Yo Amo A Juan, Tues. 4/1: For Whom the Bell Tolls...

Paula is yelling at Delirio, the-worst-lawyer-in-Mexico, and kicks him out of her mom's house.

Juan gives Kike a pep talk about the ladies.

Pastor tells Yvonne that he can tell there's something between him and Heriberto, something unspoken. Yvonne reminds Pastor that's what he said about Juan Dominguez.

Heri w/goatee is getting fitted for a pink, expensive suit.

Yadi and her professor are fighting in an apartment about the canned offerings for dinner. She can't eat that!! But he has no money!

Cesar Luis gives Gaitan authorization to pay salaries. It's CL's last decision at Farrell Industries. He's going to leave forever, this is the last time they'll see each other.

Kike and Juan drive. Juan thinks it's better that Kike tries to do all he can to get Yadi back, so he won't have misgivings later.

In a flashback, we see Samuel Cachon telling his angry daughter Paula that one day, one day, he hopes she'll understand her dad. Fast forward to the present: Paula is crying over her dad's grave, begging his forgiveness for not telling him she loved him.

Gaitan wants to know what will happen to the business at Farrell if CL leaves. CL is sure that no one will die.

Then CL tells Gaitan the truth: CL's mom abandoned him. In response, he decided that he wanted to be wealthy, powerful, and well-known with an admiring woman by his side. He got all the women, but he found that none could take the place of his mother. This is the true CL! Gaitan is shocked and CL asks him to leave his office.

Out in the lobby, Gaitan tells Yvonne that CL is no longer recognizeable, and he's asking for Yvonne. Pastor sheds some tears, but then asks the gathering swarm of employees in the lobby for their attention.

Yvonne goes into CL's office. CL tells her that he's going away to start a new life and wants Yvonne to go with him.

Ana is talking to a business associate at her gallery as Paula storms in. Paula cries that she was tricked by the Cachons. They robbed her of her inheritance!

Paula tells Ana what Delirio told her. Samuel Cachon left his fortune only to Paula, but the Cachons took it. Ana says they are shameless! And Paula thought Marely was her friend!!

CL tells Yvonne he needs a response. They can go away together to build the life that they've dreamed of. Yvonne tells him it's too late. CL says that they can make up for lost time. Doesn't Yvonne feel anything for him? CL apologizes to her for all of his past misdeeds. Yvonne tells CL she can't leave because she's in love with Fernando. CL asks her to leave his office.

Ana tells Paula to calm down and try to reason through the situation. Ana thinks that there must be some explanation. Nidia can set them straight.

Delirio tells Nidia that he just came from Paula's and told her he stole everything. Nidia is aghast and wants to know why he did it. Delirio is alarmed at what Paula might do. But he tells Nidia that he didn't want to be a coward. And Paula seems prepared to take drastic measures for her revenge!

CL opens his office door and limps into the lobby. Pastor makes a dramatic statement that he wants to thank CL on behalf of all of the employees. The lobby is packed and all eyes are on CL. Pastor and CL hug. Then CL tells them all good luck, they're going to need it. CL carries his briefcase to the elevator and gets in. Yvonne's eyes tear up.

Nidia asks Delirio if he has lost his mind. Delirio says that he was just defending Nidia's innocence. She tells him to shut up. Nidia doesn't want to see him!

Marely calls Paula, who berates her for breaking her trust. Just for good measure, Paula tells Marely not to call again.

Pastor sobs to Yvonne about all of the things that CL told him. Yvonne points out that CL did not share his secrets with Gaitan because they are friends. But Gaitan insists that there is a deep friendship. Gaitan won't let Paula leave, he needs to cry for the loss of his dear friend, CL.

Nidia cries that it's a tragedy that she could go to prison. She blames Delirio for butting in and telling Paula about the will.

Cowboy Heri struts into the Farrell lobby with his new pink suit and his old cowboy hat. He knows he is looking good!

Pastor continues to cry to Yvonne. Who can help him? Just then, Heri walks in. Pastor brightens. Yvonne comments on his rapid improvement. Heri sees that Pastor is upset and wants to know what happened. Pastor needs a hug, a big hug. Heri gives him a huge hug and lifts him off the ground.

Nidia packs her suitcase. When will she be able to see her daughters?!?

Juan tries to teach Kike to strut for the ladies. Kike lets his pot belly lead the way.

Nidia says a long, dramatic goodbye to Perafan. His heart is broken!

Marely asks Pastor for permission to leave the office. He hems and haws, but lets her go.

Juan demonstrates to Kike a more successful approach with the ladies.

Angarita calls his bro Pastor to invite him to dinner. Pastor is so busy and important now, he'll have to check his schedule. He shuffles some papers. Well, he can make it to dinner, but it will have to be early since he has important business tomorrow.

Kike and Juan approach the angry, fashion-impaired professora. Kike tries to explain to her that he is Yadi's husband. He's surprised that Yadi is not at school. She tells Kike where they can find her husband and Yadi. Juan pulls Kike away before things get worse.

Angarita opens his front door and Nidia marches in with her suitcase.

Ana rings the doorbell outside the front gate at the Cachon residence. Delirio pushes aside the curtains and looks out the window at her in terror. Ana rings the bell again and again.

CL sits alone in the airport terminal in an empty row of seats. All by himself. He decides to board the flight.

The doorbell at the Cachon's rings again. Delirio staggers downstairs toward the front door. He sees Ana returning to the doorbell again, angry.

Nidia tells Angarita what happened. He thinks it's better that Paula knows. Nidia does not want to go to prison. She's going to hide where the long arm of the law can't find her. At Angarita's.

Angarita tells Nidia that spending the rest of her life hiding is not the solution. She tells him that Delirio is prepared to take the blame for robbing Samuel Cachon's inheritance. He doesn't think that's such a good idea. She tells Angarita she thought he was her friend! They hug and he looks worried.

Marely has gone to Paula's to try to reason with her in person. Did something happen?

Paula blames Marely for pretending to be her friend and not telling her the truth about the stolen inheritance. All this time, Marely got the benefit from the money. Marely says she didn't know about it for a long time. She thought her mom and Delirio were prepared to tell Paula the truth.

Pastor and Yvonne are chatting at the office. He wonders why Marely ran out of there earlier looking so upset.

Paula bitterly accuses Marely of being a part of the deception. Marely tries to argue, looks at Paula with wide eyes, and fights back her tears.

Susanna, Thank you so much getting this recap out so fast. This episode was so unpleasant I think you should get double danger pay. Unfortunately two times $0 still ain't mucho. But you did a great job with the material. I'm glad you ended with the sweet eyed Marely's face to hold on to. Paula is just a harpy on jet fuel. Why did the writers give us nothing to like about her. Her sanctimonious claims on the fortune HER padre left her is so insincere. I don't think even the sweet forbearing Ana can quite believe her.

Susana, thanks for the quick recap. I am back up to speed, thanks to recappers, this week. Being away from Univision is a real downer. I actually have withdrawal, I think.

We are again reminded that Paula and CL deserve each other. Maybe she'll go get on a plane and go off to nowhere and find that she actually loves him. That would be justice, in my mind, for both of them. Paula is about the most odious heroine ever.

Jeanne

Ah, the mysteries of acting. Nidia can act odious (really, she treated Alirio badly after his righteous confession and abandoned him) but we still have a soft spot for her.
Paula, ohmigawd! beyond unbearable, or as Cheryl said "a harpy on jet fuel". I'm still puzzled as to whether it's the writers' fault or that of the actress.
I loved Yvonee's line when she declined Cesar Luis' invitation..."el desencanto es un camino sin regreso". So true. Once you lose all your illusions about someone, you can still care about him, but you can never "be in love" with him again.
Now...big question...is the nasty Cesar on the way to redemption? His confession of his abandonment and adoption (guess he wasn't born with a gold spoon in his mouth after all) could be the first step. And will we see him again or is this sayonaura?
I certainly would miss him...I think this actor is terrific at shading his performance. His laugh is wonderful, even in that nasty scene with Juan, learning Juan was his socio. I'll have Cesar Luis withdrawal symptoms even if Yvonee doesn't!
And hey, Susana, nice little Hemingway touch in the title. Gracias. Your writing style has a touch of Hemingway, come to think of it.

Dios mio, that Paula is truely insufferable! Tho she IS pretty easy on my eyes, that doesn't make up for her personality. How she has changed for the worse in the course of the show. I thought that she was pretty sweet when I first got sucked in. Gotta wonder what Juan is going to do next; he sure seems to be weaning himself from Paula, and leaning to Marely(!!). How is he going to deal with the "harpy on jet fuel" (excellent!)at their next meeting? It seems like the ultimos capitulos notice should be coming quickly, the main characters are starting to be laid off, they are cutting the payroll... Something scary/odd happened last night- I had a dream that I encountered Ivonne (Arleth?) somewhere, and we had a breief conversation, but I was so starstruck that I could barely talk, niether in english or spanish. wierd. dorado dave

Well hey, Dorado Dave, you're not the first one to fall under Ivonne's spell. We had a reader, Old Man 54, who adored her. Thought her much more attractive than either Paula or Marely.
I think she's a great comedienne...love the way she skitters across the floor in her high, high heels. It's a hoot to watch her. And she definitely has a lush, down-to-earth beauty. And feisty without being screechy Paula-style.

wait a minute, JudyB, I wouldn't say that I am under her spell, tho she is attractive, and a syou say, is a great comedienne, and an attractive beauty, i only have eyes for Marely at this point; with Paula turning into the harpy as she has. i hoping to meet Floencia (Marely) soon, even if she is way too young for me. Hope thatt I won't be tongue-tied dorado dave

Hi Susana, thank you for your great recap! I burst out laughing when you said Kike leads with his pot belly. Wow, you recappers are really nailing Paula on the head with your descriptions, first Shrill Princess and now Harpy on Jet Fuel. Yikes, she's a nasty bit of work all right. I imagine she will soon regret her harsh words to Marely as she so often does, just like she did with her papa. I just loved it when Juanito hung up on her.

Okay Dorado Dave, I'll take your word for it. And aren't dreams great!? I haven't dreamed about any of our galans yet (and yes, they are waaaay too young for me as well) but occasionally Paul Newman shows up....and shoot!, he's TOO OLD!!

I can't believe Paula!! Wasn’t Mr. Cachon Marely's Dad? Shouldn’t she at least consider that she is her sister and deserves some of the money? No, no, Princess Paula, she is only concerned in how she was wronged and how she didn’t get her money. Is she forgiving her dad because he left her the money? So, no money no love? And what is she complaining about, didn’t her father paid for her out of the country school? Those are not cheap especially if you are paying with pesos. Marely should have tell her that if she is so blind as to not see that she (Marely) did not have anything to do with it, then good riddance!
I think that Paula likes Juan, because he is the only one that doesn’t take her crap. As soon as she gets in her high horse Juan stops her in her heels. I truly don’t understand the writers. I know that Paula reaction is consistent with the way she has been presented from the beginning, however aren’t they supposed to make us like her? Sorry about the rant is just that I got really mad when I saw her yelling at Marely. Anyway, I just wanted to say great recap.

Thanks, Susanna, so much. It had to have been unbearable for you. :(

Way to go, writers. Take away ANY sympathy your viewers might have for the heroine you have so carefully built (I'm probably giving you too much credit there, too). Bah.

To quote a beloved caray commenter... Que the hell???

Well said Maricruz. What makes Paula the one and only who should get Papi's money? Was Samuel even in his right mind? He committed suicide. If the situation were reversed I'm sure Marely would gladly split her inheritance with Paula, heck she'd probably give the whole darn thing up. Grrrrr...que the hell is right.

Hey, I noticed Delirio used the phrase from our sidebar "Se pusó un energúmeno" (she went apeshit) about Paula's reaction. How appropriate.

I still don.t know who the mother of Juanito is? could some one clue me in to the week that was played.. Thanks Jeanne Q

Jeanne Q...left you an answer to your question on the 4/2 recap.
