Ric (again)? Or is being married to a pirate much worse than being pregnant without a valid marriage?

I don't really want to see Liz's wedding night, but I must say she so brought it on herself. Not just that she has been evil, but that her actions got her engaged to Al and sent away the only person who would help her (Ric).

Yeah, from the preview the wedding night is going to be pretty bad. Having to submit to Bouffy and then have her crying inconsolably later would be comeuppance enought. For him to slug her and knock her out of the bed and then rape her. . .yah, beyond politically incorrect. That's probably what he's gonna do and assures his getting impaled or decapitated: the ugly side of novelas.

Well, for the wedding night, I think LaFont wants her awake and unhappy. He seems to get as much pleasure out of mental torture as physical (remember when he locked Manuela in the wardrobe?).

I almost feel sorry for Lisabeta - she was trying to play games with the wrong person. Not only was she waaaay out of her league, but he's not playing. (And he probably never did play well with others - imagine his school reports when he was a kid!) Yes, she brought it on herself, with the help of Aunt Francisca, but the payback is going to be a bitch.

Off and on I'd wondered about why LaFont didn't try for marriage with Ursula; on reflection, I don't imagine her father would allow her to be seriously abused, and LaFont wouldn't put up with her sleeping with other men. Ursula probably would run away to a convent rather than marry him, too.

So ... when will Justo have another stroke? all this stress ... and his face really is twitching.

I agree with you about Bouffy but I meant knock her physically out of the bed, not unconscious. Bouffy is a piece of work all right. Maybe the writers will have Lis really get her hands on Ric's baby to wash any residual pity away!

I'm a'thinking:

Le Bouffy and Lis will successfully take Cami's baby. Cami and Ric will have to search to the four corners of the earth before finding Antillano Jr. (unless they're led to believe the child is dead, in which case the search will be delayed.)

Santi will end up sacrificing himself to protect Cami, or Cami and Ric, from Le Bouffant's machinations, when what should happen is: he be changed by the power of Ric and Cami's love, and his own love for Ana, and go on with his life to make things better for the town. (He'll probably end up dead to appease the Telenovela Gods who love that kind of thing, you know, you're constantly shafted for the duration of the show until you are a raving lunatic and then you die *coughGASPAR/DUELOcough*)

The GritEater will lose everything she has or has ever had, due to either the buried letter or some other anvil. She will spend the rest of her days wandering the outskirts of town alone, like a kid who can only look in the candy story window but isn't allowed in.

Ascanio will be in grave danger from Le Bouffant's wrath, as will Mani. A real tragedy could come about here, with Mani being the victim. I'm surprised the raging Bouffy hasn't already accidentally killed the girl, frankly.

Vasco will redeem himself by helping with the Cami/Ric situation, and get back into nookie-bliss with Ines. Paco will get a new sibling.

Jorge and Sofia may not make it out of this alive--again, Le Bouffant the Terrible.

Lis (and dolly) will end up committed to an asylum, listening to non-existant music in her head. Fran will end up haunting the outskirts of town with GRita, not welcome anywhere.

Whoresula will find the adventure and high-maintenance sex she needs on the high seas, with Foreman. She'll look right at home on deck, posing next to a big sturdy mast (the ship's, or Foreman's :) Being a fine lady married to a fine gentleman just won't make her happy--she needs the outrageous.

The stress Justo keeps putting on his stupid self may just end up doing him in. Bye-bye.

MMMario and Jime actually become legal. *squeallllllllll* They and Cami and Ric and AJ end up loving on the high seas, island hopping, and happy far away from SF.

Pablo and Paisana work things out and happily reunite--hopefully before one of them is mortally wounded.

If Santi survives and either Jorge or Sofi doesn't, that would make room at the palace for Ofi.

The twins will each get their own busty wench or nice SF girl, which will make them swing those hammers harder on the job. (Frankly, I'd rather they just end up on either side of my four-poster, like bookends. Sorry, Ric... but they're TWINS, man!)

Definitely Must Die A Bad Death, no matter what List: Bouffant.

Even with all that, I know I'm missing someone... help me out, y'all.

LOL @ Julie!! (kidney stones)

WHO could Ascanio's lost sister be? Who in the town doesn't have a definite past?

I have had it with Don InJusto. I want to wish him away into the cornfield.

LOL cornfield!!

At the mill, Vasco and Ascanio have been talking (not as a plot point) about a Don Fernando who wants to mill a lot of corn.

There's no point in wishing Justo away to the cornfield if his own best customer is going to find him and brings him home.

DQ of CCCCCCC - I forgot about Ascanio's sister. Maybe she's one of the ladies of Garbanzoville where Cami is staying.

I would think that Ascanio would know her if he saw her, so I don't think it's someone in SF.

Or maybe she's Magdalena, the pirate-wench.

I still don't think there's any reason to believe Santi will die, even if Ofelia did tell him he's bad. Parents chastise their children all the time - and this isn't Duelo (thank goodness).

Bouffy cracked me up last night as he's yawning and Cami and company are weeping as they say good-bye. He's the type of guy who probably got the giggles at the end of Ol' Yeller.

Okay, here's my take on things...

Personally, I think Bouffy setting himself up to be the señor of San Fernando. He has married a woman for money, probably simply to sire an heir. Bouffy has openly speculated that Grita isn't good enough to be the wife of the next Señor. I'm betting he finds a way to do a way with Grita and then tries to set up Santi with Mani so that his bloodline is next in line for the Señor-ship. Somewhere he will discover that Mani and Ascanio are spending time together and it will go very badly for Mani. Hopefully he won't kill her, but I wouldn't put it past him.

I don't think Sofia is safe from his wrath. She has openly resisted him and if Jorge keeps thwarting him, he's not safe either.

If Bouffy believes Ric is dead, there is no reason to worry about Cami or her baby, from his vantage point. If he thinks Ric is alive, he's going to use the baby for leverage because he knows Ric will come looking for him with a vengence.

As for Justo. What an idiot and a hypocrite. When Vassco was out whoring all the time, he didn't stop his boy from going out. Justo just registered some relatively mild displeasure. If it is wrong for Cami to be pregnant by Ric, a man she actually loves, then he should have brought the hammer down on Vassco ages ago. They have monasteries for men too. If it not right for Cami to be pregnant and unmarried then it is not right for Vassco to be practicing marriage without a license. How does Justo think women get pregnant?

I also think Santi was way out of line with his mom by saying that she with held from him who his dad was and that justifies (justo-ifies) what they are doing to Cami. Ofelia was raped. Cami was not. To call those two situations the same is the height of hypocrisy.

Okay I have vented. I feel better. Lis is way out of her league. Her life officially stinks from here on out.

Thanks for the recap JR. I know Ursula deserves nothing but I like the idea of her being with Foreman. They seem made for each other and will torment one another but not in a violent (read Al) type of way.

I really hope the speculations about poor Manuela are wrong. I want her to live happily ever after with Ascanio.

About Liz - I have to agree with those who said the beat down on the wedding was a bit much. Yes she's wretched and deserves the all the anvils she can get but being physically abused by Al pushes it for me.

I think Santi will die because he's heading towards that religious complacence/anger thing where you think God wants you to hurt other people in service to your own ends. He wants Ric dead and he wants Cami not to have a baby and he wants to have her for his own and now he's put her in prison and he yells and threatens. This is "future dead guy" behavior.

I too want to see Ursula get Foreman.

Anon, your "(Bouffy) probably got the giggles at the end of Ol' Yeller" - PRICELESS!!!

Ascanio's long lost sister? Are we sure they knew each other past early childhood? If not, how 'bout Jimena? Perfect solution, methinks.

I've enjoyed the interesting predictions. I remember that Lafont was pursuing Ursula at the start of the show, but Ursula laughed at him and shot him down....figuratively. [She laughed in his face in her charming way and called him old.] I wish it had been literally ...and it could have been because she was holding a bow and arrow at the time. Julie, we would definitely not be allowed to sit together in study hall...I thought of that shampoo commercial, too. I think that Saintly may die if this telenovela follows the formula I've seen in past novelas. The spurned rival for the heroine's hand [and other good stuff] often does not survive the closing credits of the gran final. [In Amor Real, Antoniosolis ended up saving Manuel and dooming himself ..thus, proving his love for Matilde. Likewise, in Alborada, Hippolita's hub dies defending her honor against the evil Diego ...a long, lingering death with many loooong, impassioned speeches.] Therefore, I propose that in true novela fashion, Saintly will save Ric or Camila or Pirate Baby or all three and die in the process...thus redeeming his soul. Lafont has to die an awful death because he is evil personified in this show. Personally, I'd like to see something very large, like a horse for instance, fall on him. Lis is vindictive, selfish, obsessive, clueless , immature, and not-so-bright, but I don't know if she will die or just be miserable for the rest of her days. I really don't want Sofia and Jorge to die. Sofia is a heroine. Jorge is ....Jorge...not really evil...but rather spoiled and also not-to-bright. [It did get to me watching him hold Saintly's little girl. He looked like a proud abuelo. Justo is a horrible father, but I don't think he'll die . Camila being Camila will forgive him his transgressions and ingratitude. Fathers and step fathers seem to get away with a lot in telenovelas . [Case in point : the dreadful stepfather of Hippolita in Alborada. We all waited for him to be smashed by a ginormous anvil, but in the end, his wife forgave him and returned to him. He managed to escape without so much as a trip over an anvil. ] Also, Matilde's mother in Amor Real was a horrible person, but nothing bad happened to her. Telenovela parents seem to avoid retribution in many cases.

Bummer. I don't want Saintly to die. I just want him to wash his hair, change his scarf, and stop being such a dick. Why is that so much to ask??

If we're lucky, Julie, what you said will come to pass. (In reverse order, maybe :) Keep the faith. It could happen!

It'll really hurt my feelings if he dies.

Ever since the beginning or so, I have thought the three following people would HAVE to die: 1)Bouffy, because he's so generally evil (a la Gasca in Alborada), 2) GRita, since she snagged Santi by burying the letter (STILL hope that comes out!) and is also standing in the way of his true happiness, and 3) Jorge, so that Santi can inherit in the final reel.

Now that we're close to the end, I'm still pretty sure about all three, except now they are making Santi not-so-saintly, which means prediction #2 might be out the window. I still think, though, that letter-burying trick is her doom.

I have no idea why they're suddenly making Justo such a bad guy, but I suspect it might be a precursor to his doom, via a medical condition. He had a stroke once, perhaps he has a brain tumor that is now affecting his personality negatively.

Lis is bad news for sure, but no one deserves Bouffy as a punishment. Back at the beginning, I thought she'd end up with Santi. I still think it might happen. After all their trials and tribulations, they go back to being Good People, and end up together. I recall she loved the fire at the forge. Perhaps in the final reel he'll go back to that, hand over his title to Rico, and he and Lis live happily ever after?

As a former poster said, it's possible that one of Bouffy's smacks ends up restoring her sight? I think that's a very good prediction!

Susanna J.

Can anyone tell me how Sebastian Rulli's body hair was blonde in Rubi and Mundo de Fieras, but now his body hair is all brown??? What stumps me most is that it obviously hasn't been dyed because even his beard was blonde and now is brown
