Pasion April 15, 2008 Mutiny in the gallery and Passion in the bedrooms
EPISODE 87:
* Rico talks with Cami - Cami says she came with Sofia and Ursula and then was going on to find him. They hug; Rico asks about their son; Cami cries and says he died, he was born too early. Rico is impactado and kind. He asks her why she's there; she says Jimena gave her his message and she just had to tell him about the baby and be with him. Rico consoles her and helps Mario escort them out to a safer place.
* Mario and Rico hurry Sofia, Ursula, Romualdo and Cami down the stairs to a large green space. Rico stops Cami and advises her strongly that whatever confrontation happens to keep her mouth shut and not say a word. Cami is curious and agrees.
* In the main hall of the palace, Foreman and all the pirates are enjoying a special grand feast in their honor (wild pirate party). Foreman and pirates toast their success. Romualdo, Sofia and Ursula enter first, followed by Mario. Sofia is mortified and upset by Foreman and knowing he lied to them about who he was. Foreman apologizes to Sofia and Ursula and tells them the truth about his true profession. Ursula is aghast, disgusted and scared by all the dirty, nasty pirates. Foreman tries to console her. Rico and Cami then enter. A pirate yells down with his complaint against Rico taking away his right to have sex with Cami. Rico yells back that Cami is his wife and he needs to respect that. The two argue back and forth with Foreman trying to mediate. Foreman yells for the pirate to choose duel or money. Rico yells at the pirate to answer the question. Pirate yells back he and his buddy will duel against Rico. Rico is baffled by the pirates' decision. Mario stands in the hall, protecting Sofia, Romualdo and Ursula. Rico whispers to Cami and then has Mario take her to join Sofia, Romualdo and Ursula on the side of the room. Foreman calms the crowd down, reminds Rico what kind of duel this will be. Rico, reluctantly, says to the death. Foreman and everyone move around the room and make plenty of space for the duel. Cami is scared and worried. Rico walks out to the middle of the gallery and wraps his hands. As the pirates get into position with their arms, Rico grips his sword in one hand with his dagger in the other. Rico and the pirates start their duel right there in the gallery. Rico and the pirates have their two on one sword fight until the swords and daggers all cross and stall out - Rico overpowers the two and eventually succeeds in slicing a cut on one's upper arm, then cuts the other also. The pirates fall on the ground, one gets up to go again. Cami tries to run into the action but Mario forces her to stay back. Rico stabs, swings his sword at the pirates, then jumps on the table and using the chandelier as a swing, takes out a pirate with a push of his mighty powerful legs. He takes out another pirate then uses the chandelier rope to help him climb the walls (like spiderman) and climb onto the balcony where he takes out another pirate and tosses him down on the table below; he rolls a beer barrel down the stairs at another, and breaks the neck of yet another. (I think it was more like a six on one mutiny that Rico was fighting.) As Rico runs down the stairs, Foreman hands him a sword and he sword fights with the final challenger of the mutiny - this one he stabs clear through the stomach and the pirate drops dead. Rico and the pirates all have a chest-thumping cheer - Rico stops as soon as he sees Cami put her head down in sadness; Rico turns human and puts his head down and gulps down his manly Tarzan yell. Sofia and Ursula are impactado (in different ways) by the scene.
* Cami is in her bedroom, ready for bed and kissing the pocket watch. Rico knock as asks to enter - she says come in. Rico walks quickly into the bedroom - they hug tightly. He missed her so much; she was in his thoughts the whole time they were apart. She tells him she was going to La Iguana to look for him; he hugs her and says that was crazy - he couldn't imagine all the dangers she could get into during the search. He dies just thinking about it. He asks about their son. Cami sits down and tells Rico the whole story - from when she and Jimena discovered she was pregnant, her father's animosity towards him and how he went straight to Santo and they devised the plan to have her stay at Jorge's property at Garbancillo in order to hide her and the pregnancy - she agreed to it because all she wanted was to give birth to Rico's son. Then Santo and Justo came in and had to move her quickly because they said Rico's men were in town - Rico says that was right, he did return to town, he searched for her and found the midwife Auxiliadora, but then he got stuck in La Coralina due to the plague and everyone was quarantined. Cami is concerned and curious. Rico explains all the deaths and disgusting sights - he asks her to tell him more about their son. She tells him that the midwife was busy delivering another baby so in the pain of childbirth, Santo and Justo forced her to move to the midwife's house - Rico is disgusted and grows angry with Santo. She tell him she thought she heard the baby cry - Rico realizes maybe their son was born alive. Cami says the midwife said it was stillborn so she may have been dreaming or wishing it. She's not sure, she was out of it with a high fever for several weeks. When she woke up, that's what the family told her and she even visited their son's grave - she's crying as she describes the grave and her feelings - she sits on his lap and says how much she needed him and his consoling hugs at that moment. Rico is grimaces with thoughts of revenge against Santo.
* Foreman visits Ursula in her room. She's ready for bed; he pours some wine in two glasses for him and her to share. They go to the bedroom and talk; she wants to know all about his battles and adventure stories. Foreman responds in delight. She asks him about Rico's position in his team. Foreman says all captains are independent but on this occasion, he is the Captain General. Ursula flirts and asks about Foreman's next adventure. Foreman says it's the most dangerous he's ever attempted. She asks what is it? He says falling in love with someone like her, and not getting himself killed in the process. They kiss.
* Rico holds Cami in his arms; they kiss and tell each other how they missed each other so terribly while they were separated. They love each other. Rico sits himself and Cami on the bed - they are still hugging and getting closer and closer to kissing. After Jimena told her about his visit, she continued to have hope that one day they would be together again. They kiss. She needs him. He, in mid-kiss, says he needs her too... They make mad, passionate love all night long (ed. note: a bit of really fuzzy, censored video on the television screens here, folks.)
* Ursula wakes up alone in her bed, wrapped up in her bed sheet and finds the pearl necklace laying on her neck. She smiles and laughs as she is enchanted by the necklace and who gave it to her (Foreman).
* Foreman and Rico walk down to breakfast together; they discuss the other pirates, their mistreatment of the innocent citizens, and fair payment for all their work (partition of the treasures). Rico tells him that the ladies need to leave town, it isn't safe for them to remain in town. Foreman tells Rico that he had done something with Ursula last night; he enjoyed it. Foreman mentions Rico being with Cami last night also. Rico says he sent Mario to La Bonita to book passage on a merchant ship that will take the ladies away. Foreman agrees and will stay in case the citizens decide to revolt against them. Foreman mentions Rico and Cami; he notes that Rico is a man of strong passions. Rico nods.
* Ursula is fixing her hair and her necklace in the mirror as she and Sofia talk in their bedroom. Sofia is grateful to Rico for arranging for their passage away from town. Ursula wants to stay, she likes the palace and says it's safe and Foreman is there also. Sofia looks up and sees the necklace that Ursula is playing with. She asks what is it? Who gave it to you? Ursula says it's a gift from Foreman. Sofia slaps her daughter right across her cheek. On her way out the door, Sofia grumbles, ('lo ramera jamas se le quitara') "a whore will always remain that way." Sofia leaves.
* Rico and Cami hug in their bedroom. Cami isn't happy about being separated from Rico again. Rico explains this time, it's necessary and promises that this will be the last time. He explains he has to go to La Coralina for the partition of the treasure and ... and they sit down and he tells her about his adopted son. Cami is surprised; he explains how he wanted to tell her this under better circumstances, not after finding out about their son. Cami is happy and agrees to being the boy's mommy - as if he were really his son. Rico explains his mother died during the plague and his mother gave him to Rico to care for. Rico tells Cami the boy is three years old, and describes him. Cami wonders where they will see each other - Rico says how about San Fernando. I will bring the boy with me. Rico mentions a favor for Ascanio to do for him. They hug - he emphatically asks her to wait for him - she smiles and promises to wait. They kiss.
* Foreman visits Ursula in her room - they flirt together as they say good-bye. She tells him she wants to travel and have adventures with him. He proposes that they take off on an exciting adventure just the two of them. Ursula is doubly enchanted by the idea. They kiss.
* Candida and Ines are at the San Fernando town market. They gossip about the baby that Candida cares for. Ines is pleased about Lis arranging for the baby's baptism and being the baby's godmother. Candida mentions that Alberto is furious with the baptism, and informs Ines about the violent fights he's had at night over the subject. Candida goes inside; Ines is intrigued.
* Santo comes outside to the patio after checking on Ana Maria. Ofelia asks him about the baptism and the parents of the baby - Santo says the mother is the niece of a servant. Ofelia wonders if it's another of Jorge's bastard children. Santo doesn't suspect that, and he will be the godfather. As Jorge explains, it is all part of being the Lord of San Fernando. Santo doesn't know more, Lis is planning everything. They turn their conversation onto Manuela and Ascanio's relationship. Santo then asks about Cami. Ofelia says losing her baby was really difficult for her so she needs time to heal. Santo holds out hope that she will return alone and he can marry her. She's the only woman he would consider marrying.
* Vasco shows businessman outside after their productive and successful meeting. Ines stops by - Vasco smiles and hugs her. They sit and have a picnic. He tells her how beautiful she is; he stares at her and notices how distinct she is. Ines cries and confesses that she overheard his conversation with Ursula the other day. She was deeply touched. Vasco meant every word. In fact, he's almost thankful that Santo and his dad forced him to marry her - he's lucky to have such a wonderful treasure in his corner. Ines says she's always felt the same way. They laugh and kiss.
* On the coastal walkway towards the docks, Sofia and Ursula walk ahead with Mario. Rico and Cami trail behind, talking again about the plan. Rico has to assure Cami that he will be free and will be with her again. He begs her to trust him. She does trust him. They kiss. Mario whistles and thumps his chest. Rico and Cami break up the kiss. Rico wishes Ursula and Sofia a safe trip. Ursula thanks him and goes on to the dock. Sofia talks with Mario, compliments him on being a gentleman. Mario respects her also. Mario asks Sofia to tell Jimena that he misses her and will see her soon. Sofia agrees to deliver the message. Pablo reminds them they have to leave. Rico and Cami have a last moment together to hug and kiss, and he asks her when they reunite, and he asks her to leave her family and hometown to go away with him, will she go? She says yes. She watches him walk away with Mario. Rico tosses a kiss and his heart to her. Cami cries and smiles. Rico and Mario dart away. Cami walks slowly towards the boat dock.
* Ines and Jimena wander through the streets, gossip about Lis and the baptism of baby Pedro.
* At the door of the church, Santo and Fortunata wait and talk with Don Agustin. Lis, Fran, Cleo, Candida and baby Pedro greet them at the door. Cleo and Fran hand the baby to Lis. Lis greets Santo and Fortunata and Padre; she thanks them for agreeing to the baptism. Santo replies. Don Agustin asks for the baby's name. Lis says Pedro. Don Agustin wonders about the last name; he suggests using "N.N. for no nombre". Lis objects, thinking that's not dignified. Don Agustin asks Cleo for the last name of her niece - Cleo nervous replies a made-up story of her niece not having a last name. Fortunata and Santo say it's perfectly fine for a child not to have a last name in the eyes of G-d. Lis doesn't like it, she wants the child to be dignified - she says that the baby will be "Pedro de Salamanca." (UY!)
* Later, in the salon, Alberto slaps Lis hard across her face in front of Fran and Manuela. He goes ballistic over Lis going ahead and giving Pedro her last name. He hates the idea and wants it changed. Fran and Manuela try to help Lis defend her position. Alberto yells and screams even more. He storms out. Lis screams after him, It's already registered! It's already registered!
* Alberto meets with Don Agustin at the church. Alberto is furious and demands the padre delete the last name from Pedro's registration. Don Agustin apologizes but church rules are very different and once the baptism has been performed, the name stays with the child. Alberto continues to bully and try to force the pastor to do as he demands. Don Agustin is adamant and says no, besides Lis, Santo, Fran, and Fortunata were signed witnesses. Alberto storms out. Don Agustin crosses himself and kisses his cross necklace.
* Alberto returns home. In the salon, he demands Lis take herself, her maid and the baby and leave the house immediately - he no longer wants to have them live under his roof. Lis cries and asks where will she go? Alberto storms away. Lis cries, "where? where?"
* Ines talks with Ofelia in the sewing room at the house. Ofelia tells Ines all about Santo's dream of marrying Cami - just listening to him, she is sick in the stomach. As they continue to discuss Santo and Cami, Ines says Cami is very much in love with Rico. Ofelia knows this and fears the worst for Santo, especially after Rita made her wishes known, about Cami and Santo raising Ana Maria together, before she died. Ines tells her mom that she and Vasco are extremely happy together now. Vasco is much more responsible and grounded. Ines is hoping that someday soon she will have a baby - and Paco will have another cousin. All the baby talk and Ines and Ofelia grow sad thinking about Cami and the baby she "lost".
* Lis and Fran argue in their bedroom about Lis making her husband angry over her decision to name the baby Pedro de Salamanca. They wonder where Alberto ran off to, and if he went to talk with Santo. Fran advises her about Alberto's temper. Lis needs to think of a plan, where to live.
* Rico, Mario and Pablo sit down for drinks at the local watering hole (saloon). Mario and Pablo talk about the ladies departing on the ship. Rico, really sad and lonely, tells Mario and Pablo that his son died at birth. He tells them the story Cami told him about the disgraceful Santo moving her to Garbancillo, then to another location and then to the midwife's cottage during labor. Mario sympathizes with Rico. Rico grumbles about revenge against Santo.

Alberto continues to bully and try to force the pastor to do as he demands. Don Agustin is adamant and says no, besides Lis, Santo, Fran, and Fortunata were signed witnesses. Alberto storms out. Don Agustin crosses himself and kisses his cross necklace.
* Alberto returns home. In the salon, he demands Lis take herself, her maid and the baby and leave the house immediately - he no longer wants to have them live under his roof. Lis cries and asks where will she go? Alberto storms away. Lis cries, "where? where?"
* Ines talks with Ofelia in the sewing room at the house. Ofelia tells Ines all about Santo's dream of marrying Cami - just listening to him, she is sick in the stomach. As they continue to discuss Santo and Cami, Ines says Cami is very much in love with Rico. Ofelia knows this and fears the worst for Santo, especially after Rita made her wishes known, about Cami and Santo raising Ana Maria together, before she died. Ines tells her mom that she and Vasco are extremely happy together now. Vasco is much more responsible and grounded. Ines is hoping that someday soon she will have a baby - and Paco will have another cousin. All the baby talk and Ines and Ofelia grow sad thinking about Cami and the baby she "lost".
* Lis and Fran argue in their bedroom about Lis making her husband angry over her decision to name the baby Pedro de Salamanca. They wonder where Alberto ran off to, and if he went to talk with Santo. Fran advises her about Alberto's temper. Lis needs to think of a plan, where to live.
* Rico, Mario and Pablo sit down for drinks at the local watering hole (saloon). Mario and Pablo talk about the ladies departing on the ship. Rico, really sad and lonely, tells Mario and Pablo that his son died at birth. He tells them the story Cami told him about the disgraceful Santo moving her to Garbancillo, then to another location and then to the midwife's cottage during labor. Mario sympathizes with Rico. Rico grumbles about revenge against Santo.

Thanks, JR, for that extremely speedy recap. So, Foreman is one of those kiss-and-tell guys, and he was very inquisitive about Ric's noche de amor with Camila, wsn't he?? What is he 15 ? I'm happy that Ric is a discreet hombre who does not go in for locker room chisme. As for Lis's quandry of where will she go now that Lafont has kicked her out...I'd be thanking my lucky stars to get away from that dirty , old nutcase. And doesn't she still own Camila's house???? Why can't she pack up her dolls and move there ?? Do you think that Candida will finally figure out that the baby is not Clotilde's niece's baby??? After all, Candida is her niece, too. How will Baby Ricky be revealed ? ic definitely looked suspicious when Camila told him that she thought she remembered hearing the baby cry. Ric kicked a lot of pirate butt last night and didn't even take names....how many were there ???.......about a dozen ??? I lost count. And wasn't the chandelier move and swoop to the balcony very Errol Flynnesque ??? There must be something in The Pirate Code about only one on one fighting because the unwashed hordes very quite polite and did not gang up on ONH [Our Noble Hero]. They lined up in an orderly unpiratelike fashion and waited to get killed by the Ric. The scenes between Ric and Camila were poignant and sweet. That love scene was edited...see Youtube.

Bouf is really going off the deep end. I mean, seriously, he can't even mousse his hair any more. We're definitely building to some sort of plot crescendo w/ Lis, Bouf, Tia & little Pedro...can't afford to miss a minute!

Thanks so much for the recap JR. What an exciting episode. And how much fun is it watching things come together. When Ric comes back to town, Santi is in trouble. Also when he finds out about what Liz did with his son (and the anguish he and his wife have suffered).... let's just say he's not going to be very happy with her.

I might be wrong, but I thing Lafont didn’t threw out Lis, just the baby and Clotilde. Tha’t why Lis is so devastated. She asked him where they would go. He said he didin’t care, he just wanted Clotilde and baby Pedro out of his house. After Lafont left she said to herself “After all I did to get him, I won’t lose him. I’ll come up with something.” Of course aunt Fran couldn’t care less about the baby or Lis for that matter.

Great recap. I thought that when the one pirate slapped the table with his body and the other then slapped the table with his hand that they were tag team pirate fighting.Also Ric swore an oath by the name of their dead child. Huh?

I think Bouffy is just going off the deep end because the carpet is being pulled out from under him. His decisions are proving to be bad lately and he is being shunned by the Jorge/Santiago inner circle. To top it all off, he didn't get what he hoped for with his wife either. Since he is a small and petty man, he is just lashing out instead of trying to improve his situation. He is doomed doomed doomed. Capital D Doomed.
I also understood that LaFont was kicking Clotilde and the baby out (do you think he's going to let Lisabeta out of his hands?). And the problem with Lisabeta owning Camila's house is that when she married LaFont, everything she owned became his. Personally, I think Lisabeta's even crazier than LaFont - she's acting on a series of false assumptions and seems to have tuned out reality completely. He's abusive, a bully, and generally evil ... and now he's really, really frustrated. All his plans are going awry, Lisabeta's not really that intimidated by him (he keeps threatening her, but she's doing pretty much what she wants. She might have been able to placate him by saying she didn't know anything about babies and wanted to use little Pedro to practice on - he might have bought that. But it's probably better for the story for her to get crazier and crazier and him to get angrier and angrier.)
Foreman and Ursula - let's face it, they were made for each other! Not only can he make her happy in bed (really - young, beefy and dumb may have been the best she could find up 'til now, but I'm sure she's finding that experience counts), he can take her traveling, give her some excitement, plus some high quality bling! (And they could trade hair care tips, too!)
And whoever's choreographing and filming these fight scenes - bravo! Ricardo's fight against the however-many pirates had me on the edge of my seat. The previews from the next episode look to continue with this level.

WOW on that fight. It far exceeded my previous favorite telenovela fight, Rodrigo vs. Frankie at the restaurant in Destilando Amor. (The spilled ice cream really made that one for me.)

Not that he's a pretty boy, but we're talking hideous sores and rashes. Also, given his and Jorge's proclivities, the disease would probably be all over town by now and have shut down the brothel - or at any rate he would have been shunned as a client by now.
Lis can't simply move back to Cami's old house, because Lafont would go in there, drag her out by the hair into the town plaza, and beat her to death in front of everyone.

I too was bummed not to see a Foreman/Ursula scene. Somehow I'm not so sure this can work out for her, long-term - but I honestly think Tita is better off without her.
Months ago, when Ursula was engaged to Claudio's cousin, the plan was that she was going to leave Tita behind, and Fortunata wanted to take care of her. That seems awfully cold on Ursula's part, but it's probably the best arrangement for Tita, Fortunata, and Ursula.

Oh me Gaaaawwd!!! I'm half way through the episode and had to stop and let out some steam. Did my man wield his sword in this episode or freaking WHAT!!! This guy is so flamin' HOT!! Lawd Ha' Mercy! And when he talked about the nino he had adopted he got all soft with love and even pride! How quickly he is attuned to the little crumb-crusher's temperament and personality. I'm so glad I save these, I'm playing that scene over and over and over. Jaime Camil still has first place for me as drop dead gorgeous, but Fernando, umh, umh, umh, he is first place HOT!

Anon 12:03 again. Oh my Gawd! Did you see that cool finger salute, precision pivot and swashbuckler swagger as he took leave of Cami. I could just pull him through the screen! And Mario, blushing as he asked Dona Sofia to tell Ximena that he misses her and will see her soon. So cute! And those two ravenous blonds, they are a perfect match. My girl got totally hot and bothered hearing about the battle and I'm sure the slaughter in the palace hall got them both further in the mood. Freaks!! Gonna miss this show!

So much action and good stuff last night. Thanks, JR for the detailed recap.
The pirate fight was wonderful. Ric mows 'em down, one after another, except when he's facing two at once. Super chandelier swinging, too. We must give Mario props for securing Cami through the whole ordeal.
Sofia was impressed with Ric, plus Mario earned the offical Sofia Seal of Approval. His bashful message to Jimena was sweet.
Julie, there will never be another fight as funny as Rodrigo vs. Frankie in the restaurant. This pirate fight was Ric vs. other brave pirates trying to kill him, so it was somewhat a battle of equals. The Frankie fight was a coward trying to escape the revenge of rightous wrath.
Foreman and Ursula...Sofia was right, that girl's not gonna change. She might as well go off and have some adventures with Foreman. As stated above, they can work together on hair care.
I was really happy that Cami and Ric could catch up on so many parts of their life together.

Ric was a animal and those horrible pirates didn't stand a chance LOL. I thought it was supposed to be three against one but it looked like Ric killed about six of them altogether. Ric looked sad to see Camila so horrified by all the violence. But my badass pirate did what he had to do to protect his woman. I love Ric so much. The scene when Camila tells him what really happened to her and how Sancti and her father caused her to go into premature labor and moving her twice and the anger in Ric's eyes. Sancti better watch out now. Ric will avenge his son. The love scene was powerful. After watching the uncut version on YouTube and picking up my jaw from the floor from the sheer intimacy of the love scene. That was passion in its essence. Two souls connecting. It was beautiful and the lighting really set the mood. But it seemed a bit blurred to me. Maybe because of the nudity I don't know. It was still beautiful and to my surprise only a little bit was edited this time. Glad that Ric doesn't kiss and tell like Foreman LOL. Loved when Ric told Camila about the orphan boy that he adopted. Ric and Camila may just become Brangelina with her being guardian to her niece and now the adopted boy too. As for Sancti's wish to marry Camila. Won't happen. Especially since she's seen Ric again and made love to him too LOL. Ironic that Sancti is godfather to Ric and Camila's son unbeknownst to him of course. Now that the baby was named after Ric's father this should cause suspicion about the parentage of the baby. If Lis didn't want anyone to know that that is Camila's baby naming him after Ric's father was not a bright idea LOL. Waiting anxiously for tonights show.
Another fave moment from the pirate fight was the acrobatic move when Ric climbed up the wall and onto the balcony. I loved it. Sophia did seem very impressed with Ric and Mario did do a great job og keeping Camila to stay put during the fight.
I - 'who vant to be alo.oone' -had to pick up the phone after that magnificent fight! Called my daughter knowing she was not watching! Wished my son could have seen it because I probably looked like him when he's enjoying violence on TV. Foreman and my son have kind of the same fight fan behaviors, except my son's is louder: "Oh SNAP; did-yu-see-that!; replay, replay (and dance on the sofa)... Well me too!
And gee-whiz, it is fightening to see Ricardo go into his killing zone.
But when he threw his heart out to Camilla?!!! I was captured again. That man can turn on a heel and give the best exit I have EVER SEEN, on screen or live!

Ursula finally got her very own hawt pirate. I'm sort of glad for her. As her own mother pointed out, she has the character for the lifestyle. Yep, I can see those two would be ocassionally unfaithful but maintain a union, enjoying the adventures of unfettered existence.

I read a TV y Novelas article about Fernando a couple of years ago, and it said that he got started as a stuntman, so it's not surprising he does all those acrobatic things himself. He's also been quoted as saying he owes it to his fans to keep himself in top physical condition. And does he ever!
I know it made a more exciting scene, but some freakin' pirate honor. He agrees to fight three, but they all keep coming at him.
Bouffy is getting ready to reap the whirlwind with his crazed behavior. Not sure if Lis, Ric, or guardias at his next assault on the caravans will do him in. It could be Santiago, since we saw him skewer someone recently and apparently not run to church afterwards for penance. There's even a slim possibility Jorge would do him in himself. And Ascanio is in the running, as well. Everyone except Colonel Mustard in the Library is a suspect.
I know it made a more exciting scene, but some freakin' pirate honor. He agrees to fight three, but they all keep coming at him.
Bouffy is getting ready to reap the whirlwind with his crazed behavior. Not sure if Lis, Ric, or guardias at his next assault on the caravans will do him in. It could be Santiago, since we saw him skewer someone recently and apparently not run to church afterwards for penance. There's even a slim possibility Jorge would do him in himself. And Ascanio is in the running, as well. Everyone except Colonel Mustard in the Library is a suspect.

Last night, plenty of bravery, heroism, and manliness. But IMHO, the bravest, most heroic of all was the priest. Yeah, Ric faced several pirates, but it was for the love of his life, and he's a world-class fighter against drunk losers.
But the priest, OTOH, little man, with no powerful patron/guardian (in the natural realm). Still, he stood toe to toe against LaFont, physically powerful, politically mighty, ruthless, and in a rage. The priest knew LaFont had the strength, and the lack of scruples, and the fury, to kill the priest on the spot, and LaFont would have gotten away with it.* Still, he did not bend one inch. Like Daniel's 3 friends in the fiery furnace - I know my God can save me, and even if He doesn't, I still won't back down.
*Yes, I know the church was powerful. But would it really spend its political capital on a little priest in a little berg?

Regarding our favorite pirate's next role, I've heard he's taking a hiatus from novelas for some professional development. Que lastima, it may be some time before we see F. Colunga, TBLMOE, in anything new.
In other matters, I don't know that I'll watch FELS. But if I do, I think I'll be Pobarone Paula. Not sure of the spelling, but they are the flat shortbread cookies that come in pink and yellow. Yum!

I was impressed by the padre standing up to Lafont too. I don't know if the Church would knock itself out to prosecute the murder, but they wouldn't have to - at this point, Jorge would be thrilled to have an excuse to execute Lafont!

I will sadly miss Fernando in every way, shape & form. Sorry, gang, but Eduardo doesn't come close for me. He's kinda big & bulky & I wasn't a fan of his Destilando character at all. I'll give the bakery boys a shot but my heart belongs to Fer(pant pant)nando.

Julie~~~I agree that the scene in the restaurant in Destilando where Sofia and Rodrigooo tag team Isa and Smarmy Frankie was fantastic. There is one thing scarier than watching Eduardo fly into a rage...and that's watching Eduardo fly into a jealous rage while stomping on top of a table. At one point, I thought that he was going to jump down on Frankie like the faux wrestlers do...Rodrigooo the Rock. Question ~ Ric told Camila that he wants Ascanio o o to do something for him. I wonder what that is. Also, does Ric know that Ascanio o o is now Saintly's right hand man and that he is auditing Jorge's cooked books????

So,,,we had our wish fulfiied to see Fernando as a pirate, and I , for one, am completely satisfied. What's your suggestion for Fernando's next historical role??? Maybe Carla will read your idea here and make your dream come true in her next novela !! What???...It could happen. I'd still love to see Fernando as Zorro even though Zorro was done as a novela with another actor on a different network. Or how about Fernando as an Aztec prince??? Lots of opportunity for barechested scenes there. Or maybe he could play Benito Juarez. He was the first Indian Mexican president. He was a poor boy with a desire to learn who was helped in his education by a generous benefactor, and he became a lawyer. He spent a lot of his time in office fleeing his enemies across Mexico. He came to power at the end of the American Civil War , and supplies would be left along the border for the Mexican fighters to take. So, what do you want to see Fernando play next ???

Hmmm...STD...I recall that Diego fell victim to an STD and spiraled down into disease and madness. I remember Team Luis discussing the poxridden Diego wanting to fight the world in his madness due to the STD. I will never forget Melinama's most famous bit of translation : ''swelling in the humid zones.'' Maybe Lafont is becoming increasingly cranky and irrational due to swelling in his humid zones. And , may I just add...it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. KNOCK KNOCK...Who's there?...Karma...Karma who?...Karma here so that I can check out your humid zones for swelling.

Ah, Mad Bess, I recall Guy Williams (real name Armando Catalano) as Zorro! Even though I was a little girl I knew he was not! Loved the song and visuals of the opening and (don't know if was a stuntman or not) the scene of Zorro on the horse. "Out of the night, when the full moon is bright, rides a horseman known as Zorro!" It was done in beautiful and dramatic black and white. What a figure that man cut on a horse. Yeah, that would be totally smokin.
He could play any kind of good-hearted bandito like Zorro. Any character as long as he's good and noble at heart, add flowing hair, shirtlessness, some ripped thighs, suggestive bulges (anywhere), boots, horses, etc. Yeah!

Mini-detail - there's been some talk of Ursula (when she was planning to marry Claudio's murderous cousin) leaving Tita to be raised by Sofia and Jorge, and it occurred to me - what about Tita's father's family? would they not have any interest in her? or, since he was so much older than Ursula, can we assume that he has adult children from an earlier marriage (or marriages) who would be just as happy to see her out of the picture? just wondering ....

Interesting how we almost not getting any information about relatives who are out of the picture before the story starts - like mother of little Paco, Justo's wife, Ursula's husband, sister of Ascanio, Manuela's mother and may be some more. The only info we've got was about Ric's dad, also very limited but at least something.
By the way, about future plans for Fernando Colunga - Angélica Rivera (Gaviota) recently in her interview told that she would like to make movie with him. It would be very interesting couple - I really like her Gaviota and me thinks that it would be a good match!

I hope Ursula does get together with Foreman, because (as a guy), I think she'd look super as a pirate - doo rag on her hair, black top (maybe a little low cut), red sash as a belt, tight pirate pants, boots, and maybe even a dagger held between her teeth! (Hope I'm not offending anyone, but we men need our fantasies too!).

Is there a way where the past episodes can be looked up by episode, other than month archives? I missed the whole first week, and can't get U-tube to work on my computer.
The pirate par-tay was eye candy to behold. FC surely can ride a chandelier! Interesting to hear that he was once a stuntman. I hope in his next project, he finds a one worthy of his depth, talents and charisma. Sebastain Rulli as well- he's not just a pretty face either.
I agree with Mad Marley grey, Eve from Cleveland and Julie--the Ursula/ Foreman really hot love scene that didn't happen, would've been really hot- had it happened. This pair seemed so very well matched. Ursula just emanated a glow that I thought made her very attractive. Necklace was an excellent touch.
Ric and Cami may have 3 children possibly between them now, but since they made love, there's always the possibility by the end of this show, they could have 4! Anyone think Innes looked a little heavier and unusually covered up in last night's episode?
Ric, Santo and Bouffy have serious grievances regarding the others- and each man is dangerous and deadly in their own right. Ric has vengeance, Santo the tang of bitter disappointment, and Bouffy is Loco en la cabeza! (Hopefully I said that right...) I smell serious testosterone in the air tonight!

Yes Schoolmarm-In-Black, the swashbuckling, swinging and swording made me very happy indeed! I think I will have to save that episode for a very long time. Colunga doesn't dissapoint, and his own stunts? Caray, caray, what a man!

I think you had a typo in your good-looking men. You reversed the order. That's okay, it's late, we all make mistakes. Who possibly could not agree that Fernando Colunga is TBLMOE? (have you figured out the acronym yet?) I will grant you this, though. Camil is darned fun to watch. Sexier than Colunga, even. But better looking? Nunca te atreveri'as decir tal cosa!
As for the perfect role, I would love to see FC in Edgar Rice Burroughs' "John Carter of Mars" series. Extremely heroic, noble, and chivalrous. Intelligent, genteel, and in his 30's. Lives by code of honor. And gladly risks life and limb for the beautiful Deja Thoris, against wicked villians and evil monsters. And BTW, since Mars is so hot, he wears a minimum of clothing - loin covering and leather harness to hold his sword and dagger. Waddya think?
