Pasión de Gavilanes, Thurs. 7-31:

I forgot to post this from Wed.'s episode. I hope this isn't an example of the classy outfits that Leandro is supposed to be designing for Rosario. It's hard to imagine something less appropriate to wear to the 'club.'

Juan to Norma: "I dream of the day when you say, 'Juan, my love, I'm here to stay. I will never be away from your side.'"

'Ellos (Malcom y Carmela) son los pajarracos malos.' Abuelo identifies Malcom and Carmeal to Juan David as 'evil vultures.'

Norma catches Feonando cheating on Grabiela in her own house.

Armando protects himself with a chair against a pistol-packing Conchita.

Thanks for the numerous photos Jean ;) I'm commenting on Wednesday and Thursday episodes.

I was so relieved that Ruth didn't leave the homestead. I figured she would have gone to Melissa's instead of back to Raquel's, but it's still nice that she's stayed at home and is trying to make peace with what she knows. If Raquel has a brain, she should count her blessings and agree to have the occasional visits from Ruth without having her home. It's better than nothing, and more than she deserves after all the intrigue she's been causing.

Marie Celeste, I agree on the wine being out of place. Juan has been primarily a tequila drinker, so I guess he drank wine when it was there, but it was just weird. I can see Oscar grabbing some Merlot to feel classy, and Franco probably learned about wine back when he was dating Jimena. That and they are doing as the Romans when in Rome.

Poor Olegario. He deserved to pay for what he did, but not to the extent that he got it, and certainly not from Fernie. That saddest part, is that some of those guys were his friends once. You'd think they would have at least said - "hey boss, maybe he was having a menage a trois, he was already dating Dominga."

I am very excited about the previews! Fernie may well get a taste of his own medicine. Then again, they may just be getting our hopes up.

I thought it was kind of strange that Óscar would take Jimena to the staid old club rather than to a more exciting place but of course they had to run into Feonando and Grabiela.

It was totally bizarre that Quintina and Dominga didn't say anything to anyone about leaving Olegario at the mercy of Feonando. Aren't there any empty cabins on the Reyes estate? How on earth did Quintina and Dominga get to the one on the Elizondo estate? I can't see Quintina riding a horse!

Of course, the eternal law of the police on novelas is that they almost never arrest the correct person and if by chance, they do, that person always goes free.

I haven't seen the second hour of today's episode but the scene with Melissa and Leandro giving sensible advice to Ruth was nice. Especially when Melissa told Ruth that she had three mothers: Eva, Raquel and that Melissa considered herself like a mother to Ruth.

Once again, great pictures Jean!

What stunned me about yesterday's episode when Fernando put the moves on Ruth was that she didn't SAY anything when Norma walked in on them! Fernando forced that kiss on her and she slapped him, but just kept quiet when Norma was there. If that had been me, I would have screamed bloody murder to Norma and told everyone in sight! And then when Ruth was leaving, Norma gave her a second chance to speak up, when Norma was saying what a jerk Fernando is. But Ruth still said nothing. I don't know how she could just keep quiet and let him get away with doing such a thing.

I was glad to see Jimena bring Oscar lemonaid on today's show. No alcohol was in sight, and it was in the evening, too!

Jean, I'm with you on the Rosario outfit. That's "classy" - NOT! OTOH, perhaps Pepa should pay Leandro a visit to design her maternity cabaret clothes.

Martin is so cute with little JD. It's never to early to start teaching our youth who the evil vultures are ;)

Just exactly how long is Norma going to stick it out at the Elizondo Hacienda?
Her mother told her to leave;
Feonando tried to rape her;
Feonando threatened her child; and
she's got Juan waiting for her and she's lied to him about what is going on. Not smart!!!

I'm with you Jean, what else does Norma need to get the heck out of dodge? As for the lying, they've all gotten a little too good at it. Sara hid getting whipped, Jimena tried to hide getting raped, and now Norma's doing the same. It occurs to me that Norma has never seen TV movies, or she would have had the good sense to bring a tape recorder to that meeting, or at least had Gabi listen at the door. She's been waiting to unmask Fernie, and this would have been the perfect opportunity for mom to know what a slimeball she married.

I'm still not sure why Ruth said nothing about Fernie's adavances, especially since she knows he tried to rape Jimena. She probably figures Gabi won't believe her and everyone else would just worry.

Howdy Juanchas =)

I had a thought (it's rattling in my brain by it's lonesome) so I double checked the TV listings. Just an FYI to those that are following along on YouTube that all of next week (8/4-8/8) PdG will be one-hour long. Monday appears to be an encore of the "Victoria" finale, and the rest of the week will be encores of "Doña Barbara" as it's traditional during a TN's first week. The following week (8/11 and so on) will be back to our two-hour blocks.
